2024.05.04 23:15 Familiar_Handle_1307 BUCKED UP IGF-1

Heya! I just want to start a discussion about something. I'm a fan of Bucked Up supplements. This morning, I ended up on their website and I saw something called "Deer Antler Velvet Spray". This spray has a compound called "IGF-1". After I did my own research, I learned that IGF-1 contains has characteristics that can help with performance in the gym and muscle building. However, I also learned that IGF-1 has been banned by WADA (World anti-doping agency). Since it's banned by WADA, I would also assume that's it's banned by the NCAA, NFL, NBA, MLB, & etc. I'm not interested in doping or anything of the sort. I also read an article about IGF-1 that said... “You can’t eat this stuff in a pill, because the digestive system will destroy it,” Rogol explains of the IGF-1 present in deer antler. As for under-the-tongue sprays, Rogol says some relatively small proteins might be absorbed that way. “But the amounts would be vanishingly small. In humans, I can’t believe it could be effective.”
If you've tried IGF-1 is it worth it or not?

2024.04.21 17:21 tersxin Rogol Suka Sama Suka

2024.02.21 20:13 Aros001 They need to stop making Goku and Superman's origins more and more similar.

Don't get me wrong, outside of the Ocean and early Funimation dubs of Dragon Ball I'm not entirely sure that the respective companies are trying to make Superman and Goku's origins specifically like each other's. Modern Dragon Ball has't exactly tried to keep going with Bardock being a brilliant scientist. It's just the two franchises make for a very good comparison in this case since it highlights why the changes to the origins aren't as fitting for the characters as the original, or at least more classic, origins were.
Goku and Superman tend to be compared (and their fandoms occasionally at each other's throats in the battle forums) because their origins are decently similar. Powerful aliens sent to Earth as infants, escaping the destruction of their planet, and growing up to be their new home's greatest protector. Beyond that, just like Goku and Superman themselves, the rest of their story is fairly different.
But in recent years there have been some notable changes that have inched the two closer together. Namely, Goku being sent to Earth by his father to save him from Planet Vegeta's destruction and Krypton having a specific entity responsible for its destruction. Both of which are things very much part of the other's origin, and while the changes don't make their stories bad they don't quite work as well as it did for the other.
Technically speaking, there's nothing wrong with Bardock and Gine caring enough about their son Kakarot to send him off to Earth to save him from the destruction of Vegeta that they suspect is coming like Jor-El and Lara did for their son Kal-El. But even before we ever got the "Bardock - The Father of Goku" special that gave us the heartless bastard version of Bardock that everybody loves, back when Bardock existed just as a single panel of the manga where Frieza is commenting to himself how Goku looks like that one Saiyan who rebelled against him before he blew up the planet, Goku was just simply another Saiyan, and a low-class one at that. Like all the other Saiyans, he had been sent to Earth to slaughter its inhabitants and get it ready for conquest, as Raditz confirms and Nappa and Prince Vegeta further lend credence to. Yes, none of them would have known what the parents' actual intentions would have been. It's not a retcon that breaks continuity or adds a plot hole. But that idea was still something Dragon Ball's story was built around. Goku escaping the destruction of his planet by sheer coincidence. He and his family were not an exception to the rest of the Saiyan race, they were a norm of it. It was Goku's unique experiences on Earth that made him different from his brother and their father, not the least of which being bashing his head as a baby and forgetting what he was sent there to do. It's silly but that's Dragon Ball, it should be silly. And before that, there was no reason to believe that screaming little monkey boy was going to be any more of a threat to Frieza than any of the others, and likewise there was no reason for him to be saved over any of the others. He just happened to already be off-planet. That was it and that was all it neeeded to be.
As for the destruction of Planet Krypton, while there's likewise technically nothing wrong with Brainiac or Rogol Zaar or some other malevolent force destroying the planet like Frieza did to Vegeta, it funny enough is much less impactful a story than if it was purely just their Sun going supernova or Krypton's unstable core finally collapsing or some other equally mundane and non-nefarious cause.
Plenty of people, comic readers and non, have wondered how the hell an advanced race like the Kryptonians didn't see the end of their world coming and likewise how they didn't do anything to prevent it or save their species...and over time we've had less and less people wondering that as they've witnessed climate change, religious extremism, and just everything to do with Covid in their lifetime.
One of the saddest things about a lot of stuff in superhero comics, most especially Superman's, is that a lot of the longtime stuff has actually stayed relevant or even become MORE relevant as time has gone on. For example, Zack Snyder modernizing Lex Luthor for BvS as a young tech mogul a la the Social Network was certainly not a bad idea...but Lex being old mega-wealthy industrialist destroying lives through his greed and indifference is unfortunately not at all a dated concept. And the same goes for the Kryptonian's downfall.
