note: this is very long and i covered our entire relationship timeline, if you skim to the end you should probably still get a general idea of why i suspect this.
i'm recently out of a relationship and i have been going back and forth in my head for the last couple months trying to understand what happened, why did it end, did i do something to deserve the treatment i was getting after the breakup? i'm still there, in my head, trying to figure it out.
we were very long distance for the entire relationship, meeting online originally. when we very first got together things were very uncertain and there was no communication. to the point i didn't even know if we were really together. they left me the first time at the end of december, which lasted a whopping 12 hours or so. but we got back together under different circumstances, they suggested a third partner in a poly relationship. this arrangement lasted 5 days, the third partner was local to me and we were able to see each other in person leading to some jealousy and the ultimate decision for us to break off the third partner and try monogamy just the two of us because neither of us truly wanted to be in the arrangement and only agreed to keep the other around.
it's at this point i'd say our relationship officially started despite us saying we had been together the entire time and ignoring the other breakup/relationship we went through together. it's important to note that this was my first queer relationship as well. at the beginning, the day after we decided to be officially monogamous and serious about each other there was a revival in the extensive flattery i was receiving as well as flowers delivered to my house. this wasn't a red flag to me, from the start of january through the end of our relationship mid march they purchased the following for me: flowers twice, 3 semi expensive stuffed animals, custom matching tshirts, a plane ticket, a necklace, a few small things i can't recall off the top of my head and a ring (with the promise of forever, but never THE question.) i returned their energy in the beginning, posting each other frequently, talking often, gushing over each other. i didn't have the financial ability to return the gifting gestures to the extent they did but i did buy them this stuffed animal flower pot because they didn't have any florists near then to send an actual bouquet, a necklace, friendship bracelets i made them with meaningful lyrics (and matching ones with each others names), a few small things, and a ring. i did buy the ring for them after they hinted that they bought me a ring a couple times because while it felt really i loved them so much and knew if we were promising forever i'd want that with them. around a month into the relationship after a plane ticket had been purchased for us to meet in person (i was invited to join my partner and their friend on a trip where they would be closer to me for a few days so we could meet, the trip was not planned with the intention of me joining.) i told my mom about the trip i had planned to see "a friend" i had met online and this was going to be my first ever flight and my first ever trip "alone" as an adult. this information concerned my mother and caused her to snoop on my online presence in which she discovered that i was gay and the person i was going to see was much more than a friend. my mother then sent many very long and hurtful messages to me in a few where she expressed that she was mainly concerned for me because she was convinced that with the two bouquets i had received at that point that i was dealing with a narcissist and that my partner was actually manipulating me into the relationship and using me. my mother also messaged my partners parents informing them of our relationship before she had the chance to tell them (they were out to their family already but they hadn't told their family about me yet or the trip.) through this whole ordeal i ended up coming out to my family and leaning on my partner and mutual friends for support. during this time they assured me we could get through anything together. this time does stand out to me as a turning point in our relationship. this was shortly before valentine and despite stating they would send valentines flowers they stated they didn't want to "because they didn't want my mom to think they weren't being manipulative." weird but okay... until we met in person this as the end of the gifts. we met in person at the end of february. for a few weeks leading up to this trip i could feel the distance, my partner was avoiding me and not communicating what was going on . they posted less about me and were far less flattery than before while i tried to keep up the same level of affection and posting we had at the very start. as the trip approached the excitement of seeing each other seemed to revive their interest in me. the trip was very nice, it went well. we explored the local areas, watched movies, played board games, went to a museum all as a group with her friend. on the trip i had my first queer sexual experience with my partner. i was clueless and didn't get much guidance. very much played the role of a pillow princess at these times. (relevant later) it was on this trip we exchanged rings with each other, the rings weren't accompanied by any promises or questions. it was like trading friendship bracelets but in my mind it meant so much more. on the trip i started by wearing the ring on my left ring finger but after noticing she hadn't done the same i moved it to my middle finger. after a couple days together and a devastating airport goodbye we both headed back home over a thousand miles apart. immediately after the trip i could feel the distance again. they were pulling away and avoiding me and not really talking me what as going on. during this relationship both our attachment styles were very prominent and very different. they were more avoidant while i was very anxious. this dynamic made us both extremely anxious and when they pulled away i would get scared they were going to abandon me and i would freak out and text them, one time in particular it was quite a few messages. this is where this really started to confuse me on why and how this had to happen. after this deal out my partner expressed they needed space and they were testing me to see if i could give it to them if they ignored me all night cause i took a nap and they went to bed early so there was less time of us both being awake to expect conversation at all. after this i tried to respect their request for space and went to a friend for advice because i felt like she had been avoiding me so much since our trip that my needs weren't being met but she wanted space so i didn't feel i could talk to her about it and i was scared she was gonna leave me. she had told me that my constant posting her made her uncomfortable because she wasnt the type to post relationships all the time and my texting all the time was smothering. my friend advised me to look into attachment styles which is what led me to my observations regarding my anxious attachment style and her avoidant attachment. this also led me to discover i had become somewhat codependent on my partner. i then talked to my partner about what i discovered and promised to work on my anxiety about abandonment and make efforts to be more independent to give her more space. this space i was trying to give was however interrupted by our ex third partner resurfacing and creating unnecessary drama on social media. this filled an entire weekend and forced my partner and i to essentially form a united front against our ex. during this time i noticed my partner intentionally avoiding statements i made that solidified our relationship (ie. i said our relationship was strong and she intentionally didn't agree with me, she ignored my statement. and she later confirmed ignoring it.) she was avoiding telling me she loved me etc promises of forever. a couple days later she had liked an astrology post stating her sign was with the wrong person and i sent the post to her asking if everything was okay, she replied with a breakup message. we had a phone later that night where she told me that the distance was too hard after meeting in person when we hadn't been able to establish a solid base relationship in person and that it was the "responsible" thing to do to end our relationship because realistically neither of us would be able to afford to close the distance anytime soon and she had overspent on the last trip and she couldn't afford to do that as frequently as she'd want to see me. we ended by agreeing that we wanted to keep each other in our lives and that if circumstances were ever different we might try again. that same night we watched a movie on facetime together because earlier that day i had asked for a date night and she still wanted to do it.
for about 3 weeks following the initial breakup we continued to talk daily and she expressed uncertainty in her decision to end our relationship. i told her repeatedly that as much as i loved her and didn't want it to end i couldn't make the decision for her and that she had to decide what she thought was best. we even had a 3 hour phone where we agreed to stay together in this in-between place where we weren't broken up but weren't together while she decided. however in the first few days a mutual friend would send me 9mins straight of voices memos of her talking shit about me, telling them that the breakup was for many small petty reasons she had never mentioned to me (she blamed me for how much money she spent on the trip even though she refused when i initially asked her if i would need to pay for anything and she told me no, i walked too slow, her friend that was on the trip with us said i was talking shit about her because i told my partner that i had a great time on the trip and couldn't wait to go on a trip just the two of us, that i was too stuck on getting back together and it would only happened if i changed everything about my personality and calling me "gaslighty" for saying "let me know when you miss me i guess" after she ignored me for hours and told me she needed space) as well as a comment that the sex (my first time, remember) was bad.

