I still think Curtis Mead will be an everyday MLB player. I think there is a 3+ WAR player who can provide 120+ wRC+ at 2nd base and a shade below average defense one day there (or maybe who knows with more playing time he is a little stretched at 2nd he would jsut have to be very fluid which is doubtful but still being optimistic). Statcast recently rolled out a series of new hitter centric metrics with in conjuction with past performance and metrics still paints a promising picture for Mead's future. There are some clear issues but also issues that can be addressed and given how smart of a hitter and his willingness to take instruction can be improved upon. Especially considering we are talking about a player that had a 129 wRC+ with sub 20% SO rate, 12.9% BB rate and a .208 ISO as a 21 year old in AAA to go with a 123 wRC+ 17.3% SO rate, a 12.6% wapk rate and a .221 ISO in AAA as a 22 year old (on top of the great numbers he out up in AA and A ball which in each stop he was underaged for including the past 2 years in AAA). Disclaimer will take a while to read hope those who do enjoy!
First and foremost Mead's calling card has always been his quick bat speed and his ability to impact the ball. Sometimes contact quality won't shine through poor decisions and poor contact but with the new bat speed metric we can readily and easily see bat speed. Mead's is the best on the Rays of players with 50+ at bats. The best by quite a bit in fact. 90th percentile in at 75.1, the next closest Rays player is Randy at 72.8 which is 66 percentile in baseball. The rate he swings the bat at 75+ MPH is also rather high tied with Vladdy Jr. at 52.4% which is 93rd percentile of the 360 batters to log 50+ ABs this year. The power is there and the quality of swing is also there as his swing length of 7.4 isn't fantastic but is pretty standard with many of the best hitters in baseball having similar lengths of swing. He is able to generate great bat speed in a rather compact swing. For reference 2 players that have very similar to Meads bat speed and swing length is Ely De La Cruz (75 MPH and 7.3 feet) and Austin Riley (75 MPH and 7.5 feet). His swing is there, and his Max EV and Avg Evs have kind of shown that this year. His Max EV of 112.2 is 88th percentile only 2nd to Yandy on the Rays, and his 89.3 avg EV is 56 percentile, and his EV50 is roughly in that same ball park. His batted ball metrics show progression and his swing is there so what gone wrong. It's simple, pitch identification and being caught in between a bit.
To explain prospects struggling with pitch ID at the MLB level you first have to understand the state of pitching in AAA. There are little to no high quality pitchers in AAA. The last time hitting prospects see high quality stuff is truly AA. That's generally where the rubber hits the road for prospects, if underage prospects hit well and don't take a step back at AA they are future big leaguers. Not saying there isn't stuff in AAA as there is, just not to the quality of the MLB, just a FO doesn't want to waste the bullets a pitcher has in AAA when he can use them in the MLB. There is still a measure of postives to a guy staying in AAA and fine tuning pitch ID. However the true finesse components of pitching isn't developed until a pitcher is older. Such as commanding sliders in the zone or perfecting changeups and splitters or even locating fastballs up and in. This is why every rookie for the past couple of years has really struggled with SO rates when first called up. Gunnar Henderson struggled heavily with SO intially, by July he stabilized and in my opinion that dude is destined for 6+ WAR seasons going forward and if he ever shift back to 3rd will challenge to lead MLB in WAR every year. Anthony Volpe was similar and looks like a perennial 3-4+ WAR player. Those questioning why Junior Caminero isn't up in the MLB need to understand this, the Rays have so much pressure built up in Junior's development that they won't take chances with him floundering at the MLB level and would rather see him improve his pitch ID in AAA as its his biggest flaw before throwing him to the wolves in the MLB. Sure some physical freaks can defy a poor SO rate but it's never good to bet on the exception to the rule.
So what does this mean for Curtis Mead? Well a myriad of things based on his MILB and MLB performances. Curtis Mead's biggest issue so far has been by far his chase percentages, which has helped fuel a below average whiff%. He has 3 holes in his swing which are in extremely common locations. Middle high is the worse by far generating a 63% whiff percentage. This isn't uncommon at all, Mike Trout famously struggled with it, Josh Lowe is completely anemic at hitting high pitches but is ultra agressive with low pitches and takes high pitches understanding he can't consistently get on top of them, only swinging when necessary. Outside of that up and in and low and in are the only in the zone areas where you see a 30+ whiff% with Mead. MILB pitching could never take full advantage of these wholes but MLB fastballs can and will until he establishes and approach to handle these pitches.
The most clear area he can improve is by laying off pitches high middle/in and pitches that are running low and away. Those low and away pitches are generally sliders and curveball from righties, changeups from lefties, and fastballs from both. That would improve his chase percentage and whiff% lowering SOs, increasing walk rate, and reducing the amount of weak contact generated at these locations. These things were never viewed as a concern in the minors and are mental components of the game that will continue to grow with more at bats. His SO rates in the minors support this as he always ran above average SO rates and walk percentages in the minors as well as superb contact percentages (ran 80+% contact rates in the minors ), while also barreling balls at a 16.4% rate. An approach similar to Josh Lowe's would make since, be agressive with lower pitches and lay off pitches with in high whiff rate areas. I'm sure when he is recalled he will have a different approach then we previously saw.
In the end of the day watching his at bats Curtis Mead always seemed in between on what he wanted to do, unsure of what the right choice would be. His barrel rate being so low kinda shows it. He isn't getting to the contact he reguarly go to in the past and is hestitant to really go up there and swing which was the most natural and easy component of the game for him. Minor tweaks to his approach could be a boon for him while steadily improving with at bats and age. Mental development doesn't stagnat until the late 20s and physically development doesn't until 24-25 for most. The physical tools to hit are there he jsut has to get the mental components of it all to mesh with the physical.
Curtis Mead's mental approach to hitting has always been great and his willingness to take instruction has been evident as he is very open to change and tweaking his approach. There was visble proof of this last year with changes to approach and stance. In the end this is a guy that had superb contact rates, excellent zone control, and plus power in the minors running .200+ ISO's through the minors. Considering the amount of chances afforded to Johnathan Aranda and other prospects I know Curtis Mead is far from out of the Rays future plans, but with the release of bat speed and other new metrics by baseball-savant (bat speed isnt the end all but shows there is a fast bat that can generste plus contact) there is new reasons to be optimistic going forward. There has been evidence to statistically support the idea of reset in the minors improving the mental components of prospects who's struggle in the majors, hopefully when he is recalled both the physical and mental components line up and we see poative progression. It takes players time, Austin Riley didn't look like a future stud his first couple of years, Bobby Witt struggled to get to hard contact his first year, Christian Walker took forever to deliver on his bat speed, the list of players stagnating and fialing off of rip is long particularly when they come up in their early 20s. Might not be this year, but eventually it's going to click for him and I hope the Rays still have him when it does.

