I've been quite active on this subreddit for a while now, so I come with yet another question.
I wish to be an English teacher in the future, so, obviously for my Bachelor I wish to make the right choice, but I am extremely undecided between two, very good in my opinion, options!
First option would be to pursue an HBO Bachelor in International Education with a specialization in English, which would give me the opportunity to have up to 11 weeks of practice in International schools and to master the knows-and-how's of TEFL. The programme says that it teaches students to, and I quote:

In your first year, year 1, you explore what it means to assume the role of a teacher in international education. You become aware of your own cultural identity and acquire intercultural skills. You encounter the social aspects of learning and teaching in a global context through the course units of Exploring the world of international education, Citizenship and Educational Studies. In the DBE lab, you'll work on creating a lesson using the design cycle, collaborating with students from different specializations.

For the former years it still teaches you things along the lines of this + A LOT of practice. Thing is, this Bachelor does not instantly offer you a Dutch Teaching Permit, rather it gives you a Teaching Permit for International Schools. They say I can do the pedagogy module while doing my Bachelor, but would that allow me to teach English in Dutch Public schools? Besides that, I don't know whether I could potentially go to a WO master after pursuing this HBO bachelor, any thoughts on this subject?
Second option, the usual one, would be for me to pursue a WO Bachelor of European Languages and Culture (Specialization in English + Another language if possible), do the pedagogy curriculum and then pursue a Master's programme in a more in-depth subject.
Which would be a better option and which do you guys think would be more beneficial to me? I'd like to study up to a PhD, is that even possible for HBO graduates?

This topic is difficult to research online, given how little discussion there is around it, if any. Still, I believe it is possible to regenerate glans penis tissue, given that our bodies' cells are in a constant process of regeneration (death and birth) at a controlled rate. When it gets out control, it's called cancer but that's another topic; this needs to be a controlled, effective and safe kind of treatment. Glans regeneration (regrowth, tissue repair, however you wish to call it) may also be possible with some kind of stem cell therapy. If some kind of wound or burn happens on it, it obviously can heal to a considerable degree if you're healthy, so there must be a way to stimulate the procreation of new cells in this part of the body.
The reason why I'm asking is because, throughout the months, I washed my glans penis too frequently and too intensely in the shower due to my OCD. It was a grave and stupid mistake of mine that I really regret, and I'm looking for a solution. What happened: I ended up slightly deforming my glans penis, making it a bit flatter on top and slimmer on the sides, giving it a slightly conical shape, and reducing the protuberance of my urethra opening. This has made me feel like my sexual wellbeing has considerably decreased.
Furthermore, I have a couple of ideas in my mind to stimulate glans tissue regrowth or regeneration: Applying honey or olive oil, or both (going the natural, non-pharmaceutical route).

Also, of course, including plenty of protein in diet (like a carnivore diet or thorugh protein supplements) is important for tissue repair. And olive oil, or extra-virgin olive oil more specifically, has a downside which is the risk of yeast infection, as far as I'm concerned. So a way to properly sterilize olive oil for healing as a topical treatment, without having it lose its beneficial chemical properties, is needed. I guess there's also coconut oil but I don't know if it can be of any help, since I've heard it's used for other reasons... Including plenty of vitamin C in the diet can also help the body produce its own collagen, as far as I'm concerned, and collagen is necessary for tissue to be healthy, is it not?
So do you have any suggestions? Please help, thank you! If you're just going to comment something like "regeneration isn't possible" or "there's nothing you can do" then don't even bother doing so, since that kind of answer is unhelpful and arrogant (because science is in a constant process of evolution and discovery, and just because you think it isn't possible, doesn't mean it actually isn't).

I’ve been spinning in circles trying to find the best breed for us. The short intro: my son really wants/needs an emotional support animal to help him cope with severe anxiety by having a calm friend to sit with. But we are also an active, busy family that wants a fun friend that is not too much work or that costs a ton for grooming.
1) Will this be your first dog? If not, what experience do you have owning/training dogs?
This will be our family’s first dog. My wife grew up with dogs in her home.
2) Do you have a preference for rescuing a dog vs. going through a reputable breeder?
No preference, but looking for an adult dog that is already somewhat well behaved.
3) Describe your ideal dog.
A dog that can primarily be a companion for my so , but also an active friend for the whole family. We are busy and don’t have a lot of extra money, so we are trying to avoid a dog that requires extensive grooming or high cost professional grooming every month.

