Creation of the Realms
In the beginning there where two beings one of Light and one of Dark Aether one represented Creation and the other Destruction, both of these entities created the Realms of Draakana and Avalar which would become the homes of various species but especially Dragons which where created by the beings to bring forth magic into the realms. However they also created one specific Dragon a purple one that would be able to control all elements including Aether itself, this purple Dragon and all the ones that would follow would protect the Realms and bring an era of change either whether good or bad was up for the Dragon themselves to decide.
The Banishment of the Dragons
Formerly the Dragons lived in what is now known as the Forgotten Realms it was here where their species truly flourished, they build much of realms infrastructure and brought an era of peace across all species in these lands. It was during these times when the connection with Avalar was first founded and both realms entered an age of progress, however eventually a certain Sorceress grew to resent the Dragons believing them to hoard all the magic for themselves and banished them to the other side of the world, and with this the magic across the Forgotten Realms would slowly fade away over time with the portal that led to Avalar being the first to close.
The Founding of the Dragon Realms
When the Dragons awoke in the land they found themselves in they slowly but surely recreated their new home on the Island which would eventually become Dreamweavers. However this Island would eventually become to small for their civilization, and one brave Sea Dragon would set out to find a new home for her and her children. And after a long and exhausting swim she found land but after dragging herself to shore she collapsed and passed away her children would become the first inhabitans of what is now known as Dragon Shores, with the other Dragons following soon after.
The events of the OG trilogy happen
A thousand years after the Dragons have made their home in the new Realms a new purple Dragon was born who became known as Spyro, and whilst Spyro was mostly a thrill seeking young Dragon who didn't care about things such as destiny he would through his adventures bring the Realms into a new age of peace and prosperity. His story began when a creature known as Gnasty Gnorc who after causing much mischief across the Realms because he felt that he didn't fit in with the other creatures, with him having a particular interest in learing magic this caused the Dragons to eventually banish him to the Junkyard which Gnasty build his own kingdom in with him creating othe Gnorcs out of the stolen treasures of the Dragons.
Now Gnasty Always had plans to one day return to the Dragon Realms and take it for himself but after being insulted on live television he decided to put that plan into action now, and with one devasting hit of magic all the Dragons where turned into statues except for Spyro who didn't know it at the time but his ties to Aether had protected him from Gnasty's magic. After this Spyro would go about his first adventure freeing all the Dragons and collecting their stolen gems and eggs all ending with him torching Gnasty, of course Spyro didn't cause any permanent harm to him just enough to hopefully teach him a lesson
Sortly after Spyro's first adventure he found himself into a new mess, having brought to the Realms of Avalar which has been taking over by a small creature called Ripto nobody fully knows where Ripto has come from, perhaps a realm far away from both Draakana and Avalar but seeing how he has a hatred for Dragons it shows that he lives in a place near them. It is during this adventure that Spyro starts to take his role as a purple Dragon more serious whether unintional or not, with him bringing the various warring races of Avalar together and bringing peace across the lands and eventually leading to both Avalar and Draakana re-establishing contact. This adventure eventually ending in him defeating Ripto (or so it seems) and getting the vacation he wanted in the first place.
And now Spyro's last adventure of the og trilogy atleast, after a Thousand years of the magic slowly disapearing in the Forgotten Realms the Sorceress also notices that the magic she uses to keep herself alive is fading as well, with the signs of aging apearing across her body. Not just this but the portals across the Realms are shutting off one by one which would cause trouble for her dominion over the lands, she eventually caught wind of a young dragons adventures and learns where the Dragons have choosen to live after she banished them, and send her apprentice Bianca to steal their eggs, with Bianca believing that she wanted to bring the Dragons back to the Forgotten Realms to bring the magic back. Of course it was Spyro's job to get the Eggs back together with Hunter who choose to travel with Spyro to the Dragon Realms after his adventure in Avalar, and much like before Spyro would help the inhabitans of the Forgotten Realms and thanks to his Aether magic the longer he stays in the Realms the more the magic came back.
A short while into their adventure Hunter and Bianca would start to interact and would begin to catch feelings for eachother, much to the chagrin of Spyro which to be fair if your best friend felt in love with somebody who kidnapped the babies of your species you would not be happy either. But luckily for Spyro after Bianca learned that what the Sorceress plan is for the baby Dragons she would start to help Spyro and Hunter, and eventually Spyro would defeat the Sorceress once in her castle and later for good in the super bonus round.
After this the Forgotten Realms restablished contact with the Dragon Realms and became known as the United Realms under Bianca's leadership, it was also after this that the portal to Avalar was permantly openend only in the United Realms instead of the Dragon Realms thanks to the Professor having to go of old tomes, of course this was easily remedied when the Dragons gave the proper coordinates. This resulted in the cultural exchange between all Realms and a large group of Avalarians to move to Draakana, who created the Valley of New Avalar or just the Valley of Avalar as most called it.
What came after
Most of the events that happenend after the Forgotten Realms are of minor note, such as Spyro freeing the Fairylands from Grendor and saving the Dragonflies twice with the second time being caused by Ripto. The one thing of note with this even is that Spyro started to experiment with a different element mainly bubble breath, which he got access to thanks to Bianca who uncovered runes from the old dragon civilization it is even believed that these runes where created by the first Purple Dragon.
And now we get to the interesting bits, an elder by the name of Red got corrupted by the Sorcerer to plant Dark Gems (which another Dark Master would use later), in order to drain the land of Magic. And whilst Spyro would of course defeat Red the Sorcerer was in the meantime looking into the origins of Aether and the Purple Dragon, this let him to the Shadow Realm a place beyond creation. And after the defeat of Red he set his plan into motion to tap into these Shadow Realms by releasing the Calamity, which trapped everyone from Draakana and Avalar in the Shadow Realm whilst also draining them of their magic, it is also thanks to his meddling with Dark Aether that resulted in his Purple scales. And whilst Spyro would defeat him just like any other villain before hand the Calamity would have had irreparable damage to the world such as the formation of the Ancient Grove a poisonous forest that corrupts all that enter it. And it even changed the nature of the Purple Dragon.
The Age of Malefor
After an unknown amount of time Spyro would grow older and more powerfull having returned to his home of Artisans but some noticed that he would start to behave oddly, he would start to become more and more obsessed with Aether and other elements and eventually fell to the temptations of Dark Aether. This let him to be exiled and he eventually found himself in a place where Dark Aether was most abundant a place that would eventually become the well of souls. If only the Elders had paid attention to Spyro they would have noticed the weird glow in his eyes, and the fact that it looked as if there was something missing. This now soulless husk that was once the Hero of the Realms completely taken over by Dark Aether now dubbed himself Malefor the Dark Master, and he let a campaign of terror against his own kind, destroying the Artisans homeworld leaving it as a useless ruins that got covered up by the ground only to be rediscovered in the future and be renamed as the Ruins of Warfang. The same happenend to the Dream Weavers which Malefor let fall to the ground destroying the landscape and distorting it with runaway magic. Together with his Ape army he waged war agains all other Realms, using the improved Dark Gems now known as Dark Crystals to drain magic of both Dragons and other creatures to fuel his army and ambitions. Luckily for the rest of the world the Dragon Elders and Spyro's old friends managed to corner Malefor and trap him in the Shadow Realms or atleast his Essence, whilst the evil force that has taken his souls place was trapped in the well of Souls.
