I am this close to effectively canceling Jungle Vacation or other projects I had in mind. The answer is simple, due to various problems with my computer i.e. involving open documents, my dictation software being quite visibly inferior to my previous one, has simply made it too frustrating, and I'm still questiong whether it was a bad idea to reopen a series that already been concluded (we all saw the disaster that was the new Star Wars films). And I am this close to taking my 32 stories, six side stories, and the vet files bonus peace, and just letting sleeping pups lie. And not finish jungle vacation, and scrap the disability pride parade, and Moby story, which I can barely envision beyond the third chapter. As my interest in paw patrol been flagging, yes, because of this, and because my cable is so screwed up that I practically can't watch! As for future writing, I have no idea what I want to do, and it has been more than two years since I did anything with that Lady and the tramp story that I never actually completed.

I know this has been getting a lot of press in the news and a lot of posting on this sub, most of it being about the conservation angle, but bear with me here. If you're sick of hearing about threatened swallows and bats and salamanders and rare wetlands and native grasslands, let's talk finances, and a plan to shift funding that the developer had already committed to onto Alberta taxpayers. (Credit to my dad here, who like a good rural Albertan always reads the county council minutes in the local papers. I've generally read the stories on this that go through the major news outlets but I haven't seen this angle covered.)

The background for the request is stated: “James Zelazo has been working very hard to move this project forward. The proposed project is within an approved Area Structure Plan. As per his subdivision application and his Development Agreement, he is required to build and pave 5.88 miles of the access road from Highway 9 to the site. He has found it challenging to raise investor funds for the construction of the road as well as the security required since it is an asset that they won’t own, so he has been in contact with different ministers to see what funding may be available to help facilitate this portion of the project.” The County has heard that the STIP – LMI (Local Municipal Initiatives) stream would be the best program for funding; a grant that is 75% province and 25% municipality “and suggested the Developer (Badlands Motorsport) could make an arrangement with the Municipality to pay the Municipality’s 25% share.” The cost could be $15M total. This information was shared with Council by the Developer.
Council moved to send a letter to confirm the above information with Minister Dresheen, and to ensure that this funding would not decrease the County’s normal STIP funding which is used for bridges and roads. Council, with all in favour, approved the writing of a letter. Reeve King noted that this is a made in Kneehill County project, with all revenue staying in the County.

So just to summarize:

• One of the only requirements that Kneehill County* gave the developer is that the developer had to develop and pave the road to connect the site with the #9 highway, which the developer agreed to. The estimated cost for this is $15m.
• Now, the developer has been unable to raise those funds through its investors.
• The developer has been in touch with ministries regarding funding.
• The county has heard that a local municipal initiatives fund would be most appropriate for this grant, which stipulates 75% paid by the province, 25% paid by the municipality.
• The muncipality is further suggesting that the developer pay the municipality's share, and is sending a letter to Minister Dresheen to inquire further, making sure doing so wouldn't impact other funding the county receives through this grant.

Now, there are a lot of things to unpack here. I think the biggest is that the developer is already reneging on financial commitments made. This should be absolutely a red flag that the project is not on solid financial footing, and devoting provincial money to it, especially with the lack of review that this has received, is absolutely irresponsible. And if the investors are looking to shirk responsibility for the road because it's an asset they don't own, how can we expect them to uphold the bare minimum of the environmental protections they've given vague lip-service about honouring?
Additionally: who are the ministries that the developer inquired with? Presumably Minister Dresheen's department of Transportation. Then someone with the county heard that the MLI grant would be appropriate? Who advised them of that? The Department of Transportation, perhaps? Then a plan is hatched for the developer to pay the county's share of that, removing any county obligation? Is it just me or does it sound like this is all a plan for the government to back the project specifically with taxpayer money, without having the province have to go through the usual optics of supporting a controversial project, and without having the county pony up their end of the cash normally required for this grant?
Regardless of who's idea this end-around is, it's an abuse of the concept of shared-infrastructure spending. The point of having shared infrastructure spending between multiple levels of government is so that both levels of government have skin in the game, so to speak; that a municipality identifies priorities that it is willing to put its own budget behind. If the municipality is not standing behind this grant as something that they are willing to invest in, then it is no longer a shared infrastructure expense but a direct government handout to support a controversial development that lacks its own solid investors. If his own investors don't want to pay for this road, and the county doesn't want to pay for this road, why should provincial taxpayers be paying for this road, when it serves nobody except the developer and the track's private users? The purpose of infrastructure investment should be to support things that are to the benefit of people who live in the area, not prop up a high-risk development that primarily provides benefit to people outside the district, in the hopes of future tax revenue. Are people in other small towns okay with the government taking money out of this infrastructure investment fund to save private developments?
* For some additional background on the county politics here, the development is on the very corner of Kneehill County, and bordered on three sides by Wheatland County; this includes the nearby community of Rosebud. As such most of the locals who object to this are in Wheatland County, and have no standing or connections to challenge this in Kneehill County. This would absolutely be quashed if the development had to go through Wheatland County instead. Kneehill County is highly financially motivated at the moment because another one of their big-development-for-tax-revenue schemes, a plan to build a massive landfill near the village of Carbon to handle waste material from Calgary, fell through this month after a huge local outcry. But with the racetrack, the outcry isn't from their own constituents so they'll do whatever they can to push that through, and the more of the bill the province foots, the better.
TL;DR: After having already talked to the government, a racetrack developer tells county to get $15m grant for the road development that he had previously agreed to pay; he'll pay them back the required municipal portion of the grant to get around the grant's requirements.

