Charles: (Off-screen) Once upon a time, there was a glowing city protected by golden gates known as Heaven. It was ruled by beings of pure light. Angels that worshipped good and shielded all from evil. Lucy was one of these angels. She was a dreamer with fantastical ideas for all of creation. But she was seen as a troublemaker by the elders of Heaven. For they felt her way of thinking was dangerous to the perder of their world. So she watched as the angels began to expand the universe in their ways. From the dust of Earth, they created Eve (I couldn't think of a female name that looked like Adam) and Lilian. Equals as the first of mankind, but despite this, Eve demanded control and Lilian refused to submit to her will. He fled the garden. Drawn in by his fierce independence, Lucy found him and the two rebellious dreamers fell deeply in love. Together, they wished to share the magic of free will with humanity, offering the fruit of knowledge to Eve's new groom, Adam, who gladly accepted. But this gift came with a curse. For the single act of disobedience, evil finally found its way into Earth. With it, a new realm of darkness and sin. And the order Heaven had worked to maintain was shattered. As punishment for their reckless act, Heaven cast Lucy and her love into the dark pit she had created, never allowing her to see the good that came from humanity, only the cruel and the wicked. Ashamed, Lucy lost her will to dream. But Lilian thrived, empowering demon-kind with his voice and his songs. And as the numbers of Hell grew, so did its power. Threatened by this, Heaven made a truly heartless decision. That every year, they would send down an army, an extermination to ensure Hell and its sinners could never rise against them. (Charles groans, his paper gets on fire and his hair moves in the air and horns appear in his head)
Eve: Long as I've got your attention, I guess In should probably mention that we made a determination (Shows a contract) To move up the next extermination!

Kallie: It means we are all royally fucked!
(The clock in an hourglass changes to 176 with everyone screaming)
Angela: Wait...What? Why?!
(A drone laser scans a headless body of an angel laying in Hell and Eve and Luther see then from the ship)
Luther: We found the body, ma'am. They've never managed to kill one of us before. We should just go down there now and destroy them!
Eve: No, no. We can't risk them catching on. But don't worry, when we come back, there won't be a demon left to pull a stunt like this again. (Breaks the projector and her eyes and mouth glow in the dark)

May 7th - The tracking number arrived, like a secret code in a spy movie. Leo reassured me he would choose a safe route for my package to avoid any customs shenanigans, like a skilled navigator avoiding stormy seas. The journey of my package began, setting sail from Germany.
May 13th - The items arrived, like long-awaited gifts on Christmas morning. To be honest, I hoped that my package would arrive earlier, but we had holidays where I live due to Orthodox Easter. Everything moves at a snail’s pace during holidays over here, like a sloth on a lazy Sunday!

How to itemize around Blade of the Ruined King (in 14.10)
So, as probably many of you, I am a Blade of the Ruined King enjoyer, I build it pretty much every game in soloQ.
I just love the item, it gives a really complete stat profile and it's specially good into bruisers (with some exceptions) which are normally the hardest champions to outduel 1v1. It also acts as a safety net in case we are behind, because it's damage scales with the enemy lvl and items, so it ensures we are always relevant no matter what.
Now, the item got changed for next patch, and maybe some of you don't know what this change entails.

TL;DR: It's a nerf to the item.
Why? Because 3% current HP damage is simply more damage against almost every target than 15 AD, even accounting for the increase in DPS the 5% extra AS provides. The 2% extra lifesteal is negligible and the slow passive got massively nerfed to proc on the third consecutive hit instead of just the first.
Does this kill the item though? No, because there are a couple "New" synergies you can abuse next patch, and that are probably the reason the item had to get nerfed preventively.

These rune and item combo have insane synergy with Bork.
40% armor pen is INSANE for Bork's passive. The way you make a build scale to the lategame with Bork is to itemize Armor Penetration, because the on-hit damage already scales with enemy HP, so the only counter it has is armor. Armor Penetration is the "Infinity Edge" of physical on-hit damage.
And then since Riot removed Lethal Tempo, we can (and kinda have to) go the new Press the Attack rune, which on proc increases ALL our damage by 8%, INCLUDING the damage from our on-hit effects like Bork's passive.
Now that the synergies are explained, how does a build like this look like in 14.10?
Well, we will start with Berserkers as always, that didn't change, but our 1st item will be the new Navori Flickerblade:

Why? Why not Bork first item? The reason is you need a lot of attackspeed in your first item build path because LT got removed, and Navori's build path is Zeal + Dagger + Dagger, which is insanely good. The item is also really cheap which means you hit a first item powerspike very early into the game, and it provides movement speed which is the most broken stat in the entire game, specially if you understand how to make use of it.
Why not Phantom Dancer instead?

You could go PD instead, for example on Yasuo PD will be better for sure, but Navori reduces the cooldown of all your basic abilities by a lot (yes including Q). For example Yone's W will have roughly 3s CD instead of 6s with Navori if you are hitting someone. Yone's W is broken as fuck, you may not realize how strong it is to have your W that often off the top of your head, give it a try once the patch drops.
Then our 2nd tem will be Bork:

At this point your damage will be insanely high, remember that we also have Press the Attack. At this point there is nothing you cannot kill, bruisers, tanks, you deal a lot of damage to anything, and you still have enough damage to kill squishy targets in 4 or 5 hits.
At this point what we need is survivability, we already have very high damage and DPS, we need some baseline tankyness in order to survive long enough to be able to deal our damage. So our 4th will be a situational tank item:

Jaksho tends to be the most common choice because most teams have a good mix of physical and magical damage, but it's situational, you could go Randuims into crit champs, Thornmail for antihealing, or Rukern against heavy APs.
Last item could vary a lot depending on games, but generally you will want to try and get a Bloodthirster. This version of the item is just too broken to avoid, the amount of lifesteal and the shield are insanely good defensive tools paired with Jaksho's baseline lvl of defense, and 80AD is a metric shit ton of damage.