it's now been 6/7 weeks since the initial half breakup, in that time i was initially posting on my private twitter account about being depressed and being hurt. she should be have seen those posts but she did see some of them and began subtweeting me from her main account. i was primarily expressing sadness while she was making petty digs with song lyrics. eventually it got to the point where she was posting something daily about me. my posts started getting more petty and more public as well as it continued. now these last couple weeks she has started talking to a new girl. she has been posting references to our relationship but associating them with her new gf. she has compared me and the new gf in public posts repeatedly. bragging about the distance being better, being more in love than she was before, etc. she has been saying anything to hurt me because she knows im looking because i keep reacting. in this time i have now done two things that were very out of character for me that i regret. i quoted her new gfs tweet with a petty response and immediately deleted it. her and her finds then called me a "psychotic freeloader" and this also got me blocked by both of them on all accounts. following this i did make a few very direct and petty subtweets since i was blocked and still amazed to see my ex and her new gfs tweets from a group account we shared with others. now i do want to say that in the moments i chose to act on these petty impulse i was very overwhelmed with hurt and anger but i also understand those feelings don't excuse my behavior. now to the worst thing ive done in reaction to seeing her moving on while im still grieving the end of our relationship. while very drunk and full of rage, i had the shell of an old instagram account with no posts/followers or anything and i changed the username to my exes new gfs full government name + a threat and proceeded to like a bunch of her new gfs instagram posts. there were also some tweets that my friends called concerning on my private twitter account (i continue referencing my private account because i had a private and a public account as did she) in which i made a comment along the lines of "because burning her house down would be wrong and require a plane ticket" with a photo of the polaroid i burned (just another picture to burn idk it was cathartic and i meant it as a joke but it concerned people.)
friends brought my actions to my attention and expressed their concern for me the following morning and i have made the decision to stop drinking (this as a recent habit to cope with the breakup) as well as deleting all social media at least until i have healed from this experience. i have apologized to all my friends for my actions (i couldn't apologize to my ex or her new gf bc im blocked everywhere.)
multiple people have come to me multiple times unprovoked since she got the new gf and told me that they've seen what my ex is doing to me and that i don't deserve the treatment and that they wish they could warn her new gf.
at this point i know i crossed a line with my actions, and i may have lost some friends for it but moving forward if im going to heal i need to understand what i also need to fix/work on so that nothing like this happens again. i can't control my own actions but i can't tell if i acted out because im secretly manipulative or if its because im simply reacting to the way ive been treated.
ive been trying to reframe our relationship in my mind to see it for what it really was so i can work on accepting that it was never as serious as i thought it was and that i was being used for a majority of the relationship but what if i've been the problem the whole time and just been convincing myself that it's not me when it is? was it both of us the whole time? are neither of us narcissists? are we both?
edit: i have been in a constant downward spiral since the breakup while she is "happy" and "moved on" and my presence on social media i'll media was a lot like self harm to see her moving on so publicly on the same platform our relationship started and was shown off for months and i have deleted all relevant social media apps at this time.

