MINNESOTA NUMEROLOGY DECODE

Today I will be decoding the state of Minnesota. I recently did one for Massachusetts if you would like to check that out. I will begin decoding the letters in the state letter by letter and then point of conclusive insights afterwards.
M - This is the 13th letter of the alphabet which will point to the energies of 4 which represents caution, privacy, withholding, responsibility, order, restriction, and family. A place with this letter as the first letter will likely have things in order or order will be of significance.
I - This is the 9th letter of the alphabet which brings the energy of adventure, learning, wisdom, experience, and expansion.
N - Being the 14th letter, N vibrates at the energy of 5 which is the use of responsibility being used for creative purposes. This can take place in many forms, especially when it comes to a state and not a person.
N - Being the 14th letter, N vibrates at the energy of 5 which is the use of responsibility being used for creative purposes. 5 is the number of war and combat as well.
E - 5th letter of the alphabet which points to love, joy, romance, child-like energy, and creativity. 5 is the number of war and combat as well.
S - 19th letter which vibrates at the energy of 1, but in this case, Minnesota isn't a state looking to be in control or to get too much attention since the 1 energy isn't overbearing. In this case, the 1 represents being self-motivated and capable.
O - 15th letter of the alphabet which vibrates at the energy of 6. 6 is about discipline, hospitality, compassion, etc.
T - 20th letter of the alphabet which vibrates at the energy of 2. 2 is a money number and the number of cooperation, stability, and comfort. 2 is also about compassion as well.
A - 1st letter of the alphabet which is about action, observation, and opportunity.
Based on what we have decoded regarding the letters in Minnesota, we can see that the main repetitive number and energy is 5. 5 shows up 3 times in this state's name which equals 15 and then 6 when added and reduced. This is definitely a state that focuses on discipline, balance, and fairness. Justice or the justice system could be very significant for this state. This is also good for financial purposes because maybe they avoid causing financial problems for their residents. Family and love can also be significant for this state. They may welcome outsiders more easily than Massachusetts(I did a decode for them first). When violence arrises, they most likely take care of it as soon as possible to keep the state at a balanced medium.
We have the energy of 1 only repeating twice which means that this state may be more welcoming and cooperative in general. Could be nice acts of kindness pretty often. They likely create a fair workforce and living arrangements of their residents as much as possible.

Where to Buy Acres of Land for Cheap
Where to Buy Acres of Land for Cheap
When it pertains to acquiring land, stumbling upon a bargain can appear like an insurmountable challenge. Several individuals presume that possessing acres of land is earmarked for the affluent and privileged. Nonetheless, with a tad of investigation and ingenuity, it is viable to discover affordable land in diverse areas. In this piece, we will delve into some of the prime spots to procure acres of land for a reasonable price, and extend advice on translating your aspiration of possessing land into reality. One of the foremost factors to ponder when seeking inexpensive land is the location. The pricing of land can fluctuate significantly contingent on its whereabouts. Remote areas incline to possess lower land prices in contrast to urban regions. Furthermore, areas that are undergoing an economic downturn or lack amenities such as schools and hospitals might boast cheaper land prices. By concentrating your search on these kinds of areas, you can augment your likelihood of discovering affordable land. One avenue for acquiring low-cost land is to scout for properties that are being auctioned off. Auctions can serve as an exceptional method to unearth bargains on land, as sellers frequently harbor the stimulus to vend swiftly and may acquiesce to reduced offers. Websites such as Auction.com and LandWatch.com are outstanding reservoirs for pinpointing land auctions in your preferred vicinity. Bear in mind that purchasing land at auction can be precarious, hence it is crucial to diligently scrutinize the property before tendering a bid.Another approach to secure affordable land is to pinpoint properties being vended by motivated sellers. These sellers might be amenable to haggle on price to expedite a sale. Websites such as Zillow and Craigslist are phenomenal hubs for tracking down properties marketed by motivated sellers. You can also reach out to local real estate agents and notify them of your quest for inexpensive land. They could potentially link you up with sellers who are keen to vend.If you are scouting for low-cost land for investment intentions, mull over purchasing land in areas witnessing expansion or are prophesied to burgeon in the future. Flourishing areas often flaunt lower land prices juxtaposed to established areas, yet harbor the potential for significant appreciation in value. Keep tabs on local reports and economic appraisals to discern areas primed for growth. By procuring land in these localities, you can capitalize on the prospect for appreciation and realize a return.Aside from location, there exist several other facets to weigh when purchasing low-cost land. One pivotal aspect is the zoning ordinances in the locality where the land is situated. Zoning ordinances dictate how the land can be utilized and can wield a notable influence on its value. Before procuring land, ensure to delve into the zoning ordinances in the vicinity to certify that the land can be utilized for your designated aims.Another critical aspect to ponder is the topography of the land. Land that is arduous to reach or possesses steep gradients may be less expensive than land that is level and effortlessly accessible. Nevertheless, these variants of land may also be more challenging to develop or construct on. Prior to procuring land, ensure to visit the property personally and meticulously examine the topography to verify that it fits your requisites. When procuring low-cost land, it is also crucial to envision the future potential of the property. Scout for land that harbors the potential for expansion or can be exploited for recreational aims. Land situated adjacent to bodies of water, national parks, or tourist attractions may possess heightened potential for appreciation in value. By contemplating the future potential of the property, you can make a wise investment that will bear fruit in the long haul. Now that we have investigated some of the prime spots to acquire budget-friendly land and factors to ponder when procuring land, let's delve into some specific localities where you can stumble upon budget-friendly acres of land.1. Midwest United StatesThe Midwest United States is home to some of the most budget-friendly land prices in the country. States such as Kansas, Nebraska, and Iowa harbor vast expanses of countryside land that is up for grabs at economical prices. The flat topography and agrarian character of the Midwest render it a prime locale for those seeking to purchase low-cost land for agricultural or recreational purposes. Furthermore, the Midwest proffers a slower rhythm of life and a robust communal vibe, rendering it an excellent spot to evade the hustle and bustle of urban life.2. West TexasWest Texas is another exceptional locale to pinpoint affordable land. The extensive open expanses and dry climate of West Texas make it an optimal venue for those hunting for land for ranching or outdoor activities. The region proffers a diverse array of land types, from level plains to undulating hills, and is home to ample wildlife and scenic charm. Land prices in West Texas rank among the most modest in the country, rendering it an excellent choice for those in pursuit of acquiring acres of land on a budget.3. Appalachian MountainsThe Appalachian Mountains, spanning from Alabama to Maine, present some of the most economical land prices in the eastern United States. The area is renowned for its awe-inspiring mountain vistas, luxuriant forests, and copious wildlife. Land in the Appalachian Mountains is idyllic for those aiming to erect a mountain retreat or holiday home. Additionally, the region provides an assortment of recreational pursuits such as hiking, fishing, and hunting, rendering it a prime locale for outdoor aficionados.4. International OptionsIf you are receptive to procuring land beyond the United States, there are also myriad international alternatives for discovering budget-friendly land. Nations such as Mexico, Costa Rica, and Belize proffer economical land prices and a reduced cost of living in contrast to the United States. These nations also present balmy climates, breathtaking beaches, and vibrant cultures, rendering them optimal locales for those seeking to purchase land for retirement or vacation purposes. In closure, unearthing low-cost land is feasible with the accurate research and strategy. By concentrating your search on rural areas, acquiring land at auction, and contemplating facets such as location, zoning regulations, and topography, you can stumble upon affordable acres of land that align with your requisites. Whether you are aiming to procure land for investment intentions or to actualize a dream of possessing a piece of property, there exists a plethora of options accessible for acquiring low-cost land. With some patience and tenacity, you can transform your dream of possessing land into a reality.