The Legend begins
Despite Malefor being trapped the damage was still done, much of the world was without magic and the portals became useless, not just that but many started to mistrust Dragons thanks to the ongoing war and many dragons have been killed during the war. But all would change when a new Purple Dragon would be born, who would for some reason insist on being called Spyro not even he knows why. After an attack from the apes on his home with the Dragonflies Spyro learns he isn't one of them and sets out to find where he belongs. It was at this moment that the found Ignitus the Dragon that was task with gaurding the eggs all those years ago, and after learning his name he was of course suprised but the decided to keep it to himself. After their meeting Spyro and Ignitus would retake the Temple and set out to save the othe Gaurdians from Cynder, with him traveling to the Elemental islands which cumulated in him ending up saving Ignitus in the ruins of Dreamweavers now known as the Concurrent Skies, it was here where Spyro learned about Cynders past and followed her to Convexity the place where the Dragon Realms and the Shadow Realms meet. And where Spyro and Cynder fought and whilst Spyro did defeat and save Cynder from her corruption but Malefor's essence is freed from the Shadow Realm, since then Cynder lived with Spyro and the Gaurdians at the Temple but what she has done under Malefors control still haunts her.
A couple of weeks later the Eternal Night approaches an event where the two celestial moons would eclipse and allow spirits to wander the Well of Souls, Spyro would be sent out to stop the Ape king Gaul and to find Cynder who fled the Dragon Temple thanks to her guilt, with spyro also having been tasked with finding the chronicler who has been contacting Spyro in his dreams. Spyros first stop would be the Ancient Grove a large forest that was corrupted by Dark Aether during the Calamity that at this point happenend centuries ago, and is gaurded by Arborik a large tree golem that was created by Malefor as an artificial soldier. But after Spyro defeated him he was kidnapped by a group of pirates and forced into an arena, it was during this time he got a letter addressed by Hunter of Avalar and had a short reunion with Cynder before Gauls forces attacked the pirates and kidnapped her, Spyro used the distraction to escape the pirates but during is flight away from the ship he fell unconscious thanks to the Chronicler, only to be saved by a leviathan who brought him to the shores of the White Isle.
The White Isle is an ancient Island that houses all of Dragon knowledge and is believed to have been created since the beginning of time, with the first Chronicler being also the first Purple Dragon. After Spyro met the Chronicler he told him that he led Spyro here to wait out Malefors return, but after Spyro learned that this would cause Cynder to return to Malefors control he choose to go to the Well of Souls to stop him there and then. And after a long battle on his way to the top and a fight against Gaul who incapacitated Cynder Spyro would fall in the energy beam that sat at the center of the arena, which caused Dark Aether to start corrupting the young Dragon much like it had done before with his previous life. And after this newly formed "Dark Spyro" gave Gaul the finishing blow he flew up to Cynder and Sparx who where horrified to see what had become of Spyro, with Cynder tackling Spyro out of the Energy beam which luckily turned him back to normal. But the Well of Souls started to collapse around them thanks to Malefors return, so Spyro would use his Dragon time ability to freeze them into a large crystal and protect them from the collapsing mountain.
During this three years would pass and during those years Malefor would cause even more damage to the world, first he corrupted the apes into shadowy monsters because he felt that they only followed him for power instead of loyalty, and then he destroyed the magic Crafters homeworld turning it into the Burned Lands whilst raising the ancient temples high up into the skies. After this he sent out his new artificial soldiers out to attack the Realms and used Dark Crystals to once again drain the lands of magic. At the end of those three years Hunter would finally find Spyro and Cynder only to be beaten by Malefors forces who took them to the catacombs which at some point where known as the Celestial Plains, both Spyro and Cynder would wake up at this place and fight their way out of it and finally meet up with Hunter who explained that he was sent out by Ignitus after Spyro didn't return to the temple, as well as the three years that they where absent.
After this they join him and travel to Warfang after a quick disagreement in the Valley of Avalar, a name that for some reason sound familiar to Spyro they found themselves in Warfang, right in the middle of a seige by Malefors army. And after Spyro and Cynder fight themselves through he city and defeat the giant lava golem they reunite with Ignitus, with Cynder asking if they could do something about the magic chains that keep Spyro and Cynder trapped together only to learn much to her annoyance that there is nothing they could do about it. After a short celebration of their victory malefor would announce the return of the Destroyer who would created the belt of fire that will destroy all life on the planet, so Spyro and Cynder would go through the Ruins of Warfang which housed the leftovers of Artisans and open the gate for the Gaurdians and other Dragons to ambush the destroyer in the valley.
After making their way to the valley they noticed that the Destroyer moved to quickly to catch up to them, only for Cynder to suggest to blow the Dam so that the water would slow it down. And so they did after which they destroyed the Dark Crystals that controlled the beast including the ones on the inside, but before they could celebrate Malefor reanimated it with his dark powers this let Ignitus with no choice but to take Spyro and Cynder through the now weaker belt of fire to confront Malefor head on, whilst sending the other Gaurdians to help the other inhabitants to hide underground far away from the surface. However even with Ignitus being an fire Gaurdian the flames eventually overtake him and with his last powers sents Spyro and Cynder through the belt killing him in the progress, this leaves Spyro distraught and he lets the darkness overtake him luckily for him Cynder is there to remind him that he's not alone. And both race through the Burned Lands and the Floating Isle's to confront Malefor before it is to late.
After finally making their way to Malefor the two Purple Dragons finally meet, with Malefor starting to create doubts in both Spyro and Cynder which allows him to sortly retake control of Cynder. During this Malefor would start to taunt Spyro leaving some hints about how they're the same, something Spyro would mistake as meaning something else and he almost gave up completely believing he had failed to protect Cynder, Ignitus and the others. This allowed Cynder to break free, and Malefor to fly in a fit of rage with the battle for the fate of the world finally beginning.
At first they battled high above the volcano but after the Destroyer finally entered it the planet started to break apart, and the fight went on in the same Volcano and the falling Temple that Malefor called home. With them eventually making their way to the core of the Planet, which was made from solid Aether, and with both sides giving one last Aether attack with Spyro and Cynder finally overtaking Malefor he falls on the Crystal and the Light Aether spirits take Malefor away, and hopefully destroying the Dark Spirit that had taken over the old Spyro's body all those centuries ago. But this wasn't the end yet because even with Malefor gone the world was still falling apart, and Spyro saw one last option telling Cynder to leave to life another day for he might not make it out this time, but Cynder choose to stay by Spyro's side and with one last use of Dragon time now amplified by Light Aether, and Cynders declaration of love Spyro stopped the world from falling apart creating a new era for the survivors.
And that's where our story ends the world now exists as a group of floating islands hold together by magic which finally started to really return, and Ignitus became the new Chronicler who started to look where Spyro and Cynder ended up, seeing how they're not in the book of dead dragons. What happens after this is anyones guess, maybe a new Purple Dragon would be born who would protect these newly formed Skylands.

