She crossed the Rainbow Bridge at nearly 20 years old. This is her story- 💙
Hi everyone! First post to the community- I’m happy to say that I finally got the courage to join. This post took almost 2 months to muster up as I couldn’t even stand writing about this- but here I go.
I lost my Aussie that I grew up with for almost 20 years in August of 22’ and it feels like I will never get over the loss of her. She was my absolute best friend in the whole world. Now- many people say their dog is their best friend. But, let me give you some context…
I was an only child, and my first memory was my mom taking me to a ranch to pick out my very first puppy. Out of the 25 puppies that flocked out of the barn doors, only one ran up to my feet with a small tennis ball in tow. I knew she was the one for me then and there- She chose me, so I chose her.
She tolerated my youth ear and nub pulling phase, my games of Hannah Montana dress up, solo concerts, throwing myself from the highest bunk bed and playing lassie, playing vet, and eventual subsequent makeshift agility courses that I set up with bar stools and pop-up tunnels when I turned 10-11. Never once did she shy away from this, almost participating with joy in every moment we spent together.
I was an only child so you can imagine how lonely I was, (Many people don’t have this experience as an only child, but it was mine-) Growing up with a single mom that had an addiction- most of the time it was just me and my dog, and we had to fend for ourselves most nights.
She was there for me after I was SAed when I was 7- unable to communicate what had happened to anyone but her in fear of embarrassment or shame, but I could talk to her- she’d listen to me with nothing but sympathy in those big blue eyes of hers. She was with me when we lost our apartment, moving back in with my grandmother who blatantly hated me because I wasn’t fully white like her other grandchildren. She was with me when I contemplated calling the cops on my mother when she was passed out on the floor of the bathroom and I couldn’t wake her up and I thought she was dead. She was there for me when I was bullied in school for being overweight, unable to eat most healthy things because I was making my own meals most nights. She was there when I got into my preferred high school program that was over an hour away from home, waking me up with a wagging tail despite knowing I’d have to leave at 4am to catch a bus and wouldn’t return until later that night. She was there when I got together with my now fiancé, accepting him into the family as long as he tossed the ball for her a few times- as a lover of football, it was easy to get him to play with her for hours, which she adored. She was there for me when my fiancé and I moved into a small shed away from home, no a/c, no bathroom, no running water, she tagged along happily in the tight living quarters. She comforted me when I found out my grandfather had dementia and he was declining quickly, she whimpered when I cried that we’d have to return to my abusive grandmothers house to take care of him- knowing I’m subjecting myself to a world of pain to care for the one person who was always kind to me. She mediated my fights with my mother, as we ended up arguing most nights about her addiction and how it has affected me in my life.
Despite how many hardships I went through, and how many times I couldn’t find the courage to get out of bed in the morning- she always kept me going. Knowing that someone had stuck by me through my whole life and didn’t even have a thought of leaving my side, made me feel wanted in life.
Not long after I turned 18 years old, she became unable to control her bladder. Many suggested I put her down due to it being an ‘inconvenience’ but I refused- she had so much left to give, and I didn’t mind cleaning up after her mess despite how the tile ended up stained and how much we spent on diapers she’d only kick off moments after putting them on. No one knew how little I cared to be covered in pet urine as long as I got to embrace my dog that cared for me for so long.
When I turned 19, she couldn’t hold her poop anymore, doing her business anywhere and everywhere. I didn’t care, I cleaned it up. She was still my best friend, she took care of me- so I’ll take care of her. She then lost her ability to hear me, so I spoke louder. What’s wrong with screaming ‘I love you’ to a dog that got so excited whenever you said it? If anything it helped me express myself louder than usual, as I am a quiet person. A few months later, she couldn’t play ball as much as she wanted to, getting winded by her arthritis and aging lungs. Then on my 21st birthday, she lost the ability to use her hind legs. I didn’t care, I started looking up dog wheelchairs- because why not? She was still a puppy in my eyes, she had so much time left despite nearing 20 years old. My fiancé warned me that the time may be near, but I ignored him. She’d never die. She couldn’t. She’d live forever. I flipped her position few times a day, fed and watered her, gave her tons of treats, Carried her inside and outside to enjoy the sun. Anything I could do that I knew would lift her spirits.
But 2 weeks after my 21st birthday, I woke up to her whining. Not unusual, since she couldn’t sleep in bed with us anymore and had to sleep at the foot of our bed on a large pillow, but this time I heard a thud. Creeping to the edge of the bed I was met with the most horrifying sight- she was seizing. I jumped off the bed, cradling her as I tried to keep her from throwing herself off of her pillow and hitting her head. My fiancé watched in silence, but he didn’t dare suggest she was getting close to passing, as it had caused fights between us before. I REFUSED to believe my best friend was dying, it had to be a one time thing… Right?
We got maybe a few hour break before it happened again, then again… I had to make the call. She hated the vet, I couldn’t bring her there. I scoured the internet for hours, trying to find a Vet that does home visits. I made an appointment for the morning. Despite the lady driving out and taking one look at my beautiful Aussie and sighing, I immediately asked her if she can pull through this, If there was an alternative, ANYTHING to keep her from leaving my side. My fiancé put his hand on my shoulder, offering what little comfort he thought I could get from what the Vet said next. There was no hope. No enticing her to eat with pieces of sliced cheese, no magical medication to cure her, no quality of life that I could give to a dog so determined to keep living. I didn’t cry, I still held hope, even when the Vet injected her with medication to make her sleep before the final injection. I felt her relax into my arms, so I thought just maybe that would help her sleep it off. But once the lady held up the syringe with the bright pink liquid, I couldn’t stop staring at it. She asked me only once if I was ready, and I said yes immediately- blind to the thought that this would be the last time I would get to hold her warmth. She proceeded slowly, and in the moment I felt no fear- as I thought “She’s too strong for this shot, she’ll pop back up in no time afterwards with a new vigor for life! I’ll prove them all wrong!”… I didn’t know what was to come. Her chest stopped rising, and her nose began to grow cold. I don’t know how many hours I sat by her body waiting for her to wake up. I don’t remember my fiancé leaving the room to pay her for her kind service, I don’t remember him suggesting we bury her before she grew stiff, I don’t remember anything other than her blank stare that never left the vacant space of the wall. It took until later that night for us to start digging, and once we were done, I kept glancing at her body in hopes that she may have changed her mind, that she’d come back to me. It was just a cruel game.
Laying her down in her final resting place, i scowled at the flies that soon began to circle around us. How could they disturb us?! She clearly wasn’t dead…. Just, recovering. But after my fiancé filled the grave, and I dug a tiny hole for her to breath through if she decided to come back. It finally hit me. She was gone. For the first time in my life I was truly alone. I cradled her harness, her tennis ball, my childhood picture of me holding her up to the camera in my stubby arms- and I waited by her grave. I couldn’t leave.
I truly don’t remember much afterwards, other than the empty sorrow that built in my chest- since it never left. I could never love again. Not another person, not another dog. My fiancé saw the change in me, I never left the bed, I didn’t shower, I didn’t eat. I lost 60 pounds. I didn’t care, I just wanted my best friend.
Fast forward to March of 23’ when I found out I was pregnant. First there was an insurmountable joy that I’d now have purpose in life, but then the same ache hit in my chest that I felt the day my best friend died. My sweet Aussie would never get to see me become a mother, she’d never get to see me be married, she’d never get to raise my child as she raised me. The things I always thought she’d be there for, she would never get to see.
I’m 5 months into being a mother now, and still grieving. We’ve thought of getting another dog, but I couldn’t stand even looking at another puppy. I didn’t have the capacity in my heart to go through this again. But will I neglect my own child of feeling this kind of bond with a pet? Of love that is unmatched by a dog companion? Will I continue to neglect my fiancés love for animals due to my fear of my Aussie looking down from wherever she is and feeling betrayed that I replaced her? I’m rambling at this point, but god it’s been so hard. I miss her so much. She was my everything. Even now I struggle with the thought that I could love my baby just as much as I loved my dear Aussie. Is that even normal? It’s been almost 2 years, and I still feel empty.
Despite this post being very self-loathing, I just wanted to get my feelings out and find some peace that anyone else has felt this way. Is it just me? Will this ever go away? Senior dog owners, will this pain ever pass? 🥲
Sincerely,
A girl who misses her best friend. I love you P. 💔

