New US and Canadian CHAdeMO chargers in April 2024

2024.05.10 15:43 boutell New US and Canadian CHAdeMO chargers in April 2024

Welcome to the March new chargers report, fellow Chadoomers!
Almost all of you are my fellow Leaf owners, hoping for just one new chargepoint on your favorite route, before the great dwarven CHAdeMO forges beneath the earth go cold for all time. Here's an update.
Here are all of the new US and Canadian CHAdeMO (Leaf fast-charging) stations that rolled out in April, according to the Alternative Fuels Data Center. You can fetch the data yourself here. Feel free to report inaccuracies to the AFDC.
For comparison's sake: in the US, there were 200 "new" (or updated) CHAdeMO stations added in March, with at least 200 chargepoints. To put it in perspective, there were 102 new or updated US stations in April of 2023. This month's report is surprisingly strong, given how late we are in CHAdeMO's lifecycle. It is unclear if this is due to a large number of refreshed stations, or a large rollout of new stations that happen to include at least one CHAdeMO chargepoint, but it may be the latter thanks to Inflation Reduction Act funding. In any case, it is good news for those of us with legacy vehicles.
Keep in mind that even EVGo has started to roll out stations where only some of the bays support CHAdeMO. This makes sense given that only Nissan still sells a CHAdeMO pure-battery-electric car in the US, and the newer Nissan Ariya model is CCS. The Mitsubishi Plug-In Hybrid Outlander PHEV also supports CHAdeMO.
Some of these chargepoints will be "refreshes," e.g. the provider replaced them with faster chargers etc. Some may be incorrect. This report is only as good as the Alternative Fuels Data Center data.
If you'd like to know about new chargers along your routes right away, or reading these monthly reports is just frustrating in your state, I've set up a free service that provides email notifications only when new stations actually open. You can sign up at evpov.com. I built it to help EV owners like myself (especially my fellow Leaf owners). You can pick other plug types as well.
To streamline this post, multi-chargepoint locations are listed with the number of chargepoints first. Some stations may actually have more CHAdeMO chargepoints than reported here, but most won't, because even EVGo has started to reduce the number of CHAdeMO chargepoints per station. So in the case of CHAdeMO I make a pessimistic assumption to avoid creating unrealistic expectations.
Even so, for actual trip planning I recommend using PlugShare. This report is mainly useful to understand trends.
If you get a chance, do check out reported new stations near you and add PlugShare reviews, which helps everyone.

2024.05.10 15:33 boutell New US and Canadian CCS chargers in April 2024

Here are all (*) of the new US and Canadian CCS (Level 3 fast-charging) stations that rolled out in April 2024, according to the Department of Energy. You can get the data yourself here.
These chargers are suitable for most new EVs on the market, except for:
  1. Tesla drivers who haven't bought the official CCS adapter yet. Certain older Teslas need additional work done to accept the adapter.
  2. Leaf owners like me, owners of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, and some owners of older cars that also use CHAdeMO. If you drive such a car, see my matching post in leaf.
Some of these chargepoints will be "refreshes," e.g. the provider replaced them with faster chargers etc. Some may be incorrect. This report is only as good as the Alternative Fuels Data Center data.
There were 330 CCS charging stations with a total of 682 chargepoints added or refreshed in April 2024, which is a major uptick in both stations and chargepoints. There were only 166 new CCS charging stations in April 2023, with only 267 chargepoints. Things are trending dramatically upwards.
Some part of this is due to Tesla Magic Dock stations. Previously Tesla didn't report these to the AFDC as CCS, but now they do. And that makes sense because all CCS drivers can use them.
NOTE: most Tesla Superchargers do NOT have magic dock as of this writing (all those shown in this report should have it). I recommend using PlugShare to locate compatible stations for your vehicle.
(*) "What about other Tesla Superchargers? Can't everybody charge with NACS now?"
It's coming for many makes and models, and for newer Ford models as well as a few other manufacturers charging at v3 and v4 Superchargers is already an option with a free adapter from the automakers. GM should release their adapter in the coming weeks. But since they are not open to all CCS vehicles, this report is not the place for them. Tesla's app provides the best guide to their locations, including locations that work with non-Tesla vehicles.
Other Notes
To streamline this post, multi-chargepoint locations are listed with the number of chargepoints first.
For serious trip planning, I recommend PlugShare. But by all means check out these reported new locations and submit reviews on PlugShare, which makes things better for everyone.
If you'd like to know about new chargers along your routes right away, or just prefer not to check this list monthly when new openings are rare in your area, I've set up a free service that provides email notifications as soon as they open. You can sign up at evpov.com. Or not! I don't really have a business plan here, I built it to help EV owners like myself. PlugShare has a similar feature.

2024.03.09 01:40 Trash_Tia I took a new class in college. Family 101. Please DO NOT make the same mistake.

