It would be stupid to say SSLP is “underrated” given that it is considered by the vast majority of fans to be a classic and in Em’s top 3 albums. But I do generally see it ranking below the other big ones, almost always below MMLP and TES and sometimes even below MMLP2 or Relapse. I genuinely think SSLP should be a contender for his best album, at least more in the discussion, because I really see it as a perfect encapsulation of Em’s skill in all ways and it is maybe his rawest, most straightforward album overall.
Firstly, the lack of bad songs - there’s literally no song on this album I would say I think is “bad” - even the lesser-spoken of ones like Cum on Everybody are still fun listens and don’t feel out of place or awkward. More importantly, though, the album is such a great demonstration of so many amazing aspects of Eminem: some of his best storytelling in 97’ Bonnie and Clyde, Brain Damage, or My Fault. Obviously perfect slim shady classics which barely even need to be named (My Name Is, Role Model, JDGAF, SDGAF, I’m Shady, etc). And even still, the album has some downbeat reality like If I Had and of course Rock Bottom, one of his best songs ever imo.
The album overall is just a really fantastic collection of that era/style that feels totally consistent and diverse at the same time. I don’t think it’s easily his best work by miles or anything, but I think it deserves some more respect than I see it get a lot of the time.

Saying that I love Bonnie would be an understatement. I've been a huge advocate of her ever since her release, mainly due to her character and also the fact that I just really like playing her.
Unfortunately, Bonnie is suffering right now. Ever since hypercharges and her most recent nerf, she has seen a massive fall off in the meta, even after her recent buffs which made people briefly think Bonnie was OP, it didn't take long for people to realize the fact that she still has many weaknesses (Not to mention the fact that she was only picked once throughout April and May monthly finals). She is ranked fairly low on tier lists because of this. Additionally Bonnie is widely considered by many players to be a forgettable, boring brawler that is just a sniper that is less skilled. I don't really see her as this at all, but it feels that I'm in the minority here considering the fact that she's one of the least used brawlers, and has been for a really long time (This website shows that her use rates are really bad.
I frankly do think that the concept of Bonnie's gameplay is really awesome, but it is simply too flawed as of right now. After having some discussion with some people, watching pro player's gameplay and opinions, and just general gameplay experience, I've complied two major problems that Bonnie is suffering with right now, and why I think these problems cause Bonnie to be as unpopular as she is. I'll also propose changes to try and fix them.
This post will be a long one. Mainly because I know people will look at this post and will be stunned at the amount of the changes I am giving to her. I need to try to justify myself as much as possible to at least convince people where my points are coming from. Here is a list of sections that you guys can skip to if you don't feel like reading the whole thing:

1) Her starpower problem:

Bonnie has, in my opinion one of the worst set starpowers I have ever seen in this entire game, from a design standpoint at least. Allow me to discuss why.
Let's start with black powder. This starpower makes Bonnie's super range go from 7.33 tiles, to 10 tiles.
I hate this starpower design wise for two reasons. The first reason is the fact that she's too reliant on this starpower. 7.33 is an absolutely abysmal range for Bonnie's super. To put it into perspective, that range is only 0.66 tiles than the range of an Edgar super.
It's worth noting that a Bonnie super has her in the air for a total of 0.3 seconds longer than an Edgar super, making it easier to get away from. Edgar also has the benefit of having more health, the ability to life steal, the ability to gain extra movement speed boost from the super, faster reload, and the fact that he is capable of cycling supers better. Bonnie does have the benefit of having higher damage from both her attack and super, and also a lot more range, but due to the spread of her attack, it is hard to get optimal damage from non melee distance distance. I'll touch more on her melee form in a bit btw.

There's also the fact that a long ranged jump just fits Bonnie a lot more than a mid ranged jump. Clyde is long ranged, meaning that you tend to play him on mostly open lanes, which also means that you tend to fight enemies that have ranges on par with her. Having a mid ranged jump that doesn't even provide her further mobility just gets her easily outranged by the brawlers she fights against.
Finally, this starpower is just a basic as hell stat buff. Sure, there are a ton of stat buff starpowers, but that doesn't make this one any more interesting. Black Powder is just a waste of a starpower slot and really should be baseline.
The second starpower is wisdom tooth. Let's be real here, this starpower is so bad, that it's not even funny. The split projectiles are tiny and go such a short distance that it's basically impossible to hit anyone with those things. Even if you do, you only deal 525 damage, less damage than a non Mecha Meg projectile. The fact that this starpower works on walls is honestly cool conceptually, but it's extremely niche and still heavily suffers from the damage and range problem. There's a reason this starpower is a meme and widely considered to be one of the worst starpowers the game has ever seen.
The purpose of starpowers are to expand on a brawler's kit. They're supposed to promote an already existing play style of a brawler or to add a new type of playstyle for that brawler. Rico is a good example of how starpower design should be. Super bouncy promotes Rico's play style of bouncing shots on walls, whereas robo retreat adds a new play style in the form of risky mobility, the player now has to decide if they want to be very fast, but probably die in very few hits, or if they prefer to play it safe and just have full health.
Bonnie is so reliant on black powder that it really feels like that starpower is more so a requirement to use Bonnie, rather than something that promotes her gameplay style. Wisdom tooth on the other hand attempts to add a new playstyle to Bonnie, in the form of hitting walls to poke enemies, but it's so poorly executed because of the range of the split shots as well as the pitiful damage. Bonnie honestly feels like she doesn't really have any starpowers, which is probably one reason why people don't find her kit interesting.
Alright, so now that I've covered why Bonnie's starpowers are a flop in the design department, I'm now going to go over the second problem Bonnie suffers with, and why I believe that problem causes Bonnie to be regarded by many to be unspecial.
2) her melee form problem
Something I really like about Bonnie, is that she is based on two forms that are naturally weaker than other brawlers, and you have to utilize both to their fullest potential and cycle between the forms well in order to play her optimally. Sadly, I think they went too far with her melee form. It's just far too weak for what it does.
The biggest problem with the melee form is how frail it is. All the form has is 6000 HP. Especially in this day and age, 6000 HP is abysmal. Like, that's the same amount of HP as Angelo, who is a sniper. Brawlers like Kit, Mortis, Gene and Gus have gotten damage buffs that have caused them to 3 shot Bonnie's melee form. Highlighting the main issue with it.
It's also worth noting the fact that her melee form has zero abilities that improve her survivability. She has no shields nor healing abilities. Sure, shield gear can be used on her, but even 6900 feels low to justify sacrificing a gear slot.
Then we have the attack. The range of the attack is above average for a melee brawler, and the burst and damage potential of the attack is good. Although unless you're right on top of an enemy it's pretty easy to miss a few projectiles. While people say the attack does feel clunky to use, I don't mind it too much as it does feel satisfying and skilful if you hit all three shots. One thing about the attack is that the reload speed is very slow, literally 2 seconds, this basically makes Bonnie easily able to lack ammo, making her vulnerable.
Regardless, Bonnie's melee form is really weak, and because of that, it's hard to get good supers out of it. While yes, if an enemy is alone and vulnerable then it's a free kill, but recently it seems that smart enemies know how to counter Bonnie's super, simply by staying near each other, conserving ammo and CC abilities, or using their mobility to move away from her. This makes it really hard to kill multiple enemies with a Bonnie super, unless they are low on health and or lack ammo.
But let's say you were to get a kill with the super. Because of the severe lack of survivability, people just find using her melee form for pressure to be way too risky. Admittedly, on specific maps you can use walls, bushes and the positioning from the super in order to try and get value from that. I've had success with this before and it felt so much fun. It's just that for the most part, you either die super quickly with the melee form, or you end up just camping to get back to Clyde form, the latter of which provides zero pressure at all.
Because of this, it leads to Bonnie's identity to be much worse than what it's supposed to be. The purpose of Bonnie is meant to be a switcher brawler that you relied on you to do well with two different gameplay styles in order to have success with her. But because of the two problems that Bonnie has, people just look at Bonnie as a basic sniper that can jump on people. People just use her super in the most basic of ways, it's why people say Heist is Bonnie's best mode, they just use her super to dive into the heist safe. Knockout is the only other mode that people really use her in, and that's mainly just to use her super as either a kill confirm or a kill trade, even the Brawl Stars Esports Casters are aware of this. This reminds me of a brawler like Gus, where the average person just used him for the most basic of purpose, rather than using Gus the way supercell intended you to use him, mainly because of the poor execution of his kit.
It's a real shame, because the occasional moments where I do manage to pressure well with my melee form, while also doing well with Clyde are really fun and what reminds me of the potential that she has. It's just that her potential is so limited simply because her melee form is too weak to reliably go aggro with, so people just don't really have fun with her and think her kit is really basic. :(

