hi everyone bit of a long one but I’ve been seeing a lot of posts on here about DHEA-S levels, wanted to share my own story to hopefully help anyone feeling a bit hopeless.
During quarantine I didn’t take care of my body and health, and between 2020-2023 gained a lot of weight from eating terrible food most of the time (takeaways, high sugar, etc.). Around the start of 2023 I started noticing excessive hair growth on my chin and upper lip, hair loss around my forehead, and irregular periods. The absolute worst though was sudden bouts of anxiety and panic attacks anytime I went out. I would step out of my house or into a restaurant/uber etc and immediately feel all the symptoms of high blood pressure like being dizzy/disoriented, sweaty, my heart would be pounding heavy and fast, my throat would feel tight, dry mouth - generally I would feel so afraid and like I needed to sit down immediately and lean against a wall or I would faint (never happened thankfully). Ended up in the ER twice for bad episodes that lasted hours.
I went to nephrologists, gynaecologists, and endocrinologists. Cortisol and testosterone levels were normal, so PCOS was doubted because I also didn’t have mini cysts on my ultrasounds - my panels would come back normal time and time again except for b12 and vit D deficiencies as well as extremely high DHEAS levels of 795 (I believe the maximum for the normal range is 330 or something). Adrenal tumour was ruled out with a CT scan. No one offered an explanation for the DHEAS levels and I was told I just have plain old anxiety - despite me insisting these symptoms started extremely randomly and only recently. Other symptoms I experienced at the same time were gastric related - acid reflux, difficulty swallowing, and irritable bowels which was just annoying on top of everything.
I went to a naturopath who finally addressed all my issues and I can say I haven’t experienced one of those horrible debilitating panic attacks in almost a year now. My DHEAS levels are measuring at around 400 now which is still slightly above normal but better than 795 for sure. My periods are regular and painless and I don’t have as much facial hair. I’ve also lost 24kg in less than a year as a side benefit. Here are some of the things I did to bring my life back to normal.

- Fix my gut health. By far the most important. I started taking pre and probiotics (either supplements or natural food sources). I cut out sugar and caffeine and started eating less carbs and more healthy fats (avocados), fibre (flaxseeds, veg), and protein.
- Insulin resistance. There’s a couple things I did to address my insulin resistance. I cut out high glycemic index foods, completely cut out oat milk and rice, and started intermittent fasting. I would add cinnamon powder, ACV, and turmeric powder to meals or drinks here and there. I also took myo-inositol powder in water with meals but I would recommend speaking to your doctor first before starting. My fasting blood sugar levels averaged at around 6.2 this time last year and now measure at around 4.3 in the mornings.
- Ashwagandha. Lifesaver. I was instructed to boil a bit of liquorice powder and ashwagandha powder in water and drink it every night (please consult first with a health professional to see if this would be an option for you). When I’m lazy I take an ashwagandha gummy, bonus points if it has a blend with l-theanine or GABA as these have calming properties. I would also recommend drinking spearmint tea if you’re taking ashwagandha as it lowers androgen levels and reduces facial hair growth.
- Vitamin deficiencies. I started taking b12, magnesium glycinate and d3. It’s a good idea to get a blood panel to see what you’re lacking and address it either with supplements or diet changes.
- Preparing before going out. At the time I was still experiencing the panic attacks I would always make sure to carry a water bottle, either a banana or electrolyte sachets/tablets, sour candy, and a mini eucalyptus essential oil bottle (smelling it calms you down) in my bag. I don’t need any of that anymore but if you’re still going through this these would be my tips!
- Lifestyle changes. Basic things like sleeping early and decent hours, taking it easy give yourself some rest and breathing time. I don’t go to the gym or do regular breathing exercises but I know they can help so I’m gonna start.

Mittlerweile haben sich die älteren Blätter jedoch auf eine Art verfärbt, die irgendwie nicht ganz so gesund aussieht. Irgendwie bräunlich/gräulich und etwas dunkel (Ich hoffe man erkennt auf den Bildern was ich meine). Außerdem fühlen sich die Nadeln allesamt sehr „lasch“ an. Der Baum treibt zwar fleißig aus, aber irgendwie bin ich sehr besorgt, dass es ihm vielleicht nicht gut gehen könnte. Zuhause beim eintopfen habe ich dann gemerkt, dass die Wurzeln schon ziemlich dicht die Form des kleinen Plastikkübels angenommen haben. Ich habe versucht einiges davon aufzulockern, jedoch wollte ich auch nicht all zu grob vorgehen und hab mich dann damit abgefunden, dass der Wurzelballen noch eine leicht eckige Form hat. Als Substrat habe ich ihm eine Mischung aus normaler Zimmerpflanzenerde, Walderde, Sand, Lava und Blähton zubereitet. Der Baum steht auf dem Balkon und bekommt in den Morgen- und frühen Mittagsstunden direkte Sonne ab. Gedüngt habe ich mit Bambusdünger, da ich online gelesen habe, dass der Mammut viel Stickstoff benötigt. Inhaltstoffe:

 | Hey guys I've been a long time lurker on this page. I tried using people's suggestions to help myself for a long time and my candida just kept coming back (had it about 2 years). I finally went to a functional doctor and they did a blood test which showed Candida and white mold causing inflammation in my body. This is how my functional doctor is treating me. I am not a doctor and this is not medical advice I just wanted to share my experience submitted by geekitupsogood to Candida [link] [comments] My main symptoms: anxiety, brain fog, bloating and easily upset stomach, white/patchy sometime sore tongue, frequent yeast infections, fatigue, always hungry, trouble sleeping and waking up starving in the middle of the night. Supplements: GI Detox binder from Bio-Botanicals: Take one cap morning. If it makes you feel worse, then half the cap and start at that dose for 5 days. Then try to move back up to one whole cap. If you feel improved or the same, then immediately go to 1 cap morning and 1 cap night. This one needs to be taken 2 hours before or after meds/supplements/foods. Nasal Spray: Get one good spray up each nostril twice a day. Biocidin: Move up to 10 drops 3x per day as fast as possible. If you feel a little queasy, then move down until you feel normal. Try to build back up after 5 days at that dose. S. Boulardii: 1 cap morning and 1 cap night, with food. ViraCid: 1 cap morning and 1 cap night DHist: 1 cap morning and 1 cap night Orthospore: 2 caps with dinner. Take away from biocidin. SBI Protect: 1 scoop morning and 1 scoop night. Can be put into really anything. Diet: no flours of any kind, no quinoa or buckwheat, no grains, No tropical fruit except coconut, mushrooms especially shiitake are okay, nuts and beans are okay in moderation, coffee is okay, sweet potatoes are okay in moderation, yogurt is okay, cheese is okay, no milk. He says this protocol will be about 3 months. If you're using the "Now" brand of S. Boulardii throw it in the trash it's not helping you. The magnesium is for constipation. The nasal spray is specific for the white mold. And the SBI protect is for leaky gut. He said if you want to be perfect take the biociden away from the s boulardii but he hasn't seen issues with people taking it at the same time because it's such a strong probiotic. |

I was diagnosed with C diff on Friday. I had been in the hospital a month before, in April, due to cellulitis that had developed into sepsis. I was there for three days. So I was in on super strong antibiotics for most of April. A couple weeks after I developed a bad sinus infection and took Augmentin. After the fourth day on it I noticed I began getting diarrhea and thought it was a side effect of the antibiotic or something I ate. It wasn’t until I started passing bloody mucus that I reached out to my GP and let him know about the diarrhea and bloody mucus. He ordered the two C Diff tests and the toxin came back undetermined but the PCR came back positive. He gave me vancomycin. Has anyone else experienced bloody mucus in their stool? I’m taking a probiotic but I’m going to add Florastor as well. I’m also getting bad night sweats but I’m not sure if that’s from the bacterial infection itself or the antibiotics. When I was on cefadroxil for the cellulitis it caused me to have a constant high body temperature, so I’m not sure if that’s what’s going on. I’m just scared of passing it to my family, we only have one bathroom and my mom is high risk since she has stage four pulmonary fibrosis. I put her and my husband on probiotics just to be safe. Neither have taken antibiotics recently. But most of all I’m scared to pass it to my toddler (21 months) but I got hope when I read on here that infants can’t get it due to their gut flora being different. I hope this applies to toddlers as well. It’s encouraging to read about people getting cured. It gives me hope.