2024.05.15 18:33 rpvee Shower keeps leaking

Shower keeps leaking
Posting on behalf of my boyfriend:
A few months ago, my super came by to switch out the knobs in my shower. I'm not sure if something was loosened or tightened in the process, but now whenever I shut the water off after a shower, the water continues to run. I'm not entirely sure how to describe it, but now when I turn the knobs off, it doesn't feel like as gradual a shutoff of the water, the knob just sort of stops turning. At first the leak was a steady drip, but now it's progressed into a fairly light stream. It does this regardless of whether I switch the stream to come out of the showerhead or tub faucet.
I'm not entirely sure, but I think it has something to do with the hot water- the stream is often warm, and when I turn the cold water shutoff valve in the nearby closet, the water continues to run. When I turn the hot water shutoff valve off, however, the stream finally stops, and continues again when I turn it back on.
Despite numerous calls to my super and landlord over the last few months, they keep coming up with excuses as to why they can't come fix it right away (a whole other issue, I know). I'm obviously not sure, but it seems like it could potentially be a fairly easy fix- either loosening or tightening something, but on the few times I've tried to fix it myself- I've taken the knobs off to try and examine the pipes in the wall, but after that, I'm totally unsure as to what to do next- there's no clear knob or valve or hose or anything to turn (at least to my untrained eye).
I'm honestly getting really fed up with waiting- I'm having to scrub the tub every couple days because of the appearance of pink mold, and I'm sure months worth of constantly running water isn't good on the tub or the pipes. If I knew what the problem was and knew what to look up, I'm sure I'd have an easier time finding a solution, so my question is- without directly examining it yourself, what would you guess the problem would be? Grateful for any advice you could give! Thanks!

2024.05.15 18:21 Leap-Day420 17M looking for a relationship

Hi! I'm from Europe so I would prefer someone from there and also someone close to my age (15-19). As I mentioned, I'm looking for a relationship
Something about me:
I like to go to the gym, do icebaths or going for a swim in cold/freezing water. I also like to eat food and sleep. Sleep is nowadays underrated. I also like to watch F1. Except for all of that I also like reading books but I mostly don't have time for it. Yeah and I also like music and I'm an audiophile. It's really expensive hobby but the result is more than perfect.
As I mentioned earlier I would like to find someone from Europe and close to my age. If you aren't a dry texter, bonus points for you :) Also this is an alt account. That's why there isn't any post history. And please when you decide to dm me, start with some introduction.
And yeah that's it. If you are interested, feel free to dm me!

