Dear Ricardo and Rucoy Online community,
I've been thinking about ways to further expand the gameplay and fun in Rucoy Online, and I wanted to share an idea for an exciting update: new abilities for characters to reach skill level 300 in their respective classes.
Knight: Hammer
Description: The Knight delivers a powerful hammer blow that causes damage in an area around the character. Mechanics: When activating the skill, the Knight deals damage to all nearby enemies, similar to the Double Shield skill. Cooldown: A significant cooldown to balance its power, ensuring it can be used strategically in important battles.
Archer: Silver Arrow
Description: The Archer fires a special silver arrow that deals more damage but hits fewer targets. Mechanics: The Silver Arrow has a shorter range, but deals significantly more damage to a single target. Ideal for dealing with powerful enemies or bosses. Strategy: Offers a new layer of strategy for the Archer, who can choose between hitting multiple targets with lower damage or focusing on a single enemy with amplified damage.
Mage: Arcane Healing
Description: The Mage summons powerful healing energy that restores a considerable amount of health to nearby allies. Mechanics: Arcane Healing can be used to heal the Mage himself or nearby allies, providing an important tactical advantage in prolonged combat situations. Cooldown: Like the other skills, it has a long cooldown to prevent overuse and promote strategic use. These new abilities would not only increase the depth of gameplay but also encourage players to continue progressing through their classes to unlock exciting new powers and abilities.
I would like to hear community feedback on this proposal and, if possible, discuss how it could best be implemented to enhance the gaming experience in Rucoy Online.

I have a bunch of PDF scans of checks with their info written at the top of each page in a table.
I am trying to make a database that would combine the tables of each page into one. Each table requires the same transformations to be done to it but when I pull the entire PDF into my spreadsheet I cannot figure out how to isolate only the correct table data.
My current bandaid fix is to split the PDF up by page, convert the one table and have a the entire folder be referenced to merge the data that way instead. I know there's an easier more optimal way... just not sure what that would look like.

Although some aren't progression fantasy, I'm mainly looking for something like MOL or TBATE, and The Legend Of The Arch Magus, with a decent magic system, good characters that have some depth, decent pacing, and the main character being very impressive in some way or OP, without it becoming boring or unenjoyable. Also, I am not a fan of stories that have "systems" or progression through levels all that much. (I like the idea of the MC having knowledge or power that they couldn't possibly have and leaving a big impression on others),
If you know any like that which are also audiobooks, it would be greatly appreciated. I've tried to get into others similar to these, but none of them hooked me and kept me entertained for the majority of the time like these books have. The second book I listened to was MOL, and I have never been so hooked and invested/addicted to something before. TBATE and The Legend Of The Arch Magus were similar in that way, as well as Worm.

Hi everyone,
I want to derive the error or accuracy in meters derived from a path loss model with shadowing (slow fading).
Something like taking the Friis equation and see how a variation in the received power (due to slow fading or additive Gaussian noise) impacts the distance (d) between tx and rx.
For this reason I assume a log-distance model PL(db) = PL(d0 )+10αlog⁡(d/d0 )+Xσ, where Xσ is a log-normal distribution (shadowing is modeled as a Gaussioan PDF in logarithmic) with mean 0 and standard deviation σ in dB (lets say σ = 12 dB), PL(d0) is the path loss associated to a known distance and α is the path loss exponent (lets assume it is 4).
My approach is to derive the path loss with respect to the distance (i.e., dPL/dd) and equal it to 12 dB, but somehow I think this is not correct.
Does anyone know have a better approach? Thank you in advance!

