Black IOTV- $500
Size: Small. This carrier was dyed black by me. It was originally green UCP like the other carrier for sale. Currently has the mentioned plates installed (CATI steel lvl 3) It's a tight fit so it's hard to get them out. Soft armor inserts are also installed.
Green UCP IOTV- $400
Size: Large. Carrier comes equipped with soft armor inserts, groin protector and lower back protector. Seems to be very lightly used. The green on the UCP is an odd shade. Darker than what I usually see.

Hello everyone, I am currently building myself a kit and I've collected everything but the vest.
I have been scanning Ebay and other websites, looking for someone who would be selling a Gen 3 or Gen 4 IOTV.
I even contacted Point Blank, J-TECH and other companies who produced the IOTV along with companies that made custom plate carriers.
J-TECH has discontinued all IOTVs, Point Blank's sale rep seems to have disappeared into thin air as I got no response and it's pretty much the same for everybody else.
I even posted this question on other subs and asked around my local surplus stores and airsoft stores but no luck either.
I'm willing to put 2'000 CHF max (2147.48 $) in for the vest (shipping included) so price isn't that much of an issue, I'm not interested in the plates or any of its bulletproof properties.
I strictly plan on using it for the impression kit and for airsoft.
Now here comes what I think to be the reason why I feel like I'm on hardcore difficulty in terms of finding one, I live in Switzerland.
Please I really want to finish my outfit.
Side note, I'm taking any advice concerning things to know about a us army kit.

Got issued a medium iotv and armor esapi plate then sized down to Small MSV and armor esapi plate from RFI, I never had any comfort issues with the plates the US army issues to soldiers, anyone know where I might find them for sale?

bought this to make an aug 9mm platform but ended up using my olive stock instead. Because of this it is basically new, about 100 rounds put through it at most. cosmetically i changed the outer barrel to something skinnier (its pretty tight on there) and switched the upper rail to a metal one instead of the included plastic. also includes the stock hicap and three king arms midcaps, Ill pay for shipping but can also do local pickup (78717), and yes the button and sticker are included. will take 275 for it as well if anyone is on the fence

I'm in the natty guard and currently deployed. I wanted to know what the reg is on plate carriers cause I got issued an iotv three years ago and that is ACU pattern. My FLC and the rest of shit is also the ACU pattern too. Natty guard doesn't have money for the current multicam everyone has. But I see people all over wearing random ass plate carriers and they all look different. But before I buy anything I wanna know if there are regs on em. I'm looking at one on Amazon for sale at $89.00. It's cheap and I can also use it all the time when I get back to the states.
UPDATE: I appreciate the people telling me $89 gear is a no go, and that it is not worth it. But as far as the reg for it, it's essentially under commander discretion.

Howdy, y'all. I have for sale two items that, while of a very high quality, just aren't for me.
First up is a First Spear Strandhogg MBAV in Multicam. Accommodates large ESAPIs with ease and has one of the most insanely fast doffing features in a carrier. If anyone ever pulled the cord on your IOTV, you'll know what I mean. Cummerbund features integrated side plate pouches, and velcro attachment points for stuff like KYWIs and the like. Comes with a set of First Spear double mag pouches in the front. Has some wear on the shoulder straps, particularly the webbing cover, but everything is still solid and free of any other noticeable wear. $425 shipped. If you're some kind of weirdo that wants to buy new shoulder straps, I have a very motivated buyer for them, but I'd honestly prefer to sell together. Plates in picture not included, just installed to give volume to the carrier.

I work in a decently-paying job, have been married for one year, and have a bachelor’s in Finance.
I’m 30 years old and will soon be receiving my green card. Since June, I have felt a call to serve this country and am soon beginning to train to prepare myself for a late-2021 enlistment (Can’t commission until I become a US citizen).
I read a lot here from people that believe that older guys who are “set” career-wise shouldn’t bother entering the Army, that it’s a marriage-killer and thankless life, and that people who join out of patriotism are naïve.
Have any of you ever met someone that joined in similar circumstances and didn’t live to regret it?

Will I get to go home to get any amount of personal belongings between BCT and AIT if AIT is 6 months for me? I know shorter AIT and OSUT don't let you but I remember reading about someone saying they get to move their spouse with them if AIT is long enough? Since I'm single, personal belongings would mean stuff like my car, not my wife of course.

I’m about to be rejoining the Army after getting a general discharge for failure to adapt. The recruiters said I should be looking A-okay to rejoin but I will most likely not get to pick my MOS this time, which I am TOTALLY okay with. I just want to make it this time.
My only question is, if I am forced to become a Cook, would I be able to become a Drill Sergeant while under that MOS?
This will be my second time going through basic training, and I am expecting to do as well as I can on what ever I can in order to make my career look it’s best for when I eventually go back the civilian world.

