This is a dedicated subreddit for those who are love the "churchwarden" style tobacco pipe. Found in Lord of the Rings and most famously smoked by Gandalf, this "reading pipe" as it was known back in the day is a perfect companion for all of us that fancy themselves a citizen of the Shire. Talk about churchwardens, pipe tobacco that is LOTR themed, or anything else that strikes your fancy!
Beardsmen! Welcome! We're here to celebrate and show off our glorious beards, in which we dedicate ourselves to the discipline and fine art of engineering.
I'm looking for a 4" tail pipe to come off of my muffler. Anyone have any suggestions

//- EXECUTIVE NOTES //-
- I am using a TEW 2016 data converted to TEW 2020, it has a lot of issues mainly around personality attributes, everyone - even the most godly person seems to have a hard drug issue or cause issues. This really impacted the moral (0%) and therefore hurt my initial shows. I'm not a fan of playing around with data during a save but it was required to make it playable.
- Despite slashing the wage bill with $700k in terminations, and signing replacements on per show deals my basic wage has not changed dramatically, only about $100k.
- One unintended consequence of slashing the wage bill has been a massive reduction in Merchandise. I'm making $750k less than my first month. While my live event merchandise sales have increased, I'm $775k down on worker sales.
- As one of the few that did watch WCW in 2000, I am surprised you start as small (made even harder by being based South West). Also Hogan was still under contract with WCW until 2002 (just sitting at home), on this data he starts unemployed. Having said that, if he was on your wage bill the challenge would be even harder.
1. Kolm pitching and confidence.
In a series that had many interesting storylines such as Jorgensen’s and Behen’s first series with their new teams, Evan’s first official series in MLW after being drafted with the first overall pick in the past draft and Cheetam’s first series as manager it was Preston Kolm who caught my eye the most.
I thought that surely Jorgensen would get the ball for game 2. Instead, manager Tommy Coughlin decided to go with Preston, clearly, he impressed him in the offseason, and he certainly impressed me as well. He showed great command, his pitches looked sharp, movement was working, and you could see that as he got deeper into the game his confidence was rising, he even broke out a Kracht-esque sidestep pitch for a strikeout. He ended up with a no hitter and a near perfect game just ruined by a single walk.
Now, with no intention of ruining the Mallards hype party, it is important to note that the Gators are probably not the most competitive team in the league, and their offense might be the weakest of all teams. They only scored one run in 9 innings (granted, the Mallards scored 2) but still, it was an amazing first outing for Kolm.
What was interesting to watch is that the confidence was not only bounded to pitching, but it carried over to everything else. He made some nice defensive plays in the field including a really tough one. At the plate he reached in 4 out of his 6 plate appearances.
I will follow his progress closely as the season goes on, but the Mallards suddenly have really nice depth in their rotation, with 3 very capable arms on the roster.
2. Sawyer Behen can pitch!
Coming into this series many eyes where on Behen, and for good reason. After the very loud and controversial trade that saw Behen land with the Gators, there is a lot of pressure on him to perform this year, especially with the comments he made during the offseason, and if this series is any indication of what we will see from him, ohh boy did the Gators win this trade. After Jorgensen’s departure the Gators will need to fill the franchise player vacancy. And while I don’t think Behen can be enough of a hitter to fill that void, he showed he can be the face of the Gators pitching staff. Behen looked unhittable, and aside from a Robles rocket to left field, no one really made strong contact off him. His final line was 7IP, 1ER, 16K and 9BB. With Behen at this level on the mound, rookie Evans talent and Cheetam as a third arm the Gators quietly have a solid rotation, capable of winning games even against the most dangerous offenses as they nearly did in the 3 games against the Mallards.
3. Gators rookies are here!
Aiden Richard joined the Gators as an undrafted free agent, and while I’m sure it was not the debut he hoped for, as he went 0-2 and had a whoopsie play in right field that resulted in a Robles home run which ended up being the winning run for the Mallards. He looked good. He was responsible for one of the few Gators’ hard-hit balls, unfortunately it went just foul instead of what would have been a monster home run. But his swing looks good, he clearly has power and I think as the season goes on and as he racks up more plate appearances, he will be a good player for the Gators.
