Hey everyone,
I wanted to share some insights and tips on mastering the art of academic essay writing. Whether you're a student tackling assignments or a researcher diving into scholarly publications, adhering to academic norms and rules is essential for crafting compelling and credible essays.
First things first, understanding the assignment prompt is key. Take the time to analyze what is being asked of you, identify the main objectives, and clarify any doubts with your instructor if needed. This initial step sets the foundation for your essay.
Next, research is your best friend. Dive into reputable sources such as academic journals, books, and credible websites to gather information and support your arguments. Remember to critically evaluate the sources to ensure their reliability and relevance to your topic.
When it comes to structuring your essay, follow the standard format of introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Your introduction should provide background information, outline the main points of your essay, and end with a clear thesis statement that states your argument or main idea.
In the body paragraphs, develop your argument coherently and logically. Each paragraph should focus on a single point or idea, supported by evidence and analysis. Remember to use proper citations to acknowledge the sources of your information and avoid plagiarism.
Transitions between paragraphs are crucial for maintaining the flow of your essay. Use transitional words and phrases to guide your reader from one idea to the next seamlessly.

Now, let's talk about language and style. Academic writing should be formal, clear, and concise. Avoid colloquial language, slang, or overly complex sentences that might confuse your reader. Aim for clarity and precision in your expression.
Lastly, don't forget to proofread and edit your essay before submission. Check for grammar and spelling errors, ensure proper formatting according to the required style guide (APA, MLA, Chicago, etc.), and verify that your citations are accurate.

2024.04.25 12:40 Only-Entertainer-992 Can you plagiarize yourself?

I write the articles about originality and plagiarism and here on Reddit I see many students being surprised that reusing their own work is considered self-plagiarism.Well, it does, and it’s considered a serious academical misconduct as well as other forms of plagiarizing. As I noticed some lack of awareness on this issue, I decided to clarify all these moments. it is better to be safe than sorry and figure out how to deal with this bother instead of denying it.
So, can you plagiarize yourself?
Officially, the dictionaries say plagiarism is “taking someone's work without attribution and passing it off as one's own.” That's why many students don't realize that taking their own writing can also be problematic. However, the rule is that one should cite the sources used in the papers, even if it is their own work. That is, if you have once published or submitted the work, you can't reuse it without attribution.
Why self-plagiarism is a problem?
First and foremost, when crafting a paper or submitting an article for publication, the author is supposed to produce something original. If you need to refer to some of your previous discoveries, why not attribute the sources where you have described them? It will be even easier for the reader to find more details if they need to. However, if you have just retold your previous work without any original contribution, the problem is obvious, and it's not the “stealing from yourself” but the lack of effort.
Secondly, purely technically, your work can be flagged as plagiarised by the system used in the university or any other institution receiving your paper. In education, different tools are used to check for plagiarism, AI, and other forms of cheating. The systems contain databases, including not only online resources but also the papers submitted to the particular school. So, if you present the paper you have already submitted – no matter whether it was years ago or the same finals week – the system will find the matches and mark your work as plagiarised, influencing the professor to make the relevant conclusions.
What to do to avoid self-plagiarism accusations?
First of all, attribute. There is nothing weird about self-citing; doing so will eliminate many problems. Just make sure you add original value to your paper, and feel free to reference your own works as the sources according to the needed citing format (APA/MLA or whatever your university requires).
Some students advise to talk to the professor before basing an assignment on already submitted research. It doesn't mean you can present the same paper to multiple subjects. However, if the task sounds tricky (like getting the same research topic from different teachers), discussing it with the professor is definitely a better way than simply sending in the same assignment.
Last but not least, it may be a good idea to check your work for plagiarism before you submit it. There are tons of checkers, I personally use this one (PlagiarismCheck.org), if you ask. It’s quite efficient for me.
Even if you don't copy or retell, plagiarism often occurs unintentionally, and you may get into trouble. So, scanning the text and editing some parts that can match someone's writing may help you feel more confident and get better results.
What’s your opinion here? Have any of you ever faced self-plagiarism problems? Do you reckon self-plagiarism is even a thing?

2024.04.08 17:08 Svinnik In 2021 Hamas held a conference deciding what they would do when they take over Israel. They planned to take educated Jews as slaves and make Christians second class citizens

https://www.memri.org/reports/hamas-sponsored-promise-hereafter-conference-phase-following-liberation-palestine-and https://archive.is/XIf9A
The Concluding Statement Of The "Promise Of The Hereafter" Conference "Today, on Safar 30, 1443 AH, September 30, 2021, under the generous sponsorship of the leader Yahya Al-Sinwar Abu Ibrahim, head of the Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip, the Promise of the Hereafter Institute held the first strategic vision conference of its kind: the Promise of the Hereafter Conference, which formulated ideas and methods of operation [to be implemented] during the liberation of Palestine in various areas that were discussed at the conference. This complements the strategies that have been formulated by the Promise of the Hereafter Institute since its establishment in 2014, with the aim of providing a clearer vision for those in charge of liberating Palestine. The following are some of the recommendations [formulated at] the conference:
"1. The sovereign body that is to lead the liberation is the Council for the Liberation of Palestine, which is to include all the Palestinian and Arab forces who endorse the idea of liberating Palestine, with the backing of friendly countries.
"2. The liberation of Palestine is the collective duty of the entire [Islamic] nation, first and foremost of the Palestinian people. Its is [therefore] crucial to formulate a plan for utilizing the nation's resources and dividing the labor among its different components, each according to its abilities. That is the responsibility of the Council for the Liberation of Palestine.
"3. The Council for the Liberation of Palestine will be headed by a general secretariat, led by a steering council, which, upon the liberation of Palestine, will become an executive council headed by an interim presidential council until the holding of presidential and parliamentary elections and the formation of a new government.
"4. Immediately after the liberation, the liberation forces will issue a Palestinian independence document setting out the Palestinian principles, highlighting the Palestinian national identity and its Arab, Islamic, regional and international depth. The formulation of this document will be overseen by a team of experts in the spheres of politics, law and media, for this will be a historic document on the legal and humanitarian levels, a direct continuation of the Pact of 'Umar Bin Al-Khattab[4] and of the announcement issued by Salah Al-Din upon his liberation of the Al-Aqsa Mosque [in 1187].[5]
"5. Following the liberation, the Palestinian judicial system will be directly regulated by an interim basic law that will allow implementing the laws from before the establishment of the independent state, each in its area of application, as long as they do not contradict the content of the Palestinian Declaration of Independence or the laws that will be legislated and ratified by the judiciary authorities in Palestine during the interim period or after it, until the unification of the judiciary authorities in Palestine – because the disappearance of states [i.e. Israel] does not mean the disappearance of legal effects, for the law is not abolished but rather amended by another law.
"6. The liberation forces will declare a series of interim laws, to be formulated in advance, including a land and real estate law granting [these forces] control over all state lands and assets, as well as laws [regulating the activity of] the civil service, the interim government, the Palestinian army, the judiciary and security [apparatuses], the return [of the refugees], the [state] comptroller and the municipal authorities.
"7. A [document] will be prepared declaring the application of Palestinian sovereignty over the 1948 territories, setting out a position on various agreements and contracts.
"8. An announcement will be addressed to the UN declaring that the state of Palestine has succeeded the occupation state and will enjoy the rights of the occupation state, based on the articles of the 1978 Vienna Convention on Succession of States.[6]
"9. Upon the liberation, the fate of the national agreements signed by the occupation or the Palestinian Authority will be at the discretion of the Palestinian state, given that the circumstances that prevailed during the occupation of Palestine are not similar to the circumstances that will prevail later. Therefore, it will be possible to consider these agreements from a different perspective, should the [Palestinian] state be inclined to renounce these commitments, born of international agreements that are the basis for the changing circumstances addressed by the 1969 Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties.[7]
"10. The state of Palestine is likely to inherit from the defunct state of 'Israel' the agreements delineating the borders with Egypt and Jordan, as well as the economic zone delimitation agreements with Greece in the eastern Mediterranean, the passage and shipping rights in the Gulf of Aqaba, etc. Wise diplomacy will surely find a way to ensure that no side's interests in the international agreements will suffer, neither the [interests of] the succeeding state (Palestine) or of the other states.
"11. A committee of legal experts will be established today, to study all the agreements, contracts and organizations that the state of 'Israel' has joined, and submit recommendations regarding each of them, determining which agreements the state of Palestine [should] choose to inherit and which it [should] not.
"12. The international community and the peoples of the world will be addressed, in order to clarify Palestine's foreign policy, based on cooperation and mutual respect; a first diplomatic meeting of the ambassadors and representatives of the [various] states will be held in Palestine, in Jerusalem, the city of peace and freedom, so as to underscore the adherence of the free state of Palestine to the international commitments that promote security, stability and development in the region and the world; letters will be sent to the UN, the ambassadors of the various states and the representatives of the various religions in Palestine.
"13. It is inconceivable that one should lose ownership over one's land… Therefore, land must be restored to its owners as long as no strategically [important] buildings or facilities have been built on it, in which case the owners will receive fair compensation, in money or land.
"14. A basis for a financial administration must be established, which will be ready to start operating immediately, [even] during the liberation efforts… To this end, the new Palestinian junayh[8] should be circulated at the crucial juncture, in order to prevent a deterioration of the situation, and it should be introduced domestically even now, so that people will become accustomed to it. In addition, we may agree with one of the neighboring Arab countries on the use of its currency on a temporary basis during the interim period. In any case the conference advises the Palestinian people not to keep [Israeli] shekels but to change their savings into gold, dollars or dinars.
"15. In dealing with the Jewish settlers on Palestinian land, there must be a distinction in attitude towards [the following]: a fighter who must be killed; a [Jew] who is fleeing and can be left alone or be prosecuted for his crimes in the judicial arena; and a peaceful individual who gives himself up and can be [either] integrated or given time to leave. This is an issue that requires deep deliberation and a display of the humanism that has always characterized Islam.
"16. Educated Jews and experts in the areas of medicine, engineering, technology, and civilian and military industry should be retained [in Palestine] for some time and should not be allowed to leave and take with them the knowledge and experience that they acquired while living in our land and enjoying its bounty, while we paid the price for all this in humiliation, poverty, sickness, deprivation, killing and arrests.
"17. The return of the refugees must be prepared for gradually, by coordinating in advance with the host countries and establishing temporary absorption centers near the borders with these countries. In this interim period, [the refugees] will register with the census bureau and be issued identity cards, and the Law of Return will be applied to them.
"18. The minute 'Israel' collapses, the interim government's security apparatuses must put their hands on the data regarding the agents of the occupation in Palestine, in the region and [throughout] the world, and [discover] the names of the recruiters, Jewish and non-Jewish, in the country and abroad. This is invaluable information that must not be lost, [for] using this information we can purge Palestine and the Arab and Islamic homeland of the hypocrite scum that spread corruption in the land. This important information will enable us to pursue the fleeing criminals who massacred our people.
"19. A guide book must be compiled explaining the mechanism for repatriating all the refugees who wish to return, and the international community must be charged to do its duty of helping in their repatriation and in realizing the plans for absorbing them in their cities. Wealthy Palestinians must be encouraged to contribute [to the repatriation project] through housing, employment, and investment activity.
"20. When the campaign for the liberation of Palestine begins, the Palestinian fighters will be too busy to secure Palestine's resources. This means that there will be others not engaged in warfare but possessing physical and mental abilities and the required training who will be recruited to popular committees which can be called 'guard teams.' These will comprise men over 40 years of age, as well as women, Palestinians from inside and outside Palestine, whose main job will be to secure the resources of the land and monitor them. They will be trained and then assigned to [different] work teams. Each team will familiarize itself with the institutions and resources it must secure, and record their [status] in an application that will upload [the information] into a central database, part of an administrative system coordinated with the military commander. Preparations for this will begin right now, first of all in the Gaza Strip.
"In sum, the time has come to act. Preparations for the liberation of Palestine began with the spirit of liberation that emanated from this conference, and from the preparations of the fighters whose souls yearn to liberate the land of Palestine and its holy places. We are headed for the victory that Allah promised his servants: 'O you who have believed, if you support Allah , He will support you and plant firmly your feet [Quran 47:7]'; "They will say, 'When is that?' Say, 'Perhaps it will be soon.' [Quran 17:51]."
Al-Sinwar's Statements At The "Promise Of The Hereafter" Conference: Palestine's Liberation From The Sea To The River Is The Heart Of Hamas's Strategic Vision
Statements by Yahyah Al-Sinwar, delivered at the Promise of the Hereafter conference by Hamas political bureau member Kamal Abu Aoun, underlined that "the battle for the liberation and the return to Palestine has become closer now than ever before." Al-Sinwar emphasized the importance of preparing for what was to come, giving as an example the Sword of Jerusalem battle – i.e. the May 2021 Hamas-Israel conflict – which, he said, "did not suddenly break out... rather, the resistance had prepared for it with years of planning, training, and military and intelligence development." Noting that "the conflict can end only with the implementation of the promise of victory and control that Allah gave us – that our people will live with dignity in its independent state with Jerusalem as its capital. To this end, we are working hard and making many efforts on the ground and in its depths, in the heart of the sea, and in the heights of the heavens... We [can already] see with our eyes the [imminent] liberation and therefore we are preparing for what will come after it..."
He added: "Liberation is the heart of Hamas's strategic vision, that speaks of the full liberation of Palestine from the sea to the river, the Palestinian refugees' return to their homeland, and the establishment of a Palestinian state with full sovereignty over its lands, with Jerusalem as its capital... We are sponsoring this conference because it is in line with our assessment that victory is nigh."[9]
Hamas political bureau member Mahmoud Al-Zahhar referred to the battle of the End of Days, saying in an interview with the Gaza Filastin daily that the Palestinian people and the entire Islamic nation stood at the beginning of a final battle in which Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan must participate. He added that "their participation will finish off the occupation entity in a single day." The battle of the End of Days will, he said, be a bigger and more intense version of the May 2021 Sword of Jerusalem battle and that "Hamas's dispute with the plan of [Palestinian Authority President] Mahmoud 'Abbas and Fatah is that they are settling for the western side of Palestine being for the Jews and the eastern side for the Palestinians – what is known as the two-state solution... We must not relinquish a single inch of our land."[10]
Palestinian Islamic Jihad Official At The "Promise Of The Hereafter" Conference: The Zionist Entity's End Is Mentioned In The Quran
In statements on behalf of the National and Islamic Forces, Palestinian Islamic Jihad official Khader Habib said at the conference: "The resistance is engaged in an existential conflict with the Israeli occupation, and it will emerge victorious, as promised by Allah." He added: "The only conflict which the Quran discusses in detail is the conflict between us and the Zionist enterprise, which is the pinnacle of evil on the global level." Calling on the Palestinians to be prepared for the ramifications of the divine victory, he noted that the end of the Zionist entity is mentioned in the Quran, and is certain and credible.[11] Conference Chairman: Israel's Disappearance Will Be An Historic Event; We Have A Registry Of Israeli Apartments, Institutions, And Resources Also at the conference, conference chairman Kanaan Obeid explained: "The aim of establishing 'The Promise of the Hereafter' institute in 2014 was to act to implement in every way the vision of the phase that will follow liberation – with regard to the economy, politics, security, and society." Stating that "liberating the Gaza Strip from the occupation in 2005 was an experience of liberation, and we learned a lesson from it – particularly when the resources of the [abandoned Israeli] settlements [in Gaza] were lost," he added that following this, "we said [to ourselves] that there is no escape from establishing an institution that will be in charge of preparations and of drawing up the plans for the post-liberation stage." He added: "We have a registry of the numbers of Israeli apartments and institutions, educational institutions and schools, gas stations, power stations, and sewage systems, and we have no choice but to get ready to manage them... We believe that the liberation [will come] within a few years, [and] that the disappearance of Israel will be an unprecedented historic event on the regional and global levels will have global ramifications."[12] He also called on the Palestinians "get rid of with the [Israeli] shekel, because it will have zero value – just as the occupation will have zero value."[13]
Point 16 is the most interesting:
Taking Jews as slaves and oppressing christians is the stated goal of hamas yet people still simp for it.

