It used to be that HIPPA a privacy law that applied specifically to health records were absolute including mental health records and could only be violated in the case someone specifically threatened someone else. Now this is being reinterpreted to include "could potentially pose a threat" to themselves and the broader community.
This has lead to HIPPA laws being weakened and no longer appling to the letter agencies who make it accessible by local law enforcement. This has allowed the NSA and FBI to gather all of our healthcare records in particular mental health records and share them with local law enforcement. Any diagnosis you've ever had, the meds you were prescribed and whether you keep up with the refills are being tracked in order to keep us all "safe".
To be clear the above is only a partial conspiracy with conjecture based on known facts that have quitely been agreed upon by the biggest players in the healthcare industry. I don't want to discourage anyone from seeking professional help but the governments penchant for violating privacy laws showed be cause for concern.
My full conspiracy is that this mental health awareness month feels more like a psyop to encourage and nudge more people to talk with a professional and volunteer all your internal mind data to the state. By aggregating all your financial records, social media likes, education and employment history, along with data scraped from sessions with shrinks about your childhood or parents, the government will be able to build a complete and more predictive model of us all. They will be able to speak to our individual wants and needs enabling them to motivate us whenever need be.
Recently there have been dozens of commercials with odd tones directed specifically at minorities to seek counseling. And while this may have initiated by people from that community the state has piggy backed on it in order to close the data gap for the algorithms.
We in the United States live in the most prevasive surveillance state in all of human history. Not the Chinese nor the Russians, but us in the US. But never fear its all to protect you. Maybe....

So I am well into the game and it still hasnt triggered for me. I have interacted with the institute. I am level 57. I have alot of settlements (I have 15 active supply lines, for reference). I even have "Form Ranks" as a mission which I cant adance becuase it says I meed more settlements..
I should have MORE than enough settlements for both missions, frankly. I cant force the game to do anything via "console" like PC players do.
I have also tried a few older tricks from Reddit where I take preston as a companion, head off somewhere, send him home, sleep for 24 hours in a seperate place and then fast travel to him. That helped generate more radiant quests. No luck on Form Ranks or Taking Independence.
I am legit stuck. Any ideas?

So I got into jazz a while back and, being a beginner trombone player, decided to join my local community college's all-ages improv band. Things went pretty well during practice, I learned about permutations, arpeggios, approaching the third and the seventh, etc. I'm no J.J. Johnson, but I could string together a few melodic notes.
Then, tonight, we had our end-of-semester performance. I had three solos, one on Autumn Leaves, one on Cantaloupe Island, and a third on Freddie Hubbard's Little Sunflower. I don't know if it was the nerves of playing in front of a crowd for the first time, but I was really out of tune on my first solo. I thought I had done pretty good, until I listened back to the recording.
The second solo was a disaster. Remember how I mentioned I was supposed to play on Cantaloupe Island? Well, my director called me in on the wrong song, and I got completely caught off guard. On top of that, the flute player soloing before me went over the cut off, leading to me not knowing where we were. This song had a chord change every four beats, which is particularly difficult for me. I played in key and tried my best, but, because I had no idea where we were, I also went over my allotted time.
The last solo, on one of my favorite tunes, wasn't so bad. Most of the song is on a Dm7 chord, which basically means C-major scale for me. But I can't get over how terrible the other two solos were. I feel utterly embarrassed and extremely discouraged from playing jazz. I have a teacher lined up at the end of the month that is a jazz musician, and I usually have really high aspirations (wanting to be the best that I can be), but I really don't know anymore.

Especially since I’m the house I grew up in there are probably close to 1000 CDs from me and my two sisters who grew up in the 90s, so I already got a head start once I pull that stuff from the basement.
I know with records, I need a preamp, the right cartridge, an amp or receiver, carbon fiber brush, a clamp for the records, etc etc. you need stuff to get better sound.
What do you guys need to get the best possible sound from CDs? It’s not as simple as “have a CD player and CDs.” Right?

A few years ago i was looking around on the internet archive and i found this really ubscure album, its called [insane music for insane people vol 1], i'm a hard core music nut and collector and i've never heard of this thing, in the info section the uploader put that its from 1981 but i cant be shure tbh, its about an hour long and consists of experimental and early electronic music, the only weird thing is that i cant find any info about it. Personally i think its older than it says it is because in the info box it says the the music is from 1974-1980? Another thing thats weird about it is its in either japanese, french, or german, not shure, so if anyone can find more info on it i'd like to know. if at all possable could anyone get some info about how much its worth and where the uploader found it and stuff? plus it would make me feel better if someone does so i can say someone else has heard of it or something. if any one wants to check it out its on discogs here https://www.discogs.com/release/307057-Various-Insane-Music-For-Insane-People it says its from belgium and has been reissued on cdr in 2005, the original looks homemade cause its on a c60 tape, it also says it was released on sandwich records. It says that theres a guy called alain neffe from insane records that edited vol 1 through 26 witch were released between 1981 to 2013 so i want to know more about the original creators of these tapes and who alain neffe is as well.

