2024.05.14 06:38 sirmaddox1312 Gabriel Sincrain Super Weightlifting App Squat Program Review

I finished Gabriel's 10-week squat program on his app today. My back squat max before the program was 113 kg, and I hit 127 kg today. I weigh about 82 kg and have been weightlifting for 6 months. Overall, I liked the program and felt I was able to increase my PR by more than I had expected. The program was 10 weeks long, with 3 sessions a week, and each session took me around 2 hours to complete.
If you know Gabriel, then you know he loves volume. There were a lot of sets and reps, and there was a lot of waving in terms of load. I found the program to be challenging, and I even missed a couple of reps/sets along the way. But overall, it seemed pretty doable, and I never felt overwhelmed. I really liked the balance between all the exercises. Each session spent an equal amount of time on the classic lifts, back squats, and accessories. For every set and rep in the squats, there was an equal amount of work in accessories and other strength exercises like pulls and presses.
My favorite thing about the program was that it felt like it was building my whole body rather than just my quads. With the amount of work on hamstrings, lower back, and upper back, I always felt that the rest of my body was keeping up with my quads, and this focus on general strength kept me relatively injury-free. The biggest gain I noticed was not the 1RM strength but more the work capacity of my legs and the speed/rhythm of my squats. If I go back and watch my videos, I can see that the speed of my squats stayed relatively the same from 50% up to 90%+. I also felt that I had gotten much more explosive and started developing that signature Gabriel gunshot sound in my snatches and clean and jerks.
Regarding the Super Weightlifting app, I liked its build and functionality and felt all my needs were met. There is also a section in the app where you can post your lifting videos for form checks. I was able to get responses from Gabriel in less than 24 hours, even when he was traveling, and he would generally answer any follow-up questions on the same night. However, I feel you might have a different experience depending on your time zone.
All in all, I am happy with my progress, and I felt it was worth the money I paid. I will now be trying out his 5-day-a-week weightlifting program and probably do another squat cycle after that.

First Coord, Concrit Appreciated
Never would I ever imagine walking into the shop and walk out with a red dress, when I usually avoid wearing bright colours. But I was shocked when I tried it on and the dress just screamed “this feels right!”. The challenge with a red dress is to find versatile shoes and accessories that would go with red and also other colours.
The pair of shoes I’m wearing is the only pair that kind of works with the dress. Would introducing brown in my purse help balance out the colours? I do own another pair of low black heels but I don’t think it goes with the dress well. I have also considered getting a brown wig as to “adding brown” to the coord, but struggling with picking a hair style (since I have kept my hair short for a few years now).
In addition, I have considered making additional accessories to balance out the items such as 1) for the purse: bow keychain with red fabric&ruffles/crochet 2) for the shoes: ankle cuffs with some sort of lace and red ribbon to hide the line on my tights For 2), would I be over-accessorizing if I do add them or are the shoes ok as it is? I’m open to all kinds of suggestions for accessories.
And lastly, since I’m new, I have some more questions about lolita in general. Would this dress be considered as classic lolita? Is the dress shape poofy enough or would I need to add a second petticoat? And how high up the waist should I wear the petticoat?
That’s all for now and thank you for reading up to this point :)

2024.05.14 01:39 AwesomePossum101x Elden Ring Review: Perspective from a Non-Souls Player

