2024.05.14 17:56 minetmine Images and link messages always received multiple times

Hello,
I'm using the LightPhone in Ontario, Canada with Virgin Mobile. No networks problems, can text and call perfectly.
However, whenever someone sends me an image or link message, it always resends once or twice a few days later. There doesn't seem to be a pattern - the length of time between the multiple messages varies. Any idea on how to fix this?

2024.05.14 17:12 Tartanclad How Gates of Hell could make a Commonwealth faction truly unique

Recently Gates of Hell released the American faction and did a full overhaul of the German faction, leading to a pair of interesting factions with an incredible variety of historically authentic uniforms. You could zoom in on any of the squads and see the diverse uniforms depicted right down to the insignia on their caps and the regiments on their patches. Shermanator’s interview of Chase/Trudel (the lead animator & 3D human artist) gave me faith in the developer’s passion for the history and the game. This made me quite excited, because we have yet to see a British Commonwealth faction but there is some heavy implication that we can expect one in the future.
I wanted to make this thread, because I wanted to express my desire to see elements in the game that would make the Commonwealth faction a wealth of interesting units, uniforms and nationalities, particularly via the doctrines system that exists within the game. The intention is to throw in representatives across all the major nations of the British Commonwealth as well as some of the Allied armies-in-exile that came under British command. I also want to highlight some of the vehicles that are rarely mentioned in other games due to their obscure theatre or role. For the record, I'm not telling the devs what to do - I'm just making some example doctrines that I came up with as an example of the variety of units I'd love to see and making their inclusion plausible. Mostly to get the community talking.
I won’t talk about early war, partially because ‘Early war’ in Gates of Hell is largely post-Dunkirk, but also because I feel like what I am asking is still quite a lot just for one faction across two eras. I also I won’t be mentioning the more obvious or general units like Stuarts, Crusaders, Cromwells, Grants etc, as I expect them to be added nonetheless. It’s the vaguer aspects of the Commonwealth I wanted to talk about; the weird, wonderful and the diverse.
Mid War Doctrines
I think the mid-war should be largely inspired by the North African Campaigns, centred largely on the 8th Army and utilising the huge variety of cultures that fought within it. Extra bits can be added from the Italian campaign where the faction is lacking, and the Italian campaign can also be represented in the ‘Temperate’ skin for the mid-war faction. There are a lot of inspirations one can draw to create a variety of options for the Commonwealth player and each doctrine should draw from their unique aspects.
All-Round: Inspired by the Desert Rats, the 2nd Battle of El Alamein and Operation Crusader this one balances the various aspects of the other doctrines while keeping it unique. I’d like to see the Infantry include British Desert Rats Infantry, 2nd New Zealand Infantry, & 1st South African Infantry. I’d also like to see South African Marmon-Herrington Armoured Cars (multiple variants) as an early-battle option, plenty of the more common tanks and maybe the Bishop as a slow but mobile artillery piece. As a special call-in, we could probably include the Free French Legionaries as a powerful assault unit, just to really complete the variety in this division.
Defensive: Inspired by the Siege of Tobruk, this doctrine should primarily represent the Australians. Variations of the Australian 9th Division troops as infantry alongside minor British elements with a heavy emphasis on field engineers, emplacements and field guns. Defensive doctrine could also include RAF Regiment infantry, RAF 20mm Oerlikon guns, RAF Rolls Royces, India Pattern Carriers (from the Indian 18th Division), air strikes and, as a special unit, they could even have captured Italian tanks from the 6th Australian Division Cavalry Regiment! As a defensive doctrine, they should also have access to the best mid-war field guns, including the rare (but historical) ’Pheasant’ 17/25 Pounder Field Gun.
Offensive: Inspired by the Battle of Tunisia and Operation Torch, I think this one should show off the might of the UK’s heavier vehicles in the latter stages of the African campaign, particularly the Churchill III, Sherman III, the Priest 105mm and the Stuart Command Tank, alongside the more standard British tank options. As for infantry options, we can include Indian troops of the 4th Infantry Division (India), Gurkhas, and a motorised unit of 22nd Guards Infantry. I would also add the British Commandos in this division - partly because they were involved in Operation Torch, but also because they had an iconic impact on the mid-war (outside of Africa) that it would be a pity not to add them.
Irregular: This one would be quite unique in mid-war as it is effectively the light vehicle special forces doctrine. Although some standard British units would form the basis of the army, they would have access to a variety of assets representing the Long Range Desert Group; Chevrolet trucks with mounted Vickers MGs, Boys AT rifles, twin 303 Brownings or even Bofors and captured 20mm Breda guns! ‘Bamtam’ jeeps with twin Vickers Ks or 303 Brownings. The transport and logistics would be different too, using the Marmon-Herrington 6-ton Heavy Truck or the White 1064 10-ton. Other unique special call-ins would include an LRDG WACO Recon plane and the SAS (armed with the Lewes bomb). The downside to this doctrine, however, is that imagine it to be much lighter on armoured support, relying mostly on towed guns for its heavy firepower.
Other Units: I’ve tried to use inspirations from specific parts of the war to get a rounded but also diverse array of units, but there are loads of obscure units across the mid-war that I’d love to see; the Priest 105mm SPG, the AEC Deacon Gun Carrier, the Daimler Dingo, the Humber Light Reconnaissance, and so on.
That is as much as I want to say on mid-war without labouring the point. I’m sure there’s interesting things I’ve missed accidentally, and I’m afraid there’s some I have missed on purpose. For example, I considered the Australian Matilda Hedgehog, but it turned out to be late war and never used. I also considered the Greek and the Czech Division, but I think I’ve already stretched it too far as regards voice acting alone without adding units that, as distinguished their service might be, are just too obscure without adding anything extra - appearance or gameplay. That said, my hat would go off to the devs if they achieved that.
Late War Doctrines
Here we get to represent the Commonwealth units from Operation Overlord up until Operation Varsity.
All-Round: The quintessential British doctrine, combining bog-standard infantry with hardy tanks and a decent array of equipment. Partially based on Gold Beach, but also Operation Varsity/Plunder towards the end of the war, I would personally give them 50th (Northumbrian) Infantry, RAF Regiment Gunners, RAF Humber Light AC, Churchill AVRE, the Cruiser Mk. VIII Challenger and the Comet. Maybe give them some 6th Airlanding troops and 1st Canadian Parachute Infantry as a reference to the Normandy paratroopers if we feel they need more skilled infantry.
Offensive: The Canadian Doctrine - mostly inspired by the First Canadian Army in Normandy with elements of their experiences later on (including the Battle of the Schelt and Operation Veritable) with the doctrine largely focused on armoured assault infantry. They’ll look quite unique compared to the British because their uniforms were greener and they were the first to use the British-designed Mk.III helmet at D-Day. Troops of the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division as standard, supported by assault infantry. Eventually, armoured infantry can spawn in Buffalos (used at the Battle of the Schelt) and, as a special call-in, Ram Kangaroo APCs (sporting an armoured MG turret). The Otter armoured car would be an early call-in, with M4A1 Sherman Grizzly tanks as well as Ram IIs available in the standard tank tab. Some unique but limited special call-ins would include the Skink AA tank (of which 2 saw historical combat in Normandy) as well as a skilled sniper wielding the Ross rifle.
Defensive: Just as the US Defensive doctrine features the 101st Airborne (no doubt inspired by the Battle of Bastogne), the British Defensive doctrine can feature the British Airborne - particularly based on the defense of Arnhem Bridge in the Netherlands as part of Market Garden. Infantry units can include the 52nd (Lowland) Infantry, 1st Airborne Paratroopers, 1st Airlanding Infantry, Parachute Squadron Royal Engineers and 1st (Polish) Independent Paratroopers (who are distinctive with their grey berets). Armoured units can include the Tetrarch and the M22 Locust. To suit their defensive doctrine, they should get some decent guns and I’m thinking the airborne jeep-towed 20mm Polsten Gun, airborne 17th Pounder as well as (in a departure from the Parachute theme) the BL 7.2-inch howitzer. The Patchett sub-machine gun could make an appearance here too.
Irregular: Based on Sword Beach, Commandos and the 79th Armoured Division, with the more unusual units in the British arsenal. Probably with 3rd Infantry Division Infantry as standard, this unit could have access to No.41 (Royal Marine) Commandos, Fusilier Marines Commandos (based on No.4 Commando’s assault on Ouestreham), the Centaur Mk.IV QF 95mm, the Sherman DD, the Churchill Crocodile and Royal Engineer Assault Teams deployed in the cute Terrapin 4-ton Amphibious. If we want to be really wacky, we could even add the M3 Grant CDL (an unarmed searchlight tank) for armoured spotting, similar to the 150cm Flakscheinwerfer searchlight.
Other Units: Further unique units that would fit in any one (or multiple) of these divisions (based on balance) include the Land Mattress Rocket Launcher, the Loyd Carrier, the Universal Carrier WASP (flamethrower), the Sexton SPG, Sherman Firefly, the Archer TD, Achilles TD, the Priest Kangaroo, the Morris C8, Staghound and so on. There are SO many strange and obscure British vehicles that don’t often see the light of day, but would be perfect for Gates of Hell.
Post-release Doctrines -
More of a final thought than anything else, but if/when the Japanese get added into the game, I’d love to see a fifth doctrine to represent the British 14th Army to match the Japanese. A doctrine that is mostly comprised of Indian infantry and Indian tanks, with representation from the East/West African Divisions, Gurkhas and the British 2nd or 36th Infantry Divisions. Special call-ins could include the Chindits (using Thompsons and the Jungle Carbine) and paratroopers of the 50th Indian Parachute Brigade. If we’re feeling generous enough to allow the doctrine to encompass the Pacific Islands as well, we could also include an Australian squad armed with the Owen SMG, South Pacific Scouts, the Matida Frog (flamethrower) and the Matilda QF 3-Inch.
Conclusion: I apologise for such a long read. But I hope we see how a bit of ambition could really help the Commonwealth stand out and be worthy of the variety seen in the other factions since their overhaul. While the Germans have Spanish soldiers in their ranks, the Commonwealth can see the UK, Canada, India, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Poland, and France (and technically Nepal) all get some recognition. While the German Kriegsmarine and Luftwaffe stand out on the field, the Commonwealth might get the distinctive blue battledress of the RAF Regiment, or the long white tunics of the Foreign Legion. We would see such a variety of hats including pith helmets, berets, kepis, dastars, keffiyehs and slouch hats. Some units, like the LRDG vehicles, might even stand out as unique from any of the nations already in the game. It’s a lot of colourful uniforms, a lot of voices and a lot of strange and wonderful machines.
However, it does come with its downsides. Firstly, Africa and Europe are such dramatically different theatres that their version of mid & late war are incredibly different to one another. So much so that the depth of variety might make the faction too big, making it a lot of effort for the art department (especially with uniforms changing for the map’s climate. Imagine making skins for temperate, desert AND snow). The second issue is whether France is getting its own faction in future iterations of the game (the French flag appears in the loading screen during Axis vs Allies games). The final (and probably biggest) issue is voice acting. I’m no expert on games development, but I gather that getting enough voice actors for a faction is hard enough as it is without having to accurately represent 9 countries at once. I would love to hear the developer’s thoughts on the matter - whether such a project is within the game’s scope and if they have the ambition to take it this far.
Do let me all know what you think as well.