Rework

Alright, now I have given the two biggest problems that Bonnie suffers with, I am now going to be reworking Bonnie. This rework attempts to fix these two problems. Before you guys say "Oh, just wait for a hypercharge". I find as though that it will take a while for her hypercharge to actually release, simply because she has two different supers and the fact that both forms have a different method of charging a super. I could be fully wrong but I won't be surprised if she is one of the last brawlers to get one. So this rework will not factor in hypercharges. Got that? Good! Let's go then.
The first change I'd like to do is to buff the base stats of her melee form. Again, they are just abysmally low right now, so I find that they need to be improved.
Bonnie's base health will be increased from 6000HP to 6600HP. She is just way too frail rn, so I feel an HP buff is warranted. It can allow her to be more aggressive.
Bonnie's reload speed will be decreased from 2.0 seconds to 1.8 seconds. This change is done to increase her overall dps. Making it feel less punishing for missing a shot with her.
Now come the starpower changes. Both BlackPowder and WisdomTooth will be replaced by completely new starpowers. Bonnie's base super range will now be increased to 9.33 tiles, which is only slightly less than her super range with BlackPowder, and actually the same range as her Clyde attack.
Alright, it is time for me to talk about what should be her new first starpower. What this starpower will do is that it will grant Bonnie a 20% shield for 10 seconds if her assassin form were to get a kill on an enemy.
This starpower attempts to solve the issue of melee Bonnie being too fragile to pressure after assassinating the enemy, This shield, along with the HP buff, makes Bonnie's equivalent HP go from 6000 to 7920, which as you can tell, is a massive improvement. It's worth noting the fact that you only get the shield by actually securing a kill, meaning that your super can still be fairly easily outplayed. But the shield, along with Bonnie's very fast movement speed and map cover, should allow Bonnie to be more successfully useable in her melee form after securing the kill.
The second starpower will actually be a very experimental and ambitious idea, but I also find it to be a really cool concept for Bonnie, as it is built around her form switching gimmick.
What this starpower does is that anytime Bonnie uses any one of her supers. She will gain a permanent damage buff. (7%) This stacks with itself, meaning that if you use the super, survive with the form, and then activate Clyde super, then Clyde will now have a 20% damage buff. This damage buff caps out at 35% though. This resets after she dies.
This certainly sounds like an ambitious idea especially considering the fact that a permanent 35% damage buff on any brawler would be busted as all hell. But it takes a lot of build up in order to the absurdly high damage levels. It creates a very interesting risk reward dynamic with Bonnie. If you're too aggressive with Bonnie, then what will happen is that you'll potentially die, and lose the damage buff, but if you play too passively, then you won't utilize the damage buff to the fullest, and won't have pressured as much as you could've done if you played more aggressively. It's also worth noting that if you manage to let Bonnie survive long enough to get a high enough damage buff, then it's kind of on the player for letting Bonnie ramp up in the first place. This starpower is closely similar to field promotion in a way, where it gradually ramps up a brawler's stats, until they die.
Alright, so now I managed to create two starpowers that attempt to improve an aspect of Bonnie's kit. With the first one improving her melee form overall, whereas the second one encourages a player to utilize more of her switching mechanic.
The first star power will generally be more consistent and less risky to use. Having a shield will allow the player to utilize a much more aggressive playstyle with Bonnie, and actually get value out of the assassin form after killing the enemy.
On the other hand, the second starpower promotes a more defensive gameplay style in the form of ramping it. That doesn't mean it doesn't allow Bonnie to be more aggressive though, it's just that it takes more effort to build up enough power to have an effect that contests with her other starpower. I feel like this starpower can be fun, with skilled players absolutely dominating the game should they manage to play well enough to cycle enough supers.
Now, I'm not done with the rework yet. I also want to tinker her gadgets a little bit. As much like her starpowers, they're heavily unbalanced. But unlike her starpowers, I don't find them fundamentally garbage, so I'll just give them state changes.
Sugar Rush gets a nerf from 30% for 5 seconds, to 20% for 3.5 seconds. This nerf sounds harsh, but with the large amount of buffs and new abilities I have given Bonnie, I feel like this is warranted.
Crash test gets a distance buff from 2 tiles to 3 tiles. This should allow it to hit enemies more often.

Conclusion:

Wow, that post was a long one wasn't it? Not many people really talk about Bonnie nor go into her kit this deeply. Even if you find my reworks to be a terrible idea for whatever reason, I hope you can at least understanding as to why Bonnie should be buffed in the first place, and the direction that Supercell should take when doing this.
Bonnie isn't really one of the worst brawlers in the game and I haven't really seen people talk about this much, so I tried my best to describe her problems in as much detail as possible to hopefully get you to understand my reasoning.
Hopefully, Supercell manages to fix these two issue with Bonnie, I really do think she has potential to be a very fun brawler by most players, but she was just executed poorly. I mean, I still find her fun overall, I'll always love Bonnie, but damn. It's a shame to see one of my favourite brawlers in a state like this. Oh well, thank you guys so much for reading my post. I could be fully wrong but I won't be surprised if she is one of the last brawlers to get one. So this rework will not factor in hypercharges. Got that? Good! Let's go then.
The first change I'd like to do is to buff the base stats of her melee form. I'm not going to go overboard on this, simply because of other changes I will get into later.
Bonnie's base health will be increased from 6000HP to 6600HP. She is just way too frail rn, so I feel an HP buff is warranted. It can allow her to be more aggressive.
Bonnie's reload speed will be decreased from 2.0 seconds to 1.8 seconds. This change is done to increase her overall dps. Making it feel less punishing for missing a shot with her.
Now come the starpower changes. Both BlackPowder and WisdomTooth will be replaced by completely new starpowers. Bonnie's base super range will now be increased to 9.33 tiles, which is only slightly less than her super range with BlackPowder, and actually the same range as her Clyde attack.
Alright, it is time for me to talk about what should be her new first starpower. What this starpower will do is that it will grant Bonnie a 20% shield for 10 seconds if her assassin form were to get a kill on an enemy.
This starpower attempts to solve the issue of melee Bonnie being too fragile to pressure after assassinating the enemy, This shield, along with the HP buff, makes Bonnie's equivalent HP go from 6000 to 7920, which as you can tell, is a massive improvement. It's worth noting the fact that you only get the shield by actually securing a kill, meaning that your super can still be fairly easily outplayed. But the shield, along with Bonnie's very fast movement speed and map cover, should allow Bonnie to be more successfully useable in her melee form after securing the kill.
Now the second starpower will actually be very experimental and ambitious, but I also find it to be a really cool concept for Bonnie, as it is built around her form switching gimmick.
What this starpower does is that anytime Bonnie uses any one of her supers. She will gain a permanent damage buff. (7%) This stacks with itself, meaning that if you use the super, survive with the form, and then activate Clyde super, then Clyde will now have a 20% damage buff. This damage buff caps out at 35% though. This resets after she dies.
This certainly sounds like an ambitious idea especially considering the fact that a permanent 35% damage buff on any brawler would be busted as all hell. But it takes a lot of build up in order to the absurdly high damage levels. It creates a very interesting risk reward dynamic with Bonnie. If you're too aggressive with Bonnie, then what will happen is that you'll potentially die, and lose the damage buff, but if you play too passively, then you won't utilize the damage buff to the fullest, and won't have pressured as much as you could've done if you played more aggressively. It's also worth noting that if you manage to let Bonnie survive long enough to get a high enough damage buff, then it's kind of on the player for letting Bonnie ramp up in the first place. This starpower is closely similar to field promotion in a way, where it gradually ramps up a brawler's stats, until they die.
Alright, so now I managed to create two starpowers that attempt to improve an aspect of Bonnie's kit. With the first one improving her melee form overall, whereas the second one encourages a player to utilize more of her switching mechanic.
The first star power will generally be more consistent and less risky to use. Having a shield will allow the player to utilize a much more aggressive playstyle with Bonnie, and actually get value out of the assassin form after killing the enemy.
On the other hand, the second starpower promotes a more defensive gameplay style in the form of ramping it. That doesn't mean it doesn't allow Bonnie to be more aggressive though, it's just that it takes more effort to build up enough power to have an effect that contests with her other starpower. I feel like this starpower can be fun, with skilled players absolutely dominating the game should they manage to play well enough to cycle enough supers.
Now, I'm not done with the rework yet. I also want to tinker her gadgets a little bit. As much like her starpowers, they're heavily unbalanced. But unlike her starpowers, I don't find them fundamentally garbage, so I'll just give them state changes.
Sugar Rush gets a nerf from 30% for 5 seconds, to 25% for 3.5 seconds (Maybe even 20%). with the large amount of buffs and new abilities I have given Bonnie, I feel like this is warranted, especially since many people wanted this gadget to get nerfed back when Bonnie was strong.
Crash test gets a distance buff from 2 tiles to 3 tiles. This should allow it to hit enemies more often.