• V Blood Carriers have a small chance to drop their equipment, such as cosmetics and/or weapons.
• Cosmetics items will have a small chance to drop, and those items are pretty much the same as the bosses use (Bane's Hood, Maja ink-stained Hands and Legs, etc.)
• Other items that have an even lower chance of dropping are their weapons. These weapons can either be equipped or displayed in a new weapon display case. These weapons cannot be upgraded but provide a different unique attribute. For Example: Tristan Greatsword has a small chance of either causing Fire damage or Cold damage.
• However, weapons can only drop in Brutal Mode.
• Also, in Brutal Mode, if a player decides to fight a boss that is a certain number of levels below the player, the boss will activate a new passive called Adrenaline.
• When Adrenaline is activated, the V Blood Carrier can deal 50% more damage, 15% more elemental resistance and their level increases to match the player's.
• Adrenaline will fade after some time and enter a cooldown state and reactivate during certain intervals. Alternatively, players can use a certain item to force the V Blood to enter a never ending Adrenaline Mode. Anyone have recommendations for a good place to hold a kids party of about 20? My kid’s baseball season is ending and I’m trying to figure out a spot. In the past we’ve done Arthur Mac’s (spent way too much) and Porky’s in San Leandro. Pizza is the easiest but I’m open to anything. Arcade games or something to keep kids busy is a plus. Thanks!

