2024.05.14 13:25 Mindless-Network95 My boyfriend ‘35 M’ forgot his wallet and was proud to make ‘29 F’ pay. Was he right for doing that and getting made when I got mad?
My bf ‘35 M’ of 2 in a half years took me ‘29 F’ to eat breakfast on Mother’s Day. After we ate fished eating he realized he forgot his wallet. I wasn’t upset and told him it’s ok, I got it. He later suggested we go watch a movie but he passed out in the car so we went home and I told him to sleep. He worked 13 hours the night before so I wasn’t upset he was tired I understand why he’s so sleepy. During that time I cleaned the house and watch some videos on my phone. Later at 7pm I asked if we could go eat at my favorite spot and he said sure he looked for his wallet which were in his shorts and got ready. We ordered the usual and when it was time to pay, he said he forgot his wallet. I was silent but surprised because I saw him grab his wallet while getting ready but ok. I paid and we walked back to the car. During our ride home he was gloating about how it’s been a great Mother’s Day for him. A free breakfast and a good long nap and a free meal. How his cousins are gonna laugh about it when he tells them he made me pay for everything today. I got upset. I felt like a joke to him. The next morning he asked me what’s wrong that he put the money I spent yesterday in my purse. I took the money out and said to him that’s it’s not the money that I’m made about. It’s how he made fun of me and how instead of him apologizing, he made a joke out of it. He got made at me for being mad at him. Which one of us two is actually wrong here and why?

2024.05.14 13:14 EliseMoore33 Low balling settlement
Got hit head on back in February by an uninsured drunk driver. My insurance covered paying for the car being totalled. But they shorted me money after paying my car off. Roughly 1500 short. They are dodging my calls. I called yesterday and the lady spoke to me at 930am. Before I could finish asking questions she hung up on me. They never sent me documents to release my medical records to me until yesterday after my phone call. I used the chat option on the mobile app and the lady I spoke to apparently isn't assigned to me anymore and they said she took herself off my claim at 9am. So why did she speak to me about my injuries and proceed to send me an email for my medical records?? Before she hung up she low balled me and said she could offer me 2500 for my pain and suffering and I declined the offer. They havent even seen my records. She told me that soft tissue injuries resolve themselves in 6 to 8 weeks and it's been way longer than 8 weeks since the accident. I've gotten 2 trigger point injection sessions with 8 injections each time. Gone through 4 weeks of physical therapy. Tried so many pain relief options. My physical therapist said my next step is to go to pain management.
Is it crazy for me to expect my full policy payout for all this of 30k??
On top of this my spouse has a 20 minute drive to work, then leaves work driving 20 minutes back home to pick me and my baby up, drives us 20 minutes to the hospital, takes our baby to his work during my appointment, then picks me up, drives 20 minutes back home to drop me off, drives another 20 minutes to go back to work, and then at the end of his work day he'll drive another 20 minutes back home. Most weeks it's 2 appointments but I've had 4 appointments one week and it's getting exhausting. I'm tired of this pain and I feel like 2500 is chump change for everything I've been dealing with and having to live with this pain.
Don't want a personal injury lawyer but need advice on what I can do

2024.05.14 13:12 Le_Dank17 Deactivated after 2 days
I have stated this in another post that I was deactivated after 2 days just for trying to change my accoutn from bike to car, however the insurance documentation is in a fleet policy under a family members name.
Apparently now I am a criminal and a Fraud.
Has anyone had any experience with getting their account reactivated after Uber have also denied the appeal? I have email, tried UK support and have now just submitted a further appeal.
Thanks!

2024.05.14 13:08 CyberSecure Modified Car Selling Site
Hi all,
I've recently launched a website for buying and selling modified cars. Imagine Autotrader but modified cars only. I'm not posting the link as don't want to be seen as advertising. But I'm looking for a few people who are keen to get involved in helping promote the site. In return, I can offer tickets to car events across the UK as we'll be attending them on a stand. The site is free to use, and has no revenue stream at the moment but hopefully as we grow we will be able to bring in some cash. We're getting around 500 visits a day which is a good start. Happy to chat!