We have considered the doodles, labs, golden retrievers, havanese. My son loves the look of Samoyeds and Bernese Mountain Dogs but recognizes they might be a good fit for us.

No extensive training other than being a calm companion for my son at times.

All together, we have 1-2 hours a day for active engagement with the dog, many more hours for snuggling
8) How long can you exercise your dog each day, on average? What sorts of exercise are you planning to give your dog regularly and does that include using a dog park?
1 hour. We live near two dog parks and also like to go for walks and jogs, if the dog can handle running.
9) How much regular brushing are you willing to do? Are you open to trimming hair, cleaning ears, or doing other grooming at home? If not, would you be willing to pay a professional to do it regularly?
We can handle brushing multiple times a week. We can do basic trimming and grooming at home but would likely need a professional grooming for more extensive jobs. We are open to paying, but don’t want to have a pay hundreds a month for grooming.

Small to medium. My wife wants a dog she can pick up if needed.
11) How much shedding, barking, and slobber can you handle?
We are open to all of these things, but would prefer as little as possible of each.

There may be one day a week where the dog would be alone for 4-5 hours. Other than that, we may all be gone 1-2 hours a day. I work from home most days and could be around to take care of the dog, but not necessarily actively engage all day.

All will be involved with the dog, my son wants a calm companion. My daughters want a dog to play fetch with. My wife wants a low maintenance dog.

Hi, I m a 22 year old Dental Tehnician from Romania and i m thinking about quitting the dental field. I started the 3 years of courses with optimism, hope and a good view on the dental technician career, I started working as a intern at the end of my first year of college. At first I went to the stone casting department and learned șomer of it but the bosses would nt let me do anything, so i changed labs, at this new lab i worked for 2 years, in wich i learned how to cast all types of stone models, how to glaze and adapt zirconia crowns and bridges, how to operate 3D printing machines and metal 3D printers, some ceramic stratification, how to organize lab cases, and other things along the way. I quit from this lab( where I was appreciated for my long hours of working and dedication, but only that, not much money, the usual day would be 10 to 11 hours, 5 days a week + 2 saturdays a month for the minimum wage of 400 €, as i was not legally employed because i was a student), i quit because they were going to change the location of the lab to a bigger building outside of the city, where the busses dont go i could not afford a car with what they paid me. After i graduated in July of 2023 they offered me employment full time for 600€/month, i have not accepted it because i was glazing around 500+ crowns of zirconia a month and the doctors were happy with them as well as the pacients (even had the big honour of doing the zirconia crowns for the all on 6 upper jaw piece for the lab's HR employee), the boss said that i was the best and most hard working student he s ever had, but not good enough to accept my offer(700€/month full-time). I got to another, smaller, lab where the boss was not happy with anything i was doing, looking for any small mistake or reason just to cut from my paycheck of 500€ a month(my rent and utilities get around 250€ without food and basic needs) so i quit again. Another lab, same old story, grumpy boss all the time, says i know nothing(which i was aware of because i didnt consider myself a master, but let s Say a level 3 out of 10) and i sould get happy i m getting some money from what i m working( he payed me 400€) and i should be grateful to him not charging me money for teaching me what he knows, și i quit. Now i quit the prothetic part and i m in a orthodontics lab, making removable appliances but i still work long hours, i still dont have time for myself and the people around me, i still get told things like "it s your fault that You dont have time and money" from my boss, my phisical and mental health are getting worse by the day and i have a grim outlook of my future working in this field. I envy my friends who work as Call Assistants because they get to work from home all day and make more money than me and i find myself questioning If is this the path i want in life, to live just above the surface of poverty, to not have time for my familly and hobbies, to die of some work related illnes? I want to quit because i ve tried 5 different labs and not one showed a better future( the one where I worked for 2 years was better, but only because i was a student, saw someone 1 year higher than me graduate and after he was employed they treated him like a pack mule as well). I feel ashamed of quitting because it would feel like giving up, but i m tired of not living my life, of living my youth years in the lab, of not being able to afford more than my basic needs, i know i m at the beginning but i când feel this field of work is killing me already and i dont see an end to the suffering which I now have.

