Let me preface this by saying I do not mod fallout New Vegas at all. Completely out of my element here. I followed Viva New Vegas and Mojave Express Guide as well as the Mojave Express Texture Guide (I understand they're no longer supported but given they were last updated 2 months ago I figured they would be relatively up to date). Added a couple extra content mods for myself but that was all. I get crashes all the time- sometimes when loading into an area, sometimes when opening the pip boy, sometimes even when just walking out and about. There's absolutely no consistency with the crashes. Sometimes they happen, other times they don't. I'd post a crash log, but they are equally as inconsistent as well, and most of the time give differing logs. If it would be helpful to post one, I'd be more than happy to.

I am working on my friends Powermatic 3 and I'm stumped. When I plug it in and turn the power on, nothing shows up on the display and the injector just keeps cycling in and out.

I have been wanting to try this stuff forever, I can remember reviews from ryomagazine.com comparing the smell of perique tobacco to dog shit, so I knew I had to try it at some point! 😂
Guess what? He was totally right. There is a tiny bit of a poopy/manure/dog shit smell to it. It would be about 2% of the total bouquet, let's say. Appearance-wise it looks very similar to many other types of RYO tobacco, with a select few dark stands of perique here and there. What was really disappointing is that the cut on this stuff is extremely fine. There are no long strands whatsoever, it's just loose flaky tobacco. I was kind of worried that it would not work well in my injector, but I get pretty good results. I don't know American Spirit date codes but I did include a picture of the only code I could find on the package, maybe somebody knows. It could be old, it could be new but either way I'm making it work. This would absolutely no way work for hand rolling at all.
The moisture content was still good and the package was well sealed. it was on the low end of what I like my tobacco to be, so I left it in a small plastic container with a hydrating sponge overnight and that improved it's workability. Other than the tiny dog crap smell, it's a really really REALLY clean smelling Virginia and possibly a little bit of burley. I've had American Spirit cigarettes before, and the smell took me back immediately to the last time I had a pack. Absolutely amazing, this is the best smelling cigarette tobacco I have had in years. It is very similar to a factory pack, and I imagine would smell identical to the black pack / perique blend cigarettes, which I've never had due to my obvious limited availability in Canadadadada.
The smokeability on the stuff is great, just fantastic. Very flavourful and smooth, if you pack it nice and tight it will burn as long as a factory American Spirit cigarette. Because of the small cut it will tend to ash itself and might make a bit of a mess if you're smoking inside. If they could make this stuff in a much longer shag cut, or at least a little chunkier that could make it easier to handle. I'm going to lose at least 10% of the package to shake and powder, which is really unfortunate, but I won't cry about it too much. 😞
For me, the flavour and aroma out of the package is a 10, and the rating only goes up when you smoke it. The loose and flaky cut really cuts a few points off, so I hope this is just an older package or a fluke that's been handled a bunch of times and started to break down before I got my hands on it perhaps??

