Background: I (42m) live in a small community, and once a year we operate a local fair with several attractions such as a ferries wheel, flying chairs, omega tower etc. All built and maintained locally and well regulated, the operation of the different attractions by volunteers from the community. Because this fair is a known yearly event, families of members in the community join to enjoy the fair and attractions. This is my second year operating the ferries wheel incharge of the operation with a partner incharge of boarding and dismount when I stop a pod.
Today entitled event: After finishing a boarding all the pods, I started the rotation as usual. While looking at one of the pods that started climbing I hear a shout of an elderly member of the community (their grandpa) that I know telling off two teens to behave, and I see them swinging their pod wildly, I stop after they pass the dismount point and call to them to stop, as they are still going strong, so I bring them back to the dismount point where my partner instructing them to dismount and the next inline to board quickly.
Before even the teens gets of the pod, their father whom I don't know, comes into the enclosure and starts yelling at me that they weren't misbehaving while he stood in the path of the wheel. I asked him politely to move, and he moves but comes to my station along with his wife calling me a bully and a "pushtak" (a Hebrew slang for ill-behaving young man) telling me I'm on a power trip.
I answered politely that their boys misbehaved, and that they're welcome to board again and if they'll behave it wouldn't be a problem, but they'll have to wait their turn.
So the parents starts again and I ignore them. The grandpa comes to attempt change my mind, and I politely repeat myself and he tries to convince me to let them skip the line which I refuse because the line is very long.
Ended with them leaving the area while name calling me.
They haven't filled a complaint and I don't remember the name of the grandpa so my in-laws (I married into the community) can't complain about his guests.

Purchased second-hand, only one owner prior to me. Like-new, "almost perfect" condition. Includes some extras (as much as I had; o-ring, gasket tabs, two stickers) and authentication card which matches case badge.
One brand new solder PCB is included, not in an anti-static bag but tested and working. Default PC plate and one extra POM plate. I did not receieve a Monokei cleaning cloth when I bought it. Some tiny scuffs to the anodisation of the bottom case (see photo album above), but all of these marks are impossible to see once built. It is in externally perfect condition, hence "almost perfect."

Titan Grey SE is the upgraded edition, CNC milled from smoky polycarbonate. Brand new, disassembled and reassembled once. No stress marks in the top! Includes all extras (o-ring, gasket tabs, cleaning cloth, sticker pack) and authentication card. One brand new solder PCB is included, unsealed to test and it does work.
I purchased this as "B+ stock" from Mekibo but the only damage is some very, very, very slight discolouration to the copper weight on the bottom that's only visible under direct light and is invisible in normal use. All parts are still in their plastic.

Machina Orbit65 (Moonlit / Aluminium / Solder) - £425 ($535)