2024.05.14 13:08 Ohdaaveed Can someone help me?
(24M) I don't know what to do. And tbh I'm nervous about even posting this.
I want to clarify that I'm not suicidal. I've even learned that I don't want death as much as I want to understand how to not suffer as much as I do. Though some days that changes, I'll admit. But the way I've been feeling lately is as unbearable as it is inexorable. Each day my ability to carry-on descends a step. I used to be able to handle my pain enough to hide it from others. I used to shrug it off, focus my mind onto something else, and deal with it later. But now things are much worse. And I'm struggling to keep it together. I feel like I'm really losing my shit, and I want to fully emphasize the fear behind that.
I can't sleep anymore.
I get frightening experiences. Either terribly torturous dreams that wake me up or sudden onset panic. My heart races fast just thinking about resting my head against my pillow. I used to oversleep, which sounds pleasant enough. But I promise you, it's not. I couldn't hold a routine. I didn't have time to do what I wanted/needed to do. I felt like I was imprisoned by it. Plus, I didn't feel well rested. I felt like I could keep on sleeping the entire day. But now I'm unable to sleep. I find this to be much worse. I average about 4 hours a night now, if I can. I've tried a myriad of different strategies to mitigate the sleeplessness. Either less or no caffeine, frequent exercise, setting an alarm for an early hour in the day to hopefully get tired later on, and staying away from screens for at least an hour or so before I try to sleep. I'm desperate for something. Medications haven't worked very well for me in the past either. Although, I've only tried melatonin—which is not that extensive of a list, of course—so I'm open to any suggestions if you have any.
My anxiety is worse.
It's always been pretty bad, but I just powered through it in a way. I could still go to the store and buy whatever despite it blaring in my face the whole time. But it's much worse now. Which, to me, is very odd. I spend lots of time around people. People I know well, people I don't know at all. I'm in public spaces a lot. But now, more than ever, I get so fucking paralyzed by it. To even walk into a Walgreens feels impossible. It's just like a constant buzz for me . There is no restful, relaxing, or calm experience to life anymore. I never come down from the stress. I've never taken anxiety medication. I don't know the efficacy of any, and I don't enjoy the idea of relying on medications to feel "normal". But I'm constantly in a state of panic nowadays. So at this point, I'm starting to not care about those sort of things.
I don't drink or smoke.
I've abstained from nicotine and alcohol for a long while now. I had a much longer experience with alcohol. But I never was one to truly abuse either of those substances. I used to drink for years, everyone in my family still does, my friends still do, but I've stopped. I recognize that my mental state gets dangerous if I drink. I'm not dangerous to others by any means. I just turn to self loathing and feel like I can't live anymore. So I'm not on any drugs, medications, or anything of the sort. I don't know how I got to this point. I don't want to be this way. But I'm noticing a progression of suffering despite the use of any substances.
I just feel hopeless.
I've been unhappy ever since I could first be conscious. I used to have terrible views of myself, hating the way I look, sound, or exist in the world. I don't have negative thoughts anymore as much as I am almost immobilized by a lack of desire to physically move. I can hardly think as it is, too. I'm forgetful and scattered all the time. Moving is getting harder. Even talking is almost impossible. I jumble my words sometimes. I feel so embarrassed when I do. I feel I sound ridiculous. Even to write this right now is very difficult. I just feel so alone even when I'm in a room packed with loved ones. I don't even feel real anymore. I don't feel joy or excitement. I break down all the time now. I can't even fake a smile at work anymore (luckily I don't work in customer service).
I haven't tried therapy.
I don't feel the courage to talk to a therapist. I definitely don't have the funds either. I've looked for some form of either cheap/free counseling but the thought of either calling or sitting in front of a person to tell them about myself makes me so unbelievably anxious. I don't want to be hospitalized, I know how that goes and I don't want that for me. I feel like my life is falling apart and I have no explanation as to why. Someone please help me, I don't know how to survive like this.