Historically, the Lucero mine boasted impressive grades, with an average of 19.0g/t Au Equivalent (Au Eq) during its five years of production ending in 2005. Recent assays from underground workings in March 2023 have further validated the potential for a significant high-grade future operation. These assays yielded up to 11.7 ounces per ton of gold and 247 ounces per ton of silver, indicating a promising future for high-grade operations.

Additional Assay Results
Element79 Gold Corp. (CSE: ELEM) (OTC: ELMGF) (FSE: 7YS0) unveils additional findings from its recent underground and surface sampling efforts at the Lucero property, the cornerstone of its endeavors.
James Tworek, CEO of Element79, underscores the significance of these results: “This data isn’t just promising; it’s pivotal. It forms the bedrock upon which we build our future at Lucero.”
Out of 97 samples analyzed, 56 returned notable gold grades, with peaks at 8.55 g/t gold and 523 g/t silver, as shown in Table 1. Additionally, high concentrations of base metals were detected, affirming the project’s richness and reinforcing the Company’s confidence in its resource potential.
These assay results serve dual purposes for Element79. Firstly, they lay the groundwork for resource development and future mine planning, marking essential milestones in the project’s evaluation process.
Secondly, this data will steer the Company’s 2024 drill program, informed by comprehensive 3D modeling of geology and historic mine workings. This approach aims for precision and efficiency, utilizing a wealth of data including historical records dating back to 2005, current geochemistry data, underground mapping, and geophysical surveys.
Tworek emphasizes the significance of this data in guiding future exploration efforts: “It delineates areas of economic strength and directs our focus for ore extraction, leveraging both past data and current findings.”
Maverick Springs Project: A Silver Lining in Nevada
Another gem in Element79’s portfolio is the Maverick Springs Project, located in the renowned gold mining district of northeastern Nevada, USA. With its proximity to the prolific Carlin Trend, Maverick Springs presents an exciting opportunity for Element79. The project is a silver-rich sediment/carbonate-hosted deposit, similar to the renowned silver-rich epithermal deposits found in Nevada.

Elevating Community Relations
In its ongoing commitment to community engagement, Element79 (CSE: ELEM) (OTC: ELMGF) (FSE: 7YS0) orchestrated a strategic meeting with artisanal miners from Lomas Doradas. The goal? To cultivate collaborative ties, ensuring mutual support as the Company embarks on exploration efforts on surface land. Seeking exclusive agreements, Element79 aims for a unified approach to mineral extraction and sales, benefitting both parties.
In a bid to solidify this partnership, Element79 proposed draft contracts. These agreements outline a decade-long surface access arrangement for exploration at the Lucero mine site, reciprocated by granting local miners access to defined locations for their operations. Additionally, Element79 pledges to facilitate optimal market pricing for Lomas Doradas’ ore, ensuring a steady revenue stream for both sides.
In March, Element79’s swift response to a landslide in Chachas exemplified its dedication to community assistance. The team provided vital support, aiding in the transfer of stranded community members until roads were cleared.
Embracing local traditions, Element79’s (CSE: ELEM) (OTC: ELMGF) (FSE: 7YS0) community relations team joined in a traditional Water Ceremony alongside local authorities and leaders. This culturally rich event, steeped in Chachas tradition, underscores the Company’s commitment to meaningful engagement and integration.
Throughout the year, Element79’s engagement in social awareness remains steadfast. Site visits and consultations with annex leaders bolster community support for ongoing exploration efforts. The Company advocates for a progressive approach, aligning with sustainable development goals and community interests.
Conclusion
Element79’s (CSE: ELEM) (OTC: ELMGF) (FSE: 7YS0) commitment to responsible mining practices, coupled with its robust portfolio, positions it as a leader in the mining industry. The company’s dedication to sustainable development, strategic acquisitions, and community relations exemplify its commitment to maximizing shareholder value.
As Element79 continues its exploration and development efforts, it remains steadfast in its commitment to responsible and sustainable mining practices. By leveraging its expertise and strategic acquisitions, Element79 is well-positioned to deliver value to its shareholders while contributing to the responsible development of the mining industry.

2024.05.15 18:01 Violetteotome How bad is this burn on my hand?

Female, 5’5”, 110 pounds. About 30 mins - 1 hour ago I burned my hand with boiling water (so it’s a scald). I immediately ran under cold water for about 5 mins, then soaked it for 20 mins in cool water. No blisters yet but it is very very painful.