Robinhood analyst are expecting at growth of 10 cents per share at (estimate: 0.63) in comparison to its previous quarter of 0.53 cents per share. That’s a 19% revenue growth projection from an arguably reputable Brokerage.

Yay! I got my FJO finally. I was nervous, and still is. I have imposter syndrome right now. I attended an on-site hiring event. I wasn’t going to go. I've been a geologist for 5 years working in exploration and I'm starting to feel very discouraged about my future in this career. I graduated in geology 5 years ago with a bachelors degree. I worked summer jobs in geology throughout school, mostly field work and sampling. I got a job with a small junior exploration company after I graduated and spent 2 years doing field work (grab samples) and a few small drill programs. I was never involved in any planning, claims management, or submitting assessment reports. I was just kept busy in the field, and I struggled to find the time to teach myself any mapping programs. After two years, that company flopped and I got a contract job logging core for 8 months for a bigger company. There I was just a core logger and nothing else. Then I started working for another Junior company, where again, I find myself just executing field plans and not involved with anything. My coworker who only graduated a few years ago started with this company a year earlier when the company was forming. I feel like they took time to mentor him through the back end stuff like filing assessment reports, managing claims, and planning projects. I've been with this company for 2 years, have been a geologist now 5 years and I'm basically always left out of the conversation and meetings when it comes to project planning, mapping, and report writing. My boss turns to my coworker for everything involving a "project geologist" duties, calls him to let him know what's going on next in terms of contracts and stuff moving ahead (even if we're in the field together) and I feel like I'm just filled in as an after thought. I have no mentorship and still don't know how to do half my job. I have a hard time teaching myself because I'm out in the field helping televiewer guys or IP guys lay their lines out (as I'm told to do). My salary is okay $90'000/yr. But I feel like I'm just stuck being the grunt worker while coworker is gaining all the opportunity to advance his career. I barely had enough time to start to learn QGIS this past winter. I just feel leagues behind and don't know if I'll ever feel like I'm going to catch up, if my boss even cares to take the time to show me when the young tech savvy graduate is excelling in that department. I can see him getting promotions/raises over me quite soon while I'm left in the dust.
I've tried bringing this to my bosses attention, that I'd like to be more involved in the project planning, the assessment reports, etc. and that I'm starting to get worried at this point that I don't have that experience. He seemed genuinely happy to hear that, but nothing has changed and I'm still left out of meetings. The whole team went to a big conference and I was told they couldn't afford to bring me out there.
Should I change companies, change careers? I like the "geology" but I've been at this for 5+ years and I feel like I'm getting nowhere.