In what I thought were my last moments, I remembered her
Detonation in… 59
58
57
56
55
54
It's crazy how your life really can flash before your eyes.
Though I couldn't remember her name, I remembered her laugh.
How it felt to smile, the contortions in her mouth.
I remembered her feeling happy.
Sad
Angry
Scared
Pain
I remembered her life.
No.
My life.
“Holy shit, you're in Family 101 too?”
I met him when I was buying coffee.
I don't remember his name. Names, like everything else, are gone. There are only blurs in my mind that resemble faces and splinters of what could have been a voice. I've been told to write this as closure to myself, accepting my pain and moving on from my past. But the more I write, the more I remember, and, like a virus, it is slowly taking over me.
The boy who would later become Brother was the guy standing behind me whistling to himself, scrolling through his phone with the volume just a little too loud for 8:30. I'm told to visualise the memory like I am there, imagining each sense. I remember it was raining, and the smell of the rain comforted me. I could taste bubblegum in my mouth, and the slightest hint of chocolate pastry and stale orange juice.
It was the start of the spring, and cherry blossoms were already blooming outside, petals dancing across the walk.
There was a small local coffee shop off campus that did morning lattes with free sugar cookies.
Not an ideal breakfast, but it was energy, and I needed it after barely sleeping the night before. The guy behind me who couldn't seem to stand still, bouncing up and down on his heels like a hyperactive child, wasn't helping.
I was already highly irate, and it didn't take much to piss me off in the morning. The coffee steamer made me cringe, the sound of cups and silverware gritting my teeth together.
The barista making my drink looked like she hated her life, which wasn't making me feel any better. She worked like a robot, her hands doing several things at once. The girl had light blonde hair hanging in her face. The shadows under her eyes were making me tired.
College student. Maybe in her last year.
I thought about making idle conversation, but when I happened to catch her eye, she silently pleaded with me not to.
I could kind of sympathise with her.
I worked in my grandpa's coffee shop in Thailand when I was fourteen.
Never again.
Instead of striking up a chat and making her morning worse, I only offered a smile. My phone was already dying after I maxed out the battery doom scrolling, and my headphones were in my bag. So, I pulled out my class schedule. I thought I was hallucinating when I glimpsed it earlier that morning.
There was one particular class that didn't make sense. It just appeared out of nowhere. I already knew my core classes and electives, so what the fuck was Family 101? I called the college to enquire, but the woman I had been speaking to put the phone down on me.
When I called again, I was directed to the Dean’s office, who of course did not pick up.
So, I found myself on my way to Family 101.
Whatever it was.
I didn't realize phone guy was peering over my shoulder, until he cleared his throat loudly.
“Holy shit, you're in that weird class too?”
When I twisted around, he nodded at my schedule. This guy looked like he'd just rolled out of bed, hiding behind a mop of sandy coloured curls. His trenchcoat immediately cemented him as an English major. I wasn't sure what was more pretentious, his style, or the unlit cigarette hanging out of his mouth.
The kid pulled out his own schedule that was neatly folded into a square, pointing to it like an excited kid.
“Family 101 with Professor Hargreaves? I'm in there too, man!”
I nodded, hesitantly. “Yeah. Room GH78?”
He responded with a grin. “It's a small world, huh.”
Before I could answer, my order was called out. “Caramel latte?”
Turning back to the counter, the barista was finishing up my drink, piercing the lid with a straw. But her eyes weren't on me. She was glaring at Mr Pretentious.
“No smoking allowed in here.” Her voice was a little too monotone to be human.
The guy inclined his head. “But it's not technically smoking.”
Sir The barista's smile was a little too forced, though there was a hint of amusement in her tone. “I said there's no smoking allowed in here,” she paused, folding her arms. “Get rid of it, or I'm telling Mom.”
When I turned to him, the boy’s eyes had darkened, lips curved around the cigarette. “Wow. How old are you now, like twenty five? And you're going to run to Mom? It's not even lit, dumbass.”
Unfazed, the girl took another order, maintaining her smile. “Get rid of it.”
He scoffed. “I'm eighteen now. You guys can't order me around anymore.”
“True. But you'll stop being Mom’s perfect little golden boy if she finds out you smoke.”
“But I'm not even smoking!”
She raised a brow. “You're chewing a cigarette. The rules at home don't apply here, so you can't get your own way. Get rid of it before my boss has an aneurism, or I'm telling Mom her perfect son smokes fifty packs a day.“
I sensed him stiffening behind me, losing his bravado. “You wouldn't.”
“I would. She's already suspicious.”
The guy rolled his eyes, plucking out the cigarette and stuffing it into his pocket. “You're a little bitch, Bess.”
The barista, or Bess, straightened up, blowing a kiss. “Love you too, Acey.”
“Urgh! Don't make it weird!”
Her gaze found mine, satisfied. “Enjoy your drink.”
I found my voice, avoiding their sibling spat. “Thanks.”
I attempted to leave the store, but the guy stepped in front of me, blocking my way. Bess served another customer, maintaining a smile through gritted teeth. I noticed she was hitting the cash register a little too hard. “By the way, dad’s birthday party is on Sunday. And yes, his new girlfriend is coming. If you don't turn up and leave me to deal with the terror twins, I will burn you alive.”
The boy mocked a frown, inclining his head. “Aww, Bess, I didn't realize you cared that much about me!” his tone dripped with sarcasm. “I mean I would love to watch Mom and Dad scream at each other all day, but I'm actually busy,” he stepped back, shooting her a grin.
I made another attempt to sidestep him, only for the guy to stop me again, this time motioning for me to wait.
“I'll be going away for a while, sis. You'll probably never see me again.”
Bess didn't look up. “The party starts at three,” she grumbled. I'll see you there.”
“No you won't,” he said in a sing-song. “I told you, this is the last time you'll be seeing me.”
Bess caught my gaze, her eyes rolling into the back of her head. “If only.”
“I heard that.”
Bess slammed an iced mocha down. “You were supposed to, dear brother.”
The last thing I wanted was to accidentally insert myself in an apparent family affair. So, when I saw an opening, I grabbed my coffee and made my way to the door, only for Mr Trenchcoat to follow me, swiping canned coffee from the counter.
“I'll pay for it later!” he shouted over his shoulder, ignoring Bess’s, I thought I was never going to see you again?
“Yo! Family 101. Mind if I join ya?”
I guess I had already made a friend.
“Sure.”
I regretted my response, maybe 0.1 seconds later.
This guy would not shut up.
“So, Family 101 sounds shady, right? Or am I crazy?”
“It sounds strange,” I commented. “I wouldn't say shady, though.”
“But don't you think it's weird?” he said, the two of us pushing back out into warm spring air. The conversation started out fairly normal, only to devolve into conspiracy theories. Still though, his company was better than being alone.
Tuning out most of his manic muttering, I found myself smiling, revelling in a light breeze blowing my hair out of my face. Most of my memories are gone, cruelly torn away. But I still have pieces, splinters of a puzzle I've been piecing together.
It was the perfect temperature. Not warm enough for short sleeve weather yet, but I didn't have to wear a coat.
I remembered my coffee was too hot, scalding, and I took hesitant sips, immediately burning my tongue.
I didn't even know his name.
His accent was endearing, a slight English undertone if I concentrated. He jumped over cracks on the walk, already talking at a speed I couldn't keep up with. But it was refreshing. While he spoke in fast forward, I took notice of his stripy backpack that was unzipped, half of his books hanging out.
When he skipped in front of me, I zipped it up for him.
Not that he noticed.
“I mean, I thought the name was kinda funny, like what, are they teaching eighteen year olds how to make families now?” he twisted around with his arms spread out, expecting me to answer.
I just shrugged, sipping my coffee.
The guy was already getting odd looks from commuters. I don't think he knew how loud he was talking. “Yeah! Exactly, right? I mean, zero of my friends have this class, and I've asked a lot of people in my dorm. Family 101 doesn't exist according to Google, and that is already a huge red flag–” The guy cracked open his coffee and took a long swig (and a breath, thankfully), his expression twisting like he'd bit into a lemon.
“Urgh!”
When he politely covered his mouth before turning and spitting it out onto the sidewalk, I couldn't resist a snort.
“Do you not like canned coffee?” I asked.
“It's diet!”
“Why didn't you get a normal coffee?”
The guy blew a raspberry, taking another experimental sip. This time he didn't spit it out but he did dramatise swallowing it. “Bess would do unspeakable things to it,” he held up his can. “I would rather drink sewer water.”
I nodded slowly, following him across the road. I could see the campus ahead. It was smaller than I thought, a glass structure reflecting the early morning sun. “Bess. So, that was your sister?”
The guy shot me a look, his eyes narrowing. “Urgh. No. Ignore her, she was dropped on the head as a kid. I'm pretty sure Bess is running on half a brain-cell.”
I laughed. “She called you little bro!”
This kid was stubborn, downing his sewer water coffee. “That's her official title, but I'm pretty sure Mom fucked a demon, and out she came.”
I sipped my own lukewarm coffee. “Your family sounds… interesting.”
I still didn't know his name, and yet somehow that was okay. The guy spluttered, though his expression darkened. “Oh, you don't know the half of it,” he was squeezing the can in his fist, pulverising aluminium between his fingers. “I have a helicopter Mom who I just managed to escape. Dad fucked his twenty year old assistant, and my older sister is the second coming of Satan.”
“Escape?” I managed to say in a breath.
His gaze wandered. “Yeah. Mom’s intense. When I was in school, she wouldn't let me date or even have friends. It had to be just the two of us,” the boy sighed. “Mom hated Bess when she was little. Dad said it was postpartum depression, and she tried to get help, except she had no bond with her whatsoever.” he shot me a sickly smile.
“It was different when I was born. Mom loved me, and treated Bess like shit,” his voice cracked a little. “When we were kids, it was always me who was getting toys and vacations to Disney, while Bess got nothing. So, naturally, my older sister grew to resent me because, in her words,” he mimicked his sister’s voice.
“I'm the evil brother who took away her Mom.”
Before I could respond, he sighed. “Bess can have her. That woman is a certified psycho, and I don't say that lightly about my own mother." The guy raked his fingers down his face, and I could see the mental turmoil in his eyes.
No wonder this kid didn't want to go to his dad’s party.
“Mom locked me in my room when I turned fifteen, and refused to let me have friends. She tried to homeschool me, but dad was against it… thank god. I had a curfew of 3:30 after school, and if I wasn't back on the dot, she would come looking for me and drag me back home.”
He let out a bitter laugh, and I found myself wondering why it was me who this stranger was pouring his heart out to.
“I only managed to get away from her because of college, and even then, she tried to force me to get a job and stay at home. I had to wait until she was sleeping so I could move out. Otherwise, she would try and manipulate me into staying, and I would rather die than live in that house.”
I nodded. “Did Bess and your dad try to help you?”
The kid surprised me with a laugh. “You're kidding, right?”
We entered the campus building through automatic doors, and he stuck to my side. The interior was cosy. I appreciated the reception area filled with leather reclining chairs and the smell of freshly ground coffee beans.
When I asked where our classroom was, we were directed up a flight of stairs. My new friend took them two at a time. “Bess thinks I was Mom’s golden boy, and sure, I was on the outside. But I was also a prisoner in my own home,” reaching the top of the stairs, the boy didn't turn around, waiting for me to catch up. “My sister either didn't see it, or was in denial I was being treated worse than her.”
When I joined him, he surprised me with a smile.
“And that is why you should never have a family.” he mocked a bow. “Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.”
I offered him my own slightly forced grin.
“Noted!”
The last thing this guy needed was a class called Family 101.
He needed therapy.
The two of us were late to the class, immediately catching the attention of the professor, who was mid-rant. He was younger than I imagined, a thirty something year old man standing in front of a PowerPoint presentation.
“Late comers, please do not interrupt your classmates and find a seat please. Thank you.” The classroom was filled with students and I squeezed into a seat at the front, the guy plonking down next to me.
“As I was saying,” the man paced up and down the stage. “People are not having babies anymore, or they are, but they're not in stable families. Birth rates are at an all time high, but how many of those women are in real families?”
The boy nudged me, chuckling. “Oh, boy.”
“American families are dying,” the professor continued. “Young people don't want to create a family these days. They want to travel the world or progress in their careers. You have your teenage hood to do that. Your childhood is for discovering your identity and who you are.” he stopped pacing.
“Over fifty percent of young people these days choose to live at home with their parents to escape the reality of being an adult. You choose to bury yourselves in nostalgia, gaming, television and movies to avoid entering the world of adulthood and starting a proper family.”