I have not played any Souls or Soulslike games prior to Elden Ring. But I enjoyed doing hard things in games (e.g. playing at a higher difficulty level, or handicapping myself in some ways to create a challenge) and thought I'd give Elden Ring a go. I ended up spending over 70 hours on it and I enjoyed it very much, but it's a game that has its own idiosyncrasies.
I'll start with two things that I think Elden Ring did very well. The first, its combat system and character building. Most games introduce complexity into the combat system by introducing a myriad of skills/spells, and players are encouraged to explore synergy between them to create powerful builds. At the fundamental level, Elden Ring isn't any different here, but players will quickly notice there aren't that many skills/spells in the game, and you only can equip one skill (or a handful of spells) at one time. How Elden Ring rewards players is through mastery of their weapons, i.e. how much you understand about your weapon - its reach, its speed, its recovery (after a swing), how it combos, etc. And with over 30 different weapon types in the game (from swords to spears to fists to whips), there's much for a player to explore what weapon fits their style of play. Character building ultimately revolves around your weapon of choice, as it influences how you would distribute your attributes (strength vs. dexterity), what sorts of armours or accessories to wear, and what skills/spells to equip. It's intuitive but yet complex, producing a range of diverse builds, all with its own distinct flavours.
The second thing that Elden Ring did very well is the immersive atmosphere and visuals. The world of Elden Ring is introduced briefly in the beginning to set the stage, and what follows is an exploration of a mysterious realm shrouded in myth and legends. The developers have meticulously crafted a world that is as captivating as it is enigmatic, from the awe-inspiring landscapes that stretch out before you to the larger-than-life creatures that roam its vast expanses.
With that I want to now talk about the fundamental tenet that Elden Ring is built on: difficulty. Difficulty is something that permeates the game and is linked to how various aspects of the game are designed: general encounters, progression, storytelling, dungeon crawling and boss fights. I'll now explain each of these aspects in detail.
General encounters are hard in Elden Ring. This won't be any surprise to seasoned Souls players, but will likely catch new players by surprise how unforgiving it is. Non-boss enemies aren't really a threat in most games, but not in Elden Ring. Any enemy is a threat in this game (including rats), and if you're not careful, you will die. And probably a lot, particularly early on before you're familiar with the combat system. You can't change the difficulty in Elden Ring, and so you are expected to die to become better at the game. There are no ways out.
The game is very cryptic when it comes to providing guidance to help players progress. Unlike most games where there are map markers or some sort of hinting system to help players progress to the next event, all Elden Ring does is that it tells you an approximate direction (e.g. northwest) to move towards for the next objective. As such, you may often find yourself lost and don't know where to go or even what to do. This applies to both main story and side quests. On top of that, the conditions for completing a quest often involves doing a sequence of actions in a particular order without being given any hint. I find such a design mind boggling, and I simply don't see how you would be able to play the game blind without relying on online resources.
The world of Elden Ring is rich with lore and character narratives. But none of that is communicated to the players and as a consequence it is difficult to understand what the story of Elden Ring is about. That is, there is barely any storytelling, despite the world and its characters being embedded with stories (which you can read online). The first time I ran into a soldier encampment, I thought I could talk to them to learn a bit about the world, but all they want to do is to kill me. I quickly learn there's only one rule in the game: kill anything that moves. No one (aside from a handful of NPCs) has anything to tell me, and I am killing all manners of things simply because that is the only interaction I can have with them. When I killed the final bosses and completed the game, I don't even know who they were - I haven't heard of their names, nor do I know what roles they served in the game. I murdered them because they were simply there. Miyazaki, the creator of Elden Ring (and more generally the Soulsborne series), credited this style of storytelling to how he grew up reading English novels with limited understanding and he had to piece the story together with his imagination. While I think that's an interesting anecdote, I am not convinced that's a good justification for such style of storytelling.
Dungeon crawling is punishing in Elden Ring for a few reasons. For one, when you die, you have a chance to lose all the experience that you have not converted to levels. Healing at a save point also respawns all enemies, and that disincentivises exploration because you'll have to chop down all the enemies again to check for an earlier diverging path. Also, Elden Ring dungeons feature unintuitive design where the right path sometimes requires you to drop off a ledge or balcony; that caught me a few times and I had to rely on online resources for help. Over time, I find myself playing more conservatively in dungeons and trying to find the shortest path rather than checking every nook and corner to fully explore a dungeon. I did not enjoy dungeon crawling in Elden Ring, and I think the whole experience would have been much more positive with just one change: remove enemy respawn entirely.
Bosses take hours to beat. Players are expected to die repeatedly to learn how to fight a boss, and the learning curve involves: (1) understanding their moves and figuring out how to dodge them; and (2) finding the gaps between their attacks to land your offense. This is perhaps the one of the few difficult aspects in Elden Ring that I very much enjoyed. Bosses are well designed and come in all forms of creative maneuvers, and overcoming them ultimately prove to be a very satisfying experience. I spent 7 hours taking down Malenia, the undisputed hardest boss in Elden Ring (and arguably one of the hardest in the Souls universe), and I enjoyed every bit of it.
Hopefully it's clear now in what ways difficulty manifests in Elden Ring. But are they enjoyable? That is a very subjective question, as it depends on many factors - your personality, temperament, state of life, gaming experience, etc. Personally, I found most of them frustrating, at least initially, but later on a good part of this frustration is mitigated because I started using online resources such as wikis and guides. But should a game be designed in such a way where players have to use online guides to play it? Prior to Elden Ring I would say no, but here's another thought: maybe Elden Ring is designed to be played by a community (as opposed to one player) and that knowledge sharing among players is what the developer intended to overcome these challenges.
If someone were to ask me, should they play Elden Ring? I'd give this answer: (1) if you like Souls games, it's a no brainer; (2) if you haven't played any Souls games before but you enjoy a bit of challenge in games, maybe give it a go with an open mind; and (3) if you are casual player that mostly play standard difficulty in games, I'd say avoid it - you're likely to find just pure frustration.

2024.05.14 00:39 IcyNature96 Cosmetic Industry PR Careers

Hello! I’m not sure if this even in the right area to post as it is my first reddit post/question ever.
I just graduated from FIT with a BS in Cosmetics & Fragrance Marketing and it has been a real challenge to start my career. I know networking is the key to this.
I was fortunate enough to land a PR Assistant gig from a friend, but in the accessories/jewelry industry. It’s a lot of fun and I love learning about PR, but in the future I want to be in Beauty PMarketing. I’m here because I’m not sure what those job titles are or what I should be searching for.
Does anyone know what PR or communications looks like in the corporate beauty industry?
Many thanks in advance!

