These are screenshots from a video sorry if they aren’t the best quality. The history of this plant is when I was a child my father didn’t want it there so he cut it where you can see on the ground, I threw a fit because I loved this plant so he let me keep it, I was unaware of how to heal her so I just let it stay where it was cut and watered it regularly. To my surprise it shot roots through the side and into the ground but it would get damaged In high wind because it was still free floating. I wrapped the branch you see around the chain link fence when it was hardly long enough to get all the through now it is supporting it self with that branch.
Now to present day she’s not looking to hot, I’m wondering if I took the branches that reach into the ground and cut them and dug right under where the plant sits and put it into the ground if it would be able to root underground or if she’s just been without for too long.

Quick and Dirty: So long as you get Pep Talk by completing the first four dream quests, AND install Ye Olde Chemicker on Plunkett Street, you can get 15/15/15 on day 6 and beat the Ocean City Boardwalk games (Dream Cat not required). The rough outline: You get +2/+2/+2 from Ocean City perks and Charlestown State Pen perks, +1/+1/+1 from any number of hat and pants combos, +1/+1/+1 from the Monster Club sash, +1/+1/+1 from a Noble Elixir from Ye Olde Chemicker, +1/+1/+1 from the devil's food cake (throw a hot link down the H***hole), +1/+1/+1 from your choice of liquor and your bonus from the electrified orb, +1/+1/+1 from your Pep Talk perk and choice of cat, +1 to Moxie from a new set of teeth, +1 to Muscle from Chiropractic, +1 to mysticality from the statue of you, +1/+1/+1 from losing and getting Angry, Contemplative, and Aloof effects.
Beating the Ocean City Boardwalk games requires a minimum of 15/15/15 Mus/Mys/Mox stats. This is missable--it is possible to lock yourself out of being able to achieve such high stats. However, there are multiple ways to get your M-stats this high, meaning even if you miss one route to 15/15/15, another is likely still open. I wanted to make a quick guide about not only how to purely maximize stats, but the different options available to get yourself to 15/15/15.

Always Possible Stat Boosts

On any save file, 13/13/13 should be achievable. Here's how:

+1/+1/+1 from Basic Humanity
+4/+4/+4 from Skill Upgrades
+1 Muscle from "St. Polycarp's Forehead" perk (St. Polycarp's Cathedral quest)
+1 Mysticality from "Skeptical" perk (pay for a tarot reading three times at Ocean City Boardwalk)
+1 Moxie from "Expert Sitter" perk (Marvin's quest)

Those, which I assume most folks who made it through chapter 1 know about, bring you to 6/6/6. Potions, alcohol, and food will also easily net you +1, +1, +2 to your choice of stats (you can get higher boosts from food and potions, but they are unique and/or missable), bringing you to around 7/8/7. Then:

+1/+1/+1 from wearing the completed Monster Club sash accessory (complete all Monster Shack quests). To my knowledge, it is impossible to lock yourself out of this quest.
+1 Moxie from the "Perfect Teeth" perk (the dentist at the Maize Maze in Gray County)
+1/+1/+1 from giving prisoners Chiropractor gift certificates (Charlestown State Pen in Government Valley)
+1 Muscle from the "Well Adjusted" effect using the same gift certificate for yourself

This brings us to 10/10/10. To get to 13/13/13:

A hat and pants combo can get you +1/+1/+1 any playthrough. The intimidating Stetson from Haim Quarry in The Big Moist with S.I.T. kitchen britches from the S.I.T. gift shop) is the earliest available combo, but you can also combine any puckwudgie hat from Gray County with the corresponding S.I.T. pants from the S.I.T. gift shop). There's also the glorious tiara from the Wreck of the Longerfellow, which is difficult to reach.
The electrical orb on your bookshelf from Radio Shack in The Big Moist grants +1 to your class' main stat when you touch it.
The statue of you from Puckwudgie Village and one of the three M-stat cats (not counting the dream cat) can grant you +1 to an additional 2 M-stats
Finally: Losing battles (NOT surrendering!) will grant you Angry), Contemplative, and Aloof effects for an additional +1/+1/+1.

So, this will get you to +13/+13/+13 fairly hassle free. But that still leaves us 6 points shy of victory. Thankfully, there are myriad ways to reach that final number (and beyond)

Bridging the final +6 gap

All of the following is content you can lock yourself out of, sometimes pretty easily, sometimes pretty early in the game. The good news is, there are so many options, it's likely a path to 15/15/15 still exists on your save file unless you've reached the very late game and aren't lucky.

Dreams

You can get an additional +4 from Dream-related events.

The Dream Cat from the Prologue grants +1/+1/+1, for an additional +2 M-stats compared with the other M-stat cats. They are very missable, and you can permanently lose their boon if you pet another cat on Chapter 6, as you will not go to sleep again.
You must complete quests in your first four dreams to get the perk Pep talk, granting +1 to 2 of your 3 M-stats. You choose the M-stats by picking which statue to silence in Yet Another Fitful Dream.

Clothing

The giant maggot hat, which comes from helping the miners and NOT working with Frogger at Haim Quarry, gives +1/+1/+1 for an additional +1 M-stat.
Weathered Jeans can be bought from Advanced Pants on Day 4 if you choose it as an additional shop on Plunkett street. It grants +1 Muscle and +1 Moxie, and is the only pair of pants to provide +1 to more than 1 M-stat, for an additional +1 overall. You will only install 5 of the 9 possible stores on Plunkett street during a playthrough, making it easy to miss this shop.

This makes for a maximal +2 from better clothes.

Food

There are a number of food options to grant more than +1 to your M-stats, granting a maximal additional +2 to your M-stats overall.

Any food starting with H can be thrown in The H***hole in Gray County to make devil's food cake, for +1/+1/+1. Of particular interest are hot links, which can be crafted at arcane ovens from the infinitely abundant phlogistic resin. This is always available in any save file, but easily missed.
The Dauphin House) in The Big Moist contains a Can of Fruit Cocktail for +1/+1/+1. This item is unique.
Fruit Advertisements can be gotten from Junk Mail once you've gotten the letter opener on day 6. They give +1/+1/+1 when eaten.
Fish sandwiches can be bought from Fission Chips or The Underground Restaurant) for +1 to 2 M-stats of your choice (suboptimal, but available starting day 3)
Finally, picking Botany as a major opens up 2 interesting options for an additional (suboptimal) +1 to your M-stats: You can make a questionable salad at Professor Kalos' Holiday Home which grants +1 to Muscle and Mysticality when eaten, AND you can wander at S.I.T. with Barker to find Odd Fruit for +1 to Muscle and Moxie.

Potions

Potion options are comparatively limited, but can grant an additional +2.

The Noble Exlixir (+1/+1/+1) will be sold at Ye Olde Chemicker if you install it on Plunkett Street, but ONLY on day 6. You will only install 5 of the 9 possible stores on Plunkett street during a playthrough, making it easy to miss this shop.
If you take the Chemicals major at S.I.T., you can get Professor Adams as a companion. Talking to him at Ye Olde Chemicker will give you 3 of Professor Adams' special potions for +1/+1/+1. This can only be done once, but can get you +1/+1/+1 potions before day 6.
Without Ye Olde Chemicker, you can find radium rouge at the Dauphin House in The Big Moist for +1 to Mysticality and Moxie (suboptimal). This item is unique.

Other

There are a couple unique effects that you can use which will last 1 day only

At The Old Junkyard at Crystaldream lake, there's a tub you can soak in for +1/+1/+1 for the rest of the day. This is a one day only effect; you can only soak once and will not be able to soak any other day. Optimal to soak on day 6.
Similarly, in Gray County, you can encounter a blob of crude oil surrounded by electrified shale spires. If you choose the option "Harness the Lightning [7 Mysticality] you get +1 Mysticality from the Fossil Fueled effect for the rest of the day. This option can only be chosen once; the event can occur many times, but once you choose to harness lightning, it will never happen again (optimal to do so on day 6).
Finally, the exploit: You can get +3/+3/+3 if you choose spiders as an elective at S.I.T. I don't recommend it, but it's there.

Bonus Guide to Liquors

-Tequila grants +1 to Muscle and Mysticality and can be found in the Mob Submarine in The Big Moist, but only if you accept the Mob's offer on day 2. - Whiskey grants +1 to Muscle and Moxie and can be found in the Moonshiner's Cave in The Big Moist. - Absinthe grants +1 to Mysticality and Moxie and is found in Rufus' Lab) at S.I.T.
Shoutout to this previous post by u/Mr_Lisreal, which already covers most of what's in this post. My motivation behind making this was primarily that the wiki does not do a good job of displaying potion effects in a browsable way, and it wasn't clear to me if it was possible to completely box yourself out of being able to complete the boardwalk games (to my eye it appears possible, but uncommon). I also wanted a guide out there for freaks like me who enjoy petting cats, and therefore don't want to lean on the dream cat boon because it deprives you of the joy of petting all the other cats in the game.