Krypton was an incredibly advanced culture populated by a very intelligent species that could have achieved incredible physical potential under a Sun other than their system's red star Rao. But the people were largely isolationist, very set in their ways, and to an extent deliberately ignorant. Unlike with Frieza, where the Saiyans had no chance of saving themselves from a being that powerful and malicious, the tragedy of the Krytonians is that they COULD have saved themselves. Jor-El tried to warn everyone he could about the planet's impending destruction, most especially those on Krypton who held power and authority, but be it for religious reasons, political reasons, or even it just being an inconvenient truth, they would not listen. Pooling efforts and resources, Krypton would have had ways that they could have saved a good deal of their people and culture, even if not everyone and everything. But instead, all they had was one rocket only big enough to hold an infant, since it was essentially build in secret by one guy with limited resources. I don't think Jor-El even could make it big enough to hold himself and/or his wife too within the time he had.
Krypton is not a planet to be avenged. Its people died because of the stubborn ignorance of those with the power on Krypton. Changing things so that the destruction was because of the actions of a specific individual weakens the overall story of Superman, since part of the point of Clark being Superman, beyond him just being a good person who wants to help people, is to keep Earth from ever repeating Krypton's fate. Be it as Clark Kent the journalist exposing corruption and fighting ignorance or as Superman saving lives and inspiring people to be better, there is an effort to push humanity to not being the same kind of close-minded, intolerant, self-destructive bigots that doomed Krypton's people to die along with their planet. If Krypton's destruction was a deliberate act by a powerful being that wanted all the Kryptonians dead, then Superman's job becomes incredibly simple. It's easy to keep Krypton's fate from repeating itself on Earth then. "Is Darkseid trying to blow up the Earth again? No? Then everything is fine.".
I feel like a good way to describe the difference between Goku and Superman's stories is actually with two specific lines associated with them. Goku is "To go even further beyond." while Superman is "The never-ending battle.".
Frieza destroying Vegeta works because he is another ceiling for Goku to work towards and break through. Because he was a Saiyan he was a big fish in a small pond on Earth but his experiences taught him to always keep pushing forward and never accept his limits even if he seemed to be the strongest, which served him well when Raditz showed up and changed the game. Goku is not an underdog character for the majority of Dragon Ball's series, only really being one during the Saiyan/Frieza saga, but it's because of his mentality of continuously trying to go beyond that he surpasses each and every obstacle in his way. The entire Saiyan race fell at Frieza's hand, including Prince Vegeta, the pinnacle of the Saiyan race's natural power, but in the end Goku defeated Frieza because he is the Saiyan who didn't just stay like every other Saiyan. He's the Saiyan who kept pushing even further beyond.
Krypton being destroyed through natural events and its people dying preventable deaths works because it shows the dangers of ignorance, arrogance, and apathy, stuff even Superman himself can be susceptible to and thus the need for constant vigilance against such things. There is no one simple action that can be taken to solving all of Earth's problems or one single obstacle standing in the way of making a better world. It is a continuous ongoing effort on multiple fronts, thus why Superman's enemies range from street crimes to galactic dictators and his challenges from greedy businessmen to simple desperate people just trying to survive. The pursuit of truth, justice, and a better tomorrow is a never-ending battle, but by that same coin as long as there is evil and injustice in the world, Superman will never give up the fight against it and his actions inspire the same in others.
Funny enough, despite the differences, I feel like the changes to both characters' origins are done somewhat for the same reason, that being that the writers keep wanting to make Goku and Superman more inherently special and important rather than it just being their actions and the life they've lived being what makes them so.
Jor-El and Lara sending their son to Earth to save him works because with him is their hopes that he can make something better than they did. Krypton could have been so much better than it was but they doomed themselves, so maybe Kal-El and Earth can learn from their fate to not make the same mistakes. But now Krypton was destroyed because Kryptonians themselves were special and always going to be significant to the universe. Superman's doing would his people were always meant for, rather than it just being because he's the child of two worlds; raised on Earth and learning the lessons of Krypton's past.
Frieza destroying Planet Vegeta works because he's a galactic tyrant who won't tolerate the risk of the Saiyans growing powerful enough to potentially rebel against him someday, fearing the legend of this so-called Super Saiyan. It's a fear that subsides over time as he has Prince Vegeta under his thumb, the prime and best example of the Saiyan race, and even his climbing strength still makes him nowhere near a level that's a threat. But now Goku's unique attributes, the kind that made him different from Vegeta and all the other Saiyans, the kind that enabled him to go Super Saiyan when none of them could, those are now attributes he shared with his parents. His mother Gine was kindhearted and loving and his father Bardock found himself caring about his kid when almost no other Saiyans do except when they can brag about their spawn's high power level, and they took action to save their son from Frieza. Instead of Goku being unique among Saiyans because of his experiences on Earth, now he was already unique among Saiyans because of who and how his parents were.
And again, I don't even think these changes, be they in canon or just in adaptations, even make the stories bad necessarily. Superman and Goku's stories still work even which such changes and they both are still good characters. It's just a problem of not leaving well enough alone. Goku and Superman's origins were already unique and special and fit the two thematically very well, and the changes made them less so. Whether the writers were intentionally trying to make their origins more like each other's or if it was just pure happenstance, the push the two have had closer to being like the other has made them both stand out less.

