🔗Bright and Versatile Coleman Dual Fuel Lantern with Adjustable Dimmer

https://preview.redd.it/pptpex817r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=acb5413e1c2682c24fb634175be1cbd280dbacb2
I recently added the Coleman Premium Dual Fuel Lantern to my camping gear, and let me tell you, it's been a game-changer. The combination of Coleman's time-honored reliability and the convenience of its dual fuel system has made this lantern a go-to for all my outdoor adventures.
One of the standout features is the brightness. With 700 lumens on high, it illuminates my tent or campsite like nothing I've ever seen before. The adjustable dimmer knob lets me fine-tune the light to my needs, making it perfect for late-night tent tinkering.
But the real star here is the dual fuel technology. Using either Coleman Liquid Fuel or unleaded gasoline, this lantern provides an impressive runtime of 7 hours on high with just one tank of fuel. It saves me both time and money compared to traditional propane lanterns.
Now, no product is without its drawbacks. The lantern's compact size means it's a bit lighter on weight, with a more streamlined design compared to Coleman's older models. However, it still packs a punch when it comes to performance.
Lastly, the durable carry case is a welcomed addition. It keeps my lantern safe and secure during transportation, and I appreciate the attention to detail in this aspect.
Overall, the Coleman Premium Dual Fuel Lantern has been a dependable companion on my camping journeys. From illuminating my campsite to providing a warm, reliable source of light in chilly conditions, it's a lantern worthy of its high rating and positive reviews.

Imagine a warm summer night, you've set up camp in a secluded clearing, and you're surrounded by the soft rustling of the forest. You've had a long day hiking, and as the sun sets, you realize you've brought the wrong lantern with you. Suddenly, you hear some rustling in the bushes, and the dark shadow of a wild animal appears in the dim light. What do you do? Of course, you grab your old lantern, but it's feeble, the battery barely holding on. Then you remember your new propane lantern that you bought for this very situation. You hold it proudly, and the glow of the lantern lights up the darkness, and you feel a sense of security wash over you.
The Coleman Propane 2 Mantle Lantern, a reliable and portable solution to all your outdoor illumination needs. The first thing you'll notice is the impressive extra-bright output, casting a light 23 meters up, and with a runtime of up to 7.5 hours, it's perfect for those camping trips or emergency situations. The lantern is simple to use, no need for matches, just twist the fuel cap, and the flame roars to life, ready to light your way.
The design of the lantern is sturdy, with a pressure-control technology providing consistent performance even in extreme conditions, making it an ideal choice for the great outdoors. And don't worry about corrosion and rust, the porcelain-coated 2-tier ventilator helps resist wear and tear on the material, making it a long-lasting companion for any outdoor adventure.
The Coleman Propane 2 Mantle Lantern, a valuable addition to your camping gear, and an essential safety device to keep you and your loved ones safe in any situation.

I recently had the opportunity to use the Coleman PerfectFlow Propane Lantern with Case. This little camping essential is a game-changer for those who love spending time outdoors. It's not just about illuminating your surroundings, but it's also about providing a cozy, warm ambiance that makes you feel at home away from home.
One of the standout features of this lantern is the adjustable brightness level. From low to high, you can easily change the intensity of the light, making it perfect for any situation. The footed base is another great addition, as it provides stability and can be folded up for compact storage when not in use. The match-light ignition makes starting a breeze, while the PerfectFlow System ensures consistent fuel usage.
However, there are a few drawbacks to this lantern. For one, it does get quite hot, so you need to be careful when handling it after it's been on for a while. Additionally, the carry case is protective and sturdy but isn't the most compact option, which might be an issue for those with limited storage space.
Overall, the Coleman Deluxe PerfectFlow Propane Lantern with Soft Carry Case is a must-have for anyone who loves camping or spending time outdoors. With its bright light and long runtime, it's a reliable and versatile addition to any outdoor enthusiast's arsenal.

As a fan of outdoor adventures, I recently got the Coleman 810 Lumen 2-Mantle Quickpack Fuel Lantern with Case to brighten up my camping trips and fishing expeditions. This lantern has become an essential part of my camping gear due to its versatility and functionality.
One of the features that stood out to me was the InstaStart ignition for fast, matchless lighting. It made setting up the lantern a breeze, especially considering the late hours when I'd sometimes need a lantern. The uniquely designed footed base also played a big role in enhancing the stability of the lantern, ensuring it wouldn't topple over during use.
The product is designed for portability, and it folds up for compact storage. This trait comes handy when I have limited space in my vehicle, making it perfect for an outdoor enthusiast like me who needs to carry their gear efficiently.
However, the experience wasn't entirely smooth sailing. The first con that came to my attention was the propane fuel type, which may be harder to find in some areas compared to other alternatives. But overall, this lantern has been a reliable companion during my outdoor endeavors.
In summary, the Coleman 810 Lumen 2-Mantle Quickpack Fuel Lantern with Case is an excellent choice for a camping enthusiast who wants a portable light source. Its unique design, versatility, and adjustable brightness level make it a standout choice among similar products in the market. But it is crucial to be aware of the potential limitations when considering this as your go-to lantern, particularly regarding the propane fuel type.

🔗Reliable Coleman One Mantle Kerosene Lantern with Automatic Tip Cleaner

https://preview.redd.it/b1rn1js27r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cda8816623a611258eab199337d496a42c636ece
Imagine those long camping nights, surrounding a warm, glowing light. That's the charm of the Coleman One Mantle Kerosene Lantern. It's like stepping back into the good old days when lanterns ruled the outdoors.
This classic kerosene lantern stands out, offering high-intensity light and the ability to dim it down as per your convenience. The durable porcelain-coated ventilator protects it from the harsh outdoor elements, and the high-temperature globe resists cracking from heat.
It's a classic piece of camping gear, perfect to light up your campsite. The kerosene-powered lantern provides up to 5.5 hours of burn time on one fuel tank. It's straightforward to use, with an easy single-knob control for operation.
Yet, it's not without its drawbacks. The ignition might require some practice, and fuel could be a bit of a hassle. But, if you can overlook these, this lantern could become your go-to outdoor lighting solution.
Coleman, a brand we trust, has been lighting up our lives for over a century. And with their One Mantle Kerosene Lantern, they show no sign of stopping. Their reputation as a premier gear provider speaks volumes about the quality of this product, and their commitment to making outdoor experiences more enjoyable.

🔗Adjustable Outdoor Kerosene Lantern with Heat-Shield

I recently had the chance to try out the Coleman One Mantle Kerosene Lantern during a camping trip, and it performed admirably. One of the standout features of this lantern is its adjustable brightness, which allowed me to customize the light level to my liking. The porcelain-coated ventilator also proved to be effective in resisting corrosion and rust, ensuring the lantern's longevity.
However, I did encounter a couple of minor drawbacks. First, the lantern required fresh kerosene to work properly, which means it might not be the best choice for a backup light in an emergency situation. Second, the mantle is quite fragile and can easily break during transit, so it's essential to have spare mantles on hand.
Overall, the Coleman One Mantle Kerosene Lantern is a reliable and versatile option for outdoor lighting, with its durability and adjustable brightness making it a top pick for campers and weekend adventurers alike.

As a product reviewer, I've had the pleasure of trying out the Stanley 24 oz. Quick Flip Go Water Bottle in the Tigerlily color. This water bottle has become a staple in my daily routine.
The first thing that caught my eye was its sleek design – perfect for carrying on the go. The double-wall vacuum insulation is a real game-changer. Whether I'm sipping on iced water in the summer or a hot cup of tea in the winter, the temperature remains consistent for hours.
One feature I particularly appreciate is the trigger-action lid. It's easy to use and helps prevent spills, making it great for when I'm on the move. Plus, the fact that it's dishwasher safe is a lifesaver. No more scrubbing by hand!
However, there are a couple of downsides. Firstly, the weight of the bottle can be a bit of a struggle for those who prefer a lighter option. Secondly, the dimensions might not fit all car cup holders, which can be a hassle during road trips.
Overall, the Stanley Quick Flip Go Water Bottle has been a reliable companion in my everyday life. Its combination of style, functionality, and durability make it a must-have for anyone looking for a reliable water bottle.

🔗Cold Steel Heavy Duty Nylon Cane with Rubber Ferrule

https://preview.redd.it/v48i5gn34r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=64aac772c9910fa7f43dc2f916fb8b53b380e7fc
I've been using the Cold Steel Heavy Duty Cane in my daily life, and it has proven to be quite the companion. The nylon handle provides an enhanced grip that makes it convenient to hold, while the steel construction ensures structural strength for long-term use. I particularly appreciate the rubber ferrule, which is designed to be slip-resistant, making it an excellent choice for uneven terrain or icy sidewalks.
One downside is that it might be a bit heavy for some people, especially those who don't need the extra weight for support. However, the overall design and engineering of the cane are top-notch, and it gives me a sense of reassurance knowing I have a sturdy and reliable walking staff whenever I need it.

🔗Cold Steel Special Forces Shovel: Robust, Stainless Steel Outdoor Essential

https://preview.redd.it/onud1it34r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=19aa78d8c58949aae696362f44a26b21b9da0dca
This past summer, I found myself on a weekend camping trip and realized I didn't pack a shovel. I needed to dig a small trench around my campsite to divert water. Luckily, a friend had a Cold Steel Special Forces Shovel that he let me borrow. On the first day, he taught me how to use it. The edge was sharp, and the handle felt sturdy. I was surprised by how strong it was. I struggled a bit at first, but it didn't take long before I was able to dig the trench.
After returning from the camping trip and reflecting on the weekend, I realized that the shovel had some flaws. Firstly, it was a bit heavy for a camping trip, and I felt it could cause strain on my back over time. Secondly, it didn't come with a sheath, which was inconvenient since I had to keep it in my vehicle's trunk, where it took up too much space.
Despite these issues, I still appreciated the durability of the Cold Steel Special Forces Shovel. It was clear that it was designed for heavy-duty tasks. The edge remained sharp even after I used it heavily. The wooden handle felt comfortable to hold, even though it was a bit on the thick side.
Overall, the Cold Steel Special Forces Shovel was a functional tool, but it could be improved for camping trips or situations where portability is a priority.

🔗Cold Steel Smatchet: Deluxe Edition for Playstation 5

https://preview.redd.it/duzypj644r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4feb4a7502a34a0974f6539f3524c5dc9b0652ab
As someone who thoroughly enjoyed diving into the Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III and IV, let me share my experience with this dynamic duo. The deluxe edition for Playstation 5 was a refreshing return to the rich world of Erebonia, where war hero Rean Schwarzer began his new life as an instructor at Thors Military Academy's branch campus.
What stood out to me was how the game expertly handled the aftermath of the Erebonian Civil War and introduced new threats to keep the story alive. Delving into it with the improved RPG gameplay on PlayStation 5 made my journey even more immersive. Plus, the cosmetic DLC available with these iterations ensured that every member of my party was looking their best, adding a unique touch to the experience.
However, like any other game, it wasn't all smooth sailing. There were moments that were a bit challenging, but overall, the Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III and IV truly delivered an engaging experience that I thoroughly enjoyed as a fan of the genre.

🔗Heavy Duty Cold Grease Remover for Effortless Cleaning

As a home cook who's always experimenting with new recipes and kitchen tools, I've found myself in a bit of a pickle when it comes to removing stubborn grease from my appliances. That's why I was thrilled to try the Shumanit Cold Grease Remover.
Right off the bat, I found it remarkable how quickly this cold grease remover works. No need for a heat source or any harsh chemicals. In fact, it's effective on all sorts of surfaces - my oven, pots, frying pans, baking trays, stainless steel dishes, cooking surfaces, steam extractors, and even hard-to-clean vents.
I've had my fair share of leaky packages in the past, but the Shumanit Cold Grease Remover was surprisingly well-packed. It comes in a sturdy plastic bottle with a trigger spray that's easy to use.
The product has a delightful citrus smell that lifts the spirits while I'm getting my hands dirty in the kitchen. Plus, the grease and grime just seem to vanish as if by magic.
However, there's one small downside to my Shumanit experience. On one occasion, the package was partially leaking, which made me worry about the condition of the other products in the batch. I just hope it was a one-time issue and not a trend.
To sum up, the Shumanit Cold Grease Remover is a truly versatile and effective grease and grime remover. It's a lifesaver for anyone who values a sparkling clean kitchen. Let's just hope the packaging improves in the future.