My Primarch GF Chronicle: Fulgrim’s Muse (F! Fulgrim’s SO)
Preamble: This is based on the Primarch GF's AU created by u/Sweet_older-sister and will mainly cover what they've been doing around and after the heresy and during 40k. Disclaimer: This current version is the "good" route so most will be somewhat happy/hopeful but will still be (mostly) canon compliant
What Happened
After Fulgrim returned from the cleansing of Laeran with a strange sword, she slowly began to change from the kindhearted person who once sought perfection for herself and encourage and support others to do the same to a more twisted , narcissistic and self absorbed version of herself that began to appear more and more often. While these changes went unnoticed by most among the legion, they were quickly noticed by The Muse who tried to stem the tide and return the Primarch to her old self. When the Laer blade’s influence grew stronger over time, the Muse realised that them alone may not be enough and planned to stage an intervention alongside several senior officers in the legion such as Vespasian , Solomon Demeter and Rylanor in the hopes of getting Fulgrim to abandon the cursed blade for good. However, the plan ultimately never came to pass, as Vespasian was killed by Fulgrim’s own hand, much the Muse’s horror and realisation that the Primarch’s presence felt different… almost inhuman and more akin to a foreign entity.
After Vespasian’s death, the Muse was always either kept by the Primarch’s side or kept in an isolated room as Fulgrim became more and more paranoid and possessive of her lover and sought to keep them all to herself while the influence of the daemon within the Laer blade grew stronger and stronger. Desperate to separate the Primarch from her muse and eliminate the greatest obstacle to the complete fall and corruption of Fulgrim, the Daemon within the Laer blade temporarily took control of her body (an act which was met with fierce resistance by Fulgrim’s soul, leaving both the daemon weakened and a small uncorrupted part of Fulgrim’s soul to be torn off while still being stuck within the Primarch’s body) and, in a strangled voice and with dull sad eyes, ordered the Muse to join the first drop onto Istvaan III.
During the virus bombing of Istvaan III, the Muse nearly died from the virus bombs but was saved by Solomon Demeter who suffered grievous injuries leading them to safety amidst the ensuing firestorm. The Muse then went on to fight at Istvaan III alongside other loyalists led by Saul Tarvitz. During the battle, the Muse informed the loyalists present of Fulgrim’s current state and the Laer blade’s corruption. Later on, the Muse was tasked with guarding the underground hangar alongside Rylanor and several other Astartes.
After the final virus bombing and the end of the battle on Istvaan III, Rylanor , the Muse and the remaining Astartes within the underground hangar discussed their next course of action. While several plans were proposed, all ultimately settled on the plan proposed by the ancient Rylanor. The dreadnought’s plan was that they would bide their time while creating a potent weapon capable of destroying the entire planet before luring as many traitors to the planet as possible. Once all the preparations are completed, all except Rylanor, who would stand guard over them, would enter into a stasis pod to wait for time to enact the plan. Then when the moment comes, all the loyalists present would be given a choice: either board the spacecraft within the hangar and depart the planet or stay to oversee Istvaan’s destruction and go out in a blaze a glory.
Unbeknownst to all however, this plan was a trick by Rylanor who didn’t want to see anymore of his comrades die if he could help it. Thus, once everyone entered into stasis the ancient of rites loaded all the stasis pods onto the spacecraft before activating the ship’s cloaking device and enter a command for the spacecraft to fly into an asteroid field in a nearby system but not before leaving a final farewell message for each and every loyalist to be opened once they wake from stasis. After the spacecraft flew away, Rylanor activated the beacon, luring Fulgrim to the planet and blew it up (this part went down pretty much like in canon). However, the physical injuries and spiritual damage from the now Daemonic Primarch’s wounded pride allowed the small uncorrupted part of Fulgrim’s soul to break free from her body and enter into a clone created by Fabius Bile.
Meanwhile, during their stasis, the Muse and other Astartes present all received a vision from the emperor himself, detailing all that had transpired on Istvaan III and guide them towards the uncorrupted clone of Fulgrim. Once the Muse and company were awaken from stasis and entered back into realspace however, they discovered that Fabius Bile had given the clone of Fulgrim to the necron lord Trazyn the Infinite. Hearing of the necron lord’s interest in old Necrontyr artifacts through stories and rumours, the Muse now seek to gather a collection of items to bargain to exchange with Trazyn in return for the uncorrupted Fulgrim.

I just finished {Peaches & Honey: These Immortal Truths by R Raeta} and had to come straight here to rave about it!

Synopsis

Anna is a young, poor woman in England 1184, outcasted for her vitiligo. Struggling to survive on her own, she one day saves a girl in dire circumstances. This girl - actually a god in disguise - thanks her with the gift of a divine peach. Anna eats the entire thing, intrigued by its hollow center and lack of a seed. The peach grants Anna a gift: her wounds heal faster than they can kill her. But this gift comes with the challenges of outliving everyone she has ever known or will ever know. As the centuries pass, the only constant in her life is that her creator - Khiran - always returns to see her.

Review

The often-made comparison between this and The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue are very apt. That book is pretty polarizing, but I actually liked it quite a bit. However, I liked this one even better. This is the first book in a duology.
This book was excellent for a lot of different reasons:

Beautiful, lyrical prose
Anna is a deserving and kindhearted FMC, with not an ounce of sass or irony
Khiran is an intriguing MMC, a powerful and somewhat depressed man who wishes to live in a world of Anna's creation
Khiran's chemistry with Anna leaps off the page
Lovely historical settings, cultures, time periods, and people give each chapter a fresh feel
More character driven than plot driven, but with characters this great, that's a good thing
Deeply romantic pining over centuries
Third person POV

My only complaints about this book are quite minor:

At some point, it does seem a little silly that Anna just so happens to experience many major world events that a freshman in high school would learn in history class. I mean, yeah she just so happens to be in London during Jack the Ripper and in the US during the Civil War and underground railroad and in Italy during the initial spread of the black plague and in Spain during the first circumnavigation of the world and expansion into the New World and in Boston during the Boston Tea Partyand she's in Germany leading up to WWII At some point those coincidences do seem improbable and very western-centric (only one chapter focuses on the east; a chapter on China and piracy).
In addition, there are a 4-5 times in the story that anachronisms pop up that really stood out to me; calling the War of the Rebellion / War for Southern Independence the "American Civil War" in the 1860s just doesn't make sense. Referring to German LGBTQ+ people as "gay" in the 1930s when that term just didn't exist in that context then...

These complaints are very minor, however, because the prose is so beautiful and the characters are so wonderful to read about and experience all these different events through their eyes. The occassional incorrect, anachronistic word used every hundred pages or so is truly not a stumbling block to enjoying this book.
I couldn't put this book down and I am very eager for book 2 to come out in early June!