Conclusion:

Wow, that post was a long one wasn't it? Not many people really talk about Bonnie nor go into her kit this deeply. Even if you find my reworks to be a terrible idea for whatever reason, I hope you can at least understanding as to why Bonnie should be buffed in the first place, and the direction that Supercell should take when doing this. Bonnie isn't really one of the worst brawlers in the game and I haven't really seen people talk about this much, so I tried my best to describe her problems in as much detail as possible to hopefully get you to understand my reasoning.
Hopefully, Supercell manages to fix these two issue with Bonnie, I really do think she has potential to be a very fun brawler by most players, but she was just executed poorly. I mean, I still find her fun overall, I'll always love Bonnie, but damn. It's a shame to see my favourite brawler in a state like this. Oh well, thank you guys so much for reading my post. The original story of the death of RFK is shrouded with cover-up, lies, and corruption. This is a collection of evidence I’ve gathered that proves beyond a reasonable doubt a conspiracy to kill Robert F. Kennedy.
The bullet that killed RFK was fired from his right backside at an upward angle, and no witness in the vicinity said Sirhan was closer than 3-4 feet, with most saying around 6 feet. The way Kennedy was standing, facing Sirhan, makes it impossible for Sirhan to have shot him in that manner. witnesses stated the gunfire sounded like a machine gun, and said they had a hard time believing it was from one gun. The medical evidence, meticulously documented by Dr. Thomas Noguchi, the coroner who conducted the autopsy, showed that the fatal shots came from behind and 1 inch away, this automatically shows that Sirhan couldn’t have shot Robert Kennedy, but this is only the first thing. Dr. Noguchi, wrote a book on it calling it the perfect autopsy because it was. He was supervised by lots of different professional experts in autopsies. He saw what happened to JFK's body by the government and media, They didn't allow him to testify in the trial and then they ran a smear campaign against him for saying the bullets came from back right and upwards. He was then fired from his job.
Sirhan fired two bullets, one hitting a man and another hitting a frame behind RFK. He was then abruptly subdued and fired six more shots, which are all accounted for, hitting five different people, with two shots lodging in the ceiling panel and one in the frame. That gives us eight shots not accounting for the four that hit RFK. How is this possible with an eight-shot revolver? It's not. Audio recordings of the shooting have been examined by multiple experts, who concluded that 10-12 shots were fired.
The LAPD tampered with evidence; they removed the frame that clearly had a bullet, as well as the ceiling panels that were hit. This is supported by witness testimony and photographic evidence. The LAPD later stated that the evidence was taking up too much space—a flimsy excuse to blatantly cover up and hide the facts. Former FBI agent William Bailey supported the evidence of bullet holes in the doorways, remembering two bullets in the doorframe and FBI photos proving this. In addition, 20 FBI officers reported seeing bullet fragments or bullet holes in the doorframe.
Sirhan was not given a fair trial. His mother recalls Sirhan asking the judge for a new lawyer and being told to sit down or he would be tied down. His lawyer decided to fight on the basis that Sirhan was mentally ill and in a hypnotic trance, and did not even try to dispute the evidence. For example, the gun that was allegedly used in the shooting was examined by a ballistics expert who stated it was the same gun that killed RFK, even though the serial numbers of the gun he tested and Sirhan's gun didn't match up. Not only did this prove the expert was willing to lie, also destroys the credibility of the LAPD investigation. There was also no chain of custody, which in a real trial would be inadmissible.
They bullied and intimidated a witness Sandra Serrano who claimed a woman in a polka dot dress and a man ran out on the stairs saying, "We killed him, we killed him." They bullied her on tape, making her change her story. Many other people recall seeing and talking to this polka-dot dress girl. Also, a police officer named Paul Shrager got told by a witness that the Polka-dot lady ran past with a man them saying we killed him, Paul later saw in a news report they changed what he said to They killed him. The LAPD claimed they found the polka-dot lady, but it was another person in a green dress, blonde, with crutches, who looked nothing like the person described by witnesses. David Morales, who pressured Sandra Serrano into changing her story about the polka dot lady, was known to have administered tests in South America, Vietnam, and other countries, suggesting ties to the CIA. Morales, drunk, bragged to friends, "I was in Dallas when we got that motherfucker, and I was in Los Angeles when we got the little bastard." He had a history of involvement in CIA operations on foreign soil, including a test on Venezuelan dictator Pérez Jiménez during a government transition.
Scott Enyart was taking pictures in the pantry where Kennedy was killed. He says he loaded and clicked off his third roll of film. He claims that later, during the night of the shooting, police officers chased him down and confiscated his camera and film. He later tried to get this back 6 months later but the police denied ever knowing about it until he contacted his lawyer, who got him 26 out of 36 film. In the missing film was pictures during the shooting more interesting Scott was right behind Thane Eugene Caesar, showing these pictures would show there was no conspiracy, but no the LAPD destroyed them . This was a very weird thing to do. Later, Scott sued, and a Los Angeles jury awarded Enyart $465,000 in his claim against the city. The jury believed that Enyart was in the pantry when Kennedy was shot and that he took three rolls of film. The city was found to be negligent in returning the photographs that the police had confiscated. The photographs have never been found. This is not the only two incidences in the LAPD destroyed 2,400 pieces of evidence as well as Scott Enyart photos 3 weeks before Sirhan's trial.