Base configuration, not all-brass/copper bottom. Includes a second solder PCB in addition to the first, and the foams (case/plate) kit. Typing angle 7°. Front height 17mm. Tadpole mount. Screwless exterior. Embossed carry case with branded zippers. In my opinion this is a really comfortable and pleasant 65% but it's just surplus to my requirements. Worse, a guy from same school as me i had a big crush on (wont get into the painful story behind how he mocked me when i confessed my feelings as we are both gay) well he is a vet, his face is on the vet company website he works for too, moved abroad etc, he is constantly posting on insta about going to the states, to dubai, to cuba, the guy is always on vacation..what the fuck?? How did these people win at life? This isnt even what i wanted, i just wanted respect and no more trauma nor having to work a job i dislike, the small town i am in has limited choices. I feel like I’m dying on the inside.
I’ve been working a corporate gig for about 2.5 years now. I am not a corporate person.
It’s a very VERY small company. I’m one of four people.
Of the remaining 3, the owner is late 60’s and is facing a terminal illness. Employee 2 is his sister who I adore, is in her 70’s, very part-time and is planning to retire. The last employee is in her mid-50’s, has known the family since she was little and got her position that way. She’s been here forever, and she’s also a passive-aggressive gossiping bully.
I’m a woman in my late 40’s. I’ve of mixed race and look Mexican or Native. I landed this job by sheer luck. My boyfriend did some tech work for them and introduced me. I have no ties to the family.
We are a company that caters to very wealthy, conservative, Caucasian men. The owner and co workers lean that way as well.
I have been struggling since I’ve started here. Not because of my actual workload. I excel at what I do, have been promoted in a short amount of time and have been financially compensated appropriately.
The thing is, I’m dying on the inside.
Nothing I do really matters. It’s empty work that doesn’t align with my sense of values. I feel like I’m not contributing anything to society.
I don’t connect with our clients. I’ve worked here for almost 3 years and no one knows who I am. I’m invisible and I can’t pretend race doesn’t play a factor in that. I’ve brought that up to the rest of the group, they downplay my observations and talk to me as if it’s my first day being a brown person. They can’t understand how I would be treated differently, and bless their hearts for that ignorance, but it leaves me feeling very alone and disconnected.
I can’t deal with the bullying behavior from the 3rd coworker. She’s power driven and manipulative. The owner and the sister know this and have seen it for themselves but will do nothing about it. I’ve already had conversations with the bully about her behavior. Sometimes she’ll admit to it and things will improve for a day or so, other times I’ll get the silent treatment.
There is no HR department to go to. I’ve put up with it or just let it roll off me, but I had a final straw last week that I can’t overlook anymore.
I’ve been apathetic for months now, and toggle between feeling nothing and rage. I’m waking up in the middle of the night stressed out over the idea of coming to work every day. I’ve put on a ton of weight and have somehow aged so much in such a small amount of time.
Here’s the curveball.
I will be starting a new life with my amazing partner. We just bought a house and will be relocating 150 miles away at the end of June. I told my job, everyone freaked out for a few days, but agreed to let me work remote but continuing traveling for events that we sponsor.
At first, I was on board with this plan, as it is so generous to offer it, but the more time that goes on I don’t feel I can do it. My chest burns at the thought of being involved here anymore.
I have this opportunity to start a whole new life. I’m sure I could find new employment where we’re going. It won’t pay as well, I guarantee that. However, I don’t want my partner to bear the brunt of any financial losses we will incur from my decision. Especially during this time of transition.
I really should be happy and grateful with my job. There are so many people who know this company who would kill to have my job. I’ve been told that to my face. I DO know how fortunate I am. but I hate my existence. I hate waking up the days I have to report to work. I’m good at my job, but this job isn’t good for me. Sometimes I wonder if I’m keeping someone else from their dream job by hanging on here, but I feel pressured into staying. It’s getting to the point where I’m isolating myself. I don’t go outside. I don’t take care of my space or myself really. I’m starting to contemplate hurting myself.
Am I being too thin-skinned? Right now, I want to tell them I’ll work remote until the end of October then be done. Six months would be more than enough time to find my replacement. I'm in a hybrid position of 3 different roles in the company. It would take that long to train someone appropriately.
Or do I just suck it up and see this as a paycheck and that’s it.

Just visited my agent and normally she has a couple of orders to detain on her desk and a short list of people on holds on her bulletin board. This time the pile of orders was about a quarter inch thick and her board was absolutely full. I freaked out thinking I was getting picked up as I missed an appointment while I was in the hospital but got lucky. Is there some kind of quota that needs to be filled here in Wisconsin?

Background - I own a group of 4 restaurants, all the same concept with a variation on the theme, all in the same market. I started with a cart and my last few dollars in 2013 and have grown to grossing 10 mil+ last year, all without ever spending a dime on marketing, and not putting much effort into socials either. Our growth has been through word of mouth, building goodwill in the neighborhoods we're in, and just generally being a good time with a consistent product. To a large extent, I was almost anti-marketing, since we're in a city (LA) where everyone is always trying to hype things. Never claimed our GMB pages, ignored yelp etc. However, my larger ambition is to grow the brand beyond our current city and essentially replicate the operation in a new markets, so I've known for some time that we need to change tactics when it comes to marketing. I've done a bit of work on my own - began with easy stuff like collecting emails (up to 11,000 in past year), setting up email automations when people haven't ordered or been in a while etc, and incentivized leaving a good review and catching bad ones, boosting ourselves to 4+ on all platforms at all locations. In that time I also met with a number of marketing companies and ended up settling on one run by an ambitious young woman, which I thought was a good fit since our demographic is mainly 25-45 y/o and skews female, but after 4 months I ended up firing them due to difference in vision. My main issue was there was an overall lack of a cohesive strategy or an effort to understand our customers. It was mostly just trying to copy whatever viral trend was happening on TikTok. That's just not us.
With all that said, I've decided to put together a team of my own to handle our marketing needs. Prior to ending up in the hospitality world I worked for a decade in film and event production, so I've got a lot of experience in project and team management.
So far I have on board the following -

