i dont know if i'm using ClassVar right - Pycharm is flagging any time i access them.
i'm using them with Pydantic and SqlModel, so that i can define attributes - eg here a routing prefix - that is class-wide, but has no business being in my database.

i can even middle-click or ctrl-b and pycharm will navigate me to the route_url attr of the Episode class, so clearly it knows the class has the attribute.
am using ClassVar wrong somehow, or is this (another) false postive rabbit hole i'm pissing time into for no reason?

Hello ISB,
As the title suggests, this is purely my subjective opinion on the role of finfluencers, the cult following they sometimes garner, and also the criticisms and hate they get.
Since I’m clearly stating this is just my opinion - I’d be really glad if this starts some discussions in the comments and look forward to hearing other perspectives. I’ll not be responding to comments which are purely troll comments, because I feel that's one of the issues on subs like ours.
The gist of my opinion is this - there are definitely hundreds of charlatans and frauds, and on the other side there is no perfect “mentor” or “guru”, but there are some decent ones - we’re just “following” them incorrectly.
The idea behind this came from a couple of posts where some finfluencer tweets or opinions were posted here to the usual rampant hate comments and trolling, and I felt there were very few comments which actually contributed something, or started a conversation.
A last quick note - I, personally, have a strong dislike for this business, because of the number of innocent/gullible people it preys upon. In several posts and comments from my history, you can see that I genuinely NEVER want to share any “gyaan” to anyone when it comes to strategies or stock recommendations because I feel I’ll be going down the “stock market guru” route and I wouldn’t be able to live with that.
So here goes.

1. Let’s get this out of the way - the job of a finfluencer is to pretend like he knows more than he does. The only question is - does he know more than YOU? If he does, then there might be something to be learnt from him.
2. "The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves, that we are underlings." - Shakespeare Here’s the thing - we want to be spoon-fed. Let’s take the example of a very commonly hated finfluencer here in ISB - Akshat S. The standard length of his videos is around 20-25 minutes. How many people do you think actually sit and watch the entire thing? Then how many go and check his sources, and look up some fundamentals of that company? Then look up the industry standards and sectocompetitors? I am very sure, 90%+ of viewers basically forward to the part where the YouTuber gives the answer to “BUY/SELL/HOLD” . That’s it. The YouTubers NOT giving these answers in a clear YES/NO format (because they don’t really know with 100% surity) will rapidly start losing subscribers and viewers.
3. Sensationalising works. Just like politics, nuance is not a tool for those who hope to make any sort of mark. If you have the time or energy - try doing this experiment. Compare 10 videos on youtube where the thumbnail just states levels or some macro economic marker vs 10 videos where the thumbnail says “KAL MARKET CRASH!”. Look up the views. Again, they’re doing their job, because their “job” here is to get views. The semi-respectable ones at least tone down the actual content in the video while the truly sleazy ones will continue the fear mongering even in the video itself.
4. They survive on ambiguous answers because they’re asked the wrong questions. Almost every single viewer cares about either ONE specific stock in which they have obviously messed up their position sizing and over stretched or “KAL market kahan jaayega”. The YouTuber doesn’t have any clue about either of these but they need to say something. They MIGHT have a pretty good idea where the market could go in the next 6 months and what the next resistance or support could be on a monhtly chart. But no one cares about that, because long term investors don’t look up Youtube videos, and certainly not on a daily basis.
5. Even among the knowledgable ones, most of their expertise is in Macro Economics and Fundamentals, both of which are boring. So they need to resort to making videos about Magic Indicators and FIB retracements and Flag and Pole patters. Look up a Finfluencers history of uploads and you can often see the “devolution” of their content from stuff that actually had some value to the usual template that is working for other channels.
6. Sticking to the similarities with politics - they're going to be wrong and they're never going to admit it.

What, in my opinion is the RIGHT way to follow a fininfluencer, and why do I say there IS a right way?
Addressing the second point - I feel there is a right way because I have multiple stocks and even a couple of strategies which I learnt from watching these videos and understanding the CONCEPT behind what they’re saying.
So, how would I suggest someone follows them? Critically.
Question everything, and ASSUME they’re sensationalising and overstating. Take everything with several heaps of salt. However, maybe, just maybe, they are on to something.
As I stated in my very first point - the first requirement is that they should know more than YOU, and some of them DO know more than us, either because of their qualifications, experience or just the amount of time they can give to researching and surveying the market, which others might not.
Whether it is a macro economic concept or a particular stock which might be at an attractive level, they can DRAW YOUR ATTENTION to it. That’s it. Now your work begins.
My other strong suggestion would be - do NOT pay anyone anything hoping for gold mine of knowledge. All of these creators struggle with a conundrum - providing their paid followers with quality while also wanting to give it out freely so that more free followers become paid followers.
Eventually, almost everything that a paid community is getting will trickle down to the free content they are putting out. I have personally spent over 2 Lakh rupees doing courses and memberships and now don’t pay a single rupee to anything of the sort. I also discourage people who ask me from doing so, because I have personally seen that I could have gotten all that knowledge from free resources, just that we don’t value what we get for free.
So that’s my rant, and hope there’s some value in there somewhere. I wanted to stay away from any specific names either in a positive or a negative light, but just discuss the broader topic.

Can I have some outside perspective? I've just started doing from contract/freelance work for a digital agency that does WordPress development. They send me tasks via email.

Can there be code that eliminates discontinued items? Otherwise yes just add this in so the user see’s its discontinued but run off stock as they will see stock level.
BUSINESS is an XYZ member but I am not sure why we would need to pull XYZ info unless that is a standard categorisation for ABC products? Any consumer will not know what this is.
Supplier details BUSINESS needs to know what product it is from which supplier if we receive an enquiry but I assume we don’t want the client to see this.
I really need to see what we are actually going to see and how it is going to work. Can we please test one product only to see how it comes through. I can then agree how its displaying and what info we need. Even if we are not concerned about the design at the moment but more to see what information actually comes through when you possibly add the below.