Common mode chokes make sense for power inputs when there are three terminals: power line, power return line and an "earth ground". You measure the noise of power line with reference to earth ground (or power return line with reference to earth ground), and a common mode choke along with Y capacitors filter the common mode noise nicely. However, imagine you are designing an automotive circuit and you are powered by car battery remotely. Your power return is connected to battery negative terminal, and the measurement device also measures noise with reference to battery negative terminal. Isn't this basically measuring differential noise? If so, is there really a need for common mode chokes for power lines with only two terminals? I would rather use a single inductor or a ferrite bead.
For those uninitiated, there are Conducted Emission standards for automotive, military etc. grade circuits, where common mode noise is measured with a circuit called LISN (line impedance stabilization network), which is sometimes also called AN (artificial network). Here is a datasheet/application note of a LISN. In Figure 1, you can see the what's inside the LISN (what is important is measurement device will be connected to J4, whose reference is connected to P2 and P4 terminals. In Figure 10, you can see the connections I mentioned.

So I started recording the NPCs responses to each movie, because while the wiki says who likes, loves, or dislikes each film, it doesn't say what each NPC has to say about it. I think the theater reveals a lot about the NPCs, but since you can only go once a week, and each movie only comes back every other year, you can't see all their responses without starting the same day over and over.
I still recommend you go to the movies with your four favorite NPCs, or the NPCs you think would be interesting with the movie, but this can help satisfy your curiosity for the others. I will update as I get to watch more movies.

I am trying to use Python to read in a PDF form so that I can fill all the elements and then create a new filled in PDF. I found code from this repo and everything works correctly for the most part, but some elements aren't being recognized. In my code, when I list all of the element names ("other, route_to_1, route_to_2, etc) all the names are correct and have been checked over and over. When I debug my code and look at the variable that stores all the form elements, it's simply misreading some of the elements. I am not sure what is causing this. Whether Acrobat made the form incorrectly, or if there's a problem with the code. Any help is appreciated. Here's the code I have:

I love the idea of Kosmik but the execution isnt quite there yet. I plan on trying it out further but theres a couple of things that get in the way. This is my first impressions review and what i intend as constructive feedback
Usability (testing on windows 10)
Smaller stuff easy to improve (but are creating attrition for me constantly)

• (BUG) For me right-click -> create if i dont navigate correctly to the desired option the sub-menu with the options disapear while the main right-click menu still shows. I need to close the menu and re-open it to try again
• Lack of basic keyboard functionality like shift+arrows for selecting text
• Wich is very weird- on one hand things like text editing are telling me 'this is mouse first', meanwhile i cant drag the canvas with the mouse, only by pressing space...?
• Im constantly confused by the delete key not working, instead only the backspace deletes cards
• Cards can only be resized on their corners
• I expected dragging urls would add then to the canvas and bookmarking being some sort of traditional bookmarks. Took me awhile to figure it out
• Theres a Tag button on the browser, but applying tags to the open browser and later closing the browser dont make that url appear anywhere searching for that tag
• 'Bookmarks'(urls on canvas) for me are failing to show any image or preview beyond the default space station illustration (except for kosmik own website)...
• ...and then the app prevents me from resizing the cards RATIO- i can make the card smaller but i cant make it more of a rectangle or very small, im forced to have a big square repeated ilustration for each, and with no alternative like folding then
• Absent settings for the overall app and smaller features or options- like ui size, custom keyboard shortcuts, dark mode

At least on windows feels a bit undercooked. I dont know wether some of those are design choices or features still missing but i feel the design a bit at odds- in some parts it conveys 'use mouse only/first' in others it demands keyboard, and in the mean time some of the common design patterns both for mouse and keyboard arent used or use some non-tradional choice- making it harder to learn, creating some confusion or wrong expectations.
For example the bookmark icon is a vey tradional and ubiqutuous skeumorphic symbol for a very common feature that saves urls or files in a list, tradionally urls. Some apps get away using then for favorite files, photos or other things given their context so the user can imagine the equivalent in a given context... but here it shows alongside the in-app browser, next to an url... Maybe a different icon, like a card with a Plus sign and a tip 'add to canvas'?
I dont understand why tags are in the browser if apparently they only work with cards added on the canvas. If the intent was treating the open browser as a canvas element then said browser should be like a card (for example being able to open multiple browser windows in different universes) as if they were cards. Right now the browser is like a temporary tool...
If the intention (im trying to deduce here) was to apply tags before bookmarking so the bookmark already apply said tags then both operations would work better together- 1 button, the add-site to canvas, and that button opening up a prompt to add tags before confirming if desired.
Overall- Service, app, marketing
I was a bit misled regarding expectations because of a video/moto 'best browser for research' - so i installed it expecting more of a Browser with a canvas then a canvas with a very limited in-app browser. So i came expecting multiple tabs or adding extensions...
I dont mean to say the app should be like a browser BUT it is a interesting area to improve and turn into its differential, given some of the competition and how most people would be using it alongside a browser anyway
In a general sense my impressions:
From the 'best browser for research' perspective:

