In my early 20s I was waiting tables and made friends with one of the lines cooks, his name was Mac. I had heard a lot of punk music but was mostly a metal head at the time. Mac was an old punk kid from Connecticut. He played bass in some great bands, like the old bands who’d been around town for decades. He’d lived in Alphabet City in the 70s and 80s. He told me stories of Max’s Kansas City, CBGBS, late nights at the Saturn Bar. All the amazing shows he’d been to, going to see GG Allin, Television, The Dead Boys, Ramones, etc. he taught me everything I know about punk.
I gave him a ride home every now and then, and that’s when I really got to know him. He’d say, “Hey, man I got some hash if you wanna gimme a ride so I don’t have to walk”. You’d think with the punk stereotypes that he’d be a certain way, but you’d walk into his house and it was covered in sports memorabilia. He was an avid fan of football and hockey. Took me to my one and only hockey game.
One time I waited on Peter Wolf from the J Geils band, and Mac was a huge fan, but he wasn’t at work that day. I asked Peter for an autograph to my “step dad” Mac. I made that up to tug on heart strings in case he wasn’t in the mood. He ended up drawing a cowboy with a huge hat, and signing the drawing. I gave it to Mac the next day I saw him and he says, “Cool, man! What…..the fuck is with the cowboy?”. I told him how I’d coerced Peter into signing it, his reply, “Aawwww, you wish I were your step dad? Is your mom hot?!?” He would tell people I was his stepson. Or “The kid I never wanted”, he’d call me.
TLDR; My chosen stepdad died, and I’m going to miss him like crazy. He taught me everything I know about punk rock, and his favorite show of all time was when he saw The Deadboys.

Seasonal Allergies Immunotherapy
Hi I’m planning on applying for OCS when I graduate in May. But im currently taking allergy shots for my seasonal allergies. I would have no problem pausing them during basic etc. Resuming when I’m past training, but is this something I have to do? Is it worth having to get a medical waiver for it? Do I need to tell my recruiter?

Currently in the process of reenlisting as a prior service who was chaptered out in AIT for SI. Submitted and turned over all my paperwork to my recruiter and awaiting MEPS. My recruiter said this is the longest part of the waiting game from his experience. How long should I be expecting to wait realistically? I would ask my recruiter but I feel like I've bothered him enough over the past few weeks lmao. - Thanks!

Weight loss
I'm currently 5% body fat over for the arms 2.0. I'm eating way better and consuming 12-1,500 calories and losing an average of 3,000 calories a day. I've been running/walking 2 miles a day of hill terrain. My recruiter said I need to lose 10 pounds by May 17. I need tips and tricks on how to lose those pounds by then

Army National Guard recruiter says at MEPS you can choose from several dates to start basic. Is that accurate?
If so, typically how many dates are there to choose from and how far in the future? I have a great civilian job, so would like to know my date as far in advance as possible.
Edit: would go on to traditional state OCS (yea, I know the internet’s opinions on it but it fits my life really well) afterwards.

I've got 4 years active and 3 years guard under my belt and I've always put in to my tsp to get the match. I know you need 8 years to keep the matching, but my unit has drained what little motivation I had left for the army, and I've decided I'm done. I'm curious if anyone can help me figure out if there's any option that will help me keep my tsp matching besides a 1 year extension. I doubt the IRR counts towards 8 years, and from what I understand, the inactive guard is simply a pause button. So instead of pushing me to 8 years, it's just delaying my 7th till next year or something. I'm also wondering if a future federal job would contribute to that 8 years or if it has to be all concurrent. Thank you for any help or any resources or links yall can send me to figure this out.

I was wondering if I could join the army with depression, anxiety, and OCD. All diagnosed. I have no suicide attempts or anything like that, no inpatient care either. All of these are somewhat mild and manageable, and I haven't been on any medication. But that was another concern of mine, if I was to get on any medication, would that disqualify me? Thanks a lot.

Im currently a senior in high school trying to enlist in the army since December but I’m at a loss of what to do. I took the asvab scored a 61 but autism came up on my records from when I was a kid. I had to get a full medical Record for meps then they wanted my pharmacy record and now they want some more records my recruiter made me sign a form for my old doctors to get it from them about a month and a week ago. I called him the earlier this week and he said he Kentucky or Kansas (I didn’t hear him well and forgot) doing some training I honestly just don’t know what to do I’ll graduate from high school in a few weeks and I probably have a month after that before my parents kick me out any advice?

Hey all, I wanted to get some insight on whether you all think I would be able to enlist with Crohn's. I've seen online that it's generally marked as an "unwaivable medical condition" but sometimes goes on a case by case basis. My IBD is very mild, I honestly forget that I even have the damn disease because it doesnt effect my daily life at all. I have it managed by taking an 8-week biologic but have gone on extended breaks from it before due to insurance reasons (roughly 2-3 months without any meds) and had no flare ups or any issues of the sort. However, my doctor is thinking of switching me to a daily pill (Rinvoq). I don't have any food sensitivities like a lot of Crohn's patients have (caffeine, alcohol, dairy, etc.) and have never had any surgeries nor does my GI doctor think i'll ever need one. I wanted to enlist for a 17C contract as im already in college for tech anyhow, I'm not sure if that would effect my standing. However, dream MOS is 18X but I figure that may be tougher to get by a recruiter. Any advice or thoughts? Army has been my dream forever and I don't want to have to give it up, so I'd really do anything haha.