2024.05.14 16:48 Bigdogsz19 33 [M4F] #Allen #Texas - Seeking new connections of all varieties

Heya! These posts/introduction messages always feel awkward and forced for me 😅 so buckle up 🤪…
Let’s get what I’m looking for out of the way, as no sense in taking up more of your time if it’s obvious that we aren’t a fit.
What I’m seeking:
As of current, my primary interests align most with a FWB situation, but I am open to any form of connection that develops organically between us (including simple friendship). I’m relatively open with regard to availability, though in an ideal world you would be open to seeing each other 1-2+ times a week. I’m attracted to a wide range of personalities and body types, so it can be hard to relay my interests there and is usually best just to connect and see if we click or not. I guess in the end, I’m pretty flexible in my interest and desires.
It’s also important to note that I do not smoke or drink at all. I don’t judge if you do either, but I will say that being around cigarette smoke is likely to be a dealbreaker for me. As for weed, I hate the smell, so I just ask that you please avoid smoking it around me. Vapes are fine, just please don’t blow them in my direction as I personally don’t care to breath that in. Alcohol I have no problem being around in all capacities lol get plastered for all I care.
A bit about myself:
It’s always hard to gauge what to share to the world in “bios” like this..I’ll try to highlight some of my most prominent characteristics and details 🤷‍♂️.
Let’s start physical. I’m 6’7”, definitely a dad bod with a bit of a stomach, 33 years young, long brown curly-ish/wavy hair (admittedly facing some male pattern baldness at my forehead hairline, so doing what I can with what I’ve got while I can 🤷‍♂️), brown eyes, wear glasses (if that matters to you at all), maintain a beard at all times (take the hair where I can, right? 🤪🤷‍♂️), and wear a size 19 shoe (putting that out there as it’s always a shocker 😆). No, I never played basketball for any teams growing up, but did play pickup games often after high school. The weather is just fine “up here” 🤪. As for style, or lack thereof 😆, you’ll likely always see me in some form of graphic or plain T-shirt with likely some form of shorts (I love the cold and hate being hot) year round, though every now and then I’ll change it up with pants and/or pollos 🤷‍♂️. I want to be more stylish tbh, but I don’t have the eye for good style, I’m colorblind, and often don’t feel other styles would suit my looks 🤷‍♂️. Speaking of looks, standard bearded Caucasian nerd looking dude lol, though when people see me, they might be quick to assume I’m the standard white conservative Christian type, when in reality I’m far from such (curse the genetics and looks I was born into 😭).
Kink friendly, so any questions or curiosity around such please feel free to bring up and discuss with me further.
I think that’s a good start on physical attributes, let’s move on to the internal ish…
Gah this section is much tougher to fill out 😅. Look, I just love just about everybody, will generally give everybody the time of day and benefit of doubt, can strike up a convo with just about anyone (though sometimes I need the other person to engage the start of that convo 😅), and would do my best to help and protect anyone around. I just want the best for everyone, ya know? I’d say i lean more extroverted, but do battle a moderate amount of social anxiety that im sure you’ve picked up on by now..you’d likely think im more introverted with how often I stay home and how little I randomly reach out to friends/others. It’s not that I don’t love getting out and about and don’t care to talk to my friends, I just get so caught up in my day to day life that it just doesn’t cross my mind, OR I get social anxiety (especially if I haven’t spoken to someone in a long time, I always worry they think I don’t care about them and our friendship).
Beyond this, it’s hard to list my other qualities, so I’ll just move on to interests and maybe that’ll help highlight more?
My Interests:
Can’t help but feel kind of boring and basic when filling out this section 😅. I feel like it’s a lot of what most people list as their interests and that my list is small/limited/boring. Travel Culture/language Food Music (very large and eclectic taste in music) Gaming of any form (video, board, etc) Puzzles/challenges/sports (I love a good challenge, so huge kudos if you are competitive) Technology (always fascinating what we are making in this world) I’d like to learn to dance but right now I’m very self conscious about my terrible dancing (I feel awkward 😔)
Disinterests: Low hanging ceiling fans and light fixtures 🤪
Details regarding my current Poly configuration:
I’m happily married with one child. If I do take on any new partners I never expect you to take on any form of relationship or responsibility for the rest of my family beyond just maintaining a safe space through proxy. My wife and I practice kitchen table Poly, so we are completely open to everyone happily interacting together, but if you aren’t comfortable interacting with the rest of my family no problem! Ask if you have any further questions on how we Poly ethically, happy to answer any questions!
Anyways, I’ve made this long enough…if you’ve made it this far, thank you so much for taking the time to read my post to entirety! Even if we aren’t meant to connect, you and your time are greatly appreciated! Sending my warmest regards and a friendly virtual hug ❤️.