Some good alternatives are: GA, DD, Scimitar and Maw, but BT should be overall the best, since we are going a very cheap item first, and we are replacing IE with Lord Dominik in this build, which is 400g cheaper, we should be able to get BT last with reasonable ease in games that go for long enough.
Don't upgrade Boots into Zephyr, that is very bait, instead, sell Berserkers and get yourself a PD. it gives almost the same movement speed, but with extra AS, damage and the ghosted passive. Your final 6 item build should look like this:

Lastly, I will tackle a very common question people have when they see a build like this one: "Why no IE?"
The reason you don't go IE here is because it has absolutely zero synergy with Bork, Lord Dominiks is what scales Bork damage, if you go IE instead you will deal less damage to anything above 120 armor, which most champions have in mid to lategame, and IE is way more expensive aswell.
Why no both IE and Lord Doms? because we have a limited amount of item slots, you need an AS item first, Bork second, LDR 3rd, those are your core items, you cannot change them. Then you need a tank item to survive, you cannot skip this either. That only leaves you the last item slot, when you have this much damage already BT is simply a smarter choice, you are essentially trading crit damage for 18% lifesteal and a 400hp overshield, these defensive layers will prove more useful in most cases.

Totally fine build aswell, but you can't really fit Bork in this build, because by going IE 2nd item you mostly want high AD to make use of your crit multiplier, so BT 3rd is best in slot, then you need defense 4th and armor pen last, you cannot fit Bork and wouldn't make sense to replace any other item for it. Also, in a build like this Conqueror should be better than PtA unless PtA turns out to be just broken, cause the AD and healing are great paired with IE.

hi guys been recently looking for an upgrade from my walking dead pixel 4a and I can't decide between a new S21 Ultra or a used S23 The prices are 400€ and 450€ respectively I'm a pretty weird user I could say, I listen to a lot of music, watch twitch/YouTube often and game from time to time mainly stupid not tasking games but some times I like to play some genshin, pokemon unite and newer titles like Solo leveling. That's why I'm kinda concerned about s21's processor I am looking to keep my new phone for around 2 years All in all the +/- of each smartphone in my opinion S21 Ultra: +Screen 6'8 +Camera, battery (?) +S-pen for notes(I'm in college and I find it pretty useful) +build quality +not really lacking compared to the other in day to day use -software updates S23: +processor +everything else probably a little bit better(screen, nits, camera maybe etc) +software updates

Assault Rifles

Submachine Guns

- Pummeler: this is in a good spot imo, baseline weapon powerful, fun but obvious limitations. - Knight: the one gun I have no idea what to do with TBH - Defender: seems fine too, maybe make it hit even a bit harder than the pummeler as it doesn’t stagger. That’s the trade off. Buffing damage obviously takes into account if AR's are buffed to above where SMG's are right now.

Shotguns

- Punisher: baseline, feels fun to use with obvious limitations, hits hard and has good range, staggers like it should. - Slugger: given the slug nature compared to the other shotguns it should be the most powerful single target shotgun, needs stagger back defo. Fun with a mouse and key but hard to use effectively with controller even before the nerf. - Breaker: restore the mag size to launch number, that’d make it baseline again - Breaker incendiary: baseline, great gun right now super fun - Breaker Spray and Pray: I’ve honestly had no need to use this weapon over incendiary.

Marksman rifles

Explosive

- Eruptor: This gun felt really fun and I reckon baseline at launch bar too many mags which may be an actually good nerf balance wise, I never knew about any exploits myself until after nerf but using this with a stalwart had me smiling. Defo keep its bug nest, fabricator clearing ability. Restore its glory! - Crossbow: this puzzled me and was the breaking point for me personally regarding AH’s approach to balance because I thought it needed a buff to compete with the eruptor yet it was nerfed. Should do big damage, basically one shot single med pen targets or spewers on direct hits. Treat more like a specialised grenade launcher with support stalwart as primary, less splash than grenades but great for chargers asses and stripping legs. Increase power and lower velocity I think, make it a skill based weapon. Have it close holes and fabricators and open crates. - Jar 5 dominator: baseline honestly, needs more patience than other shotguns when using to shine due to handling but it does. Let it open crates atleast.
- Punisher Plasma: I need to try it out more but I hear good things post buff, could be baseline. Should atleast open crates but maybe not close holes and fabricators idk - Blitzer: so close to baseline, maybe the arc inconsistencies and the upgrade to chained target applying to it also could get it there. - Scythe: all I can say is with a controller, it’s no fun, hear mixed opinions with mouse and key - Sickle: honestly on cold planets, baseline choice and the ammo debuff doesn’t hurt it there. Outside cold planets it gets tricky but I think that should be it’s unique selling point. - Scorcher: right now, pretty much there baseline wise. - Purifier: Dead on arrival, could be as much fun as launch eruptor if reworked in an interesting way.

Secondary Weapons

- Peacemaker: with a laser sight compared to redeemer I think it’s fair to stay, mainly for ballistic shield builds it has use but also like the liberator reminds you where you started. - Redeemer: single shot, this gun still beats the new verdict IMO for DPS. Baseline on that alone. Fun to spray in a pinch but mag count balances it. Lacks laser sight for First Person Ballistic Shield tho which is a shame. - Senator: Good baseline now it has a speed loader, not a fan of the sights or reticle though but thats me. Also hard to use in First Person with ballistic shield. -Dagger: Like the scythe maybe with mouse and key, better aim, its great for weakpoints on bots but i don't have any fun with it myself. - Verdict: More mags and the laser sight could make it a good Ballistic Shield gun if using in First Person but I also feel just adding med pen armour would just tip it to a baseline choice.