I, 14f, met this guy, 16m, after moving to a new school. I really liked him, I’d even use the word love if it wasn’t for the fact we had only been talking for at least two months. He admitted to liking me back and I assumed that he was telling the truth. He was my first kiss, first guy to hug me, the first guy to hold hands with me, and we were getting pretty serious I guess, but never became an offical couple or anything. I met his family, as well as his bsf and their parents too. And after awhile, we decided to hang out for the first time.
My dad was out for two weeks as usual for work, and we had the place to ourselves. His mum dropped him off at the IGA that was nearby my house. She assumed we’d be talking and walking around the neighbourhood the entire two hours we’d be together. We got food from the store then walked back to mine. We had planned to hang out days before, and I suggested we could watch horror movies and cuddle, or even bake and make TikToks, like normal teenager stuff. But as soon as we walked through the front and door and into the kitchen, he started to kiss my neck and move his hands into my pants. I guess I kinda froze for a few seconds and stood there before eventually grabbing his hand out of my leggings. I have a tendency to laugh and smile In situations that make me nervous, so I just said that we should slow down maybe, because we only just got inside. And made a joke asking “what happened to just watching movies??”
A little backstory - we had spoken sexually before and we both wanted to have sex and explore all of that stuff at some point, but at the time when he was in my house and touching me like that, I was scared. He’s had a lot of previous experience with sex and a lot of exs as well as former talking stages. But I had never had much contact with any men other than my dad, so I was afraid. I was okay with kissing and hugging but, he continued to put his hand back into my pants when I tried getting him to stop. He was like rubbing against my cl1t, and even then I didn’t feel any excitement down there, it was just all too weird for me. I told him I was nervous, that I wasn’t ready for that yet, and that i was scared. I kept saying that over and over again. But I guess I just let it happen because I wasn’t speaking firmly enough. I didn’t tell him no, and he already had condoms so I felt saying anything would make the next hours really awkward for the both of us.
We ended up upstairs on my bed, we were kissing, not making out. I don’t even know how to and he kept asking to try. It was really akward for me doing it but I liked him a lot so I was willing to try what he wanted. He ended sticking my hand into his pants to feel that he was hard, that was pretty weird for me because all of this was so new and different then what I expected it was going to be like. I wasn’t horny or anything, if anything I just felt too scared to feel sexually excited at that point. He ended up noticing I was shaking and asked why and i explained I was afraid and still wasn’t sure if I was ready. He kept telling me it was going to be okay, and eventually I just tried my best to enjoy it.
The intimacy was horrible, even though it was my first, I knew it was pretty bad. I never ended up finishing and I just wasn’t feeling much down there. It just hurt really bad. I kept my underwear on for the first half because I have an outie and I’m insecure of how it looks. He said I could leave it on if I wanted too, but I think he was getting abit frustrated by it so I took it off. I froze for abit then after a while I tried moaning and went along with other positions to get him to feel good, but it really wasn’t working. He was really rough, at some point during the sex, he wanted me to give him head. I agreed but I went really slow and didn’t really want to take the whole thing inside my mouth. So he started to to grab and pull on my hair to get me to go faster, I accidentally used teeth and had to pull back multiple times to cough while asking him to stop doing that and let me try because I couldn’t really breath. He kept doing it even thought I had to slap his hand away multiple times to tell him to stop, even though he didn’t.
I’m not sure if any of that counted as a SA or not, I dont think I was ready and didn’t really want it in the first place if I’m being honest. But eventually I thought it’d be too awkward for me to say anything. Plus I really liked him, and I wanted him to like me. I never said no, and I don’t think I was being firm enough. During the intimacy, I told him I loved him, I held him, and we had a shower afterwards and talked for awhile before he left. I think I looked too enthusiastic for it, I think kissing back was giving my consent for all of that to happen, and that not saying anything made all of this okay. I definitely blame myself for being to scared to stop it.
He ended up leaving me afterwards, saying I was too needy and that he didn’t like my outie and called it roast beef and kebab flaps. Apparently he prefers them to be tight and bubblegum pink. He told me I was just a free trial and to get lost and even sent me death threats. We had a huge argument and I kinda cried for weeks, since it was school break, I wouldn’t leave my bed because I felt so betrayed. I really liked the guy, and he knew how scared I was to lose my virginity to a person who didn’t deserve it. He was my first for everything and he never even liked me. He spread rumours about me and my body and school, and now his friends call me a root n boot when I walk by. I wish I never spoke to him in the first place.