The others murmured around me, some in agreement, while the majority were laughing at him.
“He definitely made those statistics up,” my friend rolled his eyes, leaning back in his seat. “This guy is a certified nut.”
I had to agree. 50% was overkill.
The professor was unfazed by the reaction. “I mean a real family. A mother and a father, and their children. Most American families are broken up and divorced. The children grow up with an unstable mother and an absent father. The mother is usually a teen parent and the father left them because he couldn't bear the responsibility.”
“Out of touch freak!”
Someone shouted in the audience.
“What if we don't want to have families?” a girl spoke up. “What the fuck are you trying to say?”
“Yeah,” another girl joined in. “It's not the 1950’s anymore, weirdo.”
A boy stood up, cupping his mouth.
“Who gives you the right to tell us what to do? We’re adults, aren't we?”
The professor folded his arms stubbornly. “Sit down,” he ordered the boy, who slumped into his seat. “Okay. Let's do a small exercise. I want you to raise your hand if you are pursuing becoming a YouTuber or online influencer.”
Looking around, nobody did.
The profesor pursed his lips. “Okay then, raise your hand if you are pursuing a career involving the internet.”
This time, half of the class raised their hands.
“This is exactly my point,” the professor stepped back. “You are the next generation who will take control of our country. Who will be expected to make choices, to look after our children and ensure we continue to be great, and yet your brains are rotting. You only care about likes, followers, and engagement. You have been brought up on the internet, brainwashed to crave the luxury lifestyles thrown in your faces.”
He stepped forward, “When you should be building families.”
Ouch.
“Should we go?” my friend whispered, knocking my shoulder. “We should definitely go, right? Unless you want to listen to Mr Patriot crying about teenagers having minds of their own.”
“Why should we make families?” a girl behind me spat, breaking the silence. “I didn't even feel safe going to school.”
Another stood up. “Why should we do what you want when you failed us, and will continue to fail our hypothetical children that you so desperately want?”
To my surprise, my friend joined in. “Get off the stage, man. You're embarrassing yourself.”
Ignoring him, the teacher cleared his throat. “All right.” His piercing gaze found my friend. “Raise your hands if you have grown up in a broken family.”
Something seemed to snap in the boy’s expression.
His arm shot up, as did everyone else’s.
I found myself torn.
Mom did leave me when I was twelve, but it was because of her mental health.
She couldn't cope with having a child.
But I was still writing her letters and visiting the wellness centre she was at.
Still, though.
That meant dad was never home, and I brought myself up.
With a heavy heart, I slowly held up my hand too.
Professor Hargreaves was visibly satisfied.
“You were all failed by your own parents,” he said. “Wouldn't you like to build a family to make up for your own abandonment? Your own trauma? Don't you want to raise healthy children who will go on to make a difference? Make our country proud?”
Jesus.
I shared a mutual smirk with Mr. Trenchcoat.
I was half expecting the star spangled banner to start playing.
Though there was just silence.
Before a guy laughed. “Dude. You need help.”
He jumped up, offering the professor a two fingered salute. “Kids suck. Besides, I’d be a shit father, so no thanks.”
The entire front row followed him, grabbing their bags.
Then my row. I stood up too, but my friend pulled me back down.
When I turned to him in confusion, I noticed he was trembling, his cheeks sickly pale under overexposed light.
He dropped to his knees and I followed.
“The doors.” the boy hissed out. “They're locking the doors!”
He was right.
When I lifted my head, students were already protesting, pushing their way to the exits where a scary amount of guards were congregating. The main door was blocked. “Sit down.” the professor ordered. “If you do not take your seat, you will be considered ineligible for the Family 101 program, and will be dealt with accordingly.”
I crawled back into my seat, the boy following suit.
“Fuck.” he whispered. “I don't think we have a choice.”
I found my voice. “To what?”
He squeezed his eyes shut, grasping for my hand. “The name of the class.”
“I repeat,” Professor Hargreaves said, “If you do not take your seat immediately, you will be considered as ineligible for the Family 101 program and will be dealt with accordingly.”
When a girl suddenly dropped to the ground, nobody seemed to notice.
But then the guy in front of me dropped to his knees, then his stomach.
I didn't notice his blood was spraying my face until my vision blurred.
Another girl tipped sideways.
The entire front row went down like domino's, and yet I stayed perfectly still.
I could feel red warmth slick on my face, dripping down my chin.
Pieces of skull dotted my desk, like cats teeth.
In the long, dizzying moment between watching my classmate’s brains being blown out, and realising I would not be getting out of that room alive, I was forced to my feet. I was still covered in blood. I could taste it on my tongue, and it didn't make sense how and why there was so much. Reality didn't make sense, and I don't think I wanted it to make sense. Sound came in waves, bleeding into me and then fading out.
Screams slammed into my skull.
Students dropped into their seats, their eyes wild.
I was half aware of being violently dragged backwards, grouped with the girls. While my friend was pulled back and forced into line with the boys. The professor told us to stand still, and we did, while a swath of black surrounded us. Guards. They poked and prodded us, forcing us to line up like cattle to the slaughter.
Ten, no, twelve, of us were dead.
The rest of us prisoners.
I remembered absently wiping slick red from a blonde’s cheek.
Oh, I thought dizzily.
So, this was Family 101.
I forgot how to think straight after that.
The world became a playground, and my mind was cotton candy. I was on my knees on the classroom floor, and then I was standing in a large white room with the rest of the girls. We were allowed to shower and dress, and that’s the last time I remember coherently thinking.
When I was dragging a scratchy sponge across my skin, watching a stranger's blood swirl around faucet, I picked up the shampoo bottle and peered at it through soaking strands of hair glued to my face.
No tears.
I wasn't crying, and the shampoo didn't sting.
No TEARS.
I laughed, a hysterical bubble of giggles escaping my mouth.
Tears.
I began with my scalp, ripping out clumps of my hair.
The shampoo bottle said no tears.
So, why did I want to tear off my own skin? Why did I want to drown myself under the spigot and escape the white?
I scrubbed my skin until my arms were bleeding, until I dropped to my knees and clawed at my legs with my fingernails. There was so much blood, so much of him painting me, scalding my skin, and I didn't even know his name.
When I tried to claw my eyes out, a female guard restrained me.
First, they took my identity.
This is where I would tell you my name, but I don't remember it.
Every part of me, every piece of her was wiped away.
The girl who liked bad horror movies and wanted to be an artist.
Inside the room with pale blue walls, that girl’s body and mind was twisted and contorted into me. They tore away my ability to cry, to scream, to beg for help, forcing metal rods into my skull and twisting until I gave up my name through a cry that begged to die. They forced me to give up the names of my family and friends, replacing them with names I did not know yet. But as the light flickered above me and time passed slowly, I stopped screaming.
I repeated the names I was told to say, when I didn't speak fast enough, I demanded to be punished.
When the electroshocks stopped running up and down my spine, my body no longer belonged to me.
I did not have feelings of pain when the back of my head was cut open.
I did not scream or cry or beg to die.
Instead, I lay very still while they hollowed me out.
When I joined a long line of girls under fluorescent lights, we looked the same.
Dolls with perfect faces and ponytails, dressed in light pink dresses.
We were Sisters.
They told us how to smile.
How to present ourselves.
If we didn't smile, we were replaced.
If we relaxed our expression or showed emotion, we were deactivated.
The topics we were allowed to discuss:
Cooking and cleaning with our mother, and our favorite book from book club
When one of us stumbled, she was dragged away and replaced with another.
I stayed in a single white room with a pink bed and a stuffed toy I named Ace.
On Choosing Day, I was given my new parents.
I was Sunny Fairview. Sixteen years old. I enjoyed reading books, listening to the radio, and helping my mother clean the house and cook dinner.
My favorite book was Paradise Lost.
I wore a bright yellow dress and a red ribbon in my hair.
Mother smelled like raspberries when I hugged her.
Father shook my hand and told me I was already the best daughter he ever had.
Brother joined us soon after. He was taller than me, brown hair slicked back, wearing simple jeans and a checker shirt. When he first hugged me, he smelled of singed flesh and his brain was leaking out of his nose.
Brother was dragged away after failing to announce his name, his lip wobbling.
“Wait.” he whimpered, blinking rapidly. “I don't… I don't understand what's–”
When his eyes rolled into the back of his head, Brother was promptly fixed.
He came back an hour later with a wide smile.
Freddie Fairview. Sixteen years old. He enjoyed football and working construction.
We lived in a small suburban neighbourhood.
Our house had a white picket fence and Freddie and I liked to play in the yard.
I read books and listened to the radio in my bedroom.
Freddie played football.
Fridays were my favourite. We had eggs benedict for breakfast.
The target knelt in front of me threw up his arms.
“Please,” he whispered. “I didn't do anything–”
Father shot him square in the head, and I lowered my gun, tucking it into my dress.
Freddie, following Father’s orders, plucked the man's eyes from his skull.
We were ordered to hand in both of them.
The Fairview family were never told any other information, except our target and location.
Luckily, the second target was at the diner while we were tucking into our breakfast. Father used his charms as usual, while Freddie and I stayed on standby. I held the rest of the customers hostage, while Mother finished her orange juice. When the target tried to escape, Brother intercepted him at the door, easily dodging his attacks.
The target was desperate, but Brother was fast.
With not much effort, Freddie Fairview was holding the target in the air, his legs dangling.
Mother continued to eat her breakfast, slicing into her sausage. “Careful, son of mine,” she hummed. “You don't want to cause a commotion now, do you?”
Brother blinked. “No, of course not, Mother.”
She nodded, swiping at her lips with a pink napkin. “Put him down, please.”
Brother dropped the target, and Mother calmly stood up, took out her polka-dot coloured pistol, and shot him point blank. When the target's eyes were in our possession, Mom laughed. “Well, kids! Now, wasn't that a lot of fun?”
She swiped blood from her face with her napkin and Brother and I resumed our places at the table. I ate my ice cream, and Brother slurped up chocolate shake. The Fairview Family were not supposed to acknowledge the people who came to clean up the mess.
We just took orders.
Mom clapped her hands together. “Who wants chocolate chip pancakes?”
I grinned.
“I do!"
The Fairview Family were just your average American family.
This time, I was running barefoot through splintered glass. It was pitch black, but my body was on autopilot.
The woman I was chasing twisted around and shot three rounds.
Each of them missed, clumsily zipping past me.
I dived onto her back, and with a twist of my wrist, sliced her throat open.
Then I stuffed my hand down her throat, acquiring the target.
A rolled up piece of paper she had tried to swallow.
Every week, I had my daily check up.
I had to sit in a white room and allow a masked man to prod at my right eye.
“Name?”
I said the same thing every time, straightening my chin.
“Sunny Fairview.”
He prodded the back of my head. “Any other names?”
I shook my head. “No, sir.”
When he prodded my head again, I felt it.
Pain.
The world erupted into confusing colour, and I let out a shriek.
Alyssa? Alyssa, can you hear me?
Static in my brain, like a radio being tuned in.
JUST YOUR AVERAGE ALL AMERICAN FAMILY.
That's what we were.
We went to the park, and had picnics.
I helped Mother cook dinner. She was going to help me make chicken pot pie.
Just like.
Every.
Alyssa, I know you can hear me!
Other.
All.
Please. Fuck. Please wake up.
American—
I’ve got it!
I forgot what colour looked like.
Blinking rapidly, I found myself sitting in my bright pink bedroom. Pink.
It drowned me, my whole room painted a pretty shade of pink. Brother was sitting cross legged in front of me. He was painted in red. There was red on his face, red on his fingers, red on his clothes. It was everywhere and it didn't suit my usually perfect brother. The red didn't make sense. It was alien and wrong. Brother leaned forward. He'd carved into his own eye with a knife.
There was something glistening between his fingers.
So much vibrant red, slick and warm.
Dripping.
Alyssa?
Brother pried my right eye open, peering at me.
In a flash, I saw a stripy backpack, warm red seeping from my nose.
Can you…
...Hear me?
The world blurred.
Static in my head, but this time I could feel.
The gravel on my bare toes when I landed.
“3.1 and 3.2. Stay where you are,” a voice screeched in my skull when I bound forwards. “The Fairview family has been compromised. Deactivate.”
I dropped to my knees, my brain sizzling.
“Wait!”
Brother put down his weapon, throwing his hands up.
“What would be the point in deactivation, huh? Don't you need us?”
10
“Professor Hargreaves,” Brother spat. “Show yourself! It's the least you can do before getting rid of your mistakes.”
9
8
7
“Preparing to self destruct.”
6
5
4
I really liked his stripy backpack.
His.
3
Stripy.
2.
Backpack.