I have read a few horror stories where someone enlisted with X,Y, or Z in their contract, but after basic they where told something else and could not confirm the original. For example, someone claims they had a specific location through Option 19, only to later be told they are going somewhere else.
My first question is: has this happened to anyone here, and if so and how was it resolved?
My second question is: after signing your contract, how do you gain acess to it later? Do you receive a physical copy for yourself? Can you download a copy? Is there someone you can ask in the Army to retrieve it for you? Will it be acessable on a portal of somekind?

my recruiter says that I can't get option 4 in my 35W contract but I really want to be airborne as a 35p/m so I have a higher chance of having my skills be put to use. Is a bonus worth choosing the Army over the AF?
In general, I’ve heard that the army’s QoL is less than that of the Air Force. However, the army has way more jobs w bonuses that I’d be interested in. And it’s the same or similar jobs as the Air Force, but w a bonus. I know the Basic Training for army is also longer, but a bonus can be convincing. I have the same question, but in regards to joining the navy as well. I want to focus on my education during my enlistment & get my bachelors & id also like travel opportunities. I haven’t taken my ASVAB yet, it’s scheduled the 16th. I scored rlly well on the PiCAT, and according to those scores I qualify for some army jobs w a bonus. I know it’s not as simple as that, and it’s a whole process & based on what’s available. Just want some opinions on if I was offered an army job w a bonus as opposed to the same/ similar Air Force job without, would you consider it worth it based on your experience?
I already got some answers from a post I made about this, but moderator deleted it and said to comment here. But any additional info/ insight is greatly appreciated. I want to make the best choice for my future in the case that I don't want to do 20 years.

I'm joining up rn and working with a recruiter. We've got my waivers and everything. Pretty much just have to pick a job. For background I was an IET separation back in 2009. From what I've read and what me and my recruiter have gone over I am glossary non-prior service. I could have sworn I read (albeit a while ago) that business rules did not apply to GNPS, so I should be free to pick my MOS. However, I talked to my recruiter earlier today and he wants me to sit with his 1SG and go over the job options available for prior service. Am I wrong and I just get what I get?

I was looking to join the guard but in my medical records it shows I had Guillan barre. I was feeling some numbness in my legs, but looking back at it, it was very cold outside and I was just a bitch who would try to get out of school by any means possible. They did a spinal tap and never found any trace of the disease however. I was in the hospital for a couple of days, the gave me immunoglobulin and then I went home and nothing ever came of it. I am currently completely asymptomatic This was when I was 12 or 13 years old. Now I’m 18 and want to join but my recruiter said I have to get all the records and stuff. What is the chance that I will still be able to join? I tried looking it up online but I couldn’t find an answer. Also if I’m able to join, will I need a medical waiver?

My MOS is 68W, I'm shipping out in June and I'm taking the OPAT in a couple of weeks. I'm 5'2 and 115ish pounds. I'm pretty fit. My biggest worry is the standing long jump. I want to pass the OPAT with flying colors and keep my MOS. Is there any advice or tips y'all can give me?

I’m looking to graduate and enlist in a month but can’t decide on what MOS I want. I think 11B because I don’t want to individuate and do army shit or 68W but I’m not sure if I can get advanced combative training or other schools I want. I want to do something that’s “high speed” and meaningful while working my way towards Ranger reg. Is the 82nd Airborne a good pathway to that? How is civil affairs? Can you enlist directly into it while being active duty?

Hi everyone! I’m a high school student planning on joining the military. I’m Muslim, so I want to be sure that whichever branch I join is accommodating to Muslim needs. If it changes anything, I’m planning joining through the ROTC route.
My main concerns are, does the Army give beard waivers for Muslims? Is it possible to take short breaks throughout the day to pray? Can you fast during Ramadan? Can you be provided with halal (no pork/no alcohol) food?
Also, I’m interested in infantry or armor (or any kind of ground forces officer in general). Would these accommodations interfere with being selected for these careers or being mission ready? (Such as a beard, fasting, etc.)

What are the odds of getting a waiver for ulcerative colitis? I was EPTS’d out in march 2023 after being diagnosed while I was at 30th AG. My GI said I was in remission as of jan of this year. I take 4 Lialda pills a day and get an entyvio infusion every 2 months. I feel perfectly fine now though. Scored a 74 on the asvab.

In the navy currently and getting out in a year. I had a back injury prior to enlisting that I didn’t disclose. I plan on entering the army after my contract. If this comes up will my discharge from the navy be lowered or my benefits revoked?

So my recruiter told me that I have to get a lease first, but the thing is, is that we don't have one with our landlord. It's more like an oral lease and he's a slumlord who never tries to communicate with any of us. That being said, my recruiter then said that I should find a lease online and edit it to where I state that I'm paying the rent to my sister instead (who has a valid ID) He also stated that my sister and I have to go to a check-cashing place to get it notarized. Is this all ok to do and will the BHA be approved? Also if it's approved, does this mean that the rent we pay which is $1,365.50, is going to be paid for while I'm away and how exactly??

I just got told that I cant enlist for 2 years after my waiver got denied for a history of depression. I stopped feeling depressed last August but got officially cleared into remission in February. I was told theres no point in a consult and the most I can do is reach out to a congressman. Other than reaching out to a congressman, is there really nothing I can do?