This insulated beverage container ensures my drinks remain at the perfect temperature for hours on end, whether I'm savoring a hot cup of coffee on a chilly morning or enjoying an icy beverage on a sweltering day.
One of my favorite features is the stainless steel construction, which not only makes the bottle sturdy and durable but also ensures it's free of BPA, a nice touch for any health-conscious individual. The double-wall vacuum insulation, another key highlight, works wonders in keeping my beverages at their desired temperatures, even in extreme conditions.
However, I found that the bottle can be quite difficult to clean, especially along the insulated areas. Additionally, the screw cap lid, while functional, can be a bit tricky to twist off after a while, depending on the grip strength. These minor inconveniences aside, the Stanley Legendary Classic Bottle has proven to be an indispensable companion on all my outdoor excursions.

🔗Versatile Cold Welding Formula for Robust Bonds

Recently, I got my hands on the J-B Weld Original Cold-Weld Formula Steel Reinforced Epoxy. I was intrigued by the fact that it could serve as an inexpensive alternative to welding, soldering, and brazing. To my surprise, this versatile epoxy proved to be a game-changer in my daily life.
One of the most impressive features of the J-B Weld epoxy is its water-resistant nature. I used it to seal a leak in my water pipe, and it worked like a charm. The epoxy's petroleum and chemical resistance made it perfect for my project, as it withstood various tests without any damage.
Another standout feature of this product is its non-toxic and safe-to-use nature. I used it to fix my child's broken toy, and its safety made me feel more comfortable.
However, I did notice that the mixing ratio of the epoxy is quite sensitive. One must be cautious not to deviate too far from the 1-1 ratio of liquid steel/epoxy resin and the hardener. A slight miscalculation could result in a weaker bond or the need for reapplication.
In conclusion, the J-B Weld Original Cold-Weld Formula Steel Reinforced Epoxy is a must-have for DIY enthusiasts and professionals alike. Its ease of use, remarkable strength, and versatility make it a standout product in its category. Despite the minor drawback of the mixing ratio, the benefits far outweigh the inconvenience.

🔗Insulated Bottle for Long-Lasting Beverages

I recently put the Stanley Classic to the test on an outing to the mountains. This bottle is a true companion for outdoor enthusiasts, with its impressive 18/8 stainless steel construction and BPA-free design. The 1.5 quart capacity means it can handle all types of drinks, from hot coffee to icy coolers, and keep them at the optimal temperature for up to two days. The folding handle is a clever added feature that allows for easy carrying without the risk of it rolling away.
One of the standout features of this bottle is its leakproof design, making it a reliable option for packing in a backpack or storing in a truck bed. The wide mouth also makes it easy to fill and clean, which is especially helpful for those who enjoy making their own homemade brews. However, I did notice that the bottle is quite heavy, weighing in at 2 pounds, making it more challenging to carry for longer periods of time.
Overall, the Stanley Classic is an excellent investment for those who love spending time outdoors and need a reliable companion to keep their drinks at the perfect temperature.

🔗Portable Insulated Water Bottle with Silicone Straw

https://preview.redd.it/l5lg54i64r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e07172bcc88a069950d96dd4cfb862f209f40f40
I recently had the chance to put the Cooper Stainless Steel Water Bottle to the test, and I have to say, it impressed me with its performance. The most standout feature of this water bottle is its ability to keep drinks cold for an impressive amount of time. I often struggle to find a water bottle that can truly keep my beverage chilled all day long, but this one did just that. The double-walled and vacuum insulated design does an excellent job of maintaining the temperature of the liquid inside.
Another feature I appreciated is the leak-proof lid. No matter how rough I was with it, it never leaked once. The one-touch silicone push button locking mechanism helped keep my bag and clothes dry, while the straw was a fun and convenient addition. Cleaning it was also a breeze, thanks to the top rack dishwasher safe lids and BPA-free materials.
However, I did experience a downside with the product - it isn't suitable for hot beverages. If you're someone who prefers drinking tea or coffee, this may not be the best option for you. Additionally, I found it slightly difficult to fit the bottle in my usual cup holders, which can be inconvenient during travel or at the gym.
Overall, the Cooper Stainless Steel Water Bottle did an incredible job of keeping my drinks cold and providing a leak-proof, easy-to-clean design. Although there were minor drawbacks, I still enjoyed its benefits and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and stylish water bottle.

🔗Stanley 1.1 Qt. Legendary Classic Canteen - BPA-Free Stainless Steel

https://preview.redd.it/fva5u8074r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=021a8e122aa23b47e0dbf977a9a0b77939f8066e
I recently had the chance to try out the Stanley 1.1 Qt. Classic Canteen, a 18/8 stainless steel bottle that promises to be leakproof, packable, and perfect for outdoor use. At first glance, the canteen looks sleek and sturdy, with a classic design that makes it easy to hold and carry around. It comes equipped with a removeable carrying strap that keeps your hands free and adds a touch of style to the canteen.
One of the standout features of this canteen is its non-insulated stainless steel material, which allows for easy packing while still offering a decent capacity for your favorite beverage. However, I found that the lack of insulation means that the canteen doesn't retain temperature as well as I would have liked. While it's fine for day-to-day use, it's not ideal for taking on long hikes or camping trips where maintaining the temperature of your drink is important.
Another downside to the canteen is the attached cap, which can be a bit tricky to open and close, especially with one hand. Though I appreciate the convenience of having it attached, it would be nice if the cap were more user-friendly and easy to access. Additionally, the metal clips on the carrying strap can be quite loud when walking or hiking, which can be a bit distracting and might not be the most discreet choice for stealthily navigating through the wilderness.
Despite these minor drawbacks, overall I found the Stanley 1.1 Qt. Classic Canteen to be a functional and stylish option for everyday use. It's a good choice if you're looking for a versatile water bottle that won't break the bank, but just remember to manage your expectations when it comes to insulation and noise.

🔗Corkcicle 32oz Sport Canteen: Triple-Insulated, Wide-Mouth Drink Container with Quick Sip Lid

https://preview.redd.it/g8jdgja74r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5900642083119fc5f56b1e9d8f8477efab04f303
The Corkcicle 32oz Sport Canteen boasts a spacious 950mL capacity, perfect for hydration while on the go. Its quick sip lid adds convenience to everyday use, and the signature flat sides and Duraprene finish ensure a secure grip.
Triple-insulation maintains drinks at their desired temperature for extended periods, making it an ideal choice for both hot and chilled beverages alike. A wide mouth allows for ice cube insertion, while the lid's easy-to-use one-hand opening adds practicality.
Regrettably, some users have experienced issues with the lid's functionality and structure, which may prove a disadvantage for those seeking a seamless drinking experience. Nonetheless, for those seeking a durable, stylish, and functional water bottle, the Corkcicle 32oz Sport Canteen offers an impressive range of features.

🔗Versatile Insulated Water Bottle with Cup Lid

https://preview.redd.it/ba7lnum74r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4236dde9fc2a1109edb6d8a02ff4d627c9fb186e
This Stanley Classic Legendary Bottle, aptly named "Nightfall, " has become an essential companion in my daily life. The bottle's robustness and dependability have captivated me, as my newfound favorite keeps the brew piping hot during those frigid mornings or even chills your favorite beverage during scorching summer days.
One of the key features that have blown my mind is its innovative, leak-proof design. By using the twist-and-pour stopper, it ensures that my adventures are safe from any accidental mishaps involving the bottle. Moreover, the slim design makes it the perfect single-handed companion, ensuring a comfortable grip.
However, there are a couple of minor nits. The lid being insulated and doubling as a cup is a fantastic idea, but I found it a tad more tedious than convenient during my first few times. Additionally, while the bottle's sturdiness won my heart, it unfortunately lacks a wider mouth, which might make it a bit more practical for my soup-loving, chunky ingredients cravings.
The Stanley's performance has made me believe it's not just about the product but also about the spirit of adventure it represents - one sip at a time. Despite a few minor quirks, it's a reliable bottle worth every penny spent.

🔗Corkcicle Star Wars Darth Vader Canteen: Sleek and Stylish Insulated Travel Drink Bottle

Crafted in the image of the infamous Darth Vader, this Corkcicle Star Wars canteen is not just a stylish way to keep your drinks cool. The 16-ounce canteen promises to keep beverages cold for up to 25 hours or warm for 12, all thanks to its triple-insulated lining. Its stainless steel construction ensures it's not just durable but also perfect to use in any setting, be it by the pool or at the office. The canteen is equipped with a screw-on cap that prevents any liquid from escaping and keeps the temperature consistent inside. The ergonomic design and flat sides make it easy to grip, and its stay-put silicone base ensures it stays securely in your hand, avoiding any spills.
My experience with this canteen has been nothing but stellar. The Star Wars design is not just aesthetically pleasing but also adds a fun touch to my everyday life. The triple-insulation keeps my beverages at their desired temperature for longer, especially during our hot summers. The cap is a great feature that prevents leaks and spills, and the ergonomic design makes it comfortable to hold. However, I wish the product was dishwasher safe as the paint tends to peel off after a few uses, which can be a bit disappointing.

🔗Premium High-Performance Goalie Blades for Enhanced Ice Skating

I recently tried the Step Steel St Goal Blacksteel CCM Replacement Steel - Pair, and I was blown away by its performance. The superior edge quality is evident as it slices through the ice with minimal resistance, providing sharp, fluid movements that make it a game-changer for any goalie.
Designed specifically for CCM 2-Bolt Goalie Cowlings, this complete set comes with both left and right runners, ensuring perfect fit and seamless functionality. Made in Canada, the high-quality craftsmanship is evident in every aspect of the blade, from its sleek design to its exceptional edge durability.
While the hardest possible edge offered by Step Steel Black is undoubtedly impressive, I also appreciate the added Diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating on the mirror side finish, which significantly boosts blade performance by generating a winning combination of low friction and high surface hardness.
What sets Step Steel apart from other blade manufacturers is their innovative aspect ratio, which accelerates pushes across the crease for modern butterfly and hybrid goaltenders. The taller blades and truer profile offer added stability, precision, and width, ensuring less bending or improper sizing upon receiving the product.
Overall, the Step Steel St Goal Blacksteel CCM Replacement Steel - Pair is a game-changing product that combines superior edge quality, innovative design, and unrivaled performance. If you're looking to enhance your goaltending experience, look no further than Step Steel.

2024.05.21 11:07 HassanGulzar H6 Flow + Corsair QX Fans + USB2

I completed my build with the H6 Flow case. I went with 3x120mm QX + 3x120mm QX + 2x140mm QX corsair fans.
I ran into issues with the bottom fans and went flipping the bottom fans to exit air. That meant I had to reverse the top fans on the Kraken AIO as well.
CPU started to hit 75°C to 80°C as the liquid temps would stay above 55°C.
So, a friend who helped me with the build shared this post: My H6 Flow build ft. Corsair QX cooling. I went ahead and unlinked the 2x140mm fans at bottom and rotated them and used a cutter blade to shave off some plastic from the connecting 90-degree cable as well as to further flush in the fans.
The issue I have now is that I was using just one Corsair hub that allows for 2 device connections. That hub was handling the 6 fans (3 x Front + 3 x Top Radiator) linked + 2 x 140 linked. Now, it's handling the same (top + front) 6 fans + just one of the 140 mm bottom fans due to only two connection points.
I was able to add a second Corsair hub, power it, and connect the single 140mm. But I have no USB2 header left over on the motherboard: ASRock Z790 Steel Legend WiFi; as one USB2 header is occupied by the first Corsair hub and the other USB2 header is occupied by Kraken.
Added the second hub without a USB connection
Single 140mm Fan on second Hub
Made the 2 x 140mm as flush as possible while still avoiding cable damage
I was also planning to get a strix for the ugly 24-pin connector as well... The motherboard choice is also a limiting factor here.
Do I have option(s) to expand on the USB2 Headers?
I want to add a bit more rainbow bling to my setup. Do I go for a NZXT USB2 expansion Hub? Or the Corsair alternative?
I do not plan to add SSDs or HDDs so the small cage can be removed as well.