2024.05.14 14:58 shyamyoga What should I look for in a prenatal yoga class?

Introduction:
Pregnancy is a transformative journey that brings joy, excitement, and a profound connection with your growing baby. As you navigate this remarkable time, maintaining your physical and emotional well-being becomes paramount. Prenatal yoga offers a nurturing and supportive practice designed specifically for expectant mothers, offering a multitude of benefits for both body and mind. However, with the abundance of prenatal yoga classes and instructors available, choosing the right one can feel overwhelming. In this guide, we'll explore the essential factors to consider when selecting a prenatal yoga class or instructor, empowering you to make an informed decision that supports your pregnancy journey.
Understanding the Importance of Prenatal Yoga:
Before diving into what to look for in a prenatal yoga class or instructor, let's briefly explore why prenatal yoga is beneficial for expectant mothers:
  1. Physical Health: Prenatal yoga helps alleviate common pregnancy discomforts such as back pain, sciatica, and swelling by gently stretching and strengthening the body. Targeted poses and movements support pelvic floor health, improve posture, and prepare the body for labor and delivery.
  2. Emotional Well-Being: Pregnancy can evoke a range of emotions, from excitement and anticipation to anxiety and apprehension. Prenatal yoga provides a nurturing space for mothers to cultivate mindfulness, reduce stress, and connect with their baby and inner selves.
  3. Community Support: Prenatal yoga classes foster a sense of community and solidarity among expectant mothers, creating a supportive environment where experiences can be shared, questions can be asked, and friendships can be formed.
Now, let's explore the key considerations when choosing a prenatal yoga class or instructor:
Instructor Qualifications and Experience:
  1. When selecting a prenatal yoga class, it's essential to ensure that the instructor possesses the necessary qualifications and experience to safely guide pregnant women through their practice. Look for instructors who have completed specialized prenatal yoga teacher training programs accredited by reputable yoga organizations. Additionally, inquire about the instructor's experience working with pregnant women and their familiarity with the unique needs and considerations of prenatal yoga practice.
Emphasis on Safety and Modifications:
  1. Pregnancy brings about significant changes in the body, including hormonal shifts, increased joint laxity, and a growing belly. A reputable prenatal yoga class will prioritize safety and offer appropriate modifications to accommodate the changing needs of expectant mothers. The instructor should provide clear guidance on how to modify poses to ensure comfort and safety throughout each trimester of pregnancy. Additionally, the class should include practices that promote pelvic floor health and address common pregnancy-related issues such as round ligament pain and pelvic instability.
Focus on Breathwork and Mindfulness:
  1. Breathwork (pranayama) and mindfulness practices are integral components of prenatal yoga, offering invaluable tools for managing stress, anxiety, and discomfort during pregnancy and labor. When evaluating prenatal yoga classes, inquire about the incorporation of breath awareness, deep relaxation techniques, and guided meditation. A well-rounded prenatal yoga class will emphasize the connection between breath, body, and baby, empowering mothers to cultivate a sense of calm and presence amidst the whirlwind of pregnancy.
Supportive Environment and Community:
  1. Pregnancy can sometimes feel isolating, especially for first-time mothers navigating the unknown. A nurturing and supportive environment can make all the difference in a prenatal yoga class. Look for classes that foster a sense of community where expectant mothers can share their experiences, ask questions, and receive support from both the instructor and fellow participants. Whether in-person or online, a supportive community can provide a sense of belonging and camaraderie that enhances the overall prenatal yoga experience.
Accessibility and Convenience:
  1. In today's digital age, online yoga classes offer unparalleled accessibility and convenience for expectant mothers. When choosing a prenatal yoga class, consider factors such as scheduling flexibility, class duration, and the ability to practice from the comfort of your own home. Online prenatal yoga classes allow you to tailor your practice to your specific needs and preferences, whether you're a busy professional, a stay-at-home parent, or someone with limited mobility.
Conclusion:
Choosing a prenatal yoga class or instructor is a significant decision that can profoundly impact your pregnancy journey. By prioritizing factors such as instructor qualifications, safety protocols, emphasis on breathwork and mindfulness, supportive community, and accessibility, you can select a prenatal yoga class that aligns with your unique needs and preferences. Whether you opt for in-person classes or online yoga classes, the key is to find a nurturing and supportive environment where you can safely and confidently nurture your body and baby. With the guidance of a knowledgeable and compassionate instructor, prenatal yoga can become a cherished practice that enhances your well-being and prepares you for the transformative journey of motherhood.

2024.05.14 14:23 micro-pc-tech-inc Oliver Rose - How to Overcome from anxiety

Oliver Rose is a blogger by profession and health lover by passion. Oliver Rose loves to share content related to health, fitness, etc. Anxiety is the most common thing nowadays due to work stress or any other related things. In this post, Oliver Rose is sharing tips to overcome from anxiety.
Overcoming anxiety can be a journey that involves various strategies and techniques. Here are some approaches that can help:
  1. Seek Professional Help: If you're struggling with anxiety, consider seeking support from a mental health professional such as a therapist or counselor. They can provide guidance, support, and evidence-based treatments such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) or medication if needed.
  2. Practice Mindfulness and Relaxation Techniques: Mindfulness meditation, deep breathing exercises, progressive muscle relaxation, and other relaxation techniques can help reduce anxiety symptoms by promoting a sense of calm and relaxation. Regular practice can also improve resilience to stress over time.
  3. Challenge Negative Thoughts: Cognitive-behavioral techniques involve identifying and challenging negative thought patterns that contribute to anxiety. Replace irrational or exaggerated thoughts with more realistic and balanced ones.
  4. Stay Active: Regular physical activity has been shown to reduce symptoms of anxiety by releasing endorphins, which are natural mood lifters. Find activities you enjoy, whether it's walking, yoga, dancing, or sports, and aim for at least 30 minutes of exercise most days of the week.
  5. Limit Caffeine and Alcohol: Caffeine and alcohol can exacerbate anxiety symptoms in some people. Limiting or avoiding these substances, especially in the evening, may help reduce anxiety levels.
  6. Establish a Healthy Routine: Maintain a consistent sleep schedule, eat balanced meals regularly, and prioritize self-care activities that promote relaxation and well-being. A structured routine can provide a sense of stability and predictability, which can help manage anxiety.
  7. Connect with Supportive Relationships: Reach out to friends, family members, or support groups for emotional support and encouragement. Sharing your feelings and experiences with trusted individuals can provide validation and perspective.
  8. Set Realistic Goals: Break tasks into smaller, manageable steps and set realistic goals for yourself. Celebrate your achievements, no matter how small, and practice self-compassion when things don't go as planned.
  9. Limit Media Exposure: Limit exposure to news and social media, especially if certain topics or content trigger your anxiety. Set boundaries around your media consumption and prioritize activities that bring you joy and relaxation.
  10. Consider Self-Help Resources: Books, online resources, and mobile apps can provide valuable information and tools for managing anxiety. Explore self-help materials that resonate with you and incorporate strategies that work best for your individual needs.
Remember that overcoming anxiety is a gradual process, and it's okay to seek help and support along the way. Be patient with yourself and celebrate your progress, no matter how small it may seem.

2024.05.14 14:23 Independent_Side_962 Why am I always attracted to ESTP - INFP girl

Usually they are the ones I fall hardest for and hence I do avoid Dating them mostly. I have dated people who are perfect on paper, perfectly reasonable/logical for me to date and it’s nice but I don’t fall as hard for them , it’s more of caring / secure / appreciation and maybe some form of love for them but it wasn’t like how I felt when I have dated ESTP . Usually they are different from me but somehow I found myself happier as they were just sort of spontaneous/ humorous / a fun teasing and I could argue with. Just noticed this pattern today from my first crushes to relationships. Funnily there is friction,a lots of roasting and still they are the people who make me laugh the most. I have been too many times at this place where I just introduce them to my friends who are more extroverted so as to just avoid the whole thing and not mess up the friendship despite knowing they are into me .

