2024.05.16 16:20 RJV_6390 Reality: Endgame

Yes, as opposed to Avengers: Endgame. Lol
The endgame I speak of though, to me, discernably began on September 11th, 2001.
There was definitely an underlying formula going into it, involving Cheny/Haliburton + Bush and the Texas Boys' oil interests + Bush Sr. not getting saddam out of power during desert storm = needing a reason to continue military industrial complex after fall of Soviet union, unfinished business in the middle-east, and trying to turn it into a democratic American colony. I'm not saying that 9/11 was an inside job, per-se, but they definitely could have prevented it from happening if they weren't depending on a modern-day "pearl harbor" type attack on American soil to ramp up their plans. I mean, how the fuck could Alex Jones know about it, almost to the T, but our intelligence agencies didn't? Get real. This was also around the time gas prices started going above $4/gallon. This was the big money grab for fossil-fuel energies. They made so much money, they caused a recession in 2008.
This also paved the way for their surveillance state via the Patriot Act. Big-Tech, and social media's turn to get as much of your money as they can, while trying to get listening and viewing devices inside every single orifice of your existence. It took them a few years to develop "smart technologies" so this didn't really start rolling out on a public-scale until the 2010's. Before that, yeah, they could listen to your phone calls or monitor your emails, but that was limited to the devices you have on a desk at home, connected to the internet. Once they told Apple, Samsung and other companies to start integrating the "mobile data/GPS" smart technology into their mobile devices, the government now had the ability to literally monitor you 24/7. They begin entangling the social media companies with something called "Operation Mockingbird" which they've been using to manipulate the stories allowed to be reported on by news organizations since, at least the 1950's. Hopefully you don't have a moist fart that goes "trrrrrrrrrrrmmmmmmpppp", otherwise the Biden administration may arrest you for treason.
These huge industries are all owned by the same people, they just have each "essential" market squeeze the economy for everything it is worth until it creates a recession and they have to print more money, adding to inflation. What happens at the end of the 2010's/start of the 2020's, once they've established a pretty decent surveillance apparatus within most peoples homes and personal lives? It's big pharma's turn. Time to "accidentally release" that virus that was conveniently created by "gain of function research" (modern-day term for biological warfare research), by a US defense contractor that was able to somehow outsource its work to China. That means they have to start a Chinese-based subsidiary of this American defense contractor. Thus means that, under communism, any businesses in China are part of their government. This means that American defense-contractors and pharmaceutical companies operating under subsidiaries in China are legally obligated to share information with the Chinese government. This means that every cheap Chinese item we buy on Amazon, most likely has some sort of monitoring device that dumps into some CCP "social credit" database. The social credit database is another issue in of itself. They will eventually take the world over through the slow game of literally buying everything, and when they do take over your region and implement their social credit system, you most likely already have a file with them, and most of it is probably information you gave up while blindly hitting up them "accept terms and conditions" areas.

2024.05.16 16:18 LemmeGetSomeWater Down South

You always wanted a poem About me in your mouth But noww I only think of you under him And how you threw our bond down south Seems security and love to you, is not helping you move Nor was it me dancing to your every groove Nor was it me being your twin brain I cannot believe I ever thought you and I the same Nor was it me telling you "I love you" Less than a month before your stupid "breakthrough" Nor calling you, just to hear what's new Nor giving you hugs when you go boohoo Nor giving you drugs when something at work falls through I never asked for anything of you in return Simply wanted to be around you, that was my only concern If I could go back in time, to when you threw up on the floor I would turn around, and walk out the door Understanding and love could smack you in the face And you would certainly not see it, not even a trace It's easier for you to pretend I never loved you And run off with someone brand new So just in case you might forget Print out this poem, and hang it up Any time you feel a twinge of regret Read why a man that would die for you, will never again give a fuck

2024.05.16 16:18 Bicycle_Theme Practising in my maiden name - MRCP exam outrage

I got married 2 years ago and changed my legal name to my husband's name, but decided I wanted to keep practising in my maiden name. I have a couple of publications, and also just didn't want to give up my maiden name altogether.
I signed up for MRCP Part 1 earlier this year and, as per their advice, signed up for my online account using the name I am registered with on the GMC register, my maiden name. I believe you actually can't sign up for an account unless you do this.
A few weeks before the exam, I got the email saying "Dear Dr {Maiden name} please make sure you have ID ready to show at your exam..."
I emailed back explaining that all my ID (passport etc) is in my married name. They replied saying they had changed my name on the system to married name.
I phoned up, and was told that they didn't have a way to hold 2 names in their database, so I should contact them again immediately after taking the exam to change my name back to my maiden name, and continue to continuously alternate changing my name back and forth before and after every exam I take through the College.
I emailed again, calling them out on how ridiculous this is. In a world where many married women/people in same sex marriages practise in a maiden name, their systems are discriminating against these protected characteristics.
They told me they had issued a "discrepancy letter" so that my name on the system would match my ID, but any certificate etc would have my maiden name, and match my GMC.
Got my results today, and lo and behold....it has the wrong name on it.
Anyone else had a similar experience? I feel so frustrated and let down, when so many others must be in this situation. Not to mention the fact that I have paid nearly £500 for this privilege...

2024.05.16 16:15 Ur_Anemone ‘Tradwife’ Content Isn’t Really for Women. It’s for Men Who Want Submissive Wives.