So technically its not ibs but its very adjacent and I do have ibs too and I really need a place to complain and maybe get advice!
About a month ago I suddenly got what we though was food poisoning and would pass in a few days, but as you can probably guess it didnt... 3 trips to the ER over the course of a month and no answers! A month of barely eating, constant nausea, constant diarrhea, weeks of a UTI, and abdominal pain! I'm past my limit! They did give me antibiotics on April 17th during my ER trip for the UTI but that's it! Said to wait it out! At my last trip to the ER a day ago (may 12) they had to prescribe me a sedative cause I'm just crying and hysterical constantly! I had to run to the toilet 14 times that day! With visits averaging an hour on the toilet each time!
They also gave me 2 "hardcore" antibiotics on my recent trip since there's been no answers from all the tests besides the fact I still had a UTI! Blood tests each time i went, a CT scan, and a poop sample, and yet no answers!!
And now the antibiotics are wrecking my stomach even worse! I do hope they help and I know I have to take them but after sitting on the toilet, legs bruised from the seat, leaking bright orange mucous poop out my butt and having been nauseous all damn day im just so tired of it! I had to put a folding tv tray table in the bathroom to lean on just to give my back a break and be able to put my head down!
I get no break! Its just constant! And the nausea means I'm eating soooo little! All I've had today was 5 chicken nuggets and half a sleeve of saltines! I know more food would probably help thicken up my poops and make them easier to deal with but I just can't! I'm barely able to get enough water in me at this point! Even my blood tests show im not eating enough. And on top of that I have to take the 3 pills from the hospital Plus 4 more pills that I take daily. Pills are like half of my food intake right now and as you can imagine its upsetting my stomach even more and slowing absorption of the meds and just generally leaving me with terrible acid reflux on top of the nausea!
And I'm barely getting sleep! I was up 26 hours on the 12th (the ER visit day) only got 7 hours of sleep after that and now I've been up 15 hours since then and it doesn't look like I'll be getting any rest any time soon since the symptoms are only getting worse with the antibiotics! I used my tried and true Immodium and it only gave me maybe 3 hours of not pooping, but still with the pain and cramps and nausea.
I'm just beyond my limit, like sobbing on the toilet clutching the small trashcan (for vomit) and clinging to my poor girlfriend begging for anything that could help even though I know nothing we have will.
I do have an appointment with a mental health care person tomorrow (well technically today cause its 3am) and I have people who can make sure I'm ok luckily but its been so rough. I dont have the best mental health on normal days let alone after a month of starvation and torture! I was practically begging them to admit me to the hospital but they just won't since they're "mild" symptoms.
Any advice or stories of your own bad times or anything to distract me is so appreciated!
Edit with results from poop test: no norovirus, regular gut flora, no e.coli, no c.diff, and all the blood tests are in range besides the ones saying i have some sort of infection (assuming the UTI) and lack of food is obvious through the bloodwork.
So in general, no real answers ugh

About a month ago I suddenly got what we though was food poisoning and would pass in a few days, but as you can probably guess it didnt... 3 trips to the ER over the course of a month and no answers! A month of barely eating, constant nausea, constant diarrhea, weeks of a UTI, and abdominal pain! I'm past my limit! They did give me antibiotics on April 17th during my ER trip for the UTI but that's it! Said to wait it out! At my last trip to the ER a day ago (may 12) they had to prescribe me a sedative cause I'm just crying and hysterical constantly! I had to run to the toilet 14 times that day! With visits averaging an hour on the toilet each time!
They also gave me 2 "hardcore" antibiotics on my recent trip since there's been no answers from all the tests besides the fact I still had a UTI! Blood tests each time i went, a CT scan, and a poop sample, and yet no answers!!
And now the antibiotics are wrecking my stomach even worse! I do hope they help and I know I have to take them but after sitting on the toilet, legs bruised from the seat, leaking bright orange mucous poop out my butt and having been nauseous all damn day im just so tired of it! I had to put a folding tv tray table in the bathroom to lean on just to give my back a break and be able to put my head down!
I get no break! Its just constant! And the nausea means I'm eating soooo little! All I've had today was 5 chicken nuggets and half a sleeve of saltines! I know more food would probably help thicken up my poops and make them easier to deal with but I just can't! I'm barely able to get enough water in me at this point! Even my blood tests show im not eating enough. And on top of that I have to take the 3 pills from the hospital Plus 4 more pills that I take daily. Pills are like half of my food intake right now and as you can imagine its upsetting my stomach even more and slowing absorption of the meds and just generally leaving me with terrible acid reflux on top of the nausea!
And I'm barely getting sleep! I was up 26 hours on the 12th (the ER visit day) only got 7 hours of sleep after that and now I've been up 15 hours since then and it doesn't look like I'll be getting any rest any time soon since the symptoms are only getting worse with the antibiotics! I used my tried and true Immodium and it only gave me maybe 3 hours of not pooping, but still with the pain and cramps and nausea.
I'm just beyond my limit, like sobbing on the toilet clutching the small trashcan (for vomit) and clinging to my poor girlfriend begging for anything that could help even though I know nothing we have will.
I do have an appointment with a mental health care person tomorrow (well technically today cause its 3am) and I have people who can make sure I'm ok luckily but its been so rough. I dont have the best mental health on normal days let alone after a month of starvation and torture! I was practically begging them to admit me to the hospital but they just won't since they're "mild" symptoms.
Any advice or stories of your own bad times or anything to distract me is so appreciated!
Edit with results from poop test: no norovirus, regular gut flora, no e.coli, no c.diff, and all the blood tests are in range besides the ones saying i have some sort of infection (assuming the UTI) and lack of food is obvious through the bloodwork.
So in general, no real answers ugh