In addition, Sirhan used to hypnotize himself Sirhan received letters and payments from the Ancient Mystical Order of the Rose Cross. He was known to be the easiest type of person to hypnotize. He be hypnotized to climb the bars of his cell During the trial, psychiatrist Bernard Diamond hypnotized Sirhan, told him he was a monkey, and Sirhan started swinging from the bars of his jail cell and acting like a monkey. Bernard Diamond was a very shady UCLA professor who many believe was one of the main MKULTRA hypnotizers used by the govt. Under hypnosis, he wrote the same things found in his notepad at home: "RFK must die, die." suggesting he wrote in a trance these writings are eerily similar to what he wrote while under hypnosis. William Bryan, a CIA MKULTRA primary researcher and an expert in hypnotism, claimed you could brainwash a person to do almost anything. He allegedly bragged about programming Sirhan and deprogramming Albert DeSalvo, "the Boston Strangler." Sirhan's diary also mentions mind control, aswell as Sirhan writing, "God help me, please help me, Salvo di DeSalvo." Could this be a link between a known CIA hypnotist and Sirhan.
Sirhan was led to a dark place by a woman after drinking coffee with her. He last remembers feeling drowsy and disoriented. He found himself lying on a table, and then he felt someone choking him. This strange and disjointed memory suggests that Sirhan may have been drugged or kidnapped before the Assassination.
Sirhan, easily manipulated through hypnotic techniques and possibly drugged, might have been an easy target for such a conspiracy. His behavior after the arrest was strange, as if he were in a trance. He was described by witnesses as having an empty look, almost as if he were devoid of emotion or awareness of his surroundings. This is consistent with reports of individuals under deep hypnosis.
So after all this, you may ask who did it? It was Eugene Thane Caesar and the polka-dot dress girl. This is the evidence: Thane Caesar was a last-minute replacement as Kennedy’s body guard couldn't show up that day. the kitchen was constantly unguarded, and a Kennedy staffer said she had to keep getting people out of the kitchen, the person to guard the kitchen door was Thane Eugene Caesar, this is where Sirhan would’ve come from and was seen standing there before the shooting. Eugene was standing in the exact position someone would have had to be in to fire the fatal shot. A man and a woman claimed to see a security guard fire shots at Sirhan, and a witness said this in an interview immediately after the shooting. RFK's last conscious action was ripping Eugene's tie off—why would he do that? It could be dismissed as accidental if, and it's a big if, there wasn't an incompetent investigation by the LAPD on a second shooter, or why they didn't take Eugene's gun that he had on the night and didn't interview him for a year.
In that interview, he said he had a .22 same used in the shooting, which he sold before the shooting. This was confirmed to be false as there is a receipt showing he sold it months after to another man. Why would he lie about this? The LAPD said there were no right-wingers there on the night of the killing but guess who was our good friend Eugene. He said in an interview he didn't like Kennedy and was a Republican. Just a bit weird. Eugene was leading RFK down this route as the other path was deemed too crowded or unsafe in a last minute change. To clarify, Eugene was not the only one holding on to Kennedy. Eugene was a very weird person who had a top-secret clearance at Lockheed but was working as a security guard just doesn't make sense.
Also the court granted Thane Caesars wish not to testify.
How do you know this polka-dot lady was involved? Two witnesses stated she was saying, "We killed him, killed him." She was also seen trying to buy a gun and ammo with Sirhan and another man, and there is proof of the sale. in total, she was seen by 10 different people at the Ambassador Hotel.
So why would Sirhan do this? MKULTRA. Sirhan Sirhan was working as a horse trainer or whatever. He never rode horses, but one day he did and he got concussed. He was recorded as going into a Naval hospital for 1 hour and discharged. Sirhan states that he was there for weeks. After the fall, everyone who knew Sirhan said he was different after that fall. Sirhan disappeared for 3 months before the assassination as well, his mother stated.
“On a foggy morning on Sept. 25, 1966, Sirhan fell from a mare named Hy-Vera. “Sirhan was thrown against a metal post, where he lay crumpled, crying and bleeding,” wrote James McKinley. Sirhan later received a $2,000 settlement over the incident.”
Declassified documents have revealed that the CIA was actively monitoring Robert F. Kennedy and had operatives present at the Ambassador Hotel on the night of his assassination. Investigative journalist Shane O'Sullivan's research highlighted the presence of three men identified as former CIA operatives at the hotel, raising questions about their role and purpose that night. These operatives, including George Joannides, David Morales, and Gordon Campbell, were all connected to various covert CIA activities.
Lieutenant Manuel Peña, a key figure in charge of the investigation, left the LAPD shortly before the assassination to work in South America for the Agency for International Development (USAID), a widely known CIA front. The polka dot dress woman remains a mysterious figure. Witnesses consistently reported her presence and her suspicious behavior. Her alleged statements about "killing him" and attempts to purchase firearms with Sirhan indicate her involvement in the conspiracy. The destruction and tampering of evidence by the LAPD and FBI further deepen the conspiracy. In 1992, a petition to the grand jury requested the appointment of a special prosecutor to investigate the LAPD, signed by many figures, with 800 pages of evidence showing the LAPD destroying and falsifying evidence. Notable signatories included RFK assassination researchers rights activists, and legal experts. The petition outlined numerous instances of evidence tampering, witness intimidation, and procedural irregularities surrounding the investigation into RFK's assassination. What are some really overlooked and underused but interesting times in history that would fit this idea? I'm writing a romance novel where two young adult characters go on a random adventure through time, due to reasons, and it will follow the Novikov self-consistency principle.
I know they're gonna go back to the 30s and join The Barrow Gang and end up taking the loot and burying it themselves(Bonnie and Clyde's treasure hasn't been found).
Also the 1940s as that was the golden age of musical theatre and that topic plays a big part in the story.
And I think it'd be funny if they go to Stephen Hawking's Time Traveller's Party cause someone needs to fucking show up to it.
You know silly things like that are welcome. I kinda want it to be set in reality and "explain" some things such as Bonnie and Clyde's missing treasure... as cliche as this idea is. Just, of course, fiction.
Like what if they caused the Erfurt latrine disaster accidentally? Weird obscure things like this.

