i have perks to reduce Chem weight , ammo weight , power armor weight and more like weapons and stuff.
i have the armor with +100 Weight on.
and Sell Legendarys this way
1 star 15 caps , 2 star 40 caps , and 3 star 75-90 caps.
Blueprints are all Super cheap too , nades and stuff iam throwing away , and legendarys i started to sell to NPC too
How to manage storage in this game it feels like iam stopping soon because of that ( and this is with fallout first and scrap being in the premium box and ammo )

Yes, I had a lot of time. I originally played this game when it launched during the pandemic and stopped at 1k trophies, and picked it up again ~3 years later. I want to share my thoughts about the last ~15 days while it's still fresh and answer any questions people might have.
I have a 43% win rate in 3600 BR games, and 300+ games with each of the following heroes: Angel, Bastion, Blizzard, Blot, Cyclops, Ghost, Levi, Lynx, Ramsay, Raven, Sparkle, Vi. I have the most fun with Angel, Raven, Ramsay, and Lynx.
I've unlocked every hero except Alice, paid for Blizzard and Vi.
There's still plenty of bots in offpeak hours.
Early on when I was around 2k, I teamed up with some high trophy players and played in 10k games. That's when I learned first hand how much faster and aggressive the game was. On certain maps (Bank, Village, Hotel), fights will often initiate after picking up ~2 items.
As for bad manners, I'm used to it from playing plenty of other online games but enjoyed the fact that Bullet Echo largely doesn't have it. However at 7k+, now you get a lot of people bm'ing when they kill you, if two people fight over an item, etc. It most commonly manifests as sprays/stickers, but also a lot of head shaking and the occasional teamkill grenade for taking "their" item.
Pickup teams are a lot more mercenary. People join up, and if the team loses most will leave; there's little to no chat banter anymore. If someone misplays a few times, they often get kicked from the team, the team is disbanded, and/or they get defriended. This, uhh, has totally never happened to me.
The games are fast and brutal, and any small mistake is quickly exploited. My winrate has dropped significantly even when playing my better characters, but I'm learning. Pre-10k, I'd typically open 3x battle and skull chests under 30 minutes. Now, opening battle and skull chests has become significantly harder.
Outplaying Bastion is usually done through kiting or baiting and flanking with teammates since their range is too short and movement speed is too slow. Bastion (and Blot to an extent) is outclassed by more mobile shield heroes: Angel, Hurricane, Satoshi.
Leviathan gets a special call out since his turret is great for zoning and has extended spray that can be abused to hit behind walls.
I also have some bad experiences after teaming up with a bunch of Vi-only tryhards (about 6-8 different teammates for 5+ games each). They're generally incredibly aggressive and good at racking up a high kill count, but often lack map awareness or team dynamics besides spamming, "Let's go!".
I think there is an argument to be made about staying in purple 1. I found it significantly easier to win most of the contracts at purple 1, but I was grouped with all the other grinders once I hit purple 2. This may or may not be a red herring.
I think it's great for the first month or two for the personal gear and drone parts, but not sure if it's worth keeping afterwards.
I find sabo, SvS, and sometimes arcade in offpeak hours (or other region's servers) the easiest modes for bot farming.
Generally bots will collect a few items and start roaming looking for enemies. If a firefight ensues, the bots will start swarming towards noise like zombies.

Trophy Tiers
Broadly speaking, the percentage of poor players decreases as you gain higher trophies. Being completely honest, I saw a bunch of mistakes made by enemies, teammates, and myself at 9k trophies. At 10k+ trophies, most of the mistakes I see are my own.Low Tier: <3k
I have a second account on an old phone at this tier that I use to play under powered / rarely used heroes in casual games. It's mostly bots and occasional humans with rudimentary gameplay.Mid Tier: 3-7k
People are still misplaying all the time, but in general are improving and trying to coordinate as a team. Pickup teams are pretty easy to create and people are generally friendly. Honestly, I probably had the most fun at this tier since I enjoy playing the game casually with a variety of heroes and different team compositions (vs trying to win all the time).There's still plenty of bots in offpeak hours.
High Tier: >7k
This is the first tier where it starts to get competitive. The "end game." Heroes' power typically ranges 1650 - 2200 (Ultimate level 70 to Immortal), with the occasional Divine player. There's relatively few bots during peak times.The games are fast and brutal, and any small mistake is quickly exploited. Bastion
Bastion is great for bot farming and low / mid tier gameplay, but is easily outplayed in 7k+ games. I had a bunch of mid tier Bastion friends that I invited to 7k+ games and they've always left after a few games due to being outplayed.Outplaying Bastion is usually done through kiting or baiting and flanking with teammates since their range is too short and movement speed is too slow. Grenade Users (Firefly/Shenji/Sparkles/Freddie)
Pre-10k, most of these are terrible nade spammers hoping to get an easy kill. I've seen so many Firefly users use more nades than bullets in a round, adding little value chucking nades into thin air. Shenji users, please use your nades to zone the enemies and less about trying to kill them. Also stop burning the grass because you can, especially when you're up against snipers.Vi
My win rate with Vi is significantly higher than the rest of the field, which shows how broken she is. Tips
League
Climb as fast as you can, as high as you can since you get more loot per chest depending on your league level, and streaking gets harder the higher you climb in trophies. Bot farming (read below) is the easiest way to streak games and hit the next league level.I think there is an argument to be made about staying in purple 1. Spending Money
Contracts
- 7 day contract hacks (and assuming you have enough time to grind) is the most effective use of money.
- Consistently winning the 21 hr contract for 300 jokers is critical.
- 3 hr contract (particularly in off hours) can be pretty easy to win for 20 jokers.
- Read the contracts carefully. Often you can use a hero to progress against 2 or more contracts simultaneously.
- Bot farming and SvS is usually the easiest way to quickly get contract points.
- Ghost in koth is a great way to grind "The Collector" contract.
Star Pass
- I don't mind spending $15 to get the new hero via the base pass, but I don't think the premium pass is worth it.
- I didn't get tiers 2 and 3 for Vi but still got her to Stellar with a lot of grinding via contract hacks and jokers.
Technology
It's $10/mo. You get a random hero motivated and 8 drone plugins (2 of each color) per week, and 10 tech tokens/day. 70 tech tokens/week is enough to get drone blueprints, 2xpersonal gears boxes, some squad gear, 500 nuts, and 5 costume tokens. Also your name is highlighted in gold.I think it's great for the first month or two for the personal gear and drone parts, but not sure if it's worth keeping afterwards.
Bots
Recognizing bots means you can adapt your strategy when playing with and against them.Identification
Pre-game
- in the same bot syndicates: CCCP, Botsavethequeen, Botdamnit, 486DX, etc
- are listed after human players
- don't have drones
- never play as the newer characters: Blizzard, Vi, Shenji, Ramsay, Lynx, Tess
In game
- immediately opens chests
- goes in a straight line while swinging their flashlight, humans tend to run with their flashlight facing forward except when checking corners
- doesn't use any abilities
Farming (BR, SvS, sabo, koth)
Bot farming is a great way to hit the streak for a league jump or grind for festival tokens.I find sabo, SvS, and sometimes arcade in offpeak hours (or other region's servers) the easiest modes for bot farming.