‘Tradwife’ Content Isn’t Really for Women. It’s for Men Who Want Submissive Wives.
…For the uninitiated, “A tradwife (short for traditional wife) is a woman,” typically a conservative Christian, “who prefers to take a traditional or ultratraditional role in marriage, including the belief that a woman’s place is in the home,” according to one of the genre’s more popular creators. These conventionally pretty influencers depict themselves cooking elaborate meals, tending to their children and doing housework. Their posts sometimes come with florid captions about the joy and freedom that come from submitting to their husbands, because biblical submission doesn’t connote inferiority. They tend to dress either in 1950s cosplay or barefoot in gauzy, long dresses.
The whole discussion can be a trap because the content itself is meant to be a heightened provocation — some tradwife creators post things that they label as triggering opinions and then say they get so much hate for being stay-at-home moms. But they rely on that dissonance in order to create more engagement (which leads to more clicks and more money).
These posts have a way of painting feminists as haters who resist their true nature and casting career women in opposition to women who don’t work for pay. The reality is that stay-at-home moms and working moms are frequently just the same people at different points in their lives and that content creation is a paying job: My favorite example of this is the tradwife pitching a $5,900 set of courses on how to be a tradwife.
Further, there are tons of reasons any parent might opt to stay home that don’t require buying into tradwife values: Work isn’t always satisfying or well paid, some people want to spend a majority of their time with their kids, and child care is so expensive that it can push a lower-earning parent out of the labor market, to name a few. And as an avowed lover of #cleantok, I have no problem with content about household tasks, but that’s separate from what the tradwives are often cynically pushing. When people criticize the way tradwives troll, they’re very likely to respond that their detractors simply don’t value the hard work of raising children and running a household — when many of their critics value that work tremendously and do it themselves.
That said, I’m not particularly concerned that young women watching TikTok are going to be so influenced by this content that they’ll start fleeing the secular world en masse to submit to their husbands, live on farms and bake aesthetic pies. That’s because young women are increasingly rejecting this specific kind of domestic arrangement.
According to a November 2023 survey from the Survey Center on American Life at the American Enterprise Institute, 61 percent of Gen Z women said they considered themselves feminists, the highest percentage of any generation. And as the Survey Center’s Daniel A. Cox and Kelsey Eyre Hammond explained in April, “Young women are leaving church in unprecedented numbers,” partly because they “are more concerned about the unequal treatment of women in American society and are more suspicious of institutions that uphold traditional social arrangements.” Women are outpacing men in terms of college graduation rates, and prime-age women’s labor force participation is even greater than it was before the Covid pandemic.
Still, some tradwife creators appear to be popular if you look at their follower counts, and they certainly generate a lot of chatter. But I often think: Who is this content really for? Sure, some portion of their followers are probably like-minded women, but a new study from Media Matters made me wonder if the tradwife’s main audience is actually right-leaning men:
Media Matters coded and analyzed 327 recommended videos after exclusively interacting with tradwife content and documented what happened. We found TikTok’s recommendation algorithm rapidly populated our F.Y.P. [For You page] with conspiracy theory content and fearmongering, which made up nearly one-third of all videos served to the F.Y.P.
After interaction with tradwives, the study found, TikTok’s recommendation algorithm also served up “19 videos featuring extremist right-wing media figures,” such as Alex Jones and Nick Fuentes.
(A related idea, put forth by the journalist and internet commentator Max Read in a story by my friend Kathryn Jezer-Morton in The Cut, is that tradwife content is actually for men with something of a Donna Reed fetish: “Maybe it’s a different version of the e-girl phenomenon or the OnlyFans phenomenon. To the extent that I would worry about anything in the future, instead of creating a mass of tradwife women, it feels a lot like you’ll get one or two very famous ones, and a mass of simping male followers.”)…
Writing for UnHerd, Mary Harrington recently profiled Lauren Southern, a former right-wing influencer who left her husband and now describes her ultratraditional marriage as abusive. Harrington also spoke to another ex-tradwife, who said that “the men who self-select into these communities are often ‘wayward, antisocial, disagreeable and very, very misogynistic.’”
If there’s anyone to worry about watching and absorbing tradwife content to the letter, I suspect that it’s these men. There are too many stories about fathers and husbands who abuse the power they have over their families and too many stories about the wives and children who flee their coercive control. Instead of continuing to talk about tradwives on TikTok or other social media outlets, even to debunk their limited appeal, we should spend more time elevating the stories of the people who made it out of these circumstances. Unlike the manicured, well-lit vision of idealized submission, stories like West’s have no filter.

2024.05.16 16:12 Toochilltotrip Apartment in collections

I have a balance that I owed to an apartment (I’m not sure what it is since I put a deposit and I paid my last months rent and did a walk-through) after moving out in 2021. I never received a letter to my address, even though I provided my forwarding addresses to the apartments. They never once contacted me about any outstanding balance and they closed my payment portal as soon as I gave my 60 days notice so I had no way of seeing what I owed. And when I would have to pay my rent, I would have to go in person. I have not had to rent for the past three years and I’m recently trying to get into another apartment and I have been denied because I have this collections on my account. Naturally, I tried to dispute it through Credit Karma when I first noticed it, and it didn’t work. And now I guess I just don’t know what to do. I was considering reaching out to try and negotiate a pay for delete but I don’t know any information about my collections other than I owe $1000 and the apartments that used to live in. I guess the collections agency is national credit audit whatever? But I don’t have like an account number or anything. I’m just confused and desperate .

2024.05.16 16:08 dickkirkland Only TB versions of the iPad will use all 10 cores of the M4 chip as advertised

One thing I continue to see in YouTube reviews is that only the TB models use all 10 cores of the chip vs. the 512GB. It's a pretty bad "read the fine print" kind of issue. I'll be animating and wanted to get the most out of the device for a long period of time, so I ordered the 1TB model after reading the specs. Some of the reviews are pretty scathing and should be. It's another catchy decision as the first reviewer mentions as there are so many in the lineup pro or not.
I just wanted to mention this for others who may have performance questions. Here are some reviews that influenced my 1TB choice...

2024.05.16 16:08 Parking_Apartment_70 A horror story that kind of happened to me, I had promised it to my friend u/Cyrus1404, upvote his original post not here!

