My first best friend, who I'll call Melissa, and I met in kindergarten and were both 5 at the time. We both looked and smiled at each other. That was the day we became friends and it was the most happiest day of my childhood. I sat next to her and we were hanging out with each other every day.
We would do so many things at school with each other. We would sit on the carpet to play with the items the teacher put out for the class each morning. We would always do fun activities in the gym. We would sit at lunch, laugh about funny things we told each other, and hang out at recess every day. My favorite moment was when we were on the swings to see who would go the highest and just look at each other and smile. We did go to other parts of the playground but the swings was our favorite.
When we weren't in a classroom together with our teachers due to them having a different assigned classroom, we would still hang out in lunch and in recess because they released everyone at a certain time by grade level. For example, if we were in 1st grade and students were in a different classroom, the 1st graders would all be released at the same time while the other students in different grades remained in the same classroom. So even if Melissa and I were in different classrooms, we would always meet up and have a great time.
In 3rd grade, I found this girl who I'll call Leah. Leah and I would do pretty fun things together since we were in the same classroom and were hanging out with each other, but I'd still go and hang out with Melissa sometimes. I introduced Melissa to Leah and we basically became a friend group, or at least I thought it was a friend group.
During this time I was constantly having to pick sides with some of our things we were making up as kids. First, it was who I was to sit with at lunch. (Sometimes I wasn't lucky enough to sit with either of them because of a rule where we had to sit in a boy-girl pattern to apparently make everyone quieter during lunch time.) Then it was with some group or clan we made up during recess, Melissa was in "unicorn squad" and Leah was in "girl squad" (I made up the name of girl squad.) I would try to bring them both together but Melissa's friends and Leah's friends didn't get along too well. I had no other best friends besides the both of them and it kinda broke my heart to see them not get along as well as I was with them. Then on a very traumatic day in fourth grade that I still regret for the rest of my life, Melissa and Leah both came up to me and said "You have to pick one best friend." I said I wanted them both to be my best friends but Leah kept pushing that I only pick one. Then we made up a stupid contest to see who would win (my idea) and I was a little tired of it and made Leah win. I have never seen such a sad look on Melissa's face when we were about to leave for home. I ran after her and apologized, I tried to comfort her and I think it worked since we stopped the argument.
Later on in the year of 4th grade, Melissa and Leah had some new friends they were hanging out with. I was fine with it at first, but seeing as their friends were experiencing many joyful moments with my best friends without me, I grew hatred towards their friends. I became jealous of what they were doing. I tried everything as a 9 year old girl could possibly do to keep the relationship going between me and my best friends. I still sat with both of them at lunch and joined them in recess. When they were busy hanging out with their friends, I was left alone, wandering around the playground, doing the things my best friends and I used to do but alone this time. It became depressing just thinking about memories of me and my friends playing together in the past and having fun. Now I had to have fun but alone as I watch my best friends have fun with theirs instead of me. I became even more depressed and angry seeing other random friendships because they were having fun and not me. I felt so alone, hurt, betrayed, so much emotion. This grew into more extreme hate towards the friends of my best friends.
In 5th grade, I did everything I could to have fun with them, but for some reason, something felt off. We hung out less. We didn't sit at lunch every day. Then I found out something shocking. Leah was hanging out with other girls who would give her lunch money, (I gave her lunch money for quite a long time now so we would get snacks with my money I gave her) and was making videos with these girls. I then hated the girls because apparently in my mind, they were controlling and possessing my friend. They stole her away from me. Leah and I still hung out and I considered her my friend because I didn't understand the concept of being used for money. Leah would always invite me to make videos but I wasn't comfortable. I realized how much of a fake friend she was but I still gave her a chance to change but never happened. I went to hang out with Melissa more after this but this felt a bit off too. She was hanging out with this one girl a lot. She seems pretty happy to be with her instead of me more. Melissa was into anime and I wasn't, so that drifted us apart but I didn't see it. I wasn't really into any of my best friend's interests because I was still depressed and full of rage against these girls. I grew to hate everyone and everything and I only wanted to be with Melissa.
It was near the end of the year when I went to go with Melissa in the playground where we always used to go, the swings. She constantly kept moving away, switching swings of just walking away from me. This hurt a lot coming from a close friend like her. I went to hang out with Leah because I still had no friends besides the two of them. Leah as well, left me behind and I was there alone again. All this just fueled my anger against everything. I hated other people, I hated activities, I hated everything, including myself. I thought this was weird since I didn't express my hate that badly towards these other girls, although I did want them to through horrible and horrendous things because in my mind, they were stealing my friends. They took away the people who made me happy. I was getting worse from my mental health because I wanted nothing but my happiness and my best friends back. I had a few thoughts of kidnapping my best friends so they could be with me forever. I would be happy and experience all the happy moments we would share together again. It was pointless anyway because I was just a 10 year old and couldn't do anything.
During these final months before everyone was all homeschooled for a year, I noticed whenever I tried to be with Melissa, she moved away from me again. I tried many times to catch up with her but she continued moving away. I thought absolutely nothing of it because of a funny joke by the teachers saying we hung out too much and we should be separated. I found it funny because at the time, our friendship was strong and I thought nothing would ever separate us from having fun. So I just thought about it as if she was playing around with that joke. I gave up catching up after Melissa because I was tired and I thought she was playing the joke on me. It turns out, I overheard something she said and she said I was too clingy. I didn't know what it meant and I thought she said a funny word and thought nothing of it. Later on she asked me for a break. I said that it was fine and I thought she meant a break for one day (I thought breaks were meant to be short at the time) and we left each other alone.
It came a few days later where she said she didn't want to be my friend anymore. I then went to hang out with Leah, who I didn't hang out with for a long while, said she also didn't want to be friends with me anymore. I was broken by their words but I just thought it was all a joke to me, because I thought it was dumb to unfriend someone for hanging out with them every day.
Fast forward to 6th grade where we were homeschooled for a year, I was full of hope that I was going to be friends with Melissa again after a long time. Then came 7th grade where I was 12 and I continued to sit with her at lunch again, but this time I felt nothing. There were no fun conversations like we usually had back in elementary. I just felt like I wasn't meant to be there. I still felt the same loneliness, rage, and sadness back like I was in 5th grade. That's when I finally realized I was no longer her friend, and I had so much hate in myself for taking a year to realize I had been blind to all of this. I never felt so much sadness like that in my life. The two friends I had left me, I was really depressed by this reason, and now I constantly question myself wondering what I did wrong. I still grovel over them both. It's been a few years now. Did I do something wrong?