2024.05.27 11:45 moondog151 After leaving her boarding school, a 17-year-old girl would be found on fire in a forest, screaming in pain. half a year later, her best friend was found buried in the desert. The following investigation resulted in a diplomatic rift and a mysterious and unidentified foreign painter.

(Hopefully, I do an ok job with this case. It is an Israeli case so I'm always worried about controversy.
I was going to do some other case to represent Israel in my alphabetical order thing I've been doing but that case got way too big, had a lot of conflicting information and just had so much detail including word-for-word court transcripts that I just gave up. Maybe I'll come back to it in the far future. But for now, here is a much shorter unsolved mystery.
This case also has some of the worst incompetence that I've personally written about in a long while)
Maya Singer was born in 1966, in Eilon, Israel. She had an interest in painting and painting is what she would spend many hours engaging in. Her family decided to move to Jerusalem and Maya enrolled in The Zionist Youth Farm Boarding School. Maya made many friends at the school but her best friend was Miri Herzog who came from Aseret. The two became close due to shared interests as Miri also loved to paint and sculpt.
On the night of November 24, 1983, she had left the school and began walking home with witnesses saying that she waved her hands to try and hitchhike. Once a car came to a stop, she got inside and the vehicle drove off. Later that night, a security guard at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Central Jeruselum noticed a car drive by and heard a woman screaming from the inside that she had been kidnapped. He rushed to report the incident to his fellow guards who patrolled the area hoping to find the vehicle, instead, they found something much worse. They reached the surrounding forest and noticed a fire in the distance. Getting closer they saw a bonfire and inside was a young girl whose upper body was naked, still alive and screaming in pain and for help. An ambulance was called and due to the close proximity to the hospital, one arrived quickly.
Hours later several police officers arrived but they didn't appear to do much of anything other than close off the crime scene and by the time reporters arrived, most of them were already gone having collected no evidence. Maya was still alive and would barely mumble a few words and phrases to her family and doctors with those words being "Syrian", "police garage" "a stranger, a stranger" and "He hurt me very, very much. Why did he do this to me?". The police were not present and would barely even try questioning her. Only a rare few times would an officer try to question her. Maya was in critical condition but the hospital staff remained optimistic and that she was expected to survive. Tragically, their optimism was misplaced and on November 26, after clinging to life for 48 hours, Maya contracted an infection and passed away.
The ensuing police investigation would be heavily criticized for the negligence displayed throughout. Although police would take photographs of the evidence, nothing was collected or tested. This lead to Maya's father heading to the crime scene himself where he found clothing, cigarette boxes, a syringe and a necklace. He had to collect this evidence and deliver it to the police station himself. They also didn't seem to question anyone at all. Even the guards who discovered Maya weren't properly interviewed until after they gave press interviews and appeared on TV. According to the guards, what did happen was the police mostly ignoring them, seeming uninterested, asking a few basic questions and then declaring the investigation as "over" and left without even taking any notes. The most insulting display of incompetence was when the police interrupted and put a stop to Maya's funeral and took her body back to the morgue, their explanation? They had simply forgotten to take her fingerprints during the autopsy.
On November 29, police arrested two suspects, local Jeruselum residents and accused them of attempting to rape Maya and setting her on fire after they failed. At the time they didn't have much of any evidence beyond Maya simply knowing one of them. A judge ordered their release due to a lack of evidence. In December, police arrested one of them for a second time, Shlomo Saadon, a 30-year-old married man with children. According to the police they had wiretapped a phone call he had with an American girlfriend, his girlfriend was in Israel at the time and threatened to reveal "what had happened". The friend was also arrested. The police never produced this call or proved it had ever existed. He also didn't own a car or any vehicle so yet again, a judge dismissed the charges and ordered their release.
Not long after the second failed prosecution, the media reporting on the case soon grew a bit more sensationalized. When it was mentioned that Maya knew one of the suspects, she knew him from occasionally smoking Hashish with him only a handful of times. According to Maya's mother, the news now "Almost made her out to be the queen of the underworld of Jerusalem," and were writing articles about how the murder was drug-related. Her parents accused the police of leaking that detail because in their own words "The police thought that if the public saw the victim as responsible for her fate, it would be easier for them to accept the fact that the murder was not solved." And that was where the trail went cold.
The murder struck Miri Herzog especially hard, she was unable to properly cope with the loss and would even alarmingly say "I'm next". She would later drop out of school and prefer to stay with her friends and family as much as possible. Friends and family would mention how she'd go into her room alone and just remain silent. It's unknown if Miri ever truly moved on but as the months passed by, she began to get out more and travel.
On June 3, 1984, 2 years after The Sinai Peninsula was returned to Egypt, Miri went there with some friends as a tourist. They went to the small coastal town of Nuweiba. The last person to see her alive was a young woman and she and Miri agreed to meet up that afternoon. Miri never turned up. 2 days later her disappearance was reported to the local police. Egyptian police did not attach much importance to the case and it was unknown if they even initiated any search efforts at all. Egypt also refused to cooperate.
By chance, an off-duty IDF soldier was vacationing in Nuweiba when by complete chance he came across a body buried under the sand dunes. Afterward, he returned to Israel and reported the find. He returned with more IDF soldiers and Miri's family and entered Egypt secretly. The body was a young woman and identified as Miri based on the various sculptures of Miri's and poetry she had written found at the scene. The news was eventually leaked to the public and Egyptian Officials were outraged with many seeing it as a violation of their sovereignty. Based on reports, Egyptian police quickly found the burial site on their own and held Miri's body at a morgue in Nuweiba for months and refused to repatriate it seemingly out of retaliation. Eventually, on November 5, 1984, an agreement was reached and Egypt finally returned the body to Isreal. Unfornatuely, after this stunt, there was no chance of a joint investigation and yet again, it's unknown what if any investigation was conducted by Egyptian police. There were, however, rumours circulating that Miri had been raped and murdered by some local Bedouin people or by Egyptian police officers themselves. Allegedly, Miri had met a Bedouin man who wanted to marry her.
A year and a half after Maya's murder, the police reopened the investigation and put an investigator named Solomon Amir as the head of the investigation team with Solomon being pressured by his superiors to solve the case. While Maya's family would constantly and rightfully criticize the police for their handling of their daughter's case, Solomon was the exception and they described him as the only one who actually listened to them and by all accounts he tried his hardest to bring them closure. Solomon went through the old files from the previous investigation and found that more leads went ignored than he had thought and it was up to him to chase them all down again.
First, they spoke to a taxi driver. The driver said that after the murder he picked up a passenger who spoke with an "Arabic accent" and was talking about the case with details not published in the media included. Assuming the driver didn't misinterpret that accent and that her family didn't mishear her dying words then this would explain why she mumbled "Syrian" The police tried their hardest to track down the passenger but as it had been nearly two years that was very difficult. So they then turned to using his description of the passenger to create a composite sketch of the man. No one who saw it came forward.
Another new lead that Solomon looked into was one of Maya's friends. No one could get a clear look at the car Maya had entered, except for her, who identified the vehicle as a white van. Tracking the van down would again be nearly impossible so the police found a nursing student at the same hospital Maya was sent to, to act as a decoy. She would walk outside at night, stand outside Maya's boarding school and hitchhike, hoping that this alleged van driver would still come back to claim another victim. This routine would go on for three to four months but no such van would ever show up.
Solomon would then look into more of Maya's last words, even if it meant investigating his fellow officers, especially so since he focused on "police garage". He and a few of his subordinates would discreetly through the personal files of police officers to see if any of them knew Maya, lived in the area, had a vehicle matching the one seen at the scene or owned a garage or a house with a garage near the crime scene. They tried comparing the ID photos of officers to the sketch of the Taxi Driver's passenger. Solomon would take it a step further and expand the investigation to dismissed or suspended police officers. Afterward, Solomon and his trusted officers would go to all nearby hospitals to ask if any police officers were treated shortly after the murder in case Maya resisted. The last course of action taken with this lead was when Solomon took it literally and investigated all three police garages in Jerusalem at the time to see if any vehicles were checked out on the day of the murder.
They also investigated the murder as possibly being of an occult nature due to the ritual of only stripping Maya halfway and setting her on fire. Eventually, this theory was dismissed. Gas Stations were also investigated to see if anyone on that night bought a bunch of fuel that would've been used to start the fire but no one could remember such a thing. Solomon was so desperate for leads that he even tried analyzing Maya's paintings in case they could reveal anything about herself as she didn't keep a diary.
Solomon had only one lead left to pursue and this may have been the most important as it's also one for Miri's murder. Maya and Miri both began their friendship over a shared interest in painting, but they would also befriend someone else with that interest. Nobody else ever got his name, just that he was Yugoslavian and a fellow painter himself. According to friends, among the friends that Miri took with her to the Sinai Peninsula, one of them was Yugoslavian. A composite sketch was made of this supposed Yugoslavian Painter and shown to the Israeli Border Guards at the Egyptian border but they didn't remember or recognize the man. And as for their records? they were entry and exit registrations were written on cards, unorganized and lost.
The theory that Solomon personally believes in is that the Yugoslavian Painter killed Maya, and then went on a trip to Egypt with Miri and killed her. But this man's identity has never been determined. Despite trying his hardest, the second investigation into Maya's case was halted and Solomon was assigned to other investigations but he still remained in touch with Maya's parents and would keep trying to reopen the case. Eventually, he returned in the early-mid 2000s. Although he put a ton of hard work into investigating the case himself, the initial investigation was a mistake that could never be lived down and tainted public perception so much that another popular theory is that police officers were involved in the murder.
On June 16, 2019, an Israeli news station aired a short documentary on Maya's case to bring new attention and awareness to it. In July, the police stated that someone had seen the special and contacted them with new information prompting them to reopen the case and conduct another investigation. It is unknown what the new information was, only that nothing came of it.
Both cases remain unsolved, and exactly one week from now on June 3, 2024, it will be the 40th anniversary of Miri Herzog's murder.

