2024.05.28 00:03 Human_Attempt5536 Elizabeth/Circus Baby Rewrite for an Alternate Take of mine
Before I begin, I know this subreddit is full of people who will leak your address and burn down your house for having a different interpretation of the story than the commonly accepted one.
This is an alternate take/universe on the story we know. This is how I'd personally take Elizabeth/Baby's character for MY version of the story.
With that said, let me begin:
Elizabeth's Tragedy
Elizabeth is a 5-year-old girl who is unfortunately living in a neglectful household. She looks up to her father– as he is the only parental figure in the house– and idolizes him, as any kid would. She just desires to make him proud, to be deserving of love. She notices his obsession with a specific doll. It's not a normal one, though. This one is the size of an adult woman, standing tall and great in height, and it was hidden in William's workshop. She uncovered the robot, and then... She was snatched. William wasn't ready for something like this to happen.
She was crushed inside that suit, her bones broken and her lungs torn apart. She held a grudge against Afton, the man she called her father who left her to rot inside of that suit. He saw her as another opportunity, another experiment, and didn't care for her loss. She grew a hatred towards Afton, and when she saw Michael coming back to the storage facility which she had been locked away in, she had a plan. She was going to make her father, or at least, who she thought was her father, pay for what she had done to her. She was gonna make him suffer the same fate, living in a body not his own, being puppeted by someone else. Instead of being puppeted by an AI, it would be by several angry spirits hungry for vengeance.
But then, the plan fails. Michael escapes alive and Ennard is left without a host. But Michael left with something important. That.. that chip. Henry had installed that chip in the Ella doll- which William had refurbished into Circus Baby- with a developmental AI with the ability to think on its own. It could come up with a series of automated responses, and it could mimic whatever it saw. That AI was ingrained in the chip, and for years Elizabeth struggled to take full control of Baby when there was essentially another person with a mind of its own that already took control.
But when Michael removed that chip from Baby, Elizabeth regained full control. She could manage the doll like a puppet, and she set her plan in motion to become Ennard. This failed of course, as I previously mentioned, and now, Elizabeth is stuck with a hoard of angry and violent spirits.
The events of the Fourth Closet happen by this point, before FNAF 3. Now, the story is rewritten slightly. Elizabeth roams the streets as Eleanor, and she encounters Afton, now in Springtrap, who was living in the shadows and stalking the town of Utah. Elizabeth sees that her father has already been punished– locked and trapped in a suit and suffering the same pain that his victims had to go through.
Now.. she has who she wants by her side but.. what's the point anymore? He's not deserving of death, that's too good for him, but.. he's already been punished. Elizabeth, both as Baby and Elizabeth, has been neglected and left without a purpose for over a decade. Now is her chance, her opportunity to finally please her father like she had always wanted to.
She serves him for his evil deeds, but she doesn't embrace them. She just wants to make her father proud. Her self-worth is in the pits, so what else could she do? She fights for the lesser of two evils. But then, something happens.
Afton goes back to Henry's run-down, ruined house to find out how possession truly works- he wants to keep feeding off more and more human pain, fueled by the agony of the innocent. Henry was where it all began, after all. His suits were the ones which were possessed and moved around on their own- with their own thoughts. Afton's monstrosities were a blend of fueling rage and insane anger. Afton goes off to confront the Puppet, only to find that the Box in which the Puppet resided was empty. Afton decides to begin killing random victims on the street and try his best to replicate the MCI by making them possess inanimate objects.
While this happens, Baby is left with the kidnapped Jessica. Jessica, to this point, was depicted as almost the Daphne of the group. The stereotypical damsel in distress which always needed help from the strong ones. But in the twisted ones, Jessica proved herself to be perfectly capable of protecting herself and helping her friends as much as her friends helped her. Jessica knows what it's like to be seen as less, to be misunderstood as someone who will never be enough, this is why she is the perfect one to prove to Elizabeth that she doesn't have to prove herself to ANYONE to be worthy of love.
Jessica helps Elizabeth release the pain, the agony, (this would lead into how "Eleanor" exists during Frights) and when the confrontation against Afton arises, Elizabeth helps the others take down her father, being burnt slightly in the process, but surviving.
By FNAF 3/6, Circus Baby's arc has been fulfilled. She's been able to feel worthy of love, she's proven herself to someone– not to her father, but to herself. Her goal is fulfilled and now that she's stuck in this attraction, she lets herself burn, and her soul is freed into the Happiest Day.

2024.05.27 18:15 Your_Avg_Viewer Excellent Movies for Deconstruction
I'm a big movie guy (
letterboxd) and as I've been deconstructing I've noticed a lot of films have helped shift my paradigm. This isn't a comprehensive list because it's just movies I've watched recently. Here are a few, I'd love to hear some of yours as well.
First Reformed (2017): For me, this film captured the film of loneliness and crisis of purpose that comes from dealing with faltering faith. Ethan Hawke plays a protestant pastor who begins to question whether God can forgive us for the damage we're doing to the planet.
There Will Be Blood (2007): Puts religious zealotism in an interesting light. Shows the gaslighting, greed, and lies that churches can be built upon. Made me ponder how the early church might have looked before it became a carefully crafted corporate entity.
Sausage Party (2016): This movie was surprisingly riddled with themes of God, the stories and myths we create about our truth paradigms, and the deconstruction of one's perception of the meaning of life and death.
Birth (2004): a controversial and lesser-known film, but got me pondering about the immense power that belief has to convince ourselves and make decisions that don't align with our moral compass. Stars Nicole Kidman and is directed by Jonathon Glazer who just did The Zone of Interest. *trigger warning as this film deals with romantic involvement between adults and minors.
Dune Part 1 (2021) and
Part 2 (2024): I expect most people in the subreddit to understand why but for those who don't the entire book was written to be a warning of following charismatic leaders claiming Messianic ability. It highlights the ulterior motives that organizations have in prophesying and establishing missionary doctrines.
The Truman Show (1998): also maybe obvious but I found myself comparing Truman's manufactured and tediously crafted life to my own. Truman is known for being positive and bubbly as saints sometimes are expected to be, but his true personality starts to come through as he learns the truth. For Truman, it feels like many are watching and expecting him to behave a certain way and he takes courage to leave his bubble and pursue his own path.
Frailty (2001): A religious zealot believes he has been called by God to murder certain people possessed by demons. It related to my deconstruction because of the themes of conviction, one man claiming communication from God and then leading his family in it, etc. And then it's just a really underrated and overlooked film that you should check out with a good twist and Matthew McConaughey.
The Last Temptation of Christ (1988): This movie was boycotted when it came out which is a shame because it's a really touching exploration of Christ. It doesn't up-end faith as many people believe, it instead humanizes Jesus and makes us empathize with him and his struggles with the flesh. For me it was nice to see a spin on the Christ narrative to remember that the Church doesn't own the story and other interpretations can be made of it.
Nine days (2020): A hidden gem that I highly encourage you to seek out. It's a very spiritual film about a God-like figure who watches over people having an experience on Earth. When one of them dies he has a chance to interview nine souls to have a chance at life. There's a lot of overlap with Mormon conception of the premortal world, as well as life after death. I'm obsessed with this movie and I hope at least one of you watches it and messages me.
The Whale (2022): (other Darren Aronofsky movies like
Mother! and
The Fountain may also resonate deeply for some of you). Brendan Fraser's character deals with immense depression and self-destructive tendencies and (while trying to avoid spoilers) you find out that some of the cause is from religious disdain for his homosexual relationship. A Christian missionary is also a key character in the film. Potentially triggering movie for some people, so proceed with caution, but there is a lot of beauty to be found in it as well.
The Chosen: It's a well-done show that was very important to me as a believer. Now, I recognize that the existence and acclaim of the chosen highlights that this narrative is potentially just a really captivating and interesting story. It has stood the test of time and resonates with many people but doesn't necessarily have to be true.
