2024.04.22 21:45 RestorerForer Best Search Term Filters for All PvP IVs And Cheap Evolutions To Quickly Sort/Transfer Storage In Pokemon GO!
Here are the advanced search strings I use to filter all of my Pokemon! This allows you to quickly discard everything irrelevant to you, and is easily customizable for your specific needs. submitted by RestorerForer to TheSilphRoad [link] [comments]
YOU CAN FIND OUT HOW TO SET UP AUTOMATIC EVOLUTIONS IN MY POST >>HERE<< This video >>HERE<< is an example of how my search filters work. Just remember you can save a search string by clicking "see more" and then long-holding your most recent search!
You'll end up with something looking like this! https://preview.redd.it/av7wi1u9a2wc1.png?width=400&format=png&auto=webp&s=9f99cba2c76879fcffa938e2975a7d32c90dd16e THE STRINGS1. SHOW PvP IVs: This shows all of your recent Pokemon that are PvP relevant, that have good PvP IVs.
A list for Pokemon you intend to trade for XL candy. I put every XL relevant Pokemon below (PvP and PvE).
Here's where it gets complicated, but don't sweat! I'll walk you through it.
This is a list of Pokemon that tend to sit in your inventory and do nothing. So, a good use of their candy is to evolve them! Every 1,000 evolutions you do gets you 1,million EXP. So it adds up! I just did 4,000 evolutions using the automatic evolving method - more on that in >>THIS POST!<<Caterpie,Weedle,Spearow,Ekans,Cubone,Pikachu,Pichu,032,Oddish,Paras,Igglybuff,Jigglypuff,Venonat,Bellsprout,Geodude,Magnemite,Grimer,Diglett,Meowth,Psydu,Growli,Abra,Machop,Dodu,Shellde,Gastl,Voltor,Ponyta,Exeggcute,Tyrogue,Horsea,Goldeen,Staryu,Smoochum,Magby,Elekid,Mr. Mime,Omanyte,Kabuto,Cynda,Sentre,Hooth,Ledyba,Togepi,Spinara,Natu,Mareep,Hopp,Slugm,Pineco,Snubbull,Remorai,Mantyke,Houndou,Phanpy,Treeck,Torch,Poochy,Zigzag,Wurmp,Nincada,Lotad,Seedo,Taillow,Sursk,Budew,Shroomish,Whismur,Makuhita,Skitty,Aron,Electrike,Gulpin,Carvanha,Numel,Spoink,Trapinch,Cacnea,Corphi,Baltoy,Anorith,Shupp,Duskul,Chingling,Clamperl,Wynaut,Bagon,Turtwi,Chimcha,Starly,Bidoo,Kricketot,Shinx,Cranidos,Buiz,Combee,Burmy,Buneary,Drifloon,Glame,Cherubi,Shellos,Finneo,Tepig,Oshawo,Patra,Lillipu,Purrlo,Pidove,Blitzle,Roggenrola,Timburr,Tympol,Sewaddl,Venipede,Dwebbl,Sandile,Darumaka,Tirtouga,Archen,Trubbish,Zorua,Gothita,Solosis,Duckle,Vanillite,Deerling,Foongus,Klink,Joltik,Tynamo,Litwick,Elgyem,Cubchoo,Mienfoo,Rufflet,Fennekin,Litleo,Espurr,Binacle,Tyrunt,Clauncher,Rowl,Litten,Poppli,Pikipek,Yungoo,Cutiefl,Morelull,Rockruff,Bounswee,Mudbray,Grooke,Scorbu,Sobbl,Nickit,Gossif,Chewtl,Yamper,Rolycol,Silicobra,Arrokuda,Toxel,Sizzlipede,Clobbopus,Hatenna,Snom,Cufant,Sprigati,Quaxl,Lechon,Nymbl,Tarountula,Pawmi,Smoliv,Maschif,Shroodle,Wattrel,Flittle,Wigglet,Cetoddle,RHYHORN,SEEL,DROWZEE,KOFFING,CHANSEY,EEVEE,SANDSHREW,CLEFFA,CLEFAIRY,VULPIX,ZUBAT,MANKEY,POLIWAG,PIDGEY,DRATINI,CHIKORITA,CHINCHOU,TEDDIURSA,TOTODILE,AZURILL,MARILL,WOOPER,SWINUB,LARVITAR,MUDKIP,WINGULL,RALTS,SLAKOTH,MEDITITE,BARBOACH,LILEEP,SPHEAL,BELDUM,PIPLUP,SHIELDON,BRONZOR,GIBLE,HIPPOPOTAS,SKORUPI,CROAGUNK,SNOVER,STUNKY,SNIVY,SCRAGGY,YAMASK,FRILLISH,FERROSEED,DRILBUR,AXEW,GOLETT,DEINO,CHESPIN,FROAKIE,FLETCHLING,BUNNELBY,FLAB,SKRELP,GOOMY,BERGMITE,GRUBBIN,MAREANIE,FOMANTIS,JANGMO,BLIPBUG,FUECOCO,TADBULB,TOEDSCOOL,NACLI &!Shiny&!Shadow&!Traded&!Favorite&!XXL&!Defender&!4*&Evolve &!# 4.1 TRANSFER:

I save this, then on a Community Day I write the name of the Pokemon (Charmander, Bellsprout...) after the "&" symbol and save that tag, so it shows me only that Pokemon with good IVs!3-4defense&3-4hp&0-1attack,4* & TIPS: Make sure to use tags specifically named "Evolutions" for the evolution Pokemon, and "Trade" for XL trade Pokemon, or else my filters will not work! Also, never name a tag something that is already a command. For example, if you tag all your size XXL Pokemon as a tag named "XXL" then it will break the search if you ever type in "XXL" (trust me). This is the same for commands such as "Evolve" and "Traded" and "Mega Evolve", which is why I have named my tags different words to these (my tag for XXL I want to keep for showcases, is "BIG"). Hope this helps you! And if any new trainers are using this guide, feel free to use my referral code - KKFJXVYMP! You can input a referral code as a new player, or after 90 days of inactivity, within 72 hours of logging in, to claim the rewards. Enjoy your automatically sorted box!! |
2024.04.20 19:10 drake_burroughs Wow... this is the first really tough week in a while... let's suffer through Legion #109 + 110, Legionnaires #66 + 67, and both 1,000,000 issues... abandon hope all who enter...
We've entered the 1,000,000 issue chaos, so I've tried to put these books into a reading order that makes sense. If it's not perfect, sorry... but neither are these books... submitted by drake_burroughs to LegionofSuperheroes [link] [comments] I've also just realized that Legion #108 was Jason Armstrong's last issue - wow, didn't even last one year... I can't honestly say I'm sad that he's gone - I know I said some nice things when he took over, but you could tell the grind of the book was getting to him by the end of his run. If you ever needed another reason to be amazed by Legion artists who last a long time, just take a look at the number of artists who bailed fairly quickly because it is the hardest DC or Marvel book to draw. I will argue that point with anyone. LSH #109 What do you do on the day after the Dark Circle mess ends? If you're this incarnation of the Legion, you bring back an old editor (KC Carlson) and an old penciller (Lee Moder) and you let them do a fill-in issue starring Violet. We also get the return of an old Legion villain, the Molecule Master. I can't say he was someone I ever cared about seeing again, but it's better than nothing. This entire issue focuses on Vi facing off against her biggest fear - being taken over by the Emerald Eye again. We get a nice recap of everything that's happened, we get to see that Star Boy is still a goofball when he's around Dreamer, we get no resolution between Kinetix and Vi and the former is still a zombie, and we get Vi asking Chuck out on a date. The big battle between Vi and the Eye is all in her head and didn't really happen... although the "resolution" doesn't really work, so if they really wanted to say that she did face the Eye, they could. Look, fill-in issues are just that - they don't resolve anything, they only kinda move the plot forward, they normally let fans see different creators work on the book, and they don't really accomplish much. Having said all that, Carlson did a great job writing from Vi's perspective, so that was good. Moder's pencils were even worse in this issue, so that was bad. And, to be blunt, Vi is really the last person who needed more attention. There are characters in this book who are so criminally underused that it's just a shame that the editorial/creative team doesn't see that. As much as I like Violet, could we get an issue focused on Element Lad? Could he be more than just a running joke? And just a rant because I can: the way they're wasting Kinetix is rapidly becoming criminal. How and why do you take one of the most dynamic and charismatic characters and just reduce her to one-word answers and stunned silence? I would understand if this was a completely different creative team, but it's the same writers (McCraw and Peyer) who created her? Did they just decide to butcher one of their best heroes? Legionnaires #66 If one fill-in issue wasn't enough, what say we go for two? KC Carlson is back and this time he's joined by penciller Mike Collins. This issue focuses the spotlight on Invisible Kid... so, again, probably not the Legionnaire who needed the ink, but it could be worse. We get two stories here. First, Invisible Kid is investigating a casino where the owner is manipulating the clientele to get more money, etc. He ends up getting nabbed by the owner, a girl named Charma, who he knows from his time working for EarthGov. Most of this story is either Lyle telling about his past, and his friendship with Jacques Foccart, and how he got trained to be the best spy he could be, or Charma talking about her horrible life, how her science experiments gave her the power to control men's minds, and how she wants revenge. Honestly, it's just exposition upon exposition and it really drags for the most part. If you thought that Invisible Kid was written as perfection before, this issue just doubles down and turns him into a complete Gary Stu. He's now the Earth's greatest spy, fighter, Legionnaire, scientist, and so on, and so on. Honestly, at this point I'm stunned they haven't had someone say to him, "you're the greatest detective the Earth has seen since Batman!" The other part of the story is Chuck and Vi's date and how the rest of the Legion is excited they're both going out. Everyone keep talking about how lonely Chuck is, but isn't he the guy who hung out with Triad and spends time with Tenzil and the others at the HQ? This really seemed forced as if they were trying their best to convince the readers that this was good when it was really just... nothing. Invisible Kid II is one of my favorites and to see him relegated to this role was just... aggravating. I get they're trying to pull everything together, but they basically removed everything that made him interesting in the original continuity. Saying I hate this is an understatement. Jacques represented so much in the original Legion - he was one of the only characters who you could say was the "average joe" in a super-hero costume. He was the first well-written black character in the Legion. He was the first African in the Legion. Now... he's just Lyle's motivation and unlucky best friend. I did like how they made Charma far better than before, but not by much. I think this new take on her could be done very well, even though she doesn't really get to do much here. And, I never