- Not recommended: Ghost/Stalker (bots are not affected by cloak), Slayer (fire rate is too slow), SMG users (can't reload fast enough when swarmed)
As teammates
It sucks to get bots as teammates, but if you understand their behavior you can take advantage of it to try and win the round.- don't get sucked into unnecessary fights, let them die and don't bother reviving
- use them as dumb scouts to flank the enemy
- treat the round as a training exercise on how to win one-vs-many fights. It'll happen more and more often as you climb trophies
Drones
- medpro is great for tanks, assault rifles, and attacking SMGs (Angel, Alice, Freddie, Ghost)
- zenith is great for snipers, Raven/Ghost, 10k+ games
- guard is useless except for the occasional ability to zone enemies
In game tactics
This is already a long post, so I'll brain dump common improvements / mistakes that I come across. Feel free to ask questions in the comments.- Don't be greedy and go after risky upgrades. More often than not you're going to get sucked into an early fight. Even if you win that one, you'll quickly get swarmed by bots and/or other teams. It's not worth losing a round because you might get a purple upgrade.
- Don't be greedy for early ammo and upgrades. In 7k+ games, fights can/will happen by the time you've picked up 1-2 items. Taking multiple ammo means losing an effective teammate that can shoot a weapon. If you're a low ammo user (e.g. Vi, Slayer, Bastion), opt for a 2x or 3x ammo pack and leave the 4x ammo pack for high ammo users (e.g. SMGs, assault rifles). Leave and ping optimal upgrades for teammates. This means reserving scopes for snipers, armor for machine gunners, extended magazine for SMG/shotgunners, explosive ammo for DPS.
- Shotgun users should heal at spawn and save the armor pickup for others.
- Generally stick together as a team.
- Don't follow suiciders (bots/humans) and get sucked into unnecessary fights, preferring to fight 2v3v3v3. Yes this conflicts with the above bullet point.
- Learn the map. This means knowing where are the spawns, purple chests, hot zones, and choke points. This means you can anticipate where you'll need to slow down and prepare for a fight (e.g. early game near purple chests). In low/mid tiers, human teammates often run straight for a neighboring spawn while completely ignoring the safe purple chest right behind them because they run straight ahead in the direction they were facing when spawned. I find it easiest to familiarize myself with maps by using heroes with high vision like snipers (particularly Lynx) and Raven.
- Develop map awareness. You can tell who is left based on the gun sounds and the weapon in kill notifications. Generally avoid fights with many teams remaining, and go after the last two teams as they're fighting. If machine gunners are remaining, try to find open spaces. If snipers are remaining, try to initiate fights near corners and obstacles. In low/mid tiers, human teammates will often emulate bots and run straight towards the fight with a complete lack of map awareness.
- Good Shenji users use grenades to zone enemies rather than outright damage. Bad Shenji users kill their teammates / prevent them from being useful. If you're playing with a Shenji teammate, expect that they're going to nade everything and act accordingly.
- Tess users should try to use the lightning ball judiciously against enemy shields or to zone, and not disable their teammates' shields and abilities.
- Cyclops/Raven users should not spam their skill early game, and used selectively late game. It gives away your position and in high tier games only invites unwanted attention. Learn to use scan offensively and defensively when appropriate. At higher trophies, it can be used as a feint for an invasion or to lure enemies into a trap.
- SMG users should use stimpacks offensively rather than only to heal.
- There is a time to initiate and time to fall back. In early/mid tiers, people need to learn to retreat more often (and communicate it to their teammates). I wish I had more actionable advice, but I can tell when a fight was initiated well or poorly. Don't attack that unsuspecting enemy just because you can, but attack if it's the right time to do so.