2024.05.14 06:56 coldking2024 Lego dimensions retrospective, & The dlc levels that felt a little weak, & annoying areas with glitches other issues.
Having spent a few dozen hours in the game & menu loading a save file that had 230 gold bricks……. I realized how frustrating this game was and the potential it could’ve had. I just am at a loss for words on the game. This game had SO MUCH POTENTIAl but had too much focus on the toys, & bugs or game breaking engine problems.
I haven't touched dimensions in a hot minute but.. really wish lego added more PATCHES before they shut down the game & wish it got its own remastered lego game without the toys…. or some version with a % meter & better save system…. Feel like if TT worked longer on it, they could have been better fixes with the game & the other lego ip dlc’s.
I noticed a few times HOW ANNOYED I was when my many save files from 2019, 2023, & 2024 all were gone….. on ps4 I just gave up caring and was disappointed even after completing it & saving the game to my console. so furthermore after I just stopped playing, not sure if this is a bug but was annoying.
Starting with the dlc's i noticed things felt off like each dlc was the weakest or too short for a game entry story, or more specifically the simpsons one recreating the episode with homer & the chilli cook off, of all the new story levels it was fun but felt weird. All the other lego film games got it down very well gameplay wise so, why not do a lego batman movie or a lego simpson's game? & have it's own game... instead of dimensions? ALSO THE PUZZLES THE COLOR PUZZLES THE KEYSTONES all annoying. DOING THEM EVERY DAM TIME I GOT SOOOOOO BORED… decent game, fun worlds, annoying locking content in it and no 100% to finish. Only letting the player use a character…. That was Dedicated TO THAT SPECIFIC world locking you out… is annoying also cant access mini-kits without said character… This is not fun TT…. but moving on to a few other things, did not care for switching the keystones, and using vehicles for every dam puzzle or ramp.
The best level was probably fantastic beasts & that could’ve & should have been added in its own lego Hogwarts FB saga game.
I enjoyed the lego ninjago game more then I thought I would, & the first lego movie game was cool just felt weird they put Lego Batman movie in dimensions vs its own separate actual lego game.
The movie scene cutscenes for each dlc were recreated in the dimensions in-game engine & had a fun charm to them. But at times was very disappointing as the quality difference is very noticeable. On the contrary, The LEGO Movie Game used movie cutscenes beautifully and it worked out really well. Could be a licensing issue, but if not I have no idea why they didn’t just use movie cutscenes where they could. I understand not wanting to release 60% of the movie in the game, but they could always shape it around the scenes shown in the trailer. The batman story pack felt like devs rushed it…. Not bringing actors back for discount va’s. Robin sounds like a kid in this dlc not anything like Michael cera. I can understand if they didn't get every one back for the game for rights or contract issues but just was weird. & newt or the FB story were interesting using new keystone & magic abilties. The ghostbuster ones were weird since I never cared for the movie..
There are a few differences like In the dlc levels, Batman is picked up by Alfred outside the power plant and heads directly to Commissioner Gordon's retirement party. In the film, he heads home and the retirement party is the next evening.
Some of the voice work is off. Many characters don’t sound like they did in the movie (I know they’re different VA’s) Alfred sounds nothing like movie Alfred (Ralph Fiennes), Robin sounds nothing like movie Robin (Michael Cera), etc. Other LEGO projects have had fairly good voice replication.
The LEGO Batman Movie expansion is all and all a success. It’s given us the best portal base so far, as well as the first expansion to give us 2 mini-figures which are both great. The game is great and funny as well as a decent length. The game only suffers from occasional bugs and terrible voice acting.
Maybe I just really disliked the keystone puzzles but I was really disappointed in it overall. The scenes were funny bringing in joker & all the villains, I enjoyed seeing the gremlins & agent smith from matrix & sauron’s eye but wish they made a lego Batman game not within dimensions.
If you want to play around in the LEGO Batman Movie HUB world you can access to the HUB world for maximum fun. Id say just try the hub level if you are interested but I felt bored with the lego batman movie game dlc levels. Sadly its REPLAY-Ability was a 5… compared to fantastic beasts and others.
imagine what they could've done with a full roster of batman's villains & heroes in a full open linear game with gotham, & sure we've had tons of batman games but just loved will arnett's version of batman. I really love will arnett so felt like dimensions needed more of that batman.