A Shadowrun game using the FATE Core system. The time is 2053, the place is the Seattle Metroplex, and the shadows are about to come alive.
I've been 'translating' the classic 1st, 2nd, and 3rd editions of Shadowrun into the FATE Core system for the past several months and have arrived at a point where playtesting is required. The original rules are absurdly complicated (I wound up having to use an Excel spreadsheet when trying them out to gauge their playability) and there are other aspects of the setting and lore that are badly in need of updating to suit the times. It's my hope that I'll be able to bring the best aspects of Shadowrun forward into a system that promotes fast and engaging play, such as FATE Core, and interest a new generation of players in the Sixth World.
If you're not familiar with FATE, it's a RPG toolkit that's heavily narrative-based and player-driven and is meant to create competent, dynamic, and engaging characters that get to look awesome regularly and encounter much drama while doing so. If you're not familiar with Shadowrun, it's a classic cyberpunk setting, first created in 1989, that contains both advanced technology and magic.
I've been playing RPGs for several years, including Dungeons & Dragons (1st, 2nd, and 5th editions), Legend of the Five Rings (3rd and 5th Editions), Star Wars (D6 and FFG Editions), and I've GMed a couple L5R games. I have a great love for a well-run tabletop RPG game and I want to help others experience the same joy and laughter that I've gotten out of my games. One of the beauties of FATE is that little is required beyond the character sheets, a way to roll dice, and one's imagination.
As to players, I'll admit that I'm not the best person to welcome new players to the hobby. I'm autistic and I can swiftly lose patience with people who can't keep up with 'talking shop,' as it were. So I'm looking for players with enough experience that they're confident in their abilities and knowledge, and with knowledge of the FATE Core system, preferably with knowledge of the Shadowrun setting as well. If you have neither but still have gaming experience, don't be discouraged from applying, but I'll be selecting applicants on a qualifications basis first. Players should also be ready and willing to participate in the creation of the world and the construction of the story they're telling about themselves and that world.
I have similarly high expectations when it comes to attendance. I do understand that real life takes precedence and should be prioritized and am willing to make allowances, but I would prefer that any applicants have a high degree of confidence that they'll be able to regularly attend sessions. FATE is a very cooperative game that's harder to swap out players for if they have to leave. I'm operating in Pacific Time and as I'm extremely busy, my only availability is in the evenings, from 7 PM PST to around 10 PM PST. If pressed, I might be able to come up with a different weekend time, but I'm already in two other games on weekends, so it wouldn't be my preference.
My table welcomes players of all sexes, genders, races, nationalities (although English is my only language, so fluency in it is required), orientations, and neurodiversities. If you cannot do the same, then this table is probably not a good fit for you.
This game will contain mature material, so I'm looking for players who are over 18.

2024.05.20 23:41 LivingOnChemicals O.C.D. robbed me of my preparation for adult life.

I(M20) had (Have) severe Social Anxiety, OCD, Body Dysmorphia etc., to the point of me having to be pulled from school from 5th grade onward. I became entirely unmotivated to even live. I stopped brushing my teeth, showering and over ate to the point of extreme obesity. Luckily my family never gave up and found help. I am still coming out of the other end and getting my health/life back together, Started taking care of myself and fixing the damage. I've lost 60 pounds (450-390-?) , and am in the process of getting my teeth fixed. I have a motivation to live an actual life now. (Shoutout to my homie Clomipramine) And quite frankly, I don't know what to do.
No formal education, no friends, I have my family, but they are already doing their best to support me. I feel as if I just spawned into adulthood with no prior experience, at all. My OCD makes me doubt my abilities, it makes me feel inadequate in every way. This includes intelligence, I am terrified of trying to get an education as an adult and being too moronic to get a G.E.D., even though I was great at school the early years. I have no social skills, I have no life experience. So the idea of going out and doing everything that is expected of the average adult is so foreign and confusing to me it is hard to not feel overwhelmed.
I don't know how taxes work, Insurance, or how owning assets works (legally speaking), nothing. I have the knowledge of a child when it comes to adulting. I’m from Washington State so it isn’t that easy of a trek, which is why I managed to squeeze 11 shows in a span of 7 days. I had four double show days, of which I loved. I prefer seeing shows from the front row because of the added immersiveness factor, not to mention just being so close to the actors that allows you to see and feel the show in a much more intimate manner. Most of the shows I saw on this trip were from the front row with the exception of Sweeney Todd. I go into ranking those seats towards the latter part of this post! Musical theater has helped me heal so much in the past and there wasn’t a better way of doing a “reset” than seeing shows back to back. I also wanted to utilize this post to disclose what I personally thought about each show I saw.
This will be a pretty extensive post so without further adieu, here we go!
Day 1

Hell’s Kitchen (matinee)
Thoughts: I came out of this show kind of realizing why it got the amount of Tony nominations that it got. It definitely caters to the masses as the plot was fairly easy to follow and my god were the actors STELLAR! Literal jaw drop when Shoshana Bean made her first entrance - a true icon in the flesh. I also wasn’t expecting to come out of this show crying as “No One” really got to me since I have such a close bond with my mom. Such a high energy show and it was the perfect show to start my week in the city!
Front Row thoughts: (AA106) I’m 5’9 and didn’t have to break my neck looking up except for when they were utilizing the very top most part of the towers downstage left. Good legroom as well.
Favorite Moment: Jade Milan’s debut as Ali! You can see the amount of support that the cast had for her and to think that this was her very first time doing it w/o any put-ins was beyond astounding. I was so honored to be in the house for her first principal performance!
Notable Mentions: Kecia Lewis - omg she is a star and I was blown away by how moving her performance was as Miss Liza Jane.
Stagedoor Experience: Not too large of a crowd and everyone was very respectful. Most of the ensemble came out to sign, but the only principals that came out were Jade and Kecia.
Other notes: This was a last minute decision and I regret none of it!

Lempicka (evening)
Thoughts: I was a lil confused ngl.. I personally just thought that the plot was all over the place but the cast was 10/10! I remember Amber Iman stating in an interview that they want the audience to NEED intermission and that's exactly how I felt after Act 1. I just felt like I needed room to breathe so I could also come into terms of what I just witnessed. I’ve seen several reviews saying that Eden was flat, but she was going all out on this performance.
Front (ish) Row thoughts: Second row on the aisle (B2) - cute lil interaction from some of the ensemble members. You also still get a full view of the stage. Only had to crane my neck up when they were using the topmost platform on stage.
Favorite Moment: Our Time gave me goosebumps. I like the big ensemble moments where you can literally feel their vibrato in your face!
Notable Mentions: Kyle Brown was on for Tadeusz Lempicki. ALSO Jimin Moon is so cute that is all thank u..
Stagedoor Experience: All the principals came out to sign plus a few members of the ensemble! Eden and Amber really took time with everyone.
Other notes: Love the quarter zip that they had available at the merch stand. Easily the most comfortable piece of merch from all the shows I’ve been to.
Day 2

Sweeney Todd - FINAL PERFORMANCE (matinee)
Thoughts: The energy in the theater for the final performance was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. Everyone was just so excited and you could definitely feel it. Every seat had a reusable Sweeney tote bag as a token for the final show.
Seat Location & Thoughts: First row of the second mezz (MMEZZ A121) - Perfect view of everything. I was surprised that I could still see the facial expressions of everyone on stage.
Favorite Moment: Literally the entirety of the show! Sutton was such a comedic Mrs. Lovett.
Notable Mentions: Joe Locke!! Exceeded my expectations!
Stagedoor Experience: The craziest stagedoor experience on the trip. I believe people camped out for this closing stage door shortly after the performance began. Very crowded but everyone was mostly respectful. I believe only a few of the principals plus some of the ensemble came out to sign. Aaron, Sutton, and Joe did not.
Other notes: Aaron made a quick appearance at the stagedoor. Just kinda peeked his head out to wave and thank everyone for coming.