Since 2000 we’ve won 6 of 24 titles.
The only league title we’ve won since 2012 was without fans in the stand.
I have been to a lot of football grounds in my time and Ibrox is both the best and worst atmosphere. If we start well, then it boosts the team like no other, but if not, it can turn incredibly toxic incredibly quickly.
A few months ago I saw a guy a few rows in front of me going mental at Dessers calling him a “fucking useless donkey” because he’d missed a chance in a game against Dundee in the first 15 minutes.
I’ve been to games in England, Spain, Germany, Italy and nowhere else do you get that level of player abuse.
The other issue is the anti Catholic, anti Irish chanting.
There are two issues with this.
First of all, every other big team in Britain has a scout in Ireland apart from us. There was an interview with a Rangers fan from Dublin a few years ago where he said despite growing up a Rangers fan, he wouldn’t sign for us. Just because Celtic are pro-Irish doesn’t mean we have to be anti-Irish.
Secondly, who knows the amount of commercial deals/ potential supporters we’ve lost out on as a result? I’ll love Rangers until the day I die, but I cringe every time we sing No Pope of Rome. In an era where clubs are looking to grow their global fan base, it’s not a good look.
We’re very quick to blame the staff, players and board (not unjustifiably), but as a support I think we need to look inward as well.

I'm sharing here because I feel the listener base to this podcast might have some good points for me. Y'all have been helpful before. TYIA.
Some context: My daughter (mtf16) has been out to the family for around 2 1/2 years now (I've known something was different about her since she was a toddler). My husband and son (18) don't accept her. I'm also in a very red town in a very red state that is very anti-trans (so bad that an online mob doxxed a trans girl nearby a few months ago and threatened her, her family, and her place of employment with bomb and death threats). This is on top of teachers deliberately misgendering and dead-naming because they don't have to respect trans students. She doesn't really get outright bullied, but snide slurs and comments are made randomly a few times a week. She dresses neutral, so as not to draw attention, she sticks with her small group of friends, and generally keeps her head down because being herself at school, home, anywhere, just gets met with hate and disgust.
She's in therapy, but there's only so much that can be done as long as she keeps being forced to hide herself. There are no rights or protections for her, and I see this weighing heavily on her. She has lost interest in most things she used to love, rarely smiles anymore, and just doesn't care about passing school or even brushing her teeth. She's on the max dose of meds for severe depression.
My husband's solution is to ignore it. Our "son" has a mental illness is all. God made us with penises and vaginas for a reason, and if we ignore it, maybe it will go away.
I've tried giving him the science behind being trans. I've tried to give him multiple resources-scientific, religious, anecdotal (this is an experience as a trans child stuff)- but he refuses to look at any of it and claims the Bible is all he needs. We've even been to couple's therapy.
To keep from going into more detail, I'll just say that I realized some months ago what I needed to do: I was going to have to leave the state with my child. She won't make it to adulthood if I don't.
Now to my son (18). He graduates from high school this week. He was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder around 10/11 years old. His major difficulty is disseminating information. If something requires multiple steps, he can't remember or take in all the steps at one time. He also has some other typical signs of ASD like anxiety, especially when he's doing something new or has a change in routine.
And he doesn't accept that his sibling is trans either. Just like his father, he repeats the religious talking points. We have a good relationship otherwise. But if I try to provide information on any subject he disagrees with, he just dismisses it with religious or political talking points that he's heard from others, mainly his dad and older half-brother. He's been dismissive and disrespectful of me as well. I didn't realize until recently that it is the same way my husband treats me. It's the passing down of the fucking patriarchy. My husband didn't have much of a hand in raising him through the hard stuff (discipline, for one; his dad never disciplined and wouldn't back me up, and instead would treat me as if my discipline of my child was a sibling rivalry). But apparently just seeing our relationship in motion convinced my son that's how things should be.
I feel like I failed my son. I've tried to tell him that his attitude and outlook will hurt his future relationships (they have already had an effect on some recent ladies he's dated). And I don't think he gets that his attitude about trans people will (and probably already has) put a rift between him and his sister. I know they love each other and despite his misgendering, they laugh together and still game together. But when my daughter decides she doesn't want to put up with the disrespect anymore, that will put an end to any reconciliation.
At this point, with his attitude, taking him with us isn't an option. My daughter needs to feel open and safe in order to flourish and reach her full potential. I want to see her love life again, and that can't include anyone in the household who invalidates her existence.
When I go, I know my husband will likely bad-mouth me. I know can't control what my son thinks and feels, and he will probably be hurt that he can't go with us and/or that I won't be close by. I apparently am not very good at persuasion and need some help with how to word that I'm leaving to save his sister's life. I want him to know that I love him and will talk with him anytime, but I feel like he should get a footing in the world without me for a while. At the same time, he'll be hearing the anti-trans, ultra-conservative crap from his dad and brother. I don't want to lose him. My heart has already been through hell.
What do I need to say to him to show him that if there is a God, God doesn't give two fiddly fucks about genitals and that just because he doesn't understand something, doesn't mean he can't be respectful and supportive. How do I tell him that I'm not "leaving him," I'm leaving to save my daughter's life? I want him to understand the gravity of the situation, and that dysphoria is not a "mental illness." It relays who a trans person really is. I'm at a loss because not only is my 20-year marriage ending from a man I realized I never really knew, but that I also have to leave my home, career, family, and even my dog. It's hurting me worse though that I have to leave my son behind. Yes , he's technically an adult, but he still needs help navigating his new post-high school world. We've never spent more than a few days apart since he was born.

