My Poor Truck

My Poor Truck
I got home from Home Depot and couldn’t turn off my 2020 ram 1500 limited, the push button just didn’t respond. I ended up pulling the relay for the fuel injection and it turned off. After disconnecting the battery and reconnecting I realized that not only won’t my car not turn off but the proximity entry is not working. I can however lock and unlock via the key fob and even use the remote start (but can’t hit the button once i enter the vehicle). I’m not sure what’s going on. I’m thinking testing the relays/fuses is probably the next best step.

2024.05.11 20:08 mullighanisdog Interviews from the Zone - The Ecologist - Part 2

*Serhii breaks out into a deep coughing fit. He apologizes and we continue\*
Ostap was now starting to get on my nerves. The Captain had sent him to retrieve me, he was raving mad, threatening me with all sorts of disciplinary action. Apparently I didn’t hear him yelling for me from the sidewalk outside. It was already getting dark at this point, and the Captain was extra paranoid about spending a night this far deep in The Zone.
Ostap already had the container in his hands. He opened it, and I carefully placed The Cue inside its four lead-lined walls. The container was heavy, but a necessary piece of equipment. Without it, the radiation from the artifact would kill us all.
The Captain wanted an immediate report. I delayed for as long as possible, trying to think of how I should articulate what the hell I just saw in a way that would also gain the Captain’s cooperation. You see, the Captain had full command over our mission's transportation. I knew that I needed our vehicle if I had any hope of getting the artifact back to the laboratory. This also means that the Captain could at any point deny me this transportation if he felt that the risk of transporting the artifact was too dangerous. This was standard protocol, standard life-saving protocol. I knew it was important, but I also knew that The Cue needed to get back, at any cost.
So what did you do?
I carefully downplayed the situation.
I instructed Ostap not to say a word to anyone about what he saw. I told the Captain directly, in private. I told him that The Cue had been disarmed, and that Stanislavs injuries were a result of his sloppy handling of the artifact. I told the Captain that I had conducted thorough tests and determined that The Cue was now safe. I threw some random numbers and measurements at the Captain that I knew would just cause him confusion, but would help to make my findings seem legitimate and trustworthy.
Without giving the Captain time to think, I told him as confidently as I could that we needed to secure the container inside of the BTR, as far from the driver as possible. We would secure the container with straps and I would personally sit next to it, to ensure it’s safe transport. With the container in hand, I then started marching towards the BTR.
The Captain bought every word, and began giving orders to his men to hurry up and help me. I felt glorious, and for that brief moment everything seemed like it was going to be okay.
The container was secured with straps to the floor, under my seat. When no one was looking, I carefully slipped off my soft kevlar vest and placed it over the container. I had to be careful not to get caught, because I knew this would raise suspicion. I didn’t want it known that I still had legitimate concerns of The Cue exploding during transport. I was nervous, I kept running the tests through my head over and over. Telling myself that if it was going to explode here, it would have exploded during the tests. As long as the artifact remains in the container, we are safe, we will be fine.
Stanislav was then loaded up. He was sedated heavily and coming in and out of consciousness. I could see now that his injuries extended up past his left hand, and that most of his left forearm was also wrapped in a deeply-soaked bloodied bandage. I pitied him, if he survives the radiation, surely his arm will need to be amputated. The medical officer had applied a tourniquet above the elbow, dating the time of application in the little white rectangle at the top of the apparatus. I remember looking at the time on the tourniquet, then checking my watch. It had been four hours. Four hours.
*Serhii breaks into a sudden and uncomfortable laugh, broken quickly by another coughing fit\*
My heart sank into my chest, and I could feel my anxiety spiking. I thought that was impossible, surely I misread his writing. I thought to myself, I had only been in the department store for forty minutes, perhaps fifty at most. I then checked my test records to confirm. The first three tests were conducted at 4:05pm, 4:11pm, and 4:18pm. Then I knew that I had to wait thirty minutes before conducting my second set of tests. I checked the log, expecting the times to be around the 5pm mark. The three times read: 6:46pm, 6:51pm, 6:56pm. How is that even possible? I was stumped, baffled. I looked down at my feet, at the container beneath me, and I swear on my life, I felt the thing inside breathing. By the time the true horror set in, the vehicle was already set in motion and we were on our way home.
We traveled for a brief while, uninterrupted. I didn’t know where exactly we were, I couldn’t keep my eye or mind off the container. I just remember being suddenly alerted by Stanislav. He had suddenly regained full consciousness. The medical officer was holding him down, I didn’t know why at first but then I saw that Stanislav kept trying to sit up. He appeared to be confused - like he awoke from a deep sleep, I didn’t know how long he had been unconscious for. My concept of time was gone to say the least.