• Some missing browser features creates attrition, like quickly switching between 2 sites (tabs or some alternative) or having common used urls quickly acessible (like favorites/bookmarks in a traditional sense)
• For example if i have a site i commonly use or search and wanted to quickly open the app requires we add then to a universe. If i make a universe of 'favorites' they will only open those sites on that particular universe... if i want those common shortcuts elsewhere id have to add then to each and every universe...?
• Given the research goal, existing features like tags and search i was expecting things like bookmarks could have descriptions. I can add a bookmark to a universe then create a text/note explaining it on 1 universe...
• ...but then i cant add that same bookmark and that text and its tags in another universe, unless i made a new repeated bookmark and written the same thing again
• Therefore 2 feature suggestions: (1)some bookmark list or browser, where the bookmarks can also have tags even if they exist globally (2)optional description for bookmarks, that would be acessible if/when theyre added from bookmarks to a canvas
• Some useful features from some browsers or famous extensions are great for research, like saving and reopening sessions...
• ...or searching through your history
• Theres complete obscurity how the app handles logins, cookies... or options for different profiles. We can make different universes, but i see no way of having different profiles/spaces (with different universes each) where one im logged in with my work mail and the other my personal one.

I wonder if the app allowed for pages inside cards (not previews, rendered pages) would be a good alternative for things like tabs
From a general canvas-notation perspective

• Universes even tough created/saved locally are always in sync with the cloud - im one of those people that dont like having sensitive data on clouds because leaks and data theft by hackers exist (and do hit even huge companies). I wouldnt create some of the universes/notes i naturally would take in Kosmik, only more general browsing links and quick notes- unless it had an option for optional local-only universes
• A lot isnt covered in the FAQ and i couldnt find the answers, such as:
• I see no options for exporting universes or its notes in any way
• I could have no sense if images copy-pasted/dragged from the browser are like urls the canvas render (so no file size) or copy-pasted files that hit the cloud space quota- im under the impression theyre all copy-pasted (and i feel like they shouldnt, the app should consider every url as that and render the url)
• I can see nowhere how much space been used, left, etc

I have used waaay too many notes and canvas apps in my search for the apps that filled that niche for me like id like, and heck for years a good app with canvas was my most wanted feature that almost no one was doing save for few clunky flowchart apps.
Im glad that now theres been a boom of options and ive been giving everyone a chance- but still not one have all the things id like (i could pinpoint a frankenstein of features from different apps id wish into one)... Kosmik is already ahead of half of the competition (imo) just by having both a native app and web view options, and by the apps having the files locally+sync instead of rendering from the cloud only all the time (much faster and snappiers wich is a big deal for me) - and the web/browsing+canvas angle is a very interesting proposition
But that is where i got disapointed- the web-browsing in app alongside canvas is still very limited to hit the potential of that proposition. As it is right now, for example, i feel more confortable having any browser in a smaller window and copy-pasting urls into Kosmik then relying fully on the internal browser, save for quick search queries
I focus so much on the browser aspect not only because it was how i first found about kosmik but also because without that angle it falls short on some alternatives. Not completely btw, drawing tools and pdf handling seem to be great and ahead of some alternatives (some are good at drawing but barely beyond that, others better as notes but with terrible or no drawing)...
But i still feel like the 'best app for research' (browser+canvas/notes+pdf), emphasis on the browsing is the best angle, best bet for Kosmik to grow above alternatives... but extra emphasis on potential- i dont feel like its hitting that note quite yet, at least not on windows.
I will try to stick with Kosmik for awhile despite the clunkiness and attriction i feel, but not as id like to use it and more like a buffer between traditional browsing/searching and taking my notes- im planing on inserting Kosmik in between as quick notes for links before later refering to then on notes elsewhere... but i confess im sort of forcing this workflow just to keep using kosmik and keep tabs on updates- im sticking around in the hopes of what may come and not for what it currently is.
I have high hopes for the app and in my case (i lean more towards power user then casual) even if i use other apps a good better version of Kosmik in this niche would fit for me even alongside other apps. Heck i currently use 2 similars in tandem (similar in notes/canvas) for their different strengths and niches- and neither have carved web browsing research as their niche