i moved to a public high school at 11th grade and make some two close friends. BUT AGAIN, i posted an instagram story of a celebrity taking off her hijab, my close friend INSULTS ME AND CALLING ME NAMES AND SHOWING HER TRUE COLORS FOR BEING RACIST!!!! WHAT KIND OF PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS GLORYFYING BIGOTRY!!! the sad thing is even my teacher who is muslim won't defending me and badmouths me in front of my mom when my mom got called to a school conselor because of my content uploaded in social media!!
religious pressures make me wanna kill myself!!! i wanna move to another country but financial things preventing me from doing that ughh. pls what should i do?? i have cut all contact but their words haunted me sm!!

My question here:

1. Can an employer use an informal performance review as grounds for dismissal?
2. Can they legally give a bad review?
3. Can they legally threaten you to resign on the grounds of giving a bad review?
4. Should she resign or let the process go through and get a lawyer involved?
5. What information should she try to obtain before they take her laptop away?

Background:
My wife has been working for a major UK bank in the financial crime division of their Midlands, England office. She started on Oct 23, around seven months to date, and has been struggling. She has around 11 years of experience in Law and Policing.
When she started, she had issues with the laptop they gave her. They configured it for the wrong department, and she did not have access to the relevant systems for three months to perform her training or job. Thus, she could not get training as the others who joined at the same time as she did. Whenever she notified her manager that she could not access the systems she needed, they did not believe my wife, as the laptop was in working order.
They gave her the first piece of work without formal training, and when she asked questions to the manager or the person from the team acting as her buddy trainer, they would say she should know this or not give her the answer. The questions she asked were about what requirements or guidelines dictated why something should be filled into the forms and why she shouldn't be adding what she thought would be relevant information into the system. When she brought up that the training was not adequate for her manager, they just answered that her "buddy trainer has x number of years and knows her stuff". This caused a regression in her performance. Instead of helping, her manager would tell her that she would be fired if she did not improve her performance. Even though most of her performance is linked to bad training, harassment, and not understanding, she is a mother of 2 children under the age of 3 years.
Further exacerbating this, when she joined the Director of the department in a meeting, he asked if anyone had information they would like to bring into the department. My wife put her hand up and gave some information. The Director set up a meeting, and in that meeting, instead of listening to her on what she did for financial crime in her previous employer and how that can be transferred, he demeaned her by saying, "don't come with ideas if you don't know our processes. We hired you to do the checks not to give Ideas". What would become her buddy trainer in that meeting was there, and she and the director did not dismiss my wife. They just started talking about their things and ignored my wife.
In the case that she was told she was performing poorly, she noticed that the person was a repeat, where they just changed their address and could get a new bank account, even though they were exited previously on criminal associations of funnelling billions of pounds. She brought this up with the buddy trainer and manager, but they dismissed her when she said that when someone opens an account, they should be checked if they were previously exited, not when their dealings are being flagged after opening an account. Both her buddy trainer and the manager said that she was stupid and that it would add more work. She later discovered that both her buddy trainer and the manager took this idea to create their department for the company's board.
