So I recently broke my ankle and I was ordered to come back to work the following day, due to my inability to walk I called my supervisor to let her know that I would not make it in. She said that it was fine, and that accidents happen and to let her know what she could do to help. Now mind you, I have struggled at my job since I’ve been here and my supervisor says that she is always there to help me because we have seven other people on our staff to accommodate someone if something goes wrong. She told me other times before that I just needed to reach out. So because I was anxious and unsure about how my ankle was going to act from day to day and how that might affect me coming in on time on, I asked her if it would be possible if I could test students on the days where students test in the afternoon, also if I could be on the first floor to work on things to avoid a long painful commute up and down the stairs. She also said that one of my co workers would be there to help me out if I needed them to pick me up. I didn’t need that, because I can still drive, but I texted her and said that I just needed someone to potentially help me out the car and make sure I didn’t fall or slip on my way to the building. She said that it would be fine and she would fine someone else to accommodate my needs and that I would need to communicate with others about my needs. Later on that day, I get a call from one of my co workers who is in charge of overseeing testing and she tells me that regardless of my ankle condition, I needed to come in to ensure that all of the counselors test equally. She told me in order to avoid any glitches with time, that I need to wake up early and get to the testing site. My supervisor then texted me back and gave me my schedule with early testing appointments. I said okay to the both of them and said that I would try to get there as soon as possible despite my ankle trouble. The first day, I came back everything was fine. I tested my student and the day went smoothly. The second day I was there, I called to have someone help me out the car, she huffed in my ear and said I’m coming. I told her the day before that I needed to get some paperwork to complete an assignment that my supervisor wanted us to do. She said she was going to look for it and never came down with it, no big deal, I continued to work on other things. I had to leave during the afternoon to go to my doctor’s appointment, I found out I had to wear a boot. As soon as I found that out, I texted my supervisor and head of testing to let them know. They didn’t say anything major. Before I left for doctor’s appointment, I left my things on the table that I was working on to continue over on the day that I came back. Yesterday, I got to work and I could hardly walk my ankle was so much in pain, I called the coworkers that was supposed to be helping me out the car, I got sent to voicemail. So I texted my supervisor to let her know that it was going to be a while before I came in. No response. So I hobbled in the building in pain, and I saw that my things were gone from Friday when I went to my doctor’s appointment. I asked where did my things go and my other co workers went to go look for them they eventually found it in the testing room, so I asked what was I supposed to do. The testing counselor told me to wait until the student was on break. I was visibly upset, but I waited until I could get my stuff. My supervisor then text me and other coworkers about a task that still needed to be done. I texted her back personally that I had to wait until testing was over to get my stuff. No response. I started working on my things and then the two of them came up to me on each side and said that they cancelled my test that was supposed to be happening and that I could go home. I said that I was not going home and that I was capable of getting my work done here and test as long as I would be able to sit and rest my leg. I also stated that I was really confused that you would want to send me home seeing that both of them said that I needed to come to school to test regardless of my ankle condition. The counselor then stated that I could take my workload home, I said I can’t do that because it’s way too heavy to carry back and forth to my apartment on a broken ankle. They then started asking me about pain medication and my boot. I was getting angry because they were asking me these stupid questions about non relevant stuff. I then said yes in a snarky way and my supervisor got upset and said I sense attitude from you and I don’t have time for this and walked away. After I had cooled down, I wanted to continue to talk about how I felt that I was being ignored and put on low priority when all I wanted to do was come into work and help out with the tests and not get behind on stuff just to turn around and waste my time. She said that she was sorry I felt that way and pretty much walked away. Fast forward, today she texted me and put me on another early test schedule and pretty much told me to get out of the main counseling area and go back upstairs to my own office… Now I’m really upset because she’s acting trifling. I know I was wrong for getting an attitude yesterday, but you have to admit she was totally not being aware of my needs and straight up wrong for going back on her words regarding me needing help! Was I wrong or overreacting? Please let me know because even my mom is saying that she is being a hypocrite. Any feedback is welcome.

So everytime I skate I get lowerback pain on the right side of my back, near the kidneys. Its the worst when Im doing 180s. Ive been skating for over 10 years. Im 21 now and never had any back issues. Any suggestions on why that might be and how to fix it. I tried taking week breaks from skating but the pain starts again when Im skating. Any suggestions on how to fix it?