Titanique (evening)
Thoughts: I have never laughed so much at a show, but Titanique did just that! Dee was phenomenal! Very campy, kooky krazy!!
Front (ish) Row thoughts: Orchestra D107 - basically the third row but it felt like the front as there was an aisle directly in front of you that was used in the show. It’s also directly beside the spot where Celine makes her initial entrance. I got so much interaction from Celine in which at one point she sat on my lap and caressed my face!
Favorite Moment: The encore of MHWGO at the end of the show
Notable Mentions: Marcus Antonio and Anne Fraser Thomas were the absolute standouts for me in this show!
Stagedoor Experience: I highly debated stagedooring this show, to which I ultimately did but it wasn’t my favorite. I am really shy and the whole stagedoor was basically where the balounge was downstairs and it was mostly friends of the actors having their post show mingle with the cast. I was super shy to approach Dee and Lindsay. I ultimately decided not to interact unless they approached me, but was able to get Michael Williams to sign my poster and my program. Super nice dude and took the time to talk to me!
Other notes: It was a trek to get to the Daryl Roth from Sweeney. I didn't do any research to where it was but was a little surprised to find out that it was all the way by Union Square Park.
Day 3

Chicago (evening)
Thoughts: I’ve seen Chicago three times (the international tour circa 2014) in Manila but was late to all three times which meant I missed All That Jazz each time. Glad to say I wasn’t late and was finally able to see it live! Robyn Hurder fits the role of Velma and I really love how much she made it her own!
Front Row thoughts: BB106 - You’re right in the heart of the action. The stage was low enough that I didn’t have to tilt my neck all too much. Also the legroom in the front row at the Ambassador is very ample.
Favorite Moment: All That Jazz but also Razzle Dazzle
Notable Mentions: Max Clayton and Michael Scirrotto - I’m just in awe of how beautiful these men are.. hehe
Stagedoor Experience: Bianca and Max Von Essen came out to sign. I was able to tell Bianca how she was my first Roxie Hart way back and how much of an honor it was for me to see her again and now on Broadway!

Back to the Future (evening)
Thoughts: Probably the most tech heavy show that I saw on this trip. I had seen the movie for the first time on my plane ride to the city a few days prior and I think it was a good idea to approach the musical with the context from the movie in mind. They had obviously altered a few of the notable parts of the plot to fit the stage adaptation better but I felt like it worked pretty well. The special effects on this show were absolutely amazing. Casey Likes has such a great stage presence.
Front Row thoughts: (Center Orch A111) Absolutely loved being front row and center for such a tech heavy show. However, the stage at the Winter Garden was probably one of the higher stages on this trip. The only thing that really bothered me about this show was the audience etiquette of the family behind me who were obviously translating the show for their youngest daughter without trying to be mindful of those around them as they were conversing in full on regular speaking voice and not hush hush. I glared at them midway through act 1 but to no avail so I had to bring in an usher to talk to them at intermission to which it did nothing as this continued throughout the whole second act. All that aside, ALSO SPOILERS AHEAD: When it came time to fly the car out for the finale, it was cool to be in such close proximity to the actual robotic arm/mechanism that flips the car upside down over the audience. I got to say hi to Casey and Roger as the car was slowly going upside down!
Favorite Moment: Something About That Boy was such a cute act 1 finale and something about that song is so catchy!
Notable Mentions: Hugh Coles was a standout! Will Branner was also on for Biff at this show!
Stagedoor Experience: Jonalyn, Aaron, Katie, Jelani, JJ, and Casey came out to sign!

Day 5 - My Birthday!

Cabaret at The Kit Kat Club (matinee)
Thoughts: HOLY FUCK! I’ve never experienced such an immersive theater going experience. From the shots of peach schnapps as you enter the theater, to how much they’ve transformed the August Wilson, I was gagged. I want to preface this by saying that I went into this musical completely blind with only the most recent west end cast recording to kind of give me a rough idea of the show’s plot. No regrets there. I guess I came out of that show feeling a little underwhelmed. I literally remember verbally uttering the words “thats it?” during the finale blackout. However with all that aside, the cast was absolutely superb. Experiencing Bebe Neuwirth in the flesh was sort of an out of body experience.
Front (ish) Row thoughts: First row of the new West Mezzanine (Mezz 4 Row A Seat 220). Don’t get me wrong, these seats were absolutely perfect with just the right amount of being so close to the action, yet being at a good distance away from the stage to take everything in as a whole. However, I was reading a few reviews of the west mezz prior to going in and had heard about the bias of performing towards the “real” side of the house. Here are my thoughts around that - It's true - there was a clear bias to performing towards that side of the house. I felt as if they were really only looking at our side because they had to. Don’t get me wrong, I could see their effort at performing and catering to both sides of the house, but you end up feeling a little disconnected as most of the numbers do cater to the “real” side of the house. All that aside, it was still a great experience!
Favorite Moment: When Sally initially gets introduced, she literally walks through the first row of the west mezz. I was a little shookt as the space was a little tight but she gets through to the other side witn no problem! I got a cute little moment with her as she momentarily complimented my outfit as she puts her hand on my face to pinch my cheeks!
Notable Mentions: The ensemble was absolutely superb and took the immersiveness of the show to another level! I would definitely splurge on stage side seating the next time I go because you get so much more interaction from them!
Stagedoor Experience: Eddie was the only one who came out to sign.
Other notes: I purchased the Pineapple Room upgrade and it was worth it in my opinion. There was just a bit of confusion earlier on in the experience. I was under the assumption that the Pineapple Room was its own lounge, to which it is! However, the thing that I didn’t realize (and it wasn’t really clear in the emails that they send you) was that the actual experience starts once they open the doors to the actual house as it’s a room that's off to the side of the east mezz. That’s where they seat you and if you were going solo like me, you get paired up with another person going solo. I got to share a full bottle of champagne with another gentleman who only had a couple of glasses. So in actuality I had a whole bottle of champagne to myself! The attendants were super nice! The room had three private bathrooms which were a luxury! No lines at all to go to the restroom and they were clean! The whole room also acts as your coat check, as you can leave your belongings in there but they do ask you to take everything back with you after intermission. Getting to the east mezz from the west mezz is a trek so you do have to be mindful of that! The attendants also found out it was my birthday and once I was back in the lounge during intermission for desserts, I had found a cute little handwritten note as well as a free bar of toblerone from them. I can confidently say that this was one of the highlights of my trip!

Wicked (evening)
Thoughts: It was nice to see the show that started it all for me! Being in the Gershwin was just such a special moment for me on this trip. Wicked was my introduction to musical theater and seeing it for the first time on Broadway was truly something really special to me. This marked my 5th time seeing Wicked after seeing the international tour cast in Manila years ago with Suzie Mathers as Glinda and Jemma Rix as Elphaba. MKM and Alexandra Socha were such a delightful pair and it was nice to see their fresh take on the role!
Front Row thoughts: (ORCH BB110) Wicked’s front row was TIGHT. Probably the tightest front row seat on this trip.
Favorite Moment: There's just nothing compared to seeing defying gravity happen right in front of your eyes. No matter how many times I've seen the show, it always feels like my first time whenever we get to that point.
Notable Mentions: n/a
Stagedoor Experience: Jordan, Jake, and Brad came out to sign.
Other notes: As much as I love Wicked, I truly felt like I could’ve skipped this and seen The Outsiders instead, but there isn’t anything like saying you’ve seen Wicked on Broadway! Also, the last time I saw the show was in 2014, but I was a little taken aback by Thank Goodness and how the platform Glinda stands in was just a tad bit off the center. I think I remember it being much more centered the last time I saw it, but maybe that’s just my mind playing tricks on me.
Day 6

The Great Gatsby (matinee)
Thoughts: It still boggles my mind that the only Tony nom this show received was for costume design. This show probably had one of the more elaborate set pieces that really draws you in. All the principals were really on their game and I have nothing bad to say about them and this production! The only comical thing I can say was how they did Myrtle’s death. I feel like they could’ve been a little more creative than how it came to be as it was merely a flail and fall to the floor moment. I think this was the show that I had high expectations for and I was not let down!
Front Row thoughts: (Center Orch B108) The leg room was ample and the stage was at a good height that it didn’t cut off the performer’s feet. My only complaint was how tight the seats were at the Broadway Theatre.
Favorite Moment: New Money had me gagged!!
Notable Mentions: We started with a full company but Sarah Chase was out of the show after intermission with Ryah Nixon stepping in for her. It was such a great experience seeing two Myrtles in one show! Ryah was great and props to her for going on at the last minute!
Stagedoor Experience: All the principals except for John and Sara came out to sign. I believe a couple ensemble members also came out. Everyone at the stage door was also super respectful to the cast as well as the fans. I was half expecting it to go the other way around as the majority of the principals have such a huge following.
Other notes: Was not expecting the gunshot to be as loud as it was. Like I can usually prepare myself for it, but this one shookt me with how loud it echoed in the theater.