2024.05.13 22:54 Trash_Tia I can smell when someone is going to die, and my Scholastic Decathlon team stink of rotting lemons.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to be dead in the next 24 hours.
Whether that's the Costella family, or whatever this is, I'm not sure.
The police are taking forever, and part of me knows they're either refusing to believe me, or RC got them too.
I'm holed up on our school bus, so I've got nothing better to do.
I want to tell you about my team.
We met in our sophomore year.
Strangers standing outside the club room.
Levi was the freckled brunette who wouldn't stop talking about Game of Thrones.
Sunny, a pretty redhead, told him to shut up.
Tom, a sandy blonde, nodding his head to music corked in his ears.
I just wanted to be part of a club, and get away from my overbearing mother.
I won't say it was a perfect start. Our school was lacking in funding, so anyone could join, which made us more of a Quiz Club. I had some serious anxiety, so I stayed on the sidelines for a while, watching, rather than taking part.
It's not like we actually talked to each other initially. The first few weeks, we played Jeopardy, and attempted to find more members to cement us as an official Academic Decathlon club.
Unfortunately, though, it was just the four of us.
Which made it extremely hard for us to be taken seriously.
According to Google, Academic Decathlon teams were made up of nine members, placed by their GPA.
Our principal laughed at us, but he did let us become official.
Which was out of pity, I assumed.
The club was assembled, and we started meeting up after school.
Sort of.
Sunny barely showed up, and Levi didn't take anything seriously, preferring to spend the time telling us about his weird family turf-war.
Our principal dumped us in a tiny classroom with a resident rat living under the floorboards.
There was barely enough room to move, and the four of us crammed together for three hours was less than appealing.
Still, though, I wanted to be part of a club.
I had grown up with parents who were obsessed with board games, so I was pretty good at general knowledge questions. Our club room was too small for anything else but three desks (Sunny and I shared one) and a whiteboard we had to shove through the door.
But, again, we didn't start as an Academic club.
It was more akin to Story Time Club.
Arriving late on my third day, armed with quiz cards from home, I found Tom and Sunny completely mesmerised by Levi’s storytelling skills, drowned in shadow.
They didn't even turn the lights on.
I strictly remember squeezing next to Sunny, and hearing the words, “But there was so much blood all over the floor, and my Mom told me to go upstairs and hide under the bed…”
Sitting in front of them was Levi, perched on a desk, his legs swinging, a whiteboard marker between his teeth.
Sometimes he'd get up, and illustrate parts of his story.
It sucked that his drawings were all stick people.
I won't go into full details of his life, but Levi grew up as part of a family who had… interesting methods of making a living. I had seen the guy’s father multiple times when we hung out at his place, and, yeah, my friend’s family definitely had Soprano vibes.
Levi’s Draw My Life was nothing to do with the club, but it did bring us closer.
Even if, at that point, I was considering leaving.
But it's not like it was easy to walk away from these guys. It's like finding your soulmates. Levi wasn't the only one with an interesting life. Sunny Lang was an ex kpop trainee, who was kicked out for being too fat, which led her to develop a severe eating disorder, and a hatred for her own body.
Sunny explained her family were originally from Boston, her mother growing up in Korea.
She signed up for an idol agency focusing on creating a new girl group, and had gotten all the way to the final stages, before being kicked for her weight. Sunny told us her story with a smile, though there was a hollowness in her eyes I couldn't ignore. The other girls were judgemental bullies, and the idol diet and brutal regime almost killed her.
Sunny lived in a tiny apartment with 9 girls, who would tear each other apart for a chance to debut. Sunny said all the other girls debuted, and when we (not so patiently) asked for names, she shrugged, admitting she signed an NDA that prevented her spilling the beans.
What she did say, was the K-pop idol is a product, not a person– and are made and moulded into a product.
She had zero interest in throwing her humanity away to become a manufactured doll.
So, one of us was the son of an underground family, and the other was an ex idol.
Tom was an aspiring horror writer with a famous older step-brother.
His story times were usually, That one time I went to the Met Gala.
When it was my turn to reveal my story, I told them the only interesting thing about me.
I could smell when something bad was going to happen.
They laughed, but I was being serious.
When I was a kid, I smelled my mother’s brain tumor.
I remember it smelled like curdled milk.
I asked Mom why her head smelled of mouldy milk, and Mom laughed and said it was her shampoo.
It was actually a grade two tumor growing inside her brain.
Thankfully, the tumour was found quickly and removed.
Growing older, I became sensitive to smell. The little girl choking on the bus smelled of singed wood, and the old man crossing the road stunk of gasoline.
In the fourth grade, my classmate Alex Castor smelled of lemons all morning.
I sat behind him, choking on the stink all the way through class.
Ever since I met him, Alex had always smelled… off.
It was a distinct smell I could never understand, and as the days and months and years went by, that smell morphed into a subtle orangey musk that was so strong I had to cover my mouth and nose. Then, he smelled like lemons.
During Recess, I watched Alex fall off of the jungle gym, straight onto his head.
Alex Castor was dead before the paramedics arrived, my panicked teacher attempting CPR when his brains were leaking out of his ears.
The school claimed it was an accident, but Alex would have been fine if the jungle gym wasn't built on solid concrete.
I told my team members this, and Levi was sceptical.
“You can smell bad things?” He said, his lips curved around his milkshake straw. In the early days, we hung out in the local bar. It's not like we were allowed inside, but Levi could get us in anywhere.
I was squeezed between Tom and Sunny, while Levi took the seat opposite us. I couldn't help noticing our waitress was insisting on free milkshake refills, her frantic eyes glued to Levi.
I had zero idea why. Levi Costella was about as intimidating as a fruit fly.
Wearing a white shirt with a popped collar, a leather jacket thrown over the top, Levi was giving rebellious Harvard student, rather than son of a crime family.
Leaning forward, he raised a brow, clearly not believing me.
“So, you're like a stink psychic?”
I shrugged, sipping my own shake.
“Sure.”
I wasn't planning on telling him the club room smelled off on our first day.
Once we actually started the club, Levi surprised us as the smartest member, and getting to know him further, I came to the realization his family were infamous in our town.
However, his parents hid it well. Lucy and Michael Costella were the owners of a popular ramen store in our town, hiding under the facade of two successful business owners. The Costella’s were an attractive family.
Lucy was a sophisticated brunette with a lipstick smile, Michael, a handsome fluffy haired man who looked like he modelled glasses.
The two were fiercely protective over their youngest son, not so casually reminding us behind grinning smiles, that if anything happened to Levi, we would automatically be involved in the family.
I mean, they did laugh and say, “We’re joking! Look at your little faces!” when Sunny went deathly pale. But there was definitely truth behind their words.
Being Levi’s friend was… challenging at first.
Tom and I were in his room studying for finals, and an alarm went off, flooding Levi’s room in red light.
I had zero idea where it was coming from, but it locked all the doors and windows, forcing the Costella residence into temporary lockdown. Levi didn't seem fazed, casually mentioning his parents were taking care of it.
He had a whiteboard set up in his room, and was standing in front of it, cramming all of our textbook notes into one easily digestible drawing.
Levi wasn't just smart.
He was Ivy League smart, so we had struck gold with him.
His family were questionable, and yes, sometimes I did fear for my life, but as the more time we spent at his house, the Costella household became a second home. We got used to the alarms.
I just brought along ear plugs.
I wish I was writing this post about Levi’s family, and sure, they are a factor in what is going on right now, but I want to preface this by saying the events below involve the 2024 scholastic decathlon final in our town with the school’s listed:
Starbrook High School.
Ratcliffe High School.
Please note, the incident that took place last night was immediately covered up, and all phone footage was destroyed. Our town is mostly out of the way, and does not show up on Google searches.
We also have our own version of the academic decathlon, which is a more town-level competition, due to lacking funds. The four of us were desperate to start competing with our schools.
So, we started taking things a little more seriously.
We got a coach.
Mr Hanes, who was hesitant at first.
In his words, “You will hate me as your coach.”
He started by recruiting more members, announcing, “If you want to be taken seriously as an actual club, then I'll be taking the reins from now on.”
He did, and with our teachers guidance (and sometimes brutal honesty), we reached a level where we could start competing with other school’s in town. Now, none of us knew this, but Mr Hanes was obsessed with winning.
So, club meetings were twisted into two hour study sessions with no talking, followed by Mr Hanes Jeaprody, which was Jeaprody, without the actual fun.
We were quizzed multiple times, answer cards and practise questions quite literally thrown directly in our faces.
I hate to admit this (I really hate to admit this) but Mr Hanes’s tactics worked. Sure, we had been mildly brainwashed by our slightly unhinged coach, but with Levi Costella, we destroyed our competitors. Like I said, our town held their own version of the academic scholastic decathlon, but it was pretty much the same, with some changes.
Ten subjects. Language and Literature, Math, Social Science, Economics, Art, Music, Interview, Speech, and Essay.
Unlike the official Decathlon, ours was more like a game show, with the ability to be knocked out if a team member answers a question wrong. Whoever answers the most questions correctly wins. Team meet ups were either tests, study sessions, or quizzing each other.
Which leads me to last night.
The finals were held in the reigning champions, Ratcliffe High School’s, auditorium.
And we were about to win our town’s Scholastic Decathlon 2024 Championships.
Well…I was knocked out in the music section. Standing next to my coach who I was sure was going to asphyxiate from excitement, I could smell the sudden potent stink of lemon. I tried to ignore it at first, but the more questions my team were answering correctly, the smell got worse, suffocating my senses.
This wasn't just lemon. The stink was like a burning, singing smell trickling into my nose and the back of my throat.
It was stronger than what Alex smelled like.
This was suffocating, drowning my thoughts.
“Are you okay, Cassandra?”
Mr Hanes nudged me when a Ratcliffe girl was struggling to answer a question, only for Sunny to jump in with the answer. “You look quite pale.”
I nodded, forcing a smile.
My gaze was on the Ratcliffe coach, a scary looking blonde woman, whispering in one of her student’s ears.
The Ratcliffe kid freaked me out. He was way too tall, dark blonde hair, and bulging eyes I swear were not blinking.
His gaze was glued to Levi, who wore a smug grin.
There was a smaller girl next to the Ratcliffe kid, a Macbook balanced on her knee. Every so often, he leaned into her, the two of them in deep conversation.
“I'm just nervous.”
I jumped when Ratcliffe scored a point, their side erupting into cheers.
During the break, we had a mini team meeting.
Sunny rushed to the bathroom to freshen up, and I noticed a Ratcliffe girl with a bouncing ponytail following her.
Ignoring our coach’s speech, I joined the two girls in the corridor, that lemony scent hanging thick in the air.
I caught them in an awkward position.
The Ratcliffe girl had her fingers pinched between the material of Sunny’s dark blue shirt bearing our school’s name.
Sunny looked confused, her lips parted like she was going to yell.
Ponytail dropped her hand, suddenly, with a nervous laugh. “Oh! I'm so, so, sorry,” she gushed. “You had, like, the biggest spider crawling on your back.”
Sunny caught my eye, shooting me a reassuring smile.
“Thanks.” She made sure to keep her distance. “Uh, where's your bathroom?”
The Ratcliffe girl nodded down the hallway. “It's just down there. I'm going there too if you want me to show you?”
Sunny motioned for me to go back to the auditorium. “Uh, sure! That'd be great!”
I did try to follow them, only for Sunny to cough loudly.
I took the hint, reluctantly heading back into the auditorium.
My team was hyping each other up, Levi in the centre, sweating through his team shirt. He ran a trembling hand through his hair. “I can't do this,” He groaned. “Ratcliffe High is known to play dirty, man. They're unbeatable.”
“In what way do they play dirty?” I asked, joining them.
Levi gulped down water, shrugging.
“I dunno! They're already trying to distract me with the stink eye.” The boy narrowed his eyes at a grinning Ratcliffe kid who, after noticing our stares, jumped to his feet, waving at us.
“Hey guys!”
“That's Harry Cartwright, the son of the Cartwright family who tried to kill my parents in the third grade.” Levi mockingly waved back. “As you can see, their kid is a fucking sociopath.”
Huh. I wasn't expecting the smiley kid to be the mobster’s son.
Harry Cartwright was not what I expected.
Unlike his team members, he was the only one in casual clothing, a short sleeved white shirt and jeans, a pair of sunglasses perched on top of his head.
Tom went pale.
“Fuck.” He hissed. “He’s one of you? Then those bastards will have a reason to play dirty, right?”
Levi shrugged, averting his gaze. It was the first time I saw his eyes darken, like he was subtly telling the boy to back off.
“The Cartwright’s have been trying to buy our land for a while,” he muttered. “I wouldn't put it past them to use the Decathlon as a way to attack.”