If I hadn’t drunk an entire gallon of tea back at the hotel, maybe none of this would’ve happened.
Well, maybe if we hadn’t gotten kicked out of the hotel, none of this would’ve happened.
It had been just the two of us in the small car, but with the animosity heavy on the air, it felt overcrowded. I don’t know what had been worse, the hour of arguing, the two hours of silence afterwards, or the burgeoning realization that maybe I didn’t know him as well as I thought I did.
I studied him out of the corner of my eye. We'd been together for several months, but the recent experience left me wondering if I had ever even met the real Brian – who he truly was on the inside.
It had been our very first trip together.
We'd saved up for one of those super fancy hotels and had been having a great time – until, of course, Brian decided to attempt a five-finger discount in the jewelry store in the lobby.
He'd told me when we first started dating that he'd had some run-ins with the law in the past – when he was young and that was the only way to put food on the table, and I'd understood.
But this wasn't the same. It wasn't for survival, it was just greed.
We’d both spent the rest of our vacation money and then some, paying for that $1,800 watch so no charges would be pressed.
They still kicked us out. I don’t blame them.
Asking him to stop at the next place we came across was the first thing I'd said to him in hours, and he nodded, solemnly.
My discomfort was escalating to the point where I was considering asking him to pull over on the side of the road – rain be damned – when we saw the dim sign flickering in the distance.
The small store was out of place on the quiet, tree lined mountain road. We’d been deep in a tunnel of trees and hadn’t seen so much of a hint of the lights in the distance – it seemed to just appear into view as we went around the bend. I didn't recall seeing it on the way to the hotel, so it was a pleasant surprise.
I felt a flood of relief wash over me.
It stuck out in the otherwise beautiful mountain landscape – windows so dirty that the light inside barely reached us through them – several letters on the sign lit up in such a way that the only word we could even see was a blood red '- MART' flickering.
Any relief I'd managed to feel was short-lived.
When we walked in, we both froze as we took in the interior.
I instantly wished we’d just stopped by the side of the road after all. I looked at Brian and could tell he felt it too – he was fiddling with his new watch and took off his glasses, cleaned them on his shirt, and put them back on, as if that would make what he was seeing make more sense.
There were no other customers, no employees visible, it was just the two of us.
Ceiling tiles hung askew, and the floor was filthy – we had to step over a drain in the floor with grimy stains circling it, to walk in.
If it weren’t for the lights, gentle hum of the AC, and grinding sounds floating from down the long hallway at the back, I’d have thought the place was abandoned.
It was humid inside, and the smell coming from the old coolers that lined the back walls hit me as soon as we walked in. It reminded me of the summer my dad had decided to dabble in taxidermy in our basement.
The slight hint of rot that lingered on the damp air indicated poorly done taxidermy, at that.
As I darted towards the back towards the restroom sign, a placard dangling off it caught my eye, informed me the restroom was for paying customers only.
I quickly perused the shelves for something to buy. The aisles were tall, nearly to the ceiling, and despite the store being somewhat small, I felt the panicked sense of being cornered and trapped in an endless maze – at risk of becoming lost in there forever. The food on the shelves resembled nothing like the usual chips and candy these types of stores carried – there were rows upon rows of soft looking mystery items in plastic wrap, some of them leaked a red-brown residue down the shelves – none of it looked remotely appealing.
I passed by a section with a stained placard that said ‘handcrafted from local artists’ that was filled with eclectic items, none of which seemed to go together.
There were torn shirts with random logos – nothing related to the town or area we were in, stained with mud, grass, and god knows what else. Dried ropy things formed small and delicate sculptures of animals unlike any I’d seen before. I reached for a bracelet with intricately carved white beads but nearly dropped it when I realized the band was made up of woven human hair. It left a residue on my hand, and I noticed then that the same sour-rot smell was coming from the collection of items, too.
I opted for a flat and lukewarm Dr. Pepper instead, and placed two $2 dollar coins on the glass counter in front of the hand scrawled ‘shoplifters will be processed’ sign near the register.
I figured I misread it, after all it, looked like it had been written by a hand unused to holding a pen.
Brian had grabbed an armful of those unnerving plastic-wrapped packages but hovered at the counter a bit too long. I could hear the scrape of him retrieving the coins on the glass, the sound of him dropping them into his pocket.
He gave me a pointed stare as he did so.
I sighed, so tired of arguing that I just walked away from him and down the hallway. I figured I’d pay (again) after he got back in the car.
No sooner had I closed the door to the women’s room behind me, than I could hear him talking to someone.
His voice rose until he was nearly yelling. Mortified and trying to delay being involved in another incident that day, I splashed water on my face while trying to drown out what appeared to be a one-sided argument.
I kept trying to wash the grimy feeling that had lingered on my hands after picking up the bracelet, but no matter how I scrubbed, I couldn’t get it off – it kept getting worse.
I felt nauseous when I realized the greasy residue was coming from the pale-yellow bar of soap. I decided I’d scrub my hands raw at our next stop, and stepped out into the hall and back to the store.
Brian wasn’t there.
I called out for him, but all I heard in answer was that same vague whirring and drilling sound coming from further down the long hallway.
I double-backed to the car, but found it empty.
I circled the store, my frustration turning to panic as I shouted his name and still got no response.
I called his phone, it just rang, and rang before going to voicemail.
The car was locked and he had the keys, I couldn’t help but feel nervous, standing out there in the rain. We were still in the middle of the deep woods and with clouds obscuring the light of the moon and stars, the area was blanketed in darkness. I reluctantly headed back inside.
Somehow, the smell had managed to become even worse – I gagged when the wet, disgusting air hit my nose again. It was so strong I could nearly taste it, putrid on my tongue.
I couldn’t shake the feeling that there was always someone just behind me as I walked quickly through the tall aisles, but whenever I looked over my shoulder, there was never anything there.
I called his phone, wondering how I’d managed to lose him in such a small store when I finally heard it ringing – it was echoing from down that long hallway.
As I headed towards it, I heard someone moving on the other side of the floor-to-ceiling aisle, placing something onto the shelf with a sickening wet thud, before weaving lithely through the aisles behind me.
“Brian?” I called out softly, trying to convince myself that everything was fine – trying to disguise my fear.
I knew it wasn’t him – I don’t know how, but I knew it. Have you ever had the feeling that if you look closely enough at something, if you truly see it, you’ll never be able to close your eyes again without it haunting you? That feeling of being in close proximity to something that your fragile mind was never meant to know existed?
I forced myself to turn around anyways.
Once again, whoever or whatever had been there was gone by the time I rounded the aisle, but I heard a gentle clinking sound, and saw a trail of red-pink droplets.
I followed it back to that section – handcrafted from local artists, there was something new hanging from a hook near the shelves – wet, glistening strips dangled from along what looked to be a curved bone with bits of gristle still attached. From one of them hung an expensive men’s wristwatch, another was tied around a shattered, thick glasses lens. Yet another sagged under the weight of car keys. They gently swayed with the motion of having been recently placed. Fluid continued to drip from the still wet viscera and mingled with the mud on my shoes.
Shoplifters will be processed
I didn’t need to see the items down the other aisles to figure out what I was looking at, what must have happened.
I could already tell that we’d never have another argument, ever again.
I heard a door open and close in the back, soft footsteps approaching from down that hallway.
I realized that in my distraction, I'd forgotten to put money back on the counter.
I choked up, but knew there was nothing I could do for him. So, I tossed the first bills I found in my purse onto the floor, frantically untangled the car keys, and in shock, I drove myself the remaining four-hour drive home.
Every so often, along the quiet country roads – those I could've sworn were empty on the drive up – I’d see that grimy building, the sign, '-MART' flashing in the distance.
I didn’t stop once.
I've been home for a week now.
A few nights ago, something triggered a motion alert on my video doorbell, but there was no one there when I checked the footage.
The next morning, I found a cardboard box on my porch – with no stamp or return address.
In it was a torn t-shirt, and several of those now-familiar wrapped packages, putrid fluid leaking out of them through the bottom of the soggy cardboard.
I've received a similar box every night, since.
I don't know if it's meant as a threat, or if due to some sort of twisted interpretation – I’m now a 'paying customer’ – he's slowly being returned to me.
Either way, it turns out that I've gotten to see who Brian was on the inside, after all.

