For background I was dismissed a couple years back because I stopped attending during covid due to personal problems.

So I recently got a job offer for a remote software engineer position without even having an interview. I have no recollection of applying to this job as I can't find any email receipts of applying there. The recruiter did give me a bunch of screening test/interview questions to answer which I did respond back to, and he also said that they are moving forward with the final stage of the interview process tomorrow. But the very next day after sending the email of my responses, he just gave me a job offer acceptance email without even setting up a virtual interview?? I'm very skeptical lol this doesn't sound legit. Does this sound like a scam? Is there a way where I can confirm that the email domain is legit?

Enhancement in The Final Shape

During the Lightfall year, players have gotten a taste of weapon enhancement with the raid Adept weapons from Root of Nightmares and Crota's End. In The Final Shape, you'll see that this system has undergone some upgrades, making enhancing your weapons easier and allowing us to comfortably expand this system to include more weapons. Here’s a quick recap on how weapon enhancement will work alongside some of the changes:

• Weapon enhancement allows the weapon to be upgraded to receive enhanced traits, a weapon level, and a memento socket. To upgrade your weapon, players can navigate to the inspection screen and insert the enhancement tier mod for standard currencies (raid Adept weapons will continue to use Spoils of Conquest).

• Enhancement Tier 1:
  
  • Replaces your Masterwork and provides the weapon with an enhanced intrinsic that matches the stat of your old Masterwork.
  • Provides a weapon level, a date when you first enhanced the weapon, and a memento socket.
  • Raid Adepts only: Since these weapons have a base-crafted version, we want the Adept versions to feel like a meaningful upgrade. Therefore, these weapons can visit the Relic on Mars to adjust their first two columns (typically barrels/magazines) in a similar fashion to how crafted weapons can augment these perk columns.
• Enhancement Tier 2 (weapon level 11 requirement):
  
  • Once the player inserts this mod, the left column trait(s) will automatically be upgraded to their enhanced perks. If you have multiple perks, this will update all traits in the column. Players will not need to visit the Relic on Mars to update these traits anymore.
• Enhancement Tier 3 (weapon level 17 requirement):
  
  • Once the player applies this mod, the right column weapon trait perks will automatically be updated to be enhanced. Like the left column, this will upgrade all of the traits present and does not require visiting the Relic.

We've heard the feedback that weapons should have more avenues to acquire enhanced traits. In The Final Shape, all new weapons will either be craftable or have access to weapon enhancement. In addition, weapons that remain active drops in the following activities will be eligible for enhancement:

• Vow of the Disciple raid Adepts
  
• Guardian Games
  
• King's Fall raid Adepts
  
• Gambit
  
• Competitive Crucible (all of them)
  
• Trials of Osiris
  
• Crucible
  
• Iron Banner
  
• Vanguard Ops
  
• Nightfalls
  
• Prophecy Dungeon
  

This will include older instances of these weapons, as long as they have an origin trait. Unfortunately, due to some technical constraints, there are a handful of weapons instances from before Season 17 that have origin traits and are active drops, but they will not be eligible for weapon enhancement. If a weapon is not actively dropping in these activities and playlists or it’s under the legacy focusing options, it will not be enhance-able when The Final Shape releases. If weapons are reissued and become a part of a playlist's active drops once again, we'll update older versions that have origin traits to enter weapon enhancement.

Mementos in The Final Shape

We've received a lot of feedback on weapon mementos, especially as new mementos have released in our seasonal events. In The Final Shape, we have a few changes coming that impact how you store mementos and apply them to your weapons.

• Crafted and enhanced weapons will no longer need to visit the Relic on Mars to apply mementos. Players can apply the memento of their choosing directly in the weapon inspection screen.
  
• Memento stack cap limits will be raised from 1 to 3.
  
• Mementos will no longer be stored alongside the player's consumables. When The Final Shape launches, your mementos under consumables will show as faded. Then, once the faded memento is dismantled, you'll see +1 memento added in the weapon inspection screen as a virtual currency. For players who figured out how to get around the original memento stack size limits, this will allow you to dismantle all those mementos safely, even if you temporarily go over the intended stack limit of three. If you are holding three (or more) of a particular memento, it will not drop again until you spend your mementos to be under the stack size limit of three.
  