Anyway this is the second story, that I was talking about, this happened fairly recently, I mean, about 4-5 years ago, it was during a particularly difficult time of life, I had lost my friends (not literally, just lost contact), my GF cheated and left me, then came back with an even wilder propostion, which kind of messed me up even more, anyway, it was a time when I was also doing my JEE preparation, and had gotten selected in top batch of one of the most prestigious coaching centres (I was an asshole to think it was ann accomplishment), anyway, I was studying 8-10 hours a day, I was irritable, used to go to school, have fun with friends, then leave it for my coaching and travelled in metro for 2-2.5 hours to reach my coaching centre and generally used to leave by 9-9:30. Anyway, it was January, and my father had some function, so, he had kind of promised that he'd pick me up, en route to Noida. He was so, I ended up standing there till 11, So, he comes, he's with his friend, and another collegue, my father is a teetotaller, he doesn't drink, both of his other collegues were visibly inebriated, his other collegue, was a lady, who was on the phone with her husband, pertaining to some stuff, anyway other guy, who I knew btw (Sadly he's not here anymore) was talking to me about bunch of stuff, asking what I learned, normal stuff that you do, anyway driver started the car, well, it was alright, we were having fun, it was Saturday, so, the 93.5 was on (Top 20 bangers from the week), we were singing, vibing, it was really cool.
Anyway, I had heard in passing about Nicholson Cemetary before, I had been there twice, once with bunch of friends, where we did some weird things including kicking a tombstone, I managed to crack it, my other friend managed to break a part of it, fun I thought, it was actually a tour about 1857 Revolt in Delhi, so, we where allowed to go to lot of areas, where most people are not! Anyway, that's where I heard this rumor that this cemetary is supposed to haunted, I was like right, lol, all cemetaries are haunted, anyway, back to the story: This cemetary was supposed to be in our way, now, I am a believer in ghosts but am not coward, so, I was fine so, were all of the other compatriots in that car. So, off we went anyway, even if you won't believe in ghosts, you'll agree that some people and place tend to have a weird vibe associated with them, and this place is like that, you'll feel a weird heaviness in the air nearby, you'll visibly uneasy, you'll feel that someone is kind of watching you at all times, it's kind of difficult to explain! Anyway, it was supposed to be a long 2 hour drive, so, we just went around didn't really pay attention to surroundings much, well, I was kinda dozing off, but suddenly, my father's coworker she draw the attention to the guy standing near the cemetary's door, now, I being a devout Hindu, am not much sure about Christian burial rituals, but all of us were of firm consensus that they were not supposed to happen at 12-12:30 at night, later we actually confirmed it, so, yeah! Well, he had a bouquet of those whites flowers, was dressed very formally, almost too elegently for any function, so, I deduced it was supposed to be pretty important funeral, anyway there wasn't any other person standing nearby, just a huge white cross above him, painted over an entrance and two small one's adorning the gates, and even gates were closed, only thing, we could conclusively see from there was the generic information about the cemetary, nothing more. Anyway, our car kind of slowed down, and it fully came to halt, I dunno why but our driver had weird fetish of talking to weird men, in weird attire hanging around in weird places. He stopped the car, kind of parked it, near the cemetary so we had a full view of everything and jumped out.
My and me dad were daredevils, two other were drunk, what do think we were feeling? It was pure joy, while the driver was scared shit! Anyway, there's this guy atleast as tall as me, dressed like someone who'd surely say Shashi Tharoor is not eloquent enough, with a bunch of mourning flowers in his hand, what could go wrong? Anyway, fear kind of elected to join me waiting, the driver reached that guy. Anyway, it was obvious that driver was having a hardtime communicating with that guy, I mean obviously, but he kind of managed to communicate with him that it seemed creepy for him to hang around cemetaries at night, anyway whatever entity he was, was cordial enough to consider not hurting his feelings and must have said something about leaving in few minutes, our driver cameback, almost too proud of himself, hopped on driving seat and we all gave him a standing ovation, like he managed to convince that Churchill looking mf, to put it mildly "shove it in", anyway as soon as we turned to see him, he was gone, like nothing, poof! There was no door opening or closing, no car nearby, no leaf unturned, the guy just vanished. It was weird! Anyway, now, the daredevilry and drinks were turning against us, we were paranoid, almost messed up, for driver it took sometime to understand what he had done, he just told a ghost, yes, a literal ghost to leave his area of interest, the charm was cast, the Pompeii was warned, the Rubicon was crossed, and yet, he went out to investigate, I knew that if he was a ghost he'd prolly be looking for me, for some kind of sick twisted revenge for breaking his lovely tombstone. So, I was petrified, but like a knightess in shining armour, my father's coworker went out to check with driver, and result came the same, no proof of that guy ever existing, no flowers, no prints, nothing, nada! They came back, she was feeling kind of uneasy so, she drank some water, maybe it was the drinks or something, but she kind of threw up nearby, we just skidaddled off from there.
Now, while moving through a particularly empty road, my father's friend just said, jokingly, I didn't know the guy we saw earlier was your friend, and there that guy was, just standing nearby, sort of in a grassy side of the road, he didn't flowers with him, he was wearing the similar outfit, I mean, we were some distance away from that prolly 2-3kms from there, there was no other way to reach there, there were cars nearby, not too many, but you know Delhi traffic, right? Maybe, it was a different person, I mean, could be, but he was looking directly upto us, like he remembered the car, well, again my driver wanted to confront him, but we just said fuck off and drove off.
Well, he kind of was a unlucky omen for all of us, the female coworker of my dad lost her husband in COVID, my dad broke his leg in an accident later, the driver was let go and we don't know what happened after that to him, I kind of suffered from deep times of melencholy and depression after that, I actually had to be properly treated, and my father's friend died, his COVID treatment kind of destroyed his family financially, he just left his wife and three children, two of them are in college now, and my father along with his friends are paying for their tuition. Anyway, this story could just very well, be some unique collection of coincidences, I know, and obviously, it wasn't anything special in large cities to know two people, who died during COVID, but it's just something, I have thought about a lot, my father on the other hand still doesn't believe it, although that female coworker of his, does agree with me, she's a friend of my moms, she's the one who told my mother this story, about 2-3 years later, anyway, my mom did this whole elaborate ritual for "Nazar Removal", she consulted a lot of pundits, and other things, my father just joked around saying that he was pretty sure that the ghost or fiend or whatever that entity was, was definately not Hindu.
Anyway, this story is kind of ongoing because apparently, the father's coworker claims, she's still having nightmares, I mean, I can't blame her, she's about 35 and has already lost her husband, she doesn't have a family and her husband's family is not excepting her and her baby (They had a love marriage, that too with consent from both sides, but still I dunno). She's trying counciling, and also going bit into religion, she meets us like every other month, so, yeah, she's brearing the blunt of this.
I have third story too, it kind of happened to friend of me (although I was also there), that too just few months ago, so, it's again quite fresh, just message if you want to hear it too.
Visit this and upvote this, don't upvote this post, I just wanted to create the comment but couldn't! This is in response to his post!

2024.05.16 16:06 candy1710 2003 JonBenet Ramsey case article, The Rocky Mountain News: "City ducks lawsuit over slaying"

Cottonstar's latest video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srFHZioOKSU&t=305s jogged my memory of this important to know article from 2003 by Charlie Brennan "City ducks lawsuit over slaying" . This article refers to how Mary Lacy took over the JonBenet Ramsey case at the end of 2002, that led to the intruder only investigation in the Boulder DA's offce, that led to the debacle of the arrest of John Mark Karr for this crime.
This article by Charlie Brennan talks about how Lacy took over the case by threat of a lawsuit against the City of Boulder and the Boulder Police, nothing new for them, they threaten and bully law enforcment and every one else with their $$$$. Most egregiously, check out the "why" Lin Wood said he would sue, over 22 years ago:
On Oct. 9, Atlanta attorney Lin Wood sent Keenan a letter, protesting that correspondence he mailed to Boulder police Sept. 16 offering new leads and tips on the 1996 slaying had been ignored.
WHAT "new leads"? The same baloney they used to threaten to have the case removed from the Boulder Police again in 2021, saying they didn't do IGG testing, when the Ramseys knew full well how minute that sample was and rhe fear of using it up without getting a result, gone forever. Their schtick never changes.