I work in dermatology. Today I accidentally stuck myself with a 30G hollow bore needle after numbing a patient (age 80s). My boss had advised me to unscrew needles from the syringes before placing them in the sharps box to save space (I know it’s an unsafe practice, I should have known better than to listen). My finger bled afterwards and I washed my hands with soap and water. I gave the patient a lab slip for blood borne illnesses and I’m crossing my fingers they get it done. There was no visible blood on the needle and the patient appears to be relatively low risk. I used an MDcalc decision tool that estimated risk of transmission of HIV is less than .0001%. I can’t find any clear cut protocols for needle stick injury and I work for a private practice that doesn’t have one. What would you do?
Update: my office has a “protocol,” but neither the doctor nor office manager are familiar with it and they didn’t have the document readily available. I just got off the phone with PEP National Clinician Consultation Center and was advised because the patient doesn’t have any high risk factors, PEP is not recommended.
Update #2: thank you all for your advice and responses. My updated question is: does anyone have recommended resources for creating an occupational exposure protocol in an outpatient setting?

If you're interested in baby registry boxes but don't know which one to try or how to even sign up for them I have some info for you here! I got boxes/bags from Target, Walmart, Amazon, Hey Milestone, Babylist, and Similac and I'm still waiting for a box from Enfamil. I'm not an influencer or someone paid by these companies I just really like surprise boxes of stuff. I have pictures but I don't know how to add them. Anyway onto the lists.

How to get: This appears to have changed recently. According to target.com you join the Target Circle rewards, create a baby registry, add 10 items, and spend $10 from registry (either yourself of someone else). You have to pick up the bag in store with a barcode they give to you and it can be somewhat difficult to get since supplies are limited. When I did this in March all I had to do was create a registry and then go to the store to pick up the bag.

Plus I didn’t get the Dude Wipes people were getting and I was looking forward to them lol. The Babylist box was the best of the bunch, which is good considering the hoops you have to jump through to get it. Hey Milestone was great for the butt paste and bottle alone. According to target.com you join the Target Circle rewards, create a baby registry, add 10 items, and spend $10 from registry (either yourself of someone else). You have to pick up the bag in store with a barcode they give to you and it can be somewhat difficult to get since supplies are limited. When I did this in March all I had to do was create a registry and then go to the store to pick up the bag.

2024.05.13 22:44 muk559 Base Tip: Make it mobile!
I'm by no means a pro but I do have a tip I don't see used often. Blueprinting is a great feature but its extremely limited. I have a mobile base blueprinted so I can easily move around where I need. Its a 2x2 and 1 high. With this footprint, its easily placed almost anywhere. Inside it, I have my reactor, shop, Core charger, ammo converter, stash box and the small vault. On top, I have a heavy laser turret on each corner. The entrance has stairs attached to it so no matter the terrain, I have easy access. This leaves a little blueprint points to add and decorate in your own way. With this setup, I can easily move to where I need. Place camp, place blueprint, place miner, attach power to one of four turrets, then go about my business. I use my vault to place my work benches or show off my building skills (or lack thereof).

