2024.05.29 04:52 ChainsawDR Anyway to speed curing? Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel
| Hoping for some advice please. Iām making metal trays which are used to place model figurines on that have magnets on the bottom (to stop them moving/breaking in transport). To paint them I use extreme bond primer (1 coat) followed by Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel (2 coats). After ~7 days I thought it seemed cured enough to use but after a couple of weeks the magnets āfusedā to the paint - pic above - they wouldnāt budge and required a heat gun to soften and move them off. (Note: I went away and left the AC off in Florida, so thereās a chance that the room got to 100 degrees F and this was the cause) My problem is that I canāt wait 30 days for a full cure. Are there any options/ways of accelerating the curing time? (Otherwise I guess Iāll need to learn how to powder coat as I believe that cures after 20mins at 400 degrees F). Thanks in advance! submitted by ChainsawDR to sherwinwilliams [link] [comments] |

2024.05.29 03:57 Thin-Employment-2319 I told him I miss him
21 F, he (23 M) still follows me on Instagram. I just realized it was exactly 5 months since we broke up. We've only exchanged messages 2 twice since then (only on IG). The first was to wish me a happy birthday, nothing more. I replied with a thank you. Second, I posted some pics on my story and he replied asking if I now model, I said kinda and asked how he was doing. He said okay and asked me the same thing and I replied saying just hanging in there. Then he sent a DM 2 days ago (funny thing, I was also thinking about him and had a strong feeling that he might message for no reason) He was asking about my story again ( I posted pics from a trip). I should also mention he always views my stories like he is always the first to view my stories. So, I responded with a joke about how he didn't even bother ask how I was doing before asking about my trip. He asked where I went for the trip and I told him. He then responded with haha to my joke and then asked how I was doing. I said fine and asked him the same, he said good. I then replied telling him "I have been missing you". I told him that I just wanted to let him know and it was not a big deal (like I don't want to get back together). He then replied with an "Aw" and a heart emoji. He then said he had been thinking of me and the times we spent together last summer. It was a good time. I still miss him and I knew it was going to be okay to let him know that. He is a great guy and he made me very comfortable sharing my feelings.

2024.05.29 03:19 Tier1_EDC [WTS] A few randos needs re-homing!

Sorry No Trades Today but if you need better pics of something specific or have any questions whatsoever please feel free to ask. Thanks ppl!!š»
Bestech Bihai $35 Used to open a few boxes but never actually carried. Has tiny tiny scuff on the lock side of the blade about 2mm from the tip. Itās very tiny but itās there nonetheless. I barely seen it since doesnāt show up in pictures. But if the light hits it just right then itās visible. I can try and get a closeup if needed but if you do, just ask.
BRS Button Lock Apache $30 Carried a few times but never abused. Factory edge still. Maybe opened a box or two with it when I first got it but it has been sitting on my desk since. I was a huge fan of the original but this one is nowhere near as nice. Itās still a cool little budget blade though. I absolutely love the shape. Pretty decent action too btw.
Civivi Foldis $40 SOLD Brand new and never carried. I did take a few pics of it and flip it a few dozen times. But itās still perfect condition. Nice DD action. Razor thin edge. Love a good Ostap Hel minimalist design. Definitely deserves a good home!
Revo Duo $40 Carried a few times but I used the auxiliary blade more than anything. I wasnāt sure how much I would like that option on it but itās pretty freaking handy I must admit. The inlays on this were tan but I died them black. Price reflects of course. If youāre a Leatherman guy or like utility style blades, then you would probably like this as well. They did pretty decent job with it.
Asher Nomad $80 Carried a couple times but NEVER used. Still factory edge. The omega springs on this one are a tad bit light but the action is superb. I believe it came with a spare set anyway in the box. It never bothered me so I never changed it. But I just wanted to make it clear. Itās definitely one of my favorite Asher Models for a reason.
Kershaw Classic Slip Joint $20 Like most the others it was used to open up a few boxes as usual. The knife itself is still in great shape though. I know they sell for $26 new but I still have to pay for shipping. š¤£
We Saakshi (cf) $110 SOLD Lightly used with a couple small marks on the blade (can barely see them against the finish). Has been re-sharpened but itās a friggin scalpel. The action is absolute perfect!! Hands down one of the smoothest knives Iāve ever seen come from WE. This one definitely deserves a good home as well.