Hello everyone,
I am a biologist currently researching the influence of noise pollution on metabolic profiles in people. As part of my study, I need to gather data on noise levels at specific addresses. My goal is to correlate the decibel levels that individuals are exposed to during the day and night with their metabolic profiles.
Here’s what I’m aiming to achieve:

1. Identify a method or source to obtain noise pollution data for specific addresses. Ideally, this data would provide the decibel levels for both daytime and nighttime.
2. Compile this data into an Excel file where each row corresponds to an address and includes the respective noise levels.

I am relatively new to data analysis and programming, so I would greatly appreciate it if someone could provide a tutorial or guidance on how to accomplish this. If the process is not too complex, I would love to learn and do it myself. Any tips on relevant free tools, websites, APIs, or datasets would be incredibly helpful.

I launched my firm as a solo outfit on April 15, 2024 and I've been at it for one month. Here's a status update for everyone.

How I'm Doing

Overall it feels like it's going well for only being a month in. I was lucky enough to get a few people/cases to follow me from my last job and I think my job was largely grateful that I took most of the cases I did (a lot were difficult, low dollar, and non-paying clients too close to trial to get another attorney up to speed). Overall, these have kept me pretty busy. Though I feel like I've barely stopped working and I've tracked more (billable and non-billable) time than I ever have before, I don't feel as overwhelmed as I did in a firm. Not sure if that's because my motivation has changed or what but it's felt good to feel better.

How I'm Doing It

I was able to hit the ground running thanks to the cases I took and the advice of the Law Firm Incubator (firmincubator.com). Now that most of those cases are either done or at a stopping point, it feels like things have slowed down and I've focused more on marketing and scalability. I've been fighting with Google for at least a month to get my business verified so I can start running local services ads. While I wait, I signed up for a few local bar associations and referral programs. I am not using things like LegalMatch or Lawyer dot com for referrals--they're a bit too expensive for my budget and it seems local services ads will be a better use of my limited money (more on that below).

Revenue

My planned initial investment was $10,000.
So far I've generated revenue of about $2,100, of which Clio pay has taken their 2.0%. In terms of billable work, so far I've tracked billable time of $25,000.
So far I've spent about $12,000 prepaying rent in a cheap space, getting equipment, signing up for zoom that allows meetings longer than 45 minutes, paying for Clio, office supplies, tech, etc. Renting a space is easily my biggest cost (at $4,200/year, you read that right) but it's worth it to me to have a one-room office where I can meet with clients instead of having to either meet with clients at my house or over lunch. Privacy is nice! I'm keeping expenses down as much as possible but I always feel like I could be doing better.

Best Part

Freedom. An opposing counsel (who's been solo since 2010) called me after filing my first notice of appearance and said "Congratulations, there's nothing like it." I still work 8-5:30 or later but I get to wear PJs if I feel like it. And though I've worked harder than ever, it feels more one-to-one than it ever has in my career.

Worst Part

Revenue has so far not come in. That's a bummer. Fighting with Google and all the admin shit (and it is shit) that eats into billable time have been a pain. Having no fallbacks (admin staff, supervisors) is tough but I was actually kind of used to that from my old firm. If anything this is actually an improvement. There have been a couple of days where I bill maybe 1 hour of actual billable time and the rest is marketing and admin stuff. I also did not generate any potential client leads at all until Tuesday of this week (for future reference it's Thursday when I'm writing this).

Marketing

I'm handling all of my own marketing right now. Writing blog posts, posting on LinkedIn, and reconnecting with all of my friends and study buddies from law school. As I mentioned, I'm also doing bar association referrals and networking events. I'm still fighting with Google to get my business verified so I can run local services ads. ("All you need is a phone number!" my ass.) So far I've generated three "organic" potential client leads in my first month, and all came in since Tuesday of this week: one is a friend, one is from a law school classmate referral, and one is from a local bar association.

Other Considerations

I've got 4 and 1/2 years experience in a medium cost of living area, practicing civil litigation (generalist: contracts, contested probate, boundary lines, etc.) and business transactional law. I was able to snag a bunch of clients to keep my lights on and I saved up. I had three scheduled trials right off the bat. I don't think my results are typical so far based on that but I think they're definitely achievable and, if you're lucky enough to snag paying clients right off the bat you can do even better than I am.

Hello Dgg. So, I have been arguing I/P with a freind of mine, on off for a week or so, and are now both sending each other walls of texts back and forth every few days when we get an hour free each. Now I know this isn't right. I've seen the Israeli spokespeople saying "Israel has not bombed hospitals" I've looked into it myself and come away with the impression that Israel isn't bombing hospitals, that this is an overblown narrative. So I look at her, then look at my sheckles, and now back at her thinking about how much easier my life would be if I just let the point go and move on, and i look back at my sheckles. And deliver my lines like a good Hasbara agent.
But I was going to source it this time (full text and sources below). This was done in about 30 minutes so I probably missed things - though it largely fits with my impression made when I did look into it deeper. So I call on DGG, to form both a blue and red team to decide once and for all "has Israel been bombing hospitals in Gaza?"

At about 6:30pm (16:30 GMT), Israeli warplanes hit the area between the Psychiatric Hospital and the Rantisi hospital wounding 35 people, including some of the medical staff. Two hours later, the Rantisi hospital was hit as well as its southeast and northeast sides.
This article also says that the medical complex has 4 hospitals that suffered direct and indirect hits from Israeli missiles but only reports any details regarding the "war planes" hitting between 2 of the hospitals. Which is not how I'd expect it to be reported if they had any evidence of a targeted bombing campaign on the hospital itself

They have at time struck hospital grounds and near hospitals but tge deadliest attack to date on a hospital has cone from a misfire PIJ Rocket which indicates Israel is not targeting civilians in hospitals. What's wrong, or missing from this analysis, and what evidence do you have against it?

My situation is: I have a Windows 10 desktop (IKR, a desktop in 2024?!?!?!) on which I run Citrix Workspace to connect to a VDI workstation in my employer's network.
I also run, on my PC, a macro program so that when I have to type certain things 100 times a day I can just press (for example) Ctrl-F12 instead. This configuration has been working fine for years.
Recently, not coinciding with any update, etc. I'm aware of, any macros using the Alt key stopped working. The Alt- ones don't work at all, Ctrl-Alt- macros do whatever the Ctrl- macros does.
All macros work on my PC, whether I'm connected to the VDI or not. I know the Alt key is recognized in the VDI because in Notepad the top menu items' first letter displays as underlined when Alt is pressed, and in Excel when editing a cell pressing Alt-Enter behaves correctly.
ANY guesses as to what may be going on, or what changed, or what I can try to get back to normal? I have rebooted the VDI and my desktop multiple times.

As the encampment starts its fourth day at UW, the media wing of the Palestinian solidarity group issued an unexpected declaration. Alongside their ongoing efforts for justice, they have launched a new intifada (the Arabic word for uprising) — this time against body odor in UW. This surprising turn of events came after the group conducted focus groups to identify the biggest issues facing the UW community, only to discover that body odor completely topped the list.
"We were honestly surprised by the results," said spokesperson Layla Nasir. "We expected issues like high rent or how shitty WaterlooWorks is, but it turns out that body odor is a unifying concern for everyone on campus. We are committed to addressing what our people want."
This new intifada has garnered unprecedented support from all corners of the campus. Students, faculty, and even the previously adversarial Zionist groups have come together in a rare display of unity. "We might disagree on many issues," said Avi Cohen, a member of the campus Zionist organization, "but we can all agree that UW students shouldn't have to suffer through this level of funk anymore. I'm a proud supporter of this intifada."
In an extraordinary gesture, Professor David Goldstein, a fervent Zionist, announced his willingness to donate $1,000 to support the intifada. In a show of unity, participants have begun repurposing common intifada slogans for their new campaign. Chants like "Liberate our nostrils!" and "From buttcheek to buttcheek, our asses will be free and clean" can be heard all throughout campus.
"We remain committed to our original cause," Nasir emphasized, "but we recognize that to fight for justice, we must first ensure that all UW can breathe freely. This intifada is just the beginning of our comprehensive approach to liberation and peace."
As the encampment continues, only time will tell if the group's resolve can withstand the dual pressures of political activism and personal hygiene. For now, they march on, noses held high.