I woke up dead.
No.
Alive, but I might as well have been dead.
“Hey, I think this one is still alive!
When I opened my eyes, colour was distorted. I was tangled in a pile of bodies like doll pieces, twisted arms and legs and torsos without heads. I didn't feel fear. I was just numb. The face peering down at me was a woman with wide eyes, dark hair scraped into a ponytail. Her expression was gentle.
“Can you tell me your name?”
When I tried to drink in my surroundings, she shook her head firmly.
“No. Hey, look at me.” she gripped my chin, forcing me to look directly at her.
“Sweetie, can you remember your name?”
Sister.
The woman's name was Miri. She introduced herself as a survivor of the Family 101 program. Her friends search Family 101 neighbourhoods for deactivated models and take them in.
There are fifteen of us, and neither of them are Brother. I wanted to go to the police, but Miri was insistent I didn't.
The police are aware of and are funding the Family 101 program.
To protect deactivated survivors, I have to stay quiet.
Over the last few months, I have been working with Dr. Michael's, who is helping me remember who I used to be.
I know that I had a mother who left me.
And I wanted to be an artist.
But that's it. The rest of me is Sister.
Miri told me to report any strange instances, though I'm not sure how to tell her.
Last night, I was sitting in the yard reading a book.
My favorite book is Paradise Lost.
Miri called me for dinner, and I lifted my head to jump up.
But I could have sworn, standing ahead of me in a perfect straight line, were all three members of The Fairview Family.
Mother, her head cocked at an unnatural angle.
Her stomach had been scooped out.
Father, half of his face ripped off.
And Brother.
The back of his head was gone, his body swaying from side to side.
But he was smiling at me, a wide skeletal grin.
And I remembered his static voice in my head.
I’ve got it!
Alyssa, look at me! We can get out of here, but I need you to trust me, okay?
Here's what I want you to…do.
Something ice cold ran down my spine, and I jumped up, taking slow steps back.
The Fairview Family stopped shuffling towards me, twisted around, and disappeared into the dark.
Freddie Fairview paused, slowly inclining his head. He seemed to stare at me for a long time, his grin growing wider, more horrific, before turning and following the others. I watched their figures get further and further away, my heart lodged into the back of my throat.
Something tells me they'll be back.
Activated or not, I think the remnants of my family want Sunny Fairview back.
I'm leaving Miri’s safe house tonight, I'm terrified of staying here.
I can't put the other survivors in danger.
Fuck.
I really liked his stripy backpack.