Finch Cimarron $55 Carried and lightly used. Factory edge is still very sharp though. Canāt really tell it was even used. I never carry anything more than a handful of times anyway so itās still in great shape. Nice action. Very droppy for a small thin blade.
Daggerr Resident $20 SOLD Brand New never used. Thought it was a cool budget design and figured Iād try it out. Has decent action for the price and will certainly get the job done if you need a little beater.
CRKT Goken $35 Brand New never used. What can i sayā¦ The design is phenomenal but the execution lacks my usual standard. Because of the design thereās no way to tighten or loosen the pivot. So you get what you get in terms of action. This one takes a little bit of a wrist flip to deploy, but itās not as bad as others Iāve tried. Still really good for the price if you can deal with having to flip your wrist to deploy lol.
Miguron Velona $55 This one has never been carried or used but Iāve had other Velonas before. All have been phenomenal!! This is by far the best one. Every aspect is spot on and will definitely make a great addition to someoneās loadout.

2024.05.29 02:02 RemakeOfRain Supermodel Coco Rocha
Ok. So Iām not a formecurrent member of the JW faith, but I am a fan of: fashion photography, models, etc. Iām a former makeup artist. So this āworldlyā industry, was my life for many years.
Closing out my final years in that industry and retiring from my career for something different, I noticed this very talented young woman come on to the scene, a teenager named Coco Rocha. She was fun to watch as her career took off, I loved (and still love) her spunk and creativity and how she stood out.
Yes I was surprised, when she announced she was a JW and had spoken of being recently baptized at the peak of her career. Her āriderā list of things she would and wouldnāt do in relation to what work she would pose for for clients. And of course itās quite a hefty one. Religion aside, I admired that she was bold enough to call the shots and stand up for herself like that, when many models cannot no matter where they are career wise. I applauded her for speaking out about the body shaming by casting directors and the sexual harassment by (and she named him) the problematic/predatory photographer Terry Richardson and her involvement with The Model Alliance.
Ok. So due to her faith, I knew where she stood. In cosmetology school a baptized JW was very friendly with me, a gay man. We always took lunch together, she never preached to me. We meet hung out after school of course and I asked her about her faith and our friendship and she said āitās not my place to judge people.ā But I knew enough about the faith to know her time around me was demanded to be minimal. Yet Coco, being the first ādigital ageā model that dove with aplomb into all social media, was where I noticed what would be hypocrisy, and wondering āhow does she get away with it?ā
The relationship between fashion designers and a model as muse, isnāt anything new. One of the kindest, most inclusive and supportive designers is Christian Siriano a very out and proud gay man, and Coco is extremely close to him. Very close. Very very close. Multiple social media posts friendly. Knowing about the JWās view on the LGBTQ+ community, how can it be so? She doesnāt shy away from sharing it. Also due to those beliefs, Iām gobsmacked at how she promotes her involvement at events for the American Foundation for AIDS Research and on their red carpets in Cannes. Earlier this year she posted pics with Drag Queens. When I saw that picture on IG, I did comment to her that it kind of stung seeing a picture like this when I know what her religion says about us.
In fact this year at Cannes, she received a media award of some sorts. Is that even allowed?
A few weeks ago she posted pictures of her attending the White House Correspondents Dinner event. Iāve seen her pics at fundraisers for the environment.
She has a modeling camp and her family is constantly traveling the world. Looks like sheād be too busy and exhausted to g door to door to promote her faith.
Could it be that she believes as a JW (in her application of the faith) that like eating fish she āeats the meatā that serves her well but ādoesnāt choke on the boneā? I guess as a gay person Iām just left confused and how supportive she has been of us when I know the Watchtower put out cartoons for kids about how awful we are as a community.
Just curious.

2024.05.29 01:44 I_MakeThingsExplode Has any other levergun manufacturer with decent aftermarket support managed to recreate this on anything other than a Mossberg 464 SPX?