Reduced Fragment Costs at Ikora In The Final Shape

Subclass Fragments purchasable from Ikora are expensive, particularly considering how many there are, especially for New Lights. In The Final Shape, we have reduced the cost of Fragments from 25000 Glimmer to 10000 Glimmer. Our goal here is to make these vital build-crafting elements more accessible for new and returning players.

The Pantheon Grows Stronger

Another week, and your task has become more difficult, Guardians. Rhulk, Disciple of the Witness, has joined The Pantheon, and we’ve gathered intel for your mission.

Fueled by rage, Rhulk sought to destroy the regime, but his bloodlust led to being ostracized from his clan. Eventually, afraid of what he’d become, his clan attempted to kill him.
  
• Decrypted records from the Pyramid indicate that the Witness made contact with Rhulk during this time, restored him, and empowered him as the first Disciple. Rhulk took his vengeance on Lubrae, annihilating its parent star and destroying the planet.
  
• Vanguard power assessments place Rhulk far above any previous enemy faced by any Guardian. Battle scholars theorize the bold fireteam that stormed the sunken Pyramid only prevailed due to Rhulk’s humoring a fight to begin with. But prevail they did.
  

OF NOTE

• Hidden cipher-sequences buried in the symbols throughout have been decrypted by a pioneering Cryptarch, thanks to countless fireteams keeping the way clear. The solved sequence is believed to be astronomical coordinates to Lubrae. (Probe dispatched… awaiting arrival.)
  
• The creation of the Hive was majorly influenced by Rhulk. The first Disciple of the Witness subjugated the Worm mother, Xita, and forced her spawn into union with the Krill, which led to the Hive species and the Hive Gods themselves.
  
• Cryptarchs have uncovered communications between Rhulk and Savathûn in which Savathûn derides Rhulk’s simplicity as a tactician. According to the Witch Queen, the first Disciple only values strength, and his downfall will be his brute force approach to every situation.
  

Zero Hour Exotic Mission Is Live

The Zero Hour Exotic mission is now live. If you haven’t jumped in yet, you can find it in the Into the Light node in the Director. Completing the mission in the required timeframe will earn you the Outbreak Perfected Exotic Pulse Rifle.

DESTINY CONTENT VAULT UPDATES

With the start of Year 7 of Destiny 2, on June 4 certain items will be deprecated from player inventories that correspond with vaulted activities and seasonal campaigns. They will then be moved into the Destiny Content Vault.
We have updated the Destiny Content Vault article to reflect these changes and created a new article fully outlining Items Being Deprecated at the Start of Year 7 for players to reference.

PARENTAL CONTROLS

Parents, guardians, and other responsible adults are now able to adjust their child’s Destiny 2 settings.
To set up parental controls, both the child and their adult need a Bungie.net account, and we will need to verify that the person providing consent and setting controls is an adult. We have created a Parental Controls Help article with details explaining how to create an account and instructions on linking it to your child's.
We have also updated our privacy policy. Please visit Bungie.net to create or manage your account and set your preferences today.

KNOWN ISSUES

While we continue investigating various known issues, here is a list of the latest issues that were reported to us in our #Help Forum:

• Capturing a zone in the Collision PvP game mode while having full super energy will slightly reduce Super energy.
  
• Tormentors can push turrets away in Onslaught with their slam or grab attacks.
  
• The Zero Deaths Triumph only unlocks when completing Zero Hour on the Legend difficulty, which should unlock on both Normal and Legend difficulties.

With the start of Year 7 of Destiny 2, on June 4 certain items will be deprecated from player inventories that correspond with vaulted activities and seasonal campaigns. They will then be moved into the Destiny Content Vault.
We have updated the Destiny Content Vault article to reflect these changes and created a new article fully outlining Items Being Deprecated at the Start of Year 7 for players to reference.

PARENTAL CONTROLS

Parents, guardians, and other responsible adults are now able to adjust their child’s Destiny 2 settings.
To set up parental controls, both the child and their adult need a Bungie.net account, and we will need to verify that the person providing consent and setting controls is an adult. We have created a Parental Controls Help article with details explaining how to create an account and instructions on linking it to your child's.
We have also updated our privacy policy. Please visit Bungie.net to create or manage your account and set your preferences today.