2024.01.25 05:48 Pale_Emu_9249 I need a little Kandor help please

I read Kneel Before Zod the other day and I'm a bit confused. Pre-Flashpoint, Kandor was enlarged, first on Earth and then moved to a planetoid on the far side of the sun.
I didn't read much New 52 stuff, so I don't know what happened to Kandor.
Fast forward to the awful Bendis run on Superman and we see Rogol Zaar destroy Kandor in the Fortress of Solitude.
So how can Zod and the Kryptonians of Kandor be living on the planetoid on the far side of the sun if Kandor was destroyed by Rogol Zaar?
The DC Fandom wiki isn't much help.

2024.01.17 09:36 NuzlockeMaster [Respect Thread Rumble] Granolah (Dragon Ball Super) vs. Rogol Zaar (DC Comics)

Relevant Stuff:
In this scenario, Rogol Zaar is responsible for the death of Granolah's race. Granolah is intent on getting revenge for his people and Zaar is here to finish the job. The fight takes place on Planet Cereal.
Scaling will be considered, but the character's actual feats are the main focus.

Strength

Granolah
Rogol Zaar
Analysis: Regarding striking, their feats seem about even. Although Zaar's moon punch might sound better than everything else on paper, that only really shows off launching something over a vast and the actual impact doesn't seem to show much damage to the rock. However, Zaar has the advantage in terms of lifting strength by virtue of being a comic book character. Even if we used the most casual of Superman feats, it would be better than 99% of DB lifting feats.
Verdict: Slight advantage to Rogol Zaar

Durability

Granolah
Rogol Zaar
Analysis: Both have durability feats that suggest they could withstand each other's physical blows. I'll get into the esoteric resistances in a later section. I think Rogol Zaar is a bit more tankier though.
Verdict: Rogol Zaar

Speed

Granolah
Rogol Zaar
Analysis: Zaar may have a more objective travel speed feat, but Granolah has showcased better maneuverability. Granolah also fights at FTE speeds more consistently and has his Instantaneous Teleportation, which he can use in combat to further boost his speed.
Verdict: Granolah

Abilities

Granolah
Rogol Zaar
Analysis: Granolah not only has a greater variety of abilities with more versatility, but they are also way more powerful. Rogol Zaar's axe has sufficient sharpness to pierce Granolah and his heat resistance should protect him from mere lava, but Granolah's blasts have enough potency to heavily damage Zaar.
Verdict: Granolah