Right fellas! I’m a bloke in my early 20s from London, and last night I finally got to meet some Wisconsinites.
I have, of course, heard of the mythical Wisconsinite. In many ways, you guys are the unicorns of American drinking culture, the pinnacle to test our mettle against if we want to make claims of superiority (in a bantering way, of course. It’s booze, it doesn’t fucking matter).
Now, I know that the US is far too large a place to tar with one brush. I’m well aware that there’s loads of backwoods boys that can probably chow booze like a prime Churchill. But anecdotally speaking, every American I’ve come across has filled the stereotype to a tee, which frankly is doubly embarrassing because most of them seem to give it the big one first.
The most egregious example is we met a couple frat lads in the summer when I was 19; They were from some famous party university and very much banged on about it (Arizona? Alabama? It started with A.), but they were kind of a funny group since we’d never see them again so we thought fuck it and brought them with us for a few legs of the pub crawl.
We got about 6 pubs through before they were devastated. To clarify, a pub crawl in the UK is very much an expensive night out; It’s not the same as the regular sessions of just getting pissed, since if you’re running low on funds at the pub you and your mates can just buy some spirits and a few fridge packs and head to someone’s house. A pub crawl is a marathon of drinking, where you normally stop at off licences (and we stop at a couple smoke spots too, get some herbal refreshment) inbetween the actual pubs. You tend to start off speeding the pubs, and as you get drunker you have little side quests and antics going from pub to pub that slow down the run into a blackout collapse. It’s very common to use the Colombian support system to keep you going at the after party, but also common to just sink into oblivion.
It seems these lads hadn’t quite understood what they were in for. Within 2 hours, we’d been to about 4 pubs (getting one pint at each, with a round of shots at every second pub as well) and with off licences additionally we’d consumed about 8 pints and 2 jägerbombs each, in addition to what we and they had had before we met (in the first pub). We got to pub 7, had a kebab and a magnum (the Caribbean drink) on the way, and one of them beelined to the toilet to vomit. They called a cab home.
Needless to say, I have a few other stories; Random encounters, exchange students etc etc. but I have always heard that Wisconsin is the champion of the states.
Ladies and gents, I’m here to confirm it. Last night, me and the guys were geared up for the champions league, and we’ve managed to nab a table in a great pub (all tables normally already gone by 5pm). There’s about four of us on a six man table.
Two blokes in their 30s roughly come up to us, suited up so we assumed they’d come from work. They came over and asked if they could sit with us, since they didn’t want to stand, and offered us a round for the trouble, which obviously bypassed our suspicion for Americans.
Anyway, these two blokes sit down, and since they bought a round we get to nattering; There’s a bit of smalltalk, which progresses into a bit of banter when they said they were excited to watch a big soccer match with a real pub atmosphere. Obviously, a bit of light jibing about “soccer”, and then discussing fan culture and this goes to drinking; Following a jibe about American drinking, one of them smiled and said “I’m from Wisconsin. I’ll be fine”.
What proceeded was an absolute piss-up on a Tuesday night. As we kept drinking and kept giving context/inducting them into the pub atmosphere, they started getting real generous. They looked well to do, so that’s definitely a factor, and Tuesdays there are “cheap Tuesdays”, but man, great to get hammered on someone else’s dime for once!
The match starts, and I insist on getting the round. I picked up six pale ales, and took them to the table before telling everyone to drink about a quarter before giving it back. My new friends looked confused before doing as asked.
To be clear, this was possible because the pub is PACKED on football nights. Crammed in. I had smuggled in two hip flasks of whisky and proceeded to top the pints back up.
As soon as this was done, I shit you not, one of the blokes gets up and buys six pints of lager, saying he’d like a side drink.
Fucking legends. We treated the pale ale trick before running out of whiskey, so guy B gets six pale ales and six doubles of Jamesons.
We ended up walking with these blokes down to Kings Cross station, stopping at a number of pubs (bout 4) along the way, drinking and sharing cigarettes and making merry.
Great night, and I like to think we helped give a couple tourists a proper big Champions League night!
Anyway, just wanted to let you lot know that me and the boys have sworn that anytime American drinking culture is dogged, we’re gonna step in and say “except Wisconsin”.