How long do you think these will take?

Initially I came across go because I wanted to build a small website for myself, and the go + htmx stack seemed to be super popular. Although I didn't end up using htmx, just go + templates, the site is done. For a second project, I thought it would be useful to work on something that aids web development and came up with `gouxchecker`. Right now, it will crawl your site and help you flag:

• if your site has too many fonts
• if there are images with duplicate alt texts, or no alt texts at all
• Possible typos

I plan to add more capabilities in the future, maybe make it a cli? Would this be useful to other people? Project is here, open to reviews or suggestions! Although it started out a practice project, I'm pretty happy it works so far.

I recently returned to GW2 whilst waiting for SoD Phase 4; and it made me appreciate just how important the open world is to an mmo.
For anyone unfamiliar; GW2 has an MSQ but the main way in which you level up is by completing semi-random zone-specific events between the MSQ story beats every 10 levels.
E.g. An event will spawn where Bandits assault a location; and you repel them; and get a huge chunk of EXP.
If the SoD team wanted to revitalise the open world; they should've been developing content in the open world since Phase 1 that follows this event structure to compliment normal open world levelling.
Here's a few examples of events I've cooked up off the top of my head as a proof of concept.
The general flow should be for you to encounter these events semi-randomly and regularly whilst questing so that they provide an incentive to do them; but not so frequent that doing them as a train etc becomes the most efficient way to level up.
Unless otherwise stated; assume the rewards for these quests are level appropriate and award a chunk of EXP even in the fail case (so as to incentivise taking part - but award more EXP on a success case).
(Disclaimer: I mainly play Alliance; so I don't know exactly what the best Horde-equivalents would be for examples).
Generic Events
These are the generic templates for events.

• (PVP/PVE) Caravan Escort Quest: An escort of faction-specific NPCs spawns; they are in the level range of the zone and travel between two settlements. Destroying the Caravan results in a success for the opposite faction players; whilst protecting the caravan until the destination is a success for the same faction players.
  • E.g. Elwynn to Redridge: Caravan spawns in Goldshire; and moves to Lakeshire. Add a few NPC gnoll attacks to add some spice; and award EXP for each "wave" defended against.
• (PVE) Defend the Settlement: A few waves of zone-specific NPCs spawn at a base and gradually move to attack a settlement. If the players successfully defend the settlement against a few waves of NPCs they succeed.
  • E.g. Defias Brotherhood NPCs spawn in Moonbrook and gradually walk to Sentinel Hill; where a battle ensues between the People's Militia and the Defias.
• (PVE) Attack the Base: A group of faction-specific NPCs begin to assault a location. Players can assist them to gain rewards; the fail case is all NPCs die. A boss npc spawns at some point which must be killed.
  • E.g. The People's Militia mount an attack on the Deadmines; they gradually fight their way into the Deadmines where they encounter one of Vancleef's elite as a boss deep in the deadmines.
• (PVP) Delivery to Settlement: A faction-specific NPC buffs a player which allows them to turn in at another location. This PVP flags the player; and a success for the player is to reach their destination - and the success for an attacker is to kill the player.

If you scroll down this page (part 3), you can see I say "the segment that aired on Hazinor, Channel 13 is exactly the same." I searched for where the footage originally aired and found no additional material. 4THOT, mate, the "clip-chimp" is this 30s clip the Jerusalem Post originally posted. When I say "lengthier" clip, I am talking about the 5min segment that you had to "find" despite the fact that I already found it.

I honestly don't remember the last time I saw someone claim that Hamas has never fired rockets against Israel; this would be an astronomically fringe position. If you read the headline of the JP alone, and maybe even the article, you can still come away with the conclusion that Alsalem believes that Hamas has never fired rockets against Israel. I gave evidence of the fact that some people came away with this conclusion in the redacted comment:

I don't believe that to be true; Alsalem has not lived her entire life unaware of the rocket attacks. We need more evidence to establish that then this interview.

Baffling, like I said. "Isn't that interesting?" You're quoted verbatim mate! What do you think is "interesting" here?

I believe that the headline could lead to a misinterpretation. I was later proven to be correct. I provided evidence of that misinterpretation in the direct appeal. And 4THOT refuses to engage with any of it. Again, these edits reply are so silly. Challenges...

This part is going to be an interesting challenge. I would say I’m walking a tightrope here, but that metaphor implies that there’s some slim chance where one can write a section like this and not get banned, um, again (and again?). The original plan was something a bit more comprehensive, where alongside another matter, I would make the case that there have been a number of pro-Palestine users that have correctly addressed misinformation on this sub, where they do a decent job of breaking circlejerks, adding some sordid nuance to threads that otherwise would have devolved into the ones laid out in Part 1 and Part 2. These users will, inevitably, have an “interaction” with 4THOT at some point; they will subsequently be banned on justifications that I obviously believe are nonsensical, where said justifications are also exhibited by 4THOT, whether in that exchange itself or in other threads; and these users are not interested in returning to the sub.
I abandoned this plan for a long litany of reasons; there’s two in particular I’ll highlight here: (1) I don't believe I can achieve the effects I desire; and (2) I'm keen to avoid any accusations of this section being some “hit-piece” or “hate-post.”
I do not intend to present arguments against any other aspect of moderation that I might find to be problematic; I do not intend to make comments on character. I am simply razor-focused on one aspect of moderation here, and one aspect of the unbanning process.

