2024.05.21 12:53 acp-manufacturer Enhancing Safety with ACP Signage Features
The emergence of ACP (Aluminium Composite Panel) signage in India is a blend of conventional as well as modern ideas. In India, signage is becoming increasingly important when working on a project. People can more easily relate to the signs immediately. Retail designing involves the 4Ds: defining the brand's identity, designing the mood board aligning with the store type, deploying the brand language across mediums, and delivering consolidation between online and offline spaces through collaboration between the brand and design teams. It's a drawn-out process that comes from a number of things, including knowing the brand and its target market. submitted by acp-manufacturer to u/acp-manufacturer [link] [comments] In today's scenario, customers gravitate towards appealing signage that complements the architecture and interiors. While vinyl and flex remain common, retail designers increasingly incorporate Aluminium Composite Panels (ACP) for signage projects due to their longevity, appealing aesthetics, flexibility, availability, user-friendliness, and easy installation. However, some clients still hesitate to use acp sign board designs due to perceived lack of innovation in designs and the misconception of high costs. Fortunately, ACPs have become more affordable while offering innovative designs, finishes, and textures, making them an attractive option for creating visually striking and enduring retail signage. Advanced Safety and Security FeaturesAnti-Vandalism CoatingsPreserving interpretative signs against vandalism is a crucial part of its preservation. ACP signs with anti-vandalism coatings offer a strong barrier against graffiti and other types of defacement. The incredibly hard, non-porous finish that these coatings provide inhibits the solvents included in spray paints and permanent markers from penetrating. Superior anti-graffiti coating keeps out foreign objects and facilitates cleaning and maintenance, keeping the signage looking new and readable for longer.Tamper-Resistant FasteningsEnsuring the security of signage in public spaces requires more than just durable materials; it demands secure installation. ACP sign boards with tamper-resistant fastenings can help with a better installation process – especially when using the Male Female Rainscreen system for installation. There’s little chance of theft and unauthorized removal. These fastenings are designed to be difficult to manipulate without specialized tools, providing an additional layer of protection against tampering and ensuring the signage remains securely in place.Fire-Retardant MaterialsSafety standards and regulatory compliance are paramount when it comes to public and commercial signage. ACP sheet sign boards manufactured with fire-retardant materials significantly enhance safety by reducing the risk of fire-related incidents. These materials comply with required fire safety standards, providing peace of mind to business owners and ensuring the safety of the public. That was a stupid idea… But ever since I woke up I've been having a lot of stupid ideas… my brain feels like it's buried beneath a thick oppressive fog of white noise. Trying to think feels like sand paper is rubbing between my neurons, my thoughts and memories now lay shattered and splattered in a dried bloody spray back at that cemetery I was dug up from. I don't know who or what I am… The title of courier doesn't feel right… I feel like I'm someone or something else… If not just a ghost… A shell of who I once was… And my name… I'm not even sure if it's mine, it's just the first thing that popped into my head… Luca. Maybe I thought I'd find answers in the desert, but all I found was some over turned train car and a lone green plastic dinosaur. I crouch down and pick up the dinosaur curiously, examining it before setting it back down and turning to head back to Goodsprings, a sudden tingling down my spine stops me dead in my tracks followed by a overwhelming dizzy spell and a stabbing pain roaring through every nerve in my body, I fall forward, my body convulsing. §§§ The sand feels cold… Hollow winds howling… It rattles and whispers… Hounds baying in the hunt… I feel numb… Hues of heat painted into the sky… I lost their echos, their imprints… Hope waning, hunger waxing… I have no reflection… Had I ever a home…? ★★★ A voice rouses me. Are you okay? I snap my eyes open, staring ahead statically at the plastic green dinosaur, I glance around for the source of the voice. The voice speaks once more. Oh, can you… Hear me? The voice… It's coming from the plastic dinosaur. My eyes widen, I