Questions about Virginia National Guard
I want to do OCS! Now here’s my confusion. My recruiter is saying that the moment I swear in is the moment my contract is going to start and will count towards that 6 year! So, if he is right, I will basically complete 2 years training if I do state OCS. But I would like to have more control on what branch I get! My top 3 are: cyber warfare, signal, and intel. Should I do accelerated in that case? Also how likely am I to get one of those aforementioned three if I do state OCS of 18 months? My bachelor was in Computer Engineering, and I am currently enrolled in ASU for master’s pursuing Computer Science! Will I get that 24k a year tuition fee because he said there’s a possibility I might get it since it’s fully online? Can I get tuition assistance and loan repayment both? Does getting either one incur additional service time?

So my husband is going to meps next week. he has 2 different sets of scars on his left arm. He works at a mobile home plant building houses. One was from when he got caught on a nail so it's a little deeper looking and another was from some sheet metal at work. He didn't disclose it to his boss because he works on a line and it would've put his team behind so he just put some bandaids on it and went about his day and cleaned it up when he got home. This was about 1-2 years ago. What is his meps experience going to be like? They aren't self harm obviously but we've heard horror stories about the doctors at meps not believing people and DQ them. He honestly forgot about telling his recruiter and his recruiter has already sent in all his medical history and got him scheduled for meps. Should he still go ahead and tell his recruiter or just wait and disclose it at meps?

I'm currently in process Enlisting in the Reserve, while holding an associate's degree in mechanical engineering technology, with some side education in programming. While I am working towards my bachelor's degree, I'm looking to pick an MOS that will help my career, or at the very least, be interesting. I don't remember my scores, but my Recruiter told me whatever I pick, my score won't be the limiting factor.
Top of the list for career jobs is 15 series, from what I've heard from currently enlisted in my friend group, wrenching on aircraft in general is a fast track to a cushy job on the outside with my education. 25 series looks boring but useful as anything IT/electrical complements my degree. On the more interesting side, I was looking at 91 series, either 91F or 91P.
Am I going anywhere wrong with any of these jobs? Anything I should be keeping in mind?

Hi all,
I am a permanent resident here is the US, and last week I finished my ASVAB mock test with a 95 on my AFQT. The recruiter says I am eligible for everything that doesn't require a security clearance which is kind of a problem as my dream MOS are the 35-series and 17-series (As both of these are locked behind clearance requirement)
After some thinking, I narrow down to the following, but there are still too many so I hope I can get your feedback on what I am doing. My aims are: a/I want something that will translate into the civilian world well if my time in the army doesn't go well, b/I want an MOS that can advanced through warrant or becoming a commission officer if my time in the army does go well, and c/I want to push myself to the limit and break out of my comfort zone to see where I can go. If I sound arrogant, please forgive for that: I am just trying to be as careful as possible. I am nearly reaching my thirty, and I want to take deliberate steps because I no longer have the luxury of youth and family to try and fail.
The MOS are:
11-series, 12B ~~and 12D~~: I have a soft spot for these despite knowing they don't translate into the civilian world. But in my heart somewhere is a wild child that wants to test my physical prowess and wants to blow things up. I do know my knees and lower back will hate me for picking this.
15 series: With exceptions to 15C, 15J, and other works related to flying or being mechanics of sensitive equipment, I can be an aircraft technicians. I read that there are demands for airplane mechanics but I don't know much about this field other than a/I got to repair planes, b/people seem to hate it because you have to sign a long contract if you become a warrant.
68A: I did see this MOS getting recommended a lot but after reading its description, I am not very sure if I want to do it either both in the army or afterwards. I must also admit I don't have a good insights onto the day to day life of this job. Can someone shed some light about this MOS for me?
68C: Becoming a nurse seems like a very safe choice out of the military given that the BLS projects nurse to be in high demand and being able to take care of your family sounds like a big plus to me; however, I don't know if I like being a nurse. My parents were doctors, and having seen the hospital environment I can say I am not a fan. I also look into 68A but BLS prospect for it didn't seem good, and the training on 68E, 68D, and 68V look a little bit too short. Do you really become a dental assistant just with 10 weeks of training?
68W: I must admit, I have a soft spot for 68W as it allows me to be both learn some medical skills and be on the field. However, I do notice that 68W only translates to paramedic/EMT post-army, while 68C translates to becoming a nurse (which is more valued and regarded as "better" than paramedic or EMT and thus in higher demand)
88H, 92A, 92F, and 92Y: I pick these because, according to BLS, there is a projected increase need for people in warehousing and transportation. From my limited understanding of the fields, you will be in charge of handling logistics such as maintaining unit inventory, ordering supplies and weapons for your units, etc. but I am not very sure on the difference between, say, 92Y and 92A.
So, can you give me a suggestions? May anyone who has been in these MOS share their experience to help me pick? What are some of the MOS I miss?

How can i improve my chances of success after the military?
I'm going to meps in 2 weeks and im shooting for a 25 series mos. 25H was what was available at the recruiters after i took my practice asvab. I'm not the brightest bulb but, hey, I'll take it. Aside from college ,which i want to continue to pursue throughout my time in the army (or after depending on my mental fortitude once i'm actually in,) how can i set myself up for success in the civilian world? Any input from past 25h or 25 series who somehow translated their career into decent paying jobs will be much appreciated.
I'll add I'm only joining the army for the college benefits and free training as i come from a poor household and have no other feasible way to pay for it.