2024.05.13 22:51 adventurepaul E-commerce Industry News Recap 🔥 Week of May 13th, 2024

Hi - I'm Paul and I follow the e-commerce industry closely for my Shopifreaks E-commerce Newsletter. Each week I post a summary recap of the week's top stories, which I cover in depth with sources in the full edition. Let's dive in...
___
STAT OF THE WEEK: Kohl's sales have shrunk by $2.3B since 2019. During that same period of time, the company lost 1.3M customers who no longer shop with the retailer.
___
BigCommerce is exploring a sale after attracting takeover interest, according to sources who chose to remain anonymous due to the confidentiality of the information. The sources said that BigCommerce asked investment bank Qatalyst Partners to solicit interest from potential buyers that include private equity firms, but that the discussions are at an early stage and no deal is certain.
___
Squarespace announced that it will be going private in a $6.9B all-cash deal with private-equity firm Permira, who agreed to pay $44 per share (a roughly 30% premium). Although Squarespace never lost 90% of its share price like BigCommerce, it has experienced a tumultuous time on the market since its IPO in May 2021 — opening around $49.50 and at times trading in the low $20s. Shares rose nearly 13% to $43 in pre-market trading upon release of the news.
___
ByteDance filed a lawsuit in US federal court seeking to block the new law that would force the sale or ban of the app within the country. The lawsuit challenges the law on constitutional grounds, also citing commercial, technical, and legal hurdles, as well as opposition from Beijing. Legal experts say the legal battle will play out in the courts in coming months and likely will reach the Supreme Court.
___
OpenAI unveiled its newest model, GPT-4o, designed to turn ChatGPT into a digital personal assistant that can engage in real-time, spoken conversations and interact with users using text, screenshots, photos, documents, and charts. The new version of ChatGPT also has memory capabilities, which means it can learn from previous conversations. It will be available to both unpaid and premium customers alike. OpenAI also announced that it would be launching a desktop app with the GPT-4o capabilities, giving users another platform to interact with the technology outside of a web browser.
___
Amazon launched in South Africa last week, marking its first marketplace in sub-Saharan Africa, and bringing its total number of marketplaces worldwide to 22. To launch the new marketplace, Amazon is offering free delivery on first orders and on subsequent orders above R500 (about $27), access to 3,000 pick-up points, status updates via WhatsApp to track orders, 30 day refunds, and 24/7 customer support. The marketplace was supposed to launch in the country in 2023, but got delayed due to changes in priorities within Amazon.
___
In an unlikely partnership, Instacart is partnering with Uber Eats to expand into the restaurant delivery business. Instacart will add a new tab for restaurant delivery to its app in the coming weeks, the listings will be provided by Uber, and the food will be picked up and delivered by Uber Eats drivers. Customers will receive the same prices on both apps and Instacart will receive an affiliate commission on orders. It's a strange partnership though given that Instacart and Uber Eats actively compete on grocery delivery. Are they planning to merge? Uber says no.
___
Apple's advertisement for its latest iPad Pro sparked criticism for showing an animation of musical instruments, paint cans, cameras, record players, and other symbols of creativity being crushed by a giant machine, with the output being the new iPad Pro, which the company says is the thinnest Apple product ever. In this context, “crushing” was supposed to symbolize “consolidating” and “compacting” — with the visuals meant to showcase how the new iPad Pro puts the power of all these tools into the hands of creators in one thin device. However online commenters criticized the ad as insensitive and as symbolizing a “destruction of the human experience.” The ad hit the web on Tuesday, and by Thursday, Apple issued a mea culpa and apologized for the campaign.
___
Google is encouraging merchants to enable conversion annotations on their Google Shopping ads, which offer social proof that highlight a product's popularity. Conversion annotations like “best selling” or “3K shopped here recently” would provide visual cues about a product’s popularity or sales performance directly in the ad unit. Annotations like these are par for the course with e-commerce retailers including Amazon, Walmart, and Temu, which all employ similar tactics. They can provide valuable info for shoppers and also help with conversions. However they also open data privacy concerns, given that Google is not the actual retailer or marketplace selling the items, so a merchant would have to share this purchase history data from their e-commerce platform with Google — which technically most already do by giving access to GA4.
___
Shein is attempting to join the National Retail Federation as it pursues regulatory approval to go public in the US. The company believes that NRF membership would boost its chances of receiving SEC approval. However so far, Shein has been rejected numerous times. An anonymous source familiar with the matter said someone with heavy influence at the NRF is strongly against the Shein's admittance. However board members who spoke to CNBC said that Shein's membership application hadn't come up in meetings, and that they aren't involved in deciding which companies are granted access.
___
Amazon is leading the way with selling home goods, capturing 18.8% of consumer home furnishings spending, compared to Walmart's 7.3% market share. Notably, Amazon’s gains in the furniture category come in spite of the company’s decision to phase out two of its three furniture brands last year.
___
Stanley, which is projected to do $750M in sales this year, up from $73M in 2019, after seeing its water bottles become a status symbol thanks to TikTok, is now expanding into trendier accessories. The company is launching a line of bags called the All-Day Collection which include a mini cooler, backpack cooler, and Quencher Carry-All, designed for someone to sling their Stanley over their hip.
___
Jack Dorsey left the Bluesky board and deleted his account on the service he helped kickstart, claiming that Bluesky was “literally repeating all the mistakes” he made while running Twitter. Dorsey says he never intended Bluesky to be an independent company, but rather, an open source protocol that Twitter was supposed to be the first client of. He also confirmed that he is financially backing Nostr, another decentralized Twitter-like service popular among crypto enthusiasts and run by an anonymous founder.
___
Amazon is deploying 50 electric trucks in California, which it claims is the largest EV fleet in the country, as part of its mission to eliminate pollution from its global operations. The trucks will be integrated into first-mile operations, moving goods from container ships at the ports to fulfillment centers, as well as middle-mile operations, transporting packages from fulfillment centers to delivery centers.
___
Wix launched a new tool called AI Portfolio Creator, which allows a user to upload and organize large-scale image collections, select the type of portfolio they want, and then have the AI tool sort and generate a portfolio with clustered images, recommended titles and descriptions, and personalized layout options.
