Ok, there's this person in my class, and they're really smart, We have like a few classes together and we sit in the same group during lunch. They're part of the same friend group and I've only gotten to know them more recently since last year. I used to have a crush on them ladt year but it kind of fizzled off because they were kinda dry in text but that's cause we'd never really talked to each other one on one before.
Anyway, We became closer because we both like writing and creating characters, and our friend group played a DND one shot thing etc, So we got to hang out more. They do this thing where they lean on the table you're sat near and it makes me panic a little. They also make really funny out of the blue jokes and alongside that are quite charismatic and know what they want etc yet remain humble. I have this admiration for this person and I respect them but honest to god I can't tell if this is a crush or not. I always want to be around them though and feel comfortable in their precense though and I feel nervous when they're close.
I find myself trying to show off in PE, or rolling up my sleeves, or writing extra fast in English because they sit in front of me and bruh. What the fuck. We're in our final year of highschool/secondary and had a tea party for our base class, and everyone was talking about their first impressions of each other and I was straight up sweating, but thank god they didn't say anything about me and vice versa but we were looking at each other 💀 Anyhow fuck all I'm just glad I've got a good friend because we share similar ideals and I'm glad I've gotten closer to them. Hi, I'd like to start with introducing myself. I'm 24F and Last year this time of the year, I was dating a guy who was a follower of the red pill community. We were in a long distance relationship and met only a few times. The relationship was about 8-9 Months long. For people who are not aware about it, Red pill community is a group of guys that blame females for all there problems and they feel that females are privileged and hence, They've always have an upper hand and have ruined their life by taking away their opportunities and what now.
I wasnt aware what i was getting myself into but I want to make others aware. So I'll talk about the various "red flags" of my relationship and how it affected me. I am not longer in a relationship with that guys.

1. Guy Friends: We meet online and his initial communication never showed any hatred for women as such. He seemed interested in me and quickly asked me to date him as well. He would often "praise" that I had no guy friends which was a "green flag". (In reality I had no friends, let alone male friends.) He said girls with boyfriends should not have guy friends. Its disrespectful to the boyfriend. Even thou, He has a female best friend. I took this lightly. Later in our relationship, he made me unfollow a bunch of guys on instagram. They were former classmates and colleagues. I'd not met most of them for years and months. He would often ask me if my dad had female friends or if my mom had male friends and when I would say no. He would say, See because one shouldnt friends of opposite gender
   
2. Clubbing: He hated girls who were open about their sexuality and would call them names. He said girls in a relationship should not go to clubs as thats a "hoe" place to be in. I remember fighting to go to a club when an old friend was visiting me and she wanted to go to one of our fave clubs from our college days. He said he is disappointed in me and that going to clubs with a single friend is the worst as she might try to hook up with guys and I'll be left alone and then someone will hookup with me. He said and I quote "I will not leave my car in a shady areas and pray to god that it doesnt get stolen. It's my mistake I went there at the first place." I ended up going to a bar instead of a club. He made me feel really bad about that as well later.
   
3. Content: After the 2nd month he would send me red pill youtube and reddit content to normalize such preaching and thats when things really got out of hand because I didnt know what to believe and what not to. I thought maybe I was delusional my whole life and that this is the "reality of the world" where women are these "ruthless" beings. (He said I was special because I was trying to make myself aware about it). He specifically showed and talked about this one story where the wife cheats on her husband because he's always busy at work (He said the poor guy is working his ass off for the family and the wife is so ungrateful) The wife cheats and marries her boyfriend and takes the kid and the guy's money and what not. I'm not saying cheating is good but the interruption of every story led to the same conclusion that women are bad. He said this is the reality. I started questioning myself more and more as I got trapped in the red-pill community.
   
4. Future: He was very sure about our future and said that he wanted me to be his wife. He said he doesnt want me to work. Females should stay at home cook and clean and take care of the babies. He said it would hurt him to see me work as he's the man of the house.
   
5. Comments on Body: I'm overweight atm but when I was dating him I used to be in better shape. He said He likes that I take care of my body and anything else would be a disrespect to the person you are dating. One should always look like how they looked when they first started dating. One shouldnt "let go" of their body. He used to go to the gym and would insist that I go to. Later in the relationship towards the end, I started my masters and Couldnt be active. The relationship was taking a toll on me as well and I started gaining weight. He would comment on it. I would share photos with him and the first comment would always be like "you look thin in this" or " Oh! In picture toh you look fine only " He did motivate me to go to the gym which i was grateful about but at that point I only went to make him happy and not because I actually wanted to go.
   