Grenades

Armour Passives

Rather than individual armours I wanna talk about the passives and what new ones could replace the abundance of identical ones.
- Democracy Protects: 50% less chance of getting killed by lethal damage and prevents bleeding from chest haemorrhages. First part is interesting but second part never really noticed myself, fine but perhaps could just be 50% less chance of getting killed by lethal damage and 25% chance for limbs to not break*.* Making this a 'Luck' Style armour.
- Engineering Kit: Reduces recoil while crouching or laying down by 30% and increases grenade capacity by 2. At the moment apparently this effects all recoil regardless of crouching or laying down, which honestly should remain. make it Reduces recoil by 30% and increases grenade capacity by 2. Baseline!
- Extra Padding: Increases Armor Rating. A baseline for new players.
- Fortified: Reduces recoil while crouching or laying down by 30% while granting 50% resistance to explosions. I would change to perhaps Reduce Flinching effect by 30% when crouching or prone while granting 50% resistance to explosions.
- Med Kit: Increases Stim capacity by 2 and increases their duration by two seconds. Baseline, very good passive buffs.
- Servo-Assisted: Increases grenade throwing range by 30% and adds 50% bonus to limb health. Instead of Limb Health, I think the whole passive should be Increases grenade throwing range by 30% and support weapons reloads by 15%
- Scout: Markers placed on maps scan the area every two seconds, reduces enemy detection by 30% Honestly our go to armour right now, baseline, whether because it's working as intended or not.
- Electrical Conduit: 95 percent resistance to arc damage. Almost there honestly but I think adding a secondary would make it more fun, like 95% resistance to arc damage and increase Fire rate of arc based weaponry by 10%

Suggestions for other passives for existing/ future armours

- Feel the Burn: Take 80% less Fire Damage from all sources, movement speed increased while on fire by 20% I could see some intentional self immolation to quickly speed grab samples, finish artillery loading in fire tornados or make an escape from a large group, also a good counter to the Hulk Scorcher. Risk vs Reward.
- Artic Explorer: Reduce movement penalty in deep snow and during blizzard hazards by 50%. More Traction on Ice. I considered maybe giving a reduce detection buff instead but I'd rather just have a scout armour with polar colours.
- Geologist: Samples appear marked on the main map when in 50 metre proximity and sample outlines can be seen through terrain at 25 metres. Shows outlines of dropped sample containers too within 25 metres. When ya hunting specifically for samples this would be a handy set for one diver to bring. Like with scout the marking on map doesn't apply squad wide and would show as blinking dots representing their rarity, green/orange/purple. Could also have a hidden buff that audibly warns being in a meteor shower impact zone.
- Flexible Shoulder Pads: Increase solo reload speed for backpack weapons by 30% and increase melee damage by 50% The main draw here is obviously the first buff, it wouldn't affect non backpack support weapons like the railgun or AMR (The Servo-Assisted reload buff I suggested covers those but less of a buff) but Spear, Airburst, Autocannon, Recoilless etc.
- Analyst: Highlights mission critical objects of interest in 50m proximity through terrain. Enemies and patrols temporarily show as red outlines through terrain when pinged. This is similar to the Geologist perks but instead of samples showing through terrain, terminals/ssd's/launch codes, artillery warheads, valve icons show from further away. Enemies also pulse three times (per 1.5 seconds) allowing you or perhaps even your whole team to get a better view. Extra hidden buff, see outlines of team mates when dropping in.
What do you guys think? It’s pretty clear now that trying to do this monthly content is just not working out, more issues than wins overall not to mention the longer this goes on the more intimidating it is for new players coming in having to spend thousands of super credits to just access the bonds and if they shortcut with real money are gonna feel let down with the lacklustre feeling of weapons and uninteresting new armour as they are now.
The latest war bond seems to be ignoring the last balance update numbers before it, which gives the impression things are too rushed as they are now. so the tenderiser (which doesn't even match the trailer colour wise) and purifier are pretty much dead on arrival. The Verdict feels underpowered with light pen now the senator has a speed loader etc
If this goes on we’re just gonna get more new weapons and armour that seem superfluous and often worse than existing launch weapons with more on the way before existing ones are properly fixed. Bear in mind a lot of players aren’t grinding for these bonds but again paying for them.
I think instead (if possible with Sony terms) the next 3 month gap between bonds should really work over issues with some existing armours and weapons, with interesting effects and unique elements that let them stand out. I think it would be easier holding back new content and releasing it in a massive dump too because the heavy users will unlock them immediately and bring to attention any issues needing a quick fix before the rest of the player base get their first impression spoiled.
The arc resistance to armour was the only real interesting post launch armour passive and it didn't even cover all Weights. Each war bond if remaining as monthly at the very least should introduce a new fun passive effect. Like others have said the Polar Bond giving an armour passive specific to snow planets with a secondary buff to run on ice without slipping would have been a lot more interesting.
The focus of balance now should be no nerfs, only buffs. The best weapons right now are the only fun ones to use ATM, none feel overpowered so make them the baseline.

Hi all!
My third foster (after two very friendly gals) is a 6 month old unsocialized kitten. She was found solo on the street. She spent about a month in a pen in my apt so I could work through socialization techniques, progressed through them well and is now free to roam.
She was never aggressive or hostile, just hissy and skittish, and has only grown sweeter and more interested in a friendship with me. However she has picked up swatting at me only over the last week or so (been about two weeks out of the pen).
It seems the more affectionate she gets the more confused she is, and after a pet / purr / head boop she turns around with a swat. Often with claws. And often it’s when she has eagerly approached me for touch and pets.
What is the correct response to this? Immediately walk away? Give her a toy in place of me?
The affectionate side is so sweet and she’s come such a long way, I just don’t want to create bad habits with her and have the swatting stick around. Need to make this little girl adoptable! Thank you!

Nakapasa ako sa Civil Service Exam Non-Pro last March 3, 2024.
Noon ko pa iniisip na magtake, di ko lang napupush through. Hanggang sa niyakag ako ng kapatid ko mag-exam. Sya na ang nagregister sa akin online.
Nagtake. Nakapasa without expecting na papasa. Ito yung time na masyado akong stress sa buhay, yung tipong feeling ko wala man lang ako napatunayan. Stress sa bills, solo parent, busy sa work, stress talaga sa buhay. Yung stress ka sa buhay na ikaw lang ang nakakaalam. Silent battles na walang kalaban kundi sarili mo.
Walang decent review, nanonood lang ng videos ni NOMO STUDIO pag may time. Nagstart ako manood a week before na ng exam. NOMO STUDIO lang talaga pinanood ko. Ayoko na manood ng iba, masakit na ulo ko.
Friday came, nagsimba. Dala yung mga pens na gagamitin, humingi ng guidance. Saturday, usual routine, pumasok sa work. Late na nakauwi. Sunday, gumising ng maaga kasi malayo kami sa school. Nagsuot lang ako ng red panties kasi wala naman akong red brassiere para terno sana. Nanghiram ng wrist watch. Dumating sa Sta. Cruz, Laguna almost time na.
Inunang sagutan yung mga alam, nilagpasan yung mga hindi masyadong alam. May time pa, binalikan ko yung mga niligtangan ko. Konti na lang oras, nangangamote pa ako sa Math. Hinulaan ko na lang para makumpleto lang.
May 5, 2024. Sunday. Naglipana na sa FB yung "CONGRATULATIONS" post ng mga nakapasa. Samantalang ako, nasa trabaho. Maya ko na kako titignan kasi baka ma-disappoint lang ako. Though hindi naman ako nag-eexpect. Yun pala, na-check na ng kapatid ko ang resulta.