2023.09.19 14:05 Mboatman07 Selling fish I breed

I am looking into breeding my angel fish pair. Will I need to acquire some sort of dealer license to sell the baby angels? I live in the United States (Nebraska to be specific). I’ve been doing some research, and it’s hard to find a definitive answer. If anyone could help that would be awesome! I also want to ask what would be the best way to sell the angels (FB marketplace?, craigslist?, personal website?). I am new to the breeding scene, so any advice helps!!

if Michael Cera was in the BBBCSSJ universe? who do you think he’d be?
I think his name would be Brian Richards, the young man who Gene adopted Nippy from. Of course, now we know Nippy never existed, but if he did, he’d have to come from somewhere. And if he did, his original owner would be Brian. We would never actually meet or see Brian, but he has a rich back story of being a paperboy growing up in Nebraska. Then, he goes to college to become a paralegal. Brian enjoys fishing, hiking, and most of all, his dog Nippy. But one day, Nippy gets scared by a neighbor mowing their lawn, and bites Brian. Brian, already allergic to dogs, has a choice. Give up Nippy over a Craigslist ad, or continue to live in moderate concern of another bite incident. He spends days agonizing over his decision. He consults the local library, his old boss on his paper route, and even a man that works at the local mall. This man, however, is not Gene. It’s another man, also named Bryan but spelt with a “Y” instead. They laugh about the spellings of their names and that’s when Bryan tells Brian about Craigslist. We never meet Bryan, but he also has a very vibrant and important story of his own

2023.03.30 20:22 girlwithnosepiercing How to find a wedding dress!?

A little background: my fiancé is from Nebraska, and I’m from Colorado. Both of our family’s nearly completely reside in our respective home states, but my fiancé and I currently live in California.
I have no idea how or when to start looking for a dress. We don’t have it in the budget, or any desire, to buy a new dress and own it. I never really envisioned myself owning my dress because I don’t want to spend a lot of money on something I wear once, and I don’t want my daughter I might have to feel pressured to wear something that’s out of style or not her favorite - plus preserving the dress is another cost I would be happy to skip out on.
My dad recommended I look towards consignment stores, Craigslist, and thrift stores. I’m unsure of this option because although I don’t want to buy a dress, I would really like the magical moment of being with my mom and sister and trying on a bunch of gowns that I could choose! Going thrifting for a used dress makes me worried I might feel like I’m settling or just picking a dress because “it will do” since I don’t really have any say in my options, rather than feeling like I’m picking something special out.
I have some ideas of what I generally am looking for in a wedding dress, but otherwise I’d like to think that I’ve tried to keep my mind very open about what the dress I wear will look like. I was thinking I could look into renting a gown, but I don’t really know how to start and where I could rent a gown and also get the experience I’m looking for. I’ve only ever been to one wedding so I have no idea what any of this looks like and what knowledge, if any, I have from movies and TV is true. We are a little over a year away from the wedding.
The wedding is going to be in Nebraska so I think my plan is to currently get a dress in Colorado so my loved ones can be there, it’s cheaper for me to fly there for any kinda of alterations, and my family can just bring the dress to the wedding when they come out for it.
Does anyone have any advice for me, recommendations around the Denver area, or anything that could be helpful? TIA ❤️

2022.06.16 14:32 ScarletCaptain Used Cars and Salvage Titles

This is hopefully not new info to most, but maybe a LifeProTips to others.
I imagine like me many of us are suddenly on the hunt for replacement vehicles. I have seen a lot of ads on Craigslist that state clearly up top "clear" titles. However, if you scroll way down, you may see a statement something like "this vehicle holds an original Nebraska title with a prior salvage brand."
To be clear, this car is straight up NOT a "clean" title. It is also not a "rebuilt" title. It is a SALVAGE title. Nebraska has no other options. Once it's salvaged (for whatever reason), it stays that way, you cannot "clear" that off the title.
I've been noticing too many ads that use funny wording like this to try and make the vehicle seem okay. In fact, I've found at least one used dealer (perhaps on L street) where every single vehicle they list is like this. This also makes it so if you filter your search for only "clean", you will still get these vehicles.
They're likely buying these wholesale at auction where they have flood damage or theft recovery. Problem is, you don't know why they were salvaged, they may look okay, but could have horrific wateelectrical damage, or even a bent frame.
Here's the what the official state DMV says about Salvage Titles.
https://dmv.nebraska.gov/dvtitle/motor-vehicles-salvage-titles
Hope this helps some people.

2022.05.23 00:05 Snrdisregardo This is a scam, right?

Found a used pop up on Craigslist and have been conversing with the seller. Something seems off about this right?
Email I got back from them. Thanks so much for getting back to me, as I have told you in previous email my husband died recently. Right now i'm in a military base (Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska), training and getting ready for leaving the country. My presence won't be necessary because I prearranged the deal with eBay Money Back Guarantee program. The camper is here in the custody of the Military Logistic Department, ready to be delivered to its hopefully future new owner. You`ll get free delivery and it will arrive at your address in 2 to 3 days. You will have 5 days to test and inspect the camper and if it doesn't look like you expect you can return it back on my expense, but I assure you won't be the case. In case you accept the camper you must contact ebay and ask them to release the funds to me.If you are ready to buy it, please reply with your whole name, address and phone # so I can notify eBay that you are selected as my buyer, and they will contact you right away with all the details about the transaction.

2021.10.06 22:55 IAmDavidJacob Landlord agreed to let us find someone to take over our lease and is now coming up with almost hilarious demands for our prospective tenants.

Our landlord stated he would let us try to find someone to take over our lease, to avoid a 3 month + 60 day buyout fee. He even offered to post his original listing on Zillow, before backing out due to cost. No problem, to the Facebook and Craigslist we go. We were starting g to get some solid prospects lined up, when he started trickling in other requirements.
3x rent cost Rent increase 17 month lease No felony or misdemeanor for 5 years.
Note: non of these requirements were placed on us when we rented the place.
Questions:
Am I paranoid thinking he wants us to not be able to find a new tenant?
Can he require a huge lease, instead of just agreeing to a lease takeover?
Can he jump the rent up arbitrarily?
One reason we are trying to move is my autism and my partner's anxiety is exacerbated by roaches, loud noises, and this landlord's a bit too present. He has also been verbally abusive to my partner and abusive in texts about her.
Kind of at a loss for what to do.
Location is Nebraska

2021.07.01 20:21 leoofalexandria Hi. It's Me. Otto.