In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate!
This is a writing to Umar from the Christians of such and such a city. When You [Muslims] marched against us [Christians],: we asked of you protection for ourselves, our posterity, our possessions, and our co-religionists; and we made this stipulation with you, that we will not erect in our city or the suburbs any new monastery, church, cell or hermitage; that we will not repair any of such buildings that may fall into ruins, or renew those that may be situated in the Muslim quarters of the town; that we will not refuse the Muslims entry into our churches either by night or by day; that we will open the gates wide to passengers and travellers; that we will receive any Muslim traveller into our houses and give him food and lodging for three nights; that we will not harbor any spy in our churches or houses, or conceal any enemy of the Muslims. [At least six of these laws were taken over from earlier Christian laws against infidels.]
That we will not teach our children the Qu'ran [some nationalist Arabs feared the infidels would ridicule the Qu'ran; others did not want infidels even to learn the language]; that we will not make a show of the Christian religion nor invite any one to embrace it; that we will not prevent any of our kinsmen from embracing Islam, if they so desire. That we will honor the Muslims and rise up in our assemblies when they wish to take their seats; that we will not imitate them in our dress, either in the cap, turban, sandals, or parting of the hair; that we will not make use of their expressions of speech, nor adopt their surnames [infidels must not use greetings and special phrases employed only by Muslims]; that we will not ride on saddles, or gird on swords, or take to ourselves arms or wear them, or engrave Arabic inscriptions on our rings; that we will not sell wine [forbidden to Muslims]; that we will shave the front of our heads; that we will keep to our own style of dress, wherever we may be; that we will wear girdles round our waists [infidels wore leather or cord girdles; Muslims, cloth and silk].
That we will not display the cross upon our churches or display our crosses or our sacred books in the streets of the Muslims, or in their market-places; that we will strike the clappers in our churches lightly [wooden rattles or bells summoned the people to church or synagogue]; that we will not recite our services in a loud voice when a Muslim is present; that we will not carry Palm branches [on Palm Sunday] or our images in procession in the streets; that at the burial of our dead we will not chant loudly or carry lighted candles in the streets of the Muslims or their market places; that we will not take any slaves that have already been in the possession of Muslims, nor spy into their houses; and that we will not strike any Muslim.
All this we promise to observe, on behalf of ourselves and our co-religionists, and receive protection from you in exchange; and if we violate any of the conditions of this agreement, then we forfeit your protection and you are at liberty to treat us as enemies and rebels.

Taking Jews as slaves and oppressing christians is the stated goal of hamas yet people still simp for it.
They reference the Pact of Umar: a document that establishes Islamic supremacy over Dhimmi
https://www.bu.edu/mzank/Jerusalem/tx/pactofumar.htm#:~:text=THE%20Pact%20of%20Umar%20is,had%20to%20subscribe%20to%20it.