The Notebook (evening)
Thoughts: Where do I even begin with this show? I wasn’t expecting for me to love this show as much as I did prior to seeing it and all the mixed reviews that it got. This show easily ranks as number 1 for the entire trip. I came into this without knowing anything about The Notebook like I had an idea of what it was but I’ve never seen the movie nor read the book. My only source of knowledge beforehand was about 5 songs from the cast recording and even then I couldn’t make myself listen to the whole thing because I wanted to see it with no spoilers. I’m honestly glad that I went in blind because it took me on such a wild roller coaster ride that I want to ride over and over again. I wasn’t really expecting myself to cry but I was sobbing by the end of act one and was even more of a mess by the end of act two. I was moved in ways I didn’t expect and they timed the comedic moments perfectly to counteract a heavy scene that just occurred.
Front Row thoughts: (Center Orch B106) I was expecting to get wet from the rain scene but it wasn’t really that big of a deal! I loved being front row for this show for the sole reason that Joy Woods belts My Days literally like a foot away from you. The stage was at the perfect height that it didn’t require any neck breaking.
Favorite Moment: I Wanna Go Back was the first song that made me cry out of the blue. I didn’t expect it as it kind of just happened. Another notable moment was during the finale when everyone was on the walk-around part of the stage and Dorcas was directly in front of me while I uttered the words thank you as I sobbed my eyes out. She replied with another thank you and that meant a lot. I thanked her for that moment when I met her at the stage door!
Notable Mentions: John Cardoza! Holy fuck can that boy sing!
Stagedoor Experience: A few of the principals came out to sign as well as the majority of the ensemble. It was such an honor for Mary Ann to come out and sign.
Other notes: I need it to tour already because I would pay good money to see it again live! I have no words to describe how much I’ve fallen in love with this show. I’m kind of just at a loss for words with how much this has moved me.
Day 7

Thoughts: Beautiful used to be my favorite jukebox musical, but this is now number one! Very pop-y as expected but the songs worked so well and just intertwined with the plot seamlessly. This performance was also Oliver Tompsett’s broadway debut! The energy in the house was electric and his first entrance was one hell of a moment!
Front Row thoughts: (Orch A108) I wasn’t expecting to say this, but this show probably had the best front row. I’ve heard of reviews detailing how high and close the stage was to this front row, but it worked in my favor due to my height as I was eye level with the stage. The seats were roomy and the leg room was ample. The only downside was some of the props hindering your view of the stage during two numbers in the show. That wasn’t a big deal and was honestly not a problem.
Favorite Moment: Roar gave me goosebumps but also That’s the Way It Is!
Notable Mentions: Literally e v e r y o n e
Stagedoor Experience: All the principals came out except for Ben and Betsy. Almost everyone in the ensemble also signed!
Other notes: Seeing those costumes up close was breathtaking. So much attention to details! Everyone in this show also smelled so good. Obviously being that close, you're able to smell fragrances but I'd just like to say that Betsy Wolfe smells like eucalyptus and mint which I think fits her personality! Hope that's not too weird.. SKJDFGHKSAJDGH

2024.05.20 22:49 i_will_mid DO NOT GOON DURING CARS!!

had the great idea of procrastinating until 3 weeks before my MCAT to start studying. realized it’s not so easy (shocking). i’m doomed. desperately i search for solutions that will remedy my 5th grade reading comprehension. nothings working. i get desperate. i see a reddit post on MCAT telling me that to succeed in cars, i have to learn to sexualize the passages. i thought fuck it, why not? terrible idea. i could not contain myself after the first passage. i splurged. with sticky keys, sticky hands, and a new pair of underwear, i attempted to return to a heightened level of concentration, but to no avail. instead of improving my CARS score, it ended up dropping by 2 points.
to anyone thinking about attempting this method, please reconsider. especially on a FL.

2024.05.20 22:48 The_Better_Paradox Just remembered the terrible life I had because of them

