Disclaimer: Post is unorganized and wordy, im trying my best to form my thoughts!
26 F ive had star since she was 6 months we essentially grew up together, shes my first ever pet now we live on our own. I'm a huge fan of raw feeding my dog after watching 'petfooled' (2016), made the change to her diet immediately; Swapping her kibble to grain free incorperating raw meats, fresh bones, vegetables hip & joint suppliments. Realized at the time, I was too inconsistent with that kind of feeding. (pre neurologically-based disability diagnois) kept her on the rachel rays grain free Chicken kibble hoping that would improve her longevity. At that time she was catching a UTI so frequently (monthly) Drs wouldnt perscribe antibiotics without running tests, cause still unknown. Observational learning told me that, on top of her seasonal allergies she could be allergic to poultry, changed from chicken to salmon, it helped the shedding! Since 2020 shes had a whole host of ailments come up, I'm sure that's due to her senior age. She does go get regular check ups. pre hypothyroid diagnosis ive always struggled with her weight from adolesence to middle age which would range from 75-80, that was without any treats and 20 min walks at the time she was only getting 2.5C of food daily per drs instructions. her dr is less than helpful when it comes to quality of life improvements: dissmissing my concerns with "shes just fine of shes just old" then finally getting her to test positive for hypothyroidsm was a big one.
Since living on my own in '22 I've made some consistent changes low impact exercise (collected) 3 orthopedic dog beds, a cooling comfort bed, ive even changed my standard matress to an orthopedic one just incase she sleeps in my bed.
Star a 2012 F 29kg/65 lb. American Staffordshire Terrier model with hyperthyroidism, Cushing Disease, chronic UTI's and repaired CCL rupture.
Her 2x Daily meal is : 1 Levothyroxine every 12 h 2 Fluoxetine every 24 h 3 Benadryl every 12h 8oz Rachel Rays Grain free salmon kibble 117 G of ground raw dog food from a local butchers consisting of turkey, bones and offal. not a fan of it being turkey since poultry allergy. 12oz Brutus Beef Bone Broth. Misc. Vegetables has about 3/4 water bowls around our living space.
I've slowly incorporated those items into her diet over the past couple of years and it seems to help in other ways. Con her fur continues to thin her tail is nearly bald, pro now only seems to get Uti & incontinence when im out of her raw dog food. i wish i new the science behind that. con/pro? shes extreamly thin now- boney and lethargic. Am i doing whats best? should i make more changes? is this what its like preparing for them to cross the rainbow bridge? any feed back/conversation would be helpful.

The first thing is to vote out anyone who will not actually address the issue. There are too many politicians who embrace the border issues because they help in reelection. If a politician is not part of the solution, they should be removed.