Ostap went to assist the medical officer, they were holding Stanislav down to the stretcher. He was panicking and started calling out for us to let him go. He tried to forcefully push Ostap off of him, first with his good arm, and then afterwards with his injured arm. Stanislav pushed until his bandages started to unravel, revealing his open wound for the rest of us. I could see his injured arm bending, twisting, muscles tearing. It didn’t phase him. It didn’t seem like he had any concept of his injuries. The pushing turned into punching, which turned into biting. Ostap had to yank his hand away quickly to stop Stanislav from taking a chunk out of his wrist. This in turn freed Stanislav’s right arm, and he reached across the stretcher for the medical officer. The young officer started to squeal, and yelled for help, “he’s choking me, he’s choking me!” Stanislav had his hand around the poor boy's throat, and was squeezing with ferocious strength. I grabbed Stanislav’s arm with both of my hands and jerked it back into place on the stretcher. I felt his wrist break in my hands. Stanislav hadn’t noticed, he was still trying to pull away. The medical officer then got on top of the stretcher, placing his knee over Stanislavs chest, pinning him down. Stanislav was gasping for air, not really screaming, just gasping and strange animalistic grunting. Ostap started yelling this time, screaming at Stanislav to stop, to please stop. There was blood everywhere. I saw that Stanislav was bleeding again, and I noticed that the tourniquet had come undone. I switched off with Ostap and went around to the other side of the stretcher to reapply it. I think the medical officer noticed at the same time because he promptly ordered the BTR to halt. The Captain wasn’t in the back with us, he was at the front and could only hear what was going on.
He opened the rear door with a mighty fury, unleashing all his built up anger on poor Stanislav. The Captain stood with one foot on his chest, long enough to leave his boot impressions on the front of Stanislav’s blood soaked hazardous material suit. We each then took an arm, and Ostap held Stanislav’s head to the back of the stretcher. His mouth continued to open and close, and he was still trying to bite. The medical officer gave an injection and we re-tightened the tourniquet. We held on for another short while, until the medication kicked in and we felt Stanislav’s grip loosen up.
The Captain then roared in anger, the loudest I have ever heard him, “everybody out! I am calling a helicopter and we are being evacuated!”.
At that point was your mission completely abandoned?
Oh yes, and there was nothing I could do this time. After our fight with Stanislav, morale on the team was very low. Everyone was scared and just wanted to go home, and I didn’t blame them. Our driver, a young boy whom I learned was named Stepan, drove us to a nearby soviet-era gas station. There was a parking lot, big enough for the helicopter and we could take shelter inside of the derelict structure. The Captain didn’t want anyone inside the BTR, he was starting to become superstitious about the artifact. Now that he made it clear that we would be leaving it behind, he strictly ordered nobody to go near it.
There were issues we had with getting an air-evacuation. The Air Force was getting readings of an isolated emission way south of our location and refused to fly over it to come and get us. We were advised to take shelter at our current location and that a team would get to us as soon as they could.
Stanislav was on the floor of the gas station, tied to the stretcher with a rope. The medical officer was ordered to keep a rifle pointed at him until our rescue could arrive. Ostap was instructed to remove all the scientific equipment from the BTR and prepare it for flight. Stepan and I were instructed to take guard positions outside, watching over the BTR and securing our landing zone. I was especially given strict instructions not to go anywhere near The Cue. I think the Captain had come to his senses and I felt that I had lost his trust. I agreed with him, I knew that pushing him further would only result in irrational decision making and I just wanted to get back safely. I thought that maybe once the helicopter arrived, I could see exactly where we were and return another day with a field kit and conduct further testing here. I held hope, but barely.
We held that position for close to four hours, and I made sure to check my watch every thirty minutes to make sure. It was 3am and the Captain was growing obsessive. He would try the radio every fifteen minutes, seeing if the flight team had left the hangar. He was met with the same automated message each time, “Negative, continue to hold your position”. It was clear that we would be holding at that gas station until morning.
I had relieved Stepan of his duties and replaced him with Ostap. Stepan was obviously tired and I felt like Ostap kept better company anyways. The Captain didn’t care, I think his mind was preoccupied with other thoughts. I asked Ostap innocently how long he thought the collection took. He shrugged his shoulders, and provided an estimation of about an hour, maybe less. I then explained what I saw in my log book. Ostap hadn’t noticed until now. We both agreed to not say a word. No one but us appeared to notice, and we had no explanation for the rest of the team. We didn’t want to cause any further concern. Stanislav continued to rest, motionless on his stretcher. Ostap and I debriefed the situation further and decided on what we would write in our reports when we got back to The Institute. We were agreeable on what to put in our notes, as to avoid discrepancies and any unwanted attention. Our conversations then turned elsewhere, and then to nothing at all.
At 4:30am, I awoke to Stepan kicking me in the shoulder. I was sitting on my ass, leaning up against the wall. I didn’t remember falling asleep, or even sitting down. I don’t remember if I even felt tired. My adrenaline had been going non-stop since we first arrived at the department store. Stepan asked me how long I was asleep for, and I couldn’t give him an answer. I was waiting for some reprimand, some sort of punishment. I fell asleep on guard duty, even the most loose-headed recruit knew not to do that. But the punishment never came, Stepan didn’t have time to alert the Captain. He was transfixed on Ostap’s position. This alerted my attention and I looked as well. We both saw at the same time that Ostap wasn’t at his post.