stare at the green therapod laying two feet from me in the dust, staring back at me. Slowly, I start to regain my senses and with it the cruel frigid cold of the twilight desert, I smelled blood. I narrow my eyes at the figure, the doubt over if I really did hear a voice settling in. The voice of the dinosaur interrupts my thoughts. You can hear me, right? Look, if you can, you should really get up, you shouldn't lie here. I stare flatly at the figure, my heart pounding, it continued. It's cold, it's dark and you're bleeding from your nose. You're going to attract something if you keep laying here like you're dead. I recover enough from my stupor to respond. "What are you?" I don't know, I haven't seen my reflection yet. What am I? "A- A green plastic dinosaur… But… What are you?" Well, I guess I'm a soul possessing a green plastic dinosaur. "Oh… L-Like a ghost?" Sort of... What's your name? I blink, a cold breeze blowing over the hills causing me to shiver and curl into myself, my muscles tingling painfully. "L-Luca…" Luca, you need to get up. It's not safe out here… My throat feels dry, my limbs numb. "I… I can't… My limbs… C-Can't move…" Luca, you have to try. I sigh, shivering and coughing dryly. "I-I'm… Cold…" I know, you should really get up. "I…I don't think I can…" Luca, you'll die if you don't get up. You have to get up or you'll freeze to death… I squeeze my eyes shut, a couple crickets chirped in the grass and a lone coyote howled into the night. I grit my teeth and push myself up with my arms, my muscles tensing painfully, my nerves searing with pain. I gasp sharply, nearly collapsing back into the dust, my body feeling heavy and fatigued, the urge to give in and fall into a deep sleep overwhelming. That's it's Luca! C'mon! That's it! Keep going! I manage to move myself into a sitting position and pause to rest, looking towards the dinosaur, panting and shivering. Scribbled above the figure is some graffiti, worn and faded though still legible: Mr. Cleems. I look back down towards the dinosaur. "Is that your name?" Huh? "The graffiti above you." What does it say? "Mr. Cleems. Is it your name?" The dinosaur is silent for a moment, as if considering something before replying. Yeah. There's a beat of silence before I resume my struggle. With some minor difficulty I stagger to my feet, my muscles and tendons throbbing and clenching, trembling violently, I glance at the dinosaur. "Mr. Cleems…" Yeah? I debate how to ask this for a few moments before resolving to simply rip the band-aid off. "Can I take you with me?" Sure, you look like you need a guardian angel. I smile and with a fatigued voice I cry. "Yippee." I reach over, picking up Mr. Cleems, looking at him with a newfound happiness, I turn to look towards the direction I came from, the faint glow of Goodsprings visible. ★★★ I nearly collapsed back into the dirt on the way back to Goodsprings, just managing to stagger through the door of the Prospector Saloon before my knees buckled. The saloon was empty, save for Trudy who paused in her cleaning of the bar to investigate the distinct noise of a body hitting the floor. She rounded the corner her eyes widening the moment they locked onto my quivering form. "Luca! My god, are you okay?" She said, rushing to my side. Through chattering teeth I speak. "F-Fine… I'm fine…" Trudy slung my arm around her neck and hoisted me up. "You're freezing! Did you walk out into the desert?" I nod as she walks me over to a table and sits me down into the booth. "What were you thinking?!" She sighs and walks to the bar. "Stay right there, I'll get you something warm to drink." "Otay." I pull Mr. Cleems out of my pocket, examining him. The sudden urge to put him in my mouth strikes me and before I can stop myself I'm biting down on his plastic head. The hell?! Luca! What are you doing?! Stop! Trudy placed a mug of coffee in front of me, noticing Mr. Cleems in my mouth her face softened further. "Are you hungry? Here, lemme get you something." Before I could protest she was already gone, I remove Mr. Cleems from my mouth and took a sip of the coffee, letting out a strangled cry as my tongue burns. "Careful, it's hot!" Trudy calls from somewhere within the bar. The hell did you put me in your mouth for? I shrug, resting my chin in my hand as I idly trace the stripes on Mr. Cleems, the soft murmuring of the jukebox in the next room over catching my attention when a familiar voice reaches my ears. I strain my ears to listen… "Little word has been heard from Nipton, leading to traders thinking the isolated town may be in trouble, in other news, Black Mountain radio…" Trudy returned with a plate of iguana on