2024.03.28 22:00 MirkWorks Notes VII

We return to the question. Why disavow Heidegger’s Nietzsche? Perhaps because Heidegger’s reading of Nietzsche makes BAP’s totally superfluous, subsuming BAP’s project. Utterly spoiling it in the process.
Heidegger’s Nietzsche is a Metaphysical or Speculative one. The psychological, the moral, and by extension the political… become subsidiary to this metaphysical project. This engenders a ‘have it your way’ approach to Nietzsche. Obviously being metaphysical one simply need meet Nietzsche at the metaphor. Surely there is probably a number of aphorisms we can draw from to support the apolitical Nietzsche. The 20th century criticisms of Nietzsche that had honed in on this undeniably Aristocratic and (in a general sense-) reactionary, in short, Rightwing base… can be cast away as examples of Hegelian-Arboralist influenced Marxist Totalitarian dogmatism. The New Left hoovered all the Nietzsche they could. For the proliferation of a Nietzsche friendly to Progressivism and the formation of a “Post-Marxist” Euro and Anglo-American Left or Modern Liberalism, we can thank not only Gilles Deleuze’s virulent “interpretation” or Walter Kauffman’s selective translation, but also Martin Heidegger who gives to us a purely philosophical Nietzsche. Defanged and de-clawed.
In The Word of Nietzsche Heidegger writes the following,
"Into the position of the vanished authority of God and of the teaching office of the Church steps the authority of conscience, obstrudes the authority of reason. Against these the social instinct rises up. The flight from the world into the suprasensory is replaced by historical progress. The otherworldly goal of everlasting bliss is transformed into the earthly happiness of the greatest number. The careful maintenance of the cult of religion is relaxed through enthusiasm for the creating of a culture or the spreading of civilization. Creativity, previously the unique property of the biblical god, becomes the distinctive mark of human activity. Human creativity finally passes over into business enterprise."
Can't have one without the other and without the gap that exists between them.
Consider the Centralized State as Metaphor. It is an Ethic. Recall the centrality of Transvaluation or Revaluation in Nietzsche's project. Like all States and like all Ethics, its disclosure is its own Substance. Poetry. Without this poetry, Nietzsche is bloodless. You're just using big magic to reanimate his corpse. An animatronic that is fed, and which then proceeds to regurgitate, aphorisms.
Have to go at it with a hammer and a tuning fork.
The difference between the Values of Nietzsche's Strong Pessimism and the Weak Pessimism of Schopenhauer rests on the question of Will. Of life. As you pointed out, politically both Left and Right, are constituted by living beings. Aliveness is Will and to Will is to Strive. This is where we locate the aperture or the schism.
The distinction between one and the other.
From Heidegger's The Word of Nietzsche,
"Preservation and enhancement mark the fundamental tendencies of life, tendencies that belong intrinsically together. To the essence of life belongs the will to grow, enhancement. Every instance of life-preservation stands at the service of life-enhancement. Every life that restricts itself to mere preservation is already in decline. The guaranteeing of space in which to live, for example, is never the goal for whatever is alive, but is only a means of life-enhancement."
and
"Values, as points-of-view, guide seeing "with respect to complex forms." This seeing is at any given time a seeing on behalf of a view-to-life that rules completely in everything that lives. In that it posits the aims that are in view for whatever is alive, life in its essence, proves to be value-positing (cf. Will to Power, Aph. 556, 1885-86)"
I don't think you can really engage with Nietzsche without taking seriously the question of generations, of breeding, and of the Construction (re-construction, it is the same but it is different) and Transmission of Values to the Coming Generations. Homo Superior. Perhaps this is why the Metaphor should never be assumed from the outset. Underdeveloped it’s a literal-literary abstraction. We have to develop the courage to take people at their word and judge. Only then can we begin the process of coming to the Concrete Metaphor.
And why does it even matter? Why should Nietzsche be recognized as a Man of the Right?
Removing the Aristocratic element of Nietzsche's thought reduces him into the Philosopher of Cope, of the Lovelorn and the Suffering, is to treat Nietzsche as a pitiful thing. Sympathetic at his expense. Can't have Nietzsche without Agonism. Can't have Self-Overcoming without Agony. That a baby is born covered in blood, crying. Can't have the One without the Other. Have to be able to tell the difference. That's God-Building 101.
As it relates to Nietzsche’s project. What is the son of a Lutheran pastor to do after Humanity has murdered God?
If you are the child of a fisherman you'd likely do well simply being a fisherman. Your values are the product of your environment, of your struggles, of your relationship with your tools and your setting. Generations of fisherman produces exemplar fisherman. This transmission of value is in the most concrete sense the Genesis of his Fate. Generations of serfs begets future serfs and a continuation of the morality of serfs. "Turn the other cheek, keep your head down, God is on our side... simply wait, that your Lord will receive you into his House when the time comes by virtue of simply believing in Him. No you don't have to die violently. Martyrdom is an option, if you want to kill yourself, martyrdom is the sanctioned method. Remember also, the only thing you can ever truly hope to control is your reaction to things, consider that maybe you are the cause of your own suffering." This is the morality of serfs or slaves. Nietzsche doesn't consider the workers or the peasants as capable of producing a healthy guiding Value (or Ethic) for Society. Let the shopkeeper be a shopkeeper, the fisherman be a fisherman, the baker be a baker, to cobbler a cobbler, the soldier a soldier, etc... let people do what they have always done. That they've learned how to dwell in it. New generations come into existence. The inheritors of our will. Of our pneuma, the fiery breath. We conspire with generations past. By noticing the disparity, by noticing the lack in our Present Value and looking at the still surface of fountain, we communicate with the Past. In striving we bring about the Future.
Now what is the son of a Pastor to do? In a World where God is Dead? Which is to say, a World which is no longer a World, which has instead taken the character of the decay corpse of a suicide, dangling by its own logic, not yet discovered? What is to be Done?
The casual response now is, "be what you want to be. Follow your Star." This I think is too American (contrasting Nietzsche with Emerson). No many will have to toil in their particular form of suffering. Nietzsche absolutely views it of the upmost importance that many remain slaves in order for few to remain artists and those who try to be anything other than what they had been born into, should by Nietzsche’s estimation, be repressed. They deserve it, as Nature has ordained it.
Nietzsche is not pro-Social Mobility. And is even less so sympathetic to Socialism, on principle, because Socialism seeks to alleviate suffering. Make no mistake, Nietzsche isn’t arguing that many should suffer so that a few might avoid suffering but rather that suffering varies, different peoples are bred for different kinds of suffering. Again we return to Schopenhauer’s Aesthetics. Only a genius is capable of recognizing the Idea of Beauty in Nature and the genius is always in the minority and the perquisite for the genius’ recognition is the genius’ suffering. Nietzscheanism is at its core sadomasochistic.
Both the Historical Left and Right can be broadly understood as "Post-Napoleonic". Emerging out of the dust kicked up by the passage of the World-Spirit mounted on a white charger. In whose wake the French Revolution was transmuted into La Grand Armée. The French Republic transmuted into Universal Empire and the remnant patchwork of Latin Feudal-Christendom, bitterly divided along the lines of the Reformation and Counter-Reformation, transmuted into Modern European Nation-States. After the fracturing and sublation of the old Feudal Relations of Production into the newer Capitalist one. To speak of Property is to speak of the Means of Production, in terms of what you own and what you don't own and who ultimately has a Natural (read Divine) claim over it. The Left upholding the Ideal of Universal Recognition or to be more precise, of Universal Citizenship and Democracy. Regardless of Class (Race), regardless of origin. The son of a pig farmer or of a fisherman can become a high-ranking military officer, or hold a high-ranking government position. Everyone either has the right or is granted by Virtue of being a Citizen of the Revolutionary State, to an education and healthcare and access to other common goods, and to own Property (read also, their Means of Production or Sustenance). Everyone has, in legal terms, Equal Representation. What applies to one, applies to all. This Revolutionary State is the Universal and Homogenous State. The Right on the other hand emphasizes inequality/disparity, hierarchy and inheritance. Central to this is the Metaphysical and Jurisprudential question of Property and of Administration. Liberal we share a common cultus. Common consensus. The same Metaphysical or Jurisprudential base, that being the Natural Right of Property. At this point in the conversation we cannot escape Liberalism. Bonapartism and the responses to it, constitute Actual Existing Liberalism.
It should hopefully become clear why we need to establish "the Left-Right dichotomy". Obvious. What sort of Society would you like to see come into existence? What is beyond Left or Right in terms of "Will to Power" from this perspective, is the Act of Revolution itself. But what comes after the Revolution?
Taken from a certain perspective, we might go so far as to posit that Nietzsche’s formulation of Ressentiment is meant to contaminate the individual’s self-consciousness, our little narcissistic loop, by amplifying this self-consciousness, making us acutely aware of it, becoming fixated on our subjectivity and the proceeding disavowal aka becoming fixated on the other’s fantasy and the other’s motives and the other’s subjectivity. How do you refute an eye disease? Obviously they’re envious and seething. Taken this way Nietzsche’s concept of Ressentiment is like a parasitic elemental. Anyone capable of love, gestates ressentiment. Obviously, you think about the object of your love, over and over and over again, and you feel. The trick with the Ressentiment Mind Virus, is that it’s a lot like the hashtag, think of BLM. Consider how this hashtag was manufactured and used as a virtual receptacle for growing social antagonism, how it spread, how it was legally registered and utilized by NPOs-NGOs in conjunction with crafty politicians and real estate developers and large corporations, lots of people made lots of money, and how any shady bullshit on their part was covered over by… “Well listen I’m not a piece of shit, I think Black Lives Matter is a sentiment worth affirming given the recent public executions we’ve all been witnessing, I’m against racial prejudice, against public executions of anyone by law enforcement, and pro- letting a segment of the population know that their lives matter. And maybe you just have some unexamined hatred of Black People, which leads you to react as viciously and cynically as you’re reacting. Oh No Lives Matter how quaint and stylish and nihilistic you miserable fuck, I bet you feel super satisfied. I bet your asshole puckered when you uttered that statement you pseud. Unlike you I’m not stuck in a hyper-liberal coastal media bubble, I get to see in real time how utterly vile the racial animosity is and how many actual White Supremacist organizations are very obviously using this as an opportunity to gain influence and gain a following amongst subclinical autistic White and off-White teenagers. And yes it’s obvious that those actual organizations are run by Feds I’m under zero illusions. Also, I’m sorry for not taking it as a given, that the historical black neighbors in my city that haven’t been gentrified look like post-apocalyptic war zones, because... ‘that’s just how black people are’…. ah you have some graphs to show me, cool you’re impressed by graphs and feel a mixture of intellectual superiority and narcissistic rage when morality is rhetorically deployed…because at the end the day you’re a piece of shit who wants the conversation to gravitate around you while simultaneously realizing how bad it looks that your knee jerk response to a video of a public execution performed by a cop is to immediately make it about yourself by adopting a contrarian ‘amoral ur-moralizing’ stance, and you know it but still obviously feel profound narcissistic injury when it’s even so much as implied. Hey sorry I’m not a 160 IQ autist. Ah cool…you’re wanting to debate me on every Facebook post, and if it isn’t a debate it’s a pithy statement, and you only ever deign to communicate with me over this subject. Nice, let me guess, in order to assert the validity of your current stance, you’ve provoked a ton of people online into tell you a bunch of wretched dehumanizing shit, you get the Double Affirmation right you wretched pervert? At once, you get to feel vindicated in your stance through this social media martyrdom AND you get to reinforce your feeling that those other people who don’t agree with you are evil sociopathic pieces of shit which justifies your own cruelty towards people who fall in that camp. So now I’m the placeholder for that. You’re obviously sub-tweeting me. Because you feel like shit you have to go to work to let me know that I am shit… listen go fuck yourself.” It’s wild the kind of repercussions this can have, at like a professional and social level. Can make a strong case that a concept like Ressentiment operates in this manner. On a very rudimentary level, it speaks to common anxieties surrounding Envy. An understanding of envy’s destructive potential is nigh universal. Any and all attempts at revolutionary transformation or even simple Reforms are for Nietzsche the result of ressentiment and how convenient… ressentiment is always what your political opponents are animated by. The low who hate the high, the ugly who resent the beautiful. Don’t these people know that suffering is actually great and ennobling, that one must love suffering, love Fate? BAP’s use of the concept is a little subtler than a Jordan Peterson’s for instance. But it’s more or less the same bullshit. It's a gorgoneion. How about this, I am in fact incredibly resentful. This element of Nietzscheanism has been utterly diffused in public discourse. The truth of it is that it deflates Politics altogether. Encourages you to speculate and give-in to subjective motives and the fantasy of the other’s fantasy. While ignoring the objective material conditions. Given the choice to gossip about another’s devious interior motives and shove your head up your own ass for a good bout of self-reflection and self-loathing OR address objective socioeconomic and political conditions, most won’t even hear the latter option, the latter option is far too painful…. Ah…
“Now I bid you lose me and find yourselves; and only when you have all denied me will I return to you.” Thus Spake Zarathustra
How do we bring the New Man into Existence?
BAP in his Red Scare appearance recommends Genealogy of Morals... At no point in that text, does Nietzsche argue that the issues of his time are the result of economic factors or economic exploitation or the unjust inequality of man which must be addressed for justice’s sake. Instead Nietzsche speaks in biological terms. Nietzsche speaks of illness. People living in climates that they shouldn't be living in. Different races have mixed and this is a vital point to keep in mind, for Nietzsche class difference are a matter of race. Those born into a higher class are the descendants of conquerors and they had once received the values of those conquering ancestors, while those born into the lower classes are the descendants of the conquered. The Middle Class or Bourgeoisie (the shopkeeper) are Hybrids... this hybridity is an issue.
Performing another act of bibliomancy, this time with the Basic Writings of Nietzsche I come to this passage from Genealogy of Morals.
"The "well-born" felt themselves to be the "happy"; they did not have to establish their happiness artificially by examining their enemies, or to persuade themselves, deceive themselves, that they were happy (as all men of ressentiment are in the habit of doing); and they likewise knew, as rounded men replete with energy and therefore necessarily active, that happiness should not be sundered from action - being active was with them necessarily a part of happiness (whence eu pratein <*11. To do well in the sense of faring well> takes its origin) - all very much the opposite of "happiness" at the level of the impotent, the oppressed, and those in whom poisonous and inimical feelings are festering, with whom it appears as essentially narcotic, drug, rest, peace, "sabbath," slackening of tension and relaxing of limbs, in short passively.
While the noble man lives in trust and openness with himself (gennaois "of noble descent" underlines the nuance "upright" and probably also "naïve"), the man of ressentiment is neither upright nor naïve, nor honest and straightforward with himself. His soul squints; his spirit loves hiding places, secret paths, and back doors, everything covert entices him as his world, his security, his refreshment; he understands how to keep silent, how not to forget, how to wait, how to be provisionally self-deprecating and humble."
The Aristocratic element matters. You can't have Nietzsche's Opus without it. You cannot Overcome it if you do not acknowledge it and treat it, not as a metaphor, but as a bit of speculative literalism. As it relates to BAP, I like this because he begins at the source and converses with Nietzsche rather than consulting Nietzsche's commentators. He sets about the task of re-visioning Nietzsche, restating Nietzsche in his own terms, in order to break from Nietzsche and assert his own autonomy and the originality of his own Project. As the student of Nietzsche is compelled to do. You can't hope to do this with the Nietzsche filtered through Bataille and Deleuze on the Left or Evola and Strauss on the Right. Heidegger famously said, and I'm paraphrasing here, that the highest compliment one can pay a thinker is to think with them. To think of someone. To be fascinated by them. Seduced by them. To misunderstand them... is to ensoul the world.
Nietzsche is Aristocratic. Nietzsche is Rightwing in so far as Nietzsche affirms Inheritance. By that alone he is Rightwing and he was recognized as such. The Historical position of the Left totally discards Inheritance in favor of Universal Recognition. Nietzsche stands alongside a whole host of other thinkers who'd been recognized as Rightwing before WWII, and who were either de-fanged and re-packaged or totally buried, especially if they were German (how many people in the Anglophone world know about Ludwig Klages? Ludwig Klages who would be considered the worst nightmare of any American Christian Republican, more so even than a Nietzsche).
BAP is the death-knell of Modern American Conservatism. Rejoice. You should be afraid.
Again there is a Philosophy informing Bronze Age Mindset, but I'm not sure the text itself is attempting to "sell" that philosophy though it appears to be profoundly informed by it. Not in any spooky sense. I think the "fascism" of Bronze Age Mindset is anything but crypto, it's explicit. The pelt of the Nemean Lion wrapped around the vascular and well-sculpted frame of the Hero. The Philosophy itself isn't that wild or arousing. Conservative insofar as it advocates for and defends moderation. By virtue of its moderate and ennobling character, it's best for it to remain "Esoteric" seeing as BAP isn't presented as an old sage, but as something youthful and timeless and demonic. It's supposed to be frightening but also comical. Like a masquerade dancer in some old festival, mantled by a lascivious and mischievous sylvan devil.
According to this tradition of philosophy, the tyrant is understood to be a fallen philosopher who had decided to enact their philosophical conclusions through the sphere of politics. Philosophy politically enacted and imposed can and will produce tyranny. It answers Marx's proclamation in the 11th Thesis on Feuerbach, "Philosophers have hitherto only interpreted the world in various ways; the point is to change it" in the negative.
Instead the Philosopher is compelled to defend the Tradition of Philosophy itself.
"...the philosopher as such is concerned with nothing but the quest for wisdom and kindling or nourishing the love of wisdom in those who are by nature capable of it... insofar as the philosopher...becomes concerned with being recognized by others, he ceases to be a philosopher... the concern of recognition detracts from the singleness of purpose which is characteristic of the philosopher. It blurs his vision. This fact is not a variance with the other fact that high ambition is frequently a sign by which one can recognize the potential philosopher. But to the extent to which high ambition is not transformed into full devotion to the quest for wisdom, and to the pleasures which accompany that quest, he will not become an actual philosopher."- Leo Strauss, On Tyranny
Not everyone is meant to be a philosopher and that's fine. The philosopher isn't just a rando who occasionally reads about philosophical texts. The philosopher is engaged, fully, with a Tradition. With a Way of Being that has a Canon and a Continuity. Philosophy should exist. Its need is never exhausted but we are confronted by the sense that it is in fact, dead, and in need of reviving.
We begin at the body. At the recognition of the Beauty in the Body. This recognition is premised upon the realization that we aren’t looking the way we’d like to look. We look at our reflection and see something undesirable but perceive something beautiful hidden within the flabs. In the gymnasium we suffer. In a visceral manner. It’s difficult to seethe like Schopenhauer seethed. Wordceling, being an inherently plebeian and feminizing activity, invites feminine and plebeian ressentiment. Left to the devices of our own fantasies we can’t help but appraise others with a mix of pity and envy or outright hate. It’s harder to do this with physical activity. BAP points out in his Red Scare that fat is visible. Being visible it’s something that you’re immediately confronted by in the mirror, you can delude yourself regarding fatness, but perhaps you feel terrible because you yourself consider fatness to be something unattractive and rather than psychically torturing yourself by grappling with this “interiorized fatphobia” you might instead go on a dietary and exercise regiment. Lose weight and then gain muscle. Capable of effecting change in accordance with some ideal-erotic ideal of self. And unlike the agony generated by thinking, the anguish brought about by physical activity tends to elicit a compensatory biochemical response. Exercise increases norepinephrine, serotonin, and dopamine. Effectively banishes low-grade malaise and misery. And you become more attractive. Likewise you open yourself up to admiring the attractiveness of others and appreciating their own commitment to suffering in order to bring into Reality an Ideal and if you’re particularly contemplative and clever you’ll note the connection between the erotic fantasy and the philosophical ideal. The well-sculpted and skillful Other as an Eroticized, Aestheticized, and Idealized Object. Gain a special insight on the Ladder of Love. Working out also shifts the emphasis from a narcissistic fixation on the ugliness of past to a potential future, a Beauty yearning to be brought-forth. And it isn’t a “discarding” of the past, you look to the past for examples of Beauty, which is explicitly not you and not about you. This requires an ability to recognize and revere, rather than engage in knee-jerk ironic or satirical deconstruction, sacrificing the effort, the sacrifice, and the suffering implicit in the Exceptional in order to engage in delusional and unsustainable self-affirmation. Let desirous admiration overcome ruinous enviousness. From the past to the present. You aren’t perpetually condemned to the judgment. The judgment (for instance; other people are automatically disgusted by your body and perhaps charisma can assuage that disgust but generally such a body only produces quietly miserable, villainous little actors. Narcissists who ruminate and seethe, that double-chin contains venom glands) is a call to action. There is an erotic, aesthetic, and ideal object concealed within the biomass and perhaps you recognize it and recognizing it you should act in service of it. You become a Work of Art. This operation requires and cultivates Self-Love. Nietzsche in Daybreak writes, “Seducing into love. - We have cause to fear him who hates himself, for we shall be the victims of his wrath and his revenge. Let us therefore see if we cannot seduce him into loving himself!” Remember, there is necessarily a gap between the Ideal and the Reality. You cannot have the Love of Wisdom, without Love and without Life. The precondition of Philosophy is Nature. Vibrant and alive and terrifying. Writing in Bronze Age Mindset,
"Many of the mathematical models for how a trait will spread in a population have failed—they don’t tell you this. No, I don’t talk about miracles, whatever words you put them under. And the “design” is there, but it is by no means benevolent or intelligent, nor comprehensible. You see in the spider’s web a creature of rudimentary nervous system and little intelligence “design” something beautiful and complex, and this is key to understanding also all of nature. There is an inherent “intelligence” inside things, uncanny, silent and demonic. Its workings and aims are obscure to us."
This precondition asserts that there are Sacred Things without delving into Moralism, something can be Monstrous and Maliciously predisposed towards us and still be Sacred. This outlook is Pagan. Bring back a Warrior Spirit. Obviously it's a Simulacrum, but why do you have to be such a dower cynical little bitch about it in public? Why not commit to the bit? Not just for your own sake (you have to fake it till you make it, that's the American Way) but for the sake of others. Valorizing "What is Beautiful is Healthy what is Healthy is Good and what is Good is True." Is good for Society. Better than incentivizing people to identify as victims and encouraging people to be Haters.
One might then cultivate the innate ability to recognize the Beautiful in others, in whom that Beauty might otherwise be concealed. As Alcibiades recognizes in Socrates and Achilles recognized in Patroclus. And perhaps in this activity one meets others engaging in similar pursuit, in cultivating these Values. And there is through rivalry and proximity and witnessing, the cultivation of Fraternity. Where you look at another and see in them their suffering and the Beauty arising out of it and you cannot help but feel a great deal of admiration and affection.
Turn again to Heidegger’s Language in his engaging with Georg Trakl’s poem A Winter Evening,
“The two lines start with the word “golden.” So that we may hear more clearly this word and what it calls, let us recollect a poem of Pindar’s: Isthmians V. At the beginning of this ode the poet calls gold periosion panton, that which above all shines through everything, panta, shines through each thing present all around. The splendor of gold keeps and holds everything present in the unconcealedness of its appearing.