Currently I'm a college student with a LOT of opportunities, financial stability, and free time. This is a rare opportunity window in my life, and I want to make the most of it.
I volunteer a lot, but I feel like I am just addressing community level issues, which don't get me wrong, is super meaningful, but I'd like to learn more and be more involved in bigger picture change.
I also help out with campus student activism. Maybe I just am not talking to the right people, but everyone around me is more focused on issues like getting into law school or improving their resume. We just do the work, organize the event, and then don't discuss deeper into the social issues we're tackling.
I feel so crazy thinking about socio-political issues all the time, while everyone around me is just focused on making a living. But I just can't chill for some reason. I really want to find other people to talk about and tackle these issues with.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

A few days ago, my step dad, or at least he used to be, died. For 4 years of my life, he was my dad. I've had so many losses recently. Last year I lost my dad, then my gf cheated on me, then I lost my cat who I loved more than any pet I've ever had, my great grandma died, and now my step dad. I wasn't as close with him as my brother was, but it still hurts a bit. I'm 19 now, and he was the father figure in my life from age 10 to 14 before my dad came back into the picture from then until his death.
It really feels like a chapter of my life is ending, but damn does it hurt. I'm lucky to have some great friends and a close bond with my mom and brother, but I'm scared. I don't want to lose anyone else. I can't take anymore heartache. I've been so depressed with all this that I barley leave my room. All I do is talk with my friends, listen to music, and write. I wish to be an author one day, but man, I'm living a lonely life right now. All my friends live far away now, and aside from going swimming at this nice lake near me in the summer, I rarely leave the house.
I just feel disappointed. In myself mostly. I want to get my life on track and go chase my dreams, but I'm holding myself back with anxiety and the fear of failure. Now, the fear of losing more people. Life is for sure passing me by a bit, I only wish I can start to live instead of simply exist. In the sea of cultures, experiences, and people that this world is, I feel like I'm chained onto an island over it all. I know I have the key, but for some reason I can't bring myself to set myself free. I almost feel selfish with all the posts I've seen here. People genuinely have no one because that's just how it went. I have people, so why do I still feel so damn isolated? Not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. It's strange, it seems when humanity has all the tools in the world to socialize, we isolate more. Odd.

Backstory: I love my sister very much and want the best for her, but is stuck acting like a teenager. She is 23 and in her last semester of college of a degree my parents chose for her and have basically tutored her through it. She must get an internship or complete a capstone project to graduate, but refuses to apply because of fear of rejection from past experiences. I consistently remind her she needs to apply. She is very introverted and shy. A couple months back she moved in with me in a plan to smoothly make her more mature. She pays rent, but treats me like mom and dad in that she hardly does dishes, clean, or buy groceries. This is a problem because my girlfriend is super clean. My gf also plans to move in with me in a year, which angered my sister who formed a backup plan to move back in with my parents which I view as a step backward in her maturing.
Questions: How do I get my sister to become more independent?
Ideas: If she applies for one job, I will give her free rent for a month ($500) but everyday she doesn't the discount is halved.
I get her a counselor to talk through these issues.