Being really terrible at sometimes can even be a blessing in disguise. When a situation is so bad that it causes you significant pain, you almost don't have an option not to do something about it.
The good is often the enemy of the best. If you saw your current life situation as being 'good enough,' you may have decided to simply settle for mediocrity rather than discover the amazing things available to those who take some initiative. The momentum that comes with taking action can in the end carry you much further than the average person.
The man who intensely studies and practices a subject to the point that he truly understands the fundamentals inside and out will often eventually overtake those who rely on natural talent alone.

Alakhai now understood. That impossibly strong psychic force was her sister, empowered by her own emotional instability. Alakhai knew not how to help her sister, or even if she should. Perhaps it would be best to simply put her down, give her a respite from her eternal pain. But as Alakhai approached her sister, she heard a rumbling, as if the ship was coming alive once more, and she could hear the groans of Marines, horrible groaning of the nearly dead.
Morrigan looked up to her sister, eyes wet with tears, wrapped in a soft embrace of vines and flowers that were attempting to calm her down. “Sister, I will not have you hurt my Lily. I suggest you leave. Because if you keep going, I will have no choice.” She took a deep breath, inhaling the sweet smell of her flowers, the sweet smell of her Lily.
Alakhai unsheathed her sword, and her retinue readied their weapons, prepared for a fight to the death, or near death. But they didn't stand a chance, as vines from every direction attacked them in the gaps in their armor, breaking their breathing apparatuses, forcing them to breathe the ship’s toxic air, so strong that only Death Guard marines could hope to survive. The White Fang marines began to cough, keeling over in horrible agony as they tried to hold their breath and stumble back to the clear air of the stormhawk they arrived on. Alakhai rushed to attack her sister, only for a giant tree that had grown along the wall to reach out and grapple her in its twisting branches.
Morrigan approached her sister with a startling speed, her crying face now twisted in a visage of insanity. “I told you sister; you should have left when you still had a chance. I’m afraid my Lily had to do what was necessary to protect me. The only thing I can offer your sons is an eternal slumber before the fertilization process becomes….painful. Now I may let you leave unharmed, but I need to be sure that you won't hurt my Lily again. Goodnight sister.” Morrigan blows a cloud of powder in her sister’s face, knocking her out cold.
Her sons drug her sister back to the stormhawk, and the marine inside decided they didnt want to ask any questions and left immediately. WIth her sister taken care of, Morrigan inspected the White Scars that had been infected. “Oh my, it seems your mother has abandoned you. Don't worry, I’ll make sure to water and prune you once you sprout. Now sleep, my sons.” She blew more powder in the faces of the sprouting White Scars, bringing the coughing marines to a standstill.
Now that the foray was over, Morrigan began to cry once more, her tears streaming down her face. “I’m so sorry Lily, are you hurt? Are any of our children hurt?” The walls of the ship began to enclose upon her, wrapping her tightly in a swathe of leaves and ferns. A flower wipes away her tears as the white scars marines are taken further into the ship to gestate and sleep.
“It is alright love. I am unhurt. Our children are unhurt. Now it is time for you to calm down, you need rest.” Morrigan heard in her head. Her Lily had used telepathic messages since the accident, and it was the only thing that kept her grounded in reality. The blanket of plants began to carry their Lady to her chamber, the mass swimming through halls of the derelict ship.
“I’m fine Lily, I don't have time to sleep, I must care for our children, I must care for you!” Morrigan exclaimed to the emptiness of the ship. She couldn't bear to focus on sending her own telepathic message, but she figured her Lily could hear her anywhere in the ship.
“Love, you need rest. Just for a little while, trust me. Just….relax.” Morrigan heard in her head, as the flower released the same powder that was used to put the White Scars to sleep, though more potent to have any effect on their Lady. As Morrigan’s eyelids grew heavy, the plants lay her in her bed, still wrapped around her so she could sleep soundly, knowing her Lily was still there. As long as the plants stayed wrapped around her, Morrigan could sleep for days, without nightmares. At least usually. Their proximity to the warp would greatly affect the likelihood of nightmares, whether she snuggled tightly or not.
This time was different. Despite their distance from the warp, something about their previous encounter had shaken Morrigan, and the nightmares came like a flood. Lily did their best to cradle their Lady, but there was little else they could do, their Lady had expended a lot of psychic energy during her fight with her sister, and that had undoubtedly caused something to invade her dreams.
Morrigan saw visions of world burning, the emperor stuck to the Golden Throne, the people of the Imperium stuck in a cycle of endless fanatic violence against the enemies of Mankind. This is not what she wanted. She could help them; she could give them lives free from violence. But she also didn't want to threaten her sons, or her Lily by putting them in harm's way. And as this thought passed her mind, she awoke, shaken and in cold sweats, the leaves and vines still wrapped around her like a blanket. She began to cry once more, as her Lily tried their best to soothe their Lady, trying to give them some semblance of comfort as Morrigan struggled with the reality that faced her.
Morrigan decided that she would be able to think while she worked, and kindly asked the plants to let her go, which they did. Once again, Morrigan roamed the halls, prune growths, watering buds and checking the health of her new sons, those gestating, and the White Scars taken from her battle with her sister.
Now calmed by her work, Morrigan put thought to her predicament, mumbling to herself about not putting her sons in danger, whether she could save a world on her own, or take over other ships so Lily could be safe. Resolved to act, but with the safety of her Lily in mind, Morrigan made her way to the bridge, awakening the captain, instructing him to set course for the nearest derelict ship. The captain groaned in the affirmative, steering the ship towards the intended target, the ship's sunlight engines gently taking the hulking mass into close proximity.
Over the next several days, Morrigan seeded new ships with her sons, so that they may grow to become the ships new crew, all connected by her psychic energies. WIth her fleet now in a decent shape, she directed the flight to the nearest conflict zone. She would bring humanity from the brink. She would succeed where her father had failed, where her sisters had failed. She would cultivate a new future for humanity. They would. Together.