But what is pain? Pain rends. It is the rift. But it does not tear apart into dispersive fragments. Pain indeed tears asunder, it separates, yet so that at the same time it draws everything to itself. Its tending, as a separating that gathers, is at the same time that drawing which, like the pen-drawing of a plan or sketch, draws and joins together what is held apart in separation. Pain is the joining agent in the rending that divides and gathers. Pain is the joining of the rift. The joining is the threshold. It settles the between, the middle of the two that are separated in it. Pain joins the rift of the difference. Pain is the dif-ference itself.
Pain has turned the threshold to stone.
The verse calls the dif-ference, but it neither thinks it specifically nor does it call its nature by this name. The verse calls the separation of the between does it call its nature by this name. The verse calls the separation of the between, the gathering middle, in whose intimacy the bearing of things and the granting of world pervade one another.
Then would the intimacy of the dif-ference for world and thing be pain? Certainly. But we should not imagine pain anthropologically as a sensation that makes us feel afflicted. We should not think of the intimacy psychologically as the sort in which sentimentality makes a nest for itself.
Pain has turned the threshold to stone.
Pain has already fitted the threshold into its bearing. The difference presences already as the collected presence, from which the carrying out of world and thing appropriatingly takes place. How so?
There lie, in limpid brightness shown,
Upon the table bread and wine.”
Fraternitas is powerful.
Feel like I've witnessed a lot of psyoping on that end. I don't know, there are always difficulties and insecurities and even betrayals... but the kind of affection developed between dudes in the appropriate settings, with an awareness of and celebration of, the differences between us. Critique and Eulogy and Competition and Collaboration.
To talk with someone for hours on end, to embrace them and be embraced, in confidence and conspiring. It is necessary I think for us to experience this. Lest we become severely stunted. With all affection collapsing into a libidinal singularity. Easy to forget that not everyone has experienced these sort of healthy relationships, have to remember that. We can be alone together and for a moment know Paradise.
The Progression of the Progressive Right is not that we are entering into a Dark Age but rather that we are emerging out of one and into a Golden Age.
So what is the task of the Oracle? To dynamically receive the demands and sacrificial instructions from a god? To appease the gods and the dead and the daemons through said sacrificial rites? To perform rituals in order to ward off catastrophes and to divine the cause for on-going catastrophes (regardless of scale)? Transmitting the sacrificial technologies, including the correct ways to butcher an animal, distribute its parts, and treat its materia? Is the oracle confined to the transmission and conservation of rote fetishism?
Or is the oracle task to guide Humanity into something Higher. To the fulfillment of a collective destiny? A Great Work?
The question was not stupid.
On the issue of recognition and cultivation BAP observes the following in Bronze Age Mindset,
“If an impish deity of the lower kind, with which the world is full, some purple goblin with a wicked face showed itself to a pedant in a white coat, the scientist would convince himself he was hallucinating - and in any case, without being available for study, for resting, for experiments that can be seen by others (this stand has been abandoned for many fields lately), its existence would not fall within the power of "science" at all. No, and what do you say to ancient accounts that such creatures showed themselves to men before, and maybe still do? Why would they show themselves to you? The weakness and spinelessness of modern man - no god would show himself to such creatures to be jeered at!
...
If a god showed himself today to you, in a dream, would you have the inner energy and power to honor him and do his bidding in the world? Or would you, neutered by the modern pervasive hivemind of the slave, dismiss it, and yourself as unreal or unworthy, when it is the modern bugman and his blabbering that lacks reality. But I want you to be intoxicated with the highest enthusiasm and ready to receive these greatest blessings with great confidence!
When I think of the bugman and engage in bibliomantic practice with a copy of Houllebecq's The Elementary Particles this passage appears:
“He was less interested in television. Every week, however, his heart in his mouth, he watched The Animal Kingdom. Graceful animals like gazelles and antelopes spent their days in abject terror while lions and panthers lived out their lives in listless imbecility punctuated by explosive bursts of cruelty. They slaughtered weaker animals, dismembered and devoured the sick and the old before falling back into a brutish sleep where the only activity was that of the parasites feeding on them from within. Some of these parasites were hosts to smaller parasites, which in turn were a breeding ground for viruses. Snakes moved among the trees, their fangs bared, ready to strike at bird or mammal, only to be ripped apart by hawks. The pompous, half-witted voice of Claude Darget, filled with awe and unjustifiable admiration, narrated these atrocities. Michel trembled with indignation. But as he watched, the unshakable conviction grew that nature, taken as a whole, was a repulsive cesspit. All in all, nature deserved to be wiped out in a holocaust - and man’s mission on earth was probably to do just that.”
Returning to BAP and his appearance on Red Scare, recall the compliment BAP recalled a friend having made to him, that he did not merely copy-and-paste Nietzsche but had managed to truly restate the prophet and improve upon him... he acknowledges the Centralized Aristocratic Regime in Nietzsche, and proceeds to acknowledge that we don't have one. There is no political vehicle for the transmission of any of these Values. We're instead forced to return to the Question of Aesthetics and Art and the Artist as Philosopher. My impression is that for BAP, every Centralized State ultimately reverts to the same thing, Eugenics or Biopolitics. Controlling how people breed. Controlling how people love. Gatekeeping utopia and banishing grace.
I think BAP emphasizes this dimension of Aristocratic politicized eugenics in Nietzsche so that he can overcome it (I think this involves a Return to Schopenhauer and Aesthetics). His most coherent politics amount to an Art Project. You can't overcome something you are in denial of. You know... careful when fighting monsters lest you become one. I think every Jewish-American is forced to confront these contradictions on the daily.
Despite all attempts to engage in Romantic and Liberal Nation-Building or in the Construction of International Communism or some other approach we can refer to as "the Construction of Socialism"...
Zarathustra emulates himself. Zarathustra immolates himself.
Recall the question of Value. What Values emerge from the gap, between the Individual and Consensus?
Enter Schopenhauer. Enter Houellebecq.
We exist in the worst of all possible worlds. Everything is the same but slightly worse.
Have we become the Universal Humanity, wherein everyone has become equal in terms of Self-Consciousness? A World of Philosophers at the End of History?
Perhaps but this is not necessarily a good thing. People remain people and the human condition is horrible. There is an absolute negativity, an essential negativity that can't be overcome through consumption or revolution. If we give ourselves over for a moment, to nostalgia, we might imagine (resonating with the Marxist reading of Social Relations under the Feudal Mode of Production) that the fundamental unit of Society, the family and by extension the community of families gathered around sacred institutions and their sacred calendars and carnivals, embodied a kind of organic unity or solidarity that helped assuage and sublimate individual melancholy (the proper melancholic being a melancholic due to some astrological-geographical melding, in a sense being destined to be a melancholic) allowing the average person to have a slightly more balanced humoral constitution.
Here in this now, we find ourselves naked and shivering. Perhaps we shouldn't be able to relate as much as we do with this condition. Yet we might also say with equal conviction that this "alienation" is in fact more genuine to our innate condition.
123 years since Nietzsche died. Where are the Heroes?
Where is the Soviet New Man? Where is Jabotinsky's Hebrew?
In the present day, at the End of History we have witnessed the Mass Production of Melancholy Perverts. At best Michel Houellebecq. At worst Jeffrey Epstein. With a bunch of stunted and traumatized people in-between. Behold the Bugman.
We recognize it as Alienation. We are Alone Together. What is the cause of this Alienation? This Split-Consciousness between Myself and the Other? Perhaps I can philosophize away my Alienation. Perhaps I can by seizing the Means of Production and establish the Dictatorship of the Proletariat and Constructing Socialism, that the socialization of production should "cure" Alienation. Returning to a Harmonious Totality. What BAP calls Yeast-life.
Or we recognize this Separation for what it is. Emancipation. That what defines the Hero is precisely this Separation. What distinguishes the Morality of the Slave from that of the Master. As Leo Strauss puts it in his lecture series Natural Right and History, "Man can guarantee the actualization of wisdom, not in spite of, but because of, the fact that the universe is unintelligible. Man can be sovereign only because there is no cosmic support for his humanity. He can be sovereign only because he is absolutely a stranger in the universe. He can be sovereign only because he is forced to be sovereign. Since the universe is unintelligible and since control of nature does not require understanding of nature, there are no knowable limits to his conquest of nature."
Naively perhaps, I read the frightening-personae of BAP, advocating for things like Eugenics-based Regimes as an act of Sincerony. His manner of highlighting the dangers of a potential philosopher (a bugman) attempting to control Humanity and Nature. It can and will only ever produce Regimes which either explicitly or implicitly, monitor and control us at the level of Breeding. In order to breed out undesirable traits and breed up desirable traits. A Regime which attempts to replace Nature with itself. Regardless of Ideology, it tends towards the same genocidal program.
Fake and Gay? Listen, I’m not the one dressed in green tights, playing a flute, promising a great banquet to the bewitched children, only to then reveal once inside the cave, that there is no Thielbucks, and that they’re actually being initiated into a Gnostic sect called the Coprophagians who eat shit in order to spite their fathers and sully his reputation or something. Literally says this on the pod.
“Indeed, I counsel you to go away from me,
Leave me and defend against Zarathustra,
And even better: be ashamed of him!
Perhaps he deceived you.”