2024.05.14 14:20 Qubexpro_vizag Role of flexible office spaces in 2024 and Beyond

Flexible office spaces, including coworking spaces in Visakhapatnam, are becoming increasingly integral to the modern business landscape, driven by evolving work patterns and technological advancements. Here’s a look at their role in 2024 and beyond:

1. Adapting to Hybrid Work Models

The shift to hybrid work models, combining remote and on-site work, has been solidified post-pandemic. Coworking spaces in Visakhapatnam cater to this need by offering adaptable work environments that can be scaled up or down based on demand. Businesses can provide employees with professional spaces without committing to long-term leases, ensuring both operational flexibility and cost efficiency.

2. Cost Efficiency

Traditional long-term office leases come with significant financial commitments and risks, especially in an uncertain economic climate. Coworking spaces in Visakhapatnam, such as coworking spaces and serviced offices, allow businesses to pay for what they use, avoiding unnecessary expenditure. This is particularly beneficial for startups and small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) that need to manage costs tightly while still having access to professional workspaces.

3. Enhancing Collaboration and Innovation

Coworking spaces in Visakhapatnam often come with communal areas designed to foster collaboration and creativity. By bringing together professionals from different industries and backgrounds, these environments can spark innovation and networking opportunities. The shared infrastructure, such as meeting rooms and event spaces, also supports collaborative projects and team-building activities.

4. Supporting Workforce Well-being

Modern coworking spaces in Visakhapatnam are designed with employee well-being in mind. They often feature ergonomic furniture, natural light, and wellness amenities such as gyms, meditation rooms, and healthy food options. These elements can improve job satisfaction, reduce stress, and boost productivity, addressing the growing emphasis on mental and physical health in the workplace.

5. Technology Integration

Coworking spaces in Visakhapatnam are typically equipped with the latest technology, including high-speed internet, smart office systems, and advanced security measures. This ensures that businesses and employees can operate efficiently and securely, regardless of their location. The integration of digital tools for booking spaces, managing resources, and virtual collaboration further enhances the user experience.

6. Environmental Sustainability

As businesses become more conscious of their environmental impact, coworking spaces in Visakhapatnam are often designed with sustainability in mind. Green building practices, energy-efficient systems, and eco-friendly materials are common features. By sharing resources and optimizing space usage, these offices contribute to reducing the overall carbon footprint of businesses.

7. Global Reach

For businesses with international operations, coworking spaces in Visakhapatnam offer a consistent and reliable solution across different cities and countries. They provide a local presence without the need for permanent offices, facilitating global mobility and expanding market reach. This is particularly advantageous for companies looking to explore new markets or establish temporary project teams.

8. Attracting and Retaining Talent

In a competitive job market, offering flexible working arrangements is a key differentiator. By utilizing coworking spaces in Visakhapatnam, companies can offer employees the option to work from locations that suit their lifestyle, whether closer to home or in a dynamic urban center. This flexibility can be a significant factor in attracting and retaining top talent.

Conclusion

The role of flexible office spaces, particularly coworking spaces in Visakhapatnam, in 2024 and beyond is multifaceted, addressing the needs of modern businesses and their employees.
By providing adaptable, cost-effective, and well-equipped work environments, they support the transition to new work models, enhance productivity and innovation, and contribute to sustainability goals. As the nature of work continues to evolve, office spaces in Visakhapatnam will remain a cornerstone of the future workplace landscape.

Benefits of Using AI for Personalized Content Recommendation

In this article, we'll explore the benefits of using AI for personalized content recommendation and how it can positively impact businesses and consumers alike.

Introduction

Personalized content recommendation refers to the practice of delivering content to users based on their preferences, behaviors, and past interactions. By leveraging AI algorithms, businesses can analyze vast amounts of data to understand user preferences and deliver relevant content recommendations in real-time.

Understanding Personalized Content Recommendation

Before diving into the benefits of AI-powered personalized content recommendation, it's essential to understand how it works. AI algorithms analyze various data points, including user demographics, browsing history, and engagement patterns, to generate personalized recommendations. These recommendations can include articles, videos, products, or services tailored to each user's interests and preferences.

Enhanced User Experience

One of the primary benefits of AI-powered personalized content recommendation is the enhanced user experience it provides. By delivering relevant content recommendations, businesses can ensure that users find value in their interactions with the platform, leading to increased satisfaction and loyalty.

Increased Engagement

Personalized content recommendation can significantly increase user engagement by delivering content that resonates with each individual user. When users encounter relevant and compelling content, they are more likely to spend time on the platform, explore additional content, and interact with the brand.

Improved Customer Retention

By providing personalized recommendations tailored to each user's interests and preferences, businesses can improve customer retention rates. When users feel understood and valued, they are more likely to return to the platform regularly, increasing customer lifetime value and reducing churn.

Enhanced Targeted Marketing

AI-powered personalized content recommendation enables businesses to deliver targeted marketing messages to specific audience segments. By analyzing user data and behavior patterns, businesses can identify opportunities to cross-sell or upsell products and services, resulting in higher conversion rates and revenue.

Time and Cost Efficiency

Automating the content recommendation process with AI algorithms can save businesses time and resources. Instead of manually curating content for each user, AI can analyze data at scale and deliver personalized recommendations in real-time, freeing up valuable resources for other tasks.

Data-Driven Insights

AI-powered personalized content recommendation generates valuable insights into user behavior, preferences, and trends. By analyzing user interactions with recommended content, businesses can gain a deeper understanding of their audience and refine their content strategy accordingly.

Personalized Recommendations Across Platforms

AI algorithms can deliver personalized content recommendations across various platforms and devices, ensuring a seamless user experience. Whether users are accessing content on a website, mobile app, or social media platform, they can receive relevant recommendations tailored to their interests.

Challenges and Considerations

While AI-powered personalized content recommendation offers numerous benefits, it also comes with its challenges and considerations.

Privacy Concerns

Privacy concerns are a significant consideration when implementing AI-powered personalized content recommendation. Businesses must ensure that they are transparent about how they collect, store, and use user data and comply with relevant privacy regulations.

Data Security

Data security is another critical consideration, as businesses must protect user data from unauthorized access or breaches. Implementing robust security measures and encryption protocols can help safeguard sensitive user information.

Overreliance on Algorithms

While AI algorithms can generate personalized content recommendations, businesses must be cautious not to over-rely on them. Human oversight and intervention are essential to ensure that recommendations are accurate, relevant, and ethical.

Conclusion

In conclusion, AI-powered personalized content recommendation offers numerous benefits for businesses and consumers alike. By leveraging AI algorithms to deliver tailored content recommendations, businesses can enhance user experience, increase engagement, improve customer retention, and drive revenue. However, it's essential to consider the challenges and considerations associated with AI-powered recommendation systems, such as privacy concerns, data security, and the risk of overreliance on algorithms.

2024.05.14 13:18 ireallydon_tknowwhat How do we go from here?