“Attack?!” April, another member of our team, hissed. “Like, attack attack?”
Mr Hanes grabbed the boy, resting his hands on Levi’s shoulders. “Ignore them,” he said. “Hey. Look at me.”
Levi did, raising a brow.
“You're losing that spark in your eye, young man.”
“Spark?”
Our coach nodded. “Look at me, kid.”
Levi rolled his eyes. “I am looking at you, Mr Hanes.”
The man was shaking. I was guessing his whole career (or coaching career) was on the line.
“They know they're losing, Mr Costella.”
Hanes shook the boy, squeezing his shoulders. “You are being positive and Ratcliffe doesn't like that. They want you to be nervous. They want to make you second guess yourself and lose confidence. Don't let them get into your head.” he smiled, giving the boy a playful shove. “Kick their asses.”
“Exactly!”
I didn't realize Sunny was back from the bathroom.
The faint smell of lemons had followed her. I noticed a wet patch on her shirt collar, though she was quick to smile at me, admitting she'd spilled water down herself. Sunny wrapped her arms around Levi, squeezing him into a hug.
She hung on for a little too long, Tom dragging her away with a laugh. “Good luck, all right?” she backed away, ruffling his hair. “We’ve got this!”
When I hugged Levi good luck too, I had to resist covering my nose.
The smell of lemon was unbearable, just like fourth grade Alex.
But it wasn't as potent as earlier.
I vaguely remembered the smell starting to fade once Alex’s body was being carted away on a stretcher.
Following my captain through the crowd, I was right. The smell was less suffocating. Before he went back to the stage, I grabbed the back of his shirt.
The material was soaking wet.
“How are you so wet?” I said, swiping my hands on my shirt.
“Huh?”
I shook my head. “Never mind. Do you remember what I told you in sophomore year?”
Levi settled me with a confident, but nervous smile. “Thaaaat you're scared of clowns?”
“No. I mean the boy who smelled of lemons.” I gritted out.
Levi surprised me with a laugh. “What are you talking about?”
Something ice cold trickled down my spine.
Levi did know what I was talking about. He brought up my stink sense a day earlier in front of his parents, and I had to cover his mouth to shut him up.
Leaning close, I whispered in his ear. “You stink of rotten lemons.”
He nodded slowly, pulling away. “Uh… thanks?”
I bit back a hiss of frustration. “No, you don't understand what I'm saying–”
“Starbrooke High School,” The host announced. “Can all members please return to the stage.”
Levi held up his hand for a high five.
“Can we do this later?” He winked. “I'm kinda busy carrying this spelling-bee on my back right now.”
I nodded shakily, high fiving him, and letting him jump back onto the stage.
Before his words hit like a tidal wave, ice cold water slammed into me.
Spelling Bee?
Slowly making my way back to the stands, Levi’s mistake was circling around my head. He did win a spelling bee, but that was in middle school.
Thankfully, the smell of lemons was gone when I returned to my seat.
Mr Hanes handed me a soda. “Chill out, Cassandera, it's just a game.”
He could talk. The guy was on his fifth coffee.
Mr Hanes was not chilled out in the slightest.
Surprisingly, the event went well. I was half expecting my team to be crushed by the rafters, or caught in a blaze started in the crowd. But we were doing well. No, we were winning.
Reaching the climaxing round, Sunny choked against a smug Ratcliffe boy, joining me on the sidelines.
Levi answered the next question with a confident smile.
We were winning, but Ratcliffe could still catch up with a miracle.
The second to last question was to Ratcliffe, and it was general knowledge.
”Where on the human body would one find the *orbit?*
I knew the answer, and so did Levi, his lips breaking out into a smile when the Ratcliffe boy was hesitating, eyes wide.
Our school’s buzzer went off, Levi slamming his hand down.
Bzzz!
The host turned to our team. “Starbrooke, can I have your answer?”
Levi nodded, shooting our team a victory grin.
“It's…!“ He opened his mouth to answer, his jaw slackening suddenly.
The boy’s shoulders slumped.
“Uh… “
“Um…”
“Huhhhhh…”
Levi inclined his head, blinking, his eyes glazing over. There was a sudden, hollow vacancy that sent chills down my spine. It was like someone had reached into his skull, and yanked out his brain, leaving a shell in his place.
To my confusion, our team captain frowned at his buzzer like he'd never seen one before. He pressed it, exploding into child-like giggles.
Bzzz!
The audience laughed along nervously.
Tom nudged me. “What the fuck is he doing?”
Bzzz Bzzz Bzzz!
Levi’s entire body was slumped, his hand slamming down on the buzzer.
I caught something pooling down his chin.
“Is he… drooling?” I whispered.
Mr Hanes looked mildly horrified. “Has he been drinking?
“Levi?” Tom spluttered. “Drinking?!"
Whatever we were watching, however, was definitely influenced by… something.
Bzz. Bzz. Bzz. Bzz. Bzz!
“Young man, that is not a toy!”
The host wasn't amused. “Starbrooke High School, I need an answer from you,” He nodded to Levi, who was pressing the buzzer, his smile growing.
“Once again,” The host backed away, like Levi was contagious. “Where on the human body would one find the Orbit?”
Levi cocked his head, lips parted.
His gaze found the overhead lights, and he winced, his lips curling into a frown.
“Starbrooke High School!”
Levi jumped, tipping his head back and blowing a raspberry. “Palm tree?”
The audience laughed, and I started feeling nauseous.
Across from us, I could see the twist of a smirk on the Ratcliffe coach’s lips.
Bzzz! Levi slammed the buzzer again giggling.
“Starbrooke High School, if your team member continues to act like this, I will be forced to disqualify all members.”
Our captain stopped, gaze glued to the host, his hand creeping towards the buzzer, like it was a big red button.
The audience loved it, laughing like they were watching a sitcom.
“He wouldn't.” Tom whisper-shrieked.
The auditorium was silent for a moment, awaiting Starbrooke’s response.
Levi stuck out his tongue, slamming his hand down.
Bzzz! Bzzz! Bzzz! Bzzz! Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz–
When Tom dragged Levi away from his podium, a Ratcliffe girl hit her buzzer.
“Starbrooke High School, you are disqualified,” the host announced. “Ratcliffe High School, do you have an answer?”
It was Ponytail who nodded with a grin.
“The answer is the eye socket! The Orbit is part of the eye socket!”
“That is the correct answer.” The host was distracted, his eyes glued to Levi.
“Ratcliffe High School wins.”
Levi jumped when the Ratcliffe wide erupted into cheers.
His eyes were wide, clinging onto the buzzer for comfort.
Next to me, our coach looked like he was going to faint.
I barely noticed Ratcliffe’s victory, too busy watching our team captain, who was Harvard bound, tipping his head back and smiling at the ceiling like a new-born baby. Tom dragged the stumbling boy over to me, his mouth twisted.
“This was Ratcliffe, right?” He hissed, shaking our captain, who was struggling, squirming in his grip.
“Did they put something in his drink?!” He prodded Levi. “Hey! What did they do to you?!”
Still, though, drugging his drink didn't make sense.
Levi never left the auditorium, and kept his water bottle with him the whole time.
How did they even manage to slip something into his drink in the first place?
Did I smell our competitors drugging him?
Sure, intentionally inebriating my teammate was morally wrong and illegal, but why could I smell lemon?
“I doubt it was Ratcliffe.” Sunny squeezed next to me. “I've been watching them. They're harmless.”
“Then how the fuck do we explain this to his parents?!” Tom whispered, grappling with Levi, who was fighting to get back to the buzzer.
When Tom let go of him, he dropped onto the floor, crawling over to his podium. It was like watching a child.
Who was determined to piss off the adults.
Levi jumped back to instead feet, his gaze was glued to the host, a smile curved on his lips, when he slammed the buzzer again.
Bzzz!
“Someone, please remove the Starbrooke boy from the stage!”
I was embarrassed, our whole team ducking our heads as our captain was forcibly removed from the podium.
Mr Hanes grabbed Levi, pulling him off of the stage.
I expected our coach to be mad at him, but I think the teacher was more worried, a phone pressed to his ear while he forced the boy into a sitting position.
No, I don't think it's influence from alcohol, I could hear his conversation.
Levi kept trying to get up, mesmerised by the buzzer. The teacher was firm but gentle. “Hey. Sit down, all right? Keep still.” He went back to his phone call, gently prying Levi’s eyes open.
From what I can see, there's nothing wrong. He's just kind of…
Mr Hanes swiped his own hands on his jeans. ... wet?
Team Ratcliffe came over to rub it in our faces, though I was still tuned into our coach’s hissed whispering.
Water? No, I don't think it's water. It smells… no, I haven't told his parents…
“You guys did awesome!” Ponytail's voice was sugary sweet. Too sugary.
She held the 2024 trophy, bearing a satisfied smile. I noticed the Ratcliffe members were surrounding Harry, like guards.
“Better luck next time, okay?” She held out her hand, her eyes twinkling.
“No hard feelings?”
“Control your dog.” Harry said, amused eyes flicking to Levi, who was once again sprinting back to the fucking buzzer. His eyes had visibly darkened, lips curled into a triumphant smile.
Harry Cartwright was watching Mr Hanes chase our team captain like it was his own personal entertainment.
I had to look away before I died of second hand embarrassment.
“What did you put in his drink?” Tom demanded. “Weed? Edibles?” the boy attempted to shove Harry, only to be pushed back. “What the fuck did you do to him?”
Harry’s smile didn't waver. “Like I said. Control your mut.”
When the Ratcliffe team walked away, our red faced coach struggling with Levi, who was behaving progressively more erratically, informed us we were longer welcome inside the school.
Tom suggested calling an ambulance, but our coach was hesitant.
We all knew who Levi’s family were.
On the way out, Tom matched my stride. He was frowning at our team captain struggling to walk.
The way he was acting was already eyebrow raising.
But walking at an angle and being unable to stand up straight was worrying.
“I don't think they drugged his drink.” Tom muttered.
We pushed through the doors out of the school, and I revelled in the cool night air grazing my cheek. “If they did, he would be acting out of it, right? So, what's the deal with him acting like–”
“A child.” I finished for him.
“Yeah.” Tom leaned closer. “Do you think this has something to do with their turf war?”
I slapped at a bug creeping across my cheek.
Levi fell over again, this time bursting into giggles.
“Almost definitely.”
Levi was right about Ratcliffe playing dirty. I didn't realize how dirty until we were on the losers bus home. Levi was in the seat next to me, and the kid hadn't moved since we left Ratcliffe, his eyes wide, lips pulled into a dazed grin.
Bzzz!
The noise startled me from slumber. I was drooling, my head pressed against the window. Outside, the sky was pitch dark, and squinting through the glass, I couldn't get a bearing on where we were. I thought I was hearing things, but when I sat up, I heard it again.
Bzzz!
It was close.
Leaning over the boy, I glimpsed a smear of scarlet on his headrest.
I choked on my next words.
“Tom.”
Tom was in front of me, listening to music.
He didn't reply, his head of dark blonde curls nodding to the beat.
“Levi.” I managed to get out. I prodded him, and his head lolled into his shoulder. “Hey. Can you… sit up?”
Bzzz! Bzzz!
When the boy didn't move, I gently grabbed his shoulders and pulled him forward myself, something contracting in my stomach.
I don't know how long it takes for your mind to fully register something, but my body was already reacting.
Levi’s seat was infested with bugs, eating their way through the upholstery. I was aware of my body moving back. I threw up, instantly, screaming into my hand.
The back of my best friend's skull resembled a deflated soccer ball, what was left of his brain leaking from his skull where a swarm of skittering bugs chewed their way through brain tissue, metallic legs scratching the curved, pearly white of the base if his skull.
Levi’s head hung, his body flopping into mine.
But his eyes were still open, lips still stretched into a smile.
Blood ran in thick rivulets from his nose and ears.
Bzzz!
I could see them, black writhing dots alive in his eyes, wriggling movement under his skin.
“Tom!”
I jumped up, stumbling into the aisle, my stomach heaving.
And it was only when I was on my knees, swiping bile from my lips, when I realized the others weren't reacting.
Tom wasn't moving.
I pulled an Airpod out of his ear, a long, slithering string of pink attached to the end.
There was a stray bug skittering across his hand, his face starting to twitch and writhe.
Moving back, I checked myself over, my hands shaking.
Head.
Shoulders.
Hair.
Clawing through it, my breath was stuck in my throat.
Arms.
Legs.
Feet.
Mr Hanes was slumped against the window, a reddish froth bubbling from his mouth.
Sunny.
I started towards the back of the bus, but all I had to see was her bowed head, half of her skull chewed through.
Sunny was in a far more deteriorated state, her face had been ripped through, a skeletal smile glinting in the dim.
The thick black smear on the window next to her was moving.
When I screamed for the driver to stop the bus, he ignored me.
If anything, he stamped on the gas.
I moved forward to shake him, before glimpsing a bug creeping down his face.
Calling 911, the operator laughed at me.
“Bugs are eating your friends.” He said. “Do you know the penalty for calling with bullshit pranks?”
The bus didn't stop, so I stayed at the front, while the bugs took over the back, eating through my teammates.
After four hours, I risked leaning over the seat next to Tom to check on Levi.
They were eating him.
Chewing all the way through skin, muscle and bone.
I tried to stop the bus, but the driver’s hands were tightly wrapped around the wheel.
Another hour, and blood was seeping down the aisle, crawling with bugs.
Levi was gone, and in his place, a buzzing skittering pile of bugs, that I thought were going to move to a second victim, maybe burrowing into the seats.
But, no.
These things began to tremble, replicating.
Building.
Slowly, nothing became static, and static became muscle.
Then bone.
Then flesh.
When a body began to slowly form, moulded from the dead boy, I stumbled back.
These things weren't eating Levi Costella.
They were rewriting him.