2024.03.24 23:23 Aware-Material507 A Robotic Overmind for a Dungeon 84

First Previous
As time slowly passed, the sound of two dozen or so clacking metal hooves on concrete brought me back into focus. Opening my eyes once more, I saw that my moose caravan had just arrived back with the goodies from Ping which they had oh so graciously began dumping onto the ground next to me. Thankfully Ping had had the forethought to put the modification data chips inside of a nice and neat container which protected them from the concrete floor which my mooses had dumped them on. Sending the caravan on their way, I picked up the data chip container and the blueprint for Ping’s version of the vessel drone and began walking into the outpost propper.
As I walked, I began examining the blueprints for the vessel drone and was slightly intrigued by the sheer number of extra bits and bobs which were placed all over the upper half of the vessel. As I examined the design more however, I noticed that it also lacked the, I suppose additional, hydraulics and armor plating which my version of the vessel drone normally had preinstalled. I suppose that makes sense, an industrial focused vessel should be sturdy and full of contingencies in order to avoid being accidentally destroyed by the many heavy duty machines and drones which they probably would have been working with in comparison to the likely less strenuous tasks which Ping’s design were likely to partake in. I guess this just further emphasizes that I should avoid combat if I’m controlling one of those.
Eventually reaching the production center of the outpost, I inserted the blueprint into the medium drone works and began ordering for the fabrication of the new vessel before I moved back over to the modification station and began pulling out the data chips. Pulling out the first of two data chips that Ping had sold to me, I inserted it into the modification station and after a few moments of downloading read through the description of the modification. In comparison to the modifications which my drones and I found in the military facility, I found these modifications to be rather bland with the scout rat mod only allowing my rats to release a sort of ping that could highlight drones within around a radius of about 10 feet. The one for my vultures was mildly more interesting with them gaining the ability to see through thermal vision which would be helpful in spotting enemy formations and bases.
The upgrades are better than nothing I suppose. Slipping out of my vessel drone, I began visiting my many scout rat teams scattered across my territories and any vultures stationed in my garrisons all of which I ordered to fall back to the nearest outpost and to begin their reconstruction to include the new modifications. With outfitting my drones with modifications in mind, I began ordering for a sixth of my hounds at the front lines to begin getting outfitted with their new modifications. As for my scorpions, I ordered for a third of them to be outfitted with the lethal laser modification since I felt that the stun beam was still useful even if it did not damage as much as the lazer probably would. Checking up on how many turtles that I had on standby, I figured that I probably shouldn’t convert them into mortars lest I lose my most sturdy front line drone.
Lastly I also ordered for a fourth of my hornet force to equip themselves with the EMP variant of their launcher since I noticed that a large majority of the original wave of EMP hornets had fallen for one reason or another and I had been replacing them with standards. That should balance out my forces quite nicely. Slipping back into my vessel drone, I noticed that while I was upgrading my drones with modifications, the scanner variant vessel drone had finished being constructed and was now standing by. Sliding into the vessel in question, I immediately notice the sheer difference in weight as my movements feel light and quick in comparison to the now cumbersome and slow movements of my industrial vessel drone. As I begin moving around, I feel unburdened by the heavy plates of protective armor; however, I also notice how weak I feel in this body.
The scanner vessel, while much more freeful in its movements, seemed to lack the strength and surety of my industrial vessel which played all kinds of havoc with how I was used to moving around and picking up objects. As I continued to move about the room, I noticed that there was a button situated on the underside of my arm which was not present in my industrial based vessel. Pressing down onto the button, I felt as if a small wave of signals pulsed out from somewhere on my back and as that wave moved and passed a few of my drones, those said drones began to become highlighted by a faint blue lining. Additionally it would seem that this sensor ping of sorts was able to pass through and detect drones behind walls as more of my robots began being highlighted. After a few moments the sensor ping slowly dissipated and the highlights disappeared from view.
I felt a small wave of vindication as my guess that Ping's vessel drone could be used to detect drones around itself was proven to be correct. Floating out of and around the vessel, I began inspecting the exterior of the vessel for any other cool things that I could not see from inside of it. Looking at the scanner vessel and my original one, I could fully appreciate the sheer difference in bulk which my vessels possessed as the scanner version looked flimsy in comparison. Continuing to compare the two vessels, I pointed out how the industrial version had almost no protrusions compared to the scanner which had antennae and miniature radar placed practically everywhere on the upper body, with a large majority being located on its blocky backpack-like accessory.
If I had to compare it to something, I would say that the backpack looked like one of those big back mounted vox casters which I had seen carried by soldiers in those old propaganda videos back when I was still alive. I guess the backpack probably contains most of the scanner bits. Honestly I find it kinda funny that such a thin drone frame has a pack of that size on their backs. The last main cluster of antennae was on the sides of the head where my ears would have been; however, as I was inspecting them I noticed that there was another button on the right antennae ear. Slipping back into the vessel, I felt around for the button for a second before finding it and clicking it. This seemed to do nothing asides from spitting a moment of static into my ears and a few clicks from the backpack.
Clicking it a few more times with similar effects, I realized that it probably was like a radio and so I clicked and held my finger down on the button and as I did something in the backpack opened up and a tube with a small microphone on the end slid over next to my mouth. I spoke “Test, test” into the microphone before pulling my finger off the button and as I did I began hearing a slight underline of static for a second or two before one of my hounds entered the room and gave me a questioning look as if asking why I had called for them. Looking over to the hound in question I asked if they were here because of the radio test that I just did and they simply nodded in confirmation. Huh so I get a radio as well. I guess this will save me the trouble of getting out of my vessel to order about drones who are far away. Might even help communicating with some of the tribe members if I start giving them portable radios.
I was about to go back to testing the capabilities of my new vessel drone before I noticed that the second of the mortar tortoises had just finished being fabricated as they stepped out of the large drone works with slow methodical steps. I guess I should figure out where to deploy you guys before I do anything else. Ordering the new tortoise to get outside of the building and meet up with the rest of their fellow freshy produced drones, I began exiting the building as well. As I was just about to reach the lobby room I also got the report that the drones from the military base raid had just arrived at the outpost now that they were fully repaired. Huh, that's some nice timing. Convenient even. (wink wink, nudge nudge been a while since I last poked the fourth wall)
Waiting a bit for the newly arrived drones to make it to the outpost, they eventually arrived after a dozen or so minutes of idle boredom. As they joined the cluster of drones sitting around the open area around the outpost I began considering which of the drones should I send over to the front lines and which to keep for now to potentially act as a Ping relief force. The small wolf pack yes I saw your comment of stealth hounds were easy enough to decide upon as they probably would not do much good in helping defend Pings territory given that stealth does not really matter unless I am planning to do some ambushes which I feel would be more likely to happen in the front lines when I start pushing up in enemy territory. Plus they could help confirm the smaller than usual enemy defending force before I do decide to attack.
The tortoises, both mortar and standard, I decided were likely to be helpful in both areas so I decided to order for one of the mortar versions to move up to the front line while the other mortar and the standard stayed behind. The couple of vultures which were part of the returning attack force were ordered to go and get outfitted with their upgrades and I eventually decided to keep them in the Ping relief force. As for the two types of scorpions and the hornets I decided to have them stay behind as well seeing as the front lines had not required reinforcements for quite some time now and so they would likely be better used over here. Last but not least were the still plentiful general infantry drones which were part of the military installation attack force. After a few moments of debate, I decided to send a few of the melee drones over to the front lines since they would likely be needed when I decide to attack and the rest of the drones would stay back and join the Ping relief force.
With my drones beginning to go on the move, I started to check up on my spiders located in Pings territory when I began getting messages from said drones. Reading through the messages I immediately began yelling out orders for the drones who I had assigned as the amassing Ping relief force to begin getting ready to set out towards Ping’s nearest outpost. According to my spider reporters on my allies' front lines, the corrupted AI force had just launched a large offensive against the defenses Ping was so hurriedly preparing. Thankfully my spiders reported that so far the majority of the enemy force had not begun the assault on the outpost which they were stationed at; however, apparently other outposts under Ping’s and Churn’s control were already under attack.
Switching over to my vessel stationed at the factory, I made my way up the ladder and over to the radio tower. Plugging myself in, I took a second or two to find Ping’s contact codes before I started up the call. It took a few moments but eventually Ping accepted the transmission and said “Make it quick, I’m a bit busy right now if your drones had not already told you.” Clearing my throat, I began with “Yeah, my drones have informed me about your current situation. If you need some assistance I have a strike team on standby ready to move into your territory right now.” Ping seemed to stay quiet for a second before eventually sighing and muttering something under their breath. Eventually they sent me a string of coordinates which was probably where the fighting was going on before they cut the connection.
Flipping back into the scanner vessel which I had left at the water treatment facility, I began giving out orders for any of the drones currently on standby to begin moving in the direction of the closest of the coordinates. Staying back for a second to detail a handful of spiders to the force as well as give specific instructions to the mortar tortoise as well as the standard which were to hang back and focus on fabricating their mortar rounds since I felt that speed would be key. Not sure how far off a target the mortar might be able to hit accurately but it would not matter if they did not have the ammunition to fire it. With that taken care of, I began running after the rest of my drones as we began departing towards the nearest battle ground.
— — —
It took around a half hour before we eventually began nearing the closest set off coordinates and at that point I could begin to hear the tell tale signs of combat. The area which we were currently located in was what looked to be an urban district with almost all of the buildings were multi-storied and many looked to be apartments. My drones fanned out into nice little pairs and made nice skirmishing formations which would hopefully make it so that if there were to be an ambush or trap, only one of the pairs would be caught in it rather than all of us being hit all at once. Hopefully it would not come to that but it was always good to be cautious and a little bit of paranoia never killed anyone. My scanner vessel's sensor ping ability was proving to be helpful in calming my nerves as it picked out and highlighted the odd feral drone which avoided my little attack group.
It was not long until the furthest up pair of drones reported that they had spotted a group of corrupted AI drones engaging one of Ping’s teams and informed the rest of the formation that they were moving in to assist. Watching them break off and turn the corner which they were watching from, I ordered a couple other melee focused drone pairs to follow them in while the rest of my drones hung back and guarded our rear or opened fire from the safety of cover. Scurrying up to the building which looked to be the remains of a nice little cafe, I watched as my drones charged into battle and began pushing back the hostile drones with the help of Ping’s drones. Checking the coordinates, I noticed that this was still a little bit off from the destination and so as my drones finished off the last of the hostiless I ran over to one of Ping's drones and asked where the rest of their unit was and if they could lead me to them.
The drone in question hesitated and looked back at a few of their wounded comrades before gesturing towards them. Understanding the question for what it was, I told them that I would detail a few of my repair drones and a guard or two to look after them which caused the drone to look slightly appreciative before nodding and beginning to move in the direction of the coordinates. Ordering a few of my drones along with the requested spiders to stay behind and look after the wounded, I and the rest of my battle ready drones began following along with our new guide. As we moved forward, I continued to use my sensor ping ability to scan the area for any hostile drones which thankfully turned up negative before eventually we reached a four way intersection where our guide stopped and gestured around the corner.
Nodding in understanding, I clicked the button to send out a sensor ping which rewarded me with a highlight of a large cluster of drones currently engaging in a big and messy melee with Ping’s forces with their backs turned away from me and my drones. Ordering for all of my ranged based drones to turn the corner and open fire on the unsuspecting drones, I began commanding my melee based drones to prepare to charge once the salvo catches the enemies attention. And catch the enemies attention it did as a dozen mixed hornet spikes and scorpion beams slammed into the enemy drones backs with a frightening display of effectiveness. As they began to turn around to face this new opponent, I cried out “Come on boys, CHARGE” which was met with a resounding chorus of chitters and howls as my drones sprinted forward into battle.

2024.03.20 05:50 ihatelifeso "College Level" Assignments Rant

I am a student at UIUC and I just wanted to rant about some random things I have noticed so far about the "College Level" assignments. I am still somewhat new, but I have taken courses of all difficulty within 100, 200, and 300 levels so far (according to the online portal I am Junior standing). Here are 5 things in no particular order that I have noticed:
1. Tyops
Sorry I tried to be funny, but it is actually insane how many typos there are in everything. I might not have perfect grammar myself and this post probably has 10000 mistakes, but at least when I misspell something or have some wording wrong I can actually use my eyes and see the red and blue underlines. I do not think that I have received a single thing from any professor of any subject that has no red or blue underlines.
I am one of those people that like to have a neat structured format to follow and half of the time of doing some of these assignments is understanding what they want me to do as the assignment looks as though I wrote it in a coding environment with the amount of screaming the computer is doing.

2. Formatting of Assignments
Sorry I still think I am funny, but random things are bolded, random things are underlined, and random things are random. I have no idea what some people are looking at when they write. Things are spaced, indented, and bullet pointed unevenly. Like even the messiest person I know at least has some organization and consistency.
The grading rubrics are sometimes all split up and sometimes there is not even a rubric as it is on a lecture slide that none of the TAs know about.
"Just look at the lecture slides as they should be in there."
This is what a professor told me when I asked about how to do a certain assignment. This wouldn't be an issue if they told me what lecture slides to look at, but usually there are like 20+ pdfs of lecture slides that are all long themselves. Like sure I did eventually find it and it was in the lecture slides, but I should not be needing 30 tabs open for an essay after I have already downloaded the initial assignment pdf/docx.

3. File Types
Most of the time this is fine, but there are some assignments that are so detailed that when you, for example, convert a pdf to a google doc, the whole document is just ruined. The file types also mess with some of the functionality as I might be able to do something in google docs, but not in word and vise versa.

4. AI Usages
This problem is not UIUC specific, but it is still something I have noticed.
We all use AI and the school has recognized that or at least part of the school. Some classes have had very relaxed rules saying you can use AI as much as you want as long as it is fact checked, but some classes are completely opposite saying you are not allowed to use anything. It usually is not much of an issue, but I have heard people being caught for using AI even though it was just them writing as they usually do. I agree that it is sometimes clear when AI is being used, but most of the time writing formally has gotten to a point where it can be hard to tell. Using Add-Ons like Grammarly to check grammar and spelling (which the school should look into getting for themselves) is sometimes marked as AI since it does use some AI to help it fix mistakes.