___
Amazon is now requiring all dietary supplements to be verified by a third-party testing, inspection, and certification organization — which is something that not even the FDA requires. Amazon is the largest supplement retailer in the US ahead of Walmart and Target, and its new requirements are expected to put more pressure on the industry, which is being scrutinized more than ever.
___
Alibaba is revamping its flagship retail website Taobao for the first time in seven years with a focus on providing a smoother search and buying process. The website overhaul comes ahead of the 618 sales event, China's second-largest annual shopping event. A few weeks ago I reported that Eddie Wu, the CEO of Alibaba Group, would now be directly overseeing its domestic e-commerce arm which includes Taobao and Tmall Group, and it sounds like he's hitting the ground running with his new responsibilities.
___
Amazon is hosting its first-ever Amazon Book Sale, a new shopping event starting on May 15th that offers up to 50% off print best sellers and up to 80% off Kindle Books. The six day shopping event will exclusively run in the US, and Prime-membership is not required to take advantage of the deals.
___
FTX reported that nearly all of its customers will receive the money back that they are owed, two years after the cryptocurrency exchange imploded. The company owes about $11.2B to its customers and estimates that it has between $14.5B and $16.3B to distribute to them. The caveat is that customers will receive the USD value of their holdings at the time of the exchange collapse, and not the actual crypto holdings themselves, which means that they'll miss out on all gains during the past two years during which BTC went from around $16k to now over $60k. Better than nothing though, that's for sure.
___
800,000 consumers in Europe and the US were duped into sharing card details and other sensitive personal data with a network of fake online designer shops operated from China, which comprised one of the largest scams of its kind with 76,000 fake websites created. The scammers used expired domains to host its fake shops in order to help avoid detection by websites or brand owners, and more than 1M orders were processed in the past three years alone.
___
Beyond Inc, which owns Bed Bath & Beyond, Overstock, and Zulily, reported that its Q1 net loss swelled to $72M from $10M a year ago, while its operating loss widened to $58M from $8M. The company's active customers grew to 6M, up 26% from nearly 5M a year ago, however, its average order value dropped to $173 from $220 a year earlier.
___
TikTok will begin automatically labeling AI generated content when it is uploaded from certain platforms like DALL.E 3, Adobe Firefly, Photoshop, and Microsoft Copilot. TikTok will also start attaching Content Credentials to content, which will remain on the media when downloaded, allowing other platforms to read the metadata.
___
eBay is testing an Add To Cart button in search results that opens a Quick View window, allowing buyers to skip the listing page. Technically the button should probably not be labeled “Add To Cart” since it doesn't perform that action, but rather, displays a quick view window with three buttons: Buy It Now, Add To Cart, View All Details. Sellers are worried that buyers will miss crucial details in the product description that may lead to increased returns and negative feedback.
___
Amazon is planning to launch its fleet of drones in Tolleson, Arizona, but the city's extreme temperature is hampering its efforts. Drones can't operate in temperatures exceeding 104 degrees Fahrenheit, a temperature that Tolleson crosses for a full three months of the year.
___
A US district judge dismissed X's lawsuit against Bright Data, a data-scraping company accused of improperly accessing X system and violating X terms and state laws when scraping and selling data. The judge basically said that if X owned the data, it could perhaps argue that it has exclusive rights to control it, but then X wouldn't be able to enjoy the safe harbor of Section 230, which allows the platform to avoid liability for third-party content. Can't have it both ways!
___
Nintendo is discontinuing its X integration for the switch on June 10th, which means users will no longer be able to post screenshots or videos to the platform from their device. The drop in support also affects games like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which had game-specific options to send out tweets. Microsoft Xbox dropped support for X in April 2023 and Sony Playstation dropped the service in October 2023 due to the increase in X's API access fees.
___
Amazon claimed that its recordable incident rate — a metric that comprises all injuries requiring “more than basic first-aid treatment” — at its US warehouses has improved by 24% since 2019. However the National Employment Law Project challenged Amazon's injury data in a report last week, claiming that Amazon's overall injury rate in 2023 was 71% higher than that of other employers in the sector at 6.5 cases per 100 workers.
___
Amazon Ads announced three new advertising formats for streaming TV including shoppable carousel ads, interactive pause ads, and interactive trivia ads. Amazon did not say when the new ad types would officially launch, but noted that it will formally present them at a presentation on May 14th.
___
Meta is rolling out an expanded set of generative AI ad tools that can create full image variations with text overlays, expand images to fit across different aspect ratios, and generate alternate versions of headlines and other ad text. The features will become available globally to advertisers by the end of the year.
___
Square introduced a tool called Square Kiosk to allow self-service ordering at fast food restaurants. The device is a combined software, hardware, and payment solution that allows customers to select exactly what they want with customization options, upgrades, and add-ons.
___
The European Parliament announced new measures to make packaging more sustainable and reduce packaging waste in the EU, including reduction targets of 15% by 2040 — which sounds far away but is only 16 years away?! As part of the new rules, the EU will set maximum empty space ratios for e-commerce transportation, ban certain single-use plastic packaging types, and beverage distributors and take-away food will have to offer consumers the option of bringing their own container.
___
Indians who pre-ordered Teslas in 2016 are giving up and seeking refunds of their deposits after Elon Musk canceled another visit to the country last month. Disillusioned Tesla enthusiasts in India say they will now buy a car from the company only if they see it in a showroom, or they'll buy a different electrical vehicle from a company that actually exists in the country.
___
Target is limiting its Pride Month collection to select stores this year instead of rolling out the merchandise nationwide like it typically has for the past decade, due to backlash the retailer experienced last year. Last May customers in certain stores knocked down LGBTQ+ merchandise displays, angrily approached store employees, and posted threatening videos on social media from inside the stores.
___
E-commerce spending from Jan 1 to April 30, 2024 rose 7% YoY to $331.6B, according to Adobe Analytics. One trend Adobe identified during the period is a shift of online spending to purchasing the cheapest goods across personal care, electronics, apparel, home & garden, furniture, and grocery.
___
Plus 7 seed rounds, IPOs, and acquisitions of interest, including Shopify's acquisition of Peel, a tool that integrates with a merchant's tech stack including Klaviyo and Recharge and helps them analyze their sales data to improve customer retention.