I found a 4 leaf clover last Sunday. Everyone believes it is cursed and want me to get rid of it. I am not sure if it's actually cursed though, or if it actually gives goodluck. The reason Everyone thinks it's cursed is because I found it last Sunday, and the next day (monday) is when the tragedies started. Most of the tragedies have a goodluck, badluck to them. Neutralized luck is what I call it. Neutralized luck is where a bad thing happens to you, but you got lucky it wasn't worse. You can clearly see how it would be worse, but Goodluck stopped it. Most but not all of the tragedies are like this. The first tragedy is my house caught on fire last Monday. The breakerbox exploded and shot out flames. We ended up and having to stay in hotels this last week. The Goodluck is the door to the breaker box flash welded to the gas pipe. Got lucky Everyone isn't dead. Got lucky only the breaker box was damaged. Insurance is probably covering it. From there things just kept happening. My brother in law had heart problems and was in the ER for 3 days. He got lucky to not have a heart attack. Just irregular beat for those days. Next my mom and I worked is worked at the same place. She ended up and getting fired on friday. I'm exhausted because we worked the night shift and they wanted me to work despite the fire because everything's closed during my hours anyway. We will have to see how my work relations go after that. Next my roommates girlfriend might have a tumor in her uterus. His mom has a lump on her breast. And his dad is on his death bed. We will call him roommate number 1. Roommate number 2 his childhood dog died on thursday. We have two dogs and my friend was watching one for us and we had the other. We would let the dog into the backyard of the house during the day. I left her there and went to church. Someone broke into the garage and house and left the doors open. They stole a gun from the house and either took the dog, or she ran away. We don't know. My friend that is watching our other dog just called me crying. The other dog broke his outside leash and ran into the highway and got hit by a car. He was dead immediately.
The bad things keep piling up. But there are good events to counteract some of the bad. Not all have solved yet. The dogs are a hard one. The gun worries me that it will be used in a crime and I will get blamed. I did report it to the police. Everyone believes that the 4 leaf clover is cursed because that's when this started. It's from a type of clover that does not grow 4 leaves. The normal 4 leaf clover from Ireland is a different type. So this one is a mutation. I look at it as rarer and luckier because of the mutation. I look at it like I found a shiny Pokémon. Everyone else says it's bad because it's mutated and the bad genetics create bad luck. I am torn because I don't want to just get rid of it. As a kid I spent hours looking for 4 leaf clovers before I was told these ones won't grow them. So it was a childhood disappointment fulfilled.
So what I was thinking of doing. Is maybe I will post it on ebay as the cursed 4 leaf clover. I will include this story printed out. I will gather as much proof of the tragedies as I can. I know my house was in the paper. Maybe I will get a clipping of it. I have it taped in a vinyl tape but I also took a picture of it when I first picked it. It got scrunched in the tape alittle. But I will add the fresh picked picture. Then I will post it for $500 starting. It would be that big of a number for a cupple reasons. First, is that I don't want to give it up. (Childhood disappointment fulfilled) and if it's actually giving goodluck to counter the bad. second, would be to protect the curious but poor people. Someone who could shell out $500 for a clover is probably rich enough to afford some tragedies. And third, it would help allot in this hard time.
I will post it under the conditions that this post, or other reposts of this story I do, blow up or go viral. If this is viral then it might be worth it because people would be interested in the clover. Could actually sell. Then I know it's worth putting everything together. If this happens, I will leave an update on here with the link to the posting and where to find it.