I passed the PMP and scored T/T/AT.
So here was my testing experience:
I took my exam at a testing center so I wouldn’t have to worry about any interruptions from my neighbors 😂. The testing center was so quiet, you can literally hear someone’s thought lol. I flagged questions I was unsure about, but I made sure to answer them just in case. I also reviewed each question before closing the section. I had extra time to review because I was so nervous that I was going to run out of time. Even though I was exhausted at the final stretch, I made sure to review each answer because once you submit, there’s so going back.
The resources I used:
PMP Prep Course (35 PDU) - Andrew Ramdayal; I took the CAPM years ago so I didn’t need to take a course, but it was great refresher.
PMP application - Alvin the PMP; he provided a great template to use for the application. He also has a prep course if you’re interested but there are other resources as well.
PMP Test Prep - Andrew Ramdayal’s Prep Course AND his PMP Exam Prep Simplified; this actually helped me to understand the materials. The videos just scratched the surface. I am a reader so reading helped me cement the information.
David McLachan’s YT Videos; this helped me confirmed what I had read in AR’s prep book. Actually listening to how he would tackle questions helped me to understand my weak spots and learn more interactively because I became discouraged and low key bored lol.
And, though it was a pain, PMI Study Hall (plus) was the most annoyingly effective tool. It was difficult at first but like many others had suggested, I kept on going and felt more confident over time. I completed 4/5 mock exams scoring around 70-76 but I read that you can score lower and still pass.
Now if you made it to the end of this, thanks because this is a long post lol! But, my main takeaways were:

• create a realistic study plan based on your circumstance. I work two jobs and didn’t want to put this back burner which would have happened if I took this exam in August for example.
  
• don’t be enticed to pay for more than 2-3 test prep services; it’s not worth it. Only invest in tools that are within your budget and actually provide value. YouTube is free and AR’s book was $50 which was worth it. SH was $79 which was all worth it imo.
  
• if you are really fearful of taking the PMP, consider the CAPM. I did this three years ago. I didn’t have enough experience and felt overwhelmed by the PMP process. The entry barrier was lower and I studied and passed AT.

Sick with lyme for 10 years. I started treatment 5 months ago but stopped around 4 month mark because of frequent herxes (I know, I shouldn’t have), felt perfect like I was back to being healthy for around 3 weeks and then It hit me. My typical herx symptoms- nausea and vertigo. Went back on protocol but started very small with 5 drops of cryptoleptis.
After around 3 days I got a fever of 37.8 (100 F), intense tmj pain and headache, chills, allodynia, neck pain, fatigue, shortness of breath, stomachache, muscle pain, lower back pain, nausea.
it’s the second day I feel this way and I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do. Is this bacteria hitting me hard because I stopped treatment? Is this a herx? I don’t know whether I should keep on killing the bacteria with cryptoleptis or just do detoxing? I feel the worst I’ve ever had, like ER bad. Painkillers barely do anything

For a little bit more context; this sensation has been happening for about 4 days at this point.
Male. Age: 30, weight 145. Vegan and moderately active with good blood pressure and no prior history of injury or illness (but I work a desk job)
Onset happened after I fell asleep on the couch with my legs criss-crossed (monk style) for several hours. Upon waking up my saddle area was very sore and I had pins and needles. Went away initially after walking around and stretching.
Day later and up until today, every time I sit down whether it’s on the couch or my ergonomic office chair I get a strange skin-surface prickling feeling on the inside of my left thigh near the groin and down to mid-thigh.
The sensation goes away immediately if I stand up or lay down in a supine position. I have no weakness in the leg as far as I can tell and no changes to my gait.
No pain either, just a weird tingling that almost reminds me of the feeling of getting your leg hair compressed by a weird fabric or when wearing skinny jeans. And again ONLY when sitting.
The Internet keeps recommending me neuralgia parasthetica but it is very specifically not that. It only occurs on the inside and back of my thigh not the top or outside.
Looking for any advice and possibly a recommendation for a certain specialist I should see and if whether or not it’s urgent enough to go to ER.