Hello. My name is Otto. It’s my real name. Not a nickname or shortened from something more proper. I always hate when I read a story, or listen to a story online and the narrator says something like “my friend, .. let’s call him “Steve,” did this, etc etc. If you want to protect his identity, just make a fake name. Don’t call attention to the fact that you’re making a name up for someone that we have never known, and most likely will never know. Just a little gripe to start my story. I’ll get into who I am and why I’m writing this right….. now.
As mentioned before, my name is Otto. Last name doesn’t matter. I live in the Midwest. I’m 40 something, white, have black curly hair, wear big glasses due to poor eyesight, wear the same type of clothing every day (jeans and denim shirt), and I’m a serial killer. Last time I checked the FBI’s definition of a “serial,” killer they state that any individual who’s killed more than 4 people matches that designation. Just to be clear with you all, my total is much more than 4. I am not bragging. I guess the whole reason I’m doing this is to explain my actions to the public, or anyone that wants to know. I’ll most likely post this to some blog site, if that’s still a thing. Maybe even Facebook, but I’ll have to make an account. I have to explain to you why I do this. Mostly because my victims ask. They always ask. “Why? Why, WHY?!” Usually I have no real emotion when killing. But the more I do, the more I feel like these people deserve an answer. How else can I get this information to the masses? Should I do a “Hi, I’m a serial killer AMA,” on Reddit? Actually, when I type that out it looks like a pretty good idea. No one has done it as far as I know. But I’m not looking for that direct attention. Most people think us serial killers are dying to be caught, which may be true in certain cases, but I think we just want the attention without the prison time, or electric chair depending on where you get charged. Especially if you’ve killed a lot, and the Police just can’t put the evidence together. Imagine how bad the Zodiac killer felt. All that work and all those intricate kills. For no fanfare or celebrity. No appreciation for breaking the most sacred of commandments and getting away with it.
I can tell you I wasn’t born like this. I had a decent upbringing. I won’t go too much into it, its not very interesting. I can also tell you that I was always interested in darker things. I loved weapons, I loved scary movies, I loved reading about serial and mass murderers in the school library. I did have some motherly issues, so I suppose that may be one of the only typical issues a male serial killer has. Yes, I did kill my mother like Norman Bates. Spoiler alert, I guess, sorry. We will get into that shortly.
So all childhood and early reminiscing aside, let’s skip to my early college years. This is the real start of my devious ways. I have had absolutely no run ins with Johnny Law. Not so much as a littering ticket. I was in fact going to study criminal justice and law. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do for work exactly, but as I said earlier I had a major interest in killers. Well known killers, not just your run of the mill street gang drug war killers. Those deaths don’t matter. You’re selling whatever drug for whatever money, and another tough guy wants to either rip you off or take your area to sell their whatever drug. And deaths ensue. Makes no sense and there is no emotion behind it. The guys I read about as kids, Dahmer, Gacy, Bundy, Charles Whitman, they had a plan. They killed for a real reason. I wanted to figure those guys out. Before taking a persons life was in my mind I wanted to always try to figure out what a murderers mind set was.
At about 20 I’m in my second year of College. I attended the gem of the Midwest. Central Michigan University. Maybe one of the only schools in the nation on an actual Native American Reservation. The mighty, mighty Chippewas. We loved the culture, and I think the Chippewa tribe loved having us. I was still researching serial killers, and reading books on the subject. The internet had become very accessible also, so that opened up an entire wealth of information. I started reading John Douglas’ book “mindhunter,” and googled anything related to the somewhat new FBI profiler arena. Anyone reading this now should be familiar with the Netflix series, which I also enjoyed. My current major and minor program had a career day going on in the cafeteria of my dorm, which was convenient. There were reps from maybe 15-20 departments. All kinds of Sociology and Psychology workers. I made my way to the Criminal Justice liaison. She rattled off some BS credentials, I really didn’t care. She asked what I wanted to do, and I said what I’ve been passionate for quite a while. I wanted to be in the FBI, and be a profiler at that. Her next sentence, her next four words, would most likely seal my fate. “Oh, that’ll never happen,” she said. I must have looked like I got a flash bang grenade dropped on my face. There could have been 1000 responses I could heard, that one I was not prepared for. I can’t really remember what I did next, I just know I left. I was massively disappointed. I didn’t plan it all at that one time, but I’ll tell you the murder wheels were turning.
I did not kill my first victim until nearly 20 years later. It was really a slow burn for me. I’m not the killing type, or wasn’t.. I didn’t think people deserved to die, like a Dexter archetype. My story changes pretty drastically compared to my contemporaries. To give you an updated context, I graduated with a Sociology degree, which is basically worthless in todays world. I went from job to job, with no real desire. Either I got let go, or I quit. I now work at a major grocery store chain, at the gas station part of it. My life is brutal. But I don’t feel angry. None of my kills are in anger. I want to to get something that I don’t have. That is fulfillment. Fulfillment is so under rated. We all know very well off people that hate their life. We know celebrities and normal people in your everyday life that have whatever they desire, but just aren’t satisfied. Fulfillment is important. I found my fulfillment.
My first kill wasn’t awkward, or painful. At least not to me. After college I moved back to the condo my mom and I grew up in. As mentioned before I went through quite a few odd jobs, always trying to find something I liked. I had one particular job that made me wake up at an ungodly hour of 4am Sunday through Thursday. Before I got this job our little part of the condo had been dealing with a rather awful rat problem. Someone keeps feeding the vermin with peanuts, I’m sure under the guise of feeding birds. Our entire complex had been warned over and over. I saw this guy throwing out a few shells here and there. My mom reported him, he supposedly got a reprimand. But then the second day I woke up for work, at 330 am, I saw him outside in the blackest of nights, throwing peanut shells to the “birds.” This guy wakes up early to throw food out that attracts these plague carrying animals? I just didn’t get it. Something changed inside my head and my soul that early morning. I was going to kill him. For something that petty. We all have to follow the rules pal, and now you’re going to pay the price.
I didn’t do much research on this guy, I knew he lived by himself just by watching his house and car in the parking lot for a few days. No one else ever went into his house but him. To make things better, he didn’t even lock his doors. I simply went into his home. Most people don’t lock their doors I’ve found, especially when they just leave to go shopping for an hour. Take this tip from a killer, just lock your doors. If it’s locked, I’ll move on. After a couple weeks I waited for this rat feeding offender in his laundry room. He loaded what would be his last basket of socks and underwear into his washer before I plunged a claw knife into the side of his neck. He struggled briefly, and then dropped to the floor. I didn’t anticipate all the blood spraying everywhere. Rookie mistake I know. At that moment I knew this was my life. I felt like I finally found a purpose. I was getting fulfilled. I could go to work at my meaningless job, ringing up people for their 20 dollar gas fill ups and reeses pieces. I knew that when I went home I was a ender of lives. Dramatic, but now my new purpose. I would now kill for no reason, or at least reasons that made sense to me. I didn’t want to fit a serial killer purpose. I didn’t know these people, and they didn’t know me. This would be my last kill based on any emotion. I don’t want to be caught, I only wanted to bump my numbers up.