After the Polar Patriots warbond release, I decided it was time look back and review some of the fixes and features Arrowhead has tried to push out. This post is not about the balancing philosophy. It's about Arrowhead's tendency of rushing things out before they've been properly tested or thought-out. Basically I've chronicled all of their previous slip ups to date to paint a picture of how unhealthy it is for the game to be developed this way, as it merely leads to compounding issues and an ever growing list of known issues that only gets bigger with each patch. Let this be a trip down memory lane for my fellow helldivers, and a wake-up call to Arrowhead. I wanna be clear that I love this game and am only writing this up out of passion for the game because I want it to be the best that it can be.

Patch 01.000.100 - March 6th

Eradicate Missions
  • Eradicate missions now require more kills and enemies spawn more often. The time to complete the mission was previously shorter than intended and should now take twice as long to complete.
Notes:
Caused an issue with spawn rates for higher class enemies (heavies, elites) being increased across the board.
Fixes
  • Fixed armor rating values not reducing damage as intended.
Notes:
Was in fact not fixed, and re-addressed in a later patch.
This patch also added the Patriot Exosuit, which it was quickly discovered had a suite of unfortunate bugs associated with it.
  • Rockets fired from the Exosuit launcher may sometimes make contact with the Exosuit’s hitbox and explode, instantly killing the player and destroying the mech. A work around was to not fire rockets while turning or walking forward, as this was believed to exacerbate the issue.
  • The weapons could still be fired while viewing the map, leading to many accidental discharges.
  • The mech was unusually vulnerable to damage, getting one shot by a single rocket from even the lowest tier raider, or a single melee from a Charger.
  • Using a stim while inside the Exosuit crashes your game.
    • After being fixed there was still an issue where using stim while holding a grenade inside the Exosuit crashed the game.
  • The Exosuit’s melee ability was barely functional and didn’t work half the time.
  • The Exosuit would sometimes get delivered in a damaged or broken state, or dropped on a rock high up, such that a Helldiver could not enter it.
  • Enemies would frequently ignore the Exosuit if there was another helldiver nearby.

Patch 1.000.102 - March 12th

This patch introduced a particularly nasty crash associated with having cross-play enabled. I can speak from personal experience that me and my friends were borderline unable to play the game in this period because it was guaranteed all of us would crash at least once, and if the host crashed there was even a bug where they could not rejoin. Thankfully, ensuring all players have cross-play disabled seemed to mostly resolve the crashing.
It also introduced the Termicide Tower missions to the game to tie in with the major order. This mission had an annoying issue that confused a lot of players where if you repeatedly pressed the button to activate a tower, you would cause a near endless series of bug breaches. Many players didn't realize this, and would desperately hurry to re-activate the tower after a shutdown, not understanding that doing so only made the situation worse.
2 days later we also received the Cutting Edge warbond, which had the following issues:
  • LAS-16 Sickle
    Really good gun on release, only issue is not being able to shoot through foliage.
  • Punisher Plasma
    This gun was pretty mediocre on release. It wasn’t plagued by any bugs or major issues, it just needed some buffs to really be worth bringing. The low projectile velocity combined with the small AoE on impact and the inaccuracy made it hard to utilize at medium-long engagements. At the same time, the fact that it did splash damage made it bad in CQC situations as well, leading to an overall very meh weapon.
  • LAS-7 Dagger
    Not necessarily weak, but it was competing with the Redeemer which was just top notch at the time.
  • ARC-12 Blitzer
    Fire rate was too slow, but a very interesting weapon none the less. Trading fire rate and range for infinite ammo is an interesting mechanic.
Overall this warbond was pretty solid on release, and now after some buffs it is undoubtedly one of the best ones in the game.

Patch 1.000.103 - March 20th

Fixes
  • Shots from arc-based weapons, such as 'Blitzer' shotgun and 'AC-3 Arc Thrower' stratagem now count towards "Shots fired" and "Shots hit" stats.
Notes:
Fixed, but introduced a new issue that caused freezes whenever an arc based weapon was fired. This was addressed a week later in a new patch. In the meantime, players could not use arc based weapons.
This patch also introduced the Shriekers, which had the infamous 1-shot ragdoll issue where a dead shrieker hitting you would instantly kill you. They also had an issue where they could call bug breaches. It is unclear if this was intentional or not but it was immediately removed in the following patch.

Patch 01.000.200 - April 2nd

Fixes
  • Heavy and medium armor protects you better and you now take about 10% less damage than before while wearing heavy and about 5% less when wearing medium armor. Fortified commando and light armor is unchanged.
Notes:
This really helped make heavy armor actually feel like heavy armor, but there was still the problem of enemy crits (headshots) making even the beefiest armor feel like cardboard.
Fixes
  • Fixed cases where the ground under some assets could be bombed causing them to float.
Notes:
This still happens.
This patch also infamously introduced the crash on extract bug where every player in the mission would crash after extracting.