The feeling of fur and muscle against his own soft, heated skin was to be for. As his hands were all over the animal's body, he felt the animal's response, animalistic and primal. In the shadows of the basement, the exploration of the mind's darkest desires took hold. Drake, his movements sinuous and controlled, was lost in the experience. They engaged in a dance together, a tangle of limbs and paws, each move marked by an intense, burning desire. The animal growls, the heavy pants of his mighty companion, all mixed into a symphony of pain and pleasure. Each noise, each touch, was another note in the song of their bond, reminiscent of a melody off Aubrey's latest LP . It was a searing, instinctual explosion of motion, the kind that rips apart thought from inside. Aubrey's movements grew more frantic, more precise, as he searched for that integral point of connection. His dog, his faithful ally, matched him move for move. They existed in a space beyond morality, where the rules of society didn't apply. In their world, they were the masters, the creators of their own good reality. A place for all of the dogs to be dogs. It was the apotheosis of desire, a ritual to liberate their innermost basic, primal selves. They were alone, yet not, as Drake could finally consider one his "dog".

I’ve been trying to wear my natural hair more often and I’ve been watching tutorials on different styles + how to take care of natural hair. The issue isn’t learning how to do something with my hair but rather I physically cannot do anything to my hair without it causing me a lot of pain. I can’t have my hands up for too long and my wrists start to go limp on me.
I’ve tried to look further into it, hoping I can find people with similar issues as me on YouTube but I can’t find anything. I would have no problem paying someone to do my hair but in my area people want to charge an arm and a leg despite not having any type of professional licensing.
Also, I’m having issues with finding the right hair products for my hair. I’ve pretty much tried everything under the sun (no type of gel slicks down my hair, most products flake up in my hair, a lot of products dry out my hair or make my hair feel rough)

I have 4a/4b hair texture + my hair is really coarse in the back of my head.
My hair is really thick
I’ve mainly used products from the Mielle line but i only use the exfoliating shampoo and hydrating conditioner because any other products makes my hair dry out.
Any advice + recommendations will help

Every year when I see the Westminster Dog Show is happening I think about the time I went and checked it out and had a pretty amusing experience.
Before that day the closest I had ever been to a dog show was the 4H barn at my county fair, but by the time I left several hours later I had been entrusted with the supervision of a giant Leonberger, who I casually passed off as my own to the unwitting public.
About 12 years ago I was living in NYC, in Hell's Kitchen, and one morning went for a run that took me down along the Hudson River where I happened to see some signage announcing that the Westminster KC Dog Show was taking place on one of the piers there a few blocks from my apartment. I thought that sounded like an interesting thing to check out, being a dog lover who had never been to a dog show, and not having anything else on the agenda that day. So after my run I checked out the particulars online, failed to round up anyone who wanted to join me, and headed back down to the venue to check it out.
I walked in with no particular expectations. I had caught a few snippets of the best in show rounds over the years, but the only moment I can think of that ever really stuck with me was year Josh the Newfoundland won, and thinking he was the the best dog I'd ever seen. I had, however, seen the documentary 'Best in Show' so I had a pretty good handle on what dog show people were like.
This many years later I can't tell you everything I saw that day. I know I was amazed at the Dobermans, and hugely let down by the Golden Retrievers. My childhood had been greatly informed by two wonderful Goldens who were big, shaggy, had a gregariousness somewhere between a local politician and a door-to-door salesman, and a perpetual residual aroma of low tide. Show Goldens it turns out are way, way, way too pretty.
What I was most surprised by was the fact that, in addition to the formal showing and judging and all, you could also see all the off-duty dogs up close in another area. A 'benched' show I believe they called it. They basically had a warehouse of amazing dogs you could peruse, mostly at arm's length, at your leisure. Certainly lots of dogs were sleeping in crates, with owners engrossed in their books with obvious 'don't pester me' vibes, but lots of people were very willing to chat about dogs who were reassuringly eager to have their ears scratched by total strangers.
I'm pretty sure I gave every dog there at least a cursory once-over, but I just kept coming back to this one Leonberger, whose name, sadly, I do not recall. I had never heard of a Leonberger before that day, and if you haven't either you should google it. He, despite having been eliminated earlier in the breed stage, was an incredibly handsome, friendly, curious, patient, charming animal. His owner was a woman, maybe 60 years old, possibly from upstate NY, and she was equally tolerant of me asking her dozens of questions I know she had answered hundreds of times before.
I probably spent a good 20 minutes with her and that dog. I asked all the obvious stuff about him, and Leonbergers, and then about dog shows, and Westminster, etc, etc. I ended up sitting on the floor with 150+ lbs of shaggy dog parked in my lap while we chatted. Eventually she asked me if I was going to be there for a while longer, I pointed out that at that point it wasn't really up to me but I had nowhere I needed to be, so she asked if I would mind watching her dog while she made the rounds to visit some friends for a bit. Of course I did what anyone would do when asked by a complete stranger if you will look after their prized show dog, and said sure.
So there I was for probably the next half hour, sitting with this amazing dog I had only just met while scores of people wandered up and asked me all the same sorts of questions I had just been asking her. At least a good 90% of them left none the wiser that I had no connection to this dog, and literally everything I knew about him, the breed, the show, and indeed this whole slightly strange world I had learned since lunch that day. The other 10% left probably pretty confused when I answered their simple question with the admission that I had no idea because this wasn't actually my dog and I didn't in fact even know the owner. It was honestly kind of a surreal experience.
Anyway, before long she came back, said she was ready to pack it in for the day, and asked if I'd help her get all her stuff to her car. So I found a cart, loaded it with her folding table, camp chair, giant kennel, bed, food, toys, etc and got it all into her minivan, said goodbye to the epic fuzzball, and she asked if I was going to the finals at Madison Square Garden the next day. I told her I hadn't planned on it, and she asked if I'd like her owner's tickets, since she was going home and wasn't going to use them. I of course said yes, so I got to go to that for free the next day. After that show I happened to stumble into what would become my go-to dive bar, but that's another (several) story(s)...
It's a funny world sometimes.