I’d put ads in craigslist for nannies. I’d make fake items to sell, I’d go on to the backpages and ask for lewd sex act requests. The recipients would be unwilling victims. I’d graduate to making a kill room in my basement. I left no DNA evidence behind. That woman that shattered my hopes of being a FBI profiler would fuel my new profession. Little did she know she stoked the flames of one of the most notorious serial killers of the 21st century.
If anyone has gone mysteriously missing, maybe take another look at where they lived. Or what they did. Some people need that fulfillment to keep going. I can’t be traced to some cookie cutter serial cutter blueprint. I’ve killed over a dozen people for really no reason. I have no attachements to these people. I said earlier that I killed my mother. She was actually my step mother. I loved her very much, and she loved me. I axed her to death like I was having tea with the Queen of England. She laid in a tub of lye in our basement for about 3 days until her body completely dissolved. And then I went to work. Fulfilled.
Hi. It’s me, Otto.
It’s your friendly neighborhood serial killer.. Is what I WOULD say if I was a complete cliché machine. Although I did just start with that, so I can’t take it back now. My mini manifesto, my story of fulfilment that I dropped across several sites on the internet was very well received. If you’re new here let me do a short recap:
My name is Otto. I’m a 40 something year old man living an ordinary life working as a gas station/grocery store clerk. And I’m a Serial Killer. I explained in my first writing as to why I do what I do. Looking back at it, it came off as overly simple, but there really isn’t too much more to it. Killing fulfills me in a way that nothing else can. Consider this follow up a chance for me to bring you all up to speed on what I’ve been up to. If this gets enough attention, well this might just be a little series for me. I truly appreciate the fascination that you all have. It’s not always easy to do what I do, this makes it a little more sweet. Actually, at this moment I have one of my random victims in the kill room. I have gotten a bit more dramatic over the last few kills, going so far as to pull of an elaborate heist from the pharmacy at my grocery store. I don’t need to say what drugs I grabbed, you can probably google anything that makes you groggy to comatose and Im sure I have it. Anyway, random victim down there should still be out for another 15 or so minutes. Perfect amount of time for blogging about the last few months of a serial killers life.
It’s been about 3 months since I explained my need to kill, my need for fulfillment. Hopefully some of you have found that amazing satisfaction. I have to reiterate that unlike most well known serial killers, I do not want to be caught. Yes, I do love the attention, but I’m not unintentionally or subconsciously trying to get caught for my horrendous crimes. I have made mistakes, mistakes that could have potentially ruined my life. Without going too much into detail I will tell you that I traveled out of the state I live in for a kill. It was a facebook market post. I still can’t believe the person really thought that anyone would drive more than 100 miles for a little kids outdoor play house. But I suppose that you want to get rid of those big toys as soon as you can, especially with a supposed interested buyer. I don’t have children of course so I have never had to buy or sell any childrens things. Yes, if you’re putting two and two together I killed someone with kids. I told you, I have no steadfast rules except to not fit any patterns. I met the person in the parking lot of some random strip mall where the most popular store was called “going out of business.” When the mark came out of their vehicle I simply plunged a knife right into their belly button. I was a little brazen with this one, I really didn’t think about this all the way through. The point is, I do make mistakes, but surely not intentionally so I can do double or triple life in prison. Panicking, I just got back in my rented vehicle and sped all the way back home.
The local Police of course found the body and a little write up asking for any information was put out in their area, and across the internet. Now normally I don’t leave my victims out in the open. Most of them are reported missing, some have no one to miss them. So remember earlier when I said that I am digging the attention lately? Well, it appears that I have been given a name. I got my own Serial Killer name! They call me.. the Midwest Ghost killer. Kind of lame actually but I’ll take what I can. Apparently some rather smart Detectives linked up around the areas where some of my vics have been reported missing and they think there are some patterns linking one person to the disapperances. They are right of course, but theres no way I have left any kind of pattern. Everything I have done has been random, even haphazard in some ways. The Ghost killer comes I guess from the fact that I.. or the killer.. has been operating like a true ghost. The guy ( or girl) comes in like a spectre, takes human life, and disappears like a murderous Casper. Since they believe there may be 5 or 6 murders linked to one person, the FBI has gotten involved. Looks like I have finally made the big time. It only took me over 20 murders to get here. I bet some John Douglas type special agent is “mindhunting,” me right now. Writing up his own little profile on how I act and when I will strike next.
Good luck to you Mr. FBI Agent man. I’m pulling for you, but you have absolutely no where to start. Let’s dive into the mind of Otto for a quick second. Let me just check on the vic downstairs….
Ok, we’re good. I upped the sedative to give me about 20 more minutes. Probably not good for anyone to be on that high of a dose, but they are going to die either way. Using my kill room is so much better, I will never make the mistake of killing in broad daylight again. Where was I? Oh yes, diving into my brain. I was saying that whatever criminal profiler they have on the job has an impossible task ahead of them. There is no pattern to these killings they believe I am responsible for. And on top of that, I don’t fit any of their typical serial killer traits. As stated before I had a fine childhood, had no real motherly issues, had no desire to kill animals, and have no history of any devious behavior. Pair that with the WAY I have offed people, and they are behind the mighty 8 ball. Listing some of the ways I’ve snuffed out life is more random than the lottery numbers that come out every night.
I’ll get the obvious ones out of the way first. Guns, of course. I’ve found that this just isn’t satisfying to me, and i’m not the gun type anyway. It’s loud too. Even in the basement. Next, knives. Now we are talking. Nothing more intimate than sliding a piece of steel into someones neck, or heart, or.. anywhere really. Using some type of rope to choke out the victim is fine, but it’s more work than you may believe. It’s not like the movies where it looks like after 2 seconds the person passes out. Plus I’m not in great shape, so I can’t risk this one as much. Blunt force I’ve used a time or two, I am a big baseball fan I’ll just put it like that. I’ll spare you the rest and sum it all up: There is no pattern here. The FBI doesn’t have a BTK like model to follow, where every single victim was clearly linked to one killer.
Sorry this post is so short, but I have work to do. My fulfilment has dipped to unacceptable levels. Worry not dear reader, it’ll be fixed in no time. So where do we go from here? Maybe detail the next kill, from inception to completion? Maybe I should really do that “I’m a serial killer AMA,” on reddit. Maybe you can drop a comment down below and give me suggestions. Wherever you come across this, I’ll be dropping these on several blog and social media sites. I’ve gotten a little more savvy about the internet since my first post. It’s kind of fun, I hate to say.
As long as I stick to the plan, don’t go outside of my comfort zone, and clean up my messes, I should be back with you all soon. Does anyone remember the 1989 movie “Point Break?” My favorite law enforcement agency, the FBI, against a group of bank robbing surfers. The bank robbers were successful because they stuck to the plan, grabbed all the cash they could from the registers, and NEVER went to the vault. Well, not to spoil a movie that’s over 30 years old, but Bodhi went to the vault. And of course it was his undoing. That won’t happen to me. I’ve said 100 times in this post alone, I will not develop a pattern. I will stick to the plans in my head and be methodical.