After four games, it seems pretty clear that the Miami Heat just don’t have enough talent on their roster right now to hang with the Celtics. All game long, Stav Van Gundy was slamming Boston’s defensive effort from the broadcast booth, and yet they were blowing Miami out. Maybe Joe Mazzulla was right, at least in this series, about playing the percentages and letting Miami’s wings shoot from the outside. But that being said, though the outcome of the series isn’t in doubt, there are still things that the fire of the playoffs can reveal about a team. In this case, I feel there are two things that have crystallized for me in watching these first four games.
First and foremost, this is still a defensive team at heart, at least based on the roster. They misled us all season by blasting teams to smithereens with superior firepower, but the way they’ve won for the last few years with this core is defense. With the best defensive backcourt in the NBA and the top six players in their rotation all being well above average on that side of the ball, they should have a superior defense to every team in the playoffs except for possibly Minnesota and Orlando. With Kristaps Porzingis and Derrick White, what they’ve really done is improve their shaky-at-times offense to complement their elite defense.
However, I’m not sure that Joe Mazzulla realizes this. We have evidence that he is an offense-leaning coach. He shied away from the Robert Williams + Al Horford lineup that was their bread and butter during the Ime Udoka season, preferring instead to play small and free-flowing while shooting a lot of three-pointers. The way they’ve played all season has reinforced that ideology. But the overwhelming advantage they have against nearly every team in the league, an advantage that popped up in flashes against the Heat, is that when this team locks in defensively and applies the same pressure they did under Udoka, they are really, really difficult to score and take care of the ball against. And with the new rules allowing for increased physicality from defenders this year, the Celtics are one of the teams best positioned to take advantage. Their roster is nigh perfect for slowed down, sloppy, physical playoff games. I’m just not sure the coaching staff knows that.
On the subject of offense though, it has become increasingly clear that Jayson Tatum is simply not the kind of player you can describe as “being an offense unto himself.” He is a very skilled offensive player, but he’s not the kind of player who can get your team through a tough stretch by just demanding the ball over and over again, at least not in most games. This means the Celtic offense has to have all of its major pillars running in order to score efficiently enough to beat the best teams. These pillars are, in my estimation: Jayson Tatum punishing other perimeter players inside the arc; Porzinigis punishing switches; Derrick White and Jrue Holiday getting penetration /moving the ball; Jaylen Brown attacking as an opportunistic supplementary scorer, usually by using his explosiveness. Their importance is, perhaps, in that order. If one isn’t working in a particular game, they should move down the line and try to extract more from one of the other three areas.
What is the point in saying all this? Well, the Celtics would be well served cutting out everything that doesn’t fall into one of these pillars. Now, obviously if other players have opportunities to score, they should take them; I’ve totally come around on Sam Hauser, for instance, and I feel very good when the ball ends up in his hands from beyond the arc. But in the halfcourt, there should be no “fluff” possessions where one or more of the pillars is cast aside in favor of, say, Jayson Tatum draining the clock dry and then shooting a stepback three over a defender he could easily score on inside the arc. Or letting Jaylen Brown try to isolate on a “weak” defender over and over again while Derrick White and Jrue Holiday sit in the corner, neglected.
Again, if Jaylen Brown is having one of those games where he has somebody in the torture chamber like he had Luka Doncic earlier in the year, then by all means, exploit that matchup. But when the offense is struggling, as it will in the playoffs, the Celtics should look to the pillars to find ways to score. We’ve been talking all year about how the Celtics have five potential All-Stars in their starting lineup. It is time they use them.

- The CPFC FAQ Page states "Each Member will be able to purchase two tickets for Category A home fixtures, between two to four tickets for Category B home fixtures, and four tickets for Category C home fixtures". You can also check this for each individual game on the Home Ticket Sale Dates page.

You earn Crystal Palace loyalty points every time you spend money at the club, whether it be on memberships, tickets, or in the online store. Tickets for home and away matches are usually sold in phases, starting with season ticket holders who have a certain number of loyalty points. After a day or two, the remaining tickets are made available to season ticket holders with a lower number of loyalty points. And so it goes until all tickets are sold.It's therefore suggested that you build up your loyalty points if you want a match day ticket.
Other Ticket Options
If you're unable to get a match ticket via the method outlined above, you can scour the CPFC message boards to see if anyone has a spare ticket available. One of the better places to find a ticket is in the Ticket & Travel Talk forum on Holmesdale.net. Tickets advertised in the forum are only to be sold at face value so you shouldn't get scammed. However, you should use the site at your own risk and also be aware that sellers usually want to any potential buyers to have an active history on the site itself.How to contact the Box Office

I'm finally finally finally going to the academy! Okay short back story I'm a professional fighter soon to finally he a dog groomer. As a kid only two things I've ever wanted to do was be a professional athlete and be a dog groomer dogs are my absolute life. Where I grew up being a dog groomer was impossible I'm from a small town. Fast forward. I spent 3 years trying to get hired at a petco or petsmart had interviews everywhere and nobody would hired me I later found out it was because I'm a man and this is a woman dominated field literally got told than from a interviewer also I tried even working for free at a private shop in order to learn nobody would give me a chance. My friends mom taught me a alittle bit I've groomed about 4 dogs with her but she was extremely unreliable. Fast forward I have another interview at one last petsmart the salon leader hired me as she loved my story. I have been here a year and a half and finally going to the academy in July . Reason it took so long is because for the longest we had to many groomers but we just lost 3. I am extremely excited I absolutely love working at petsmart as well because my salon leader is amazing and my coworkers are as well. They also get paid very well our highest paid groomer averages around 1000 or more a week she's our fastest groomer the other full time groomer makes around 800 a week and our part time groomer make about 600 or so a week (I always ask salaries) now I love petsmart but I'm not going to stay here my whole career after academy I plan on doing a full year or so there as the groomer then I'm going to switch and go to a private shop where I will learn different things can do more and also make more money after that. Far down the line I plan on going mobile and working for myself. Just wanted to share that I am extremely extremely extremely excited for this!!!!