Background: Me (26F) and my husband (26M) are having a bit of a dispute and I want some advice. My father in law (fil) and his wife is going on holiday to Portugal to visit my husbands grandma, see his farm etc very soon. He’s been desperate to take our 4 year old daughter to show her Portugal as she’s never been. I’ve already said no for over a year because I don’t want to be away from her for that distance for me it’s just too far away, especially as we don’t drive and don’t have a lot of money to get there ourselves if anything happened. Well fil has finally annoyed my husband enough who had also been saying no til now and he’s caving going okay fine I had fun as a child on holiday with his dad so we should let our daughter go to have that fun.
The issue: For me I already feel uncomfortable with the idea of her going abroad without me or my husband. Neither of us have annual leave to be able to go with her and we won’t get new annual leave til January 2025. So we can’t go, I feel nervous her being so far away. She stays with fil and his wife loads but they’re only 40 minutes down the road although we only recently moved, before that we were practically neighbours, her school was quite literally the building next to our apartment so she’s always been close and again she’s 4 years old. In total between where we are and travel time to where they’ll be excluding any delays and the waiting times so literally just travel time is 5 hours so like closer to a good 7 hours plus it being abroad between us and her and a lot of money it won’t be easy nor fast for us to get over there.
My fil wants to take her for 3 weeks. Well he started with 1 week, now wants 3 weeks, then let it slip he wanted 2 months. I have firmly put my foot down and said absolutely not 7 days including flying days are what I will allow. I’d rather not allow it at all but my husbands on his side saying I’m being selfish that I’m taking away fun for her etc that he was okay as a child (but he was around 7/8 years old btw when he first went on these extended holidays, also he has a terrible relationship with his mother as no contact so for her she really didn’t care all that much) and that basically I’m being pointlessly difficult and will make problems for him (as he has to stay at his dads house a few nights a week because of his job being in our old town only offering hybrid and his dad is unbelievably annoying and stubborn and will just moan about it constantly basically) by me saying 7 days. I’ve said I’m happy to tell him myself and take full responsibility for the 7 days timeframe.
But my husband is pissed that I won’t budge on the 7 days, saying that fil will never accept that, to be able to do the things he wants to do he can’t do it all in a week. He thinks I’m just being an ass for just the sake of being an ass basically and that I’m unjustifiably against 3 weeks which husband has decided is okay out of nowhere. Fil is a safe person I trust him but she’s going to a country she doesn’t know the language to and again way too far away for my comfort. I wouldn’t agree to my own dad taking my daughters abroad so it doesn’t matter who is asking for me it feels unnatural for her to be so far away. Also if we could drive and had more money I’d feel better so that if something happened we could make a quick exit and get to her asap, I’d also feel better if this has happened lots more often but this is her first ever holiday and first time flying so I’m nervous about how she will cope as she is a very anxious child and has delays in learning, communicating and speech already and that’s in her first language. It was only a couple months ago a dr said they feel she may have asd because of said delays but needs to do more investigative work first.
So her age, her current speech in her native language let alone if she got lost or in trouble abroad, her delays, she’s just recovering from a gut infection, her being her first holiday and first flight I just really worry her going at all that’s why I offered 7 days including flying day as a compromise to please husband and fil.
I’ve said if he gets early morning flights like 6am land around 8/9ish they have a whole day in Porto to do things, his grandma (where they’d stay) is a couple hours away everything from his grandma is around 30 minute drive. They want to take her to their farm and to three towns. For me 7 days is plenty of time especially if they get a late afternoon or evening flight home on the 7th day.
I have said as she gets older and I feel more confident about it as does she then she can go for longer but this is first time and I don’t want her going at all so I’m trying to compromise on 7 days including flying days.
Idk I can’t seem to shake this

I've been doing sprinkler repair for a few years now and I've encountered an usual problem. One job site has a Hunter Node-BT battery powered controller in a valve box with four 1" RB valves. Zones 2-4 all work, both by using the app and the controller start button. Zone 1 won't turn on. I replaced the solenoid and no luck. I tried connecting Zone 1 solenoid to Zone 2 wire from controller, turned on Zone 2, and no luck. I replaced the valve, which came with a new solenoid, and. . . no luck. The common wire is good. When I manually open solenoid, the zone turns on. What else could be preventing the valve from opening?