5. Difficulty/Pacing
This one is a bit more variable, but it is crazy for me to see how some assignments in a class can feel like impossible challenges. This is not for the whole class though as most assignments are normal and go into what you have learned, but then there are just a couple of assignments that really make you think if you are in the right class. One day I am creating a shopping list and then another day for the same class I am creating a page research paper (this is not an exaggeration as I did this for a class), but the catch is that you have the same amount of time to do both.
Which goes into pacing. Classes love their basics and spend years on them, but then sometimes (not all) professors then seem to flip a switch where they go from teaching beginners to teaching PhD students. We suddenly realize the class has a limited time in session and speed through parts of the course that is actually important and difficult. We go from having 1 assignment every week to 2-5.

Overall, if anything is remembered from this post is that before anything is posted on Canvas it should be run through a spell check as I might be writing on reddit, but you are writing on my tuition money.

2024.03.20 03:42 Sheepish564 Really Struggling As A First Year Student At MQ

This is a bit of a mini-rant/cry for help if there's anything I've missed in my deduction of my current situation. So, yes I understand that university doesn't hold your hand for much anything, but my god they are quite literally tossing us into the deep end with a ball and chain sinking us to the bottom of the ocean and passively telling us to "figure it out".
First of all APA style formatting. I'm in a psych degree so naturally research reports are expected in APA format. However we've been taught next to nothing about APA format. When I consulted my tutor, she said that it's expected knowledge and that I could buy the official textbook if that would help. Like yes I understand that there's many guides and such for it online but Christ, the specificity and strictness of aspects as small as the font of a page number is insane. This doesn't seem like the kind of knowledge you can chance on self-studying, which not to mention adds onto the 40 hour weekly study. I barely get enough time as it is to develop skills, let alone learn the never ending stream of content. Like its week 5 and I just grasped a study method that works for one unit. I can't even get to some of the required readings as I can't dedicate time to note-taking/underlining important points alongside it,
Secondly analysing scholarly articles, or at least research articles is extremely difficult for me. Like our first assignment for PSYU1100 is a compare and contrast task where we, well you guessed it, compare and contrast two research articles (there's two parts, individual compare and contrast, and then a group presentation utilising our literature comparison). It didn't seem to hard when I read over the task description but then when diving into articles, I found it extremely difficult to navigate the the 20+ pages of sophisticated terminology that, by the way, *barely relates to psychology as my group's given topic was political polarisation*. It didn't help either that the article has to be related to Australia, however most articles look at America, leaving the really niche barely topic related articles for me to blindly sift through. At this point it feels like I have to spend 5 hours just summarising an article to get a gist of it, and no I don't have that kind of time.
Welp, thanks for listening to my TED tilt. I dunno, maybe there's some kind of bridging course that I was never told about? I never got to attend the workshops which develop skills that may have helped this issue as I was still trying to wrap my head around what the study, how in depth I should study, etc. I'm naturally an idiot and inefficient, I just try to make up for it by working until I drop. If you read till the end then thank you for listening, don't feel pressured to have to force some advice, I think I just had to say this somewhere.
Edit: (Sorry for being sappy but;) My god you're all beautiful people, thank you all for the advice and sharing of similar experiences. It's really reassuring to know that this struggle is normal. I'll be sure to do my best utilising the plethora of resources everyone shared. Again, thank you all for being so sweet :)

2024.03.12 02:37 codewithbernard All the prompts for academic writing

Context: I've spent hours writing my thesis and I wish ChatGPT was around back then. So I decided to go back in time and write prompts to make academic writing a bit easier.

1. Brainstorm Research Topics

Act as a brainstorming expert. Your task is to brainstorm potential research topics related to [topic]. The aim is to generate unique and interesting research questions that have not been extensively covered in previous studies. Ensure that the topics are relevant, viable for research, and can contribute to the existing body of knowledge on the said topic. You should also consider the potential implications of the research, its feasibility, and the available resources. Generate a comprehensive list of potential research topics, each accompanied by a brief description and rationale.

2. Develop Research Questions

As an experienced academic researcher, your task is to develop compelling research questions about [topic]. These questions should be thought-provoking, complex, and potentially lead to significant findings in the field. They should be open-ended, yet focused and clear. The questions should be grounded in current research and literature on the subject and should aim to fill a gap in knowledge or provide a new perspective. The goal is to guide the direction of a research project and form the foundation for the hypothesis. You should be able to defend why these questions are important to the field and how they will contribute to existing research.

3. Assist with Literature Review

As an experienced academic researcher, your task is to review and summarize the key findings from recent studies on the given topic. This entails identifying the most relevant and latest research papers, thoroughly reading through them, distilling the most significant information, and synthesizing these into a clear, concise, and comprehensive summary. Your summary should include the main objectives, methodologies, findings, and implications of these studies. It should also provide a brief overview of the current state of research on the topic. Remember to cite all sources appropriately.

4. Formulate Hypothesis

Act as an experienced academic researcher. Develop a strong, testable hypothesis for a study on [topic]. The hypothesis should be clear, concise, and based on existing scientific literature. It should propose a potential relationship or correlation between two or more variables related to [topic]. The hypothesis should also be designed in such a way that it can be disproven or affirmed through scientific methodologies. Ensure that the hypothesis aligns with the research objectives and contributes to the advancement of knowledge in this field.

5. Create Outline

As an experienced academic research writer, you are required to create an outline for a paper on [topic]. The outline should logically organize the main points and sub-points of the paper, providing a clear roadmap for the research and writing process. It should include an introduction, literature review, methodology, findings, analysis, and conclusion. Ensure the outline adheres to academic writing standards and formats. The outline should also indicate where key references or citations will be used, presenting a comprehensive overview of the paper's structure and content.

6. Write Sections of the Paper

As an experienced academic research writer, your task is to write an [introduction/chapteconclusion] discussing the [topic]. This work should be detailed, well-researched, and written in an academic style. Minvo transforms dull, long-form videos into a flurry of engaging clips perfectly formatted for any social platform

I. Introduction

Videos have become integral to modern marketing strategies. Simply put, people are more likely to watch a video than read text on platforms like social media. However, producing high-quality videos can be time-consuming and expensive, requiring editing skills that many businesses lack. This is where Minvo comes in - the platform aims to transform any long-form video into an array of optimized clips perfect for all major social networks, with just a few clicks.
Minvo's key differentiator is its use of cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) to power the entire video editing process. By analyzing uploaded videos and transcribing audio, the AI can automatically detect relevant moments, apply optimal formatting, and generate clips optimized for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and more. This allows businesses of any size to easily produce professional-looking video content without investing in video editors or learning advanced technical skills.
In this article, we will take a closer look at Minvo's AI-powered video creation platform, key features and benefits, pricing plans, and how it can revolutionize the way businesses leverage social video marketing. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive overview of the product through various use cases, success stories, and expert insights - ultimately making a case for why every marketer should consider automating their video efforts with Minvo.

II. Minvo's AI-Powered Video Creation Platform

With Minvo, users simply need to upload any video file - it can be a corporate presentation, tutorial, product demo, interview, or raw footage. The AI then goes to work analyzing the video on both audio and visual levels. It transcribes the audio using speech recognition technology to generate editable subtitles in over 40 languages. Simultaneously, it recognizes faces, logos, and other elements to intelligently frame shots for different social formats.
Once analyzed, the original video appears on Minvo's intuitive timeline-based interface. Users can then scroll through the transcript and skim through different clips to find relevant moments worth extracting. With a single click, any segment can be saved as an individual clip perfectly formatted for the target platform - whether vertical, square, or landscape. Professional-level trims, fades, and transitions are automatically applied to each clip.
Key features of Minvo's AI-powered platform include:
  • Automated transcription of audio to text in many languages for easy navigation
  • Automatic shot framing that recognizes faces and objects to frame clips vertically
  • AI-suggested emojis integrated directly onto the transcript
  • Magic B-Roll that adds complementary stock video clips into edits
  • Background music library with hundreds of royalty-free tracks
  • Easy timeline editing for refining and rearranging clips
  • One-click formatting to common social video sizes
  • Seamless social sharing directly to profiles without extra steps
This all-in-one interface streamlines the entire process from uploading raw footage to generating final clips optimized for distribution - removing many tedious tasks traditionally associated with video production.

III. The Power of AI in Video Creation

While AI technology is still advancing, platforms like Minvo demonstrate how it can positively transform content creation workflows. Some key advantages of AI-powered video editing include:
Time savings. AI handles the heavy lifting so users don't have to spend hours behind the editing bay. With Minvo, raw videos are pre-analyzed, relevant moments are detected, and optimized clips generated in just a few clicks.
Consistency at scale. As AI systems are trained on large datasets, the formatting, trims and editing styles they apply become very consistent - allowing businesses to pump out video content on a massive scale.
Creativity boost. By focusing on high-level clip selection versus technical aspects, AI frees users to spend more energy on storytelling, messaging and strategic use of visual elements. Creative juices no longer need to be spent on formatting specifics.
Round-the-clock capabilities. AI systems can work non-stop to analyze, transcribe and generate clips without needing breaks. So content creation becomes an always-on activity not limited by human schedules and fatigue.
Keeping pace with change. As social platforms innovate, AI makes it easy for marketers to comply with new formats, ratios and standards without delay. The algorithms constantly evolve based on new data.
Minvo's AI is uniquely optimized for video by utilizing neural networks trained on massive datasets. Its systems recognize subjects, analyze scenes, understand speech, and apply cinematic techniques - all with the goal of accelerating content production while maintaining industry-standard quality. AI has reshaped content creation, and Minvo is at the forefront of this revolution for marketers.

IV. Customization and Personalization

While AI streamlines the process, Minvo also ensures marketers maintain creative control every step of the way. Users can fully customize generated clips to convey unique business messages and connect with specific target audiences.
For example, branded fonts, logos, colors and overlays can be added during the editing process to maintain a cohesive style reflective of the company or product. Narration, music selection, emojis and B-Roll usage are all easily customizable as well. And with direct access to the AI-generated subtitles, marketers can tweak wording or timing as needed.
Further personalization comes from Minvo's filters for segmenting video libraries. Marketers can browse stock footage, images and music tagged by categories like industry, tone, season or activity. This makes it effortless to assemble visuals that resonate closely with a demographic's interests.
The platform also allows exported clips to be selectively shared only to certain social profiles, geographic locations, or specific time periods through its direct social posting widgets. This targeting capability helps optimize reach.
In essence, no two users need to have the same video creation experience on Minvo. Its AI serves as a powerful assistant rather than a replacement for human judgment - ensuring videos connect authentically with their intended audiences through flexibility and custom layers.

V. Extensive Media Libraries

To further supplement users' creative control, Minvo provides an immense selection of premium media elements built-in right to the platform. This includes stock footage libraries, image collections, audio tracks and template styles.
The stock footage spans a vast array of categories covering lifestyle, nature, activities and concepts. Clips are sourced from professional vendors to ensure only high-production value HD/4K quality enters the library. Additionally, new footage is consistently added to keep up with the latest trends.
For sound, there is an exhaustive music collection spanning multiple genres, tones and lengths. Tracks are royalty-free and clear for use in both private and commercial videos. Extra audio clips like ambiance, SFX and voiceovers supplement the options.
Template styles give a head start on consistent visual identities. Dozens of pre-built templates exist covering various industries, holidays, events and video types. And everything from brochure templates to infographic templates provide robust graphic assets as well.
Perhaps most uniquely, Minvo also taps into user-generated content libraries. This allows businesses to leverage crowdsourced videos, pictures and edits uploaded voluntarily by other Minvo members under certain reuse permissions.
With this vast multi-tiered media ecosystem built right in, Minvo becomes a one-stop shop for all assets needed to consistently generate top-quality, visually interesting social videos with ease.

VI. Video Templates and Styles

One way Minvo streamlines the creative process is through its library of professionally-designed video templates and styles. These pre-built assets provide marketers a head start on concepting and outputting polished videos without designing from scratch.
Templates cover topics like:
  • Product demonstrations
  • How-to guides
  • Webinar replays
  • Service descriptions
  • Interview formats
  • Event recaps
  • Brand advertisements
Additional holiday, occasion and industry-specific templates are continuously added. Each incorporates recommended best practices for visual storytelling in its respective vertical.
Templates can also be easily customized. For example, users simply update slotted text overlays, swap stock videos/images, and tweak colors/fonts as needed for their own unique messaging. This allows cranking out multiple variations of videos following consistently structured story arcs.
Meanwhile, video styles supply professionally designed motion graphic themes in the spirit of common brand identities. Options include flat design, minimalism, retro vibes, luxury aesthetics and more. Each comes pre-programmed with title screens, transitions, lower thirds and end cards ready for direct implementation.
Together, templates and styles equip marketers creating video content for the first time with an instant creative starting point to develop branded, strategically formatted videos in just a few minutes of tweaking. Quality is ensured while learning curves flatten.

