I have no idea where to start. It seems as if bad luck and misery followed me around like a toddler throughout my life. I, 53 female, lost both my parents at a young age. I had a stepmother from hell and I was SAed by two family members. I was adopted by my maternal grandparents. My grandfather was very militaristic with my upbringing. Corporal punishment was a regular occurrance. I grew up afraid of male adults in authority positions. I was constantly compared with my sister who was academically brighter than me. I was more interested in creativity and design.
Fast forward many years, in 1999 I married the love of my life, John (not real name). I fell pregnant in early 2000 soon after our wedding. While pregnant, I lost a good friend who was one of my bridesmaids. She was struck by lightning. Soon after that my maternal grandmother passed away. After giving birth I fell into a deep state of depression. The only thing that kept me going was my new baby girl and John. He was my rock throughout this period in my life.
Three years into our marriage my John came to me with a suggestion to spice up our marriage. I didn't know what to make of this. He wanted us to have a threesome with a friend of his. I told him he must be crazy. He would leave the subject only to bring it up again on a later stage. This happened a few times and I eventually caved. I know this makes me seem weak. I felt like a loser afterwards.
In 2004, I lost yet another good friend in a motor vehicle accident. It happened while we were travelling together. John and I saw it happen in the rear view mirror. It was a terrible shock and I had to call her loved ones with the awful news. I still get panic attacks when passing an accident scene.
In 2005 we had our second daughter four years after the first one. I was happy and content with my life. Then happened the thing I promised myself would never happen to my kids. My oldest daughter was SAed at the age of four. I went feral with rage. How could this happen to my girl? Why did nothing happen to the 14 year old pervert? I went for therapy, because I wanted the scumbag unalived.
Life was steadily improving for a while. In 2007, John started a long distance affair with a woman abroad. I only found out, because he left his computer unattended for a brief moment. The words "I love you" caught my eye, and I scanned over the words written to an unfamiliar woman. I felt crushed and blamed myself. I told myself that it was because I wasn't intimate with him often enough. That my depression must be getting unbearable for him. I confronted him with what I saw and he was very apologetic about everything. He promised me he would break it off with the woman. He sounded so sincere and I forgave him.
A few weeks later John was in the shower and a notification popped up on his phone. It was a nude pic of the woman. I felt so betrayed and lost. That day I decided to pack up everything in the house that in any way resembled me and the kids. All our clothes, all the family pictures on the walls, everything was gone. I left him a note with a permanent marker on his wooden desk. Telling him that he doesn't have to hide his affair any more. I fetched the kids from school and went to my sister's place in another town a few hours away. John tried calling me a few times but I never answered. After a few calls from him I sent him a message saying that we are safe and to stop calling.
I felt so lost, and didn't even know what I should do with the whole mess that our marriage was in. I knew that I still loved him and the kids love him dearly. I didn't have the strength to go through a divorce process. Where am I going to live with the kids? How much is a divorce going to cost? What is going to happen? It was all to much for me to handle. John then begged me to go for marriage counselling with him. We went and we talked. We realised that we still loved each other very much. I held him while he cried about breaking up the affair. Yes, I know. I'm pathetic.
Life was back to normal for a while. In January 2010 we went to the coast on holiday. While we were on the beach my oldest daughter and one of her cousins decided to climb into a tree. We still laughed and John took pictures of them in the tree. Then the unthinkable happened. We only heard a deafening scream and saw my little girl come running towards us. A small trickle of blood was running down her leg. John picked her up and we ran to the life guard station. I wanted to see how badly she was hurt and was shocked to my core. I couldn't recognise anything between her little legs. An ambulance was called and she was taken to the nearest hospital. After four hours of surgery, the surgeon told us that she was extremely lucky. The tree stump she fell into missed her major arteries by millimetres and it only scraped the side of her little womb, no intestines were pierced or damaged. They had to perform a laparotomy to get rid of bark and twigs between the intestines in her stomach cavity. She had colostomy surgery done and had a colostomy bag. She was in ICU for four days and in hospital for a total of 8 days.
We went back to our hometown. We started searching for a colorectal surgeon to repair the sphincter muscle and reverse the colostomy surgery. The whole process took about six months. Between numerous surgeries and hospital stays, my attention wasn't with my job. I received a written warning about my work attendance. That was when I decided to resign. I received a decent pension payout and started a BnB. I also started designing and making dance outfits for school plays.
Our lives were getting back to normal. I was getting therapy for my depression and started feeling a lot more confident.
Then, in the beginning of 2013 John wanted us to spice up our marriage, again. I told him, no, I don't want this. He kept on prodding me and making suggestions. I only recently recognised it as gasligting. After a few weeks, I caved... again. This was the start of a ugly, terrible and very scary relationship with a diagnosed narcissistic monster. He was extremely friendly and had a very poisonous charm. John was smitten with him. I started seeing a side of John I've never seen before. He became obsessed with this man and I didn't know what to think. It's then that John told me he was bisexual. He knew he liked both male and female people from the age of eleven. I knew that his whole family was homophobic and they will not accept him at all. A toxic triangle relationship started with the narcissist, "Scar" (not real name).
It was a sickening rollercoaster ride of ups and downs with Scar. He was playing mental games with us. It almost tore our family apart. Scar would tell John that I need to find a proper job and stop living off John's money. Scar would show up unannounced and expect us to drop everything to give him all our attention. We didn't realize how we were dragged down by him. John would go cycling with Scar and do all sorts of physical activities. In the winter of 2014 John was getting very ill with pneumonia. Scar asked John to help him with something that required a lot of physical excursion. John, even though he was very ill, didn't say no to Scar. John was diagnosed with dilated cardio myhopathy soon after. He was so weak, I was terrified that he wasn't going to survive. John was treated, but he would have to take heart medication for the rest of his life. Scar didn't care at all. He was practically living off John's money. Scar never worked since we met him. He would drop off his kids and go out, expecting us to babysit them.
In December 2014, my sister and her daughters came to stay over for a night on their way home. She caught Scar with his phone taking pictures of the girls in the bathroom. I was horrified. I went off on him and chased him of our property. But the damage was done. The welfare department was called to investigate us. The children's unit of the police service came to take statements. My sister wanted me to leave John for good. I was considering the option of leaving him, but I had nowhere to go. My BnB is on John's property, I don't have my own transport and the fear of being on my own, was terrifying. I wasn't even sure if the girls are going to be with me. So, I caved and I stayed. Yes, I know, I'm such a huge coward.
Scar didn't come round our place anymore and he was charged with child pornography. All his electronic equipment was seized, but nothing was found on any of the devices.
This is where everything went south. John's mother decided to spread a rumour about Scar sending indecent pictures to my children. I asked my girls about this and they didn't know what she was talking about. She had never liked me and was mad with jealousy about my and John's relationship. She would do anything to discredit me. My laptop was confiscated and searched. I ended up in court, because there was pictures of nude men on my laptop. John's nude men pictures. I was held accountable, because the laptop belonged to me. I was found guilty on the charge of negligence in protecting children from pornography. I was on so many anti-anxiety medication that I had no clue what was happening. All I knew was that I now had a criminal record.