I hope this makes people understand how at least one person in this crazy world can take a life. I feel like the one thing people deserve, beside fulfilment, is an explanation. Maybe I’ll start tonight and explain why I’m doing this to Bill downstairs. His name’s not Bill, I don’t know what it is honestly. But Bill is going to be made aware why he is meeting this awful awful fate. Thank you in advance for giving me purpose. And I’ll see you all in the promised land. Until next time, your favorite killer, Otto.
Hey guys, Alex here again. Found something interesting to share here. I came across a real obscure blog post about a self-proclaimed serial killer named Otto. I’ve tried and tried to find the site I initially saw it on but have had no success. I hope I’m not imagining this. I don’t know, maybe I’ve finally lost it looking into too many dark corners of the internet. I thought it was a troll at first. But the more I read, the more.. real it seemed. We’ve all read and loved traditional scary stories and creepypastas. They mostly have the feel of fiction. This guy describes his journey of murder like he’s reading off the contents of a cereal box. It is systematic and cold. I would like to call on everyone in the truecrime subreddit to scour the internet and try to find this man, Otto. Hopefully it’s just another story, but I’m telling you, if you find this man’s story, please tell me it doesn’t sound like this guy is for real.
Alex closed his laptop, took his glasses off and rubbed his temples. I mean theres no way this was a true story. I’ll check again in a few hours and probably just put this supposed serial killer guy to bed. I should have bookmarked that site I found it on. At the time it didn’t seem like something that was going to stay with me. Just another story about a normal guy that happens to kill people. A dexter, but without the whole moral code part. I’ve been looking for interesting stories about mayhem, ghosts, and evil to share on a handful of communities. Mostly on reddit. True crime has never been hotter right now, with a new special on serial killers on one of the streaming services being put out every day. If this is real, I could have jumped on something that is happening in real time. Reminds me of being a kid during the DC Sniper hysteria. Everyone in the Capital city was terrified, people were walking in zig zags to avoid the next deadly sniper shot. It was a wild, scary time. Am I living during another one right now?
Hey guys, Alex here. I found it! Well, I found another one. A different post from the one I was describing to you all last time. And I saved it, 4chan of all places. I was scrolling their paranormal site and happened on Otto describing how he killed someone while falsely promising them a childs playpen or something. I don’t know how 4chan works really, I don’t think I can link the story here but I’ll try. Please, anyone, tell me this is fake.
“Bing.” Alex reaches for his phone, seeing the little alien symbol that reddit uses pop up. A notification that maybe someone has replied to my post I hope. The reply was exactly what I wanted. Simply, a link to the Toledo Blade, Toledo Ohio’s local newspaper. Headline: Man killed in broad daylight.
My jaw hit the ground. After reading and re-reading this story out of Toledo, the stars aligned. I bet every planet lined up and Zeus himself was visible from the naked eye. “The Medical Examiner stated that the deceased, who was found at approximately 7 o clock on a winter night, was already dead for about five hours.” One of Otto’s posts detailed this event. You ever have one of those world shattering realizations where everything and nothing make sense? I was not crazy, I have been on the hunt for a real world serial killer. Now I need more information. Now I need to catch him. Yes, I am going to find Otto..
Ok, so I was imbibing a little too much when I read that article. Do not fear, true crime community, I am not going to try to catch a serial killer. Not yet. I’ve been scouring every deep dark space I can to try to find anything else from this guy. So far I only know for sure he’s posted to 4chan. If you can all help me you will always be in my debt. I’ve set google alerts for “Otto,” and am constantly refreshing 4chan.
GOLD! It’s Alex again, I found another short post from our friendly neighborhood serial killer. He even linked a short news story from an FBI agent! Apparently the FBI thinks there may be 5 or 6 murders that have been conducted by the same person, Otto, and are asking for help. They don’t know him as Otto, but I think it’s out guy. This is freaking wild! They call him the Midwest ghost killer. I think that’s one of the worst names ever, certainly no Night Stalker or BTK, but at least it gives us a huge revelation. He may indeed be in the Midwest area. Is there anyone from the Midwest that knows of any of these murders that Otto may have done?
Nothing yet. I have a space in my basement that’s empty, I guess I could turn it into a little guest bedroom but just haven’t gotten to it. I probably won’t for a while as it is now my Ghost Killer research room. If you know the meme from It’s always sunny in Philadelphia, with Charlie in front of the yarn board, well, then you get it.
Being a west coast man, I had to research what types of grocery stores are more prevalent in the Midwest. Otto is not shy about being a grocery store/gas station clerk.. For no real reason I just don’t think he works at a national chain like Walmart or Target. When you use terms like “grocery store,” it infers you are speaking of the more local spot. If he worked at Walmart he would probably refer to it more as a supermarket or just a retail store. Just trying to use some logic with this guy. So anyway, that leads us with some notable Midwest grocery stores. Another quick google search came up with dozens of stores. Truthfully I didn’t know the “Midwest,” was so big. I thought the Midwest meant just states like Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and a couple other neighboring states. Turns out The Midwest, as defined by the federal government, comprises the states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
Seems to me that states like Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin would be considered more.. northern? Or Mid-East? But ok, let’s see what the most common grocery store in the Midwest is. I came up with the top 3: Meijer, Spartan, Kroger. Piggly Wiggly is barely holding on, but I can’t bring myself to believe that a serial killer operates out of Piggly Wiggly, and they do not have gas stations attached to them. Also, Ralphs out here is owned by Kroger. Weird.
I’m still stuck on the “grocery store,” term. From what I gathered, speaking to my forum friends in truecrime, Meijer is more of a retail store with produce offered. Spartan stores is more of a discount place. I know Costco also has gas stations, but I don’t think that’s a grocery store either. That leaves Kroger. Kroger is headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, where one of Otto’s only somewhat proven kill happened. Not Cincy, but Toledo, mind you. He also said he traveled across state lines to execute this one. He said he traveled roughly 100 miles from his home. Too far from states like Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, where Kroger doesn’t even exist. I believe now that Otto is from the Great Lakes state.
Two weeks later and I have nothing to do with this information. Three, four weeks later and the quest for Otto has started to fade away, like the morning dew from the grass, or the darkness from dawn. Im trying to be poetic. I guess to give an ending to this story that’s graceful, and not depressing. I tried, friends, I tried.
“Ding.” Youtube notification. User T Krebbs commented on a video I posted weeks ago explaining my search for the Midwest ghost killer. “I think I found your guy on here.” The story was called Fulfillment. I was going to take a F-16 into the rabbit hole.
I read Fulfillment. Completely shocked at what I was seeing. Otto is real. I went back and forth on whether to leave a comment. Risking my username of being tracked, thinking that somehow he could track me by one simple Youtube reply. Sounds stupid I know, but this guy supposedly killed his mother, what would he do to me if he could. I decided to go for it. Replying with a simple: “What’s next for you Otto? I nervously closed my laptop, cautiously putting it on my nightstand and laid awake for the next several hours. Just as my eyes finally brought me to dream land I heard my phone yet again go off.. “Ding,”…..