My parents had a window in my room (which opened inside the house and in direct view from the kitchen), and could only be opened/closed outside of my room (from another room). They did it so they could "watch" over me, whenever they felt like doing so. It's not like i ever indulged in self harm. Honestly, if they had the technical expertise, they would had installed spywares on my phone and probably cameras too.
I used to shut my doors whenever I didn't want to see them or they were fighting or shouting or when I became really angry at them so I closed the door to vent my anger privately, because I am really sensitive to sound and it's unbearing to hear them shouting at me or anyone else. Ofc, they once removed the locks too. I somehow got around it.
Behaviours like this and below made me incapable of living freely, even if I'm alone and incapable of enjoying myself.
I really liked reading books so in SUMMER VACATION of class 7th, I started reading HP on my tablet, which they started having trouble with and they nagged and nitpicked about it so much that I didn't touch a book (which didn't relate to school's course) for a long time. Just recently, I'm trying to revive my love for books.
I enjoyed building stuff and I had this idea of building a car which could float and run on water too, viz an amphibion car. Now, I didn't get any support to build such stuff so I used to break my toys and other useless stuff to build them. For the tires, I was using DVDs to create hollow tired. I cropped them small and used two of them to make tires (hollow and spacious from the inside). Then I sealed the tire with tapes. This would've worked as a big hollow tire which would've made my small car floatable enough due to buoyancy They threw it away because "oh, it was garbage so I threw it away. "
I used to like playing with other kids. Apparently, playing for 2-3 hours was a lot for a 5th grader with decent grades ( 95% in 5th) so they basically discouraged me to play with other kids and I, after some time, just shut myself inside the house.
I hated tutors, I liked to learn in a flexible environment like school. In 5th, as I told before, I got 95% but for some reason, they had to hire a tutor in the starting of 6th class because apparently, I wasn't paying "enough attention" to studies. Now, this was suffocating and my grades dipped to 89 and 88% though near the end of the year, I had to irritate the tutor to the extent that he willingly stopped coming to teach me. In 7th, it took me half a year to get familiar again with studing on my own and by the end of it, my grades of finals was 97% again.
No grade was ever enough for them so I stopped improving but my grades never went below 90. Always the "why can't you be the first? The neighbourhood girl is first everytime!"
I also used to get medals (1st rank on state level) in the olympiads they made me participate. It never satisfied them and they still were dissatisfied with me as to why I didn't get better school grades. Naturally, I had enough and I stopped making efforts for olympiads at all.
They ALWAYS ALWAYS compared me to a girl in the neighbourhood who was one class higher and why I didn't get better grades than her.
My father really hated me. When I was less than 8 yo, my father, for whatsoever reason, was talking to a colleague and told them that he wasn't at home. My baby brother was crying but it was okay for the colleague to listen to it because "a baby on outside could be crying" but when I sneezed by mistake, he started shouting at me that the colleague may think he was at home and that someone inside the home had sneezed.
Ofc, I used to get beaten every now and then for such stupid reasons and my mother, she willingly let me suffer. That's why I hate her equally too. I just remembered, I was beaten by him everytime because I didn't stop crying after getting beaten, until I stopped crying. Once, I was watching Albert Einstein's documentary, when I was in 7th. My father saw me watching it and I got beaten to the point that both of my hands swelled and I couldn't even bend them for days. Even in 12th, I got the threat that he'd beat me like the same as if it's something to boast about 🤢
When I was less than 8yo, I used to watch tv, I don't know how much but ig it warranted them to cut off the TV connection permanently so I didn't had anything to entertain me for more than 5 years, no tv and obviously no games.
When I was around 14 years old, I used to still sleep with my parents Because that room had the only AC in their home.
Now, my younger brother was like 6yo, used to fight a lot with me and ofc, I was shouted at by my father, to the extent that one day, he shouted at me to leave the room in the middle of the night. I had to. Now, the city I was living in, had a very horrible summer, maybe 40 degrees. Now, I had to sleep in such heat, with only a fan above my head. I just beared with it and slept and got accustomed to it. Now the hypocrite started shouting at me as to why I didn't sleep in the AC instead of the warm room I was sleeping in, that I should sleep with them. I probably accepted his invitation but I still got shouted at everyday until I permanently left their room.
They even had problems when I read encyclopedias. I really liked reading the only books I wanted and got, to the extent that I could turn to the page of a particular topic instantly. Ofc, they had to nitpick & nag me about it and so, I never touched them, ever again. These books were really precious to me because I was fascinated by science. I always wanted a telescope and I even asked one for my birthday. Ofc, they didn't. They could, they had the financial leeway to buy one, but they didn't. Because "I would become too busy and spend my night waking up, stargazing"
When you systematically stop me from doing anything I like, what do I become but a shell of a human being? Who doesn't like anything anymore? Who doesn't like social interaction anymore? Who doesn't like to breathe in the same country as them? Who gets outburst and cry whenever I really really think about what they did? Writing all this, I realised that many of the emotions and memories I'm experiencing/reliving right now were suppressed to save my sanity. They always used this to demonise me in front of my relatives, because I couldn't defend myself at all because I didn't remember anything but only the emotions I felt at the time.
"Oh but we brought you everything we could? You should respect your parents and not badmouth them" as if I wanted money. I only wanted love but I got conditions to fulfil to be that ideal child they couldn't be, an all rounder, the jack of all trades. Now, I hate my country, my religion and everything that minutely relates to them. I wanna tell more things but that'll identify my religion or my country which I don't want myself to be related to, AT ALL!
I swear to god, if I let them continue, I'd have been hit by "why are you breathing this way" one day.
I remember when I got bad grades (unusual and rare) in the monthly test. Other kids remarked how since I usually get great grades, I'd not be scolded or anything. I laughed from the inside, if only they knew how much I suffer because of being academically above average, how I'd probably be beaten or nagged about it for days on end.
I only wanted to talk about the window in my room but one thing let to another and I wrote many things I didn't have the intention of. Maybe this seems entitled, maybe I'm too privileged to think this way. And I understand this probably doesn't make sense to other readers but I just wanted to vent to the extent I'm not identifiable.
I don't really have a "reason" to live, I'm living only because I'm not dead yet and dying is painful. I've great friends but all of this is unbearable. Afterall, they didn't have to suffer like me. I can't live for the sake of my own enjoyment, i never was allowed to develop that ability. I think maybe if I'm in a relationship, I'll be able to live for the other person. It's a big maybe because I don't know, have never been in a relationship yet. Obviously, if they ever had found (which they would be able to), I would've been beaten a lot. The only thing I can do nonstop now is code, build stuff, because to me, it's a window to the outside free world. It's the only thing I can do without getting depressed. I liked physics and maths, but other actions of them (admitting me in a non-flexible, highly competive and depressing school to learn maths, physics) killed my love for them. I think I'll try to learn them, on my own, in the future. I hope I can.
They are pigs, they're the most disgusting creatures. And I'll never see them again when I'm financially free but is doing anything worth it? I don't know. I really hated calling them father or mother in this post, they're worse than pigs to me.
I'm the most optimistic guy. I try to cheer up others and that they should learn to be optimistic etc. but in reality, I'm a mess because I can't even be happy. And it's hypocritical because I ask and advice others to be happy when I myself can't be. I just don't want others to end up like me.
I have a younger brother and I think he will grow on their side because my parents have always been trying to create enmity between us. I like him but I don't. He has purposefully got me beaten by fake crying, and framing me for things I didn't do. Ofcourse, what I said didn't matter and I still got beaten by them. My brother exploited this a lot. (He was 8, I was 16)
Idk, I still feel that I should one day repay any monetary debts and discomfort I caused them and then be done with them, which would mean cutting everyone in the family off because they'd side with my parents and console me to talk to them. What should I do when faced with this? Do i have to pay them back at all? My consciousness doesn't allow me to not pay them back. I think I should pay them back and only then stop talking at all. I probably shouldn't, I'd like to hear others opinion on this.
I have had to explain myself so many of times that explaining myself to anyone is a trigger to me and now I hate doing that and think of it subconsciously as a personal attack.
I once went to a therapist with my mom. After two session, she prescribed me depression and insomnia pills. This gave my mom the opportunity to call me crazy at home. See, you ARE Mental. "I'm depressed". What are you even depressed of? You don't need to be depressed. Like sure, it's a switch I can turn off when I feel like it when I've to live with the cause of my depression everyday.
I think I don't have anything to share so I'll stop. Some thoughts came at random times so I added them where I felt it fit or just at the end if it didn't. The grammar is a mess because I can't think straight when I think about this and other things.
My favourite person in fiction is The Doctor from Doctor Who. He's free, curious and a kind person. I want to be like him, even after all of this.
tl/dr My childhood was marked by my parents' controlling and emotionally abusive behavior, which stifled my interests and passions. They constantly compared me to others, imposed unreasonable expectations, and created a toxic environment at home. Despite my achievements in school and competitions, I was never able to satisfy them, and their frequent physical and emotional abuse left me with lasting scars. I'm struggling with depression and trying to rebuild my life. I want to cut ties with my parents but feel conflicted about repaying them first. My focus now is on healing, finding joy and meaning in my life again, to make sense of it.