2024.05.01 09:28 A_Story_To_T3ll Two Observations About The Celtics After Four Playoff Games
After four games, it seems pretty clear that the Miami Heat just don’t have enough talent on their roster right now to hang with the Celtics. All game long, Stav Van Gundy was slamming Boston’s defensive effort from the broadcast booth, and yet they were blowing Miami out. Maybe Joe Mazzulla was right, at least in this series, about playing the percentages and letting Miami’s wings shoot from the outside.
But that being said, though the outcome of the series isn’t in doubt, there are still things that the fire of the playoffs can reveal about a team. In this case, I feel there are two things that have crystallized for me in watching these first four games.
First and foremost, this is still a defensive team at heart, at least based on the roster. They misled us all season by blasting teams to smithereens with superior firepower, but the way they’ve won for the last few years with this core is defense. With the best defensive backcourt in the NBA and the top six players in their rotation all being well above average on that side of the ball, they should have a superior defense to every team in the playoffs except for possibly Minnesota and Orlando. With Kristaps Porzingis and Derrick White, what they’ve really done is improve their shaky-at-times offense to complement their elite defense.
However, I’m not sure that Joe Mazzulla realizes this. We have evidence that he is an offense-leaning coach. He shied away from the Robert Williams + Al Horford lineup that was their bread and butter during the Ime Udoka season, preferring instead to play small and free-flowing while shooting a lot of three-pointers. The way they’ve played all season has reinforced that ideology. But the overwhelming advantage they have against nearly every team in the league, an advantage that popped up in flashes against the Heat, is that when this team locks in defensively and applies the same pressure they did under Udoka, they are really, really difficult to score and take care of the ball against. And with the new rules allowing for increased physicality from defenders this year, the Celtics are one of the teams best positioned to take advantage. Their roster is nigh perfect for slowed down, sloppy, physical playoff games. I’m just not sure the coaching staff know that.
On the subject of offense though, it has become increasingly clear that Jayson Tatum is simply not the kind of player you can describe as “being an offense unto himself.” He is a very skilled offensive player, but he’s not the kind of player who can get your team through a tough stretch by just demanding the ball over and over again, at least not in most games. This means the Celtic offense has to have all of its major pillars running in order to score efficiently enough to beat the best teams. These pillars are, in my estimation: Jayson Tatum punishing other perimeter players inside the arc; Porzinigis punishing switches; Derrick White and Jrue Holiday getting penetration /moving the ball; Jaylen Brown attacking as an opportunistic supplementary scorer, usually by using his explosiveness. Their importance is, perhaps, in that order. If one isn’t working in a particular game, they should move down the line and try to extract more from one of the other three areas.
What is the point in saying all this? Well, the Celtics would be well served cutting out everything that doesn’t fall into one of these pillars. Now, obviously if other players have opportunities to score, they should take them; I’ve totally come around on Sam Hauser, for instance, and I feel very good when the ball ends up in his hands from beyond the arc. But in the halfcourt, there should be no “fluff” possessions where one or more of the pillars is cast aside in favor of, say, Jayson Tatum draining the clock dry and then shooting a stepback three over a defender he could easily score on inside the arc. Or letting Jaylen Brown try to isolate on a “weak” defender over and over again while Derrick White and Jrue Holiday sit in the corner, neglected.
Again, if Jaylen Brown is having one of those games where he has somebody in the torture chamber like he had Luka Doncic earlier in the year, then by all means, exploit that matchup. But when the offense is struggling, as it will in the playoffs, the Celtics should look to the pillars to find ways to score. We’ve been talking all year about how the Celtics have five potential All-Stars in their starting lineup. It is time they use them.

I am pretty happy with most aspects of my life, I have a good health, family, a great partner, good friends and no worries about money, but there are still insecurities or issues that I deal with from time to time. I have a friend who I mostly communicate with via text because we live far from each other and can’t meet often, but we’re pretty close and talk about things openly, at least that’s what I like to believe. From the outside, she has a good life as well (relationships, family, no financial issues etc.) however she seems to have zero insecurities or issues. Everytime I talk to her about insecurities of mine she says she couldn’t relate and she basically never has any problems with her mental health or confidence. Whenever I tell her about something she doesn’t have, for example something I bought that she couldn’t afford if she wanted to, she basically says it wouldn’t matter to her anyways.
Since I don’t see her very often, I can’t really tell what she’s actually like in real life but when I do meet her, I feel like she’s actually pretty shy and sometimes I feel like she just can’t admit that she’s jealous of other people.

Classes should not be cancelled. University operations should not be disrupted. I am on neither side and couldn’t care less about the whole thing. It’s simply unacceptable that tuition-paying students who care about their classes are getting them cancelled. Due to the violence tonight, there’s lots of talks of it and it has a serious bearing on my education.
Edit: to predict comments, i don’t care who started the violence. I don’t care who did what. I just want it all gone because I don’t care for it and it’s affecting me and my education, that I pay lots of money and take out loans for.

