Hello there! I'm fairly new to pokerouge and rouge-likes in general, and am on my 3rd run. It has been going wonderfully. I'm running a semi-decent team, but have run into the run-consuming wall that is level 25 Ivy. I've lost all of my prior runs to her and thought this wonderful, exp filled run would be different. My fake out Meowth would surely clean up all of her Pokémon right? ... So I'm currently retried this battle about a dozen times now and here I am. This is less about saving my Pokémon since honestly I'm going to dump half of them(looking at you rivalry-synxy who's ability I forgot to swap at the beginning) and more about sending a message. I want to run it in the face of the text box telling me it's okay to lose, I want to be the one to come out on top. I'd also like to preserve my x3 experience share but don't worry about that.
Instead of stretching this out further I'd simply like to present the main problem at hand. The current biome I'm in had strong sunlight, so I had oddish take the lead with chlorophyll active and +6 sp.atk. Then the battle begins and my now back to base stat oddish is facing a level 18 torracat. Wonderfully. And that is only the beginning...

I’m addicted to certain creators content. Niche internet celebrities. I have dreams about them and obsess about them. Im in love with someone who will never know me. This is a question that can realistically be applied to hetero-normative relationships, but my partner is transitioning and this space felt more applicable. The County budget. What's going on here?

I'm finding out something about writing about budgets. Having eyesight good enough to pour through these figures is vital. Sadly, my eye surgery won't be until July so a real time budget analysis will simply prove too big a task for me to do well. I can cover some highlights and ask a few pertinent questions though.
For starters is every Knox County employee outside of the schools really happy about taking a pay cut? This is six straight years they've gone backwards under Glenn Jacobs. While I understand that my platform which emphasized across the board raises until we got County employees up to a competitive pay level with living wages was soundly rejected, but are County employees really happy with getting screwed every single year? You have to wonder.
Second, what kind of feedback is the Sheriff's office giving about the Mayor taking back the raise that didn't even get the deputies up to professional standard? After this year, our deputies will once again be among the lowest paid officers with some of the worst benefits in the nation. I understand many of the culture problems and quality control issues in the Sheriff's department, but it's time we recognized that we get what we pay for in law enforcement. We won't provide full health insurance and we no longer have a pension for our deputies, at least not in any meaningful sense. We are just going to have to live with the quality level the Mayor is willing to fund. If all the Mayor is willing to shell out for is a group of jack-booted gestapo who depend on graft to make ends meet, then that's what we're going to get. This is still a market economy. Pay rates still determine the quality of our employees.
Third, are the teachers really going to fall for the same scam the Mayor pulled on said deputies last year? Their raise is only significant when viewed through a lens comparing it to the way Jacobs has been bending them over and screwing them for the past six years. The School Board is not only showing support for the local Nazis attempting to ban books, but now they've given the nod nod wink wink to allowing guns in schools. What kind of irresponsible self serving totalitarians can completely ignore the real long term needs and goals of our school system and just discount the need to recruit and retain teachers as superfluous. The leadership of this School Board acts completely in the interests of pursuing partisan political goals. That is the very definition of terrorism. We need dedicated public servants in the role of School Board chair, not terrorists. Unless we demand a change in philosophy, that change won't come. Partisan political goals have no place in our school system and allowing the local crypto-nazis to determine the path our schools take is definitely the wrong way to go.
When is the Mayor going to come clean on the Choto/Northshore improvements? We have not completed the projects Ragsdale started and frankly, what the County is in charge of, with the possible exception of some of the greenway work Larsen Jay has championed, that stretch of road looks like shit and is less than functional depending on the time of day.
Fourth, where is the covid response money at in this budget? Last week we averaged ten patients a day in the hospital with covid at an uninsured rate of somewhere north of 15%. That works out to 15,000 a day or over five million a year in indigent covid costs. This is a week when covid is under control. We currently are looking at less than eight weeks a year at this rate. We have roughly the same number of weeks at ten times that amount, so we are looking at about 35-50 million a year in uninsured covid costs and the fed has cut the money off to cover them. Our response to covid thus far has been about 20-100% worse than comparable cities who had a real covid response meaning the direct costs of Jacobs irresponsible incompetence in this area alone will cost the county between 10-20 million. You folks want to know where your raises went? Jacobs took them when he refused to mitigate covid and entrenched us at a disease rate that has kept us at pandemic levels longer than any other like sized city in America. I use Madison Wi. as the city I compare to. Compare for yourself.
What I am struggling with though, is where is Jacobs hiding this expenditure. We know he's paying for his covid policy rather than give the raises these loyal employees are earning, but where is he hiding it in the budget? That is the question. The figure I found for indigent care came to less than 250,000 a year. Where is the rest of these tens of millions? Is he just forgoing the County's fiduciary responsibilities and dumping these costs on us as consumers with higher charges for medical care and health insurance? It's time to pay the piper. We knew there would be long term implications to our covid response, and there are. The issue is that by not being upfront about these costs the Mayor Jacobs is doing nothing more than perpetrating a fraud against the citizens of Knox County and just stealing money outright from every single one of us.

