Something i recently realised how funny it is that all of the Linkin Park members have just like the most basic names there are. I mean really its not an insult i love them but hearing the names (except for Chester mabye) sounds like a band full of mid 40s: Mike, Joe, Brad, Rob and Dave. I love this fact.

Iamroot DNS Lookup is an online tool for resolving domain names. Supports the most-common record types and performs secondary lookups on any references in the returned DNS records. Author flems77 explains, "MX Toolbox has a lot of excellent tools, but for basic DNS lookups, I had a really hard time finding any basic and simple tool with low-key results. So, I actually made my own."

Modifying XML, JSON, INI configuration files without sed is a detailed blog post explaining an alternative method for adjusting config files, including the relevant code. pdp10 favors this approach to using "sed, jq, xmlstarlet, augtool for elegantly modifying config files."

On Sept. 11, 2001, a series of terrorist attacks set me on a path to do three things: to correct misinformation as a life goal, to enter a field that in some way improves people’s understanding of their world, and to earn bipartisan respect in how I do it.
I’ve written an untold number of stories across 23 years and been taken to places new and old, familiar and fresh. I've interviewed rock legends, presidential candidates (well... one), and along the way met unforgettable sources ranging from a baby battling neuroblastoma to an elderly Lawrence woman growing a potato in her apartment and naming it like a son.
Of course, this path has had its drawbacks. I was told early on that “being a reporter doesn’t pay well,” and that I was entering a “dead industry” fresh from its collapse in 2008. But, after my first time talking to a doggie daycare that made the Today Show and becoming friends with a cat, I realized the career also paid in memories... amply... and there’s really no place I’ve worked that has created more memories for me than Salem. It’s the beat I’ve worked the longest as a reporter; the most recent Halloween marked my 10th in the city.
It also marked my last.
On Oct. 24, seven days before Halloween, I turned 40. I did so without having yet saved any money for retirement, and while working at least 70 hours per week at two to three jobs for the last several years. The combined paychecks still put me a good bit below median household income for the area — something that comes to mind every time I see a comment online that talks about how people should try living where they can afford to.
There's also a dark side to journalism that has emerged in the last half-decade, one that I’d argue doesn’t get enough attention. It’s one of the few industries that is entirely private while also being fully public-facing — journalists are effectively public officials, without the protections and benefits of being public officials. We take a lot of shots from readers, some of whom would delight in us being out of the job and financially destroyed, and we just chuckle and move on with our day.
For the dark side, there’s also the light. In some parts of the real world, journalists are thanked for their service as if we’re active military. I’ve been compared to nurses working the pandemic, held up as a leader stabilizing a maligned society, and invited to share my perspective and experiences with high school classrooms, podcasts, even Boy Scout troops.
Being a reporter pays well in the memories you collect along the way (thankfully they aren't subject to a tax). To that end, I’ve at times felt wealthy for having the privilege of covering a city like Salem — even with its dark underbelly actively arguing that I shouldn’t have a job or be allowed to exist.
With this double-edged sword equipped for so long, I knew I’d put it down at some point. When thinking about the kind of job it would take to leave the news industry, I found there was really only one that kept coming up in my mind: an opening in Communications at my Alma Mater, UNH. That would honestly be a dream... a position like that opening at a college campus I knew so well. To my fortune, that exact position opened in my backyard toward the end of 2023, on a college campus I know just as well as UNH — if not better.
In early June, I’ll be switching careers as I assume the role of Associate Director of External Communications at Salem State University.
I loved my college experience and always joked that if I won the lottery, I'd go back to school and get a degree in physics, do something nutty with string theory. But really, there’s something about the college environment where I’m most comfortable: everybody is there to learn and grow, and, from each graduate, society receives an opportunity for transformation. The feeling you get walking through a space like that can't really be replicated anywhere else... At least that's the fuzzy feeling I get when walking onto a college campus.
It’s hard to imagine leaving the only world I’ve known professionally and no longer covering the city I love, but I’m not going that far. I’m still working in the same beautiful city and would love for you to say “hey” when you see me out doing whatever. You may also see my byline from time to time, and I think I'd even like to continue doing “the spreadsheet” each night polls are open.
But, for now, this bro is going off the record to go back to school.