thought I'd say this, but the art was worse than last issue! Amazing. This was a complete waste of time for everyone involved and you can hold this issue up as a reason sales number are cratering at this point. Legionnaires #1,000,000 LSH #1,000,000 So I have absolutely no memory of the DC One Million mini-series. I'm sure I read it - I pretty much bought everything Grant Morrison wrote at the time - but I'm completely blanking on it. Let's see if these issues make sense without any other knowledge. All of these stories take place in the 853rd century and we are introduced to the Justice Legion L, made up of Cosmicboy, Implicate Girl, Brainiac 417, Titangirl, the Chameleon, the Umbra, and the M'onelves. I'm not getting my hopes up... We're introduced to the team as we learn some of them are the result of two planets coming together (Colu and Bgtzl) and some evolving (Cargg) but they're still, essentially, doing the same thing - fighting to save the universe. They face some threats, half of the team seems to be useless (like the Chameleon having to be convinced to do anything - why is he there?) and the others actually act without worrying about the consequences. As heroes, they're really lame. I gotta be honest - this issue really just feels like Tom Peyer is trying his best to write like Grant Morrison and it's pretty hit and miss. The story is pretty empty and, since everything happens so far in the future, there really are no stakes. We don't care about anyone. It was very nice to see Sean Phillips handling the artwork. I never think of him as being able to handle sci-fi (his crime and magic books are amazing) so it was great to see him do something that was unexpected. If there's one bonus to these fill-in issues, it's something like this, where we get to see a new artist show off their skills. We end with the team going back 1,000 years and summoning that version of Superboy to assist them in their future. With Legion #1,000,000 we start even further in the future, where three farm kids find a comic book and are then exposed to the story of the Justice Legion L fighting against monsters that shrug off their mightiest blows. But they're actually not real. Titangirl, who's also not real but a construct of the minds of everyone on Titan, is trying to break down the U.P. so the people on Titan don't learn that truth - that their home doesn't really exist. The three kids, excited by this story, become superheroes themselves and... that's it. For those of you who don't understand what kind of talent Keith Giffen was, he took this badly-written story and turned in a pencilling job that elevated it. With one issue, this book actually felt like it took place in the future, something it's been lacking for a while. It's fascinating to me how just the simple character designs and locations are enough to make the science fiction element shine through. It's that Giffen blockiness with a huge Kirby influence, but it makes for a very different book than what we've been reading. You may have noticed that I'm not spending much time recapping these stories. I just can't be bothered - these books are nice to look at but pretty disappointing. What's even crazier to me is that, once again, the Legion is part of a cross-over that could be a vehicle to get more eyes on the book and keep them. I know that most comic fans at the time are just buying copies of whatever cross-over is happening and don't really care about the content, but even if you were able to convince 10% of those new buyers to stay, you'd help your book keep going. These 1,000,000 books are really the last death rattle of the titles before they fire everyone and Legion Lost starts. Once again, they get their sales numbers close to 30,000 (just like issue #100) and then crater back to just over 20,000... and the numbers keep dropping. Let's be honest - these are just two more fill-in issues with 1,000,000 slapped all over it. There is no reason for anyone to read them, let alone anyone looking for a reason to try out the Legion. I hope the mini-series that inspired this was better written than these were. LSH #110 We're back to regular continuity and a new penciller, so that's good, right? Let me start off this issue's review by talking about Captain Marvel. Sorry, Shazam. Which, when you think about it, is literally the worst name you could call yourself... Every time you introduce yourself, you change back into Billy Batson. Just silly. Regardless, I have always felt that Captain Marvel should exist in his own section of the universe and not join the rest of the DCU unless absolutely necessary. I think the whole concept is so steeped in the 1950's, and has been so deconstructed by Alan Moore that it's been made moot, that it's tough to pull it into any comic universe and make it make sense. I know that there is a lot of history, and nostalgia, with the characters, but I just find that they really struggle to work when interacting with other super-heroes. I mean, how does Batman work with someone who says "Golly" and is written like a teenager from the 1950's? So when I see that they're introducing a new character from that universe, named Thunder, and they're going to be a new Legionnaire, I'm not happy. This whole thing really reads like fan fiction. I know that most comic books are, essentially, fan fiction, but this reads a lot different. The fact that her name is Cece Beck, which is the same name as the man who created Captain Marvel, just screams that the inventor of all this stuff (who I believe, in this case, is Jerry Ordway) isn't trying to tell a good story but pay homage to the creation and creator. We have Fawcett World, named after the company that originally published Captain Marvel. We have villains and heroes that are all based on long-forgotten characters. We have everything looking like it was designed in the 1950's and never changed. And we have yet another orphan. And this is all supposed to take place in the 30th Century. Nothing fits in with the Legion. I've long been complaining that this book doesn't actually feel like it takes place in the future and this issue just further cements it. The more you tie it directly to the past, to the DCU of the 20th Century, the more it misses out on what makes it special. Worse, Thunder is just a boring character. There's nothing original or interesting. She's just another blonde super-strong heroine... why not just bring back Andromeda? Legionnaires #67 We get a very nice surprise Chris Sprouse cover, so I'm even happy. We start off with Kono and her new job - crystal thief. I don't know if I've brought up these thoughts regarding Kono before, but here goes:
We also get multiple pages showing that Star Boy's powers are still all good... so that was something... The only positive here was that they actually let Element Lad act like a normal, helping person for once, even though Star Boy didn't seem to actually want to get his help. I don't get where this subplot is going and I have no idea why they're spending so much time on it. Finally, on page 10, we get to the actual story. We're back at the Crystal Caverns (where Kono was stealing something before) and it suffers the first cave-in ever. Throw in a missing 10-year-old and we have a job for the Legion. Star Boy, Element Lad, and Ferro arrive, just by pure coincidence, and they start to investigate. Continuing with the "is this character development?", we get the random thoughts from Ferro, who wonders if his parents ever cared about him before swearing to save the missing child, and Element Lad, who wonders whether he should tell the grieving parents that "death is merely the ultimate transformation of body and soul." I know they're trying to write him as being a space hippy, but couldn't they give him a little empathy? Or some ability to connect with others? And if you think they couldn't make Element Lad less relatable and likeable, when they encounter a problem and Star Boy's penetravision stops working, Jan figures they should just stop and maybe the boy isn't meant to be found. Luckily for all of us, the writers decide to have Jan actually save the boy by actually using his powers the way they're meant to be used. Wow... this was so very, very stupid. I know they're trying to turn Jan into someone completely different from the rest of the team, but they've somehow managed to turn him into a character who has worse people skills than Brainiac 5.1. We end with Element Lad saying that they need to find the vandal who caused all the damage that led to the collapse (Kono, of course) and Star Boy, whose powers stopped working properly, finally realizing he needs help. Wow... this has been a rough week... please don't comment on how it gets worse from here. I'm just hoping something is good next week. Our next Legionnaire in the spotlight... Bouncing Boy!!! https://preview.redd.it/as6o1oyh2ovc1.jpg?width=499&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=38829eba448b4ae2e5fb8d7140dbff254b154e96 https://preview.redd.it/6o9mvodk2ovc1.jpg?width=736&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f4c02cb9fb6935955b75f4feced6e259c64e6928 https://preview.redd.it/6izzd32o2ovc1.jpg?width=558&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2547c179d3ece451503ad1d09d256f4a9e5da8b3 This is another tough one. Kinda like Triad/Triplicate Girl, my memories of this character are tied to after they stopped being Legionnaires and retired to be married. They would show up from time to time, help out when needed, have the occasional, usually badly-written, solo adventure, and then fade back into the shrubbery. Having said that, I will always argue that Chuck deserved his spot on the team more than a few other members (cough...Tenzil...cough) and his powers were far better than most writers gave him credit for. Cyclops has made an entire career out of being an expert in geometry and angles - why not Bouncing Boy?