45 (M) I've been aware that my testosterone has been low for 8 years now sitting at around 200-300 (I know this may not be considered low for every lab but were reported as low by Labcorp) I have developed normally and a doctor checked it when I was around 25 for some reason and it was around 750 so it's not a genetic issue. I had become obese (225 lbs 5'9") and pre-diabetic at that point, which was the likely cause, and was put on Metformin. I decided to get back in shape by doing cardio mixed with weights and cutting calories to between 1600-1900 calories per day and got down to 195 lbs. My testosterone did not improve despite this and a urologist put me on Clomid. That got me in the high 300s to low 400s and eventually settling in at around 500. I tried getting off of it after getting fit but my testosterone plunged to 95. Last year my urologist had me switch to trt injections (100mg) weekly and I'm sitting around 700-800. I have mildly elevated hemocrit and hemoglobin. My endocrinologist wants me to wean off of the testosterone which I am doing. I am also on Mounjaro after regaining weight due to a torn rotator cuff and painful neuroma in my foot making working out more difficult (and yes eating too much). I am down to 185 and she wants me to lose 20lbs more. She says my test could possibly return to normal at that weight. If not, she is willing to do more testing. I'm wondering why the urologist didn't do more testing to begin with. I don't want to put myself at risk or permanently damage anything further. I know I am probably not going to feel great withdrawing from TRT but I'm willing to do it to see what happens. I am also prescribed Adderall by a psychiatric nurse and am worried about what it will do to my cardiovascular health. I have PTSD and treatment resistant depression but I'm not sure I have ADHD as those symptoms can overlap. None of this sounds particularly smart to me and I want to get off of the Adderall, too, but I'm scared of being mentally unbalanced withdrawing from all of this and with starting an amazing but demanding new job and making 6 figures for the first time in my life. It's going to be rough going for a while. I'm not looking for solutions but just some guidance about my situation. Thanks to anyone who reads this and can offer any thoughts.

EcoHealth Alliance...[faces] accusations that its experiments with bat coronaviruses could have contributed to the development and spread of SARS-CoV-2...
EcoHealth and its defenders have said the organization is being scapegoated and that no evidence exists linking its work to the pandemic...

EcoHealth President Peter Daszak misled the public during the earliest days of the pandemic when he condemned "conspiracy theories suggesting that COVID-19 does not have a natural origin". In reality, a laboratory origin for SARS-CoV-2 was always a legitimate scenario, never a conspiracy theory.
Lying to the public is one thing but trying to deceive the Department of Defense might have crossed a line:

Investigators have also focused on a 2018 proposal by EcoHealth to experiment on bat coronaviruses, with Daszak suggesting that the work could be performed at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, according to documents first obtained by U.S. Right to Know, a nonprofit that has probed the origins of the virus. Federal officials at [DARPA] rejected the proposal, and EcoHealth officials have said they did not separately pursue the work detailed in that proposal...

The 2018 proposal in question (aka Project DEFUSE) planned to conduct risky research on bat coronaviruses but:

[T]hese experiments were proposed to occur in part in Wuhan with fewer safety precautions than required in the US...American scientists...appear to have concealed this from [DARPA]...in order to evade any national security concerns about doing high-level biosecurity work in China.

And equally controversial is the proposal's intent to synthesize "spike proteins with furin cleavage sites" to improve transmissibility in humans. SARS-CoV-2 is the only known beta-coronavirus with a furin cleavage site. At minimum, maybe Daszak could have spoken up about the planned research involving this unique feature?
Daszak's deception (along with other scientists and public officials) adds to a growing and dangerous mistrust in science. Our government's lack of oversight until now has been shameful but "better late than never" I guess.

Took my 11 yr old lab, put under for a full dental work cleaning, like $2k (no teeth needed pulling). Go in for a checkup 3 months later, different vet saw him. Clearly didnt read his file. Said he has a lot of plaque build up and we should think about dental cleaning.
I feel crazy. I questioned the vet and they kind of dodged the question, saying plaque builds up if i dont brush my dogs teeths. But 3 months seems very fast…
Did i get scammed? Feels like they either did not do all his plaque originally or are trying ti scam me into another round of dental.