2024.05.16 16:04 dolm09 Startup fundraising tips Vol 1: Investors telling you "You're too early"

I am a founder that has experienced most of the good, the ugly and the bad of raising capital for my startup from private investors and Venture Capitals. I have experienced co-founder break-ups, key employees leaving, secondary rounds, successful funding rounds, bridge rounds, flat metrics, growth metrics, massive partnerships with FAANG companies, hundreds of investors rejections and so on.
I've decided to post interesting tips and content that can be useful for founders that are right now fundraising to help them avoid certain mistakes or take some weight off of their shoulders.
This one is about investors telling you "You're too early", something that you've probably experienced if you are fundraising for your startup.
Having gone through 100+ pitch meetings, I can tell you that they will NEVER say the real reasons. When they throw a random metric, an expected traction, or whatever feedback, take it with a very fine grain of salt.
The true reasons normally are these:
  1. They're Afraid to Say No: Investors want to keep their options open.
  2. No Sense of Urgency: They think, "Why invest now? I can wait 6 months and see if the founder solves X."
  3. Lack of Understanding/Belief: They don’t get what you’re doing but don't want to miss out if a big name like Sequoia/a16z decides to land a Term Sheet.
So, when you're fundraising, instead of focusing on changing your roadmap and do what they tell you, focus more on why the above didn't work out. All of them can be summarized to FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out). So, what can you do to generate FOMO among investors?
  1. Be extremely optimistic about the fundraise. Investors don’t want to feel they are “helping” with their money, charities fill that gap better. They want to feel that they are going to have an extreme return. They want to feel they are betting on the 1% companies. They have to feel a sense of urgency.
  2. Casually throw details about the progress of the fundraise with confidence. Don’t worry, those small details will become stronger facts as you make progress in conversations, and your confidence will grow and their sense of urgency too.
  3. Obsess with the tough questions. Everyone is good at the easy ones. Construct short, simple and objective arguments for each tough question. As Pascal said, “if I had more time, I would have written a shorter letter”. Deliver the message through.
  4. Be passionate and straightforward about what you want to build. Don't try to sound as something you think you should, or something you’ve seen around. VCs are tired of fabricated pitches, they speak with 10 different founders a day, all of them feeling they are the most special founder that will become the next Elon Musk. Don't let the air in the room eat you and act nervous. Be authentic and special.
These things may seem irrelevant, but investors are not rational animals. What pushes them to dive into a company and invest in it, is not the data. It's the feeling of closing a deal that potentially will return their entire fund several times. Those things happen once every 100 companies and there's no empirical analysis in the world that can give you such insight.
Therefore, the story you build around you and your company can have a greater weight in your investor interactions than having a good CAC.

2024.05.16 16:04 pbooths I felt some Sweet Satisfaction When ______ Cried... Twice!

Normally I'm not one to celebrate a Survivor player's misery, but when Maria broke down crying after being called out by Venus for not taking Liz to the pizza reward, I smiled. Then I pointed at the screen and said HA! Then I evil laughed and shouted "The truth hurts!!!".
It was still satisfying to see her upset about not getting letters from home, and seeing her face after her evil master plan backfired.
Maria's not really a villain (look at her great relationship with the very sweet Charlie!) but that's how I'm seeing her. Is it her edit, or is Venus right about her?

2024.05.16 16:02 lrt23 Boys Wear Textiles! Scarves, Sweaters, and Blankies in Boys Be Brave!

One thing I think we can all agree on is that whoever did costume design for BBB is an INSPIRED GENIUS who LOVES boys in sweaters.
I ALSO LOVE BOYS IN SWEATERS.
The colors, the lush fabrics, the cozy comfyness of the textiles were god-tier. The textiles were the supporting ensemble cast and they deserve an AWARD. I have an EMOTIONAL CONNECTION to these sweaters. Don't even get me started on the scarves.
This is my love letter to the textiles in Boys Be Brave!
Ep 1
Introducing the Hoodie Sweater, which I honestly did not know was a thing and is now my new obsession.
This entire scene was basically about this scarf, I don't know anything else that happened. The Scarf happened.
This blankie? THIS BLANKIE?
Ep 2
You know how it's popular to show objects that are actually cakes? BBB is like that, but it's like you think something is flat cotton only to find out upon close-up that IT'S FUZZY. This is the moment I yelled \"OMG IT'S FUZZY!\"
This sweater is absolutely iconic, no notes.
Ep 3
I AM HIPNOTIZED. DONE.
This scarf is a negroni sbagliato with prosecco in it. STUNNIN.
Ep 4
Pretty in Pink. Also better than his hair looked usually. I'll take it. The bar is on the ground.
1. I love their scarves. 2. This date was too long.
Ep 5
The sweaters are aligned.
Ep 6
Y'ALL I GASPED
Not gonna lie, this grew on me.
Our neutral boys, still gorgeous.
I don't know why I was surprised to find out this was a sweater, but I was. AND DELIGHTED.

2024.05.16 16:02 Glipvis Reddit Final Check: Application for Italian Citizenship in Genoa, Italy

Hey Reddit!
I’ve posted this in a few places looking for advice and everyone has been helpful so far which brought me here! My partner and I will be moving to Genoa, Italy in about a month! She is going to obtain a long-stay visa through her work, 95% done with that thankfully. My ability to reside in Italy long-term will be based on a successful application for citizenship via jure sanguinis. My father and grandfather are both Italian citizens, never renounced, and my father became a US citizen after my birth. So I know that I have the right to become an Italian citizen. I have every document possible related to my family lineage/origin (list below) and have been consistently taking Italian lessons to better learn the language, A2-ish at the moment. Please let me know if I’m missing any documents; I know some are extra!
I’m looking for advice on the exact process of what to do after I arrive in Italy. This is what I’ve gathered as the appropriate first steps, please let me know if anything is out of order or missing:
Step 1) Declare my presence via the declaration of presence form or passport stamped if arriving directly to Italy
Step 2) Get a “Codice Fiscale” Tax number - From where?
Step 3) Get a Lease contract or a letter of hospitality from my partner
Step 4) Apply for residency with all these pieces of information with a local application kit available at the “Sportello Amico” of a ufficio postale - Buy a Marca da Bollo stamp $16 to attach to the application found at a “tabaccheria”
Step 5) Submit the completed application at the Sportello Amico where I first got the application kit. Bring extra photocopies and the originals, although they should not ask for the originals. Don’t sign or seal the envelope as the officers handling will review first.
Step 6) Go to the Questura on your appointment date - Bring originals, temporary residence receipt (obtained from the post office), and the appointment date letter from the post office.
Appreciate you reading all this!
That’s what I got so far, I hope this and the comments can help anyone else looking to make it to Italy!