Too much clutter & focus on building vehicles when they aren't all that interesting or useful…. Switching from the ecto car to the ghost trap each time felt stupid. Even tho they fixed it in 2016 with the characters instant traps. Flying characters freak out when you are next to the edge of the map & fall off repeatedly or just stand there hovering… did NO ONE THINK about patching that?
I also understand this is not a typical lego game & the audience is for kids but at least try to juggle both demographics for those who dont want to waste time?
No percent on gold bricks collected, or the items…. Why couldn’t they added a save system where if you lose your file you can save & quit with the bricks you found why is it on ps4 ps5…. Somehow deleting the game doesn’t remember where you left off?? Was this a patch that they never fixed?
Also, anyone else find it weird that the courtroom from Ghostbusters 2 isn't in the world? They even have the whole Titanic, something that only appears for 30 seconds in the movie, but one of the most important scenes isn't in the world at all or hell adding more side characters or locations why not explore inside of a building?
Also X-PO talks too much, every line of him talking during hints. I've made the choice to leave the main campaign unfinished just so he can stay silent while I play other levels. In the actual campaign and cutscenes he's fine but they made a huge mistake making him react to puzzles.
The bugs and lack of polish ruin the game..massively this is a massively outdated engine and the more they keep adding to it the buggier the games get. I'd love to see a new one built from the ground up for next gen capable created of anything they can think of with some impressive graphics. When you look at the fidelity of ratchet and clank on PS Pro there's no reason this game can't look as good as the Lego movies or very close, it's just laziness and greed (lack of investment from WB wanting to just churn out content quickly on the old engine) even on ps4 its annoying losing your save file deleting the game then reinstalling It AND LOSING ALL YOUR PROGRESS!!!!
So many boring hubs, & races locking variety or enjoyment, too many hubs that had New York…ghostbusters 1980 New York, ghostbusters 2016 New York……. FB New York…..Lego Batman movie Gotham hub just looks like New York.
Characters like the witch newt Gandalf all have the same magic ability, not interesting since they all do the exact same thing.
The vehicles are very boring, not very interesting too small. Why is chima here??? Random moments that just feel weird the battle arena was fun but after a while I got bored.
Also, I kinda wish there were in game unlockable characters: Like if you bought the Sonic dlc, beating quests would unlock the ability to buy Amy, Tails, Shadow etc. or The Simpsons allowing you to buy Marge, Lisa, maggie or each of the ghostbusters, etc. with studs.

I am very upset dimensions wont ever be remastered added with better patches because what I had played felt muddied & not crafted well. I haven't touched dimensions in a hot minute but.. really wish lego added more PATCHES before they shut down the game & wish it got its own remastered lego game without the toys…. or some version with a % meter & better save system…. Feel like if TT worked longer on it, they could have been better fixes with the game & the other lego ip dlc’s.
I noticed a few times HOW ANNOYED I was when my many save files from 2019, 2023, & 2024 all were gone….. on ps4 I just gave up caring and was disappointed even after completing it & saving the game to my console. so furthermore after I just stopped playing, not sure if this is a bug but was annoying.
Starting with the dlc's i noticed things felt off like each dlc was the weakest or too short for a game entry story, or more specifically the simpsons one recreating the episode with homer & the chilli cook off, of all the new story levels it was fun but felt weird. All the other lego film games got it down very well gameplay wise so, why not do a lego batman movie or a lego simpson's game? & have it's own game... instead of dimensions? ALSO THE PUZZLES THE COLOR PUZZLES THE KEYSTONES all annoying. DOING THEM EVERY DAM TIME I GOT SOOOOOO BORED… decent game, fun worlds, annoying locking content in it and no 100% to finish. Only letting the player use a character…. That was Dedicated TO THAT SPECIFIC world locking you out… is annoying also cant access mini-kits without said character… This is not fun TT…. but moving on to a few other things, did not care for switching the keystones, and using vehicles for every dam puzzle or ramp.
The best level was probably fantastic beasts & that could’ve & should have been added in its own lego Hogwarts FB saga game.
I enjoyed the lego ninjago game more then I thought I would, & the first lego movie game was cool just felt weird they put Lego Batman movie in dimensions vs its own separate actual lego game.
The movie scene cutscenes for each dlc were recreated in the dimensions in-game engine & had a fun charm to them. But at times was very disappointing as the quality difference is very noticeable. On the contrary, The LEGO Movie Game used movie cutscenes beautifully and it worked out really well. Could be a licensing issue, but if not I have no idea why they didn’t just use movie cutscenes where they could. I understand not wanting to release 60% of the movie in the game, but they could always shape it around the scenes shown in the trailer. The batman story pack felt like devs rushed it…. Not bringing actors back for discount va’s. Robin sounds like a kid in this dlc not anything like Michael cera. I can understand if they didn't get every one back for the game for rights or contract issues but just was weird. & newt or the FB story were interesting using new keystone & magic abilties. The ghostbuster ones were weird since I never cared for the movie..