why did I have to ruin so much even prior to birth. my mother was already unhappy with my father. alcoholism and negligent laziness was a prominent issue. Divorce seemed imminent, but I was in her womb. I existed and that changed everything. I'm the reason she spent the next 13 years of her life married to that man. I am the reason for allowing him to hurt me and my siblings. all of that pain for what? Me, a proper disappointment. the little boy who was so strange and antisocial that he had no idea how to make friends. the boy who up until the age of 14 considered his biggest bully his best friend. the little boy in 4th grade who got soda poured all over him at a football game by a group of kids his age. that same little boy who laughed along with them because he wanted to make friends. the boy who could never feel adequate. not amazing, incredible, or astounding, just tolerable. Academics, which was the only thing that he could seemingly be worth while in, was not enough. performing well in school was not a great achievement. in fact, it was expected of him. his achievements were not such instead they were to be recognized as plainly as breathing. He had attempted other things but whether it came from underperforming or lack of support, they wouldn't last long. he could not be recognized on the national stage for middle school mathematics. the trips around the country to different states for his accomplished siblings reminded him of his failures. the thousands of dollars poured into their hobbies reminded him that his weren't even worth a Wednesday evening. he is lazy. he is overweight. he is unattractive. he is now in highschool. weight loss has affected his life greatly. people had actually found him attractive. but not in the way he had hoped. shallow love could not fill the gaping pit within him. he had never felt emptier. his eating habits controlled him. he feared food. he still does. his body was failing him. his blood thinned and his energy diminished. he had anorexia. he listened to his doctors and family and he tried to fix it. he regained his energy, but also his weight. why must his body fail to function when not even at a desirable point. why must his personality which has been molded to the people around him countless times change again. why must it still change. does he have his own personality? has he ever? or was he always some Frankensteined being of the random qualities of those who surround him. no matter where he is, he feels strange. no matter who he is with, he feels afraid. no matter what he does, he feels inadequate. he is not enough. nothing he does is enough. nothing he thinks is enough. nothing he says is enough. he is so out of tune with everyone around him that he can't seem to relate to a single person. he is so mad at himself for everything he hasn't and has done. it's awful. it's horrible and he should feel ashamed. he often wonders if these things he writes are valid. or are they just the ramblings of a self centered child. he often wonders if these writings shall be his message to the world before he departs. but what purpose would it serve? will the pills it takes to overdose be enough? will the razor it takes to slice up his wrist be enough? will the rope he ties around his neck be enough? will the tall building he jumps from be enough? will he ever be enough? why should someone who has never lived up to anything continue to strive for contentment. would his attempt on his life even be genuine? or would it just be another beg of attention? is it to convince others he's enough or is it himself. is the possibility of death worth being taken seriously? is death the desired outcome? he does not know but he feels that the path either way will bring him closure or assurance. perhaps he should have stayed mute like he was at 4. his attempts at being human have only failed miserably. everything hurts him and everything bothers him. he is not sure why he cries so often. or why he feels to way he feels. he is medicated but does not feel it is enough. how fitting. he both hopes that this is the last things he ever writes or that he will atleast feel equal with his surroundings with his family, with his friends, with anyone or anything. sometimes he wishes he could just lay in a psych ward. maybe then his problems will be enough. or perhaps the best option is to end it. he often prefers the latter but shys away from it. because if he did so he would feel bad for his mom.

I had to read this in the 5th grade in 1992 and have no idea what the title is. It takes place during the Great Depression and in the Bronx. These two young brothers get left alone to fend for themselves for some reason.
The older brother has to go out and get a job to help support himself and his younger brother. I feel like they also wind up sleeping in the basement of an abandoned building or something. I feel like the father took work in another state and the mother died while he was gone? Could be making that up.
I can't remember if our teacher ever had us actually finish reading it but I don't remember how it ends. I tried Googling stories about kids during the Great Depression and there's entirely too many hits. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Let's just get to the gist to it. There's this boy, who we're going to call glasses. We both have fourth period math together with each other and sit right beside each other. We sit in groups of four in the class, and our table is centered towards the back of the room. Every day I had to help him with his work because he has trouble with understanding the lesson we're in. It's not like I'm a super smart student, but at least I understood the material. It wasn't a big deal for me. His grades overall for math and science are terrible. It's not a secret, the teacher has even made jokes before in the class about his grade. Everyone else at our table was pretty much the same way, so I felt bad that he had to sit with all of us.
I'm not sure how we got on the topic, but at one point, I was basically doing his work for him because he said he didn't understand anything, and in all honesty, I don't think he even was trying to do it. He had to have had some knowledge about what he was doing though, because when he finally did his own work, he would get every answer wrong. That didn't stop him from making dumbass remarks, using his phone to look up the answers to the questions, and watching tiktoks on his phone. The only reason I would have been helping him out, is because it makes the class more enjoyable. If you're just sitting there by yourself, the class can be really boring. He has this habit where he would just say the most randomness statements. For example, once we were in the middle of doing an assigned online lesson, he just randomly turns to me, and tells me I'm gay. He has no filter on his mouth. I don't pay him any attention, as I have never felt attraction to a guy.
Not saying he's ugly or anything, he's pretty average looking. I've seen worse looking people. He's got this nice taper haircut, and looks good when he keeps it freshly trimmed, he wears those clear glasses, and has a pretty nice big nose. Not in a bad way, but a good size, and shape. I don't think I've ever seen him without a black or grey hoodie. I'm pretty sure he has an addiction. He has a pretty average body too, a little skinny, but it suits him. It's not like it's bad or anything. I don't judge anyone on their looks. We're both about the same height, with him being about an inch taller, maybe? His personality is probably his most unique..? Interesting? attribute. He's not one to hold back from sharing his thoughts. Sometimes I have to put up with him making fun of me and my personality. Sometimes in a playful way, but I have a few traits that can be picked on. One thing that is probably his biggest flaw is his over confidence, and the fact that he thinks he's the best at everything.
He's constantly bragging about things. He's the kind of person that makes you want to punch him. Not the worst thing in the world, but not the best. When we first started having conversations, it was pretty casual and chill, but then it escalated into him getting to the point of being aggravating. He would say the stupidest stuff. He would make fun of the way I looked, my clothes, how tall I am, and just the way I spoke. I'm not a super social person, so it's not that hard to make me uncomfortable. But still, when he wasn't annoying me to the point of begging the teacher to move my seat, I could have some decent conversations with him. He wasn't all that bad. He just didn't have the filter between his brain and his mouth. That's something I respect about him. It's a good trait to have. He's the type of person that will always be honest, and won't sugar coat his words. Even if it might be considered offensive. We'd have a lot of occurrences when he would say something funny. I can't even count how many times he made me smile, and even laugh. I was never embarrassed or ashamed about laughing. Not once.
I can tell he likes the way I laugh. Whenever he gets me to laugh, he'll be staring at me with this big grin on his face. He doesn't hide the fact that he wants to stare at me. When he says something funny, and he gets my attention, he'll give me a smile. It's not a forced one, it's natural, and I can tell that he genuinely means it. Sometimes I'd feel him looking at me and I'd catch him staring. It was usually a quick glance, and he'd turn his head away. But I could see him looking. At first I was confused, but I eventually got used to it. I'm not going to lie, it does make me nervous. I don't like being stared at. It makes me feel awkward and uncomfortable. But I never told him that. He was probably just trying to get my attention.
He's got a very strong sense of humor, and a lot of the things he would say, even the most serious and inappropriate things, are actually really funny. The way he speaks, and how he carries himself, I can tell he has a lot of self confidence, and a big ego. He's not afraid to show it either. It's almost like a form of self expression. It's hard to explain. The way he expresses his personality, it's something you have to see. The funny thing is, he's not even a good student. I have no idea why he was placed in a class that was obviously above his grade level. The only reason he's probably passing is because the teacher lets him goof off. The way he talks and acts, I'm pretty sure the teacher knows that he's a big distraction to the class, and doesn't want to have to deal with him. So she gives him the benefit of the doubt. I have no idea why he even cares so much about his grades. He always talks about how he doesn't care, and that his grades don't matter. The thing is, his behavior shows the opposite. Every day he'll come into class, and sit there waiting for the teacher to finish instruction, and when we began to work, he asks me if I can help him. Sometimes he'll just copy my answers. I've never said no, and have always helped him out. I've tried giving him hints and suggestions about the material, but he just doesn't listen.
It's not like it matters to me anyway. If I'm not helping him, he'll ask another student. He's a real pain in the ass, but I don't blame him. If I were in his situation, I'd be the same way. He's not the best student, and probably one of the dumbest kids in the school. The funny thing is, is that he acts like he's so much smarter than me. Like he's better than everyone else. But he's not. He's just a stupid, annoying kid who's not very smart. But he tries. And that's what's important. So once again, we're sitting at our table, doing an assigned lesson, and everyone else is talking to the table mates or doing their own thing. I'm pretty sure the teacher was helping out other students who was stuck on a question. We were sitting right next to each other. I was doing my work, while he was on his phone and had barely even began the assignment. That's when I felt a hand rubbing up and down my thigh. I was wearing some heavy baggy jeans, and could feel his hand moving up and down. I looked and stared at him while removing his hand. He looked at me with this knowing grin, and turned his attention back to his phone. I couldn't even concentrate at that exact moment. He was just acting like nothing had happened. I could feel my heart beating fast and my face was hot. I don't know why, but it was.
A few more minutes went by and the hand returned to my thigh. I tried shaking it off, but he wasn't having it. He wasn't letting go. So I gave up and left his hand there. I couldn't even finish the problem I was on, I just sat there letting his hand rub up and down my thigh. I looked over at him, and he was just staring at me with a grin on his face. His hand was just gently rubbing, up and down, up and down. Then he stopped, and he slowly removed his hand. He turned back to his phone. I don't know what I was thinking, but I reached my hand over to his thigh. I didn't look at him, and just placed my hand on his thigh. It was a pretty firm squeeze, and he flinched slightly. It was almost as if his entire body stiffened. I practically froze up since I forgot to do the whole rubbing motion. It was probably the most awkward moment of my life. It wasn't the way I wanted to react, but my body did what it had to do. I started slowly, but firmly massaging his thigh, and could feel him starting to relax. His eyes were glued to his phone, and he wasn't paying attention to the hand that was rubbing up and down.
Eventually, I removed my hand as the end of class was nearing. He and a few other students started standing up and gathering their things. I remained in my seat, as I felt a slight stiffness in my pants. My heart was racing, and I could feel my hands starting to get sweaty. I wasn't expecting anything like this to happen. It was awkward, but I had this.. lustful feeling in my stomach. As I sat there, he went on the other side of me and slyly pressed his crotch up against my shoulder. I could feel heat radiating from his body. It was obvious why it was so warm, and I knew what was happening. It was a weird sensation. It's hard to describe. Part of a fanfic project I've been doing where I basically re-enact subtitles for battleground locations for the DW games from 2-to-5XL, as the Orochi games stopped adding extra prefixes and suffixes to the location names (likely for good reason given the combined world's setting).
These said subtitles are seen in the stage intros, and I mainly try my best to take from the original Japanese versions to translate them into English without using their localized versions.
For any geology experts and/or those who have access to the original Japanese text versions of the classic PS2 era Musou games, please feel free to debunk and/or add to the info of these location subtitles.
This time, I'll be tackling Si Province, AKA Sili. There's gonna be A LOT to cover here unlike Ji Province.