I've been riding EUC for a little over a year now for my daily commute. I switched from years of riding One wheel and couldn't be happier I switched. I currently ride a KS-18 XL I bought used and overall I'm pretty stoked with it. That said, I do have a few steps I take it up daily and have already broken the handle clean off once and will honestly say I don't know how long till it breaks again. I also love my speakers being built in as I used to strap BT speakers to my Onewheel in the past and don't love riding without music. As a daily commuter, I'm looking into upgrading to a brand new wheel with suspension to save my knees before they get any worse. Because I've overall been soaked with the ride of my KS-18 XL, I had been looking into the new Kingsong S19. I've been seeing very mixed reviews regarding value and build quality. I don't ride super hard very often and don't particularly need a wheel that goes much if any faster or further than my XL as it's well over met my needs for the last year. Based on my biggest wants & needs, what wheel would you suggest? Or is there one right around the corner I might regret not waiting for? As a recap, my biggest wants are: 1) Suspension 2) Comfortable Ride 3) Loud Speakers 4) 30ish MPH top speed 5) Similar range to the KS-18 XL Open to all suggestions! I got awakening for christmas almost 10 years ago and I instantly got hooked into the world and characters. Even to this day i can basically remember every character from the top of my head, but playing it again I can see some things that can be aproved on. So (outside graphics and full voice acting throught the game of course) what would you like to see if they remade awakening for the switch or the next nintendo system? What would you like them to change about the story, characters or gameplay?
Anything below here will contain spoilers to awakening, so be warned.
For me, 1) improve the villians. The villians in awakening are pretty bland especially coming from 3h. I think to improve the 4 main villians (Gangrel, Walhart, Validar and Grima) they should make them more memerable somehow. Starting with Gangrel they should make him more of a tragic villian. Have him start off seeming like a one note villian just wanting a war, but the deeper into his arc they start to show how hes gone crazy due to chroms father killing his family when he was child. Maybe, in one of the chapters (after Emeryn dies) have him monologue to chrom saying something like "what did you feel chrom when you saw your sisters dead body? Did it hurt? Did you feel anger, sadness, regret? Most it feel weird to lose someone you care about right infront of you. That pain, that regret, that anger you felt when she died is what I feel every day since i was a child. I was scared when your father burst into our city, I felt anger when he paraded my father and brothers across the city like pigs to the slaughter. I felt anger not when he had his men do what they wanted to my mother and sisters. I felt so helpless as they slit my families throats. You know, I only survived because my brother convinced a soldier I was just a slave. How could I be the only survivor of that monster? Ive asked that question every day. Everyday, my family calls to me to avenge them. Night and day they call to me, and now, finally, I killed one. Now, I just have 2 more then I shall have peace." I think doing this will help flesh out gangrel more.
For Walhart IDK exactly how to make him better except for making him more of an unmovable object kinda thing. Maybe have us play a one-off chapter as Basilo and in a that suicide march against Walhart rather then it being a cutscene. Also, make sure the player knows hes trying to unite the whole world under one banner so humanity can be united before grima is awakened.
For Validar I think they need to make him delusional and smarter. I think they should change awakenings prologue or whatever to show Validar, Robin, and Robins mothers past. Maybe have it so they show Robins mother fleeing Plegia with Robin as a baby to Ylisstol which will eventually lead to her death by Validar and the grimleal followers,which, in turn, will eventual lead to chroms father starting the war with Plegia. Validar justifies all the killing he does to the fact that he believes the lie that grima will bring peace to the world and bring the living to the dead. So he really wants to resurrect Grima to bring his dead wife back to life. Also, I think he should be the main reason most of awakenings plot happens in the remake without being totally stupid like he is in the original.
With grima, have him be more of a threat throughout the story.
2) Have each arc be more connected. Gangrels, Walharts and Grimmas arks are all kinda just thrown together so connecting each of them would be cool. Maybe have it where Gangrel starts the war with ylisse but seeing that hes losing, Aversa suggets aid from the mighty king on Valm, Walhart, who'll help in their aid if he gives walhart the fire emblem, Gangrel agrees but obviously hes killed before walhart can arrive. For walhart to grimas arc, I think Excellus (the purple haired tactician of walhart) should be a spy for the grimleal and would steal the fire emblem from chrom and book it out of there. Now having the fire emblem, all the gems validar can start the awakening ceramony.
3) have there be open 3d spaces to run around in, like a camp like in FE engage, where you can go there to spend more time with characters and stuff but not be needed like in 3h. Maybe have optinal dungeons that can unlock world building, powerful loot and characters.
4) Just have more lore in general and have some side characters be more important to the story outside their intro chapters.
5) have there be choices that affect the ending. If robin makes too many evil choices and doesnt have a lvl B or higher support rank with chrom and a few other characters, have him kill chrom and turn into grima. If he turns, let us play as grima and kill the remaining shepards, but if he doesnt turn, have the story continue as normal. I think this will help strengthen the story about bonds.
6) Explain grima more. I dont fully understand how grima works. Why does grima need a human body? How is robin grimma? Is grima the human or the dragon? I kinda have it as head canon the grima is like a titan in attack on titan where the human body is grimas actual body but the dragon is just kinda like a mech that is controled by his human form.

I (24M) am planning my first ever solo trip to the Czech Republic this September, but I'm still hammering out the exact order of things.
I have a rough list of locations I would like to go to, but as it is a solo trip (where I will be largely staying in hostels and hopefully meeting new people), I am fairly open to changes.
I was thinking of spending 5 nights in Prague (with possible day trips to Bohemian Paradise or Tisa), 2 nights in Cesky Krumlov, maybe 1-2 nights in Telc, and 4 nights in Brno (with possible day trips to Moravian Karst or Mikulov).
I love food, beewine, art, and history. I'd love to hear about some festivals/events/parties that might shape my itinerary.