2024.05.13 21:03 ryc88 looking for new house members - girlypop2

our house is called girlypops2. there are currently 17 members, and we are looking for more to join. we all were originally in a house together, but the head of house went AWOL, and so we started a new one it's a fairly low key house with no drama (which to be honest, didn't even know it was thing!). we all definitely want to keep the group together as it's been really easy to work with one another. we have had some difficulty in getting our numbers up (which sometimes makes it difficult to have enough numbers of rallies).
we mainly do fancy rallies, with a fierce one on occasion depending on how the group feels in an attempt to get the hair accessory. ideally, you should be entering all non-flashback challenges. normally if you miss a non-flashback challenge, send a message to double check if you need to leave based on the score. and if the require score is too high, just leave, and come back when the challenge is over. you can definitely toggle off if you aren't available.

The boards themselves may have additional issues beyond the removed chips, I have no way to test or check them. Neither of these motherboards work. Both of them were giving different graphical issues on the screen, so I thought I'd be clever and try to swap some chips around, but found out as I was doing it that I have no experience with it and was in way over my head. Anyone else tried the Simgot EA1000? I think this is the best Simgot yet...... - my Simgot EA1000 Review
Pros ✅: - Well-balanced bright Harman tuning - Versatile tuning with 3 options - Exceptional technical performance for the price - Comfortable and ergonomic fit - Easy to drive
Cons ❌: - Upper registers might be too bright for sensitive ears on Gold and Black nozzles - Bass sounds slightly "bloomy" with Red nozzles - Stock eartips may lead to fit and seal issues Introduction:
Simgot has consistently strived to redefine the landscape of single dynamic and hybrid driver IEMs with remarkable success. Priced at $219.99, the Simgot EA1000 is a 1DD+1PR that delivers a more complete and precise high-quality sound, greatly enhancing your listening experience. Combining a 10mm full-range dynamic driver with a 6mm lightweight composite diaphragm, Simgot promises a more responsive full range of drivers and helps maintain stability and driveability.
Build Quality and Accessories:
the Simgot EA1000 features a robust 3D-printed resin body and CNC machining, ensuring longevity and ease of use. Accessories include six pairs of silicone eartips, three tuning nozzles with rings, a high-quality silver-plated OFC Litz cable, and a protective carrying case.
Tuning Nozzles and Versatility:
The Simgot EA1000 stands out with its three tuning nozzles, each offering a unique auditory experience, allowing users to tailor the sound to their preference:
  • SilveBlack Nozzle: Adheres to Simgot's Classic curve, providing the brightest tuning with the thinnest note weight. Ideal for trebleheads, though potentially harsh for those with treble sensitivity. This setting maximizes the IEM's technical capabilities.
  • SilveRed Nozzle: Follows the Harman 2019 Target curve, representing the most balanced and warmest sound among the options. This nozzle enhances the lower frequencies for a richer bass and midrange, coupled with smoother upper midrange. However, I find bass to sound bloomy and slightly hazy here.
  • Gold/Red Nozzle: Implements Simgot's Golden-2023 Target, subtly enhancing the upper mids to bring vocals forward without excess brightness. The midbass is slightly less pronounced compared to the SilveRed nozzle, offering a cleaner and tighter bass response. However, it might sound shouty to some with narrow-bore eartips like Spinfits or final E.
Included Eartips and Recommendations:
During my testing of the Simgot EA1000, I experimented with various eartip options to gauge their impact on sound quality and fit. Here are my findings:
  • Stock Eartips: The stock eartips provide a well-balanced sound signature, with punchy bass, clean mids, and crisp highs. However, achieving a consistent fit was challenging, requiring frequent readjustments to maintain a proper seal. Upsizing to the large size offered some improvement, but issues persisted. Including a broader range of eartip sizes could help address this fit challenge in future models.
  • Pentaconn Coreir Eartips: My recommended eartips for the EA500 LM also bring notable benefits to the EA1000, enhancing the richness in bass texture, upper mids, and treble. Not to mention, the improvements in fit is also immense. The "perceived" benefits can also be measured by my measuring rig. Refer above for the FR measurements comparison.
  • Epro Horn Eartips: These eartips lend a blanket of warmth over the sound while maintaining a smooth and relaxing presentation. They are ideal for listeners who prefer a more subdued sound profile. However, some may find the sound slightly hazy with these tips.