I feel like i need to give a large amount of backstory here. I am not suicidal at this present moment however i have suffered from depression for over twenty years and the last nine years have been particularly hard. During this time though I have discovered multiple ways to pull myself out of this and they are the usual tricks; exercise, keeping brain stimulated good diet etc etc etc but what i am facing and what i believe my depression to be due to is getting horrendous and i am frequently having people making jokes about how i should kill myself and attempting to push me towards it.
Im being harrassed, abused and stalked on a daily basis, seemingly by police, military "intelligence", freemasons and various other branches of government. Not only have I had this confirmed by people in the military, but i've confronted main people involved in this and they've apologised and broken down or have given me what they know.
I've issued 9 complaints, split between my local police, my local council and the home secratary (who apparently would have had to have signed off on the types of harrassment and surveillance that they use) and had zero response. Not only do i get 0 responses, when speaking to three officers face to face (the police were called on me by an unknown person posting a video online about this) they told me there was no record of any of my complaints. I spoke to a organisation in my home town (nottingham) regarding this and they knew all to well of the types of harrassment that i was describing but told me that they are/were unable to assist with complaints regarding law enforcement etc and that i would have to hire a solicitor. i am broke. I am broke because near enough every job i've gone into since leaving the catering industry and a few before are seemingly filled with people who know exactly who i am and make a bee line for me straight off the bat, by manipulating the thoughts and opinions of people around me and doing nothing but try to hold me down and ridicule me.
It is crazy to start stating the amount of abuse and harrassment i face. Not only is the amount of abuse i face the issue, but the reason. It seems to be to do with a fire started in 1976 at st wilfrids church in wilford, nottingham (13 years before i was born) and seems to stretch all the way to the monarchy. If you think this sounds far fetched, the military, police and tax office all come under "his majesties(HM)" etc etc, meaning regardless us stating that we're controlled by government, the monarchy still runs said branches and the church... I was mutilated as a child (i knew this from about 12-14 years old and around three years ago one of the heads of the midwifry department in the hospital i was born in was arrested for having a part in over 1500 deaths and mutiliations) The types of abuse i face are vast; Car registration plates with messages from officers/undercover officers, the false conversations that are had around me constantly, the false people who get involved in my life merely to act as antagonists, i am hacked and surveilled constantly and i am let know that people watch my diary entries that i record onto my pc, at least my last two flats are repeatedly broken into, i am watched everywhere i go and seemingly inside my own flat... It seems as though every name i see on forums or content posts are a thinly veiled allegorical insult towards me...it used to be comments that were thinly veiled insults, however i would reply with some sort of allegorical insult so now it seems to be the names of posters on innocuous posts. This is the same as they used to insult me directly, however i've always been a pretty direct person so now they use allegory and groups of people because they seem to need to tell people i don't stand up for myself which i do the majority of the time, or things such as the reg plates with vehicles usually driven by the elderly or women with kids because if i confront these people it's going to make me look worse...I have actually confronted multiple people, and they give some rushed vague answer as to why they have an obvious insult towards me on their registration plate. I have also been let know twice, by people that work for the government that i have no proof and i'll be able to prove nothing. The last guy was an apparent councilor, who smiling extremely brightly said " it must be really frustrating that you have no proof". speculate all you want on my mental health but that is either a fucking wank councillor or this is another case of them attempting to wind me up. Oh and i was told by a psychiatrist that they were hoping i was going to see this as satirical...I was beaten unconscious while handcuffed one night by three riot vans full of police officers, who in the morning said it was because i matched the description of someone that was trying to break into a vehicle in a hotel car park close to where they arrested me. I don't drive and I was wearing a different coloured hoodie than the color of the hoodie they described in the morning and from what i remember, the police officer was sat on my back screaming "we know you've got something on you"...they mentioned nothing about any vehicle. I was then knocked unconscious and awoke in the morning. This is apparently what i'm supposed to find satirical. Said psychiatrist prescribed me mirtazerpine... split the letters up - mi - (r) tazer - pine...This is more of what they do because to me that equals "military intelligence tazer of the pineal gland" and it for sure made me feel brain dead and devoid of any energy therefore acting as a complete negative, so i stopped taking it after the first round. IT isa similar technique that they use with the naming of alot of drugs - co-caine...All of these organisations are based in religions and in the bible it was caine that killed able...caine killed ability...co...covert operative. weed, which we used to call theshit that grew in our gardens that strangled all the other plants... I believe that i am frequently drugged, set up to appear as shit that i'm not and the last few properties i've lived in have been repeatedly broken into. I actually fully believe that on at least three occasions they have broken into my flat/s to fuck with my cats - the reason being that i was warned that they had done this and over the next couple of days they near enough erupted in fleas and worms. They are house kittens and at the time they were around two months old. When i saw what i perceived to be a warning that they had fucked with my cats, it was another occasion where i thought, "if this comes true then this is another case of indisputable proof in my head".
I am aware, and have told people in the past that alot of this looks ridiculous. I am fully aware that people like this usually like to make their targets seem as untrustworthy/insane as possible, creating a vast amount of smoke and mirrors, such as telling me there doing this "to see how far they can push a decent man before he breaks" or that this is to do with a police officer who arrested me when i was seventeen; They arrested me for taking photos of two guys doing graffiti in an abandoned warehouse...in the interview, i told him he was talking to me like a twat and repeatedly insulted him...due to him being an overly aggressive twat that had arrested someone...for taking pictures....of two people spray painting a wall in a warehouse where we had had a party the week before, hosted by whoever the fuck. He told me they were charging me with burglary, criminal damage and breaking and entering...for taking...photos....in a warehouse that was utterly and completely trashed and had one of its ceilings caved in, was covered in graffiti and had the majority of its windows smashed in...did they think i was going to say "i'm ever so sorry". I'm not and i wont be doing, and he's still a petty piece of shit that should have been charged with wasting police time. They are also trying to make out its to do with this girl i went to school with whose father and mother are both in education and ive seen her dad leaving the freemason building which is about a five minute walk from where i live, covered in shit loads of medals and like, mr t esque chains....i was never into her...i dont think that since we left school, she would say she's been at all into me, but i dont know how it was from her side but ive had nothing but people we went to school with telling me that they think we're going to end up together, over and over and over a fucking gain. I know that she had created a fb page back back in the day, we're talking 2010 (when i discovered it) or possibly prior where she'd invited a bunch of people i know to keep tabs on me and tell her my whereabouts because i used to not respond to her messages. wtf. Oh also one of my mums best friends told me that she was trying to have me sectioned...her ex boyfriend was also sectioned. This would make alot moresense if we'd ever been together...we havent been. we hung out when we were kids and occasionally in our mid twenties. IT would be harsh to say she is nothing to me but like...i really didnt hang out with anyone from school once i left so i dont know how else to put it...There was also another website called "spicy ketchup" that was a tonne of photos of me in compromising positions (drunk etc) that was basically reeling off however much this person hated me and talking about how i couldn't "wax lyrical" and basically a tonne of insults that you could sling at any other human being. This is what i'm talking about when i'm saying that they are trying to make out it's multiple reasons but there are merely multiple reasons because they're trying to mask what it actually is. Oh and i forgot they've been trying to get me to join them for years, telling me on a ridiculous amount of occasions that i'm passing multiple tests oh and they've tried to get me to target my friends child. they told me that they stop killing me when i start killing, (killing not meaning literal murder but killing someones currently personality, which they seem to believe is a mere imprint of modern day society which conflicts with the "free" masons idea of what they think people should be...so essentially they want me to bully an eighteen year old...)i declined this bullshit offer of taking out my own torture and punching down and its obviously caused this to ramp up massively.
I could talk, for days if not weeks about everything that goes on because its about 20 shots each day. To be honest, what pisses them off them most seems to be that i keep doing what im doing and time and time again just ridicule them when they seem to think im done in. It's such a strange situation. On the one hand i faze alot of it out because i have alot of different interests, i keep myself active and i really dont give a shit about some fair weather friends/fed rat kids that wanted to do mummy and daddy proud. On the other hand i'm surrounded. at all times. stalked. harrassed. filmed. set up. physically assaulted. tortured. poisoned/drugged. Oh and more recently, since ive been complaining to the police over and over and over again and began posting youtube videos regarding what was going on, they now seem to be threatening me by telling me that they're going to fuck me if i take this to the media. I imagine that it going to be with false accusations. And why would i give a fuck? ive done nothing...therefore all they'll be able to do is slander me and why would i give a fuck about that.
There's tonnes, upon tonnes of shit ive missed out. Oh yeah this other guy i went to school with once askled me a question that i thought was strange..."would i rather have a hot woman take a dump on my chest but we were in love and together or...i forget the other question because that was the answer i chose. around twelve yearsafter this i came back from doing some travelling in europe and this couple near enoughscreamed at me "yeah well you chose for her to take a shit on your heart"...no somebody asked me a question that i thought was some sort of shit joke...no pun intended.
I am 34 and i can remember thinking something was not right when i was seven. I had a maths teacher when i was fourteen who held me back after class and told me that she had no idea what was going on but that i was intentionally being held back (i was put in the bottom group for nearly everything and my test results were constantly above average and apparently specifically for maths, based on these exams we had to do called CATS). right after this and i mean right after this, she was moved into a different class and was no longer our teacher. within a couple of months she was sacked. I have her name and i also queried all of this with my school, being one of many companies i submitted a sar (subject access request) to. They told me they had no records on me at all, much the same as the two security companies said. In my early teens, there was this guy who used to fuck with me, who i later found out was a cocaine dealer, who was the boyfriend of my mums friend. He's maybe forty-ish years older than me. He has much like the fed, shown up again and again in my life as someone seemingly fucking with me. i found out a few years ago his dad was a priest, which again, was just another "oh yeah well that makes sense" moment.
I am fully aware that i seem insane, but these people seem to be intent on deleting me from history and making it so that it even fucking looks like i dont exist. Again, this seems to be shit to do with some beef over a fucking church gazebo and for them most part, i want to know what the fuck to do. I have been speaking to mental health professionals for sixteen years and they never deem me to have any serious mental health issues, except for the guy that came with the police who wrote down that i had psychosis, which was not mentioned at all in the conversation and i believe along with the piss take medication he prescribed me and letting me know that i was going to find this funny, just thought he'd record that i was insane to further discredit me. I have mentioned this to multiple police officers and i'm on my tenth fucking complaint and i have a feeling theyre going to tell me that they have no information on me other than a couple of drunk and disorderly arrests pre nine years ago and the other two i mentioned and i have a feeling that intelligence will tell me that they can't give me any information.
Like...what do i do..? I'm an average person...i'm bright in some areas and dim in others...i'm happy sometimes i'm miserable others...im hardworking for half the time and im lazy other times...i'm creative-ish but im not a fucking slash...again no pun intended. icant see any reason that im being fucked with other than old men being stick in the mud, rapey pedo twats that are trying to keep some shit you learnatseven years old about code breaking, metaphor and simile "secret squirrel"...its not secret...it never has been, and if im as bang average or thick as you're making out i am then i probably shouldnt be deciphering everything...Again, wtf do i do about this?
p.s. ive rushed this. it doesnt seem like i have due to how long it is but this has been my whole fucking life full of being harrassed and bullied by these people.