...and Goals

This part will attempt to try and have my other goal — which is shared by many other users in this sub — come into fruition: I believe users should be able to participate in this sub without needing to take into consideration what 4THOT’s personal views are on a matter.
The only things a user should be cognizant of is what are Reddit's site wide rules, including those specific to this sub; what are the subreddit rules; and what are Destiny's desires in terms of what comments and submissions are allowed here. I also believe subreddit rule 6 (rule 5 on new reddit) needs to be amended to remove the arbitrariness.
If a user comes away with a different interpretation of events than 4THOT does, and said user doesn't exhibit any other behaviour in their comment or submission that violates those stated parameters, then that user ought not to be banned.
If 4THOT’s personal opinion is something that we need to be mindful of — and Destiny approves of this notion, agreeing that opinions 4THOT alone finds to be beyond the pale warrants an immediate ban — then, unironically, that stipulation should be added to the subreddit rules.
Furthermore, as mentioned in the TL;DR, I am requesting clarification on if there’s any procedure by which you can get unbanned when 4THOT sets a condition on the unban — and whether or not he should be setting conditions on the ban. 4THOT has mentioned that "Ninou has orders to not unban certain [regards.]"
As it stands, it’s not clear if Destiny approves of this behaviour. I say this because I have not seen him comment on this aspect of moderation when it comes to the subreddit. If he already disapproves of this behaviour, then I would request that this sentiment be conveyed to 4THOT, which should hopefully reduce the likelihood this reoccurs in the future.
I'm asking that Destiny clarify here because then it's something that can be clipped, and moderators here can use that clip when, well, moderating.
One final point before I critique the bans. There’s a noticeable difference between this section on 4THOT, and his um, passionate challenge to Kelly Jean: she’s easy to avoid. Just close the stream mate! Whereas 4THOT has control over who can participate in this subreddit, Kelly Jean can't dictate who can and can't appear on stream. Mashallah. 🙏 Thus, I feel this submission has justification.

The Bullet: A Forlorn Attempt for Consistency

The second ban is infinitely more interesting, but I’ll briefly address the first 30-day ban. I am not here to relitigate this discourse. The post in question that led to the infraction was removed, but it's still available if you’re a moderator, and I won't be reposting it here. The gist of the post was a question on whether or not we should be banning people for misinformation, referencing a user who received a 90-day ban from 4THOT for posting a misquote from a mainstream Israeli news outlet, during a live translation of a speech Netanyahu was giving. I’m pretty sure 4THOT knows who i24News are, so I couldn't quite follow his thought process here.
Moreover, if you’ve gone through the examples above, then you can easily imagine my bafflement here as well, particularly because a couple days earlier a Twitter clip was posted of an individual clearly misspeaking.
The user who submitted this post was only banned for 10 days — despite doubling down on this not being a misspeak — and I was bemused by the inconsistency being applied here. Being completely consistent in terms of my own principles, I mentioned in my post that I don’t think either of them should be banned, but if this is the standard that is going to be maintained, then it would only be reasonable that some level of leniency is given if you happen to inadvertently post misinformation from a reputable news outlet.
Regarding the Netanyahu misquote, I am in full agreement with 4THOT that it is a misquote, but it is regrettable that, well, some chose to challenge him on this front, arguing that the corrected quote is functionally the same, or worse. Take note of how civil his interlocutor here is up until the point 4THOT used an insult; unwisely, his interlocutor chose to match tone. I’m only mentioning this because, despite the insults 4THOT might use against me, I have no interest in engaging in a similar style of rhetoric as I don't find it to be conducive to a productive conversation, and I’m hoping I don't have to deal with a level of vitriol here that users are sometimes not allowed to match — not that I have any interest in doing so. There’s a couple tame jokes in this post, but hopefully I don’t get a response like this:

A Guardian Angel?

Now, after I was banned, another user made a post about the ban upon myself, which generated a fair amount of interest, you fucking drama frogs. Here, I simply wish to make four remarks:

• I'm sure you can see how different in tone, rhetoric, and substance OP’s post is compared to my original post (for those of you that remember reading it), and compared to this post. There are a number of insults that are frequently used against 4THOT which I don’t use as I’m looking for good-faith engagement from him. That being said, I appreciate the fact that OP wasn’t looking for a meaningful, productive exchange with 4THOT here, and thus they didn’t feel the need to temper their rhetoric.
• In the pinned comment, 4THOT uses a fair amount of hyperbole. The original post was very benign, and didn’t come anywhere close to conveying a sentiment that “this Reddit is ruined” or “4THOT is literally the IDF.” I don’t see how you can come away with this reading considering how mild the post was.
• Once more, I am not here to relitigate this, but I would have loved to address some of the criticism levelled against myself in the comments under OP’s post; I certainly wasn’t going to re-open those conversations a month later. That being said, I appreciate users like Wannabe_Sadboi for making the arguments that I, more or less, would have made had I had the opportunity to immediately respond. Just to quote one of their comments: “People shouldn’t be banned for being partisan, they should be banned only for breaking rules, and Splemndid didn’t break any rules.” But, apparently, there are rules being broken here, and it is not clear what these rules are, and whether or not Destiny approves of them.
• If the original post was problematic because it was too indirect, then hopefully this post which is significantly more direct — but kept well under the threshold of something that could be constituted as a “hate-post” — should not be a problem.