  • Cow Bones Chintan
  • negi oil
  • sake shio tare
So, this is an expermiental recipe, on it's first try.
for the noodles, in a kilogram of flour, I replaced 10% for semolin and 1,5% for gluten, I also lowered the SC to 1,2 . I think I had better mouthfeel results If I had used 10% of rice flour too. 38% hydration as it's the most I can make with this machine.
rested for 48 hrs before being cut into noodles. pressed into a ball and dusted with corn flower (polenta) then rested again for 48 hrs (all rest times done in airtight container at 5º Celcius.
the chintan was mostly cow femur bones cooked to death and back in a pressure cooker (2 hours under pressure). no aromatics. they were left in cold water and boiled to remove scum, then cooked and the resulting broth was clarified using the defreezing method. used around 5kg bones for 6kg water.
for the topping I seared a good crust into the thin part of a brisket (tapa de asado here) and braised it for 1,5 hours in the pressure cooker. here I aded enough broth to partially cover the meat cut and then some negui whites and greens for an aromatic base. the resulting golden color broth was mixed with 2 liters of the clarified bone chintan, effectively making a 4:1 ratio (2l bone brooth, 500 ml brasing liquid). it aded a certain warmth and meaty flavour to the broth along a golden hue. I'm kind of pleased with it.
next time I will sear the individual cut to give it more omph.
for the negui topping I used the lower part of the onion, where the white and green meet.
ajitama and negi oil.

Outside dog advice
Hi everyone, I recently had to move temporarily to a place that my dog isn't allowed, I managed to bring her with me on the condition that she stays outside, she's a year old and has always been allowed indoors. We have to keep her in a crate whenever she's unsupervised because the fences are all short and she can easily jump them, It's been a couple days now and she keeps crying whenever she's left outside overnight. We're in SoCal so it's not cold at night and we're making sure she always has access to water. Does anyone have any advice for me to help her adjust? She's been crate trained since we got her so she's not stressed about being in the crate, it just seems to be she dislikes being outside at night. She's okay with being alone during the day.
Pic for attention

Power steering pump? A/C? T belt tensioner?
99 Honda civic lx 134k mi, have this whining noise, will get loud on start like the first video and sometimes randomly while idling, will die down but can still be heard like in the second, tone increases with rpm, tried in the video to kind of stethoscope the p/s then a/c but couldn’t tell much, my A/C does not get very cold if that helps, probably leaked out, would an ac leak cause this noise? I have already replaced the notorious powersteering o-rings that usually cause a whine with oem ones so it isn’t that. My gut kinda says power steering pump because of it changing when I turn the wheel in the first video but it also drops the rpm naturally so I also think it could be changing because of that, its usually a constant noise in the background can hear at low speeds especially, higher pitch and harder to hear at high speed, definitely still there if you listen for it. Any help would be appreciated! Hoping it isn’t anything like the water pump or T belt tensioner.

2024.05.15 17:34 Ok_Presentation_9227 Should I switch from Tret to Arazlo or Differin?

Hi there!
Wondering if anyone can offer some advice…
In October of 2021, I saw a dermatologist who prescribed Biacna topical gel clindamycin 1.2% Tretinoin 0.025% and used for 14 weeks+
I got a bit creeped out by the antibiotic, so I switched to Tret cream, used 0.025%, then went up to 0.5%(tried each for 3+months) then began micro gel 0.1 retin A on dec 9th 2023 as I heard the gel was more effective for closed comedones. I have used tret daily, but use it about 3 times a week now. I have experienced purging in the past.
Recently, I saw an facialist who did tons of extractions and told me to switch to a physical exfoliant and to add cumin seed oil (moringa oil) at night. For the past 2 months or so, I have simplified my routine and don’t wear makeup but use an tinted sunscreen and Saie Slip tint.
AM:
Mineral sunscreens (Think Daily, Babo bontanicals, Supergoop)
Saie slip tint
PM:
Oil cleanse with jojoba or almond oil to remove sunscreen
Youth the People Superfood Cleaner
Avene cicalfate
Cumin seed oil (organic, cold pressed)
Tret about 3 times a week
Physical exfoliant 3 times a week
I have tried azelaic acid, BHA, AHA, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, Aztec clay, Nizoral, lactic acid, slugging, and still use the De la Cruz sulfur treatment occasionally.
Overall, my skin is still quite congested and I have new pimples forming. I never experienced glass skin or any form of tret glow. I am wondering if I should try switching to Arazlo Cream 0.045% or Differin gel (0.3 or 0.1)
Thanks in advance!!!!

2024.05.15 17:23 very-original-user ثِتونج ځوېٓسِنہ ⟨th'Tundj Gwýsene⟩ — How Did We Get Here?