2024.05.21 08:44 RaceReport Race Report: NTTD Frontyard Ultra with Packing List [LONG]

Race Name: No Time To Die Frontyard Ultra
Start: Friday 17 May 12pm
Entrants: Just over 150
Location: Edge of Central Business District Adelade, South Australia (Victoria Park)
Lap distance: circa 6.71km
Total i raced: 115.3km - winner did 396km
Organisers: Ultra Series SA
Me: 35 Male, Australian
Training and lead up
I’ve been running for almost 2.5 years now, with a primary focus on Zone 2 base building for the last two years.
My running goals are too varied - with wanting a fast 5km (PB: 19:39), a sub-50 12.1km (PB: 51:30), the six major marathons (done one non-major, 3:48, impacted by double quad cramps), a BQ marathon time, and 100milers (done a 50km ultra, a trail mara, and a road mara).
However, this was to be an A Race.
Further, I started a Pfitz 18/55 marathon training block four weeks before the race with a 3:15 target, and diligently completed each planned run for the first two weeks.
Before the Pfitz block, I hit 93km in the week.
February was 244km, March was 276km, April was 260km, May-to-date is 206km (from 6 runs). 46km/week on average for last 12 months.
Specific training was 6 laps on-course, 7 laps from home (35degrees), 6 laps on-course.
Two weeks before the Frontyard Ultra, I hurt my Achilles in my circa 3rd run using Alphafly 3, setting a HM PB on a Pfitz training run. I then did a horrible 6.5km on the Saturday, then six laps of the frontyard ultra course on Sunday with tears in the eye from pain (my first 100km week).
Saw a GP on Monday, got an ultrasound on Tuesday, got ultrasound results on Wednesday, saw a sportsdoctor on Thursday.
Diagnosis: Sub-acute tendonitis, everything that could be inflamed is inflamed, and a bursa.
Sportsdoctor: “The risk of doing the ultramarathon without doing a rupture is acceptable, but the risk of a tear in the medium term is unacceptable without taking appropriate action. Do the ultra, then come back a week later (which is still two days from now) to start treatment. “
Everyone else in my life, including the GP: “don’t run.”
Had pain at rest for pretty much all of this time, and a reasonable amount over the following 8 days – but less so by a couple of days before the race. Over this 12 day period I only did one run, a fairly slow parkrun halfway-through.
Late decision: Do the race, but try to avoid doing a permanent injury, don’t set a distance goal, just focus on learning stuff for next year.
Pre-Race:
· Packing list included circa 85 items
· Got picked up at 9:20am, arrived 10:00am
· Had a premium gazebo site (#recommended), which cost an extra $50.
· Set-up took about 30 minutes -> Mainly fluffing around with getting the gazebos appropriately lined up on the pre-booked site.
· Toilet’s were inadequate for the first 8 hours or so before six more opened – but, by then, it was dark so bush wees were the order of the night.
· Target was originally 50mins per lap
· Weather was sunny and max of about 21, and a minimum of around 13/14.
Race:
Used Garmin FR955 with highish brightness, and most accurate GPS, which used around 4% battery per hour.
Laps:
48:35
49:45
50:01
49:06
47:52
49:20
50:04
50:15
50:29
52:18
51:37
51:30
51:24
50:45
51:30
53:30
56:53 (deliberately slow – knew it was the last lap – had already asked Wifey to pack up)
Started the 18th lap, just because, and rung the bell after 58seconds. One other person did too.
I started with a run 1km, walk 1km strategy, but this went out the window pretty quickly and became not-strict as I wanted to talk to certain other competitors -> eg, mates, acquaintances I knew from other races, Johan Botha (eventual winner with 59 laps, also shoutout to Joel Sexton for the assist), some guy wearing a UTMB 2023 top, etc – so I was more than happy to change when I walked/ran to have those conversations. I don’t think that negatively impacted me.
Also, as the race went on (from about lap 11), my comfortable running speed was slipping from originally 5:15/km through to 6 to 7:30mins, to even 8mins by the end, which meant needing to run for the significant majority of the lap, and/or running at an uncomfortable speed. My comfortable walking speed also increased from 9:30/km to 13:30/km.
I believe that there were 35 runners that completed lap 17.
A lot of others were trying to do 3mins run, 2 mins walk, or 5mins run, 3mins walk, or some other variant, at the start.
Nutrition:
Drink: I drank 500ml on each of about 11 of the first 13 laps (and 350ml on the other two), and averaged about 400ml a lap for the remaining four laps. I also drank between each lap. I generally alternated between Tailwind (100g of carbs)/Powerade (1.5L(90g carbs)) /maurten drink mix (40g carbs) and water, on top of two cups of coke and a can of solo. I weighed the same when I got home versus when I left home – implying I drank slightly too much but was pretty spot on (noting that I ate food, so, I essentially lost “water” weight equal to the weight of food I ate). I wish I had packed another tailwind or two.
I ate a lot:
Prerace: rice bubbles, juice, killer python, banana x2, peanut butter sandwich, small packet of crisps.
Each hour: Approx. 50-90g of carbs every hour (probably more than necessary, but, without having gut issues I am happy with this decision), including liquid carbs, 6 killer pythons (101g carbs), 3 sandwiches, a small handful of koda gels and two handfuls of maurten gels, 150g of Haighs Speckles, a banana, watermelon pieces, chicken crimpys, small packet of tiny teddy’s, 3 small bags of crisps, 2xnaak waffles, hot chips, few lollies, a little bit of soup, etc. Generally one or two pieces whilst running, and one piece between laps.
I can confidently remember 1028g of carbs (60.5g/hour) – but probably missed a couple of pieces of food. For clarity, I also ate a lot in the hour before the race that I’m not including in this 1028g.
Drugs: I also took Celecoxib (on-top of morning dose), 4Panadeine Forte, 2Panadeine, 2Panadol, 2Nurofen --< I couldn’t have done many laps without these.
Shoes: I started in RC Elite v2, started to get knee pain, changed to Superblast, got worse knee pain, changed back to RC Elite v2, got 2 killer blisters on the side of my heel, changed to SC Trainer and had no additional feet problems – but the blisters were genuinely painful.
Why did I quit?
It was 5am, and I didn’t think it was worth trying to make it to sunrise at 7:05. I was in pain and didn’t fancy taking more opioids (Palexia was all I had left that I could find), my gut was starting to think about maybe playing up, my original goal pre-injury was 15 laps, my longest previous run before was 53km, my wife had been crewing for 12 straight hours and seemed disappointed when I went out for one of my final laps (she was telling people I was about to quit from lap 11). I became worried I was going to be permanently injuring my Achilles / rupture it… but, yes, I could have kept going if I needed to.
Post race
Went home, showered, slept for 2hours.
Been in constant pain since.
My ankle has swollen and continued to swell since, and I can’t really bend it still, which means I can’t walk anywhere near properly. It got worse from straight after the race Saturday morning, through to Monday, and is now getting better again (Tuesday) and is similar to how it looked on Sunday, but with a bit more mobility.
Statistics from Garmin
· 142 average HR (my max is about 200)
· 9:49hours run, 5:00 walk, 2:12 rest
· 660 exercise load
· 492m ascent (491 descent).
Overall
A great race – if my Achilles is healed up, I’ll be back next year – hopefully with the sole target of timing out on a lap and not stopping until then.
I’m happy with how I performed, originally, I was a touch bummed I “couldn’t be bothered” pushing through when I was still making laps with 7 minutes to spare… but, given how swollen my ankle is three days later I know I made the right call to stop (and probably should have done so earlier!)… and, like I said, wifey had crewed all through the night for 12 straight hours already, so it was time to go.
For next year, I think I’ll try to find some people to crew me until midnight or something, then have wifey come down for the 1am lap, instead of being there from 4pm or 5pm.
I think I need to skip my next planned A race – the Adelaide marathon - to give me Achillies time to heal properly.

2024.05.21 08:15 Standard-Aerie-3537 Should recreational properties be bought with excess income only?

Hi all,
I have a question regarding liquidating financial assets to purchase a recreational property with a cabin with full utilities.
The property is for sale for about $100,000. Realestate tax is fairly low in the country I'm interested in purchasing (in europe). Interest rates on personal loans are also comparable to mortgage interest rates, which stand at around 4% compounded yearly in the country.
On the personal finance side, I try to contribute about a third of my income to a portfolio of stocks and bonds, both inside and outside a retirement savings account. This comes out to roughly $12,000 per year.
The ultimate point to my question is whether it's financially viable to buy a property like this, which cannot be used as a primary residence - buying it would mean I still have to pay rent at my primary residence. So although the property could be resold, I don't view it as an investment. The focus of my question is on the handling my securities investments.
The three options are 1) don't buy anything 2) finance 80% of the purchase or 3) buy outright. Each option successively requires the sale of more of my assets. Financing on a 10 year loan would require smaller sales of my securities and payments of somewhere between $800-1000 per month, which would be just under my annual contributions to investment accounts for the year.
It seems like you'd want to keep the money invested, so you don't alternatively pay the cost of missed asset appreciation by selling the invested securities. On the other hand, continual net contributions is what you want for building long-term wealth. From a strict financial perspective, not buying is the right answer. It seems you'd want to only buy with excess income after you've met your investing goals.
Am i thinking about this correctly? There is the chance that the property will appreciate in value and stay liquid, but I'm not counting on it.
Thanks in advance.

2024.05.21 07:22 Jenson-ecigs Why Does Auto-Firing Occur in Vapes?

In recent years, vaping has emerged as a popular alternative to traditional smoking, touted by some as a safer option. However, incidents like auto-firing — where a vape device activates on its own without user input — raise significant safety concerns. Understanding why this happens is crucial for health professionals on the front lines of patient education and public health. Let's dive into the mechanics behind auto-firing, the role of vape batteries, and what can be done to prevent such occurrences.

What is Auto-Firing?

Have you ever wondered what happens when a vape device fires itself? This phenomenon, known as auto-firing, occurs when electrical malfunctions within the device cause it to activate without user interaction. It's like having a car that starts on its own — not only unexpected but also potentially dangerous.

The Role of Vape Batteries

Vape batteries are the heart of any vaping device. They provide the power needed to heat the coil that vaporizes the liquid, and just like any other battery, they come with their own set of risks. Batteries' quality, type, and condition can significantly influence the likelihood of auto-firing incidents.

Common Causes of Auto-Firing

Several factors can lead to a vape device auto-firing:

Impact on Health

When a vape auto-fires, it can lead to overheating, which not only damages the device but can also cause more serious accidents, like burns or even explosions. These incidents can result in severe injuries; thus, understanding and mitigating these risks, including how to select e-liquids, is paramount for health professionals advising patients.

Preventive Measures

Encouraging proper maintenance and care of vaping devices is critical. Regular checks, using high-quality vape batteries, and replacing any worn-out parts can significantly reduce the risk of auto-firing.

Recognizing Faulty Vape Batteries

What does a faulty battery look like? Often, it may be swollen, leak, or show signs of damage. Educating users on how to inspect their batteries and when to replace them can prevent many auto-firing incidents.

