Camo Studio and Microsoft Teams
Has anyone here had issues lately with Microsoft Teams no longer recognizing Camo Studio in the "Devices" tab? Could this have something to do with macOS Sonoma and its lack of legacy video device support? I have already tried re-installing Teams, Camo Studio (on both my Mac and iPhone), cycling through the Security & Privacy permissions to ensure both applications have access to my Camera and Microphone. Am I missing something? Happy to provide any additional information.

Hello. My iphone now has started defaulting FaceTime to Microsoft teams. I cannot make a FaceTime call and no one can call me on FaceTime. I have tried deleting Microsoft teams from my phone and restarting my iPhone several times, but it is still defaulting to Microsoft teams even when the app is not downloaded. I would like to keep the app on my phone because I use it for work, does anyone have a solution for this? does anyone have a solution for this? Google was not helpful.

I dont have that email that starts with ac There is no link to click so i dont know how can it be phishing scam, but i am concerned. I dont think i use any microsoft apps or mails on this current iphone. Could this be that someone is in my phone or something like that?

I need a crash course in what options are available for deploying software, apps, drivers and updates via Microsoft Endpoint Manager. We use a mix of GPO, WSUS and SolarWinds Patch Manager for installing and updating software, apps, drivers and updates and works great for an on-prem, in-the-office infrastructure. We are slowly moving to the cloud with 365 Business Premium and Azure AD P2 and are evaluating Microsoft Endpoint Manager. To what degree would MEM overlap with our current GPO/WSUS/Patch Manager solution?
  1. WSUS provides us with all the Windows-specific updates pre-packaged, so it's just a matter of approving them.
  2. SolarWinds Patch Manager provides us with
    1. pre-packaged software updates for programs like Chrome, WinZip, Zoom, Java, Webex, Notepad++, Opera, PuTTY, SnagIt, TeamViewer, VLC, Wireshark, KeePass, LogMeIn, 7-zip, VMware, WinSCP, FileZilla and so on.
    2. links to third-party package catalogs by HP, Dell, Lenovo, Adobe, and more. These allow us to publish all the driver and software updates for our HP and Dell client devices without having to package them ourselves. They push out just like a Windows Update.

On a related note, where do package management solutions like WinGet, Chocolately, Scoop, and such come into play? I don't want to lose all the pre-packaged stuff I have today, but need a solution that is cloud-friendly. I've dabbled in WinGet and a lot of the packages I have seen/installed do overlap with WSUS/PM, but WinGet is very manual, seems to be only usable while on a specific device, and requires elevation of privs (whereas everything we have with WSUS/PM/GPO get installed without admin rights being needed).

Long story short my Microsoft account got hacked for a week , I was able to get it back after countless times trying to co text Microsoft and doing the recovery process. I managed to give enough info. Anyways the recent activity for the week it was hacked there’s tons of apps showing it had info transferred out, I have over 30gb of photos and documents like pictures of my ssi,licenses and debit cards, rest is family phones dating back a dacade.
So my question is there a way to find out what all my account was put thru ?
A few apps that showed up in the activity were.
Office Shared Components And they linked my google photos to my OneDrive Edit: I also believe they remote accessed my iPhone thru chromcast and Firefox both had my accounts linked

I recently got a rog ally as I’m frequently travelling/away from home etc.
I, being ambitious, thought I’d be able to fathom out downloading and using an emulator I was sadly mistaken.
Is anyone able to help me download citra and a Pokémon omega ruby rom?
I’ve got citra downloaded but when I try to open it from my Home Screen it doesn’t work and I have to go through all the files and open “citra-qt”
And as far as the rom goes I’ve downloaded a rom but when I click the Rom file it takes me to Microsoft edge and i reallly have no idea how to do it.
I’ve use delta and awful lot on iPhone so I figured it would be pretty simple however it seems much more complicated on pc… that being said my pc knowledge is inferior to say my iOS knowledge.
This is my first ‘pc’ for gaming and I’m just beginning to learn about them.

2024.05.14 05:31 Makaru15 Computer crashes on certain games. How can I diagnose?