There are a few differences like In the dlc levels, Batman is picked up by Alfred outside the power plant and heads directly to Commissioner Gordon's retirement party. In the film, he heads home and the retirement party is the next evening.
Some of the voice work is off. Many characters don’t sound like they did in the movie (I know they’re different VA’s) Alfred sounds nothing like movie Alfred (Ralph Fiennes), Robin sounds nothing like movie Robin (Michael Cera), etc. Other LEGO projects have had fairly good voice replication.
The LEGO Batman Movie expansion is all and all a success. It’s given us the best portal base so far, as well as the first expansion to give us 2 mini-figures which are both great. The game is great and funny as well as a decent length. The game only suffers from occasional bugs and terrible voice acting.
Maybe I just really disliked the keystone puzzles but I was really disappointed in it overall. The scenes were funny bringing in joker & all the villains, I enjoyed seeing the gremlins & agent smith from matrix & sauron’s eye but wish they made a lego Batman game not within dimensions.
If you want to play around in the LEGO Batman Movie HUB world you can access to the HUB world for maximum fun. Id say just try the hub level if you are interested but I felt bored with the lego batman movie game dlc levels. Sadly its REPLAY-Ability was a 5… compared to fantastic beasts and others.
imagine what they could've done with a full roster of batman's villains & heroes in a full open linear game with gotham, & sure we've had tons of batman games but just loved will arnett's version of batman. I really love will arnett so felt like dimensions needed more of that batman.
Too much clutter & focus on building vehicles when they aren't all that interesting or useful…. Switching from the ecto car to the ghost trap each time felt stupid. Even tho they fixed it in 2016 with the characters instant traps. Flying characters freak out when you are next to the edge of the map & fall off repeatedly or just stand there hovering… did NO ONE THINK about patching that?
I also understand this is not a typical lego game & the audience is for kids but at least try to juggle both demographics for those who dont want to waste time?
No percent on gold bricks collected, or the items…. Why couldn’t they added a save system where if you lose your file you can save & quit with the bricks you found why is it on ps4 ps5…. Somehow deleting the game doesn’t remember where you left off?? Was this a patch that they never fixed?
Also, anyone else find it weird that the courtroom from Ghostbusters 2 isn't in the world? They even have the whole Titanic, something that only appears for 30 seconds in the movie, but one of the most important scenes isn't in the world at all or hell adding more side characters or locations why not explore inside of a building?
Also X-PO talks too much, every line of him talking during hints. I've made the choice to leave the main campaign unfinished just so he can stay silent while I play other levels. In the actual campaign and cutscenes he's fine but they made a huge mistake making him react to puzzles.
The bugs and lack of polish ruin the game..massively this is a massively outdated engine and the more they keep adding to it the buggier the games get. I'd love to see a new one built from the ground up for next gen capable created of anything they can think of with some impressive graphics. When you look at the fidelity of ratchet and clank on PS Pro there's no reason this game can't look as good as the Lego movies or very close, it's just laziness and greed (lack of investment from WB wanting to just churn out content quickly on the old engine) even on ps4 its annoying losing your save file deleting the game then reinstalling It AND LOSING ALL YOUR PROGRESS!!!!
So many boring hubs, & races locking variety or enjoyment, too many hubs that had New York…ghostbusters 1980 New York, ghostbusters 2016 New York……. FB New York…..Lego Batman movie Gotham hub just looks like New York.
Characters like the witch newt Gandalf all have the same magic ability, not interesting since they all do the exact same thing.
The vehicles are very boring, not very interesting too small. Why is chima here??? Random moments that just feel weird the battle arena was fun but after a while I got bored.
Also, I kinda wish there were in game unlockable characters: Like if you bought the Sonic dlc, beating quests would unlock the ability to buy Amy, Tails, Shadow etc. or The Simpsons allowing you to buy Marge, Lisa, maggie or each of the ghostbusters, etc. with studs.

Little background, played FO4 back when it launched and I loved it. Didn’t play Far Harbor or Nuka World when they released because life/ other games got in the way. With the show out plus the “Next Gen Update”, got the hankering to get back into Fallout 4 and while I’ve been having fun, I can’t shake the feeling of disappointment with the lack of bug fixes despite that being something Bethesda promised this update would bring.
The biggest disappointment: still no fix for “Boston After Dark”. This quest, which is a prerequisite to unlocking the ability to craft ballistic weave for clothing, has been bugged on my save file since the game launched in 2015. When Bethesda announced the Next Gen Update in their post for the 25th anniversary of the series, they announced the patch would include “bug fixes” and I assumed that would include the bug preventing certain enemies to spawn at the rendezvous point in the “Boston After Dark” quest thus preventing progress of the quest. Alas, the patch does nothing for this bug.