Posting on here for some advice on whether to start using retinol again… I have a long story with acne and getting perioral dermatitis recently - really need some advice
For context, I have struggled with acne my entire life, from the age of 11 I was on multiple treatments including creams and antibiotics to try and control my spotty and oily t-zone. At the age of 17 I had a terrible break out on my cheeks, it was really severe and I had never had acne like that before. After numerous things I ended going on the contraceptive pill and that completely cleared my skin. I was on the pill for about 5-6 years but it really affected my mental health, depression, anxiety and mood swings were horrible so I finally came off it before the age of 23.
When I came off the pill I became quite nervous that all my acne would come back, I began getting spots here and there, and after seeing the rave about tretinoin online I decided to give it a go. It definitely wasn’t the best decision from me, I got the retinol uglies, I went in with 0.5 which was definitely too strong too quick and I was losing hope after a few months. I think my skin was just TOO exfoliated, I couldn’t figure out a routine and I think I was using too many products.
I then switched to Dermatica and got prescribed Adapalene 0.2% / Clindamycin 1% / Niacinimide 4% This felt better but my skin was continually peeling, it looks glowy now that I look back on pictures but I was still getting spots. Nothing drastic but I was definitely searching for that glass skin look.
After 6 months they switched my prescription and removed the Clindamycin (due to resistance to that ingredient I think you can only take it for 6 months). This was before Christmas time in 2023, the weather became really extreme and my skin suffered. I thought it was just the weather and I would lather in moisturisers and continue to only use Dermatica every 3rd night but my skin would not stop peeling. I contacted Dermatica and told them my side effects and they said that my skin is just getting used to it. I began to get a dry patch near my mouth which slowly got worse, I thought this was because of the weather but I got a lot of redness around my mouth and looking online I felt like I had developed perioral dermatitis.
Long story short I did have perioral dermatitis. I stripped my skincare routine to be VERY minimal and began taking antibiotic, I was prescribed Lymecycline from my doctor for 3 months, I also started using Azelaic Acid after following Dr Sam Bunting advice online.
Now that I have finished my antibiotic, I am still continually getting spots, it almost feels a tad worse now that I’ve finished the antibiotic (Lymecycline is also prescribed for acne as well as POD). My skin feels really clogged and my forehead just has a lot of tiny spots, I keep getting breakouts and I just want to not have to deal with it all the time, it feels NEVER ending that I have acne for the rest of time at the moment.
Here is my current skincare routine: AM - Wash face with water - The Ordinary Caffeine Solution under my eyes - The Inkey List Azelaic Acid 10% - The Inkey List Vitamin C 15% (just started using this to brighten marks) - The Inkey List Niacinimide (for my oiliness) - The Inkey List Omega Water Cream (if my skin is feeling moisturised I don’t use this) - Paula’s Choice Clear SPF 30 Fluid
PM - Remove make up with The Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm - Wash face with Dr Sam Bunting Flawless Cleanser - Dr Sam Bunting Flawless Neutralising Gel - this has 2% salycilic acid, 5% azelaic acid, 0.5% bakuchiol, 5% squalene (started using this in the past week now that I have finished my antibiotic and I only put it on my spots, most nights in the week) - Sometimes I may use Paula’s Choice BHA or AHA (probably once a week and not at the same time as the gel above) - Cosrx Snail Mucin (if my skin is feeling dry or I have used an exfoliator) - The Inkey List Omega Water Cream OR Aveeno Oat Restorative Night Cream
Treatments: - I’ve got the Omnilux Red Light Therapy mask and I use it a few times a week (my skin feels very hydrated and plump from this) - I’ve been using a high frequency wand a few times a week on my spots
I’ve been contemplating using The Ordinary Retinal 0.2% maybe once or twice a week in the evenings, but I’m just really nervous and not entirely sure whether it’s worth it. My skin did look good on Dermatica (apart from the peeling) and definitely way less clogged than I feel now, so I feel really tempted especially hearing that retinal is really good.
Considering I’ve been using Azelaic Acid daily for 3 months now I feel like my skin is slightly less sensitive, but I’m VERY worried I will fall into a trap and over exfoliate if my spots still continue, I’m a stress picker and I just want them gone so if one appears I just need to do something to it. I’m also very scared of the retinol uglies, I’ve started a new job recently and I’m definitely worried it will crush my confidence on a daily, as already I get quite down about spots.
Does anyone have any advice if retinal is a good idea?