Stepan gave me a brief look, I couldn’t tell if his face resembled anger towards me or fear towards the situation, then he went into the building to alert the Captain. I grabbed my rifle, and shouldered it. I then looked towards the BTR, and my heart stopped beating.
The rear hatch was open, and I saw a faint white light emanating from within. Every survival instinct I had left was screaming for me to just turn around and run away, let the military deal with this, my job is over. But I found myself actually walking towards the opened hatch. One step after the other, rifle down range. I felt so heavy, so tired. I was terrified. The faint moonlight illuminated the path in front of me and the asphalt I walked on glowed with a slight bluish hue. I could barely make out a shape on the asphalt. Rectangular and misshapen, but as I got closer, I saw that it was actually my kevlar vest. It had been tossed out of the hatch and onto the ground outside. I rounded the back of the BTR, staring now into the open hatch, and the source of that faint white light.
I found Ostap. He was on his knees on the floor of the cabin, with his back facing me. His elbows were bent at a 90 degree angle and held inwards. I couldn’t see his hands. I saw that he had partially undone his hazardous material suit, which was now tied sloppily around his waist like a sweatshirt. The lead-lined container was at his feet, closed, but resting on its side. I stared blankly at Ostap for what felt like two minutes, but in reality was only a couple seconds. He wasn’t moving. At first I thought he might have been dead but then I saw his sides expanding and I knew he was breathing. Ostap had not been alerted to my presence and I felt that I had the jump on him. I slowly reached for the container, I had to know. I opened it slightly, revealing a hollow, empty interior. Ostap must have heard me, because when I looked up again we were staring at each other. I still couldn’t see his hands, but I knew, and he knew that I knew. I greeted him as gently as I could, trying to mask my excitement. I asked him what he was doing. He looked at me with a puzzling expression, “I'm doing what you told me to do”. He then turned his shoulders to face me and raised his hands up slightly and I saw what I already knew. Gripped in both of his bare hands was The Cue. I gently put the container on the floor of the cabin and pushed it towards him. I opened my mouth to speak but I could not get a clear word out. I stuttered relentlessly, and questioned Ostap about what I had told him to do. Ostap was catching on and replied to me, “you ordered me to take out the artifact”. I didn’t say anything and we just stared at each other. He repeated again, “you ordered me”. “I did not do such a thing Ostap”, I replied as calmly as I could, “it is not possible, I had fallen asleep”. I thought about lying at first, to tell him that Stepan had relieved me so I could sleep. I was still embarrassed about my neglection, but I thought, what was the point?
Ostap looked down at his hands in puzzling confusion. He tried to reason with me, to justify what he had done. I believed that he had heard something, but it certainly wasn’t from me. I could see that Ostap was starting to panic. He was finally starting to realize the danger that he was in. I tried to calm him, I told him that it was okay, that he just needed to put the artifact back in the container. I only met his blank stare, I could tell that he was thinking, his mind was spinning. I slid the container closer to him, “Ostap, the container”, I told him. He instinctively and quickly pulled back, pulling his hands away from the container and up over his head. I cringed and stepped back instinctually. I could see his hands vibrating, The Cue was changing its density. He needed to stop shaking it, but I didn’t know how to tell him. “Ostap, listen, it’s going to be okay, I believe you, okay? I just need you to put the artifact in the container right now, okay?” I managed to catch him, he looked to me and then to the container. I stepped forwards towards the open hatch, sliding the container closer and rotating the opening towards him. I then retreated back to my position, and gave the same instructions I did before. Ostap slowly leaned forward, now over the open container. He reached for it with his left hand, his right still holding the artifact. I continued to coach him, “Slow Ostap, slow. You can’t rush”.
Ostap was in full panic now and he started hyperventilating. He had his left hand now on the opening. His right hand was moving towards the container. I saw that Stepan was approaching me from my left, followed by Cpt. Lytvyn. The Captain was angry, he stomped towards us, shouting all sorts of profanities. Ostap now had his right hand at the mouth of the opening, he was set to put it in the container. The Captain was closer now and he pushed Stepan to the side and overtook him, he started to yell towards me. Ordering me to get away from the vehicle and back to my post. I tried telling him to stop, to stand back. We almost have it, I yelled. Ostap had heard him also, he was now staring towards the sound of his voice, his mouth was agape and I could see that he was crying. Ostap had now stopped, holding the artifact just above the container. I was inpatient now with Ostap, “Ostap, put the artifact in the container, do it, please”. He wasn’t listening to me anymore. The Captain was coming. The Captain was coming and he was going to doom us all.
In an instant he was standing behind me, and raised his Makarov at Ostap. He commanded, “Son, put that down right now, or I will shoot you!”. Ostap screamed, pulled his hands away from the container, and threw The Cue against the floor.
There was a blinding flash, and that is all I remember.