Recently bought a new house and need to fence in a 180' straight runaway in our backyard to connect to our neighbor's fence to keep our dogs in the yard. Have spent the last two months doing yard work to get our property corners uncovered from brush to make this possible.
In the front yard we can meet our neighbors' fences with minimal work and distance to cover (70' total.) So we'll be doing privacy fencing there. Our neighborhood is a busy dog walking area. I had thought I'd try to tackle that straight 180' myself. Wife enjoys the look of a privacy fence. I do too. Thing is though, it's an unleveled yard and there are quite a bit of rocks buried that I've found.

Guy has a great reputation. Contractors were quoting from $5,800 - $7,200 for wooden privacy fencing. Then $3,000 - $5,000 for chainlink depending on material and height.
It would cost me ~$2,500 in materials to DIY a privacy fence for that stretch. Total plus the front 70' would be a little north of $3,000 plus a lot of sweat equity and no solid time table on completion date.
Is it worthwhile to pay an extra ~$1,000 to have the rear 180' ft. done by a pro who can assure the fence will be leveled and secure. Even though it would be chainlink? It would free up a lot of time to get going on other projects and enjoy the summer.
Sidebar: If we go self-install privacy fence. 180' is far too long for spike anchors, right? It would make no sense to use those vs. concrete with that distance. Wind isn't much of a factor thanks to the building next door. But the distance is really long and we get hammered by snow in the winter. Ive had a habit over the years of engaging with media that infuriates me bc I overthink how to react in those situations bc I don’t understand how that in front of me can be a human being with a brain who cares about others and if I showed distress or anger I’d be judged and harassed for it again, despite them being harassers and controllers I nthe first place, and I am afraid of forgetting about it and walking into such situation and being unable to control it. For example the “whatever” podcast the narcissist men were saying in an imposing way how a woman only thinks for herslf bc she wanted to be aborted bc her mother didn’t have neough money to raise her. Obviously u need money to raise someone properly for various reasons, and if he himself odenst understand that a lot of ppl like that are controlling demanding and imposing, while bitter about the sacrifices their toxic environmetns forced them to make (or they made out of their own inferiority hopelessness and lack of faith) or weere actually spoiled, but bc of that they imposed themselves on other people bc I know such ppl and how they grow up and how they treat other children, and are “thankful for being alive”, but obviously don’t have enough empathy for someone who is emotionally intelligent and has struggled to not be exactly like them, bnc those ppl also harass and abuse minorities and vulnerable groups and I have storie about that dotn wanna get into, and they pretend they don’t know what im saying when I do. I’m a 22 year old female he’s a 48 year old male. I’m a basic and he’s a paramedic. We’ve both been in the game for about 3 years. He’s a horrific driver (tried to fucking kill us), likes to diagnose patients with zero imagining, has no capacity recognize that he might be wrong, and is disrespectful as hell as to anyone and everyone.
When we met, he explained to me that he was working on being less of a perfectionist and less nitpicky to his partners. He told me that he had a lot of issues with partners at a nearby company and eventually left for whatever reason. I took into account that he is a perfectionist, but I didn’t fully grasp the extent of his “perfectionism.” I’m a super open and accepting person. I can work with just about anyone. This guy is insane. He has two DUIs, an open container charge, and a felony. He also has a legal guardian. The reason for his conservatorship isn’t pubic but I’m going to assume it has something to do with the fact that he’s fucking crazy. His ex wife has a restraining order against him.