Conclusion

Rogol Zaar's advantages in strength and durability aren't as major as Granolah's advantages IMO, especially since the strength advantage isn't that big and Granolah can make up the damage output with his blasts. With his speed advantage, Granolah will not only be getting in more hits more often, but also dodging more hits than Rogol Zaar.
Plus, as a bounty hunter, Granolah will be able to keep his distance effectively until he finds a vital point on Zaar to capitalize on. Granolah just has way more options to deliver a finishing blow against Rogol Zaar than he does.
And considering Rogol Zaar has to use a device to destroy a planet, I doubt he could survive a fully charged blast from Granolah.

Winner: Granolah

2024.01.17 02:18 BorBurison [Respect Thread Rumble] Big angry comic book brute battle royale

The Juggernaut vs Doomsday vs Mangog vs Rogol Zaar

Juggernaut
Doomsday
Mangog
Rogol Zaar
(Also this will only be going over their standard versions, so nothing like Kuurth, the weird other Doomsdays, or the God of Hammers)

Strength

Juggernaut
Doomsday
Mangog
Rogol Zaar
Analysis: Doomsday is far above the others with his Bizarroworld moon bust, but it's so much better than his other feats that it's probably an outlier. Without it he's honestly not that impressive in comparison to Juggernaut causing 8.0 earthquakes or Mangog destroying mountains. Between Mangog and Juggernaut I'd probably go for Mangog, though Juggernaut would probably be stronger if he could build up some momentum first.
Ranking
  1. Doomsday (with moon feat)
  2. Mangog
  3. Juggernaut
  4. Zaar
  5. Doomsday (no moon feat)

Durability

Juggernaut
Doomsday
Mangog
Rogol Zaar
Analysis: while everyone here has great stuff, like Zaar taking punches that shook a city or Mangog and Doomsday not giving a fuck when they get stabbed, Juggernaut getting punched to Mars is far more impressive than the others' feats. Juggernaut takes this.
Ranking
  1. Juggernaut
  2. Doomsday
  3. Mangog
  4. Zaar

Speed

Juggernaut
Doomsday
Mangog
Rogol Zaar
Analysis: yeah this one's not close at all. While Juggernaut and Mangog have decent speed, and Doomsday is...there, nothing they do comes close to Zaar's feats against Zod and Superman. Rogol Zaar takes this in a landslide.
  1. Zaar
  2. Mangog
  3. Juggernaut
  4. Doomsday

Abilities

Juggernaut
Doomsday
Mangog
Rogol Zaar
Analysis: Zaar is completely useless here, everyone else either has a healing factor or is basically immune to getting stabbed. Juggernaut's are more useful, like his healing factor and infinite endurance, though his unstoppable charge could be easily exploited. Mangog's ability to gain strength from the hatred of others would be extremely beneficial here (Juggernaut and Zaar are normally pretty angry, and I don't think Doomsday has an emotion besides hate), and his magic could probably immobilise someone for a few seconds. But Doomsday's powers are just on another level. His death aura is absurdly powerful, and he could abuse the hell out of his teleportation if he's smart (key word being if). Doomsday takes this.
  1. Doomsday
  2. Mangog
  3. Juggernaut
  4. Zaar

Conclusion

After everything I'd say Rogol Zaar would be the first one out. While he does have a speed advantage, he has...nothing else. He's the second weakest besides Doomsday, the least durable, and his weapon is basically useless against everyone else here.
The next one to go down is probably Doomsday. While his death field is extremely powerful (and would probably kill Zaar), it's kinda useless against Juggs thanks to his magic protections and Mangog because of the billion billion dollars souls he never shuts up about. And without it he just doesn't have the feats to compare to the other two physically.
With that all that's left are Mangog and Juggernaut. As I said before the pair have fairly similar strength (both regularly beating the shit out of Thor), but what really seals it is Mangog's power boost from hatred. Despite Juggernaut's supposed unstoppability he has been stopped before, and Mangog could probably end up pushing him back eventually with the constant stream of power given to him by Juggernaut like War Hulk did. And even though Juggs has the durability advantage with his force field Mangog could still just rip his helmet off and then punch him (or just cave his head in like Nimrod did recently).