Hello everyone,
I was recently laid off from a $64k job, and honestly, I'm not too upset. I was already feeling burnt out and unhappy, staying primarily for the promised educational benefits to facilitate a career change, which obviously fell through with the job loss. Now, I'm considering my options and the military as a new path has been sounding appealing to an extent. The VA loan and GI Bill are particularly enticing because they would help me pursue a degree without getting into debt, and enabling the career change I've been considering. And the thought of being able to buy a house at this age/economy seems awesome.
At 28, I'm weighing the implications of joining now, especially considering the pay cut and spending four years AD without the guarantee of going overseas which for me would make it much more worthwhile. Also, I'd likely be one of the older members among younger peers, which is another factor to consider. My entry rank would be E3 due to my associate degree told by the Air force recruiter I met, but I'll need a moral waiver for a misdemeanor I had at 18, which might limit my job options not to mention she told me I would have to be at the disposal of whatever the Air Force wanted me to do? Which I am assuming means that I could enlist for one thing that they tell me nope get your doing this.The Air Force recruiter told me that I would be just fine and I would be able to get in as long as my ASVAB score is high enough.
I'm torn about whether to commit to AD and save myself or a longer term in the military via reserves but still stuck in the same loop of feeling in fulfilled, unable to afford university and in a place I would rather leave. Insights from anyone who joined the military later or faced similar decisions would be incredibly helpful.

So i have hemorrhoids right now and I go to MEPS monday. I have a Drs visit from about 2 years ago where she prescribed me the cream to use. The cream says to only use it when you have hemorrhoids. I still have the cream. Will I pass MEPS if I bring that the Dr visit. or should I get a new one the day before? It's Saturday so my recruiter won't answer.

So I enlisted on Friday. (25H) and I ship to BT in August. I’ve made my mind up before enlisting that I was going to make a career out of it. So when I was in the first time I was a 25U. I was 16 when I swore in to secure my mos and left at 18YO. I’ve decicided to go back in. Im picking between 19 jobs, I qualify for all of them as I keep my old asvab scores. I scored over a 105 in everything so I have a pretty big list to pick from. These jobs have good jobs outside of the army and that’s my angle, I know 25U translates to a good job outside of the army but it’s not my cup of tea. So any info on the jobs in the army and civilian life for these mos would be greatly appreciate. Background: Greencard holder, 6yr+ experience in IT field. No degree. Married.
Always wanted to join the military and finally have the opportunity to do so.
What I want to experience from the military;
I want the opportunity to grow in the IT field and have military experience and later on attain a contractor job in overseas installations. Very interested in being able to move overseas for a few years specially Japan.
My biggest interest is to grow in my career + experience other countries.
Recruits have also told me that for active duty they are allowing first duty station to be chosen because the army apparently has a shortage of people joining so they want to motivate people to join by allowing them to choose duty stations. This has made me consider going active IF they aren't lying about this + the job security has always been a plus to me.
My primary plan was :
Going reserve, getting my citizenship while in basic training, changing my mos to 25B then finding government contracting job overseas preferably (Japan) and changing my unit to Japan to drill there (Camp Zama). Overall my biggest goal is to move overseas and be in the IT field.
What is the best route? Advice is greatly appreciated in advance:)

I want to enlist as a 19D Wont be for a year or so still but trying to do my research and evrything and make sure this is what i want, So far it looks like it is but i have a couple of questions that i need answering before i decided to enlist. 1. as a 19D with 19C coming will 19D still be manning Bradleys 2. I'm going to MEPS this week and I was told that the Job I'm really interested in (12w) is rare and to not get my hopes up. I'll be doing research about some other jobs, but if I really want that job should I just wait for a slot to open up or go with alternate choices?

Vision Waiver Acceptance Probability
So I’m wanting to enlist as an 11x OP 4in the army, went to MEPS a few weeks ago, and am currently waiting on a current injury to be waived. I’m just kind of worrying about my vision waiver. Recruiter said we have to wait for this to be cleared first, then we can launch the vision waiver.
What’s the probability that a vision waiver will be accepted with Visual Acuity of 20/30 20/50 corrected vision. I understand everything is case to case, I’m just kind of worrying that it’ll end up being denied.

In the process of renegotiating my contract before shipping out and I'm seriously considering 19K (M1 Armor Crewman). Recruiter told me that anyone can volunteer to go to airborne school at BCT and I really want to go airborne but it seems like 19Ks don't really do it as much as other MOS's. Is it true that i will have the opportunity to volunteer myself for airborne school at basic? If not, how can I attend Airborne or any other specialized school as a tanker?

Just reserved mos 88L Water craft engineer.
Was excited at first as I’ve e heard a lot of good things about this mos, but i have a wife, 6yr old and another on the way and am worried that i wont be home that often given this mos. Im supposed to go to meps in 4 days and swear in. Im really not trying to be away from my family all that often. Is this mos bad for family life? Have i made a mistake? Hello, I'm currently a high school senior who is interested in joining the ROTC. I've reached out to ROTC recruiters in the colleges that I will be attending however, they never picked up their phones nor responded to their emails after multiple attempts. I'm a dad to the most wonderful 1 year old boy. Without entering into much detail, he brought so much joy to my life that I can say that he gave me reason enough to keep living.
He's showing a tremendous curiosity, and both me and me wife try our best to feed this flame the best we can. I was a hyper curious child and had the luck of having parents who did their best to quench my thirst for knowledge, and we wish to provide the same.
But, speaking of curiosity, one day the question will eventually come: "dad, why do you have so many scars?". And, honestly, I don't have the slightest clue about how to answer this.
I've been struggling with self harm for 20 years, and despite going some years without doing anything at a time, eventually I always relapse... Therapy is helping a lot (it used to be much more common and aggressive in the past), but I can't erase the marks on my skin. Several are covered with tattoos, but several are noticeable to a keen eye.
I started doing this when I was 14, way before I even dreamt of parenthood, but I can't go back in time to undo this. So, how can I ever explain this to my own child?