As of this week, I have just cleared over half a million dollars gross from working online. I will first start this by saying that I am both extremely lucky and have found myself in a position that most people never will. I acknowledge both of those facts and and am very grateful, but I say that to outline that my story is probably not something that most people can replicate. While that is true, it is also true that there is still success and money to be made working online if you focus on multiple different facets of making money and diversify your time, energy, and resources. I still invest around 40 hours a week to these side hustles on top of my 9-to-5.
I started my work online journey in the middle of 2018 just clicking around. At the start I was only really making a few hundred bucks a month and investing maybe 20 hours here and there. As time went on I got deep into the online work world and picked up more hours, as well as some fully remote jobs that I was doing at home after my day job. I have been blessed in not having any desire for hobbies other than making money. I have continued to grow and build on my core competencies and have streamlined what I work best at, focusing on that still everyday.
I wrote a pretty successful post on Reddit that kind of blew up all over the Internet, and to date has gotten over 10 million views. I would probably say from all the money I have made working online, about 25% is from this alone. I sincerely appreciate each and every person that has clicked on any of those, and I hope I have provided enough individual information to make your individual contribution to me worthwhile.
Other than this I would say the next biggest portion is from what I do on the lending subreddit borrow. I won't disclose specific numbers on there but it makes up for an equally large chunk. There is definitely inherent risk in this and it is not meant for everybody but I have found it to be extremely successful and one of the better Investments of time and money out of all of my working online endeavors.
About 30% has come from all of the stuff that I list in my work online guide and just hustling and hitting the internet every day and finding work. I am still investing a substantial amount of time doing online work and always looking for new revenue streams and ways to make money.
On top of all this I have other side hustles that I do in person that involve going and picking up stuff that is listed for free on Craigslist, Offer Up, or very cheap on other bidding websites, cleaning up or improving the items that I get, and reselling for a good amount of profit. My biggest money maker has been furniture.
All of this is definitely not for most people but I feel like I have found several good revenue streams that fit for my personality that have allowed me to thrive working online in ways I never would have imagined when I first started back in 2018. I wish you all luck.

pro-West party leader says they met PM Pashinyan and discussed a referendum to solidify Armenia's shift to EU

KHZMALYAN (European Party of Armenia): The referendum is our suggestion and demand. We presented it to Pashinyan and expect a response within a reasonable timeframe. We advised making a public statement soon. A referendum would also make Pashinyan's job easier by allowing the people's will to decide Armenia's direction.
REPORTER: How did Pashinyan respond?
KHZMALYAN: He suggested the meeting be held in a closed format so I can't reveal all details. We hope that our voice, our offer, our demand, was heard. If we do not receive a positive response, we will take measures by employing the same methods currently used by anti-European forces [the ongoing protests led by pro-Russian ex-regime]. We will take to the streets and demand a referendum for Eurointegration if necessary.
REPORTER: How long are you ready to wait before taking action?
KHZMALYAN: A few months. Georgia will hold parliamentary elections in October, and Moldova will hold a similar Eurointegration referendum - also in October. The U.S. will hold presidential elections in November which will be important for Armenia's future. Even if the worst scenario unfolds in all three countries, Armenia must stand firm and not take a step back. Armenia could become the leader in democracy in all of Eastern Europe if you consider the situation in Georgia, Hungary, and Slovakia [pro-Russia populist leader]. Armenia could receive an unprecedented level of assistance from Europe under those circumstances.
REPORTER: Did Pashinyan say he plans to leave CSTO?
KHZMALYAN: We did not demand specific dates but we urged him to complete all these processes this year, preferably by November.
REPORTER: Did Pashinyan agree?
KHZMALYAN: The participants of the meeting are under the impression that we were able to present convincing arguments but time will show what actions he takes. The government functions very poorly but nevertheless, they are doing something, they are taking steps.
REPORTER: On May 9, Bagrat Galstanyan gave Pashinyan 1 hour to resign but it's May 21 and he is still here. Why wasn't the opposition able to remove him?
KHZMALYAN: The 3 former presidents and their surrogate forces, backed by 30 years of power, were unable to bring forward a figurehead, a single ideology, that could win the hearts of the people. They used various political technologies, they switched between black and white robes, and they extended the 1 hour to 7 days, but none of that helped because the Armenian people hate them more than they hate Nikol Pashinyan.
REPORTER: You used to be a lot harsher on Pashinyan but something appears to have changed in your tone after your recent meeting with him. What is the reason?
KHZMALYAN: We were able to present our demands and the timelines to accomplish them. Unlike the archbishop and the former regimes surrounding him, we did not give "one hour" for Pashinyan to accept our demands; we did not make ultimatums. We believe the current government is carrying out and will carry out the will of the people to overcome the status of a Russian colony and join the ranks of free nations. We did and do see steps [taken by the government] towards this; we cannot ignore this. We saw the Strassbourg, but also Moscow. We saw the [April 5 meeting in] Brussels, but also [the recent meeting between FMs in] Almaty. We are told this is an attempt to "balance" and we understand where they are coming from, but our factions speak on behalf of over 60% of Armenians who view Russia's policies as deadly for Armenia. We expect concrete actions and we have formed a platform to continue this work; there will be petitions and other actions from us. We are ready to assist Pashinyan, who may be constrained due to ongoing negotiations, by being the public voice and saying the things he cannot say. We will continue to work, to pressure, to influence, to demand. Our meetings also continue abroad. We will press on until we reach our goal - the Eurointegration of Armenia. //