2021.06.03 07:39 YNL_ 1998 Fleetwood Bounder - good starter RV?

Would love some advice from the seasoned RVers out there!
We are a family of 5 and are looking to make our first RV purchase, which we plan on christening with a cross country trip as we move from Oregon to Pennsylvania later this month.
I’m torn between getting something I can pay outright in cash for or financing something only a few years old. Naturally, I’d prefer the former if I can find the right deal.
I’m going to look at this Bounder tomorrow: https://eugene.craigslist.org/rvs/d/elmira-bounder-mh-price-reduced/7329552583.html
From what I’ve read, Bounders are decent machines, and this one appears to have been well maintained and recently cared for.
My biggest question is - can I load up the family and drive across the country in this with very minimal RV knowledge? Or am I going to find myself stranded in Nebraska wishing I’d just financed the 2018 Winnebago?
Any particular things I should look for when I take this one out for a test spin?

2021.04.04 19:39 disqeau Victorian (?) rocking chair, embroidered velvet seat

Hello friends, looking for any advice or information on this rocking chair. It belonged to my paternal grandmother who lived in the Nebraska panhandle (1893-1976). It doesn’t have any labels or markings on it that I can see. I’d like to know if it’s of any real value before I post it on Craigslist or something. TIA!

2021.02.04 14:31 _basic_jake Bedroom rental needed ASAP

I am looking for a private bedroom to rent. Preferably anywhere between concord and uptown. Originally from Nebraska I have no friends of family to lean on here in North Carolina. I am 25 y/o male. A full time student. And a full time mechanic. No pets. Non-smoker. No drugs.
The more you have to offer (I.e. private bathroom, garage use) the more i would be willing to pay. I am comfortable with background checks if you require it.
I have lived in Charlotte since August of 2019. I have been gainfully employed and in school the entire time.
I have tried roommates.com, roomster, and Facebook marketplace. Last time I used Craigslist the guy tried to charge me $600/m for a room built over his covered patio with a sloped floor and no insulation and no access to the main house. So craigslist isn't a go to for me for housing.
Feel free to PM me or give me some advice in the comments. Thank you.

2020.12.14 23:46 Bhelbibutton I paid 1200$ for a non existent cat

I think the title speaks for itself, I've never felt more stupid. I saw an ad on craigslist for a kitten that was a long haired persian. I emailed the guy asking for the rehoming fee and more pictures/details about the kittens. We emailed back and forth and he said he'd have to ship the kitten to me as he had just moved to Virginia or that I could pick him up which he knew I wouldn't do giving I live in Nebraska. I used Google pay to send him 350$ for the kitten. I then got an email from a "pet shipping agency" that had a believable website and was told the kitten would arrive Saturday afternoon. Then I got another email the next morning saying I needed to rent a thermal crate because of the snow and high winds. I called the number and it was a guy with an Indian accent who told me I would have to pay 80$ a night until it was warm enough to ship the kitten or that I could put down a deposit of 864$ that he claimed multiple times I would get paid back in full. I was told to send the money over google pay so I did and then hours later I got another email saying the kitten now needs life insurance which would cost 1200$ min. That's when I knew I was scammed and now I'm just wondering if there's anything I can do to get my money back because I'm honestly devastated and just a sad broke college student who recently lost two pets and wanted a new friend. I contacted my bank and got a new card but given it's google pay I'm not sure if there's much they can do. Don't fall for this type of scam animal lovers.

2020.08.25 03:27 d0obz Process to purchasing a used RV

Hi! I’ll be buying an RV used from an owner who has their RV registered in Nebraska. I’ll be purchasing it cash from Craigslist and I currently live in California. They say they’re paying $10 per month right now for insurance. I’ve never purchased a car before so I was wondering what I need to do to secure the transaction, transfer the title, and get the RV insured. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!!!
Update - Unfortunately, it ended up selling to someone else with a higher bid. I’ve learned a lot about the process so I’ll definitely be way more aware next time! Appreciate everyone’s help!

2020.06.11 19:42 realdealcreal Need help apartment hunting from afar

Hello! I’ll be moving to Milwaukee from Nebraska this summer (probably late July or early August) for graduate school at UWM. Apartment hunting is tough enough as it is with covid restrictions, but I’m also totally unfamiliar with a lot of the city and am having trouble finding the right apartment. I’d like a 1BR place near campus or in a lively neighborhood, or both. Are there any property management companies I should check out? I’ve been primarily using craigslist/zillow/trulia but I’ve heard a lot of properties aren’t even listed on those. Any tips? Thanks in advance :)

2020.04.28 17:41 gumis456 Is that a car scam?

I'm interested in buying a car from a craigslist but it looks too good.
https://hudsonvalley.craigslist.org/cto/d/newburgh-2000-jeep-cherokee-sport-xj-4x4/7101183952.html
and here are the messages from the owner: My name is Susan, happy to see you are interested in my 2000 Jeep Cherokee XJ SPORT 4WD. Let me give you a few details about it. Really good shape, never had any problems with it, no scratches or dents, 115,000 Miles, Automatic,4.0L I6 engine, the title is clear under my name. The price was reduced at $900. I’m selling it so low due the fact that my Medical team will deploy back overseas on May 15th for a 18 months contract and it's not worth keeping insurance and paying storage fees for it so there's no use on keeping it, therefore I need a fast and reliable buyer. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask. PS: You can found more pictures attached. Sincerely, Senior Medic Sgt Susan Roberts

when I ask her for a phone number she wrote:

Hi again, I will do my best to walk you through the process. As I told you in my first email, my team will deploy back overseas. Right now I'm in a military base (Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska). We are in the final stage of our training and I am only allowed to check my email so we have to stick to email for now. The vehicle is here with me at the base and the delivery process will be managed by me, ready to be delivered to its future new owner. The deal is handled by eBay so I don't have much to do about it. I think I can have it there at your home address in 2-3 days. In addition, you get 5 days to try it out before buying it, and if you don't like it, you can send it back at my expense. For more info on how it works, I can ask eBay to send you an email with more details on how to buy it but please send me the info only if you are really interested so do not have to waste our time. They will contact you shortly, as soon as they have your personal details. If you would like to receive the email from eBay Motors with transaction information, please reply with your full name, address for delivery and phone # and they will contact you right away.
DO you thing it is a scam?

2020.03.16 15:14 SocialistHiker Joshua Collins here. I'm demanding the suspend the collection of all rent residential mortgage payments for at least 2 full months while the COVID-19 crisis is going on. & I need your help!