The title reflects my assumption that the draft minutes correctly report what was said on April 9. If this was misreported in the minutes, I will delete the post right away.
There is nothing in the state statutes which requires that a single tourism entity receive the 70%. The 70% portion of the room tax money may be distributed to multiple tourism entities, if that is what the Door County Tourism Zone desires. It happens that there is only one tourism entity presently receiving the money, but it doesn’t have to be that way.

If the Ephraim Business Council received enough room tax money from the Tourism Zone, and passed it to the village of Ephraim for tangible municipal development, that would qualify for the 51%. Eligible tangible municipal development expenses count as a form of “tourism promotion and tourism development”, according to https://docs.legis.wisconsin.gov/statutes/statutes/66/vi/0615/1/fm

That means it meets the “destination marketing staff and services” requirement.
The Ephraim Business Council could create a committee made up of entirely of unpaid Ephraim village board members. The council could receive a portion of the 70% directly from the Tourism Zone, and allocate it to the village for eligible tangible municipal development purposes according to the decisions of the committee.
That things could be set up this way is contradicted by what the DDC representative said at the meeting, according to the draft minutes. State law has restrictions about how to spend the 70% portion of room tax money, but her comment over-stated the extent of the restrictions. This is what https://docs.legis.wisconsin.gov/statutes/statutes/66/vi/0615/1m/b/2 states:

the commission shall contract with another organization in the zone to perform the functions of the tourism entity.

This does not expressly prohibit a commission from contracting with two or more organizations, each receiving a part of the 70%.
The quoted comment from the DDC representative came as part of a discussion on whether room tax dollars from the Community Investment Fund could be spent on fireworks. Elsewhere, https://doorcountytourismzone.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Open-Session-Packet-April-2024.pdf#page=32, it is revealed that the village of Ephraim has accumulated a legal bill of $22,548 over their complaint regarding the Community Investment Fund. In responding to the complaint, the Door County Tourism Zone has spent $4,903. Ephraim would like the Tourism Zone to pay the $22,548 so they don’t have to, but the Tourism Zone won’t pay it.
This is a waste of tax money. A democratic alternative to wasting more tax money on legal fees would be for a special joint meeting to be held for all board and council members, from all Door County municipalities. Together, they could write and vote on a resolution expressing their intentions to the Door County Tourism Zone. The resolution could be more of a general nature if there isn’t much agreement, or it could spell things out more precisely if that is possible.
Topics they could consider:

• Whether more money should be spent on legal expenses
• What percentage of the 70% should be allocated to DDC
• Which other tourism entities ought to receive contracts with the Tourism Zone, and the proportion of the 70% which should go to each tourism entity
• Proportion of room tax which ought to go to tangible municipal development
• Which projects ought to be funded with tangible municipal development, and which tourism entity should be responsible for funding the projects

When writing the resolution, the votes could be taken by municipality, the representation from each municipality having one vote. A majority of all the municipalities could pass a measure. If a small number of the municipalities balked at participating, a meeting with a majority of the municipalities could be held anyway. When it is finished, each municipality could decide to individually approve or reject the jointly-written resolution. This could be done at the joint meeting, for municipalities which have a quorum present. For those lacking a quorum, approval could wait until the next regular meeting.
A resolution written in this manner would not be legally binding on the Tourism Zone, but the Tourism Zone board members would be practically compelled to follow it. If certain board members don't comply, they could be removed and replaced, since the members serve at the pleasure of the principal elected official in their member municipalities. Today is a very special day for me.
Unicorn Platform is at $300,000 ARR!
I bought it two years ago for $800k with 40k users.
After having one bad year after the purchase, the next year, I managed to grow it to 128,328 users, who built their Websites, Directories, Job Boards, Launchpads, and landing pages for their SaaS, Personal, App, Course, or Podcast.
How I got there (last 12 months):
1. Redesign.
I went through 1000+ support tickets one by one to 100 frequent requests.
At first, I wanted to start fixing them, but it'd taken us a year. I slept on this idea for a few weeks and realized that half of these may be solved by changing our entire UX from page-based to canvas-based. Like Notion, where there are no pages. It's only a canvas with a page, and everything else comes in popups.
It just erased 80% of the tasks from the backlog.
Then we tackled the remaining 20%(not all ofc, still working on it).
It reduced churn from double-digit to single-digit.
2. SEO.
I knew very little about SEO a year ago, so I had to learn a lot from scratch. Instead of implementing just one strategy, I went on to try pretty much all of them at once