  • final E Eartips: These eartips add midbass warmth and punch while smoothing the treble. If you find the EA1000 still too bright for your taste, even with the silvered nozzle, the Final E eartips are worth trying. They effectively smooth the brightness without sacrificing the clarity and detail that make the EA1000 stand out. However, I find upper mids to sound a bit too forward with narrow bore tips on the ea1000.
Sound Impressions:
Tested with the SilveRed nozzle with Pentaconn Coreir & stock eartips.
The Simgot EA1000 distinguishes itself with a bright-Harman sound signature that balances energetic dynamics with an expansive spatial presentation.
The EA1000 delivers a balanced sub-bass that extends well without overwhelming the mix, providing just enough rumble to enhance the listening experience across various genres. The mid bass is textured and slightly warm, particularly with the Red nozzle, which adds a bit of richness to the sound without muddying (too much) of the acoustic performances.Midrange performance varies across the spectrum; while the lower mids appear somewhat lean, the higher midrange is energetic, though possibly at the expense of fuller-sounding male vocals. Female vocals, on the other hand, benefit from the EA1000's tuning, sounding natural and detailed. The treble is where the EA1000 shines, offering detailed and airy highs.
Technical Aspects:
The Simgot EA1000 excels in technical performance, offering a soundstage that is wide and tall, with above average depth. The EA1000's imaging is sharp, with macrodynamics that accurately place instruments across the soundstag.Detail retrieval is excellent too for the price, ensuring that nuances are well-presented without being overshadowed by the IEM's musicality. Instrument separation, layering, and microdynamics are standout features of the EA1000, rivaling and often surpassing much pricier options in the market, making it an exceptional choice for discerning audiophiles.
Drivability:
The EA1000 is easy to drive. It pairs well with anything from smartphones to higher-end sources without needing serious power, making it a hassle-free pick for any listener.
Selective Comparisons: 1. Simgot EA1000 vs Simgot EA500 LM -
The Simgot EA1000 represents a significant leap over the EA500 LM, particularly in terms of technical performance. Where the EA500 LM can occasionally feel compressed, the EA1000 delivers a marked improvement across all technical aspects. Its soundstage, while still intimate, is perceptibly broader, and its treble extends with a crisp and airy quality that breathes life into every track. The bass on the EA1000 not only goes deeper but is also more textured, offering an immersive listening experience.Another notable difference is in drivability. The EA500 LM requires a bit more power to unleash its full potential, whereas the EA1000 is easy to drive. It performs optimally even with minimal amplification, making it versatile across a range of listening devices.
  1. Simgot EA1000 vs final Audio a5000 -
Comparing the EA1000 to the final Audio a5000 reveals distinct sound signatures. The a5000 has a drier, leaner timbre with a V-shaped sound that emphasizes a speedier and more dynamic presentation. Its bass is warmer, stronger, and reaches deeper, while the treble is noticeably sparklier and snappier—though it can sometimes appear splashy to sensitive ears. The soundstage on the a5000 is broader and more expansive, with imaging that, while wide, lacks the sharpness found in the EA1000. Vocals do not feel as intimate or focused as with the EA1000, which excels in midrange clarity—making it superior for vocal-centric music. In terms of power requirements, the a5000 needs more power to get to the same volume, but similar to the EA1000, it does not require an amp to sound its best.
In Conclusion:
the Simgot EA1000 stands tall as a powerhouse in the sub $300usd IEM market. It's a great example of Simgot's pursuit of innovation and acoustic excellence. The remarkable technical prowess the EA1000 brings to the table makes it a great choice for audiophiles who demand nothing less than good technicalities.
Ratings:
Value rating: S 🌟🌟🌟 Tuning: A Technicalities: S Enjoyment rating: A
Overall Rating: S- (Objective Perspective) The Simgot EA1000 confidently asserts itself as a new benchmark for IEMs within the sub-$300 price range, yet it impressively comes in at only $219. It excels with a balanced tuning that resonates well across various genres and exhibits technical abilities that often surpass more expensive competitors. This IEM is a solid recommendation for audiophiles who desire to delve into a superior auditory experience without an extravagant investment.
Personal Rating: S- (Subjective Take) I find it hard NOT to recommend the ea1000. For an asking price around $219, it offers a well balanced tuning with the added benefit of tunable sound signatures and excellent technicalities. If you're a fan of the EA500 LM and looking for an upgrade, the EA1000 is a clear step up, offering a discernible upgrade in every aspect.
The Simgot EA1000 Is Not Just "Another IEM"; It Is a Clear Statement of Simgot's Prowess In The IEM World 🏆