My wife also noticed that the others who joined had already done this job before in other banks or other departments. One individual you can see was favoured by the buddy trainer as they were of the same race and married to a white person as the buddy trainer. That buddy trainer would practically give the easiest work to her and would generally do the job to get that individual in. But my wife was always given the hardest of cases which would require her to work outside of work hours due to having 20 times the number of people to look into or were cases that needed external input which increased time but her manager and buddy trainer stated it should be done within 1 week even though these cases required 6 weeks due to the cross-communication.
In March, she contacted the Union about the harassment that was happening, and she opened a grievance on what she feels is harassment and bullying. She did not submit the grievance as she was told to give it a second chance, as they changed her buddy trainer. She was showing improvements but was not meeting what, I would say, was an unobtainable deadline. They put her on an informal performance review to prevent the union from being involved for 14 working days. Unfortunately, our children got sick for one of those weeks, and then I caught the bug three days later, and we both had to take sick leave from work. when she returned, her manager stated that because her performance did not improve, they would not give her back that week missed, and she had to reach the goals given for those two weeks within one week. This was supposed to be completed by Tuesday next week, a today week before her manager called my wife at 12 pm, what she described as a courtesy to let her know that they will be letting her go next week on Tuesdays and because it is a dismissal performance if she does not resign by 4 pm today the letter will be put into her record, and if she tried to apply for any jobs in the industry, it will have a detrimental effect. She will not be hired by any company that needs to adhere to the regulatory environment.
At this time, another individual who started with my wife was on another team in the same department run by this Director. They were removed from the team due to performance. Strangely enough, this person is of the same race as my wife.
Due to this, she did contact the Acas. But as they are not of the legal background, they could not help as she has less than two years of employment. If she does allow the letter to come onto her record, she only has the option to wait for a formal job offer to be rejected due to what I feel is an unfair dismissal.
Another weird thing that happened today is that the department's people partner published that anyone under 12 months old can now start applying to other roles within the department if their manager approves. When my wife asked her manager if, instead of her resigning or being fired she support my wife in finding a more suitable role within the organisation, the manager said sorry that this waiver does not apply to my wife.

He's a rulebreaker. He calls the teacher an asshole to his face. But following him and getting to know him, you realize he doesn't care about you. He's a narcissist. He only cares about himself. Grixis wants power and control. You are just his means to an end. If your plane's leader turns into a dictator, Naya will be the first to rebel against them. While an individualist, he can fight together with others if that means achieving his purpose. Then she's got too many beers and falls asleep... but Uncle Abzan, on the other hand, doesn't fall asleep. He agrees with what Selesnya's saying but unlike her, he's got the power and the ambition to change society according to his views. Abzan is making a webpage. Abzan's gathering followers. Abzan appeals to those in society who think like him. Abzan's creating a cult. Abzan takes control. It will take years, as Abzan's conservativism will not want sudden change. He's not Izzet, for fuck's sake, right? It will take years. But he'll manage it. Media examples: Logan Roy, Nurgle
  
• Sultai (BGU) - Sultai looks at the world with disgust. To alleviate some of it, he starts eating a banana. But... it lacks something. A bit more... je ne sais quoi, a bit more... more! • Jeskai (URW) - You're a young kid whose ass was kicked by some punks. You want to never have to experience something like this ever again. Thus, you want to train, both your body and your mind. Here comes Jeskai-san. He's wise. He's seen things. He's done things. He trains you. He's an asshole. He makes you wipe the floorboards. You see no sense in it. But when the time comes for you to wipe the board, who better than someone versed in Jeskai's ways to do so? Media examples: Miyagi-san, Hank McCoy