Should I aim to to join the 160th SOAR? I’m a high school senior who’s enlisting as a 15T (helicopter mechanic) in the spring once I graduate and I’m wondering if I should make it a goal to join the 160th in the future.
The reason I ask this is because I’m a girl and I’m worried about what the culture is like. I know that women are allowed to join the 160th but I’m assuming that it’s still pretty male-dominated even more so than a regular army unit. And because it’s so male-dominated, in addition to being a special ops force, I’m just wary about having to deal with way more toxicity/sexism than I can handle(not to imply that all men are sexist). Could anyone share their insight? Is toxicity towards females a thing and if it is should I join despite it? Would I have to deal with toxicity even if I work to pass all my PT tests and do my job correctly?

What's the current body fat percentage requirement for enlisting? I'm getting conflicting answers from my recruiter vs what I'm seeing on the goarmy website. Last time I checked, I was either 6'0" or 6'1", but my recruiter has me at 5'10", and is telling me I need to hit 24% body fat (I'm at 26% currently). He's telling me there's a program I can join where if I'm over the body fat percentage by 2%, I can still enlist, but it would be as Army needs, and it just doesn't seem like I'm being told all the correct information.
Also, I want to enlist as 17C, however I'm aware that it's difficult to get into. Realistically, I would just like to get a job in the security field in the civilian world once I get out, so I figured 17C or maybe something like 25B would suit me. I also have a list of some other jobs that I might like if those aren't available, however, what are the chances that 17C and 25B are open atm?
This is my backup list: 88M, 36B, 15Y, 35T, 94F, 94E
Are these jobs hard to get into? I'm just not wanting to try and enlist and get stuck as infantry, which is what my recruiter told me is a likely possibility if I don't hit the body fat percentage (I also can't find any information about the 2% body fat program or w/e)

When does the "years of service" counter start when commissioning out of ROTC? I am a fresh LT, no prior service/SMP but MyPay shows me having 3 years of service. I'm almost certain cadet time is worth absolutely nothing (as it should, in regards to pay). If I ignore this will it continue to climb or is there a risk of someone noticing and having to pay back Uncle Sam?

Does anyone know if they allow trainees to request/send out absentee ballots from basic training/AIT? Shipping soon and can't seem to find an answer to this.
I thought I remembered there being officers/NCOs that specifically handle soldier voting needs, but I wasn't sure if they applied to basic training recruits or if they were available with covid causing trouble/quarantines, and such.
Asked my recruiter and he just said to ask the Drill Sergeants when I'm there.

My current MOS is 19D, and apparently undermanned. By the time my ability to re-enlist comes, will I struggle with reclassing AND changing duty stations?

I’m really curious about the 37F MOS (Psychological Operations Specialist), but I haven’t been able to find much information apart from the Army website. I’m interested in possibly pursuing this as a career and would like to hear from someone with firsthand experience. My ASVAB score was 88 (a bit rusty on mathematics) , and I took the DLAB 2 years ago and scored a 98 if I’m not mistaken. Thanks in advance

I am a Reservist with orders for Cyber BOLC so I am preparing for a PCS move. I saw on mymilitarybenefits website that NG/Reservists may or may not be eligible to use Army funded resources for PCS and to refer to my orders. What do I need to look for to know if I am eligible or not? Also, my orders do not say PCS, just wondering if that will have any effect on anything.

Fuck man I’m re-enlisting in the Guard Thursday. My dumbass can’t find my original birth certificate (I have like 600 copies though) and my question is for MEPS does it have to be the original? I have like 600 copies from my mobilization to Kuwait two years ago but I can’t find my original anywhere. I have literally every other document neatly filed in my safe but I can’t find my original fucking birth certificate. My parents are looking to see if they have it, but I don’t think they do. The MOS I want only has one open slot in my state and it’s only reserved until the day after I’m scheduled for MEPS. Do I need the original copy? I can get an official copy but I’m afraid it won’t arrive in time.
TLDR-Do I need my original birth certificate for MEPS or is a copy given to me by the Army okay?

I’m waiting to look at jobs with my recruiter and after some research I decided to pursue the 35L counterintelligence agent MOS. However, I’ve always been interested in the 37F Psy ops field, but worried about ending up as needs of the Army if something didn’t work out. Would it be worth it though picking 37F if it was open? Or would it be safer to pick 35L and later apply for Psy ops? I’d be joining as a E-4 and have a bachelors in psych. I would say I’m in okay shape but definitely wouldn’t stand out in my current state; I consider myself to have a never quit attitude though and work well with others. I’m also scared of heights and the “stomach drop” sensation though, which worries me for something like Airborne, though people who have done it have told me it doesn’t produce either of these sensations. Sorry if these are all stupid questions just trying to make the most informed decision.