=BACKGROUND=

Gwýseneثِتونج ځوېٓسِنہ⟫ ⟨th'Tundj Gwýsene⟩ /θɛˈtund͡ʒ ˈʝyːzɛnɛ/ (or "the least Germanic Germanic language") is a Germanic language descendant from Old English spoken in Nabataea (modern-day Jordan, Sinai, and northwestern Saudi Arabia). It takes place in a timeline where the Anglo-Saxons get kicked out of Britain by the Celts, therefore they sail all the way to Nabataea (I pride myself on my realism here) and settle there. Most of them eventually convert to Islam, and, as a consequence, Arabic becomes elevated to the language of academia, nobility, and poetry.
"English" as we know it still survives in-timeline as Engliscbasically Middle English with some modifications — spoken as a minority language in southeastern Britain (or Pritani as the Celts call it in-world).
==ETYMOLOGY OF GWÝSENE==
Gwýsene⟩ ⟪ځوېٓسِنہ⟫ is derived from ځوېٓسِن (Gwýsen) + ـہ- (-e, adjectival suffix), the former from Middle Gwýsene جِٔويسّمَن (ɣewissman), a fossilization of جِٔويسّ (ɣewiss, "Geuisse") + مُن (mon, "man"), from Old Gwýsene יוש מן (yws mn, yewisse monn), from Old English Ġewisse monn.
Tundj⟩ ⟪تونج⟫ is loaned from an Arabized pronunciation of Old Gwýsene תנג (tng, tunge) (from which descends the doublet ⟨Togg⟩ ⟪تُځّ⟫ /toɣ(ː)/, "tongue")
The Englisc exonym is ⟨Eizmenasisc⟩ /ɛjzmɛˈnaːsɪʃ/, From Brithonech (in-world Conlang) Euuzmenasech /ˈøʏzmə̃næsɛx/, from Middle French Yœssmanes /ˈjœssmanɛs/ (hence modern in-world French Yœssmanes /jœsman/ and Aquitanian (in-world) ⟨Yissmanes⟩ /ˈiːsmans/), from Middle (High) German \jewissmaneisch (hence modern in-world German *Jewissmännisch** /jəˌvɪsˈmɛnɪʃ/, Saxon Jewissmannisch /jɛˌvɪsˈma.nɪʃ/, and Hollandish Iweesmanis /iˈʋeːsmanɪs/), Ultimately from Middle Gwýsene جِٔويسّمَن (ɣewissman). Doublet of Englisc ⟨iwis mon⟩ /ɪˈwɪs mɔn/ + ⟨-isc⟩ /-ɪʃ/

==EVOLUTION FROM OLD ENGLISH==
The Phonological evolution from Old English to Old Gwýsene are as follows:
From Old Gwýsene to Middle Gwýsene:
From Middle Gwýsene to Modern Gwýsene:
==DIALECT GROUPS==
Gwýsene has 4 main dialect groupings:
1- Southern Dialects
Spoken around in-world Áglästrélz /ˈɑːɣɫɐˌstɾeːɫz/ [ˈɑːʁɫ(ə)ˌsd̥ɾeːɫz]. Speakers of these dialects tend to pronounce:
Regarded as the oldest dialect by Gwýsens as it encompasses the original "homeland" (if we don't count the Anglo-Saxons that is). They're also considered the most "posh", and the standard accent is loosely based on the southern dialects.
2- Central Dialects
Spoken around in-world Keü-Nüvátra /keʏ ˌnʏˈvɑːtɾɐ/ [kɛɨ ˌnɨˈvɒːtɾɐ]. Speakers of these dialects tend to pronounce:
Central Dialects are considered posh by northerners and westerners, but not by southerners.
3- Western Dialects
Spoken in in-world Ettúr /ɛtˈtuːɻ/ [ətˈtuːɽ]. Speakers of these dialects tend to pronounce:
4- Northern Dialects
Spoken in in-world Ämma̋n /ɐmˈmæːn/ [(ʕ)ɐmˈmæːn]. Speakers of these dialects tend to pronounce:

The differing analyses of the Old English sequences /xe͜o xæ͜ɑ/ & /je͜o jæ͜ɑ/ when the change from /e͜o æ͜ɑ/ to /iɔ̯ iɐ̯/ was taking place led to:
For example, Old English heofon & geofon evolved into:

=ORTHOGRAPHY=

Gýsene uses the Arabic script natively alongside a romanization
==SCRIPT BACKGROUND==
Since Gýsen use of the Nabataean & then Arabic script preceded the Persians by centuries, the Gýsen Arabic script differs quite a bit from the Indo-Persian system:
  1. Rasm: Gýsens writing in Nabataean (& carrying over to Arabic) tended to follow Aramaic & Hebrew convention for representing consonants, while the Persian convention was derived from the most similar sounding preexisting Arabic consonants, leading to drastic differences in pointing convention (i‘jām). As Islam spread, the 2 conventions spread in their respective halves of the Muslim World: The Indo-Persian-Derived Eastern convention, and the Gýsen-Derived Western convention:
(Loose) Consonant ↓ Western ↓ Eastern ↓
//v// پ و⟫ ǀ ⟪ڤ
//// ڝ چ
//p// ڢ پ
//f// ڧ ف
  1. Vowel Notation: The western convention has a definitive way of expressing vowels when diacritics are fully written, while in the eastern convention diacritics often serve dual-duty due to limitations of Arabic short vowel diacritics.