2024.05.13 22:40 aristhought PSA: Is this a crow in need of help, or is it just a fledgling?
It’s crow nesting and fledging season! A fledgling is a young bird that has just left the nest, and is not yet a fully grown adult.
I’ve seen several posts in this subreddit recently showing concern over a fledgling crow and wondering if it’s injured or how to help it, thinking it might be an adult crow in trouble. All very well meaning, and can’t blame anyone for wanting to help! However, fledglings are usually doing just fine and do not need human intervention, even if they look a little silly and clumsy.
Here’s how to recognize a crow fledgling (non conclusive list, and sometimes they don’t have all of these features but it’s a great place to start):
The general rule of thumb is, if you see a fledgling, leave it alone. It is being cared for and watched by adults - even if you can’t see the adults yourself - and is in an important stage of its development into a full grown adult. It is not recommended to directly feed a fledgling as they’re still very young and may have different tolerances to certain food; adult crows will feed it and hydrate it appropriately.
If it is a particularly hot day, it might be nice to leave a dish of water out. (However there is no need to try and directly hydrate the fledgling, it will either drink it itself or the adults will use it to soak food to feed to it).
The caveat to putting out water is to check if bird flu is spreading in your area. If that’s the case, it may be risky to do this, and definitely follow your local guidelines (some places will recommend against birdfeeders and water dishes).
If you do put out water, you need to very frequently wash the dish with soap and change the water. (Probably a good idea to do this regardless of if bird flu is an issue, as standing water can spread disease between animals fairly easily).
When is it OK to intervene?
Occasionally, a fledgling IS in need of help.
A fledgling outside the nest is normal, a nestling outside is not. Nestlings look far more like what we see in our heads when we think of baby birds - they’ll look quite naked (fledglings on the other hand have full bodies of fluff/new feathers) and quite a bit smaller. If you see a nestling out of the nest, it may have fallen. If it doesn’t look visibly injured (blood/broken bones), try and find the nest nearby and put it back. The myth about birds abandoning their babies if a human touches it is false.
Occasionally, crows (and other birds) will deliberately push a nestling out of the nest. This seems cruel on the surface, but sometimes they do this if they sense the nestling is very sick or something about it might compromise the wellbeing of the rest of the babies. This is pretty rare though, so unless you see a nestling that is visibly sick or injured, definitely go the route of trying to put it back.
If you can’t seem to find the nest, a good bet (if you have the time) is to stay nearby but out of the way of the area. Adult crows will fly in and out of their nests periodically as they take turns taking care of the babies and going out to find food or to keep watch. You can probably spot the nest by keeping an eye out for an adult coming back and maybe disappearing into tree foliage.
Next steps
In the chance that you: - find a nestling that’s either injured/sick, or you absolutely cannot find the nest it fell from - find a fledgling that’s obviously injured or abandoned
Call a wildlife rehabilitation centre ASAP. Do NOT try to feed it or give it anything, nestlings in particular are very vulnerable and they can easily choke on food/water. Only adult crows and trained professionals should be feeding nestlings, and even though fledglings are older, it’s best not to do it yourself as well. It may very well do more harm.
Adult crows might get very mad and divebomb you if you approach/touch a nestling or a fledgling. It’s not personal, they’re just protective of their young and even in cases when their young need help, they have no idea that you’re trying to help it.
Try and wear a hat or hold an umbrella if they’re swooping at you. In the future, to prevent crow grudges, just offer the adults unsalted peanuts or something healthy for crows to regain their trust. (This may take a few tries, but crows do learn and adjust their opinions on people).