Beyond the lack of a bug fix for a pretty important quest, I’m also just disappointed Bethesda didn’t take the opportunity to fix what honestly feels like a pretty glaring omission on their part as a developer, namely a way to mend relations with Preston and the Minutemen post-Nuka World. Full disclosure, one of the biggest things that prevented me from hopping back into FO4 and playing the DLCs prior to now was finding out that playing Nuka World the way it’s intended irreparably damages your relationship with Preston and that even completing the quest “Open Season” doesn’t do anything to fix it. The reason I say that this feels like a glaring omission is that they did put in dialogue that allows you to do this but ONLY if you’ve played Nuka World prior to meeting Preston. So if you were like me (and I assume many others) and played FO4 at launch and played it the way the game is designed to encourage you to do (interacted with the Minutemen, liberated settlement sites, established settlements, etc.) you had already unknowingly shot yourself in the foot if you then wanted to play Nuka World. Like how hard would it have been to get the voice actors for Preston, Nate, and Nora to record a couple lines to add this new gameplay possibility? Plus, from a story perspective, it just doesn’t make sense. The Minutemen serve as the default faction for the player, so they can never be alienated. Preston finds your Nuka World actions unconscionably reprehensible yet he’ll still trust you to run point on the destruction of The Institute, the Minutemen’s most ambitious and sensitive military operation in their history? Doesn’t make sense, unless you could redeem yourself by taking out the Nuka World gangs. Just a couple lines of dialogue of how you the player were infiltrating the Nuka World gangs to turn them against each other (which invariably happens in the Nuka World campaign) and take them down from the inside. Hell, going undercover in The Institute is already part of The Railroad’s quest line.

My advice to anyone looking to find the same would be this:
- Notice a trend of companies that keep showing up in listings? Make a list, check their reviews on Google, then start avoiding them! Invitation Homes (formerly Excalibur Homes), Progress Residential, Main Street Renewal, Tricon Residential, and a few other players have thousands of houses. They notoriously avoid processing applications for homes (like 5-6 week wait for an approval or rejection!) and if you somehow do manage to get approved communication and maintenance work follow through is terrible. Avoid companies like this at all costs.
- Check Trulia, Zillow, GeorgiaMls, Apartments, and Homes .com websites regularly. I spent a lot of time on Trulia because besides saving homes on their once I made an account I could also "Hide" properties from companies like the above mentioned. I also crosschecked RentingGA frequently because it was tied to MLS listings and it also showed the listing company in the preview. I could quickly see if it was an offender like Invitation and avoid wasting my time on that house.
- Cross-check listings!!!! Find a good one on one site but it just lists a name and number but now company for the listing agent? Google it. Chances are the address will give you a search result of a listing with 3 or 4 other credible websites like those mentioned above. The first place you find the listing may not say who the listing agent is affiliated with, but the 2nd one might.
- Still don't find that an agency tied to that name? You might be in luck!!! That could be a private owner. Next, try and find the property owner through county ownership and tax records. Go to this website to look up Cobb County Tax Assessor Records You can look up Fulton County Assessor Records here You can look up Dekalb County Tax Assessor Records here. Enter the address on these sites to search, and see who shows up on the ownership record. Does the company name or personal name match their contact info on the listing? BINGO!!! this might be a private owner! To go a step further, you can click on the name or company name and it will tell you how many properties are associated to this person or company. I verified my soon to be landlord this way, and it showed that he owns 2 other properties in Cobb County.
- DO target listings by local or known national real estate agencies. Keller Williams, ReMax, and Home Smart appear to list homes for clients, and they may manage them too, but they are not nearly on the same scale of property management as Invitation or Progress for example. Twice I talked to Home Smart RE agents that were listing homes they actually owned and were renting out themselves.
- Take a chance on listings that show LESS information. Find the ones that don't look like a bad buzzword stuffed sales pitch. Find ones that don't name a company with the listing agent name. Check out listings with vague info or pics further. It might not look like a polished real estate ad because they aren't a polished real estate agent or property management company.