This is something I'd like to be able to do with a Henry X Model, or Marlin 1895 in .45-70 Gov't. Why? Just for the fun of it. However, I looked nearly everywhere for an aftermarket company that made AM4 buffer tube adapters for lever-actions. The closest I've come was a 3d-printed buffer adapter for an airsoft Winchester 1873 (last pic). I've seen dozens of lever actions with Ranger Point Precision & Chisel Machining furniture, now I want to be able to see a big-bore lever action with a buffer tube, sporting a B5 Systems SOPMOD stock on a Henry X Model. Why? Like I said, "for the fun of it".
Please note that none of the content in pictures above are mine. Thanks.

2024.05.29 01:22 aa406079 Questions about Vehicle Squadron cover saves...( Long post)
| So... I've been brainstorming ways to make massed predator squadrons work in 30k... I think I have figured out how to optimize them thru legions rules, deployment and first turn hijinks enough to most effectively use them as the glass cannons that they are... I realize vehicles in Heresy V2 are the redheaded stepchild when it comes to the ruleset... Able to be killed by random shots, restrictive firing arcs, the inability to React with primary weapons...ect... So hear me out... Is this loophole I'm about to discuss ...rules abuse? ...or an Easter egg the book writers left to vehicle squadron units to benefit from... Rulebook p 209 "Vehicles and cover " so I don't get this post banned I'm not gonna read it verbatim. Essentially if more than 25% of the vehicles armor facing is obscured, you get a 6+ save If you cannot see the vehicles facing but you can see another portion of the tank. You get a 5+ cover save Two things are important about this leading to the next rule.. The save is based on either cover or intervening models... Secondly, if the front armor is what you're facing but you can see the side armour, you can shoot it, but it will receive a five plus cover save and when you roll to penetrate, you're still using the front armor values... Rule book p 211 "Shooting at Vehicle Squadrons" When you shoot at a vehicle Squadron, the controlling player of that squadron selects which vehicle takes the shot. As long as that vehicle is within range and line of sight... ( And all vehicle in squadron have full hull points) Now refer to my pic... If I place at least one vehicle in my squadron right up against another vehicle so that the armor facing is fully obscured but you have a line of sight and range to some other part of that vehicle, then the vehicle in that squadron would essentially have a 5+ cover save anytime I moved them this way... So.. in the spirit of 30k I feel like this is kind of rules lawyering... But , I also think that vehicles are pretty shafted by the rules... How do you guys see this? In an abstract way, a five plus cover save to lighte smaller vehicles would go a long way in helping the durability... The entire T series of Soviet tanks was based on this principle. I'd certainly pay points for it... Who doesn't take a flare shield on a Spartan? submitted by aa406079 to Warhammer30k [link] [comments] |

2024.05.29 00:04 killuminati-savage Loco's Shisha Review - Alpha X Joker
https://imgur.com/a/FojNLd5 - Some pics of the Hookah
https://locosshisha.com/products/alpha-hookah-model-x-joker Like many others (I assume), I was a bit skeptical of these low prices and was curious if it was true, or too good to be true. After rolling the dice and chatting with the team over at Loco's, I felt confident what I was ordering was legitimate so I gave it a go. To help others, I'm from the USA (where this was shipped to).
To say I was thrilled with everything would be an understatement. I can confidently say I received a real Alpha product. It's solid, sturdy, heavy, and every little detail I looked for from a real device was exactly the same, down to the packaging and foam inserts included.
The website is very aesthetically pleasing and very easy to navigate. There are no frills or hidden fees, everything is up front with extremely reasonable prices on both items and their worldwide shipping. Delivery was surprisingly fast coming from outside of the USA and having to go through customs as well.
The best part of my experience was the open communication I had with the Loco team. They were quick to respond to all my questions, both on reddit and in email, and stayed in touch through the whole process all the way up to delivery. They ensured I was fully satisfied with my purchase and I was happy with what I ordered. Customer service is key these days and I can say these guys hit it out of the park.
All in all, I know they say 'when a good deal is too good to be true, it probably is' but I can confirm this is a real deal that's simply amazing. No over explanation needed. If you want a solid top of the line hookah for an affordable price, Loco's Shisha can 100% be your next trusted vendor. I look forward to their selection expanding and I'll definitely be back for more!