2024.05.16 16:02 Worried-Regular1160 AITH for degrading my bridesmaids to normal guests?

So last year around September my (now) husband proposed to me. It was a shock for me because a week prior to the proposal we had a conversation about how he didn’t want to get married due to it being unnecessary. I was ok with that. It’s better to know that something won’t happen instead of getting disappointed after every romantic gesture. I love my man with or without a ring around my finger, but getting married was a childhood dream of mine. The white dress, the first dance etc.
After the proposal my best friends (a group of 4 other ladies) and I had a girls night. One of the friends couldn’t join but I really wanted to do a bridesmaids proposal. So all the other girls got a necklace that evening with a letter as to why I want them to by my bridesmaids. One of them got the maid of honour letter. The other friend received the neckless and letter on another day.
Of course the girls immediately stared to talk about my wishes for the bachelorette party. I said that I didn’t really care as long as we didn’t do the mainstream going to Amsterdam, partying and leaving for home the same night. My only request was to have my two other good friends participating and I would love to do a karaoke session (something that is signature for our friend group.). They all agreed that they would throw the most unforgettable party for me and the rest would be a secret.
Lately I noticed a mood shift in the group. Some became distant to me and my maid of honour. The friend that received the neckless as last was the most distant all of sudden. Everything that I said was wrong, me moving to a different city was a big problem, she never wants to visit etc.
A couple of weeks ago my maid of honour and I had a girls night together as we do once a month. She asked me if she could spill some tea regarding my bachelorette because she wanted me to make the final decision.
All the girls wanted to do a weekend trip, that was the first plan. Later on some of them pulled back saying that it was to expensive. My maid of honour found the cheapest way to do a weekend in Paris or London (we are located in Europe) and it was still too much according to the last neckless friend. In total the weekend would be 150€ per person including my trip payment, 3 days in London with breakfast and the travelling expenses.
The same girl who said that it was to expensive goes out to diner in sushi joints, has booked a vacation to curaçao and went a weekend away on a horse riding trip. Note all my friends still live at their parents, have full time jobs and all are around the age of 25 or above. I am the only home owner of the group and I work 36 hours a week.
One of the friends and I are going to attend a bachelorette that cost €180 pp and it’s a boat trip, a diner and the trip back home.
My maid of honour asked the two other girls that I wanted to attend my bachelorette and they went crazy for the idea of a weekend trip and said that money wouldn’t be a problem. When my maid of honour said that to the friend group they jumped to their defences and the truth came out.
“It’s not about the money, it’s more that a weekend trip would be fun for just a regular trip. Because if we do this than it would be expected from us to do it for all of our bachelorette parties. And it would be unfair to those who won’t get married at all. I can ask my brother to be drive us and we can just do the karaoke thing in Amsterdam like she wanted to and just go back home in the evening.”
So in the end, they didn’t care about the price of the trip, they are concerned that they won’t get the same or better so they would rather not do it at all.
My maid of honour wanted me to know this and asked if I even wanted them to be my bridesmaids after this.
It shocked my to know that their own insecurities about their future would be the reason why they wouldn’t want to give me the time of my life. Considering that my two other friends that I didn’t see that often and who I know for a shorter period of time, who didn’t see me at my worst, would even want to spend more money to have an amazing trip for me there where those who are supposed to be my best friends care more about themselves during my bachelorette?
I am considering my maid of honour her words, why would they even be my bridesmaids if they don’t think that I deserve something unforgettable. Do they only care for their own joy? Am I the asshole for downgrading them to regular guest or uninvited them at all?
Excuse me for my English, it’s not my first language

2024.05.16 16:00 boukatouu Fuel pump recall

I have a 2019 CRV that has the fuel pump recall. I've called the dealership a couple of times in the past few months to get scheduled for the fuel pump replacement, but both times they've said the parts aren't available yet and that I'll get a letter telling me when they are ready to schedule. Somehow I deeply distrust this process.
First, has anyone gotten this letter and gotten the repair done yet? Second, how prevalent is the fuel pump failure? What percentage of these cars are having the fuel pumps fail? I don't want to get out on a road trip this summer and have it blow up on me.

2024.05.16 15:58 Nearby_Skill1921 The Evolution of Ticketing: From Paper Stubs to AI-Powered Solutions

The Paper Ticket Era The Digital Ticketing Revolution AI and Blockchain: The Next Frontier

Ticketing has come a long way from the days of paper tickets and physical box offices. Let's take a look at the journey:
The Paper Ticket Era
In the early days of ticketing, admission to events was granted through simple paper tickets or "ticket stubs." These were often printed using specialized machines that cut ticket shapes out of cardstock rolls. Prominent details like venue, date, and seat numbers were manually typed or hand-stamped onto the ticket surface.
The challenges of paper ticketing were many - tickets could be easily counterfeited, attendees had to physically visit box offices during limited hours, and there was no centralized record of sales data.
The Digital Ticketing Revolution
The rise of the internet and digital technologies in the 1990s and 2000s ushered in a new era of electronic ticketing systems. E-tickets replaced paper stubs, allowing tickets to be purchased online and redeemed at the event via a printed pass or mobile barcode.
Digital ticketing enabled features like:
While infinitely more efficient than paper systems, traditional digital ticketing still faced issues like overselling, lack of transferesale options, and difficulties with true identity verification.
AI and Blockchain: The Next Frontier
Emerging technologies like AI and blockchain are now transforming ticketing once again with advanced solutions like Tic8m8. AI-powered ticketing platforms leverage machine learning to optimize pricing in real-time based on demand data. Blockchain features create a decentralized record of ticket distribution and ownership.
Benefits of cutting-edge ticketing solutions include:
As technologies continue advancing, the ticketing industry will evolve to be more secure, transparent and optimized for the best fan experiences. Explore our innovative ticketing platform and take your events into the future.

2024.05.16 15:57 pikapika427 New Nanny, New Problems

I posted here 6 weeks ago about my last nanny who was questionably going to kidnap my 15 month old. Well, she has been gone for a month and it has been a breath of fresh air in our home. Our new nanny was recommended to us by a mutual contact. Her first day was April 16th. She is bringing her daughter who is a little over a month older than my son. We had wanted him to get more socialization and because this person came so highly recommended, we accepted that care would be split between the 2 babies versus just 1. We pay less than we did for our last nanny as well because she is bringing her child.
Things have been going really well, except... 2 weeks ago she mentioned that her 3 almost 4 year old niece who her brother splits custody of was going to be out of preschool for the summer and could she occasionally come over with them. We should have asked the frequency in hindsight (you already see where this is going). We at the time said yes, thinking it would be once every few weeks.
Last week, she was just dropped off at our house with no heads up for 1 full day and 1 half day. Today, our nanny came in with her, so another full day. We told her we didn't expect her niece to be with her today, and she said it was because her mom (grandma of the niece) had 2 dog vet appointments and needed her to take the niece. Look, I get it. Being a parent is hard. Summer is hard. But, we had to find childcare. We want to be supportive of her, however, 1) this takes already split attention more off of our child, 2) we do not run a daycare, 3) we haven't met the niece's parents ever and god forbid if something happened to her in our home (if she fell and hurt herself for example), what would they do, 4) we are paying her, this is not her doing us a favor.
This is the third time this has happened and we plan to have a conversation with her TODAY (both had to run to work calls this morning) about this. We were willing to make concessions since it is just for the summer if it truly was occasional and not weekly. What would you do if you were us?
I am so tired of having problems with the people we are trusting AND PAYING to watch our child and so tired of feeling like we are being taken advantage of in some way.