2024.02.12 16:04 lakewanderer082 2/12/2024 -- News You Should Know In The Twin Cities

Today is February 12th, 2024. Did you watch Usher’s Super Bowl Halftime Show? You may have noticed the roller skates he wore. Well, those skates are made in Red Wing, MN by Riedell Skates.
Here is what’s happening in the Twin Cities.

University of Minnesota Makes Moves, Announces Intention To Re-Acquire Assets from Fairview 🏥

The Summary: The University of Minnesota regents have voted to approve a nonbinding letter of intent to buy back its teaching hospital in Minneapolis from Fairview Health Services. The U of M sold the medical center to Fairview amid financial challenges in 1997.
Transaction Details: The deal is expected to close by the end of 2027, with key elements, including the purchase price, yet to be finalized.
The Context: The move follows Fairview's failed merger proposal with Sanford Health in 2023. Since the failed merger attempt, Fairview and the U of M announced their current partnership would not be renewed in 2026.
Ownership Transition: The letter of intent outlines a majority stake transfer by the end of the year, with the U initially paying Fairview for 51% of the hospital's assets.

Minnesota Legislature Kicks Off 2024 Session 🏛

The Summary: After a busy 2023 session dominated by Democrats' ambitious agenda, Minnesota lawmakers are gearing up for a potentially more typical legislative session in 2024.
Focus on Infrastructure: Last month, Gov. Walz proposed the state spend nearly $1 billion this year on infrastructure, with almost half going toward maintaining and rebuilding already existing, taxpayer-funded facilities. Passing a bonding bill will require bipartisan support.
Other Legislative Priorities: Some of the major issues on the docket include abortion rights and gender identity protections, revisions to laws regarding school resource officers, sports betting, assisted suicide, and the new state flag. .
Leadership Changes: Democratic Sen. Erin Murphy is taking over as Senate majority leader after Sen. Kari Dziedzic stepped down due to recurring cancer.

Housing

Plan For Homeless Encampments: Minneapolis City Council members are introducing three proposed ordinances to revamp the city's management of homeless encampments. The ordinances aim to mandate advance notice of evictions like that of Camp Nenookaasi, as well as establish around-the-clock temporary shelter spaces.
MN Sales Tax for Housing: DFL lawmakers are proposing a constitutional amendment to raise the state sales tax by three-eighths of 1%, with funds allocated to support homebuyers, renters, and those facing homelessness and housing insecurity.
Minnesota Homebuyer Aid: State leaders are finalizing two programs, approved and funded by last year’s Legislature, to assist homebuyers. Qualified buyers will soon have access to funds aimed at addressing down payment barriers, with forgivable, zero-interest loans of up to $35,000 available for first-generation and foreclosure-affected buyers.

Healthcare

Medical Debt Proposal: Gov. Tim Walz and DFL lawmakers are leading a legislative effort to enact permanent restrictions on medical collections and prevent hospitals from denying non-emergency care to patients with significant overdue bills. The proposed legislation would also focus on banning medical debt from affecting credit scores.
Nurses Union Pushes for Hospital CEO Pay Cap: The Minnesota Nurses Association is advocating for a limit on CEO pay at nonprofit hospitals as part of its "Healing Greed Agenda" for the 2024 legislative session. The announcement comes on the heels of a new report showing Minnesota non-profit health system CEO pay has continued to increase.

What Else We’re Reading…Could beer be coming to Minnesota grocery stores? 🍺

The Summary: According to the MinnPost, a bipartisan bill is in the works to allow the sale of “strong” beer in Minnesota grocery stores.
Current Alcohol Sales Restrictions: Minnesota is currently the only state that limits alcohol sales to liquor stores, with supermarkets and convenience stores only allowed to sell low-alcohol three-two beer.
Opposition: While Klein and some legislators support the expansion of beer sales in grocery stores, others, like State Rep. Zack Stephenson, have expressed concerns about its potential impact on small businesses and craft breweries.

Sports

🏀 Gopher Men’s Basketball Blows Lead: The Gophers led by as many as 20 points against the Iowa Hawkeyes but struggled down the stretch in a 90-85 loss on the road.
🏒 Gopher Men’s Hockey Sweep: The #8 Gophers delivered two shut-outs of Penn State led by goaltender Justen Close.
💰 Justin Jefferson Contract Talks: In an interview last week, the Vikings star wide receiver told Adam Schein that he wants to “break the bank” with his next contract. Jefferson has one more year on his rookie contract.
🏒 Wild Win: The Minnesota Wild have won two straight games coming out of the All-Star break with wins over the Penguins and Blackhawks.
🏈 PJ Fleck Staying Home: After rumors that PJ Fleck may be in consideration for the open UCLA football head coach job, Fleck tweeted that he is staying in MN..

Live and up-close, pioneering media performer 99 Hooker brings his latest show "Holy Twinkie" to the Guild Cinema November 11th, 10:30 PM. Mixing pop culture, handmade media, the work of underground and famed artists, B movies, infomercials and more, his collage of the absurd and poignant affirms George Clinton's dictum "Nothing is good unless you play with it." “For the past 40 years legendary underground writer, spoken word artist and sound/media sculptor 99 Hooker has been creating his own unique brand of searing and hilarious social criticism that continues the legacy of the beat movement and Hunter S Thompson on into the 21st century. His anecdotes, rants and insane poetry, culled from years of wandering around America and abroad, re-confirm the old adage that ‘truth is stranger than fiction’ and has become an inspiration for a whole new generation of alternative creators.” – David Krakauer

No experience necessary for the laborer custodial or maintenance mechanic positions. It helps on the interview but you can surely think of maintenance related experience to relay for an interview. Based on fixing things around your house, the car etc. Always mention working safely.