2024.05.29 00:01 notsurewhyiamheretbh $56K Budget Breakdown - 90 person Wedding @ Log Cabin (San Francisco, Presidio)
Hi there! We just wrapped up our wedding last weekend and I found this community super helpful when I was researching and planning my own wedding. I'm sharing this breakdown in hopes that I can give back to the group via some information sharing! I'm modeling this post after another super helpful budget breakdown post I saw a few weeks ago. Feel free to AMA in the comments - though I'm heading out on our honeymoon in two days and may be slow to reply while we're gone! :)
What is NOT included in the breakdown:
Engagement ring, wedding bands, honeymoon, bachelor & bachelorette parties. And the following things were covered by our parents as a gift: rehearsal dinner ($700 + tip for 30 people at Peking Restaurant), hotel stay (~$500 for 2 nights at Infinity Hotel), after party (~$300 + tip for 25 people at Campus Bar in the Marina)
The breakdown:
Expense | Cost | Vendor | Notes |
All-Inclusive Elite Package for 90 guests | $31,353.77 | Wedgewood Weddings | Included Ceremony + Reception Venue Booking, Invitations, Cake Cutting Set, DJ, Catering, Set Up/Breakdown, Open Bar, Linens, Table Settings, Cake, Floral Centerpieces, Sweetheart Table Florals, plus bonus decor they provided (votives, easels, table stands) |
Additional Florals (Centerpieces & Sweetheart Table included in above line item) | $2,865.15 | Angella Floral Design (WW Vendor) | Arch Florals, 1 large Bride Bouquet, 6 Bridesmaid Bouquets, Aisle Petals, Large Welcome Table Floral, Floral arrangement for base of sign |
Bistro Lights and Draping | $3,310.00 | Brown A/V (WW Vendor)
Photo & Video | $4,000.00 | Gala Photo & Films | 8 hours of photo and video, We had two photographers & 1 videographer. Includes a 3-5 min highlight reel, 30-45 min documentary style video, 500-700 edited photos, and an engagement shoot. Marc and Gia were amazing through this entire process, and I 100% recommend their team. |
Save the Dates | $40.00 | Canva + USPS
Boba Cart | $1,308.00 | Boba Passion | Two hours of boba bar serving time (fully staffed) and a really cute boba bar cart. Sharlene and Lowell were so sweet to work with, and had a really great tasting process so that I could build my boba menu. This was a huge hit with the guests! |
Misc Decor | $678.08 | Etsy & Amazon | Match Bottle Favors, Seating Chart, Guest Book, Card Box, Flower Girl Baskets, Dried Florals for Table Setting, Welcome Mirror, Blankets for Guests |
Donuts & Egg Tarts | $302 | Dynamo Donuts & AA Bakery | Cake was included in our package, but we also ordered donuts for our vegan guests and egg tarts for our older Chinese guests. We ordered for pick up and had a family member pick up & drop off to the venue. The venue graciously provided dessert table decor (stands, donut wall holder) |
Suit | $3,000 | Tailor's Keep | My partner really wanted to splurge on his suit, especially because he works in finance and will have plenty of opportunities to rewear it. He got a fully custom-made suit + shirt made by the SF location of Tailor's Keep and absolutely loved the process. Definitely a splurge though! |
Wedding Dress | $1,400 | Blue Sky Bridal | A beautiful secondhand Louvienne Theo dress (it had pockets!) which originally retailed for close to $3K. Highly recommend Blue Sky Bridal for an amazing selection of secondhand and sample (basically new!) dresses. It was great to be able to shop "second hand" and still have a boutique-like shopping experience. All of the dresses are in amazing condition and well-taken care of. |
Dress Alterations | $589.23 | Le Caprice | I had my dress hemmed (had a few layers), buttons added down the back, bust adjusted to fit better, straps shortened, added a bustle, and cups put in. They also pressed my dress before pick up. |
Cathedral Veil | $327.38 | Le Caprice | I ordered a cheap one off of Azazie and absolutely hated how it looked/laid, so splurged for a nicer one from Le Caprice. If I had to do it again, I probably would've spent more time looking for a more affordable veil. |
Hair & Make Up (Bride) | $680 | Joyce Zhou Designs | Joyce was super sweet and knew exactly how to work with my Asian features. My hair held through 16MPH SF winds the day of the ceremony, which I was so grateful for! This also included a 15 minute hair & make up session for the groom. |
Hair & Make Up (Trial) | $380 | Joyce Zhou Designs