Chilling Effect. Brrr 🥶

When I was hit with the 30 day ban, I sent a direct appeal hoping the length of the ban would at least be reduced, which didn't receive a response, and neither did sending an unban request via the unban request form. No biggie. At least with a temporary ban I know when to expect to be unbanned.
After the 30 day ban, I decided to give up doing two things: (1) making attempts to get other users unbanned when I felt the justifications were not cogent or fair; and (2) participating in I-P threads that 4THOT himself had already made comments within — in particular, those where he was actively arguing with other users on the subreddit. This is a bad chilling effect; even if I see a comment they have made where they’ve made a false claim, or I disagree with their analysis or moral claims, I’m choosing not to engage because I'd rather not go through yet another cycle of bans. I value shitposting in the subreddit more than having arguments with 4THOT.
Moreover, I’m also not interested in getting caught in the crossfire when, upon finishing his Reddit debate, he bans his interlocutor from the subreddit, and also those who have made similar comments to the one his interlocutor has espoused elsewhere in the thread. He does not always do this, and I would literally never make the claim that he just “ban everyone that disagrees with [him]”. I won’t call this hyperbole as I’m sure someone has levelled this incorrect accusation against him. 4THOT is capable — and has demonstrated on myriad occasions — of being able to have dispassionate disagreements. The issue is that I’m not interested in rolling the dice here with another ban.
Thus, I decided to avoid 4THOT entirely while participating in the sub as normal, making the usual shitposts. (Y’all are welcome for the template, btw. I went frame by frame, looking for the shot of Destiny at his most euphoric.) Alas, woe is me, I made a fatal error: I can’t avoid 4THOT if I choose to comment in a thread first. Browsing new, the bane of my existence, Hobbitfollower you dastardly devil.

The Nuke: A Muddled Statement and Different Interpretations

In the trenches of new, I came across a submission which posted this version of a Jerusalem Post article. If you've read The Six Points, then you can see what I'm attempting to do in my comment, that was apparently egregious enough to warrant banning me “until Israel/Palestine is over.” Before I go over this, I’m going to once again link the comment I made on this subreddit defending Israel from the accusation that they have been siding with ISIS for years.

Consistency

I apply the exact same methodology when dispelling conspiracy theories on Israel as I do for the UN official whose comments are the subject of the post. I’m digging up the relevant primary sources; I’m searching for archived versions of articles posted on inactive websites; I’m reading multiple articles from different Israeli outlets reporting on the same speech; and I’m reading the entire transcript of the nearly hour-long speech by the head of the Israeli Military Intelligence at the time, Herzi Halevi, just so I can make an informed comment here. At no point am I ever concerned that I could be banned for this comment. I can freely talk about anti-Israel propaganda, and I know no moderator is going to bat an eye at that.
I recently watched a Hasan video because dgg taught me the art of hate-watching, and now I hate-watch dgg while they hate-watch Hasan. Early on in the video, an article headline by the Intercept is shown: “Leaked Cables Show White House Opposes Palestinian Statehood.” Ken Klippenstein appears in the byline, which immediately sets off a red flag for me because I’ve found reporting by him in the past to be absolutely dreadful, including the time when he used to work for the Grayzone, where he gave Seymour Hersh a softball interview, and allowed him to spread risible conspiracy theories. The Intercept article shown in Hasan’s video doesn't provide the cables they are reporting on, but they are available on Ken’s substack. Without going on a tangent, unsurprisingly, the Intercept’s piece on these cables misrepresents them (IMO).
Similarly, when I had a discussion with a tankie on another subreddit on whether or not the 2010 Australian Labor Party leadership spill was “a US-backed coup”, I once again seeked out all the relevant and many Wikileaks cables, read them all, and made my own assessment.

Dolls

Enough examples! You get the idea! I have a consistent principle that I am applying here. Upon opening up the JP article OP submitted, I see Danielle Greyman-Kennard in the byline. This is a person who previously wrote an article claiming that a dead Palestinian baby was a doll (which is not the first or last time this has happened in general; Pallywood amirite?). When it was brought to her attention that this is a body going through rigor mortis, she doubled-down in a patronising tweet.
Eventually, someone at the JP realized the fuck-up, and the article was retracted. There are a number of journalists and writers for Israeli outlets that seek to publish or tweet out any information that casts pro-Palestine organisations or individuals in a bad light — and that’s fine. If you’re pro-Palestine, and you’re saying or doing some dumb shit, that’s on you, not the individual that wants to report on it. However, there are biases at play here, where one must be cognizant of how these biases can filter down into how information is presented.

Direct Appeal

The following is the direct appeal I sent when I was banned which will serve as a clarification on the comment:
What up, I initially disagreed with your assessment, but upon re-reading it, now I'm unsure what our disagreement is, and what you think I was trying to address in my comment. Hopefully, the following will serve as clarification.
When I opened up the submission, I read the headline, I read the article, I watched the clip contained within, and then I sought out any additional footage from the interview that was readily available. The safe assumption I make when it comes to article submissions on reddit is that folk are generally not going to read the article, and will likely only comment based on the headline. If the headline is poor, I might present information in the comments in order to ensure that the criticism is well-directed. The headline of the Jerusalem Post article is:

UN Special Rapporteur 'unaware' of rocket attacks on Israel

If you asked the average person what they thought this headline meant, they would think the UNSR thought there had been no rocket attacks launched against Israel ever or since the start of the war. As evidence that some came away with this conclusion, you can read [redacted link] here posted on [redacted subreddit] (emphasis mine):

This can't be real right? This is a fake article right? Or a satire piece? Because if they've lived their entire lives unaware of the rocket attacks, then they have no right having anything to do with the global politics or whatever it is the UN does. That's just insane.

In other words, this individual is in disbelief, and they're astonished that Reem Alsalem, the UNSR, is completely unaware of any rocket/missile attacks that have been fired against Israel ever. Here I hope we can acknowledge two things: (1) Alsalem does believe there have been missile attacks against Israel at various points in time; and (2) most pro-Hamas sycophants aren't going to deny these missile attacks have taken place -- they want these attacks to take place. Alternatively, they might seek to diminish the destructive capability of these attacks, or assert that it is Israel's fault these attacks are occurring. It's pretty rare to come across someone claiming they've never happened, period.
My comment was made to highlight that she was really caught up in the frequency of the attacks and how she was possibly misinterpreting the question. Reem Alsalem has a wide litany of dumb beliefs that you can criticize her on; in this case, I thought the criticism would be better directed for being unaware of the frequency of attacks. The JP itself does include a line that would have better served as a headline:

[UN Special Rapporteur] unaware of the frequent rocket attacks made by Hamas and Hezbollah against Israel.