REPORTER: You continue to criticize the "holy movement"...
ALEXANYAN: The what now?
REPORTER: ... the "holy movement", by calling it a "pagan" movement. What is the ruling party's stance and do you discuss this internally?
ALEXANYAN: Of course we do, although I don't think Kocharyan's decision to name this movement "holy" is helping them. It's comical.
REPORTER: Do you have proof that Bagrat srbazan is [tied with Kocharyan]?
ALEXANYAN: Bagrat Galstanyan is surrounded by the entire political team of Robert Koharyan, he was a member of Kocharyan's 2022 protests and gave similar speeches he gives today, he received a praise from Russian propagandists, and he was named by a Russian propagandist Aram Gabrielyanov as a potential candidate for a new protest movement just a few months prior to these events, so it's beyond reasonable doubt that Bagrat Galstanyan is part of Kocharyan's team.
REPORTER: You were earlier accusing Galstanyan of being a Russian agent, and now Kocharyan's agent?
ALEXANYAN: Same thing.
REPORTER: The opposition gathered many thousands of supporters on May 9. What does the size of the crowd indicate?
ALEXANYAN: It was similar to Kocharyan's final rally before the 2021 elections. And?
REPORTER: The opposition created a video of "Pashinyan's lies" and broken promises. Will you respond?
ALEXANYAN: The clip itself is a lie and manipulation. For example, one of the supposed lies was Pashinyan's promise of an amnesty for overdue fines and penalties. You are a journalist, you tell me, was there an amnesty or not?
REPORTER: Pashinyan had also said that POWs could wait "just a few more months" and that he wouldn't "sacrifice Armenia's sovereignty" in exchange for bringing them back sooner. Why aren't they back?
ALEXANYAN: Dozens of POWs returned home in December, and efforts continue to bring back the rest. Literally 1-2 days before the POWs' return, the opposition claimed that the POWs were "forgotten" by the government. "Ոչ մի բան չեք անում:"
REPORTER: What about the Nagorno-Karabakh leadership?
ALEXANYAN: There are efforts to return them as well.
REPORTER: Why did the police form a wall to block entry to village Kirants [for nonresidents]?
ALEXANYAN: I think the NSS said they had to take action to prevent interference with the border work. From what I can tell, the protest leader himself went there yesterday and returned only 15 minutes later so there wasn't a big desire to stay there apparently.
REPORTER: They plan to hold a big rally on May 26 where they might nominate Bagrat srbazan as the PM's candidate to replace Pashinyan.
ALEXANYAN: Why not go straight for [alleged narco baron] Mihran Poghosyan [who publicly praised the protests]?
REPORTER: There appears to be a consensus around Bagrat srbazan after a meeting between several forces.
ALEXANYAN: Consensus minus one, where "minus one" is the people. Or to be more precise, "minus two", because the Constitution also prohibits Bagrat from serving as a prime minister. Congratulations on an initiative that's dead on arrival. It's absurd. They suggested replacing the Constitution to allow a dual citizen to serve as PM. Okay... To get Canadian citizenship you have to take an oath to serve the best interests of Canada. To allow dual citizens to serve as PM in Armenia we have to accept for the PM to have loyalty towards another state. The alternative is for the candidate [Bagrat] to admit that his word [oath to Canada] wasn't worth a dime. Երևի մատերը խաչ արած ա երդվել։
REPORTER: But don't you think you are manipulating because Galstanyan received Canadian citizenship just to be able to serve in the church in Canada? He didn't go there to live or conduct business.
ALEXANYAN: It doesn't matter why he went to Canada. He is a citizen of Canada and took an oath. Even religious leaders with dual citizenship cannot become prime ministers. I don't have an issue with him being a dual citizen, but it limits his office options. He still hasn't renounced his Canadian citizenship even after all these talks about a possible nomination.
REPORTER: Galstanyan said he is ready to renounce it as soon as there is a need for it.
ALEXANYAN: In other words, he seeks "guarantees" that he will be the candidate in order to renounce it?

Armenia's Constitutional Court has a vacant seat. Pro-Russian opposition criticizes Pashinyan's ruling party for favoring a "George Soros-linked" judge who worked for U.S. State Department.