Pro tip: You can apply for any job that has an exam opening and the test is administered local to yourself. Make sure you're serious and score decently; you can turn down the job offer. Keep a physical copy of your exam score, I believe they are good for two years.
The reason is: These job postings can be posted externally at capacity for testing, meaning they will not allow you to take the exam if they have enough qualified applicants. However, if you have a test score on the books, you are a qualified applicant.

Explanation of MVO/TTO to save time:
MVO= CDL B Can only drive box trucks on public roads, can drive anything for moves on postal property.
TTO= CDL A Can drive anything.

2023.08.17 13:08 PeterJackson2001 Should southern England be an independent country in 2024?

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, i am a new user so i would like to introduce my vision for soon-to-be an independent Southern England:
"Over the last year, I made a soft launch for my campaign to hold a non-vote referendum on whenever England would be split up and granted Southern England independence from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Originally scheduled for 30th July 2023, this referendum would lead to a new path in this nation alone by leaving the UK behind and moving forward with our plans without any controversial political involvement like Tories and the Liberal Democrats etc.
But with all of the personal issues in my mind right now, I have to delay it for another several months to solve my personal life.
However, this updated report still contains the plans for an independent Southern England including the end of free movement for every residential UK citizen as well as replacing the incompetent woke-and-broke police system with the returning military control but with more clear and appropriate details. The question is: Should Southern England be an independent country? The answer is.....Yes!!!
In this report, I have to tell you before we start; I would show you a brief profile about myself. I know it’s very personal but shall we begin? Let’s go!!
So I was born at the Queen Elizabeth Il Hospital in the town of Welwyn Garden City on Tuesday 5th May 1998. My mum used to work at some sort of Tesco’s workplace and my dad used to work at several places in Hertfordshire since 1983.
It may now be the first garden city in the world instead of Letchworth, Welwyn Garden was founded in 1920 by Sir Ebeneezer Howard. Louis de Soissons (pronounced Lewis de Swasons) was a planning consultant for the design of the town.
It used to have an old railway station - now occupied by The Howard Centre which was opened in 1990.
The town of Welwyn Garden City is rapidly evolving after the Second World War, including some of the buildings that come and go like the old Sainsbury’s building that existed since 1961 but was demolished in 2010 and the newly-modern Sainsbury’s building was opened the following year.
Now, let’s go back to my life, my interests are history; films; television; books; and music but don’t forget my favourite hobby is video games.
I am indeed autistic since 2004 and therefore I was educated at Radlett Lodge School since 2008.
Since 2011, I was on social media including Twitter and YouTube; although nobody recognises me as a rising star yet it is long progress to become one of them.
On 30th March 2017, however, the Social Services from Hertfordshire had planned to illegally remove me from my family and placed me into care with a 12-week assessment.
For two weeks, my parents hid me from them going through London; Clacton; and the Embassy Hotel in Great Yarmouth before the authorities unlawfully took me away from them on 13th April 2017.
Then, overnight, they took me to Cambian Fairview Hospital in Colchester for nine weeks before transferring me to Morven House in Potter Bar on 15th June 2017. However, that place is a care home full of racist threats towards me by several black staff members and I believe it has dark secrets behind closed doors - including my first encounter with their plan for an attempted murder on me such as Elo’s assault me by hitting me with a door and trying to hit me against a wall because I threw the bolognese sauce on him after telling me about putting it in a microwave oven. I believe that this was an attempted murder on me and I can’t take this shit anymore because there were no investigations into Morven House but I will get back to that in a moment.
But first, I am going to update you regarding the future of England and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland by presenting you with a new version of my report.
So I would like to confirm the plan that, on Saturday 6th January 2024, I will hold a non-vote referendum on whenever England should be split up for good and - at the same time - granting Southern England its independence.
Non-voting is my brand new concept of human history but it does mean everyone can be entitled to make a people’s agreement with each other on game-changing plans without entering the voting ballot to avoid every political scenario including the general election and a Yes/No vote as it happened in the first Scottish independence referendum when it was announced in 2010 before taking place in 2014.
Once an agreement was made on that, 2-month preparation would get underway by providing some risk assessments for businesses and organisations which should leave the UK before independence as I schedule Southern England to leave Britain at 7pm on Saturday 30th March 2024.
It includes big brands like the BBC, HMV, Sainsbury’s, The Disney Store (in London), and Primark - they’re among the brands who are likely to leave the remaining UK before Southern England’s upcoming independence from Britain so new brands can emerge over there after we left the UK.
A new government (post-independence) building would be located at Hyde Way in the Hertfordshire town of Welwyn Garden City where it seems that they building houses but it is currently concerning that the town would become a concrete garden city unless no more new houses were built.
That could be a perfect place for a new government building to be set up and occupy the now-empty film studio building that once existed between 1928 and 1951 by the name of Welwyn Studios; a former film studio located at Broadwater Road in the same town. The building was completely demolished in 2018.
Pre-independence, an American developer should provide an artist impression of what the government building could look like when Southern England leaves the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Maybe if there’s a new lobby and the Assembly as well but also a new broadcast centre for the BBC continuity team and of course a brand new local BBC Hertfordshire service including brand-new facilities and hiring plans for new Southern-based and American presenters without spending money on training.
For as long as the preparation for some of the risk is done and preparing to leave, we are out of here!!!
On one Saturday in March, the split of England would come first at 6pm; dividing into two: South of England and North of England. a minute later, the South of England would be renamed itself to Southern England. And finally, at 7pm, Southern England (including the Midlands) will leave the United Kingdom at long last - having spent nearly 1100 years of our relationship with England’s northern area and nearly 320 years of its relationship with Britain. Yes, guys, we would be watching history in the making for the very last time in human history!!!
The following day, the morning of Sunday 31st March 2024, we would hold the coronation of a new government which would make history by becoming the world’s first civilian-led government after years of a political-based government being located in London since the 12th century following the transition from Winchester. After which, the remaining UK would have to form a new government in Manchester if that's an appropriate area, five days after Southern England left the UK.
It would be followed by my introduction to the new government (just crossing the road to the now-empty Shredded Wheat factory) and then a one-hour debate before the first three new laws are passed.
The report explores new policies and planning for Southern England post-independence and beyond.
So before I can introduce the proposal planning and policies, the following does not endorse nor is subject to criticism, racism, or controversies so please be respectful about this report if you mind.
The new government would be dominated by the people of Southern England, although politics would no longer be welcomed decision-making; checks; balances of power will remain if neither less.
With careful consideration and further precautions being made, Parliament would be shut down by at least 28th March 2024 with their last-ever debate and proceedings being taken place at the House of Commons and the House of Lords before being closed down for good - ahead of Southern England’s independence from the United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland.
So let’s begin our plan for the future ahead in an independent Southern England:
Our first plan is to be an issue with the police system because I am not going to say about it but I was harassed and insulted by two officers who unfounded accused me of damaging Morven House’s properties and they almost threatened to put me in prison as a target for backlash from my family and lawyers when I was illegally placed in care for five years until I recently came back to Welwyn Garden City on 17th June 2022 after the authorities turned against me over my behaviour. These allegations by Morven House and the police made me upset and angry as I don’t like them anymore as no investigation into Morven House was made.
So I would like to introduce a new policy: the Military (Army) Safeguarding Act, a new law that the military soldiers could replace the police as part of my plan to re-imagine the emergency services. The new law would be part of the new Emergency Services Act 2024 through the planned abolishment of the Metropolitan Police Act of 1829 and the police force would be replaced with the return to safeguarding military power to keep the population safe from any form of crime - including sexual harassment and terrorism - but also respect civil liabilities with careful practice and training to avoid any intervention in civilian life as required.
The new Emergency Services Act 2024 also include plans to reduce waiting times for patients as well as reduce ambulance delays by recruiting Southern-based and international frontlines. In addition, new firefighters would be recruited by only military officers for the first time since the 19th century.
The second policy to be introduced is the regulations of passports between Southern England and the UK as I am prepared to enter a new law by setting out permanent restrictions on residents travelling to Britain as it would be no longer appropriate after independence but remains in place for workers who are willing to travel from the remaining UK to Southern England for another ten years, mostly known for delivering supplies for food and other stuff, while new factories are to be built and are due to be completed by 2035 at the earliest after passports for supply delivery workers expired on 31st December 2034 - meaning that only new delivery workers can supply their stuff instead across Southern England beyond 31st December 2034.
The third policy is the most important one is the number of short words that use in our human language through everyday lives and social media. Therefore I have to declare, for the first time, these short words as an offensive and discriminatory use of human language (L** D**, for example). This is why I get so much angry and upset over it so that’s also why I am going to set out a new policy by banning the short words - apart from the use of swearing and some of the names of companies; organisations; and shows - because it is now getting too much for me for the last five years in my life and therefore it should be a full stop in human history!!!
The new law also means that some of the shows and films, that contain possible discriminatory use of short words, must be withdrawn and destroyed from circulation including two Doctor Who episodes (such as Kablam! and Arachnids in the UK) and a 1977 Christmas Special of Some Mothers Do Have Them (which contains a possible a discriminatory short word on a dressing room door in a scene). The reason why the new government is to ban these short words is because they should’ve been wrong in the past and may have been wrong now.
As I already said about politics coming to an end in Southern England (SEN) earlier in this report, I would plan to abolish the current political system after years of causing turmoil; controversies; and criticisms surrounding the troubled political landscape. As a result, the role of the Prime Minister and Members of Parliament (MPs) would be replaced by the new role of the Executive and Members of the Assembly (MAs) while moving away from the controversies of Westminster for the first time since 1215 and 1801 respectively. In addition, all political parties such as Conservatives; Labour; and the Liberal Democrats would be abolished as I commit them to become non-existed for the first time since the role of Prime Minister and MPs came into existence in 1721.