As mentioned, I was trying to ensure that commenters didn't make comments like the one I linked. Re-reading my own comment, it could have been phrased better to make sure that those who read it understood my intentions.

Further comments

The rest of the direct appeal consisted of me clearing up any misconceptions that I might be pro-Hamas, providing various links of comments that demonstrate what my beliefs are. This my attempt to "pass the litmus test" as I don't believe I'm being engaged on the merits of my argument.
Once again, as I’ve hopefully established by now, we know there can be a widespread reluctance here to sometimes read past the headline and open the article, and even the article itself might not have sufficient context to truly parse what is being said. At the time, the only additional footage available from the interview was the five minute, heavily edited clip compilation available on the interviewer’s Twitter. It is just… irritating to watch. Partly because, as I said, I have to suffer through listening to Alsalem’s asinine beliefs, but also because it’s so chopped up that I can't quite tell what’s been cut out, what statements are directly following from which questions, and so on.
Other users also had interpretations of their own to give, taking note of the fact that there may be an edit after she says "but". I actually don’t think there was anything additional said, and it’s just awkwardly edited. However, unlike with Herzi Halevi’s speech, I and everyone else watching these clips are working with scraps here, and the segment that aired on Hazinor, Channel 13 is exactly the same. There is ambiguity here; an amorphous, nebulous, incoherent jumble of statements where one can make a range of interpretations — but one of those interpretations was not permissible on the subreddit. My own of course.
I’m still baffled as to what 4THOT’s contention here is. He comments:

!cleanse nvm you're an idiot. She says she has seen "attacks" but does not specify from where or whom or when. When he specifically asks if she's seen rocket attacks that have been reported from the north from Hezbollah and South from Hamas without "every single day" and is asked about rocket attacks from those areas says she hasn't seen it.

I presume the position he holds here is that Alsalem is being sly: when she says that she has seen attacks, she is actually referring to Israeli attacks, not Hamas or Hezbollah. For further clarity, I would have asked 4THOT:

• Do you think Alsalem holds the position that Hamas or Hezbollah have never fired rockets against Israel?
• If no, do you think Alsalem holds the position that Hamas or Hezbollah have never fired rockets against Israel since the initial barrage of rocket attacks on Oct. 7th?

In his first reply to my comment, he armed me and said I was his “strongest soldier.” 😳 Must have noticed these guns 💪😎. It seems like he originally agreed with me, and I don't know what impact, if any, this had on the ultimate decision.
I remember staring at this section of the unban request form thinking, "Err, I don't know." Like you all, when I've been banned by Destiny in the past, I know what to write here. He doesn't like snark; if you're being a condescending prick, get that ass banned. I have a general understanding of what sort of comments Destiny hates in this subreddit, and thus I know how to participate in the subreddit without being on the receiving end of a ban.
Taking the recommendation of another user, I cobbled together something for the unban form, and figured I'd just try again in a month. Alas, both the form and my last exchange with 4THOT was unsuccessful, and I would not have even attempted to send an unban request form to Ninou had I known that she had "orders to not unban" certain users. While I can understand that there may be certain users whose offenses are so egregious that a ban conditional on a lengthy period of time having been passed first is warranted, I don't believe I fall in this camp.
It's often stated by both Destiny and other moderators that the "process to get unbanned is pretty easy." Conditional bans tarnish the smoothness of this process, where good-faith unban requests are rejected due to the condition set, and I don't believe this should be the case.
If Destiny could offer further clarity here, that would be appreciated by both myself and others who have had this conditional ban placed upon them.

The Litmus Test:

Scroll up all the way to the top of Part 1, and what do you notice I've done in the preamble? I’m keen to avoid guilt by association; I believe Destiny just calls this being “webbed.” In the TL;DR I specifically mention the "pro-Israel crowd"; I know what this will invoke in the minds of people reading this, the associations people will draw to other people who have made criticism against the pro-Israel crowd. Thus, I feel the need to ensure that I dissociate myself from those people. That’s why you see the statement about Hasbara and brigading; it’s me raising a giant flag screeching, “Hey, I’m not like the others, this post is different!”
Let me give a couple examples here (suffer through some more examples…you must suffer…).

Example I - An Odd Title and an Audacious Inquiry

In this submission, OP posts a Twitter video with the submission title: “Reuters video shows militants armed with assault rifles atop aid convoy trucks and shooting at palstinians [sic] approaching the trucks.” Now, no one mentioned this in the comments, so to add some clarification here: this is not Reuters reporting, this is a clip from a Reuters live stream showing a view from a tent camp in Rafah. (Specific timestamp here.) Anyone watching this stream can clip whatever noteworthy event they see and add their own statements on what has transpired. As far as I can tell, that seems to be what the original clip here from N12 news has done, and it was also posted on their website, with no additional details.
This individual (henceforth called Doc) asked some fair questions. They made mistakes, of course, such as watching the clip on mute (you silly goose); but I would agree that “shooting at palstinians [sic]” invokes an image of, well, Palestinians being riddled with bullets, and instead we get what seems to be shots fired into the air. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to ask that the title reflect this distinction. What’s unfortunate here is that merely attempting to get an accurate summary is enough for OP to assume the worst about them, and thus we get the rebuke: “Keep dicksucking the terrorists stealing the aid.” I’ve seen Doc’s comments before, when they say they’re an “Israel stan”, they are. But for OP, they immediately engaged in “the web”, guilt by association, etc., and that was enough to result in this petty infighting. I thought leftists were the only ones that did that?