Educating Patients and the Public

As health professionals, it’s essential to communicate the risks associated with improper vape use, including the dangers of auto-firing. Sharing information about safe practices can make a big difference in public health.

Regulatory Considerations

Discussing current regulations and standards can help patients understand the safety measures in place and the importance of choosing compliant products.

The Future of Vaping Safety

Looking ahead, advancements in technology and stricter safety regulations could help mitigate the risks associated with vaping, including auto-firing.

To Wrap It Up

Understanding the causes and consequences of vape auto-firing is crucial for health professionals and the vaping experience. We aim to decrease these incidents by sharing knowledge about safe vaping practices and emphasizing using reliable vape batteries. Healthcare professionals can contribute significantly to patient safety and well-being by engaging in informed discussions about vaping risks.

2024.05.21 06:06 St4r_5lut Drop your food lists

I wanna hear about everyones food lists- their safe foods, the things they use to make things bearable and/or healthy, the once in a year meals- any and all of it. It is late where I am right now, but I plan to make this a masterlist post to come back to and drop all of mine. It has been helping me a lot to see other peoples arfid recipes, so I hope to help others
Safe Foods/meals
- Baby bells - Goat Cheese (trader joes is best, but there's this brand with Vermont in the name, that's a good alternative) - Mac and Cheese (private selection 5 cheese, cook aldente or to your liking, add full cheese packet/ add half + any slice cheese, my pref is goat cheese and other seasoning. My fave seasonings are: chives, Italian seasoning, worschtersire of all thing) - Dominoes Pizza (small-medium handtossed Wisconsin six cheese, minus orange cheddar blend, sub tomato sauce for garlic parmesan)
Additives for health/bearing it
- Freeze dried and grounded up spinach for added nutrients - protein drinks (I haven't found one I can handle for more than a week though so I'll keep posted if I do)
Recipies
- (instapot or something of the sort re) Homemade yogurt - Get yogurt with active cultures, an amount of gallons of milk that's between one or two but I can't remember atm, keep it in the instapot overnight (i think like 20-26 hours, don't do this recipe yet till I am sure on this stuff) - Protein smoothies (cherry juice, raspberries but not a lot bc seeds, banana, strawberry, sometimes peach, maybe peanut butter if you're feeling spicy, and milk. On protein, you can use protein powder, but I found that using liquid whey is super beneficial).
Anyways, lets talk about foods!!

2024.05.21 04:53 TerpyySlurpee AURATHERAPEUTICS - Harbour LR Night Cart 🥭

AURATHERAPEUTICS - Harbour LR Night Cart 🥭
Grandaddy Bruce (Grandaddy Purple x Bruce Banner) 800mg/g - 85% THC Live Resin.
Indica Dominant.
RRP: $187 - 2g
Total Terps: 4.28%. Dominant Terps: Myrcene (🥭, 🍊) 1.10%, Terpinolene (🌲,🍍) 0.90%, Beta-Caryophyllene (🌶️, 🌍) 0.67%, Limonene (🍋, 🍋‍🟩) 0.31%.
The Cart came in a little Box and the actual cart itself was in this small little bag that once opened cannot be shut again so I cut a small corner of the side so I can only just slide it back in if I want to put it away. Wasn’t a big fan of the packaging as it’s hard to store safely.
Most of the Carts on the Market are all distillates, extracting the thc and adding in terpenes which is normally not good for you the way they process this. The difference between Distillates and Live resin is that Live resin is designed to have the highest terpene levels of just about any concentrate, while distillate has incredibly high THC levels and almost no terpenes.
A weed distillate cart is created through, of course, the process of distillation. The process of distillation allows a particular cannabinoid to be separated from the many compounds found in cannabis. Distillation strips out all the non-cannabinoid plant material, including terpenes and flavonoids. Those may be added back into the oil after distillation to improve flavor and aroma.
Live resin is a high-quality extract with a complex production method. However, these carts offer a much different experience and profile. Live resin is a concentrate with a high volume of terpenes and cannabinoids. Rather than isolating a specific compound, live resin utilizes the whole cannabis plant to create a liquid with a range of bioactive and inactive compounds and plant material. In fact, the chemical profile of live resin is extremely close to what’s found in the original plant.
I’ve had around half of the Live resin cart now. And I will say that it hits harder than the shatter through an E-rig so there’s that. For the price range and the amount of grams and how chunky the product is, I think it is very worth getting this. I haven’t tried the sativa one (Watermelon Zkittles) as I have plenty of high Terp sativa flowers but the indica is very good for bed time. 10minutes of hitting the cart before bed and I don’t wake up through the night which with flower I seem to have the issue of waking up in the middle of the night and then the high has wore of I normally find it hard to then get back to sleep but this is perfect for eliminating that problem.
I Vaporised mine in the TOQI 510 Cart Battery, it’s a neat little battery that holds twice as much battery as a normally cart battery and was designed by a top nasa engineer. I’ve been using it for a while and I must say it is top quality for a cart battery.
Vaporising the cart on the lowest setting (light blue) and I got a really nice smooth mango/orange taste, also a fresh piney earth taste and finally an undertone Lemon and citrus. I waited a good 5-10minutes and the effects was really nice, started to get heavy eye, my mind felt euphoric yet relaxed and ready to lay down and rather not do much or sleep. I did notice the middle setting was the best for sleep and around 5-8pm the first setting is good to get into that feeling but I normally have flower around that time. The higher settings really brought out the myrcene and also the Caryophyllene which made it sometimes a little harsh especially on the highest setting but that’s normal.
Other than that this cart is probably the best cart I’ve had yet whilst being on medical. I’d give it a solid 8/10. Definitely wanting some Hash Rosin carts.

2024.05.21 04:37 micdean19 Leveraged portfolios across different assets in Taxable account?

Hi, just looking for some 2nd opinions and thoughts on this portfolio.
Recently I liquidated, VTI/VXUS/AVUV/AVDV to RSSB/AVUV/AVDV in my taxable account. For simplicity, just assume that's the only account I have. My 401k is really limited in terms of offerings.
Jumping to the question, I want to add more than 100% equity but I'm having a hard time thinking of how that's tax efficient and easy to rebalance. To me I'd like to do that while keeping it super simple. I'm debating adding RSST since Managed Futures (Trend following is a better term imo) is a strong diversifier and is also leveraged in US stocks. Other alternatives is adding UPRO.
I don't know how to backtest RSST oand the tax effiency of UPRO/RSST in a brokerage account. But I tried, here it is: https://testfol.io/?d=eJytUNFKw0AQ%2FJWy4Fu0abE%2B5M0SA0UjpanBIiWsuUt7er2rl7OllPy7l6TWJC1BwXs4dplhZnb2sODyFfkYFa5ScPaQalQ6IqgpOAAWUEEqW4lukIPTs82zAMlbxETCUTMpwNHqk1oQY7pMuNyCY%2F8sUaLoh5HxpdBLvjNqSnLOxCLaMkFy8o2dWbCWSieSM2nivOxB4Cr3DqeGz8SGptplG0ZMrPTbTVFzAYqYeqXBoxTUsDWL36kqVcq50AlGvgHXVMVU6OKMbG4BUbgwaTPr6DiwLzqTIBh2up3D%2BIcIM4qqOPF3IQaF8RG%2F9x%2F85xY8HPpeG37neZMafplfWWWk651WDYWzLeQNdG%2FDp9B8bvhfBbheENYC9uvx3FED7zUKaBZ43b8atFd4wjgp8YQRjGfTSSvjfNGVIufZF2zJFgk%3D

Edit 1: After considering the tax drag of RSST in a taxable account and the ER, I'm leaning on avoiding it. So will stick to my initial thesis of a risk parity between stock and bonds. The real existential threat of this LEFT Portfolio would be another reoccurence of 2022. i.e. an inflationary environment that simulatneously destroys bonds and stocks. However Managed Futures are just too expensive, too tax inefficient and has been a drag over the past 2 decades (even AQR long short) for me to consider it in the near or mid term.

Embark on Your Amazon Reselling Adventure

Step into the dynamic realm of Amazon reselling, where opportunities abound, and innovation drives success. This comprehensive guide will reveal the strategies to navigate guidelines, overcome restrictions, and master best practices for unparalleled achievements.
Picture a vibrant marketplace where your entrepreneurial dreams can take flight—a space where small and medium-sized businesses thrive. In 2022, independent sellers in Amazon’s U.S. store sold over 4.1 billion products, with average sales reaching an impressive $230,000. This isn't just an aspiration; it's a reality waiting for you to grasp.
Your journey begins with essential questions: Where can you source items to resell on Amazon? How can you turn branded products into profitable ventures? This guide serves as your roadmap, offering a step-by-step approach to building a successful reselling empire in the expansive Amazon marketplace.

Understanding Reselling

Reselling goes beyond a mere business model; it's a refined craft. It's about unearthing valuable items from unexpected sources and offering them to eager buyers. Here’s your strategic guide:
  1. Research Product Demand:
    • Market Analysis: Dive deep into current market trends and consumer preferences. Use tools like Jungle Scout, Helium 10, and Google Trends to identify products with high demand and low competition.
    • Competitor Analysis: Study your competitors to understand their pricing strategies, customer reviews, and sales volumes. This will help you identify gaps in the market and potential opportunities.
    • Seasonal Trends: Keep an eye on seasonal trends and upcoming events that could boost demand for specific products.
  2. Procure the Products:
    • Reliable Suppliers: Establish relationships with reputable suppliers and wholesalers. Websites like Alibaba, SaleHoo, and local trade shows can be excellent sources.
    • Quality Control: Always inspect the quality of the products before purchasing in bulk. Request samples if possible to ensure they meet your standards.
    • Negotiation: Don't hesitate to negotiate prices and terms with suppliers to maximize your profit margins.
  3. List the Products Online:
    • Product Listings: Create detailed and compelling product listings. Use high-quality images, thorough descriptions, and relevant keywords to improve your visibility on Amazon.
    • Competitive Pricing: Research the pricing strategies of similar products and set competitive prices. Consider using dynamic pricing tools to adjust your prices based on market conditions.
    • SEO Optimization: Optimize your product listings for search engines by incorporating relevant keywords, bullet points, and customer reviews.
  4. Handle Shipping and Fulfillment:
    • Self-Fulfillment: If you choose to handle shipping yourself, ensure you have a reliable system in place for packaging, labeling, and dispatching orders promptly.
    • Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA): Alternatively, you can use Amazon’s FBA service, where Amazon handles storage, packing, and shipping. This can save you time and provide faster delivery options to your customers, but consider the costs involved.
  5. Manage Inventory and Customer Service:
    • Inventory Management: Keep track of your stock levels to avoid overselling or stockouts. Use inventory management software to automate the process and forecast future needs.
    • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries promptly, addressing issues efficiently, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Positive reviews and ratings can significantly impact your sales.
    • Returns and Refunds: Have a clear policy for returns and refunds. Handle returns professionally to maintain a good reputation and build trust with your customers.
By mastering these aspects of reselling, you'll be well-equipped to transform your business into a thriving venture on Amazon.