Hey everyone, this weekend I'm going to host a one-shot TTRPG in a local event and I thought I'd share my game here, both because it's fun sharing with fellow enthusiast, but also I'd love to hear your thoughts! It's a bit of a reading so bear with me.
It's meant to be a relatively simple and light-hearted game with a lot of action, some humor and some shock value. So don't take it *too* seriously. Feel free to point out any lore mistakes. There is no pressure to make it too accurate but I'm happy to correct some stuf
"The Callout"
(Very important to note the name is a pun. It’s callout as players are summoned to deal with a problem, but also the word sounds like fallout and the first part sounds like Cola)
Background
Somewhere in Massachusetts, which their CEO was said to own half of, NukaCola Company works with Vault-Tec for a special Vault. Externally, it was the companies collaborating as part of a PR stunt for NukaCola’s 30th year, opening in 2074. The Vault would be built beneath the biggest NukaCola factory ever (that's also constructed as part of this) and everyone who worked there would get a spot in this uniquely structured, big Vault. This factory’s output wouldn’t be sold retail, all would be distributed to Vaults.
Of course, this also attracted people in droves. The wages were exceptionally low, but it was worth it considering a lot of people didn't have the money to purchase vault spots.
The underground Vault was indeed not a traditional one. In fact, it was a lab. NukaCola Company conducted experiments there that they couldn’t anywhere else, as they had some "privacy" backed by Vault-Tec. And the spots for workers were basically cryochambers and cages for them to be experimented on.
Nuka Company started these even before the bombs fell. Vault-Tec wasn’t happy about it as they didn’t want any suspicion drawn on the Vaults. However, NukaCola CEO John-Caleb Bradberton knew the dirt on Vault-Tec and he had the power to expose them, so Vault-Tec didn’t do anything… directly. Instead, they used their influence to restrict the LEAP-X program and misinform him about “15 pounds of human material” limit. Vault-Tec wanted him out of the game and didn’t expect Bradberton to commit to his head being preserved. They also had a surprise for the Vault.
When the bombs fell, the factory was hit. There are no records of why it was hit, but apparently the Vault had some very sensitive electric lines above that controlled the door and it malfunctioned, causing everyone inside to be irradiated. On top of that, a new Overseer emerged to take control of the vault.
How? Multiple sabotages. VaultTek provided faulty door controls and the connection with the electric lines closer to the ground. While Bradberton was smart, he and his organization had no experts that weren’t secretly bought by Vault-Tec. It was set up in a way that a slight quake, which was bound to happen when the use of Vault was relevant, would get the door open.
And the Overseer? That was RobCo. During their construction, RobCo was testing a new line of multi-purpose robots and they were willing to charge almost nothing since it would be a good demonstration of the robots and good publicity, being part of the PR stunt. It was very plausible.
In truth, this was one of the locations House was trying to set up as a base in the East Coast, as part of his grand plans. But, things didn’t go the way he planned either as he didn’t realize VaultTek’s sabotage, thinking the doors would be opened years later and his hidden away Overseer would only come to effect once the world starts repopulating. He also did not know about the experimentation that Nuka Cola planned, thinking this would be a Vault filled with workers and some kind of “communist experimentation” (in his defense, which was the plans by Vault-Tec at the earlier phases)
Now, Vault-30N (for 30 years of NukaCola) is filled with uniquely mutated ghouls, a surviving ghoul doctor with a special friend that continues the experiments and a robot Overseer that is very confused on how to deal with all of this.
Some experiments that happened:
And that’s how it starts. People see some strange lights coming from the destroyed Nuka Cola factory and want it checked out.
The game will be going through the different floors, facing mutants, hearing messages from the Overseer and finding out some truths about the whole thing. The Doctor and the Overseer will both offer alliance. The Doctor says he has knowledge of hidden Nuka Cola safe houses with a lot of supplies and tools that could help a lot of people, if they kill the Overseer. The Overseer offers a strong ally in himself but mostly plays into the ethics card, calling the doctor evil and pointing the many workers still in cryo chambers that can be saved. Do the party do the “right thing” and kill the evil doctor? Or do they let the doctor continue what he’s doing but get supplies that help a lot of people? Or do they kill both and try to take over the Vault?
So - what do you think?