Oscar Wilson has been Night City’s greatest detective since 2010 but in 2014 he will attempt to solve a case that will break him. As a new serial killer emerges he will need to employ his strengths as a wolf.
‘Detective Wilson you will run out of time before you catch me!’ Is written on the museum wall in the victims blood. John Strath the museum’s night janitor was brutally murdered by a carnivore.
“Funny you’d think the domestication of feral animals would’ve prevented every hunting incident.” Officer Morales says to Oscar.
“I don’t see any bites.”
“Think he did it for fun?”
“Every serial killer does.”
“Yeah I guess. Anyways Johnson reported a missing camera come help me find it.”
“In a moment.”
“Oscar I know he’s threatened your family but you worry too much. It’s not like he’s going to do it immediately. Come on. It’ll keep your mind off of it.”
Oscar continues to stand over the body as morales walks away. Eventually he turns around and follows.
The two sit in front of the security camera screens rewinding the footage to when the camera was taken. They watch as the camera is placed down. They pay close attention. The security footage glitches for a second. When it stops, the camera is gone.
“What the fuck?”
“Yeah. What the fuck?”
“Who’s nearby. Maybe they snatched it.”
“That quick?”
“I think that’s Clawson. Ask him.”
Oscar leaves the room. He approaches a cheetah officer hanging outside waiting at the window.
“Clawson!”
“Oscar! Hey. Sorry about the threats. My wife’s a therapist if you want to see her about it.”
“I’m not here to talk about your wife. The security footage shows you nearby the spot Johnson’s Camera was taken.”
“And you think I took it? Listen I know the importance of not stealing from a crime scene. It’s been embedded in me for years and if I had it I would’ve immediately returned it.”
“You’re notorious for stealing.”
“Name one instance.”
“That donut on Friday was mine!”
“That’s food that’s different.”
“Still. How do we know you didn’t take it quickly enough that the Camera didn’t get seen on the footage?”
“I’m not that quick.”
“Clawson! Chief wants us on a car chase! Oscar, Morales, Johnson! Stay overtime! This case needs to be solved.”
“Will do.”
“Bye Oscar. Have fun looking for a camera.” Clawson says as he leaves.
“There is a notorious thief here.” Morales says. “Countless reports of missing items. All standardized police equipment. I’ve reviewed the footage it’s all the same thing. Glitch then gone.”
“No one would be able to steal this much from an active crime scene that isn’t a cop or invisible!”
“I know which is why this is crazy to me.”
“You don’t think it might be aliens?”
“Okay I didn’t know you were a conspiracy theorist as well Oscar.” Morales and Oscar look at each other. Morales is a beautiful black pantheress with silky smooth fur and emerald green eyes. Her wet pink nose is lined with long black whiskers.
“Why are you staring at me like that?” She catches Oscar zoning out.
“Oh sorry. Just didn’t notice how green your eyes are.”
“We’ve been working together how many years? Plus big green eyes were a decoration at my wedding in which you were invited if you didn’t remember.”
“Yeah sorry.”
“Would you two stop gawking over each other? We need to look for all the equipment!” Johnson says. He’s a Rhinoceros. His heavy footsteps shake the old west museum.
“Relax Johnson we are!”
Johnson scoffs as he gets on the ground to search below a counter.
“What’s the inventory count?”
“3 tasers, 6 Handcuffs, 2 Cameras, 1 Gun, 5 Flashlights.”
“All big enough items. How they’re lost is beyond me.”
“Same.”
The three spend hours searching but don’t find any clues or evidence.
Eventually they all go home.
Months go by and the killer doesn’t kill. Then more months. Faith in the case falls. But Oscar isn’t going to give up. Years go by. The Serial Killer just hasn’t killed anymore. The Museum is abandoned and the chief decided to close the case.
Night City 2016.
“Chief Garcia! You can’t consider calling this case a cold case! The killer is still out there!” Oscar yells at the chief in his office.
“Detective Wilson I understand your desire to solve this case. You believe your children are at risk but I assure you. It’s fine the trail is dead! This killer is no longer active! Solve it on your own terms but if you argue to open it up again diverting much needed resources elsewhere you’re fired. Got it?”
“Yes chief.”
“Good.”
Oscar enters his car and drives home. He enters his house and takes off his uniform.
“Daddy!” Oscar’s children rush to him hugging his legs. He leans down and picks them up.
“Oh Clint, Azalea I missed you two!” Oscar swings them around laughing and blowing raspberries. They laugh as Oscar twirls them around. Oscar stops and begins a howl. His kids join in. A fourth howl forms from the kitchen. Once the howl dies down Oscars wife exits the kitchen. A gorgeous she-wolf her gray pelt reflects the moonlight she wears sweats and a baggy shirt. She seems a little tired and worried as well.
“Oscar?”
“Oh sorry pups. Momma wants to talk to me.”
“Ok daddy!”
“Summer break right! Whoop whoop!” He cheers them.
“Oscar.”
“Rebecca honey?”
“I heard the news. Garcia faxed me.”
“Who still faxes?”
“My hospital.”
“Wow. Old fashioned much?”
“Babe.”
“What?”
“You need to re open that case. Find something out.”
“Yeah.”
“I’m concerned for our safety especially theirs!” Rebecca points at the kids. “It seems your chief doesn’t have them in mind. The case becoming cold will inspire the killer to strike again. And if it was his plan all along! Shit.”
“I’m doing what I can baby. Relax.”
“There was missing equipment at the scene right? Maybe going to find that will help.”
“I’ll go see.”
“I’ll go tell the kids you’ll be gone for a bit.” Oscar leans in for a kiss.
The museum.
Oscar pulls up and enters the building. As he walks through the entrance hallway he hears a thud.
“Who’s there?” He yells as he pulls out his taser getting in a defensive position. He walks through. He clears room after room till he gets to the main room. No people.
“Ahh fucking old floorboards. OWWWW!” Oscar steps on a nail. He panics this building has been abandoned since the murder 2 years ago this nail has to be rusted.
He winces as he leans down and pulls the nail out.
“Gahhh Fuck!” He screams. The nail is covered in his blood but it’s not rusted somehow.
“What the…” He notices a box of nails on the ground.
“This museum really kept its artifacts well kept huh. Even post abandonment. Heh.”
‘Marshall and Johnson’s Supplies est 1856. manufactured products in 1936.’
“Ok now that’s weird.” He says reading the label.
He walks up to a glass case. He places his taser down on a table and uses both hands to lift the glass case.
A loud swoosh is heard. He turns and notices his taser is taken in a diamond shaped rift. He panics.
Another rift appears. A gun drops through.
Oscar rushes and grabs it.
‘Nicholas Parker’s Luger Sweet Valentine.’
“Nicholas Parker? What? Isn’t that my Grandpas boss?” Oscar realizes the situation.

I have hade a weird few weeks. I scored amazingly on Law entrance test and decently on my MBA entrance exam. My parents didn’t let me go for the MBA college in a different state because I am careless and forgetful and easy to abduct/incriminate. (they don’t know about my adhd) and I was more interested in MBA than I am for law. Their opinion matters because they are paying for my education. I feel caged and I was very angry and upset about all it. Then, on Thursday, my grandmother passed away. She was in at her brother’s home so I keep on thinking that she is at her brother’s home and she will return. I almost asked my mom if she talking to my grandma on the phone.
Sometimes I forget she is gone but when I remember, I am not sad but I am very angry that she passed away. I am angry at God (I am a Hindu, I think God is okay with it?) and I am angry my uncles for not bringing my grandma home. I am angry at my parents for not letting me go. I am also relieved that my grandmother passed, she wasn’t keeping well. I keep on forgetting that she is gone forever and I am worried that when it sinks in that she is never returning, I will break down. We weren’t very close but we loved each other and I wanted her to be at my wedding. I am worried it might never sink in. I am so confused. Is there a way to ease all of this?

This is a total shot in the dark, but here goes:
In May of 2010 (this is a correct date, so it is 100% not a song released after May 2010) at my mom's friend's wedding, I heard a song that I have been sporadically looking for ever since. The only thing I can remember about it, however, is that it was very reminiscent of the sound of Katie Melua, especially her song "If You Were a Sailboat". However, I have listened through Katie's discography several times and I haven't found it, so I doubt it's her - could be though!

2024.05.28 10:48 Alarmed-Pick-6703 Separation before wedding and family tension - help!

My (M) partner (F) and I are engaged and have been living together the last 4 years (engaged one year and together 10 years). We are beginning to plan and will be having a Hindu-Punjabi wedding. I have grown up in a Hindu/Sikh family but am not traditional or religious. My family and mother in particular is extremely traditional, but has accepted we have been living together and conducting our relationship in a non traditional way (living under the same house in the same bed etc)
My family are insistent on doing things in a traditional way (with all the pre-wedding functions as normal for these types of events) which I respect and want. However, they are also insistent that I move home one month before the wedding, and do not see my partner for a month before (although they are saying I can text/call, just not see); they say this will add to the excitement when I see the bride on the wedding day for the first time in a while. Is this a tradition? My partner and I do not want to follow this AT ALL and it is causing arguments between us, but my family are adamant it is what is right and are causing a fuss about it… My fiancée and I are planning the wedding day and need to see vendors and support each other on coordination up until a few days before, not seeing each other would strain us and put us under a lot stress before the big day. Unless there is something I am missing, I am going to have to put my foot down to the dismay of my family.
Has anyone experienced this or can share any wisdom? My relationship with my fiancee and parents/family has been quite separate up until now, and juggling their differing wants/needs i find to be challenging and stressful.