I apologize for the length of this post too. I didn't mean for it to be so much.

2024.05.14 13:06 Tennisdeuce Insurance claim not moving
I hit my new car(Porsche) against curb and it caused structural/mechanical damage. The insurance company’s select shops in nearby areas don’t work on cars like mine (combo of being high end and type of damage). So there is a huge difference between the labor rates that dealer is asking vs what insurance is providing. Should the insurance company move closer to what dealer is asking since their select service shops don’t work on my car. Also, Porsche documentation states to replace certain parts if tires are hit. The insurance is not agreeing to that replacement as well since there is no physical damage. The claim was filed more than a month ago but no progress has been made. Trying to seek advise on how to proceed .. I am thinking about approaching small claims court but the claim limit of 15,000 won’t nearly cover the dealership costs of labor and repair.

2024.05.14 13:02 Lalo430 Moving from UK (EU citizen) to Switzerland
Hi there!
As the title suggests I am considering moving to Switzerland in next 3-5 years from the UK although I am a EU citizen so I shouldn't have the same visa requirements as British national.
I currently work in Insurance as a pricing analyst and perhaps wouldn't mind remaining in insurance which I think is a strong industry in Switzerland.
My plan currently is to get more experience (another 3-4 years perhaps getting into a more senior position) and then start thinking about moving however I like having some plan in my head so can prepare beforehand.
The primary reasona I am considering the move is quality of life in Switzerland should be better than in the UK and I'd be closer to family if I moved to Switzerland (of course the salary is also attracting and potentially giving my future kids a better quality of life but of course that's too far in the future as I don't have kids and I am very young still).
My main worries are: - I don't have a Masters but only a BSc, this has been absolutely fine for the UK as masters are not really that useful here (a part from a few subjects) so I am wondering whether I would need a masters to even be considered. I am happy to pursue a masters if I was given a work+ study offer but not sure how common those are in Switzerland. - regarding the languages spkmen in Switzerland I speak Italian (spoken in Ticino but I'd be looking at the German side) and very little German from school classes. Would this be enough to get as a job and be fine communicating at work with colleagues? - My girlfriend is British so if I was to move with her I assume we would need to be married? - can you invest long term in Switzerland tax free (pension/investment account)? This is something I really appreciate about the UK but not sure Switzerland may have it, but again it's not a deal breaker just something nice to have.
Thank you in advance.

2024.05.14 13:01 davemcl37 Looking for DJI suppliers in the uk
Hi there, thinking about dipping my toe in the water and getting a mini 3 for my first drone.
At the moment I can see the reduced prices available from DJI themselves, Argos and coolshop.co.uk though I’ve never heard of them before.
If I buy with Argos I get 12 months interest free which definetly helps but they don’t have the rc-n1 controller so price starts at £459 not £339.
If I buy with DJI then I can get the rc-n1 controller so the price is £339 but I only get 4 months of Interst free credit with clear pay. DJI are also offering £62 of free accessories being a as card case, lanyard strap, landing pad and 3 months of public liability insurance.
As much as I’d love to splash the cash I can’t prioritise a drone over a new couch , which my wife really wants, so I’m trying to keep monthly costs down much as I’d love to get a 3or 4 pro.
So some questions:
- Is the controller with the screen worth the extra £120 cash for a beginner who will use it occasionally.
- Can you get the fly more package separately as I can’t find anyone selling a 3 rc-n1 with the fly more pack.
- If I buy a drone from another third party, say Argos , can I still purchase the care package from DJI and would they support it the same way or refer me back to Argos for any faults. Or put simply are you better going to DJI so they handle all customer service requests.
So stupid question perhaps but what would you advise me to buy or are you aware of other suppliers who may give me other choices.