2024.05.11 18:34 LeroyBigOuss I don't believe I have Schitzophrenia, currently on a Treatment Authority.

So I was diagnosed with Schizophrenia in 2020, I displayed some behaviours that upsetted the community I was living in. Like when I was discovered in someone's back yard cooking up sausages and steaks on their BBQ at 2am in the morning and hitching a ride on the back of a Garbage truck down the road to get back to the place I stayed at.
I understand that these are odd behaviours, but I'm not like that no more! They put me on this Paliperidone Invega injection that's making me feel Munted and unable to feel emotions properly. I don't listen to conversations properly like I used to. I mostly spend my time smoking cigarettes and being in my room and closing my eyes wishing I was asleep or dead.
I'm about to run away from the state of Queensland to New South Wales and be homeless for a while to escape this Treatment Authority and depot injection and start my life over so I can have my life back and be happy!
Over it.

2024.05.10 06:59 IIRISHSOL Starting TRT next week

Starting TRT next week
I'm 27M and I'm considering trt. Currently I'm past the point of drawing blood and speaking to a men's hormones focused doctor (all she does is work in a clinic that handles trt and hgh for men). My levels were at 382 and she wants to give me I think about a 100mg shot once a week of some plant based testosterone for start and says that a good test level for me might be around 800 so we will start with that. Is this normal or safe?
Also I included the paperwork she gave me. She said a more in depth chart will be done 6 weeks from the start of therapy. I pushed it off a week to learn more from you guys and ask a couple friends who are doing it.

2024.05.10 00:20 Aleph_alarmed Heavy and longer periods after stopping birth control.

So I’ve been on birth control for 13 years. I’ve been on the depot injections, implant and various pills. My most recent was the mini pill for 2 years.
I stopped taking the pill in April 2023, to regulate my period in preparations for trying to get pregnant( We haven’t been able to start yet 😭).
I had my first period end of December 2023, it lasted 5 weeks and was very heavy with large clots. I had a 3 week break, then another heavy 4 week period with clots. Then a week and a half break and now my current period started on the 3rd of April 2024, I’m still bleeding today, as heavy as day 1, and the clots are definitely getting bigger.
When I’m in work I’m using super tampons, super night pads and period underwear and still after just 2 hours I leak. I used to use my diva cup but because of the large clots I just spill over in less than an hour. Prior to birth control my periods lasted 4 days, and I hardly bled.
I went to see my doctor but seen the practice nurse instead after the second period, she told me it was normal and just to get my bloods done to check if I was anaemic. Of course I was so I take iron tablets now.
Anyways is this really normal? Anyone else have experience with this? Should I go back to the doctors?

2024.05.09 19:49 CustomCranium PROFESSIONAL WET SPECIMEN GUIDE

Wet specimen guide for professional results, with addendum for mummifying specimens
Tools: alcohol (methanol or ethanol only, 80 % or above, isopropyl is not useable for this purpose), syringes, gloves, scalpels or very sharp knives, hemostats/scissor clamps, buckets and jars
  1. Wash your specimen in cool water and a bit of light soap to remove external dirt
  2. Depending on preference, you can gut and wash again afterwards. If gutting, usually larger pieces, you can stuff with bubble wrap to keep shape, and sew or pin together. This is not necessary for anything under the size of a newborn goat, but recommended for anything larger than a piglet unless you are a pro at injection already. 3.Prepare tools within reach.
  3. If not gutted, take your syringe and fill with alcohol and inject through the bellybutton or anus (to hide punctures) into the body cavity until the specimen looks bloated. If you can inject directly into organs through feel, do that as well, it will sublimate through them into the cavity anyway, which is why you want it to look bloated, to make sure there's enough alcohol in there to preserve all the organs you don't directly hit. Make sure you get up into the diaphragm where the heart and lungs are located. If your syringe needle is not long enough, go through the armpit. If gutted, skip this one step. If it's a snake, inject every inch or so along the body until you see it forming a bubble under the skin. It will not look bloated when you're done soaking, so don't worry about it being distorted forever, it won't.
  4. Inject between the toes into the foodpads, and use the needle to go along the bone to inject further up into the leg. Go through the anus to inject into all the thigh muscles until you see the skin distort slightly with the pressure.
  5. Inject into the brain cavity through the nose or ear, or through the upper palate of the mouth. PLEASE be careful at this step to brace the head with something other than your hand, because the needle may penetrate the skull into your hand.
  6. Once the specimen looks bloated and full, give it a rinse and place into a bucket with the same alcohol for its first soak. It will leach fluids and become cloudy, this is totally normal and you don't have to throw that alcohol away, you can reuse for first soaks until it starts to smell bad. I usually do these in batches so there will be lots of things soaking for a while, usually by size. *Side note: If you're just doing small parts, like feet, small tails, etc, anything smaller than cat legs can do diretly into the alcohol with no injections or other prep besides the initial wash. The large opening from the detachment creates a large enough hole for the alcohol to enter and soak the whole thing. Larger things such as deer legs will also have to be injected every inch or so to penetrate the connective tissue, just treat them like a stiff snake.
Soaking guide by size: Things under fist size - 1 week
Things fist size to halfway up your arm - 2-3 weeks depending on body style, like lizards will soak faster than say, kittens or rabbits, and snakes are usually a 3 week soak unless they are into your larger fatter things like constrictors, in which case use the 4 week mark.
Things as large as your arm or larger also take weight into consideration - piglets usually take 3 to 4 weeks, cats and puppies can take a month, kid goats a month and a half.
Congrats, you have a wet specimen! Now comes second soak. After washing your thing off again with soapy water and rinsing, you can put it in an appropriate jar. Usually you'll have a second soak in which a little bit more dirt and internal soup will come out but that's also completely normal. Wait for a couple weeks to see if this happens. If nothing sloughs off or comes out in your second soak, you can just keep it in that alcohol, it's already fully preserved. If not, you can use the alcohol from the second soak to use as your first soak for the next round of wets, or use it for the injections for the second round. When storing used alcohol, I recommend filtering it throug some cloth to get out most of the larger particles. Do not store wets in direct sunlight, it degrades the color and eventually the specimen itself. You may store it in isopropyl at this point, but it is not necessary. Once it's fully preserved, the change in alcohol will not hurt it, but remember to wash it whenever you put it into a new solution.
Notes on choosing alcohol; I use denatured, it has a bittering agent that makes it unpalateable for living things, so your pets and children won't want to drink it. It's a safety measure i learned to incorporate because I have animals and do educational programs with children, and people have kids at home and sometimes things break. Also the reason i don't choose to use formalin unless specifically asked by a specialty client.
A note about formalin: While a lot of people say you can't preserve things without it, it's scientifically inaccurate. Most museums don't even use or reccomend it because of its dangers and associated difficulties of disposal. The ONLY notable difference in alcohol and formal in preservation qualities is the preservation of cell structure with formalin, making it useful in labratory settings where skin and organ slides are studied under a microscope. Keep in mind that formalin is 90% alcohol and that is what actually preserves the specimen, the formaldehyde added to make it formalin is what works on the cell shape. That is not a concern for oddity collectors and should not be a factor in home use and preservation. Specimens are scientifically recorded from long before formalin was invented and are still viable today, so there's a ton of scientific evidence to show that alcohol preservation, when done right, can absolutely create perfect specimens lasting lifetimes.
Where to get supplies: Alcohol can be found in gallon or quart cans at any hardware store like Lowe's or Home Depot, often marked as "Fuel" for camp stoves. If not, you can easily order it online, in gallons or 5 gallons cans. I get mine from www.zoro.com but i know Amazon and Walmart usually carry it as well. Syringes in larger gauges can be found at feed and/or farm supply stores or ordered online. eBay carries them under veterinary equipment, as well as the scalpels and blades, plus the hemostats.
For mummies made from wets, after following the above steps: Remove your little wet specimen guy, and rinse off with some cool water and a little bit of soap. At this point he's perfectly safe to handle without gloves, but if you don't like the smell of alcohol on your hands, you can use some. Using either blocks carved from styrofoam or cardboard, and sewing pins, you can pose him in whatever position you'd like and pin him in place. Try to use the pins in between the toes or on the side of a limb, You can also use rubber bands if you want, I like to use the tiny hair bands. Depending on the size, you can let them air dry or place in front of a fan, but you don't want to use too much heat because it makes their limbs contract.