She was the daughter of our neighbors. Our houses were so close that we could hear each other's conversations. One day Catherine (the name she later received at her baptism) came to my brother and asked him to tell her... about Christ and Christianity.
She knew that our family practiced this strange and incomprehensible religion to most Hindus. We were Anglicans and my brother was even an Anglican pastor. Later, in 2012, it was he who would discover the truth of the Orthodox faith - first for himself and then for our whole family. I have already told “Thomas” journal about this long and difficult story of our conversion to Orthodoxy.
Chandrapur is a city in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Father Clement's hometown.
So, every night we would get together as a family and sing Christian songs, and she would listen. The rest of the time, she and her brother would talk about religion on the phone for long periods of time. As you can see, I have almost no part in this story so far. Almost, because my brother used my SIM card for calls - it was free of charge. A small thing, which would later become of great importance.
It was 2013. Katya, like the rest of our family, had already converted to Orthodoxy. And one day she suddenly tells her brother that her parents want to force her to marry a Hindu and asks for our help. We thought for a long time and decided... to steal her! We told her our plan to take her abroad and she agreed.
We bought black Islamic clothes, on the appointed day she was to pass at the specified place, and a car was already waiting there. She left the house as usual, said goodbye to everyone... and a few hours later she “unexpectedly” found herself in another country. My family and an Orthodox priest I know from Russia helped her financially. She stayed there only a few days. Realizing that it was not safe for her to be alone abroad, she returned to India and settled in the home of an Orthodox family, good friends of ours, who lived in another state.
But back to the day Katya ran away from home. It was evening, and her parents were getting worried. They're calling everyone, looking for her. They came to us - but we don't let them see us, we just sigh and say: “Yes, it's bad that she's missing!” Meanwhile, my brother was constantly in touch with her, everything seemed to be under control. But we made one mistake: she left her SIM card at home, and my parents quickly found it. They looked at the call history and saw that she often called my brother, but the SIM card was registered to me!
At night I started getting calls from her relatives. I took my rosary beads and started praying - I was scared. They called me to their house. They asked me where she was. I denied everything. They let me go, but said that tomorrow they would go to the police and there they would do everything to make me confess. And indeed, the next morning the police called me and invited me to the office. I didn't know what to do.
At that time my mother worked as a nurse, and at the hospital she told me about our problem. Her colleague advised us to contact a friend who, according to him, could help us in some way. When we went to him and told him about the family that was threatening us, he agreed to go with us to the police office. On the way to the police office, a neighbor calls me, I pick up the phone and hear, “Be careful, her parents have hired a hitman to kill you.” The voice on the phone even gave me the name of the killer. I immediately recounted the story to my brother and our new acquaintance. What our assistant said struck me: “Ah, I know him and I've been looking for him for a long time! How good it is that through you I will finally get to him.” Our mysterious friend made a few calls and said that the problem would soon be solved.

As we found out later, our new friend turned out to be one of the city's top gangsters. He had long wanted to get even with the killer who had been hired especially for me. As soon as the killer found out who was looking for him, he instantly disappeared from sight and was never seen in the city again. When all this was revealed, we were shocked - before and could not imagine who this man who literally saved my life.
But that's not all. It turned out that Katya's parents, in order to harm me, hired... a dark magician! Neighbors suggested that we turn to another, “white” sorcerer, but we, already by that time having come to Orthodoxy, answered everyone: “We are Orthodox, and therefore we ask for help and intercession only from the Lord Jesus Christ. Every day the whole family read the Psalter. It seemed that every word was written about us and for us, in every line there was comfort from God.
But we still had to go to the police office. There we realized that the police had been bribed by Katya's parents. There was real psychological violence in the interrogation room, and no one was going to register my complaints about threats.

For long hours they tortured me with the same questions, but I kept repeating that I didn't know anything. Then they started beating other people in front of me, adding that the same thing would happen to me if I didn't tell the truth. “You're next,” one of the police officers said.
I saw the officer go for the baton. I went cold. But no sooner had he returned when suddenly one of the officers announced: the chief of police had come to the station for an unscheduled inspection. They were forced to meet him. “Get out of here,” they said irritably to me, for my detention was illegal and could anger their superiors.
That day the Lord saved me again! But for another week I had to come to the office and sit there until evening. This exhausting wait for the unknown was used as a technique to get me to start talking. No food or water, only my brother always by my side - and that cheered me up a lot.
They took my passport, which is also illegal. And I just had plane tickets to Thailand, where I was supposed to get a recommendation for admission to a spiritual academy in Russia. Now how could I fly away?
We went to a lawyer, told him the whole story. He agreed to help us get our passport back, but warned us never to call our problem a religious one: “Say that you fell in love, because in such cases even the state helps. Well, I had to agree. The passport was eventually returned.
Fifteen days passed. And so Katya returned to our city - she was very worried that she had caused our family troubles, and could not afford to hide. She was afraid that her further absence would provoke many more terrible things....
Immediately upon her return, her parents found her and locked her up at home. However, not even a month later, she ran away from them for the second time, already by herself. She called my brother because she had no idea what to do next. We decided that I would go to the airport and fly with her to New Delhi, the capital of India.
Streets of New Delhi
There is an organization in New Delhi that helps lovers to be together if their parents are against it. We went there as soon as we arrived.
We played the unhappy couple brilliantly, like real Bollywood actors! The representatives of that organization sent letters to the Ministry of Interior, to the police, to Katya's family, in which they made it clear that she and I were now under surveillance and protection. Then they also asked us to sign a bunch of different papers. Only later we found out that one of them was a marriage contract. And I wasn't even going to get married!
“What? How? Why?” - we were puzzled when we had the marriage certificate in our hands. And the organization that protected us replied: “You should have known! Isn't that why you came here?” The deed was done, there was no going back....
From New Delhi Katya went to the Indian state of Karnataka, to the home of our Orthodox friends, to start working and living a Christian life without fear of persecution. Meanwhile, I was still able to fly to Thailand. Then I exhaled a sigh of relief: “It's finally over!”

I stayed in Thailand for almost a month, got a recommendation and returned to India, and a year later I left to study at the St. Petersburg Theological Academy. Throughout this time, I realized that she was alone, in an unfamiliar city with strangers. We were constantly texting each other, as the possibility of going on video calls was not yet available at that time. All this continued for a year.
When at the academy found out that I was married, all my acquaintances began to reproach me: “You realize that she is alone there, suffering! As a Christian, you can't leave her, you have to think of something”. I resisted at first, since my task was accomplished - she was free and safe. But eventually I gave in. If it had been another girl, I doubt I would have agreed, but Katya, as I realized more and more, really did like me.
With my mom and brother we called almost every day, discussing what we could do. Katya, by the way, had moved into my parents' house back in 2014 - in India, a girl usually can't live alone, and in her case it was especially unsafe. While I was studying at the academy, Katya lived in India with my parents. She came to Russia only twice: for the wedding and for the day of my chastening.
When I graduated from the academy, we returned to India together to serve the Lord there and preach the Gospel. Kathi's parents still don't want to establish a relationship. Slowly they started inviting her to dinner or for a walk in the city, but the neighbors always warn, “Don't go, it's dangerous.” For some reason they still can't accept our choice. My parents are Hindus, but I was sent to an Anglican school. There was a small temple there, which I started going to secretly from my parents. At first only out of curiosity. I knew that everyone in Clement's family was a Christian, so I decided to ask them about the unknown Christ and His house, to which I was drawn after my studies.
I called Clement's brother Polycarp, who was still an Anglican priest at the time, and he would tell me about Christianity. We could talk for hours! Of course, the calls were a secret: in an Indian family, the daughter does not have complete freedom, she is entirely subordinate to her father or older brother. I was obliged to practice Hinduism, but the more I learned about Christianity, the less I saw the truth in my parents' religion.
In time I realized that I wanted to be a Christian. I was secretly baptized outside the city by an Orthodox priest - he came to India just so that through the sacrament of Chrismation Clement's family, who had long dreamed of it, could join the Orthodox Church.
At first I tried to observe the external rituals of Hinduism, so that my parents would not suspect anything, and in my heart I prayed to Christ. But with time it became more and more difficult. I stopped going to the Hindu temple. At home, every Hindu has a small home “church” for daily prayer, and it was a place I began to avoid. Indian families are very conservative, honoring traditions, especially religious ones. A daughter must behave impeccably to preserve the honor of the family. That is why my “strange” behavior first alarmed and then angered my parents.

Scolding and even beatings started. I was forbidden to continue my studies. I kept silent: it was frightening to talk about the fact that I had secretly changed my religion. One day my parents found my Bible, which Clement's brother had given me, wrapped in the cover of a dictionary as a precaution. That's when the truth was revealed.
They tore up the book and said, “If you don't give up all this, we'll give you in marriage.” And marrying a Hindu meant only one thing - total loss of freedom. My family was wealthy, so I got many offers from real millionaires, and I turned each one down. My parents were furious!
At some point, together with Polikarp and I decided that I had to run away from home. I first went abroad, then returned to India and settled with an Orthodox family in a distant city. I had no idea of the horrors that were happening to Clement and his family because of me! As soon as I heard about the situation with the police, I decided to return home so as not to put Clement at such risk. My parents took me from the police station where I went for help and put me under house arrest.