So my computer is a home-built PC that works really well *except* sometimes it crashes during gaming. Seems to be game specific and no amount of tweaking settings on said games has ever seemed to help. It doesn't crash instantly and the game seemingly runs fine until a crash(Game freezes and then closes) occurs about 30 minutes - an hour in on average, and depending on the game much sooner or not at all. I want to know what I should do next to figure out the problem. A few Examples: Helldivers 2 runs quite well for a few full missions but crashes mid-mission usually at some point, my friends don't seem to have this issue when playing along with me. Subnautica seems to run for 15-30 minutes before crashing Final Fantasy 7 Remake *never* crashes Lethal Company coin toss on whether or not it crashes randomly. etc. Some older games on steam crash frequently it seems Elden Ring crashes if I play it a long time but that might be normal Some games crash faster than others and some don't crash at all. It's mind-boggling. I've been through game supports and all sorts of fixes and even replaced a few parts in my PC, specifically the RAM. I don't know what I should do next to diagnose it or try and figure out these crashes. I've done windows repair stuff, and other things. I don't want to buy anymore computer parts before I figure out what the actual problem is. I also did a scan with malwarebytes and malware wasn't the problem. I'm a project manager at a small MSP that has little in the way of consistent standardised processes and policies around project management and implementation. I'm working to change this, but I'm hoping to get some assistance from the community.
Depending on the project and the lead, our implementation varies widely. Our current process generally involves quoting from an estimation of labour and specific hardware needed, creating a "project ticket" in Zendesk and utilising third-party plugs to create linked sub-tickets for tasks. A very simple tracking files is whipped up in excel and used as a to-do list to ensure that tasks are completed, and incomplete tasks can be identified. Used more heavily for on-site implementations/upgrades to make sure that all items are ticked off. Lots of opportunities for post-implementation follow-up, review of lessons learnt, etc.
Being Zendesk, it's fairly limited, with updates in the ticket becoming permanent records and next to no collaboration tools, but it's the central platform used by our technical team, so it's familiar. Teams is used for chat functionality along with meetings to discuss project requirements, risks, implementation strategy etc but it's disjointed, to say the least. I personally use Loop pretty heavily and invite internal stakeholders, but this is barely used by others.
In the hopes of standardising our process to be a scalable solution, I was considering the following:
Do others here use a similar strategy? If I could get some feedback from others on the above, I'd really appreciate it.
Some common projects that we action at the moment for our clients are Google Workspace/IMAP → Microsoft 365 migrations (turnkey), onboarding new managed clients, network upgrades and optimisations for existing pay-as-you-go/unmanaged clients and similar.
Our current internal tools are Microsoft 365 for email, Teams for internal chat communication (company updates, SharePoint/OneDrive for company documents (generally as references rather than collaboration), requests for additional support from the junior technical team, etc), Zendesk for tickets, IT Glue for documentation, configuration (data pulled from some other platforms to help streamline) and credentials management for each client (managed and unmanaged), Watchman Monitoring + Team Viewer + Jamf Pro/Intune/Meraki Systems Manager for device management (mix depends on the client), Xero for quoting (manually) and invoicing (triggered with an integration from Zendesk for unmanaged clients). We don't have anything for proposals, automated quoting/estimating.

2024.05.14 00:11 krusty-krab-pizza1 iPhone Configuration Guide w/ Checklist

A month or so ago I busted my phone, and it was a huge pain in the ass. Aside from some lost data which was minor, the biggest PIA was resetting MFA, getting in touch with my US banks, and any other services that were tied to my phone. The experience also made me take a step back and realize I am pretty lax with security, and if someone had gotten hold of my phone and somehow god-forbid gotten the passcode, then I'd be fucked. They could do so much damage with unlimited access to my email + MFA SMS, even in just a few hours.
As a result, I kind of went down the ADHD rabbit hole hyper-fixating on how best to "optimize" my iPhone and iCloud configuration for two things:
  1. If it breaks, the transition to a new device will be relatively painless. I won't have to spend several days stressing and trying to find the right international customer support number for a myriad of institutions and services to get into my accounts.
  2. If it gets stolen and compromised, then there will be enough barriers such that the I'll have enough time to lock down the device and/or my accounts remotely before the thief can get key data or move funds.
So I put together this guide and checklist that I thought I'd share with others. I am a programmer but by no means a security guru, and so if any IT, DevOps, or SecOps folks want to chime-in with suggestions or improvements, please do.