I’ve seen several posts in this subreddit recently showing concern over a fledgling crow and wondering if it’s injured or how to help it, thinking it might be an adult crow in trouble. All very well meaning, and can’t blame anyone for wanting to help! However, fledglings are usually doing just fine and do not need human intervention, even if they look a little silly and clumsy.
Here’s how to recognize a crow fledgling (non conclusive list, and sometimes they don’t have all of these features but it’s a great place to start):
- Pink around their beaks/pinkish mouths
- Paleish blue eyes
- Fluffy feathers
- Pin feathers on the underside of their wings where their flight feathers are growing in (they look like long white tubes and can be seen sometimes if they’re flapping their wings)
- Caws/noises that are more frantic and high pitched than adult crows
- “Please feed me, mom!” behaviour, where they open their beaks, lean back, and frantically flap their wings and caw loudly
The general rule of thumb is, if you see a fledgling, leave it alone. It is being cared for and watched by adults - even if you can’t see the adults yourself - and is in an important stage of its development into a full grown adult. It is not recommended to directly feed a fledgling as they’re still very young and may have different tolerances to certain food; adult crows will feed it and hydrate it appropriately.
If it is a particularly hot day, it might be nice to leave a dish of water out. (However there is no need to try and directly hydrate the fledgling, it will either drink it itself or the adults will use it to soak food to feed to it).
The caveat to putting out water is to check if bird flu is spreading in your area. If that’s the case, it may be risky to do this, and definitely follow your local guidelines (some places will recommend against birdfeeders and water dishes).
If you do put out water, you need to very frequently wash the dish with soap and change the water. (Probably a good idea to do this regardless of if bird flu is an issue, as standing water can spread disease between animals fairly easily).
When is it OK to intervene?
Occasionally, a fledgling IS in need of help.
- If it is in a particularly busy or high risk area (by the road, near where there are outdoor cats, etc), you can very gently move it to somewhere safer nearby. Do not move it very far because the parents will be looking for it.
- If it is obviously injured (bleeding, broken/twisted wing, if you saw it be attacked), keep an eye on it and call a wildlife rehabilitation centre asap. More info near the end of this post about next steps in this case.
- If it seems abandoned (if no adults return for a LONG time - many hours or a full day or night), I would also call a rehab centre first and keep an eye on it. Keep in mind that it is normal for adults to leave fledglings alone in a spot for some time during its maturation, and just because you don’t see an adult doesn’t mean it’s abandoned. Furthermore, adult birds sometimes don’t approach their fledglings if there’s a human nearby, so give it some space and observe from a good distance if necessary.
A fledgling outside the nest is normal, a nestling outside is not. Nestlings look far more like what we see in our heads when we think of baby birds - they’ll look quite naked (fledglings on the other hand have full bodies of fluff/new feathers) and quite a bit smaller. If you see a nestling out of the nest, it may have fallen. If it doesn’t look visibly injured (blood/broken bones), try and find the nest nearby and put it back. The myth about birds abandoning their babies if a human touches it is false.
Occasionally, crows (and other birds) will deliberately push a nestling out of the nest. This seems cruel on the surface, but sometimes they do this if they sense the nestling is very sick or something about it might compromise the wellbeing of the rest of the babies. This is pretty rare though, so unless you see a nestling that is visibly sick or injured, definitely go the route of trying to put it back.
If you can’t seem to find the nest, a good bet (if you have the time) is to stay nearby but out of the way of the area. Adult crows will fly in and out of their nests periodically as they take turns taking care of the babies and going out to find food or to keep watch. You can probably spot the nest by keeping an eye out for an adult coming back and maybe disappearing into tree foliage.
Next steps
In the chance that you: - find a nestling that’s either injured/sick, or you absolutely cannot find the nest it fell from - find a fledgling that’s obviously injured or abandoned
Call a wildlife rehabilitation centre ASAP. Do NOT try to feed it or give it anything, nestlings in particular are very vulnerable and they can easily choke on food/water. Only adult crows and trained professionals should be feeding nestlings, and even though fledglings are older, it’s best not to do it yourself as well. It may very well do more harm.
Adult crows might get very mad and divebomb you if you approach/touch a nestling or a fledgling. It’s not personal, they’re just protective of their young and even in cases when their young need help, they have no idea that you’re trying to help it.
Try and wear a hat or hold an umbrella if they’re swooping at you. In the future, to prevent crow grudges, just offer the adults unsalted peanuts or something healthy for crows to regain their trust. (This may take a few tries, but crows do learn and adjust their opinions on people).

Afterthoughts
Small haul for a small bonus today. I put together that part of the haul last night, and once I saw the $5 / 10 bonus, I completely forgot to check every other app, haha. Technically a slight profit loss meeting my IB bonus today, but that's okay because I'm making progress towards my bigger bonus. If I were to prorate that bonus, that'd be an extra $4.52, so it's definitely worth it.My Beneful finally stopped resetting, unfortunately. Hopefully the Mac a Roni and butter keep resetting. Here's an idea: Mix up a white cheddar Mac a Roni, with your choice of ham, sausage, chicken, pork, or one of the vegan meat alternatives. Add a little soy sauce, and some green peas if you wish. You could even add some extra butter and milk (or plant based milk) to make it a bit creamier. Serve with a slice of buttered toast or some Jasmine Rice. Perhaps make a little Banana bread for dessert. First things first, I am not good at Apex, I play for fun and I don't get a whole lot of time to play because I'm working like a lot of other people who play this game, so I'm not saying this from a "higher than thou" perspective.
I notice A LOT of people complaining about being tossed into lobbies with higher ranking and higher skilled players and how unfair it is and to be honest with you, I don't get it. I grew up playing pickup basketball or pickup football against the most random people who had skills of all kinds of ranges, some cracked out undiscovered diamonds of talent (not me) to those who are basically designated mascots (me). Any time we played against or with people of obvious higher talents and skills we loved it. It was our opportunity to learn and improve whether we asked questions or just watched how they played it was our learning experience. I personally take that same perspective into video games.
I don't get mad or upset if I get worked by a higher ranking player (I'm hard locked silver btw lol) in pubs or even in ranked or when ranks reset, I might get frustrated that I wasn't able to win that fight, but I don't get mad at the game or at the player who beat me. I take it as an opportunity to learn or improve,I replay that gun fight in my mind and try to identify where I went wrong and what I could do differently and sometimes I'll even spectate them to see how and what they're doing to play well and win more fights.
Yeah, not everyone is like that, I get it, but you can't expect to get better by playing against lower skilled or equally skilled opponents. If I beat someone of my same rank/skill I'm like "Cool, that was good." But when I beat an opponent who is higher ranking than me or I win an intense gun fight against an obviously higher talented player I'm like "WOAH, LETS FREAKING GOOOOOOOO!!!!" It feels so much better and I feel like I can only get more consistent with that by continuing to face those higher leveled opponents.
Even if I face a whole team of them I can usually point out in hindsight where I messed up, whether it's not reading the recon icons properly, scanning at a new POI, not assessing properly my opponents and what they're doing, or just simply not hitting my shots.
But yeah, that's my soap box, I'll step down now. I just keep seeing these posts and I'm curious as to if anyone else has the same perspective I have when it comes to playing videogames/FPSBR.