I am supposed to graduate in 2 days. I have one last project to submit by tomorrow at 2pm and I have no idea how to do it. I also don’t really have time anymore to do it because of current circumstances. In 3 hours I have to go to my sister’s wedding. I am also in the wedding so won’t be arriving home until around midnight.
For the project I have to use a-frame/glitch (yes you probably don’t know what it is because I’m in the program and don’t even know what it is) and code an adjustment as a solution I made with a current VR existing application, take 5 testing videos of participants using my program, and then do a case study of what I did. Unfortunately, chatgpt isn’t too familiar with it so it’s no help.
This project started out as a group project and in the past couple of weeks switched over to an individual project. My partner and I were pretty lost and had no idea how to implement the solution. I’ve also emailed the professor 6 times for help and he hasn’t responded.
Yesterday, I was supposed to meet up with my partner so we can figure it out together. She came 2 hours later than she said she would and I ended up not getting much time to go over it with her because I had a final for another class. When my class was over, I went upstairs to the room she was working in and long story short, a PhD international student ended up doing the entire assignment for her so by the time my class was over she was pretty much done. I walked over to them with my laptop and before I can even say a word she completely flipped out on me and said “I’m sorry but I’ve been working on this for hours and you weren’t here so I’m not sharing my code with you” To be fair, I can admit that she carried me through 95% of this semester and did all of our work for us. However, I find it weird that she would decide to be petty when we are literally graduating this weekend and have taken 7-8 other classes together and never had a problem. I am supposed to graduate in 2 days. I have one last project to submit by tomorrow at 2pm and I have no idea how to do it. I also don’t really have time anymore to do it because of current circumstances. In 3 hours I have to go to my sister’s wedding. I am also in the wedding so won’t be arriving home until around midnight.
For the project I have to use a-frame/glitch (yes you probably don’t know what it is because I’m in the program and don’t even know what it is) and code an adjustment as a solution I made with a current VR existing application, take 5 testing videos of participants using my program, and then do a case study of what I did. Unfortunately, chatgpt isn’t too familiar with it so it’s no help.
This project started out as a group project and in the past couple of weeks switched over to an individual project. My partner and I were pretty lost and had no idea how to implement the solution. I’ve also emailed the professor 6 times for help and he hasn’t responded.
Yesterday, I was supposed to meet up with my partner so we can figure it out together. She came 2 hours later than she said she would and I ended up not getting much time to go over it with her because I had a final for another class. When my class was over, I went upstairs to the room she was working in and long story short, a PhD international student ended up doing the entire assignment for her so by the time my class was over she was pretty much done. I walked over to them with my laptop and before I can even say a word she completely flipped out on me and said “I’m sorry but I’ve been working on this for hours and you weren’t here so I’m not sharing my code with you” To be fair, I can admit that she carried me through 95% of this semester and did all of our work for us. However, I find it weird that she would decide to be petty when we are literally graduating this weekend and have taken 7-8 other classes together and never had a problem. Our Plan
We wanted to launch a memecoin on Base (Layer 2 Ethereum) because it seems to be the hot thing next to Solana lately. Memecoins typically pump a lot right after launch, and the gas fees (i.e., transaction costs) are low. If you're interested, I'll link it in the comments below. What meme suits this better than "It is Wednesday, my dudes." To make things a bit more exciting and not just have a generic token, we even wrote our own smart contract. If you can do a bit of programming, it's not a huge deal, just check out https://remix.ethereum.org/. If you import the ERC-20 standard, everything is pretty much done, and you can modify individual parts. There are also links in the comments for this.
The joke with our token is that it can only be traded on Wednesdays. On all other days, 30% of each transaction is automatically burned, meaning it is permanently deleted. We initially wanted to burn even more, but then Uniswap prohibits the transaction because the slippage is too high. It would also have been possible to completely prohibit transactions on Wednesdays, but I found it funnier this way. Explanations about Uniswap and how such decentralized exchanges (DEX) work are also in the comments.
If you want to do something like this, you need to make sure to change both the transfer() and transferFrom() functions; otherwise, only the purchase is taxed, not the sale. If anyone wants the smart contract, just let me know.
As mentioned, we basically have no budget and not much knowledge, but we still made a homepage (the frog changes depending on whether it's Wednesday or not), created a Telegram group, and a Twitter account. We even threw 25 € at Elon for X Premium+. It doesn't really help much; if you buy it at all, get the smallest version!

Our Problem
We started to get some traction in the beginning. Right now, we have around 930 people in our Telegram group. But since the presale began, we noticed that almost none of those people are willing to invest actual money. Currently, we are not sure if we will reach our SoftCap goal of $5,000. Does anyone here have any tips on how to get more attention from people who have actual money to invest? If so, feel free to comment below the post. ;)

Seeking advice on the best next steps for my situation. I (43f) have been married to my husband (41m) for 17 years (together for over 20 years). During those 17 years we separated at year 4 (lasted about a year) because I felt like he wasn’t meeting my expectations and sharing the mental load with our 3 young children at the time (he would often play video games after he got home from work instead of helping with the kids). We tried marriage counseling prior to separating but ultimately spending the year apart (and divorcing) helped us grow to the point where we felt life was not worth living unless we lived it together. 1 month after our divorce we started dating again and we remarried on our original wedding anniversary the following year.
This new marriage was better than the first- we were kinder to one another, communicated our expectations and needs (or so I thought), and we brought another child into the world. Together we are raising 4 children (2 in college, one in high school, and 1 in elementary). I felt like we were always on the same page. We constantly talked about our dreams and life goals, we went on vacations, he encouraged me to go back to school and helped out by taking over the cooking and cleaning. I would ask him what he needed from me and he would communicate that to me. I truly felt like we were stronger than ever. This is the marriage people dream of.
Last year, my husband encouraged me to go back to school to continue perusing my career goals. I got into a doctoral program for my field and he said he would support me however I needed. He works full time from home- and I work 2 part time jobs (one of which helps pay for my schooling). Well, I’m 1 year in with my program and about 3 weeks ago (right before finals) he tells me he’s unhappy with our marriage and his needs are not being met. He told me he needs to feel desired and valued and wants to be prioritized, have more sex, and more help with the cooking and picking up our youngest from school/sports. I dropped everything (happily) and stepped up to the plate. We had sex daily, I went back to cooking for the family every night, picking our youngest up from school/practice, and I only did my school work during his working hours so my weekends were free to spend with him. I even told him I would be happy to quit chill altogether because none of that means anything to me if he’s not by my side.
After about 1 week of this he reveals he’s not in love with me anymore and that he’s emotionally checked out because he had been feeling like this for years. He said he doesn’t want to have sex anymore, and he doesn’t want me around all the time, and now I’m cooking too much and not giving him the opportunity to cook, too. When I asked him why he didn’t communicate this to me sooner, he said he didn’t want to “stress me out.” He acknowledges that his communication is and always has been poor (although I thought it was better this time in our marriage). I suggested couples counseling- we went to one session and he tells me he’s not interested in putting the work because it’s too hard when he’s not in love with me. I told him I will continue to show up for him and our marriage because I believe in us and this amazing life we built.
It’s been only 3 weeks since he told me he was unhappy and last night he said he’s done. We had a long talk about what brings him joy in life and he couldn’t think of anything. I think he may be having a midlife crisis and he’s projecting his unhappiness onto me. He agreed to continue to go to therapy to work on himself and figure out “who he is” but doesn’t want our marriage to complicate this process. So now we are trying to figure out what life looks like during this process. We are going to try and cohabitate for the next few years and coparent and I’m going to attempt to continue with school (and work) so I can better support myself and our kids when he leaves. I’m hoping during this time he will come back to me but this is where I’m probably delusional. I know I need to let him go but I still have hope that we can be amazing together. He said he’s broken and I deserve better.
I should also mention that he revealed to me that prior to him telling me he was unhappy he had been jacking off to pornhub 2x a day. He said he built up resentment towards me during this time because he wanted to instead have sex with me. I reminded him that he never communicated this need to me and I would have been happy to step it up.
I keep telling him “I wish I had known.” It hurts my heart to hear my partner was hurting for all this time. All he had to do was tell me what he needed and give me the opportunity to meet his needs. But he never gave me that choice. I’ve been completely blindsighted, and I am completely devastated. I still have hope. Should I even continue to try and save what he thinks is lost?