2024.05.08 19:40 putzing_thru_life Lupron update

Lupron update
I'm 12 days into my first lupron shot. So far, it's really not greeeaaaattt because it causes this huge spike in your own hormones before it shuts you down. I was aware of this, so I was prepared. But it still sucks. It's like when you're sick with a runny nose and fever and you think "oh my gaaaad this is how I'm going to feel forever"
Here's a link with interesting info about Lupron:
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2666334122001222
"Depot GnRH agonists initially stimulate the HPO axis, which results in a transient hormonal flare. Continued stimulation of GnRH-R consequently leads to their desensitization and profound estradiol suppression."
I have estrogen dominance already, so all this extra estrogen essentially has me sidelined right now. BUT, knowing I have a plan now helps so much with the mindset. There's a light at the end - I just have to make it through another (hopefully) few days. I'm very fortunate that my province covers the injections for six months. I'm on the list for a full hysterectomy, and should hopefully get that done before the end of the year.
I'll keep updating as I go! There's very little info out there for lupron and PMDD. Tons for Endometriosis, and I suppose they're vaguely similar conditions in the sense that they get worse with hormone changes.
Make sure you drink water today 🩵

2024.05.07 22:59 lockedlost They stand and watch me

Take risperidone. They stand there for a full 5 minutes outside my room after I've swallowed these shit pills that I literally don't need. Standing staring at me. Stuck in this fkn psych ward being forcefully drugged. I'm falsely diagnosed as schizophrenic. I don't have schizophrenia but its no use trying to say that. Been trapped in this psych ward since February. Been here 5 times now. I hate these bastard staff. They mope about all day, some pace around the hallways over and over. I think they are the ones that need sectioning. They got attitude problems as well and talk to you like shit.
I think American wards sound worse because atleast I get to use a phone and they have Internet. Apart from that it's terrible. No one can help or anything I'm on my own here just venting once again. Sorry for the language I'm just beyond sick of being stuck here. I literally don't need these meds. I hate even referring to them as meds, it's just poison to the brain.
My only question is how bad is risperidone? I'm displaying zero symptoms of psychosis except before I was admitted. I've been totally normal the entire time so I literally don't need it, it can only make me worse meanwhile I have to act like it's helping. I got forcibly injected when I was just alone in my room doing nothing. They said I was catatonic. That was a few times back and it screwed me up big time and there are talks I might be put on depot injection now and or given clozapine which can literally kill me.

2024.05.07 13:23 julesxjane111 Low estrogen levels after 2 years. Need advice !!

I started hrt at 16, I’ve switched to estrogen patches a few months ago but before that I was on estrogel (6 pumps a day) and my highest estrogen reading was 155 pmol/l. I changed to patches hoping it would significantly increase my e levels but I just got my results back and they are 145 pmol/l. I am on Lupron depot as a hormone blocker, so my testosterone levels aren’t the issue as they are low enough (1.39 nmol/l). I’m unsure what to do because I don’t have access to injections in my country and I’ve been on the maximum dosage of estrogel (and patches I think).