2024.05.14 13:01 FelicitySmoak_ On This Day in Michael Jackson HIStory - May 14th
| 1975 - Michael had a private meeting with Berry Gordy to discuss the Jackson Five's future & after being denied creative freedom once again, the brothers started shopping for a new record deal. The Jackson Five had begun to ask to produce, write and record their own material in the previous year but all their requests for creative control had been denied. 1985 - Michael met Ronald & Nancy Reagan at White House for the launch of a campaign against driving under the influence of alcohol. In the spring of 1984, Michael's team received a call from the Secretary of Transportation, Elizabeth Dole, asking for Michael to give "BEAT IT" as background music for a television commercial and a 35 second radio spot on the dangers of driving a car under the influence of alcohol. Even though the initiative was initially rejected by Michael, once he meditated a bit, he explained to his representative, John Branca "You know what? If I can get some kind of prize from the White House then I will give them the song. How about?". Intrigued, Branca asked: "Like what?" Jackson listed: "I want to know the White House. I want to be on a stage with the president and receive an award from him. I want an event with children. And I also want to meet Nancy. All that. Why not? Can you get it? " Branca was given the task of obtaining a positive response in the shortest time possible, which was not entirely difficult due to the fascination of the Reagans with show business. And so, the meeting was scheduled for the morning of 5/14/84 For such an important occasion, President Reagan dressed in a navy blue suit, a gray and navy blue striped tie & a white shirt. Nancy,on the other hand, chose a white suit, Adolfo brand, adorned with buttons and gold stripes. Nothing too spectacular to overshadow Michael's attire: an electric blue sequined jacket, adorned with sequined laces, a band of golden sequins, and epaulettes with golden sequins. He also wore his famous white sequined glove. https://preview.redd.it/nn68194tj80d1.jpg?width=406&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=710f061825c711906a69bd169dbeb02f8c8c0b51 Two thousand people in total, including officials, admirers and security met in the central garden to see Michael. Once everyone was up on stage, the Republican president pointed out that: "Michael Jackson is proof of what a person can accomplish through a lifestyle free of alcohol or drug abuse. People young and old can respect that. And if Americans follow his example, then we can face up to the problem of drinking and driving, and we can, in Michael's words, beat it." - a brief speech of just 5 and a half minutes. Then he handed a plaque to Michael, a gesture that he thanked before the microphone with an even more brief intervention, saying a mere 13 words: "I'm very, very honored. Thank you very much, Mr. President and Mrs. Reagan." https://reddit.com/link/1crpctu/video/r07t0142k80d1/player https://preview.redd.it/educ10awj80d1.jpg?width=612&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=60f980e7749f52943df3a56972887cbe3731dbdf During his tour of the halls of the presidential residence, he showed his fascination with a portrait of Andrew Jackson, dressed in a military suit very similar to the blue sequins he wore that day. Until Michael's visit, only Elvis Presley, received this distinction, in 1970, when President Richard Nixon opened the doors of the Oval Office. Michael would return to the White House twice more during the terms of George W. Bush, Sr & Bill Clinton https://reddit.com/link/1crpctu/video/o2x9r4cyj80d1/player 1985 - Michael Jackson received a royalty check from Epic Records for $53 Million for sales from his Thriller album. 1988- Michael is on the cover of Fresh! magazine https://preview.redd.it/eii45a57k80d1.jpg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=771d58c37d792dbc52221fc861f8f58e34cc8100 1996- Michael visits Chateau de Pierrefonds in Northern France, rumors were he wanted to purchase a French chateau. The Château de Pierrefonds, classified as a historic monument and managed by the Center des monuments nationaux, was not for sale. Michael was aware of this so his visit was simply a pleasure visit. https://preview.redd.it/j8gz337bk80d1.jpg?width=281&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5163fff4c29fb985acf401c2933c7dde4af8a672 https://preview.redd.it/54lp837bk80d1.jpg?width=320&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=97e7a8931a213c4bc1247332b95d9bb3fcd5a3b6 The guides at the Château de Pierrefonds keep the memory of this arrival, completely unexpected, on 5/14/96. They speak with pleasure of this moment when the King of Pop arrived, surrounded by his bodyguards, to discover this castle worthy of fairy tales. According to one of the guides, he arrived in a limousine which he parked