UPDATE: Two more bad lucks happened today. 5-14-24 Well actually one of the bad lucks happened a few months ago but it completed today. So a few months ago I started having these dreams about these spirits coming in and taking one my pet rabbits. I had these dreams every day for a week. The spirits had already picked a bunny they were taking. After that week, when I came home. All of the rabbit cages were thrown around, and the rabbits were out everywhere. The bunny was not missing. I fixed the cages and put everything back together. The next day I came home to the same thing. Rabbit cages everywhere. But all of the rabbits were accounted for even the one that was chosen. This would happen every day for a week straight. And I did everything I could to prevent the cages from being thrown around. I reinforced them, and made for sure that they weren't falling. But every day I had come home to find them trashed. But was able to get all the bunnies back in the cages. The very last day none of the cages were trashed. Everything was still in its place. Except for the cage of the bunny that was chosen, the door was opened and the bunny was gone. I tore the house apart for 4 days straight, looking for that bunny, but there was no sign. A few months have went by since then. And I've never had a problem with the cages since. I imagined the Bunny running around in the fae lands or something. But I always wonder if I would just randomly find him dead on a day that the bad luck wanted to make me suffer. I found him today. There was a tank of water in my basement, that catches the sewer water that overflows into the basement. It's hard to reach and usually behind the washer but since we have the electrician fixing the breaker box that exploded I took that tank outside and dumped it out. The Bunny came out. Is it almost looked still alive. Just wet. I picked him up and he fell apart. All that was left was hair and bones. This bad luck was one that happend before the clover. But I was right on him appearing at a bad time. A half an hour later, one of my bunnies randomly laid down and died. So I feel like the bad luck took 2 bunnies today. Even though one was actually mouths ago. With both bunnies form both times going at the same time. That tells me all of this was planned. It's been planning all of this for awhile.

My work contract ended 4 months ago. I have UI for six months and some savings so I’m stable at the moment. But I am running out of time to find a job.
Where I am stuck is this overwhelming wall of fear applying for jobs. I have had a couple interviews and when I’m turned down RSD leaves me devastated for a week.
I can barely open my laptop without feeling this heavy soul. So I have not applied for any thing this past week. I am so ashamed because I know the consequences of not being able to pay my bills, but I don’t know how to get past this.
I have some other health issues that make finding work very hard , so I guess I’m at a 0% in confidence
Anyone have advice on taking on a MUST DO task when everything in your brain wants to hide?

Union Organizing Update
Over the past few weeks, several of us from this subreddit have joined together to form an organizing committee for unionization. We have organizers from across the United States, including organizers from Washington, Virginia, New Jersey, Florida and more. They are among some of the most frequent posters and helpers that you’re familiar with already, like ( u/mamabroccoli and u/Inevitable_Laugh4569 ). We have already been in contact with a couple unions for guidance, including a union with an office within a couple miles of the TDC main office in New York City. While our numbers are sufficient and I think we’re making great progress thus far, if you are still interested in having an active role, we’d love to have you. The more people helping, the better! If you would prefer a more passive role by simply giving your support, that’s always appreciated too!
We have been discussing our plans for near future of our potential tutor union. Most of the work from here will be contacting people and spreading the word about unionizing the tutor base. We will be providing more information over the next couple/few weeks. Later in the week, there will be a post about the benefits of unionization. Next week, we will post about the demands we’re going to state at the beginning of any negotiations. We have ideas for further informational posts. This is truly a group effort. I think you will like what we’re offering and will be glad to vote to unionize in the future.