Hair & Make Up (Partial for Bridesmaids & Family) | $1,370 | Joyce Zhou Designs | It was $230 for both hair & make up per bridesmaid, and $130 if you only did one service. We covered the full cost for our family members and $130 per bridesmaid. This total includes the full cost of single service for MOG & Best Person ($130 each), full cost of hair and make up for MOB and MOH ($230 each), and then 5 additional bridesmaids. They did services for 9 people, plus myself and my partner. |
Groomsmen Suits | $1,500 | SuitSupply | We contributed $500 per groomsmen for them to buy a custom suit from SuitSupply. The suits turned out great and now all of our groomsmen have something they can rewear in the future! |
Bridesmaid Dresses | $643.13 | Azazie | I let my bridesmaids choose the style of their dresses, and then waited for a Black Friday sale to order them. We covered the cost of the dresses. |
Lion Dancers | $700 | Leung's White Crane Association | We paid $700 which included 2 lions for a 15-20 minute performance that included benches + scrolls. |
String Quartet | $1,170 | SF Conservatory of Music | Hands down one of the best last minute decisions we made. The guests loved it, it made the ceremony music extra special, and it didn't cost and arm & a leg since we went through the SFCM. Someone on this Reddit thread suggested them and I could not be more grateful! |
Tips | $990 | - | There was a 22% service charge included with our WW bill, but we felt that many of our vendors went above and beyond so we tipped them. We gave $150 to our DJ, $100 to our coordinator, $350 to our photo/video team, and I can't remember the exact dollar amounts but also tipped 4 servers, a banquet captain, hair & make up, and the string quartet. |
Wedgewood Experience
We went back and forth when booking our venue because we had heard really mixed reviews about Wedgewood Weddings. At the end of the day, my partner and I didn't have a strong preference regarding our vendors and our top priority was to have a stress-free and painless wedding planning process. Since we didn't have a "vision" for the big day, Wedgewood was absolutely perfect for us. Their planning process is well structured, organized, and saved us the headache of having to vet, source, and coordinate with our own vendors. And, because they turn over weddings on a regular basis there were so many things that they provided that we didn't need to purchase because they just have on hand for each wedding. For example, they had a cake stand, ceremony arch (those are expensive to rent!), easels for our signs, table numbers (we opted to use our own) and table number holders.
We did the Elite package (the top tier) which included almost everything we needed for the day, and then worked with our Wedgewood coordinators to make actual selections regarding menu, design/decor, and all of that fun stuff. All of the vendors we booked through Wedgewood were amazing (DJ, florist, cake, open bar, etc.) and we got really great feedback on the food as well which was probably the strongest unknown for us (we did a buffet with salads, rice pilaf, panko chicken, five cheese tortellini, and a prime rib carving station).
The coordinator was also able to handle a lot of other things the day of like tip distribution, setting up all of our personal decor, managing our timeline, and even coordinated with a few of our outside vendors (lion dancers, boba bar, photo/video, and string quartet). Their services were so comprehensive we absolutely didn't need any outside coordination services. Our day of coordinator was AMAZING and I really appreciated how on top of things he was. We had a snafu where our lion dancers were double booked (!) and 40 minutes late to our grand entrance, and our coordinator finessed our timeline and worked with the DJ to make sure the switch up was seamless. The guests didn't notice that anything had gone wrong, and it was so nice that we didn't have to worry about it ourselves.
Re: The Log Cabin specifically - We thought the venue was the perfect size for a wedding of 90 people or smaller. It was perfectly warm, cozy and intimate which is what we wanted. The outdoor ceremony area has an amazing peekaboo view of the Golden Gate Bridge, and Karl the Fog cooperated so that we could have the perfect backdrop to our ceremony. I know when I was reviewing venues, one of the concerns someone else had raised about The Log Cabin was that it is just over the freeway (where cars enter the GGB) and that there's a softball field nearby that makes parking difficult. We didn't have issues with either -- no one even noticed that the freeway was there, and the A/V system made it so it wasn't an issue even if there was any freeway noise. Our package included a parking lot buy out so parking was a breeze and it also included a security guard to ensure no one random strolled onto the property.