Edit: I'm still on the bus. I'm 99.9% sure that I'm infected with whatever this thing is. I can't stop fucking itching.
I keep picking them off me but they won't stop. This bus isn't going to stop until I'm like the others.

I can feel them chewing into my skull. They're in my ears. I keep spitting them out. Please, someone get them off of me. Help me. I don't want to die at 17.

Still alive. Still breathing. Maybe they're leaving me alone????? I think I'm okay. There is a pile of bugs at my feet, but they're crawling off of me.

Levi really wants to go home. Like, he just told me he REALLY wants to go home. He's got a gift for his parents.

The bugs are not finished building him yet, but he'll be ready soon.

Feeling bothered and need someone to bring me back down to Earth.
Partner can hold his liquor, when he has a business trip, I would go with him since lodging is paid for. Several times, on the trips he would go out drinking with his coworkers. I do remember one of these times years ago, I was very upset because I didn't know my parter would be out so late and was getting worried when he wasn't back until after midnight. Once he came back, he stumbled to the bed and then passed out.
The next morning, I told him how upset and worried I was that he didn't text me at all the entire evening and I had no idea where he was or if he'd be safe. He said not to worry and he apologized because he was in an underground bar and didn't have signal. I told him he needs to let me know next time.
Now, most recently, he went on a business trip where I tagged along again. This time, he had mentioned he'd be hanging out with his coworkers. He texted me 8pm showing me he the food he was eating with his coworkers, and I let him know I also finished dinner and was heading back to the hotel. At 10:30pm he texted that he's "lit". At 11pm, I responded to let him know I brought back some leftovers for him to try. At 12am I asked a question about an unrelated topic. By now, I was peeved he wasn't back yet with no updates but had a feeling he's probably going to stumble in at 2 or 3 so I might as well just go to bed. While I'm asleep, at 2am he texted me another time repeating that he's "lit".
Then I wake up to the noise of him coming into the hotel room. He announces that he has food from a halal cart he's been mentioning that he wanted to try. I was grumpy he'd woken me up. I let him know how upset I was that he didn't text all night, then he apologized and kept insisting I eat the halal food even though I'm not hungry at all and wanted to sleep. He seemed upset that I didn't want to try the food since he said he waited for it for 30 minutes. I saw he got two boxes, one of the box had plastic spoons in it, where he said he had tried a bite from that one. I grabbed one spoon and took a few bites from the other untouched box. Meanwhile, I was trying to explain to him how upset I was and how I'd also brought back food for him to try that I wanted to hear his opinion on. He fell asleep while I was talking to him.
Next morning I wake up and see a new Google photos on my phone. We have a shared album where photos are added if it detects our faces (since we take many photos together or of each other). He must have set his to add *any* photo with himself, not just of or with me. I saw a new photo and thought it was me and him who took a selfie, but then I don't remember taking this photo. The girl did not have the same color hair as me. My bf and this girl are together smiling, her face was a couple inches from his shouldeface where she's in the middle of laughing and they both looked very happy. Looked like a cute couple's photo.
I immediately show him the photo and ask who that is, he laughed and said that's his coworker and that he was so drunk that he doesn't remember taking that photo. I'm surprised he's treating this so lightheartedly because everything about the photo's existence was bothering me.
Long story short, I kept asking him about the girl and what he was doing, in which he said he forgot and doesn't remember where or when he took the photo. It sounded like he was with other coworkers too, but I didn't understand why he'd only take a selfie with this one person and not with the whole group, and how it'd be awkward for other people to watch them take a photo like that. I continued questioning and thinking about this photo. Later that night, I ended up looking at the metadata of the picture. It was taken around 2am, at the halal cart. So that means he went to go with this girl to get the halal food together. Zooming into the photo, I see the halal bag and the girl is holding a spoon. So one of the spoons might have been used from her? I'd like to mention that this woman would have fit "his type", in my opinion, though he disagrees.
Apparently Google has a location tracking timeline, which he showed me, and basically after hanging out with his coworkers, he _might_ have asked who'd want to go get halal food with him, in which he ended up walking for 30 minutes with this woman to the halal place. They waited there for 30 minutes, they both tried it and he snapped a selfie. Then he walked her back near her hotel (he didn't go inside because Google would have likely mentioned that he stayed there for some time), and then walked back to our hotel.
Now, the thing is that I'd never expected my partner to be someone who'd do anything to cheat on me, especially since he's been emotionally cheated on before. However, it's been really bothering me that he doesn't remember being with the girl coworker at all. All he remembers is being at the halal cart to order food, then back walking to our hotel. It's concerning that he just somehow forgot the entire time he was hanging out with a whole other person. I decided to calmly let him know how it hurts me and how next time he can't let himself get to that state again, to which he agreed. He admitted the photo was inappropriate and he shouldn't have gotten to a state where he didn't remember who he hung out with or what he did, he repeats that he'd never do anything "like that" or wrong me.
The issue is that he has another upcoming business trip, I'm not able to attend with him since I have other obligations. I know I can't control anyone in this world, but I'm worried he's going to do something that'll hurt me again (consciously or not) behind my back. Logically, I should just let this go and trust that he won't go overboard again. My preference is that he doesn't drink with his coworkers since I don't understand why it's necessary but he insists that he wants to/will have to. And I tell him that I would have had more trust if he had been able to show me that he's able to drink with his coworkers and be in control, but the last several times this played out the opposite way. I'm not sure how I should deal with this situation, since I know I'm going to have the same feeling of worry as I was back in the hotel room, except now for the first time instead of worrying about his safety, I'm worried that he's going to be hanging out with another girl and will forget about it again (?? feels bizarre I'd ever be thinking this).
I don't want to be someone who even needs to worry about this stuff, and I understand that he has the freedom to choose to drink if he wants to. I'm worried that he's going to go overboard again and I'll just never know what ended up happening because I'm not there. Sometimes I think of how if I never saw that selfie, or if he never took it, then we both would have never even known that they hung out.. and that I would have never known that my partner would allow himself to let a girl get that close, even for a photo.
For context, we're in a long term serious relationship and this is someone who I do envision seeing myself marrying. I don't think this is something big enough for me to break up with him over, but it does make me question his maturity and reliability when it comes to free and unsupervised drinking.
TLDR: I'm worried and don't trust that that my partner can keep in control when he goes out drinking with his coworkers. What do I do or how to handle this feeling for his upcoming business trip?