I have a table tbl_task with tasks and abbreviations of names that belong to the task. I have a second table tbl_abbr where all abbreviations are listed in one row and the full names in the second row.
Now I would like to create a pivot chart that shows the full names and also lists all tasks that belong to that name.
I used relationships to connect the two tables by abbreviations. But when I create the pivot table with tasks and full names it simply lists ALL tasks under every name, not just the ones that belong to the corresponding name. Is there some kind of troubleshooting I can do to test if the relation I setup actually works?

Hi, suffering from shoulder discomfort for years. Only namely when I sleep on either side.
Idk much about muscles etc but it's directly on the 'ball' bone joint at the edge of the shoulder blade - just above the armpit. Was told by physio that's it not rotator cuff.
After looking it up, I think it's at the glenohumeral joint joint? and then either teres minomajor muscles. It's directly on the ball, both sides. Funny I can't seem to find much relatable stuff about the discomfort. Been hitting the gym for a while, doing dumbbell pullovers, lat pulldowns etc it's better but I still haven't found the exercises/weight lifting that directly targets the area. Any advice?

A day ago I nearly lost it, it was late and getting ready for bed when one of his cats fell of cat tree, got scared and jump on their food bowls/water, it was a mess everywhere. Instead of cleaning it first my bf decides to go check on her and finds her hiding in the litter box, as he’s halfway cleaning she comes out her all body covered in litter walking across the living room, I’ve never been so grossed out in my life and he ran to go grab paper towels she freaks out again, jump on tv stand , cough and up then upstairs. I froze, didn’t want to touch anything nor take another step, stood there the all time as she cleaned everything, and I said tomorrow they gotta go. He didn’t say a word then later agreed he couldn’t do this anymore and wants them gone as well. He called a no kill shelter they placed us on a waiting list.
I’ve posted a few times about his cats, about 4 months ago he finally agreed on rehoming.I gave him till end of June to figure something or he goes with them .He posted them on facebook groups, was met with his mom guilt tripping him and me being the bag guy. Only 2 people showed interest the week they were posted , 1st was a crazy cat lady with like 15 of them who never came through, then the second one stopped communicating. Since then they’ve been a little worse with the throwing up everywhere. Last month I decided to take on some home remodeling (we stopped everything because “cats”) and I’ve had to redo the same thing 4 times because they keep destroying it and as for paint , it won’t dry because we can’t leave doors open for good airflow. We posted on a private website and paid to be featured still nothing. Any suggestions?

I lost one of my cats to cancer a month ago. She was 8 years old and her brothelitter mate is an only cat now. I was my dead cat's favorite person, she rarely let either of my parents pet her and I was the only person she'd respond to when she heard her name. I am the only person in my household that she was affectionate toward. I know my cat loved me, and I know that she knew I loved her. But now, I worry about my living cat. I think he's lonely. His sister is the 3rd cat I've lost in two years time. My living cat has lost all his playmates. He has started howling for attention at all hours of the day. Whenever I hear him, I sit on the floor and play with him until he gets tired. I've bought him a handful of new toys to entertain him while I'm at work, but my dad, (he works from home), says that my cat still howls so loud he can't hear his conference calls. I've told my parents that I think we need to consider getting another cat so my current cat isn't lonely anymore.
Even though I believe it would benefit my living cat, I can't help but feel like I'm betraying my dead cat by entertaining the idea of getting a new kitten. I was, and still am, my dead cat's mom. I feel like I still have so much love for her trapped inside me with nowhere to go. Sometimes I feel like I will combust without her. But I keep thinking about my dead cat watching me from the afterlife, and being sad when she sees me giving another random cat, the love that would have been hers. I feel so conflicted.

I just finished the third one - 'Land of the Dead' - and it while from annotations the trilogy sounded like just another military space opera it really resonated with me. I actually came for the archeology part in the first book, but stayed for the military and world-building.
The covers don't really do the trilogy justice, you can see that the artist only got a very vague description of the books/main character. The second book is especially laughable since the depicted big cat is actually a sentient bi-pedal alien in the book :D and not some kind of a pet.
I absolutely love the characters and the world-building (alternate history - Earth is ruled by a Mexica-Japanese empire + aliens + grand scheming + archeology).
It seems that the author is alive and well, I hope, but the last book is from 2009 and is also his latest book in general. The official website is down, and there is as good as no information online about these books except for some reviews, it looks like the trilogy/universe went completely under the radar. I found some info that the author planned at least 3-4 more books and even the planned titles are mentioned, but nothing more.
Does anyone know anything about the future of this universe or the author? He shares his name with some German movie maker which makes him more or less un-google-able.