a stick. "Here, eat up." I rummage through my pockets for some caps, she stops me. "It's on the house." "But-" Trudy raises a hand, cutting me off. "It's the least I can do after you fought off the Powder Gangers with us." With that, she returned to tending the bar, I eat in relative silence, till it's broken when I speak up. "Hey Trudy, where can I find Nipton?" ★★★ [Track 2](https://soundcloud.com/repulsive1908/repulsive-forgotten) Oh… Gods… I stand frozen in place, my heart hammering against my chest as the smell of smoke and smoldering flesh and tires fills my lungs. I gag, stumbling back, squeezing Mr. Cleems close to my chest. A lone flag among a blaze of branches and broken bodies flares angrily in the wind, emblazoned with the image of a yellow bull, I shudder, feeling my stomach drop upon gazing at it, I look back upon the main road, forcing myself to overcome my fawning and move my feet. WITNESS WITNESS WITNESS I jolt, flinching violently, the loud booming voice causing my heart to jump into my throat, quickly realizing it came from my Pip-Boy. I stare at it, holding it away from my body in fear, still in a startled state of mind as I tentatively reach a hand over to examine it when movement from the corner of my eye catches my attention, I lift my head and lock eyes with a man wearing a fox pelt. My blood runs cold, a shiver crawling down my spine. I feel an intense pit of fear resurface within me, swimming within the very bottom of it's depths… WITNESS WITNESS WITNESS Rage. ★★★ [Track 3](https://soundcloud.com/elephantmusic-music/grave) The sun, blazing on as it set, bathed the sands in shades of rose and red as I left Nipton in a stupor of fear, shock and deep subtle rage, roiling beneath the surface like a mad serpent among reeds. The words of the fox hooded man echo in the back of my mind, his voice driving me in circles as I feel recollection tugging from beyond the shattered remnants of my mind, yet a deep part of me recoiled at the fruitless attempts to piece together a memory. I feel angry at myself for letting them walk away, though I know full well that trying to fight would have been another stupid, and fatal, idea. Cresting a hill I pause to survey my surroundings, spotting the sight of sore wounds and split skins, among the colours of dawn, the blood red crimson of the Legion… Several soldiers sat huddled around a fire. I feel my breath hasten, my heart leaping when I pick up on my presence going unperceived, I drop down into a crouch… Drawing a weapon… My heart hammering in tune with the hammer of my gun as I open fire. The shock on their faces is sweet, though it's quickly spoiled when their expressions change to fury, they raise their weapons and fire, I feel the bullets ripping into me, the blood pouring out, the pain screaming throughout my nervous system, pleading me to lay down my weapon and run, but I push it away and pursue this rage roiling within, deep down beneath layers and layers of deeply set fear and sadness, like a sea of echos who's origins are lost, the serpent below breaking free, hissing with a newfound venom. I feel death breathing down my neck, it's a familiar feeling, how she danced with me the night I lost everything. And I'll keep dancing, I'm not too good at it but I'll learn how to be better so I can be the best damn dancer for death. I'll waltz with broken bones, through burning buildings and into blossoming battlefields, bound to her like atoms in the center of a star. I stand among the carnage, looking at my now bent and stained machete and back at the corpses around me, the full weight of what I've done hits me like a truck, I feel a sickness in my stomach, though it's only brief as I remember the faction of monsters these people came from, I turn away, averting my eyes, a wave of exhaustion seeping into me, my clothes soaked with blood, my body sore and wounded, I stumble away from the gruesome scene to find a place to rest my weary body. §§§ [Track 4](https://soundcloud.com/imoonlight/sleeping-at-last-saturn-instrumental) Foxes, Dogs, Wolves and Coyotes. Fleeting is the Fox though he is the first, oh what future does he bring with his false face? Foxes, Dogs, Wolves and Coyotes. Dangerous is the dog, how they dig through the dust and drag you into the dark. diving, drowning, dancing… Foxes, Dogs, Wolves and Coyotes. Wailing and wise is the Wolf who learns, their will is strong but wary of wit from the west. Foxes, Dogs, Wolves and Coyotes. Coy you are, Coy You'll be, careful and calculating, come crimson and crows, clean and cold you'll be in clearing and cutting. |

2024.05.04 23:43 SlimeSpree OG Slimes Big Review (with lots of pics!)