He’s PHYSICALLY abusive. I asked him (kindly) to stop pushing the gurney into me. He kept running into me with it and it was impacting our ability to cohesively operate the gurney. I was more than willing to work on resolving the issue, but I was met with hostility and aggression. He then intentionally pushed it into me MORE and pushed me into the pole to type the code in outside of the hospital (with both of the patient’s bare feet pressed against my arms and my butt pressed against the gurney). I had already requested if we could switch sides and he states “I guess you’re not even capable of holding a gurney” in a condescending tone. He did not let me switch sides. Another time, instead of asking me to move over or saying “excuse me” while I was in his way, he threw an elbow into me. This was the point where I began to see that he was frustrated with me. The reason he was frustrated is because he asked me to put the patient on the monitor and fire told me to wait until we got her downstairs (she was on fire’s monitor at the time). I listened to fire’s direction since he had exited the room to retrieve something from the truck. I thought that he would understand. He was unable to see that I took direction from the other paramedics on scene and he viewed this as disobedience/disrespect.
His “perfectionism” seems to be rooted within the inability to recognize an alternative perspective. For example, he tells me that he places IVs into the external jugular vein “all the time.” An RN at the hospital tries to call his bluff and he DOUBLES DOWN on his claim. The RN explains how this is incredibly risky and should only be done in dire situations. He argues that it’s not risky and that people even request them. The RN explains to me that he was a paramedic for several years before becoming a nurse, and that my partner should NOT be doing EJs as often as he says he is. He continues to argue and the nurse challenges him on his IV skills. The nurse brings out an ultrasound and asks him to use it to get an IV on a tough stick. He agrees and tries to use the ultrasound machine to get an IV on a random person after we had already been status checked (when we’ve been at the hospital for 30+ minutes and dispatch wants us to go available). He was ultimately unsuccessful.
He thinks that I cannot help lift patients. We had a call where a 255lb woman fell and couldn’t get up. I got into the typical front lifting position, he got behind her, and then he told me to step aside because he’ll be the only one lifting anyway. Another time we were at the hospital doing a sheet transfer with an average weighted male. He got on one side, I got on the other, and he said “I can’t do this by myself, I’m gonna need some actual help.” He did this another time on a call when we were going to move a patient to the gurney. He asked a fireman to grab the left leg, the fireman was on the other side of the room and I was right there, so I took the initiative to grab the leg. He was really irritated about it. Nobody else was. It was an easy lift.
Horrific and dangerous driving: He opposed traffic at a high speed on a one lane airport ramp and narrowly avoided being hit. He told me to go to airport arrivals (after I objected!!). I let him know that the clearance was too low and I no longer feel comfortable navigating the situation. He proceeded to oppose traffic at 30-40mph down the worst possible path. It was a one-way ramp with a very narrow lane along a curve with zero visibility and zero space to pull over. Another vehicle began driving in reverse and the car behind that one had to swerve to avoid rear ending them. I yelled at him to turn around. He yelled back and said “there’s no room.” I told him to “make a 12 point turn if you need to.” He insisted on NOT using sirens to do this and I turned them on anyway. Not a single car on that ramp would be able to see that we were traveling head-on towards them at a high rate of speed due to the curve, but they’d be able to hear us with sirens. He complied and made a multiple-point turn (he fully backed into the curb while doing so), then drove into oversized parking. He proceeded to tell me (at the top of his lungs) to “shut the fuck up,” and yelled “I’m so done with you.” I explained to him that it was reasonable for me to be scared when he put us in a very dangerous situation. He screamed at me some more, we went into the call, got cancelled, then he called the supervisor. I went into the back of the ambulance for a minute to process what just happened, my partner was nowhere to be found, so I got in the driver’s seat and relayed cancel 851 by fire over the radio. He ripped open my door and said “get out. I’m driving.”
He told me I’m “disgusting” when I asked what I did wrong. He told me I was disgusting the day prior as well. I actually recorded the second one (I was recording because I was TERRIFIED and he was angry)
Became wildly offended when I let him know that he left a IM syringe+needle on the back of the gurney and that it fell out on the floor at the hospital. The nurse noticed it and became concerned. I didn’t say this with any sort of intention of offending him, but it did indeed offend him. Not only did he recap the used needle, he threw it on the back of the gurney and forgot about it.