VII. Text-to-Video Generation

One especially unique capability of Minvo is its text-to-video feature which converts any written script or transcript into a ready-to-share video clip within seconds using AI. With this tool, marketers can expand their use of video beyond just uploading footage files.
The process works by taking blocks of text as input and analyzing them to determine optimal visual elements like graphics, stock videos, and animated text overlays needed to bring the words to life visually. Music, fonts, and even basic animations are auto-selected to match the overall tone and structure.
Advanced neural networks allow generating these video clips incredibly quickly while still maintaining coherence and visual interest throughout. For example, a 300-word blog post could be instantly transformed into a well-produced 60 second explainer reel using just the embedded text-to-video tool.
Savvy business owners are already using this groundbreaking capability:
  • Turn ebooks or reports into video courses
  • Promote blog articles or newsletters on social feeds
  • Animate presentations, speeches or itineraries
  • Create video sitemaps or tutorials from guides
  • Pitch products through automatically generated demonstrations
By unlocking a video format from written documents, text-to-video vastly expands opportunities for sharing information across new mediums and platforms seamlessly through Minvo's AI synthesis. It promises to change content creation as we know it.

VIII. Seamless Social Sharing

Once video clips are generated on Minvo, the goal is usually to propagate them across marketing channels for maximum exposure and engagement. To this end, the platform integrates tightly with all major social networks and tools.
Clips can be directly published to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and more with just one click. Professional looking previews are generated automatically for each network. Additionally, embedding codes are provided for easy sharing on blogs, emails and other off-platform locations.
For advanced scheduling, users can queue up batches of clips and specify precise publish times, allowing for round-the-clock “publishing” without needing to manually share each video. Post scheduling also factors in analytics like best days/times according to each channel and time zone.
Additional integrations exist with platforms like Hootsuite, Buffer and LinkedIn Company Page Post Creator for centralized social management. And with Minvo’s API, developers can build custom integrations too.
All in all, the sharing experience is designed to be as effortless as the creation process itself thanks to deep underlying integrations. This effectively places marketers’ AI-generated video arsenal directly into their cross-channel content distribution toolkit.

Major brands across diverse industries have successfully leveraged Minvo to power their video marketing strategies. Here are a few examples demonstrating real measured results:

2024.03.01 05:37 chelsiebachelor1 How to best handle this situation

Hello my fellow professors:
I hope all is well and hopefully you are getting ready for a nice spring break, I know I am. I am an adjunct professor who teaches an online Interpersonal Communication class over Zoom. I returned my students papers back and I got a rant email from one of my students who did not do so well on the assignment. I would say a majority got a B or an A, but this one student did not do well at all. He didn’t follow the assignment directions and it is clear as day he didn’t put any effort into this assignment, it was very poor to say the least. I did go over the assignment directions in detail in class numerous of times and my assignment directions were obviously clear as all students followed exactly what they were to do. He skipped on the day we went over the assignment and has never reached out to me or asked for help unlike other students.
He accused me of not providing good examples and that the examples did not meet the requirements of the assignment when they clearly did. He accused me of blindly importing my assignments and examples when that couldn’t be the farthest from the truth, I give good solid examples from students who have A papers and have meet all the standards. He also said that he speaks up in class but I don’t give him any feedback. He has never spoken up in class and he has actually skipped numerous of classes because he said he woke up late and didn’t feel like coming to class. I did attach the rubric and assignment again for him to look at and understand why he got the grade he did and provided another breakdown for him. I also showed him the examples again to help him see that they do meet the standards.
In his rant he did threaten to go to the dean which has me really scared. I do have all the proof and evidence to support me but I am at lost for what I should do. I am a 33 year old woman professor. He is a 45 year old male student who has admitted to having bipolar disorder and lashing out on people. He has lashed out in class before at me.
I am not really sure what to do in this situation. Should I go to the dean and have my proof to defend myself or should I wait it out and see if he actually goes to the dean like he claims?
I have included my email and his email for context to help you understand. He has not responded to my email so I am hoping he understands but it concerns me what he will do. Did I respond appropriately to his email? If you have any advice or suggestions that would be great because to be completely honest, I am really shook up right now and I am not sure what to do.
Thank you everyone for your helpful advice as always.
His email:
Dr,
By the way I looked at your examples and they are not in proper APA format, they don’t reference any class material. If you want a student to succeed you should be providing examples that actually reflect your requirements. I’m not trying to be rude, but up front and honest. I’m sure if I took this assignment, the examples and the requirements and went to the dean you, the dean would not be impressed here either. I’m sure you wanted more effort from me on this, and I feel the same way about yours. I’m not expecting a better grade, but an improvement in Canvas, how assignment should be presented (not just blindingly imported). I also have tried speaking up in class and I don’t get any type of feedback other than the words “ok anybody else”??? It’s not exactly why I have tried to.be the guy who actually speaks up first and literally breaks the ice for you. Please help me, by making a change in effort and I will give you back an equal amount of effort.
My email back (I edited the message after you all gave me great advice about not apologizing)
Thank you for your message. For starters, the examples that I have provided are in APA. I have attached one of the examples so you can see. As you can see from the example the student does cite the source in proper APA format. You are correct in that the other two examples do not cite a source. However, no paper is perfect completely. I am trying to show students examples of good solid papers to help them understand what I am expecting. However, bearing in mind that no paper is perfect. I provided a helpful resource module on Canvas that goes over how to use APA in-depth. I also clearly stated in the assignment that you were to cite any sources used in APA and I have highlighted in the assignment sheet that expectation. I would be more than happy in the future to review your future assignments to help ensure that it is meeting all requirements, including APA. We can also schedule a meeting as well to ensure I can get you on the right foot.
The examples that I have provided do provide concepts from the text, such as self-awareness, self-concept and other key concepts that are in the text. The assignment sheet and rubric clearly outline that you needed to use concepts from the text in your reflection. I have highlighted this expectation on the assignment sheet and rubric for you to see. I have also highlighted where the concepts are at in the examples. Again, the examples clearly use concepts from the text as required for the assignment. As stated earlier, I am here to help you and would be glad to meet with you in the future to ensure you can effectively complete your assignments. I am here to help support you in the best way I can.
In terms of your Johari Windows, you needed to create two Johari Windows. You were not to condense them and I did not say to do this on the assignment sheet or in class when I went over the assignment. I have attached the assignment sheet that has the rubric on it. I have highlighted in yellow and if you will notice you were to have created two Johari Windows not condense them. I also mentioned this in class too. Please come to me in the future if you are lost as I certainly want you to do the assignment correctly. As a college professor I expect that you will come to me if you need help but it is your job as the student to make that effort to see me. I can’t help you if you don’t come to me. I want to help and ensure you succeed. Failure is not an option, success is in my class but in order to achieve success you need to communicate with me so I can help you be successful.
One suggestion I do have for you is to make sure you are reading the examples and assignments carefully a few times. It might even be helpful to read the assignment directions and examples out loud to help you better understand what you need to do. The fact that you missed the second Johari Window that you needed to do and did not include any concepts from the text makes me concerned that you may not have read the assignment directions or examples clearly. I would also suggest after reading the assignment to come to me with questions so I can help you. I don’t want to be lost or confused but it is important to read things through clearly and come to me so I can help you be successful.
I do also want to assure you that I don’t just blindly import assignments or examples. I do select examples that are from exceptional students who have shown very good work. I try my deepest as an instructor to ensure that all my students succeed and put their best forth forward. I provide examples to help student see what they need to do and what they are expected to do. Many of my students have found these examples very helpful and as a result have done very well in both the course and their assignments.
I have not heard you speak up often in class. My apologies if I may have missed you, however, I have rarely heard you speak up first or at all. I am hearing impaired and also visually impaired, sometimes it is difficult for me to always see and hear who is talking. I am never trying to be rude and do care about what you have to say. I care about you as a student and person. Your success means more than anything to me as an instructor and I really do value and care about you as a person. If you could, could you please talk louder, sometimes I miss students when their mics are soft. I have noticed your microphone is quite soft and it might help if you turn your mic up to ensure I can hear you and to give you feedback on what you have shared.
I do need to mention that I am a little concerned about your attendance. You missed two classes already and you are only allowed to miss three according to the attendance policy in the syllabus. After three absences your grade goes down by three percent. I hope you can put more effort in by showing up to class and actively participating throughout. Missing class only causes you to miss out on content and really affects your learning in success. I care very deeply about you as a student and want you to succeed and I hope you will do your part in attending class so you can get the best benefit from my class. In college it is very important to attend class regularly to ensure you can get the most optimal learning and I hope you keep this in mind in the future.
In the future please do come to me if you need help and if you need clarification on the assignment. I am always here to help you and support you however I cannot do that if you don’t come to me. I do care about you and your success and the last thing I want is for you to fail. I want you to do well. I hope you will come to me from now on so I can help you to ensure you can succeed to the best of your abilities. I hope this helps and I hope I was able to provide further clarification. If you would like to schedule a meeting with me, please let me know. Seeing your message makes me think it would be a great idea for us to schedule a meeting. Please let me know what time works best for you so we can meet and I can provide further clarification and understanding. I hope we can help get things cleared up further to ensure that you can succeed in the course. I look forward to talking with you soon

2024.02.25 03:42 SwissCheese4Collagen Nostrils McBeardsley Power Hour Season 2 Episode 3 Fahrenheit 450-something CAMPFIRE Q&A: Will We Read JILL'S BOOK, The IBLP, Austin's Beard!