KNOWN ISSUES

While we continue investigating various known issues, here is a list of the latest issues that were reported to us in our #Help Forum:

• Capturing a zone in the Collision PvP game mode while having full super energy will slightly reduce Super energy.
  
• Tormentors can push turrets away in Onslaught with their slam or grab attacks.
  
• The Zero Deaths Triumph only unlocks when completing Zero Hour on the Legend difficulty, which should unlock on both Normal and Legend difficulties.

#RelistWolves x Student PIRG

Earlier this year, The #RelistWolves Campaign was proud to work with Student Public Interest Research Group (PIRG) chapters in 54 universities across 14 states to gather signatures calling on USFWS to relist wolves to the endangered species list. Below is a note from Addie Cooper and Olivia Heffernan, who led the effort at the University of Oregon and collected over 350 petition signatures in just two days!

My name is Addie Cooper and I am the current Chapter Chair of OSPIRG (Oregon Student Public Interest Research Group) at the University of Oregon (UO). We are a student-run, student-funded activist organization working to tackle environmental and social issues, on campus, statewide, and federally.
This year OSPIRG joined a nationwide campaign of students from 54 university campuses from 14 states across the country calling on Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland and U.S. Department of Fish and Wildlife (USFWS) to protect the gray wolves in the Northern Rockies by putting them back on the endangered species list!
I grew up in Idaho, a state that, unfortunately, has very few laws and policies protecting wolves and other important species. I decided to attend the University of Oregon because of the beautiful nature and diverse ecosystems that I saw on campus and all around the state. Oregon prides itself on its environmental values. Having lived here for 3 years, I now consider myself an Oregonian, and I wonder how we can pride ourselves on these environmental values when such a keystone species is on the brink of extinction, with no real plan to ensure they survive and thrive for future generations. With the National Wolf Recovery Plan set to be released in December 2025, we have an opportunity to make a change for the gray wolves and we need to do it now.
When our chapter first heard about The #RelistWolves Campaign at the Student PIRG National Student Training in August, we immediately knew we wanted to bring it back to campus. Our whole group was super excited to bring this campaign to the University of Oregon because we knew students would want to fight for the wolves! Oregon is one of the few states with a stable wolf population, so we knew we were uniquely positioned to make a difference on this issue.
When the #RelistWolves National Week of Action was announced, we saw such an excited response from the members of OSPIRG. After announcing it, we frequently received follow-up questions about the virtual kickoff and other events surrounding the campaign. When we ran our campus outreach efforts, we saw an amazing response. Calling for the protection of a species that plays a key role in maintaining our ecosystems is an easy cause to support, especially for young people who are committed to protecting the future of our planet. We ended up collecting over 350 petition signatures in just two days!
There is such a large knowledge gap about wolves and their importance as a keystone species. Many people take assumptions from folklore and fairytales and apply them to real, living creatures. Students seemed pleasantly surprised to find out that wolves manage their own population and that they are responsible for a negligible amount of farm attacks. It was so amazing to have the opportunity to connect with students from all over the country and talk with them about the wolves, debunking the common myths, and showing them cute pictures that were provided by #RelistWolves! Although USFWS failed to relist gray wolves last year, it was an important opportunity to engage hundreds of students at UO and educate them about wolves. As USFWS drafts the National Wolf Recovery Plan, we hope to continue our work growing our coalition of student advocates committed to protecting our country’s vulnerable wildlife.

I didn't get the Vision Pro for any special use case that I could finally uncover. I think of it as simply a better way to watch media, and to be able to have separate windows (multi-monitors) in a portable form factor. Ideally, I would like this to replace a laptop and be something I could do casual things on (nothing that requires special software that would only work with a Mac or Windows).
The big holdup for me is typing. I am currently typing this post on my Chromebook, it would be too irritating to do this on the Vision Pro without a physical keyboard. I will say the air-typing with fingers actually impressed me, because I guess I was expecting it to be as shitty as Quest, and also Marques Brownlee convinced me that air typing with your eyes is better than using your fingers but now I can say I disagree from my experience. But it's still a pain to type anything more than a few words on. I could probably get used to it, but I would be settling for something worse than just grabbing my Chromebook to write up something.
I can't do voice typing, my mind just doesn't work writing posts and comments with my voice, I have to think while I type and go back and change a few things and sometimes scrap sentences. I could consider getting a keyboard for it but I also hate the idea of having another physical component that sits on my lap, but it's going to be needed if I want a decent typing experience.
One idea I like is to have the virtual keyboard projected on a hard surface so you are touching something solid physically like a touchscreen (Touchscreen keyboards like on an iPad aren't too bad imo).

