I don't know if these are common or not, but they're things I found out in the past couple weeks since buying my Rogue. They might be mentioned in the owners manual, but I haven't gone through the whole thing yet, and didn't get any answers from Google searches either. Maybe they'll help somebody else who has these questions, maybe everybody already knew them and I'm late to the party lol. Anyway.

• If you have the engine shut off but still want to listen to the stereo, you can hit the radio power button. With the key in the ignition or not. If you open the driver's door it turns off.
  
• There are 2 trip odometers, the number 2 resets every time you turn the engine off.
  
• If you're using Android Auto to navigate but can't hear the voice instructions, when the nice map lady(depending on your voice option, maybe you have a different one than me) is speaking (there's a map icon at the top left corner indicating when she's talking, but when she stops, it goes back to main media volume, so you gotta be quick) use the volume knob to turn it up. This one felt really obvious to me once it dawned on me to try it today, after 2 days of trying to navigate a new city I was visiting. Even my wife called me a dumbass. I don't know if it works the same for Apple Airplay, but I would assume so.
  
• Turning on the Sport mode button really does give you a little extra kick, which is nice in city freeway traffic.
  
• Bumping the gear shift lever from D to manual mode at highway speeds doesn't just drop the transmission down a gear or 3. If you're in 5th gear and bump it over it stays in 5th gear. But pay attention! If you accidentally bump it over at a stop sign without realizing it, you're gonna stay in 1st until you figure it out. (I really wish there was a way to disable this feature)

Hi all! I’ve been searching for a Celica GT-S 7th gen for awhile. About 7 years ago I owned an 2004 WRX. Test drove a 2011 WRX last year and it was okay, but not as fun as I hoped. Now, a clean Celica GT-S popped up a few hour drive away.
1) Hoping to get some feedback and price and the car. I’ve tried to research as best as I can. I’ll be looking at this next Tueaday and paid the owners a small fee to hold it for me till then. Seem like really nice people.
2) I just want a good reliable car to drive that is nice to look at and fun. How will it compare to a WRX? For the $10k asking price I wonder if I should consider a WRX or Miata. Though clean WRXs are also hard to find, and perhaps the Celica will be more unique and fun.
Asking price: 10k (talked on the phone and they seem firm)
Specs - Clean title - 2002 GT-S - Manual 6 speed - 95k miles - No accidents (Clean VIN report) - Factory action package - Factory Silver - Stock except short ram intake - 2 owners (current owners are older folks, original owner put 35k miles on, current owners 60k miles since 2017) - Garage kept - Paint looks good (will determine paint and rust in person) - Leather seats w/ side airbags (side airbags are important to me) - Interior is in good condition w/ original stereo - Two interesting features I haven’t seen elsewhere: 2 sets of fog lights and 1 rear bumper light right under the lift gate, looks clean) - Comes with original wheels (poor condition) and new set of wheels
The car also comes with different Lotus badges and random Lotus flare. I’ve done extensive research to figure out if it was ever a thing that Lotus tuned a Celica, apparently the dealership 7 years ago told the current owners that Lotus made 50 of them. Sounds kinda hokey. I’ve found all the badges online for sale. Interestingly ChatGPT did say something about Lotus doing a special edition Celica, but my research seems inconclusive other than that. I don’t care much about the Lotus badges, I think someone just paid tribute to the Elise, doesn’t add or detract for me. Would be cool if it was tuned.
I may plan to do the ECU swap if I get it. Overall I really want a clean GT-S. I’m willing to pay for one, but does it seem a little high? Most GT-S I find are either trashed, or they’re still asking $8k and they’ve got $120k miles and not as clean as this one.