So this year my family came home to my house for Easter dinner. Mom and pop, Uncle Rufus and Aunt Ethel, a few of my cousins, and Uncle Murder (his prison name). Everybody was bringing something. My part was preparing the ham.
I killed a big old sow the other night, down at Johnson and Meyer Farms. I drug the sumbitch home and butchered it. I decided to smoke it. Now ya see, smoking meat is both an art and a science, and a learned skill. I started slow smoking that sumbitch at 8:00 pm Saturday night. By noon the next day it ought to be perfect!
Those of us in the know are aware that one of the necessary components of slow smoking meat is lots of beer. Without it you ain’t smoking, you’re grilling. But there is one caveat: don’t hit the liquor!
So I was about a 12 pack in at midnight. I was drinking Busch because it was on sale down at the Quickie Mart. A surprising knock came from inside the house. Instinctively I reached for, and unholstered, my .44 magnum Blackhawk. That’s a Ruger, for you gun grabbers. I thought, “Holy shit! A negro done broke into my house!!”
Then I heard my doorbell ring, so I holstered my weapon. I said to myself, “Well, shit fire. Negros don’t ring the door bell!” So I went to see who it was.
Well sir, imagine my surprise when I opened my front door to find this young, pretty thing staring back at me! “Hey Rod! I hope you don’t mind me stopping by so late.”
It was Brandi Bourbon, “BB” for short, from down at The Titty Hut. I said, “Well hey there, BB! What’s up?”
It turns out that she stopped by for money. See, last week I propositioned her to perform a certain “thing” on me in return for monetary remuneration. When she finished up and wanted to get paid I realized I left my wallet at home. So I wrote her up an “IOU”. Now she came to collect.
I said, “Hell yeah, BB, I got your money. Come on inside!” Once I had her behind closed doors I propositioned her again. This time I require much more from her in the form of participation.
At first she did not go for it. Of course, I knew what was up. She was Jonesing for some H. However, I managed to convince her after I told her how much I would pay her. We started to go upstairs, but then I remembered my roasting hog. “Aw, shit, BB, I got to keep an eye on my pig. Come on! Let’s go do it on the patio! After I was sure that the pig was cooking fine, we got down to it.
After we finished, BB said she needed to go inside to get cleaned up. “Ok, sweetheart! Mi casa su casa!”, I said. To myself I resolved to gut her if she tried to steal anything.
Checking my Rolex Daytona, I saw that it was time to baste my meat. See, I had caught me one of those STDs a couple weeks ago at the Asian cathouse, Wee Bang U, and it was time to apply the salve to my old Johnson again.
As I was lathering up my thing I looked over at the hog roasting beside me. “GODDAMN!!! That is gonna be some damn good ham tomorrow!!”, I said out loud. I called out to BB, “Hey, slut!?! You want to come to Easter dinner tomorrow? This is gonna be the best hog you ever had!!!”, I said with a hint of pride.
BB did not answer. I popped open another beer and had a seat. I put on my headphones and listened to some Bill Monroe. I must have dozed off after that, because when I woke up it was 4:00 am! Then I remembered BB. Shit, she would not leave without the money I agreed to pay her. Then it occurred to me: THE BITCH ROBBED ME!!!!
I tore ass inside to check things out. Then the damnedest thing happened. I peeked out my front window and saw BB’s car, a Dodge Charger, was still parked in my driveway. “Well, what in the hell …”, I said. Maybe she was so worn out from our playtime she needed a nap?
I looked for her all over the house but could not find her. It was right perplexing! Then I said, fuck it! I got to get back to cooking, so I headed back to the patio. However, I decided to make a quick stop in the kitchen to get my meat thermometer, because it was about time to start keeping tabs on this.
As soon as I walked into my kitchen I found BB. There she was, lying on my kitchen floor, unconscious. I felt her up for a heartbeat, but there weren’t one. I said, “Huh. The bitch is dead.” I looked around to see if I could get to the bottom of this. Well, sir, it did not take long to put 2 and 2 together.
I had been trying to clear my drain earlier in the day. Among the items I tried was some Draino. I remember dropping the container and spilling it everywhere. The presence of a bent spoon, a cigarette lighter, and a syringe suggests that BB mistook the Draino for heroin, cooked up some, mainlined it, then dropped dead.
“Son of a bitch!!”, I said out loud. “This dumb bitch is going to fuck up my Easter dinner!!!!” I needed to hide her until after Easter dinner. Then I will get rid of her!! So I scooped up her corpse and stuffed her into the big oven I have. I was cooking the meat, so nobody is going to be nosing around the oven!
I went back out and checked the hog. It smelled DELICIOUS!! I popped the thermometer in her, popped open another beer, and sat down. I put my headphones back on and started listening to music again.
It did not take long before the paranoia got to me. I knew I could not be implicated in BB’s death. But I could be charged with some silly shit like concealing a dead body. The last thing I needed was another rap on me!! Hell, I almost lost my job teaching at the George Herbert Walker Bush School for Girls the last time I got pinched!!
I had to play this smart. My first priority was for Easter dinner to go off without a hitch. Good pork is like a religion her in the south. But then I will have to get rid of the bitch without implicating myself in any way.
I was nervous, and the cheap beer buzz was quickly wearing off. I had to settle my nerves to complete the cook. So I went to my personal bar in the garage and got an unopened half gallon of Jack Daniels. For medicinal reasons I figured I needed consume a good bit of it quickly.
The last time I looked at my watch it was just after 9:00 am. The pig was perfect! Another hour and I would take it off and start pulling it. The had also had divined a plan to get rid of BB’s body, and in which I had a high degree of confidence. Yessir! Everything was falling into line!
I later learned as awakened by Aunt Ethel calling my name. “Rod? Rod??? Rod?!?”, she asked. Uncle Rufus used his foot to move my head so the sun hit me in my face. “Motherfucker…”, I mumbled.
Uncle Rufus then said, “See that, Ethel? I told you that Rod would be passed out drunk by noon.” She replied, “Yeah, you were right. But why is he nude with a meat thermometer sticking out of his pee hole?” I mumbled something incomprehensible as the two of them went inside.
Then I heard my doorbell ring. I thought, “Hey!! Maybe that hot little number from the titty bar took me up on my invitation to Easter dinner!!! What was her name?!? BB??” Well, the thought of some top shelf tang got my juices flowing. I hopped right up and headed inside to get dressed!!