One concept about the nature of the alleged UFO cover-up is that there exist quasi-governmental/quasi-corporate based clandestine cells sometimes described as “the control groups.” According to this proposition, these secret networks are keeping a lid on the UFO challenge by working behind the scenes to maintain what has been called “the UFO truth embargo.” This has involved a sophisticated psychological warfare program directed at the population in the form of a de facto policy of ridicule and denial.

Given that these control groups have also been working to reverse engineer UFO technology for over seven decades, it is conceivable that they have made significant advances. The extreme secrecy concerning such breakthroughs might have created what UFO historian Richard Dolan has called “a breakaway civilization.”

In 2017, a new openness on this subject has been allowed by elite power concerning this potentially destabilizing issue. This started with corporate media revelations about a secret Pentagon project studying UFOs. Since then, former, and current government officials have confirmed the reality of what are now called UAPs. Full disclosure of information about flying saucers is not what is happening. Instead, there has been an intensification of what non-human intelligence analyst Grant Cameron has called the US Executive Branch’s “gradual acclimatization program.” This involves allowing a mixture of some accurate information as well disinformation on this still highly classified subject to be released publicly. Why do might the rich and powerful oppose an ET presence? The following are just a few of the reasons.

1.What we call flying saucers can apparently fly circles around “top gun” jet fighters, thereby showing the military to be impotent in securing terrestrial airspace.

During ancient times the so-called aliens may have played a role in establishing all the major faiths. If the masses of believers on our planet started to accept this possibility, then it would threaten the power and influence of organized religion.

3.Alleged ET “free energy” generating/propulsion systems if downloaded into our technological culture under conditions of world peace would threaten the largest industries on our planet, the empires of oil and coal.

In my opinion, the rich and powerful take great efforts to maintain a self-image that is an illusion of strength and invulnerability. An extraterrestrial presence could certainly challenge this self-image and the very concept of human sovereignty.

But what makes the control groups most afraid I suspect is that if UFOs are controlled by ETs, the alleged aliens don't seem to want anything. They often simply appear in the sky for a few moments and then disappear. This behavior transmits the simple-minded message, “Hello, we are here."

ET beings, as far as we know, are not engaged in mining operations on Earth. They don't play the stock market to get rich. They usually flee when approached by military jets. From the “control groups” point of view, I imagine that the alleged ETs appear to be immune to the usual bag of tricks that the super-rich use to keep the rest of us in line. Maybe the “ETs” scare the control groups because unlike politicians they can't be bribed or blackmailed. It is hard to shoot down UFOs and they don't seem too troubled by all the bad publicity they get from Hollywood alien invasion fantasies.

SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT MIGHT BE ESSENTIAL FOR OPEN CONTACT WITH ADVANCED CULTURES.

The attached photo mime of a man walking with a small child in a forest suggests to me the following. Perhaps what we need on this planet is a simpler type of existence, one that allows us to be closer to nature. As in the image, walking in a beautiful forest might be far more fulfilling than the race to acquire wealth, power, and the mountains of things that our consumer culture tells us that we need. Thus, the man walking with a child in nature can’t be controlled because he wants nothing beyond a simple existence. I am suggesting here that the alleged ETs might want no things as well, placing them beyond the control of the ruling classes.

From my understanding of the spiritual teachings of Eckert Tolle, consciousness is no thing. It is an awareness that allows us to be awake and be aware that we are awake. It is infinite in its scope and universally experienced but can’t be defined by words. The ego however can be defined. According to Tolle it is a mind structure that is obsessed with form, both material things and thought forms. Identifying with form compels the ego to enhance itself by always wanting and sometimes getting more. For many of us this means more money, fame, sex, and for the ruling classes more control over others.

SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT COMBINED WITH PROGRESSIVE POLITICS MIGHT BE THE KEY.

What happens when more of us reject this plane of existence that the Buddha reportedly called "the nightmare of the day”? What happens when millions of us say the message of oneness that is promoted by all the major faiths applies to what for many appear to be technologically and spiritually advanced ETs operating here on Earth?

Well, I imagine you get a change in the mass consciousness that could facilitate getting rid of the control groups and the oligarchs that they serve. "Peace on Earth and in the Cosmos!" can be the slogan to link the UFO presence to achieving planetary unity based on principles of peace and cooperation. In my opinion, this can only happen when we embrace universal consciousness. That is not only our potential link to every intelligent being in the universe via telepathy, but also to the fabric of reality itself.

If consciousness is “no thing”, then those of us that ultimately identify with universal consciousness, rather than with the ego, can’t be controlled either.

In a vision I had in Carlsbad Cavern, I saw the Earth as being like a beautiful woman that was full of life and proud of her creations. Our mother, the Earth, has the capacity to regenerate life on her surface despite the onslaughts of many epochs of extinction. This has been true in the past and will continue for hundreds of millions of years.
We are not destroying the planet. In a sense this notion is yet another expression of our incredible hubris to proclaim that we can. She will do just fine in the long run. I have been posting this blog periodically for several years and I believe you are the first to ask "how such a radical transformation might occur?" Successful evolutionary movements typically achieve results over long periods of time. The tyranny of repressive ideologies, such as forced onto the masses by the feudalistic Catholic Church in Europe, was worn down by a series of developments that spanned centuries. The Protestant reforms that reflected the growing strength of business classes in combination with the scientific revolution created a new kind of society. In that pluralistic environment the Church fathers could no longer dictate their "truth" to the masses. In the former Soviet Union, it took just 70 years for a police state regime to fall apart. Unfortunately the Putin regime has reestablished many of the controls that existed under communism.
Our civilization is probably facing an existential crisis in the form of global warming and resultant climate change. Young people all over the planet are realizing this and they are starting to march demanding action. The problems we face cannot be solved by nation states, so some kind of just world government will hopefully replace what UFO Researcher Stanton Friedman called "the tribal warfare" waged by "Earthlings." Although opposed vigorously, especially in so called "red states", meditation is starting to be taught in some public schools. I have an antenna tower that I would like to make free standing, like this. The tower is going to hold my Starlink dish which needs a clear view of the sky, which is the reason for the odd location, it is the only reasonable spot in my yard where the cord will reach with the least amount of trees cut down.
My question is how much concrete (or how deep and wide) would I need to dig and fill to make this tower free standing. I would like to dig the hole, however deep and wide, put drainage gravel in the bottom, and encapsulate a section of the tower in concrete. Preferably, I would rather rather not use guy wires due to proximity of underground utilities although I will if I have to. My other problem is I cannot refer to any manufacture specs on the tower because I got the tower used (a new tower costs around $1,000).
The tower sections are two 10 foot sections and one 7 foot section (which will be placed in the concrete). The sections weigh 35 pounds. The vertical and horizontal pipe is 1 1/4th inch with a thickness of 5/64th inches. I do not have any soil tests, but I would imagine there is 1 to 2 feet of soil followed by clay (my frost depth is 24" if that helps). I have already spoken to my local government and I was told I would not need any permits as long as the project is under $500, which of course it will be ;)

During ancient times the so-called aliens may have played a role in establishing all the major faiths. If the masses of believers on our planet started to accept this possibility, then it would threaten the power and influence of organized religion.

In my opinion, the rich and powerful take great efforts to maintain a self-image that is an illusion of strength and invulnerability. An extraterrestrial presence could certainly challenge this self-image and the very concept of human sovereignty.