Anyway, that's it for this week! Fingers crossed that next week is just a tiny bit better. There was really only one halfway decent story here, so we have to be able to do better than that, right? |

Reviews🔗Versatile Brooks Revel 6 Running Shoes 9https://preview.redd.it/249i5q08skuc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0019c355ba71342d289a525ef2bd3f94ae1ac486 I recently got the chance to try out the Women's Brooks Revel 6 Running Shoes 9 White/Black, and boy, have they made my daily life a lot more comfortable! As a mom who spends most of her time on her feet, I have been searching for a reliable pair of shoes that could keep up with my fast-paced lifestyle. The Revel 6 Running Shoes have not only met, but also surpassed my expectations. One of the first things I noticed about these shoes is how incredibly lightweight and breathable they are. The flat knit mesh upper helps to keep my feet fresh and airy, while the bio-moist DNA midsole provides a responsive and cushioned ride. In addition, the shoes are quite stylish and can easily be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. The chic White/Black color scheme pairs well with various outfits, making these shoes a versatile addition to my wardrobe. While the shoes are comfortable and supportive, I did experience a bit of tightness in the arch area. This issue was easily resolved by wearing a thinner pair of socks, but it is worth mentioning for those with wider feet. Another downside is that these shoes tend to stain easily, especially if you wear them outside on a regular basis. However, with proper care and maintenance, this issue can be minimized. Overall, I would definitely recommend the Women's Brooks Revel 6 Running Shoes 9 White/Black to anyone seeking a comfortable, stylish, and versatile pair of shoes for their active lifestyle. 🔗Comfortable and durable leather walking shoehttps://preview.redd.it/ch48zkp8skuc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=41321052f7c12ce11f838e05dc0536b3c8545a6a As a walking enthusiast, I've been eager to find a shoe that combines comfort, support and style. I must admit, the Brooks Addiction Walker 2 11.5 Men's Black wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but it did have some notable pros. Firstly, the full-grain leather upper delivers sturdiness and durability. I've been wearing them during my daily walks and they show no signs of wear yet. Another great feature is the Progressive Diagonal Rollbar support system. It has made a significant difference in keeping my body on its natural path of motion, particularly dealing with plantar fasciitis. However, there are also cons. The shoes are quite heavy and noisy, which can be frustrating, especially during long walks. The other issue is the traction. While it's designed to be slip-resistant, I didn't find it holding up well in damp or slippery conditions, making me concerned for safety. The sneaker is not perfect, but if you're looking for a comfortable and supportive walking shoe and can ignore the heaviness and noise, the Brooks Addiction Walker 2 11.5 Men's Black might be worth a try. 🔗Comfortable Brooks Divide 2 Trail Shoeshttps://preview.redd.it/vqvn6ya9skuc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=abfd900ebdaf3a0bd82e86de0fd062fa2b362488 I've been using the Brooks Divide 2 trail shoes for a few weeks now, and I must say, they've made my trail running experience quite enjoyable. The shoes are surprisingly comfortable, with just the right amount of cushioning and support. The double jacquard air mesh upper gives a snug fit without feeling too tight, while the removable BioMoGo DNA cushioning insole molds perfectly to my feet. One feature that really stands out is the midfoot wrap. It provides ample support and stability, making me feel secure even on rough terrains. Another highlight is the TrailTack sticky rubber outsole which offers excellent traction, ensuring that my footing remains solid on both wet and dry surfaces. However, there are a couple of things that could be improved. Firstly, the shoes are a bit heavier than I would like. While this hasn't significantly impacted my performance, lighter shoes might be preferable for some users. Secondly, the color options are quite limited. Although the quarry/grey/dark blue color scheme looks decent, I would have appreciated more variety. Overall, the Brooks Divide 2 trail shoes are a solid choice for anyone looking to transition from asphalt to trails. They offer great comfort, support, and traction, making your trail running experience enjoyable and safe. 🔗Brooks Addiction Walker Suede Wide 15 Shoe for Menhttps://preview.redd.it/o1ixpkt9skuc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c394ba41ceb50e276b5da1be7215ce59b739e2fd I've been a fan of the Brooks Addiction Walker Suede for quite some time now, using it as my go-to shoe for everyday activities. The suede material not only adds a touch of sophistication but also provides great comfort on my feet. I found the BioMoGo DNA cushioning system to be incredibly supportive and comfortable, making it perfect for long walks or even light sports. One thing that stood out to me about this shoe is its slip-resistant feature. This has been a breeze to walk on wet surfaces without worrying about losing traction. Additionally, the suede upper gives it a modern and stylish look without compromising on comfort. However, I did experience some tightness around the heel region in the initial stages, but that improved over time. Also, the range of colors might be limited for some people's taste. Overall, the Brooks Addiction Walker Suede has been an excellent addition to my shoe collection, providing both style and function. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, supportive, and stylish walking shoe. 🔗Women's Brooks Adrenaline GTS 22 Running Shoeshttps://preview.redd.it/y8owqqeaskuc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4f61b54b04f8dd3e4e5128f03f7149f15ec3abcd If you're on the lookout for a reliable and comfortable pair of running shoes, the women's Brooks Adrenaline GTS 22 is your go-to choice. I've been using these shoes for several weeks now and I must say, they don't disappoint. They offer a perfect blend of support and comfort, making them ideal for long or short runs. What I particularly love about the Adrenaline GTS 22 is its Smart Support system. It prevents unnecessary movements, ensuring you maintain your natural stride even when you're tired, which is a boon for marathon runners. Furthermore, the new DNA LOFT cushioning provides a soft and smooth ride, making every step feel like a breeze. Another high-point is the Segmented Crash Pad. It's designed to provide smooth transitions from landing to take-off, greatly improving my running efficiency. However, there's room for improvement as well. Some users have reported durability issues with the previous versions. Also, the shoes tend to produce a noise, which might be a concern for some. Overall, the women's Brooks Adrenaline GTS 22 is a reliable pair of running shoes known for their comfort, support, and style. They might need some improvements in the durability department, but they're still a top choice for runners. Personally, I'm not a big fan of the tongue's length and the wear on the inner fabric could be minimized. However, these minor issues don't overshadow the comfort, support, and flexibility that these shoes provide. If you're a runner, I'd definitely recommend giving the Adrenaline GTS 22 a try. 🔗Brooks Adrenaline GTS 23 Running Shoes for Menhttps://preview.redd.it/p6jpofuaskuc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8745d77268422b5f6b88842ede19d25fec0359ba I've been using the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 23 Running Shoes for a few weeks now, and I must say, they have been an absolute game-changer in my daily runs. The first thing that caught my eye was the stylish design - it's sleek, modern, and comes in various eye-catching colors. But of course, the true test lies in the performance. From the moment I slipped them on, I was blown away by the comfort these shoes offer. The engineered air mesh upper provides breathability, keeping my toes cool even during long, sweaty runs. The cushioning system is another highlight - it effectively absorbs impact, reducing stress on my joints and minimizing fatigue. One feature that sets the Adrenaline GTS 23 apart from other running shoes is its GuideRails technology. It subtly guides my feet in their natural motion, preventing excess inward rolling and ensuring a smooth, stable ride. This has been especially beneficial for me as I used to suffer from achy ankles and fatigued arches. In terms of versatility, these shoes are incredibly adaptable. Whether I'm pounding the pavement during a long run or going about my daily activities, the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 23 provides the support and comfort I need. The reliable traction and durability allow for smooth transitions across different terrains, making them perfect for various activities. In conclusion, the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 23 Running Shoes have truly exceeded my expectations. They offer unparalleled comfort, support, and responsive cushioning, making them an excellent choice for runners of all levels and gaits. If you're looking for a shoe that will enhance your running experience, look no further than the Adrenaline GTS 23. 🔗Comfortable and Supportive Brooks Ghost Max Walking Shoeshttps://preview.redd.it/wkqmxsgbskuc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2669f9f2d5dc60a00cec6d32c18d622416aeb2d6 As a reviewer who has been using the Brooks Women's Ghost Max 7.5 running shoes in my daily life, I can say that these shoes are a game-changer when it comes to comfort and performance. The high stack of super-soft DNA LOFT v2 cushioning ensures a cloud-like experience, making me feel like I'm floating on air as I walk or run. I've especially loved the GlideRoll Rocker transition technology, which has made my stride smoother and more efficient. The broad base provides excellent stability and impact protection, making it easier for me to navigate various terrains with ease. The shoes are also incredibly lightweight, making them perfect for long-distance runs or even casual wear. The seamless design and wide range of colors available make them a stylish addition to any outfit. However, I did notice that the insoles felt a bit hard after wearing them for extended periods. This might be a concern for some people, but it hasn't affected my overall enjoyment of the shoes. In conclusion, the Brooks Women's Ghost Max 7.5 running shoes are not only comfortable and stylish but also highly functional and supportive. They've been a welcome addition to my shoe collection, and I can't wait to see how they perform on my next marathon! 🔗Brooks Addiction Walker Suede Wide 15 - Max Support Running Shoehttps://preview.redd.it/fl0jvzxbskuc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5c448bfb1397772590409b37324fcb0806d2701a I recently decided to give the Brooks Addiction Walker Suede Wide a try, and I'm so glad I did. The first thing that struck me about this shoe is the comfort. When I put them on, it was like walking on clouds. The BioMoGo DNA cushioning made a world of difference, especially as I'm someone who spends a lot of time on their feet. Another great feature is the slip-resistant sole. Living in an area with unpredictable weather, this has been a game-changer for me. I no longer have to worry about stepping on wet pavement or loose gravel. Plus, the suede upper gives the shoe a modern, stylish look that I absolutely love. However, I did notice a few drawbacks. The most significant one for me was the lack of color options. While the peacoat color is quite appealing, I think it would be great if there were more choices available. Additionally, I found the shoes to be a bit tight around the sides of the heel, which was somewhat uncomfortable. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the Brooks Addiction Walker Suede Wide. The comfort, support, and slip-resistance make these an excellent choice for daily wear or long walks. While there are a few minor issues that could be improved, the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks. If you're in the market for a new pair of walking shoes, I definitely recommend giving these a try. 