Maurice Vellekoop: I'm So Glad We Had This Time Together (1:01:32, 140.0mb) Miles Baker does the introduction. Maurice does a reading from his new book, then he is interviewed by Rachel Giese. Among the topics were his upbringing, themes that run through the book, the role that family photos mad in making the book, the help he had in getting the details of the places depicted in the past, the influence of specific people had on him as told in the book, where the title of the book comes from, his diverse taste in high and low art and if there is a connecting tissue within in, his trip to a castle and the effect it had on him, the positive side of his religious upbringing, depictions of his therapy sessions and voices in his head, how people in his past have reacted to the book, did his art change over the 10 years of making it and how he dealt with that, the process for creating the art for the book, the emotional turmoil in making the book, how he decided what stories to use, why he had to re-write and re-draw some of the book, what compelled him to do the book in the first place, how he chose the colours for the various chapters and his age recommendation for the book. This took place on Thursday Night (May 9th) 7pm @ Toronto Reference Library in their new Jack Robinvitch Room.
Artists Talk on Grants: How to Get Them and How to Use Them (1:05:34, 150.0mb) Moderated by Allison O'Toole, panelists were Josh Rosen, Victoria Day and Steven Andrews. They discussed how can I get a grant, who can apply for one, what grants fund, where to get grants, where do you start the process, what to include in an application, talking about your work, spending the money and keeping track of it when you get a grant, how grants are and are not taxed, asking for the full amount of the allowed grant.
Indy Comics: Now More Than Ever! Workshop: Memory into Mini-Comics (37:21, 85.5mb) Lara Antal teaches how to turn a memory into a mini comics. She goes through 3 steps giving evocative & sensory storytelling techniques, your creative toolbox, picking a memory, creating a thumbnail sheet, using words & pictures in context, drawing in other senses like sound, taste, smell, using contrast & similarity, how to make a zine, using connecting fill in panels to tie it all together, sharing your story.
State of the Industry Roundtable (1:03:06, 144mb) On the panel was Alexander Finbow, Tracy Hurren, Avi Ehrlich and Andy Brown. Among the topics discussed were why the last year was a shitshow, #comicsbrokeme, different approaches to funding comics for both creators and publishers, the benefits of artists having original art to sell, things young creators show be aware of, red flags when dealing with publishers, the role of editors, creative control with big and small publishers, marketing, what they are launching and looking forward to, the gaps in the comics industry they'd like to see filled, how a weird pitch could win them over, digital comics and how that helps or hurts. The panel was moderated by MJ Lyons.
Canada Post Graphic Novel Stamp Panel (1:07:56, 155mb) Miles Baker did the introduction, then Carrie Chisholm from Canada Post announced they made new stamps with Seth, Jillian & Mariko Tamaki, Chester Brown and Michel Rabagliati based on their books Clyde Fans, This One Summer, Louis Riel and Paul à Québec respectively. Ho Che Anderson then interviewed the Seth, Jillian Tamaki and Chester Brown. They spoke about how they got involved with Canada Post, the process of making the stamp and working with Canada Post, Jillian spoke about collecting stamps as a child and always wanting to make one as a kid, the exposure and prestige of their work on a stamp, comics as art and their progression from the 1980s to now, how in comics there are different parts that want comics to be respected vs. subversive and which 'camp' they fall into, if Chester would do Louis Riel differently today, how there are a lot more young cartoonists now, becoming 'elder statemen' of comics, the state of comics today and the industry, how big their respective OA was and thinking about how it will look when it's shrunk down to stamp size, working with scanners and digitally, the reduction of quality in non-digital art tools, how Seth and Chester influenced each other, Jillian learning how to draw comics by reading comics, Jillian being a part of a generation of comics creators that didn't grow up reading Marvel and DC comics, if they felt trapped by the success of their earlier works, Chester's Paying for It being turned into a film and what new work they are doing.
Gleem: Freddy Carrasco Spotlight (55:53, 127mb) Ho Che Anderson interviews Freddy Carrasco about his book Gleem and other topics including learning to draw, how he started making comics and doing short stories, why he was attracted to comics, moving from Toronto to Tokyo, why he went to work on a cabbage farm, being black in Japan, getting into painting, doing sci-fi stories, publishing via D&Q, the religious element in Gleem, what the female character represents, how films have influenced him, violence and technology, AI almost making him quit Instagram, the overlap between the stories in Gleem, the colour section in the book, the wordless story and why he did it, doing more books, his interest in sculpture, the process of creating his art, his upcoming exhibition and how many pages he drew in a day.
Gene Luen Yang Spotlight (45:18, 103mb) Gene and moderator Mark Askwith spoke about when he first began drawing, his first comic books, making comics as a kid with a friend, getting into indy comics via Rory Root's Comic Relief store, what books really connected to him, his love of Scott McCloud's Understanding Comics, jobs he did while starting in comics, doing American Born Chinese and how it changed his life, First Second being his "home", what Lunar New Year Love Stories is about, how some of it was based the artists stories in which they completely write and drew, how crazy fast the artist is, the Lion Dance section and how all of the ways it fit into the book, the Ambassador role he has and what he speaks about, what books he recommends to people, his early cartoonist friends in San Francisco, Superman Smashes The Klan, American Born Chinese being turned into a TV show and how that affected his life, the connection he has with his audience.
Raeghan Buchanan - Drawing History out of Obscurity (51:18, 117mb) Raeghan talked about obscure history is harder to research, with it you will find misconceptions and need dispel them, the types of sources you can use and which ones are best, doing interviews, the pro's and con's of doing interviews, using online articles and personal websites, the library of congress site, archive.org, looking through comments on videos to find other sources, archives in university libraries, biographies, photo references, the distillation of peoples stories, how it's about the journey, letting your voice come though, some origin stories she told and the presentation of the information.
Joe Matt Tribute (50:27, 115mb) Panelists were Chris Oliveros, Adrian Tomine, Seth, Chester Brown and Jeet Heer. Among the topics the group spoke about was Matt's impact on comics particularly in their generation and on them specifically, Chris talked about getting into alt. comics and writing and then meeting Joe Matt, Seth and Chester about first coming across his work and how they knew right away he was a great cartoonist that they had to befriend, Seth revealed that Joe was a great curator of both the items in his life and his own work, how Joe revealing so much about himself and the people around him (including his then girlfriend) lead to changes in their relationships, Adrian talked about meeting Joe, seeing in him LA and how Joe's work influenced his, Chris revealed that Joe was always talking about the collection of his work, Seth spoke about Joe presenting himself as an asshole in his work on purpose, Matt being a perfectionist when it comes to inking, why Joe wasn't included as one of the Postage Stamps and Chester talked about finishing Joe's last work.
Ask a (Comics) Librarian (57:03, 130mb) On the panel was Natalie DeJonghe, Tina Coleman, Lindsay Gibb, Scott Robins, Fatma Faraji, Dr. Lucia Cedeira Serantes and Amie Wright (moderator). They all introduced themselves and told their comics origin story, Amie went through a very brief history of the attempts to get comics in libraries starting with a 1974 article by Will Eisner championing this idea, they all spoke about the coolest thing they worked on with comics and libraries, they all gave a shout out to other Librarians who have done great things with collections and programs, then they all recommended a new GN.
Paneled Rheum - Art, Comics and Sequential Narrative (55:03, 126mb) Moderated by Jessica Campbell, the panelists were Thijs Desmet, Kit Anderson, Aiden Koch and Kristen Hatfield. Among the topics they spoke about was what comics do that other mediums do not and why they do them, how they experiment with comics, being experimental but still readable, being ambiguous in their work and the audiences reactions, using environment and landscapes in their work, ecological storytelling and why they put humor in their story.
Keith Knight Spotlight (58:11, 133mb) Keith spoke about his upbringing and how it changed his work, coming up with (th)ink and why he did it, talk about American History, doing a daily newspaper comic strip, how cartooning can change the world, John Lewis's March and it's inspiration, his book They Shoot Black People, Don't They? and what inspired it, his Woke TV show and experience with it and his site BlackMugshots.com and why he created it.
Laugh Riot - Humour in Comics: Parody, Satire and Commentary (55:24, 126mb) Creators Jade Armstrong, Mitch Lohmeier, Thom, Rick Altergott and eventually Keith Knight talk to Robert Sikoryak. They discussed what their books is about and why they decided to make it, writing from their real life and how that made it either harder or easier for them, how their art style affects their humour and if they keep it or change it from book to book, techniques for the punch line when turning the page, how they know if something they wrote is funny or not, human gestures that enhance the jokes.
Deni Loubert Spotlight (54:37, 125mb) Deni was interviewed by Dr. Rebecca Sullivan about Starting Renegade Press, coming into comics and her challenges, her turning down working for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Image Comics when they were starting up, why she turned down Image Comics in particular, her being a founder of Friends of Lulu and why she got involved in it, the organizations work with retailers in terms of making comic shops more friendly for women, if she thinks that type of advocacy is still needed in comics, the need for women to push to open doors for themselves and other women, the creative process in publishing books, how Renegade Romance title started, publishing genre and non-genre comics, working with different creators, her very near miss in getting on a debuting iphone with the first web comic app, the best and worst changes to the comic industry, her documentary and video journalism work, why she chose to move to the US to start Renegade Press, an opportunity she thought would work and why it fell apart. Note: I came in a bit late for this panel so it starts while in progress.

Comic book artist Maurice Vellekoop and publisher Deni Loubert were inducted into the Giants of the North Hall of Fame by Fiona Smyth and Michael Cherkas & Larry Hancock respectively.

Hello! This is my first time making this which sucks because I wished I'd never have to make this. I have just within the past day been scammed by a now deleted user (u/anayelisalas) on ATEEZ on through their marketplace tag. The account had just been made and I had been highly skeptical of the account and the albums they were posting (Treasure Series Albums and Fever Part 1 albums) for the account was just made, had no karma or anything. But, because I had given other sellers a chance with low sales, I thought to take a chance here. And I paid the price because of it.
They deleted their email in our dms. But the name under the account was Bonnie Rico with a Huening Bahiyyih icon. I've already contacted paypal, my bank, and even sent in a dispute through the government scamming line because I'm down 130$, which is alot more than I wished to have gotten scammed for. Another person had commented on the post below as well ( https://www.reddit.com/ATEEZ/comments/1d0oz19/wts\_usww\_albums/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web3x&utm\_name=web3xcss&utm\_term=1&utm\_content=share\_button) with hopes of getting treasure albums. I hope they see this 😭.