2024.05.16 15:57 spyrothegamer98 Spyro's Universe

Creation of the Realms
In the beginning there where two beings one of Light and one of Dark Aether one represented Creation and the other Destruction, both of these entities created the Realms of Draakana and Avalar which would become the homes of various species but especially Dragons which where created by the beings to bring forth magic into the realms. However they also created one specific Dragon a purple one that would be able to control all elements including Aether itself, this purple Dragon and all the ones that would follow would protect the Realms and bring an era of change either whether good or bad was up for the Dragon themselves to decide.
The Banishment of the Dragons
Formerly the Dragons lived in what is now known as the Forgotten Realms it was here where their species truly flourished, they build much of realms infrastructure and brought an era of peace across all species in these lands. It was during these times when the connection with Avalar was first founded and both realms entered an age of progress, however eventually a certain Sorceress grew to resent the Dragons believing them to hoard all the magic for themselves and banished them to the other side of the world, and with this the magic across the Forgotten Realms would slowly fade away over time with the portal that led to Avalar being the first to close.
The Founding of the Dragon Realms
When the Dragons awoke in the land they found themselves in they slowly but surely recreated their new home on the Island which would eventually become Dreamweavers. However this Island would eventually become to small for their civilization, and one brave Sea Dragon would set out to find a new home for her and her children. And after a long and exhausting swim she found land but after dragging herself to shore she collapsed and passed away her children would become the first inhabitans of what is now known as Dragon Shores, with the other Dragons following soon after.
The events of the OG trilogy happen
A thousand years after the Dragons have made their home in the new Realms a new purple Dragon was born who became known as Spyro, and whilst Spyro was mostly a thrill seeking young Dragon who didn't care about things such as destiny he would through his adventures bring the Realms into a new age of peace and prosperity. His story began when a creature known as Gnasty Gnorc who after causing much mischief across the Realms because he felt that he didn't fit in with the other creatures, with him having a particular interest in learing magic this caused the Dragons to eventually banish him to the Junkyard which Gnasty build his own kingdom in with him creating othe Gnorcs out of the stolen treasures of the Dragons.
Now Gnasty Always had plans to one day return to the Dragon Realms and take it for himself but after being insulted on live television he decided to put that plan into action now, and with one devasting hit of magic all the Dragons where turned into statues except for Spyro who didn't know it at the time but his ties to Aether had protected him from Gnasty's magic. After this Spyro would go about his first adventure freeing all the Dragons and collecting their stolen gems and eggs all ending with him torching Gnasty, of course Spyro didn't cause any permanent harm to him just enough to hopefully teach him a lesson
Sortly after Spyro's first adventure he found himself into a new mess, having brought to the Realms of Avalar which has been taking over by a small creature called Ripto nobody fully knows where Ripto has come from, perhaps a realm far away from both Draakana and Avalar but seeing how he has a hatred for Dragons it shows that he lives in a place near them. It is during this adventure that Spyro starts to take his role as a purple Dragon more serious whether unintional or not, with him bringing the various warring races of Avalar together and bringing peace across the lands and eventually leading to both Avalar and Draakana re-establishing contact. This adventure eventually ending in him defeating Ripto (or so it seems) and getting the vacation he wanted in the first place.
And now Spyro's last adventure of the og trilogy atleast, after a Thousand years of the magic slowly disapearing in the Forgotten Realms the Sorceress also notices that the magic she uses to keep herself alive is fading as well, with the signs of aging apearing across her body. Not just this but the portals across the Realms are shutting off one by one which would cause trouble for her dominion over the lands, she eventually caught wind of a young dragons adventures and learns where the Dragons have choosen to live after she banished them, and send her apprentice Bianca to steal their eggs, with Bianca believing that she wanted to bring the Dragons back to the Forgotten Realms to bring the magic back. Of course it was Spyro's job to get the Eggs back together with Hunter who choose to travel with Spyro to the Dragon Realms after his adventure in Avalar, and much like before Spyro would help the inhabitans of the Forgotten Realms and thanks to his Aether magic the longer he stays in the Realms the more the magic came back.
A short while into their adventure Hunter and Bianca would start to interact and would begin to catch feelings for eachother, much to the chagrin of Spyro which to be fair if your best friend felt in love with somebody who kidnapped the babies of your species you would not be happy either. But luckily for Spyro after Bianca learned that what the Sorceress plan is for the baby Dragons she would start to help Spyro and Hunter, and eventually Spyro would defeat the Sorceress once in her castle and later for good in the super bonus round.
After this the Forgotten Realms restablished contact with the Dragon Realms and became known as the United Realms under Bianca's leadership, it was also after this that the portal to Avalar was permantly openend only in the United Realms instead of the Dragon Realms thanks to the Professor having to go of old tomes, of course this was easily remedied when the Dragons gave the proper coordinates. This resulted in the cultural exchange between all Realms and a large group of Avalarians to move to Draakana, who created the Valley of New Avalar or just the Valley of Avalar as most called it.
What came after
Most of the events that happenend after the Forgotten Realms are of minor note, such as Spyro freeing the Fairylands from Grendor and saving the Dragonflies twice with the second time being caused by Ripto. The one thing of note with this even is that Spyro started to experiment with a different element mainly bubble breath, which he got access to thanks to Bianca who uncovered runes from the old dragon civilization it is even believed that these runes where created by the first Purple Dragon.
And now we get to the interesting bits, an elder by the name of Red got corrupted by the Sorcerer to plant Dark Gems (which another Dark Master would use later), in order to drain the land of Magic. And whilst Spyro would of course defeat Red the Sorcerer was in the meantime looking into the origins of Aether and the Purple Dragon, this let him to the Shadow Realm a place beyond creation. And after the defeat of Red he set his plan into motion to tap into these Shadow Realms by releasing the Calamity, which trapped everyone from Draakana and Avalar in the Shadow Realm whilst also draining them of their magic, it is also thanks to his meddling with Dark Aether that resulted in his Purple scales. And whilst Spyro would defeat him just like any other villain before hand the Calamity would have had irreparable damage to the world such as the formation of the Ancient Grove a poisonous forest that corrupts all that enter it. And it even changed the nature of the Purple Dragon.
The Age of Malefor
After an unknown amount of time Spyro would grow older and more powerfull having returned to his home of Artisans but some noticed that he would start to behave oddly, he would start to become more and more obsessed with Aether and other elements and eventually fell to the temptations of Dark Aether. This let him to be exiled and he eventually found himself in a place where Dark Aether was most abundant a place that would eventually become the well of souls. If only the Elders had paid attention to Spyro they would have noticed the weird glow in his eyes, and the fact that it looked as if there was something missing. This now soulless husk that was once the Hero of the Realms completely taken over by Dark Aether now dubbed himself Malefor the Dark Master, and he let a campaign of terror against his own kind, destroying the Artisans homeworld leaving it as a useless ruins that got covered up by the ground only to be rediscovered in the future and be renamed as the Ruins of Warfang. The same happenend to the Dream Weavers which Malefor let fall to the ground destroying the landscape and distorting it with runaway magic. Together with his Ape army he waged war agains all other Realms, using the improved Dark Gems now known as Dark Crystals to drain magic of both Dragons and other creatures to fuel his army and ambitions. Luckily for the rest of the world the Dragon Elders and Spyro's old friends managed to corner Malefor and trap him in the Shadow Realms or atleast his Essence, whilst the evil force that has taken his souls place was trapped in the well of Souls.