Patch 01.000.202 - April 9th

This was the patch that finally acknowledged a series of long-standing issues:
  • Damage-over-time effects may only apply when dealt by the host.
  • Certain weapons like the Sickle cannot shoot through foliage.
  • Scopes on some weapons such as the Anti-Materiel Rifle are slightly misaligned.
  • Arc weapons sometimes behave inconsistently and sometimes misfire.
  • Spear’s targeting is inconsistent, making it hard to lock-on to larger enemies.
It also introduced the Evacuate High-Value Assets mission type, which had a strange issue where red tinted dev boxes were visible on the map, seemingly indicating an out of bounds area. There's also an issue where Factory Striders can peek over the Extraction site and destroy the Generators without ever making it inside the launch area.
We also got the 4th tier ship upgrades, of which 2 did nothing, 1 was partially bugged, rendering half of the new content broken.
  • Superior packing methodology just flat out did not work.
  • Blast Absorption - which was supposed to give sentries explosion resistance - made no difference to the sentries ability to tank explosions. It is debatable whether or not the upgrade “worked” in a technical sense (50% of 0 is still 0), but in practice it provided no benefit to the user, making it effectively worthless.
  • XXL Weapons Bay correctly added 1 additional missile to most of Eagle-1’s arsenal, but mistakenly added 1 additional airstrike missile to the Cluster bomb. Furthermore, the upgrade itself is just kinda weak, as adding a single extra missile to an already massive barrage.
Never mind that these were expensive upgrades and players could only afford one at launch, so imagine spending your hard earned samples on one of the 3 broken ones.
2 days later we also received the Democractic Detonation warbond, which was amazing on release, and only had the following issues:
  • Adjudicator
    This weapon was just really meh on release. Insane recoil and ammo problems made it undesirable. It had decent damage and AP 3 so it was like a harder hitting, harder to control Lib Pen. Unfortunately, it wasn’t quite there at launch and needed some buffs to get to a decent state. Furthermore, it was just insanely overshadowed by the other weapons in the warbond.
  • Thermite
    A really interesting concept for a grenade, unfortunately the DoT bug made it pretty much unusable. However, even with the DoT bug fixed, this grenade still suffers from some issues. For one, actually sticking it to things can be really inconsistent, and that’s a problem because that’s the whole basis for the grenade. The damage also feels inconsistent still somehow, from my own testing I haven’t been able to get a solid idea of how many thermites I need to take down a chargebile titan/tank/hulk, it always seems to vary by quite a lot. I think the execution of this grenade needs some more work still, fans have rightfully pointed out that it would be cool if the thermite weakened the armor value of the spot that it’s stuck to, basically letting players “soften up” a heavily armored part so it can be damaged with a lower pen weapon. This would at least make it so you’re not just running around waiting for the burn to finish and can choose to shoot back to stack damage with the thermite.
  • CE-27 Ground Breaker
    Had the wrong passive on release. Player’s rightfully pointed out that it would have been cool to see some new armor passives, for example fire resistance armor, which would have lined up well with the previous warbond having arc resistance armor.
Unfortunately, after a series of nerfs, this warbond is in an abysmal state, and probably one of the worst you can pick up.

Patch 01.000.300 - April 29th

Balancing
  • LAS-99 Quasar Cannon
    • Increased recharge time by 5 seconds
Notes:
The recharge time was indeed increased, but the UI indicator now no longer matched the new timing of 15 seconds, and would show the weapon as ready to fire still after 10 seconds, leading to some confusion.
Balancing
  • Machinegun Sentry
    • Increased health to match other Sentries
Notes:
Probably worked as intended? The problem with this change is that the Machinegun sentry is literally just an inferior version of the gatling gun, with no redeemable qualities. That just makes you wonder why they would even bother with this buff.
Enemies
  • Hulk Scorcher direct flamethrower damage reduced by 20%
Notes:
This is a strange one. A few patches back when they decided to increase fire damage across the board by 50%, they unintentionally made certain things unreasonably lethal, like the fire tornadoes on Helmire, or the flamethrower from the Hulk. The problem with this change is that it seems to ignore a deeper issue with the Hulk (and “spewing” weapons in general) that causes the 1 frame instakill. Nerfing the damage by 20% does not fix the underlying issue where you get randomly 1 shot from a single stray collision with the fire, which is what players were ACTUALLY asking for to get fixed. I verified that this is still happening the day the patch dropped, and it has yet to be addressed by Arrowhead.
Enemy Patrols
We unintendedly had non-linear scaling of the patrol spawns so they didn't spawn as often as they should have when less than 4 players. The intention is that 1 player has 1/4th of the patrols compared to 4 players, but it used to be that they had 1/6th.
  • Balancing adjustment to patrol spawning.
  • Patrol spawning has been increased when there are fewer than 4 players. The fewer the players the bigger the change. For 4 player missions there will be no change compared to before. The biggest noticeable change will be for solo players at higher difficulties.
Notes:
This change actually fucked patrol spawns even more, instead making it so the patrol spawn modifier is always at 100%, regardless of how many players are in the game.
Gameplay
  • Shots that ricochet from heavy armored enemies will now properly hit the Helldiver who fired them. Trigger discipline is highly recommended.
Notes:
This infamously caused shrapnel from the Eruptor to sometimes ricochet 50m and annihilate helldivers in 1 shot. It was a very rare thing, but it led to some outcry from the community, and assurance from the dev team that it would be fixed in an upcoming patch.
Fixes
  • Fixed an exploit that allowed overly eager Helldivers to use grenades excessively.
Notes:
Not fixed. Before it was possible to have negative grenades, which effectively meant infinite grenades. Now you can instead get an integer overflow giving you 4,294,967,296 grenades. So not technically infinite, but still excessive.
This patch also introduced the bug where the plasma punisher would explode against the inside of the shield generator, making the two unusable together.
Shortly before this patch dropped we also got access to the Airburst launcher. However, Arrowhead unintentionally gave us an old version of the weapon that suffered from a few bugs. For one, the rocket had a weird tendency to burst toward the player, leading to many accidentals. In addition, the proximity trigger on the launcher would trigger off of pretty much any kind of environmental entity, which made the weapon extremely difficult to use without blowing yourself up.