As for fist overall pick Jeremy Adams it was mixed bag, he started off great with a well hit ball to open the series for the Gators but wasn’t able to get any hits after that. Still, he managed to reach base 4 times in 10 PA’s. Which was the best mark on his team. The swing looks dangerous and there is definitively a power threat in there. I think it will take some time for him to adjust to MLW pitchers and rules, but I am confident he will figure it out. However, what really impressed me was his pitching. It is normal for first year players to struggle as pitchers, but Evans looked as comfortable as a veteran star pitcher. He only allowed one run in 3 innings of work and that run should have a major asterisk next to it, as Richard pushed the ball over the fence on a batted ball that would have never made it past the fence without some help. Overall, I loved what I saw from him on the mound, and Behen now must be absolutely remarkable if he doesn’t want to lose his spot as the guy in the pitching rotation. I would go as far as to say that Evans might already be the best second arm in the league, (if he will be the second arm for much longer is really in question) to say he has ace potential is an underestimation.
4. What happened to the Mallards offense?
If you would have told me that the Mallards would manage only 2 runs in the whole series against the Gators, I would have called you crazy. Nevertheless, that is exactly what happened, and I have no idea what to think about it. I had previously called the new Mallards offense the best assembled lineup in modern MLW history. The fact that they couldn’t really get anything going against a rookie pitcher and a 2.48 ERA pitcher in Behen is honestly, surprising. There is no point in trying to analyze why this happened. Its too small of a sample size. Let’s just call it an off day for them, but its something that is worth paying attention for their next series.
5. What happened to the cheat code?
I believed Cheetam could return to his usual form as a hitter, after an awful 2023 season, but it was a torrid start. If the Gators want to play playoff baseball this season, they need Cheetam’s bat to wake up. He is now the leader of this incredible young team, and I fear that if they keep getting no production out of him their season will be a short one.
UPDATE 1.5 years later: a few months after I made the post below, my BF and I decided to do 75 hard together. It is a fitness challenge that requires no drinking for 75 days. It absolutely changed the course of my life forever. My BF hasn’t drank since, and our relationship is absolutely flourishing and drama free. Against all odds, he went to an AA meeting of his own accord- didn’t even tell me until he showed me his 30 day chip.
I am proud to say that he is now over 1 year sober, he has a sponsor AND a sponsee, he is chairing meetings and very active in AA. IT WORKS IF YOU WORK IT! - Just thought I would share my story with you guys. There is hope for recovery in everyone. If my BF could do it, anyone can. Happy to answer any questions in the comments!
Original post below_____________
I posted previously about my BF stopping drinking after an incident, well, just two days later when I got home, I knew he was drunk. He lied. A week later I come home, and he is wasted and crying. Tells me he is just hyped up on coffee…but I know. I told him he doesn’t have to lie to be because quitting alcohol and nicotine at one time is impossible to do without help, and he shouldn’t feel ashamed. I suggested AA again. He says absolutely not. He says he is so ashamed of what happened that he will never drink again and that is all he needs to quit (he says all of this while he is absolutely trashed, thinking I don’t know.)
Well, a few weeks later, he finally comes clean, and admits that he had been drunk that night. I act surprised. He then says he wants to do 1 beer a day for his advent calendar. Says he hates drinking, but only wants to do it because his friends are doing it. I say, “I trust you! Go for it.”
Well, as you can guess, now he is allowing himself 4 beers a night, back to tobacco, and after I go to bed, he thinks he is hiding that he is drinking more. I let him live in this delusion.
I confronted him today about a beer he must have forgotten to hide next to the couch. He lies and says that he forgot he put that there from his beer advent calendar. Also lies when I ask him if he ate more food after I made us a big dinner last night (because the container is on the counter.) He LIES about the food too??? Why is this happening?
I can just see the resentment building on both sides again. I don’t know if I can do this. I expressed to him that I think it will only get worse, and he says that I should stop being so negative and trust that he has it under control.
Personally I have ideas for both if they decided to do a reboot I'd have the first 2 seasons combined into 1 as Season 1 was just finding its footing and its only in season 2 we start seeing the starting if a linear plotline like with the key the caves etc...