Of course, this also attracted people in droves. The wages were exceptionally low, but it was worth it considering a lot of people didn't have the money to purchase vault spots.
The underground Vault was indeed not a traditional one. In fact, it was a lab. NukaCola Company conducted experiments there that they couldn’t anywhere else, as they had some "privacy" backed by Vault-Tec. And the spots for workers were basically cryochambers and cages for them to be experimented on.
Nuka Company started these even before the bombs fell. Vault-Tec wasn’t happy about it as they didn’t want any suspicion drawn on the Vaults. However, NukaCola CEO John-Caleb Bradberton knew the dirt on Vault-Tec and he had the power to expose them, so Vault-Tec didn’t do anything… directly. Instead, they used their influence to restrict the LEAP-X program and misinform him about “15 pounds of human material” limit. Vault-Tec wanted him out of the game and didn’t expect Bradberton to commit to his head being preserved. They also had a surprise for the Vault.
When the bombs fell, the factory was hit. There are no records of why it was hit, but apparently the Vault had some very sensitive electric lines above that controlled the door and it malfunctioned, causing everyone inside to be irradiated. On top of that, a new Overseer emerged to take control of the vault.
How? Multiple sabotages. VaultTek provided faulty door controls and the connection with the electric lines closer to the ground. While Bradberton was smart, he and his organization had no experts that weren’t secretly bought by Vault-Tec. It was set up in a way that a slight quake, which was bound to happen when the use of Vault was relevant, would get the door open.
And the Overseer? That was RobCo. During their construction, RobCo was testing a new line of multi-purpose robots and they were willing to charge almost nothing since it would be a good demonstration of the robots and good publicity, being part of the PR stunt. It was very plausible.
In truth, this was one of the locations House was trying to set up as a base in the East Coast, as part of his grand plans. But, things didn’t go the way he planned either as he didn’t realize VaultTek’s sabotage, thinking the doors would be opened years later and his hidden away Overseer would only come to effect once the world starts repopulating. He also did not know about the experimentation that Nuka Cola planned, thinking this would be a Vault filled with workers and some kind of “communist experimentation” (in his defense, which was the plans by Vault-Tec at the earlier phases)
Now, Vault-30N (for 30 years of NukaCola) is filled with uniquely mutated ghouls, a surviving ghoul doctor with a special friend that continues the experiments and a robot Overseer that is very confused on how to deal with all of this.
Some experiments that happened:
- “Light” Experiments: The below were called light experimentation, conducted on the second floor. All the test subjects became ghouls with special behaviour.
- People fed only with NukaCola: Broccoli. This was going to be a “Vegan” product that secretly makes people crave meat, since burgers were one of the chief products that people drank Colas with. These people became regular ghouls with a hint of green and a hunger for flesh. These ghouls moved at the normal pace as a human, probably due to the constant sugar rush they’re in.
- People fed only with NukaCola: Lunch. This was going to be a “drinkable meal” product that tasted like various foods, but was basically flavored Cola. It completely messed up the hormones, making them hungry for more of the product. VERY hungry for it. It would’ve been on shelves soon. The test subjects basically have been consuming Colas when they find it, completely ignoring anything, to the point of forgoing their survival instincts. The longer one survives, the bigger bodies they have. Once killed, they explode, splashing Cola, stomach acid and gas around. They were faster than a human but could find it hard to navigate due to their expanded body size.
- People fed normal meals with Sunset Sarsaparilla for years, then given Codename: Reclamation, a product not to be launched normally, but a formula that is said to be Sunset Sarsaparilla, or even better. In truth, it’s meant to make hormones to fight against Sarsaparilla, causing nausea. Test subjects belch regularly, out of control. These were ghouls were akin to regular ghouls, slow to move but would sprint toward someone in pain when they were about to belch (a reflex that comes from going to nurses for help)
- People given pills with minimal nutrients and given a NukaCola for calories and everything else: These were given a specific brand of NukaCola and like Brocolli experiments, have different tints depending on what they were given. These were ghouls were akin to regular ghouls, slow to move.
- Heavier Experiments: Conducted in floor 3 and 4, these were considered “heavy” experiments
- Blood Transfusion: Conducted post-war by Doctor Nuka, workers who became ghouls got their blood replaced with cola. Result? Constant pain and a glowing aura matching the tint of the brand that was used. These ghouls would just stay their ground in pain, but once they saw something alive, they could run fast at them.
- Nuka Cola: FEV: It is unknown how Nuka Cola Company got ahold of the FEV virus. The Doctor used it on his right hand using a NukaCola mixture, Doctor Cola. She transformed into a brand of Super Mutant that was smaller than their usual kind, but kept more intelligence and was faster. Coming up with the right mixture used up the original FEV samples and she is unique.
- Nuka Cola NFEV: Through experimentation, the doctor created a different brand of Nuka-Cola infused virus. Well, he tried. It really didn’t work out. Testing on animals and humans alike, it just created mutants that had partial effects, like a human body with a super mutant head, a dog with incredible jaw strength, but also paws so heavy that it can’t move, etc.
- Others
- Nuka Officers: Security officers are still loyal to the company, because of the Red threat (see below) Not high in number, they carry arms. Experiments don’t seem to target them, except NFEVs, which attack everything in their sights.
- Overseer: The Overseer is a RobCo Securitron that was activated once the doors were open, which was right when the bombs fell. It was programmed to take over a communist experimentation, so it immediately reached out via announcement system to send some orders and propaganda to control the “workers”, but the only thing it ended up doing was to get Nuka Officers who were highly offended by this red propaganda to assault the Overseer office. It also alerted the Doctor, who immediately locked the Overseer out of electronic systems as he had intimate knowledge of them. The Overseer could only keep the Overseer’s office, but managed to lock the Doctor out of the security system, which was shut down. Overseer’s Office was a closed circuit on its own and had access to the announcement system.
- “Rebels”: Some of the experiments do believe there is a saviour out there. However, they are oppressed by the Doctor, the other experiments and the security officers.
And that’s how it starts. People see some strange lights coming from the destroyed Nuka Cola factory and want it checked out.
The game will be going through the different floors, facing mutants, hearing messages from the Overseer and finding out some truths about the whole thing. The Doctor and the Overseer will both offer alliance. The Doctor says he has knowledge of hidden Nuka Cola safe houses with a lot of supplies and tools that could help a lot of people, if they kill the Overseer. The Overseer offers a strong ally in himself but mostly plays into the ethics card, calling the doctor evil and pointing the many workers still in cryo chambers that can be saved. Do the party do the “right thing” and kill the evil doctor? Or do they let the doctor continue what he’s doing but get supplies that help a lot of people? Or do they kill both and try to take over the Vault?