2024.05.13 17:55 Bloom-ing-9502 How i revived my grandmother's vintage dress for a modern twist!

Hey Maves Fashionistas! ✨
I've got to share this heartwarming fashion journey I recently embarked on. It all started when I was rummaging through my grandmother's attic and stumbled upon a gorgeous, but slightly worn, vintage dress from the 60s. The fabric was still stunning, but it definitely needed a little TLC to bring it back to its former glory.
So, I took on the challenge! I spent weeks researching sustainable fashion techniques, because, you know, we're all about that eco-friendly life here! I found some amazing natural dyes and learned how to reinforce old seams without compromising the dress's original charm.
After a lot of love (and a few pricked fingers), the transformation was unbelievable! I paired the dress with some modern accessories, and voila – I had a unique, eco-conscious outfit that turned heads at my friend’s outdoor brunch. It was a beautiful blend of past and present, and I felt like I was wearing a piece of my family history.
Sharing the photos on my Instagram got so many people asking where they could get their hands on a similar look. I realized that there's a whole community out there that appreciates sustainable fashion and the stories behind the clothes we wear.
This experience inspired me to start a little project of my own. I created https://dashy.so, a platform where I curate high-quality style ideas weekly, showcasing how you can mix vintage pieces with contemporary fashion. It's not just about the clothes; it's about the stories, the sustainability, and the creativity behind them.
I'd love to hear if any of you have similar stories of reviving old clothes or integrating vintage finds into your modern wardrobe! Let's keep the conversation going and make fashion fun and sustainable for everyone. 🌿👗
Cheers to timeless style, Bloom-ing-9502

2024.05.13 17:33 Glum_House_365 Saving and loading JSON data via a static PlayerData class