I was hired by a 3 Michelin Star restaurant as a Commis Chef (prep cook) and relocated across the country to do so. I've been here 7 months and it's been mostly hell. I've been screamed at in front of the whole kitchen by management, berated by other cooks, bullies, has things physically thrown onto my cutting board, been threatened with termination and more. I was supposed to get a relocation compensation, but HR said it was a "miscommunication". I'm treated like an idiot and all I do is measure ingredients and pick flowers.
I've had 3 work injuries since starting because I'm rushed to go fast in an unsafe way. Most recently I got Covid after management told a symptomatic, Covid positive employee to take his mask off because he thought they were faking. I sent HR a complaint and have been ignored. Every day is just one big anxiety attack and I'm missing work to the point it's hurting my reputation. Every kitchen I've interviewed with around here has only negative things to say about the restaurant and how they treat employees.
I recently was offered a job at another high end restaurant without any stars but with multiple James Beard Awards attached to it. I'd get more experience working on the line in a fast paced but high caliber environment. During my working interview I felt happier than almost any day I've been here and the people seem nicer and helpful. The restaurant itself is not as clean, but my current job actively hides violations from the health department. I asked my old mentor for advice and he recommended staying for a year, but even the thought of that scares me. I'm becoming a meaner more bitter person and I don't want to become that.
I came here to work at this restaurant and I don't want to deal with the bullshit anymore, but I don't want to fail the people who believe in me back home or view myself as a failure for leaving after 7 months. I know not all cooks have the opportunity to work at a 3 star restaurant and don't want to squander the opportunity, but at this point in my culinary career I have more experience picking flowers than working on the line and I feel it's a big gap in my education that this new job could fill and I'd feel better mentally as well. I don't want to make the wrong decision and any advice is greatly appreciated.

1. The US does not establish diplomatic relations with Taiwan, but treats Taiwan as a sovereign country and safeguards all Taiwan's sovereignty.
   
2. The U.S. military wears civilian clothes, enters Taiwan as tourists, and then joins the Taiwan military to perform tasks.
   
3. The U.S. military conducts regular sea and air patrols in the Taiwan Strait and conducts joint exercises with the Taiwan military to prevent Taiwan from being blocked.
   
4. Taiwan has strengthened its network security and stockpiled disaster relief and survival supplies and equipment to prevent hacker attacks, water and power outages, network interruptions, and air traffic (road) blockades.
   
5. Taiwan has established its own Merchant Fleet to prevent foreign merchant ships from going to Taiwan for fear of mainland sanctions.
   
6. The US and Taiwan are strengthening cognitive operations globally and on the island to make the world support Taiwan independence and not dare to abandon Taiwan, and to make the island dare not surrender.

Minha mae é superprotetora e sempre foi mais virtuosa mas minha relaçao com ela acabou se tornando meio superfcial tb. Até hj tenho dificuldade de abraça-la. Já na escola era tratado de forma hostil e tb era ridicularizado por ser meio autista/neurodivergente e tímido e esquisito e acabei desenvolvendo depressao por causa do bullying. Devido a todos esses traumas acabei me transformando em uma especie de aberraçao social e quando fui morar em outra cidade as pessoas percebiam pelo meu comportamente e linguagem que eu era bizarro. Alguns me olhavam com medo e ja chegaram até a correr de mim.
São tantas condiçoes bizarras que acho melhor apenas citá-las pra nao ficar muito grande:

Ele só sabia nos mandar fazer coisas pois pra ele filho só serve pra ajudar em casa, sua politica era anti diversao e anti liberdade.
Coisei com meu proprio irmao qnd tinha uns 10 anos e na msm epoca coisava com meu cachorro deixando ele lamber o meu p.
Comecei a ver porno e masturbar com 11 anos e vicie nisso desde entao.
Com 18 anos comecei a ter a psicose de começar a planejar matar meu irmao e criar uma situaçao pra jogar meu pai na cadeia (e minha mae acabaria saindo gravemente ferida no plano).
Tive depressao profunda por 3 meses e queria entrar em coma na epoca.

Vivi um verdadeiro inferno desde a infancia nunca tendo um significativo periodo de paz.
Só fui conhecer a liberdade e a paz de espirito pela primeira vez qnd fui morar sozinho. Eu parecia uma criança descobrindo o mundo pela primeira vez.
Em 2021 finalmente aceitei o fato que nunca viverei um romance adolescente e desde entao entrei num estado anedotico. Na epoca só queria morrer mas hj eu apenas nao sinto nada e nem ligo se vou morrer amanhã.