🔗comfortable lightweight Brooks Ghost 14 shoe for menhttps://preview.redd.it/h9fmmvmcskuc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d1c9d1fd6c120ac14ea4a5763e03d288c97e5aad In the world of running shoes, the Brooks Ghost 14 stands out as a reliable partner for various terrains and distances. When I first slipped them on, the textile sock-like fit was an instant comfort zone. It not only facilitated breathability but also felt incredibly soft and snug. The secure lace-up ensured that my feet stayed put even during my most intense runs. The new softer cushioned midsole with a segmented crash pad made every step feel light and smooth. It was a testament to how well this shoe performed under tough conditions. The padded tongue, heel, and ankle collar offered additional comfort, making me feel immensely supported throughout my journey. However, durability was a bit of an issue. While the durable grip rubber outsole was impressive, some parts of the shoe seemed to wear out faster than expected. The 3D Fit Print upper worked wonders in adjusting to my foot shape, giving me that customized feel that I craved. Plus, the sleek design definitely added to the shoe's overall aesthetic appeal. All in all, the Brooks Ghost 14 is a reliable pair of running shoes. Its comfort, responsiveness, and style make it a strong contender for anyone looking to upgrade their running gear. Just keep an eye on its durability - you might need to replace them sooner than expected. 🔗Brooks Trace 2 Men's Running Shoes: Smooth Transitions, Supportive Fit, 45.3% Recycled Materialshttps://preview.redd.it/7t79hb7dskuc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cbdf19691191fa75e95eba251a85c156c80c00ad So, let me tell you a little story about these Trace 2 shoes, man. You know, I've been running for years now and my feet have seen more shoes than a shoe store. But these ones from Brooks? Oh man, they're like comfort on feet! The first time I laced them up, it felt like I was puttin' on a pair of bedroom slippers, y'know? They've got this soft cushioning that makes your legs feel like they're runnin' on air. And trust me, with the amount of miles I've logged in these babies, I've tested that out in all types of weather and they hold up real good. Plus, they've got this kinda narrow fit which suits my feet just right. But, of course, no shoe is perfect. Sometimes, even though they feel light as a feather, it's easy to feel the ground beneath you. Now, that might not matter much when you're on a smooth road but let me tell ya, it can be a little tough when you're hoppin' over rocks or rough terrain. Overall, though, these shoes are pretty solid, man. They've made my runs more comfortable and enjoyable which, let's be real, is kind of the point of running shoes in the first place. So if you're lookin' for a new pair of kicks to hit the pavement with, why not give the Trace 2 a shot? 🔗Men's Brooks Dyad 11 Neutral Running Shoes - Gray/Peacoathttps://preview.redd.it/2pl6t3vdskuc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d1927db0088453e1e35226879f56c9ca69122b75 I've been using the Brooks Men's Dyad 11 for a while now and they're quite comfortable. The BioMoGo DNA midsole gives a soft cushioning and effectively protects my feet from rocks when I'm out for a hike. The Dual Arch Pods with a wide platform provide a lot of stability without making my neutral stride feel restricted. I also appreciate the air mesh upper and spacious fit that accommodates wider feet. The blown carbon rubber outsole offers great traction on various terrains. However, there's a trade-off. While they're comfortable, these shoes can feel a bit heavy at times, especially when I'm walking for longer periods. The collar lining tends to pill and look worn out rather quickly, which can be a little disappointing. Additionally, the midsole can feel firm initially, but softens up with use. In summary, the Brooks Men's Dyad 11 shoes are a stable and comfortable choice for those looking for extra support and a roomy fit. But, they might not be the best option for those who prefer lightweight running shoes or don't want to deal with the initial firmness of the midsole. 🔗Wide Fit Slim Support Running Shoes for Womenhttps://preview.redd.it/ksnwxxgeskuc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=91fe5d6c96ed61425e7c5c16b1979ae107a86127 I recently got the chance to try out the Brooks Ariel '20 running shoes - and boy, am I glad I did! As someone who spends a lot of time on their feet, both for work and recreation, finding the perfect pair of shoes that provide both comfort and support is essential. And the Ariel '20 doesn't disappoint in either department. First off, let's talk about how comfortable these shoes are. From the moment you slip them on, it feels like your feet are being gently cradled in a warm, cushy blanket. This is all thanks to the Max Cushion feature, which offers the most cushioning out of any Brooks shoe. Every step feels firm yet cushioned, making it easy to stride for miles without experiencing fatigue or discomfort. In terms of support, the Ariel '20 is designed with Motion Control technology that caters specifically to those with flat or low arches. As someone with such an arch type, I can attest to how effective this feature is in stabilizing my feet and preventing excessive movement. It's like having a personal guardian keeping your feet in perfect alignment with every stride. Now, on to the cons. While the engineered mesh upper is great for breathability, it seems to be slightly less durable than I would have hoped. After a few weeks of regular use, I started to notice some minor wear and tear on the mesh material. Additionally, the GuideRails technology can make for quite a noisy walking or running experience. While this may not be a deal-breaker for some, it could potentially be an issue if you're looking for something more discreet. In conclusion, the Brooks Ariel '20 running shoes have been a real game-changer for me. The combination of comfort, support, and a stylish design make them the perfect choice for anyone who spends a lot of time on their feet. While there are some drawbacks to consider (namely durability and noise), these shoes are definitely worth considering if you're in the market for a new pair of kicks. 🔗Brooks Adrenaline GTS 22: Supportive Running Shoes for Menhttps://preview.redd.it/7abp3l1fskuc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3cb09aaa2d08fd5245f813593078dfbe33bfe813 I recently purchased the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 22 for my daily running sessions, and I must say, it has been a game-changer. As someone who suffers from overpronation, finding a supportive and comfortable pair of shoes can be quite challenging. However, the Adrenaline GTS 22 has managed to address both these issues, making my runs delightful. The first thing that struck me about these shoes was their sleek design. The combination of peacoat, India ink, and grenadine colors gives them an attractive appearance that sets them apart from other running shoes I've tried. But it's not just about looks; the Adrenaline GTS 22 offers exceptional support, especially with its GuideRails technology. This innovative system ensures that my natural stride remains stable even when I get tired during long runs. I appreciate how the soft transitions provided by the DNA Loft midsole and the Segmented Crash Pad work together to provide a smooth ride. It feels like I'm gliding across the ground with every step, which has significantly improved my overall running experience. One aspect that I was initially skeptical about was their comfort level. However, after putting them on for the first time, I knew I made the right choice. The 3D Fit Print technology creates a snug fit that adapts to my foot's shape, providing optimal support without compromising on comfort. On the downside, I noticed that the shoes can be a bit noisy when walking on certain surfaces. While this doesn't affect their performance, it might be an issue for those who prefer silent footwear. Additionally, although the shoes are lightweight, they may not be suitable for those looking for ultra-minimalistic running shoes. In conclusion, the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 22 has exceeded my expectations in terms of comfort, support, and style. If you're in the market for a reliable pair of running shoes that can help improve your performance, I highly recommend giving these a try. You won't be disappointed! Whether you're a seasoned shooter or a novice, this article will serve as a handy guide to help you make an informed decision on the 44 Remington Magnum. The Top 18 Best 44 Remington Magnum
Reviews🔗Professional, Fireproof Long Gun Safe with Triple Seal Protectionhttps://preview.redd.it/8ciossflj1rc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eedb5063deaacaf39cfb3283a27bd0fa8dce5a24 Protecting your valuables and firearms can be a huge responsibility, and that's where the Remington Express SAR5944E Safe comes in. I recently decided to try out this long gun safe, and I have to say, it's been a game-changer. First, the exterior dimensions of the safe are impressive, measuring at 59" H x 36" W x 23.50" D, providing ample space for larger firearms. The interior dimensions are equally noteworthy, offering 55.51" H x 32.28" W x 16.30" D, housing 16.90 cubic feet of storage space. With a weight of 721.8 lbs, you know this is a sturdy and reliable safe. But what really sets this safe apart is its fire rating of 60 minutes at temperatures up to 1650 degrees Fahrenheit. That's half an hour longer than what many other safes can claim. And for protection from water damage, it's equipped to withstand submersion in up to 2 feet of standing water for up to 7 days. One area where this safe shines is the combination of a fully programmable SecuRam electronic lock, two fail-safe override keys, and an integrated UL Rated single power outlet with two USB ports. This makes it easy to keep your valuables secure while also providing convenience and ease of use. However, one downside I experienced was the delivery process. I had to pay extra for the safe to be moved inside my home, as the delivery service only brought it to the doorstep. That added a significant amount to my overall cost. The safe also comes with a relocker device and motion-activated LED lights for added security and visibility, especially in dark conditions. The steel construction is industrial-grade, with a graphite satin metallic powder coat finish and a 5-spoke chrome drop handle. The Uni-Weld 12 gauge steel body is reinforced with 8 active steel bolts and 4 deadbolts, providing an impressive level of security. In conclusion, the Remington Express SAR5944E Safe offers a robust combination of fire protection, water resistance, and security features in a sturdy, long gun safe design. Despite the added delivery cost, the overall experience of using this safe has been positive and reassuring, offering peace of mind when it comes to safeguarding important valuables and firearms. 🔗Hornady Series I Custom-Grade 2-Die Set for 300 Remington Ultra Magnumhttps://preview.redd.it/t1b628wlj1rc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c83bf34ff7d07999a00585040f4e5231c62e1ec1 I've been using the Hornady Series I 2-Die Set for my 300 Remington Ultra Magnum firearm, and I must say, it's been quite the experience. The die set is well-crafted, ensuring a lifetime of reloading without breaking or wearing out. It boasts a sleek Zip Spindle design that eliminates spindle slippage, making adjustments much easier. One of the most impressive features of these dies is the die locking rings, which keep everything secure during the reloading process. However, I found that the full-length sizing and bullet seating design could be a bit tricky to manage for newcomers to reloading. Another small drawback is the absence of a shell holder, which might be a slight inconvenience for some users. But overall, I've had a fantastic experience with this product. Its durability and smooth operation make it a solid choice for those seeking reliable and long-lasting reloading tools. So, if you're in the market for new dies and haven't given Hornady a try, I highly recommend giving them a shot. 