I'm thinking of getting a tattoo for my dad who passed away a few years back. Ever since that happend I've wanted to get a tattoo to remember him by. As I started studying japanese I came to love how meaning-packed some kanjis are and I'm thinking about adding some to the potential tattoo.
With some reasearch and brainstorming I think I want to keep it simple, just have "pappa" (dad in swedish) along with a kanji or 2. I am not suicidal at this present moment however i have suffered from depression for over twenty years and the last nine years have been particularly hard. Im being harrassed, abused and stalked on a daily basis, seemingly by police, military "intelligence", freemasons and various other branches of government. Not only have I had this confirmed by people in the military, but i've confronted main people involved in this and they've apologised and broken down or have given me what they know.
I've issued 9 complaints, split between my local police, my local council and the home secratary (who apparently would have had to have signed off on the types of harrassment and surveillance that they use) and had zero response. Not only do i get 0 responses, when speaking to three officers face to face (the police were called on me by an unknown person posting a video online about this) they told me there was no record of any of my complaints. I spoke to a organisation in my home town (nottingham) regarding this and they knew all to well of the types of harrassment that i was describing but told me that they are/were unable to assist with complaints regarding law enforcement etc and that i would have to hire a solicitor. i am broke. I am broke because near enough every job i've gone into since leaving the catering industry and a few before are seemingly filled with people who know exactly who i am and make a bee line for me straight off the bat, by manipulating the thoughts and opinions of people around me and doing nothing but try to hold me down and ridicule me.

It seems to be to do with a fire started in 1976 at st wilfrids church in wilford, nottingham (13 years before i was born) and seems to stretch all the way to the monarchy. If you think this sounds far fetched, the military, police and tax office all come under "his majesties(HM)" etc etc, meaning regardless us stating that we're controlled by government, the monarchy still runs said branches and the church... I was mutilated as a child (i knew this from about 12-14 years old and around three years ago one of the heads of the midwifry department in the hospital i was born in was arrested for having a part in over 1500 deaths and mutiliations) The types of abuse i face are vast; Car registration plates with messages from officers/undercover officers, the false conversations that are had around me constantly, the false people who get involved in my life merely to act as antagonists, i am hacked and surveilled constantly and i am let know that people watch my diary entries that i record onto my pc, at least my last two flats are repeatedly broken into, i am watched everywhere i go and seemingly inside my own flat... It seems as though every name i see on forums or content posts are a thinly veiled allegorical insult towards me...it used to be comments that were thinly veiled insults, however i would reply with some sort of allegorical insult so now it seems to be the names of posters on innocuous posts. This is the same as they used to insult me directly, however i've always been a pretty direct person so now they use allegory and groups of people because they seem to need to tell people i don't stand up for myself which i do the majority of the time, or things such as the reg plates with vehicles usually driven by the elderly or women with kids because if i confront these people it's going to make me look worse...I have actually confronted multiple people, and they give some rushed vague answer as to why they have an obvious insult towards me on their registration plate. I have also been let know twice, by people that work for the government that i have no proof and i'll be able to prove nothing. The last guy was an apparent councilor, who smiling extremely brightly said " it must be really frustrating that you have no proof". speculate all you want on my mental health but that is either a fucking wank councillor or this is another case of them attempting to wind me up. Oh and i was told by a psychiatrist that they were hoping i was going to see this as satirical...I was beaten unconscious while handcuffed one night by three riot vans full of police officers, who in the morning said it was because i matched the description of someone that was trying to break into a vehicle in a hotel car park close to where they arrested me. I don't drive and I was wearing a different coloured hoodie than the color of the hoodie they described in the morning and from what i remember, the police officer was sat on my back screaming "we know you've got something on you"...they mentioned nothing about any vehicle. I was then knocked unconscious and awoke in the morning. This is apparently what i'm supposed to find satirical. Said psychiatrist prescribed me mirtazerpine... split the letters up - mi - (r) tazer - pine...This is more of what they do because to me that equals "military intelligence tazer of the pineal gland" and it for sure made me feel brain dead and devoid of any energy therefore acting as a complete negative, so i stopped taking it after the first round. IT isa similar technique that they use with the naming of alot of drugs - co-caine...All of these organisations are based in religions and in the bible it was caine that killed able...caine killed ability...co...covert operative. weed, which we used to call theshit that grew in our gardens that strangled all the other plants... I believe that i am frequently drugged, set up to appear as shit that i'm not and the last few properties i've lived in have been repeatedly broken into. I actually fully believe that on at least three occasions they have broken into my flat/s to fuck with my cats - the reason being that i was warned that they had done this and over the next couple of days they near enough erupted in fleas and worms. They are house kittens and at the time they were around two months old. When i saw what i perceived to be a warning that they had fucked with my cats, it was another occasion where i thought, "if this comes true then this is another case of indisputable proof in my head".