The Legend begins
Despite Malefor being trapped the damage was still done, much of the world was without magic and the portals became useless, not just that but many started to mistrust Dragons thanks to the ongoing war and many dragons have been killed during the war. But all would change when a new Purple Dragon would be born, who would for some reason insist on being called Spyro not even he knows why. After an attack from the apes on his home with the Dragonflies Spyro learns he isn't one of them and sets out to find where he belongs. It was at this moment that the found Ignitus the Dragon that was task with gaurding the eggs all those years ago, and after learning his name he was of course suprised but the decided to keep it to himself. After their meeting Spyro and Ignitus would retake the Temple and set out to save the othe Gaurdians from Cynder, with him traveling to the Elemental islands which cumulated in him ending up saving Ignitus in the ruins of Dreamweavers now known as the Concurrent Skies, it was here where Spyro learned about Cynders past and followed her to Convexity the place where the Dragon Realms and the Shadow Realms meet. And where Spyro and Cynder fought and whilst Spyro did defeat and save Cynder from her corruption but Malefor's essence is freed from the Shadow Realm, since then Cynder lived with Spyro and the Gaurdians at the Temple but what she has done under Malefors control still haunts her.
A couple of weeks later the Eternal Night approaches an event where the two celestial moons would eclipse and allow spirits to wander the Well of Souls, Spyro would be sent out to stop the Ape king Gaul and to find Cynder who fled the Dragon Temple thanks to her guilt, with spyro also having been tasked with finding the chronicler who has been contacting Spyro in his dreams. Spyros first stop would be the Ancient Grove a large forest that was corrupted by Dark Aether during the Calamity that at this point happenend centuries ago, and is gaurded by Arborik a large tree golem that was created by Malefor as an artificial soldier. But after Spyro defeated him he was kidnapped by a group of pirates and forced into an arena, it was during this time he got a letter addressed by Hunter of Avalar and had a short reunion with Cynder before Gauls forces attacked the pirates and kidnapped her, Spyro used the distraction to escape the pirates but during is flight away from the ship he fell unconscious thanks to the Chronicler, only to be saved by a leviathan who brought him to the shores of the White Isle.
The White Isle is an ancient Island that houses all of Dragon knowledge and is believed to have been created since the beginning of time, with the first Chronicler being also the first Purple Dragon. After Spyro met the Chronicler he told him that he led Spyro here to wait out Malefors return, but after Spyro learned that this would cause Cynder to return to Malefors control he choose to go to the Well of Souls to stop him there and then. And after a long battle on his way to the top and a fight against Gaul who incapacitated Cynder Spyro would fall in the energy beam that sat at the center of the arena, which caused Dark Aether to start corrupting the young Dragon much like it had done before with his previous life. And after this newly formed "Dark Spyro" gave Gaul the finishing blow he flew up to Cynder and Sparx who where horrified to see what had become of Spyro, with Cynder tackling Spyro out of the Energy beam which luckily turned him back to normal. But the Well of Souls started to collapse around them thanks to Malefors return, so Spyro would use his Dragon time ability to freeze them into a large crystal and protect them from the collapsing mountain.
During this three years would pass and during those years Malefor would cause even more damage to the world, first he corrupted the apes into shadowy monsters because he felt that they only followed him for power instead of loyalty, and then he destroyed the magic Crafters homeworld turning it into the Burned Lands whilst raising the ancient temples high up into the skies. After this he sent out his new artificial soldiers out to attack the Realms and used Dark Crystals to once again drain the lands of magic. At the end of those three years Hunter would finally find Spyro and Cynder only to be beaten by Malefors forces who took them to the catacombs which at some point where known as the Celestial Plains, both Spyro and Cynder would wake up at this place and fight their way out of it and finally meet up with Hunter who explained that he was sent out by Ignitus after Spyro didn't return to the temple, as well as the three years that they where absent.
After this they join him and travel to Warfang after a quick disagreement in the Valley of Avalar, a name that for some reason sound familiar to Spyro they found themselves in Warfang, right in the middle of a seige by Malefors army. And after Spyro and Cynder fight themselves through he city and defeat the giant lava golem they reunite with Ignitus, with Cynder asking if they could do something about the magic chains that keep Spyro and Cynder trapped together only to learn much to her annoyance that there is nothing they could do about it. After a short celebration of their victory malefor would announce the return of the Destroyer who would created the belt of fire that will destroy all life on the planet, so Spyro and Cynder would go through the Ruins of Warfang which housed the leftovers of Artisans and open the gate for the Gaurdians and other Dragons to ambush the destroyer in the valley.
After making their way to the valley they noticed that the Destroyer moved to quickly to catch up to them, only for Cynder to suggest to blow the Dam so that the water would slow it down. And so they did after which they destroyed the Dark Crystals that controlled the beast including the ones on the inside, but before they could celebrate Malefor reanimated it with his dark powers this let Ignitus with no choice but to take Spyro and Cynder through the now weaker belt of fire to confront Malefor head on, whilst sending the other Gaurdians to help the other inhabitants to hide underground far away from the surface. However even with Ignitus being an fire Gaurdian the flames eventually overtake him and with his last powers sents Spyro and Cynder through the belt killing him in the progress, this leaves Spyro distraught and he lets the darkness overtake him luckily for him Cynder is there to remind him that he's not alone. And both race through the Burned Lands and the Floating Isle's to confront Malefor before it is to late.
After finally making their way to Malefor the two Purple Dragons finally meet, with Malefor starting to create doubts in both Spyro and Cynder which allows him to sortly retake control of Cynder. During this Malefor would start to taunt Spyro leaving some hints about how they're the same, something Spyro would mistake as meaning something else and he almost gave up completely believing he had failed to protect Cynder, Ignitus and the others. This allowed Cynder to break free, and Malefor to fly in a fit of rage with the battle for the fate of the world finally beginning.
At first they battled high above the volcano but after the Destroyer finally entered it the planet started to break apart, and the fight went on in the same Volcano and the falling Temple that Malefor called home. With them eventually making their way to the core of the Planet, which was made from solid Aether, and with both sides giving one last Aether attack with Spyro and Cynder finally overtaking Malefor he falls on the Crystal and the Light Aether spirits take Malefor away, and hopefully destroying the Dark Spirit that had taken over the old Spyro's body all those centuries ago. But this wasn't the end yet because even with Malefor gone the world was still falling apart, and Spyro saw one last option telling Cynder to leave to life another day for he might not make it out this time, but Cynder choose to stay by Spyro's side and with one last use of Dragon time now amplified by Light Aether, and Cynders declaration of love Spyro stopped the world from falling apart creating a new era for the survivors.
And that's where our story ends the world now exists as a group of floating islands hold together by magic which finally started to really return, and Ignitus became the new Chronicler who started to look where Spyro and Cynder ended up, seeing how they're not in the book of dead dragons. What happens after this is anyones guess, maybe a new Purple Dragon would be born who would protect these newly formed Skylands.