Hi from the UK fellow slimers! I’ve been deep in the vibe testing out some great new slimes and would like to share my thoughts on OG slimes with you today! Their pots are generally 7 ounces at a cost of between $16-20. There are several price points/options when shipping to the UK, I got my slime in just a few days. submitted by SlimeSpree to Slime [link] [comments] Quite the \"stash\" The OG aesthetic is highly professional, punchy, bold and a lot of fun. It’s also somewhat of a step away from the usual pastel Kawaii theme (which I like but is pretty drastically over-represented in the slime world!) All of the labels were so well thought out and designed and invoke a retro urban fashion vibe (think skateboard deck design, graffiti, 90’s hip hop art and "Acid House" with bold and popping colours etc.) The care card, borax, and fun stickefree squishy cloud stress toy in the sealed, holographic 420 themed packets are such a lovely touch! I have to say I’m quite relieved all of this 420 stuff got through UK customs without any awkward hitches! Haha! How the hell would you even begin to explain what it was to a customs agent who knew nothing about slime 😅🤣 I love 420 themes, it’s a heartwarming reminder that there are cool “toys” made strictly for adults too and that we are never too old to play. The hilarious thing is several of my friend cast their eyes on my OG 420 slimes and got fully confused, thinking that surely they must be weed gummies. You’d think the danger surrounding the possibility of slime being accidentally ingested would pertain to kids but you'd probably want to keep an eye on slime-naive adults who like to partake around this stuff so they didn't get the wrong idea and have a taste 🤣
The texture took a while to grow on me, I was unsure at first (my first rodeo with sequins) but ended up really liking it. It was very slightly pokey by its nature but you can squeeze fairly hard without feeling much discomfort. It was also quite finger-pokeable, unlike some other crunch textures which would be too sharp or stub your fingers. The cascade of ASMR sounds was just fantastic! Very crackly, crunch and fizzy with far more pops than I was expecting as you can inflate this fairly aggressively without fear of hurting your hands on it. A little sticky as you inflate but easily taken down by a quick spritz of activator. I didn’t have any fall out or threats of it at all. This was a super fun, visually stimulating and amusing slime! I’m not sure I’d wish to buy it again with this scent but am very glad I experienced it and would go for a sequin texture again. Such a cool looking slime!
The aesthetic was very cute and well designed. A very impressive drizzle for an icee!

Such a stunning slime!
What fun!
The pink flip tone was so much more apparent in life!

The cloud dough was so lovely, fluffy, plush and holdable. I thought this was a particularly fantastically formulated cloud dough. It fluffed up and became so much more slime than there appeared to be in the diminutive pot. These may be small but they were mighty! 💪 https://preview.redd.it/3zak8ufw9hyc1.jpg?width=5823&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=799bc240616717aa3290d166012bc93adf668eef https://preview.redd.it/09xilxux9hyc1.jpg?width=6345&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9fda89fbf82220f2db8cad6e3b7099a884b0564d
This was a beautifully activated THICK glossy slime that was stretchy and gummy with no ripping. I really do like my T&Gs super thick and absolutely love OG’s take on this texture. It was full of big, unapologetic bubble pops and such an absolute pleasure to play with! https://preview.redd.it/2f10pk19ahyc1.jpg?width=5759&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=28366fab583247f2dc4e9b15f083c31d87ac599d
Everything else though, I WAS OBSESSED!!! 😆 I don’t think I’ve ever had so much fun with a slime, or with a charm that came with it for that matter. What I hadn’t expected was for the little accompanying Wellington boots to be squeezy and rubbery! I thought they’d be hard plastic, what an amazing touch! It was so much fun to walk the cheery little rubber boots across the exquisite, popping yellow slime leaving footprints, my inner child was squealing with delight! Haha! I absolutely adored the slime! It wasn’t quick as thick as Thickward but was super inflating which I love. Some of the OG T&Gs really do inflate very well and this one ended up needing up in a 12oz pot! It was super clicky and exploding with big bubble pops and sharp crackles! I will be chomping at the bit like a racehorse in the starting gate next time these thick, inflatable T&G textures are available from OG! 😆 My favorite charm/slime combo EVER! It was just so richly pigmented and pretty! ……. I’m extremely impressed with OG. Their presentation, pots, labels and aesthetic were absolutely bang on the money. The slimes were all really well made and activated and everything seemed very fresh despite having sat around in my home for a week or two waiting for me to get to them. I got a fair few slimes that were not to my usual preference and yet all of them impressed me and won me round. The only things that pull these guys down from a hard 10 for me are that the scents are not always the most amazing or accurate. They certainly aren’t bad but trend more towards average (when it comes to my personal tastes.) At least the scents are not overpowering and don’t taint your hands much and leave you stinking all day which I also really appreciate. The other problematic issue is their hectic restocks. The frantic buying frenzy that ensues as soon as new slimes drop meaning that the most popular products sell out in seconds is very stressful, which is ironic considering we play with slime to de-stress. I can only imagine this is due to issues beyond their control but I certainly hope they move to a larger warehouse ASAP. I have also heard that their slimes don’t have the best longevity so I will have to see how that goes and make an assessment on that front. As of now, OG are certain in my top three shops to buy from worldwide. Truly top quality slimes and themes and an altogether highly professional aesthetic! I will certainly be a repeat customer. 9.8/10 |