These were some of the red flags I could think about. He cheated on me. He had been cheating the last 3 Months of our relationship. He initially broke up saying I had gained weight and he wasnt attracted to me and also because he couldnt see any future in our LDR. Later he confessed that he had been cheating on me and left me because he started getting physical with the other girl and it was no longer "just talking". He said I was trying to get rid of me for a while but I never let him leave. All in All. It ended. It took me quite some thing to realize how I was brainwashed into accepting a whole new reality masked as ' I love you thats why I'm helping you understand the real world'.
I have trust issues (ofc!) and It's been hard to undo the damage. I started dated a new guy recently and caught myself saying You cant have girl best friends and it broke my heart later when I realized. Its a long healing path for me. If any of you are experiencing something similar, Please be aware.

We’ve been friends for years and have a very loving friendship full of trust. She has only told me about her problem quite vaguely, which means that I don’t really know how and to what extent it affects her in her day-to-day life. All I know is that when she knows that someone has just thrown up, she is avoiding this person at all costs and reacts to them with repulsion, which I can totally understand (I saw this happening when we went out for some drinks one night and another friend had too many. By the end of the night we all ended up in the house of the friend with Emetophobia. Once the other friend started throwing up she asked them to leave. However, she was talking to that friend normally again by the next morning). I became bulimic after she had already told me about her phobia, so since the very beginning I’ve been very careful not to purge when I had plans with her the same day. Now on to the actual problem: Next month is her birthday and as her friend I am obviously invited (I think it is important to add that I moved abroad a couple months ago, which means that we don’t see each other as often as we used to. Ever since I moved I have also been to all the birthdays of each of our other friends). Since the last time I visited my hometown my Bulimia has gotten much worse and sadly I don’t think I can manage to be mindful of her phobia anymore. But aside from that, traveling and staying anywhere but home just doesn’t go well with the routine I’ve established due to my Bulimia. This has led me to make the decision to not go to my friends birthday. I do however not know whether I can tell her the truth, because I am very scared of the strain this might put on our friendship. But on the other hand, I would never want to lie to her. Do you think that I can talk to her about this without her being potentially disgusted with me, or maybe even deciding to end our friendship? (I also just want to add that, even if it might come off that way throughout my text, I am by no means judging her for her reactions, nor would I be mad at her if she decided to cut me off. I understand how complex this issue is and I would do anything I am capable of to avoid harming her!!)

Hellooo So i’ve been with my bf for two and a half years, with two years being long distance. From the moment we met he knew i was active on instagram and i post selfies and other pictures of myself.
Recently he complained about it and how he thinks i do it for the validation of others and he’s not comfortable with it. I explained my pov how i do it because it makes me feel better , i genuinely enjoy it and i might be seeking some kind of validation idk which one but certainly not that of other men.

I got a Pentax K-70 from a no-return auction and I’m kinda stuck with this body with a problematic solenoid, which I paid pretty much the market price for. (Typical Shopgoodwill L)
Since it only affects the first picture out of a sequence I figured the solenoid just needed to be “charged” before actuation.
So I mapped the FX1 to aperture preview and use it to power on the aperture rod before taking a photo and the issue is largely mitigated.
My concern is if it will completely die one day and only produce dark pictures? What are y’alls experiences with this particular issue?
Right now I see 2 long term solutions: 1. Only use KAF4 lenses (which I have none, and the cheapest one seems to be the 16-85 PLM around $350) 2. Get it fixed by some shop, I’m looking at around $125.

I've been looking around for a script that can change the displayed value of health and MP to use special symbols instead, such as the infinity symbol or alpha symbol etc etc like pic related.
Just to be clear I'm not trying to make the value infinite in the engine or anything, It's purely a cosmetic change for a cool event in the game for one of the characters nothing more.

This guy in my class has had a crush on me since last year. He has texted me several times and complimented me on my pictures. Just recently it has become obvious that he likes me but then I ways see him hanging out with his friend who is the meanest girl ever and I think she might have feelings for him because she never leaves him alone. He has tried talking to me several times and he tries to get me alone but i never let that happen and I stay with my friend. I found him cute last year but now I really don’t but he is being very clingy and won’t leave me alone. And the thing is idk a lot about him.
How should prevent him from confessing?