How strict are they on the finances? I'm enlisted and shipping but I'm taking a huge pay cut, and right now, to pay mortgage and Bill's and everything going in as an e2 is pretty much 100% of that pay. But I plan on selling my car as soon as I get my bonus, and my wife makes a bit over 1200 a month.

Hi I enlisted as a 68K and I have some questions in regards to AIT during covid. I know that the MOS is long with 52 weeks of training, Phase 1 in Ft. Sam and Phase 2 in a hospital facility. With such a long training, do we get weekend passes even during covid? Thank you in advance. I also live in Hawaii so I would like to choose Hawaii for my Phase 2. Any tips on how I can increase my chances?

My husband is Fresh out of Chem BOLC. How bad is an assignment with a FA unit in Germany? Will this hinder career progression? Is it still possible to get PL time in an FA unit? If so, will it even help in anyway considering it isn't a chem unit?
Also what are the odds of getting sent to Ranger school from Germany?

I have an RE Code 3 and only 8 months AD service. Looking at the PS business rules, "Applicants in the grade of E-4 and below with 48 months or less active duty are not restricted to the HRC business rules, therefore authorized to enlist Option 3 (Training of Choice)." What does this mean? Is this like picking an MOS in the office or is the list still populated at MEPS with undermanned jobs? The rules also mention over 179 active service so maybe there is a caveat to this training of choice?

Can an active duty soldier get in trouble for driving on an expired license during these times, seeing as though the soldier is unable to get a Texas-DMV appointment until after he starts his terminal leave?

I'm a little split-ops baby who's almost six weeks out of BCT and already worrying my ass off about AIT.
I'm a (future) 13b. Everyone keeps on psyching me out about how hard my AIT is gonna be, since I'm an eighteen-year-old female, and the job requires heavy lifting that females are at a biological disadvantage for.
Could anyone give me like a rundown of all the stuff I'm gonna have to pass? I've been hitting the gym every day, powerlifting and doing pushups and any weight-bearing exercise I can think of, but I'd like to know what I should specifically be preparing myself for. I've got at least nine months to get ready, and I sure as hell ain't procrastinating.

I'm currently almost 4 years into the Army, serving a 6 year contract after I finished my first 3 year contract in 2019. I do not want to leave the Army at all, but I'm rethinking my current MOS (11B). I don't hate it, but I might want to do something different in line with my actual career since I'm only in the National Guard. I'm not the best soldier in the company, but I do my job as an infantryman and I don't have any flags or anything like that which would be a negative. How hard is it for me to switch MOS mid-contract? Is it even possible?
I've had the whole infantry experience (as much as I can as NG), gotten a CIB, just looking for something new maybe. I don't see infantry being useful anywhere else in civilian life, so I'm curious.

Hey! I’m joining to be a 68W and was told that instead of losing weight to meet the 163lb max, I should just workout and gain muscle instead because of the new pt tests that they have. Should I just continue my plan to slim down to about 160 until I finish meps and then start working out with heavier weights, or should I just start doing the heavy weights now?

I’m enlisting as AD, I have two years of college, and I heard about the Green To Gold (G2G) program. I was wondering if anyone had any information on the program. Exactly what it is, what you’ll be doing. Do you still get paid, how much, etc. I have a wife and two kids, and want to make sure my pay will still be squared away. I got an honorable discharge from the Airforce back in February for not showing up to the PRE-basic training I thought was optional.. yea, never even went to basic training and got the boot. That's the Airforce, and why I'm in this Reddit asking my stupid question instead.
I haven't received my papers that the Army says I need, and the Airforce is still sending me surveys and crap. Did covid set them back that far?? My experience with the army was logistical hell without covid so I could see the Airforce could be having issues. I tried calling the recruiting base where I was "stationed" as well as emailing the Tsgt in charge of the pre-basic trainings. No answers or return calls.
I just wanna go to summer camp and get all hot and sandy in Georgia, damnit.

How fast should one expect to rank up as a 13R on a four year contract, given they aren’t being stupid and handicapping themselves from a promotion? I’m expecting to end off my first contract as a PFC or SPC, but I’ve been curious since 13R appears to be in pretty low density, given the incentives to list as one, and from what I’m aware, lower density MOS’s rank up at a typically quicker pace. I tried asking my DS’s in basic, but they weren’t sure. I just got to my AIT last night, but I won’t have a chance to ask any AIT DS’s or cadre until Monday, so I’m asking you guys for a quicker answer. Thanks!

How much of a pain in the ass is it to DX gear? I just got back from JRTC, and just now noticed my iotv has a shit ton of tears in it, notably in the area where it stores my one plate.
I've never dxed gear, but heard the civilians are dickheads about it.