So, as many of you probably know, I'm a 26 y/o Socialist truck driver running for Congress in Washington State. I'm also autistic, & really good with understanding patterns & strategizing around them. I've used that to build a massive social media reach to raise $200k in small donations & recruit thousands of volunteers. Being in Washington State, our campaign is basically having to move completely online. Which is amazing because we're a thousand times better than all our opponents are at online campaigning.
So let's get to the reason I'm here. The petitions.
Our primary demand is simple: for Governors to lead the effort to suspend the collection of rent & residential mortgage payments for at least 2 months. Utilities too. I believe that if we are not working & being paid, our landlords & mortgage companies should sure as shit not be still getting paid. (They shouldn't exist, but I digress)
We first made a petition for Washington State, & it got 25k signatures from WA residents in the first day. If it hits 200k, it will actually warrant action from the governor, because if there is none, our actions & demands become significantly more radical. And we now have a ton of people's contact info to actually organize those efforts. We'll let our Governor & other relevant Gov figures know that & they will act accordingly. We will likely be using all this contact info for further organizing even if our demands are met. It's fucking hard to get anyone to fill out any sort of form, but we have succeeded at doing so by having the right demands & a big enough online reach to get the petition in enough hands that it spread organically. (Without spending any money on ads for the record)
So because it was so successful with our state, we created petitions for every US state & territory. And we just need help sharing them to people in the states we created them for. Post them on Facebook & Twitter, as well as any local/state subreddits, forums, Facebook groups, Craigslist, & literally anywhere else you can think of. Text them & dm them to all your friends & family in your state. And just know that we will be using the data responsibly, primarily to support tenants organizing efforts & maybe mutual aid if we can help coordinate that. I will lose my campaign if I go & hand people's contact info off to some shitlib or some shitlib organization, so I have an interest in not doing so. To whatever degree you can trust anyone with your info, I won't be violating that trust.

There's a chance it might be used to remove encryption so it is very important this doesn't happen but if course it's being proposed as a way to save children from child open and trafficking which is great but still watch out the article below is from theverge
A sneaky attempt to end encryption is worming its way through Congress
The EARN IT Act could give law enforcement officials the backdoor they have long wanted — unless tech companies come together to stop it
By Casey Newton on March 12, 2020 6:00
A thing about writing a newsletter about technology and democracy during a global pandemic is that technology and democracy are no longer really at the forefront of everyone’s attention. The relationship between big platforms and the nations they operate in remains vitally important for all sorts of reasons, and I’ve argued that the platforms have been unusually proactive in their efforts to promote high-quality information sources. Still, these moves are a sideshow compared to the questions we’re all now asking. How many people will get COVID-19? How many people will die? Will our healthcare system be overwhelmed? How long will it take our economy to recover?
We won’t know the answers for weeks, but I’m starting to fear the worst. On Wednesday the World Health Organization declared that COVID-19 had officially become a pandemic. A former director for the Centers for Disease Control now says that in the worst case scenario, more than 1 million Americans could die.
This piece by Tomas Pueyo argues persuasively that the United States is currently seeing exponential growth in the number of people contracting the disease, and that hospitals are likely to be overwhelmed. Pueyo’s back ground is in growth marketing, not in epidemiology. But by now we have seen enough outbreaks in enough countries to have a rough idea of how the disease spreads, and to understand the value of “social distancing” — that is, staying behind closed doors. So I want to recommend that everyone here reads that piece, and consider modifying your behavior if you’re still planning events or spending a lot of time in public.
One risk of having the world pay attention to a single, all-consuming story is that less important but still urgent stories are missed along the way. One such unfolding story in our domain is the (deep breath) Eliminating Abusive and Rampant Neglect of Interactive Technologies (“EARN IT”) Act, which was the subject of a Senate hearing on Wednesday. Here’s Alfred Ng with an explainer in CNET:
The EARN IT Act was introduced by Sen. Lindsey Graham (Republican of South Carolina) and Sen. Richard Blumenthal (Democrat of Connecticut), along with Sen. Josh Hawley (Republican of Missouri) and Sen. Dianne Feinstein (Democrat of California) on March 5.
The premise of the bill is that technology companies have to earn Section 230 protections rather than being granted immunity by default, as the Communications Decency Act has provided for over two decades.
For starters, it’s not clear that companies have to “earn” what are already protections provided under the First Amendment: to publish, and to allow their users to publish, with very few legal restrictions. But if the EARN IT Act were passed, tech companies could be held liable if their users posted illegal content. This would represent a significant and potentially devastating amendment to Section 230, a much-misunderstood lawthat many consider a pillar of the internet and the businesses that operate on top of it.
When internet companies become liable for what their users post, those companies aggressively moderate speech. This was the chief outcome of FOSTA-SESTA, the last bill Congress passed to amend Section 230. It was putatively written to eliminate sex trafficking, and was passed into law after Facebook endorsed it. I wrote about the aftermath in October:
[The law] threatens any website owner with up to 10 years in prison for hosting even one instance of prostitution-related content. As a result, sites like Craigslist removed their entire online personals sections. Sex workers who had previously been working as their own bosses were driven back onto the streets, often forced to work for pimps. Prostitution-related crime in San Francisco alone — including violence against workers — more than tripled.
Meanwhile, evidence that the law reduced sex trafficking is suspiciously hard to come by. And there is little reason to believe that the EARN IT Act will be a greater boon to public life.
Yet, for the reasons Issie Lapowsky lays out today in a good piece in Protocol, it may pass anyway. Once again Congress has lined up some sympathetic witnesses who paint a picture that, because of their misfortune, whole swathes of the internet should be eliminated. It would do that by setting up a byzantine checklist structure that would handcuff companies to a difficult-to-modify set of procedures. One item on that checklist could be eliminating end-to-end encryption in messaging apps, depriving the world of a secure communications tool at a time when authoritarian governments are surging around the world. Here’s Lapowsky:
The EARN IT Act would establish the National Commission on Online Child Sexual Exploitation Prevention, a 19-member commission, tasked with creating a set of best practices for online companies to abide by with regard to stopping child sexual abuse material. Those best practices would have to be approved by 14 members of the committee and submitted to the attorney general, the secretary of homeland security, and the chairman of the Federal Trade Commission for final approval. That list would then need to be enacted by Congress. Companies would have to certify that they’re following those best practices in order to retain their Section 230 immunity. Like FOSTA/SESTA before it, losing that immunity would be a significant blow to companies with millions, or billions, of users posting content every day.
The question now is whether the industry can convince lawmakers that the costs of the law outweigh the benefits. It’s a debate that will test what tech companies have learned from the FOSTA/SESTA battle — and how much clout they even have left on Capitol Hill.
The bill’s backers have not said definitively that they will demand a backdoor for law enforcement (and whoever else can find it) as part of the EARN IT Act. (In fact, Blumenthal denies it.) But nor have they written the bill to say they won’t. And Graham, one of the bill’s cosponsors, left little doubt on where he stands:
“Facebook is talking about end-to-end encryption which means they go blind,” Sen Graham said, later adding, “We’re not going to go blind and let this abuse go forward in the name of any other freedom.”
Notably, Match Group — the company behind Tinder, OKCupid, and many of the most popular dating apps in the United States — has come out in support of the bill. (That’s easy for Match: none of the apps it makes offer encrypted communications.) The platforms are starting to speak up against it, though — see this thread from WhatsApp chief Will Cathcart.
In the meantime, Graham raises the prospect that the federal government will get what it has long wanted — greatly expanded power to surveil our communications — by burying it in a complex piece of legislation that is nominally about reducing the spread of child abuse imagery. It’s a cynical move, and if the similar tactics employed in the FOSTA-SESTA debate were any indication, it might well be an effective one.