I even got a WIP title for this universe I'm thinking of making for this OC: "Saga of Blood"
Or perhaps "Phlebotoknights," which takes some inspiration from deadman wonderland in the sense that certain warriors will have specialized gauntlets that allow them to turn their blood into weapons or power up their weapons with their own blood.
Each blood type has an element type:
A+/A- Is fire, with A+ being Hellfire and A- being Brimstone (blue fire). It pairs well with slashing and martial weapons
B+/B- is Earth and Wind, with B+ being Terra and B- being Aeros. They pair well with two handed weapons and slashing weapons
AB+/AB- is Light and Dark, respectively, with AB+ being "Illuminus" and AB- being "Abyssus." They are proficient in Arcane magic.
O+/O- is water, with O+ being "Aquaria" and O- being "Stormont." They pair well with general magic and healing, making them amazing supporters who can fight.

Today illustrated that the Democrats have become America’s cheerleaders, emphasizing how investment in the nation’s infrastructure has created jobs and rebuilt the country. This week, the Biden-Harris administration is touting its investments in rebuilding roads and bridges, making sure Americans have clean water, getting rid of pollution, expanding access to high-speed internet, and building a clean energy economy, contrasting that success with Trump’s eternal announcements of an “Infrastructure Week” that never came.
The White House today announced that it has awarded nearly $454 billion in funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, including more than 56,000 projects across more than 4,500 communities across the nation. Those include fixing more than 165,000 miles of roads and more than 9,400 bridges and improving more than 450 ports and 300 airport terminals. It has funded more than 1,400 drinking water and wastewater projects and projects to replace up to 1.7 million toxic lead pipes, as well as more than 8,000 low- and zero-emission buses. It has funded 95 previously unfunded Superfund projects to clean up contaminated sites. It has improved the electrical grid and funded 12,000 miles of high-speed internet infrastructure, and exposed internet junk fees.
The White House explained that this investment is making it cheaper to install clean energy technology and lowering families’ monthly energy bills, and highlighted today the available rebates to enable people to take advantage of the new technologies.
On Wednesday, May 8, a report from the Semiconductor Industry Association and the Boston Consulting Group explored the “breathtaking speed,” as the president of the semiconductor organization put it, at which the industry is growing. In the Financial Times on May 9, John Thornhill reported that the CHIPS and Science Act, which provided a $39 billion investment in the semiconductor industry, has “primed a torrent of private sector investment.” With the influx of both federal money and an additional $447 billion of private investment in 83 projects in 25 states, the report forecasts that the U.S. will increase its share of global manufacturing capacity for leading-edge chips from today’s rate of 0% to 28% by 2032. Thornhill compared this investment to that spurred by Russia’s 1957 launch of the Sputnik satellite.
The Economist yesterday announced that the U.S. “is in the midst of an extraordinary startup boom,” and explored “[h]ow the country revived its “go-getting spirit.”
In contrast to the Democrats’ confidence in America, the Republicans are all-in on the idea that the country is an apocalyptic wasteland. At a rally in New Jersey Saturday, Trump announced: “On day one we will throw out Bidenomics and reinstate MAGAnomics.” He promised to extend his 2017 tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations.
But the gist of his speech was an angry, vitriolic picture of a failing nation full of “enemies” that are “more dangerous” than China and Russia and who are “going to destroy our country.” In his telling, the criminal case against him in Manhattan is “bullsh*t,” and President Biden has done more damage than the “ten worst presidents in the history of our country” combined: “[h]e’s a fool; he’s not a smart man…[h]e’s a bad guy…the worst president ever, of any country. The whole world is laughing at him.”
Trump lied that other countries are “emptying out their mental institutions into the United States, our beautiful country. And now the prison populations all over the world are down. They don’t want to report that the mental-institution population is down because they’re taking people from insane asylums and from mental institutions.” Then he riffed into “the late great Hannibal Lecter,” the fictional murderer and cannibal in the film The Silence of the Lambs, apparently to suggest that similar individuals are migrating to the U.S.
House Republicans this week are working to pass a nonbinding resolution to condemn Biden’s immigration policies, although it was Republicans, under orders from Trump, who killed a strong bipartisan immigration bill earlier this year.
The only way to turn back this apocalypse, Trump and his supporters insist, is to put Trump and his team back into the White House. From there, Republicans will return those they consider “real” Americans to power.