Winner: Mangog

(With the moonbust Doomsday sweeps though)

Kepada para lelaki yang mengaku pandai urut perempuan tapi sebenarnya tak pandai pun mengurut, sila berhenti berbuat demikian.
Berapa ramai perempuan yang aku urut, rata-rata complain pasal lelaki yang pura-pura pandai urut, tapi bila sampai terus paksa ajak main. Rupanya ramai perempuan yang dah terkena macam ni. Yang kena rogol pun ada jugak.
Ada jugak yang complain katanya pandai urut tapi dia picit-picit 5 minit macam tu je lepas tu ajak main jugak. Terus perempuan tu cakap dekat lelaki tu, "Kalau setakat picit-picit macam tu bukan urut namanya! Baik aku suruh kucing aku je urut! Kau keluar dari sini sekarang jugak!"
Kalau betul pandai urut, bagi hilang sakit-sakit dan lenguh-lenguh badan, baru boleh mengaku tukang urut. Dah ada pengalaman mengurut ramai orang dan belajar betul-betul dari tukang urut.
Kalau setakat nak main, cakap je terang-terang nak main, bukan nak mengurut. Takde la nanti buang masa semua orang dan takde la nanti mencacatkan reputasi tukang urut yang betul-betul boleh urut.

2023.12.31 13:32 AbbreviationsMuted9 Let's Talk About Character Consistency and Current Supergirl...

Is she character consistent? It is a challenge to do so when wriiten by multiple writers across different crossover issues and solo issues.
I would say no. Why? I will give examples.
Woman Of Tomorrow: A drunken Supergirl swearing like a sailor on her 21st birthday STILL butt hurt over the fact that Superman is more popular and well liked than her? I mean, if this was written in a way that was comedic it could have been hilarious, but unfortunately it was'nt. It was simply a Supergirl depressed over being in the shadow of Superman. So unlike the Post Crisis era Supergirl who was desperate and proactive about proving to the world that she was worthy of being a superhero and as good or better than Superman. This one just seemed resigned and defeated in spirit. Also the swearing was not peak Supergirl for me, even though Post Crisis swears, it's not nearly as much as this version who had a potty mouth. It's unbecoming and not ladylike to do it as much as she does in Woman Of Tomorrow, since she swears even casually. With Post Crisis Supergirl it was almost always as an exclamation during stressful times rather than swearing while talking to people who have a low chance of hurting her.
Crossovers (Doomsday special and World's Finest): Here Supergirl seemed more like the Kara I know and love, confident, clever with a plan (or at least knowing a way already to assist with one), and with occasional spunky or witty lines of dialogue, such as her being stuck in hell and the devil asking her to fight doomsday and she's like "Do it yourself." Despite not exactly having the power dynamic in her favor.
Solo Comic Runs and issues: I tried to read the Killers of Krypton arc, but it bored me to death. Rogol Zarr is more than butt ugly and evil on top of it. So he is like a walking story trope, and the whole mystery and reason for the destruction of Krypton just did not seem all that convincing to me. As the DC universe has plenty of threats besides Kryptonians, and they did not ever show or indicate that Krypton was ever as bad as the Viltrumites from Invincible were. Supergirl lacked character foils, and was mosty alone without even knowing what to do, and without the humor and wit with dialogue that defined her early post crisis era. Joe Kelly had a sense of humor and I loved it, but this new writer? I don't see it. It's just Supergirl and her dog VS the universe with her asking for help. The solo special by Mariko had a melancholy and jealous Supergirl over stuff that seems quite petty considering she has already faced greater and darker challenges before.
So am I wrong or missing something here?
Because it seems to me that whether you like or dislike Post Crisis Supergirl, at least her character was written with consistent character progression. Which is kind of miraculous considering this happened despite multiple writers writing her. Which means they obviously were familiar with the lore and did their best to add continuity to it.
The newer stuff seems a bit all over the place, one moment she is the confident and spunky Kara I love with occasional witty and funny lines, the next she is cursing like a sailor and acting like an old and weary soul who has seen it all and is bored and depressed.