This is a long story, so bear with me please. English is not my native language, so sorry for any mistakes. I don't by any means want to point a finger to anyone, just want to explain the background of our relationship.
I am together with my BS for 5,5 years. We know each other for 6.5 years. Our relationship started rather rocky. BS has commitment issues and didn't want a relationship at first. This has led them to cheating (kissing only) on me four times (that I know of). Three times during clubbing and under influence and one time while they were on vacation with family. This was during our first 1.5 year together. I found out and they confessed. They texted with some people and one of them was one who BS cheated on me with.
During our relationship they had a friendship with one of their coworkers. They told me them was interested in BS, but BS not in them. They had been friends before BS and I knew each other. During New Years Eve 2022 they said under influence: 'I met with coworker two times behind your back'. They said that I was too fragile and wouldn't understand them meeting with coworker, because I voiced that I was a bit intimidated with their relationship (they would spend long evenings together at each others house while being drunk and sometimes driving with their car). They met with coworker some other times and eventually I didn't hear anything from coworker again. I only met coworker once, they were drunk, but friendly. I went to a psychologist several times to discuss everything what happened.
Fast forward to New Year's eve 2024. I was clubbing with my BS, and two friends. There was someone who wanted my friends instagram, but my friend didn't give it to them. So I took their phone and entered my friends name. BS saw this and thought I was giving my instagram. I tried to explain what happened, but they wouldn't listen. They pushed me away so I went upstairs with said friend. The day after they barely remembered anything. I let them know that if this would happen again, I would leave (this wasn't the first time BS was acting not okay while drunk).
Fast forward to January 2024. We went on a ski vacation with friends. I had a really good connection with one of BS friends (AP). I have known AP for more than 4 years. We always had a good friendship, but it developed even more during the vacation. AP was very kind, caring and helpful. AP is in a relationship of 10 years, their partner was also there on the vacation.
Me and BS met a few times again with AP after the vacation, nothing happened. AP texted me beginning of March saying they would like to meet with me. I didn't say this to BS. We went for a run and had a very good talk about our relationships. They expressed their doubts about their relationship. AP texted me some time after again to go for a run. This time there was more tension in the air and they kissed me. We met five times in total and had foreplay once and sex once. I didn't know how to tell my BS, even though I should have told BS immediately. I made an appointment with my psychologist mid April to help me approach the situation. But on the 24th of april, AP's parner called my BS and told them they found evidence that we cheated on them. My BS' world collapsed. They would have never imagined I would do something like that and I completely understand BS. This is so out of character for me (I don't want to minimize what I have done, but when I go out there are people who will flirt with me, but normally I am very good at maintaining boundaries).
BS first wanted me to move out and didn't want to talk to me. But in the meantime we have met four time. The first two times were pretty heavy. BS was angry (understandable of course), sad and everything in between. BS was very harsh to me and told me I was a psychopath. Of course I understand that they were filled with anger. BS doubted everything about me and that I could lie so good. BS is also very angry that I, BS and AP met occasionally while the affair was happening.
AP and I cut off contact immediately.
I showed BS the mail I send to the psychologist that I made an appointment before it came out, but I don't think that it made any difference (understandable again).
The third time we met, we talked about the situation and how this could have happened. I had a meeting with the psychologist the day before and told BS about our conversation. I told BS about our sex life that was rather dead (I tried to work and discuss it several times before, but nothing changed), I told BS about our future perspective and that I was the one who always had to initiate talking about buying a home together (I lived in an appartment BS bought) and lastly our communication pattern. BS bottles a lot up and when BS finally says what bothers them, it comes out rather harsh. Because of that, I am hurt and it makes it difficult for BS to discuss something again.
We have met yesterday again. I was there for like nine hours. We discussed the situation again. BS had some questions and I answered them truthfully. BS says that I deal very well with the situation and that they see that I do my best. BS said that they feel 50/50 about our relationship. BS said that they don't know if they sees a future with me. BS says that I had the right reaction to see my psychologist again. BS, unfortunately, doesn't want to do counseling. BS says that they can block what happened sometimes, because the pain is too much. Other times BS let the pain come. BS said they miss me and still love me. I asked if I have to move within a certain period. BS said 'no'. I asked if they want me to move away and BS said 'I think it is better that you do.'
After the serious talk, we watched two episodes of a series and played some boardgames. I told BS that if they want me to go away or if it is too much, they need to tell me. But BS said that it was a fun day. I told BS that I am scared that we would rug sweep to much and don't talk about the elephant in the room. I also told BS that I am aware that BS can decide anytime not to talk to me again and that I know that one good day doesn't make everything right. BS said that they can see that I know that. I asked BS if they want to work on our relationship together, but I think this question was too early because BS deflected this question. I said I want to do everything in my power to make it work and even want to go to couple counseling.
When I left, BS gave me a big hug and we cried a lot together. They said 'maybe we can meet again this week.' BS asked me if I got home safe.
I really don't know where to go from here. I have hope that we can work on this together, but it is such a rollercoaster that I caused. Do you have any advice for me? Do I approach this the right way or not? Thank you so much in advance!