He likes to sit in the EMS room and write his report while getting status checked multiple times as well. A supervisor even called him while we were in the EMS room and he lied to them by saying “we’re just now getting the patient off the gurney, we’ll go available soon.” We had unloaded the patient long before that and were completely ready to go available several minutes prior. This was the first time we worked together. On the 3rd shift we had together, I went into the EMS room and asked him if he knows that we have 30 minutes to go available (we had gotten status checked). I figured that he might just not be aware of the rule since he is still new to the company, but he took great offense to my question and stormed off. I thought that he was storming off to go available, but no, he was storming off to sit in the back of the ambulance and attempting to transmit his vitals. The service is poor at this particular, so vital transmission is slow IF it actually goes through. He somehow blames this on me, even though I’ve explained to him that they’ll transmit in an area with better reception. Obviously I still hit the ‘retry’ button several times to make him happy.
He became frustrated on our first shift when I preferred that we post within 1 mile of our post. He wanted to get food and I explained to him that we have to post within 1 mile of our assigned post. He called me a goody-two-shoes and I explained to him that I don’t want to get in trouble for posting more than a mile away.
He told me that he has been “warned” that I’ve been written up multiple times for behavioral issues as a means to justify him telling me to “shut the fuck up” about him opposing traffic in a very dangerous situation. I have never ONCE been written up for a behavioral issue. I asked if he was mistaking me for someone else or if he had received misinformation, but he continued to stonewall me. All forms of communication where he was not screaming at me, he was stonewalling me.
He never had my back. He waited in the truck while I was in a woman’s second floor apartment ama’ing her by myself. I was up there for a while because she was very talkative, and he never once came back up to check on me. On a different call, an ETOH male patient would not stop hitting on me. He saw that I was very uncomfortable and I motioned to him for help. He walked away without saying a word. This was a very unique experience, as just about every other provider that I’ve worked with had my back (male or female) when situations like this arose.
He accused me of flirting with the fire department instead of paying attention on calls. I don’t even know how to flirt. I just thought it was common courtesy to be friendly & helpful with the people you run calls with. I read the patient’s medications to fire when they asked if I had them which upset my partner as well.
Each time I tried to speak he intentionally raised his voice to talk over me and cut me off. I was not allowed to speak to patients whatsoever. I was to be seen not heard.
A fire crew complained to me about him on a call saying that he wouldn’t even let them finish the assessment they started. I do agree with them fully. Every time they tried to speak he just kept talking very loudly over the top of them.
Issues with a respiratory distress call for a 30/40 year old female: He got upset when he asked me to grab him an end tidal and I handed him a booger. Apparently he wanted the end tidal that connects to CPAP but did not verbalize this. On that same call, he asked fire to give the pt albuterol through the CPAP. The fireman asked for clarification on where the albuterol is supposed to go and he ignored it. The fireman dumped it into straight into the mask instead of the nebulizer and the patient started screaming that they swallowed all of it. He then stated that her lungs were completely full of fluid (to me, fire, and the hospital staff) and had me drive code 3 to the hospital. We got to the hospital and he starts shouting “where’s the bed, where are we taking her?!?” in a frantic tone. He does not wait for a response before we take her into a random room (that they did not agree to) and get her on the bed. Rapid imaging was done on the pt and the doctor said (in front of everyone at the nurses station) that the pt didn’t have any fluid in her lungs & it was an anxiety attack.
He accused me of playing “games” and pulling shenanigans throughout the entirety of our shift. Stonewalled me when I asked him to explain what/why/how I was pulling shenanigans because I was truly unaware of what I was doing that caused him to treat me so horribly. Communication was non-existent