Decoding Profit Margin

Profit margin isn’t just a figure; it’s the heartbeat of your reselling venture. It determines whether your business merely survives or truly thrives. Here’s how to strike the perfect balance between competitive pricing and maintaining a healthy profit margin to ensure your reselling dreams stay afloat:
  1. Understanding Profit Margin:
    • Gross Profit Margin: This is the difference between the selling price and the cost of goods sold (COGS), expressed as a percentage. It reflects the profitability of your products before accounting for other expenses.
    • Net Profit Margin: This includes all expenses, such as shipping, fulfillment fees, advertising, and other operational costs. It's the true measure of your business’s profitability.
  2. Calculating Your Profit Margin:
    • Formula:
      • Gross Profit Margin = [(Selling Price - COGS) / Selling Price] x 100
      • Net Profit Margin = [(Selling Price - Total Expenses) / Selling Price] x 100
    • Example: If you sell a product for $100, and the COGS is $60, your gross profit margin is 40%. After including $20 for other expenses, your net profit margin would be 20%.
  3. Balancing Pricing and Profit:
    • Competitive Pricing: Research your competitors to set a price that is attractive to customers while still allowing you to make a profit. Avoid the temptation to underprice your products significantly, as this can erode your profit margins.
    • Value Proposition: Justify higher prices by emphasizing the unique value your products offer, such as superior quality, better customer service, or additional features.
  4. Reducing Costs:
    • Bulk Purchasing: Buying in larger quantities can lower your COGS due to discounts from suppliers.
    • Streamlined Operations: Use efficient inventory management and fulfillment processes to reduce operational costs.
    • Shipping Options: Explore various shipping methods to find cost-effective solutions that do not compromise delivery speed.
  5. Monitoring and Adjusting:
    • Regular Reviews: Frequently review your profit margins to identify trends and make adjustments as needed. This could involve tweaking prices, negotiating better deals with suppliers, or finding ways to cut operational costs.
    • Dynamic Pricing: Consider using dynamic pricing strategies that adjust based on market demand, competition, and inventory levels.
By carefully managing your profit margins, you ensure that your reselling business remains profitable and sustainable in the long run.

Is Reselling Your Calling?

Reselling appeals to those with a keen eye for lucrative opportunities, particularly in the following areas:
  1. Limited-Availability Items:
    • Scarcity Power: Capitalize on the limited availability of certain products. When demand outstrips supply, prices can soar, allowing you to turn a tidy profit.
    • Examples: Limited-edition sneakers, concert tickets, or special collaboration items.
  2. Exclusive or Rare Items:
    • Rare Collectibles: Seek out and sell rare collectibles, vintage treasures, and unique artworks. These items often attract discerning buyers willing to pay a premium.
    • Examples: Antique furniture, rare coins, vintage clothing, and limited-edition art prints.
  3. Seasonal Products:
    • Seasonal Waves: Leverage the high demand for seasonal items, such as holiday decorations, outdoor gear, and summer accessories. Timing is crucial to maximize sales during peak seasons.
    • Examples: Christmas lights, Halloween costumes, summer camping gear, and winter sports equipment.
  4. Clearance or Discounted Items:
    • Discounted Deals: Purchase items on clearance or at a discount and resell them at market value. This strategy allows you to profit from the price difference.
    • Examples: End-of-season clothing, overstock electronics, and discounted home goods.
  5. High-Demand Products:
    • Trending Items: Maintain a steady supply of trending products that are in high demand. Selling these items at competitive prices ensures a consistent flow of sales.
    • Examples: Popular tech gadgets, fitness equipment, beauty products, and fashionable accessories.
If you possess the knack for identifying these opportunities, reselling could be your calling. It’s about recognizing value where others might not and delivering that value to eager buyers, ultimately transforming your skills into a profitable venture.

Setting Sail with an Amazon Seller Account

Embark on your reselling adventure by choosing the right Amazon seller plan to suit your needs:
  1. Individual Plan:
    • Cost: $0.99 per product sold plus applicable selling fees.
    • Ideal For: Those just starting out or selling in smaller quantities.

    • Ideal For: Sellers with higher sales volumes or more extensive inventory.
    • Advantages: Access to advanced selling tools, eligibility for top placement on product detail pages, and the ability to sell in restricted categories.

Choosing the Right Plan

Evaluate your inventory size and sales expectations to determine the best plan for you. Here are some key considerations:

Utilize Amazon’s Tools

To maximize your profitability, leverage Amazon’s free tools:
By carefully selecting the right seller plan and utilizing Amazon’s resources, you can set sail on a successful reselling journey, navigating the vast Amazon marketplace with confidence.
The Art of Retail Arbitrage

First, a little about me. I'm 5'5ish, 135ish depending on the day, and have dark brown hair that falls part way down my back with brown eyes. My mom is a Crow (Native American) and my dad is Italian so the olive complexion genes are active in my family. I've got a fairly petite/athletic build with a 32B chest and a toned butt. My nipples are dark brown, on the smaller side, and I shave everywhere. I'm a fan of tattoos and have a feather on my foot, flower pieces on my right hip into my lower ribs, left shoulder, and lower back, a small script piece in my left side bra line, a green carebear in my left bikini line and a large dream catcher down my left ribs. If there's a detail I've left out, feel free to ask ;)
What a week. 18 year old me had gone from a dry spell since AIT and graduation to a blow job, facial, and quick hard sex with a married captain at my first duty station. I was falling fast and hard for him. I wanted him to want me. I wanted him to think of me when he thought of being intimate. I wanted to be his release to do everything she wouldn't.
Dustin snapped me this morning, a pic of his obvious buldge greeting my day. "How's my little Private this morning? I wish you were here to help with this"....You have no idea Dustin. Now that the bandaid has been ripped off, I want nothing more than to keep going. I send him a snap back of my semi sheer, black athletic thong, holding it open in the front with the caption "you could drop your load right in here sir". Naughty I know. For some reason, the thought of him filling my underwear with cum is erotic and in the moment, I crave the feel of his warmth between my legs.
"Come by the house on your lunch break and you can have it" I get in reply. Fuck.
I get dressed in my camo uniform with a generic sports bra and the same black athletic thong underneath and try make it through the morning as routinely as possible. Not possible. All I can think of is what I'm willing to do for the married man I'm lusting for and it's got my mind anywhere but at work.
Dustin let's me know he left early for lunch so he's ready whenever I am. The whole drive over, my mind is racing at the prospect of what's about to happen. I knock and find the door open, with Dustin on the couch, laptop open to some semi sexy photos I'd sent to tease him over the last week while he strokes his firm shaft. "Private Hannah reporting as ordered sir" I say as sexily as I can muster in the spur of the moment.
"Private Hannah, you said you'd found a place to hold my cum" completely keeping character.
"Yes sir" I say, stepping around to stand in front of him, undoing my belt and the buttons on my pants, letting them drop to the floor around my ankles.
"Open up then, I'm already close since you decided to be late"
I hold open the front of my black athletic thong, exposing my shaved pubic area for his inspection.
"At least you remembered to shave to start the week" he says and he builds the pace of his stroking and touches the tip of his penis against my smooth skin. In moments I see him start to swell as he nears his release. A thick rope of white cum erupts from his tip and is followed by a second, third, and fourth. My underwear is filled with his thick, warm release and soon its soaked, mixing with my own minor arousal that has built at the situation. As he finishes, I let go of my waistband and allow my cum soaked thong to cling to my lower lips, teasing me with what could have been.
I pull my pants back up and stand breathless in front of eachother. It's been less than 10 minutes since I walked through the door, we've barely spoken and now his cum is dripping down my inner thigh. What has happened? I feel like an incredibly erotic play thing that's been used for a passing moment of pleasure and right then, I know I'm hooked.
"Hannah, I'm sorry if that was too much" Dustin says, coming to the realization that I'm now back in uniform with his cum filling my panties.
I kiss him square on the lips. "Shhhh babe. I wanted this. I want all of you"
"So you really liked that?"
"Dustin that has got to be one of the hottest things I've ever tried. I'm not changing for work"
I sit on his couch in a pool of his release while we chat for the remainder of our lunch hour. When it's time to go, I feel a glob of him drip down my leg. "Can I come spend the night tonight?" I ask, hoping to get my own release after work.
"Sure hun, I just have a few calls to make but it's okay"
I head back to work with a kiss goodbye and the rest of the day I can feel the stickiness between my legs and it keeps me on edge. I run back to my barracks room, take a fast shower, grab a change of clothes for tomorrow, and something special for tonight. I throw on some gym shorts and a hoodie over my sports bra. Coupled with my slides and I'm back across post and find a note on the door "on a call, be quite when you come in"
I come in and quietly shut the door and make my way past Dustin in the livingroom, obviously on a video chat with someone with the screen facing the wall to the garage. I hear a woman's voice say "oh man those walls are paper thin, I think I just heard the neighbors kids come home from school"
Oh shit, he's on with his wife I realize as I tiptoe my way to the master bedroom where I change into my suprise. Naked in his bedroom, I slip into a teal, sheer lace bra with enough underwire support to give me a little cleavage. I pull on a matching set of panties with an intricate sheer lace front and a single thin string between my cheeks in the back. I fold up my sticky cum soaked thong from earlier and walk back into the livingroom.
Dustin does a double take as I come around the corner. He covers this with a coughing fit as his wife asks if he's okay. "Yeah hun just had an itch in my throat" and they continue chatting, her oblivious to the fact that I've just sat down across from him.
I look him square in the eyes as I begin to tease my dark brown nipples through my sheer lace bra. As he tries to hold a conversation, I do everything I can to lightly tease him. I pinch and massage my breasts, softly run a finger between my legs on top of my lacy bottoms. I stand up and start to stretch, bending forward to let my small breasts hang just out of sight of his camera before turning around and bending forward, reaching back to spread my bum and letting the g-string bury itself between my cheeks, barely keeping my other tight hole from view.
I turn back around and unfold the sticky thong he came in earlier and hold it up for him to see the stain his release left on them, right between the legs. I pull my teal lace thong down in the front, and standing right behind his computer, I begin to lightly tease myself with the soft fabric of the back athletic thong, gently massaging my clit, resoaking the nearly dry panties with another round of sexual arousal.
As my arousal grows, I gradually push into my slick entrance and with one finger and then another, the soft athletic fabric of my underwear once again getting soaked as I rub my clit with them, teasing myself with the over stimulating feel against my raw bundle of nerves. I squat down, my face now right behind the computer screen as I squeeze my breast and open my mouth in a silent moan, performing for the man who can't respond.
All of a sudden I stop, ending my tease at the edge of release, not wanting to slip and give away what's going on...and to tease Dustin further. I stand up, place the arousal and cum soaked black thong on the table right behind his laptop and I walk to the kitchen and begin working on dinner with whatever ingredients I can scrounge up in the kitchen. It's such a turn on to do such a normal task in such a small set of lingerie and I secretly hope that Dustin is sneaking peeks at me from across the house.
At long last I feel warm, strong hands wrap around my waist and a kiss finds my cheek. "How's my baby girl, you little tease?"
I blush at the pet name the gentle touch. "I'm almost done, go sit down you silly boy" I say as I start to plate our dinner of chicken and grilled veggies, sauntering into the dining room like a server at one of those lingerie sports bars.
"So you sure know how to put on a show, Hannah" Dustin says as we begin to eat
"I can be anything you want me to be" I say as I begin a speech I'd thought through in my head, telling Dustin that I don't want casual, I want to be the girl he craves, the one who does the things that no one else does, who let's him try the things he's only imagined I'm his wildest sessions alone with himself.
"What do you get out of all of this?" He asks, questioning this step towards commitment.
"I get to explore myself and act out my cravings without having to deal with all the rumors of barracks and searching for guys to feel safe with. I don't want to be your wife. I just want you to forget her when your with me, and I want you to think of me when you choose how to play"
"Well if you're going to explore, we're going to have to push you out of your comfort zone and actually find new places and things to try"
My heart is racing as fantasies flood through my mind. "What do you have in mind?"
"Just play along with different roles and we'll see what happens baby girl"
Baby girl....is this role number one? Does Dustin think that with our 8 year age gap and my petite frame that we could play out what I think he wants to play? I did just tell him that I want to be the one he thinks of.
"Yes daddy"
"Good Girl"
I. Am. Wet.
"So what did you have in mind for dessert baby girl?"
I stand up, clean up, take Dustin by the hand. "These can end up on the floor too" i say motioning to my sheer lingerie.
"Not yet" he replies, guiding me back to the bedroom.
I find myself once again on Dustin's bed, this time guided into the center, onto my hands and knees. With gentle pressure between my shoulder blades, I drop to my elbows, arching my back and exposing my entrances to open view, my modesty preserved only by the thin g-string buried between my cheeks.
Dustin pulls that to the side, bringing my arousal fully into view. I shudder as a soft, wet tongue traces it's way teasingly between my parted lips, beginning at the bundle of nerves aching in my core and ending in the tight wet hole that's been longing to be filled since I started my teasing back at lunch. I moan a soft sigh of want as Dustin licks me again and again, using his thumbs to spread me open before teasing the inner entrance of my now soaked vagina with his oral stimulation.
After a few breathless minutes of almost over the edge teasing with his tongue, Dustin traces his tongue higher. My eyes go wide and my breath catches in my throat as his tongue glides across my other hole. After a brief pause, he repeats his elongated trail of tongue teasing a second and third time, ending on my bum every time.
I moan "Don't stop, daddy" as his tongue lingers on my hole, swirling around my rear entrance as his calloused fingers reach between my legs to tease my clit. I am so close as his tongue makes headway into my hole which is opening up for him at his constant stimulation.
"I'm going to fill you up baby girl" Dustin leans down and whispers in my ear, his tongue momentarily replaced by his thumb pressing further into my bum, slick with his saliva.
"Please daddy" I moan in reply, eager to keep my promise to do everything his wife won't do.
Dustin pulls away completely and reaches into his wife's nightstand. I see him pull out a bottle of lube and a silver plug with a red jeweled heart on the end, still in its packaging, unopened, unplayed with. I know what's coming and why we're playing this out right now.
Dustin removes the plug from its package and holds it tip first up to my lips. I know what he wants without saying a word. I stick out my tongue and lightly tease the cold metal tip, softly swirling circles around it, further and further down until I bob my head down, taking the whole plug in my mouth and closing my lips around the base. I look up at Dustin, the jeweled heart of the plug between my lips and softly moan in anticipation.
He pulls it out of my mouth and I seductively tease the tip one last time. "Wanna stick it in my ass daddy?" I beg as sexily as possible. After a few seconds of fumbling around with the lube bottle, I feel the cold liquid land on my hole, followed by a finger gently probing my already relaxed entrance. A moment later, the finger is replaced by the cold lubed plug and my breath catches in my throat as I stretch around the plug before closing down tightly on the base. Dustin moves my g-string back into place, covering my soaking wet lips and holding the plug firmly in my butt.
I look back at him pleadingly. I know I teased you hard earlier but if you stop now, this is just cruel. "Daddy please" I say breathlessly, not wanting the stimulation to stop while also acutely aware of the fullness inside my rear.
"Please what?"
"Please fuck me daddy"
"You have two options Hannah. You teased me, so this is a tease for you. You can go to bed, right now, right like this, or you can get your punishment and then a reward like a good girl. Bed or a spanking, your choice"
"Spank me Daddy" I beg without a moment's hesitation
smack the sharp crack of Dustin's hand on my bare cheek takes me by suprise and I clench hard on the plug inside my bum. "Oh fuck daddy" I moan in a mix of pain and pleasure. smack smack smack come three more successive blows, landing on alternating cheeks. I moan almost tearfully as my arousal builds to the point that I'm literally ready to beg for release.
"Daddy please fuck me. Do whatever you want just let me cum please"
A firm tug pulls my g-string down to my knees, still on all fours with my face in the pillows. A hard shaft rubs between my lower lips, finds my eager entrance, and in one firm thrust is buried all the way inside me. I cry out, looking back over my shoulder at Dustin who looks like a man possessed with the overwhelming urge to use me for his pleasure, and in that moment, it's all I want as well.
His firm hands grip my hips and I arch my back, throwing myself back against him to meet his own rapid thrusts. My cheeks clap a faster and faster pace as the overwhelming feeling of being completely filled mixes with the intense pleasure of the moment. I'm red faced and breathless, moaning Dustin's name as he continues in an unrelenting pace, thrusting in and out, in and out. At one point he pulls my face out of the pillows, gripping my long dark hair by my ponytail and commands "You're gonna be a good girl and cum for daddy"
He releases my hair but I remain facing forward, head up and moaning through the moment "Yes daddy, oh my fuuuuuuuuuckkkk" comes from my innocent lips as he simultaneously pulls out the buttplug and buries himself all the way inside me as I can feel him swell and begin to release against my cervix.
"That's right daddy, cum inside my pussy" I beg as he thrusts again and again as my inner walls clench down and my own release spills out of me, uncontained as I find one of the strongest orgasms of my life. His thrusts slow and eventually he pulls out, leaving me leaking cum and lube from both my holes.
He returns with a warm towel and begins to clean me off as I sit up, still in my sheer bra, and kiss him firmly on the lips. "That was incredible, daddy" I whisper, my forehead resting against his as he finishes cleaning my sensitive areas.
"Would you like to rinse off?"
I reply yes and he runs us a sensual warm shower, where nothing but gentle washing and a few lingering kisses happens. He's patient as I take extra time under the soothing water and wraps me in a soft towel when I get out.
As we get dressed into comfy pajama shorts and tshirts, I ask "so was I a good girl, daddy?"
"The best. I think we should stick with this role for awhile if you're into it"
After the time I had tonight, I'm more than willing to play along. We discuss some likes and dislikes and limits (nothing that leaves a mark where I'll have to answer questions about it at work), and reagree that none of this is a thing on the few occasions that his wife visits during her internship. And duh, no telling work, that would fuck us both.
We end the night with gentle pillow talk, and he asks if,for the role, I'd be willing to let him help me get dressed in the mornings, helping me pick out bras and undies from a selection of things I'd actually wear to work. I welcome the increased interaction and dedicated time to talk every morning without a second thought, and I fall asleep with his arm wrapped around me from behind, his strong hand under my tshirt, soothingly placed on my bare stomach, just below my belly button and just teasingly far enough into the area covered by a bikini. I'm in heaven.