2024.05.14 12:18 MagicalMusical1 Snow White vs Snow White Debunk

Snow White vs Snow White Debunk
https://preview.redd.it/p94gmf5jbd0d1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=c46cb17b87dbca0da690eb4fb1e31af33a82523b
Hey everyone, MuscialMagical-1 here. I’ve been noticing a lot of debunks recently, so that must mean that they’re really popular and that I should make one as well. And luckily for me, there’s some idiot named MagicalMusical1 who just so happened to make what I consider the WORST matchup ever, so I’m going to absolutely debunk it now.
I’ve wanted to do this for a while, since my original post on the matchup was when I was just starting out writing connections. It’s still my number one favorite matchup of all time, and I’m not going to stop pushing for it, so let’s run this back again.
Didn’t ask. Moving on.
Note: SINoALICE lore is confusing and there’s just straight up multiple different versions of Snow White. I’m getting all my information from what I believe is the main incarnation of the character (Character Descriptions of the original classes, and the Main Story of SINoALICE Though even in the main story there’s like three different versions of Snow White in the lore but shhhhh) Also, there’s going to be a lot of yapping, so take caution
Why are you debunking yourself not even a minute into your connections list. Are you stupid? Also, I am absolutely prepared to yap back, so you’re the one who should be taking caution
Core Theme: Two similarly named characters who fight for justice by taking down those who are evil after the loss of those close to them. As their journeys progress, both will struggle with being their ideal selves, and be filled with self-doubt. However, there’s a very notable contrast with their paths of justice and how they handle their flaws.
You’re already putting these connections on your connections list anyways, so I don’t have to debunk this part at all
Two major characters in series that are darker takes of their respective genres (Magical Girls/Fairy Tales) with the two taking direct inspiration from those older media (MGRP Snow White’s design is based on classic magical girl outfits/SoA Snow White is literally a stand in for the Snow White in the original fairy tale)
First connection in and there’s already so much wrong here. First of all, Magical Girls and Fairy Tales are not similar in the slightest. Second of all, bro have you seen magical girl and fairy tale shit dude. This weird girl named Minky Mono literally gets hit by a truck and in the original Snow White, The Prince literally orders the Queen to wear a pair of red-hot iron slippers and to dance in them until she drops dead. Those both are so much darker than whatever you’re trying to say here. And lastly (Yes I’m still not done yet), comparing clothing to in your words “literally a stand in for the Snow White in the original fairy tale” What an absolutely comparable connection
They were initially naive, believing in the good in others despite the many times they’ve been proven wrong (MGRP Snow White believed that magical girls were pure, righteous champions of justice, even as the death game was ongoing and after she’d been attacked multiple times by other magical girls/SoA Snow White didn’t recognize the seven dwarves treating her like a slave, and even after her mother tried to kill her, she still wanted to forgive her)
This one isn’t too bad, since at the very least you’re comparing people that tried to kill both, but then you decided to put slavery into this one, really?
However, their breaking point would come after the deaths of those they were close to (La Pucelle and Hardgore Alice/The Prince). Both would blame themselves for these incidents (MGRP Snow White would believe that she was useless as she didn’t take any action that could’ve prevented these incidents/SoA Snow White would blame herself for letting the death of her prince occur, exclaiming that she’ll never forgive what happened)
Okay and now we’re back to the bad stuff. See, MagicalMusical1 uses “those they were close to” to hide how incomparable these people are. The Prince is literally her lover and husband, while La Pucelle and Hardgore Alice are just her friends.
From there, both would swear to use their strong senses of justice to never let these events happen ever again, deciding to go out and defeat those who are evil to make the world a better place (MGRP Snow White taking it upon herself to capture rogue magical girls/SoA Snow White swearing to punish all evil and enforce justice).
Erm, actually one is only fighting a certain type of person while the other is punishing all evil. This isn’t comparable in the slightest
Their personalities shift into stoic fighters who are ruthless to their enemies, yet still kind to those they consider allies.
Generic as fuck.
While we would never directly see these characters administer their justice (It is only stated that MGRP Snow White was able to capture around 30 rogue magical girls/It’s implied that SoA Snow White ruled over her nation as an good enforcer of justice and changed some endings of stories for the better), we will see their paths changing as they go on a journey for another person important to them. (MGRP Snow White goes around trying to look for any clues regarding the whereabouts of Ripple/SoA Snow White goes around killing nightmares in order to revive her authors, The Grimm Brothers)
Firstly, MagicalMusical I know that you don’t actually have the evidence that SoA Snow White ruled her nation as a good enforcer of justice and only are getting that from her TV Tropes page. Secondly, bro why are you doing the “person important to them” shit again. The Grimm Brothers are literally SoA Snow Whites’ creators while Ripple is just MGRP Snow White’s friend.
On these new paths, they try to hold on to their ideals, but over time, their flaws become apparent, and they begin to doubt themselves. (MGRP Snow White continues to get roped up into deadly situations but unable to save everyone like she wants to, causing her to not believe herself to be deserving of her title of Magical Girl HunteSoA Snow White begins to doubt her justice as she continues the immoral path of killing sentient and potentially innocent beings in order to achieve her goal, with the voices of those she killed haunting her)
Ah yes, one is regretting not saving enough people while the other is regretting killing. I can absolutely see the connection there (Breaking character for a moment, holy shit that’s actually another badass contrast this matchup has now that I think about it.)
Extra connections that aren’t really about major story beats/are kinda a stretch thanks to the aforementioned multiple different versions of SoA Snow White in the main story, but still interesting to note the coincidental similarities these two share:
Again, please stop debunking yourself in your own connections list please. And these aren’t even safe either.
Both deal with manipulative mascot-type characters that try to drive both, and other characters like them to kill each other. (Fav, manipulating the events of Unmarked to turn it into a magical girl death exam/Parrah and Noya, who force the cast kill each other, most notably in Act of Elimination)
Parrah and Noya are puppets, please tell me where the “mascot-type” comes from.
While initially put off by these characters at first, both would eventually have a friendship with an Alice in Wonderland inspired character with a darker color scheme and a theme of obsession (Hardgore Alice, who is very focused on being with Snow White and protecting heAlice, who has a theme of bondage and feels heavily attached to her author)
Okay, not only are these characters obsessed with two different people, but one’s named Alice and the other is named Hardgore Alice. Completely incomparable.
Both are noted to be very beautiful (Magical Girls in MGRP are described to be “too beautiful to be human”/SoA Snow White, similarly to the story she’s based on, has incredible beauty that mesmerized everyone in her country)
Bro this connection is so generic that I literally cannot find anything to debunk about it.
Both would eventually be reunited with the person they were looking for, only for an unforeseen event to occur that caused them to lose said important person once again and cause the two to be broken once again (MGRP Snow White would be able to find Ripple, but in her mind control we state, Ripple would kill someone and run away once the mind control wore off, leaving MGRP Snow White to feel helpless and lose hope for a moment/SoA Snow White eventually revives her author in Act of Authors, only for Henrietta Dorothea Wild to be revived instead, and after Snow White killed her, her justice was put into question, leading to herself falling into despair)
Okay, I already said how the important people here aren’t comparable so I'll just say that MGRP Snow White’s friend is killing someone while SoA Snow White is the one doing the killing.
In different points in their stories, both get involved with deadly mobile games with the same name as their series. (The death exam that MGRP Snow White would be involved with would begin due to the Magical Girl Raising Project mobile game/Act of SINoALICE takes place in the real world, with the characters having to deal with nightmares that spawned due to the in-universe SINoALICE mobile game)
The death exam happens in the beginning of MGRP Snow White’s story while Act of SINoALICE happens near the end of SoA Snow White’s story.
Unsure about this one yet as MGRP: Red isn’t translated yet, but from what I’ve heard, both would battle, and lose, to another version of themselves who has less qualms with killing (Homunculus Snow White/Reality Snow White)
I’m skipping this one too as I haven’t read MGRP: Red either. It’s probably wrong tho.
Both have a connection to Batman of all characters (MGRP Snow White has been called the Batman of Magical Girls by the fanbase due to her backstory and the fact that she has a supercomputer assistant mascot/SINoALICE did a collab with DC Comics, with Snow White getting a class where she dressed as Batman) (Yeah this is a huge stretch, but the fact that you can make this stretch at all is the funniest thing ever)
Both are the fan-favorite characters of their respective series, even placing first on official popularity polls.
Oh yeah they have the same name.
Damn all three of these connections are actually solid (especially the Batman one) I have nothing to say here
Contrasts:
What? These aren’t connections. I don’t have anything to say here because the only thing that really matters are connections.
So that’s all for the connections, but the potential is bad as well. There’s literally no reason why MGRP Snow White wouldn’t just ignore SoA Snow White, and I don’t see why SoA Snow White would care about MGRP Snow White since she didn’t really care about Reality Snow White in Act of Elimination.
And the fight potential reeks as well, you’re taking SoA Snow White, a character with swords, bows, polearms, hammers, orbs, instruments, books, staffs, literal nightmares, against someone with only one weapon and then MagicalMusical1 then tries to say that Half-Nightmare Snow White will be used in the fight when that’s never happened in the main story of SINoALICE.
Debate:
I’m skipping this. I literally do now know what MagicalMusical1 is yapping about here.
So in conclusion, aside from debatability this matchup literally appeals to me on all fronts. A combination of good and funny connections, coupled with an amazing contrast. Interesting dynamics in both the fight and interactions. The potential for a very emotional story. And it uses obscure series and characters, one of whom is my favorite fictional character of all time and the other is also a strong contender. Yeah in my opinion this matchup is peak.
Nah bro, in conclusion this matchup sucks. It has bad connections, bad potential, and I forgot to say anything about the story but that probably sucks as well. And you’re using two obscure characters that will never be on Death Battle in the first place, so why even bother? So no, this matchup isn’t peak at all.
Besides, both have better anyways with Snow White vs Madoka Kaname and Snow White vs Kafka Hibano
…What the fuck did I just write?