I thought it was all over, that I would never again be able to live a happy life in Christ. I could not stay alone because I was constantly guarded by a relative. But after 15 days I had an opportunity to escape. I was sent to visit a relative who was on my side. “Let's put it this way: you have five minutes while I sleep to escape from here,” she suggested, and I happily agreed.
I rushed straight to the airport. From there, completely confused and highly agitated, I called Polycarp, “I don't know what, but please do something because I left home.”
It was safe at the airport because there is a lot of security, but this security was also relative. Together with Clement, who came to visit me, we flew to New Delhi, and on the advice of a lawyer he knew, we went to a young couples' protection agency. We were unexpectedly married, even though Clement and I were not even in love!

After that we separated. I stayed with an Orthodox family I knew in the state of Karnataka, where I found a job and was finally able to practice Orthodoxy freely. I knew that Kliment was going to enter a theological academy in Russia, and I knew about all his moves.
It was hard for me to realize that he and I could only be friends, since a real, non-fictitious marriage was out of the question. I realized that he was the one I saw as my husband, even if it was only in my dreams. He was a sincere man of faith, and I liked that very much. In addition, he had suffered so much, all because of me and my family - and how steadfastly he endured all the hardships! It was then that I felt how much I loved him.
I was incredibly happy when I heard that he wanted to marry me. I immediately packed up and came to Russia, to the St. Petersburg Theological Academy. As I remember now this day: January 24, 2016. It was then that we were joined in marriage in Heaven.

Fr. Clement gave me life - a new, free, happy life with Christ and in Christ. I am grateful to God for everything that has happened to us. After all, could it be that otherwise we would not have been together?

This is dumb, but I am growing up in a strict Hindu society. I was taught from a young age to not marry out of my 'caste'. I like a boy from school who my family will disapprove of because of his last name. I was joking around with my friends and made a fake wedding invitation on lined paper with some goofy ahh stuff written on it.
My grandmother somehow found it, and said she won't tell my parents although she almost decided to. Her voice started cracking and she said some absolutely repulsive things about my crush related to his caste which is just appalling for me to hear. I'm afraid my family will now think I'm getting distracted from my studies because they will assume this guy is my boyfriend if my grandmother tells them. I haven't talked to my grandmother since. Apologies all, I kept finding so much new material as writing this that it is a little disjointed. I have placed the BAFTA interview at the start as it nicely frames the rest.
Summary: An overlooked very close lookalike to KM and candidate for the actress who played her in the AI Cancer Video is Allison Williams. She is a Hollyweird B-List actress from a very well connected/intelligence handled US media family and actually wrote and starred in a series as KM in 2011. She said in an interview with SiriusXM that she used to be told once or twice a week that she looked like her.
Her face shape seems to match the AI Cancer Video (which would not have to have been recorded in the UK), including Allison Williams chin dimple. She is conveniently now much skinnier than usual, right in time for her role as KM on the deepfake big screen.

INTRO

A few days ago we saw how to authorise extra repositories for apt-cache to search when we need unusual applications, or perhaps more recent versions than those in the standard repositories.
Today we're going one step further - literally going to "go to the source". This is not something to be done lightly - the whole reason for package managers is to make your life easy - but occasionally it is justified, and it is something you need to be aware of and comfortable with.
The applications we've been installing up to this point have come from repositories. The files there are "binaries" - pre-compiled, and often customised by your distro. What might not be clear is that your distro gets these applications from a diverse range of un-coordinated development projects (the "upstream"), and these developers are continuously working on new versions. We’ll go to one of these, download the source, compile and install it.
(Another big part of what package managers like apt do, is to identify and install any required "dependencies". In the Linux world many open source apps take advantage of existing infrastructure in this way, but it can be a very tricky thing to resolve manually. However, the app we're installing today from source is relatively unusual in being completly standalone).

FIRST WE NEED THE ESSENTIALS

Projects normally provide their applications as "source files", written in the C, C++ or other computer languages. We're going to pull down such a source file, but it won't be any use to us until we compile it into an "executable" - a program that our server can execute. So, we'll need to first install a standard bundle of common compilers and similar tools. On Ubuntu, the package of such tools is called “build-essential". Install it like this:
sudo apt install build-essential

GETTING THE SOURCE

First, test that you already have nmap installed, and type nmap -V to see what version you have. This is the version installed from your standard repositories. Next, type: which nmap - to see where the executable is stored.
Now let’s go to the "Project Page" for the developers http://nmap.org/ and grab the very latest cutting-edge version. Look for the download page, then the section “Source Code Distribution” and the link for the "Latest development nmap release tarball" and note the URL for it - something like:

 https://nmap.org/dist/nmap-7.70.tar.bz2

This is version 7.70, the latest development release when these notes were written, but it may be different now. So now we'll pull this down to your server. The first question is where to put it - we'll put it in your home directory, so change to your home directory with:
cd
then simply using wget ("web get"), to download the file like this:
wget -v https://nmap.org/dist/nmap-7.70.tar.bz2
The -v (for verbose), gives some feedback so that you can see what's happening. Once it's finished, check by listing your directory contents:
ls -ltr
As we’ve learnt, the end of the filename is typically a clue to the file’s format - in this case ".bz2" signals that it's a tarball compressed with the bz2 algorithm. While we could uncompress this then un-combine the files in two steps, it can be done with one command - like this:
tar -j -x -v -f nmap-7.70.tar.bz2
....where the -j means "uncompress a bz2 file first", -x is extract, -v is verbose - and -f says "the filename comes next". Normally we'd actually do this more concisely as:
tar -jxvf nmap-7.70.tar.bz2
So, lets see the results,
ls -ltr
Remembering that directories have a leading "d" in the listing, you'll see that a directory has been created :

Now explore the contents of this with mc or simply cd nmap-7.70 - you should be able to use ls and less find and read the actual source code. Even if you know no programming, the comments can be entertaining reading.
By convention, source files will typically include in their root directory a series of text files in uppercase such as: README and INSTALLATION. Look for these, and read them using more or less. It's important to realise that the programmers of the "upstream" project are not writing for Ubuntu, CentOS - or even Linux. They have written a correct working program in C or C++ etc and made it available, but it's up to us to figure out how to compile it for our operating system, chip type etc. (This hopefully gives a little insight into the value that distributions such as CentOS, Ubuntu and utilities such as apt, yum etc add, and how tough it would be to create your own Linux From Scratch)
So, in this case we see an INSTALL file that says something terse like:

 Ideally, you should be able to just type: ./configure make make install For far more in-depth compilation, installation, and removal notes read the Nmap Install Guide at http://nmap.org/install/ .

In fact, this is fairly standard for many packages. Here's what each of the steps does:

./configure - is a script which checks your server (ie to see whether it's ARM or Intel based, 32 or 64-bit, which compiler you have etc). It can also be given parameters to tailor the compilation of the software, such as to not include any extra support for running in a GUI environment - something that would make sense on a "headless" (remote text-only server), or to optimize for minimum memory use at the expense of speed - as might make sense if your server has very little RAM. If asked any questions, just take the defaults - and don't panic if you get some WARNING messages, chances are that all will be well.
make - compiles the software, typically calling the GNU compiler gcc. This may generate lots of scary looking text, and take a minute or two - or as much as an hour or two for very large packages like LibreOffice.
make install - this step takes the compiled files, and installs that plus documentation to your system and in some cases will setup services and scheduled tasks etc. Until now you've just been working in your home directory, but this step installs to the system for all users, so requires root privileges. Because of this, you'll need to actually run: sudo make install. If asked any questions, just take the defaults.

Now, potentially this last step will have overwritten the nmap you already had, but more likely this new one has been installed into a different place.
In general /bin is for key parts of the operating system, /usbin for less critical utilities and /uslocal/bin for software you've chosed to manually install yourself. When you type a command it will search through each of the directories given in your PATH environment variable, and start the first match. So, if /bin/nmap exists, it will run instead of /uslocal/bin - but if you give the "full path" to the version you want - such as /uslocal/bin/nmap - it will run that version instead.
The “locate” command allows very fast searching for files, but because these files have only just been added, we'll need to manually update the index of files:
sudo updatedb
Then to search the index:
locate bin/nmap
This should find both your old and copies of nmap
Now try running each, for example:
/usbin/nmap -V
/uslocal/bin/nmap -V
The nmap utility relies on no other package or library, so is very easy to install from source. Most other packages have many "dependencies", so installing them from source by hand can be pretty challenging even when well explained (look at: http://oss.oetiker.ch/smokeping/doc/smokeping_install.en.html for a good example).
NOTE: Because you've done all this outside of the apt system, this binary won't get updates when you run apt update. Not a big issue with a utility like nmap probably, but for anything that runs as an exposed service it's important that you understand that you now have to track security alerts for the application (and all of its dependencies), and install the later fixed versions when they're available. This is a significant pain/risk for a production server.

Let’s get it out of the way: Crystal is boring and yes she was opportunistic. But she has a point about how Holly has openly disliked her for years, and that their experiences are very similar.
Holly’s always been a ‘sniper from the side’. She throws rocks and then hides her hands. She did it with Kendra, and gets away with it because Kendra overreacted with the explicit tweets. But her shade is subtle and steady with just enough plausible deniability to feign innocence.
An example of that is here, where Holly calls Crystal and the twins ‘the skanks next door’ and then says ‘I didn’t say that, people who commented on my Myspace said that’
When she returned to the mansion to see Hef she said to Crystal “You take care of him or I’ll be on you!” here
In her conversation with Kendra and Mary for the ‘Hef’s Runaway Bride’ special here she’s shady, again making the Hef ‘dodged a bullet’ comment and sarcastically saying she left ‘at the right time for her single’.
This one struck me because she continues to dismiss Crystal even after Mary tells her that Crystal called her at the Jazz Festival in tears saying she ‘couldn’t do this and needed a shrink’ —which Holly wrote about a nearly identical situation going on antidepressants and wanting to talk to a therapist and Hef just saying to talk to Mary.