I feel like everybody else I know is able to maintain friends and have people to talk to but i cant. It genhluinely pisses me the fuck off cause i dont know why. And i even see people who literally have nothing to talk about for the most part also miraculously just have so many people to talk to.
But then I ask my mom for advice, i ask the internet. Everybody fucking says, "just reach out!" "Join Online Communities!" "Just be more positive and stop caring!"
And my moms favorite thing to say is "well thats just life." Like ok? So should i just fucking shoot myself? Idk what youre trying to tell me.
And whenever i try to reach out and be more social I feel like im just talking to a fucking wall. Online communities of music artists or hobbies I like are just completely fucking dead. Everytime i try texting my friends they just dont respond and i dont even feel like they truly treat me that nicely anyway. And then the people who i actually do think are really cool also are just not very excited to talk to me it seems.
I try so hard to just kinda not let it affect me but everytime i go outside or to school im just instantly reminded of it. And i also think everybody is just incapable of having any fucking thoughtfulness or empathy. Everybody treats eachother like theyre stupid and everybody shows no respect to any of the public spaces they use. And i feel like i can do this effortlessly and even if i fail to I always acknowledge peoples critism and understand that theyre right. But whenever i give any sort of fucking critism to anybody else they fucking treat me like im a dumbass.

My second (much shorter) script!
This is based on real events. My childhood dog was put to sleep when I was sat in a bar one time, and the barmaid who served me was so lovely to me about it. She had some mutual friends that I knew and posted about me on Facebook afterwards. I never forgot how nice she was, and was really sad to learn she died a few years back in a car accident :(
In honour of her, and the kindness of strangers, I put together this little script below.

Well, from those pics it really looks like she had a great life. She was clearly adored by you all. It does suck that we have to lose them so soon, but if she was in pain then at least she is at peace now. Aww, it’s okay, please don’t worry. You have a little cry. There, there. It’s okay.

It’s hard today, but eventually you’ll focus on the good times. The times in the park, that day on the beach, her ‘famous poop’. You were blessed to have her there with you to grow up with. Bet she didn’t like it when you cried, did she? She wouldn’t want you to be sad. And I’m a firm believer that the ones we love never truly leave us. You feel sad now, but just picture here there, watching over you and wagging her tail.
It’s probably the last thing you want to think about now, but one day you may get another pet. They’ll be different, but they’ll also do little things that remind you of Crotchet, and you’ll smile to yourself. My uncle got a little Dalmatian called Freddie and they’re inseparable. It’s kinda funny.

Hellooo So i’ve been with my bf for two and a half years, with two years being long distance. From the moment we met he knew i was active on instagram and i post selfies and other pictures of myself.
Recently he complained about it and how he thinks i do it for the validation of others and he’s not comfortable with it. I explained my pov how i do it because it makes me feel better , i genuinely enjoy it and i might be seeking some kind of validation idk which one but certainly not that of other men.
We had another talk and he told me to not stop doing it but if he gets annoyed too much he will have to mute me. Another thing he said was that this might build some tension in our relationship and i should just expect it.

For the maintenance of the Sarasins who are with me, I took from you at Heracleopolis 65 sheep, I repeat: sixty-five and no more, and as an acknowledgement of this fact, we have made the present confirmation. In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful! This is what have taken ʿAbdallāh, Written by me, Jean, notary and deacon. On the 30th of the month of Pharmouthi of the 1st indiction. Son of Jabir, and his companions-in-arms, as of slaughter sheep at Heracleopolis. We have taken from a representative of Theodorakios, second son of Apa Kyros, and from a substitute of Christophoros, eldest son of Apa Kyros, fifty sheep as of slaughter sheep and fifteen other sheep. ‘Emir ʿAbdallāh’ here is none other than ʿAbdullāh b. Jābir, who was commander of the expeditionary corps to Upper Egypt in 641-643 CE. In this papyrus, he gives a receipt for 65 sheep for provision of his troops consisting of crew, cavalry and heavily armed soldiers, in Jumādā I, 22 AH (25th April 643 CE). The Muslim forces were well-equipped; heavily armed soldiers and cavalry were accompanied by ships to facilitate strategic movement of troops. This document is of interest as it concerns an important phase of hard struggle against the Byzantine forces resisting fiercely the Arab attack. ʿAbdullāh b. Jābir is also mentioned in two other papyri, viz., PERF 555 and PERF 557.
The interesting part of this document is the use of Magarites that is written in Greek and is identified as mujahirūn. This manuscript shows extensive dotting of Arabic script. Diacritical dots on the letters ج، خ، ذ، ز، ش and ن are clearly visible.
One will notice the Christian iconography in the text in the form of the sign of the cross. This can also be found on several other early ‘official’ papyri texts issued by early Muslim military commanders, such as PERF 556 and Pap. BM 1079. Written in Greek, this text would have been penned by a Christian scribe, so it is reasonable to assume he was simply following usual scribal practice by punctuating the text with the sign of the cross, bearing in mind the recipient of the letter would also have been Christian. It was also a way for the scribe to reassert his faith given the religious tenets of the conquering army. One will note the Arabic part of the text which was written most likely by a Muslim is not punctuated by the sign of the cross.
This papyrus is a part of the Archduke Rainer Collection (usually abbreviated as PERF). It is one of the earliest Arabic papyri; the other one being P. Berol. 15002. Other papyri from 22 AH / 643 CE are PERF 555, PERF 556, PERF 557 and P. Berol. 15002.