A Serj-era judge is leaving the Constitutional Court after receiving a job offer elsewhere so one seat is vacant. It is the judiciary's turn to nominate a CC judge, so hundreds of judges recently held a meeting and voted for Judge Balayan as their candidate. Balayan's father was a CC judge during Kocharyan's tenure. He was accused in the Wikileaks report of having inappropriate deals with President Kocharyan. Pashinyan's ruling party did not vote to approve Balayan. This led to a second gathering of hundreds of judges where they voted to nominate Judge Khachaturyan as their candidate. The parliament summoned him for Q&A on Tuesday.

JUDICIARY REP: I presented parts of his professional activities available on the court's public platforms. You can ask the candidate directly.
OPPOSITION MP: The Soros Foundation publicly listed him as a member so I don't understand why it's being hidden now. In your opinion, how will his work at the Soros Foundation affect his impartiality?
JUDICIARY REP: The majority of judges chose him and it's up to Parliament whether to confirm or reject.
RULING MP: Was the voting held in a closed session or can you see how each judge voted?
JUDICIARY REP: It's a closed format. My duty here is to present the candidate. [basically, leave me alone I'm just doing my job]
RULING MP: Why not make the court voting and internal discussions more transparent for the public to see so we will have fewer conspiracy theories on why one judge was preferred over the other?
JUDICIARY REP: I share the view that it needs to be as public as possible but the majority of judges voted to keep the session closed to the press.
RULING MP: Just because the discussions and the vote were behind closed doors that doesn't mean it was anti-democratic, but still, it's better to publicize the process. We hope to see a change in this approach.
JUDICIARY REP: The ballot casting will always be secret and I think that's the right approach in order to allow judges to express themselves without constraints, but I agree that the discussions and speeches should be public. Either way whatever we discuss behind closed doors always reaches the press so in practice there isn't really a major transparency issue there.
CANDIDATE KHACHATURYAN: First, every part of my biography has always been public and part of public discussions. Second, I have always voted in favor of making internal discussions open to the press; it's the best way to avoid incorrect assumptions. Full speech here.
OPPOSITION MP: Congratulations. The ruling party intends to approve your candidacy just as they voted for you in the past for other positions. In all of those instances, you didn't mention your work at the Сорос Foundation. Now, a very interesting coincidence [drumroll... are you guys ready for this bombshell?], during the same time while you worked at Сорос foundation, in 2006-2013, you were also a U.S. Embassy employee [got 'em]. //

Everyone who was part of the Board had duties but it was not really an "employment". As for my simultaneous work with the U.S. Justice Department, there was no conflict with my membership or presidency at the Board because the latter was fully a public activity and we were only given a symbolic sum to compensate for our expenses; we are talking about less than $100/mo. I will let you be the judge regarding an agent of influence. There is a lot that's missing from my biography that was read here [lists some boring constitutional research work, etc.].
OPPOSITION MP: You keep being "promoted" by the ruling party without having the chance to finish your terms. The longest job you've ever held was at the Сорос Foundation - 8 years. The brother of the head of the Anti-Corruption Committee, who is about to join the CC, cannot be impartial. Again, what guarantees can you present that you are not a [Western] agent?
CANDIDATE KHACHATURYAN: Your expectation for guarantees stems from the assumption that the [Open Society Foundations] were engaged in activities other than the ones they were actually engaged in. I won't present any "guarantees" because there is no "threat" to begin with. As I've said, that part of my biography has always been discussed publicly and the activities were public and covered by the press.
RULING MP: In your speech you spoke about the judiciary in the U.S. and brought examples. The U.S. doesn't have a Constitutional Court. Don't you think we should also merge the Constitutional and [Cassations Court] with the upcoming referendum to have one Supreme Court with corresponding chambers?
CANDIDATE KHACHATURYAN: I support having one unified body like in the U.S., or clarifying the duties to prevent each body from interfering with the other. Lengthy answer.
OPPOSITION MP: A person [in Kirants] received permission [from USSR] to build a house and live in it. Then the [Armenian] government told him there was a mistake [after the clarification of borders]. Some 50 years after this incident, what would your verdict be in this case?
CANDIDATE KHACHATURYAN: I understand the context. This issue is the task of the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister and we cannot interfere in each other's institutions. I assume there will be a peace agreement eventually that will be sent to the Constitutional Court for examination, therefore I will refrain from making prejudgments now in order to be allowed to take part in future processes.

anti-corruption: Armenian authorities conclude that luxury Dubai property belonging to former regime MP's relative was not obtained illegally by him therefore will not be seized as part of an asset forfeiture case

Mher Sedrakyan (Tokhmakhi Mher) is a Serj-era MP whose family is going through an asset forfeiture case worth ֏7.5 billion ($19.3 million) that includes 22 real estate properties, cars, and company shares registered under his name and the names of immediate family members.
Additionally, investigative journalists recently found a luxury property in Dubai registered under the ex-MP's relative. Authorities have concluded that he is not the true ownebeneficiary of this Dubai apartment, therefore it won't be seized.