I slept like a log yesterday. Paying 10 more dollars was worth it. I had troubled dreams and woke up sad though. It's just plain bizarre how shochu seems to agree with my system but as soon as it's another alcohol I'm back to the usual awful effects. Will have to do a double blind test and see if it's a real phenomenon, maybe there's a common thread on what is making me feel ill, maybe I'm imagining things and the shochu just tastes good so I don't get in such a mood. Such a lame drug, alcohol. There's just more refined alterants out there with better effects and less harms. But you work with what you have, and shochu is cheap as chips. submitted by pohltergiest to RainbowRamenRide [link] [comments] We went to a beautiful breakfast place for morning coffee, as has been our tradition here. With nonstop movement, the extra caffeine is fine for us. This happened to be the flagship site for this coffee chain, waiters and waitresses were dressed in white striped outfits, and the decor was dark wood and fine glass, a very classic look, reminded me of old high end trains. The floor manager looked very proud of their restaurant. We got the Canadian plate, which was coffee and a ham and egg sandwich with a small salad. Promised to be hearty, but was just a normal sized sandwich with coffee so it hardly weighed us down. Bryce spent much time getting tickets for universal studios, which was difficult as they don't accept foreign credit cards, at least not directly. It requires a third party system, amd a system of handoffs for tickets to occur. All very complicated and all in Bryce's court this time. We have too much to think about day to day to be micromanaging each other. I do most of the logistics between cities, Bryce does most of them in the cities. It works. After lingering at a shrine taking some calls near the entrance, we set off for the cup noodle museum the next city over from Kobe. The sun was hot and the humidity is starting to be a factor. I'm glad we started in winter, as I needed time to condition up to where my heart rate can stay low during long or hard rides. I used to get a massive heartrate spike shortly after starting that now doesn't occur. As any marathon runner will tell you, it's about keeping that heart rate down and this is no different. Now that the heat and the sun are picking up, it'll be harder to stay cool and our heart rates will drift up to compensate. There's a ceiling on heart rate and once you tap that ceiling your body tends to recoil. At least mine does. East of Kobe turned out to be 30 km of red lights. I couldn't believe how terrible it was. And no inductors for the minor crossroads! Many times six lanes of traffic stopped for empty side roads. We had pbj on protein bread and smoothies as a mid morning meal that we're starting to get smarter about. We're feeling better now that we're eating more food and less junk. Had to get that out of our systems, it's why the trip is so long, need to let bad habits run their course so we can build better ones. Speaking of good habits, we stopped for pizza for lunch. We couldn't resist as we saw it was an "Italian style" family restaurant and we had watched a program featuring a rather miserable British YouTuber living in Japan just shitting on the pizza here, calling it "what a six year old would describe pizza as". While it was no delicacy, a personal pizza was $4 and was reasonably tasty. We were disappointed at how okay it was. It essentially tasted like a naan bread pizza with grocery store sauce, an okay mozzarella and a hundred teeny tiny sausage slices. The cheese did not feel good on the remaining bike ride, but that's on us. Eventually we reached the cup noodle museum, where once again, we strolled right in, no wait. There was an exhibit with all of the many inventions that the cup noodle company developed. The means to cook and preserve the noodles, the cup, the means to insert the noodles in the cup, the packaging system for the cup, the lid, the preservation of the ingredients, the whole lot was developed from scratch because one man was obsessed with ending world hunger and was certain that instant ramen was the key. While the owner was certainly a tycoon, they were initially spurred on to create the product to alleviate the suffering of starving people after WW2. Turned into a major soft power for Japan as the world loved cup noodles as much as Japan and instant ramen because the symbol of Japan 20th century. There was of course the "Factory" where we could colour a styrofoam cup, then turn a crank to place the trapezoidal noodles in the cup (upside down, per the patent). Staffers then added our desired ingredients, then it was sealed and put in a puffy bag. A delightful little time for $5. It was very hot outside to our feel as we're not yet acclimated to warm weather. 