Patch 01.000.302 - May 7th

Balancing
  • R-9 Eruptor
    • Increased explosion damage by 40 and removed shrapnel from the explosion
    • This is to avoid cases in which players would randomly one-shot themselves or their teammates in a huge radius around the explosion
Notes:
As advertised, the Eruptor lost it’s shrapnel to prevent unfair deaths from ricochets. It also received a compensatory buff to make up for losing a part of it’s damage. It was assured that losing shrapnel would not negatively impact the Eruptor, as it played a negligible part in it’s total damage, so gaining 40+ explosive damage would be a net positive for the weapon. This was immediately proven to not be true, as players could tell right away that the weapon had been severely nerfed, having worse breakpoints against pretty much all targets. This whole change was very concerning because it was being sold to us as a "fix", claiming the high damage of the Eruptor was actually an exploit. It sets a worrying precedent where we can't take anything for granted; if a weapon feels strong on release, is it by design or an exploit?
Fixes
  • Fixed issues with some weapon scopes not being aligned in First-Person-View.
Notes:
Not fixed. There still seems to be some issues with alignments on different display configurations, not to mention the HMG is still severely misaligned. It’s gotten better, but it’s not fully resolved.
Fixes
  • The sound when stimming no longer plays while being interrupted
Notes:
Not fixed. It still happens.
Fixes - Firing the Punisher Plasma while wearing a shield backpack no longer damages the Helldiver
Notes: Almost fixed, there seem to still be edge cases where the gun clips the shield.
2 days later we also got the Polar Patriots warbond, which is undoubtedly the worst warbond they have released to date:
  • CW-4 Arctic Ranger
    Another light armor with Scout. Along with just being a recolor of the existing Scout armor, it is a recolor that cannot be mixed with any other item in the game. We have nothing that fits an orange/blue color scheme, which makes it really stand out in a sore thumb kind of way.
  • CW-22 Kodiak
    Another heavy armor with Fortified. You know what would have been cool? A new passive to tie in with the snow theme. For the love of god, the armor even comes with cleats on the boots, which is literally designed to prevent slipping on ice - and you still slip on ice while wearing this armor. Ngl this apple kinda taste like bacon. There is also a general issue for all of these armor pieces that the prefix does not line up with the armor’s passive, adding to the already long list of armor’s with incorrect prefixes.
  • ** CW-36 Winter Warrior**
    Same thing as above.
  • AR-61 Tenderiser
    This weapon is just a worse version of the Liberator, but once you look closer, you start to realize why that is. To start, the armory describes it as being a high-caliber assault rifle with a restrictive magazine but more stopping power. Well, at 60 damage per shot and AP 2, that puts at the exact same damage and AP as the Liberator, which has more ammo per magazine. It does feature slightly less recoil and more spare mags, but when you pick up ammo, you surprisingly get fewer mags back than the Liberator. However all of these oddities start to make sense when you realize this weapon was designed on an older patch of the game, from before they increased the Liberators damage, increased the amount of ammo most guns recover, and lowered carriable magazines across the board. There is more evidence that this is the case, which I’ll get into as we go along. Oh and the weapon also shipped with the wrong color scheme.
  • SMG-72 Pummeller
    The only decent weapon in this warbond, and it’s just a re-skin of the Defender. The stun effect is cool, and regardless of effort, it is nice to have another 1-handed primary.
  • Plas-101 Purifier
    Wow, something went wrong here. This weapon is clearly suffering from some kind of bug because it is a worse version of every single other explosive weapon in the game. Worse than the Eruptor, worse than the Crossbow, worse than the Scorcher even. There’s a theory going around that part of it’s damage isn’t working because the gun reportedly doesn’t track shots fired correctly. So it is possible the direct damage isn’t working correctly, and instead we only get the splash damage. Furthermore, in the trailer for the warbond, they showed this weapon 1-shotting a strider to the face, which got a lot of players excited because the striders had just gotten a buff to their explosive resistance which meant most weapons now needed 2 shots to kill them. And then the warbond released, and the Purifier needed 2 shots just like every other weapon. This only further supports the theory that this warbond was designed on an older patch, from before they gave striders explosive resistance.
  • P-113 Verdict
    My verdict for this weapon? It’s outclassed by the Senator. Again, if this had been the old patch where the Senator still had to reload each round manually, then the Verdict would make a little more sense. You trade a bit of firepower and AP for a larger magazine that can be reloaded at once. However now that the Senator has a speed reloader, the Verdict just doesn’t make sense.
  • Booster: Motivational Shocks
    I haven’t fully tested this booster yet, but from reading other’s experience, it seems like it reduces the duration of slows caused by attacks. That’s a bit disappointing to me as I was hoping this booster would act more as a “cleanse" that triggers when you get slowed and removes it. I guess that would’ve taken more work to implement but it would’ve made for a stronger and more interesting booster in my opinion. And we desperately need some more boosters because right now all I’m seeing is the same 4 every mission. Funny how quick they are to nerf popular weapons but for everything else, they seem to turn a blind eye (disclaimer: I am not asking for nerfs to the popular boosters, I am asking for buff/reworks of the bad ones).
In conclusion, this warbond is the worst one we’ve gotten thus far. It has 2 redeemable qualities, the SMG-72 and the impact incendiary, everything else is not worth it. Not to mention this is the 4th time we get a warbond that has a ton of new animations and they are all victory poses. Why Arrowhead? Why can’t these also be used as emotes? We literally have not received a single new emote since release, it is absurd.