I grew up playing pickup basketball or pickup football against the most random people who had skills of all kinds of ranges, some cracked out undiscovered diamonds of talent (not me) to those who are basically designated mascots (me). Any time we played against or with people of obvious higher talents and skills we loved it. It was our opportunity to learn and improve whether we asked questions or just watched how they played it was our learning experience. I personally take that same perspective into video games.
I don't get mad or upset if I get worked by a higher ranking player (I'm hard locked silver btw lol) in pubs or even in ranked or when ranks reset, I might get frustrated that I wasn't able to win that fight, but I don't get mad at the game or at the player who beat me. I take it as an opportunity to learn or improve,I replay that gun fight in my mind and try to identify where I went wrong and what I could do differently and sometimes I'll even spectate them to see how and what they're doing to play well and win more fights.
Yeah, not everyone is like that, I get it, but you can't expect to get better by playing against lower skilled or equally skilled opponents. If I beat someone of my same rank/skill I'm like "Cool, that was good." But when I beat an opponent who is higher ranking than me or I win an intense gun fight against an obviously higher talented player I'm like "WOAH, LETS FREAKING GOOOOOOOO!!!!" It feels so much better and I feel like I can only get more consistent with that by continuing to face those higher leveled opponents.
Even if I face a whole team of them I can usually point out in hindsight where I messed up, whether it's not reading the recon icons properly, scanning at a new POI, not assessing properly my opponents and what they're doing, or just simply not hitting my shots.
But yeah, that's my soap box, I'll step down now. I just keep seeing these posts and I'm curious as to if anyone else has the same perspective I have when it comes to playing videogames/FPSBR.

2 issues: the one I bought in February does not last nearly as long as the one I bought in 2020 but it seems to maybe be an issue with the trays as I've seen multiple ppl have this issue recently where they last 2 weeks AT MOST before stinking up the house or soaking through the cardboard tray.
When I clean the box and change the trays, I wash the whole thing with soap(dawn) and water bc I feel the smell sticks too much to the machine itself. I apparently got too much water on the machine part and now it won't rake it all.
My question is, should I get a litter robot or a new petsafe? I keep hearing about the LR but this page seems to be filled with a host of problems with it, in addition to the price. but I also have problems with my petsafe one too :(

I've had a great time with Forbidden West, not as great as Zero Dawn thou still great.
Ive had no next to no problem with the story other than it felt too short and I wanted MORE. Which is a weird point of criticism "there wasn't enough of it" is a half handed Praise. It could probably be around 1000h of play time and I would still be like "thats it?"
What I want to talk about first is crafting. I might get a little more negative than first intended, I just wish you keep in mind, I still loved the game. This stuff just urks me so hard, I want it to be better than it is.
Intro Big minus for me is how you obtain weapons and the "crafting" system if you can actually call it that. With the exception of one Quen NPC, all of them hand you air and you pocked that air into Aloys buttocks, then you suddenly have a new weapon in your inventory. That's a minor nitpick but it correlates to the following stuff. When I learned there is a new crafting system I was ecstatic. I imagined myself taking down machines and then using their parts to build my own weapons, and then modify them with other machine parts. imagine "Charger thigh bones" being good early game bow limbs with a Borrower Soundshell being a good Grip. Then later, yeah this Machine part is a better bow limb, oh wow these machine parts give a bow overdraw, I'll build it into my Sharpshooter! Oh This cable I use as a bow string is really silent after release! I bet it would be great for a more stealthy approach!
Example "Thank you for your help Aloy, I'm a poor peasant and don't have a lot to give you, especially not a Weapon worth hundreds or over a thousand shards! But take this schematic of a Bolt blaster, there are ways to modify them! I bet other Oseram have more blueprints for you!"
Put the crafting into crafter Aloy is supposed to be a good crafter yet she never crafts anything other than 4 quest items. Hunting grounds could still award medals you can trade in for legendary Weapon components. Traders could still sell weapon components that you can't get in the wild so they can keep them if they absolutely want them. I wholeheartedly believe that this execution would be 100% better than the one now.Imagine after you decide which parts you want to use to build a weapon you get a short animation of Aloy assembling it a la Monster Hunter Cat Kitchen.
Current system Rant It sucks that first Aloy breathes in a Thunderjaw Tail, the size of an SUV in less than 0,01 seconds, 5 TIMES. And them she can just click... hold... woopdidoo 15% dmg increase against flying targets! OW MWAY GAWD 15% MORE ARIAL... you get what I mean.
Detachment mechanic Even the mechanic to have to shoot of parts otherwise they get destroyed. How does that make sense? Why does a Frostclaw Sack webbing stay intact after I destroy the machine, when it FALLS ON IT yet a tail hammer that can pulverize whole rock formation pops like a soap bubble the second the thing attached to it falls to 0 HP? I don't think I've ever clicked on anything faster than than the "easy loot" toggle after I found it. If you ask me, NOT damaging a weak spot, to "HARVEST" and USE it later makes "a little" more sense and is actually MUCH HARDER if your intend is to take down the machine not, break of something and scurry away like a cockroach. Like, if I want to use the fur of some game for a mantle. I will try not to pierce the parts of the fur I need. Cavemen understood that. I can't shake the feeling that this "crafting" was a corporate shortcut to say "See? we made a crafting system! Just like you wanted us to! Isn't it great!" While counting the money they saved on an actual crafting system.
More Examples Just like with with armor. This Frostclaw webbing has great insulation properties I bet I could use it in an armor to protect myself from the cold.
Wow these Shell snapper Armor plates are incredibly sturdy! I wonder if I can make some armor pieces out of it, That protect me from melee attacks.
Glint Hawks! I could take them down! Their Wing plates are super light. Armor made out of them might give me better movability.
I need more protection against arrows if I want to fight these "generic Bad guys" maybe if I can find a Long leg and use its soundsack webbing as an piercing resistant armor lining! (just an example)
A Thunderjaw! It's tail would be a great addition to a fortress wall, to bad it probably weighs 20-30 times my weight and I could never move it. But it's armor plating is among the strongest amongst the machines. I BET THAT COULD BE USED for something.
Gamification I get that a lot of this is gamified for the sake of gamification. It's just feels like lazy and bad gamification. I will still aim for weak spots to take down a machine, even if I don't have to break it off.
Corporate Rant If it is about budget then I'd recommend to move the budget of the "Discount Zelda Puzzle Division" to where it is more useful. And don't get me started on the pull caster ripping steal-beams out of concrete debris.
After word While I the changes to combat where exceptionally well implemented and think almost all of the weapons are awesome, except maybe the traps, and trip caster (the shield one is cool and all but A it makes the shield perk useless and B I really don't understand what it is for, since Rebels always just walk through it to wack me with sticks. Which is kinda understandable if I'm honest.) The crafting they implemented is not very good, lacks innovation and actual effort/care. I will pray to the Universe that someone at Guerilla will read this and be like;
"That arrogant prick might actually have a point"
Until the next parts where I will rip out the pull casters major flaw, point out Aloy is not a muscle head, and gush over the NPCs and my beloved brother in Arm Kotallo (new favourite NPC)