2024.05.14 11:51 SunshineHero Controlling DM, Controlling Player

Not sure this counts as a horror story, but my friends think I should post this, so here it is. It all took place years ago so my memory isn't the best, but I did document some events or was so grossed out I will never be able to forget.
TLTR: DM ignores everyone and gets mad when I tell him no, don't know if I'm the problem or not.
Couple years ago I used to play dnd with a group of online friends. Our first game was classic one. We met in a tavern, showed interest in same quest and teamed up for it and our party agreed to share the loot. I was playing elven bard, DM's girlfriend (I'll call her Stacey) was playing orc barbarian Snak, and since other 4 players never really spoke up or added to this story I won't confuse you with too many details.
Our first few sessions were somewhat fine, ignoring the time a bandit leader made a r*** threat at my character during our very first fight, but on our 3rd session we almost got all killed during a difficult fight we were not ready for. After that the DM decided to introduce his DMPC to the party, a dragonborn fighter. He joined us on the quest and off we went. When we reached the ruins where the item we were supposed to retrieve was, we were faced with an army of orcs and two live statues. Looking back it was likely set up to be show of strength for the DMPC, but in the moment I thought we were all going to die. We were only level 3 and if five cursed bears almost TPK us, no way could we face 20+ orcs and two statues. I was playing horny bard stereotype, something I checked with the whole group and everyone was okay with, so I asked dm if I could roll to seduce a few of them to give the party even a small chance to make it out of here alive. I roll Nat 20 and the dm tells me I seduce the whole army, which took them out but landed my character pregnant. I was uncomfortable with that, but it made sense in a way so I didn't say anything. I sat out the fight against the remaining statues, which confirmed alone that yes, if the orcs had been involved we would all be dead.
We do our thing, a player includes second character, a warforged fighter. The next couple sessions nothing bad happens rp wise, but I did notice a pattern during combat. Most had taken up second characters, so the party started getting closer and closer to 10 members. I was always last in turn, and the DMPC and his gf were if not first, then second, and when it finally came my turn after 6 other player characters everyone who survived DM and Stacey was already dead. I brought it up with the dm, who promised to boost my Initiative from 2 to 4 to let me get at least bardic inspiration in. He did, and the fights after that I was closer to middle, but come my turn everyone was already dead. No matter the enemies, I got maybe 3 turns after that in total during the whole adventure. He also started ignoring every other character, making the whole quest about Snak. The only relevance anyone else had was my bard being Snak's friend, and DMPC her boyfriend. Everyone else totally ignored. We eventually stop playing that campaign as the dm was now rewriting the story, and started a new one.
The new game was superhero themed and honestly not that bad, the DMPC still being totally overpowered, but at least there were enough enemies to give everyone a turn, even if the DM killed everyone left on his second turn. The only bad thing really was the dm making me play info broker npc without giving me any heads up, or asking me if I was okay playing npcs for him. I would have been if he had asked even an hour in advance instead of right before interaction with said npc. Outside of making his dmpc the offical leader of our hero team, nothing alarming happened, and we retired the campaign 5 sessions in due to unfinished writing.
Next campaign was one shot. I was heavily drunk when the dm asked me to make my character over text and with voice messages I managed to make rogue tabaxi named River who liked to look into peoples pockets. The game took place next day and in serious hangover I didn't feel like changing my character, so I went with it. Except instead of just looking and taking maybe 5 coins or less the dm described how River stole everything the characters had from their coats to last penny of their life savings, and not stopping even when I begged him to, or letting me put the items back. I had to waste my time finding where these characters live to return the items I unwillingly stole. I ended up no longer doing anything in the game, as checking pockets was the only entertainment I had while the DMPC and Stacey's character played the story.
However my last straw came when I decided to set up my first campaign and asked our forever dm to join as player. This was my first time dming and I was reading every rulebook I could find. We were playing on Roll 20 and Marcus (the dm) had bought some additional content and offered to let me use them. I told him "Thanks, but I prefer doing it myself so I can learn everything better. It was still nice of you to offer tho." He got really mad, going on a rant of how I didn't appreciate/like him and how I was basically saying "No, f*** you." I was really confused and spent the whole night trying to apologize and saying I didn't mean that at all. It was a bad night and made me feel awful. We eventually moved past it and started making characters. Another player wanted a bard cobalt whose only weapons were a lute and a dagger. I knew right away his combat would not end well, so to bring him to same level with other characters I let him pick a level 5 spell and he wanted Hold Monster. Still not very useful but at least he was more balanced. Marcus threw a fit, asking what if someone wanted a fighter, what benefits could they get, and so on. Again it took me forever to calm him down and beg him to just trust me on this.
Final straw for me was when came the time to make his character. He wanted Tortle with a shotgun as a weapon. I was worried, because the world the game was set in was close to Lord of the Rings as far as technology went, so gunpowder wasn't invented yet. I asked if the gun could be powered by mana stone or something magical, but he once again got mad and complained I wasn't listening to him. He went on a long rant saying he was afraid of me, I was mean and controlling and so on. We eventually agreed his character was first to invent gunpowder, and since my only issue was gone I was more tan happy to let him have that.
I should have distanced myself from him then and there, but it wasn't until I sent my friends online and irl screenshots of the converstation asking if I was really like that, trying to get a mirror pointed at me, when it finally hit me how toxic this was. All my friends agreed I had done nothing wrong, so maybe it wasn't me who is the problem. This was a pattern, in and out of dnd. I say something with even a hint of rejection, he gets mad, I apologize for an hour, he apologizes and takes the blame, we move on and repeat. I sent him a message saying the campaign was on hold and asking to distance myself from him and saying he could remove me from his server if he wanted to. He got annoyed, but agreed, saying he hoped this would be good for our friendship in the long run. 2 months without contact and he sends me a message, but having realized without him around I had a lot less anxiety, so I ended the friendship and he kicked me from all group servers, dnd included. I'm not close from anyone from that group anymore, but I have heard over half of the members have left because of him, so just maybe I wasn't the problem.
Sorry for the long post and may the dice god bless you with Nat 20 when you need it the most.

2024.05.14 11:35 Sea_Independent_3831 Working with a disability

Hi, I'm 23, I live in the UK, and I have a laundry list of physical and mental health issues that are still largely undiagnosed due to our failing healthcare system, so I'm also being left to completely self manage. Now the government is trying to push disabled people back into work without actually providing the necessary health care and support and I don't know what to do. I'm estranged from my family so I have no support that way and have no choice but to live independently, I have to be able to pay my bills and living costs, and I also have no idea if a job even exists that I'd be suitable for.
I dropped out of secondary school because my health was so poor my school attendance was 34%, I am unqualified to do pretty much anything. I'm considering going back into education hoping that it will open some doors but even that would be a monumental task so here are my limitations:
I would need a minimum of 3 days a month in sick days just to manage my endometriosis flare ups, I would not even be able to work from home on those days as they are mostly spent on the bathroom floor somewhere between consciousness and unconsciousness in unmanageable pain.
I have joint and mobility issues that have a flare/remission pattern and are wildly unpredictable, I wake up with dislocated shoulders frequently and randomly, I could go 6 months with my knees being fine and then have recurring patella dislocations that leave me wheelchair bound as crutches cause my elbows problems. I might be able to work from home on days this is an issue.
I have social and sensory issues that are thought to be undiagnosed autism (my brother and father are autistic, I showed all the same signs as my brother, I was just punished for my traits while he was accommodated.) This affects me in work profoundly because I frequently misunderstand instructions or feedback, take things very literally, am seen as overly pedantic and difficult to instruct, and get very burnt out by any kind of customer facing roles, and things like work uniforms, jobs involving unpleasant sensory tasks, can all cause me to experience periods of verbal shut down, self injuring behaviour, repetitive motion (pacing, rocking) and become intolerant of lights, sounds, and temperature. This is a constant issue that I don't know how to manage.
I have chronic pain that also has flare ups, baseline pain, and somewhat remission, it affects my muscles and joints and is unpredictable, baseline pain I'm somewhat functional but limited, flare ups have me bed bound and unable to concentrate. I may be able to work from home on some of these days but not others.
I have digestive issues that cause nausea, alternating bowel movements between cant go and going too much, episodes of passing blood, mucus, extreme painful bloating, severe nausea and weight loss, but there are brief periods of remission. I probably wouldn't be able to do a full day of work from home during a flare up due to the time constraints of actively being in flare up.
I have been coughing up mucus to a point of bleeding from the back of my throat for about a year, I also have episodes of air hunger with pain and wheezing. Again, thank you NHS for no diagnosis or treatment. I could work from home during a flare up of this issue most of the time.
I have some kind of blood pressure or fainting issue, when I stand, I'm close to fainting, its worse when standing still, sometimes walking just about keeps me going but sometimes it ends with my faceplanting the floor, loosing consciousness and fitting. This is unpredictable and I've done everything I can to manage symptoms (cutting out nicotine, caffeine, sugar, pushing fluids and gentle floor based exercise when possible.) I would not be able to go anywhere during a flare up, I'm dubious about my ability to work from home during a particularly bad episode as post faint/fit I'm usually confused and out of commission for hours.
I also struggle with depression, getting out of bed, showering, making food (when physical issues allow) can be a struggle. I also have CPTSD, anxiety, agoraphobia, PMDD, derealisation and depersonalisation. So on bad mental health days, I don't feel real, the world doesn't seem real, I'm reliving traumatic events, can't leave my home, and have back to back panic attacks while having no energy or inclination to care for myself.
All in all, I don't think anyone would want to employ me, and I'm very uncertain about my ability to work, but seeing as my government has created an environment where I can't get adequate healthcare to manage any of my conditions, doesn't believe that I'm that severely disabled due to lack of formal diagnoses for the physical health problems despite my medical record reflecting me seeking help since age 10 for most of these issues, and therefore is now trying to force me back into work or else stop all my payments leaving me homeless and penniless, I'm not sure what to do. I can't stay with family, and they would not financially support me regardless, I've got no safety net. I don't think any jobs exist with the flexibility I need, AND the certainty I'd need of income.
Any advice would be appreciated, I'm really trying to rack my brain for any workable solutions but it's looking bleak.
TLTR:
Physically disabled, mentally ill, unable to access adequate health care, no family support, and possibly being forced to work despite not being able.