I have about 3 months till I'm going to WOCS to be a flying warrant. I'm doing an online course on technical writing between now and then. Is there anything else I can do to help me prepare for WOCS and WOBC?

So I have a question I am a prior service national guardsmen going active duty however I was not told that I was placed into a program called active first so I have no idea about any benefits for staying active or going back to the guard. As far as I knew I would do my forst contract and be placed in irr for the remainder of the contract such as 4 on 4 off but now im being told it would be either 8 active or 4 active and 4 guard please help i have no idea wha y this program is about what so ever do any help is appreciated.

Does anyone have experience with ADHD waivers? Was wondering about the acceptance rate of them and the chances of a waiver for someone who has been off ADHD meds for 2 years+ in addition to no IEP and decent grades. Thanks!

Hey everyone, I'm a senior in college this year and recently decided I want to serve in the Army in some way when I graduate. I was looking go in as a 68w combat medic with the goals of working as either a paramedic, or getting further schooling for a DPT degree in the future. The thing I'm stuck on right now is whether I should join the national guard or go full time active duty in the army. To clarify, I want to join to get hands-on medical experience and learn to work in a fast paced environment. I don't necessarily care about rank or pay, but education benefits (loan payment, tuition assistance) are important to me. I have two questions:
1) What are the benefits/drawbacks of going active duty 68w vs. part time in the Guard?
2) If I try to go in as an Medical Corps Officer, will I actually get hands on experience treating injuries, or is that just more of a Manager position for Healthcare workers?
If anyone here is currently a 68w I'd really like to hear what your experience is like. Thank you in advance 👊🏽🇺🇸

What’s the deal with MOS 25V? Is it going to be available in the foreseeable future? Is it being phased out? I’m interested in this or 46S. Lean more towards 25V though. I’ve read that it is over strength due to some sort of glitch in the recruiting system a year or so back, then i’ve also heard that it’s being phased out and rolled into 46 series.

Hi all, I graduated with an bachelors degree in engineering several months ago and decided I may want to join the army. Now, I'm wondering how can I use my degree in the army? I hear that you can you can use it to become an officer but am I guaranteed admission into the Officer Candidate School or do I have to apply after basic training? Also do I have to take the ASVAB also? Thanks.

I read on the duty station megathread that a couple of 42A got stationed at Molesworth, UK. My SO is in the UK so I am hoping to get stationed there or nearby, does anyone know if there are any 27A in that area? And what to do/how to convince the detailer to get me there?

When service members leave service they often have unaccounted for gear, or gear they couldn't find and paid for and then list for sale to recoup money. This means you can buy a gen3 IOTV for like 100 bucks with the soft armor installed. For plates I suggest looking on Armslist or Craigslist near military installations, they can be had but often times they don't list them on Facebook.

ARES Tavor, this is the old model that came out right after the original with the MARS sight. It shoots wonderfully and is wired to small tamiya. Was serviced by Zshot about 2 years ago for a tune up and I think they replaced the wiring with a new set. $280
CYMA 74u, this is in rough shape externally but shoots great. The threads for the barrel have snapped off and the faux charging handle is gone. The selector switch is loose but has always stayed on the setting I put it on when I used it. All metal and real wood, paracord wrapped stock, great Mad Max/Apocalypse gun. $60

Italian(maybe German?) winter mittens, great big ol' mittens, super warm and have trigger fingers. Apparently Italians are aliens though as the trigger fingers are on the top of the mitten so they're super awkward to use. $5
Slovakian M97 woodland camo jackets. Super neat jackets with mag pouches and lots of pockets and velcro, size large. 2 available, $10 each
Rothco M81 woodland BDU jacket, missing one pocket I think on the bottom front. Size medium regular, never actually used. $8
Super cool Czech needle camo parka/jacket. A nice big jacket with a neat pattern. Similar to East German raindrop camo but more green and when viewed under NODs the needle pattern disappears and you see the more traditional blotch pattern underneath. $15
Italian police dress pants/chinos. Size ~37, nice pants for office jobs, dressing up, etc. $10
Slovakian military dress pants. Probably for parades and what not. Medium size, again good for office wear, dressing up, etc. $10
Swiss Alpenflage camo bib pants. Built in suspenders, rubberized knees, lots of pockets and straps. Size large short. $10
British night camo set. This is overdyed desert DPM that's been dyed black. I've seen some say this is something done in the field and some say that this was factory done. The Brits have dyed lots of their uniforms so I have no doubt this is authentic. Shirt is Medium short, pants are medium regular. $20 each or $35 for the set.

Eagle Industries AOR1 mag pouch with kydex. The adhesive on the kydex has dried up but that's an easy fix. $22