in front of the village pharmacy. Michael, in fact, came in a station wagon type car which parked as close as possible to the entrance to the castle. Wearing a red jacket and his mask, Michael arrived late in the morning when there were not too many people. However, it was school field trip time and a group of children were present. One of the guides explains that he then hid in a corner, near the stairs where the visit to the castle begins, so as not to be seen and disturbed Michael paused for a long time in front of the model of the castle, located at the end of the guard room. Made in 1878 for the Universal Exhibition, this stone model built at 1/50 scale remains impressive (height: 145cm, width: 250 cm, length: 350 cm). Michael's bodyguards reportedly took a lot of photos and it is said that Michael asked for the plans of the model. What is certain is that Michael had a model of the castle made for his Neverland ranch. It measured 269cm x 335cm x365 cm. A little larger than the model present at the castle. Michael's model sat in the middle of his living room, with, for a time, a framed photo of the castle on the wall. https://preview.redd.it/xo80inzdk80d1.jpg?width=768&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3aed3bef7fb02ecd40e0d243da43dbdc7e0c4ac0 The model was one of the objects that Julien's Auctions wanted to sell at auction in 2009, before Michael prevented this sale. https://preview.redd.it/1gyyvzlfk80d1.jpg?width=465&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1a9058ccf99ded3d7f6c290163dfb33578fb68bd Although shy and discreet, Michael did not hesitate to pose for photos with the employees, who were quickly aware of his presence Michael also leaves a strong memory of his visit with employees through his visit to the site's souvenir shop. He spent a large sum on history books, an amount which, according to the guide, “is not seen every day here” . 2004 - The Defense team, headed up by Thomas Mesereau, have decided to agree with the DA's Office of Santa Barbara to uphold the gag order in the case against Michael. Mesereau wrote that he and his client support the gag order and withdrew any objections to it made by Jackson's prior counsel. In court documents filed , Attorney Theodore Boutrous, who represents the news organizations, criticized Santa Barbara County DA Thomas Sneddon's condemnation of the intense media coverage. "Eliminating the gag order will ensure that more accurate information will be disseminated, and will reduce the amount of rumors, speculation and gossip about which the District Attorney complains," Boutrous wrote. The news organizations have been annoyed by Sneddon's clampdown on information about the case. They have asked the California Supreme Court to overturn the gag order on the grounds that it violates the freedom of speech guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. Thomas Sneddon and Gerald Franklin, filed a motion earlier in the week, to the California Supreme Court to uphold the gag order in this case. He argued that the media was hoping to profit by pandering to a "gossip-hungry readership." He proceeded to write in his letter, "Despite the perhaps inevitable leaks, the public knows little more about the facts of this case than that Michael Jackson has been indicted on serious charges and that a jury will be asked to consider the evidence that may be presented to determine his guilt or innocence based on that evidence. And that's the way it should be." Mr. Sneddon's letter was a response to the media's attorneys that wanted the gag order lifted which was imposed by the sitting judge in the case, Superior Court Judge Rodney Melville. The gag order prohibits participants involved in the case to discuss any particulars about the case to the media. Sneddon argued in his letter that the news organizations have no standing to challenge the gag order because it applies only to case participants, not the media. He also said that such an order is required in a case that has drawn sensational worldwide attention. "What is reported as fact becomes the nucleus of intense speculation, conjecture and discussion among commentators, particularly in the tabloid media and the audience they appeal to," Sneddon wrote. "Gossip -- and the 'news' tidbits that are gossip's grist -- translate into income." 2009 - In the last Family gathering Michael, Prince, Paris & Blanket attend Katherine & Joe's 60th wedding anniversary at the Indian Restaurant, Chakra in Beverly Hills with the whole family including all the grandchildren. 2024.05.14 13:00 Neowza Weekly Advocacy Post
Below you'll find information and links to help advocate for Reproductive Freedoms and Abortion care in Canada and emerging policy issues with the Reddit platform. This is a recurring post and will be periodically updated as needed. Feel free to post additional information and discussions in the comments.