TL;DR: The Zephyrus G14, Legion Slim 5 14", and Envy x360 are all solid in their own ways, when configured correctly.
Long Version
My 2020 Envy x360 is getting a bit long in the tooth. It's a 15.6" Ryzen 5 3500U. I work from home, travel internationally for work (manufacturing), and I enjoy a bit of light gaming. My goal is/was to check as many boxes as possible for light and portable, a nice display, and some mild gaming capability. The 15.6" form factor is a bit too large for use in economy airline seating, hence the downsize to 14". I was also aiming to keep this below $1,200 all-in.
Over the past month I've been trying out several laptops before making a final selection. I've no affiliation with BestBuy, but I'd like to note their $50 membership to get the benefit of 60-day returns. Totally worth it to try out so many different laptops before deciding which to live with.
Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 (2023 and 2024)
I sought out a lightly used G14 from 2023 since you can add 1 SO-DIMM to expand memory capacity. I also tried out a 2024 model with soldered memory. Beautiful OLED displays, segment-leading performance, highly recommend uninstalling the Asus software for GHelper. My biggest gripes with the Zephyrus lineup is how hot and loud they run (keyboard gets too hot to the touch) and they're a bit too flashy looking. LEDs on the lid are a bit much. If I didn't want a touchscreen, I'd look for a lightly used 2023 model for under $900.
Lenovo Legion Slim 5 14.5" (2024)
I read some reviews commending the Slim 5 series for running cool and quiet and for flying under the radar. After running this laptop for a couple weeks I can confirm. With the optional 140W charger I was able to run RDR2 at very high settings on a long flight to Europe. Keyboard gets warm but never hot. Beautiful OLED screen. Ports are mostly on the back of the unit which is ideal for docking at a desktop. The Lenovo software has less features than the Asus counterpart but there is a 3rd party option with Lenovo Legion Toolkit. Power management is a bit hinky when using LLT + UXTU. I never was quite clear which software took the lead for controlling power states but setting start-up profiles for plugged/unplugged was pretty easy. I was able to get around 7 hours in Eco/Quiet mode emailing and running excel at 30-50% brightness. This is a great alternative to the G14 with it's larger screen, fantastic cooling, and excellent port placement.
Lenovo Yoga 7 14" (2024)
I wanted to try out another 2-in-1 because the touch screen + pen combo is handy for note taking, whiteboard sketching, and redlining drawings and blueprints. Good build quality and port selection. Edit: Correction, USB 4.0 seems to be available on the Yoga 7 AMD models. The PSREF product page for the 14AHP9 does show the front left USB C port is indeed USB 4.0. There seem to be inconsistencies with the marketing materials on Lenovo's website. The base IPS screen only has ~45% color gamut and looks very washed out. Coming from the OLEDs, the IPS was a major disappointment. Similar keyboard to the Legion, a bit "clicky" with a sudden breakover. Doesn't include a pen! You can get an OLED in the Yogo 9 or a 100% sRGB IPS on the Yogo Pro 7 variant but both cost several hundred more. Similar to the HP Spectres, the Yoga 9s have an inferior port selection in favor of a slimmer chassis.
HP Envy x360 14" (2024)
The off the shelf model has a better IPS screen than the Lenovos with ~65% sRGB but it still doesn't hold a candle to the OLEDs or 100% sRGB IPS offerings. The Envy lineup has significantly better port selection than the Spectre x360s but no USB 4. Worth noting the units from BestBuy do not include a pen, so you can add another $50-120 for the pen you want. The keyboard feels very nice, good amount of force required for breakover and I'm enjoying typing on this model more than the Lenovos. The Envy with the 8840HS seems a bit power hungry and will require some power state tweaking. Without changing any power settings I dropped 20% of the battery life over the course of a 90 minutes web browsing and typing this out in MS Edge, screen is at 30% brightness. Ultimately I enjoy using this Envy more than the comparable Lenovo Yoga.
Conclusion
I really dislike HP and their CEO but there is no denying they make a darn fine laptop. This morning I submitted a custom order to HP for a 14" Envy x360 that I decked out: 8840HS, 32GB RAM, OLED, 1TB SSD with 4 PCIE lanes, WiFi 7 chip. Came in just under $1,300 after taxes and rush shipping. This model includes HP's MPP2.0 pen. It will be more power hungry than this IPS model so I will certainly be using UXTU to help control power consumption. It's been fun nerding out and trying different laptops but I'm happy to settle down for the long haul with another Envy.