Open letter to tutor.com / The Princeton Review regarding attempts to unionize
Since we're starting the process of putting together a union proposal, we're publicly requesting tutor.com and/or The Princeton Review to voluntarily recognize that we're attempting to organize, and provide the resources necessary to hold a vote. From discussions amongst the committee, we know the main office is aware of this subreddit, and we'd imagine that someone is paying particular attention to our recent discussions about unionizing.
We understand if there's resistance from TDC to seeing their workers unionize, as that's a normal reaction in the business world. However, we urge you to instead be proactive and helpful as we attempt to organize.
We believe a tutor union can work in tutor.com's favor, to a great extent, for a variety of reasons:
* It would be a very good look publicly if you were to openly support the effort to unionize. We're in the education industry, a famously unionized industry, filled with people who will be more sympathetic to companies with unionized workforces. Being the one tutoring company that can truthfully say "We supported our tutors' right to unionize from day 1" could be a major selling point when seeking contracts in this industry.
* From what we've seen from your social media posts, tutor.com does seem to project a degree of progressivism. As an example, you've made posts taking pride in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at tutor.com, and you always try to highlight tutors who receive awards and recognition. You could significantly further this image by taking a union-friendly stance here. You've had executives post about how the tutors are loved - here's your chance to prove it.
* A tutor union would work to infinitely better the company itself. Tutors would feel better compensated and better heard, and as a result feel better and more enthusiastic about the company and their work overall. The better conditions would set tutor.com up as the de facto best online tutoring company to work for, and attract more and better talent to the company. It would be reasonable to set stricter quality standards and, in time, tutor.com would gain a reputation for being *the* premium tutoring service - the tutoring service that has tutors who rise above and beyond those at other services. Retention rates would skyrocket, institutional knowledge would accumulate - we'd become a company of true professionals.
* Were tutor.com to support the unionization process, it would start the relationship between the union and company off with mutual respect, a willingness to cooperate and compromise, and general friendliness and good will. This would ultimately serve us all better than a relationship borne out of malice, a refusal to acknowledge our existence, or open antagonism.
* tutor.com has faced some recent backlash from some right-wing government people regarding where we've ended up through corporate acquisitions, to the point where some are beginning to attack the military contract. One contract has already been lost for this reason. Being seen as a pro-worker company that broke industry norms and went out of their way to support their worker's right to organize, even if the effort ultimately fails, could easily work to gain the company some new allies on the left, shielding it from pointless attacks about its ownership.
We want to be clear that we're not asking for you to come out and endorse a "Yes" vote on unionization - though of course we'd be delighted if you did. What we're asking is for you to provide the resources necessary to hold an informed vote. Let us send out an email to all current US-based tutors with information regarding our efforts, and help us hold a vote to unionize at some point in the future. Offer your support or your neutrality, but please don't openly oppose or ignore our efforts. You've mentioned that "9 out of 10 tutors rate themselves Satisfied or Very Satisfied with Tutor.com" before - let's put that to the test. It may be that we hold a vote, and fail - and then, so long as you maintained neutrality and enabled us to make our case to the other tutors, we'll at least have our mutual good will, and you'll still be the pro-worker company that enabled, rather than hindered, an unsuccessful attempt to organize.
So, tutor.com / The Princeton Review, the ball is in your court now. Our attempt to organize will continue with or without your help, but we believe the best path forward is clearly the one where we work together on this. Doing nothing at all here is the easy choice, but it's also the cowardly choice. Support us, and we'll work together to better this company for its tutors and its students.

Hi there - Ugh.
I'm emotional just writing this. I was with this man for nearly 5 months now, and things just ended.
Backstory (and yes, I know - the FLAGS). He ended a relationship with a live in GF of 7 years in September. We met Jan 1 following, and he assured me, he's ready to date - the relationship was long over and when probed about how I could know he's over his relationship he states "There's nothing I can say that will make this clearer, you'll just have to see for yourself."
5 months go by, things are good - we take a few trips together, and yes, his ex comes up, but it's reasonable and rational comments, he's clear in telling me he's still grieving, and that he's interested to see where this goes, but needs to go slow. He's being a great prospective partner - deep chats, romance, plans with me in the nearer future - so I am patient.
These past few weeks, I'm getting a little antsy - wanting the "where is this going, am I wasting my time with you?" - first chat, he's open clear, wants to continue dating but has a lot of his own stuff to process. Against my better judgement (and after some good wine...) - I bring it up again when we meet in person this past weekend, being clear about what I'm looking for - long term plans. guys...homie upped and walked out. He said he can't give me what I wanted and that he should know after 5 months... and then leaves! We agreed to chat in a few days and left it at that.
We had not chatted yet, but looked this morning and homie unmatched me on the dating app. My heart is stung - we have a plan to chat on Thursday. I am struggling - I want him, but I also want to be strong enough to want what wants me back. Help...