THE REPTILIAN AFFAIR
Uncle Red most likely fell out of his mamma drunk as a skunk. He is truly a slave of the devil’s sweet nectar. Of course, this led him to engage in many acts of madness throughout his life, like that time he spearheaded an armed insurrection against the local tax office. On another occasion, he married a tree. The following spring he divorced it for for its rather loose pollination practice.
This is why it came as absolutely no surprise that fateful morning at 4:30 am when Uncle Red busted through my front door, armed to the teeth, claiming he had infiltrated a secret cell of Reptilians and that they were on the way to take down the local KFC. “WE GOT TO ACT NOW, ROD!!! NOW!!!!”, he screamed. Then he commanded me to grab my load out and meet him outside in 2 minutes to board the Hummer and leave for the fight.
It was a delicate situation. See, I was sprawled out on my living room floor atop my Sasquatch rug with my neighbor’s wife, and her girlfriend. Her old man got bent the hell out of shape when he learned that his lil lady was a box muncher, then he threw her and her lover - their housekeeper - out of the house.
I managed to intercept the pair on the way to her car. I explained to them both that I am a licensed federal fur-gina specialist and a counselor who specializes in lesbian affairs. I got them both into my house, showed them my fake diplomas and licenses, then made us mojitos.
Well sir, it did not take long after that before we were all bare-ass and bumpin’-n-bangin’. The problem is that I had to get the girls out of the house if I am to go with Uncle Red. They were both of the LatinX persuasion so, you know, I could not simply leave them alone in my house. At the same time I could not send them back home to face old Red Tick Dick next door. He is one mean sumbitch.
Right about then Uncle Red came blasting through my front door again. He was agitated that I had not loaded myself and gear into his Hummer yet. “ROD!!! GET YOUR FUCKING ASS OUT HERE …. NOW!!”
I was able to calm Red down a bit and explained the situation. He slowly nodded in understanding as I spoke. As we spoke we were both standing there between the girls and my front door, watching the girls fiddle with their bits.
Red calmly said, “Rod, go outside and check the tire pressure on my Hummer.” I responded, “What?” Looking slightly perturbed, Red screamed, “GO TO THE FUCKING HUMMER AND CHECK THE TIRE PRESSURE, GODDAMNIT!!!!” Red was like a ticking time bomb.
I did as I was told. However, before I even got to Red’s Hummer I heard two quick gunshots from inside my house. “BANG! BANG!!” The reports were muffled, of course. But I could tell the shots came from Red’s .45 ACP he always carried as his primary sidearm.
“Motherfucker!”, I thought to myself. That SOB Red made a bloody mess in my living room! I stormed back into my home but found no brain or blood in my living room. Suddenly, old Red came sauntering out of my bedroom. “Where are the fucking girls, Red?”, I demanded. Red explained to me that he forced the girls at gun point into my shower, behind the curtain, and did what he did. “I didn’t want to get blood on your Sasquatch rug, Rod.”
Frankly, I was touched by this side of Red. It is unusual to see Red display anything other than blind rage at anyone. But here, Red actually took MY feelings into consideration. Uncle Red saw me smiling, and he knew why I was doing it. He screamed “NOW GET YOUR SHIT AND MOVE OUT, MAGGOT!!!!” That is exactly what I did.
A few miles down the road I started wondering exactly what the op target is. I asked Red. He replied, “I already dun told ya that, shit head.” I rolled my eyes, and asked him to tell me again. He said we were after a cell of Reptilians. I looked away from Red, and out the side window. Then I slowly mouthed the word “Reptilians”.
For those uninitiated, a Reptilian is a snake-like alien creature from outer space. In its natural form it is an anthropomorphic lizard man that stands 5-7’ tall on two legs. It has yellow eyes, a tail, and vertical black slits in those eyes (like cat eyes). They are scaly, have short, sharp teeth, and a long tongue. They come in a myriad of colors, and are capable of changing their color at will.
The Reptilians have been here on Earth for a long, long time. They primarily live in subterranean nests. However, they can, and will, transform into human form due their uncanny ability of mimicry. In human form, they live among us. They even breed with humans, producing hybrid children.
The Reptilians are quite nefarious and dangerous from the human perspective. It is credibly believed that they seek to overtake our planet and diminish humanity to a memory. We already have Reptilians occupying high and powerful positions in government across the world. Moreover, there is a human conspiracy to assist Reptilians in their quest, with humans compensated with worldly treasures and promises of high appointments once the Reptilians assume Earthly control. These human traitors are just as dangerous as the lizards themselves, and venomously despised but us in the know.
After pondering all this, I noticed that Uncle Red was driving like a maniac. I said, “Jesus Christ, Red! Slow the fuck down!!” He said we had little time to stop them and punched the accelerator harder, causing my body to be forced backward in my seat.
I noticed that old Red’s hands were trembling. This is when the gravity of our mission began to hit me. I asked Red, “Hey Red, are you … scared?” Red looked over at me, with his cigarette hanging from his lips. Then he looked down at his shaking hands.
“Scared? Ha ha ha!!! I ain’t scared of SHIT!! I just ain’t had my morning fifth yet.” I thought, OMG!!! This IS serious!!! Old Red don’t skip his morning fifth of whiskey for anything! “Holy shit!! We are probably going to DIE!!”, I thought to myself.
At exactly that point Red’s hummer went into a hydroplane, causing it to go sideways as we continued forward at 80mph. See, we hit a patch of pre-dawn rain, which had soaked the road. Of course, the hummer still had the same tires it had when Red bought it from as surplus from Operation Desert Storm. The treads were shit.
Eventually we slid off the road and into the trees at speed. It was a violent crash, leaving both of us battered and sore. This is especially so since Red does not allow seatbelts, calling them a “commie plot”.
The first thing Red did was look at me and say “Damnit, Rod!! I thought you checked the damn tire pressure!” I remembered Red telling me to do this. I defended myself, pointing out that I thought said command was merely a diversionary tactic to get me out of the house while he dealt with the rug munchers.
Red punched me in my throat, causing me to start gasping for breath. Then he berated me. “BOY!! WHEN I TELL YOU TO CHECK THE TIRE PRESSURE, THEN YOU CHECK THE FUCKING TIRE PRESSURE, UNDERSTAND?!? I DON’T GIVE TWO SHITS OVER SPARING YOUR STUPID LITTLE PUSSY SENSIBILITIES OVER THESE LITTLE SKANKS YOU DRAG HOME JUST SO YOU CAN RUB YOUR PATHETIC LITTLE PECKER ALL OVER THEM!!! WHEN I TELL YOU TO DO SOMETHING, THEN YOU FUCKING DO IT!!! WHEN I TELL YOU TO CHECK THE FUCKING TIRE PRESSURE, YOU CHECK THE FUCKING TIRE PRESSURE!!! UNDERSTAND?!?!
I understood. I also made a mental note to murder Red once this op was over. This prick had gone too fucking far this time. This is even worse than the time Red made me wear a Kevlar vest while he repeatedly shot me with a .357 magnum to see if it would really stop bullets. But for the time being, I put my feelings aside. If the skeevy Reptilians are on the march, then we need to fuck them up. I will get back at Red later.