Breaking News tonight from the Apollo 11 memorial landing site, as Admiral Adam Vir and Captains Warren Richards and Mary Chavez were rescued from the Pacific Ocean, following a journey that was supposed to be historical, turned harrowing. Amy Grey comes to us this morning with the story.
Thank you Julie, it was only a week ago here on the historic Cape Canaveral launch site, that the reconstructed Saturn V rocket was launched by the UNSC International Space and Aeronautics Division on the two thousand and fifty first anniversary of the original Apollo 11 mission. On board The reconstructed rocket were astronauts Fleet Admiral Adam Vir, head of the UNSC deep space exploration division, Captain Warren Richards five year veteran and historical aeronautics expert, and Mary Chavez, six year shuttle pilot veteran, and communications specialist.
The reconstructed Saturn V rocket took off thirty minutes behind schedule at 10:03 GMT July 16 after delays attributed to engineering standbys. However, reports by UNSC investigation early this morning indicate that the delays were called for by engineering head Jade Clein who noticed something strange during her final checks of the Saturn V recreated rocket.
In an interview early today, flight director, Aaliyah Seif of the Apollo re-creation mission informed outlets that there was evidence of attempted tampering on the hull of the Saturn V rocket. The tampering case in the shape of these small silver tape strips covering loosened bolts along one of the Saturn V side panels. Engineers stated that the tape was not heat resistant and would have burned off in time to rattle the bolts loose and, likely, cause a devastating spin that would destroy the rocket.
While this attempted tampering was thwarted, the mission would only become more dire. A sudden and shocking report by Mericanda News 5 showed an uncut image of an unknown alien hybrid woman claiming that the UN President had ordered the attempted assassination of Admiral Vir, in conjunction with an audio recording by Admiral Colter Massie, Head of the Galactic intelligence division and known isolationist, that admitted to the attempted assassination of Admiral Vir, and the acquisition of twenty Thunderhawk’s, which were used to harry the Saturn V on its way to the moon. Admiral Kelly, longtime friend of Admiral Vir, corroborated the story, saying she caught General Massie just after he ordered the deployment of the twenty Thunderhawk’s. During their conversion, he attempted to kill her, before being detained by two members of Admiral Vir's crew, and was later seen being escorted into custody by Military Police.
Indeed, footage has been captured from the hull of the Saturn V, showing approximately twenty Thunderhawk’s attempting to destroy the rocket while Rundi remote piloted drones and an unknown group of what appear to be racing jets, fought back to delay the attack, while word was sent to the UNSC to deploy F-90 Darkfire pilots to assist. This all after communications between Houston and the rocket were sabotaged shortly after leaving orbit. The F-90 Darkfire pilots were able to arrive on time to rescue the rocket, though a hole was reportedly torn in the hull, sucking Admiral Vir out into space. Luckily, he was later recovered and returned to his ship without any injuries. Patch teams were then able to repair the torn hull and the astronauts completed their mission landing to crowds on the moon and returning to earth on time, landing in the Pacific Ocean only nine miles away from the waiting ship.
All three astronauts were recovered and are reported to be in good health.
The investigation into the UN president's involvement is still ongoing at this time, however preliminary reports from the Global Bureau of Investigation suggest evidence is both staggering and damning to the current UN president, who earlier today, attempted to cut all ties to the sabotage efforts, saying she was framed. Political experts report that, even assuming her innocence, she will likely not last to the end of her term.
International News Network was able to interview Admiral Vir shortly after his landing while still on board the rescuing ship UNSS Victory.
Here is what the Admiral had to say:
"I find it... Really very disheartening that someone we all trusted, and someone that we all should have looked up to could do something like this. It really is a heinous demonstration of what political corruption can lead people to do."
"And how do you feel, personally about all of this?"
"Personally, I... well to be honest I am hurt and appalled. Not to mention that I fear for the safety of my family and my friends. Every day I wonder if my involvement with them is going to get someone I love killed... The thought haunts me, but I hope after all of this is over I... and all of us can breathe a little easier."
"Were you scared?"
"I don't think that even needs to be a question. Of course I was scared, getting sucked out of your spaceship isn't ideal."
"What do you hope will happen now?"
"I hope that justice can be upheld to those who deserve it."
"What do you have to say to the UN president."
”...”
”So?”
"I have nothing to say. Wouldn't want to waste the air.”

