Hi all,
I have a weird network issue with a docker container running on my host. It will be online and available, but every minute or so is unreachable before coming back online.
The container is Babybuddy and is currently very useful for my wife and I timing and tracking pumping, feeding etc, so really hoping to resolve this.
The container is on a bridge network. Bridge network contains about 10 other containers, all (except for portainer, detailed at the bottom) with no issues.
Babybuddy is deployed with 8000:8000, but I have tried various ports without success.

The bold section seems off to me but stop/rm Nginx Proxy Manager and the problems continue without those ports present. 80/443 are not deployed ports for bb.

If I complete the same thing using the docker ip 172.x.x.x the same thing occurs. Works then fails. This is the same general experience when accesses the web interface.
If I curl to another container on the same bridge network I never have this problem, but the connection response is quite different - but expected (below is Overseerr).

I have about 4 clients hitting this container. Home Assistant integrations, 2 mobiles, 1 desktop. In the homeassistant integration you can see the entities dropping unavailable and coming back constantly.
The only other weird issue on my host is Portainer runs very slow occasionally. Loading any part of the portainer gui will pause for 5-10 seconds and then load. Curl to portainer can also take a while sometimes but always eventually responds (could just be timeout settings). If I stop/rm portainer however this makes no difference to babybuddy.
Last resort is probably a macvlan, moving babybuddy to the HA addon, or just sticking this container on a Pi or similar. But I'm trying to consolidate given our baby situation! :)

2024.05.14 22:45 bongboy20 Simple brake job gone wrong

Car : 2011 Chevy Aveo LS , automatic, abs
Car was dropped off with complaints of no brake pressure and grinding brakes, ordered pads and rotors based. Installed them, bled, caliper started to smoke with little brake pressure. Ordered calipers, replaced and rebled. Initial problem is still present, brake pressure while car is off, once started all is lost and brakes go to floor. Diagnosed with bad master cylinder (NM4195). Old one was leaking out of the o-ring as the paint was peeling near where the master cylinder rests along with residue . Installed, rebled, bled abs module, problem still is occuring.
There is no leaking or corroded brake lines, drums in the rear are bled and check out, am I missing something? Am I bleeding something wrong?
A simple brake change has turned into 3 days of nothing and I can't currently provide a deadline as to when I know I can have it returned without proper diagnosis

I have a suspion that its the legacy of the dragonborn but I'm not entirely sure I have no idea what it is also lotdb started playing dungeon music after I did the robbery quest which usually happens after completing it I pulled my load order from loot so maybe one of yall will have the answer also I tried the music removal command but it persists I don't mind lotdb interior music messed up but hearing solstheim music on a loop in regular skyrim is annoying especially the same song over and over again the only thing I did was add community shaders recently for parallax heres my load order

TLDR: have any of you gotten NUT-server running in an LXC, or in a homeassistant VM lately with a USB-connected UPS? I'm getting an error:
libusb1: Could not open any HID devices: insufficient permissions on everything
Most google results for that error have 50% of people saying it was fixed with a reboot or reseating the USB cable, 50% say they still haven't figured it out. Needless to say, I've tried every combination of changing permissions, rebooting VMs or LXCs, rebooting the host, reseating the cable, etc. The only thing I haven't done is completely poweroff the UPS because I'm not even sure that is actually possible to do.

Details:

I am running Virtual Environment 8.2.2 with kernel 6.8.4-2-pve.
I've just upgraded my UPS to an eaton 9px-1500RT-L which comes with a USB cable. On a previous proxmox host, I had a different eaton USB-enabled UPS (5s1500LCD) passed through to a Home Assistant VM where it was read by the NUT addon. I'm trying to achieve some way of getting the data for my new UPS on my new host into homeassistant so that I can use the proxmox integration and the integration for my network switch to do load shedding (e.g., poweroff unneeded VMs and POE devices)

Error in NUT LXC:

Ok no problem. I can try to put NUT-server on an LXC insead and still read the data into homeassistant. I removed the USB device from the VM in the Proxmox GUI and created a new Debian 12 LXC. Here's the .conf:

The LXC is a clone of one of my templates, which is just debian 12 with automatic security updates installed.
In the LXC I ran:
# install NUT apt-get install nut # get lsusb command apt-get install usbutils # create a group corresponding to the chown command in the lxc.hook.pre-start # e.g., 111,003 - 100,000 = 11003 to convert from host uid to unprivileged LXC uid groupadd lxc_usb1_shares --gid 11003 # add user nut (created when NUT was installed) to that group usermod -aG lxc_usb1_shares nut
After that I can see the usb device and its owner:

The only other suggestion I've seen is from the archlinux wiki HERE, which says to add a udev rule:
# /etc/udev/rules.d/50-ups.rules SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTR{idVendor}=="XXXX", ATTR{idProduct}=="YYYY", GROUP="nut"
However that doesn't seem to be something you can do in an LXC, only on the host. I don't have the group nut or lxc_usb1_shares named on the host either. Would creating the named group lxc_usb1_shares actually help? Does the udev rule achieve anything that the lxc config does not do? I'm not really sure whether it is relevant here.

Então a ideia , é partilhar um pouco da importância de diversificar , e também de apagar um pouco o mito que 100% stocks é superior a ter bonds ou ouro.
Resumidamente , se começassem a investir no ano 2000 , 2K euros por mês , teriam com uma alocação de
100% stocks , 2 459 700euros
90 stocks 5 bonds e 5 gold, 2 352 000 euros
80 stocks 10 bonds 10 bonds 2 239 000 euros
Em termos práticos as diferenças são relativamente pequenas no valor total ganho, mas muito grandes em termos de volatilidade . O primeiro portefolio tem um worst year de -37% ao passo que o último tem de -26%.
Mas de que forma podemos usar estes dados?
Bem, quando uma ação desce 50% , precisa de recuperar 100% para voltar ao valor inicial. E isto é especialmente importante quando antigirmos o fire e estivermos a retirar dinheiro do nosso portfólio.
Agora o caso muda de figura se formos olhar para o cenário invertido . Ou seja , se tivessem 2 milhões , e atravessassem o mesmo período temporal com os mesmos portefolios, a retirar 4% ao ano , e ajustado a inflação, o último portefolio acaba por ter não só menos volatilidade , como ainda por oferecer melhores resultados! Vejam a primeira imagem.
Então mas não posso ter agora só stocks e depois adicionar bonds e gold?
Podes, mas quando tiveres um portefolio de um millhao, cada 1% são 10mil euros . Ou esperas um grande aumento salarial , ou vais demorar anos a rebalancear ou terás de vender stocks para rebalancear , perdendo dinheiro em impostos.
Posto isto , eu uso 90 /5/5 e desta forma me preparo para daqui a uns anos alterar para 80 10 10, pois na reforma é realmente muito superior este portefolio tanto em ganhos como na volatilidade .

2024.05.04 10:00 HeavyMetalTrucker Am I right to suspect my torque converter is the issue on my 11 5.3?

So I have a 2011 5.3 LS 4x4 with 92k miles on it. A few months ago I noticed a slight vibration while driving around 35 mph that went away when I got on the throttle some more. I didn't think too much of it but kept it in mind as I continued to drive the truck. More recently I've been noticing the same issue happening more and more frequent always at lower rpm ranges while gently accelerating like making a turn from a stop sign and cruising around 35 - 45. I mentioned it to my buddy who used to be a mechanic and his first thought was the drive shaft.
I took the truck on a 350 mile road trip yesterday with the first half of it being driven pretty aggressively mostly at speeds of 80-85 and did not notice it much at all. On the trip back I took it easier and was more in the 70ish mph range and I started to notice the same vibration/ shutter while just maintaining the speed limit when I have never noticed it at speeds this high before.
I got home and did some research and I saw that these 6l80 transmissions have a common fault with the torque converter so now that is my primary thought of what's wrong but would like some other opinions from people who have been through this before. ~90k miles seems kind of low comparatively to other people having issues with their torture converters but I guess anything is possible, I bought the truck with 53k miles 4 years ago and don't know how rough the last owner was on the vehicle or if it's ever even had a transmission fluid change.