YOU CAN’T CONTROL AN ET THAT WANTS NOTHING

But what makes the control groups most afraid I suspect is that if UFOs are controlled by ETs, the alleged aliens don't seem to want anything. They often simply appear in the sky for a few moments and then disappear. This behavior transmits the simple-minded message, “Hello, we are here."

ET beings, as far as we know, are not engaged in mining operations on Earth. They don't play the stock market to get rich. They usually flee when approached by military jets. Their interactions with humans occur under conditions of secrecy. The so-called aliens come to us often at night. Our interactions are predominately mental and typically when we are alone, thus little objective documentation can be acquired during the close encounters.

THREATS OF VIOLENCE, BRIBERY, AND BLACKMAIL DON’T WORK WITH THEM.

From the “control groups” point of view, I imagine that the alleged ETs appear to be immune to the usual bag of tricks that the super-rich use to keep the rest of us in line. Maybe the “ETs” scare the control groups because unlike politicians they can't be bribed or blackmailed. It is hard to shoot down UFOs and they don't seem too troubled by all the bad publicity they get from Hollywood alien invasion fantasies.

Perhaps what we need on this planet is a simpler type of existence, one that allows us to be closer to nature. As in the image, walking in a beautiful forest might be far more fulfilling than the race to acquire wealth, power, and the mountains of things that our consumer culture tells us that we need. Thus, the man walking with a child in nature can’t be controlled because he wants nothing beyond a simple existence. I am suggesting here that the alleged ETs might want no things as well, placing them beyond the control of the ruling classes.

From my understanding of the spiritual teachings of Eckert Tolle, consciousness is no thing. It is an awareness that allows us to be awake and be aware that we are awake. It is infinite in its scope and universally experienced but can’t be defined by words. The ego however can be defined. According to Tolle it is a mind structure that is obsessed with form, both material things and thought forms. Identifying with form compels the ego to enhance itself by always wanting and sometimes getting more. For many of us this means more money, fame, sex, and for the ruling classes more control over others.

SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT COMBINED WITH PROGRESSIVE POLITICS MIGHT BE THE KEY.

What happens when more of us reject this plane of existence that the Buddha reportedly called "the nightmare of the day”? What happens when millions of us say the message of oneness that is promoted by all the major faiths applies to what for many appear to be technologically and spiritually advanced ETs operating here on Earth?

Well, I imagine you get a change in the mass consciousness that could facilitate getting rid of the control groups and the oligarchs that they serve. "Peace on Earth and in the Cosmos!" can be the slogan to link the UFO presence to achieving planetary unity based on principles of peace and cooperation. In my opinion, this can only happen when we embrace universal consciousness. One concept about the nature of the alleged UFO cover-up is that there exist quasi-governmental/quasi-corporate based clandestine cells sometimes described as “the control groups.” According to this proposition, these secret networks are keeping a lid on the UFO challenge by working behind the scenes to maintain what has been called “the UFO truth embargo.” This has involved a sophisticated psychological warfare program directed at the population in the form of a de facto policy of ridicule and denial.

Given that these control groups have also been working to reverse engineer UFO technology for over seven decades, it is conceivable that they have made significant advances. The extreme secrecy concerning such breakthroughs might have created what UFO historian Richard Dolan has called “a breakaway civilization.”

In 2017, a new openness on this subject has been allowed by elite power concerning this potentially destabilizing issue. This started with corporate media revelations about a secret Pentagon project studying UFOs. Since then, former, and current government officials have confirmed the reality of what are now called UAPs. Full disclosure of information about flying saucers is not what is happening. Instead, there has been an intensification of what non-human intelligence analyst Grant Cameron has called the US Executive Branch’s “gradual acclimatization program.” This involves allowing a mixture of some accurate information as well disinformation on this still highly classified subject to be released publicly. The gradual acclimatization program according to Grant Cameron’s analysis has for decades existed in parallel to the coverup.
Corporate, military, intelligence and political power brokers don’t operate as one on this issue. Different factions struggle over the speed at which the limited disclosure will unfold. Nakatanggal lang siguro sa momentum yung summoning technique rebuttal ni BLZR dahil medyo laylay ang pagkakaspit ng kanyang pinalabas.Kung hindi ka talaga preparado, lalamunin ni Bisente ang kaluluwa mo. Ibibigay ko kay Bisente 'to pero kahit sino pwede rin talaga manalo.

9th Battle. Supremo def. Philos. Masyado sila maraming 3rdy references at sa tingin ko na-didillute nito ang kanilang performance kung nagiging center of attention yung kanilang kagrupo. Anyway, wala namang duda na malakas sila pareho at obvious naman na bitbit nila ang Motus brand ng pag-battle. Kahit magkagrupo sila, hindi sila prumeno sa mga bara nila. Kahit sino pwede rin manalo. Tabla 'to para sa akin pero parang natahimik yung crowd nang ideklara na 3-0 Supremo ang nanalo.

Ganun sila kagaling. Nakakapangilabot si Carlito at nakakatakot ang kanyang stage aura. Nahahaluan niya ng internals mapa-Tagalog or English. Si Eveready naman napakahusay mag-rebut at umanggulo. Para magawa nila 'yon sa maikling format, talaga namang handa na sila sa big stage at hindi nakakapagtaka kung makita na natin sila agad sa Ahon. Promo dahil masyadong malakas walang gusto mag-judge.

Emily was walking through the dark corridors of the colony, somewhat upset, now she had to go to the colony's port, the reason? She had to bring the fruit punch, of course no one was going to eat it but they need it because they wanted decoration.
The map she had guide her to the area where human food was stored was, it was a room with special compartment designe to keep most of the food in a state of preservation, even after 20 years, the food would still be like new, that's why Drones wouldn't have to worry about spoiled food taking up space.
"Why do I have to be the one to look for this and it have to be specifically on the far side of the colony?" She complained before stumbling because she had her eyes on the map not on the road, her visor hit the ground, she quickly composed herself to look at what made her fall and at that moment her oil froze, because of someone legs, leaning against the wall was a vipedic creature, with nearly nothing beyond a pair of pants. Instead of metal, its body was made of something of a greenish hue that slowly became paler and paler.

"In case that thing is with the Drones, let me know, while I would like to test the capabilities of that thing on my own, from what we have recorded, the workers drones created a anti-disassembly drone weapon, so if they are with that creature and more of those weapons in the same room, it would be good to be all together so we can win" Z added, to which her companions agreed, shaking their heads affirmatively. Now the three entered through the gap in the ceiling that was never repaired, T and D went towards south, while Z moved towards the vents, before moving much, she received a message from T.
"Hey, apart from exploring, you should build a map of this place while you move through the vents, maybe in the potential case that we fail, other Disassembly Drones can use that valuable information to complete this mission, so they will be here in about a week, the other teams are taking their time and want to give us the first try, and then if we can't, they will all go together."
"Okay, this place is very big so even if we succeed, it's better this way, the worker drones probably have a secret escape route and we can use it to ambush any survivors who try to escape" Z replied to her partner.

".... I'm silly, not blind" N said and then went up, V opened her eyes a little before moving because the chain had been broken for a long time.
Obviously V didn't tell N what the real reason was of why she had such change, if these drones are here it only means that Cyn decided that "something" was outside of her plans and that it had to be solved . So if she finds this "something"... maybe there was a chance that all of this could lead to the key to finally getting rid of that pirated Windows drone. So she decided to cooperate a little with N, yes, she still thinks about at least drinking some of the oil from the drones already killed by this squad to replenish the lost amount and prevent overheating.
Now in the colony, Uzi was being dragged by Lizzy and Doll, they had made her pretty, something that did not go with her programming, although the dress looked good and that, she was uncomfortable wearing it.

"Hey, what did she say? I don't have too many languages installed in my software" said D but was sent flying when a table that was next to him suddenly hit him thanks to a push from Yeva who used the Solver, walking in front from the crowd to fight against the two Murder drones
The three Drone girls were walking down the hallway where Emily found the creature, but none of them couldn't see anything there.
"Well it looks like she's gone so I'm going-" Emily start to say but Lizzy would pull her by the shoulder, the popular one took out her phone and looked for her copy of the facility plans that she had stolen from her dad
"If there is a creature that is not a drone in this place, then it is probably in the area where we kept all the human stuff that we don't need, you know blood tests, some other tools, organic food, water purifiers , etc" Lizzy walked leading now, it took 5 minutes until they felt that someone watching them.

"Wow, this place is very big but I finally caught you big guy, so I'll kill you quickly and have a little snack with those Drones" Z said while turning her hands into claws
"MURDER DRONE AHHHH" Emily screamed before running out to the way she came, Lizzy and Doll left with no other option, knowing that without Uzi's gun or sunlight both would be no match for this one.

I say most because Z's tail was free so she moved it and stuck it in the Mitchell's throat.