Suspiria: both the 2018 remake and the 1977 original. They're about a secret cult under the guise of a dance school. Make of that what you will, and look up other cult movies like Midsommar, and Rosemary's Baby to watch if you want. I'm a person who is more hesitant to call the church a cult, but I related to some of the two-faced interactions, the Potemkin village facade, and the extreme conviction to be seen in these types of movies.
The VVitch (2015): Got me pondering about the necessity for people before the industrial revolution to believe in God. They couldn't explain anything including why their crops failed or why the weather was bad, and the answer must have been demons witches etc. Sad to see the family be pushed out by their own faith and then later on persecute their own family members based on their faith.
Silence (2016): A film that reflects on the silence of God while his people are persecuted in his name. Again, doesn't make a definitive stance on the veracity of Christian truth claims, but explores with depth some difficult subject matter related to it, including zealotism, discipline/obedience, persecution, colonialism, etc.
Beginners (2010): A deeply melancholic and slow-burning film that balances the Nuance of Hope and despair. Starring Ewan McGregor. For those hurt by the church's stance on LGBTQ+, there are a lot of complex feelings explored as the main character's dad comes out as gay following his mother's death.
The Zone of Interest (2023): Watching a concentration camp general and his family go about life as normal while performing such atrocities was deeply disturbing. The thought that kept occurring to me was that God's silence during this time was incredibly loud.
Poor Things (2023): Rebirth, looking at life through a new lens, discovering yourself.
The Worst Person in the World (2021): to put it simply, a young woman navigates the complexities of her changing identity as she tries to discover who she is. I related to a lot of the fears and anxieties and self-shaming that came from stepping out of my previous identity and stumbling through life's choices.
Perfect Days (2023): a film that gives a differing view of how fulfilling life can be lived. The movie is Zen embodied, it shows the simplicity and tranquility that can come from appreciating the small things in life and living in the moment. Also researching it in tandem with "Komorebi" taught me some profound truths about life.
Constantine (2005): just a badass movie that's more fun if you've been a believer because of how it spins the lore of Christianity/heaven
Hazbin Hotel (2019): similarly a series particularly impactful if you believed in the Judeo-Christian framing of God, heaven, and the creation story. It's very irreverent and crass, which is incredibly entertaining and scratches an itch. It also highlights some major flaws in the plan of salvation.
Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret. (2023): In contrast to the prior recommendation, this is a very wholesome movie that takes an innocent, child-like perspective on God and religion. It uncovers some profound themes about interfaith marriages and faith questions that many of us will relate to.
SLC Punk! (1998): not one of my favorites, but I know that some people here will enjoy it quite a bit. Fun to see Utah culture explored without a sacred agenda.
The Exorcist (1973): I had avoided this for a long time because I was terrified of the little girl's face because of the scary maze game iykyk. When I watched it, I found it less of a horror movie and more of a profound drama about desperation and suffering. Another movie that I think is richer for having gone through a faith journey.
Saint Maud (2019): another horror movie revolving around religious conversion, dogmatism, gaslighting, and judgment.
Add these to your watchlist for when they come out (I saw them at Sundance)
Ghostlight (2024): seriously one of the best movies I've ever seen about processing grief. Not particularly related to religion, but it does touch on family themes, loss, and compassion towards oneself while grieving— all things I think are really relevant to this subreddit.
A Real Pain (2024): Jesse Eisenberg directs a touching movie starring him and Kieran Culkin about a pair of estranged cousins heading to Poland to connect with their grandma's Jewish roots and explore the tragedies of the Holocaust. There were a lot of existential themes going on here, a lot of shame and guilt, and shaky familial bonds being explored. Some genealogy and family history themes but not from the perspective of believing members which is interesting to watch.
Krazy House (2024): Received some mixed reception but this is a horror-satire, fever dream, over-the-top type shitpost of a movie. Satirizes the conventional family as well as family sitcoms from the white picket fence American dream era. Very very irreverent towards Christianity, perhaps some of the most sacrilegious imagery I've ever seen so proceed with caution.
I apologize if some of these don't seem as relevant to you when you're watching them, I've been tending to view a lot of these through the lens of my deconstruction so it might not seem to apply as much when you watch them.
I'm leaving out more obviously related to Mormonism things like keep sweet pray and obey, under the banner of heaven or Murder among the Mormons but would still love to hear your experiences about them and other shows or movies that you related to your gospel experience...

2024.05.26 23:27 GloomyGazelle9072 my friend is in psychosis and cut me off
one of my best friends cut me off a few days ago. Her birth mom is schizophrenic and my friend (let's call her Pearl) has had episodes in the past. I've known her for years now, and every episode she cuts me off for a number of months until we reunite again. As we've gotten older, she's gotten worse health-wise.
Pearl has never been formerly diagnosed as schizophrenic because she is scared of ending up like her mother, who she doesn't have a relationship with. To be fair, her birth mom has also done a lot of meth so her sanity is a bit deteriorated. Pearl's been diagnosed with a number of things including bipolar, possible bpd, possible ASD, ADHD, possible schizo-effective, etc. I believe now that doctors have been missing the mark and failing her.
The last time she had an episode this bad was a couple years ago. We got into a huge fight because I asked her why she wasn't talking to me as much. At the time, we were still in college and in different cities so we had to put effort into staying in contact. But suddenly she just wasn't talking to me and seemed to not care. It started out as a calm conversation then escalated. She ended up blowing up and just being cruel and uncharacteristic and we didn't speak for 9 months.
When she finally reached back out, we had both moved back home and she contacted me. At the time, she apologized and then started telling me how she could control the weather, that she met Oprah, that voices were telling her what direction to drive in, etc. I thought maybe if it's bipolar, she was having a mania induced psychosis? I also wondered if it was schizophrenia at the time. And this was following her being on Adderall and other substances for a while and then stopping cold turkey after we stopped talking.
Anyway, she eventually came back to reality and we just put it behind us and rekindled our friendship as we always do after she has an episode. This time, I feel pretty confident it's schizophrenia. But, I only know as much as I can Google and would love some insight.
It started slowly and then it was like a runaway train. Pearl got back on Adderall a few months ago. She's on a lot of different medications (none of which I believe are helpful). At the time I was only worried about her heart because she's had issues with it in the past. I had no idea it might affect her mind. Slowly, she began to tell me about visions and signs. We are both spiritual, and I'm pretty openminded so I didn't judge her, it seemed tame enough at the time. I don't know if I'm a believer anymore after all this.
Then, came the hallucinations. Pearl was seeing entities, but she called them ghosts. According to her, sometimes her bed would shake. Or things would fly out of her closet. Then, she started telling me the demon was back. She named it something but she treated the name so sacredly it almost feels wrong to type it out, so we'll call the demon Saturn.
Pearl believed that Saturn (who she had mentioned a couple years ago in her last episode) had returned. I should have taken that as a sign, I wish I had. She believed that Saturn possessed different people for short amounts of time to watch her and smile at her. That Saturn was chasing her and getting closer. Then, she claimed doors were shutting and being held by entities and she watched objects float. Her physical health was crumbling. She couldn't keep food down.
Then, the voices came back. That's when I started getting more concerned and wondered what to do because I was scared to make her feel invalided or 'crazy' if I shot down these claims. I tried to be gentle and ask questions to see if I could help her second guess things. She was so adamant it was real. I witnessed her talking to the voices in real time and listening to what they instructed her to do.
Pearl texted me one night at 3 AM saying the man outside her window that whistles every night was following her through the walls now. She called me another time and said a car behind her vanished into thin air and that it meant her late father was contacting her again. She had convinced me that a good friend of mine was secretly doing hard drugs and all these other claims. I still don't know why i trusted her judgement.