Case #2798: The Appalachian Murders
“Mr. Raines, what the hell are you doing here?” I demanded as I grabbed his arm when he began storming off back down the trail where we had come from. “Did… Did you escape the prison?”
“No, I asked one of the guards very nicely to let me go and put an end to the piece of shit that killed my fiancé,” Mr. Raines replied sarcastically, “I believe his name was Shit Sherlock, first name No.”
He then yanked back his arm and went on with his walk down the trail before I zipped over and stood in his way. “Are you out of your fucking mind?” I shouted in his face. “Mr. Rains, I am trying to prove your innocence and this is a huge step backwards! An accused murderer with possible ties to the occult escaping from prison is a huge red flag! Even if I do prove you didn’t kill your fiancé, they could still lock you away for eve longer!”
“At least that demon that possessed me will be dead and won’t get anyone else!” Mr. Raines spat back. He then took notice of Kate who had climbed out of the car and staggered over toward us, most likely not wanting to be too far away from something that was actually human. “The fuck is this, were you getting head in the place where my wife was killed you sick fuck?”
“The… No!” I snapped. “The fuck is wrong with- you know what, never mind, she’s the other person accused of a different murder in that cabin.”
“You?” Mr. Raines eyed Kate, making her squirm under his tense and confused gaze as he looked her up and down. “Jesus Christ, you’re just a kid, this fucking demon!”
“D-Demon?” Kate asked, looking from Mr. Raines to me.
“She thinks its a Wendigo.” I explained to Mr. Raines.
“The hell’s a Wendigo?” Mr. Raines asked right before shaking his head. “Don’t care, whatever it is, I’m putting an end to it.” He held up the rifle he still gripped in his hands.
“Mr. Raines, we already tried shooting it,” I told him, stepping forward and ready to grab him if he tried to run, “bullets don’t do shit.”
“Regular bullets don’t do shit,” Mr. Raines pointed out, “silver bullets with holy water can kill practically anything… At least that’s what Google says and while I still think this could all be bullshit, I’m willing to try anything.”
It was at this point I realized I had surrounded myself with crazy people who believed in things I couldn’t believe I myself was beginning to believe. First, I had to talk Kate down from her hero’s high, now I had to deal with a rifle wielding, prison escapee Mr. Raines. Not only that, but there was something out in those mountains with us that most likely killed a whole bunch of cops on a search party for Kate. Everything was pointing to all of this being my fault since I was the one handling this specific case and had spent time with both suspects.
“Both of you, in the car, now.” I ordered as both Kate and Mr. Raines turned to me. “I’m not asking, we’re leaving and whatever is out here will be handled by the proper authorities, whether you two like it or not.”
The two stared at me for a few silent moments, Kate looking conflicted while Mr. Raines looked like I had made a really bad joke.
“I don’t have time for this,” Mr. Raines rolled his eyes as he pushed past me and down the trail, “you two brats can go do whatever you want, but I’m killing that son of a bitch.”
“Mr. Raines,” Kate spoke up after the older man, “I… I think… I think we should go back with Det. Snow.” She went on when Mr. Raines stopped to look at her.
“So she does speak,” he grumbled, “look kid, you can go back home and get an earful from your parents and police, but that thing killed my wife. This is fucking personal.”
“I’m nineteen, I’m not a kid!” Kate shot back indignantly. “Plus, it killed my best friends, this is personal for me too!”
“You still got your whole life ahead of you, either way,” Mr. Raines shot back, “I lost my wife, my home, my family, I ain’t got shit left. This thing took everything from me! You and Det. Smart Ass can go home all you want, but I’m blowing its head off one way or another.”
With that, Mr. Raines spun and began his journey up to the cabin. I began following after him, Kate right behind me.
“Mr. Raines, I can’t let you just go up those mountains,” I told him, trying to keep up with his long strides, “First of all, if anyone at the station knew that I let a prison escapee, a convicted killer prison escapee for that matter, I could lose my job.”
“Better start job hunting then, boy,” Mr. Raines replied with no hint of sympathy to his tone, “not that you were any good as a detective in the first place.”
I took in a deep breath of fresh nature air, trying to hold back all the anger that continued to build up in my stomach. “Second, that thing that’s out here that most likely killed Bonnie can mimic people. Especially people it killed, or at very least people that have died out here. Kate saw one of her friends, I saw someone… I knew… It could mimic her.”
“Never use my wife’s name again,” Mr. Raines demanded as he shot me a dirty look over his shoulder, “and that’s all the more reason to kill it. It has another thing coming if it thinks it can act like my wife!”
“You might not even feel like you have a choice,” Kate spoke up, “when I saw it it looked like my best friend, it made me feel horrible for wanting to kill it because that meant I’d be killing her all over again, it could make you feel that way about your wife too!”
Mr. Raines stopped and turned to glare down at Kate, the rifle still raised against his chest. “I’m not stupid enough to believe for one second that she would ever come back from the dead, my Bonnie is gone and no demon, Wind Gone, or whatever the fuck else is out here is going to convince me she-“
A howling off in the distance stopped Mr. Raines from speaking more as his skin turned pale in the moonlight. I felt Kate grab my arm, her fingers digging into my skin as we all looked around us to find out the placement of the howling. I looked around, taking Kate’s hand and trying to calm her down before she ripped off a piece of my skin.
“Th-That’s the… The howling…” Mr. Raines gulped, getting his rifle ready. “That’s the exact kind of howling I heard when… You two can go home, I’m not leaving until I blow this bastard’s head off like a fucking watermelon.”
The howling continued as Mr. Raines went on toward the cabin. I could only listen to the sound of the howling before Kate gently shook my arm and giving me a look. I let out a frustrated growl before quickly storming back to my car to retrieve more ammo for my Glock and Kate’s rifle. I shoved the rifle into her arms, assuring she had brought her own refill of bullets for her weapon, then began rushing to catch up to Mr. Raines.
“Don’t either of you fucking die on me while we’re out here,” I demanded when we had caught up with Mr. Raines, “otherwise, I’ll refuse to tell the truth of what happened up here when I’m inevitably interrogated for all of this.”
Neither Mr. Raines or Kate responded, a chill passing through all three of us as we went on back up the trail, the only signs of life being the howling in the distance. When we had arrived to the cabins, the two had kept their attention fully on Cabin #2, inching toward it with their weapons at the ready. Meanwhile, I examined the perimeter, taking note of the scratches on Kate’s car, the door of the Cabin #1 still open from when we had run out of it, and the little shack that I assumed was the house of “Mrs. Larson.” The very house Kate had said she had seen the old woman her first day there.
“Kate,” I called after her quietly, speeding up to stand with her and Mr. Raines, “you said you saw Mrs. Larson in her house, yes?” I asked when she slowly turned to give me her attention.
“Y-Yeah?” She responded.
“Is that it over there?” I asked, pointing to the little shack set off to the side of the three cabins. She nodded.
“Wouldn’t the cops have searched all of these shit shacks during the investigations?” Mr. Raines asked.
“Apparently not,” I admitted as I turned my gaze to Mrs. Larson’s house, “I thought they would have, but after what we found in the basement of Cabin #1, it’s safe to assume they left the places alone when they saw neither of you went in there during your time here.”
“What’s in the basement in that cabin?” Mr. Raines asked, looking to said cabin.
“B-Bodies…” Kate responded, beginning to shake, “So… Many…”
“We won’t go back in there if we can help it,” I assured both of them as Mr. Raines spun to look to Kate with a look of confused horror. “However, I think we should search around in that house, especially if it is Mrs. Larson’s house before she died. There could be answers as to what this thing is and how to kill it.” I added when I got skeptical looks from Kate and Mr. Raines.
The two shared a look before looking back to me and nodding. I readied my Glock and flashlight and led the two to the house. I looked through the dusty windows, only making out so much by the light of the moon. Shining my flashlight didn’t help either, my light just reflecting back to us and the dust and cobwebs inside making things far more harder to make out. I made my way to the door and knocked hard, making Kate and Mr. Raines jump and look to me like I had just grown a second head.
“Police, open up!” I shouted in a commanding voice. I pressed my ear to the splintered wood, trying to make out any and all sounds from inside. When there was no sound, I tried the knob, the door creaking open as I forced it open when I found it unlocked. “Hello?” I called in.
Nothing.
“Yes, Detective, I’m sure this monster will answer you with a ‘hello, how are you? Would you like some cake?’.” Mr. Raines scoffed as he pushed past me and into the house.