I entered France last Thursday and I realized that we didn’t have to go through customs. We connected in Iceland and they checked our passports, but how does that work? It’s not like we got to customs and they allowed us to keep going. I didn’t even go into a customs area. My son went a couple months back and didn’t have to go through customs either. His school went there after being in Rome for 3 days. What’s up with that? I thought you always needed to clear customs no matter what country you’re arriving in.

I have been dealing with chronic, migrating joint pain for the past 6 years. Within the past 12 months, it has ramped up and moved down into my lower back and SI joints. I took 10 weeks of medical leave last November from my corporate job to try and sort it out because I was in alot of pain which was causing massive anxiety. Unfortunately, during my leave, doctors ran basic tests and said I was fine and put me on anxiety meds.
I've been back at work since February and things continued to deteriorate with my back. I have been sucking it up and pushing through the pain because I fear losing my job. Unfortunately, this weekend, I woke up in a level 9/10 pain, passed out from it, and could not support my upper body weight. Despite this, I still waddled my way into work yesterday and had to take breaks where I had to lie down flat in the bathroom and stretch my SI joints. Its pathetic and embarrassing.
I saw my doctor yesterday, and she is finally taking it seriously and is concerned that something is wrong with my SI joints causing them to be extremely inflamed. My lower back is swollen as well. She gave me a steroid shot (did nothing at all) and has now ordered imaging and autoimmune testing. She has also referred me to an orthopedic surgeon and rheumatologist.
I am happy things are being taken seriously, but at this point - my boss has lost all sympathy and understanding for my health problems and he freaks out anytime I need to leave work early for appointments or if I need to work from home because of pain.
I get his frustration, I will admit that at least once a week, I need to either leave early for apts or wfh due to pain. However, I have never missed a deadline and continue to provide amazing work. I also push through more than I dont and he doesnt see that. I've never once been reprimanded for work-related issues - only the needing to wfh or the appointments, citing that "Others start to get jealous that I'm able to leave early and wfh but they can't". He retaliates by giving me attitude, interrupting me in meetings, and not giving me work or work that is way below my skill level.
I have been trying to find a new job, but the insurance here is good and I need it to resolve these issues hopefully. I am also a single mom, so just up and quitting isn't an option. I'm not sure how to protect my job or if it's even possible to do so. I'm not trying to freak out, but it's becoming harder and harder to take care of myself and I don't have anyone to lean on or help me. I cannot afford for these issues to get to a point where I am unable to be independent.
I am curious if anyone else here has experienced discrimination at work due to chronic pain, or has lost a job because of it. What happened and how did you handle it?
I do have FMLA, but that only covers me for 12 weeks and I've already wasted 10 on medical leave, leaving me with two weeks of FMLA left until November 2024. I'm not sure what my options are moving forward...Do I talk to HR? (I know they are there to protect themselves not me) Is there anything else I can do to protect myself and my job?
I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place here. I've reached the limit where I can no longer push through the pain. I also have to get this imaging and further testing done ASAP, but the places that do the imagine are only open during the same times I work and I live 45 min away from where my job is located - going there on lunch breaks isn't an option.
When dealing with chronic pain, how do you put yourself and your health first when you have a kid to support and are doing it all alone?
Looking for any advice, personal anecdotes, words of encouragement, success stories - anything. I keep feeling so guilty like I am letting people down by being in pain, but it’s obvious now that the pain is real and it's gotten to a really bad point.

Want better performance without sacrificing too much comfort/support to prevent injuries. Which should I choose?
I’m nearing 32 and at this point I play 2-3 hours a week. I have some knee discomfort and lower back pain (lack of stretching and core strength, working on it in PT).
With that being said, I have very wide feet and have tried at this point, all reasonable options and recommendations I could find. I am now trying to choose between two models:
A mizuno monarcida neo 2 Super wide K leather model (4E), and the Mizuno neo 2 Wide elite (3E)
The 4E fits best in terms of width, but has noticeably more dead space in the toe box, and runs a little long. Going a size down is not an option as that would be painfully tight.
The 3E fits best on the toe box as a combination of comfort and snug fit. There’s barely any dead room but I can wiggle my toes freely. The leather feels more premium and comfortable as well. HOWEVER, the sole plate is narrower and my little toes and the outside of each foot around the little toe area are spilling over the soleplate. This doesn’t cause me discomfort but I’m worried it may lead to foot injury or exacerbate back pain down the line due to inadequate foot support.
With that being said, I’m looking for best fit for performance without giving up too much comfort/support. As I get older I want to be wary of injuries. Which option would you choose?