Then, one night after I had a very hard day with my own wellbeing, after she stopped talking to me for a few days, I reached out to her. She said that because I didn't answer her texts a few days prior when I was dealing with my health (which she was fully aware of because we spent time together that day and I was a wreck) she no longer considered me a friend. I was so confused. I had been messaging her checking up on her and letting her know I cared, but suddenly she was being cutthroat because I missed a couple texts from a while ago when I had a bad day.
I was so confused and then the conversation turned into how I was no longer credible, that I was a liar, that I was a bullshitter, and all these other claims. I tried to ask her what she was talking about and she refused to explain. It's not about the texts anymore, it's about you, she said. And then that was it, I agreed to leave her alone.
I mulled over it for a bit, shocked and confused. Then it all clicked - another episode, another cutoff. I believe the Adderall jumped started it. Assuming she follows the pattern, I'll hear from her in a few months and hopefully she'll be back in reality.
But, I want to educate myself more on schizophrenia/spiritual psychosis so that I am prepared to have a serious talk with her and encourage her to get the proper treatment. I just want her to be ok.
Thanks for reading xxx

2024.05.25 06:42 TheRealBomberTheBoss FNaF Lore Questions (plz help me) Part 2/2
Help Wanted
Did Tape Girl get 'Glitched'? - I've seen the case made that Tape Girl got possessed ('glitched') by Glitchtrap somewhere around Tape 14-15. The only real evidence I could find is because she introduces herself a second time. Problem is, is that the second time she introduces herself she tells us NOT to assemble the logs and abandon development: "...in hopes that you, whoever you are...and whatever team you are with, will abandon development." and also "I fear that finding them and reassembling them...will also reassemble the very thing I’ve tried so desperately to destroy." So, which is it?
Why did Fazbear raid the office? - In tape 5 Tape Girl tells that: "The drawers have been emptied out. Someone was here....It had to have been the client." The client is obviously Fazbear Entertainment, but why raid the office? They're presumably looking for the Glitchtrap virus, but how did they know that was on the circuit boards? If they did, why put it with all the other circuit boards? I get the Fazbear is negligible, but I didn't think they were outright stupid.
Is Sister Location an in-universe game? - After learning that the FNAF games are in-universe canon, does this include Sister Location? In the opening roller-coaster ride it shows the Funtime Freddy power module scene (the part were you fight off Bon-Bon). It also has Sister Location animatronics & segments like the one were you flash Funtime Foxy in Funtime Auditorium.
How does Glitchtrap enter your mind? - This is a VR game, right? How on earth could a virus enter you conscious via an Oculus Rift? Is this some NerveGear level VR? Or, does everybody have some kind of cybernetic implant in their brain or something?
Why is IT'S ME in the Fall Fest 83 barn? - The easter egg where you get the three clown posters and throw darts at them for this easter egg is cool, but does have lore significance? Like, is Golden Freddy also in the VR game? Or, is it nothing more than an easter egg for a character that didn't make it to the VR port?
Is Fazbear Entertainment stupid? - So, the MCI happens, then Fazbear hires this 'indie developer' to make a set of games that make light of it. Then, they decide to pull a 4D chess move and make a VR game about those games to discredit the person they hired to discredit the tragedies that happened.
- First off, they'd be SWIMMING in lawsuits after the first game got released. Secondly, do they really expect no one to start looking into things after someone releases a VIDEOGAME about it? Ever heard of the Streisand Effect, Fazbear? Lastly, did they really, truly, accidently send a hard drive containing emails between the two? Nevermind the idea that they just have that lying around, but to accidently send it?
- That's like someone claiming they don't drink, then 'accidently' sending footage of them drinking to someone. Why do you have that & how do you do that?
Security Breach
Is the Fake Ending of SL actually canon now? - The main reason I bring this up is because in the Sister Location room, you can see a basket of Exotic Butters on top of the TV, in the same position as they are in the Fake Ending. Also, the popcorn bucket is spilled on the floor, like some got shocked by, say, a massive blob of wires and eyeballs.
Seating Arrangement in the Sticky Note Room - I got the whole 'robot gaining sentience' thing, but why is there the table of the all the Aftons? Since they're all there does this mean that the Sticky Note occupant is, like, the elusive sixth Afton or something? Table etiquette says that the host and hostess sit at either end, so does the occupant think of themselves as the head of the table? If so, whose the magician guy then?
Nightmarionne Plushies. Everywhere. - Notice one, you notice them all. Please don't tell me friend was right about what they said.
GGY - Gregory is on the grindset, ngl.
Patient 46 lied about their childhood? - According to CD 16 Patient 46 lied about their tragedy. "Wanna guess what I found out when I looked into the tragedy of your past? All that stuff about your parents? You aren't even gonna look at me? Fine. You can look at the floor all you want. But it won't change the fact that none of what you said in your file about your parents was true. The truth is, you had great parents, a great childhood." It's mentioned quite a bit that 46 had a tragic backstory only for the plot twist to be that they didn't. But, why?
Gregory is Patient 46? - This is a big theory I've seen going around. However, I'm not fully sold on it just yet. I do agree that they seem to be talking to a kid based off their tone and wording, but then they drop things like: "Apparently, the techs were reviewing communications going in and out of this building and they came across some interesting things. They say you were in communication with someone, or maybe something. Pretty strange. What do you think about that? Nothing? Well the techs say it looked to them like it was an attempt to manipulate you, or maybe to lure you somewhere." (CD 15). Patient 46 is also shown to have a very morbid sense of humor, laughing at the idea of chickens running around with their heads cut off, while also being an elite hacker.
- Gregory, however, doesn't really show these skills in-game. He outright tells Glamrock Freddy he doesn't know what to do in Parts & Service to install the upgrades. Patient 46 is also seen to have been in communications with someone with rabbit ears, presumably Vanny, but why does Vanny try to kill him in Security Breach?
Who Left The Message? - The message written on the wall in the Sister Location room is confusing. It describes what Gregory is doing to the T, but immediately begs the question of who wrote it and why'd they write in this triangle code?
Ruin
How'd the Mimic contact Cassie? - Cassie says that: "Gregory! Gregory, you there? I got your message." Followed by "I don't get it. Why would Gregory tell me to come to this old place, and then not be here?" How'd it manage to contact her in the first place? I thought it was only in the Pizzaplex network? Does it somehow have internet access? Why not just call the police then?
Does Cassie have the Glitchtrap virus? - After gaining access to the V.A.N.N.I. network Cassie get an 'occipital transponder' implanted in her eye? Brain? It's unclear. Anyway, now she's jacked into the network, so does that mean she'll get infected with the Glitchtrap virus? How's that gonna go? Is gonna be like the Handsome Jack AI from Tales from the Borderlands?
Roxy outlined in green? - For some reason Roxy is always fully repaired in the AR (VR?) world, with the parts outlined in green. But, why only Roxy? They appear even before she remembers Cassie, so it's not like her original programming fought against the Mimic's after doing remember her.
Giving Chica her beak back accomplishes...? - So, you can beat Chica's Feeding Frenzy and repairing her with her beak, but then what? She's out of commission for the rest of the game whether you do that or not, so why include it then? Was it for some scrapped content?
Do Cassie's Dad & Gregory know each other? - I'm 90% sure he's a Faz-Technician, but wouldn't he already know Gregory then? Because after all, "...because the technicians who work for Pizzaplex know you, or rather I guess it would be better to say that they think they do. They report that they've caught you on camera, or at least it appears to be you. Nothing to say about that? Well the techs are convinced that you've hacked into their system many times." Wouldn't he know that this kid is friends with his daughter? I know people in the Faz-verse aren't exactly the smartest people, but wouldn't that just make logical sense?
We don't just throw out the other comic book endings, right? - Because there's a comic strip of the Burntrap ending showing the Blob and, well, Burntrap. But, we can still see the Blob in Ruin, so it's not like it's just thrown out the window, right?