“I’d like to see Hef settle down,” Holly told the tabloid. “I just want it to be with the right person, and I feel like he’s making a hasty decision. I’m not sure Crystal is the best thing for him.”

But to prove her off-handed remarks were really attacks on Crystal, Holly took her tweets one step further and declared a “war of words” with her fellow platinum playmate! When Crystal tweeted, “Hard times show your real friends…” Holly boldly shot back with, “No, they show HEF’s real friends…”
She jumped in to comment on Crystal taking her dog with her that was attached to Hef (even though she re-homed her own dogs she got with Hef to her parents and immediately got 3 new ones)
"Why did you voluntarily give the dog to Hef (who loves him too) after you left, only to ask for him back a few months later?" Madison, who stars in Holly's World and also appeared on the eighth season of Dancing with the Stars, wrote on her Twitter account Monday.
"Dogs shouldn't be yanked from happy homes on a whim. She needs to quit attention-seeking!"
Took a shot at Crystal with her usual passive-aggressive style when asked about naming her daughter Rainbow:

Crystal just didn't come off as comfortable or clever enough to think up even a lame zinger like that. In fact, most of her dialogue on the show was painfully awkward at best.
"Ugh," I groaned. I had heard through the grapevine that Crystal was still moping around the mansion because she had "her show taken away" and was upset that I was the one still on television. Any suggestion of my presence anywhere near Playboy sent Crystal into a frenzy.
What happened to the laid-back Crystal I had seen the last time I visited the mansion? "Are you serious? We didn't get into a fight," I snapped, exasperated by her immaturity. "Someone on Twitter pointed out that she copied my underwater photo shoot, and later I made a generic post about hating copycats. That's it. Climate: The local climate is equatorial and characterised by the annual southwest (April to October) and northeast (October to February) monsoons. The temperature is moderated by the presence of the surrounding oceans. Humidity is usually high, and the average annual rainfall is 250 cm (98 in). The climates of the Peninsula and the East differ, as the climate on the peninsula is directly affected by wind from the mainland, as opposed to the more maritime weather of the East. Local climates can be divided into three regions, highland, lowland, and coastal.

Terrain: Much of Malaysia is coast or rainforest. Its land borders are defined in large part by geological features such as the Perlis River, the Golok River and the Pagalayan Canal, whilst some of the maritime boundaries are the subject of ongoing contention. The two parts of Malaysia, separated from each other by the South China Sea, share a largely similar landscape in that both Peninsular and East Malaysia feature coastal plains rising to hills and mountains. Peninsular Malaysia, containing 40 per cent of Malaysia's land area, extends 740 km (460 mi) from north to south, and its maximum width is 322 km (200 mi). It is divided between its east and west coasts by the Titiwangsa Mountains, rising to a peak elevation of 2,183 metres (7,162 ft) at Mount Korbu, part of a series of mountain ranges running down the centre of the peninsula. These mountains are heavily forested, and mainly composed of granite and other igneous rocks. Much of it has been eroded, creating a karst landscape. The range is the origin of some of Peninsular Malaysia's river systems. The coastal plains surrounding the peninsula reach a maximum width of 50 kilometres (31 mi), and the peninsula's coastline is nearly 1,931 km (1,200 mi) long, although harbours are only available on the western side. East Malaysia, on the island of Borneo, has a coastline of 2,607 km (1,620 mi). It is divided between coastal regions, hills and valleys, and a mountainous interior. The Crocker Range extends northwards from Sarawak, dividing the state of Sabah. It is the location of the 4,095 m (13,435 ft) high Mount Kinabalu, the tallest mountain in Malaysia. Mount Kinabalu is located in the Kinabalu National Park, which is protected as one of the four UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Malaysia. The highest mountain ranges form the border between Malaysia and Indonesia. Sarawak contains the Mulu Caves, the largest cave system in the world, in the Gunung Mulu National Park which is also a World Heritage Site. The largest river in Malaysia is the Rajang. Around these two halves of Malaysia are numerous islands, the largest of which is Banggi.

Wildlife of Malaysia: The wildlife of Malaysia is diverse, with Malaysia being a megadiverse country. Most of the country is covered in rainforest, which hosts a huge diversity of plant and animal species. There are approximately 361 mammal species, 694 bird species, 250 reptile species, and 150 frog species found in Malaysia. Its large marine territory also holds a great diversity of life, with the country's coastal waters comprising part of the Coral Triangle. Peninsular Malaysia holds four big cats: the Indochinese tiger, the Malayan tiger, the Indochinese leopard and also the clouded leopard. Another major predator is the sunbear. Large prey exists, such as the Sumatran rhinoceros, the Malayan tapir, mouse deer, barking deer, sambar deer, wild boar, and Bornean bearded pigs. Gaurs and Asian elephants can also be found. Lowland animals such as these also can be found at higher altitudes, along with animals specialised for mountain living, such as siamang gibbons, red squirrels, and lesser moon rat species. East Malaysia lacks the tigers of the Peninsula, leaving Sunda clouded leopards, sunbears, and Sunda otter civet as the primary predators. Borneo elephants are also found there, along with Bornean orangutans, Mueller's gibbons, macaques, proboscis monkeys, silvered leaf monkeys, langurs, and slow lorises. Marbled cats and leopard cats are smaller predators. Kinabalu ferret-badgers, Kinabalu black shrews, Hose's palm civets, and Brooke's tree squirrels are endemic to the mountains of Borneo. Other small mammals include mongooses and giant rats. 11,300 orangutans are found in East Malaysia. Other ape species include the white-handed gibbon and the siamang. Malaysia has 10 monkey species, divided between langurs and macaques. Proboscis monkeys, the world's largest monkey, are a langur species endemic to Borneo. Macaque species include the crab-eating macaque and the pig-tailed macaque. The Malayan tiger, a close relative of the Indochinese tiger, is endemic to the Malay peninsula with a remaining population of about 300 (250-340). Small cats such as the bay cat and various civet cats are also found. 1200 Asian elephants exist on the Peninsula, with another population existing in East Malaysia. The world's largest cattle species, the seladang, is found in Malaysia. Fruit bats are also found throughout the country, with a high concentration in the Mulu Caves. There are also the Malayan pit viper, king cobras, Dumeril's monitors, Malay water monitors, and estuarine crocodiles. The king cobra is the deadliest snake found, but it is rarely encountered. The reticulated python is said to grow up to 10 metres (33 ft) in length. Monitor lizards, almost 2 metres (7 ft) in length, are found in both halves of the country. They also have a ton of birds.

Environmental Issues: The national statistics showed that the state of some of the Malaysian environment is rather stressful. Urban air quality, river water quality, deforestation, costal reclamation, and endangered species are just a few of the issues in Malaysia.

Beliefs: The Malay are 0.1% Christian. That means out of their population of 14,098,000, there are roughly 14,098 believers. Thats about 1 believer for every 1000 unbeliever.
Islam was brought to Malaysia by Arabic and Indian traders many centuries ago, and the Malay people have come to embrace and ardently follow the Islamic faith. All Malay people are considered Islamic though levels of devotion to the religion are varied. Even those who half-heartedly follow Islam participate in the fasting month, and the Malay people of affluence will go on the pilgrimage to Mecca at least once if not many times during their lifetime.
The Malay have early roots in Hinduism and traces of this can still be seen in certain aspects of their culture such as weddings. For instance, the bride and groom will paint their hands with henna and will sit upon a platform for hours for the guests to admire.
Another divergence from Islam is the use of a bomoh (witchdoctor). Although Islam forbids the use of such a person, many Malay of Peninsular Malaysia will seek the services of a bomoh when they are experiencing a difficult situation or when they need some "magic." Also, they use bomohs for honorable or ignoble purposes. Furthermore, they consult bomohs in order to receive a blessing or a cure; or, on the other hand, in order to curse someone or get revenge.