🔗Versatile, High-Quality, Red Magnum 44 Permanent Markerhttps://preview.redd.it/0t9apvfmj1rc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a4e7fe4362ad6cefe331db9edb13ce906a717009 I recently had the chance to try the WorkstationPro x Broad Magnum 44 Permanent Marker in Red. I was impressed by its industrial strength, perfect for large-scale marking jobs. The quick-dry ink is highly pigmented, producing a bold, bright mark without any odor. Additionally, the loop at the top keeps the marker safe and tidy. Despite its permanent nature, the ink is both AP certified non-toxic and water-resistant, making it a handy option for various uses. However, one minor drawback is that it does not come in a wide range of colors like some other markers. Overall, this red WorkstationPro x Broad Magnum 44 is definitely a worthy addition to any office toolkit. 🔗Redding 44 Remington Magnum Sizer Die for Straight Wall Caseshttps://preview.redd.it/hpckfulmj1rc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5deae90f82dfe85a8e6db28c64953bba53d5968d I recently gave the Redding Sizer Die 44 Remington Magnum a shot in my gunsmithing endeavor, and I have to say, I was quite impressed. Picture this: you've got your shotgun loaded with some ammunition that didn't quite fit right. Instead of having to painstakingly trim and adjust every single piece, you simply pop in this bad boy and let it do all the work for you. The Redding Sizer Die 44 Remington Magnum, much like its younger brother, is meticulously crafted out of high-quality steel alloy. Trust me, you can feel the sturdiness and precision in your hands. It's not just a tool, it's an artisanal piece. The decapping assembly is a game-changer. It saves you the hassle of having to manually remove the primer from each case. It's almost like having a little sidekick doing all the heavy lifting for you. One less thing to worry about, am I right? However, as with all good things, there's a catch. The price tag on this baby might give you a bit of sticker shock. But, considering the quality and the amount of work it saves you in the long run, it might just be worth it. Overall, the Redding Sizer Die 44 Remington Magnum is a worthy investment for any gun enthusiast. It's reliable, precise, and does all the tough work for you. Just remember, you also need to have patience and some knowledge about gunsmithing - this tool is not a magic wand that fixes everything by itself. Happy shooting! 🔗Professional Barber's Dream: 44 Remington Magnum Calibre Jacket Clipperhttps://preview.redd.it/or4p5s5nj1rc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=413cb2f5909ec8fdfc2ba99dfd315c4ee0a025c5 The Caliber 44 Magnum Cordless Clipper has been an essential tool in my daily grooming routine. I was initially drawn to its sleek design, but it was the fade blade's precision that truly won me over. The powerful motor with an impressive 8200 RPM made cutting through thick hair a breeze. The 3200mAh Li-ion battery provides a whopping 5 hours of continuous use, so I never have to worry about running out of power mid-cut. The metal click lever is a game-changer, allowing for effortless and precise adjustments on the fly. The digital display is also a thoughtful addition, keeping me informed of the clipper's power level and oil requirements. While the low noise technology is a great bonus, it's the dual DLC-Diamond Like metal 440C Japanese steel blades that truly set this clipper apart. Of course, no product is without its minor drawbacks. I found that the battery charge time could be a bit longer, but overall, the Caliber 44 Magnum Cordless Clipper has exceeded my expectations and become my go-to grooming essential. 🔗High Lifter APEXX 8-inch Big Lift Kit for Polaris RZR 1000 2017-2021https://preview.redd.it/gbvq9dfnj1rc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=93a659235eaa1bc1bba2727d901502c365a937ad Revving up on my 2020 Polaris RZR 1000, I decided to give the High Lifter APEXX Big Lift Kit a try. Not only did it give my ride the much-needed boost in ground clearance, but it also opened up more possibilities for off-roading. This kit was a game-changer, and the fact that it came with sturdy control arms that can withstand the toughest terrain is just a bonus. However, something I noticed was that the fitment could be a tad tricky, and I had to make some tweaks to get it just right. Overall, it's a worthwhile investment for those seeking a more thrilling off-road experience. 🔗Advanced Ceramic Straightener for Shiny, Healthy Hairhttps://preview.redd.it/r968icunj1rc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=228b8a00683aadde3b51e539042330acae01b4a0 As I've been using this stylish Remington Therapy Collection straightener, I've noticed how well it treats my hair, giving it a natural-looking shine and eliminating frizz. The advanced ceramic coated plates glide through my hair effortlessly, and the sleek design is easy to maneuver, making it a perfect addition to my daily hair routine. One of the highlights I've experienced is the digital temperature display, which ensures I'm using the right setting for my hair type. Plus, the intelligent auto shut-off feature adds an extra layer of safety for when I forget to turn it off. However, I've also noticed a few drawbacks. On occasion, the advanced ceramic plates tend to tangle my hair when styling, which can be a bit of a hassle to untangle. Additionally, the cord isn't as heavy-duty as I would prefer, making it easier to accidentally unplug during use. Overall, this Remington Therapy Collection straightener has been a valuable addition to my hair care arsenal. While there are a few drawbacks to consider, the benefits far outweigh the cons, making it a solid choice for anyone looking to enhance their hair's vitality and shine. 🔗Waterproof Tactical Boots with Suede Leather and Slip Resistant Outsoleshttps://preview.redd.it/l19bnn5oj1rc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=377afcc7a75eba9fd33bbbfd37dab54160649126 The Magnum Bragg tactical boots are an impressive combination of style and functionality, designed to keep feet dry and protected in every terrain. As a reviewer who's been using these boots for my outdoor activities, I appreciate the breathable waterproof membrane that keeps my feet dry even when I'm wading through wet grass. The cushioned collar, EVA midsole, and Ortholite sock liner provide a level of comfort that I didn't expect from a military-style boot. However, I did notice that these boots are more water resistant than fully waterproof, which can be a downside for those seeking complete protection. Overall, I recommend these boots for people who want a durable and comfortable outdoor work or hiking experience, but remember to apply a moisture repellent to ensure full waterproof protection. 🔗5 Lug 1.5 RS Weld Racing Magnum III RT Wheel in Black Anodized Finishhttps://preview.redd.it/p5f98wnoj1rc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2ce0f9127ad6654881f885027f987c0c509e9c63 For a little over a month, I've been using the Weld Racing Magnum III RT 15" x 4" wheel as the staple for one of the vehicles I daily drive. The first thing that stood out to me was the wheel's robust design. The 3-piece construction, coupled with a 1,200 lb load capacity, makes it a reliable choice for my daily commutes, despite the fact that I often have to navigate through urban roads and the occasional pothole. Despite its size, the Weld Racing Magnum III RT is surprisingly maneuverable in tight spaces. Despite the 1.5 in back spacing, it performs wonderfully, making it easier for me to park it in the same spot every day. However, one drawback I've experienced is the lack of hub centricity. While it isn’t a deal breaker for me, it could be a disadvantage for someone looking for the smoothest ride possible. When it comes to aesthetics, the Magnum III RT is hard to beat. The black anodized center contrasts beautifully with the wheel’s polished finish, giving it a sleek and sophisticated look. Overall, the Weld Racing Magnum III RT is a solid choice. Despite its minor drawbacks, the wheel provides an excellent blend of performance and aesthetics. So far, it’s proved to be a reliable and visually appealing addition to my vehicle. 🔗Magnum Rigmaster Safety Boots: Durability, Comfort, and Weather Resistancehttps://preview.redd.it/uihho4xoj1rc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=20f6cd518acce4fb063e7633ba273b4c07f2b7a7 As someone who's spent countless hours on a work site, I can confidently say that comfort is key when it comes to safety boots. That's why I was thrilled to try out the Magnum Rigmaster safety boots for men. The very first thing I noticed was the lightweight yet sturdy design, making these boots easy to wear and move around in, even on wet and muddy surfaces. One feature that really stood out for me was the waterproof and breathable bootie membrane. It kept my feet dry and comfortable all day long, even when I was working in wet conditions. The composite toe and anti-penetration plate were also impressive, offering a layer of protection against potential hazards on the job site. However, there were a couple of downsides to these boots that I couldn't overlook. The zipper system, while convenient for getting them on and off, occasionally caused some friction and wear on the leather. Additionally, the laces sometimes loosened throughout the day, requiring frequent adjustments. In conclusion, the Magnum Rigmaster safety boots provide a balance of comfort and durability that other work boots often lack. Although there are minor drawbacks, the overall experience has been positive, and I would recommend giving these boots a try if you're in the market for a dependable and comfortable pair of safety boots. 🔗Magnum Classic 44 Remington Boots: Comfortable, Durable, and Stylishhttps://preview.redd.it/xhz33yepj1rc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fa26ead2f22a1bfd70ecb9491ad07f512f8ec1eb I've been using these Magnum Classic Boots for a while now, and I must say, they're a game changer. The thing that stands out the most to me is the comfort. It's like walking on air – these boots are so lightweight, yet incredibly supportive. The leather and nylon construction is a testament to their durability, so I don't have to worry about them falling apart after a few months of use. They're perfect for those long days when I'm on my feet for hours. One downside is that, as with most boots, they do require a bit of breaking in. I find this with most footwear, and I don't let it deter me from trying out some great products like these boots. Overall, the Magnum Classic Boots are a fantastic addition to my wardrobe. They offer a stylish yet practical twist on traditional footwear, making them an excellent choice for both casual and professional use. 2024.01.06 21:09 drake_burroughs Happy New Year!! More Triangles, Triad, and Tanglewebs... let's look at LSH 67, 68, 69, Legionnaires 24, 25, and LSH Annual 6