I (41f) have quite a doozy of a story for you. I would normally tag this as an AITA, but let’s be honest, I’ve spent the last 4 years asking that of everyone I know, including therapists, and the answer is no.
Ok, this whole ride starts back in 2018, when I was 35. I had moved to the Midwest in 2017 for a travel job where I traveled 45-50 weeks a year. I had managed to get myself to a point in the company where they were willing to let me live anywhere and fly me out from there, so I wanted to move back to my home city where I had a bunch of friends. I was making amazing money, so I was able to afford my own place without roommates. However, my best friend (Dee, 33f at the time) was not making that kind of money at her job and she wanted to live in a specific place so her daughter could go to a specific school for K-8. She needed financial help, and I liked the idea of having someone around so there was food in the fridge when I got home at 11pm on Friday nights from a long flight. She asked me to move in with them, and I agreed. Her mother, her husband, and her daughter lived with her. Again, I was fine with this. I was only sleeping there for 1.5 nights a week. I had one room and I paid half of the rent. I shared a bathroom with her mom.
For a year I put up with a lot, and I acknowledge that a lot of this was on me. I’m a recovering people pleaser, after all. I paid for most meals when we went out. (I accept full responsibility for this, I didn’t want to eat alone and she couldn’t afford it.) I gave her money for groceries I didn’t use because I traveled for work. I helped her get her car back when it was repo’d, and a rental car with points that I had accumulated from travel for work. (She did pay me back for the funds I sent when it was repo’d.) I was often bullied and verbally abused by her mother, who was only nice to me when I gave them money.
By December of 2018, I was done. I started looking for 2/2 houses to buy. I wanted to live on my own, have my own space. I found a few and mentioned it to Dee. She immediately assumed I meant we were moving together and started sending me 4/3 houses. Again, I will take responsibility for this. I didn’t tell her no. At the time, it seemed easier not to start a fight. I was sure she would be mad if I told her I wanted to live alone, and I knew (and she made it quite clear that it was true) she couldn’t afford to live without me. I found a house that was a bit out of budget, but I could pay for myself without help, which was my only requirement. I refused to let myself get into a situation where I would default if I didn’t get her rent payments. It was a 5/3, so we had plenty of room for all of us. Even her mother, who was an unwelcome but permanent fixture in my life at this point.
Despite owning the home, all my things were STILL in my room. Their belongings took up all the common space, including the garage. And I don’t mean it was well decorated and nicely designed. I mean it was piled up around the house. I have pictures. I was still constantly bullied and berated by her mother. I was expected to watch her daughter for free at her whim. She would run to the store and not tell me she was leaving the kid. I was expected to pick her daughter up from school, take her to dance. I helped pay for dance frequently. I was still buying groceries I didn’t eat. I was paying for a house keeper just so that I could feel clean in my own house. A house I had no space in.
Let’s get to July 2020. I was five months pregnant, my fiancé had moved into my room in March 2020, along with all his stuff, we had gotten registry gifts and baby stuff. We had taken over the only room that had any space, and moved all their stuff out. There was still stuff in the closet in the nursery. I knew that I couldn’t go on like this. I couldn’t baby proof the house, I couldn’t fit her new things because theirs were everywhere. I didn’t want my baby to even MEET Dee’s mother. Ever. So, the week after the 4th of July (I was visiting with my family and talked through this with them), I asked her to move out. I gave her till mid-October. I waived all rent for August, September, and October to give her the funds to pay for a security deposit and movers.
She did not take it well. She stormed off, then texted me and called me terrible names. She said terrible things. Things that I didn’t feel I deserved and I told her that, I had helped her, taken care of her daughter, paid her way for over two years. I was allowed to be selfish for the sake of my daughter, and I was standing by that. She left with a friend and came back even more angry. I knew this would break us, but after that I didn’t really care.
I continued to watch her daughter at home for free. I helped her look at places, offering to keep her daughter if she needed to go alone. I still paid for groceries. I stopped buying her dinners. I was done. Her mother said horrible things about me on social media. I blocked her.m and anyone in her circle that tried to come for me. I continued to gift Dee things throughout her moving process. Shelves, furniture, games. She proceeded to weaponize her daughter, saying that I was kicking out the child and having her ask me why she had to move repeatedly.
She got keys for her new place September 18th. It took her over 4 weeks to move out. While I was in the hospital having my daughter in mid October, her last load of stuff left the house. She wasn’t the one to move it, a mutual friend did (and cleaned the house from top to bottom for me while I was having my baby).
On November 27th, it all exploded. I noticed that she had unfriended me on Facebook, so I messaged her. She accused me of betraying her, kicking them out, and dropping her and her daughter. She accused me of forcing them into an apartment during a pandemic, of turning my back on them. She accused me of being selfish. (Which, fine, I agree with. I wanted my family to live in my house without having to squeeze in around someone else’s things.)
Her mother messaged me hateful things. Truly toxic. She told me to stay away from her family. I blocked her immediately. Dee wasn’t far behind. I blocked them and I didn’t look back. That’s what they wanted.
I wish her no ill will, but I will never consider letting her or any of those loyal to her back into my life.
As of today, as I write this, she is just someone I used to know.