Advocating for Abortion Care in Canada: - There is a serious lack of Abortion Care options in Canada, particularly in the rural areas, and for those living on reserves, they have almost no access to Abortion care. People may have to travel more than 100km and across provincial lines to access abortion. Some have to travel by plane from their rural community to one with an abortion clinic or hospital. This puts an unfair financial and logistical burden on those that need to access abortion care. Provincial Health Insurance Plans do not cover travel costs related to receiving medical care.
- Because many provinces have few facilities that provide Abortion care, this places an unreasonable load on the clinics that do exist, forcing clients to look elsewhere for facilities with capacity to help them. In Alberta, there is one clinic for every 209,077 people who can become pregnant (number of assigned-at-birth females between the ages of 15-29). PEI, the Northwest Territories and the Yukon Territory each only have 1 Abortion care provider. Nunavut only has 2 abortion providers, and of those, only one offers medical abortion covered by the provincial health insurance plan. In fact, 9 (out of a total of 13) Canadian provinces and territories have five or fewer facililities offering abortion care in their entire province. And 10 Canadian provinces and territories have one or fewer (0) rural facililities offering abortion care.
- Some provinces, like PEI, have more restrictive guidelines regarding abortion, limiting access to abortion care to those with a gestational period of less than 12 weeks (meaning, 12 weeks since the first day of your last period, not 12 weeks since you discovered you were pregnant). Many people who menstruate have irregular periods. Some people might only menstruate every 2 or 3 months, and might only discover that they are pregnant near the gestation limit of 12 weeks.
- Insurance coverage also limits access to abortions. Provinces such as Nunavut do not offer coverage for medical abortions unless they are prescribed and performed in a hospital. And being a rural province, there also happens to be only 1 hospital in Nunavut - Qikiqtani General Hospital in Iqualuit. New Brunswick will only cover abortion services in a hospital setting, which means that abortion medical care provided in clinics are not covered by their Provincial Health Insurance Plan.
- Sexual and reproductive health services are among the services that physicians, pharmacists and nurse practitioners are most frequently unwilling to provide on moral or religious grounds. People may be harassed and attacked while visiting an Abortion clinic may experience stigma and/or discrimination from their peers, especially in smaller, rural communities where everyone knows one another. People refused care by health care professionals because of personal beliefs may experience stigma and/or discrimination, forcing them to travel outside of their community to receive the care they need. This can all be particularly daunting for young people or those with limited resources.
- Everyone in Canada is supposed to have equal rights to access health care, regardless of race, age, class, immigration status, gender expression, sexuality and ability. Nevertheless, anyone's right to seek abortion care can be be impacted by discrimination and bigotry, both systemic and as a result of individual prejudice on the part of service providers. Racism, xenophobia, classism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, and ageism in Canada are all direct and intersecting barriers to accessing abortion. It is much more difficult for a person who doesn’t speak English to access abortion services, despite the presence of a translator. Transpeople also experience discrimination at higher rates in reproductive health care settings. Providers may also lack the knowledge or training to provide trans-affirming abortion care and abortion services are typically housed within *women’s* health care departments.
- Further compounding the issue of inequitable abortion access are unregulated crisis pregnancy centres (CPCs), which are anti-choice pregnancy centres that advertise in hospitals, doctor's offices, churches, schools and community centre. They deceive people coming to them for options and advice by giving misinformation about abortion or by insisting on options that may delay or interfere with the clients ability to access the care they need. CPCs far outnumber abortion care providers in Canada. In Ontario alone, there are 77 active CPCs but only 38 abortion care providers. Overall, in Canada, there are 165 known CPCs compared to 147 abortion care providers (as of August 2022).