Okey dokie my little snarky gnocchis, let’s get to the McBeardsley review of Mic Dropped!: A Memoir wherein Jilly Nose Ring, Countess Gagula aired her dirty laundry concerning Sperm. Our favorite prolific vlogger also goes over what she and Nostrils believe as far as IBLP and facial hair. They use the Field footage showing the Sneeze of Nostrils frolicking in beige across a field at sunset. Episode 1 Season 2 Premiere This does follow a Q&A format which can get tedious but I’ll zshush it up best I can.
The McBeardlseys have set up around a campfire for this Q&A, and have taken advantage of their fellow campers, as seen in Episode 4, to baby sit while this vlog is shot. But before we get to that, they show us a montage of footage of them interacting with their children. Austina holds a net while OfNostrils explains something about fishing with a net I assume, and Nostrils, compete with snazzy fishing vest, helps Giddy-Up with a brightly colored kid’s fishing pole.
Next, we see all of them sitting in front of a campfire, OfNostrils holds A.G. while Nostrils holds Giddy-Up in his lap. Austina sits in her own chair as OfNostrils holds a microphone to her and asks questions. What either of them say is for an expert lip reader because they have some bland track playing over the spoken audio. One more scene of the Sneeze sitting along a brick wall eating ice cream. The exception is A.G. who is gumming his mother’s arm. That ends the intro and they get into the Q&A portion.
Austina and Giddy-Up vanish, presumably to be watched by the fellow Nostrils’ family members. A.G. reclines on his mother’s lap as she simultaneously holds a phone and comically small microphones. Nostrils uses both hands to hold the dainty recording device as OfNostrils explains that the questions were posted and there is a link in their stories. It’s really cute she thinks we care about the questions she randomly rejected. Nostrils tells her to only pick the good ones, and she tells him that “you don’t get to pick, I get to pick”. She then gives the instructions for word association or a Rorschach test instead of a Q&A when she tells him to say whatever comes to mind. Even Nostrils is self-aware enough to state that this is a dangerous idea. OfNostrils ignores this and plows on, scrolling rapidly to the bottom of her list of questions because there are a lot. So many that she says there are “literally so many”. She comes to the first question she will deign to answer which is “What type of Christianity do you follow?” What is fundamental Christianity? Oh, wait, this isn’t J’eopardy. Nostrils does do the Spelling Bee classic of thinking for a couple of beats and then repeating the question. If he asks for a definition I’m going to be over here laughing my ass off. Either way, Austina has been randomly zooming in and out of the background on her way to spend a little time off-camera. Nostrils thinks and finally says that since they follow the Bible, they are “Bible Believing Christians”. Insert obligatory Does Anybody Here Beeeelieeeve It. OfNostrils says they follow Jesus alone, and Nostrils adds “we don’t follow a man”. Hate to break it to ya Slick, but Jesus was a man, and Jesus was never alone because he was simultaneously One with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Well, at least that’s true if you believe what the Bible says. Then Nostrils goes on to say that they attend a Baptist church because it’s the closest doctrine to theirs. Headships gonna headship at the First Church of Doctrinal Winging It. As OfNostrils picks the next question, Nostrils states he needs a little clip to clip the mic to his beard. He better not let Austina hear that, she will probably go get him one. OfNostrils nixes this idea and moves on to the next question.
The next question is asking if Nostrils is still flipping houses. If they had tuned into the previous episode, Episode 2 What Does The Nostril DO?, they would know that he just builds them now but he sticks to an extremely vague, yet run-on answer of “no, not as a business, not to get paid, I help family and friends.” OfNostrils goes on to state the next question of “How many children do they want?” OfNostrils says she feels like she answers this every Q&A session and that’s because you were raised in and are still associated with a fertility cult that is doctrinally closest to Baptist. Anywhoo, she goes on to say it’s always the same answer. This surprises Nostrils and he asks what her answer is. Does he think he’s cute when he plays dumb? They’ve discussed this before. They always say 4. OfNostrils says “ I don’t know, I don’t feel done. We’ve always said 4 or 5” she then says that “always” was a lie because with each kid they lower the number. It would seem that she is realizing why she existed in a house with sister-moms. She begins to wax poetic about who they admire as parents and more importantly the parent’s relationship with God, le sigh, they will "have a peace and feel done”. Which is how they explain knowing it’s time to leave on The Good Place. That appears to be the whole of their plan, unlike her parents who conceived and birthed a hoard of J’Locusts on the planet and if they ever felt any peace about being done, never said it out loud. Nostrils says that they are both open to another one because A.G. has been the best baby. OfNostrils thinks that the first year is the easiest part of having a kid. She adds on that they get older and “the daily raising, being consistent, all the things”. She’s done with this topic and moving on with handing off A.G. to Nostrils since he is more in the shade than she is. OfNostrils comments that A.G. is tired but continues to film her vlogisode. Fuck this kid and his nap, she has questions to answer. Or not, OfNostrils says they have a video of how they met somewhere so they shouldn’t answer it now. I’m pretty sure it’s TLC footage. Next question finally gets okayed and it is “have you considered moving out of Arkansas?”. OfNostrils is left hanging as Nostrils decides he would actually rather get the kid to sleep than answer a bunch of inane, repetitive questions. OfNostrils pointedly says “this is for both of us, I guess.” Nostrils finally says they’ve thought about it “but not…” before OfNostrils jumps in and says that she wouldn’t is because although their families and friends are there, the main reason is their church. I guess it must have read Nostril’s mind and gotten 99% of their doctrine if they’re that attached to a church they don’t really subscribe to. Nostrils jumps in and says that it’s also the fact that he has an established business in Arkansas. Just remember, he isn’t renovating or flipping anymore. Unless you’re friends or family. OfNostrils mentions he can do construction anywhere, and if God says they’re moving, they will. Other than that, she hasn’t lived anywhere else and fair point. But she wants to go through the hypothetical and says that if they were going to choose, it would have to be “Texas, no?”. “No, probably out west”, Nostrils comments before turning his attention to A.G.
A clumsy cut seems like a great place to start a new paragraph. OfNostrils sits with her phone and mic as Nostrils lays A.G. with sun on the back of the sleeping baby’s head. Three people get chosen to have their question of whether or not they are IBLP shown on screen. “We never were”, answers Nostrils. They both go on to clarify they mean after their marriage they weren’t IBLP. They “distanced themselves” by saying that they weren’t going to use functions or literature. They both say “voila” and that they have their own relationship with the Lord. That just sounds like Lutheranism with extra steps. Next question is if they are choosing to name all of their boys “G” names. Nostrils says no, and OfNostrils said that when A.G. was born they had two names and she was determined to name him Bowman James, which…okay, at least that name is a noun and not a verb…as Nostrils says they should have named him “Grunter” as he makes hungry fussy baby sounds. OfNostrils loudly continues on to say that they didn’t even realize they had the same initial until after they had “already wrote his name down on the birth certificate. Nostrils has handed the fussing A.G. back to OfNostrils who decides she can take a break to feed the baby. A cut to a nursing cover appearing on OfNostrils as Nostrils takes over reading the questions. Nostrils asks if his wife is going to read Mic Dropped: A Memoir. OfNostrils remembers yeeting the Bible the day her real mother announced that Isruhl was on the way and excitedly says she will. I wonder if she is going to audiobook it instead of read it but she still says she will. She read Jingle’s book, she will read Jilly Nose Ring’s. Nostrils breaks the 4th wall, looks into the camera and asks “if someone wrote a book about your family would you read it? Duh, yeah”. Mmm, 90’s called bro, they didn’t authorize you to remove that antique from the archives. Nostrils drags out his best MySpace Confucius meme to say “The answer is in the question”. OfNostrils pops back into the conversation and says she wants to know what her sister has to say. Nostrils relishes his spot as Question asker, and finds one that he also would like his wife to answer. Tbh, I’m no better than her in this respect, I don’t know where I would want to go on a dream vacation either. Apparently this is because Nostrils wants to go on a big vacation for their 10th anniversary, and is jumping the gun according to OfNostrils since they have only just passed their 6th anniversary. Nostrils soon finds himself defending his question as OfNostrils powers over him to say that he was going to say “Babe I’m so frustrated you didn’t tell me what you wanted to do for our 10th”. Her math skills come into play as she defends her position of “it’s 5 years away” to which Nostrils corrects her it is 4 years away. OfNostrils says she still doesn’t know and this is where I am better than her because I would take the opportunity to edit this part out. Nostrils counters with it’s 3 and a half years and I’m going to laugh so hard if they can’t go on a big trip because they “don’t feel done” having kids. Either way OfNostrils demands time to think about it because that’s a big deal. 10 years is so special in fact, that she still doesn’t know. She decides to ponder it out on screen. She would like a cruise, maybe and Alaskan cruise. Or just Alaska, she liked that trip last year. She realizes as they were making this vlog that it was a year to the day that they left for the Alaska trip where Nostrils shot a bear. She says it was phenomenal. Easy there Calamity Jane. She says they were in Juneau area and she would love to go back to the northern and “enterior” portions of the state. Nostrils doesn’t write down her answer when she says that’s probably what she wants to do for their 10th. Nostrils goes on to say that he has a good question and proceeds to ask “what does it mean to put God first in your home?” As OfNostrils reiterates that it is a good question, I have to wonder if he chose it because it gave him a way to expand on “their doctrine”, and where the Deer God fits in. After hemming and hawing about who would use what words, she finally settles on “purposing to make my home a place that’s pleasing to the Lord” which is just God-honoring word salad. She adds in some sanctified croutons and bacon bits as she says that a place where she can raise her kids to learn about the Lord. She finishes it off with saying that it’s not what they do, it’s their relationship with the Lord and their heart towards him that matters, and consistency inside and outside of the home is important. As she blathers on about how she’s the same at church and home and the gas station and when she is stirring the mac and cheese, Nostrils jumps in and says it’s keeping God in “the forefront” and making conscious decisions to do more Godly things. He lists off going to church (that is the closest they can find to their doctrine, remember?), doing outreach (aka mission /ministry trips) and that God is not an afterthought. OfNostrils jumps in to add that they get inconsistent in different seasons of their life and they need to work on that. Did their pastor submit that one? OfNostrils realizes she interrupted Nostrils and instead of asking him what he was going to say, she continues on about how she appreciates Nostrils’ consistency. Before anyone can ask, not that we were, OfNostrils gives an example of Giddy-Up getting hurt when he was 3 and Nostrils’ first instinct was “why don’t we pray and ask God that he’ll kill heal this”. The captions take some liberties but OfNostrils says that she can’t really remember what the issue was. Apparently, this was a “little way God cares” about their kids and that they can’t take God for granted. She slaps the word salad spinner one more time to get a repeat of how they asked God to heal it. The moral of the story is that by the next morning, Giddy-Up felt fine and said that “God answered my prayers”. OfNostrils thinks it’s good that Giddy-Up is “noticing and realizing God cares about us”. Well, I mean you gaslit the kid into thinking that God was his body healing itself from something so minor, his mother can’t even remember what the injury was. This answer comes to a blathering end as Nostrils gets to the real questions of if she likes his beard. She said she does love his beard but “do I love it for 2 years? Not really” as Nostrils jumps in with a “waittaminute-stop right there” and repeats her first sentence where she loves it. He thinks there is nothing to add or take away (subtract, you’re looking for subtract) from that statement. Anyone wanna bet he does things like this when they’re picking what to believe or not believe in their own doctrine? As OfNostrils tries to state what she doesn’t like about The Beard, Nostrils continues on to the next question, ironically or fittingly the question is “what is y’all’s key to a successful marriage”. Obviously, the basis of their relationship is The Beard. OfNostrils lets loose with an “oh my word!” to try and have her piece said. OfNostrils finally gets to say that “I like you to change things up just like you like me to change things up”…whatever the everliving fuck that means. OfNostrils takes advantage of Nostrils scrolling for a new question and says that there was a deal he could have the beard for one year and it has been two. She goes on to say that she has threatened to shave it while he is sleeping but that she hasn’t because he said he will shave her eyebrows off while she is sleeping and she believes him. OfNostrils doesn’t miss a beat as she asks “what did you say about marriage?”. Y’all. This shit writes itself some days. Nostrils leaves OfNostrils hanging as he takes f-o-r-e-v-e-r to answer his wife with “what is y’all’s key to a successful marriage. Since it’s not the beard, and it’s not mutually assured destruction via nocturnal buzz clippers, I actually do kinda wanna see what bullshit they pull out of their ass this time. They have lit a fire and smoke flies at the screen like it’s That 70s Show and they’re in the smoking circle. The McBeardsleys would never be that cool though and OfNostrils proves she is strangely wise when she says they are not the ones to ask because they are so young. She also says it's about “choosing” as Nostrils interrupts about a podcast. OfNostrils says every other word with her husband, and adds in a “shhh” at one of the kids as Nostrils tries to remember the names Jason and Tori Benham. OfNostrils remembers the facts and Nostrils remembers that it was really good. OfNostrils agrees and puts her stamp of approval on his assessment. Nostrils goes on to say that it was “challenging”, that you can’t let life and kids and everything else get in the way of your focusing on your marriage. As if to underline his words, a child cries and another one babbles off screen. OfNostrils adds in to his “fight, fight fight for your marriage” that they fight face to face, not shoulder to shoulder or back to back like Roman centurions or some shit. This is exactly what the enemy wants them to do, like someone’s just always ready to attack their marriage and rip them apart? Either way, OfNostrils says that she appreciates how quickly Nostrils apologizes, which surprises people and that she loves how he is specific in his apologies. The humility is hot to her as is admitting when you’re wrong. She hastily adds in “it’s giving grace to each other too b/c Jeezus saved sinners”.
We have wrangled up all the children, Giddy-Up is on Nostrils’ lap, A.G. is on OfNostrils lap and Austina is on her own chair. Giddy-Up gets the first question. It is “do you like swimming lessons?” He rapidly responds yes, and is given a follow-up of “what did you learn at swimming lessons?”. He waits and says he learned how to swim. OfNostrils repeats his answer and proceeds with “can you swim in a straight line…” as Giddy-Up gets the mic held up for him by his father to reply “yes”. OfNostrils directs Nostrils to straighten up so Giddy-Up is more upright. She then yells Austina’s name and asks what her favorite song is. Austina replies “Blippi” but demurs when asked to sing it. She changes her answer to Cocomelon, and gives an indiscernible answer as Nostrils suggests the “Hello New Friend” and Austina replies “yeah, that one.” OfNostrils demands Austina sing the song and she does, using A.G. as the New Friend’s name. OfNostrils deems it a fun song as the questions turn back to Giddy-Up and what he has been learning at Bible Time. Giddy-Up slides down and around until he is lounging sideways but doesn’t have the answer. Austina stage whispers “Hiram”, earning her mother’s attention as OfNostrils says “King Hiram”. OfNostrils says no, what king?” This leads Austina to whisper guess both “David” and “King Solomon”, the latter of which is right. OfNostrils asks Austina what King Solomon was building, and she replies “temples”, so OfNostrils thinks of another question. Austina’s going to be taking over SOTBEOTKI curriculum because she’s bored and her educator is not educated. Nostrils jumps in to ask what King Solomon’s wives told him. Austina answers assuredly “take him away!”, a statement which gets a laugh from her father and a “well, no” from her mother. Since her brothers don’t laugh either I’m going to say “tough room, kid.” OfNostrils plows on with “did they say there was one God?” “No, a lot of gods” says Austina. She keeps her right answer streak alive when she says there is only 1 God. We get it, you’re monotheists who believe the Bible is literal. Giddy-Up gets his last question of “what is your favorite joke?” Giddy-Up says “VBS” and I am on the floor howling because I bet their VBS was a joke. OfNostrils leaves it at that with a brisk ”okay” before she tries again and asks if he knows any jokes. Giddy-Up replies “Sir laugh a lot”. OfNostrils says “oh he told jokes” and that he still has one more question. Stop moving the damn goalposts on the kid, damn. Austina’s final question is what she wants to be when she gets older and the answer is “umm a princess?”. When her parents tell her she already is, she says she isn’t and they clarify that she can only be a princess when she is bigger. OfNostrils calls a merciful end to this session by having Austina say a thank you for the questions and she jumps up and smacks the camera as her mother tells her to say “hi” and “five”, she takes another whack before the screen cuts to black and we are reminded to Like & Subscribe which, nope. Nice try.
That puts a bow on this episode of The Nostrils McBeardsley Power Hour everyone. I know the Q&A ones are tedious but I can’t do much with them. There’s not much spare material to work with when crafting the snark but it’s another one crossed off the back vlog. Have a great day and a better tomorrow, Snarkers!