Hey Folks!
For my (of course) Unity game, I wanted to move away from the useful but not really expandable PlayerPrefs, for a better saving system which uses JSON.
Im writing this post because im not really happy with the current implemenation, and also because I want to get some feedback.
Firstly, the PlayerData class is static, meaning it can be accessed from anywhere and dosent really exist in the "game" space. Is this a good way to implement this system?
It has simple functions which can save, load or delete the JSON data.
Inside it there are Serializable classes which are all refrenced by the "PlayerDataContainer" class, the all contain different variable types, lists and dictionarys.
Then theres the static "TemporaryData" class, which is a temporary storage between scenes.
Now the problem: I think the class implementation itself is alright, tho please also give me feedback there, but the actual loading / saving is terrible for performance / complexity in its current form.
How things are loaded from scripts (example):
SettingsData settingsData = PlayerData.LoadPlayerDataFromJson().settingsData; float musicVolume = settingsData.musicVolume;
How things are saved from scripts (example, all this loading is just so the other settings dont get changed):
PlayerDataContainer playerDataContainer = PlayerData.LoadPlayerDataFromJson(); playerDataContainer.achievementsData.completedAchievementList.Add(achievementSO.name); PlayerData.SavePlayerDataToJson(playerDataContainer);
Should all the scripts even save the json all the time, or should the PlayerData class do it on OnDestroy / OnApplicationPause?
Finally, heres the PlayerData class, im grateful for any feedback / suggestions, tho please dont be too harsh as this is my first real game involving this logic:
using System.Collections.Generic; using Newtonsoft.Json; using UnityEngine; public static class PlayerData { public static void SavePlayerDataToJson(PlayerDataContainer playerDataContainer) { string jsonData = JsonConvert.SerializeObject(playerDataContainer, Formatting.Indented); System.IO.File.WriteAllText(Application.persistentDataPath + "/PlayerData.json", jsonData); Debug.Log("PlayerData-JSON was saved"); } public static PlayerDataContainer LoadPlayerDataFromJson() { PlayerDataContainer playerDataContainer = new PlayerDataContainer(); if (System.IO.File.Exists(Application.persistentDataPath + "/PlayerData.json")) { string jsonData = System.IO.File.ReadAllText(Application.persistentDataPath + "/PlayerData.json"); playerDataContainer = JsonConvert.DeserializeObject(jsonData); Debug.Log("PlayerData-JSON was loaded"); } else { Debug.LogWarning("PlayerData-JSON couldnt be loaded, file not found"); } return playerDataContainer; } public static void DeletePlayerDataJSON() { if (System.IO.File.Exists(Application.persistentDataPath + "/PlayerData.json")) { System.IO.File.Delete(Application.persistentDataPath + "/PlayerData.json"); Debug.Log("PlayerData-JSON was deleted"); } else { Debug.LogWarning("PlayerData-JSON couldnt be deleted, file not found"); } } } public static class TemporaryData { public static int endlessModeDifficulty; } [System.Serializable] public class PlayerDataContainer { public SettingsData settingsData; public AppearanceData appearanceData; public ProgressData progressData; public AchievementsData achievementsData; public StatisticsData statisticsData; public PlayerDataContainer() { settingsData = new SettingsData(); appearanceData = new AppearanceData(); progressData = new ProgressData(); achievementsData = new AchievementsData(); statisticsData = new StatisticsData(); } } [System.Serializable] public class SettingsData { public float musicVolume; public float effectsVolume; public bool newAchievementBannerEnabled = true; public bool randomGameOverTextsEnabled = true; public int qualityLevel; public bool fpsCounterEnabled = true; public bool newDailyChallengeModeNotificationEnabled = true; public bool forgotDailyChallengeModeNotificationEnabled = true; public string username; public bool eastereggActivated; } [System.Serializable] public class AppearanceData { public int baseAppearanceIndex; public int hatAppearanceIndex; public int accessorieAppearanceIndex; } [System.Serializable] public class ProgressData { public int furthestBeatenLevel; public float endlessHighscoreEasy; public float endlessHighscoreMedium; public float endlessHighscoreHard; } [System.Serializable] public class AchievementsData { public List completedAchievementList; } [System.Serializable] public class StatisticsData { public Dictionary statisticsDictionary; }

2024.05.13 15:54 PointBlankPanda 23 enby (femme), AUS (international preferred), looking for happy mail gobfrend (21+ only)

Hi, I'm Coral! I'll cut to the chase here and break it down as well as I can.
What to expect (about me):
-crafty stuff, both raw materials and handmade -second-hand accessories, most likely Etsy items that weren't a good fit or that I've replaced since -found objects (natural and discarded -augury artefacts (cleansed, marked and explained) -alt stuff i.e. mixtapes/mixdisks, statement patches, pin buttons, zines etc. -nerd shit (rarely unless prompted, but if you express interest you might get something related to you own special interest. -ATCs (on request) -"challenge" packs (only after discussion/if comfortable) -polaroids, a classic! (all negotiable)
What to send: Ideally at least one or two small items and a card or letter with a paragraph or two each time, averaging a small-to-medium package but at our individual leisure. Honestly, as I always say, my passion is passion itself! obviously I'm here for the goblincore element but that's mostly a mater of finding my people more easily. feel free to pitch ideas, and I'll decide if we're a good match, and if you don't wish to repeat yourself you can use a copy/paste writeup or just link to a post here or on your own page, all good with me. I'm especially excited to trade things that can't be found locally, just be aware that some things may not get by customs for biosecurity purposes so be sure not to send anything live, and check publicly available restrictions if unsure.
What to know: I may not stay consistent, it may not be frequent, but if there's a problem I will try to communicate over the web. I may also occasionally send a series of back-to-back packages or something huge if inspiration strikes and I get carried away. There's no obligation to match value, size or frequency when this happens, it's not competitive but you should take it as a compliment! Also just a heads up that I have pervasive far-left views some may perceive as extremist at times, and this may come out occasionally. I strongly believe that politics cannot be avoided and we shouldn't attempt to bury important issues, but of course, the frequency and intensity of such discussions is up to personal comfort. We don't need it, but on the other hand, there are some views I will not tolerate so it's important to get that out of the way in advance.
Comment or send a chat (preferably not a message) and we'll do a Vibe Check™