So, a new intern just joined the my department that I'm currently working for, the Finance Department and I'm just confused by the intern. Her job scope is rather simple, basically just data entry and filing. We had guide her how should her do her work which is just a copy and paste work. But the problem is, she has no clue about using a computer. I was like WTF, you are a DIPLOMA STUDENT who came to intern. I'm fairly certain your university uses computer on daily basis for the assignments and projects. However, basic CTRL C + CTRL V shortcut keys, zero clue about it, when asked why she doesn't know, her answer were "Oh, I usually use laptop, I seldom use PC." Huh? Hello, the PC you're referring to is just a laptop connected to a monitor. Alright, I can understand since there are many shortcut keys, but fucking hell, when we taught her to use CTRL C + CTRL V which will make her job easier, she refuses, continuing to Right-click copy + Right-click paste. Oh yeah, she got no idea how to open switch on the computer too.
Aside from not knowing how to use a computer, I found that she can barely understand instructions. Every time when my colleagues or I assigned a simple task for her, we are forced to watch her do everything bits by bits because she constantly fucked up. Submitting wrong data, entering wrong numbers, and just literal basic mistakes. Okay, maybe she's just nervous, a couple of times is acceptable, but 20 times in a single day? Girl, your job is just literally copy and paste, nothing more, nothing less. It isn't hard, you just have to make sure the numbers are correct, then just submit. That's all, but nope, she has personal vendetta against those numbers I guess. Other than that, I find it surprising that she doesn't even remember how to do her task. We've prepared a full physical copy of guide on how to carry out a certain task. Step by step, number by number, and she still manage to fuck up.
Oh yeah, she's a Business Administration student that doesn't know the general terms used in finance, which is rather baffling, I supposed.
And it has been a month since she joined, and she still stubbornly follow her own pace, which is rather dragging down the others. To summarize, she is a diploma student
a) with zero clue about computer,
b) cannot follow simple instructions,
c) cannot memorize simple instructions,
d) with zero knowledge about the course she is in.
A very very interesting intern that I've seen in a while.

I have been with my wife for about 10 years (married 6 years). To say that our marriage has been tumultuous is an understatement. My wife made my work/social/personal life very difficult. I have literally turned down interviews for dream jobs because I thought the workload/post work activities/networking would become an issue and to me, it was not worth arguing with her. Mostly stemmed from insecurities which I always tried to be sympathetic to but at some point, enough is enough.
Last year, she started bringing up divorce/separation. This felt a bit different from the other times she's brought it up because it did not come out of anger or during a fight. It was a peaceful conversation and felt very sincere. We both cried. This continued to get brought up by her for months and months, similar conversations. She even told quite a few of our friends that she was leaving over the last 6-7 months.
Early this year, I finally voiced that I did actually feel like this was the best move for the two of us which I guess I hadn't really said before until that moment. In that moment, something switched in my wife and she all of the sudden decided that was not what she wanted. In fact, she told me that she was just saying that to see if I would ask her to stay and then told me that if I wanted a divorce that I had to ask for one. So I did.
After a few weeks at home, I decided to move out of our home because it was getting harder to be around each other. She kept asking me to stay, that things would be different, and I didn't want to fall back into something. I'm someone that easily caves. At this point all of my friends started coming out of the woodwork basically saying "dude.. I didn't want to say this about your wife.. but watching the way she treated you was brutal.." I was honestly surprised how many people called me to say the exact same thing..
About a month later, I ended up sleeping with someone who I've actually grown to like a lot. This was not some crazy premeditated thing, I actually can point to the day that we started talking (as friends) and it was a few days before I moved out, nothing had happened at that point or even seemed like it would. My wife ended up having suspicions and confronted me about it, I felt bad and admitted this happened and all hell broke loose.
She was able to file for divorce before me, claims that the divorce is because of my affair, she quit her job, so now I'm left to pay for EVERYTHING until this is over including her attorney and she is coming for blood.
We don't have kids, we own one house (this is our only real asset), hardly have any money, and I have some copyrights which I'm sure she'll want 50% of. The one issue here really is that I make a bit more money than she does but even then it's nothing crazy. She probably makes about half of what I make (maybe a little less, but she could've been making a lot more if it weren't that she constantly quit her corporate jobs without anything else lined up or consulting me at all beforehand) and most of my income comes from various forms of revenue, most of which is unstable 1099 income that could go away at any moment.
She really wants alimony from me and I'm sure she'll get it. Her attorney is dead set on going to court even though we've tried to settle and don't have much to fight over. I know we have to at least try mediation in our state before we can get a court date assigned. Hopefully we can resolve this in mediation because honestly, I can't afford to go to trial.
All of this seems insane to me. I've worked extremely hard to make what I do and now I'm going to suffer because she asked me for a divorce, got what she asked for and she didn't want to work. Someone please tell me something good.