2024.05.21 01:27 MrPurplesPerspective A comprehensive breakdown. [DD] Please Read.

The current situation as of Monday May 20th after market.
Today has gone rather well, you should all be proud of yourselves. You are a true community and I count myself lucky to be considered among your ranks. Thank you. Alright, enough with the sentiment. Here's what we're looking at:
We have had resounding success in our squeeze attempts especially last week, but this isn't over. Too many of us are still hurting and hungry. The short sellers have only grown bolder with their conviction, therefore we must in kind.
Faraday Future is a Chinese auto manufacturer out of California. Their focus is building the next generation of AI powered electric luxury vehicles. They have had a rough go at things, I'll be honest. Primarily meeting dead lines, they even faced a recall once. Does that mean that they are doomed to bankruptcy and better left forgotten?
There are plenty of tech companies that are started with the intention of disruption and not worrying about revenue. Look at every business that started by operating at a loss. It's most businesses in existence. They have just started making deliveries. 10 in total in 2023. Doesn't sound like a lot does it? Yet they still have products on the street. We look at $3,000,000 and think yeah so what? That's for 10 cars. What happens when there's 1,000 cars out on the street? You can go ahead and add two more zeros. Is it a niche market? Yes. But in the US, 2023 alone accounted for the sale of 2.6 million luxury vehicles.
Let's talk about AI for a second. Can you go anywhere online without having AI slap you in the face? It is being developed at break neck speeds, anyone worth their salt will tell you that it will redefine every aspect of life as we know it. It is our future and it's coming whether we are ready for it or not.
These cars were designed solely around this idea. As the technology develops we will see it incorporated more and more into everyday life. To me that sounds like an early adopter. Will there be hiccups? Absolutely. But how far have things come in such a short amount of time?
The cars are sleek and surprisingly powerful boasting over 1,000 horsepower. I have absolutely zero doubts that AI cars are the future of transportation.
One last thing before I get into the technicals.
Elon Musk.
Regardless about how you feel about the man, he has a certain X factor. Whether that's his disregard for the wellbeing of his customers, company, employees, self image, or the SEC, he's a rather polarizing figure. People either love him or hate him. I'm not advocating for either side. But one thing is clear, Tesla isn't doing so hot. Between the cyber truck(love it or hate it) or the stiff competition it's facing from traditional automakers, his biggest prospect is the supercharger network.
This may speak to how niche the demand for electric vehicles is, but it also may speak to how driving a Telsa comes across. There are people that would rather not be associated with the man's actions and opinions. The target audience of EVs are people that are generally environmentally conscious. This seldom aligns with Musks political ideals.
Faraday still has a chance at the prospect of disruption.
Now to the technicals.
FFIE
Despite the successful squeeze of short sellers, short interest in FFIE still remains high at 95.37% at time of writing.
Borrowing fees for shorting the the stock are quite high at 11.57% at time of writing.
The possibility of a short squeeze is determined by various factors, these factors include but are not limited to:
-Short interest - % of shares borrowed
-Borrow fees - % of fees to borrow shares
-Buying pressure - ratio of buyers to sellers
-Days to cover - the time it takes for short sellers to cover their shares by buying them
-Catalyst - a lightning rod
It is paramount that these things align to create the perfect storm in order for the chance of a short squeeze to occur.
The fact that we have successfully used this tactic recently has emboldened short sellers and has dug them in. It'll take more than buying up shares to make them fold.
We know that we have 3 pieces out of 5, we're only missing the final 2.
Days to cover and a catalyst.
Days to cover needs to be high, as it will make them struggle to cover themselves when they start to incur losses the longer we can prolong that the more suseptible to losses and thus panic they will be.
Days to cover is calculated with a rather simple formula: number of shares shorted/the volume of shares traded.
In order to raise this number, we must dry up liquidity. We do that by holding. We have been operating at history making volumes and it's truly impressive but now we must attempt to narrow this down to focused bursts. For every buy there is a sell, and if the short sellers can just buy immediately the days to cover will remain low. Saving them from stress and extreme losses.
As for the catalyst, well, we've kind of already got that sorted. NASDAQ compliance, we hold them off until the CEO has his webcast, this also coincides with earnings. Now this one is a bit of a double edged sword. Failing to remain Nasdaq compliant could spook short sellers out of their positions, but it could also be seen as a bullish situation for the company. We, of course, will take advantage of the latter. Which mean we must hold them off until the 28th of May. Any news will be good news at this point. He may even address the share price directly.
If we combine these things properly and we won't just create the perfect storm, we will become the perfect storm.
Final notes.
SEC Alternative Uptick policy will no longer be in effect tomorrow. This is okay, but it will likely cause the naked sellers to come back out of the woodwork. What they are doing is illegal and unethical. Do not fear them for they are cowards and cheats.
I am grateful to all of you, some of you have faced so much to be with us here and you are all appreciated. Each one of us thanks you.
Apes together strong.
This is not financial advice, and this is for educational purposes only, never gamble with money that you can not afford to lose. Please.
This is a perspective brought to you by Mr.Purple. Thanks for reading.

2024.05.20 23:53 ar_david_hh Armenia on 2024-05-20

11-minute read.