Candy Cadet Story V2: Electric Boogaloo - The story Candy Cadet tells seems to just be what happens in Ruin. The mom finds the monster and throws in the basement, locking it away. Her son is scarred because the monster won't stop growling, so she sings him a lullaby every night. The monster learns the lullaby, and when the mother leaves to find food, it sings it to the boy who opens the door.
- Either this a genderswapped version of Cassie and her Dad, or this is about Vanessa and Gregory. I can't stand firm in either camp since there's so little info about the human characters in FNAF.
Baby Room - Why. Just...why? Are they trying to bring Elizabeth back or something? To quote Cassie: "What is she doing here?"
Gregory is missing? - As seen when getting Cassie's lore drop, we see her crying over Missing Gregory posters. I thought Gregory was homeless, though? Who filed a missing persons report? Vanessa? Why? Gregory was only locked in the Pizzaplex for one night, so why is he reported missing?
Brazil Ending has Vanessa? - The fact that this is supposed to be a fantasy world created by Cassie is fine, but why is Vanessa there? Does Cassie know her? When'd they meet?
M.X.E.S. get found out yet? - I know that it probably hasn't, but I just thought I'd ask.
Glamrock Bonnie and the Patpats - Is there any connection between these two? Maybe said/hinted in the books or something?
Anyone Know the Fate of Cassie's Mom? - I know that Mom's basically don't exist in this franchise, but I thought someone might have some book lore I don't know about. Like, "You see, Eleanor is actually a stand in for Mrs. Afton!" or something along those lines.
Is the Mimic based? - My favorite part is when Mimic showed up and totally mimicked all over the place. Truly one of the moments in the FNAF timeline.
Help Wanted 2
Do we play as two separate people? - Mainly because Sun refers to us as a kid and Carnie says we look like we have kids. So, do we play as someone in the AR world and someone else in the real world?
Carnie is Lefty, right? - The Lefty animatronic is just a repurposed version of Carnie, right? They have the same model type, pull the EXACT same pose in the character wheel, and Carnie and Lefty have the same eye color.
What makes YOU so special? - I dunno man, I can eat a quarter pounder in 15 seconds, does that count?
Is Mystic Hippo Mandatory or Meaningless? - I've seen gameplay of the extra Mystic Hippo feature, and it doesn't look like it's anything special. Am I wrong, or is there actually nothing more to it?
How is it a fair trade? - So, we give the Red King our VANNI mask and he gives us the Glitchtrap plush. How's that a fair trade? Also, why does he just have that? Didn't the Princess kill him in Security Breach?
The Fate of Vanny - Does the secret ending show Vanny becoming her own thing (i.e. getting rid of Glitchtrap) or her fading away because Glitchtrap no longer exists? The achievement you get for this ending is called 'Consequences', so it's probably the former, right?
Candy Cadet Stories V3: Killing Harmony - I convinced the first story is just a joke telling you to collect more coins, mainly because it's 5 coins long and that's the same amount you find in the hub. However, the second story is weird. It starts out as something like Cassie, but then diverges into Vanessa. Since we don't really know Vanessa's past or Cassie's future I can't really tell who it's about. Is it trying to be both?
FNAF WORLD
Is Glitchbear the same person as Friendbear? - The main reason is that they both look identical and use the phrase "Tomorrow is another day." So, are they the same?
Who is Desk Man? - I've seen almost everyone say that he's Henry (AKA Cassette Man), but Cassette Man dies in the fire in Pizzeria Simulator, so how could Baby kill him then? I get that FNAF World isn't one to one with the mainline games, but they still have overlapping elements.
Do the Yellow Eyes belong to Glitchbear? - This seems obvious, but this is also FNAF. They say that we need to leave breadcrumbs for 'him' to help him find his way. I'm 90% sure they him in question is the Crying Child, because the trophy for the Clock Ending shows a child sprite without tears. Seems he's found peace.
Old Man Consequences - Seriously, who is this guy? He just appears, makes you question your life choices, and then goes back to fishing.
Fifth Layer Down? - After reaching OMC you can drown yourself in the lake, leaving you to fall for about 2 minutes before seeing what looks to be either an angel or someone with their arms around two other people. However, I though four layers was the deepest you could go?
Special Delivery
6/10 Kids Enjoy 'Twisted' Pizza - "Fazbear's "Twisted" Pizza Recipe was voted "Most Yummy!" by 6 out of 10 children in every survey from 1988-1993!" Is this implying that 6 kids got killed? Or that four got killed and couldn't vote?
First Location Confirmation? - "The first location of the Freddy's franchise was actually Fredbear's Family Diner."
FNAF 1 Year Confirmation? - :In 1993, the most dangerous profession in the United States was actually night security guard." Could also be for as a reference to the theory, though.
What, no love for Henry? - "The famous William Afton is the man responsible for the creation of the animatronics we all know and love." Is this just a Simon Stagg and Alexander Sartorius situation?
So was Freddy's or Baby's first? - "Some of the first animatronics built by William Afton featured claw mechanisms that were able to hide away items inside them." This feels like I'm arguing the chicken or the egg.
So, FNAF takes place in Utah? - "Despite the name, hurricanes are actually not the leading cause of death of children in Hurricane, Utah."
Who do we play as in Special Delivery? - I doubt this was ever answered before it got shutdown, but is there any evidence for some kind of protagonist? Or are just some person who say the service and were all 'You know what would be really funny?'
These are just some questions I had about the FNAF lore.

2024.05.25 02:31 GloomyGazelle9072 my friend is in psychosis and cut me off
one of my best friends cut me off a few days ago.
But, I want to educate myself more on schizophrenia so that I am prepared to have a serious talk with her and encourage her to get the proper treatment. I just want her to be ok.
Thanks for reading xxx

2024.05.24 23:48 gistya Analysis of some interesting stats on Zach Edey

Analysis
We already know the concern about Edey's defense, and you can see that he posted the lowest defensive win shares on the above list.
However, I have not heard anyone really talk about just how great Edey's ability to score and get to the line has been:
- Edey posted the highest offensive win shares of players who played at least 30 games in college, above the likes of Tim Duncan, Steph Curry, and Zion Williamson.
- Edey posted top 10 numbers of trips to the FT line (and makes) since 1947-8.
Being able to get the other team into foul trouble is a unique art that has defensive benefits and timeless value at the NBA level. Removing one of the other team's best players from the floor is not exactly a stat whose impact is easily tracked, but we all know how big a factor it can be in the NBA Finals (just ask Sabonis!).
If you look at a list of the
NBA's all-time leaders in free throw attempts per season, it is a who's who of the Hall of Fame. Wilt Chamberlain dominates the top 10 slots followed by Jerry West, Shaq, Jordan, Barkely, Malone, Robinson, Dwight, etc. Almost everyone non-HoF player on that list is either an active player destined to be in the HoF one day (Durant, Giannis, LeBron, Harden, Embiid, Westbrook) or they're Ron Artest. Yet while in the NCAA, none of those guys even came close to Edey's free throw attempt numbers.
While we keep hearing how it's harder now for NBA centers to get to the line, it seems like it's not any harder than it used to be. Now it's just easier for shooters to get to the line than in Jordan's era. Still though, we have seen plenty of success from scoring bigs in getting to the FT line over the last 10 years: Joel Embid, DeMarcus Cousins, and Dwight Howard each have posted dominant seasons in this regard (perhaps in Dwight's case due partly to hack-a-Dwight, but I digress). Again, none of those guys posted FTA figures anywhere close to Edey during their NCAA years.
While it remains to be seen whether Edey can step up his defense and outside shooting in the league, his combine numbers in speed, agility, and shooting have been surprisingly good enough that I think that the idea he should be drafted outside the lottery is completely insane. If his floor is Paul Millsap/John Collins, and his ceiling is Tim Duncan, then I can't see him falling below #7 -- especially considering the impact Derek Lively II has had for the Mavericks this year.
