So I have my undergrad GPA and then I also took science classes after I graduated at another college (UCSD). The science classes I took at UCSD were mainly repeats of classes I got C- or C’s in during my undergrad. I out of the 9 classes I took again I 8 A’s and 1 B+. Will the schools take those classes/grades into consideration even though they are repeats? If so, will those classes be counted into my Science GPA or only overall GPA?

Is there a competitive average for it? I'm aware that there is a B grade minimum for the undergraduate degree, but I am not aware of/have not seen a competitive average. I only saw Queens' undergraduate program have official competitive averages listed, not this one.
I meet the minimum B requirement with my humanities degree (from U of C). I do not have direct immigration work experience, but I have volunteered in programs that allowed me to coach newcomers (international students, adult immigrants, refugees, etc.) in Canada with their English conversational skills. Curious what you're application was like (if you've applied before) and if you got in, and what you'd say my chances are like in honesty.

Ok,so my fiance and I are 5 months out from the wedding we'd always hoped for. We are very excited and have a very tight, for the most part healthy relationship. We communicate very well. I think our personalities compliment each other, being that I'm the introvert, organized, non risk taker and he's more the extrovert, a little messy, adventurous one. I keep him grounded and he has taught me how to loosen up. He has a 7 year old son, whom I've developed a very special relationship with. We are close and he comes to me when he tends to gravitate toward me. I love him very much.
For the time being, we are living in a house with his mother to save money for the wedding and a down payment on our own place. The arrangement helps my soon to be MIL, being that she couldn't afford the place on her own. I thought I'd develop a close relationship with his family. I don't have a lot of family and I'm grieving the loss of my oldest son, so I really could have gotten used to the support of a family. The problem is, his family members one by one have made horrible comments about our relationship, especially his mother. Things like "well he's just in love with being in love and I worry that he doesn't actually love you." And, "he's just obsessed with you until the next thing catches his eye." They all comment about him spending more time with me and his son and less time with them as well. He used to visit his grandmother every week/every other week and fix things in her house. I think that's sweet but what his family would use him for wasn't limited to him doing little things for Grandma around the house. It seems they are more upset that he's not doing for them anymore. He's a grown man of 33! Did they not think he'd find someone? It's like they're all surprised he's not entirely about them anymore and that's just bizarre to me. After hearing this narrative about how it MUST be ME because the changes coincided with us getting together, I decided I would no longer subject myself to their B.S. They don't care about our engagement and only his grandma has even asked to see my ring. No one talks about or asks about our wedding planning, yet they see things being delivered and hear us talking about plans, vendors, decor, etc. I told him I just don't want to go to his extended family's homes anymore. I still have to endure living with his mother for now, who obviously feels some type of way about her grown man son being grown. I'm exhausted. He just told me I'm breaking HIS heart by not going to visit his family. They broke MINE! Please tell me, am I the asshole here?

Hi guys. I want to buy a sleeping mat and I have narrowed it down to two options. I can buy a Thermarest Trail Scout at AUD$155 or go for the Prolite Plus Womens at AUD$255.
I intend this for Australian winter use, car camping and backpacking, most likely from 10C down to just above 0C. My sleeping bag is comfort rated to around 4C. I sleep cold so I usually just put my jacket on. I currently have a cheap Denali sleeping mat which just doesn't cut it. One advantage to the cheaper Scout is that I can also afford a thermal liner for the sleeping bag as well, although I think that with a better sleeping mat I'll sleep warmer anyway.
I've always had fairly cheap gear (spend my teenage years sleeping on those el-cheapo blue foam mats), and my instinct is to go for the cheaper Scout, but I don't want to shoot myself in the foot by cheaping out too much.
I do intend this mat to be versatile--for use in colder temperatures I'll add a pad underneath.

I am a ninth grader who is still doing kumon. My mom made me start VERY late (middle school) so I wouldn't lose grip of the "basics" in middle/high school.
I do sports all 3 seasons - jv volleyball, jv basketball, and jv soccer, but I have just been pulled up for varsity soccer for playoffs. Therefore I am extremely busy year round and have practice everyday, and if i don't, i play club lacrosse.
My parents also want me to have straight a's, if I get a b+ or a-, i get yelled at and I have to pull it up to an A asap. It's been impossible to keep my grades up, play sports well, and do kumon everyday, since I get home around 6-7 everyday or even have games, and then I need the rest of my night to do school work and be prepared.
therefore, i get piled up with kumon on the weekends, generally about 2 weeks behind having me to do 6-7 sets on saturday and 6-7 more on sunday. I don't even go to the center anymore due to my busy schedule and my mom just picks up my work.
I don't score too well on my kumon, which makes it harder for me to convince my parents to let me quit. But the thing is, if any of the topics I get on kumon comes up during math/english class, I do them very well. I think I see kumon as a chore and don't put 100% into it.
I've been constantly reminding my parents of how it doesn't benefit or apply to any of the things I am doing and how busy I am and that kumons whole "practive everyday" theory is useless on me because I have such a busy schedule, but they constantly remind me that I keep scoring bad and they get SUPER mad at me and tell me to "accept it".
If we lose our next game, I won't have any more practices for high school and travel soccer practices twice a week, but I have to study REALLY hard for my finals. I can't continue to do kumon. As of now, I have 6-7 sets to fix, 14 sets of kumon to do by tomorrow, but I have a game tomorrow and 3 math sheets to do for final review. I really need to quit, but my parents always get so mad and never hear me out. What should i do?