Armenia's military industry is developing

HOST: The share of the domestic arms industry in the armed forces has been rising in recent years. The state has decided to create easier conditions for the development of the industry.
HIGH-TECH MINISTER (Mkhitar Hayrapetyan): Whatever is possible to produce in Armenia with the use of Armenian scientific potential and manufacturing capacities should be done domestically to minimize reliance on imports. The myth that Armenian producers are incapable of creating high-quality products has been shattered.
At the moment, there are ֏170 billion ($438 million) in contracts signed between the defense ministry and 27 representatives of domestic industry. We expect to bring it to ֏190 billion ($490 million) by the end of this year by involving two more companies.
Most contracts are about communication tools, control systems, radio-electronic warfare tools, drones, modernization activities, etc.
LEONID NERSISYAN (expert): It's not a secret that hefty investments were made in the manufacturing of drones. We've also seen a production of 122 mm and 82 mm shells; it's necessary to expand to 155 mm because we are purchasing new [Indian] artillery that uses those.
HIGH-TECH MINISTER: (1) The state is enacting legislative reforms to make the industry attractive for investments. (2) We are promoting R&D for new technologies and the generation of new ideas. We are financing research activities, the creation of prototypes, and their experimentation. The chain ends when a company's product passes the state experimentation process and enters serial production.
HOST: In 2018 the scientific-research budget was ֏2.4B. Today it's ֏4.1B ($10.6M), with an additional ֏1.5B dedicated for prototypes.
MHER MARKOSYAN (expert): We need more laser tech experts. The state must cherish mil. industry employees and encourage young scientists to gain experience.
HIGH-TECH MINISTER: As part of the 2024 budget, we do have a component to train and retrain industry experts. New specialists must enter this industry.
MHER MARKOSYAN: The war in Ukraine has made it more difficult to import components. Something that would normally take 1 week now requires 5 months. There are also horrible logistics problems. We do find solutions to import products but these solutions are expensive.
LEONID NERSISYAN: Even countries under the UN's embargo are able to import weapons so it's a matter of price. For example, it turns out that 70% of the electronics inside North Korean missiles are American.
HOST: Some Armenian manufacturers have reached international levels and could soon begin to export their products. However, there are logistic complications here as well. For example, in 2021 Armenia faced difficulty transporting the mockups of larger weapons to the Abu Dhabi expo [Moscow forced the jet carrying Armenian products to be unloaded and kept delaying the cargo's transfer to Abu Dhabi].

India's Ambassador about defense cooperation between India and Armenia

AMBASSADOR: Our defense cooperation is proceeding very well. Defense cooperation is not only defense technical cooperation, but also we are looking at capacity building. On both fronts, we are proceeding very well.
REPORTER: During a joint press conference with MOD Papikyan, the Greek Minister spoke about the possibility of Armenia-Greece-France-India quadrilateral cooperation in the defense area.
AMBASSADOR: All 4 states have very good relations but at the moment it is still premature to talk about a quadrilateral format. But yes, there are convergences.
REPORTER: The Indian government said it's going to appoint Defense Attachés to Armenia and several other countries to strengthen the military links. What can you tell us about this?
AMBASSADOR: PM Modi has a very clear-cut policy and initiative of “Make in India”, including in the defense sector. We are now seeing that many countries in the world are buying Indian defense equipment. Defense Attachés are being posted to coordinate the process.

... India's Ambassador about AM-IN economic ties and trade

REPORTER: What was the volume of trade last year, and what trends are seen in the bilateral export and import markets?
AMBASSADOR: The $200 million trade we made was far below the potential. India is the Pharmacy of the World with more than 60% of the vaccines worldwide coming from India, including those supplied through the WHO and other mechanisms like GAVI. So we see more potential here. Both sides are working towards increasing the import of Indian medicines and vaccines into Armenia. We are also looking at the high-tech sector.

... India's Ambassador about Pashinyan's "Crossroads of Peace" trade unblocking project

REPORTER: The Government of Armenia proposed the “Crossroads of Peace” logistics project. There were opinions that it matches with India’s vision in the South Caucasus. What is India’s opinion on this initiative?
AMBASSADOR: When countries need to prosper, connectivity is the key. And connectivity is something that we, in our own region, have been working very closely with our neighboring countries. So similarly, we find that for any region, if you want to move to the next level of prosperity, you need to have connectivity projects. Naturally, we see this “Crossroads of Peace” project of the Armenian government in that light, that it would be a win-win situation for all the regional partners. So indeed for us there is no other way than to have more connections between countries, whether it is in terms of roads, railways, etc. We look at it positively and enthusiastically.

... India's Ambassador about international trade through Iran's Chabahar port

REPORTER: India plays an important role in the development of Chabahar port. You mentioned that the prospects of facilitating the use of Chabahar port for Armenia are being considered as well. What are those possibilities?
AMBASSADOR: The Chabahar port is jointly developed by India and Iran. In our discussions with the Armenian side, they have manifested an interest in using the Chabahar port. Armenia's Minister of Territorial Administration visited the Chabahar port in December. We are waiting for the details from the Armenian side and we will consider it once we receive concrete proposals.
REPORTER: What role can Armenia play in the development of a communication route from India to Chabahar to the Black Sea?
AMBASSADOR: This goes back to my comment about connectivity. Armenia being a landlocked country definitely needs more connectivity projects. If it materializes, I think it would help Armenia to overcome the fact that it is a landlocked country.

government launches the construction of two roads for Tavush border village Kirants: VIDEO

PASHINYAN OFFICE: The 3 remaining coordinates of Kirants were pinpointed with the use of a computer and the border posts will be installed later. The rest [another 8 posts in Kirants] are already there. The good news for Kirants is that around 25 hectares of land that have been unreachable for 33 years will be returned to the village. The border resembles the 1976 line.
As we said earlier, yes, there is a need to build a bypass road, which can be accomplished in 2-3 months. We will also rebuild the road between H-26 and Acharkut and Kirants, which is an alternative road for Kirants. As for property issues, the volumes are small and the government will compensate in such situations. //
The 3 remaining border posts were reportedly installed in Kirants on Monday. Here is how the road issue will be addressed:
Azerbaijan is located between Kirants and Sarigyugh villages. Kirants is currently connected to Sarigyugh with two roads: a direct connection through the interstate road, and a secondary road that connects Kirants to nearby Acharkut before reaching Sarigyugh.
Approximately 300 meters of the direct road falls under the Azerbaijani side, so the government will build a 750-meter bypass road parallel to it. Preliminary construction activities have begun; they are working on the details.
As for the secondary road passing through Acharkut, the government has begun rebuilding and widening it to allow cargo trucks to use it.
So there are currently two construction projects, with one connecting Kirants to Sarigyugh directly, and the second connecting Kirants to Sarigyugh through Acharkut. Both roads are expected to be ready in 3 months.

Serj Sargsyan's HHK party co-leader is against forming an anti-Pashinyan alliance with Edmon Marukyan and Sasna Tsrer

Edmon Marutyan's LHK, Ruben Vardanyan's Aprelu Yerkir, and the Sasna Tsrer (BEVER) whose followers committed terrorists attacks on police stations in 2016 and 2024 have decided to join the ongoing anti-Pashinyan protests led by Kremlin's favorite Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan.
HHK's Edward Sharmazanov is against forming an alliance with Edmon Marukyan's LHK because they did not actively campaign against Pashinyan's reelection in 2021.
As for Sasna Tsrer, they committed attacks on police stations and called HHK "evil", so Sharmazanov is against working with them.

Iran's President Raisi and Foreign Minister Amirabdollahian die in a helicopter crash while returning from a meeting with Ilham Aliyev to inaugurate the opening of a new dam on the Iran-Azerbaijan border

Shortly before the crash:
RAISI: Maybe someone doesn't like our meeting and joint successes with Azerbaijan. It doesn't matter to us. The important thing is that we implement together whatever is in the best interest of our people. The enemies do not want progress in Azerbaijan and Iran, but we believe that any progress in Azerbaijan is our progress, any threat to the borders of both countries will be a loss for both countries.
ALIYEV: Today the world is witnessing how great the friendship is between Azerbaijan and Iran. We support each other in all international structures and will continue to in the future. No one can divide us. //
Memorial services will be held in Yerevan's Blue Mosque on Thursday.

Azerbaijani dissident activist Arif Yunusov about Iran helicopter crash

REPORTER: Will there be radical changes in Iran after the death of Raisi?
YUNUSOV: I doubt it. The real power is in the hands of Khamenei. Now there are reports about his son [replacing him in the future]. As for the internal disturbances caused by opponents, as you know, there are periodic waves in Iran. These protests are sometimes ethnicity-based. If in the past it was Azerbaijanis, today the protests are by Kurds. There is also the youth that's tired of being ruled by religious mullahs. The death of Raisi doesn't change anything in internal or foreign policies. They will just change the President's last name.
REPORTER: I have a feeling Iran will soon blame Israel for the helicopter crash.
YUNUSOV: I have already seen that on Iranian Telegram channels but official Tehran won't rush with that. They will conduct an investigation and conclusions will be made. If Tehran blames Israel, then there must be good evidence for it because credit where credit is due - Iran usually conducts such investigations quite well. If you remember the liquidation of the father of Iran's nuclear weapons, Israel still denies participation but Iran found enough evidence that Israeli agents used the territory of Azerbaijan to infiltrate, carry out the project, and return through Azerbaijan. Let's wait and see the conclusion of the crash investigation. The accusations by Telegram channels and analysts "don't count".

... Arif Yunusov about AM-AZ border delimitation

REPORTER: Is the ongoing Tavush-Gazakh delimitation really a bilateral process, as Baku claims?
YUNUSOV: No. The U.S. is still interested in the delimitation process and influences both parties behind the curtains. There was a high-profile Azerbaijani visit to Washington. Although the official press release didn't share details, we can safely assume they discussed the AM-AZ relations. If this delimitation continues in spite of Russia that means the U.S. is currently a moderator in this process. This is not purely a bilateral process despite Aliyev's efforts to present it that way.
REPORTER: Is the U.S. a guarantor that the delimitation won't end in Tavush?
YUNUSOV: Not a "guarantor" but the U.S. is the force that is really trying to accomplish something and is actually doing something. The full demarcation will last a long time. The main objective of the U.S. at the moment is the signing of an AM-AZ peace agreement. I don't think they'll be able to sign it before November, however.
REPORTER: How is the Azerbaijani public reacting to the border delimitation?
YUNUSOV: Positively. People truly want to have a demarcated border. The Azerbaijani regime often mentioned "Western Azerbaijan" and the return of Azeris there, but in reality, nobody in Azerbaijan took that seriously because they all understood it was an attempt to pressure Armenia. As soon as information came that the border was partially delimited, it was met with a positive response by the public. The Azerbaijani public understands that it's normal for Azerbaijan to gain and lose control of territories during this process, just as we did during the delimitation with other neighbors.

2024.05.20 23:39 Strange-Bus8049 The first two chapters of my first book. Thank you for reading and give me your worst.