History: There is no definite evidence which dates the first Indian voyages across the Bay of Bengal but conservative estimates place the earliest arrivals on Malay shores at least 2,000 years ago. The discovery of jetty remains, iron smelting sites, and a clay brick monument dating back to 110 CE in the Bujang Valley, shows that a maritime trading route with South Indian Tamil kingdoms was already established since the second century.
The growth of trade with India brought coastal people in much of maritime Southeast Asia into contact with the major religions of Hinduism and Buddhism. Throughout this area a most profound in influence has been exerted by India which seems to have introduced into it architecture, sculpture, writing, monarchy, religion, iron, cotton and a host of elements of higher culture. Indian religions, cultural traditions and Sanskrit began to spread across the land. Hindu temples were built in the Indian style, local kings began referring to themselves as "raja" and more desirable aspects of Indian government were adopted
The beginning of the Common Era saw the rise of Malay states in the coastal areas of the Sumatra and Malay Peninsula; Srivijaya, Nakhon Si Thammarat Kingdom, Gangga Negara, Langkasuka, Kedah, Pahang, the Melayu Kingdom and Chi Tu. Between the 7th and 13th centuries, many of these small, often prosperous peninsula and Sumatran maritime trading states, became part of the mandala of Srivijaya, a great confederation of city-states centred in Sumatra. Early during this period, the earliest known mention of the word "Malayu" was used in Chinese sources in 644 CE. Later in the mid-14th century, the word Malay was already recognized as a collective people sharing similar heritage, customs and language.
Srivijaya's influence spread over all the coastal areas of Sumatra and the Malay Peninsula, western Java and western Borneo, as well as the rest of the Malay Archipelago. Enjoying both Indian and Chinese patronage, its wealth was gained mostly through trade. At its height, the Old Malay language was used as its official language and became the lingua franca of the region, replacing Sanskrit, the language of Hinduism. The Srivijayan era is considered the golden age of Malay culture.
The glory of Srivijaya however began to wane after the series of raids by the Tamil Chola dynasty in the 11th century. After the fall of Srivijaya in 1025 CE, the Malayu kingdom of Jambi, Sumatra, became the most dominant Malay state of the region. By the end of the 13th century, the remnants of the Malay empire in Sumatra was finally destroyed by the Javanese invaders during the Pamalayu expedition (Pamalayu means "war against the Malays").
In 1299, through the support of the loyal servants of the empire, the Orang laut, a Malay prince of Palembang origin, Sang Nila Utama established the Kingdom of Singapura in Temasek. His dynasty ruled the island kingdom until the end of the 14th century, when the Malay polity once again faced the wrath of Javanese invaders. In 1400, his great-great-grandson, Parameswara, headed north and established the Malacca Sultanate. The new kingdom succeeded Srivijaya and inherited much of the royal and cultural traditions, including a large part of the territories of its predecessor.
In the north of the peninsula, the power vacuum left by the collapse of Srivijaya was filled by the growth of the kingdom of Tambralinga in the 12th century. Between the 13th to early 14th century, the kingdom succeeded to incorporate most of the Malay Peninsula under its mandala. The campaign led by Chandrabhanu Sridhamaraja (1230–1263) managed to capture Jaffna kingdom in Sri Lanka between 1247 and 1258. He was eventually defeated by the forces of the Pandyan dynasty from Tamil Nadu in 1263 and was killed by the brother of Emperor Sadayavarman Sundara Pandyan I. The invasion marked an unrivaled feature in the history of Southeast Asia, it was the only time there was an armed maritime expedition beyond the borders of the region.
The cultivation of Malay polity system also diffused beyond the proper Sumatran-Peninsular border during this era. The age avowed by exploration and migration of the Malays to establish kingdoms beyond the traditional Srivijayan realm. Several exemplification are the enthronement of a Tambralingan prince to reign the Lavo Kingdom in present-day Central Thailand, the foundation of Rajahnate of Cebu in the Visayas and the establishment of the Tanjungpura Kingdom in what is now West Kalimantan, Borneo. The expansion is also eminent as it shaped the ethnogenesis development of the related Acehnese and Banjar people and further spreading the Indian-influenced Malay ethos within the regional sphere.
The period of the 12th and 15th centuries saw the arrival of Islam and the rise of the great port-city of Malacca on the southwestern coast of the Malay Peninsula — two major developments that altered the course of Malay history.
The Islamic faith arrived on the shores of what are now the states of Kedah, Perak, Kelantan and Terengganu, from around the 12th century. The earliest archaeological evidence of Islam from the Malay Peninsula is the Terengganu Inscription Stone dating from the 14th century found in Terengganu state, Malaysia.
By the 15th century, the Malacca Sultanate, whose hegemony reached over much of the western Malay Archipelago, had become the centre of Islamisation in the east. As a Malaccan state religion, Islam brought many great transformation into the Malaccan society and culture, and It became the primary instrument in the evolution of a common Malay identity. The Malaccan era witnessed the close association of Islam with Malay society and how it developed into a definitive marker of Malay identity. Over time, this common Malay cultural idiom came to characterise much of the Malay Archipelago through the Malayisation process. The expansion of Malaccan influence through trade and Dawah brought with it together the Classical Malay language, the Islamic faith, and the Malay Muslim culture; the three core values of Kemelayuan ("Malayness").
In 1511, the Malaccan capital fell into the hands of Portuguese conquistadors. However, Malacca remained an institutional prototype: a paradigm of statecraft and a point of cultural reference for successor states such as Johor Sultanate (1528–present), Perak Sultanate (1528–present), Pahang Sultanate (1470–present), Siak Sri Indrapura Sultanate (1725–1946), Pelalawan Sultanate (1725–1946) and Riau-Lingga Sultanate (1824–1911).
Across the South China Sea in the 14th century, another Malay realm, the Bruneian Empire was on the rise to become the most powerful polity in Borneo. By the middle of the 15th century, Brunei entered into a close relationship with the Malacca Sultanate. The sultan married a Malaccan princess, adopted Islam as the court religion, and introduced an efficient administration modelled on Malacca. Brunei profited from trade with Malacca but gained even greater prosperity after the great Malay port was conquered by the Portuguese in 1511. It reached its golden age in the mid-16th century when it controlled land as far south as present day Kuching in Sarawak, north towards the Philippine Archipelago. The empire broadened its influence in Luzon by defeating Datu Gambang of the Kingdom of Tondo and by founding a satellite state, Kota Seludong in present-day Manila, setting up the Muslim Rajah, Rajah Sulaiman I as a vassal to the Sultanate of Brunei. Brunei also expanded its influence in Mindanao, Philippines when Sultan Bolkiah married Leila Macanai, the daughter of the Sultan of Sulu. However, states like the kingdom of Pangasinan, Rajahnate of Cebu and Kedatuan of Madja-as tried to resist Brunei's and Islam's spread into the Philippines. Brunei's fairly loose river based governmental presence in Borneo projected the process of Malayisation. Fine Malay Muslim cultures, including the language, dress and single-family dwelling were introduced to the natives primarily from ethnic Dayaks, drawing them into the Sultanate. Dayak chiefs were incorporated into the Malay hierarchy, being given the official titles of Datuk, Temenggong and Orang Kaya. In West Borneo, the development of such sultanates of Sarawak, Sambas, Sukadana and Landak tells a similar tale of recruitment among Dayak people.
Other significant Malay sultanates were the Kedah Sultanate (1136–present), Kelantan Sultanate (1411–present), Patani Sultanate (1516–1771), Reman Kingdom (1785–1909) and Legeh Kingdom (1755–1902) that dominated the northern part of the Malay Peninsula. Jambi Sultanate (1460–1907), Palembang Sultanate (1550–1823) and Indragiri Sultanate (1298–1945) controlled much of the southeastern shores of Sumatra. Deli Sultanate (1632–1946), Serdang Sultanate (1728–1948), Langkat Sultanate (1568–1948) and Asahan Sultanate (1630–1948) governed eastern Sumatra. While West Borneo observed the rise of Pontianak Sultanate (1771–1950), Mempawah Sultanate (1740–1950) and Matam Sultanate (1590–1948).
Between 1511 and 1984, numerous Malay kingdoms and sultanates fell under direct colonisation or became the protectorates of different foreign powers, from European colonial powers like Portuguese, Dutch and British, to regional powers like Aceh, Siam and Japan. In 1511, the Portuguese Empire captured the capital city of the Malacca Sultanate. The victorious Portuguese however, were unable to extend their political influence beyond the fort of Malacca. The Sultan maintained his overlordship on the lands outside Malacca and established the Johor Sultanate in 1528 to succeed Malacca. Portuguese Malacca faced several unsuccessful retaliation attacks by Johor until 1614, when the combined forces of Johor and the Dutch Empire, ousted the Portuguese from the peninsula. As per agreement with Johor in 1606, the Dutch later took control of Malacca.
Historically, Malay states of the peninsula had hostile relations with the Siamese. The Malacca Sultanate Itself fought two wars with the Siamese while the northern Malay states came intermittently under Siamese dominance for centuries. In 1771, the Kingdom of Siam under the new Chakri dynasty abolished the Patani Sultanate and later annexed a large part of Kedah Sultanate. Earlier, the Siamese under Ayutthaya Kingdom have had already absorbed Tambralinga and overrun the Singgora Sultanate in the 17th century. Between 1808 and 1813, the Siamese imposed a new administrative structure and created the semi-independent Malay kingdoms of Patani, Saiburi, Nongchik, Yaring, Yala, Reman and Rangae from Greater Patani and similarly obtained Rundung, Kupa, Tongkah, Terang while carving Setul, Langu, Perlis, Kubang Pasu from the Kedah Kingdom in 1839. In 1902, the Siamese stripped the political powers of all the 7 kingdoms of Patani following a planned revolt for independence against the central government. The coup de grâce was cultivated by 1906, when the Siamese redraw the border of the Patani territories and installed a new governance and administrative system.
In 1786, the island of Penang was leased to East India Company by Kedah Sultanate in exchange of military assistance against the Siamese. In 1819, the company also acquired Singapore from Johor Empire, later in 1824, Dutch Malacca from the Dutch, followed by Dindings from Perak by 1874 and finally Labuan from Brunei in 1886. All these trading posts officially known as Straits Settlements in 1826 and became the crown colony of British Empire in 1867. Additionally, the Straits Settlements would also encompass the Indian Ocean islands of Christmas Island and the Cocos Islands in 1886. British intervention in the affairs of Malay states was formalised in 1895, when Malay rulers accepted British Residents in administration, and the Federated Malay States was formed. In 1909, Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu and Perlis were handed over by Siam to the British. These states along with Johor, later became known as Unfederated Malay States. During the World War II, all these British possessions and protectorates that collectively known as British Malaya were occupied by the Empire of Japan.
The twilight of the vast Bruneian Empire began during the Castille War against the Spanish conquistadors who arrived in the Philippines from Mexico. The war resulted in the end of the empire's dominance in the present-day Philippine Archipelago. The decline further culminated in the 19th century, when the Sultanate lost most of its remaining territories in Borneo to the White Rajahs of Sarawak, North Borneo Chartered Company and its lower Borneo vassals to Dutch East India Company. Brunei was a British protectorate from 1888 to 1984.
Following the Anglo-Dutch Treaty of 1824 which divided the Malay Archipelago into a British zone in the north and a Dutch zone in the south, all Malay sultanates in Sumatra and Southern Borneo became part of the Dutch East Indies. Though some of Malay sultans maintain their power under Dutch control, some were abolished by the Dutch government under the accusation of retaliation against the colonial rule, like the case of Palembang Sultanate in 1823, Jambi Sultanate in 1906 and Riau Sultanate in 1911.
In the late 19th century, Germany was aiming to gain a foothold in the Malay Peninsula. They have made a repeated request to Siam on acquiring Langkawi as a naval base, with a possible expansion to the islands of Butong and Teretak since 1899. The plan was largely derived under the scheme of the German Grand Admiral, Alfred von Tirpitz who envisioned Langkawi as a vital-base for Berlin's worldwide submarine cable network. Langkawi was perceived to be ideal, due to its deep natural harbour and a suitable geographical location, between the German Kiautschou Bay in China and its colonies in the Pacific on one side, and German East Africa on the other. The island is also desired as it can act as a point of assembly and restocking for its warship during the times of war. A foothold in Langkawi would also guaranteed a further commercial interest to German private investors to cater the needs of port, a coaling station and the future naval base.
In October 1899, Behn, Meyer & Co acting on behalf of the German colonial government approached the Rajah Muda (Crown Prince) of Kedah to lease the island for 50 years with the sum of 60,000 dollars, as the sultan was ill and unable to attend the meeting. By November 1899, the "Deutsche Uebersee-Gesellschaft" (German Overseas Association) was formed by the German trading and shipping company in order to provide loan amounting to 1,000,000 marks to the sultanate. Nonetheless, the plan has come to a major halt, as the application was dismissed by the Kingdom of Siam. The dismissal was largely derived from the Secret Siamese Treaty of 1897, that has required the consent of the British in order for Siam to lease its territory. The crown prince of Kedah was later summoned to Bangkok by Prince Damrong and was warned not to release any concession to other foreign powers without the agreement of Siam.
A further bid by German was allegedly occurred in 1900, when Germany was purported to have approached the Sultan of Trang & Palien on the possibility of acquiring Pulau Lontar, an island located north of Langkawi. Although this report was dismissed by Prince Dewawongse of Siam
The prospect of a German annexation of the northern peninsula and the potential of its involvement for a commercial canal or railway network across the Isthmus of Kra, posed a serious threat to the British economic interest and political dominance in the region. Severely alarmed, the British and the Siamese entered the Anglo-Siamese Treaty of 1909, partitioning the peninsula between the British and the Siamese jurisdiction.
The Anglo-Siamese Treaty attested that the Siamese to control the upper portion of the peninsular while the lower region was to be held under the British dominance. The British originally planned for the inclusion of Reman, Legeh and Setul under their dominion together with a cluster of northern Malay states. Nonetheless, they only managed to secure Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu and Perlis under the agreement. The treaty also witnessed the state of Kedah being reduced the most, with Tarutao, Butang islands groups, Sendawa, Langgu and the principality of Setul were all being divorced into the Siamese hands, a similar fate was also followed in northeastern coast of Kelantan that was demanded to renounced their right on the Tabal district, including Sungai Golok and Sungai Padi; while Perlis lost its Pujoh district. Then-British controlled Federated Malay State of Perak however, saw an enlargement of their land area, with southern territories of Reman being transferred into the state and additionally Kelantan received Jeli from Legeh (which had been under Siamese jurisdiction since 1902). The Siamese then abdicated Tunku Baharuddin, the King of Setul, the sole Malay kingdom remained under Siamese territory in 1916. The treaty nonetheless, manage to seal the fate of the Malay states of Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu and Perlis to retain a degree of their sovereign powers under the British colonial government, a legacy that can be witnessed today in the Malaysian administrative system.
Later during the Japanese occupation of the Dutch East Indies, British Malaya and Borneo, the Japanese maintained a favourable relationship with the Sultans and other Malay leaders, this is partially composed to foster the trust of the Malay public that was generally loyal towards the sultan. Nonetheless, in a series of massacres known as Pontianak incidents, the Japanese assassinated virtually all of the West Kalimantan Malay sultans, including a large numbers of Malay intelligentsias after they have been falsely accused of planning an uprising and coup d'etat against the Japanese. It was believed that West Kalimantan took two generations to recover from the near-total collapse of the Malay ruling class in the territory.
The earliest and most influential instruments of Malay national awakening were the periodicals which politicised the position of the Malays in the face of colonialism and alien immigration of non-Malays. In spite of repressions imposed by the British colonial government, there were no less than 147 journals and newspapers published in Malaya between 1876 and 1941. Among notable periodicals were Al-Imam (1906), Pengasuh (1920), Majlis (1935) and Utusan Melayu (1939). The rise of Malay nationalism was largely mobilised by three nationalist factions — the radicals distinguishable into the Malay left and the Islamic group which were both opposed to the conservative elites.
The Malay and Malayness has been the fundamental basis for Malay ideology and Malay nationalism in Malaysia. All three Malay nationalist factions believed in the idea of a Bangsa Melayu ('Malay Nation') and the position of Malay language, but disagreed over the role of Islam and Malay rulers. The conservatives supported Malay language, Islam and Malay monarchy as constituting the key pillars of Malayness, but within a secular state that restricted the political role of Islam. The leftists concurred with the secular state but wanted to end feudalism, whereas the Islamic group favoured ending royalty but sought a much larger role of Islam.
Since the foundation of the Republic of Indonesia as a unitary state in 1950, all traditional Malay monarchies in Indonesia were abolished, and the Sultans positions reduced to titular heads or pretenders. The violent demise of the sultanates of Deli, Langkat, Serdang, Asahan and other Malay principalities in East Sumatra during the "Social revolution" of 1946 orchestrated by the Communist Party of Indonesia, drastically influenced their Malayan counterparts and politically motivating them against the PKMM's ideal of Greater Indonesia and the Islamists' vision of Islamic Republic.
In March 1946, UMNO emerged with the full support of the Malay sultans from the Conference of Rulers. The new movement forged a close political link between rulers and subjects never before achieved. It generated an excited Malay public opinion which, together with the surprising political apathy of the non-Malays, led to Britain's abandonment of the radical Malayan Union plan. By July, UMNO succeeded in obtaining an agreement with the British to begin negotiations for a new constitution. Negotiations continued from August to November, between British officials on the one hand, and the Sultans' representatives and UMNO and the other.
Two years later the semi independent Federation of Malaya was born. The new constitutional arrangement largely reverted to the basic pattern of pre-war colonial rule and built on the supremacy of the individual Malay states. Malay rights and privileges were safeguarded. The traditional Malay rulers thus retained their prerogatives, while their English-educated descendants came to occupy positions of authority at the centre, which was being progressively decolonised. In August 1957, the Federation of Malaya, the West's last major dependency in Southeast Asia, attained independence in a peaceful transfer of power. The federation was reconstituted as Malaysia with the addition in 1963 of Singapore (separated in 1965), Sabah and Sarawak.