23 is toasty when you're still wearing wool pjs to bed in the tent. Now having to apply sunscreen many times, may want to cover up more like Japanese people do. My nose and pointer fingers are particularly browning. The route from the cup noodle factory to Osaka followed a river south, the open flat path allowing us speeds of 30km/h for about 45 minutes which was very nice. We could feel waves of humidity off the grass, making me feel a little ill in the sun. Definitely glad we're conditioned. We drank lots of water today! As we moved through the huge city, we came to our last bridge and saw the Umeda sky building with its huge connection overhead in the sky looming over the city like a Titan. I felt a sense of accomplishment arriving in Osaka, we had talked about it for ages and now finally had made it. The huge office buildings and endless endless city was a little much, but the traffic was easy to manage now that we've had a feel for Japanese drivers. No more skittishness now. Our apartment is huge, can comfortably sleep 6. Not sure why it's so cheap, maybe because it's last minute? There were no restrictions on bikes so we brought everything up in the little elevator and spread out in a big sigh as we started our first real recovery week after five of full on riding. We need the rest, both of us need a full rest for sure. After cleaning up, we went out looking for Vietnamese iced coffee. We were going out for the night so we could have the rare treat of evening coffees. We found it under the train tracks. Osaka has all kinds of stores and even homes under the overhead tracks, the rumble of the trains shook the building and made the lights wave. Can't imagine the apartments are nice, must inspire some dystopian thoughts in the denizens. The coffee was a dream, nothing is like a proper Vietnamese iced coffee what a thing of dreams. We got a few spring rolls to get the food ball going for the evening and enjoyed the tiny restaurant. They were playing French music which I've always found curious. Vietnam forcibly evicted the French colonialists with war, you'd think they'd love the culture less. Who knows! French bread is undeniably delicious though. Walking to Dotonbori, the core tourism area, everywhere we looked was colour and lights and smells and people. Previous cities were a warm-up, I am very pleasantly surprised how much more tolerant of the noises and lights I am now. We wandered wandered through shopping areas, restaurant alleys, clothes stores, sketchy love hotel lanes. Eventually after a lot of indecision of where to continue eating we crossed the canal towards a place that sold only chicken wings. The bright lights of the six storey billboards and bar buildings stretching off into the distance all crowded along a wide canal makes for a very impressive scene and we drank it up. We found the chicken wing joint and hungrily ate salt and pepper wings and something that was supposed to be Buffalo wings. They were not. We had inadvertantly walked to the neighborhood that was recommended to us, Amerikamura. Here we found lots of subculture stores, interesting people with tattoos and piercings, some guy doing a kickflip and everything looking a lot less prim and proper. We breathed another heavy sigh as we felt at home in a Japanese city for the first time. We visited a crusty store playing loud psytrance and selling various wookish things, where we asked about clubs playing cool music in the area. Bryce had identified at least a dozen in a six block radius, which is outstanding. We happened across a Japanese cyber goth store and just about barfed we were so excited. More than any other rave fashion, we love our blacks and neon colours and a boutique doing that was the fashion we were looking for. While most of it is the frilly lolita-punk style popular with Japanese girls (and looks a little ridiculous on my frame) we found some cool Japanese styled clothes in neon green. Bryce hit up a black jacket with many styles of textured fabrics and I stumbled on a white oversized sweater with a green hexagon pattern I could not put down. The price tag made we want to vomit, I have a very hard time justifying expensive clothes, especially ones I know I'll need to dry clean and have to baby. Bryce went ahead and bought his, but I was feeling too ill to decide. We went to a nearby videogame bar where the bartenders we're curious what we were so worked up about. They poured me a drink and I slammed it down, loudly announcing that I didn't come to Japan to save money and I hate almost all clothes so I should just buck up and buy the damn thing. We promised our return and ran off to buy the sweater before the store closed. Bryce got a custom made tie out of the deal since we bought so much! Fantastic. It looks great and I'll prize it for the next decade as I do not buy new clothes with any regularity, and expensive statement piece clothes almost never. Giddy from the rush of finding things we like after a month of bland stores with nothing interesting at all, we wandered the area, getting lost in the fascinating microcosm of people who clearly reject the Japanese norms. If we were to move to Japan we could feel happy here I think. The graffiti and stickers were fun to look at, the foreigners were funny to watch gaping, and we had a great time going in and out of completely unique stores selling clothes we've never seen before. The kind of small scale work that stands out in a world of mass produced flimsy garbage. We found an American