What followed would be one of the largest scandals in recent political history. At some point an unknown number of classified government documents was leaked onto the internet, and after that it was all over for the Presidency. Thousands of enterprising humans, and aliens alike, viewed the documents to discover all the underhanded and dirty things which had been going on in the UN governmental body over the past few years. Forensic accounting experts (mostly Tesraki), uncovered plenty of fiscal tampering which shed light on plenty of isolationist related projects and bank accounts. There was even evidence that they had something to do with the original assassination attempt against Admiral Vir so many months ago. The drama had even managed to capture the attention of Rundi political experts and Vrul computer science geniuses, and together they unearthed a world of unfathomable, but not unexpected corruption. The process to remove the UN president from office was probably one of the fastest movements of human government ever seen by UN congressional leaders, who were likely trying their very best to distance themselves from association with the president, who despite not being the only one involved, had become the political scapegoat for everyone else that had a supposed link with isolationism.
Even the VP fell under suspicion and was watched closely for the rest of his term.
Admiral Massie and the UN President were placed under arrest and set up for court dates in the nearing future, though everyone saw a long and arduous litigation process ahead. Even Ramirez's family had filed for damages against the government after the news came to light, confirming that their son had been shot as collateral in one of the UN presidents plans to assassinate Admiral Vir. They settled out of court to the tune of an unknown, but impressive sum of money.
No one really knew how much, but a couple months later Ramirez's younger sister was seen training at one of the most prestigious Olympic academies on earth.
Ramirez himself was suddenly able to afford housing on the moon in a condo just next door to his best friend, though no one else inquired further.
The Rundi chairwoman came forward with her own investigation, admitting to being suspicious for a long time though she feared accusations without proper proof. Admiral Vir was seen having lunch with her not so many months after the events took place, suggesting that the trust between the two of them had not been completely dissolved. With much of the isolationist element gone from government, public policy began to lean heavily towards integration with the alliance. The occasional isolationist demonstration or protest was held, but none of them managed to gain traction.
Admiral Vir was finding himself more important than ever, though it was to his chagrin that his ship was grounded for the intervening months while the investigation continued.
No one was entirely sure what the future held.

Admiral Vir stepped into Admiral Kelly's office. The last time he had actually visited her here had been over a few years ago, before his promotion to captain of the Harbinger. It seemed so distant now, and he never expected to walk into her office with a star on his shoulder. She stood as he entered, and the two of them shook hands, ignoring all the stuffy formalities that usually come with the meeting of two military officers.
The wall behind her was decorated with a myriad of metals and awards she had received over her career, and he couldn't help but note the slight tinge of grey he could see forming in her hair. He knew that feeling, he was going prematurely white much to his chagrin. She stood and the two of them shook hands.
"Vir."
"Kelly."
She motioned him to sit, and he sat, sighing lightly as he had been on his feet all day consulting with political figures and other members of the UNSC.
"A strange couple months wouldn't you say?”
"Tell me about it."
Kelly reached under her desk and withdrew an amber bottle which she placed between them,
"I always forget; do you drink?"
"On occasion."
"Well consider this an occasion."
She said, popping off the top and pouring two glasses for them. She handed his across the desk and he leaned back in his seat cupping the cool glass in both hands.
She swirled the amber liquid around in her glass,
"So what are your plans after all this?”
He took a sip of water warmed by the burning liquid,
"Hoping things will go back to normal and I can go back to traveling the galaxy."
Kelly grunted,
"A simple man with simple motivations."
He laughed,
"Sometimes I think a stupid man with simple motivations."
She chuckled then grew serious,
"A lot of people make the mistake of assuming simple people don't have the intelligence to match. Some people assume that trusting means gullible means dumb. Just because we are trusting and expect others to do the right thing is not necessarily a fault. I believe there is a kind of beauty in assuming the fundamental goodness of humanity."
Admiral Vir shook his head,
"How can you after seeing what we have seen?”
"How can you not?"
She shrugged,
"We always knew that politicians were corrupt, but think about everything else we have seen."
Admiral Vir nodded slowly,
"The enthusiasm for the Apollo 11 recreation mission, the people who flew up to help us. All of those people who went digging through years of information just to uncover the truth."
She raised her glass,
"Precisely. Goodness in humanity is all around us, but we tend to overlook the good in favor of the bad."
She placed her hat on the desk and sighed,
"It is up to good people to keep their goodness going even when it might seem easier to give into the bad. I have and will always believe in the fundamental good of humanity. Some may call it naive, or even stupid. Others have said I have a romanticized view of a species that is fundamentally broken."
She turned her head to look out the window, a contemplative expression on her face before turning back to look at Adam.
"You understand me, I think."
He nodded slowly.
"People need to be believed in. You tell someone for long enough that they are fundamentally bad at their core and they will begin to believe you. For thousands of years pessimists have gotten it into our heads that we are no better than animals, worse even since animals don't fight in wars. But I believe that is wrong, I have seen people, I have met people, and I have interacted with people who prove to me that humanity cannot just be fundamentally bad or else these people wouldn't exist."
She tapped her nails against the glass,
"I think it is easier to corrupt purity than wash away a stain."
He listened quietly as she continued.
"Humans are born good, Adam, and life stains us. We aren't born stained while some of us are wiped clean."
She shook her head,
"Doesn't make sense to me."
She caught him with a look, pinning him to the spot with her intense stare,
"People like you convince me of this every day."
"Me!?..."
She held up a hand.
"Adam Vir, I am convinced that the best outcome this universe ever had, was when a happy go lucky science fiction freak was lucky enough to be the first man to meet aliens. Any other way things would have gone horribly wrong."
She leaned across her desk,
"The universe needs men and women like you, and not only that but the universe needs people who are going to support men and women like you."
She sat back,
"Which is why I have made a decision…"
He raised an eyebrow in curiosity, not entirely sure where this could be going.
She smiled,
"I have decided to run for UN President."
He nearly spit his mouthful of expensive scotch onto the table, but managed to choke it mostly down.
Eyes wide he set his glass down,
"Are you serious?”
She smiled,
"Seriously serious."
"Well shit, you have my vote for sure."
He raised his glass to her,
"I couldn't think of a better outcome."

Obviously, I have Charlie’s permission to post this and for the people already knowing the stories, or starting to read them: If you follow the link and check out the story you will see some differences. I made some small (non-artistic) changes, mainly correcting writing mistakes, pronoun correction and some small additional info here and there of things which were not thought of/forgotten or even were added/changed in later stories (like the “USS->UNSC” prefix of Stabby, Chalar=/->Sunny etc). As well as some "biggemajor" changes in descriptions and info’s for the same stringency/continuity reason. That can be explained by the story collection being, well a story collection at the start with many standalone-stories just starring the same people, but later on it gets more to a stringent storyline with backstories and throwbacks. (For example Adam Vir has some HEAVY scars over his body, following his bones, which were not really talked about up till half the collection, where it says it covers his whole body and you find out via backflash that he had them the whole time and how he got them, they just weren't mentioned before. However, I would think a doctor would at least see these scars before that, especially since he gets analyzed, treated and goes shirtless/in T-shirts in some stories). So TLDR: Writing and some descriptions are slightly changed, with full OK from the author, since he himself did not bother to correct these things before.