Policy Options, via the Institute for Research on Public Policy and
Action Canada for Sexual Health & Rights What can you do to improve access to abortion care in Canada?
- Listen, research and learn. This is always the first step to understand any problem.
- Send a letter to your MP and MPP. Tell them that access to abortion care is important and how difficult it can be to access it in your province. Urge them to prevent anti-choice groups and CPCs from receiving charitable status, and to revoke the charitable status from CPCs that already have it. Encourage them to include reasonable reimbursement for travel costs related to receiving medical care when it is not available in your community. And push them to pass Safe Access Zone Legislation to protect patients, practitioners and their staff from anti-choice harassment and intimidation.
- Give a donation to a pro-choice charitable organization of your choice. Remember, if you give a total of $201 CDN or more to Canadian charitable organizations, you'll get a credit of 29% of your total annual donations on your income taxes (for those that file Canadian Income Taxes, only).
- Sign up for the Abortion Rights Coalition of Canada Newsletter. https://www.arcc-cdac.ca/
- Participate in local marches and rallys in support of access to abortion care.
- Spread the Word. Tell your friends and family. Encourage them to research, listen and learn. Encourage them to contact their MPP and MPs.
- If you work in a Doctor's office or as a family physician, consider incorporating Mifegymiso into your practice to ensure patients have timely access to this essential service. If you are a Doctor, or studying to be one, consider opening an Abortion Care practice when you are licensed and qualified to do so, especially in rural areas where there are a lack of options.
- If you work in politics, consider proposing legislation that will ensure safe access zones for abortion care providers and their clients and covering reasonable travel costs for constituents when medical care is not available in their community.
- If you are a journalist or work in media, consider preparing pieces sharing the difficulty Canadians can have accessing medical care such as abortions.
- If you work in the area of Not For Profit/Advocacy, consider partnering with a Pro-choice organization and helping them spread information and lobby for improving access to abortion care for Canadians.
- If you know someone who needs abortion care, consider giving them a ride to a clinic, helping them access the advice and care they need, and provide non-judgemental support.
- Ensure persons of First Nations, Metis and Inuit heritage know about Jordan's Principle, which ensures that First Nations children (which includes people who can become pregnant under the age of 18) can access the products, services and supports they need, when they need them. https://www.sac-isc.gc.ca/eng/1568396042341/1568396159824

This policy change meant that mobile users would have a lesser experience browsing Reddit, users with visual difficulties could not browse reddit as screenreaders are not compatible with the official Reddit app, and mods lost tools that they depend on to keep communities on-topic and spam-free. Many subreddits protested this change in June 2023, and the Reddit admins enforced draconian measures such as removing and replacing mods who privatized their subreddits in protest of this policy change.
On September 12, 2023, Reddit will eliminate reddit coins, including removing all accumulated coins, a perk that Reddit Premium users pay for every month. Coins are used to reward comments and posts by showing your appreciation for the effort. Some reddit coins offer the ability to use reddit without ads.
What can you do to protest the policy changes at Reddit?
- Listen, research and learn. Check /modcoord for updates
- Cancel your Reddit Premium membership
- Participate in subreddit led protests
- Look for other forums to patronize. We have a forum on Discord called Auntie Network Canada. Message the mods here for an invite link to the Discord group.
- Complain. Message the mods of reddit.com, who are the admins of the site: message reddit: submit a support request: comment in relevant threads on reddit. Leave a negative review on their official iOS or Android app.

2024.05.14 12:59 Herbie_-_ New (40m) driver insurance question, would it be better to wait a couple of years until I buy a car?
I just passed my test at 40m (but have over 20 years of driving experience outside of the UK).
I'd like to get a car but insurance prices are pretty high, would it be better to wait a year or two and then buy one or would the lack of insurance history still impact me?
I don't need a car for commuting, it would be mainly for weekend/fun and road trips, I like cars so I was looking for something fun but cheap, like an Swift Sport or an MX5.