They showed up in the mail this afternoon! About one week shipping from Germany to Canada. First impressions..... Not great. The box they were shipped in was quite thin and flimsy, and I estimate there's about 100 damaged tubes. They could definitely use a a thicker box to ship these.
The tubes: I got the 20mm filter version. First impressions, very good. I don't see any gaps in filters, everything looks nice in uniform in the box, definitely of good quality. I would say these tubes are of a similar construction to Premier or Shargio tubes. Durable and easily handled without being too thick or heavy. The paper itself is quite soft and thinner than those as well, and doesn't have any off-putting smells when I burn it empty. It just smells like plain cigarette paper which is good, because if your tubes smell like shit, the cigarette will taste like shit also.
I will say the ends of most of these tubes are a little ragged and dented, or just not round. That's most likely an issue due to shipping, but they fit and work on my supermatic clone injector just fine, just like any other 8 mm tube. I feel that they burn a little slower than most. There are no perforations in the filter paper, so these are true full flavour tubes.
Design wise, I love them. I usually stick to plain cork filter cigarette tubes but I couldn't resist trying these out. The gold band is fixed on there nice and solid, and I don't think it would peel off, the same goes for the filter paper as well. It holds up quite good and the filter is firm enough to keep its shape right to the very end, unless you smoke really fast and hard.
Would I buy them again? Probably not, due to the extra shipping cost over just ordering tubes on Amazon with free shipping in 1-2 days. Plus the shipping damage was kind of annoying, two of the boxes are smushed up a bit and i got a lot of wrinkled tubes.