Areas for Cost Savings
- Wedding Party: We covered a lot of things for our wedding party because it was within our means and we wanted to show our appreciation for them. In lieu of wedding party gifts, we covered half the bridesmaids hair & make up services (and made the other half optional), subsidized the groomsmen suits, and paid for the bridesmaid dresses. This is definitely something that would have saved us several thousand dollars if we hadn't, and I think our wedding party would have been totally fine if we hadn't.
- Lights: Bistro lights and draping made for amazing photos, but this was definitely a nice to have and not a need to have.
- Party favors: Honestly, I had read so many comments about not doing them because most people leave them behind. We did custom match bottles and small dried floral magnets, and most of them got left behind. However, we went into it knowing that it might be the case but decided to still move forward because we thought it would add a nice look to the table scape. There were a few people who were extremely sentimental and thrilled to have the favors to bring home. We'll see how they look in photos once the detail pics come in. :) If you're looking for an area to cut costs though, ABSOLUTELy skip the favors.
- Wedding Dress: I definitely could have found a more affordable wedding dress via David's Bridal, Brides for a Cause, or even at Blue Sky Bridal (there were plenty of options <$1000) but I ended up falling in love with my dress. If you're on a budget, definitely stick to trying on dresses within that range or you might risk getting attached to something out of budget. I didn't want to spend $1400 on my dress, but made the mistake of pulling it off the rack without checking the price tag. I was lucky enough to be able to afford it, but would have been heartbroken if I couldn't.
- Groom's Suit: Honestly, Tailor's Keep was such a splurge but my now husband was SO SO happy with the process. I think if you're not someone who wears suits a lot, or just doesn't have a need for that nice of a suit you could rent to save $. Or if you want to get a nice custom suit that doesn't break the bank, SuitSupply did an amazing job with our groomsmen suits and had plenty of options in the $500-800 range.
- Veil: I splurged on my veil (~$300) and this is probably my biggest regret. You only wear it for the ceremony - and my ceremony was SO windy - and it honestly doesn't end up looking the way you think it will trailing behind you... unless you have a perfectly windless day. Most of my photos are without the veil, and I think they looked amazing without it. If I could do it over, I'd nix the veil and save myself a few hundred dollars.
- Extra Desserts: We had so much leftover dessert... at the end of the night most people are off at the bar, using the photo booth, or dancing. I feel like most of our guests either opted to skip or just totally forgot the desserts were there!

2024.05.28 23:21 handsomegooch What am I doing wrong? Nothing I try seems to make a difference.
| Iām not sure if my idea is too difficult for AI capabilities (seems unlikely) or if I am doing something wrong. I have tried this test project on many different AI image generators, mainly MidJourney. I want to create an image of a woman who is sitting inside a giant martini glass, and then I would be using other applications to face-swap myself onto the model. Iām a drag queen and this is just a creative way for me to practice using AI. I entered āblack high heelsā and ālong pink hairā in many of my attempts, as a slight effort to have a consistent model which I could work towards turning into myself. Some of the most common issues that Iāve experienced included images of a woman combined with the martini glass, where her legs are fused into the glass. The majority of these results also had the woman holding a cocktail in her hand. I had minimal progress by using an image reference (first pic), which would give me a similar result of what Iām looking for, but the model is almost entirely different from what I want (second pic). I canāt replace my original image prompt with the images MJ creates, because MJ incorrectly flags their own creations as NSFW, leaving me unable to make my images accurate. I tried adding weights to my prompts, as well as experimenting with different parameters (stylize / chaos) but I had no progress. Iāve spent an embarrassing amount of time (months) trying to create this image. Over time Iāve rewritten my prompts many times, and Iāve tried using image-to-prompt generators. Although this specific photo is just for fun, I havenāt been able to move on to anything else, because I feel like I need to know whatās making this so difficult otherwise Iām never going to understand AI. Iām getting exhausted from seeing my monthly fee processing since 2023, when I havenāt learned a thing. Iād appreciate any advice, including if someone can simply create the image themselves and tell me how they were able to accomplish it. The reference images include the original photo from google, and two of the best results I was able to get over time. How can I go from this stage to a result where the model looks like myself? submitted by handsomegooch to midjourney [link] [comments] |