I have been using shortcuts for a while and many shortcuts I downloaded from routine hub or even Reddit itself shows me a what we call a “Rich Text” which by my observations is the code we use to make web pages and stuff like that which is all based on a text, kinda like Base 64 Encode/Decode but its a text page, I tried to find a HTML editor, you edit a page and it automatically convert it to HTML text, but I couldn’t find an accurate one and I don’t even understand how all of that works so like what’s the point doing so? So if any of you guys which to explain me how and perhaps give a shortcut/link that makes the work for me, I would really appreciate it.

CONTEXT: Me and my crush (we’ll call him M) have been friends for about two years. We met in college and hit it off instantly, but he’s definitely very shy. There were several signs early on that he liked me. We have mutual friends so after group hangouts ended and everyone left, we would continue talking for hours. One night we just sat outside a friend's apartment and just chatted about life. Another time we went to a party and sat on the porch and talked to each other the whole night about pretty deep things and took pictures of each other. He would constantly tell me how cool and inspiring he thought I was. I could tell he would do things to try to impress me. We connected a lot over art and music and loved to share it with each other. He asked me questions about my opinions on so many things. Hell, he even invited me over one time for a baking night, just the two of us! Everyone around us thought we were more than friends.
To me, it always felt like we obviously liked each other -- a palpable tension in the air -- but we were both too shy to make a move.
Anyways, no one ever made a direct move towards something romantic, so I assumed he just saw me as a friend. I actually ended up getting into a relationship with someone else. My crush on M diminished into strictly friendship because my feelings were elsewhere, but we would still talk to each other multiple times a week because we were in the same classes. Several months later, M and I moved away from our college town and each other but we have had cordial text conversations every few months. Late last year, he texted me out of the blue telling me I’ve made a big impact on his life, which I thought was sweet.
Fast forward to this year, my relationship ended a few months ago. My crush and I have started texting again on a much more regular basis and my feelings for him are back in full swing (Note: I haven’t explicitly told M I’m single, we never really talked about relationships in general). Our dynamic is exactly like it was when we first met — he asks me lots of questions about my life and thoughts on things (and vice versa, of course), we send paragraphs of texts to each other, and he is even thinking about moving to my city in a few months.
THE POINT IS: A few days ago I texted M being honest and saying I had a crush on him when we first met and that I do currently, and he hasn’t responded. From experience, if someone doesn't respond to a text for days, it's pretty clear to me that they aren't interested.
I’m just confused because of the signs I’ve gotten from him over the span of time we’ve known each other. He’s always sucked at texting in a timely manner, so it’s not completely abnormal behavior. But I would think that if someone told you their feelings you would respond quicker than usual, no? I’m just unsure if this is just him taking his time to respond or if this is a rejection. I feel like I may have scared him. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that I was in another relationship?
If I’m totally misreading the situation, please give me a reality check. I’d also love some insight from fellow shy guys because I truly don’t understand what could be going on in his mind.