So I'd have season 1 end where season 2 ends combine a few essential plotlines into episodes and whatnot have the twister situation/ending for season 1 be the mid-season finale.
I'd also introduce Lois a lot earlier I'd have her be introduced maybe not episode 1 let them build up the essential characters like Clark, Jonathan, Martha, Chloe, Pete, Lex and Lionel and anyone else.
Then start an episode set in Metropolis woth Lois being the rebellious teenage daughter doing a petty crime like Graffiti or Shop lifting then running from the cops only to get caught and her father is called in and as punishment sends her to live with her Cousin this episode could be episode 5 or maybe even 6 or if you really pushed it maybe episode 14 after the resolution of the mid-season finale.
We could have episodes of Lois resisting falling into the comfort of the Small Town vibe but eventually after hanging out with Clark, Chloe, and Pete at the torch she gets roped into writing for the Torch and starts her on her journey from rebellious daughter to Ace Reporter.
She amd Clark are Chloe's feet on the ground, Pete acts as her in with the football players on something amd she acts as the info gatherer and hacker.
I think it would also set up Chloe's "Death" really well in season 4 so Lois can have been investigating since her supposed death and despite the general getting in her way she keeps digging and suddenly Clark shows up again and strange things start happening again and together after he regains his memory he helps her.
I would also have Lana and Clark get together a lot sooner or if not I'd wrap up their relationship sooner like have her leave that video like she does in the original series or actually kill her off eother one so that Clark and Lois can build their relationship it almost felt like thr Clark and Lana show by how long they dragged their relationship on for.
One other addition to this hyperthetical reboot I'd do is have Clark wear his Superman Suit a lot sooner and get him the ability to fly I probably would've had that ability after his rebirth like in the original series when he goes searching for the stones in Season 4 Episode 1 as Kal-El even after he regains his true self I'd have Clark gain the ability to fly.
That's all I can think that I'd change of the reboot maybe have more people find out his secret sooner as the amount of times he tip toes around goes to tell people butbthen changes his mind was really annoying so maybe tell Pete in Season 1 instead of Season 2.
Have Clark tell Chloe and Lois instead of then figuring it out. I'd also have while he hides the truth about his abilities from Lex I'd have that he does give certain truths like the fact he can read the symbols and whatnot he could even come up with lies like how he spent the time between season 3 and 4 studying the writinfs and discovered a pattern and now he can read the symbols.
Or something like that but now for my idea if they ever revived the series ckntinueing where they left off.
Depending ifnthey decided to do another season or make it a movie depends first off I'd have them make the comics canon for those who don't know they did a season 11 comic series a lot of shows did this back in the day as a way to keep the series going without the budget or slot for another season Charmed is another who did this.
But in the Season 11 Comics they also brought in some of the more iconic characters like Batman so ifnit was a sequel season I'd have them turn the comics into episodes maybe expanding them a bit to make them full episodes but I'd have the main antagonist be Darkside and have the final episodes be like a Smallville Version of the movie Justice League War.
I'd also have the actual character appear not be like a weird smoke cloud and have him looking for the Anti-Life Equation like he does in most versions if the character.
If it was a sequel movie I'd probably do the same thing only skim past unimportant plotpoints to build the new Justice League team with Oliver obviously but then bring Barry Allen and we learn that when Bart ran away from home he didn't realise he travelled back in time.
But yeah these are just some of my ideas how would you do things if you were given the power to revive Smallville and hownwould you go about it Reboot or Sequel?
I’ve failed horribly in so many relationships. I had 7 ACEs by 5 years old and always was a little emotionally stunted. I even had selective mutism all through school because I struggled with pragmatics. Social interactions would give me panic attacks.
I say all of this as I’ve failed horribly in so many relationships because I tried to be all of the things. One thing that I picked up being mostly silent during school is what peers looked for in relationships and I tried to model it. So it led to me having one consistent relationship at a time. I felt as if I’m in a romantic relationship, I cannot be a good friend, or if I’m a caregiver, I cannot be a good friend or in a romantic relationship.
I went on a few trips and inner work over the last 4 years and recently I have been hearing that I need to loosen my expectations of relationships as a whole so I did that and started challenging myself on exploring new partnerships and just matching their energy and just feeling overwhelmed because they are wanting plans about long term and I’m thinking of logistics as a caregiver that week.