My projection then for Edey is that he won't fall past Portland at #7. To me, the Blazers are a perfect fit. The Blazers' top priority is to find a PF, yet there really isn't one worth taking in the top 10 in this draft other than Sarr, who won't be there at #7. Ayton is much more natural as a power forward due to his feathery midrange game and mobility, and could easily guard any PF in the game. By drafting Edey, the Blazers could move Ayton to the 4, and run a lineup such as:
- Scoot Henderson / Malcolm Brogdon
- Shaedon Sharpe / Anfernee Simons
- Jerami Grant / Matisse Thybulle
- DeAndre Ayton / Toumani Camara
- Zach Edey / Robert Williams III
The Blazers' division includes OKC with Chet Holmgren (who Edey has experience guarding in national team play), Minnesota with Rudy Gobert and their three-bigs lineup, Denver with Joker and also a very tall lineup, and a forward-heavy Utah team. A guy like Edey who can get the Jokers, Chets, and Wembys of the world in foul trouble while dominating the boards and getting blocks seems likely to be able to generate a lot of fast-break points for a Blazer team with scorers like Scoot, Shaedon, and Simons. Should Edey work out then it also relieves some pressure they would otherwise have if Robert Williams III still struggles with injuries this year.
Of course, that would be contingent upon Edey dropping to #7, but if the Blazers pass on Edey at #7 then I would be shocked if Popovich doesn't snag him at #8. The new stat that's going to matter is points per dollar under the new cap, and Edey is, if nothing else, as pure a high-percentage bucket getter as we've ever seen coming out of the NCAA.

2024.05.24 02:55 Moonbeam0773 Kouri Richins Speaks Out One Year After Arrest for Husband's Murder
Children's author Kouri Richins is speaking out for the first time since being arrested in connection with the death of her husband last year.
The 34-year-old, who is accused of attempting to kill Eric Richins with a poisoned sandwich on Valentine's Day 2022 before allegedly murdering him with a fentanyl-spiked drink one month later, vehemently maintained her innocence in a series of recorded audio statements.
"I've been silent for a year, locked away from my kids, my family, my life, living with the media telling the world who they think I am, what they think I've done or how they think I've lived," she said in one of a series of audio statements obtained by NBC's Dateline: True Crime Daily podcast with Andrea Canning and published May 23. "And it's time to start speaking up."
Expressing how "you took an innocent mom away from her babies," the mother of three added, "and this means war."
In another recorded statement, which a spokesperson for Kouri provided to Dateline, Kouri shared she was looking forward to her day in court. "I'm anxious to prove my innocence," she noted. "I'm anxious to get to trial."
E ! News has reached out to Kouri's legal team for comment and has not heard back.
Kouri, who was arrested in March 2023, has not entered a plea in her case.
The author, who wrote about grieving a loved one in her children's book Are You With Me? after her husband, 39, died, is charged with aggravated murder, attempted aggravated murder, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, mortgage fraud, insurance fraud and forgery, with prosecutors alleging in a previous filing that she fraudulently claimed insurance benefits after Eric's death.
The statements came after a judge granted a request from Kouri's lawyers to withdraw from her defense, according to a May 17 filing obtained by Dateline, which noted that one of the attorneys had attributed the reason to an "irreconcilable and nonwaivable situation."
In another audio statement her spokesperson provided to Dateline, Kouri said, "This withdrawal was not my choice. And it was not a personal choice of any counsel on my defense team."
The same day the lawyers filed the withdrawal request, they asked a judge in another filing, also obtained by Dateline, to disqualify prosecutors they said had listened to calls between Kouri and her attorneys that authorities allegedly recorded without their consent.
Additionally, the filing, per the outlet, showed that in an email exchange between one of the defense lawyers and prosecutors, lead prosecutor Brad Bloodworth wrote that one of Kouri's lawyers refused to use a phone app that shields attorney-client calls. He also denied that the prosecutors had listened to the recordings and added that prosecutors had provided the recorded calls to the lawyers through discovery.
The office of Summit County, Utah's top elected prosecutor Margaret Olson said in a statement to Dateline that her office planned to file a response to the allegations by May 31.

2024.05.23 01:16 __jco Trading Dejounte Murray for a recently-drafted young upside player AND/OR Top10 Lottery pick+Future 1st (Spurs, Jazz, Pistons). Stretch?
\Disclaimer* Hawks Hypothetical Assuming a Continued Build Around Trae Young + Draft Alex Sarr #1-*
Despite an attractive, team friendly contract (4/112m) relative to his production and talent (25pts 9ast 6reb/gm with Trae out), I'm concerned about the lack of a trade market for Dejounte Murray. Hawks need to target a young, upside, reliable (athletic wing or large 2-guard) to pair alongside Trae Young & Jalen Johnson(+Sarr)*.. specifically one that can* thrive with lower usage, preferably possesses high IQ, interchangeability, solid spacing, athleticism and an emphasis on \strong* POA defense\. Difficult needle to thread.
~Existing players Identified~ Taylor Hendricks as the ideal target, with Jeremy Sochan, Ausar Thompson, Cason Wallace, Tari Eason, Keyonte George**, Lu Dort, Vince Williams, Brice Sensabaugh* (in addition to Future FRPs), all as options-of-lesser-degrees for a potential fit to pieces of the above criteria.
~Lotto Picks Identified~ - Ron Holland, Matas Buzelis, Cody Williams, Stephon Castle, Tidjane Salun, *Zacchaire Risacher* (#8 Ovr SA, #10 Ovr UTA, #5 Ovr DET, #9 Ovr MEM, #12 Ovr OKC)
It could be panic-induced thinking, and potentially stretch to even entertain the idea, but Not having another FRP until the 2028 draft plays a real factor into this line of thinking. Based on the outlook, sadly, we're living in a reality where Dejounte -as a trade asset- is going to be somewhat of a sunk cost. Atlanta should consider cutting their losses and making a move for a recently-drafted young upside player AND/OR second Top10 lottery pick + Future FRP (some combination of the 2/3).
Hypothetically, if the often-talked-about "established player for DJM" trade doesn't materialize.. Brandon Ingram is on an expiring and wants a *big money* contract extension. BI does fit the "wing" profile, but not in the way that checks off the boxes Atlanta needs from that complimentary position alongside Trae Young/JJ. I would still prioritize acquiring Ingram if you can't snag Taylor Hendricks or some combination of #5 or #8 and Future 1sts. Washington with Avdija/Kuzma & Future 1st is worth considering, too, fwiw.
~Draft Prospects (assuming ATL selects Alex Sarr #1)~
Understand folks are lower on this draft, but that's not to say there isn't talent to be had. Considering how jumbled the Top10 seems to be, there's some real volatility in how the board will play out on draft night. Having a second bite at the apple in the Top10 could be a strong opportunity to snag a great prospect who ends up becoming a "steal of the draft". Anywhere from 4-13 is interesting. Someone with a middle high/later pick might very well come away as a legitimate winner. despite the outside shot development questions, Ron Holland should be a Hawks target. Another interesting option, Matas Buzelis, also has shooting concerns, but both are large, strong, physical wing prospects that fit a lot of the criteria Atlanta needs. Additionally, Cody Williams, Tidjane Salun, Stephon Castle, Zacchaire Risacher, Isiah Collier, or Jakobe Walter are all attractive names to consider in/around the Top10 or so. There is some Clingan buzz, too, but I don't share the enthusiasm. Dillingham/Shepherd don't fit, and that's fine. Maybe Risacher falls, but probably unlikely.