I’m sitting here listening to the OJ stream, where he is reacting to the stage channel, and it made me think. What if there’s some way for the mini team, or supercell as a whole, to bring back players progress if the Supercell ID has clash mini records, say you have Countess with the clowntess skin unlocked, when mini mode is implemented (given its its own thing rather than a crappy game mode) you would have that in mini mode. Just a dumb idea that definitely won’t happen

Final Fantasy VI has been widely regarded as one of the greatest JRPG’s of its era and quite possibly one of the best installments within its own franchise. Final Fantasy VI had great 16-bit graphics along with in-depth storytelling with a steampunk setting. In terms of protagonists Terra was arguably one of the better main characters within the Final Fantasy series along with the likes of Cloud Strife, Tifa Lockheart and the Gullwings. The plot involving Terra and her battle against Kefka Palazzo and Emperor Gestahl along with the Empire was one of the better Final Fantasy storylines of the 90’s decade. Themes surrounding revenge and overthrowing oppressive an establishment is what added to the appeal of Final Fantasy VI. The 90’s decade was about rebellion for the most part and Final Fantasy VI was a game that in someways reflected that. The gameplay features including Active Time Battle system along with players having the ability to customize their characters with weapons and accessories added to the overall quality of Final Fantasy VI. Final Fantasy VI ended up being one of Square Enix’s better JRPG’s from the Super Nintendo era along with the likes of Chrono Trigger, Dragon Quest VI, Dragon Quest V and Secret of Mana. The musical composition of Final Fantasy VI was also something that added more life to Final Fantasy VI. The music in Final Fantasy VI was considered to be one of Nobuo Uematsu’s best pieces of work which many believe still stands the test of time three decades later. Final Fantasy VI was a top seller for the SNES reaching over 3.4 million copies worldwide during the mid 90’s. The popularity of Final Fantasy VI eventually lead to the game being ported to other game systems like PlayStation, and Game Boy Advance, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 later down the line. The novel begins September 3, 2006, a Sunday. In "physical time," our reality, Andre Agassi played and lost his final match of his career. Steve Irwin, the croc hunter, would die the following day from a stingray's three barbed venomous spinal blades puncturing his heart. Senator Barak Obama was still denying he was intending to run for President (he would announce in February 2007.) The number 1 song in America and the UK is Sexyback by Justin Timberlake. Egypt warned of Palestinian terror attacks against Israelis vacationing in Sinai. Charlie Sheen turned 41. 200 Taliban are killed in a major battle in Kandahar, Afghanistan. Iraqi leaders announce the capture of the #2 leader of Al Qaeda. Europe's space agency purposely crash-lands a lunar probe into the moon.
In short, nothing, on balance seems to have happened in the world that has any particular world-historical or even US-historical import. Just a day. Even searching back 4 extra days from September 3 - since we are told that the man viewing the art installation is now on his fifth straight day in the museum - nothing all that *important* seems to have happened on any of those dates, the way saying a novel is starting on June 6, 1944, or (obviously) September 10, 2001, or July 16, 1945 or November 22, 1962 would be of course trying to tell us something.
Q: why is Delillo's purpose (is there one?) for telling us this specific date? Why is it important that the man is there on September 3, 2006 watching this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a31q2ZQcETw over and over.
Q: who is the man? Delillo himself? Just a random unnamed character? Is it definitely Finley and Elster who are the two men who come into the room? The description of the older man "long white hair braided at the nape" [p.7, Scribner] certainly seems to suggest it is Elster, described in Ch. 1 as a man "with silvery hair, as always, was braided down into a short ponytail." If it is definitely them, what does it mean they attended a museum show together? Anything?
This is not the first Delillo novel to open with a scene where a movie, and anonymous characters' responses to watching it, is central to the narrative - Players opens with a movie being shown on a plane that is basically a silent movie of a terrorist machine-gun attack on waspy golfers, only accompanied by a pianist (yes a pianist) in the airplane bar filling in the suspense with improvised show tunes - and it is not the first to open with an examination of an art installation - Underworld, after the fantastic baseball game section - opens at Klara Sax's airplane bomber art installation commune. But this opening seems to introduce two characters obliquely, and of course only if you've paid close attention to the description of Elster's hair could you think back to it being him, perhaps.
"The nature of the film permitted total concentration and also depended on it." "The less there was to see, the harder he looked, the more he saw." [p.5, Scribner]
Q:Who is this person watching and why should we care?
Q: Did the opening sequence provide you any insight other than , perhaps, confusion? Something other than "what the hell did I just read?" What? Does your reaction to the opening sequence change when you know (if you did before this post) that the Psycho installation was and is real?
Moving on to Chapter 1 [p. 17, Scribner], we learn that we are on Day 10 of a 12-day period of time that relates the initial relationship between Elster and Finley. Finley, who is probably in his early to mid-30s and 73-year-old Elster are spending time at Elster's house in the desert to record a one-take movie of Elster's testimony of what it was like to serve in an administration that went to war under less than honest circumstances.