Welcome back everyone! I hope we had a great holiday, got to spend time with whomever you care about the most, and got some much needed R & R. submitted by drake_burroughs to LegionofSuperheroes [link] [comments] We're heading back to the Legion as we speed towards the end of the first year of stories. The White Triangle is wreaking havoc, the team continues to struggle with the political side of running a super-team, and what the creative team lacks in experience, they more than make up for in enthusiasm. Just a quick aside explaining the way I'm analyzing these books, in case I haven't been clear about this in the past. When these books were originally published, I had already dropped all Legion titles and was focused on other comics. So I'm not reading these through the lens of nostalgia that I did when working my way through the Levitz and Giffen books. Instead, for the most part, the first time I read these books was in the last couple of years, when I decided to "catch up", so to speak, on the Legion books I missed. We're also starting a new feature at the end of this column that, I hope, will get a few more people to leave a comment. Let's begin! Legion of Super-Heroes #67 We get the return of Tangleweb here, although that really isn't what's important in the book. There are two far more critical plot points: First, and I believe this is the first time this happens in this reboot, Cosmic Boy splits the team and only takes those who he considers the "powerful" Legionnaires to face Tangleweb. No surprise, this angers those left behind and they argue with each other about whether the entire team should head off into space or not. I'm sure I'll get push back for this, especially from all the fans of the "weaker" Legionnaires, but I think Cos was in the right here. His logic was sound as the team had tripped over themselves the last time they faced Tangleweb and bringing the most powerful members does make sense. He didn't know that Andromeda would refuse to touch any of the aliens, rendering her useless in a fight. And, to be honest, the only team member they really needed for this was Chameleon, so that worked. Second, we learn a lot about Triad and get our first real in depth look into our resident Carggite. When she's left off the team, we see the three personalities really come forward and show just how distinct they are. Unfortunately, we get a coloring glitch, or an error in the writing, and the hot-tempered Luornu, all in purple, takes off because she's so angry but, and here's the shocker of the ending, it's the Triad with both colors who ends up beaten and left for dead by the White Triangle. I don't believe they ever showed her leave, and right before she's attacked, she's upset that she left in such a huff. So which mistake was it? Coloring or character? Let's talk about pronouns for Triad, shall we? When Triad is united, would you say "she" or "they"? And when Triad is split apart, "she" for each? Would Triad refer to the unified version as "myself" or "ourself"? For my own simple mind, I'm going to refer to her in singular whether she's united or separate. That way, when I'm referring to the group of Triads when she's separate, I'll use they and it won't be confusing... I hope. Also, since I'm going down a Triad rabbit hole that continues next issue, how could she possibly date anyone? The writers have established that the different personalities find different people attractive, but how does that work when she's unified? Does the different attractions merge? Like, for example, if the orange Luornu likes Chuck, but the purple one likes Rokk, and the orange/purple one likes, say, Valor, what happens when they reunite? You know, I'm spending way too much time thinking about this, especially as a supposed adult. Legionnaires #24 For the first time, we learn the names of the three Triads:
We learn that Luornu is different from most Carggites since she has three distinct personalities. Their culture demands that each personality be the same. This difference cost them their parents and a normal life as they were treated like freaks from birth. Only their grandmother, who had three personalities as well, supported them to be as they are. We also learn that Carggite physiology is unknown to the Earthling doctors, further showing that these two worlds are more separate than in pre-reboot. Brainy, once again, saves the day medically and determines that the three need to reunite in order to survive. They do, things go back to normal, and we learn that R.J. Brande used his powerful financial might to keep Luornu safe from her government. It's a nice issue, well-written, and I think this might be the best Triad/Duo Damsel/Triplicate Girl story I've read. She was always a background character for me, someone who'd show up during special events or when they needed to kill someone without really killing someone. I really enjoyed this and am starting to like Triad more and more. The artwork in this book is also the perfect example of what an inker does. You can see exactly where the inker changes and the artwork changes. I imagine at this point Jeff Moy is begging the editors to let either his brother or W.C. Carani ink his pencils. More crazy Triad questions, since I've already leapt headfirst down this rabbit hole:
Legion of Super-Heroes #68 I just wanted to include this cover because it's the first Alan Davis cover for the Legion. I'm fairly certain I mentioned that hiring a good and famous cover artist would help sales. I'm also fairly certain that it didn't help at all... But it's pretty to look at. We wrap up the Tangleweb storyline with a trope (all they had to do was talk to the aliens and they'd discover they weren't really the enemy), a team member who does whatever he wants with no repercussions (although I'm just glad Invisible Kid didn't save the day and someone else did), and Leviathan feeling more confident about himself as a teammate and leader. But what I really liked about this issue, and I mean this as the highest compliment, is that this was the first issue where I felt it could have been written by Paul Levitz. The plot worked well, the dialogue was crisp, and they handled all the subplots in a very Levitzian manner. Just one of two pages devoted to Durla or Triad and Saturn Girl. Even the trope felt like something Levitz would've written. I know this is a simple thing, and something that I've complained about before during the post-Giffen issues, but whenever a subplot bleeds over the allotted pages, it just makes the book seem unprofessional. I don't know if I want to blame the writers or artists, but how hard is it to tell the story on one or two pages and end it there? Levitz and Giffen were absolute masters of this. Legionnaires #25 If I was making a list of the villains from the past that I would reboot and try to make work for a new audience, I don't know how long it would take me to get to the Composite Legionnaire. It was a pretty bizarre concept, even for the 70s, although the design did look kinda nice. I never would've approached this the way the writers did here, so hats off to them. The next two issues are all about Durla and Durlans, as we start with Saturn Girl probing Chameleon's mind to try to help him learn how to speak Interlac. Instead, she realizes that a Durlan mind is so strange, so alien, that she can't help him. Foreshadowing, my friends, to quote the Legion Clubhouse, is a sign of quality literature. On Durla, one of their most dangerous criminals, a man who can not only copy the look of a person, but also their powers, has escaped from a prison (he was trapped in a crystal and dropped into a volcano), killed his jailers, and is looking for more revenge. He kills an SP Officer, copies him and heads to Earth to find Reep Daggle, the son of the man who imprisoned him. On Earth, he is soon discovered and the fight between him and the Legion begins. He reveals who he is, that he's killed all of Cham's family, and wants to add Reep to his total. He reveals himself to be "The Composite Man", zaps the team with Spark's lightning, and we have our latest new villain. The next issue, Legion #69, is more of the battle between the team and the Composite Man. As soon as they realize he's copying powers, they tell Andromeda to fly away as quickly as she can because they don't want him copying her powers. So she does, happy not to touch a Durlan. But then they reveal that he can copy powers based on other people's knowledge, so that would've moot. XS leads the villain on a sprint through Metropolis, carrying Cham as bait, to give Brainy enough time to create the formula that will neutralize the Composite Man. Every issue shows her getting better and better as a heroine and I love it. I know I've said this before, but the Legion may have the best-written female characters in comics. But Invisible Kid screws up the math, so the formula doesn't work, and the Composite Man is even angrier and more dangerous. I always like seeing the heroes mess up - they don't have to be perfect every time. This means Saturn Girl has to do something she doesn't want to. She enters the Composite Man's mind and shuts it down, turning him into his base form and making him unconscious. Unfortunately, she has a mental breakdown as well and ends up catatonic and in a straitjacket. I think it was this issue where we all realized that none of the heroes were "safe" in this new reboot. Killing Kid Quantum didn't shake the fans at all because we didn't really know him. But sending Saturn Girl to a psychiatric hospital meant that they were willing to change everything. The stakes just got a lot higher. Legion of Super-Heroes #69 Random thoughts about these two issues:
This year was DC's idea of having Year One stories running throughout their annuals. Since the Legion was in their first year, they could basically just write stories that fit into their regular continuity. So it actually works out for the best for them. This annual follows the time-honored tradition of giving origin stories for three members: Kinetix, Leviathan, and XS. I like all three characters, so I'm onboard. The framing sequence around the three stories is pretty standard, and we've seen it before in older Legion books. Heck, we've seen it before in Gim Allon origin stories. Here, Shvaughn Erin is contemplating her new assignment, becoming the Legion Liaison Officer. She's not too impressed by them right now, based on the broken back, and wants to see if she can actually work with this team. She also mentions that she's retiring in 54 years, so does that mean she's... 21 if the retirement age is 75... that's the most logical math I could come up with. But it does set her up as the slightly older mentor type character for the teenagers. When you're my age, 21 and 15 isn't that big of a difference. When you're 21, it's a huge gap. Our first origin story is for XS and it's drawn by Stuart Immonen with inks from Bob Wiacek and Jose Marzan, Jr. It's really good. We get a lot of DC history shoved into a short story and they're able to tie the Flash, the Tornado Twins, and the Dominators into one coherent story. Okay, we get the cliche of the "child of heroes who doesn't have powers tortured until the powers appear" story, but cliches are cliches because they work and we immediately recognize them. Not every story needs to be groundbreaking. Our second origin story is for Kinetix, and it's more a story of loss then an origin. It also features artwork by Alan Davis and Mark Farmer. Based on that alone, it's my favorite. Honestly, the story could make no sense (and it kinda doesn't), but since it's Davis drawing the Legion, I'm happy. Yes, I am a simple man. For some reason that is never explained, Violet has joined Kinetix on an archeological quest to find some powerful artifact. Vi mentions her constant quest for power, which Kinetix dreams about, and I'm starting to understand why everyone was getting Phoenix vibes off her at the time. Kinetix got some powers by learning an ancient ritual to heal her mother, and instead of being satisfied with that, she kept hunting for more and more superpowers. Three years later, she gets exposed to an energy pool and was able to move matter and control it. So she's basically wandering around looking for radiated spiders and hoping to get bit. Also, did she always have healing powers? Did she ever use them before in the Legion? But, unfortunately, she isn't satisfied. When she and Vi discover the Star of Akkos, she loses all her powers and is back to "normal". I guess there's no more Kinetix in the Legion, right? Finally, we get to Leviathan's origin, drawn by Mike Collins and Ron Boyd. His origin is basically the same as before, getting exposed to a meteor and suddenly being able to grow tall. But what changes is his reason for joining - he discovers that his superior officer promoted him only because of the powers and is going to use him to move higher up the ranks of the SPs. So Gim quits and joins the Legion. I honestly would've liked to have seen them do something a little more interesting with his origin, maybe change it up a bit, or show a stronger relationship with Gigi Cusimano. But this really only existed to show Shvaughn that the Legion has values and Gim's a good guy. Kinda disappointing for me. The end result is Shvaughn happily becoming the Liaison Officer and that plot point is resolved. Wouldn't it have been better if she was still angry at Gim, angry that he quit the SPs, and basically forced into this new role for her career? At least more interesting. Also, after reading this and comparing Mike Collins work to his other books, I'm now fairly certain that it's Ron Boyd's inks that have been ruining so many of these Legion issues. I'm sure he's a nice guy, but he's not a good inker. We get pin-ups of every Legionnaire, providing vital statistics (I'm amazed they're still using Imperial measurement in the 30th Century) and then info on Brande, the Legion HQ, Legion equipment, and the UP. I always like these, especially learning more and more about the universe the Legion lives in. I really liked this annual and all the background info provided... even if it further showcased Lee Moder's anatomy problems - Andromeda is 6'0" and Kinetix is 5'2" - check out any of his books to see how badly he handled their heights. And now, the new feature: https://preview.redd.it/q2yb0s6rkvac1.jpg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d1e757de09ca213dec28b3cadcd8c46ce85d111b Let's talk about Lightning Lad/Live Wire... https://preview.redd.it/ho21aza0lvac1.jpg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=11f4cf7b96d96d9a767f8501febd7d8230b3f0a3 Although, really, this is just an excuse to post some amazing artwork. I know that we all have our own "idea" of who this character is, and I wanted to bring this up to try to get some more input from the readers. I want to know what you think of when you think of Lightning Lad/Live Wire. For example, for me:

Welcome back to a week of endings in the Legion of Super-Heroes. As we enter the fourth year of the series, we come to the end of the Terra Mosaic storyline and, more importantly for the quality of this book, Keith Giffen wraps up his Legion run with issue #39. submitted by drake_burroughs to LegionofSuperheroes [link] [comments] After Giffen passed away, I spent some time searching through different websites to see how he was being remembered and what work of his I missed over the years. I came upon a CBR.com article listing off the 15 best Giffen storylines of all time. Terra Mosaic was 7th. I doubt even he would have placed it that high. More speculation here, but I'm guessing that he was starting to check out by the time he reached the end of the Terra Mosaic storyline. There were more Bierbaum-only issues, which were just puzzling breaks in the story. He had already finished up working on Justice League (we'll talk more about that later) and was transitioning to work at Image. I know that he was having problems with the Legion editor, although I have no idea which one (or ones) it is. We've already gone through Mark Waid, Michael Eury, Dan Raspler, Michael Eury again, and now by the end of his run, Eury and KC Carlson are co-editing. I'm also guessing that he's probably a little burnt out by now. Between Legion, L.E.G.I.O.N., Lobo, and Justice League America and Europe, along with everything else he's helping out with, he's probably dragged in all different directions. I would also imagine, since these books are so different from each other, it's a much greater drain on his talents than if he was just working on five similar books. So I suspect that by the end of this run, he's quite ready to take a break. I somewhat doubt he had fond memories of this story. I'm probably a little harsher in my opinion of the Terra Mosaic, and that's really for two reasons. One, the fill-in issues are atrocious. And two, they spend the entire story just making the old Legionnaires look horrible in order to build up the SW6 versions. Was it necessary? Is there anyone who wouldn't have liked to have seen both young and old Laurels demolishing the Dominion cruisers together? Or the two Element Lads working together to save as many people as they could? Couldn't both groups be heroic here? We've also entered the period of the 5YL series when I was starting to contemplate removing the Legion from my pull list at my comic shop. Each issue was becoming more and more disappointing and I was getting closer and closer to dropping the book. When they kept dragging the old Legionnaires through the mud, metaphorically, and turning them into useless relics, I just got more and more irritated and annoyed. Before I get into some of the individual issues, I just wanted to make a high-level comment about this whole story and the fill-in issues. For me, what's most frustrating about the story, and the series in general, is that there are moments that are stunningly good, even when they're surrounded by something horrible or disappointing. For example, issue #40 is painful to read and a misfire almost entirely, but then they have two amazingly strong moments when Vi and SW6 Violet meet and chat and when SW6 Ultra Boy and Phantom Girl meet Jo and realize how horrible it must be for him to see them. LSH #34 I've heard that Paul Levitz, when he was writing the Legion, had a huge white board that he used to keep track of all the plot lines and which characters he was using so that he could ensure everyone got fair treatment and he didn't forget what had gone on before. If Giffen and the Bierbaums used one, I'm guessing that it was no longer white but just every color of marker they had. I think this is why they completely lost track of some characters and the story just kinda floats along without any direction sometimes. That also helps to explain why some characters' personalities change on a dime. This book has also continued with minimizing the old Legion while showing the SW6 Legion to be the true heroes. While Lar refuses to get involved and fight any Dominators (and gets called out for this by Sade, the villain who's fighting to save Earth), SW6 Laurel single-handedly takes over the Dominator command ship, the Pinnacle Command, and shuts down their war machine. Let me repeat that for the cheap seats - Lar Gand, the hero known as Valor, who has watched his entire planet of Daxam get wiped out by Glorith so you'd think he'd be willing to fight to save a world from genocide, refuses to help the Earthlings because he wants them to fight for themselves. And Sade, the assassin, tells him he's wrong and the deaths are on his head. And she's right. A few issues later, when Sade shoots Bounty during a fight to the death, Lar mocks her for trying to be the moral conscience of the year. Again, he mocks her for shooting someone who was trying to kill her because she wanted him to help save the Earth. I wanted to see her stare him down and simply say "How many Earthlings had to die because you're a coward?" Yep, that's where we are in this book. Lar Gand loses the moral argument with a literal killer. Continuing with the weird choices in character, when Bounty kills a Dominator scientist, it's Circe, the traitor who had been working with the Dominators, who seduced Dirk to help her, who calls her out on it. Once again, the villains are the moral characters. It is this issue where you realize that this whole storyline could have ended multiple issues ago if only the old Legion had actually been heroes and fought against the Dominators. But they're not anymore, are they? They're the audience, watching the real heroes: the SW6 Legion. LSH #35 You'd never know from the cover, but in this issue the war ends. But since they have to keep kicking Dirk when he's down, we get this cover. You'll also notice that the book has gone bi-weekly at this point. Does anyone know why, because they only do it for two months. I kinda feel like this is because they wanted to rush to get the Legionnaires spin-off out for the start of 1993, but I'm not sure. If you want further proof that the creative team is throwing all their support behind SW6, there are a few panels when the young heroes are out fighting the Dominion and are cheered on by the populace. One person shouts, "The Legion! The Legion are back!" and another, "God, we're gonna win this thing!" So the people of Earth needed the Legion's help and they're energized and encouraged when they see them. Good to see that Lar got it so very, very wrong. Again. The Dominion surrender and the UP lets them head back to their home planet, Elia, to save it. The UP sets up around the Earth and begins the rescue and rebuilding operations. If only they could have done this, I don't know, weeks ago... And the old Legion still hasn't done anything. Nothing at all. There's one subplot that they really strengthen here that was creepy when I first read it and it's just worse now: the SW6 Shrinking Violet/Devlin O'Ryan "romance". If they had just kept it as her having a crush on an older man, it would be okay. You'd have the nice moment where he reminds her that he's an adult (he's a professional writer for the Daily Planet, which is somehow still going after 1,000 years) and that would be over. Instead, he asks her to stay with him and continue this romantic relationship. Okay, I'll just get this out of the way - there is one website that says he's 14 at the start of this Legion of Super-Heroes series, but I think that's just revisionist history to remove the creepiness of this subplot. He's an adult, she's... 15??..., and this is illegal. So here's the challenge - if I'm completely wrong here and there are panels, lines in the 5YL Legion that prove me wrong on this, please let me know. Looking over the Giffen pencils, he looks much older but, when it's time for him to meet the SW6 Legion, they refer to him as a kid. Is this just that Giffen can't draw youth anymore (he was fine with Kono), or the writers retconned this when they started the romantic angle? Just to defend my position here, I've borrowed a screenshot from LSH #17 from the great blog, The Legion of Super-Bloggers. You can't tell me that Devlin's 14 in any of these panels: https://preview.redd.it/5xp66e91zkvb1.jpg?width=318&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=998545a1a65b745d0fde4f2d85e2dcc92e0231ed The only good use of an old Legionnaire is when Jacques is named the new Earth President. Not sure which council it was that elected him, or how it's even slightly democratic, or why the leader of the rebellion, who may or may not have killed innocent Earthlings, was the best choice... but they've kinda thrown all logic out the window by this point so let's just go with it. Speaking of this subplot, as much as I like the fact that they've elevated Jacques to leader and president, I was very disappointed by they way they used Tyroc, or Troy Stewart. As one of the few Legion readers who actually liked Tyroc, liked the costume, and always wanted to see him used more, the fact that they continually placed him in the background and never let him use his powers was very disappointing. I think he was another badly written old Legionnaire in this - they say that the Dominators destroyed his home island of Marzal but there was never any reference that he would want to get even with them for that. He just happily stood behind Jacques and occasionally got a line or two of dialogue. Just another waste... LSH #36 According to the cover copy, this issue delivers the battle you've been waiting for! Bounty vs Sade! Was anyone waiting for this? Did either of these characters actually have any fans at this point? I mean, one had been barely introduced and the other had been a mystery up to this point and neither had really done much to stand out, aside from both being tough, violent women. So this issue is kind of a "What do you do on the day after the end of the war?" feel and there's alternately lots going on and not much going on. The big reveal is when Sade shoots Bounty and the spirit of Bounty leaves the injured body. They rush her to the medicenter and they realize, for sure now, that it's actually Dawnstar. The worse reveal, of course, if when old Brainiac 5 says "You see, I knew it was her from the start - from the time I had her in the infirmary... I just wish I'd had the sense to intervene somehow." So let me get this right - Brainy knew his former teammate was acting completely differently, had cut off her wings (or someone cut them off), and had become a bounty hunter. And did nothing. Geez, with teammates like these, who needs enemies. Oh, and Brainy also assumes that he's the clone, not the SW6 version. No reason why, just does... They also spend a lot of time trying to make old Lar Gand look good. SW6 Light Lass comes up to him and tells him that they respect the fact that he didn't get involved. What? So why make SW6 Laurel get involved? Does anyone writing this book actually pay attention to anything the characters are actually doing? And just in case you thought the book wasn't dark enough, Circe shoots old Sun Boy in the head, putting him out of his misery and then kills herself. This book loves bullets to the head. What's sad is that Circe was the only character who actually had the