The last few days have added new information about what that means. On Thursday, May 9, Senators Katie Britt (R-AL), Marco Rubio (R-FL), and Kevin Cramer (R-ND) introduced the More Opportunities for Moms to Succeed (MOMS) act. Britt—who is best known for her disastrous response to Biden’s State of the Union speech from her kitchen—said the measure would provide a federal database of resources for pregnant women and women parenting young children, but that information excludes anything that touches on abortion.
The measure is clear that it enlists the government in opposition to abortion, but more than that, it establishes that the government will create a database of the names and contact information of pregnant women, which the government can then use “to follow up with users on additional resources that would be helpful for the users to review.”
A government database of pregnant women would give the federal government unprecedented control over individuals, and it is especially chilling after the story Caroline Kitchener broke in the Washington Post on May 3, that a Texas man, Collin Davis, filed a petition to stop his ex-partner from traveling to Colorado, where abortion is legal, to obtain an abortion. Should she do so, his lawyer wrote, he would “pursue wrongful-death claims against anyone involved in the killing of his unborn child.” Now Davis wants to be able to depose his former partner along with others he says are “complicit” in the abortion.
Antiabortion activists are also seeking to make mifepristone and misoprostol, drugs used in many abortions, hard to obtain. In Louisiana, state lawmakers are considering classifying the drugs as “controlled dangerous substances,” which would make possessing them carry penalties of up to ten years in prison and fines of up to $75,000.
More than 240 Louisiana doctors wrote to lawmakers saying that the drugs have none of the addictive characteristics associated with dangerous controlled substances and warning that the drugs are crucial for inducing routine labor and preventing catastrophic hemorrhage after delivery, in addition to their use in abortions. “Given its historically poor maternal health outcomes, Louisiana should prioritize safe and evidence-based care for pregnant women,” the doctors wrote.
Louisiana lawmakers also rejected a bill that would have allowed anyone under age 17, the age of consent in Louisiana, to have an abortion if they became pregnant after rape or incest. Passionate testimony from those who suffered such attacks or who treated pregnant girls as young as 8 failed to convince the Republican lawmakers to support the measure. “That baby [in the womb] is innocent.… We have to hang on to that,” said Republican state representative Dodie Horton.
Today, at the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies, a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization promoting Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander participation and representation at all levels of the political process, Vice President Kamala Harris encouraged young people to innovate and to move into spaces from which they have been traditionally excluded.
“So here’s the thing about breaking barriers,” she said. “Breaking barriers does not mean you start on one side of the barrier and you end up on the other side. There’s breaking involved. And when you break things you get cut. And you may bleed. And it is worth it every time…. We have to know that sometimes people will open the door for you and leave it open. Sometimes they won’t. And then you need to kick that f*cking door down.”
Harris’s advice reflects the history that happened on this date in 1862, when the enslaved mariners on board the shallow-draft C.S.S. Planter gathered up their families, fired up the ship’s boilers, and sailed out of the Charleston, South Carolina, harbor. The three white officers of the ship had gone ashore, leaving enslaved 23-year-old pilot Robert Smalls to take control. Smalls knew how to steer the ship and give the proper signals to the Confederates at Fort Sumter, Fort Moultrie, and three other checkpoints.
Smalls piloted the Planter, the sixteen formerly enslaved people on it, and a head full of intelligence about the Confederate fortifications at Charleston to the U.S. Navy. In Confederate hands, the Planter had surveyed waterways and laid mines; now that information was in U.S. hands. Smalls went on to pilot naval vessels during the war, and in 1864 he bought the house formerly owned by the man who had enslaved him.
A natural leader, Smalls went on to become a businessman, politician, and strong advocate for education. After serving in the 1868 South Carolina Constitutional Convention that made school attendance compulsory and provided for universal male suffrage, he went on to serve in the South Carolina legislature from 1868 to 1874, when he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, where he served until 1887. When President Barack Obama signed an executive order establishing the nation’s first national monument concerning Reconstruction, he cited the life of Robert Smalls.