Requirements

Dual Sim Setup

I have been rocking an iPhone 12 for the past few years, and it's served me very well. I know the newer iPhones (14 and up) no longer offer physical SIM card support, but carriers in most developing countries are behind the curve. Even if they offer eSIM support, it's been my experience that it's a major headache to get setup, there is a lack of customer support in English, and they may even require a local ID to register the eSIM. It's way easier to just head to a shop and pay $5 for a SIM card, load some funds onto it, and then you're good to go.
The eSIM has been very helpful for maintaining a US phone number for which I can receive SMS texts from my banks and other financial services as well as continue to use iMessage with all my US contacts since hardly anybody is on Whatsapp.
Most, if not all, carriers in the US support eSIMs now, and so you should try to find a carrier that offers an international pay-as-you-go plan. Verizon offers two international plans - one is a "Travel Pass" where it's a flat fee of $10/day anywhere outside the US or Canada (even for just one text message). The other is "pay for what you use" which has a rate per text, minute, and mb. For my US plan, I only care about receiving SMS texts from my banks and the occasional phone call to a service that doesn't have an international, toll-free number. Data will always be cheaper outside the US, so I disable cellular data switching for my US line.
The last time I was in the US was for the holidays and I bought 2 used iPhone 12's for about $200 each. They have some scuffs, but they're perfectly serviceable. In LATAM, it also doesn't attract nearly as much unwanted attention in the street as an iPhone 14 or 15.
I brought these with me as extra devices. When my phone busted last month, thankfully I had a backup in iCloud and everything was loaded in a few minutes as normal. This was before I was using the eSIM, but if I had the eSIM I could just go to Verizon support online via chat and they could help me switch the line to the new device easily.

MFA

Set up MFA with everything. Add multiple options if possible. My preferred MFA options are as follows:
  1. One-time code that renews every 30 seconds. This is device agnostic and can be stored in 1Password. You could also use Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator, Authy or similar, but there's just more overhead to now recover those accounts if your device becomes inaccessible.
  2. One-time code to recovery email.
  3. One-time code via SMS to my US phone number. On the pay-as-you-go Verizon plan, I only pay 5 cents per text message received. It's worth it to keep one consistent number.
  4. List of recovery codes (stored in 1Password as an attached txt file for the given account)
  5. Use another app for verification (Google does this a lot).

Lockdown your iCloud security

In the event your phone is stolen, the idea is you could run back to any of your devices or even use a friend's device to log into iCloud on the web, go to Find My, and then in a single button click you can lock and wipe the stolen device. If the thief turned off the device or disabled wifi/cellular, then as soon as it comes back online it will be wiped.

2024.05.13 06:47 q_bitzz Some apps, specifically MSI Afterburner, crashing after resuming from screensaver for unknown reason.

Since approximately a week ago, I have been seeing MSI Afterburner randomly crashing after resuming from a screensaver. I only ever see two things in Event Viewer, and I will paste them below.
If anyone else happens to have this issue, can you please post and if you figured out what was wrong, I'd love to try your solution.

I was planning on going to Waterloo CS practically thinking I already made it in I had a 99.8 Average with tons of ECS, had a hackathon which had revenue of $100,000,000 dollars sponsors from Microsoft, Event Monkey, Team Viewer and Corn Hub, I literally made 6 girlfriends at Waterloo and bought a Toyota Sienna so we could all ball out together all for me to get deferred to Geomatics. What will Jessica, Madison, Camilla, Arianna, Samantha and Bryce Hall do without me now. My life is ruined.

2024.05.13 01:18 Beingframedbylover 5th IOS DEVICE THIS MONTH!!!

💥🚨🚨Some one please help me I have tried 1000 times to explain to so many different people in different places and EVERYONE ALWAYS SAYS TO ME, "that's not possible, iPhones not hackable." DONT CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS!!!! I'm living this effing nightmare!! I am under attack and I can't figure out why and how. My phones are all compromised every time I make a new I cloud it gets taken over within a matter of an hour. I've gone through 4 brand new iPhones I'm currently on a new iPhone 15 plus, 3 different phone numbers, I have even switched carriers from Verizon to AT&T. My fiance is the account manager of these so he does have access to the account. I've lost 20,000 photos and videos. I have gone through 9 different iCloud's, 5 or so different Gmail's and who knows how many outlooks/ yahoos. I should have called authorities long ago but because I used to have a past I'm afraid to. I can't figure out how the "attacker" keeps getting in and altering my settings. Using focus and shortcuts on iOS to prevent and control my phone. They've spoofed numbers over and over again. Remotely wiped my phone more than once. Changed my passcodes. Change my passwords, stole and gave themselves security access to my indoor security camera, screen recorded everything I have done on my phone for months. When I saw my private actions being screen recorded through an app on my phone I was blown away. All the while my fiance did nothing to stop any of this. Instead taunted and teased me, wouldn't help me set up any kind of anti virus or anything. I was left trying to figure it out on my own. When I had to be taught how to use a Roku remote. I'm not tech savvy. One article I did see said something about Microsoft in sync IA THERE ANYONE WHO CAN PLEASE HELP? I may be a fool for loving someone I thought would protect me. But I’m not crazy in anyway.