courage to do what needed to be done. None of the Legionnaires, none of Dirk's old friends, none of the Subs, were willing to just do the humane thing and end his suffering. Again, I think the writers just wanted him to suffer and continue to suffer. LSH #38 The End... Giffen said in a podcast that there was no plan to destroy the Earth when they first pitched the 5YL plot. The original plan, as I've mentioned before, was for the SW6 Legion to protect the Earth and the old Legion to head out into space. So why destroy the planet? He said that he was so annoyed by the editorial on the title and at DC in general, that he came up with this final middle finger. He knew he was leaving things unfixable, for lack of a better term, and breaking not only the toys but the toy box once he left. I've spent months talking about the moment when the Legion was ruined and I honestly think this is the issue that did it. A good writer, with the planet Earth still in existence, could do something that would work for both new and returning readers. They'd have multiple Legionnaires to work with - heck, I would've really enjoyed a book where the Legion was made up of both older and younger versions of the characters. They'd have an Earth to rebuild and could, eventually, get everything back to the new version of normal. But with the end of the Earth, and the cities connected together in their domes, all of that was gone. The toy box was broken beyond recognition. There is no way a new writer could come in and fix any of this - a reboot was now inevitable. Contrast that with how Giffen left the Justice League books earlier that year. Everything was completely back to normal. All the changes they made, such as Blue Beetle gaining weight, had been undone. He left those two teams in pristine condition so any writer could come in and hit the ground running. Of course, he loved working with the Justice League editor, Andy Helfer, so that might have been a contributing factor. Speaking of editors, why did the Legion editorial staff let this happen? Did anyone read over this plot synopsis and think, "This is a horrible idea that breaks everything!"?? Did Giffen have absolute story control and the editors couldn't change anything? Or were they all just so far down the rabbit hole, so numb to all the violence and depression, that this didn't even register to them? I've made reference before to how DC editorial wouldn't creators break their most valuable properties. This is yet another example of DC not caring about the Legion in the slightest. What actually stuns me the most is that, at no point, did Paul Levitz, who's running DC at this time, step in and stop any of this. Having said all of that, I think this is the last good 5YL issue. And it's really good. Using only text pieces and full page spreads, you really get the enormity of the story. Some of the images hit hard and, as the reader, you feel the full impact of what happens. You gotta love the surprise "we built domes around all the big cities in the 28th Century and they're still working" way to save a lot of the population... No, it doesn't make any sense and really doesn't work, but they needed some way to get people off the Earth. It also comes with the horrible revelation that, even after all the sacrifices that were made to save the Earth, none of that matters in this new dark Legion. There are no respites, there are no reprieves, and the universe is horrible. On a complete aside, the one thing that stood out to me while reading this is that the destruction of the Earth should also lead to the destruction of the Milky Way. According to Cosmic Odyssey, a great mini-series by Jim Starlin, if any two of these four planets (Earth, Rann, Thanagar, and Xanshi) are destroyed, the Milky Way will collapse on itself. In that series, Xanshi is destroyed. Since this is still part of DC continuity, and definitely was when this book came out, doesn't this mean the Milky Way should've collapsed? Can anyone tell me how they got around this? Oh, and yes, I know this puts on full display my nerd knowledge of DC comics in the 90's. Random thoughts about the other issues:
Next week will get better, I hope, as the SW6 Legionnaires spin off into their own book and this title actually gets to focus on the old (original? cloned?) Legion. Maybe they'll finally be allowed to shine in their own book again... |
2023.10.19 16:10 Brickman100 Review of LesDiy LTM-11200 14 Motor Technic Mobile Crane
submitted by Brickman100 to lepin [link] [comments] The completed crane And deployed! IntroThought I'd post my review of the LTM-11200 14 Motor Version (available here) alongside the accompanying auxiliary arm (available here). Note this model was purchase in April 2023, before the design changes noted here, in which many of the issues I raise have been remedied. Some additional info for those interested, as I went on a deep research dive when purchasing this model. I believe this model is based on an original design by Jeroen Otten's, but has since been heavily modified to the point of being a completely original design. There are some other versions floating around online (MOC-20920, with various version numbers) but these suffer from a variety of design issues that sacrifice functionality for accuracy to the original vehicle, or use metal parts etc. See some of the links below for some other versions that I considered before settling on the above model. (Note some of these are available via LesDiy.de/LesDiy.com or their sister sites, namely LetBricks).
Model InfoOkay! Onto the model itself. I can't confirm, but I believe this was designed in house in collaboration with LuoJunz & YanniChan. There have been various iterative improvements with this version of the model, as well as some minor subsequent changes that have not necessitated a version number change, such as the noted design change above, and one I've noted below.https://preview.redd.it/usidj44046vb1.jpg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f1cc3487e9f337c244757cda1a2820752c8b3d8c The model comes very well packaged with a customised box, well sorted parts and a massive instruction guide, totalling 1480 steps in all. https://preview.redd.it/vvdxf54046vb1.jpg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9f6669710bc1b85c9dfea75b24752dd820a88d93 Make no mistake, this is a truly gargantuan project, and should not be undertaken without a lot of time and plenty of space to sort and organise your parts (nearly 10,000 in total). https://preview.redd.it/fk0w5s3046vb1.jpg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=192f314abfe7788fa73f66cb06f65aadda19903d Also included was 2 branded canvas tote bags and 2 LesDiy.de branded mugs, as well as a technic toolkit, including an axle measuring tool, pliers and a axle removal tool, and a full Mammoet sticker sheet. https://preview.redd.it/t82ych3046vb1.jpg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=96f2646f3a75dd1c1a0516084066ba3616cd9023 As for the build itself, it's a long, often laborious process, but I didn't run into many issues throughout the build, but I've noted a few problems. The quality of instruction printing was good, if not quite to some other kits I've completed - this is mostly due to the paper rather than the ink, meaning instructions don't often contrast against the paper well. I would ask that rod lengths are included in the instruction steps, as I spent a lot of time manually counting how long a required axle needed to be - this is especially difficult when the axle lengths that are included are not 1:1 scaled. Some of the mudguard assembly One notable area of improvement would be around the overall rendering of the model instructions. There were several times where build sections were shown entirely backwards, meaning the view shown did not display the area being assembled, leading to some tinkering to correctly assemble as required. There were sometimes rendering issues too, where a 3-long peg is inserted into a beam, which then shows up in a space that could only be filled with a 2-long peg, or in some cases a 4-long peg. Also, often the presented part selection images were quite small, meaning it was tricky to confirm exactly what parts were being highlighted for a given step. Model IssuesI've highlighted a few notable troublesome sections below. If I'd been aware of these issues earlier, I would have saved myself some considerable time:
https://preview.redd.it/cohbze3046vb1.png?width=250&format=png&auto=webp&s=d129c23e56bced01984044073a675b7eb1f56445

One of the areas that required reinforcement Instruction IssuesI've noted the highlighted issues below, although I can't guarantee that I've not missed a problematic section. (it took nearly a month to finish this!) Although this looks like a huge swathe of issues, across the entire model project, these issues were for the most part minor, and do not distract from the enjoyment of the assembly process, or the completed model.Cab

Potential Accuracy ImprovementsFor anyone who is really 'into' cranes, a few notable accuracy improvements stand out as model improvements that would improve the technical accuracy of the model, without requiring a total redesign. Given the complexity and number of included motors already though, I understand why these were not included, and this section is more for those who want an additional MOC challenge to modify the existing model. Note, that some of these are included in the larger 16-motor design by Huib van der Hart (linked licensed model).
Auxiliary ArmThere's not much to note here, aside from noting that this does not include another motor for the secondary drive axle for the extension jib hook, meaning this is a manual drive process. This went together quickly, mainly consisting of a large pile of pegs and various technic bars.Y Bracket Guy Cable PulleysA notable omission from the virtual model image on the box, and the completed model, is the lack of the Y Bracket guy cable pulleys (and the front winch, but I didn't see this as essential). These are crucial for supporting the auxiliary jib when at full deployment height. My support mechanism design They appear to be included in the LTM-1750 model, based on images I've seen online of completed models by fans. I fashioned some out of my existing technic parts, but you may need to source additional parts to complete this functionality, alongside a support mechanism for the secondary drive axle to which they attach. My design for the missing pulleys. Fully Assembled and deployed! Final Assembly ThoughtsOnce I'd assembled the final model and its associated auxiliary arm, I noted a few structural issues, and as such I've made some substantial changes, both around the main turntable, and reinforcement on the main turret body. I was impressed with the overall motorisation functionality of the model as well, as well as the app functionality support (XP Block APK.)All told, this model weighs in excess of 12kg and is well over 150cm long without the extension arm. As such, (once sufficient counterweight was added... I used gravel in the counterweights in plastic bags). although the motors are sufficient to deploy the outrigger legs, the boom arm to full extension, and even the turntable supports the full weight of the main boom, turret head & auxiliary jib, there are unfortunately compromises. I've not been able to successfully allow the model to drive under its own power with the turret assembly attached, as the weight is just too significant on the plastic axles (even with 9 of them!) to provide sufficient traction and torque. This is somewhat disappointing, but also not surprising. I'm considering replacing certain axles with metal replacements and potentially some more powerful custom motors in the future as an improvement project. To conclude, I very much enjoyed assembling this model, despite its difficulties. I've easily put 200+ hours into the sorting, assembly and subsequent modifications of this model, and for the price I paid, I can't fault the challenges it presented. Compared to 'official' crane models by other manufacturers, with their restrictive part count and overly inflated pricing, this model is fantastic value for money and has provided me with hours of entertainment. I'd order another of LesDiy's large technic models, but I lack the space to put it anywhere at this point! There were some 'teething' issues... |