Culture: Typical qualification that all people groups can't be summed up in small paragraphs and this is an over generalization.
The Malay of Peninusular Malaysia are seen in many levels of society. There are urban Malay who are well educated and hold white collar or government positions, and there are rural Malay who may or may not pursue higher learning and typically occupy jobs such as farming, trading, and fishing. While rural Malay men often wear traditional dress such as a cloth wrap-around skirt, urban Malay men tend to blend into a western setting with their blue jeans, cell phones, and Polo shirts.
While many Malay are now building modern homes, there are still numerous traditional homes within the kampung or village in which Malay people reside. Traditional homes are large in order to have sufficient space for the extended family as custom allows for many generations to reside under one roof. Although the Malay society has undergone a number of social and political changes through education and urbanization, their value orientation is still very much influenced by community. The Malay are a very social people and dependence upon community is considered normal and healthy. Often families will live within close proximity to one another so that help from relatives is easily attained. Kenduri (or party) is a social occasion for an entire community. The main characteristic in traditional Malay cuisine is undoubtedly the generous use of spices. The coconut milk is also important in giving the Malay dishes their rich, creamy character. The other foundation is belacan (shrimp paste), which is used as a base for sambal, a rich sauce or condiment made from belacan, chillies, onions and garlic. Malay cooking also makes plentiful use of lemongrass and galangal.