=GRAMMAR=

Gýsen grammar is extremely divergent from the Germanic norm, having been brought about by extremely harsh standardization efforts by the ruling class while backed by academia & scholars. It's heavily influenced by Arabic — being the encompassing liturgical, academic, and aristocratic language during the Middle to Early Modern Gýsen periods.
==PRONOUNS==
\this entire segment will use the romanization only]) The Pronouns themselves have remained relatively true to their Germanic origins, apart from the entire set of Arabic 3rd person pronouns & the genitive enclitics. Gýsene still retains the Old English dual forms, but they're only used in formal writing:
1st Person Singular Dual Plural
Nominative ih // wi /wi/ wi /wi/
Accusative mih /miç/ án /ɑːn/ ós /oːs/
Standalone Genitive min /min/ ár /ɑːɣ/ ór /oːɹ/
Enclitic Genitive -min /-mɪn/ -ar /-ɐɣ/ -or /-ɔɹ/
2nd Person Singular Dual Plural
Nominative thách /θɑːx/ gi /ʝi/ gi /ʝi/
Accusative thih /θiç/ in /in/ iw /iw/
Standalone Genitive thin /θin/ ig // iwar /ˈiwɐɹ/
Enclitic Genitive -thin /-θɪn/ -ig /-ɪʝ/ -iwar /-ɪwɐɹ/
3rd Person Masculine Singular Dual Plural
Nominative chá /xɑː/ chama̋ /xɐˈmæː/ chám /xɑːm/
Accusative hin /çin/ chama̋ /xɐˈmæː/ chám /xɑːm/
Standalone Genitive his /çis/ chama̋ /xɐˈmæː/ chám /xɑːm/
Enclitic Genitive -his /-çɪs/ -chama /-xɐmɐ/ -cham /-xɐm/
3rd Person Feminine Singular Dual Plural
Nominative hi /çi/ chana̋ /xɐˈnæː/ chán /xɑːn/
Accusative hi /çi/ chana̋ /xɐˈnæː/ chán /xɑːn/
Standalone Genitive hir /çiɹ/ chana̋ /xɐˈnæː/ chán /xɑːn/
Enclitic Genitive -hir /-çɪɹ/ -chana /-xɐnɐ/ -chan /-xɐn/
==NOUNS==
Middle Gwýsene inherited the Old English nominal declension, but due to merging & reduction of (final) unstressed vowels, all endlings were dropped except for the accusative & dative plurals which were later generalized. Middle Gwýsene also dropped the neuter gender, merging it with the masculine & feminine genders based on endings
Regular Noun Declension Singular Plural
Masculine - -an /-ɐn/
Feminine - -as /-ɐs/
This has been standardized to all nouns, with some ablaut irregulars:
"Man" (man) ǀ "Bách" (book) Singular Plural
Masculine man /mɑn/ menan /ˈmenɐn/
Feminine bách /bɑːx/ bitjas /ˈbit͡ʃɐs/
...and some nouns retain colloquial plural forms more reminiscent of their Old English counterparts:
"Tjylz" (child) ǀ "Chänz" (hand) Singular (Standard) Plural (Common) Plural
Masculine tjylz /t͡ʃyɫz/ tjylzan /ˈt͡ʃyɫzɐn/ tjylro /ˈt͡ʃyɫɾɔ/
Feminine chänz /xænz/ chänzas /ˈxænzɐs/ chänza /ˈxænzɐ/
===Possession===
Gwýsene has two distinct methods of indicating possession dur to the dropping of the genitive case:
1. A loaned version of the Arabic construct state (present in the standard language, urban areas, and most of the Northern and Western dialects). the Arabic definite article (-الـ) was loaned with its use in the construct state into Late Early Modern Gwýsene as a separate "letter form" [-لٔـ] and prescribed by Grammarians ever since as a "genitive" maker. This method also assumes definiteness of the noun it's prefixed to; it must be prefixed to eneg ("any") for indefinite nouns.
Bách 'lgörel /bɑːχ‿ɫ̩ˈʝøɹɛɫ/ ("the boy's book")
bách 'l - görel book ɢᴇɴ.ᴅғ - boy
2. Use of a prefixed fär (equivalent to English "of", cognate with English "for") (present in rural areas and is generally viewed as a rural or "Bedouin" feature). This method does not assume definiteness, and a definite article is required.
Bách färth'görel /bɑːχ ˌfɐɹðəˈʝøɹɛɫ/ ("the boy's book")
Bách fär - th' - görel book of - ᴅғ - boy
==ADJECTIVES==
Much like Nouns, adjectives decline for number and gender:
Regular Adjective Declension Singular Plural
Masculine - -an /-ɐn/
Feminine -e //* -as /-ɐs/
\due to its similarity with the common adjectival suffix* -e*, adjectives derived that way would not decline for gender in the singular*
==VERBS==
Gwýsen verbs are the most mangled, both by Arabization and regular phonological development. Gwýsen word order is VSO. Due to pronouns coming after the verb, they merged with the preexisting endings and formed unique endings that were later generalized to standard verb declension (rendering Gwýsene a pro-drop language)

Most of the strong classes remain in Gwýsene, albeit with completely unorthodox ablaut patterns. They've been resorted based on pattern that I've Grammarians have found. Strong verbs also never need the past auxiliary.

2024.05.15 17:20 everyoneisflawed How do you all deal with pain at night?

It's nothing new, being in pain at night and not being able to sleep. But the last few months it's been more intense, and more frustrating. I have pain in my legs, knees, and hips mostly. It's better during the day but completely unbearable at night.
Here's what last night looked like for me, which is pretty typical lately:
10:30ish, bedtime routine. Brush teeth, pee, wash hands, take gabapentin, Plaquenil, and Norflex. Rub either Aspercreme or this THC infused lotion on my tender points, usually hips and knees. Go to bed.
11:00, can't sleep. Watch TikTok for a little while. Pee probably. Fall asleep.
11:30, wake up. My foot itches so badly and I can't ignore it. Scratch, possibly take off socks. Fall asleep.
12:00, wake up. My legs are in horrible pain. Take Advil. Fall asleep.
12:45, wake up. My legs are still hurting, and my legs itch. Stand up, possibly go find a cat to pet for a while. Fall asleep.
1:30, wake up. My legs and shoulders are hurting. Everything itches. My butt itches. Wake up husband to rub my back. Fall asleep.
1:45, wake up. Pain everywhere. Take Tylenol. Fall asleep.
2:30, wake super angry. Pain everywhere. This is where I sometimes go sleep on the futon or the couch, or take a quick shower. Last night I chose to shower. First with as warm of water as I can bear, using the removable showerhead to massage my muscles, then with as cold of water as I can bear to rinse off. Reapply Aspercreme. Go to bed. Fall asleep.
Sometimes this drags on until 4:00 am. I get up at 6:30. I'm really fed up with this. What am I supposed to do? We got a brand new mattress. I have a body pillow. I don't try to go to bed until I'm tired.
I probably could look at my phone less, but I can't imagine that looking at my phone would cause this level of drama.
What are you all doing about this? I can't go on like this. I need sleep. I can't take Benedryl or melatonin because I have a bad reaction with those. Sometimes I take a gummy, and that sometimes helps, but then I wake up really groggy.
Help. I can't even focus on work I'm so tired.