He told me they were charging me with burglary, criminal damage and breaking and entering...for taking...photos....in a warehouse that was utterly and completely trashed and had one of its ceilings caved in, was covered in graffiti and had the majority of its windows smashed in...did they think i was going to say "i'm ever so sorry". I'm not and i wont be doing, and he's still a petty piece of shit that should have been charged with wasting police time. They are also trying to make out its to do with this girl i went to school with whose father and mother are both in education and ive seen her dad leaving the freemason building which is about a five minute walk from where i live, covered in shit loads of medals and like, mr t esque chains....i was never into her...i dont think that since we left school, she would say she's been at all into me, but i dont know how it was from her side but ive had nothing but people we went to school with telling me that they think we're going to end up together, over and over and over a fucking gain. I know that she had created a fb page back back in the day, we're talking 2010 (when i discovered it) or possibly prior where she'd invited a bunch of people i know to keep tabs on me and tell her my whereabouts because i used to not respond to her messages. wtf. Oh also one of my mums best friends told me that she was trying to have me sectioned...her ex boyfriend was also sectioned. This would make alot moresense if we'd ever been together...we havent been. we hung out when we were kids and occasionally in our mid twenties. IT would be harsh to say she is nothing to me but like...i really didnt hang out with anyone from school once i left so i dont know how else to put it...There was also another website called "spicy ketchup" that was a tonne of photos of me in compromising positions (drunk etc) that was basically reeling off however much this person hated me and talking about how i couldn't "wax lyrical" and basically a tonne of insults that you could sling at any other human being. I am 34 and i can remember thinking something was not right when i was seven. I had a maths teacher when i was fourteen who held me back after class and told me that she had no idea what was going on but that i was intentionally being held back (i was put in the bottom group for nearly everything and my test results were constantly above average and apparently specifically for maths, based on these exams we had to do called CATS). right after this and i mean right after this, she was moved into a different class and was no longer our teacher. within a couple of months she was sacked. I have her name and i also queried all of this with my school, being one of many companies i submitted a sar (subject access request) to. They told me they had no records on me at all, much the same as the two security companies said. In my early teens, there was this guy who used to fuck with me, who i later found out was a cocaine dealer, who was the boyfriend of my mums friend. He's maybe forty-ish years older than me. He has much like the fed, shown up again and again in my life as someone seemingly fucking with me. i found out a few years ago his dad was a priest, which again, was just another "oh yeah well that makes sense" moment.
I am fully aware that i seem insane, but these people seem to be intent on deleting me from history and making it so that it even fucking looks like i dont exist. Again, this seems to be shit to do with some beef over a fucking church gazebo and for them most part, i want to know what the fuck to do. I have been speaking to mental health professionals for sixteen years and they never deem me to have any serious mental health issues, except for the guy that came with the police who wrote down that i had psychosis, which was not mentioned at all in the conversation and i believe along with the piss take medication he prescribed me and letting me know that i was going to find this funny, just thought he'd record that i was insane to further discredit me. This seems so trivial writing this out but it's giving me anxiety. I (35f) have always loved tattoos, to me they are a beautiful way to express yourself. My mother on the hand has always said she thinks they're stupid and can't imagine why anyone gets them. In 2020 my father suddenly passed away and it clicked in my head that you never know if you will see tomorrow so do what makes you happy, so I finally decided to get my first tattoo, this was within a year of him passing. I got a tattoo that had deep meaning for me and in its own way helped me get through my father's passing. When I told my mom about it I knew she wouldn't approve but I had no idea how badly she would react. She came over to mine and my husband apt to drop something off and asked to see it, she just stared at it and asked why I would do this. For some reason it was like she took it personally that I got a tattoo just to hurt her, she squeezed my arm hard and started crying and then screaming at me about how disappointed she was and betrayed she felt... the kicker though was her yelling that my dad would be disgusted with me for this. It got the point where my husband was about to throw her out. After she left I just laid in bed crying while my husband reassured me she was wrong for everything she said. Eventually my mom and I started talking again, she apologized, I think her reaction was so strong because she was still in such a deep depression about my dad passing. She hasn't mentioned the tattoo since. Come to present day, my mom is doing much better emotionally, she is dating someone and we are on good terms. Last July I got another tattoo, it's true that once you get one you want more lol. This one is much easier to hide, on my upper arm so I have yet to mention it her, so far it's been easy to wear long sleeves or t shirts that cover, but this weekend my brother is having his daughters birthday party at my moms and it's a pool party. I don't plan on swimming but would still like to be comfortable in a tank top, which would expose my "new" tattoo. So my question, should I give her a heads up that I have it, or just let her see it at the party? I don't want a scene at my nieces party, I don't know how she will react. The anxiety of her seeing it is about to make me puke. My husband is on the side of just let her see it and be dismissive about it. Thanks for advice in advance.
Info: both tattoos are not offensive, they are from two of my favorite book/ movie series. Also my mother was a highly protective stay at home mom my entire life, she has always had an explosive temper (always just yelling but knowing what to say to hurt you, never hitting) so even today if someone raises their voice I instantly feel like I'm in trouble and try to be invisible, my body physically reacts.

I’m assuming if you’re in a Mad Max reddit you’re a bigger fan than just the average movie buff, so how’d you become a fan of this franchise? For me, my dad showed me the original uncensored Mad Max when I was about 5, maybe a bit too young for it, but anyhow. I was obsessed. I watched Road Warrior and Thunderdome but the first was still my favorite. I moved onto other movies but around the age of 18 when Fury Road came out I remembered how much I loved that original and went to see Fury Road opening weekend. Fury Road is still to this day my favorite movie of all time. So now 20 years after loving that original movie I’ve been Max for halloween, got a V8 logo tattoo, and am still a huge fan

-I also enjoy music a lot, mostly metal, but also pop punk, pop, rap, country, and some other random stuff too. I've been to A LOT of concerts over the past 10 years but haven't been to many recently.
-im pretty introverted, I work a lot and when I'm not working I like to pretty much stay in and relax for the most part.
-i work night shift, i I have a pretty unorthodox schedule and sleep during the day and I'm up all night haha
I have 6 tattoos!
I don't smoke or drink, I don't really mind or care if you do though!