I hope this letter finds you well. To begin, I was drawn to this topic through social media posts that shared dozens of records detailing the abuse and deaths of hundreds of children in these therapy programs. I have often wondered, how can these programs be allowed to cause this amount of trauma to teens and children? This inspired me to look deeper into the troubled teen industry and understand why paid “caregivers” have put so many in danger. If we want to protect the wellbeing of these teens, we must find a solution to regulating these industries. Without increased laws and regulations we continue to place America’s children into potential death traps. Now what is a wilderness therapy program? Wilderness therapy programs, on the surface, seem like a promising solution for troubled teens, offering a blend of nature immersion and psychiatric support. However, the roots of the troubled teen industry date back to the 1970s, with reports of abuse surfacing early on. Shockingly, despite decades of outcry and documentation of fatalities, political inertia persists, and federal oversight remains lacking. It is understandable that parents want their children to be happy, respectful, and well-mannered. However, in an attempt to do what is right for their struggling child, parents may turn to the troubled teen industry. Currently, according to the American Bar Association, there are thousands of teenagers in these programs within the U.S, programs that often induce trauma and abuse, even causing the deaths of their children. So, why do parents continue to put their children into these programs? Is the fear of losing the “perfect” family leading parents to enrolling their children into these troubled teens’ wilderness programs? So why do parents enroll their children in these awful facilities? Simple answer: manipulation. The troubled teen industry (TTI) often manipulates parents through a series of insidious tactics. For instance, leveraging fear by exaggerating the risks associated with a child's behavior and creating a sense of imminent danger. Isolation tactics further reinforce this urgency, convincing parents that the facility is their sole recourse. These industries hire workers framed as “education consultants” that utilize high-pressure sales strategies to exploit parental anxiety, and present their TTI program as the only viable option. In an article by USAtoday, reporters held interviews of parents and teens who experienced a TTI program at Evoke, a Utah facility. "I was just an anxious mom. I loved (Katelyn) to death," Tessie, Katelyn’s mom, says, "I was so desperate and desperately wanting to save my child from herself" (USAtoday). Programs offer promises of rapid transformation and they prey on parental desperation for quick, easy fixes. Emotional manipulation adds another layer, playing on a parents guilt and insecurity. By showcasing selective success stories and controlling information flow, they obscure potential risks and alternatives. Stigmatizing the child's behavior further pressures parents into compliance, painting their facility as the sole refuge from societal judgment. "’[Evoke] just made it seem like (she was) such a rotten kid and that she couldn't come home after the wilderness program,’ Tessie says, instead [Evoke suggested] Katelyn go to an aftercare program” (USAtoday). In this web of manipulation, parents often find themselves coerced into decisions they later regret, unaware of the nuanced realities obscured by these tactics. In an article from the “Cafemoms” blog titled My Daughter Was a Victim of the 'Troubled Teen' Industry & It Haunts Me to This Day, a mother recounts her perspective of the tactics used by Island View (IV) treatment center to send her sixteen year old daughter to their facilities. “We trusted the [education consultant] when he said IV was the best program in the country and the best fit for Colleen. What the [education consultant] didn’t tell us was that the reason so many IV grads did so well after graduation is because nearly all of them went straight from IV to another residential treatment”(Cafemoms). Despite this, there is still hope for change. Imprint News wrote an article that focused on recent protests and youth advocates who were pushing congress to introduce new laws. Specifically, they discussed the Stop Institutional Child Abuse Act. A main advocacy group aiming at these lawmakers is Breaking Code Silence, a group dedicated to advocating for young people who had experienced harm in a youth treatment center (Imprint News). Their main goal is to pass a Bill of Rights for all children in youth treatment centers (Imprint News). The article also mentions that Breaking Code Silence wants children to have guaranteed protection from physical restraint and monitored phone calls. They further require that children are provided with all the basic necessities (Imprint News). Paris Hilton, a well-known celebrity, discussed in a Washington post article when she was 16 years old when she was taken from her home by two men. This was a result of her parents signing her up for a teen wilderness program (Hilton). Hilton describes that she was beaten and malnourished throughout her time at a Utah Facility. In October 2021, she partnered with Breaking Code Silence and pushed for a reform that was signed into law last April (Hilton). In Utah, it is now mandatory for treatment centers to document any time that staff used physical restraint (Hilton). Immediately following they have to submit these reports to the Utah Office of Licensing (Hilton). It also prohibits programs from sedating residents or using mechanical restraints, such as handcuffs and chains (Hilton). Therefore, this proves that reforms can be implemented and that it is important to continue the fight for more. Without regulations these programs can run rampant and place hundreds of children in danger. Continuing to protest, collaborate with government officials, and raise awareness can, and will, eventually stop the persistence of these programs. Enforcing reports and proper care through the law is the only way to give teens struggling with mental illnesses in these programs a fighting chance to recover. On the other hand, supporters of the troubled teen industry have used studies and research to prove the effectiveness of these programs, one example being RedCliff Ascent. RedCliff Ascent is a wilderness therapy program that claims the effectiveness of wilderness therapy. In 2005, this company hired a researcher to study families and adolescents 2 years after the program. The results found that over 90% of adolescents found wilderness therapy as effective and 83% of adolescents were doing better. In another study by Dr. Steve Aldana, it was found that 91.4% of children experienced clinically significant improvement six months post program. The counter argument presented by RedCliff Ascent is not only biased as the research was initiated from a wilderness therapy company, but they do not provide a sample size. This is important because when making conclusive statements such as “Over 90% of adolescents contacted perceived wilderness therapy as effective” they could be talking about six out of seven children or two hundred out of two hundred twenty (RedCliff Ascent). Through further research, the same results can be presented without the use of wilderness therapy. An article by the American Psychology Association (APA) titled “Better options for troubled teens” presents a series of studies and programs that was created to help adolescents. These programs focus on community-based activities, activities to help connect teenagers with their parents, and activities that align with the teens interests. This includes computer labs, dance studios, and machine shops. These programs have found significant success in decreasing the amount of juvenile offenders from 50% to 4% in an area of Connecticut (APA). It did this by helping teens take accountability and understand their actions. It utilized role play, writing assignments, and guided discussions between the teens. Overall, the troubled teen industry has caused abuse, trauma, and death to many children across the United States. It is a trap for children and a trick for desperate parents. Through the personal stories from teens and parents, reports of mistreatment, and protests it can easily be seen the impact and the importance of preventing this industry from expanding, instead increasing regulations and transparency to protect America’s children. To keep these children safe it is imperative that everyone works together to enact legislation. Your support matters to keep America’s children protected.