Neptunia Game Maker (R)evolution is another stinker in a long line of disappointing Neptunia series entries. I love these characters and their world, but this is a flat action-RPG with a barebones management game bolted onto it that do not do them right by any means.

I 29F have been seeing this 29M for about 4 years. I’d definitely call it an extreme situationship. We both just graduated from the same school and are doing our next set of education in different cities 4 hours apart.
Our “relationship” started in 2020 when we started school. After hanging out with him for several months, and getting frustrated that he wasn’t asking me to be exclusive, I did a thorough social media sweep and I discovered he had a girlfriend who lived about 6 hours away. When I questioned him, he stated that it is an open relationship. It was very painful to find out he had a girlfriend all along as I had developed feelings for him and wished he had disclosed this information earlier. I should’ve walked away at that point to stop the pain, but I was in too deep and continued to hang out with him at least once a week. I loved how I felt around him, and he put in so much effort to see me and do nice things for me that I felt guilty and bad for his girlfriend, who he rarely saw.
About 3 years after we first met (so early last summer) he and his girlfriend broke up. I felt like he withdrew for a few months to process the breakup and then in this past fall, he really started to show more interest in me, more than he ever had. We took trips to together, we started saying “I love you” this winter, we’ve gone through hard things together. We’re best friends.
And now that we have graduated, we are going to different places and have to decide what we want to do. He says I’m ‘wife material’ and wants to make things work. He is committed to his new location for 2 years, but tells me he plans to work really hard so he has a chance at getting a position in my city next. We are planning to visit every 4-6 weeks on the weekends, just depending on schedules.
The problem is, I can’t decide how serious this man is about me. He puts in a lot of effort to spend time with me and make me happy, and has done so fairly consistently for 4 years, but especially this past year. However, he has dating apps and is active on them. He knows I know…I tell him I don’t like it because it makes me feel like he’s looking to replace me. His response is “well you’re on the apps too.” But I tell him I literally only have the apps to see if he’s on them (the honest truth, my profile isn’t even complete). We aren’t technically boyfriend/girlfriend, so I can see how it is within his right to be on the apps. But it hurts to hear him talk about a future with me and tell me he loves me, just to find him on the apps. He was on the apps when he was in an open relationship too. I’ve never known him to act on anything in the apps (he’s always down to see me when I ask, and when he’s with his friends he really is with his friends). I kind of think he just likes to look. But still…I want to feel like I’m enough for him. What would you do if you were me? How do you approach this conversation again before we move away? I don’t want to wait for someone who isn’t serious about me just to have him playing the field. I don’t want to be 35 and infertile and have no prospects while he’s happy with a partner that he ditched me for. I don’t know what to do. I deserve better than to be his “just in case”, but I love this man. Please be nice…I’m already processing a lot with moving away from family, starting a new phase of training, and relationship issues.
TL;DR: I’ve been seeing this guy for 4 years, call it an extreme situationship. We are moving to different cities, 4 hours apart and have plans to continue seeing each other. We love each other and are best friends. Problem is, he is active on the dating apps and knows that I know he is active and that it hurts my feelings, yet continues to do it. We aren’t exclusive so I understand it’s technically allowed. What would you do if you were me? How do you approach this conversation, especially since we’ve had the conversation before?

Trying to determine if my terrible internet is due to something on my end, or if Teksavvy has been having issues/congestion which is slowing things down.
Been happening for a week or two, I have been noticing a lot of... interruptions I guess? Feels like my internet gets cut off and reconnects, without showing it being cut off - web pages sometimes take a literal minute or two to load, videos don't always load, things like that. I did a speed test and the speed itself is fine, but it even took 3-4 minutes for the speed test to connect to the server.
I am running a pretty old router so that may be the problem, but everything was working fine until recently. Open to any suggestions from those who are smarter than me.