While at it, after the new government is created, it would be aimed at being the oldest legislature in the world by at least 1st January 4000 - years after removing the classic history of Parliament post-independence under a new World Status Act. Meanwhile, as the Republic campaign began protesting again the monarchy after the sudden death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth Il on 8th September 2022, I am committed to finally abolishing the monarchy after years of being the world’s oldest royal era and replacing it with the Head of State.
The Executive, MAs, and the Head of State would be appointed every ten years without holding a general or local election because of the existing political scenario outside Southern England - including the remaining UK.
This would be the first time for this country alone to hold no elections whatsoever in Southern England’s history after granting ourselves independence from Great Britain and instead a ten-year appointment plan being in place.
On a historic occasion, I will set out a plan to re-imagine the NHS under a new name - Wellbeing/Health Service - which will have allows better pay and equal conditions for all doctors & nurses. In addition, there would have more recruited male staff members and fewer females but also more Asian and less black (until the 2050s). For the first time, the plan would allow the Jewish and Travellers to work with the newly-reimagined health service for the first time since 1946.
Talking of black, the historic law would fill up the paperwork for Southern English-born black residents to have the full right to sign and agree to return to their ancestral countries of Africa and Jamaica after 2050 due to causing the country turmoil as a result of the worst racist riots of 1958-1985 in our history targeting on white Southern English, Asian, and European population in the country (where it is currently still with England at this time). It would also help and protect the Irish, Travellers, and Jewish from racism following racist comments from black critics including former Labour MP Diane Abbot (which was featured in a Guardian article).
Another policy that I would introduce is the new End of Strike Action Bill which allows both the government and the unionists to sit down and negotiate with each other based on their guidance for fair pay and working conditions before permanently striking the historic deal by creating a clearer and more effective system.
for addressing grievances and resolving disputes after the meeting between the Southern English government, employers and their representatives took place to discuss and review pay & working conditions for all employers; to set realistic targets for improvements.
Before all this happens, I would introduce a new Economy Reinvention Act to reduce inflation but also to reduce price rises for foods and others. In addition, the government would be committed to introducing the new £100 & £200 notes that will be exclusive to both London and Hertfordshire before other Southern English areas follow suit in an attempt at aiming to become the richest country in the world by the end of 2070 at the earliest.
One of the top priorities is climate change. I have to declare that it is not to do with human activity or fossil fuels or oil but rather saying that nature is responsible for driving extreme weather and global warming and therefore I have to declare that nature is responsible for creating climate change. So that is why I have to set out a new Climate Change Prevention Act to try and create a cleaner Southern England by introducing eco-friendly buildings such as the new governmental building in Welwyn Garden City post-independence.
So, our other policy is to be post-independence trade deals with other countries outside the remaining parts of the UK would create new jobs; infrastructure; and global security. Also introduced is a new citizenship bill that if you’re an American or Irish or Canadian citizen who wants to work or live in Southern England then they must apply for their citizenship to become a Southern English citizen with an inclusive, welcoming, and ambitious vision of the entitlement to Southern English citizenship. They would also be able to get a Southern English passport as frequently as possible if they want to. Post-independence, of course!!
Speaking of citizens, I am committed to ending free movement to all residential UK citizens - who could no longer have the right to remain in Southern England - after 31st December 2026 at the earliest. However, despite this, celebrities from the rest of the UK would retain their contract with Southern-based film & television industries until after that year under the Celebrity Contracts Act which would last until at least 1st January 2027 at the latest.
In addition, the new government would also be committed to ensuring that residential citizens from all over the world, who have built their lives in, and contributed so much to, Southern England, have the right to remain.
At the moment, my mum is currently requesting the court to remove the following laws that shouldn’t exist anymore including the Mental Health Act; Court of Protection; and Sector 15 because I shouldn’t be placed under them which resulted in the illegal removal of myself by Hertfordshire’s Social Services in 2017.
So I would commit that, after independence, the new government would create a new alternative system that will give people exclusive access to the replacement system - marking the end of the care system under the new Right Treatment Act in post-Britain Southern England.
My new government would also commit to increasing our defense team and profits in making this country the world’s largest arms dealer by the end of 2070 at the latest.
The new government would also be committed to reinventing major events by introducing new events that would move away from both Eurovision and the UN Climate Change Conference - because London should’ve held these events rather than Glasgow in 2021 and Liverpool this May - post-independence.
In a post-UK country, we would like to present our conference for climate change called Southern England Climate Change Conference in London (1st-8th November 2024).
Also confirmed is the Southern English Song Contest and I would proclaim London & Welwyn Garden City as hosts for the new singing contest which would take place between 9th-13th October 2025.
Before doing so, I would commit to removing all UK references across Southern England including London’s Natural History Museum; Science Museum; and Albert & Victoria Museum post-independence.
British history and culture would also be removed from Southern England and instead, focus on our history but also altering most of its history as well forever.
The new government would also replace the outdated Released Under Investigation (RUI) with Charged Under Investigation (CUI) where some people can be charged under further investigation with a crime without any pre-bail release but it would also make history of the justice system forever. The policy would prioritse the charges against former TV presenter Michael Barrymore over the death of a man in a swimming pool in a back garden outside of his home in March 2001. Despite their previous arrests last decade, comedians Freddie Starr and Jim Davidson would finally also face further actions under a new proposal to reverse previous investigations from the 2010s.
To continue the support of physical media, major restrictions would be made against streaming services as they would do too much power when they remained a major threat to DVD and Blu-ray - mostly film and TV shows. This comes after Disney+ removes all of the original film and television series such as Willow and The One and Only Ivan. By prioritising Disney to release more classic films in 4K and HD on Blu-ray (such as White Fang and Iron Will), it would've been better for film and TV fans by launching a physical media store in Southern England - to focus more on Blu-ray and DVD in an attempt to save them from extinction with more extra features and some extended versions of the entire films (e.g. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe).
A few more policies that I would introduce are the restrictions on music tours from coming to the remaining UK as I would commit make musicians forbidden from coming to the UK such as Scotland and Wales. Instead, international singers and groups would have to prioritise Southern England for their music tours which also applied to stand-up comedies and musicals - who are among them likely to be affected by the change after independence.
At the height of Southern England's departure from the United Kingdom, some of the shows that were originally made in Britain would be slowly phased out in September 2024, six months after independence, after a big bang approach happened on independence day The process would begin on 1st September of the same year and would be completed on 1st January 2026 under a new proposal the new government would set out. But it means that new shows would only be made in Southern England if several broadcasters, mainly the BBC, closed down several facilities in the remaining UK pre-independence including Manchester; Glasgow; Belfast; and Cardiff ahead of Southern England's upcoming independence from Britain on 30th March 2024.
Under a new plan, the seasonal celebrations would begin to phase out gradually between December 2024 and October 2025 in Southern England post-independence. I would choose Christmas as the first seasonal greetings to be phased out with immediate effect on 26th December 2024 after 181 years of celebration. Followed by New Year on 1st January 2025 and then Easter; and finally, Halloween on 31st October 2025. This would end centuries of seasonal celebrations after uncertainty was made by the Coronavirus pandemic across the country in 2020.
There’s one more, I would set out the plan in pulling Southern England out of the United Nations (UN) in March 2025 and forming the new United World Committee (UWC) - a joint between Southern England, the United States, Mexico, South America, Ukraine, Egypt, Italy, Spain, and France. Threats would remain monitored, mostly coming from either Russia; China; or North Korea.
There will be more policies and plans are expected to be confirmed over the coming months after this report was made.
Now, to conclude before I can end this report, my life is so personal and I got to tell you guys that it was broken by this care abuse both at Morven House and before that at Cambain. In the later years, my life was utterly shattered by the woke unfounded allegation against me by the police; social services; and Morven House for racism and damages to the care home’s property which I denied because I have suffered from trauma and not mental health after made false information about me and my family over the years.
As the authorities and the UK government failed to recognise the illegal removal of myself as a threat to my welfare for which they ignored me and my family, I have to go back to my original home with my family since 17th June 2022 after five years of being abused in the care system for which is the reason why the care system should be removed as my family and I have lawyers since late-2017.
I have to reveal something because the southern side of England should’ve been the top game-changer instead of the rest of the UK. After all, it makes me upset when I looked at the news of it.
For example, England should’ve become the first UK country to reach the Coronavirus vaccine milestone in February 2021 instead of Wales. England should’ve become the first UK country to have a 1-meter social distancing in Summer 2020 instead of Northern Ireland. And lastly, England should’ve become the first UK country to ban smacking in 2019 instead of Scotland - although no current plans since last year.
I can’t take shit anymore in this British nation so that’s why I will prepare to make a public campaign to grant southern England independence in 2024, 1 minute after the split of England.
This would allow Southern England (together with the Midlands) to go its way beyond Britain and its history.
I believe that an independent Southern England would be safer, stronger, and better than any other country in the world in a grand-scale situation like this before.
I would make Southern England the sole leader in the world in game-changing events and everything else
in the history of our planet Earth itself. I would call Southern England a father country post-independence.
Historically, the new government would become the world’s first 24/7 governance which would include three shifts such as overnight staffing, standing-in members, and Deputy Executives to keep the government open without holding a recess like the current government today.
Racism by black people, controversies, criticisms, and divided reasons may worsen the southern side of England more than ever in this nation alone and therefore it’s time to go for ourselves.
The future of southern England is in our hands by merging this and the Midlands to form a country known as the Republic of Southern England.
Sports are likely to be affected unless postponed or cancelled to re-imagine sporting events in Southern England post-independence.
However, whatever the costs may be for our nation, it is time to take the risk of granting Southern England as an independent nation away from the United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland.
That’s all I have to say at the moment due to the issues that are still around me and I need to focus on my family’s efforts to get justice against Hertfordshire Social Services over my illegal removal.
I hope you’ll understand this update on this short report but there’s more to confirm soon.
Yours sincerely, Callum Precious. P.S. We are freedom for all!!!"