THE WRETCHES
A novel by Curtis Millwall

Chapter One
Ms Veronica Van Zyl was a slight woman who favoured sharp collars. Her black hair was always pulled back tightly into a short ponytail which never seemed to grow.
She walked very upright, defensively and inquiringly simultaneously. It may be noted that even while she was seated, this paradox of characteristics was apparent in her demeanour.
She would try the police station. Maybe they had Liesel’s address on file.
A Police Sergeant leaned lazily on his elbow, scribbling a report when she came in. He knew her. Child Services.
“I hear you are the new boss?” the policeman teased, not looking up from his writings. Veronica smiled openly and placed her purse on the counter.
“Yes”, she said, “since last week”.
The officer let out a sound of congratulations and shut the report book with a bang.
“So, Kruger is really gone?” he asked, incredulous.
“Retired “, Veronica answered.
“How long was he there?”
“Nearly fifteen years”, replied Veronica .
Similarly punctuated conversation speckled with intervals of light laughter ensued. It was eventually arrived at that Veronica was looking for the whereabouts of a person. A case she was working on, she said, and any help would be appreciated.
The Sergeant produced a large book with cardboard top and a red spine.
Veronica spelt out the name of Liesel Hart and the Sergeant scrolled through its contents, to no avail.
He checked again. No Liesel Hart.
“Do you think you can call Jepson District?” Veronica asked.
The Sergeant would usually have broken out into a soft chuckle at such an assuming request but found himself suddenly checked, remembering that Veronica’s new appointment gave her a certain rank within the force, even if she was just a Child Services Inspector.
“Is this how it’s going to be from now on?” he thought as he picked up the receiver and churned out the number for the Jepson PD. “Extra work for nothing”, he thought resentfully, smiling at Veronica while the phone rang in his ear.
When the call was answered the Sargent spoke at length to his counterpart at the Jepson Police Department about sundry matters, none of which had anything at all to do with Veronica’s request. When he finally did broach the subject, it was in such a way as to make it seem like an afterthought and not the primary reason for his call.
He relayed the name Veronica had supplied and to his visible surprise, there was a hit on a case file active with the Jepson PD.
Liesel Hart had lodged a restraining order just two days ago at the station in Jepson District against a Mr Clyde Jerry.
Her current address is listed as 12 Holloway Lane, Jepson.
The Sergeant was secretly dismayed when the information was relayed. Veronica was openly pleased.
The long serving policeman usually celebrated using state resources to such purpose but he regarded this last piece of success as a foreboding omen. Veronica would surely use the police’s personnel for more favours of this kind in the future, he prophesied.
He scribbled the address on a sticky yellow note and pasted it with his thumb on the station’s wooden counter, for Veronica’s convenience.
Veronica wished she had come here first, instead of the airport and bus station. She immediately resolved to make the police station her first point of call for similar cases.
Peeling the note from the counter, Veronica thanked the Sergeant ‘so much’ and left.
Pleasant goodbyes from the Sargent followed her along with another congratulations on her new appointment.
“Trouble”, said the Sergeant rather loudly when Veronica had just exited.
“She is flying”, said a hidden Constable, from nowhere.
“She’s not like Kruger, this one”, scowled the Sergeant –
“Kruger never came here!’’
“And she is coming after her first week “added the Constable humorously, finally revealing himself by poking his neck around a corner.
The Sergeant clapped his hands together with a crack. He let out a worrisome drone which resonated throughout the lobby of the grey police station. The Constable joined in from his hideout, offering a wail of regretful lamentation that harmonised surprisingly sweetly with his superior’s.
“What’s the matter with you two? Shut up!” barked a prisoner from a cell down a nearby passage.
The prisoner added that they “should not quit their day jobs” and laughed heartily.
The two officers unanimously descended upon the haughty inmate in a chorus of terrible insults, a bombardment of verbal abuse so dreadful and relentless, that the prisoner retreated into the corner of his cell, mumbling.
The Constable performed the obligatory ceremony of running of his baton across the cell bars and the police station returned to its’ usual grim quietude, the Sergeant, to his paperwork.
“Trouble”, he muttered once more, scribbling.
The hidden Constable concurred with a sound which was not a word.

Chapter Two

Veronica thought she recognised the address on the paper the Sargent had given her. “Why did it look so familiar? she wondered “I’m sure I’ve seen this address written down somewhere before…” she thought to herself.
A large sign on the wall when she arrived jogged her memory. “Of course’, she thought.
The New Hope Women’s Shelter.
A facility which was directly under her departments jurisdiction. She recognized the address because it was a beneficiary of The Child Welfare Program.
Veronica entered the Shelter with an officious air and expected to be met with a reception area of some kind. Instead, she immediately found herself in what seemed to be a dining hall.
A dozen steel tables imposed themselves on the room and dozens more miscellaneous chairs of odd variety were stationed around them.
A large television perched on the wall, leaning more forward than what would ordinarily be considered ideal.
Several tattered posters curled up their corners on the walls, some depicting angels, others, cats.
The most prominent characteristic of the room however was how impossibly close and crammed together the furniture was. There seemed to be no visible path one could take to the other side of it.
“Hello?”, Veronica called out.
The only response she received was from a man on the television, who softly suggested that she might consider purchasing funeral insurance and began expounding upon the many benefits she might accrue if she were to purchase such a policy from Doves Funerals.
Perhaps she had taken the wrong door, she thought and went outside to seek an alternative entrance. There was none. A locked gate guarded the perimeter of the building.
She called out again from the doorway and when nobody answered, began calculating a path through the wilderness of mismatched dining room furniture.
An assorted array of swivel office chairs guarded the edges of the room, rendering circumnavigation impossible, or at the very least, ridiculous.
A baby cried in the distance and Veronica imagined it was probably the very child she had been looking for all afternoon.
In her efforts to advance by first moving an entire table from her path, she caused a particularly uncooperative plastic cup to topple to the floor several times.
A resident or possible employee of the Woman’s Shelter thrust her head in through the open window at the other end of the room, as a means to investigate the reason for the bouncing cup. She took a long look at Veronica, who was at that moment engaged in wrestling a large swivel chair.
Before Veronica could utter a greeting, the person disappeared with a muffled scowl.
The chair dispatched with, Veronica ventured down a rather narrow hallway and found a door labelled “Manager’’. It was ajar and she rapped on it smartly with a bony knuckle, “Hello?”, she asked through the gap, a little breathless.
“Come in”, said a man seated at his desk within, who without being seen, could be guessed to be one of substantial physical proportions, not muscular.
Veronica pushed the door.
It scraped horribly upon the floor as she did so occasioning an awful scratching sound. The more she pushed it, the more it chalkily scratched the tiles beneath it.
Somebody in an office nearby pleaded for the perpetrator of this audial assault to “Come on”.
Veronica opted to “Come in” instead.
“There’s a trick to it, you have to pull it up while you push it” the large man said knowingly as Veronica entered his office.
Veronica looked back at the door with disapproval and noted the extreme lack of skill of whoever it was that painted it.
It was done in a rich sky blue, which in and of itself is a fine colour for a door. It looked however, as if this particular door had been painted in less than a minute.

“Good afternoon”, she said archly.
She gripped her purse and approached his desk in her upright manner “My name is Veronica Van Zyl.
A nameplate on the Manager’s desk introduced him as Pastor John Lemmings and the man himself kindly asked what he could do for Mrs Van Zyl today.
Pastor John Lemmings was no stranger to being petitioned for assistance and he wrongly assumed Veronica was there to make arrangements for a relative to be sheltered.
“I’m with the Child Welfare Regional Office” Veronica stated coolly.
The effect of this announcement on this Shelter Manager was so pronounced that he produced an unpleasant screech of his own upon that unlucky floor when he pushed his chair back and rose to greet her.
He motioned for her to have a seat in a most gentlemanly manner and was rather abashed when she declined.
“How is Mr Kruger these days?” he said half stood behind his desk.
“He’s no longer with the department”, Veronica snapped, a little harshly, as if she was tired of hearing the question.
“Oh! is that so?”, said the large pastor, trying to be pleasant but clearly disturbed by the news. “You know Kruger used to come check on us every now and then to see how we were getting along. I assume you would like to see our bookkeeping? I have all the ledgers here.”
Pastor Lemmings sauntered over to a grey filing cabinet and opened the bottom drawer.
Veronica interjected, “No, I don’t need to see your books right now. This isn’t an audit.”
The shelter manger hunched over the half - opened drawer and looked at Veronica, puzzled.
“I understand you have somebody by the name of Liesel Hart in your shelter, Veronica explained.
She has a baby with her, a six- month old boy, is that correct?”
Veronica asked these questions in quick succession but did not wait for a reply. She had already gleaned the name of Liesel Hart in the admissions register which lay open on the manager’s desk. It was the latest entry.
Liesel Hart and her child, Clive Jnr were here.
“When did she arrive?” Veronica asked, choosing to wait for an answer this time.
The shelter manager seemed to still be contemplating Veronica’s first question and did not appear certain if there even was such a person under that roof at all. He decided it best to consult the admissions register, and began running his finger down the pages.
Veronica leaned in and tapped on the name at the bottom of the list.
“There she is”, she said “Liesel Hart”.
And there she was. Liesel Hart. Arrived yesterday. With Baby.
The Pastor suddenly exclaimed that he just remembered exactly the person Veronica was looking for. Her name was Liesel, she arrived yesterday and she had a small baby with her! A feisty woman, he said. Won’t let anybody touch the baby.
Veronica looked unimpressed that the manager could forget such a thing as the latest admission to his facility. The manager, noticing this, offered consolation in the fact that he was helping so many people that it was often hard to keep track of all their names.
It was at this point in their discussion that the two welfare workers were interrupted by the shelter’s cleaning lady, Agnus.
Agnus had overheard the conversation while she was mopping the doorway and she loudly announced that she too knew the precise person in question, the one Veronica was seeking – this person had a small baby with her and had arrived “the day before today”.
“Thank you, Agnus,” said Pastor Lemmings and bestowed a benign smile upon the informed Agnus.
Agnus returned it, clutching her mop and beaming at her reverend employer.
“Is she here now? “asked Veronica, addressing Agnus.
“Excuse me, sorry?” replied Agnus, turning sharply in Veronica’s direction with a start, as if by fright.
“Is she here now?”, Veronica inquired loudly and pointed down at the floor with her forefinger for emphasis.
“I don’t know”, replied Agnus softly, leaning on her mop and gazing vacantly at the spot on the floor where Veronica had pointed.
Agnus seemed perplexed that Veronica would think somebody could be therenow. The area she had pointed to was clearly devoid of humanity.
While she meditated on this, streams of grey liquid from the mop she leaned on began to seep onto the floor. Veronica recoiled at the sight and turned to the shelter manager impatiently.
“Call her”, Pastor John instructed

This is a take on Tartine's Book 3 recipe Sprouted Black Emmer. I changed it up a bit - left out the sprouted grains mainly. I find using flours that aren't malted or low in gluten need some help for a good rise and a nice crumb so I added a small amount of vital wheat gluten and 5g diastatic malt to compensate and the result was excellent!
150g Black Emmer Flour 150g Carolina Grounds High Extraction Nu East Hard Red 300g Central Milling Artisan Bread Flour 2 Tbs vital wheat gluten 5g diastatic malt 100g young ripe starter 150g Safety Glasses "White" non-alcoholic beer 350g water 35g maple syrup 10g salt Bran flakes for coating
Mix flours, VWG and malt with all liquids including syrup and starter - let autolyse for about an hour. Add in salt and then bulk ferment 3.5 hours at 78 degrees with stretch and folds every 15 minutes and then 3 coil folds every half hour. Pre-shape, bench rest, shape and into banneton. I let it sit out for 1/2 hour because I only gave it a 12 hour refrigeration after.
This is such a delicious loaf of bread. There's a hint of sweetness, complex flavors. Highly recommend trying the combination of beer and syrup in your sourdough. I used all specialty flours that aren't malted - also compensated for the lower gluten in the black emmer. The crumb is perfect; delicate, airy - If you're struggling with making sourdoughs that have a nice rise when using alternative low gluten flours, consider adding diastatic malt and vital wheat gluten.

2024.05.20 20:33 purple_swampert "burning" is not "pain"

so i've been having undiagnosed chronic pain for like, my whole life. its now getting to a point where it is hindering me from my hobbies and work, my days off have just turned into rest days because if i don't let my body rest i will pay for it later. i finally have a decent doctor that believes i'm not just making shit up, and after him ruling out arthritis by sending me to a rheumatologist, i was encouraged by him and the rheumatologist to see a neurologist, with a suspicion that i am experiencing fibro or something similar.
first time i talked to the neurologist with a referral, they explained they can't admit me as a patient because they don't treat joint pain. i explained that, since arthritis was ruled out, we were trying to see if the pain was nerve related. she reiterated that they don't treat joint pain and that i would need a new referral. fast forward, my doctor changes the wording on the referral to say "total body pain, cause unknown".
again, i call the office and i am refused an appointment. when i ask why she tells me "we don't treat pain. we treat tingling, numbness, and burning sensations." i was stunned. "is burning... not pain?" i asked. she told me no, that nerves don't cause pain, and burning is different. i felt like i was in an alternate universe. "so, let me get this straight, if i tell you that i feel burning sensations that cause pain, the pain is not real?" she wouldn't answer and just told me they couldn't see me.
i am now on attempt number 3 at being seen, and i'm just frustrated and confused. here i am, sitting on the couch, my hands and feet feel like there is liquid fire flowing through them, and apparently that's not considered pain. is this just a game of semantics? will i get an appointment if i just avoid telling the truth: that i'm in pain? is a neurologist even someone i want to see if they treat it like this? if anyone could offer advice i would appreciate it 🙏