SUGGESTED SCALE: 1-4: Not good. Regularly skip. 5: It’s decent, but I might have to be in the right mood to listen to it. 6: Slightly better than average. I won’t skip it, but I wouldn’t choose to put it on. 7: This is a good song. I enjoy it quite a bit. 8-9: Really enjoyable, special songs. I rank them pretty high overall. 10: Masterpiece, magnum opus, or similar terminology.

So, I've been going through my 3 packs of indonesian kreteks for the last month, 1 a day. Maybe 2. I decided to give another go at making my own clove cigarettes and have some useful information for those who might alos be interested.
Size matters - Try to find the largest cloves you can get. The little ball on the top of a clove are petals that have folded in. That is where most of the clove flavour comes from IMHO. The bigger the petals, the more flavour you get. These are the ones I like, they have different sizing and packaging options and the price is not bad.

Don't use ground cloves - it'll make the cigarette too dense and won't smoke properly.
The woody bit of the clove - It does add a lot of flavour and the "numbing" agent in cloves (eugenol) seems to be more present in the stalk/black part/woody bit. I've tried grinding them in a coffee mill, in a weed grinder, but the best way I found is to crush the stalk and leave the woody bits in "splinters" to add to your cigarette. Now, because I have not prepared properly I don't have any pics at the moment but will post some later. I used a little desk mounted vice clamp like this guy. Also tried a hammer and a mortar and pestle, but the clamp worked pretty good.

If the woody bits break apart into dust and chunks I won't use it. I pick the biggest cloves I can find and they seem to crush a lot better without breaking. The larger cloves have a bit more moisture and oil in the stalk.
You need both the crushed petals and woody bits to make it nice and "clovey" like I enjoy. Also, you save on tobacco and for whatever reason I get a much bigger buzz off one of my kreteks than a standard cigarette (store bought or homemade). I don't have any specific ratios, but it's probably around 70/30 tobacco to clove.
This is labour intensive, not going to lie, usually I just sit around for 30 minutes picking petals and crushing woody bits to keep an inventory going.
I use a manual injector style machine (a supermatic clone) and get great results. Not sure what would happen with an electric injector type with the worm gears, but the little woody bits would get caught and jam it up I imagine.

TLDR: 1995 Toyota Hilux LN85 electronics causing significant problems, melting PCB, shocking me and sparking when trying to attach second battery, more below:

I should kick this off by saying I’m brand new to car mechanics and electrical wiring, and any successes I’ve had so far have been thanks to YouTube tutorials but I’m in need of advice regarding a electric issue.
I am trying to get my dad’s old 1995 Toyota Hilux LN85 on the road and out of the stingers. I’ve been assured by the old man that the engine is sweet and after changing the ignition fuse, I’ve had it running once.
Hilux’s are known for being good cars to work on and the budget LN85 model is about as bare bones as it comes; it has a radio and a cigarette lighter but no frills, so any advice you may have will likely translate.
The truck was in storage for about 10 years, then 2 years ago, my brother had a go at starting it and he reckons he heard an electrical pop and the batteries sparked, he couldn’t get it working and it was left in the stingers. I replaced the car’s ignition fuse (something my brother had overlooked and maybe caused) and after a couple of tries, got it running for a bit.
Unfortunately, after bleeding the fuel injectors, I got sparks from the battery and got shocked a couple of times. When I tried the ignition smoke came from under the dashboard, after dismantling it I found that some of the plastic circuit board that connects the battery to the dash lights had melted. About 4 or 5 wires needed replacing and seemed to be surrounding the ignition (the ignition fuse I replaced was rated slightly too high, a 10v or 15v in for a 7.5v, so this could’ve been my issue here.)
I have soldered and fixed the circuit board myself and have put everything back together, but I don’t want to try the ignition until I’ve fixed the electrics problem or it will all melt again.
Other symptoms:
- When plugging the battery in, the dashboard lights all light up without ignition turned
- The Hilux has two 12v batteries to aid the ignition, but so far I have only started it using one battery, I can’t plug in both without sparks.
- I attached a multi-meter and identified what I believe to be a parasitic draw to the alternator, but I have also been told I may have an earth problem but I don’t know how I’d identify this.
I appreciate that there’s a lot of information here but any advice on this will be honestly really appreciated, thank you in advance.