Uzi shouted after N and V blew up the entrance, noticing how a whole group of Drones was in a corner taking cover, turning her head a little she can see the Murder Drones, two males, fighting against Yeva, she kept them at bay as best she could, using a railing to block a sword while she jumped back after the block and landed on a table like a ninja.
"Wow, I didn't know that Doll's mom had style" she said.
"What are you two doing? You should help us!" T said when he noticed N and V.
"I'm sorry but we're changing sides, the company we're talking about is a bit silly" said V before changing her hands into claws, which were blocked by T's sword, who used his free left hand to hit her in the side with an electromagnetic pulse cannon launching V a few of meter back.
"Naturally, we are resistant to electromanetic pulses, however, it is resistance, not immunity, the closer you are to the target the more the effects can be felt" said T who predicted N trying to attack him from behind with his sword but the sword was broken by T's chainsaw and then N was pushed by his tail.
Uzi attacks D with a knife lying on the ground but the Murder drone was more agile, blocking it with his left claw while shooting with his machine gun at Yeva who created a shield to deflect the bullets, which D responds by grabbing Uzi with his tail and throw her at Yeva, she intended to catch the purple-haired girl in the air using her Solver but she couldn't, which surprised her, she had to catch her manually, only to be received by a stab, which went through Uzi's side and below Yeva's waist, D had moved at the same moment he threw Uzi using this opening to attack both of them.
D took out his sword from both, letting the slightly reddish colored oil come out of both.
"UZI!" N shouted furiously, moving at full speed towards the them, but Z came out of the ventilation and moved quickly towards Yeva, sending her flying to N so both colling, saving D's neck.
"Sorry for being late, that thing while weak didn't want to die and he made me lose three more victims, hey, why are we fighting with those two?" Z asked to her classmates.

Now everyone positioned themselves, Uzi was bleeding to death but Yeva quickly stood next to her, a strange symbol appeared on her hand closing the wound but not the pain and Khan would take Uzi's arms moving her out of danger.
Yeva stood next to N and V, it was something she hated but she needed the help of these two to win.

But there was something that distinguished them, N never fought with someone experienced, he or J or V never tried to train, they always improvised since they never expected the Worker Drones to fight for their lives with the same equipment, D, T and Z for their part did. They trained, not because the Worker Drones were armed but because they had nothing better to do when it was daylight, they trained combat tactics, managing to hurt each other, and from there they knew perfectly how their bodies worked and their limits.
At one point, D spat in N's face which made him put his hands to his face to remove the drool but he ended up with two less arms and a missile in his head being sent flying.
Yeva detailed her movement with Z, using two knives and her solver to compensate the difference in weaponry, with a move of her hand, Yeva imposes a shield that protects her from the explosions of Z who tried to blow her up with a missile. She summons a knife and throws it at Z, removing her arm. Almost immediately, Yeva removes the ceiling fan from its pole and throws it upright.
However Z was faster, she moved her body to the side, the fan remained stuck in the wall, perhaps if she had attacked horizontally she would have been dead.
With a movement of her tail, she raised her severed arm towards her shoulder, placing it and moving to continue the fight. She changed her arm into a flash grenade launcher and fired them. Yeva tried to block it with a shield, thinking that they were explosive grenades, but she was blinded and disoriented. She was slammed against a wall and immobilized again, this time Z would nail two metal barrels, one in her left arm and the other in her right arm.
"Okay, let's get this over with-" she not finished her words due a brick hit her, she turned around, T and D followed her gaze.
At the door they could see someone almost without nothing if it weren't for a pair of shorts, his skin white as snow as some minor wounds closed, his mouth had a piece of meat frozen before he finished eating it, Mitchell with a ax in his left hand and concrete block in the other he looked at the three Murder drones, ready to end this.

It is no secret that I wrote an OC named Rosie Gates(or RoseRed Gates), otherwise she wouldn't be on this screen. But I've got to break it to you. I can't really decide on a story for her. I'll show you my ideas and et you decide your favorite. P.S, I know you refer to Kris as they/them, but here, we don't do the pronoun game. You're either male or female. No in-betweens.
The Former Red Soul Idea- In this one, RoseRed R. Gates is originally a Deltarune player and got absorbed into the game. There she takes on the body that was promised to her before it was stripped form he forcing her to be stuck with Kris. While she is stuck in Deltarune, she begins to see the characters as people rather than characters. She later got to know Kris and his friends better and even developed feelings for Kris. Kris on the ,other hand, was rather suspicious of her. She reminded him of his former red soul. One, whenever the red soul took full control, his eyes would turn light blue, her eye color. Two, Rosie could play flute and do art, something Kris was doing when he still had the red soul. Plus her multiple sided personality reminded him of that soul in a way. But soon he later he would lose suspicion of her. Because she tried to nuture and make his friends happy. Something he could not recall the red soul doing. He lost the rest of his suspicion when this happened. One day while the gang was off on a raft, Rosie seemed to be gagging as if she was going to be sick. After the team turned to see was the trouble was about, Rosie threw up a light blue soul with some of her blood around it. Kris knew what it was like to be possessed, so he took the light blue soul was going to throw it away, but Rosie took it back and held it close to her. She was a lot more patient with the player because she knew what it what like to be in that player's shoes. That is the Rosie for this story, able to understand both sides.
Paper Trail Idea- If you have heard of the Paper Trail series, you'd understand most of it, if not, than it'd be confusing. In this one, Rosie, plus two boys; Setenta and Ferdinand, were the three students/helpers of the knight who is working desperately to free their people from underground. Their job was to make sure Kris got to where he was supposed to be. Along the way, they grew attached to him and even sympathized a bit. But they still stick with Kris as ordered. P.S, she made a sheep companion for all the Ralsie counterparts. (Ex. Bethel.)
New Girl in Town- In this one, Kris does not get possessed at all by a red soul. Instead he has to put up with the human kid that recently moved into town. Eventually she proved herself to be quite amusing and nice to have around. Although, she was a nerd at times. The type that would read G.K Chesterton while listening to David Archenstone and enjoy it type of nerd. But eventually Kris and Susie introduced her to the darkner world where she got along quite well as their bard. But she grew concerned for Ralsie thinking he'll be lonely while the rest of the gang was away. So she invented Bethel, a ewe lamb mage who is stubborn but sweet and there to keep Ralsie company while the team was away.
The World of Humans- In this one, the entire gang wownds up in a world where monsters did not exist. Just myths and faerie tales. So Kris, Susie, Noelle, Ralsie and Lancer(yes, them too) fall through a portal into a gym. In that gym, some human teens were playing volleyball, a couple were standing by a wall, one was sitting down with what seemed to be homework. Soon that one teen put the homework down indicating she was done and headed on over to the teens who were playing volleyball. The teens notice Kris and his friends and invite them over. They were confused by the "monsters" and darkners and thought they were humans in costumes. Until Kris and Susie confirmed they weren't and were real indeed. These teens help Kris and his friends have a place to stay by setting up forts in the locker rooms. The next day, there's lunch period and some of the teens are annoyed at their leftovers and even more annoyed when one of their friends dumped their leftovers on their tray. Susie then threatens a girl named Rosie into handing over her food to which she replies,
"You could have just asked me."
Soon all the teens in that room were feeding their leftovers to Susie who was always hungry. Some time later it became an inside joke that Susie was the students pet. Rosie even made Susie a necklace that was made of yarn and resembled a collar. Kris had to remind everyone that Susie was not a pet. Sometime later, Kris and his friends went back to the darkner world and Rosie followed after them.
Legion of Souls- In this one, Kris is possessed by a classroom of souls. Sometimes they would fight over what to do next, which made Kris feel like he was being torn in many directions. It was reported that his eyes would turn different colors and his voice would change a little every once in a while. Plus he would be seen playing many instruments, arguing with himself and be doing other things he usually wasn't doing and things he was not good at, like drawing and painting. Kris reported that the only bright side was that these souls could play band. Two Souls- In this one, Kris has two players inside of him. One of them was a dreamer who looked for a fantasy world to explore. The other was someone looking for a world to vent his frustrations with no consequence. These saw Kris as their own body and vessel until Kris ripped them both out. Then they began to realize what they were doing. Soon these souls tried to be more careful. Soon it was less one person being controlled by a higher being and more three conciences living in one. Imagine Kris playing a game and two guys are arguing on both sides and he's telling them,
"I don't need backseat players!"
He tried asking their names, but whenever they tried telling him their names, they would glitch. So he called them soul one and two. Soul one would be kind and concerned toward people. Soul two would be more battle prone, almost like Susie. But when he found out it was Kris he was controlling, he was more aware of things that were real and was less anger prone and more strategic. Soul one liked art, but Kris did not know that. However, after the name incident, the next morning, Kris woke up to find a sheet of paper and a pencil and a drawing on the paper next to him. It was a gate with roses and vines on it. One of these souls could draw. One day he was at the church, and while the preacher was preaching, Kris felt a rage burn inside of him. Soon, without his understanding, he saw himself flipping tables, whipping the ground with a rope and being threatening with a heavy book. He confronted Soul Two after this because he was usually the rage one. Soul Two insisted it was not him.
"I did it." said Soul One.
"No, no. I know it wasn't you."
"No it was me."
"Really?"
"I am usually caring, but if you insult my God with blasphemy, I will rage."
Turns out Soul One took religion seriously. God was not an angel. He was God. What kind of church was that?
Bard's Apprintice- In this one, Rosie was a normal girl from a normal world. Soon, she was whisked to another world. There she ended up becoming the student of a teifling bard. There she learned bardic spells like: bardic inspiration, vicious mockery, thunderclap, ect...
Soon she went back to her own world, grown a little. Some time later, she ended up stuck in Kris's world. Where she grew once more and went on many an adventure. That was also where she learned the bardic spell Siren's Scream. She used it once, but it was confirmed once was enough. Lots of things happened. The only thing that hasn't changed in these fanfics is Rosie's character.

Song 2: Subterranean Siren Song - The hermits delve deep underground and locate the cursed city of Shadow Tech, but the darkness within awakens.