I've been using Arc for over a year now on MacOS and have been waiting for it to come to Windows. Now that it's finally on Windows and I've had the last 4-5 months, here are some of my thoughts.
For people like myself who hate reading long reviews I've made all titles bold so it's easy to read :D

Pros of MacOS:

• Developer mode
  • This is probably one of the best features Arc has for me. Being able to easily navigate between console, network, and elements while working on frontend applications makes life a lot easier.
• Screen capture
  • I usually use ShareX on Windows and the built in screenshot feature on macOS. But with screen capture through Arc it's been really nice to easily capture specific sections of the website/specific components.
• Shortcut for copying link
  • I share a lot of URLs with friends/colleagues. While the shortcut only saves you a few clicks compared to Chrome, it's still so much nicer and more efficent than most other browsers.
• Split screen
  • Kind of surprised other browsers don't have this feature, it makes so much sense. Instead of needing to open multiple windows, I can just split two tabs in the same window. Helps a lot when I'm trying to compare designs, or I just need to look at two windows at the same time. While splitting two tabs on Windows is pretty easy using Chrome, on MacOS it was a little bit harder using Chrome so it's been really nice to have split screen.
• AI for Open PRs
  • I didn't notice until last week but it seems like Arc now picks up when I've opened a new PR on Github and it will put all those PRs into a specific folder. I usually have a query which checks all the open PRs for my work repositories but having this feature now makes life so much easier.
  • Don't remember exactly but I believe it also might tell you when a PR has been approved (don't have a PR up to check if it does this).
• Clearing cookies/cache
  • This same feature is available on Chrome, but you need to go through 4 steps before you can clear cookies/cache. The experience is pretty similar on Arc but the journey feels a lot smoother. I do wish we could customise the developer mode to add some extra buttons, like clearing cache and cookies.
• Boosts
  • Life changing is the esaiest way I can explain it. Usually I need to install a bunch of different extensions to change the experience for for websites, and even then extensions don't allow as much customisation as I would like. Boosts allow me to customise websites as much as I want, from remove whole sections on a website, to changing the color scheme.
• PIP/Mini player
  • Not much to say, I can watch/listen to stuff while also working it's pretty nice. Having the ability to pause/play things without leaving the current tabs is also nice.
• Peek
  • Just wow... Such a nice feature to quickly look at links and then either open a new tab if I want to keep the link open or close and easily continue with my current journey.

Cons of MacOS:

There aren't many if I'm being honest, the only issues I've noticed is high CPU/RAM usage at random times. I've tried looking at the extensions tab/task manager to see if any extensions are slowing down Arc, but didn't find anything out of the ordinary. I've also tried disabling the extensions for a bit, but that didn't seem to help. Performance wise it definitely seems like Chrome is still better, but I that isn't a deal breaker for me.

Quality of life:

• Removes clutter and has clean UX
  • It's clean, minimal, and easy to use. Having a small navigation bar helps focus on the content and whenever you open an website it feels like you're using an application and not a browser. Which in my opinion makes the whole experience a lot nicer and easier to use.
• Searching without opening a new tab is also pretty nice

Windows:

Arc has been on Windows for nearly 6 months now, and I've been using it as my daily driver. With the recent full release, I thought I'd give my opinion of the browser along with reporting some bugs. For some of the pros I won't be giving extra information as the same opinions apply from MacOS to Windows.

Pros of Windows:

• Basic Arc works
  • The basics of Arc is what makes me want to use it every day, this includes the clean side menu, spaces, color customisation, being able to open new tabs without actually opening a new tab, and of course the nice UI. While some of these features still have some issues, 95% of the time they work as expected.
• RAM/CPU Usage
  • I've seen a few people complain about the RAM/CPU usage on Arc compared to Chrome. I've been having the opposite experience, on Arc my CPU/RAM usage is pretty much consistent with Chrome or lower in some cases. I haven't had the chance to do an indepth test on this yet, so some extensions on Chrome may also be playing a part into the extra RAM usage.
• Shortcut for copying links
• Split screen
• Mini player
• Peek

Cons of Windows:

There's a LOT of missing features between MacOS and Windows but I'm not going to cover those. I'm mainly going to cover issues I've found overtime, and things that have been added as "features" but don't really work.