I have a 2022 3.3T Sport Prestige. The clearcoat on my wheels is starting to come off (as they seem to do). I am the second owner, so I wasn't sure they would be covered. After having read a few reddit post about warranty issues I was worried I was out of luck, so I dug through the warranty info in the manual and online. (See pics)
Warranty clearly states Paint coverage (New Vehicle items on the summary chart) is transferable and is covered for 3 years/36,000 miles.
The first person I talked to was in the service department and met me as I came in the door. I told her, my clearcoat was separating, and she asked if I was the first owner. When I said no, she said, "We usually don't cover the small stuff like that, for second owners, but you could talk to the sales guys to find out for sure."
I went to the sales guys and they said, they had no idea and that I should talk with the service manager. He was gone, so I called him the next day (after I found the warranty info). I explained the situation and he said, "Yeah, you still get that coverage. Bring it in, we'll take pictures and send them to Genesis to evaluate."
The day I got in, I was greeted by another service rep and explained to her the situation (which was on her notes from the appointment paperwork). Then she said, "Are you the first owner?", of course I said "No" and she said, "This is only covered for first owners". I responded, that I had already talked with the service manager and it IS covered for any owners for 3 years. She quickly followed with, "Well, we'll take pictures and send them in for Genesis to approve, and we'll let you know". I also mentioned, that I'd like the trim looked at, as it was looking hazy on the rear passenger side (oddly different from the other pieces).
When I got the call to pickup the car, the assistant service manager told me that Genesis was sending them 2 new front wheels (regardless of my curb rash - see pics). Also, said they would have to try and polish the trim, when I brought it back for the wheels. If the polishing doesn't work, they would order the trim and replace it. All at no cost to me.
So I got everything I wanted (or will get what I wanted). Just need to know who to talk to.
Also getting the engine fire recall work done in a few weeks, when they get those parts in. I asked if they had the tool to do that work without pulling the engine and they said they did. She (the assistant manager) also said she would schedule it when the better of their 2 Genesis techs was working.
I hope that helps you guys get what you deserve for your Genesis. Don't let the front desk make new rules. :)
Note: I live in Washington State. The manager did ask if it was purchased out of state and he looked it up and was able to tell where it had originally and recently been sold. Apparently in states that use salt or other harsh chemicals, they don't cover the wheels or maybe they are more stingy with coverage? Good luck!
Note 2: The worst curb rash was caused by me, the day after I made my appointment to get the wheels looked at. So, Genesis approved the replacement even with the curb rash. ( I am so paranoid of door dings, I have gotten too close on the right side and bit the curb.) Apparently the 1st owner did the same thing and then covered it up with touch up paint, but Genesis didn't care about any of that. I will be much more careful with the new wheels.

Hi All
I recently bought a 2020 1.5 TSI 150hp DSG Golf, one owner with 18k miles on the clock.
For context, I came from a 2016 Skoda Octavia 1.4 TSI DSG. This car was extremely smooth, not once did I ever feel the gears change. They changed instantly and smoothly, even in stop start traffic.
This was also the case on my new Golf for the first few times I drove it. I've also not had any issues on hot days. However, in traffic I am noticing it is (on most changes) extremely jerky changing from 1st to 2nd. It is more noticeable the less it is revving. There is a delay when changing gear, so it feels like the throttle gets cut off and comes back on again when the gears change. There is a lurching feeling, a bit like when someone is using a clutch badly. I'm also feeling every gear change with a small lurching sensation, again like someone lifting the clutch up too slowly or slipping the clutch in a manual. There is a delay when the gear changes and engages the next one, producing a jolt and briefly cutting the throttle. The change from 4th to 5th produces a noticeable bumping sensation. It's perfectly smooth in manual mode. The car is really bothering me driving in traffic because it's so jerky and lurching slightly each time it shifts up. Again, my Skoda would ride through the gears with a continuous surge of power. I've tried all the different ways people suggest "dsg resets" but that's not making a difference.
It's just been purchased from a main dealer so I am going to get them to look at it, though I'm concerned I will be told "it's normal". However, it's nothing like how my Skoda was and it's really bothering me how much less smooth it is under most driving conditions.

So I got my free month of FSD and I have some stuff to say about it.
I'm an upper-middle-class, middle aged dude with a 5 year old model 3 that I love, but at this point in my life I detest driving. I live in a place that has some nasty traffic and a 20 mile drive routinely takes me 75-90 minutes. I should be the easiest person on the planet to sell this to. I didn't go into it with much of an expectation, and I didn't even know it was happening until about a week into the trial period.
I took it for a couple of residential neighborhood jaunts, a couple commutes, and even a longer road trip. (150 miles) I kept it on "chill" for almost all of it. Here's my observations.

• The system is pretty darned impressive. It's not what I would call a "great" driver, but it's an "ok" driver. Kinda like a teenager that just got their license and is still learning the finer points of control. It's got a bit of a heavy foot, but not awful.
• The system can handle 95% of the situations that it found itself in flawlessly.
• The visualization is much-improved, and you get a much better sense of what the car can see.
• It didn't like the sticker that I have over the cabin camera. I took it off for the trial.
• In heavy traffic (my life) it's decent enough, but it REALLY loves to change lanes...like...all the time. Can't be in the left lane because that's the passing lane and it can't be in the right because that's moving too slow (all the lanes are) and so it always gravitates to the center, but then is constantly trying to change. It waits WAY too long to change lanes to take an exit, especially for left exits.
• It's also got a very serious visibility problem. I suppose it's the B-pillar cameras that look to the sides, but I have a turn near me that is super-fucking dangerous because the visibility is shit and assholes routinely drive 60 in a 35 around a blind corner. To do it manually I have to move WAY close up to the cross-road to see anything, but the Tesla kept me back at the stop sign where it couldn't see a damned thing. It really needs that side camera to be right up near the front bumper.
• Likewise a serious problem is entering a fast road with no merge area, and there's a number of them around here. It was perpetually trying to accelerate to merge, completely ignorant of the cars already on the road going much faster, I suspect because it couldn't see them. This felt dangerous as hell.
• The most important observation that I have is that you have to keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road. For me, that means it's saving me...a little bit of lateral movement of my wrist, and that's it. I got it, this is developmental and it's supposed to get hands free "some day" but at the moment this doesn't really solve a problem for me. It was offered as an option for my car when I bought it 5 years ago...and it's still not there.
• When I finished I asked myself the question "should I pay for this?" At the moment, it's a no. I think it's $2000 to upgrade, or $99/mo, and that's an absurd price for the limited value that it provides.