>司州 AKA 司隸州 (Sizhou AKA Silizhou/Shishuu AKA Shireishuu)

>Si Province AKA Sili Province (Admin Province AKA Admin Servant Province)

Very oddly enough, I mainly learned of the name Sili through the Three Kingdoms Monopoly-styled game, Rich Under Heaven 4, AKA Millionaire of Three Kingdoms 4.
Another odd thing is in DW4, isn't not a selectable province as its own category of stages, yet Luoyang is instead the category. A number of Si Province stages are within the Luoyang category though.

>Si Province, He'nan Directory (Admin Province, River South Directory)

This is actually the location for the "Yellow Turban Fortress" AKA "Yellow Turban Fortress Offense & Defense Battle" (黄巾砦攻防戦, Koukinsai Koubousen), despite it using the Guandu map (then again, Guandu is also in Si Province, but within a different prefecture).
- By that proxy with the Yellow Turban Menace stage taking place in Xu Province, it's assumed that via a trifecta of provinces, both Si and Xu were respectively being tackled as the southwestern and southeastern fronts before pushing onwards to the central north at Ji Province.
Localized as "Si Province, He Nan Yin" in the English versions of DW4.

Original location, and the actual historical area southward of Luoyang there Sun Jian engaged Dong Zhuo's forces and defeated them with ease (NOT in the novel).
By that proxy, the location of Yang'ren Castle (陽人城; Yang'rencheng/Youjinjou) should also be there; I'd like to imagine the castle being anywhere other than south/below of Dagu/Big Valley Gate should it ever be included in a Musou game as a non-DW9 stage.
Here indeed I use the Traditional Chinese character 關 for "gate/pass" instead of the Japanese one 関 (which is NOT the same as the simplified Chinese version for the character 关).

Same deals for both of these locations. Initially I assumed He'nan to be a ministry 省 instead of a directory 尹.
So the fun fact is, Hulao/Tiger Gaol Gate was localized and/or formatted differently across the games in these specific cases:
- DW2/Shin Sangoku Musou 1: "司州, 虎牢関" in OG Japanese, and "Si Territory, Hu Lao Gate" as localized.
- DW3/Shin Sangoku Musou 2: "司州, 虎牢関" in OG Japanese just like before and same with "Si Territory, Hu Lao Gate" in the localized release, but only in the Xtreme Legends AKA Moushouden release does it change the subtitle to "Si Province, Hu Lao Gate" onwards.
  - Sishui Gate is indeed mis-localized as the Fanshui Gate, and it's still called Sishui Gate (Shisuikan) in the OG Japanese script.
- DW4/Shin Sangoku Musou 3-onwards: "Hu Lao Gate, Si Province" localized, but the OG Japanese versions have the full subtitle of "司州河南尹, 虎牢関".
- For Sishui Gate in particular before Warriors Orochi and DW6, it was localized as "Si Shui Gate, Si Province", with the OG Japanese being "司州河南尹, 汜水関".

Also of course, present in Dong Zhuo's Legend Mode, "The Ten Eunuchs" AKA "Ten Eunuchs Subduing Battle" (十常侍討伐戦, Juujouji Toubatsusen) and in the "Ten Eunuchs Rebellion/Riot" in DW5XL.
- In this case however, it's been formatted merely as 司州, 洛陽 (Si Province, Luoyang), as perhaps Luoyang may or may not be within the same directory as both Hulao and Sishui Gates. I'm gonna need an expert opinion to know if Luoyang itself was in He'nan or not.

The interior of Luoyang used for Diaochan's Legend Mode "Assassinate Dong Zhuo" AKA "Dong Zhuo Assassination Battle" (董卓暗殺戦, Toutaku Ansatsusen) and the Lü Bu's Revolt/Riot stage using the Nan'yang stage. Localized as "Luo Yang Castle, Si Province" in both cases.

Pretty much the reason why the Yellow Turban Fortress stage reuses this very map due to being within the same province, though of course, different directory/county/prefecture.
Note that the 牟 character can be said in pinyin as either "Mou" or "Mu", and same with the on'yomi being either "Bou" or "Mu". Games themselves prefer the former.
- Using different characters, Zhongmou/Chuubou (仲謀) is Sun Quan's style name.
Often formatted like so across the games:
- DW2/Shin Sangoku Musou 1 and in DW3/Shin Sangoku Musou 2: "中牟県, 官渡" in OG Japanese, localized as "Zhong Mou Province, Guan Du". Changed to "Zhong Mou District, Guan Du" in 3XL's localization.
- DW4/Shin Sangoku Musou 3: Oddly formatted as "Guan Du, Si Province" localized or "司州, 官渡" in the OG Japanese versions. No idea why the prefecture in the subtitle was taken out. Also shown that way for the "Campaign against Cao Cao" AKA "Cao Cao Subduing Battle" (曹操討伐戦, Sou Sou Soudatsusen).
- And of course I can't confirm at all in the 5th installment solely cause there's always those special intro cutscenes between Cao Cao, Yuan Shao, Zhang He, Xiahou Dun, Guan Yu and Cao Pi that plays.