Ask me anything you want to know about these diploma mills and I'll do my best to answer. Below I've included some background and answers to some questions I'm anticipating. To avoid revealing my identity, I won't specify the mill, but I assure you this is a legitimate experience. Ask away.
Why did you quit? I worked in admissions. I couldnt take it anymore, going home with a guilty feeling that I'm contributing to the problem of mass immigration and, by extension, the housing crisis. So I quit. Despite struggling to find a job for 6 months before this, I felt like I had no choice. I had benefits, remote work, good pay, and healthy work/life balance, but this job might as well have been spitting in the faces of Canadians because it gave me the same feeling.
Is my institution aware that it's a diploma mill? Not at all. I even asked about it and everyone gave me the same or similar answers:

1. We are much smaller than the major universities like UofT and UBC etc. the xxxx number of students we bring in are inconsequential.
   
2. We are giving these young people a chance to better themselves. We are doing good for Canada. You should feel proud.
   
3. (From my Indian coworker): Without Indians, Canada would be nothing. You guys need us to make Canada better. It's a dying country without us because the population is so low and birth rates are declining and Canadians aren't ambitious enough to fill the high level jobs.
   
4. We can't survive without international students. They're our main source of income.
   
5. It's not your job to think about these things.
   

What kinds of students did you bring in? 100% of our most recent intake was Indian. Normally, it's (roughly) 90% Indian, 9% Nigerian, and 1% someone from a different country. I'd estimate they're 75% male, 25% female, 0% non-binary (we do not have updated stats on gender so this is purely observation)
Why did you primarily bring in Indians? All the cheap overseas agents are Indian and they exclusively recruit in India. Every single one of our agents was Indian. I asked if we could diversify and my boss said "no money" and "the government is more likely to approve Indian permits so we shouldn't waste time with people from other countries."
Any fraudulent applications? I'd estimate anywhere from 25-50% of the applications from India are fraudulent. I often got people applying with flawless English proficiency scores but they'd use a translator to communicate with me. When I would speak to them directly they couldn't respond to basic questions after "how are you?" My boss demanded that I accept them anyway because we could get sued and checking for it's legitimacy was too costly.
Do they work? Yes. Every student I've admitted works as much as possible, primarily at nearby fast food restaurants, convenience stores, and for Ubetaxi services.
How much time do they spend in classes then? Fortunately, my institution requires attendance. Unfortunately, most courses are hybrid so we cannot verify that they are actually present. Even still, a full course load here (5 courses) requires less than ~20 hours per week of actual work because the institution wants to give students more time to work. This is absurd to me, as they are supposed to be students first and foremost. To be clear, all of this works out to them only coming in 2-3 times a week, depending on the student's schedules. Some professors have also reduced the homework to give them more time to work.
How are these students/applicants overall? I want to emphasize that I am pro responsible immigration (immigration levels that our infrastructure supports, with people who respect Canadian values and want to integrate and improve the country) but anti mass immigration. I will not respond to racist comments. This is not intended to be a racist response either.
Some things I've noticed about many (not all) of our students from the past year - they are very grateful to be in Canada - bathrooms are VERY dirty (I spend at least 15 minutes a day wiping up pee, cleaning up wrappers and paper towels, etc) - they want to go to the US after getting Canada PR - they barely speak English despite all of my institution's classes being fully in English - they do not respect quiet rules, meaning a general expectation that people in halls should be quiet to respect those in offices and classrooms (although this could be said about any uni students) - I have recieved a notable increase in complaints from female domestic students of harassment from male international students

i (F,18) have been with my partner (M,20) For three years. we have lived together for nearly a year as his family moved away and he didn’t want to leave our town with myself and his friends being here, so my mum has let him live with us.
he is a lovely boy. he makes me laugh every day and is really sweet and caring to me. i can’t really fault our relationship much. we don’t really argue. he is genuinely my best friend.
lately i have been getting overwhelmed with the fact that i am in this serious relationship. i worry about not exploring myself. what would i be doing if i was single? am i too young?
a problem that has been coming up is that he is an extremely shy person to the point where he sometimes can’t socialise normally. i try to be super accepting of it but sometimes i find myself getting annoyed (i feel awful about it). i know he can’t help his anxiety. i am worrying about the future, every social event that comes up, i have to worry about him wanting to leave early and sitting there looking miserable. it’s slowly starting to make me just dread things.
another point is that he isn’t very motivated and i am highly motivated. I am doing a bachelor of psychology and working full time. he quit his job 2 months ago ( i don’t blame him, it was awful ) and hasn’t gotten one since. he has been applying and going for interviews but i have had to pretty much force him to. he is heavily into politics and wars around the world. he says to me what’s the point in doing anything when we are all going to be dead from the war in a few years. we are living in upper middle class australia by the way. he is very negative on his outlook of life. i know that he battles with depression so i true to uplift him as much as i can. but he consumes so much negative content and thinks there isn’t any point in getting an apprenticeship ive been encouraging him to do, because “we will all be dead from the war soon anyways”. and i am not trying to disregard the war, i know it’s a reality.