2023 XLT ER, ,1002 miles. Absolutely love it so far.
I have read here about some other owners having low coolant very soon after purchasing, about a month. So I thought I'd check mine and sure enough it was well below the low level mark. So I checked the manual and ordered some coolant. Tonight, when it was cool, I tried to top up the coolant reservoir. I used a well cleaned washer fluid bottle with the bottom cut off as a funnel. I was very careful not to spill any but as I carefully poured I heard a splatter on my garage floor. Twice this happened as I got closer to the max mark. I double and triple checked the top of the reservoir to make sure I didn't spill. I didn't. Looking under the wheel well, there's a puddle of coolant....
What gives? Is there an overflow or should I call Ford?

So I have a 2015 Iron 883. The previous owner put it in a garage at 55 miles and never touched it again. I've been trying to get it back up to good condition; de-rusted tank, new fuel pump, tires, fluid changes, new brakes, new battery, etc. I haven't had too much issue with it but around July 2023 got a P0107 and P0374 codes. I've put over 2000 miles on it and did the 500 mile break in, 1000 mile service, replaced the MAP sensor, spark plugs and spark plug wires, CKP sensor, HO2S. Harley tech told me in the maintenance history the original owner allegedly brought the bike back to the dealership for the same rideability issue (which is probably why he locked it up at 55 miles) so they diagnosed a defective ECM from the manufacturer, got approval for a good will repair and replaced it for free. Every time they have the bike they do the maintenance, test ride it for 10-20 miles and the codes stay gone. I have it back for a couple weeks and they pop up again and bike starts having rideability issues. They said they don't know what's wrong with it but I'm not paying them another $200-$300 for more troubleshooting if they can't figure out how to fix it. I probed the whole circuit for the CKP and MAP sensors for continuity on all the wires and they show proper voltage when tested with the battery. Both of the sensors seem to work fine and they're new so I don't see the sensors themselves being the issues. Not sure what else could cause both of those codes repeatedly together. I've been scrounging through the service manual as well but there's a lot to sift through. I've also taken it to 3 other mechanics before who diagnosed it ECM before the good will repair so they don't know what else could be the issue either. I grew up on dirt bikes but this is my first real street motorcycle so I'm by no means a Harley tech but any help would be appreciated. I also get this could be hard to diagnose through a sub reddit but if there's anything else that would help, just leave a comment and I could give more info.
TL;DR
Rideability issues - Bike randomly loses power and bogs down for 2-5 seconds at a time, throttle no longer controls anything. DOES NOT lose electrical power, only mechanical power. Does better with this issue at low speeds but is more frequent above 45mph. On 2 occasions has died completely at low speeds or when idle.
Codes thrown - P0107, P0374
Parts replaced - ECM, MAP sensor, CKP Sensor, HO2S, spark plugs & wires, battery
Injectors were inspected, CKP and MAP sensor circuits probed for continuity and voltage. I don't think the bike would bog down and throw both codes if it was just the TPS but I don't know.

It’s estimated the deals cost him 7 Billion dollars. I wonder who advised him.

John C. Malone started Liberty media and he’s been dubbed “Darth Vader” in business dealings, allegedly by Al Gore. Makes that Dumb Storm Troopers line hit differently from RC. Malone and Ted Turner are really good friends with similar ideals. Malone has said “I would never step on his toes” for the sake of business. Both have a contentious relationship with media mogul Rupert Murdoch, founder of News Corp. Ted and Rupert have beef from a boating incident and of course John has his good friends back. A lot of owners of the 5th gen (2023+) Prius are having problems with tire replacements because the stock size (195/50R19) is susceptible to pothole damage, and the tire size is rare, so replacements are backordered.
I wanted to let everyone know that another compatible size is far more widely available (so backorders aren't a problem), less prone to pothole damage, offers improved fuel economy, acceleration, and braking and also more affordable: 205/65R16.

So in the 16" size, 4 tires AND wheels are cheaper than 4 tires alone in the 19" size. And that's not counting the time saved (because 19" tires are backordered), plus the improved ride quality, acceleration, braking, and fuel economy.
In conclusion, if you're troubled by your Prius's 19" tires, consider replacing them with 16" tires and wheels.
Even if you don't want to replace your 19" tires, because just one of them was damaged by a pothole, you have to replace them all eventually anyway, since the tread will wear out someday. When that day comes, it will be cheaper to just buy 4 new 16" wheels and matching 16" tires. So sooner or later, a 16" replacement will be beneficial for almost everyone. Not only will you save money, but you will save time and aggravation (reduced pothole damage), and improve your fuel economy, ride quality, acceleration, and braking.