“He’s only trying to help,” Kate told the older man as I nodded for her to follow behind me, entering the house after Mr. Raines, “not even we know entirely what we’re dealing with and we’ve seen first hand what it did.”
“He can be the Second Coming and I still wouldn’t give a shit,” Mr. Raines shot back at her as he searched around the desolate, torn up, and dust and cobweb infested house, “as far I know, he’s the one who told me this bitch I spoke to had been dead five years prior to me coming here and now you’re saying you actually saw her. If she is here, I ain’t sparing no time splattering this place with her brains!”
“Christ, you’re morbid.” I heard Kate mumble under her breath.
We searched around the house in silence for the next hour or so, the only sound being the creaking of our boots against the wooden floor. The furniture was covered in white cloth, now turned gray from the dust and torn from nature and time. It appeared as if no one had touched this place since Mrs. Larson’s death. It wasn’t until I spotted the framed photo of the exact same face used for Mrs. Larson’s profile picture on a nearby dresser that I even believed this place was once owned by her. In this photo, there was one other person with Mrs. Larson, the house directly behind them. The other person was another woman, one that looked similar to Mrs. Larson, however this new woman looked slightly taller, her hair cut shorter into a more pixie cut as opposed to Mrs. Larson’s longer, straight hair. Both women were frowning, staring directly at whoever took the picture, standing side by side.
“Detective,” Mr. Raines voice pulled me away from the photo. I set the photo back down and quickly made my way to the room where I had heard Mr. Raines’ voice calling me. It looked to be some kind of study, with papers, books, and pictures. Kate had gotten there before me, standing next to Mr. Raines as they looked up at a cork board covered with photos, sticky notes, and red yarn connecting certain notes and pictures.
“This look familiar to you?” Mr. Raines asked as I walked in.
“That’s a myth, Mr. Raines,” I told him as I examined everything on the cork board, shining my flashlight on everything that was pinned up. The photos were of Kate and her friends, each image tacked over another image, those being of Mr. Raines and his fiancé. Underneath his photos were those of who I could only assume were the past victims who were never found.
I could hear Kate shudder beside me as she looked at each note and picture I shined my light on. “Sh-She was… Watching us…?”
“Someone definitely was,” I agreed, “most likely gathering information to use against you to turn you all against one another. They were probably finding out ways to frame people in case someone survived the attacks, hence you and Mr. Raines.”
“Diabolical bitch,” Mr. Raines hissed as he looked up at the photo of Bonnie “Bunny” Collins. Her beautiful, young smiling face looking back at him. I could only imagine what was going through the older man’s head as he looked up at the woman he was going to marry with notes about accusing him of infidelity to lure her away from him scattered around the photos of the couple together, holding on to one another as if afraid to let go for even a second. Moments now nothing but long lost memories.
“Det. Snow,”
I spun to see Kate had stepped away from my side to make her way to a bunch of blueprints of the cabins scattered on a nearby desk. However, she was holding a leather bound book in her hands, flipping through the pages and scanning certain phrases she took interest in.
“I… I think this is… Mrs. Larson’s diary,” she went on when she looked up to see she had my attention.
“How’d you figure?” Mr. Raines asked as he turned away from his wife.
“‘November seventeenth, nineteen, forty-three, Papa left before dawn with his shot gun,’” Kate began reading from a random page, “‘he told Prudence and I to stay inside until he came back and that he’d find mama soon. It’s getting colder and the coyotes sound like their getting closer. I’m frightened. I wish mama and papa would hurry on home already so we can eat.’” She then went on flipping through more pages before stopping on one and reading it aloud. “‘Prudence isn’t getting better, she’s getting hungrier and hungrier by the second and she keeps biting at her flesh. I’ve tried looking for more food, for medicine, anything to stop this change that’s happening to her. She keeps asking for mama and papa. I thought she was just mocking me, but now that’s all she does, she just keeps asking for them in a high-pitched voice like mine. I’m giving her all my food. I’m getting hungry too. I don’t think she’ll even share if I ask. I can’t take this hunger much longer.’”
“The actual fuck?” Mr. Raines spoke, eyeing the diary in Kate’s hands. “The hell happened here?”
“Prudence must be Mrs. Larson’s sister,” I responded as I stepped over to look at the pages Kate flipped through over her shoulder, “I found a picture of her and some other woman. Her sister must have gotten sick and it affected her in some way that… Made her turn into that… Thing.”
“Wendigos are said to possess people who are out in the wilderness and can only think to eat the first thing they come across,” Kate explained, “maybe-“
“Enough with this fucking Wendigo shit,” Mr. Raines interrupted, “I don’t care how they reproduce, is there anything in there about killing this fucking thing?”
“It doesn’t… Wait,” I began, flipping page after page until I came across something. “‘I’ve finally figured it out, I finally know how to end this nightmare,’” I began reading, the room suddenly getting colder as I saw my breath with each word I spoke, “‘from what I could gather from my research, I now know how Prudence can return to being human. If my findings are correct, we just need’…” I trailed off, looking to Kate before shooting my gaze back to the diary.
“What?” Mr. Raines asked, stepping closer.
“Th-There’s nothing about stopping it,” I replied, “just about how to control it. To keep them from turning into those things easily.”
“H-How?” Kate asked, shaking from both fear and the cold.
“Lucky Dime…”
My blood went cold as a different voice echoed out around the whole of the house. Kate let out a cry as she dropped the diary and clutching her rifle, ready to fire it as she pointed it to the door of the room with Mr. Raines quickly following after her. This voice wasn’t like the others we had heard, this one came from a woman. Elderly and shaking. We could hear footsteps approach as it continued to call out to me using that God damned nickname.
“Lucky Dime… Lucky Dime… I need her… I need her… Bring her to me…”
“Come out, now!” I shouted, releasing the safety on my Glock and shooting once into the ceiling before pointing it to the door, making Kate and Mr. Raines jump. “That was a warning shot! Come out and I won’t shoot you!”
Silence.
We then heard a button being pressed and whirring sound of a recorder.
“I’m here… I’m here… I’m here… I’m here…”
“I’ve fucking had it!” Mr. Raines barked as he began storming toward the door. “Show yourself you-“
“I’m here! I’m here!”
Before I could even blink, something large screamed out with the sound of the recording and snatched Mr. Raines out of my sight. His screams fading out somewhere in the house, Kate screaming herself as she released a few rounds of her own rifle. I stood in shock, not knowing what had just happened or what to do.
“Detective!” Kate’s cries snapped me out of my shock and it took everything I had to grab her and make a run for it, holding her arm as we went and readying my gun at every turn we made. I could still hear Mr. Raines screaming and that woman’s voice calling for me to give Kate to it.
“Whatever happens, run!” I told Kate as we stumbled in the dark to the front door. “I’ll hold this thing off as much as I can, but don’t stop running! Keep running no matter what-“
Before I could finish my sentence, the front door slammed shut in front of my face, a figure standing where the door had been left wide open. I didn’t have time to process what I was looking at before it bolted right to me and send something heavy and blunt down on my head, making everything go black.
The last thing I remember was the screams of Kate and Mr. Raines begging for help, the pleading of Kate to an unknown person to not hurt her, and the God forsaken, bone-chilling, distant howling.

Autopsy reports of the victim Karen Mandic have been denied to me. However, I am told that the autopsy report gives a time of death after midnight, January 12, 1979.
It is agreed by the police and myself that at midnight, January 12, 1979, I was home asleep.
Leads led Mr. Monaghan to learn about a new scientific method of using eye clouding or lack thereof to determine the time of death. Poor quality black and white photos of the autopsy of Miss Mandic show a lack of eye clouding, which supports a later time of death after midnight.
As the law is written, access to autopsy reports and photos - even to prove innocence - is restricted. Although the police and the prosecution are authorized to have access, and this new scientific method can assist in establishing the truth, all requests by Mr. Monaghan and I have been declined.

I'm titling this "You & Me Vs. He" because I want to evaluate the ways she refers to her lover and their love, versus the third person in the equation-- usually a "he". This is similar the "you versus he" topic in gaylore, but with a bit of a twist.
The way she refers to her lover and their love is usually queer-coded or feminine. For example phrases like "lavender haze" is queer-coded and "baby doll" is typically used for a feminine person.