I would make Southern England the sole leader in the world in game-changing events and everything else in the history of our planet Earth itself.

2023.06.22 17:58 Reddit_Michelle Is my August itinerary feasible?

Been reading posts and the extremely helpful FAQ and wiki. I'm planning a trip for August 2024, so none of this is locked in. Right now I'm just trying to see if this is a workable plan so I can start to build my lodging options. I'll be flying into Calgary from California with a friend and meeting another friend who is flying in from North Carolina, so someone will be at the airport first. My goal for the days where it's possible is to kind of build morning thing, back to the area of the hotel, afternoon thing, back to the area of the hotel, evening thing. That way if not everyone wants to do everything, or someone isn't feeling well, there's an opportunity to sit out part of the day without missing out completely. I'm most worried about Wednesday since it's our only day in Jasper and I'm trying to cram in as much as I can.
Saturday - fly in, rent car, get National Parks pass at airport. Make a grocery run while we wait for the other flight. Drive to Banff. If early enough, walk to Bow Falls and to dinner. Overnight in Banff.
Sunday - Johnston Canyon, lunch in Banff, Lake Minnewanka (kayak if available, hike to Stewart Canyon if not), dinner in Banff, Vermillion Lakes for sunset. Overnight in Banff.
Monday - earliest Parks Canada shuttle to Moraine Lake (assuming we get tickets), Rockpile/Lakeshore/Consolation Lakes hikes OR Eiffel Lake, picnic lunch, shuttle back to Park and Ride, Lake Louise gondola, drinks at the top (if we're there early enough), dinner in Banff. Overnight in Banff.
Tuesday - Yoho and IP. Take 1A to see Morant Curve. Emerald Lake, Tak falls, Peyto Lake, assorted other stops including a picnic lunch, dinner in Jasper, drinks at Fairmont Jasper. Overnight in Jasper (not at the Fairmont).
Wednesday - Drive Maligne Lake Road early, Maligne Canyon, lunch in Jasper, Path of the Glacier, Old Fort Point Trail. If Path of the Glacier parking lot is full, switch with Old Fort Point and try again later in the afternoon. Dinner in Jasper. Overnight in Jasper.
Thursday - Back down IP. Athabasca Falls, Sunwapta Falls, Athabasca Glacier (just the short trail, not the tour), Parker Ridge Trail, assorted other stops that we missed on Tuesday including a picnic lunch, Lake Louise. Late afternoon/early evening Fairview Lookout Trail OR Lakeshore Trail. Dinner at Fairmont LL. Overnight at Fairmont LL.
Friday - Sunrise canoe, breakfast, move from guest parking to non-guest parking (presumably necessary), Lake Agnes Teahouse OR Plain of Six Glaciers (if we do Plain of Six of Glaciers, the Thursday hike will be Fairview so that we don't repeat the Lakeshore section), maybe afternoon tea at Fairmont LL (but probably not), back to Banff for dinner. Overnight in Banff.
Saturday - we know we have to clear US customs in Calgary, so depending on flight times, maybe time for Sunrise at Tunnel Mountain OR Bow Falls if we got in too late to do it the previous Saturday OR maybe just over to Surprise Corner. Pack, breakfast, off to Calgary.
Is this too ambitious? The three of us are getting together in October to discuss our "must dos" - anything else is subject to being dropped on any given day. We're all pretty experienced travelers and hikers and don't mind long driving days as long as there are stops on the way. Thoughts?