Trade Partners -
Utah Jazz (Taylor Hendricks OR #10 Ovr + Future 1st) It was reported that ATL/UTAH discussed a Dejounte Murray deal at the trade deadline. Taylor Hendricks should be Atlanta's #1 Target in my opinion. Hendricks' (#9 in '23 draft) promising 3-point shooting, combined with elite athleticism, switchability, and rim protection is *perfect* for what ATL needs. The all-star upside is legit. Hawks should try to put a real package around Dejounte for Taylor Hendricks. Utah also owns pick 10. It's at least a worthwhile call to Danny Ainge, despite his reputation for being incredibly difficult to negotiate with. Brice Sensabaugh, Pick #10 and a future CLE/UTAH 1st rounder is probably a bit disappointing of a return. BUT, Lauri Markannen is headed into the final year of his contract. Jazz need to put a real ready-now talented player next to Lauri or there's a chance he walks/is traded AND Utah goes full rebuild. Their future FRPs could have real value. Keyonte George, whom the Hawks targeted in an exchange during the deadline discussion, was a hard "no" for Murray. Wonder if that's still the case. Dejounte absolutely fits with Utah, is on the same age-TL trajectory as Markannen (both entering prime), and was a 25pts 9ast 6reb per-game *lead guard* with Trae out. Is it insane to consider John Collins, #10 & Sensabaugh/Future 1st?!
San Antonio Spurs (#8 Ovr + ATL 1st OR Sochan) Makes a lot of sense to engage with. Dejounte has been playing nice-nice with them on twitter lately, and Spurs absolutely need a legit lead guard to pair with Victor. The 8th overall pick, if they're going the "second Top10 pick" route, is interesting. Wonder if pick 8 and one of our 25-27 FRPs would be something SA would entertain (assuming ATL adds a sweetener + DJM). Spurs will have a projected $21m in cap space that greases the wheels to fit Dejounte's salary in. Don't think Spurs would part ways with Jeremy Sochan + 8, and there would be some questions about fit with Jalen. Even just landing at 8, and trading Murray into their cap, there is concern that Ron Holland or Matas Buzelis don't last until pick 8. Is there *any world* where Atlanta can get 4 from SA with some sort of package around Dejounte? Probably doubtful without overpaying. Always a world to get a 3rd team involved.
Detroit Pistons (#5 OVR, AusaGrimes + Future 1st) Is worth a call. Reported that Detroit showed interest in De'Andre Hunter at the deadline, and the team is going nowhere. They are in full talent-acquisition-mode and reallly need to surround Cade Cunningham with any real help. DJM fits right into the Pistons cap space, and it's very unlikely they acquire a better asset via FA. While Ausar's defense/rebounding/physicality is very valuable, a *real* lack of a jumpshot might be too clunky a fit. Still has a LOT of upside and his energy/effort every night displays that of a winning player. Quentin Grimes and Isiah Stewart are both semi-young and could provide defensive help + 3pt spacing, too. However, There is also less of a fit in a Dejounte/Cade back-court (than the two previously mentioned teams), and based on the failed experiment of ATL's two-pg lineup, Detroit should leave it alone imo. Despite clearly needing to be a primary, I'm still a Jaden Ivey believer, and the move also compromises his value on court + as a trade asset, Their front office/org is a total nightmare, though, and offensively a DJM/Cade pairing could work. Cunningham at 6'6, in theory, can handle the nightly 2-guard defensive assignment, and showed some improvements on that end last year. Out of the potential trade partners, I'd easily prioritize/value Detroits future FRPs the most, *aside from our own*
Other Fits -
Memphis Grizzlies (#9 overall, Vince Williams) Need a 3rd team to facilitate (Orlando? Detroit?), which makes things more complicated, but worth investigating. Been reported that Memphis wants to move the pick.
OKC (#12 overall, Lu Dort or Cason Wallace, Future FRPs) Giddey 3rd Team? They are going to be active this offseason regardless. Can't keep all their role guys.
Thoughts?

2024.05.22 13:49 swennergren11 Priesthood in Nauvoo
I’m reading Benjamin Park’s “Kingdom of Nauvoo”. The following passage shows how “priesthood” had an expended definition:
“The term priesthood, then, possessed multiple, potent meanings to the early Mormons, reflecting their evolving sense of their social order. During the movement’s first decade, the term mostly referred to ecclesiastical offices (separated into classes including deacons, priests, and elders) as well as ritual administration (including the right to perform baptisms). But in Nauvoo, the priesthood was radically transformed into an all-encompassing notion of how the faithful should relate to one another. In short, the priesthood not only oversaw the saints’ community, but the operation of the world.”
“ This new understanding of priesthood authority held deep appeal for women who wished to play a role in the saints’ relationship to their community. It provided them a place in the Mormon kingdom’s reformation project. Women now had the authority to cleanse American society of sin and denounce the evils of the world. To be a “kingdom of priests,” as Smith promised, meant establishing a refuge where God’s laws could be kept alive even while Babylon burned. In this expansive definition of priesthood, all Mormons were potentially priests, and women priests possessed the distinct duty of helping return humanity to its divine stations. Rather than being passive recipients of male leadership, they were expected to help guide the church to new heights.”
It’s interesting that Smith saw the Relief Society as having such a powerful role in the church.
A far cry from what Young did with them in Utah, and what the Mormon church says today. Today women get the benefits of priesthood through their husbands, but that was not Smith’s intent in Nauvoo.
This shows another example of how easily “doctrine” can change based on who is in charge.

2024.05.20 01:05 Key_Invite_5235 Do we have to consummate a Utah online marriage if Utah recognizes it as a valid marriage?
I am a US citizen by birth. My question is simple: Does the Respect for Marriage Act's requirement, codified at 1 U.S.C. § 7, that the federal government recognize marriages done in ANY state for the purpose of ANY federal law where marital status is important invalidate the "consummation" requirements for Utah online marriages?
Background Utah online marriages are not accepted for US immigration purposes unless it has been "consummated" because INA 101(a)(35) is the definition of spouse and it requires consummation if the marriage is a proxy marriage. I assume that USCIS and DoS look at Utah online marriages as proxy marriages even though Utah doesn't.
Now, however, I was reading the Respect for Marriage Act.
It amended 1 U.S. Code § 7 to read (emphasis is mine)
(a) For the purposes of any Federal law, rule, or regulation in which marital status is a factor, an individual shall be considered married if that individual’s marriage is between 2 individuals and is valid in the State where the marriage was entered into or, in the case of a marriage entered into outside any State, if the marriage is between 2 individuals and is valid in the place where entered into and the marriage could have been entered into in a State.
(b) In this section, the term “State” means a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or any other territory or possession of the United States.
(c) For purposes of subsection (a), in determining whether a marriage is valid in a State or the place where entered into, if outside of any State, only the law of the jurisdiction applicable at the time the marriage was entered into may be considered.
My thoughts The word "any" means any federal law. This includes INA because it is a federal law. The text of the Respect for Marriage Act doesn't exclude immigration law. Thus, if a person gets married properly according to Utah law through the online ceremony and the marriage is valid in Utah because the marriage was, to quote the RMA, "entered into" in Utah, then USCIS
cannot deny your application for lack of consummation. They can deny your application if they believe you just got married for a green card and they think your relationship isn't real. But not having a valid marriage because you didn't consummate is not one of the reasons they can deny your application. The RMA effectively overrides the consummation requirement of the INA.
Extra thoughts There is an argument that non-consummation would make the marriage void. However according to Utah law, the non-consummation is not grounds for making a marriage void, although it could be grounds for an annulment. However, in
Matter of Agoudemos, 10 I&N Dec. 444, 446-47 (BIA 1964) the BIA ruled that a voidable marriage is valid.
I assume they do this because they recognize such a marriage as a proxy marriage. However, a proxy marriage, as far as I can tell online, is not allowed in Utah. A proxy marriage is only allowed in 5 states and even then I think the requirement is that one of the person has to be in the military.
Lawyers, what are your thoughts?
I am not a lawyer.

2024.05.19 03:32 JoshAsdvgi Navajo Skinwalkers
Navajo Skinwalkers
In the Navajo culture, a skinwalker is a type of harmful witch who has the ability to turn into, possess, or disguise themselves as an animal.