Sorry this is a madly long post.
Tldr: I work as a psych nurse. Been criticised by supervisor for poor leadership during critical incidents on the ward, staff members are toxic and cliquey and have been bullying me
So I work as a psych nurse. And I've run into some problems at work. There has been this other nurse (ill call her S) who's recently been promoted to deputy ward manager of the ward, and she's now my supervisor. This woman has been vile to me. Not to a serious extent, but still. She's been passive aggressive. She's been bossing me about like her dogsbody, especially ever since being promoted. One shift in August last year we were working together and I was applying make up at the start of the shift. I was still doing work though. I was doing a particular task and she asked "oh are you doing the task? And I said yes and she was like "oh, thought you were doing your make-up". Then during my supervision with my manager a few weeks later, he brought up about the make up thing, so obviously she'd reported it to him. She's been passive aggressive to me fairly often. One time at work she was doing admin work and I was working with another nurse. I started the daily handover notes and the other nurse said to me "don't worry, I'll do it, you're doing the ward round" and I was like "oh I don't mind, just thought I'd start it as I've run out of tasks to do" and then S made a snide passive aggressive comment under her breath, and then left the office. I didn't hear what she said. I looked to the other nurse and the nurse said "don't take no sh*". S is generally quite bossy, a know it all, and belittles others. She's also best buds at work with a nurse (K). K has also been passive aggressive and rude to me. One time during the handover, I was the night shift nurse and K and S were on the day shift. They kept questioning my handover, like as if I'd done it wrong and they were doubting my abilities. Also a few weeks ago, K sent me a rude email saying how I'd been ordering medication we already had stock of and that it was a waste of medication. Usually when you send such an email to a colleague, it's meant to be done with a bit of decency and respect, despite pointing out their mistake. But she did it so unprofessionally and rudely. I told her I'd only ordered them cause one of the agency nurses had told me they'd run out and needed ordering. Then a day ago, K had ordered a medication our ward doctor already ordered, yet is anyone gonna criticise her mistake? Absolutely not! At my place it's a matter of "if the name fits". It's extremely cliquey and toxic. I was on the phone to a patients family member telling them something and in the background K was tutting and raising her hands in frustration. After the call she told me what I'd done wrong. Like seriously. People who report my mistakes off the bat or "attack" me about them face to face are vile and shouldn't be in a job because their behaviour is disgusting. Why can't they be decent and just pull me aside and politely and respectfully tell me where I went wrong? I'm 1.5 years into being a nurse but still. I'm also only 27 and don't have much life experience overall. K and S are a few years older than me and do have a couple years more experience than me. But they act as if I'm crp at my job. But yeah, K and S are best buds as I said. There's a big clique on my ward at work.
There was a senior nurse role on the ward recently, after S got promoted, and K said that my manager and our clinical director gave it to her off the bat rather than advertising it first. The hospital director (above the clinical director) said this wasn't allowed and that it had to be advertised, applied for, and go through a proper process with an interview. So this happened, and the post got withdrawn from K. I had my interview for the post with S on Saturday (despite knowing K would get it regardless). Also after the interview, S did supervision with me. She told me she'd had feedback from colleagues and even patients that I was not confident enough and did not have good leadership skills when critical incidents occurred on the ward. She said I tend to take a backseat and that I need to be more at the forefront of incidents directing everyone and everything. I understand this. My manager told me this in supervision in March but in a wayyyyy less brutal way. He just said that it seemed I was presenting as anxious and nervous when dealing with patients who were "kicking off" and aggressive on the ward and something along the lines of what S told me like about being a bit more passive about dealing with incidents. I do appreciate these comments as I am naturally a passive introverted and anxious person. Also sometimes I feel a bit stuck and don't know how to handle the situations straight away and it takes me time to formulate a solution. I was able to manage an incident on the ward during a night shift with an agency nurse, where the agency staff was as passive as me, and the situation was diffused and handled properly, so it proves I am capable. But the day staff don't see that I guess because K and S are very confident and overpowering as people so in comparison I look like I'm doing F all in terms of incidents.
Then on Monday, the clinical director told me about how I had not succeeded in the interview. This was despite the fact its been a bank holiday weekend, so HR weren't working so couldnt have appraised the interview notes taken. My managers on holiday at the moment. So it was probably a straight whatsapp text from S to our clinical director saying "tell my name she hasn't got the job lol". He said my answers to the questions were not detailed enough and that over the next few months I should try to consolidate my knowledge so if I apply for future posts I can perform better in the interview. He also asked me to talk about what I'd spoken to S about after the interview, and I mentioned what S said about my leadership and confidence on the ward. The clinical director told me I should listen to S and follow her instructions and said "she knows what she's talking about". I found this comment a bit weird and don't know quite the purpose of it. It sounded like a bit of a dig at me. It doesn't surprise me though given im sure he fancies the pants off of her. A colleague said he'd been flirting with her before, another colleague said they were sleeping together and I asked really but they didn't mention anything further, another colleague said they were friends. S is a gorgeous girl, I mean not a supermodel but she is definitely quite pretty. I imagine both the clinical director and my manager fancy her. When they come into the office they sit close to her and talk to her. Bet she loves the attention.
I just feel really hurt by all of this. There's just this big clique at work. S and the clinical director are friends. S and my manager seem quite close. S and K are very close and they're also friends with a part time support worker G. One time when I was giving an injection, G told me to hold it in for 10 seconds!! She's a support worker not even studying nursing yet she had the right to tell me what to do. Patronising AF. Then they're also best buddies with another 2 support workers. Also K and S were known to be bullying a support worker R, who was so upset by it all that she got another job. On shift, K and S had been telling R to leave the office and sit out on the ward, but G their best bud was allowed to stay in the office with them gossiping and G was applying her make up doing nothing.
I really am contemplating asking to move to a different ward. I cried after my supervision with S on Saturday. I cried even harder after my meeting with the clinical director yesterday. A support worker noticed I was crying and asked if I was okay and was like you sure? I had go hide in the pharmacy alone for 10 minutes to cry it out and i had to walk past the patients with tears coming out my eyes. I want to apply for a new job anyway in October, as I'm tied to my current company till then as they funded my degree. I hate shift work, I'd rather do 9 to 5 in community nursing or another 9 to 5 nursing job. But for now, I was thinking of asking to move wards. I currently work on a female acute ward. There are 2 other wards in the hospital that are less challenging. One is the private addiction ward and one is the eating disorder ward. They have their own challenges but they rarely have the type of incidents that occur on my current ward, the ones I'm always criticised in as being a poor leader in. I'm not 100% sure yet but I do feel very awful being on my current ward. The cliquiness and toxicity is so high here. Honestly. I'm thinking about it. I'll talk to my parents about it tomorrow as they're visiting (convenient timing). My dad was an occupational therapist in the NHS for many years so he might know more about workplace politics in healthcare. I just don't know what to do.