2024.05.07 05:26 Carnivorousplants_NW IHI 20jx repair info, how to and other tips

These are part numbers and some how to information for a IHI 20jx mini excavator. The information will be updated and added as I go along. The information may not apply to your machine because of how IHI used whatever parts they could source at the time.
I’ve been told this excavator was made between 1970-75 due to the fact it has both metric and standard measurement. One example out of a few is that one hydraulic cylinder on this machine is metric while the rest are standard. That is the more obvious example, since most of the parts are metric. This is also a reason why a part number that I listed might not fit yours. I wrote down the part numbers that shouldn’t be different from other serial numbers, parts that aren’t specifically for my machine.
The air filter inlet hose was found below the engine. I didn’t like how that is in the dirtiest place, so I disconnected the hose. Originally, the hose runs into the battery compartment, out the back of it, then down under the engine where it sucks in dirt that settles there. I may eventually redirect it out along the rollover cage so it’s sucking in clean air.
I use a deep cycle battery.
Since the wiring system was old and kept shorting out, a mechanic rewired it into a simple system. It’s got a toggle which connects the battery to the glow plug button and a starter button. Toggle switch also turns on the fuel pump. So, startup is as follows: flip on toggle>press glow plug button for 4-5 seconds>press starter button. Once it’s running it doesn’t need the toggle to be on, which means fuel pump design need to be on. To turn off there’s a T handle he installed to the governor, located right next to the toggle and buttons.
Replacing the hydraulic cylinder seals is easy, you just need a very large pipe wrench to unscrew the cylinder. Make sure you got a wide mouth bucket under the cylinder while taking out the chrome rods, otherwise you’ll end up with quite a bit of hydraulic oil on the ground. Make sure to check and add more fluid to the tank, up to the center dot on the tank’s window. There is a hydraulic fluid filter, located inside the radiator compartment next to the fluid and fuel tank. Hydraulic fluid should be replaced every 1000 hours or so. There’s a giant bolt underneath the tank to drain it. It holds about 8 gallons so plan accordingly.
There’s a valve under the diesel tank, open it occasionally for a few seconds to drain the water that settles to the bottom of the tank.
I replace the final drive gear oil every 6 months, immediately after operation. That way the fluid is warm, and most of it drains out. I’d much rather replace the oil more than needed, than not enough. Oil costs as much as water compared to the cost of a final drive. There are 3 flat head socket bolts on the outside of the final drive. Line them up vertically. Scrub the dirt off it, and the track around the drive. Remove the bottom bolt, then the top. Drain completely. Replace bottom bolt, then remove center bolt. The center bolt is basically an overflow hole. Fill into the top hole until oil comes out the center. Replace bolts, just tighten enough. Spin the final drive for a minute, then check oil levels. Add more oil if needed, until oil comes out the center. There are places inside that the oil doesn’t seem to get to until you spin the drive.
For the idler bearing replacement, I packed them and the inside space with corn head grease. I honestly don’t know if there’s supposed to be a heavy oil inside, but I guess corn head grease is a good compromise. There’s a socket head screw on one side of the wheel, right above the shaft. That screw will give you access to the inside of the wheel, so you can fill with heavy oil or grease if it leaks. You should replace the bearings and seals if it leaks, otherwise the bearing will eventually disintegrate and potentially damage the shaft. If the shaft is damaged there is no replacement unless you buy a whole new idler, or hire a machine shop to mill a shaft.
If the tracks don’t stay tight, check the idler grease cylinder seals. Loosen the big bolt head that surrounds the grease nipple to loosen the tracks more, pull off the track, and pull out the idler. Grab the rod on the idler and yank it out. Inspect the 3 seals, and replace if damaged or flattened. To prevent possible damage in the future, use a manual grease gun and only pump until tight. Forcing more grease in might blow the seal out. Use normal machine grease, nothing special. Seal order is as follows from outside in: Wiper seal, backing, o-ring. The backing is a thin piece of rubber, made to keep the o-ring from slipping out under pressure.
For removing the tracks and putting them on, I use a sturdy concrete breaker bar to pry the track on and off. Naturally, lift up that side with the arm about a foot and a half. Put the track on the idler first. Keep the sprocket on the inside of the track, it’s a whole lot easier. Put the bar under the track onto a sprocket tooth, then slowly push the forward/backward control lever backwards while lifting up as hard as you can on the bar. If all goes well the sprocket should pop into the rails and the bar comes out the bottom. If not, try again and if the track seems tight make sure the recoil spring cylinder is completely empty of grease.
Replace the fuel injector is a bit challenging. For some reason they don’t come out easily. Clamp a vice grip to the fuel port and keep trying to wiggle it out. Use a flathead screwdriver along the edge to pry it up. Try not to damage the thin metal spacer gasket under it. The spacer is for the timing.
The engine serial number is located right next to the injector pump closest to the fan. The engine specs is located on top of the engine closest to the fan.
Here are the part numbers that I have replaced. Remember, these numbers are specific to my machine, and may not apply to yours. I learned that when they sent roller bearings that don’t fit this machine but fit others that are the same model, and so they asked for the excavator serial number.
Excavator serial #: BH001132 Track sprocket: IM23160 Roller bearing: Roller seal: 076173120 Idler bearing: 063062060 Idler seal: 076173012 Idler plug: 071020101
Engine: Isuzu 3LA1 Spec: PA-04 Serial number: 419800 Hydraulic filter: 1663 Hydraulic fluid: iso 46 Engine oil: Delo 400 sae 15w-40 Oil filter: S6607 Fuel filter: Air filter: 6270 Belt: 8971760670 Injection pump: 897034591
Bolts: The bolts below are at least grade 8. Recoil spring bolts: M12-1.75x36 Bolts that attach idler to recoil spring: M10-1.5x30 Sprocket and final drive bolts: M10-1.5x25
Recoil cylinder o-rings: 1.125 x 1.375 x 0.139 Recoil cylinder backing washer: Recoil cylinder wiper:
Where to buy parts? Recoil cylinder seals and sprocket: Exsolid Roller bearing & seals, hydraulic cylinder seals, other parts: Conequip parts Final drives: wherever is cheaper. I can not find internal parts for them, so you’ll probably have to buy an entire unit. Bolts: Bolt Depot
I hope this information helps you, feel free to ask questions. - [ ]