I’m 20f my mom is in her mid 40s. I was taken away from my parents by DCFS at age 10 and had no contact with my mom until age 17, since we had been talking the past three years she’s brought up many times about how she wanted to move to my city to be near me and get a fresh start, she’s never made that big of a move but she wanted to so that she could be near me. Last month she finally put her foot down and booked a flight. I was excited and nervous but I trusted that she would be able to take care of herself to be ready to come to my city.
The day before she flew out she called me and told me that she was going to send me the money she had saved up so that I could have it for when she got here and we wouldn’t have to worry about anything happening with it. She sent me $350. I was taken aback but didn’t say anything because I had a feeling she hadn’t saved up much, I just didn’t think it would be that little considering she didn’t bring much belongings with her and she hadn’t secured a place to stay other than with me. At the end of that same phone call she told me she would likely be going through withdrawals 4-24 hours after she landed in my city. I didn’t know that she had been using up until she told me that. Granted I never asked, I just trusted that she would tell me considering I would find out either way once she came. I would’ve liked a little more notice than that though.
She flew in about 24 hours ago and after spending the day with her today I’m starting to panic and realize the extent of which my life might be changing from all of this. I’ve already caught myself filling a parental role for her, she hasn’t done anything to find a place to stay and I told her that she has 30 days with me but after that she can’t live in my house. I have a couple roommate situations lined up for her but I’m so scared that I might not be able to find her a place fast enough. She’s living on social security and low income housing can take years to be accepted into where I live.
I just feel a huge responsibility was put on my shoulders. I took a week off to spend with her for now but I really don’t want her to be living in my house while I’m working considering I have roommates of my own and I work overtime 5 days a week. I didn’t know how stressful this was going to be until now. I feel stupid and naive and absolutely terrified. I don’t think I was ready for this emotionally and I’m definitely not ready to offer help financially.
I don’t know what kind of advice I’m asking for I’m just scared and I think I’ve made a massive mistake. I’m doing everything in my power to stabilize this situation but with so little planning and help I have a feeling this might turn out really bad.

(CA) Basically, I was allowed to stay at home with parents until I finish college. It's been 5 years now due to certification courses, and I have 1 semester left, but things have been getting bad at home with them being controlling and abusive. We have an agreement that I would stay without paying rent until I finished school, but I've paid the water bill each month this past year and helped with groceries. I was also forced to choose a bedroom set or had to have one chosen when I was younger out of parent threatening to not have me stay without one, which amounted to about $3600, and I was pressured into giving $3000 for the cement put in the backyard because "[I] live here too." This money was taken out of a teen checking account created when I was a minor, and it was my FAFSA refund for school.
Recently, I had to call police on them because we were upset during an argument and they came at me with a knife. I didn't press charges and have just stayed to myself and avoided being in the same room as them and their partner (who also sided with my parent and thought being charged at with a knife was deserved). Today, I was being petty and tossed my parent's notepad and pen into the hallway after they came to talk to me since the partner decided to throw my belongings and ruin a painting I had a few weeks ago. Notepad was left because parent wanted to take notes on what I had to do if i reached to stay rent free, and left a rough printed agreement that I'd pay rent, and do certain tasks on certain days, which I refused to sign. Notepad toss basically turned into an argument and then they took my house key. Family offered me a place to stay but I want to stay here with access to my belongings since I work 2 jobs, coach, and go to school. It's midnight and they're basically waiting on me to leave the house so I can't come back in.