Long standing issues that still haven't been fixed

To close off this compilation, here’s a list of issues that have been in the game since release that still haven’t been fixed, most of which have not been acknowledged by Arrowhead:
  • Spear still cannot lock-on to things reliably.
  • Arc based weapons still sometimes fail to target things, especially if there are corpses between you and a valid target.
  • Scopes are misaligned on some weapons like the AMR.
  • Hulk flamethrower sometimes 1 shots players.
    • This can also happen with bile spewers and bile titans.
  • The bile titan often freezes upon dying, instead of ragdolling into the ground.
  • Enemies ragdolling can sometimes result in glitchy behavior sending them flying. This is problematic as making contact with them in this state can be lethal.
  • Bots can infamously sometimes shoot through terrain and obstacles. This seems to most commonly happen with Devastators due to their ability to track players behind cover.
  • Having a massive dropship crash out of the sky and land on top of the bots seems to rarely do anything besides occasionally trapping them inside the wreckage until it despawns (which they often can shoot through anyway).
  • The stratagem beam still inconsistently tracks sticked targets.
  • The engineering perk that gives 30% less recoil when crouched also applies when standing or prone (don’t change this, just update the description).
  • Thermites very inconsistently stick to things despite that being the whole premise of the item.
  • Exosuits rockets are still awfully aligned with the crosshair
  • 500kg bomb feels inconsistent or the visual explosion feels misaligned with the hurtbox
  • devastators, spewers, and bile titans can fire their ranged attack at unreasonable angles, completely betraying the animation.
  • The terrain around a detector tower is still hard to call down stratagems on.
  • The last input for a Stratagem call-in or chat message is sometimes (or always?) misread as a standard input. This most infamously leads to controller users unintentionally using a charge of their supply backpack when an input sequence ends with “down”.
  • Sometimes for an unknown reason, a player can become unreinforceable. This has happened twice to me personally since release, and the only fix seems to be leaving and rejoining the mission.
  • The limb health bonus from the fortified perk gets overridden by the Vitality booster
  • It's often hard to stand up from prone when you are surrounded, or if you are slowed.
  • Sometimes Pelican-1 leaves immediately when only 1 player enters without starting a timer (I have verified from testing that this coincides with the pelican being on fire, HOWEVER it doesn't happen consistently when the pelican is on fire. This is why I consider it a bug rather than a feature.)
  • If a bile titan dies on top of Pelican-1, there is a chance that it can cause the door hitbox to break, preventing players from entering the Pelican-1 (you can walk around inside the pelican, but your character doesn't sit down).
  • When a weapon is changed, it's armory description doesn't update. Examples include the Eruptor still mentioning shrapnel, or the Liberator Concussive mentioning it has less damage than the standard Liberator, even though that's now no longer the case.
  • Sometimes your camera flies off from your character, leading to confusion about your whereabouts.

Context: I think we can all agree (if not all, then most) that Nick Aldis has been doing an exceptional job as being the Smackdown General Manager since joining the WWE in this role. He feels like a true authority figure that commands respect and doesn't back down, which is a nice change of pace. While I don't want Nick Aldis to necessarily stop being the Smackdown General Manager, the man is only 37 years old and is a very good wrestler himself and I personally would like to see him wrestle at least once (and I would be surprised if he doesn't wrestle at any point during his WWE tenure in real life). For this booking, I want to attempt a story that will go from where we just left off with Smackdown (5/10/2024) and end with his in-ring debut. This will be a long post, so be prepared.

Really want to solo hike the classic Miners / Pyg circular, but I don't drive. I'm down on the south coast and public transport to Eryri in about 6 hours or so, so the plan is to head up one Friday evening, hike Saturday, back home Sunday, and just looking for any hostels / a cheap 2 nights.
I saw there's the YHA Pen-y-Pass option which is unfortunately fully booked most weekends (expecting this to be a common trend!) but happy to stay anywhere that has say an hour's worth of public transport to the start. What are the best towns / villages / specific hostels that have good public transport to the trail head?

I have 5 inexpensive pens for trade, all in the photos. Note I dipped each pen in Noodlers Purple (other than the ballpoint century!), though I wonder if the Century Fountain Pen had some black ink in the feed previously that darkened it. I'm mostly trying to get rid of a bunch of pens that I don't use anymore, and cull myself down to a reasonable handful. Condition on ALL of these I'll rate as a [C], perhaps conservatively. All parts are original, and all show some wear.
Top: This is an unknown pen that I acquired at one point in the past with a carbon fiber body. It takes standard international cartridges. Thread on cap that threads on to post as well. It has a Bock nib of unknown width that has some sort of antelope-like-creature on it. Converter included!
AT Cross Century Ballpoint. This is a stainless/silver looking AT Cross Century. The ballpoint is a little 'scratchy' feeling and comes out really dry. There is no engraving on this pen, and it came in a set with the fountain pen below it. The cap goes on and holds REALLY quite tightly, unlike the fountain pen of this set.
AT Cross Century Fountain Pen. Same as the ballpoint, they came in a set. M nib. The nib on this feels quite nice, and the pen itself is really thin, like the ballpoint. This takes a cross converter, included.
AT Cross Solo Fountain Pen. I'm about 90% sure this is a Cross Solo. Black plastic and gold-colored accents, with a M, likely gold plated nib. This writes with very little feedback, and is a really nice feeling pen. Thread on cap that posts nicely.
AT Cross Unknown Fountain Pen. When writing the paper, I thought this might be a solo, but looking at it, I doubt that is the case. This is a silver accent and black-plastic pen, snap on cap that posts fine, and is reasonably tight. Unknown/unmarked nib, but it is also probably a medium.
TRADES: These aren't really worth selling for money, so I'm hoping to trade these for a variety of inks! I'd prefer a bunch of samples in exchange for all 5, but if you have a couple of interesting bottles, I could be convinced :) I'm really just trying to expand my ink collection at the expense of pens I don't use. I figure the pens are all worth ~$15 each or so, so a similar value in inks for each would be preferred. Obviously 'discounts' if you take a few of these off my hands.
These are all nice feeling pens (perhaps barring the ballpoint) that would be great desk pens, newbie pens, or penabler pens, so if you have people in your life you'd like to penable, this might be your chance :)
As far as flair: I've already done 1 trade here that has been verified (but for some reason my flair hasn't updated?), plus two that I've sent money and am waiting on my package to arrive. I've done quite a few sales on /watchexchange (5 transactions there!) so I hope that shows I'm trustworthy enough.