My fiancé who I’ve been with for more than 5 years can the sweetest, most gentle and just precious human being on earth. However,( and I’ve typed and deleted the incoming adjectives more than a few times ) he’s very incompetent and unreliable. I almost always have to redo things again or fix his mess and it’s starting to get to me lately. I usually don’t want to say anything because he does try…but..
Example: he mows the lawn, he did it completely the wrong way. Mowed it while the grass is wet and just made lawn chipped on every corner and just ugly.
He tried to clear the snow with snow blower, Told him to read instructions A COUPLE TIMES.. he doesn’t..he breaks our brand new blower.
My windshield washer got frozen, told him to leave it but he decided to fix it himself.. blew up the whole washer container whatever thing because he put hot water in it and kept trying to” push it out “
He said he found a house listing to view , I take day off for the viewing, drove 40 mins one way etc. when we got there it was a basement for rent… not even the whole house.
Whenever I trust him with driving to somewhere a little further from house and not me reminding him where to turn every time… he always makes the wrong turns and adds 5-10 mins to our 20 min drive
He keeps getting scammed online because he believes all these crazy ads without even doing his own research.
He keeps telling me these business ideas he watched online and him thinking that it’s SO easy to do it and want to just do it right away without doing his own research
Also. He tries too much to please my dad.
Idk. He’s the sweetest soul, he does almost EVERYTHING I ask him to(just not right most of the times). additional bonus he’s such an eye candy all muscles and tattoos. But he’s just not the smartest and it’s hard cos all work kind of falls on me… and sometimes I just want to rely on him too…

I have a question for you. I come here with a lot of respect for La Santísima Muerte and for you.
I'd like to get a tattoo of La Santísima Muerte on my quadriceps. I want to do this because I'm Mexican, and I understand that La Santísima Muerte is a deity worshipped since pre-Hispanic times, making it one of the most Mexican symbols possible.
In desperation, I asked her for a favor related to my father's health. Unfortunately, my dad passed away because his condition was so critical, and I believe it was the best for him. Despite the outcome of that situation, I still want to get a tattoo of La Santísima Muerte.
What do you think about getting one on my quadriceps? I think it's a good place for me because I don't want it to be in a very visible spot on my body. Would it be inappropriate to place it there, as it might seem like I'm hiding it? Am I wrong?
I'd appreciate any advice and any suggestions on where I should do my research to ensure that what I'm planning is appropriate.

We're selling my Dad's home, which is about 50 years old. Many years ago, the doors in one of the bedrooms got broken and busted. The closet doors have holes in them. The door to the bedroom jamb is split, and the door has holes in it.
We spoke with a realtor, and the one we're using said to replace the bedroom and closet doors but leave them unfinished because a prospective buyer may want to paint them whatever color, etc.
The doors in the rest of the house are dark, and the molding is stained by two different people. So, you can also tell the darkness from room to room on the stain. Plus, they did a crappy job of staining because all of the doors are rough to the touch, so they were never sanded, and a clear coat was never put on them.
Anyhow, I'm at the point where I'm replacing the bedroom doors, but the problem is I can't find a door that is as crappy as the existing doors to match.

So my dilemma is, I very much prefer the white door, and I think it looks really nice, but it for sure doesn't match the rest of the house. I could replace the rest of the house with that door which I think would look nicer. It would cost me about $1,500 to do so.
My dilemma is that it is much easier for me to replace all the doors now because there is no carpet to work around. Plus, if I take the molding off, it's easier to paint, so there is no trimming.
So do I just replace the one door with the non-finished one or replace it with a white one, or should I do the rest of the doors in the house?
I personally wouldn't buy the house with unmatched doors, but I wouldn't buy the house anyway with that dark stain on the doors. So I'm having a hard time disconnecting my hatred to the dark stain to begin with.
So what do you all think I should do?