• Inspect
  • I've been running Windows as my default development environment along with Arc. Most of the time Arc works pretty well, but when I need to work with anything to do with inspect I have to switch to Chrome. I'm not going into depth, but can if anyone wants extra information. The following are some of the issues I've had with inspect.
  • Device toolbar doesn't work
  • DevTools doesn't remember the size it was set to
  • Popping out DevTools and popping it back in breaks the whole DevTools UI
  • DevTools popped out sometimes ends up being the in focus and always in front of other Arc window
  • Short cut on the right click menu is always incorrect (For me it says "N")
  • Everything to do with resizing is either doesn't work or is slow/buggy
• Multiple Arc windows
  • Multiple windows support exists, but they are far from working as expected. I can grab a tab from one and drag it out of the window which opens a it in another window, but if I close all the tabs the whole window closes instead of staying as a blank window.
  • Blank windows aren't really a thing. Sometimes I just want an blank window to do some work that doesn't need to be saved. Blank windows on MacOS work really well as they remove all the bookmarks and provide a clean space.
  • I will sometimes close a second Window and it will just crash the whole of Arc and also remove my temporary tabs.
• Search baOpening new tab
  • Arc search bar feels a lot different on MacOS than Windows. I don't know how to exactly explain it but sometimes I'll search for something and want it to do a Google search but it'll randomly take me a url that I searched for a month ago. While this can be useful, it sometimes becomes a headache when I'm trying to search for something new and it opens the url, then I need to open another tab.
  • I will say this has improved since the last few updates but it still has issues when I'm trying to search for single words.
  • Searching for things is slow and clunky, this is another thing that I can't fully explain but whenever I search for anything it just feels slow and some times won't show search results at all.
  • I've only had this bug occur a handful of times but sometimes I'll be searching and I spell something wrong, the second option will have the right spelling and I go to the second option and it doesn't change the value in the search bar.
• Split screen
  • Split screen works, but the experience between MacOS and Windows is so different. I can't drag and drop a tab to one side to open split screen mode. While this feature doesn't exist, Arc have added the possibility to drag and drop tabs onto each other in the navigation bar which has been a lot nicer than needing to right click the tab and adding split view.

  • I can't open incognito without needing to open up a normal Arc window and then going to settings. I hope they add the option to right click on the taskbar icon and open an incognito window.
  • Kind of a nice feature for me (definitely not a bug...) but might be an issue for some other users, you can press CTRL + SHIFT + T to open the previous tab you closed, this usually isn't possible in other browsers when in incognito mode.

Conclusion:
Arc on MacOS is great and has better experience/features than most other browser (there may be some better paid browser options). While there are some CPU and RAM usage issues, it overall works really well. I hope Arc keeps up the great work they're doing on MacOS and introducing new features. It's also been nice that a browser has focused a little bit more on developer experience, rather than needing the developers to spend hours creating their owner features.
Arc on Windows is a bit of a different story. I agree with most of the community, Arc decided to release any unfinished/bug application. But, on the other hand if you've ever worked in tech we all know why they released it as a buggy application. Arc on Windows is not the same application as Arc on MacOS, there are still a lot of core features that made Arc amazing to use on MacOS missing from Windows. I honestly hope some of these feature get introduced soon on Windows and hopefully the bugs are also fixed. Especially the bugs to do with DevTools, once they're fixed I'll move to always using Arc on Windows.

Arc Developers

If you're a developer for Arc and reading this, you guys are doing an amazing job with Arc and keep up the great work. I'm excited to see what you all have been working on, and can't wait to see the new features for Arc on Windows and MacOS.

TL;DR

You're on MacOS? Try Arc, if you don't like it then it's not for you and that's fine.
You're on Windows? Try Arc, if you don't like it give it 6 months and then try it again. If you still don't like it then it's not for you and that's fine.