Salvationism could be defined by three pillars; Christ, State, and the People. How these three pillars are supported within the Army is moreso defined by the type of Salvationism practiced.

• Gauthier Salvationism (Represented by the United Salvationist Movement)

Gauthier Salvationism (Gauthierism) is the mainline and orthodox interpretation of Salvationist politics. It is largely centrist in its application and populist in its image. The Gauthierists believe in a Guided Democracy where the United Salvationist Movement has oversight over the democratic processes that will eventually take hold within the Army's territory. The Gauthierists are also privy to a mixed economy wherein the state helps regulate the market, but the market is inherently subservient to the whims of the state and should always serve the people to the best of its ability. Under André Gauthier (namesake of the ideology), the Gauthierists have supported a pluralistic view on religion, believing that all Christians are welcome within his Kingdom of Heaven. The Gauthierists also hold the most defining view within orthodox Salvationism known as 'Primus Inter Pares', which places the Salvation Army over the common citizenry.

• Neo-Salvationism (Represented by the All-Canadian Union and the Young Officers Bloc)

Neo-Salvationism (Fontaine Thought) is the modernised and democratic application of Salvationism. Under Major Albert Fontaine, Neo-Salvationism was defined by the following of Christian Democracy and Liberal Conservatism. Due to this, Fontaine Thought is considered to be a barebones form of Salvationism; no longer did they support Guided Democracy nor did they support the 'Primus Inter Pares' system regarding the Salvation Army itself believing that the citizens should be equal amongst the Army.

• Right-Salvationism (Represented by the Fifth Monarchists Bloc)

Right-Salvationism (Paracletism) is the reactionary and monarchist application of Salvationism. The Paracletes are an incredibly authoritarian and right-wing ideologues that have placed faith in not only Christ, but also in who they call 'The Unknown Saviour'; an esoteric and mystical messiah who is to return to the world and institute a Holy Monarchy over the world. The Paracletes believe strongly in monarchism and the advent of nobility, petitioning the Salvation Army to authorise the development of a civic nobility built up from loyal Salvationists. Their views are largely considered extremist, but they do hold support from some of the more powerful oligarchs.

• Left-Salvationism (Represented by the Reformist Labor Bloc)

Left-Salvationism (Laborism) is the centre-left to left-wing development of orthodox Salvationism. The Laborists are made up of old trade unionists, ex-Labor Party members, socialists and radicals. They believe in the abolition of the Primus Inter Pares system as well as an end to the lack of separation between Church and State. The Laborists support a mixed economy akin to the orthodox Salvationists, but they also support stronger protections of workers and consumers alike. Although externally they may be considered the most palatable, within the Army they could be considered borderline traitorous.
Although the application of Salvationism differs among the blocs they are all united by their love of Christ and their devotion to ensuring safety for all the faithful within their borders. How they protect those faithful is a more contentious discussion point.

Recently I managed to get browser hijacking malware on my chrome browser on windows, so I uninstalled chrome which got rid of the malware. I've been doing some research and debating whether to collect listings and post them on my job board with a link to their site to apply to the listing, or if I should reach out to the business first to see if it's okay if I share their job on my job board?

I am trying to figure out what would be the best use of my time this summer. I got my 6th work term taken away so if I don't do WE accelerate and can't find a standard/flex job, I get kicked out of co-op. I will probably have to do WEA in any case.

I have begun to view this through the lens of getting to watch a company (and individual leaders) I really respect make what may turn out to be a truly historic business mistake or triumph. I'm excited to be part of it! It is irritating that Sonos has done this in my home, with products I actually love. The upshot is, I am pretty confident this will turn into something others will have the opportunity to learn from. (Maybe even they can learn from it, if you they fast enough.)
What makes this a unique (and likely historically significant) mistake is that Sonos, who has extraordinary customer trust and goodwill, used that to do something that directly harms existing, installed, previously functioning customers, in their homes, with no action taken or required by the user to be affected. This is a luxury consumer appliance, not ad-driven business or something. Super sticky customer base. Impact is clearly widespread, although the most loyal customers with lots of equipment are likely disproportionately affected.
It's painful to see the years where Sonos has earned a much stronger market position also a somehow much weaker stock position relative to large companies that might have more of a "mistake budget". It's transparent to most people that they have a lot riding on upcoming releases. I have a lot of sympathy for Patrick and any CEO trying to hit numbers in hardware and beat the street's expectations. It's HARD. (it's in the name FFS.)
However, everything that has happened as part of this rollout has been an example of what not to do. Regardless of motivation or intention by Sonos, you have what are clearly a lot of customers who are feeling completely disempowered, disrupted, violated, and gaslit. You are quadrupling-down on this. From the outside, it looks completely insanity. (And, in the future, when we watch the documentary I doubt it will be portrayed as a moment of "courage". 🤣)

Starting with a TF or PyTorch model, how does one build an appliction around it?