styled burger for dinner, I the spicy diabolo burger and Bryce got the pineapple burger, which is his favourite. They were really really good, a proper beef burger with fantastic fries. Very worth it. As promised, we got more video game bar, now very full. We had fun giving out candies and stickers and got a shot of booze in return. Bartenders drinking with the customers is very common here we've learned. The owner of the bar proudly put our sticker on the wall, a practice we've seen a few times. Bryce's investment in a stack of stickers has paid off, people have found them extremely fun, we'll be doing this again. Eventually it was time to get back to the hotel to get ready. I styled my hair in two ponytails (very high, given I don't have much hair on one side. Pink makeup matched my socks (cause I don't have green of either), and our pink snd green shoes tie it together. Bryce new coat goes really well with his crop top and pink mullet, I'm jealous of his look honestly. His jacket does not suit my anatomy at all, however, it's all his. At dinner we discovered that the friends we made in Fukuoka were in Osaka for the Nora en pure show, which is a lovely coincidence! Nora en pure was my og EDM love some 11 years ago and I was stoked to see her. Walking to the club, we were worried of the stories we had heard of foreigners being turned away at clubs, problems getting searched, etc. etc. Our fears were unfounded, maybe that's for clubs that have more glitz than the ones we're trying to get into. We got there at opening and sailed in no problems. They didn't find my secret backpack full of cookies and snacks for the night, but they also didn't try at all. Guess there's no problems. It was a two level club, a main stage and a terrace stage, playing to a separate bar area and a smoking terrace. A proper rave with multiple areas to circulate to, we loved the space. We met a couple from Switzerland, who bought us snake sake, and then disappeared calling the crowd lame, we met a guy from Chile who thought Japan was awesome but the raves definitely needed more drugs and were a little dull just drinking all night. We met a guy from America doing the Pacific coast trail and privately asked Bryce my pronouns so we liked him. We met up our friends from Fukuoka with much excitement, a chance reunion, but expected as we are broadcasting our location to anyone who cares. Having some tacos, we met a Japanese girl who was acting a little odd, we couldn't tell if she was loaded or, well, loaded. She kept asking everyone what they were drinking and pushing 10,000 yen bills at a guy working the taco stand to go get drinks. We were happy to accept free drinks but she was just being weird about it. We were worried of somehow getting scammed and just slipped out of the circle of confused tourists recieving drinks, retreating to the safety of the crowd for the headliner. Nora en pure came on, and sadly it was way too late for us at this point. Nora has lovely music, but it's deep house music. This is music you fall asleep to or play in a lounge, not hype a crowd at well past the peak of the night. We dislike the dynamics of Japanese raves in terms of scheduling. We got crabby about a half hour in, we had had a big day of activities already and caffeine and alcohol are really not great at picking up fatigue. We left at 230 after giving our friends hugs and promises of a Canadian care package and walked out into the disaster that is after hours dotonbori. I shouldn't be surprised as it's a massive tourist party district, but there were tons of people staggering about, puke and garbage all over. Along with the trash piled up for night time collection. People were side eyeing us a lot, cool young people above idiot tourists, middle aged night workers who dislike flashy foreigners, and anyone who doesn't partake in subculture. Japanese people have a cute way of putting something near their face that they're ostensibly looking at like a phone but there really getting an eyeful of you. I'm desensitized to this, having had endured years of relearning clothes and mannerisms to blend in (and then purposefully unblending cause it was boring), but Bryce was very conscious of the eyes on us. The ones looking at us directly gave us the creeps as the only people trying to make eye contact at 3 are troublemakers or selling something you probably don't want. Our danger sense was probably a bit overactive for Japan, but served us fine, maintaining our walking pace and making casual turns to evaluate possible followers. There was no overt danger, but like my father says, nothing good is going on after 2. We talked about our culture of fashion back home, how important dressing up for raves is to us. It's a very powerful form of expression and culture to us and clearly doesn't make sense to other people. Bryce fielded some odd questions from a perplexed guy from northern Europe who noted that Bryce looked very cool, but wanted to know "why" we were doing this. Like why work so hard to stick out. Maybe it's a thing about the crowd just being there to enjoy the culture of the musician? In our culture, the crowd are artists as much as the musicians and contribute to our fantastic festivals back home. This is one area I can say that our standing is unmatched. We also got many questions that implied that people thought we must live in Osaka, which was entertaining. Clearly our look made an impression. Arrived, got cleaned up, got some sleep. A good day and a full day. No regrets here. |