The results in the first quarter were exceptionally weak, underpinned by poor results across most suppliers. “It’s difficult to find a silver lining in the first quarter,” said Stefan Pongratz, Vice President and analyst at the Dell’Oro Group. “We’ve been monitoring the RAN market since the year 2000, and the contraction experienced in the first quarter marked the steepest decline in our entire history of covering this market. In addition to the known coverage related challenges that the market is dealing with when comps in the advanced 5G markets are becoming more challenging, there are now serious concerns about the timing of the capacity upgrades given current network utilization levels and data traffic growth rates,” continued Pongratz.

• Middle East and Africa are growing, Latin America is stable, and the remaining regions, including North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific declined sharply in 1Q 2024.
• Vendor rankings remain stable while vendor shares are shifting. In the first quarter, Huawei’s 4QT (four quarter trailing) revenue share improved relative to 2023 while Nokia lost some ground over the same period.
• The top 5 RAN suppliers based on worldwide revenues are Huawei, Ericsson, Nokia, ZTE, and Samsung.
• Growth projections have been revised slightly downward over the short term. Global RAN is now projected to decline 5 to 8 percent in 2024.

COMMENT: Nokia's Mobile Networks guides for 2024 net sales of -10% to -15% and a comparable operating margin of 1% to 4%. For Network Infrastructure the 2024 guidance for sales is +2% to +8% and for the margin 11.5% to 14.5%. Actually MN no longer is the largest business group, NI was larger in q1 with sales of €1,662M while MN had sales of €1,577M.
Thus MN is currently in deep trouble partly due to very adverse market conditions and in part because of AT&T's decision to replace Nokia in its network to the benefit of Ericsson. The bright spot is that Nokia's three other business groups are delivering and thus Nokia's midpoint guidance means Nokia's comparable EPS will grow this year to appr. €0.34 from last year's €0.29. Now Nokia needs to keep doing its maximum to keep up the sales growth momentum in non-operator enterprise so as to reach overall growth and a more attractive operating margin. Enterprise sales growth was 16% in 2023 whereas the q1 report said the following:
"The first quarter also saw weak demand from Enterprise but this is expected to improve in the second quarter as new projects start to ramp up. Enterprise net sales decreased 21% in constant currency in Q1 2024. This was in comparison to a very strong year-ago quarter, particularly with webscale customers, as net sales from these customers remain lumpy. Order intake was strong, particularly in Cloud and Network Services, supported by demand for private wireless solutions. Private wireless continued to show solid growth in the quarter and now has more than 730 customers."

Just got my evaluation back for task 2, happy to have gotten through this class without much issue. Overall spent about a week to get through this course, was helpful to take it right after D335 (Python) as I had a bunch of concepts still fresh on my mind.
I did not receive a welcome email for this course so I don’t know what the CIs might provide, but I didn’t even really bother with the course material very much. I went straight to the task instructions and just used the MSFT powershell docs and stackoverflow to put together a working solution. I did most of my work locally and just downloaded my code from GitHub on the lab environment to test it.
Overall nothing too crazy here, just make sure your solution hits everything on the rubric and you’ll be good.

I have always been interested in 3D modeling and 3D printing, so I taught myself how to use fusion 360 and blender thru resources available online, bought the A1 from Bambu Lab when it was made available, and I have been very happy with my learning journey as well as simple things I learn to design and print. And here I have something I wonder if I should worry about or even make changes. I have the printer in my bedroom, I spent most of the time working on my desk and I print next to me. I print PLA and TPU almost exclusively since the A1 can’t print anything that requires enclosure anyway. I recently learned about VOCs and now I am thinking did I make a mistake putting the printer in my bedroom (truth is I don’t have much space for a printer and putting it in another room is not exactly the option I have right now) also, enclosure with ventilation pipes aren’t viable solution either, I have researched on the topic but there are many conflicting reports and I am not exactly sure which way to go, should I stop printing in my room until I could move it elsewhere for the sake of my health? Any input will be greatly appreciated so thank you in advance.