I'm pretty familiar with my body and I understand my cycle pretty well to include discharge consistency and odor.
I've noticed over the past couple of days a very foul, sour smelling odor coming from my underwear. The discharge is thick and sticky (to be expected as I'm about 6 days out from starting my cycle).
I've had BV once several years ago after being severely sick and again last NovembeDecember post-shingles - My body tends to be thrown off balance under such high stress situations and/or after having to take meds (which I very rarely ever do unless necessary). And both times it smelled more like fishy ammonia and burnt rubber during sex which has me wondering if this is BV or something else.
To add, I did recently have a skin biopsy done on a mole that is located on my vulva and wonder if either that level of stress has led to this or if the silver nitrate she used on the wound may have came in contact with my vaginal opening?
I've also noticed increased hair loss, my boobs? Mainly nipples, being sore way too early in my cycle, post ovulation, amongst other abnormal physical changes that have occurred this past cycle....and no I'm not pregnant so could this be hormonal? So many questions.
I hate to take Flagyl because I feel it destroys too much good bacteria and sets me up for other gut/flora issues, which could eventually lead to BV again (which I fear may be the case here).
Any idea if this may possibly be CV and not BV? Or something else?

It was a gut punch. The doctor asked to schedule a second to establish a pattern since SA are all snapshots. The second test was on April 30 submitted by Plenty-Astronaut-722 to maleinfertility [link] [comments] The differences between the tests: - for test 1 I abstained for 5 days and had a few days of erections and for the second test I abstained for 3 days and didn't have much issue not getting aroused. - test 1 came back saying I had europlasma and I took doxycycline for a few days I guess my question is a 3 parter: 1) does amount of erections in the days of abstinence affect SA 2) does the meds to treat europlasma affect semen that much, that quickly? And 3) does the second (most recent test) mean I can conceive naturally or still a IUI/IVF candidate. So I’ve always struggled with having little to no sex drive. I don’t think PCOS is completely to blame for me personally (I think it also stems from my adhd, anxiety, mommy issues lol and self esteem issues) but I really want to get it on track because I always feel so isolated and behind from all my friends. I was wondering if anyone is in a similar boat and have tried supplement that actually work? Please let me know because I don’t really know what to do.
Edit: I want to explain a little more. So I really have never had a sex drive from what I remember. I’m 21. I think it was more so that I was never exposed to that world growing up and it was never a topic of conversation with my friends so I just never felt inclined to explore myself. Just was so ignorant to it. Out of sight out of mind. My first long term partner we were both inexperienced and didn’t think to explore because we both didn’t know what we were doing. I wish I knew better. It wasn’t til I started making new girlfriends where I realized this was a problem for me. Not to compare but it really does fucking suck to feel like you’re missing out on a joy so many other women rave about. I then got diagnosed with PCOS and decided to heal my body from the inside out holistically because I view birth control as a bandaid solution. I also had a bad experience with it in the past. It’s been hard to prioritize the journey to exploring my pleasures because my ADHD also got really bad and I’ve been super stressed academically and socially. I’ve become super irritable and my confidence went down the drain. This year I’ve really been trying to prioritize it again but I just feel so so behind. I don’t know what the root cause is of my lack of drive. It could just be my hormonal imbalance from PCOS, or could be my low self esteem and subconsciously judging myself (this ties into my anxiety), or it could be my lack of exposure and I just need to practice more. Or it could just be that I still haven’t really had a solid partner to make me feel good. It’s so so frustrating.
I do have the come as you are book just haven’t gotten around to reading it (adhd lol) however now I have more time on my hands I want to dive in. I also have been taking inositol, magnesium, digestive probiotics (because my gut is trashed) a multi, and zinc. I was thinking about trying Co Q 10. And also maybe a libido boosting supplement but idk if those are placebo or if there’s evidence behind. After reading your comments I will consider maca but only if others aren’t helpful.
This has been a journey to feel good in bed and be able to enjoy myself. It’s so daunting and i just want all the women in similar boats out there to know that you aren’t alone. I get how debilitating it can feel. But with dedication and discipline we can figure it out. I really appreciate all the tips!!!