Our narrator is Jim Finley, a documentary filmmaker who has made exactly one film about Jerry Lewis's telethon appearances - Lewis, a "rampaging comic" to whom Elster would merely be a "straight man." [p.27] Elster, who Finley also describes as "not a man who might make space for even the gentlest correction," [p.22] is a non-political theorist being brought in to an administration to provide narrative to their war. I've seen references to him being based on Paul Wolfowitz, the political scientists who became Deputy SecDef in the Bush II Administration who famously nearly swallowed his comb to wet it to comb his hair in an image that likely sealed his fate in D.C. as unserious and ridiculous who was then shuffled off to the World Bank, but would Delillo ape the man AND mention him in the narrative? If so, that seems clumsy.
Q: Do you even take Elster serious as a character or believable as a "brain" behind the narrative of an administration going to war? A man who speaks in bad koans and aphorisms like "Time becomes blind." [p.23] and who reads Louis Zukovsky into the night? (Zukovsky famously worked on an epic poem called "A" for over almost 50 years, finally finishing it a few years before his death in 1978.)
Finley tells us: "To Elster, sunset was human invention, our perceptual arrangement of light and space into elements of wonder." [p.18, Scribner]. Elster has come to the desert to seek - something - we know not what and are not told definitively - but his narrative of what his role was in Washington was to create a interpretation of the "closed world" for the "plotters, the strategists" [p. 28] and ends up delivering to Finley what I think Finley was after - the cynical idea that Elster was giving form and shape to the government's bullshit narrative - "The state has to lie. There is no lie in war or in preparation for war that can't be defended. We went beyond this. We tried to create new realities overnight, careful sets of words that resemble advertising slogans in memorability and repeatability."
Q: Is Elster ultimately right? Did the country have a "shadowy need" [p.34] for such a narrative? See, for instance: "Let's roll." [probably in reality, "Let's roll it" referring to a beverage cart to break into the cockpit.]
"Shock and awe." "Global War on Terror" "Slam dunk" "WMDs" "The Surge" And perhaps most infamously "Enhanced Interrogation Techniques"
At the ends of the chapter, we get what counts as a cliffhanger in this slim novel: Elster's adult daughter would be coming for a visit, Jessie who was "otherworldly" [p. 36].

This is not the first Delillo novel to open with a scene where a movie, and anonymous characters' responses to watching it, is central to the narrative - Players opens with a movie being shown on a plane that is basically a silent movie of a terrorist machine-gun attack on waspy golfers, only accompanied by a pianist (yes a pianist) in the airplane bar filling in the suspense with improvised show tunes - and it is not the first to open with an examination of an art installation - Underworld, after the fantastic baseball game section - opens at Klara Sax's airplane bomber art installation commune. But this opening seems to introduce two characters obliquely, and of course only if you've paid close attention to the description of Elster's hair could you think back to it being him, perhaps.
"The nature of the film permitted total concentration and also depended on it." "The less there was to see, the harder he looked, the more he saw." [p.5, Scribner]
Q:Who is this person watching and why should we care?
Q: Did the opening sequence provide you any insight other than , perhaps, confusion? Something other than "what the hell did I just read?" What? Does your reaction to the opening sequence change when you know (if you did before this post) that the Psycho installation was and is real?
Moving on to Chapter 1 [p. 17, Scribner], we learn that we are on Day 10 of a 12-day period of time that relates the initial relationship between Elster and Finley. Finley, who is probably in his early to mid-30s and 73-year-old Elster are spending time at Elster's house in the desert to record a one-take movie of Elster's testimony of what it was like to serve in an administration that went to war under less than honest circumstances.
Our narrator is Jim Finley, a documentary filmmaker who has made exactly one film about Jerry Lewis's telethon appearances - Lewis, a "rampaging comic" to whom Elster would merely be a "straight man." [p.27] Elster, who Finley also describes as "not a man who might make space for even the gentlest correction," [p.22] is a non-political theorist being brought in to an administration to provide narrative to their war. I've seen references to him being based on Paul Wolfowitz, the political scientists who became Deputy SecDef in the Bush II Administration who famously nearly swallowed his comb to wet it to comb his hair in an image that likely sealed his fate in D.C. as unserious and ridiculous who was then shuffled off to the World Bank, but would Delillo ape the man AND mention him in the narrative? If so, that seems clumsy.
Q: Do you even take Elster serious as a character or believable as a "brain" behind the narrative of an administration going to war? A man who speaks in bad koans and aphorisms like "Time becomes blind." [p.23] and who reads Louis Zukovsky into the night? (Zukovsky famously worked on an epic poem called "A" for over almost 50 years, finally finishing it a few years before his death in 1978.)