2024.05.05 04:13 everythingcrow Accessing HRT on a Canadian Working Visa?

I am an Australian citizen planning on working in Canada for the ski season!
I was wondering if I could take my Primoteston Depot prescription medication into Canada? It’s a box with 3 pre-filled syringes of 1mL. It contains 250mg of testosterone enantate, 342mg of benzyl benzoate, and 440.4mg of castor oil per syringe. I also use 23G (0.6mm x 32mm) needle tips that I get separately as I find them more comfortable for intramuscular injections. I'm planning on staying for 3-3.5 months and will require 5 shots during that time.
My main questions are:
If I can bring it in, how much am I allowed to bring?
Would I need a Canadian prescription to get it refilled if I'm unable to bring enough for my stay?
Would my transgender status impact my ability to access this medication promptly through Canadian GPs as a non-Canadian citizen?

2024.05.03 16:05 galacticsnack Thought echo

Hi, thanks for reading.
I have a symptom of thought echo and I'm wondering if it will ever go away. I have been well and stable for the last 3 years and it has been getting better but I'm worried I'm stuck like this, or if it indicates that I might be schizophrenic instead of bipolar.
If there's a better sub to post this in please let me know.
I had repeated and worsening psychotic experiences after being forcibly injected with olanzapine at the end of 2013 which continued despite being made to take different medications such as epilem, lithium, lamictal, seriquel, risperidone, aripriprizole, none of which helped. I did nearly recover in 2018 and was just on lamictal with only minor thought echo symptom which I'll describe more further down, but after the death of my little brother it triggered it all over again.
At first when I started to hear, see and feel things that weren't there I was pretty sure it was my mind playing tricks on me and put it down to the medication I was forced on, because it had never happened before. It's a long story of how I ended up medicated against my will in the first place but it was not because I was experiencing psychotic symptoms.
As the psychotic episodes worsened and continued for over 7 years it wore down my sense of reason and I had lost insight and really was unable to be sure of reality or function in a normal way.
Since getting put on the paliperidone injection in 2021 it was like a switch in my mind flipped and I could see I had been delusional and hallucinating, and I have not been psychotic from then on. I have no idea why that drug worked and none of the others did.
The only thing is now I am left with a thought echo, I know it's my mind but it's like a zombie echo of my thoughts sometimes coherent sometimes not. It seems to need a background noise of water, traffic, hum of fridge or bathroom fan, storms, some types of music, etc. Sometimes I can tell it's an echo of what I was just thinking, sometimes it seems to be doing its complete own thing, sometimes ranting or screaming but quietly and can barely make it out.
I recognise it as my own thoughts, and its quite mild and easy to block out most of the time so it doesn't really disturb my life. When I was psychotic I would always be trying to turn off the source of the sound and it would constantly disturb and upset me and make life impossible, and of course it was seeming external to my mind whereas that's not the case any more for which i am so thankful.
I never told the doctors in the public health system about hearing, feeling and seeing things that weren't there because I was terrified of the public mental health system due to my mother's experiences during my childhood (she's bipolar) and always had been taken there against my will to begin with. I was diagnosed bipolar, then schizoaffective, and then back to just bipolar again, that's my current diagnosis along with PTSD.
So my question is, is this kind of normal for someone who's had psychosis to experience and will it ever go away or am I stuck like this?
I'd also like to ask if antipsychotic medication itself can cause psychosis. I was medicated for all of those 7 something years and it seems to have done the opposite of what it was meant to do.
And also, is this more indicative of schizophrenia over bipolar, I am worried I've been misdiagnosed because I never really cooperated with the doctors treating me against my will.
My information - 35 yr old female 52.8kg from australia, currently taking 150mg lamictal and weaning off 100 mg of Paliperidone monthly depot over a 9 month period, with the last dose being 75 mg and the next 3 to be 50mg

2024.05.02 14:52 unsnailed The attitude towards depo in this sub needs to chang

*Change - not sure why it got cut off there.
The depo hate, and the amount of misinformation being spread, in this sub is really starting to bother me. I frequently see people getting shamed for using depo or for sharing up-to-date information about depo. This isn't okay and it needs to stop.
The FDA guidelines about depo and bone density are not up to date - they haven't been updated for decades. They are based on outdated evidence that has since been surpassed by more recent, high-quality evidence. The rest of the world has updated its guidelines based on the evidence, but the US lags behind. For example, here in the UK, there is no arbitrary limit placed on how long you use depo, unless you are an adolescent. This is in line with the FRSH guidelines.
The current evidence about depo and bone density suggests that:
And most importantly, it is not linked to an increased risk of fractures or osteoporosis.
It's honestly a little suspicious to me that the outdated FDA guidelines are pushed above all else in this sub, just because they're American. But that's another can of worms. But the fact that such a huge body of evidence is ignored and discarded on this sub is really worrying to me - evidence and information is crucial to informed consent.
I am fully aware most people have good intentions, and may simply be unaware of the recent evidence. But it is not okay to knowingly spread misinformation about depo, convince people to stop using depo, shame people for using depo, etc etc...
The attitudes towards depo in this sub needs to change in line on recent evidence. The current rampant misformation about it is a huge disservice to women.
The right birth control for someone is the one that works for them. No one else should get an input. If you don't want to use depo because of concerns over bone density, that's okay! But it's not okay to spread misinformation or shame others for using it.