Governing
⭐Maryland, Nebraska, and New York have all proposed taxes that would force tech companies to hand over a portion of the revenue generated from digital advertising. The proposals mirror taxes countries like France have also considered. Ashley Gold at The Information has the story:
The proposals vary in approach and scope, but they all center around the idea that big internet companies, having built their fortunes in part through the use of consumers’ personal information, should be contributing more to government coffers. The bills, which face mixed prospects for adoption, have drawn the ire of tech companies and other business groups, who say it could be challenging to determine precisely how much of their ad revenue comes from each state. In addition, tax experts said, the proposals could run afoul of federal law.
But lawmakers and other advocates believe the proposals might find favor with voters concerned about the power wielded by Silicon Valley and large corporations in general.
Also: The UK government confirmed that it will levy a 2 percent tax on “the revenues of search engines, social media services and online marketplaces which derive value from U.K. users” starting on April 1st. Content related to far-right candidates in Poland makes up a greater percentage of general Facebook content than of content on mainstream outlets’ Facebook pages, according to researchers at Stanford. Evidence suggests this might be because far-right pages are especially good at boosting engagement on Facebook by posting content simultaneously across their networks. (Daniel Bush, Anna Gielewska, Maciej Kurzynski / Cyber Policy Center)
Industry
⭐TikTok is launching a “Transparency Center” in Los Angeles to give outside experts more insight into how the company makes content moderation decisions. It’s one of many moves the company has made in recent months to quell the concerns of US regulators and lawmakers. This one’s interesting. Reuters explains:

2020.03.12 08:31 piecekeeper132 Getting back into riding. Need advice, please.

I'm looking to get back into riding after a 7+ year hiatus (previously owned a 2001 Honda CBR F4i) and I am so excited. I know from experience that I am not in the right mind to make responsible decisions on my own due to the aforementioned break, so I'm here to get advice on my next purchase and hopefully not just jump headfirst into the first thing that strikes my eye.
My riding would consist of 15-30 minute commutes in the city regularly and some more spirited riding on the highways and interstate (logged 16,000 miles in 15 months on my last motorcycle). I enjoy riding a lot so I expect some 2-4 hour trips sporadically, so I am looking potentially for a sport touring or sports bike. I like the aesthetic and enjoy making them practical with saddlebags (it's fun to see the sideways looks in traffic :)).
I am looking to spend under $3500, including registration. I am in Nebraska and all bikes are within a day's drive (or an hour flight, maybe). I have three used bikes that I am looking at purchasing, each with its own pros and cons that I am not going to categorize but simply list. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

2004 Honda VFR 800 ABS

2005 Suzuki SV1000S

2005 Triumph Sprint ST

Full disclosure, I am a Honda guy after having been through a lot on my CBR and I believe them to be some of the most solid motorcycles made, so the higher mileage with proper records wouldn't be an issue to me. The Sprint ST, however, is one of my bucket list bikes. I love the inline three, the design overall, and love that it comes geared toward touring just like the VFR. The downside would be the maintenance costs associated with owning a Triumph. I am handy (have rebuilt a Subaru boxer engine that is running strong over 10,000 miles later) but I know the Sprint may be too much for me to handle if it gets overwhelming. Finally is the SV. The price and mileage are just too good, which scares me. I like the look of it and the torque it boasts. It is also easily the cleanest of them all.
Honestly, I am leaning toward the SV because of the low number of owners, the low mileage, and the low price.
Regardless of which I choose, I would pay a mechanic to inspect before I would go there to make a purchase. I would love to ride my newly purchased bike back with me, but that would depend on what the inspection would turn up.
Thanks in advance for the feedback. :)

2020.03.11 04:47 spicykxz Potential roommate with service dog in training

I’m in the process of exploring my options for a high-rise condo I’ve just purchased (Nebraska) for the purpose of a primary residence. The condo is 2 bed 2 bath and it is my only real property.
I’ve reached out for formal legal advice regarding the potential for renting out the second room through an online vacation rental platform. However, while the attorney I’ve retained for the matter is still examining my HOA’s rules regarding this, I’ve also begun exploring just renting out the second room to a single renter under a long-term lease (9+ months). So, I posted about the room on Craigslist and Facebook. The post mentioned no pets (important to me since the condo has wood floors).
One particular individual reached out to me and expressed interest. However, this individual has a service-dog-in-training (as stated by the individual) and it is apparently a rather large one (130lbs). I have no issues with allowing an in-training service dog into my condo assuming it is trained enough to the point where it is well-behaved like a service dog; however, the condo association has a PET weight limit of 25lbs.
From my research, ADA does not cover in-training service animals/dogs (unless accompanied by a bona fide trainer, which this person is not or at least has not mentioned being one). FHA appears to extend protection to in-training service animals with few exceptions.
So, Reddit community, I need some help/guidance/additional reference material for determining if I am required to allow this potential renteroommate to have an in-training service dog.
Where my concerns lie:
Now, onto my thoughts regarding the “few exceptions” I mentioned earlier. I am hoping since I am residing in the condo and that my ownership of real property is limited to just this one condo unit, FHA regulations do not apply in this case. Also, I have not utilized the services of a broker for listing the room rental.
And before anyone decides to jump in and say I’m a horrible person, I’m all for reasonable accommodations—I myself have an artificial joint. In fact, I hadn’t questioned this person’s “rights” until the story started changing. They first said it was a service dog but then changed their statement and said it was a service dog in-training.
Furthermore, I did mention I would require at time of move-in a security deposit equal to one month’s rent, pro-rated rent for the month, and all other monthly rents due on the first. They mentioned they were changing jobs and moving interstate and would be able to furnish me with a job offer letter from their future employer but unable to pay the whole sum upfront—they would be able to do so in a couple of weeks after receiving their first paycheck from their new employer.
Thanks in advance for your assistance, guidance, and general thoughts!

2019.04.21 03:59 nandrews283 Stolen Bike

Location: Nebraska
Last October (2018) I got my bike stolen from the bike rack on our university campus. As soon as I noticed I reported it to the police and they created a police report. Unfortunately I did not have the serial number at the time but I did give them the make, model, color, unique details, etc. After 2 weeks they closed the open investigation and said they would reopen it if new details came to light.
In January (2019) I was just browsing craigslist and I noticed a bike that seemed to be mine at a local bike shop. I took a trip there and test rode the bike and it felt like mine. I told the police about this and they said they would have an officer go to the bike shop and get some details, however, unless I had a serial number or proof of ownership I would be unable to claim the bike. I did some digging and went back to the place I bought the bike and they were able to give me proof of purchase with a serial number. I immediately sent this to the police officer via email and I got the response that the serial numbers matched up. I scheduled a time to go to the bike shop with the officer. Once I got there we confirmed that the serial numbers matched and the police told me that I had to pay the bike shop and then go through the courts for restitution when they found the thief. The asking price was $300, but the bike shop only charged me $150 (100 for what they bought it for, and then 50 in parts they put into it). I went ahead and paid and went on my way.
They still have not found the guy as they have no lead into anyone who did it. I was talking with my parents about this and they said that I should not have paid for my bike. They said once I had proof of ownership I should have been able to go reclaim my bike since it was rightfully mine in the first place. They said that the bike shop should have taken the loss, not me, and that the bike shop is now committing criminal activity by knowingly selling stolen property. What should I do in this case? Is there anything I can do to get my $150 back?