2024.05.15 17:19 surfcitysurfergirl Wow I’ve cried over episodes before but this one I’ve never seen from a long time ago regarding a Vijay Gupta a violinist who advocated and played for the homeless on skid row.

Having been homeless in my life after my divorce I know how much this means. Treating homeless like normal people and understanding not all homeless are drug addicts or whatever…sometimes like for me I didn’t make enough to live on for my kids and I and my state didn’t enforce child support like others. We ended up homeless with our dogs and a manager at a Dennys let us use their restroom, often gave us leftover food and let us use their water behind the building that was hot and cold. To this day I’m thankful for them. We ended up getting help from a homeless program that Tempe created and we were housed in a motel they bought to help people like me get back on their feet. Now I’m doing great and I do everything I can to go out and give food, water which is huge as I’m in Arizona and just talk to them. We have a great group that goes out with their laptops and sign people in need up for the things that will help them get out of the situation. I can tell you more than half aren’t addicts. More than half want to work but don’t know where to start and I cry watching this seeing how many they’ve helped in this episode and I hate that there are so many veterans homeless.

2024.05.15 17:18 HappyGoLacky Big Pots and Root Rots - Monstera Mythbusting

Apologies for posting a novella. I’ll probably get downvoted a lot for this post, but almost every every day I see one or more of these big pot comments in response to someones post. So here goes.
So the issue is much more involved than big pots. Healthy and appropriately sized roots are important to a well balanced monstera. There’s also a ton of other factors including, pot material, environment temperature, humidity, repotting stress, and so much more. I just wanted to address the “big pot” thing specifically. As I mentioned at the beginning, a monstera is pretty hardy as long as it’s treated well, but the more you know, the easier it is to make the right decisions for the plant. The good news is that everything I've addressed above, goes for pretty much all plants.
If you believe I've made any errors above, I'm happy to discuss or chat about it. Hope some of you find this helpful.
EDIT: edited for spelling.

2024.05.15 17:14 merthfbkyfjkbdr00 AITA for distancing myself from my best friend

I don't know why reddit keeps on removing my post🥲. Anyways I (21F) had a best friend (20F). Our love for each other drifted apart after a series of incidents. She was never satisfied with any of the gifts I gave her for her birthday. She never bought me anything ever for mine ( I know well relationships are not meant to be materialistic). Once she demanded I go to college for a class that I was not enrolled in to give her company. I travelled one hour to reach college, got a nosebleed, lost my way due to road work and she was mad at me for being a little late. She never stood up for me in any situation. Lately she started to copy everything I do. Similar makeup, clothes, hobbies, hair you name it. Once she wanted me to buy her a few clothes. After making me wander all around the city while videocalling her and showing her multiple clothes and wasting three hours of my day she decided she wasn't buying anything. Recently we decided to rent a house to work on a project. I was forced to do most of the chores while she would spend time in front of the mirror. One weekend I went to my home and she came along. She behaved rudely with everyone,treated my parents like servants and left her bloodied underwear in the laundry basket for my mom to wash ( I wouldn't care of she did it with me but no one in the world have right to treat my mom or dad like a servant). My mom told me to forget about that incident. My parents cooked her favourite meals, bought her clothes and adored her. But she was always complaining about something. She refused to take any suggestions I gave about project and always did it her own way despite of us both spending money on that.(She thought I should bear everything she does because apparently she told me about other friends harming me behind my back. I later found out that was also a lie). The breaking point for me was when she invited her fam to our rental home without asking me (it was a shi**y one tiny bedroom home). Her fam made themselves comfortable and showed zero hesitation in using my stuff without asking me. One day I came home early and found my bed stripped off bed covers being used as a platform to dry their underwears, her family members using my shoes ,pillows and other stuff ( I don't mind sharing my stuff but please ask my permission beforehand). She would take the food I ordered and give it to her fam without asking me. They would never spend a dime on anything and leach off me. One day when I was sleeping I woke up to one of her family members staring at me with cold dead eyes. We had a not pet policy imposed by the home owner. But they would constantly bring animals into home and I would get in trouble for that as the homeowner was my mom's friend. Homeowner questioned her why her fam was staying so long and told them to move out fast as the house couldn't accommodate too many people (she told her they would only stay for three days). She came home and screamed at me that I made the homeowner say that ( I was oblivious to the situation). One day I used an onion to make a dish that she and her fam finished while I only got to taste it .Next day she insisted I go and buy onions because I finished them while cooking. Not wanting to start a fight I agreed. It was me and my family who spended mostly for water, food etc:- . We never asked her to repay anything and that incident made me feel like an inconsiderate idiot who finished the last onion. I shortly moved out and out of kindness I left all the utensils, cooking appliances etc:- for her fam to use till they moved out( 95% of stuff in house were mine). After I moved out she and the owner got into a fight. She called me namecalling me saying it was my fault that they got into a fight and that I was an inconsiderate b for not adjusting with them and moving out. After that incident I blocked her on all socials. Next day I got texts from other friends saying to me I was inconsiderate for breaking up over something so petty. She gaslighted me in front of others and putted blame on my head. I don't have any siblings and I really thought I got one when I met her. I loved her enough to sacrifice lots of things for her and to put her above myself. I just wanted to keep her happy and for us to spend time together. Now everything seems to be my fault. I have been depressed for weeks. I can't seem to concentrate on anything. I have no tears left. I am an idiot who believed her. I should have known the day she refused to fetch me water when I was severely ill. My other friend seems to think I am the AH for not catering to her fam more( I repeat most of the expenses were taken care of by my family). After the incident she tried to contact me again but I kept a cold atitude the whole time AITA?