It was over.
Before someone became a hero they read the legends over and over again. They heard the stories, followed the narratives, the arcs.
It wasn't supposed to end like this. Stories didn't end like this. Heroes didn't die like this.
But staring over at Marcus' cooling corpse on the ground, it'd become clear to Ashling that reality didn't care what things were 'supposed' to be. She'd followed every step, every guideline, each and every part of a complete journey and it hadn't been anywhere near enough.
The Dark Lich Venizierloomed over the dismantled party, his cold arcane gaze washing over the mix of dead and fallen in the room. Ashling was the only one with enough stength left to lift her head, but that didn't mean she garnered any more of his attention. It just bought her a front row seat to his acension.
"How dissapointing," the Lich's voice was cool but hateful at the same time, "so confiedent and yet, so fragile. Just like the others."
Ashling had gotten disarmed in the fight, her holy blade flying across the room in the first seconds of entering Venezier's chambers. That had been the beginning of the end for her party... but then she'd gotten thrown around too.
As the only one with the strength to lift her head, Ashling saw her holy sword lying on the cold tile. If she could find the strength within herself, she could reach it and give her team a blessed chance. The holy warrior didn't dare take a deep breath to steel herself, so she did without.
One hand in front of the other.
Venizier floated to the front of the room, he didn't walk anywhere anymore, where his altar to the Dark Gods stood. How many of these Gods had he consumed? How many diivinities had he swallowed? It seemed impossible to forget but after millenia even the sharpest minds shaved off excess information. In the end, this was the only Dark God that mattered. The last one. If he consumed this spark of divinity, he could be the only thing left in this world with any power.
One hand in front of the other for Ashling. One leg at a time. Staying quiet.
Venizier would be the only one left. The only thing in ths wretched world he'd spent so long molding into his image. He could finally....
Finally what?
If Ashling's arms were just a little longer, or if she was a little taller, she could have reached her sword. She would have gotten there. Instead, Venizier's staff pressed down on the blade, the Lich flashing into existance in front of her a moment after he'd pinned her blade. She cried out, not in pain but in horror.
Venizier, the Dark Lord that had ruled the land for thousands of moons loomed over the would-be-hero as she puled on the blade, her strength waning each time.
What was he doing? What was the purpose of this? This was just....
Ashling pulled her blade free and staggered to her feet, but by the time she'd levelled her weapon, the Lich was gone. Venizier was missing, and the rest of her party was dead or dying.
Ashling dropped to her knees again. There woudn't be an apocolypse, but that didn't mean it wasn't the end of her world.