2024.05.14 11:16 ireallydon_tknowwhat I (F,31) betrayed my boyfriend (M,34)

This is a long story, so bear with me please. English is not my native language, so sorry for any mistakes. I don't by any means want to point a finger to anyone, just want to explain the background of our relationship.
I am together with my BS for 5,5 years. We know each other for 6.5 years. Our relationship started rather rocky. BS has commitment issues and didn't want a relationship at first. This has led him to cheating (kissing only) on me four times (that I know of). Three times during clubbing and under influence and one time while he was on vacation with family. This was during our first 1.5 year together. I found out and he confessed. He texted with some girls and one of them was one of the girls he cheated me with. During our relationship he had a friendship with one of his coworkers. He told me she was interested in him, but he not in her. They had been friends before BS and I knew each other. During New Years Eve 2022 he said under influence: 'I met with x (coworker) two times behind your back'. He said that I was too fragile and wouldn't understand him meeting with her, because I voiced that I was a bit intimidated with their relationship (they would spend long evenings together at each others house while being drunk and sometimes driving with their car). He met with her some other times and eventually I didn't hear anything from her again. I only met her once, she was drunk, but friendly. I went to a psychologist several times to discuss everything what happened.
Fast forward to New Year's eve 2024. I was clubbing with my BS, and two friends. There was a guy who wanted my friends instagram, but didn't give it to him. So I took his phone and entered her name. BS saw this and thought I was giving my instagram. I tried to explain what happened, but he wouldn't listen. He pushed me away so I went upstairs with said friend. The day after he barely remembered anything. I let him know that if this would happen again, I would leave (this wasn't the first time he was acting not okay while drunk).
Fast forward to January 2024. We went on a ski vacation with friends. I had a really good connection with one of BS friends (let's call him Jasper). I have known Jasper for more than 4 years. We always had a good friendship, but felt it developed even more during the vacation. He was very kind, caring and helpful. He is in a relationship of 10 years, she was also there on the vacation.
We've met a few times again with Jasper after the vacation, nothing happened. Jasper texted me beginning of March saying he would like to meet with me. I didn't say this to BS. We went for a run and had a very good talk about our relationships. He expressed his doubts about his. He texted me some time after again to go for a run. This time there was more tension in the air and he kissed me. We met five times in total and had foreplay once and sex once. I didn't know how to tell my BS, even though I should have told him immediately. I made an appointment with my psychologist mid April to help me approach the situation. But on the 24th of april, Jasper's GF called my BS and told him she found evidence that we cheated on them. My BS worlds collapsed. He would have never imagined I would do something like that and I completely understand him. This is so out of character for me (I don't want to minimize what I have done, but when I go out there are guys who will flirt with me but normally I am very good at maintaining boundaries). He first wanted me to move out and didn't want to talk to me. But in the meantime we have met four time. The first two times were pretty heavy. He was angry (understandable of course), sad and everything in between. He was very harsh to me and told me I was a psychopath. Of course I understand that he was filled with anger. He doubted everything about me and that I could lie so good.
AP and I cut off contact immediately.
I showed him the mail I send to the psychologist that I made an appointment before it came out, but I don't think that it made any difference (understandable again).
The third time we met, we talked about the situation and how this could have happened. I had a meeting with the psychologist the day before and told him about our conversation. I told him about our sex life that was rather dead (I tried to work and discuss it several times before, but nothing changed), I told him about our future perspective and that I was the one who always had to initiate talking about buying a home together (I lived in an appartment he bought) and lastly our communication pattern. He bottles a lot up and when he finally says what bothers him, it comes out rather harsh. Because of that, I am hurt and it makes it difficult for him again to discuss something.
We have met yesterday again. I was there for like nine hours. We discussed the situation again. He had some questions and I answered them truthfully. He says that I deal very well with the situation and that he sees that I do my best. He said that he feels 50/50 about our relationship. He said that he doesn't know if he sees a future with me. He says that I had the right reaction to see my psychologist again. He, unfortunately, doesn't want to do counseling. He says that he can block what happened sometimes, because the pain is too much. Other times he let the pain come. He said he misses me and still loves me. I asked if I have to move within a certain period. He said 'no'. I asked if he wants me to move away and he said 'I think it is better that you do.' After the serious talk, we watched two episodes of a series and played some boardgames. I told him that if he wants me to go away or if it is too much, he needs to tell me. But he said that it was fun. I told him that I am scared that we would rug sweep to much and don't talk about the elephant in the room. I also told him that I am aware that he can decide anytime not to talk to me again and that I know that one good day doesn't make everything right. He said that he can see that I know that. I asked him if he wants to work on our relationship together, but I think this question was too early because he deflected this question. I said I want to do everything in my power to make it work and even want to go to couple counseling.
When I left, he gave me a big hug and we cried a lot together. He said 'maybe we can meet again this week.' He asked me if I got home safe.
I really don't know where to go from here. I have hope that we can work on this together, but it is such a rollercoaster that I caused. Do you have any advice for me? Do I approach this the right way or not? Thank you so much in advance!

I've been friends with this girl for about 5 years now. We've gotten very close and I still have love for her but I just don't feel like this friendship is adding much to my life anymore since I don't feel like our relationship is very equal.
For context/background, I recently experienced a series of deaths in my immediate family as well as moving to another city so I've been going through a lot of stress and emotional turmoil. I would call her from time to time and admittedly a lot of those phone calls would be me crying and moping around. I hoped that she would be supportive but most of those calls would just result in telling me that I had bad vibes or change the subject back to her, usually about her dating life. I've been there for her for when her long term boyfriend broke up for her and even staying with her for weeks to make sure she was ok but when my mother passed, she didnt call me back until the next day and spent maybe an hour with me the next day since she had made dinner plans with someone else.
I did express to her that I felt like she hadn't been there for me as a friend and it felt like she didnt understand why I was upset but she apologized and I just didnt have the emotional capacity to fight with her so I just accepted her apology and I've just been cordial with her at this point. I don't really have the desire to continue this friendship anymore but we have a lot of mutual friends and I can't deal with any drama but she's texted me asking "why I don't love her anymore". I have no idea how to respond since I wanted to just let this friendship fizzle out and avoid conflict since I dont think she understands why I've been keeping my distance.

2024.05.14 09:31 that_one_Kirov Optimizing Maddening Hex

The Warlock has some invocations tied to Hex and curses. Relentless Hex isn't particularly interesting, so we'll talk about Maddening Hex here.
The problem with Hex is that usually, the warlock has better things to concentrate on by lv3-5. So we could start our thought process on things that proc Maddening Hex but don't require Concentration. There are 2 such things: Hexblade's Curse and Bestow Curse cast with Sign of Ill Omen after lv9. Sign of Ill Omen is 1/day, so we'll need to be a Hexblade.
The second problem with Maddening Hex is that the enemies might not be bunched together and can in fact spread out, so we need forced movement. Since we're a Hexblade, that could be the Crusher feat(Telekinetic would defeat the point of taking Maddening Hex as it wants your bonus action) or Repelling Blast. Repelling Blast would be more useful as it gives us more movement and it isn't limited to working once per turn.
To utilize Repelling Blast, which pushes people away from us, to push our cursed target next to other enemies, we'll need to be able to run around the battlefield to position the cursed target between us and our other enemies. That would require a good speed, which means taking Variant Human with the Mobile feat, Satyr or Dhampir. Dhampir also has the advantage of having Spider Climb and allowing us to take a CHA half-feat at lv4.
So, the character will be a Dhampir Hexblade. As we aren't using weapons in this build, we will take Pact of the Chain(to deliver Bestow Curse with our familiar and get some Chain-specific invocations). At levels 1-2, we will be concentrating on Hex, then we'll take Blur, at lv5 we'll concentrate on FeaHypno Pattern, and lv7 gives us Shadow of Moil, Banishment and Sickening Radiance. The stat array will be:
STR 8
DEX 14
CON 15+1
INT 8
WIS 10
CHA 15+2