Example II - No Steelmans Allowed

In the second example, it’s me that’s on the receiving end of the purity test. Personally, as someone who is not a leftist (see what I’ve done there?), I do think a considerable number of y’all miss the mark when it comes to criticising leftists, and I attempt to steelman their positions as I find that to be more conducive for better discourse. Feel free to disagree with the steelman, the point is that merely providing that steelman is enough for OP to assume that these are my own positions — despite clearly stating multiple times that I’m not pro-Palestine, that I support Operation Prosperity Guardian, etc. Once again I bring up that I have defended Israel from silly conspiracy theories when they mentioned “your tribe”, as that’s my attempt to pass the litmus test, demonstrating my impartiality here.

Example III - ???

I'm not sure if 4THOT engaged in a similar type of purity testing both for the initial comment I was banned for, and also in my last exchange with them on another subreddit. The exchange was pretty bizarre: I asked if they checked Reddit DMs; they replied that they do, and “our agreement stands.” In their next reply, they mentioned that they confused me with another person, and said that, “Yes, once I/P is over I will let your people go.” That phrase “your people”, is quite similar to how the OP in the previous example said “your tribe” and “your side.” This seems to be the guilt by association I spoke on: I’m being lumped in with a group whose views generally don’t align with my own. That’s why part 1 begins with an introduction on myself. I need to pass the litmus test first before I can get good engagement — and it’s unfortunate that I feel compelled to do that.

Engage in good-faith

The conclusion here is a simple one: don't assume what positions your interlocutor holds merely because they're skeptical about that framing of certain stories, or because they attempt to provide a steelman for the opposing side.

Finito for Real

What I’m looking for here is clarity. UN officials will continue to say and do stupid things; that applies to pro-Palestine people, that applies to leftists. But every now and then, upon seeing one of these submissions, I might think, “Eh, this is pretty stupid, but I think it’s stupid for slightly different reasons to everyone else.” Can I express those opinions here? Must I add a preamble to every comment so that people don’t assume the worst? Do I need to be thinking, “Hmm, I wonder what 4THOT thinks about this story?”

I have an intense amount of OCD during my gameplays especially with mods like Kaiserreich where everything is well setup and clean.
I have an obsession with even numbers and originality, also with lines, names, flags, everything basically. For example, if I'm playing U.S. I'll be making the armies, 24 divisions with 12 infantry, 4 tank, 4 cavalry/special forces, 4 motorised etc. And I'll be naming it historically or to my liking. I don't like how numbers like "2nd" look so I'll put II. instead. Same with the navy, 4 battleships, 8 cruisers, 14 destroyers etc. Either 2 or 4 squadrons within a fleet. Always choosing commanders with higher quality portraits. And division logos has to have similar colours to the general colour palette, and always using the star or the castle looking logo, since my brain have decided they're the most "original" looking ones.
Every production line has to have an even number of factories. 12 for rifles, 6 for tank, 4 for aircraft, 2 for trucks etc.
Templates need to be balanced too, so if I have made 3 infantry battalions, I can only put 3 battalions next to it, like 3 artillery. Support companies have to go in same manner in every template. Engineer corps first, artillery secon, recon third.
Companies are the same, more original looking companies with nice logos and even number benefits like 10% production efficiency, 5% reliability etc. (5 is the only okay number since it's also systematic) Doesn't matter if they're the worst company. That's just how my brain wants it. It ruins my armies sometimes because they require more diversity, maybe better companies or advisors (I choose advisors in the same manner, as number benefits, high quality portraits) that is why it's also hard to play smaller countries, since generic logos and generals look ugly usually.
I am going to lose my mind. I keep deleting and redownloading the game just to keep satisfying my OCD. Sorry for the Patrick Batemanesque rant.

So i went to fire up Meta Quest app this morning (was working fine with my Quest Pro yesterday).
After 4 or 5 attempts at starting with headset unplugged and plugged. Still no luck.
Firewall and Anti-virus both completely shut down.
Updated nVidia drivers.
On a couple of occasions the setup app seemed to be about to start but then the black square in the middle of the desktop just disappeared.
So i uninstalled and deleted ALL oculus and oculus related folders/files on my PC incl. in Users\XXX\AppData\Local, LocalLow and Roaming.
Also deleted all registry entries related to oculus software with Revo Uninstaller.
Several restarts/shutdowns etc. Still oculussetup.exe won't start or crashes after 3-4 seconds.
Searched online.
Tried ALL the steps on this page:

However, applying a variant of the fulcrum cross method yields dramatic findings. Within a signalling proposition, the distance between D1520 and Elsie appears to serve as a pointer to use the fulcrum cross and the logic of the π routes threaded in the data. This comes into sharp relief when looking at the stretch between D1520 and Elsie as span (so 1542 days), counting the number of days including both dips. First, revisiting the variant of the fulcrum cross, which uses half the 66 days of the two extended sectors of the standard template 1574 (52 * regular 29-day sectors = 1508, 2 * 33-day extended sectors = 66):
1541 (days separating one dip from the other) + 33 = 1574
1541 - 33 = 1508
This is because without even processing 1541 days, it fragments into half the standard template and half the 52 regular sectors:

Summary: unlike the stretches between other dips, the distance as difference and as span between D1520 and Elsie serves to flag the connection between the abstract (the standard 1574 template and the 52 regular sectors) and the concrete (the completed template: 1508 + 66.4), and underpinned by the ratio signature rendering of π into discrete 100th segments at the opening stages (where the numbers are most important for astrophysical modelling and science in general).