I thought this was inaccurate until I saw a map by someone of DW9's take on China, and indeed, the DW4 Luoyang map set was indeed accurate; a bit of ways off from Luoyang's westward route, Tong Gate indeed bridges the route between it and Chang'an.
The special intro cutscenes make it impossible to confirm the subtitle in DW3, but alas, in both the 4th and 5th installments, the full subtitle of "司州弘農郡, 潼関" is used. Localized as "Tong Gate, Si Province".

2024.05.20 02:24 KittyKatSupwize Am I over reacting to my (33M) husband not wanting to renew our vows with me (30F)?

UPDATE: a lot of people have opinions omg lol. As I stated in a comment and I’ve stated to my husband multiple times (even when we were planning our wedding) the whole massive wedding thing wasn’t my style and I was doing it for him. Because I love him and that’s what you do for the people you love: you compromise, I was happy I got the guest count down to 180 from 250 and was able to talk him out of a church since I’m not religious! I don’t like being the center of attention and that’s what the bride is. But I did it, and it was fun, even if it was torture at times too. I literally just thought this vow renewal would be fun, and a way to celebrate a milestone that I think is a big deal. And being able to say you got married in Vegas is just something I think is cool and interesting. I’ve told him it’s not as serious as he (and obviously a lot of other people) is taking it. It’s not a dig at our first wedding, we’re not having issues, we know “vows don’t expire”. It’s literally just a way to celebrate that we won’t be able to do again. We will have a 5 year anniversary once. Just like a 10,15, etc. why not celebrate those? Life is short — throw yourself a party. That’s how I see it anyway… but ya know, keep calling me and my ideas stupid I’m used it at this point.

I just asked my husband if he would be down to renew our vows while we were in Las Vegas this October. The weekend we are going is the weekend after our 5th wedding anniversary and I thought it would be a fun way to celebrate the milestone — you know the whole eloping in Vegas trope type of thing with the neon and the getaway car and everything. He said he doesn’t want to if it’s like $500 or more…. Almost all of the places I’ve looked at are around that price (once you consider tips and such) and he is shooting down the idea because of that. We’re not rich by any means but we’re also not strapped for cash either. It’s feeling like any time I ask for anything I’m getting put down or ignored especially if it’s money related. I’m feeling so down and sad about this, but I also know where he’s coming from — his family had money problems when he was growing up so he’s a lot more frugal than I am, and I know his logic is we’re already married why do it again?
I don’t know… I think I needed to vent more than ask for advice, but any advice on how to deal with a frugal partner is greatly appreciated. I’m feeling really sad and like what I want isn’t worth the money to him in this or any situation, there are more situations like this between us but this one is just really getting to me.

No picture, because I don’t know what it is other than it’s meat and it’s a really old thing. WhatisThis required an attachment and Tipofmytongue doesn’t seem fitting because it’s not on the tip of anyone’s tongue since we genuinely don’t know what it is, and Google hasn’t been helpful at all. My husband swears that in college (early 2000s) he read an old book where a kid says something akin to “grandma, you have the best donkers” and he’s referring to a meat dish. Google reveals that donkers may be some kind of early colonial American food but we can’t find any resources that show a picture of them or describe explicitly what they are.
Does anyone have an idea of what this might be and why we can’t find it? ChatGPT said that in the book Where the Red Fern Grows, a kid compliments his grandma’s donkers (god that sounds so wrong haha) but my husband keeps saying that this isn’t the book he read in college where he heard that. He said he read Where the Red Fern Grows in 5th grade and it made him cry so much he refused to ever read it again so he doesn’t believe this is the book he read in college where this food was mentioned.

Hi! I’ve been trying to remember a book I had to read in the early 90s in elementary school maybe 5th grade. It was a historical fiction. Details I remember- there were African American servants maybe living with or just working in the home of rich southern white folks. There was a young girl’s birthday party and the girl requested a baked Alaska as dessert. There was a whole big ordeal surrounding this cake and the young black servant girl was partially responsible for helping to make this cake. Mentions of an icebox. I believe disaster ensued with the cake.
These are the only details I remember! I feel like the book centered around the young black girl who either worked in the home or was the daughter of the maid, and she was close to the age of the white birthday girl. It was a lot about the black experience in the south. Help!!! I’m creating a book list for my kids to read and I can’t get this one out of my head, so it obviously stuck with me!

2024.05.19 22:10 SuspiciousClimate282 Was I neglected? (sorry for the long post)

As a child I was in day care from the age of 3 (preschool)to the age of 10(4th grade) for at least 12 hours a day on all weekdays. When I was in preschool I would start at 6 am and stay until 7pm when my parents would pick my brother and I up and we would then go to bed at 8 or 8:30pm. As we grew up we switched to before school care, school, and then after school care. School from kindergarten to about to second grade we had before school care in our school lunch room until it got canceled because we were one of the only families that would go, there were about 14 kids that would go to the morning care. But during that time we would get to school at 6:30 to 7:00, the morning care would start at 7:00 so my brother and I would just wait outside the school on the sidewalk. The actual school day would start at 8:00, we would then start after school care at 3:00. The after school daycare would start at 3:00 and end at 7:30 but most days we would be there until 8pm. After the morning care was canceled my brother and I would just walk ourselves to school, our parents would leave at 6-6:30ish. We would leave the house at 7:30 and normally get there early and would wait outside until school started,but the after school hours were still the same. This went on untill 4th grade when we would just walk ourselves to and from school everyday. Also on every school holiday we would also be at day care until 4th grade. During summer time we would also go to daycare every weekday. Also during this time from the age of 4-5 we would dress ourselves, make our own meals, and be responsible for all of our own health. After 4th grade we would do all the same but we would start waking ourselves up in the morning, and we would be responsible for cooking dinner for the family on weekdays and weekends. During covid when my parents worked from home (5th grade) I had gotten very depressed and I wouldn't feed myself, and because of that I would be very tired and not be able to get out of bed without either passing out or becoming very nauseous. My parents would get very mad at me for this and they would tell me to feed myself even when i was too sick to get up and I would just have to crawl to get food(my parents wouldn't bring me food or try to take care of me). Also in 4th grade i fractured my wrist and wasn't taken to the doctor untill weeks later because my parents didn't believe me when I said it was broken, this cause my wrist to start healing incorrectly and I had to have a full arm cast instead of just a lower arm cast. During this time i still had all the same responsibilities. I would also like to mention that when I was in elementary school we wouldn't have any food to pack for lunch so I would either have free crackers and candies from restaurants that I would steal. Or I would use birthday money to buy school food. I now have been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and because I have not had any serious traumatic or abusive events I am wondering if this is the reason or if I am just forgetting something. I also was once thrown into a car by my father which caused me to have two dead front teeth, I don't remember this event exactly but I do remember all that happens after wards. Any way if anyone has an idea of weather or not this is related to my bpd i would really appreciate the insight.