What am I doing wrong? How can I better manage my expectations? How can I better communicate my lack of expectations other than to just have a good time? Even in my late thirties, I’m being told I should know what I want and I just want to enjoy what I have now because the future freaks me out. Even with what folks would consider purely physical it’s always about marriage as the end goal and that is not what I want but I also don’t want it to waste their time.
Tl;dr I need assistance adulting. How do I communicate or manage my expectations to a partner if we have different end goals in mind
Found bongs, rolling papers, grinders, pipes, bubblers. Is the argument to selling these items that it could be used for tobacco?
1 Wataru kurenai 2 Ace ukiyo 3 Aruto Hiden 4 Tokiwa Sougo 5 Ikki igarashi 6 hotsaro ichinose
My reasons for wataru being my number one is because he is introverted and doesn’t like taking to people which I can relate to and Ace is just a cocky guy
I’ve been looking at 08+ vettes as a daily car, I love them and have always wanted one, but it would be my daily if I got one, I know it’s the ls3 which is a fantastic engine, along with a 6l80, daily that’s still fun, price to performance is the best imo, I found one for sale has 139k on it for 18,500, is that a good deal? It also have all this done to it, Btr stage 2 N/A cam kit with springs and retainers ARP head bolts Summit harmonic balancer New water pump Meling oil pump Texas speed long tubes Texas speed x pipe Sip axle back Sip cold air intake New breaks. I don’t need 4 seats bc I’m never taking more than 1 extra person anywhere.
I got a motherboard off FB marketplace and the guy gave me this but not sure what brand it is.
It has 4 pipes
I've been stocking groceries for 25 years. Stocking these 40 count waters is really starting to do a number on my back. My last vacation i noticed sitting in my car for 30 minutes my back would start to get stiff and after an hour I would have constant pains in my lower back.
I used to not have that problem, but now I'm 44 and keep getting so stiff from doing water everyday. I don't know how I will be able to continue to do this throughout my 50's and 60's.
Over the years I thought about working with computers and really interested in getting into IT. The problem is I've been addicted to gaming my whole life since the 1980's till now.
My current addiction is Skyrim. I've been playing it for around a year and before that it was fallout 4. I keep telling myself I will limit my gaming time, but then I keep telling myself its going to take that much longer to complete everything.
By completing everything i mean by doing all completable quests including all guild quest's, main quest's, dlc quest's, modable area's like wymstooth, forgotton city, armorous questlines. Plus leveling all skills to get to max level while legend all of them to earn enough skill points to learn everything, have all the houses build, including the mod ones, learning all spells, learning all dragon shouts, ect. Doing all of this without fast travel and taking my time without doing any exploits. Oh and completing the dragonborn museum in solitude which has over 2000 items that can be displayed. Doing all these while focusing on one thing at a time.
Also I horde everything all minable points, all alchemy ingredients. I have two followers which I store everything on since they have infinite inventory space. I then sell all weapons and armors while saving up all the ores, ingredients, at least one of each enchanted item along with one of every other item so I can store all of this stuff in the dragonborn museum at some point.
Of course I had an itch to start a new character and now trying to do all this all over again.
Well at least now I just started walking and running while learning some warm up exercises and cooldown exercises which will get me out of the house early in the mourning, but then once I'm done I shower and then back to Skyrim every day. It is just limiting my time each day on it which is irritating me.
The reason I started to want a change is because I've tried to go to college several time over the years and can't seem to focus and never finished. Hopefully exercising daily will help me focus more if I do decide to go back to school. I just can't seem to let Skyrim go even though I've done almost everything already once over the years just never with the same character.
I've thought about majoring in Computer Science and becoming either a database admin or a network admin or something along those lines. I know If I go back to school and continue to work full time I will never seem to change careers. Have had the same job for 25 years and feeling stuck.
You think in time I will learn to let my gaming addiction go and not have the urge to start again? Should I try to limit my time on Skyrim to my days off or maybe don't play it on my days off and get out and explore the town?
I really don't know what would be best at this point. I'm just a completeness and have never done everything on one character. I'm starting to feel like this is a pipe dream that will never happen.