Hi, I've been collecting anime ost vinyls since covid started, but I realized it a while ago that I haven't even listened once to some of them and so I decided to downsize my collection. All of the vinyls I'm selling are unplayed. I sorted out my collection and made a google sheets file more than half a year ago, but ended up not posting it (probably thanks to my ADD). Finally I decided to check the value of them and try to give a fair selling price. Since I made this list I had preorders arrive so I will most likely update it in the future with a few more like Tamako Market, No game no life, Saya no Uta...
About the items: The discogs link should take you to the vinyl's correct variant page, "-" means there were no variants. Condition of these are all unplayed, "new" and "like new" means the same = opened, sleeve changed to the better one and put inside a record sleeve.
About the prices: I looked at sold discogs, ebay items and tried to give a fair estimate.
About the transaction process: I will send you a paypal goods and services invoice. I don't charge extra for paypal fees. You can pay in euro or usd.
About Shipping: I only shipped figures before and not vinyls, but shipping cost to EU countries should be around 15-25 euros. I can ship outside the EU, but it's usually expensive 35-50 euros. Local pickup in Budapest, Hungary is also an option :) I bought some vinyl mailers, kept some good quality ones from hhv, blackscreenrecords and the expensive ones will be shipped bubble wrapped in a box, like how cdjapan ships them.

Growing up in Nor-Cal I always heard Brotha Lynch & X-Raided on repeat and considered them up there with famous rap legends. I am not really involved in the rap or hip hop community but recently I was discussing favorite artists with a group of people who are very into rap music and they had no idea who they are. I live in Washington now and am wondering if they were/are only well known and regarded regionally in California? I didn’t expect people to know other nor cal artists like Woodie or SPM, but they also didn’t know Mac Dre or E-40, and were only vaguely familiar with Too Short, is this an age or regional thing?