Finley tells us: "To Elster, sunset was human invention, our perceptual arrangement of light and space into elements of wonder." [p.18, Scribner]. Elster has come to the desert to seek - something - we know not what and are not told definitively - but his narrative of what his role was in Washington was to create a interpretation of the "closed world" for the "plotters, the strategists" [p. 28] and ends up delivering to Finley what I think Finley was after - the cynical idea that Elster was giving form and shape to the government's bullshit narrative - "The state has to lie. There is no lie in war or in preparation for war that can't be defended. We went beyond this. We tried to create new realities overnight, careful sets of words that resemble advertising slogans in memorability and repeatability."
Q: Is Elster ultimately right? Did the country have a "shadowy need" [p.34] for such a narrative? See, for instance: "Let's roll." [probably in reality, "Let's roll it" referring to a beverage cart to break into the cockpit.]
"Shock and awe." "Global War on Terror" "Slam dunk" "WMDs" "The Surge" And perhaps most infamously "Enhanced Interrogation Techniques"
At the ends of the chapter, we get what counts as a cliffhanger in this slim novel: Elster's adult daughter would be coming for a visit, Jessie who was "otherworldly" [p. 36].

And here’s the most interesting bit about what’s happening at Hollywood right now, there is a DISCONNECT between Hollywood and the CONSUMERS, Major disconnect!!! There are absolute idiots being employed in positions of power, these people have NO clue what the CONSUMER wants. Look at it, when the game launched, was unplayable, and there was clear indication that they were not even BOTHERED about players with MID RANGE devices. Mid range devices are mobile gaming bread and butter, 90% of mobile gamers have MID range devices. Think about this for a second, PUBG and CODM, all can run very smoothly on mid range devices. And they have WAY more players than us here. It would seem that ANY game developer who wants to make a mobile game will focus MAINLY on mid range devices, that’s where the numbers are man, it’s just facts. Any GAME developer would have know this. Why then did ACTIVISION NOT focus on mid range devices. 2 reasons in my opinion, they had their PC and Console developers(you know the big 3) now make a mobile game, and these devs would NOT know much about mobile gaming consumers(big ffffn mistake if they did this). They just have the worst incompetent, uninformed woke fffn idiots in positions of power. People who are just DISCONNECTED from their consumers. I believe it is both, in this age we live in now, where people are given jobs based on their political views as apposed to their actual talent and industry knowledge. This is the great downfall of our society. Because of this, there will always be a disconnect between us the players, and these a$$clowns that call the shots. Mario Kart 8 was an entry that stood out from its predecessors mainly due to its anti-gravity racing mechanic. Mario Kart 8 had approximately 32 different courses and eight cups that players could compete for in the grand prix. Mario Kart 8 saw the introduction of new items along with online multiplayer game with a variety of different vehicle options including go-karts, hand gliders, motorbikes. Mario Kart 8 was quite possibly the best thing Nintendo had going for the Wii-U since it ended up becoming the top selling game for that console. Mario Kart sold more than 8.4 million copies on the Wii-U which was impressive considering the fact that the console was a commercial failure. Mario Kart 8 had around 36 different characters which included the likes of Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Toad, Princess Peach along with many others. The deluxe version of Mario Kart 8 came out for the Switch console in ’17 and it ended up becoming the best selling title for that game system. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe managed to reach over 60 million copies in sales surpassing the likes of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Mario Kart 8 along with the deluxe version are quite possibly the best racing games Nintendo has created. Its going to be very difficult for Nintendo to create another entry that is going to surpass Mario Kart 8 in relation to commercial success. Mario Kart 8 took what Sega did in Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity and did it much better which was impressive while being able to appeal more to casuals. Everything about Mario Kart 8 was pretty cool at the time including the graphics, gameplay, course designs along with players having numerous gameplay options which added to its overall replay value. |

Last played UT in 22 when it dropped free on PS Plus, started again after the game dropped for free again so I’m back checking out this sub for tips, players etc.
My favourite thing about the FIFA community is hearing everyone complain about the game. Don’t get me wrong, the frustration is justified, but why’d you go ahead preordering the ultimate edition every year, only to then complain everywhere that the game that’s trash every year is - surprise, surprise - trash yet again?
Literally hold off for one year, maybe play career mode or literally do anything else, and watch how a drop in sales would actually force them to make changes. But don’t complain if you’re going to participate in record sales numbers whilst expecting them to make changes.

Been trying to report a player for sexual harassment but not only does the player tab in the social menu not work because it doesn't show anybody in my current server, making it impossible to report the player in-game, but the website doesn't appear to work either. When I click on "submit" it just loads infinitely. It's extremely frustrating because when I eventually close out of the tab after about half a hour, I get a notification in "MySupport" that I didn't fill out any information, essentially a blank ticket. Does it have something to do with the attached file? I recorded a video of it and thought it was weird that when I uploaded it, it seemed like it was instantly attached, no upload time or anything.