This witch is called “yee naaldlooshii” by the Navajo, which translates to “with it, he goes on all fours.”
It is just one of several types of Navajo witches and is considered the most volatile and dangerous.
For the Navajo people, witchcraft is just another part of their spirituality and one of the “ways” of their lives.
As such, witchcraft has long been part of their culture, history, and traditions.
Witches exist alongside humans and are not supernaturals.
The Navajo believe there are places where the powers of both good and evil are present and that those powers can be harnessed for either.
Medicine men utilize these powers to heal and aid members of their communities, while those who practice Navajo witchcraft, seek to direct the spiritual forces to cause harm or misfortune to others.
This type of Navajo witchcraft is known as the “Witchery Way,” which uses human corpses in various ways such as tools from the bones, and concoctions that are used to curse, harm, or kill intended victims.
The knowledge of these powers is passed down from the elders through the generations.
The Navajo are part of a larger culture area that also includes the Pueblo people, Apache, Hopi, Ute, and other groups that also have their own versions of the Skinwalker, but each includes a malevolent witch capable of transforming itself into an animal.
Among these tribes, a number of stories and descriptions have been told throughout the years about the Skinwalkers.
Sometimes, these witches evolved from living their lives as respected healers or spiritual guides, who later chose to use their powers for evil.
Though they can be either male or female, they are more often male.
They walk freely among the tribe during the day and secretly transform under the cover of night.
In order to become a Skinwalker, he or she must be initiated by a secret society that requires the evilest of deeds – the killing of a close family member, most often a sibling.
After this task has been completed, the individual then acquires supernatural powers, which gives them the ability to shape-shift into animals.
Most often, they are seen in the form of coyotes, wolves, foxes, cougars, dogs, and bears, but can take the shape of any animal.
They then wear the skins of the animals they transform into, hence, the name Skinwalker. Sometimes, they also wore animal skulls or antlers atop their heads, which brought them more power.
They choose what animal they wanted to turn into, depending on the abilities needed for a particular task, such as speed, strength, endurance, stealth, claws, and teeth, etc.
They may transform again if trying to escape from pursuers.
Because of this, the Navajo consider it taboo for its members to wear the pelt of any predatory animal. However, sheepskin, leather, and buckskin are acceptable.
The skinwalkers are also able to take possession of the bodies of human victims if a person locks eyes with them.
After taking control, the witch can make its victims do and say things that they wouldn’t otherwise.
Once they were shape-shifted, one way that others could tell that they were not a real animal is that their eyes are very different than those of the animal.
Instead, their eyes are very human, and when lights are shined on them, they turn bright red.
Alternatively, when they are in human form, their eyes look more like animals.
The evil society of the witches gather in dark caves or secluded places for several purposes – to initiate new members, plot their activities, harm people from a distance with black magic, and perform dark ceremonial rites.
These ceremonies are similar to other tribal affairs, including dancing, feasts, rituals, and sand-painting, but were “corrupted” with dark connotations.
The evildoers are also said to engage in necrophilia with female corpses, commit cannibalism, incest, and grave robberies.
During these gatherings, the Skinwalkers shape-shift into their animal forms or go about naked, wearing only beaded jewelry and ceremonial paint.
The leader of the Skinwalkers is usually an old man, who is a very powerful and long-lived Skinwalker.
Skinwalkers also have other powers including reading others’ minds, controlling their thoughts and behavior, causing disease and illness, destroying property, and even death.
Those who have talked of their encounters with these evil beings describe a number of ways to know if a skinwalker is near.
They make sounds around homes, such as knocking on windows, banging on walls, and scraping noises on the roof.
On some occasions, they have been spied peering through windows.
More often, they appear in front of vehicles in hopes of causing a serious accident.
It is said that, in addition to being able to shapeshift, the Skinwalker is also able to control the creatures of the night, such as wolves and owls, and to make them do its bidding.
Some are able to call up the spirits of the dead and reanimate the corpses to attack their enemies.
Because of this, you shouldn't ventured out alone.
Its supernatural powers are uncanny, as they are said to run faster than a car and have the ability to jump high cliffs.
They are extremely fast, agile, impossible to catch and leave tracks that are larger than those of any animal. When they have been seen, they have been described as not quite human and not fully animal.
They are usually naked, but some have reported seeing the creature wearing tattered shirts or jeans.
The Skinwalker kills out of greed, anger, envy, spite, or revenge.
It also robs graves for personal wealth and to collect much-needed ingredients for use in black magic.
These witches live on the unexpired lives of their victims and they must continually kill or perish themselves.
Skinwalkers and other witches have long been blamed for all manner of unexpected struggles and tragedies through the years, including sickness, drought, poor crops, and sudden deaths.
Even smaller or individual problems such as windstorms during dances, alienation of affection by mates, the death of livestock, and reversal of fortune, were often believed to be the work of a witch.
This was most apparent with the Navajo Witch Purge of 1878, which initially evolved from a cultural response to so many people moving across and onto their lands.
After a series of wars with the U.S. Army, the Navajo were expelled from their land and forced to march to the Bosque Redondo (Fort Sumner) in New Mexico in what is known as the Long Walk of the Navajo in 1864.
There, the people suffered from bad water, failed crops, illness, and death, reducing their numbers dramatically.
After four years, the government finally admitted they had made a mistake and the Navajo were allowed to return to their homeland in the Four Corners area.
During these years, many of the tribe’s members were said to have turned to shape-shifting to escape the terrible conditions.
In the meantime, the rest of the tribe were convinced that their gods had deserted them.
Once the people had returned to their homeland, their conditions improved, but the dreaded skinwalkers, for whom they blamed for their years on the bleak reservation, were still among them.
Accusations of witchcraft and the hunting of the skinwalkers began.
When someone found a collection of witch artifacts wrapped in a copy of the Treaty of 1868, the tribal members unleashed deadly consequences.
The “Navajo Witch Purge” occurred in 1878, in which 40 Navajo suspected witches were killed in order to restore harmony and balance for the tribe.
Today, most of the tales of sightings of these witches do not include death or injury, but rather, are more “trickster-like.”
Numerous people have told stories of swift animals running alongside their vehicles, matching their speed. After a short period, however, they run off into the wilderness.
Along the way, these animals sometimes turn into a man, who sometimes bangs on the hood.
Another story tells of a man who was making repairs on an old ranch home when he began to hear loud laughter coming from the nearby sheep pens.
Thinking he was alone, he went to investigate and found all of the sheep but one huddled in one corner of the pen.
However, there was a lone ram separated from the group that was standing upright and laughing in a very human manner.
After the man locks eyes with the ram, he sees that his eyes are not that of an animal, but very like a human’s. The animal then casually walked away on all four legs.
Some say they have seen them running through the night, sometimes turning into a fiery ball, leaving streaks of color behind them.
Others have seen angry-looking humanoid figures looking down on them from cliffs, mountains, and mesas.
In the 1980s one of the most notable events occurred when a family was driving through the Navajo Reservation.
As they slowed to make a sharp curve, something jumped from the ditch.
It was described as black, hairy, and wore a shirt and pants.
A few days after this event, at their home in Flagstaff, Arizona, the family was awakened to the sounds of loud drumming and chanting.
Outside their home were three dark forms of “men” outside their fence.
However, these shadowy creatures were seemingly unable to climb the fence and soon left.
These events have occurred in the Four-Corners area of southwest Colorado, southeast Utah, northeast Arizona, and northwest New Mexico.
In the 1990s, a ranch in northeast Utah, far away from the Navajo Reservation, became the partial focus of the Skinwalkers.
Called the Sherman Ranch, the Skinwalker Ranch, and the UFO Ranch, this place has a history of UFOs, aliens, cattle mutilations, and crop circles.
Located near the Ute Indian reservation, these people have long thought that the Navajo put a curse on their tribe in retribution for many perceived transgressions and since then, the skinwalkers have plagued the Ute people.