The Apollo cabin was leading a song at the moment, by the campfire, as the Ares cabin shot looks at the Athena cabin. All of which was relatively normal. The boy you were staring at caught your gaze. He gave a quick smile and a shy wave, before glancing back to the older boys and laughing a bit. (Not at you,) :.

He looked around, awkwardly. “Ignore the uh.. mud..” he gave an awkward laugh as he wiped the dry mud and dirt from his arms and cheeks, waiting for your response.—

— You move into the back corner of the Forge, carefully trying to dodge sparks from metal, bracing your ears for the loud clangs and excruciating heat from the fires. You settle yourself into a comfortable standing position as you begin to heat up your sword with a blowtorch, grabbing goggles and placing them on your head. You feel a pair of eyes burning into your side, as you turn your gaze to your left and spot a short-haired girl staring at you with a flat expression. She has goggles pushed upwards on top of her head and gloves on as she looked down at your sword, not bothering to make eye contact. —` You’re doing it wrong. ` — She comments dryly. —

14 - Cabin 12/Dionysus - mother was a traveling singer and danceentertainer for the renaissance festival, Castor and Pollux which she has a decent relationship with - she has silky black mid-length hair and purple eyes, which she put contacts in when she was younger, since kids would bully her for the fact, she has pale-ish skin that mostly pales in the wintertime, which is why she loves heat. - She’s very sarcastic and has a good sense of humor, while she can be dry sometimes she’s also very good at acting and lying, from her dad. She likes talking. A lot. She’s very good at manipulating people, but she never really uses that ability much. She’s “cold” to people she doesn’t like, and she’s kinda the definition of “I don’t care what anyone thinks”, but she won’t just go frolicking in public screaming Good For You from Dear Evan Hansen at top lung capacity. She’s very dry sometimes, and extremely stubborn. She holds grudges against people, and she thinks first expressions are the most important. She’s a really supportive friend though. She can get quite disrespectful, and believes she shouldn’t have to follow any rules she doesn’t agree with. Overall She’s pretty laidback, unless passionate about a certain topic. - Percy def, uhh, Castor and Pollux, I dunno she likes to stay by herself mostly. 17 - Cabin 7/Apollo - his mom was a marine biologist, they had a really close connection. He had a dad (his mom’s husband) before Apollo, who was a nurse, but y’know, after he found out his wife was pregnant with someone random’s child, he divorced her. His stepdad was an ecologist, who worked at a zoo, so he spent most of his childhood at a zoo, now he loves animals. Until his stepdad got a divorce from his mom for money reasons. He’s the middle child of two mortal sisters. His older sister was born from his dad before Apollo, and his younger sister was born from his stepdad. His older sister’s name is Devyn, and his younger sister’s name is Emma - He has curly dirty blonde hair and suntanned skin, with brown/azure eyes that appear orange in the sun. Sometimes he uses hair gel, but he’s mostly given that up, because nobody really cares about what you look like at CHB. He’s often covered in dirt, and sometimes has leaves and twigs caught in his hair. During capture the flag he puts mud on his arms and stuff, and sometimes he creates tiger patterns on himself from the mud :] - He’s very passionate, and mostly happy, but he gets hurt very easily, emotionally. Central Sault Ste Marie, SCS;

{Foreknowledge}

Commencement;

Whilst the Maple Leaf Society (MLS) planned to begin battle at 9am, and assembled on Andrew Street accordingly, the weather began to have other ideas.
The assembly on Andrew Street was not one that the police dared touch, and thus they observed at a safe distance. These demonstrators were not too heavily-armed - a few had taken logging equipment or utensils, however, so a collection of chainsaws and knives were posted around the outside, whilst some carried hidden guns, mostly rifles held ‘in case of emergencies’. Most were dressed in red, white, and blue, and many held aloft Canadian federal flags, which flapped violently within the rising breeze. Most were restless whilst waiting, with the collection having assembled over time before the bell struck thrice.
The lightning struck the bell tower, and rang the bell out once more, causing many to look at their watches and at the stopped clock, as the mist and the storm came down upon the street. The few neutral onlookers took for cover, for the storm was an hour early, and yet, the collection stood still. Lightning had entered the fray. That was nothing compared to the challenge that was about to await them, and their opposition had begun to incrementally collect upon Queen Street East. No doubt they would be unaffected also.
Approaching from the east, upon Queen Street East, was the Monde Suffit (MS), approaching to oppose the advance of the MLS. The League wished to integrate into Canada, and allow access into the incredible welfare systems of the eastern neighbour, but they knew that the Laissez-Faire approach to dealing with such organisations as the MS would be lost. The MLS had been allowed to remain for 9 years since their sudden inception in 1956 - the MS had existed for a few years longer still. To start their efforts to reform the entire world, the MS simply needed to conquer one land. One land would be all it took, and the SCS was the ideal place, the template for all future actions of the Monde Suffit. They needed the SCS more than anybody else, and so had to come to blows with the MLS. Lightning hadn’t struck the clock tower, just some nearby buildings close around the centre, so they would be fine in the avenues below. Besides, they needed to do something, and do it quick.
Thus, they took the initiative. They planned to start at 10, when they finally got people across from Sault South on the morning ferries that were badly hit by the bad weather, so needed the visibility of broad daylight. That did not matter now, so the vanguard took up their banners and shields, and swung around the crossroads, and across the width of Andrew Street.
10,000 MLSers met 8000 MSers, and so the battle commenced.