Here is my situation and would like some second opinions before contacting the host.
I am about 10 days into a 40 day long stay in an upper floor apartment for school not travel. The listing said no AC, which I assumed would be no big deal because it’s May and the lows for the night where I am located would be 0-12 degrees C, with highs from 10-20C (maybe 25 near the end of the stay) during the day. Why would I need AC right??
First week or so I am here, it got below freezing at night, was very cloudy and rainy. I did not have any issue with the temperature, it stayed below 20 inside. However last few days I have woken up to it being sunny and my apartment being 25C and about 70% RH. Now here’s the kicker, it reached a low of 5C outside and at 8AM was 10C and I slept the entire night with the window open as much as it would open and a 6” fan (that I brought myself) blowing outside air into the room all night!! I have to close the window when I leave for school due to connected balconies and being in the hood, so when I get home at 430 is usually closer to 27C. I open the window trying to blow like 15C air into the room and it only is able to offset the heat generated by the shower, oven and fridge I am using. So the room temp doesn’t drop much until 8pm, then it is able to crawl down to about 22C by 1030 and does not go much lower. Only for it to start heating back up at 5am I am terrified this place will be actually hostile to my health if the temperatures get any hotter outside…. I theorize the reasons it can get so hot are a combination of:
-piss poor ventilation to my room through a central system (heat through is a manual radiant system fyi. It is most certainly off in my room and not playing a factor)
-being on the 6th floor to a poorly planned old building that probably used to be office space
-knee to ceiling windows across the whole apartment that face east with blinds that are very bad at stopping convection air flow at the tops and bottom
-very old inefficient fridge and stove that put out a lot of heat with no room dividing walls in the suite.
As for how the humidity gets so high, I have absolutely no idea. I think the tiny ventilation duct (there is only 1) is bringing hot humid air from the rest of the apartment building. I am on floor 6 out of 7. I am somewhat conflicted because I am aware the room said no AC when I booked. But I also believe it’s reasonable expectation that no AC means your apartment will be at most 1 maybe 2C hotter than the outside ambient air temp. And differences of up to 15C and 40% humidity is completely insane. Last few days have been barely tolerable and if my apartment temps continue to increase with the forecasted outside temperatures I would like the host to either issue a full refund so I can stay somewhere else or deliver a 10 000 BTU stand alone AC unit. Is that unreasonable?

Cannabis has now been – at least partially – legal in Germany for a good five weeks. Will there soon be THC drinks in this country? Will Germans then drink less alcohol? And where can the substances actually be consumed? While the answers to this will probably take a while to come, many, including those in the beverage industry, are looking with excitement to Canada, where marijuana has been legal since 2018.
The approval there quickly led to the introduction of a wealth of new mixed drinks. The beverage manufacturer Truss Beverages from the province of Ontario brought non-alcoholic drinks enriched with THC and CBD in a wide variety of, mostly fruity, flavors and different, precisely defined potencies onto the market under the brand names XMG, Little Victory, Mollo and Bedfellows. Hey all, I 27M, am diagnosed with L5-S1 disc herniation and disc dessication. I have been experiencing lower back pain since the last 2 months because of this. My doctor has given me some medicines (gabapentin, amitriptyline, muscle relaxant, calcium and vitamin D), physiotherapy, and advised not to lift or carry heavy weights in the near future. I travel alone a lot, and will be shifting to a different city or country soon. Am worried how would I lift or carry heavy luggage with back pain? How do you guys manage? Any advice would be really helpful.

My gut is so unhappy with things like Advil, which doesn't help with the leg pain anyways. Maybe hits some of the abdominal. Just takes the edge off, but always gives me rebound headaches. I was just wondering if there are things that hit it right at the source. I've tried things like voltaren on my abdomen and lower back. It kinda worked.