Hello!
TL;DR I am completely lost and I need your help. I need more of "The Warlock of Firetop Mountain", but with some variety in both mechanics/setting etc.
Background: I played Fighting Fantasy books when I was a child, and I loved them! No computer back then, it was the books were amazing! I still occasionally play something lake that on my phone, or something like "Life in Adventure". It scratches the itch. I like boardgames. I like videogames.
I also used to play old M&M crpgs (like the first ones) and I loved the fact that I need to draw a map with real pen and paper.
I recently backed "Legend of Hexdom" on Kickstarted and I loved the concept, but there is no story. So I stareted researching SoloRPGs and I got lost. There are numerous types, games, mechanics and whatever.
Question:
Is the a gamebook that is:
  1. Has a story. I does not need to be good, but it needs to make sense.
  2. Has choices (both in combat and in the story)
  3. Requires a bit of work but not too much. Drawing a map? Perfect! Keep inventory? Great! Rolling a dice several time for a battle? OK! Subtracting and adding gazillion modifiers from your gear and then applying some special rules, because of the terrain and skills? Nope!
I guess "The Warlock of Firetop Mountain" is almost perfect. But I played it to death 30 years ago, and I believe the must be something modern, right? I different setting maybe? Sci-Fi? Cosmic Horror?
While searching for it I got completely swamped by the choices and amount of research I need to do. Just to realise that I barely make any choices in 4 Against Darkness took me some time.
Is what I'm looking for even exists? Are Call of Cthulhu solo campaigns it? Maybe there are expansions for 4AD that add good story? Maybe there is something else?
Please help me.

First thing's first, here's the weapon wiki, every weapon will have it's default ammo which is vital for long-ranged sniping. Now, onto the actual bulletpoints.
  1. Quit using 1-6x reticle, prioritize 3-12s, 4-16s, you're sniping you should NEVER have to use a scope within 100 meters. [every 1x optics is measured in 100 meters, so a 4x optic would have the maximum range of 400 meters]
  2. Bring a PISTOL, not an smg, smgs silhouette hard on your back even with the stocks removed. Also, familiarize yourself with that pistol just as much as your rifle. It's your lifeline in 100> fights and SHOULD be relied on extensively.
  3. Level Jaegar to 3 ASAP, I prioritize jaegar every Wipe not just for sniping but for shotguns as well. Get him to 3 so the 34mm scope mounts are FAR cheaper, they vary far too much in price beforehand to be a reliable economic choice.
  4. Camouflage is FAR more important that armoballistic protection. You're not fighting, most of your loadout budget SHOULD be used on your rifle. Also, USEC has a major advantage over bear players because their default clothing IS Camouflage. Use a chimera, and a facemask/green shemga, and you'll blend in.
  5. DON'T MOVE, if you're prone in a bush, and you hear a person or two behind you, stay still. People call it ratty, I call it survivalability, I've been seen a handful of times because most [gigachads] play at max FoV and only notice when pixels move. This mean, don't ads, don't switch to your pistol, don't do anything just wait.
  6. Speaking of FoV, I use 100 FoV across every game which is between 68-69 on Tarkov. THIS IS VITAL for you to be able to reliantly gauge distance for sniping outside of using a rangefinder as a crutch.
  7. Rangefinder being mention above, there's no shame in using it, it takes 2-3 seconds to gauge distance for stationary targets which is fine for scavs but players won't give you that luxury. Only use them when you have absolutely no idea, learn to gauge distance ASAP and you'll be a better sniper for it.
  8. Change your keybindings for zeroing, I have a razor Naga x mouse and I have my zeroing on 7 and 8, it makes changing it on a fly FAR more effective and reliable than using page up and down. ALSO, change your focus to SHIFT-CONTINUOUS, this will make it so you don't run out of breath accidentally when change zoom levels.
  9. Pick 2 calibers, not weapons, calibers. 1 for early wipe [mine being .366] and 1 for late wipe [most choose 7.62x54r, I choose .308]. The MPS of the rounds are what matters, the barrels themselves don't come into play AS MUCH as the ammo which will keep you shooting consistently
  10. Early wipe, we're rushing for 4x optics or better rather that be the budget friendly vpo utg scope, or a trijicon. If you dont like the .366, its fine to use an adar or something till you have access to either the flea or prapor 2 for the sniper mosin.
  11. BALANCE means far more than pen, you want to be able to pierce level 4 for helmets, but it's not always required, level 3 is fine if the damage is good enough like .366 EKO. You're not fighting, you're killing, you should never expect to have to shoot multiple times, once should suffice. You're aiming for at LEAST an .80% hit rate with your rifle. Every, bullet, matters.
  12. Don't spam, we're sniping, our positioning and subtlety is VITAL. If you spam fire shots after whiffing one, you will 100% be found within moments. So ONLY take a shot you'll hit, and if you miss it, either wait patiently, or change positions, it's all varies based on the targets view and your location.
  13. Early Wipe, if the ammo you're using is absolute garbage for instance like warmage or geksa, shoot a leg out for a free headshot. Early Wipe no one really ever pre-pains, so a high damage Flesh round will guarantee a kill if you knock their leg out and they can't run. Just pace it for when they're out of cover so you can line a headshot up.
  14. In urban environments, don't stand in windows, stand feet away from the windows which not only silhouettes you less but makes your hit box and angle to be shot far less convenient for both scavs and PMCs.
  15. Don't always go up high, this WILL get you killed. The best sniping angles are the most unexpected, rather it be from stairs, or sandbag kill holes, or even from a random bush. If you're placed up high, you WILL be spotted, and you'll more than likely be flanked and killed.
  16. Be PATIENT, don't run around, we ONLY run when crossing open areas or fleeing. We walk, wait, listen, proceed. Running WILL get you killed, especially if you're solo, which i am the majority of the time.
  17. If you're sniping in a group, don't have 2 people sniping. Be smart about how you go in with friends, 2 snipers = 2 useless guns upclose if neither of you are decent with pistols.
  18. During co-op, don't move together if you're sniping. Play a supportive over-watch role, let your assault loadout player move forward while you cover their back. This is more a lighthouse/woods/shoreline thing because the open spaces vary much more often.
  19. Don't expect to become sniper elite over 200 hours, I'm still rough, I'm not perfect by any means and it's a continuous skill you have to grow. We're not gear reliant like normal players, we can't run max-level armor and weapon pen and just hip-fire things to death. Sniping takes SKILL, Map knowledge, positioning, patience, weapon knowledge, distance engagement practices, the works.
  20. Last but not least, every mil-dot is 100 Meters on most scopes in the game. I personally SWEAR by the Schmidt and bender 3-12, if I zero for 400 with BCP FMJ in an m700, I'll have another 400 worth a mil dots for a total range of 800. That's MORE than enough for any map on this game and some, to me it's THE best scope for sniping in this game. But everyone has their own preference, and this one is mine.