• looked at existing keywords I rank for optimized pages for that to win even more traffic
  
• looked at competitors and created articles for the same keywords
  
• worked hard on domain rating, reached almost 80
  
• half of my pages weren't indexed, I used an indexing tool
  
• created lots of articles for nonrelated topics for the same audience
  

3. Directories.
I saw traffic from directories 2 years ago on my other project(marsx). So it pushed really hard on listing on all directories for Unicorn Platform too. back then, most directories were not so popular yet, so I was kinda lucky to list there early and as they went viral, I got really good share of that traffic too.
4. Product Hunt.
We launched there in July. If you win the product hunt, there is a very long aftershock. You end up in newsletters and blog articles. We took 2nd place, but it was a very busy day. We scored over 1000 upvotes, so we got pretty good traffic and results.
5. Talking to users. Helping them.
I sent an email to every paid user asking for feedback and starting a discussion. I talked to at least 300 of them. It helped me figure out some low-hanging fixes I could do to keep them, and I also had a very strong network effect afterward. Many new users would tell me they got a recommendation from their friend.
Eventually, I started simply helping out all my users every day(I still spend at least an hour a day). For free. With my feedback on everything they ask, tips, and advice. I even connected one guy who was raising a round to an investor.
6. Social Media.
I shared all my steps—not just MRRs but my actual steps on how I got there and what I did. Many of such posts went viral and helped other makers grow their products. This led to X becoming the top 4 traffic source for sign-ups.
7. Traffic from my directories & products.
I have 24 products in total.
So my other 23 products drive traffic to this one via links in the footer and banners, and sometimes I recommend it in an email. About 30% of the traffic comes this way.
Also, I have over 20 directories, some of which are very successful, and they drive good traffic, too. I had a gut feeling about directories 3 years ago. But my friends kept saying, "Directories are out of hype by now..".
So, I gave up on the idea until November, when I launched the gpt directory, which went viral with millions of visits. After that, I built a few new directories every month.
8. Word of Mouth.
I track this via social media mentions, and it's my most important metric. It's the one in a pair with SEO that leads to PMF. In Jan last year, I was pretty sad to see that the viral "best landing page builders" posts on the internet would never have Unicorn Platform in them.
But all that I did above helped, and we started to appear in many such posts. Today, 90% of the mentions come organically from people on the internet.

9. Affiliate partners.
I've been running it for 8 months, and it works.
People bring sign-ups, and they eventually convert into paying users. Easy to setup. No effort at all once it's running.
10. Paid ads.
This one is short: I tried and failed. Most likely, I need to learn more about this, or maybe it never works.
11. Sponsoring other directories.
I sponsored a few directories to place my banner there.
I like it. There is traffic. The ROI seems good. I wanna do more of it. If you have a directory that's visited by busy founders, let me know, and I may sponsor you.
12. More templates and blocks.
I hired an amazing designer. He is the next Johnny Ive, trust me. We created many new templates and components.
Now, we're working on a new update that will 10x the power of Unicorn when it comes to visual stuff. Once this is out, you'll forget what webflow and framer are.
Imagine getting similar power with 10x less time than is needed and 20x easier UX.
13. Cross promo.
We partnered with Senja by adding their testimonial block to our third-party blocks. Now, Unicorn users can add Senja blocks with just a few clicks. It's so powerful that users love it and use it. We drove traffic to Senja, and they drove some traffic to us by posting on social media about this integration. We may do more, for example, sending an email to all our users about Senja, and Senja sends an email to all their users about a Unicorn.
I have many more such collaborations coming. The next one is RapidForms. Users will be able to add very advanced forms with multiple steps and even payment steps.