Two Tribes;

Quickly, the battle lost its formless nature, and it quickly became apparent whom the more organised group were in the fray. The MLS had the members, the greater proportion of members, and the city was more the MLS’s than the Monde Suffit’s. What was more, they had dressed broadly similarly, and used that, rather than banners on boards, to show their support, and so, it became increasingly easy for any MLSer to find the MSers to target. The bells did not strike for nine, or at least it did not for those in the melee below, such was the shouting and the violence. As more of the MSers turned up, the MLS found the numbers getting closer to even, yet even so, they had the weapons, and used them accordingly. Three in the MS were stabbed, as were two in the MLS, and each was brought quickly to hospital by foot, carried in newly-bloodstained white cloths of peace. They all found peace quite quickly.
By 0922, the local radios were beginning to broadcast of the fact that the battle was happening, and instantly, both sides received reinforcements, being so lucky as to, more-often-than-not, come across their rivals’ rearguard. They eventually found their way. 0925 saw five warning shots be fired into the air, and two towards the sodden ground, bouncing up into their comrades’ bodies. The shots were enough to contact the police of the start of fighting, but upon finding the fight to be greater than what simple batons allowed, they were forced to leave. Phone calls were made, and the rest of the emergency services were contacted, but it would be a while yet until they were able to collect together what they could use. Until then, the fight turned bloodier.
Whatever people could use as weapons, they did. For some, that meant breaking open the beer bottles left on the street, and chucking the broken glass right into the opposing party. For others, it meant turning said bottles into Molotov cocktails. The rain dampened the fires being started, as the side-businesses found themselves becoming increasingly well-used as makeshift shelters. Glass was being broken, as were the shop doors and signs. No cars were present on the streets to set alight - a good thing - but a couple of bicycles were chucked across instead, back and forth between the two sides. The fifth instance of this new phenomenon was met with a low-pitched shout, and at 1029, the battle was changed for good.

Third Foe;

At said time of 1029, the water cannons started to fire directly into the crowd. These cannons were supported by 2300 PSI hydrants, some of the most powerful available, and had immediate impact - the lines began to form up and hold firm. What was left of boardings or shields, makeshift and deliberate, was used to shield the fronts of each protest, as the engines fired from Queen Street West. They fired for seven minutes, before the police charged down the street, with the army ready to support. The motorbike transport battalions were ready to use their vehicles if needs required.
They did not require the vehicles, as police charged into the gap between the two protest groups, in whatever protective clothing they could get, in ad-hoc formations, just trying to shut down the situation. Shouts came up for renewed cannon use, and the water strayed all place all again, and still the lines were restless. One MLSer attacked a police officer, then was pushed back by three comrades as the other officials looked for revenge, to make their arrest. The trio were pulled into police lines, and sent away. One man with a chainsaw on the right-side of the protest, too, was arrested as he refused to hand over the weapon. It seemed quiet, and it seemed as if the police tactics were working. The armed forces turned away, and drove back to barracks.
Once 10 minutes had passed, as the clocks struck 1102, the police regretted it.
Both lines charged toward the police lines, to get at each other again, to try to find some way to renew the hostilities, and in the centre, the lines broke through. Now, it was three forces that were fighting - police, MS, and MLS were altogether in the fray, and there was no way to win the fighting except with superior numbers. More police tried to break through to their trapped comrades, holding a single corner with only 50 inside, and the movement grew tenser. For context: 1. I worked with 2 software dev teams to build out a social media app. 1st team was as close to a scam as you can legally get without being sued, 2nd one was great. I am better at spotting red flags and green flags while contracting teams now.

1. The app is polished, original, and smooth. However it is not monetized yet and I have spent over half of my net-worth developing the app. I am the only person financing the app. I have not sought investors due to my low amount of users and no revenue.
   
2. I have tested the app and gotten feedback from 100+ users. I receive mostly the same feedback: “love the idea and could see myself using the app if you made 2 changes and then had more users on the app.” My team estimated the 2 specific changes that everybody wants and it’s too expensive for me.

2. I’ve been at this project for 3 years, and it’s only been expenses. How do other tech startups justify to the IRS that their startup is a legit business so they don’t bump into hobby loss rules? Not being able to deduct my expenses would blow this whole thing up.
   
3. Is there a place to sell high-quality, low-value apps that ran out of runway? I found several app broker sites, but they are either for highly profitable apps selling for $500k+ or churn and burn mini game apps and app templates selling at <$500. My app does not fit either of these categories since it has some ~150 users, and is essentially a highly pivotable launch pad for devs who like the idea, but want to take the app in their own direction. (Maybe it’s dumb to think this way since I have no traction yet. Not sure. I haven’t done any marketing yet.)

I know that most people on this sub are dismissive of the IPL. However, I think the current edition of the league marks a watershed moment in t20 cricket. It’s not just about flag pitches, impact players or small boundaries. The range and hitting prowess of batters has significantly improved. The game has changed. And our tactics/strategy/approach are stuck in the past.
Few things to note:
130-40 is no longer a good strike rate. In fact, it marks that you’re a liability. The minimum SR that can be considered decent is 150-70. Good strike rate can be considered 170-90. And anything above 200 will considered excellent.
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A PAR SCORE! If you’re setting a total, maximise your resources. Most t20 outfits bat deep. There is no need for an anchor now. At max, one. And that too at an eventual strike rate of at least 150.
Bowlers like Bumrah are a rare exception. Expect even the best of bowlers to be tonked. An average of 8 is gold dust now! Even 9 is a decent average.

So the recent findings have led me to establish some clarifications for the 'template'. which like the dip signifiers, comprises of two forms: standard and completed. Of course the problem of the standard template is that over time it loses consistency because the full orbit periodicity (re: Sacco) = 1574.4. The fulcrum cycle (2.5 * 1574.4 = 3936) was a solution I hit upon after close study of Bruce Gary's 2019 photometry, where the first of the multi-dip waves maxes on Oct 21, pointing to a 1-day advance of the fulcrum. However, I began to notice striking consistencies emerging when restoring the missing 0.4 fraction - assigning it to the fulcrum itself.