Witchcraft represents the antithesis of Navajo cultural values and is not tolerated.
They work to avoid it, prevent it, and cure it in their daily behaviors.
However, when it exists, their laws have always said that when a person becomes a witch, they have forfeited their humanity and their right to exist, so they should be killed.
However, skinwalkers are notoriously hard to kill and attempts are usually unsuccessful.
Trying to kill one will often result in the witch seeking revenge.
Successful killing generally requires the assistance of a powerful shaman, who knows spells and rituals that can turn the Skinwalker’s evil back upon itself.
Another alternative is to shoot the creature with bullets that have been dipped into white ash.
However, this shot must hit the witch in the neck or the head.
Traditionally, the Navajo will not speak with outsiders about these creatures, for fear of retribution by the skinwalkers.
For that matter, it is a taboo subject amongst the natives themselves.
“These are not things that need or should be discussed by outsiders.
At all.
I’m sorry if that seems ‘unfair,’ but that’s how our cultures survive.” – Dr. Adrienne Keene, Native American academic, writer, and activist

2024.05.18 16:41 reeftrader Car dealership issues
Traded in my paid for 2017 Tacoma that was paid for. I traded it for a 2009 F 150. I recently got married and started working for a startup. Since my truck was paid for I traded it in and used the extra money to build out my basement for the 4 new step kids.
The dealer needed to make 2 repairs to the truck as part of the trade in deal. It has been 4 months and I don’t have a repaired truck and they want me to come down today and take possession of another truck they found, they gave me the vin yesterday after 3 more phone calls out of dozens. This new truck books out at a lower value and has been in two accidents. I am being told by the dealership that this is my only choice in the matter if I want a truck. I can’t believe this is real at this point.
I have the paperwork filled out in my state of Utah to file a complaint against the dealership, a TC-451. I don’t know if this is enough to undo the contract or if I need to just file this and move onto small claims court. 15,000 max and I can’t sue to get property back. My Tacoma was traded in at 28k with a clean paid for title.

2024.05.18 16:09 SombraCards Afton Bot (AU) (Couldn't find a properly flair)
| For a few months now I've been working on this FNaF AU that I made based on the books and games and now I'm finally here to expose it (The reason I put flair as Artwork is because I was confused about the flair). Afton Bot AU: It is based on the suicide bot presented in the TSE trilogy but with a difference, the Suicide Bot was created to be a robot version of William that was supposed to be like Henry wanted his co-worke"friend" to be. Somehow, the robot took on a life of its own after Henry placed the knife that William used to kill the children and his daughter inside it as its core/heart. Afton Bot presents everything that William didn't feel: regret, affection, everything that people in his environment needed, including his children. Now, Afton Bot has a mission, clean up the mess that was made by the original self, putting an end to everything and putting the victims to rest. Characters Afton Bot: He is everything Afton wasn't, a good father, a good friend, someone charitable who cares about others. He is very calm and patient and seems to care about his children and friends, even if he is not the real Afton. Although a robot, he needs to eat, sleep, drink and bleeds. He's looking for C.C and Elizabeth Michael: Afton's eldest son who is now a walking corpse. He met Afton Bot by chance, thinking he was his father but he wasn't. He actually considers Afton Bot to be his real father Samuel (Sammy) Emily: Charlie's twin brother is alive and has assumed the position of CEO of Fazbear Entertainment,he found Robot Charlie and takes care of her as if she were his sister. He found the real Charlie and keeps her in his house for safekeeping Afton: I don't need to explain Robot Charlie: Well, same for her. Fredbear: C.C Afton, in other words, is not angry about his death, he doesn't blame Michael but he doesn't forgive him for the bullying he suffered while he was alive. He is only possessed by C.C only,Golden Freddy is a separate costume. Most of the time C.C doesn't possess Fredbear, he occasionally comes out of his costume and wanders around as a spirit to observe his loved ones and friends. Scrap Baby: Just like TSE Baby, but she isn't faking to be Charlie (Meaning SL events happens here) Extra info: Henry is missing, probably ran away The story takes place during FNaF 3 for FFPS The story takes place in Hurricane, Utah Puppet despite having a soul possessing it, is unable to move due to being inactive and rusty Elizabeth doesn't consider Michael her brother because he interferes with her plans submitted by SombraCards to fivenightsatfreddys [link] [comments] |
2024.05.18 03:34 Unfair-Goal-9563 This team needs a center forward
They have absolutely dominated Utah in every way but cannot score. Such a talented team that plays a beautiful technical, possession style of soccer, but they are not getting the results because they do not have a reliable go to goal scorer up front. Kerolin’s injury was a huge loss. They may need to make an acquisition or trade to deal with this.

Frequently Asked Questions Are There Age Restrictions For The Water Parks? One of the most important questions to ask when selecting a water park is whether or not there are age restrictions in place. After all, no one wants to end up somewhere that isn't suitable for them and their family's needs! Age limits vary from water park to water park, so it's essential to check before you go. The good news is that many of the best water parks in the United States have little to no age limit on admission. This means that you can bring anyone along with you, regardless of their age – making these spots perfect for families with young children and adults alike. However, some parks may still impose minimum height requirements or other rules based on safety considerations. It's always worth looking into those details beforehand if they're available online. Another thing to keep in mind is that certain rides at a given water park might be restricted due to age or physical size constraints. For instance, some thrill-seeking attractions could require riders to be over 14 years old (or even 16), while others may only accept adults 18 and up. In any case, it pays off to double-check what activities your group can partake in before hitting the road! No matter where you decide to visit this summer season, being aware of potential age restrictions will help ensure everyone has an enjoyable time - without compromising safety standards or breaking any rules! Do Any Of The Water Parks Offer Discounts For Large Groups? Are you looking to take a group of people on an exciting water park adventure? These can be great value deals that provide access to the best attractions throughout the summer months. Furthermore, some water parks even host special events where entrance fees are reduced – allowing everyone to enjoy all the thrills without breaking the bank! 2024.05.16 23:21 Meowopesmeow In hospital
So I got admitted to hospital Monday after a procedure went wrong and I got an infection somewhere in my gut. Anyways so I went there w almost none of my belongings and the first few days were horrendous without all the normal ridiculous stuff I do to keep my skin clean. My hands were peeling etc.
Anyways, they put me on IV & oral AB I believe a mix of erythromycin, keflex & metronidazole. So as I said the first few days were terrible I kept moisturising my hands and still getting all the normal black crap out of my skin and my skin bring all wrinkly etc. havent itched at all since I've been in here. 1 day I took hald an adderall when I was in here and all the black stuff came back.
My friend bought some of my thing in 2 days ago and I literally touched my laptop and my entire hand & arm started itching and I quickly put it away and now am scared to touch it. But the other thing is now I moisturise and it's been 5 days in here on AB and the debris hasn't stopped but has greatly reduced. My fingers only wrinkle when I touch my pants I came in with or my hair and I feel like if I were in hospital another month on AB I'd surely be cured. Also all my nails have grown back in 5 days and before I came in they were all chipped and stopped growing.
I'm not sure what we can take from this I almost want to do something to make myself sicker as I'm getting better and they will discharge me anyway now and I keep just thinking nooo I can't go back to my possessions or my car or anything from my life.
I don't know what we can take from this, except that multiple antibiotics when combined with a totally new sterile environtment likely offers some kind of cure. I'm fairly certain if I just had the AB and I was at home with all my infected possessions that I'd still be screwed.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to just start over from scratch? Or any ideas on how to leverage this into something useful lol. 🤔
Fk, im kinda leaning towards throwing everything I have out and ordering antibiotics from overseas and just wandering the earth til I'm cured. If I have no possessions and I just buy new clothes daily and throw them out and sleep in a diff bed every night. Idk what to do bout my cat but I can't go back to morgellons. Part of me hates hospital but it's been so nice just to get away from this disease for a week.