2024.05.16 15:56 PluralofSloop Week one of Tablets Review

Hello all! I have not used reddit since lockdown so please excuse any wonky formatting.
Female SW: 203 CW: 199 GW: 145 Height: 5'3"
I have seen a few posts asking about the efficacy of oral tablets so I figured I would give a review of what the first week has been like for me. I am using the dissolving tablets starting at .5mg and the instructions are to let dissolve then no food or drink for 30 minutes.
day Nausea Heartburn appetite change Felt normal by dinner other
1 yes, meclizine helped no maybe? no exercise bike 45 mins
2 yes, meclizine fixed it no no no exercise bike 30 mins
3 very mild yes i think so yes
4 no no yes no yoga 15 mins
5 no no yes definitely yes treadmill 37 mins
6 no no yes yes diarrhea
7 no no yes no
This is how I tracked it in my notebook.
Food noise is absolutely reduced. Even by day 1 I could feel a difference after taking it. I take my tablet around 7 am and then drive my teenager to school, so I cannot access food for an hour. Every day so far the hunger I feel in the morning is gone by the time I get home. I have not wanted to stop and grab a fast food/ coffee shop breakfast even once. I do still eat breakfast but it is no longer a driving force of the day.
Cravings: I have never had so few! My sugar cravings were getting out of control prior to this so I was trying to cut down and see if it helped. Since day 1 I have been able to scroll pinterest/ instagram without seeing snacks and immediately thinking "i need that right now or something like it".
I will say something I was not expecting: the tablets turn your teeth and tongue blue. Like BLUE blue.
"Normal by Dinner" refers to the fact that I had a fairly regular appetite back by dinner time.
Appetite suppressant is not quite as strong as when I started Wellbutrin 300 hcl last year for seasonal depression
I have noticed a significant increase in energy and I am not sure if it is these meds or that I am off birth control for the first time in 12 years (sterilized).
Other things I did: about two days before I started taking the meds I started shifting my recipes and meals to a mediterranean/ anti-inflammatory style. I'm not following this to the letter but I was listening to the Daily Dollop Podcats to help myself learn how to make better meals for my family. I cook 5 nights a week, all lunches, and breakfast for the kids and I (husband takes a yogurt to go).
Days 4 and 5 I built one of those big cedarwood swing sets on my own in the backyard, despite this I still ate a much smaller lunch than normal
Day 6 I had one instance of urgency but I think it was from all the physical effort the prior two days. I am prone to that problem if I have a really good workout so I am unsure if it was the medications or that.
All in all I realize I am only one week in but I wanted to share what it has been like so far. The NP did tell me the tablets are only 80-85% as effective as the injection but a box with "refrigerate" on it would absolutely be stolen if I ordered it. As of right now I am not as concerned with lower efficacy because the freedom from food noise is remarkable.

2024.05.16 15:56 wuefpelz Help: what can I do, if the hotel overcharged me.

We recently stayed at the Hilton Doubletree Parque 93 in Bogota.
We booked the place on the Hilton app for $100 a night. The piece of paper we signed at check in also had the exact same rate printed on it.
We received an upgrade from queen to king exec that we took but didn't ask for. This is a $20/night value. As a Diamond we didn't care for the exec part of the upgrade.
At check out we were charged $580 for a 4 night stay. A 45% upcharge from what we booked.
We flagged this right away and check out desk confirmed the mistake on their part and told us that we will receive a refund once the colleague from the billing department is back the following day. We never received the refund and addressed this to Hilton Customer care. Their answer was: can't give you a refund since the booking has been modified.
WTF? We never modified anything and also didn't agree to any charges in combination with the upgrade. What can I do at this point.
Already filed a complaint with the credit card company.
Thanks

Need help paying a german fine, from the Netherlands
Guten tag!
I got a ticket during Oktoberfest, and after months the fine eventually arrived on my doorstep. I want to pay the fine but I'm unsure what to fill in in every slot, since there are loads of words which don't make sense when I put them through Google Translate.

This Rechnungsnummer is at the top of the letter, and since it's made this bold and between * I assume it's important, but I have no clue where to add this? Should I put this in the description of my payment?

This is at the bottom of the letter.
I assume I put the Landesoberkasse BW etc. as the name of the recipient?
I have no clue what the Konto-Nr means, which translates to the bank account nummer if I put it in google translate, but that has to be the IBAN number, right?
Also the 60050101 which is behind the bank name and before Konto-nr makes no sense to me.
BIC isn't needed for SEPA transfers so I assume I can safely ignore that.
When I make a transfer from my bank I can fill in:
  • the amount
  • the bank holders name
  • the IBAN
  • a payment reference
  • a description
Which information from this letter should I put in what slot? (I know the amount but left it out for privacy reasons)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