2024.04.30 13:48 MrMyshiro What is the best way to win a tribunal

Hi, I am not supported by my doctor or family regarding my decision to come off of medication.

I am from the UK, diagnosed with psychosis for 5 years on medication and recently on depot injections to my arm but I cant take it my body and mind is telling me I need to find a way to stop this before i die. I have too many side effects; I have low mood, tiredness throughout the day, traumatising nightmares daily, weakness. I have another tribunal coming up soon, do you have any advice to be accepted so I come off of CTO?

Thanks.

Ryo Saeba

(Alternate Header Image 1 2)
"You pulled off a shrewd plan, I applaud you for that. But you made one mistake. You showed me the tears of a woman. And now you have to pay the price for it."
Anyone who has spent considerable time in Tokyo, or Japan as a whole for that matter, may have heard rumors about the blackboard in Shinjuku station. They say that if you have a problem and can't go to the police, all you have to do is write a note with the letters XYZ at the end and wait for the mysterious City Hunter to come and find you. However, pretty much anyone that's done this will tell you that the City Hunter isn't exactly the man you might expect.
At the incredibly young age of three years old, Ryo Saeba was traveling with his parents when their plane crashed in a country in Central America that was in the middle of a civil war. Being the sole survivor, Ryo wandered the jungle for days until he stumbled upon a village of guerilla fighters that were battling their country's government. The guerillas would only accept warriors that could fight with them, so Ryo joined their ranks in order to survive. They taught him everything they knew about fighting, weapons, and warfare until Ryo grew to be one of the most dangerous men on the battlefield. However, the government forces eventually overwhelmed them, chasing the guerillas out of the country. Now an adult, Ryo made his way to the United States and opted to become a sweeper, a mercenary/bounty hunteprivate detective that performs off the books jobs to clean up the filthy criminal underworld. Partnering with Mick Angel, another sweeper and one of his best friends, Ryo formed the team known as City Hunter.
At some point, Ryo left the US and returned to Japan, the country of his birth, where he kept the City Hunter name for himself and continued doing sweeper work with a new partner, ex-detective Hideyuki Makimura. Ryo's reputation spread rapidly, becoming known as one of the most dangerous men in the criminal underworld. So what's the problem? Well, he does have one weakness: Beautiful women. Despite his upbringing, Ryo is a goofy pervert and womanizer that would only accept jobs from the prettiest women around if he had his way. For awhile, he had Makimura to keep him in check, but his partner would meet a tragic end after refusing a job from a powerful drug syndicate, giving Ryo the dying request of looking after his little sister Kaori. Initially planning to help Kaori get out of the city, Ryo was surprised to find that Kaori wanted to take her brother's place as Ryo's assistant/partner and continue the work he thought was so important. Together, they became the newest iteration of City Hunter, sweeping the streets of Japan of evil and assisting any beautiful women that requested their services.
While his methods may be questionable, rest assured that the City Hunter always sees a job through no matter what criminal organizations, serial killers, or assassins stand in his way.

2024.04.26 15:43 rosa-rosa-rosa99 Finding Affordable Lupron (Hormone Blocker)

Hello all,
So my endo recently prescribed me the hormone blocker Lupron (injectable Lupron Depot 3.75mg) for treating my PMDD. I'm very hopeful about trying it, but the problem is that here in the U.S. it's very expensive (around $2000 a month). I have United Health Care, but they are refusing to cover it because they claim it's a "specialty medication" (even after my doc sent in a prior authorization and petitioned the insurance company's rejection). I qualified for a coupon from the pharmaceutical manufacturer, but that only covers $500 off, so it's still $1500/month.
So my question is twofold:
  1. Has anyone had any luck getting their health insurance to cover Lupron? Would love to hear what people have tried, if so.
  2. Has anyone had good experiences buying Lupron from mail-order overseas pharmacies where the drug is much cheaper? I know there's a lot of scam ones out there, so I'm trying to research super thoroughly.
Thanks so much!

2024.04.20 19:04 Future-Respect-5064 Question about TRT prescribed Testoviron Depot

Hello I am 32M, today I received my blood work and my total testosterone level is around 276 ng/dl. It was morning test and my previous test result 4 years back was around 780 ng/dl
I consulted my family physician who prescribed Testoviron depot 100
I use to vape, binge drink alcohol and gained 20lbs in last 3 years. I have quit everything and started working out now
My question is will taking this injection stop my body from producing testosterone or do any permanent harm to my fertility? I want to work on naturally boosting my test levels I am scared that if I take this injection I will have to take it forever
Please suggest