2024.05.15 17:07 gnassar Puppy breathing staggered - potential intestinal blockage?

Hello there,
There is some backstory to this that I couldn't figure out how to include in the title, please bear with me:
About 4 days ago we realized Watson was breathing very rapidly at rest. We live in a very cold place, it had just started warming up, and his coat is the longest it's ever been, so we assumed that he was just too hot (23-26 Celsius in some rooms of the house) and booked an appointment with the groomer to get him a trim.
He was still eating and drinking normally, urinating normally, gums were pink, I think he might have been having less bowel movements but I'm unsure because we brought him over to my girlfriend's parents for the better part of the two days after noticing this (and he roams their large backyard with their two dogs), so he might have had many or 0 bowel movements over there, I also felt his stomach and it felt normal. His behavior this whole time was mostly normal (maybe a little bit subdued, but I assumed it was because he was tired from hanging out with his uncles so much). For the sake of the timeline, this is all that happened the first 2 of 4 days (day 4 being today).
Yesterday around 5am he woke us up because he was trying to throw up. He heaved a few times, and nothing ended up coming up other than white foam. He seemed to recover quickly from this, and we went back to bed. I told my girlfriend that if he was still exhibiting any weird symptoms in the morning I would take him to the vet.
Woke up later that morning, and he seemed back to normal. His breathing had slowed down to a normal rate, he ate his breakfast, I took him on a walk in the morning and he was behaving totally normal. He also passed a "good" stool (firm, solid normal color) on our walk. We got home and I went to pick up old his stools from our yard (routine after a walk) when I noticed an unusual one (that had to have been within the last 24h, exactly when I'm not sure as we let him out often while we are getting ready for work/bed/otherwise unable to watch him).
The stool I found had a bunch of tape coiled up inside of it, which I remembered had been a loose strand of tape that was sitting on my desk that he must have pulled off and eaten (uncoiled, the kind of tape where you have to peel the bottom off to expose the sticky side). We hadn't had an issue with him eating things that aren't food in a long time so I let my guard down.
It all started making sense, I thought that he must have been in pain/discomfort from eating the tape which explained the heavy breathing for the couple of days until he passed it in his stool. Since he was mostly back to normal I thought nothing of it.
Starting last night and continuing to this morning I noticed that his breathing, although much slower and normal rate-wise, has changed to be a much deeper, staggered breathing. I don't know how to describe this other than staggered, maybe staged? He will inhale about 60% of the breath initially, then 30% more, then the last 10%. His mouth is closed while he's doing this (sleeping/resting the times that I have noticed it). Google has been woefully unhelpful in looking this up (probably because I have no idea what the kind of breathing is actually called)).
At this point I'm concerned that there is still some tape stuck in his guts somewhere. The piece that he ate was quite long, and I didn't extract/unravel it from inside his stool to see how much of it had come out there, but nor could I find any remnants of un-eaten tape anywhere. Is this kind of seemingly labored breathing characteristic of a blockage, and should I be concerned?
I'm hesitant to go to the vet right away because
A. I've taken Watson there probably 10 times for minor issues, every time I have they do the exact same checks that I mentioned above (feel his stomach, check gums, behaviour, eating and bowel regularity) and then send us off almost with an air of like "you guys need to relax he will be fine"
B. With the above in mind, it isn't exactly cheap
Reasons I think he does not have a blockage: -His most recent stool was a good one -His eating habits are the same -His behavior is normal
Reasons I think he might still have a blockage: -His breathing?? Not sure if this is indicative of anything because as I mentioned, google no help this -The timeline of his dry-heaving in the morning doesn't add up for me. I don't know for sure, but I'm pretty positive that the stool with the tape in it happened the night before the dry-heaving, so why would he dry-heave if the blockage had already been excreted. He has not tried to throw up, or anything similar since. -He has always coughed more than your average dog (he loves eating quickly and then chasing that down with big gulps of water), but he has been coughing a bit "deeper" this last day or so? This could be me worrying, but thought I would mention
Looking for advice on what to do, and if these symptoms are indicative of anything or if I'm just being my normal hypochondriac self :/
Thank you for your time.