Hey guys,
I've been ordering using AddressPal to a UK address and an post automatically bring it to my home in Ireland (virtual address). But the seller has being charging me VAT, then An post is asking for the invoice and charging me VAT for the order total AND the VAT paid so I'm paying VAT twice and when I pay the second time it's costing more because the price on the invoice is inflated by the first VAT payment if that makes sense.
Is there any way to claim any of this back or is it just like that because I'm technically ordering 'to the UK' when I used AddressPal?

I switched to a dedicated team of thyroid specialists in March (2024). I haven't felt this great in years. No fatigue, no brain fog, little stress, I sleep great, no more depression, body pains are gone, and more. I'm 54 and have struggled with thyroid issues since my 20's or younger. For years the doctors told me it is all in my head - the single thyroid test they would do always came back normal. I found a specialist in my early 40's and felt great with the proper meds...then I moved to a different city a few years later and have struggled since.
I am now with Paloma Health (available in the U.S., countrywide). I was hesitant to go with them, because they do not take my insurance. Turns out it isn't that expensive (just a bit more than without insurance). They ran a full panel of tests (4 in total - never had this done before!). I met virtually with a doctor who focuses on thyroid. She changed the type of medication I was taking (which included T3, and it was pushing that T3 number too high). First 6 weeks of the new medication was too low a dose (though she said I should expect that to happen - she didn't want to push me into a hypo state). I took another panel of tests after that first 6 weeks, which clearly showed I have Hashimotos. She upped the dosage, and like a miracle, within a couple weeks I felt amazing!!
I had lost hope that I could ever feel this good again. I highly recommend Paloma Health! (I'm not affiliated in any way).

Sharing my experience, because I wish I had heard about experiences like mine before buying.
I chose the Olympia Express Cremina because I wanted a manual lever machine for a more physical experience of connecting with the process of making espresso. I enjoy the physical aspects of the endless search for perfection of archery and imagined a similar process with a manual lever. Also, after two pump replacements on my last machine, I appreciated the simplicity—fewer parts to break.
While shopping for a manual machine, I was struck by all the glowing reviews about the Cremina in terms of build quality in contrast with more tongue in cheek descriptions of the engineering and build quality behind Italian-made machines. The Cremina cost a lot more, but it seemed to hold its value for a very long time, so I decided to order a new machine from Cerini Coffee and have it shipped to me.
The buying experience was easy and convenient, and the box arrived quickly and extremely well packed.
I unpacked the box and set it up right away. To my chagrin, the machine wouldn’t stop hissing and spraying steam and water around the kitchen.
I emailed Cerini Coffee about the situation. Johnny Cerini wrote back the next day saying he thought it was a bad pressurestat and asking if I can install it if he sends me a new one. I agreed, since that sounded quicker and easier for me than shipping the whole machine back and forth.
The new part came a few days later. I installed it, and the machine was up and running.
I enjoyed learning to make espresso and coffee drinks with the machine as much as I thought I would. Once I got over the initial learning curve, I could consistently pull very good shots. I got into a routine of turning the machine on first thing every morning, making a few drinks over a few hours, and turning it off before noon.
Fast forward a few months…
On rare occasions, the machine would start hissing and blowing steam from the safety valve. I’d turn it off, and it would work fine the next time I wanted to use it. This became more and more frequent over time until the machine became virtually unusable by the time it was a year old.
I wondered if the new pressurestat had been slowly failing again. I looked inside the machine and also noticed burnt wiring around the power switch. So I emailed Johnny again. No response.
I called a week later and talked to Johnny on the phone. He agreed it sounded like the pressurestat failed again and said he’d get back to me. That was 72 days ago.
I followed up multiple times by email and phone to try to find out what was going on, but the only response I got back was a one line email a month ago saying they were out of pressurestats and waiting for more to arrive.
This makes me think there may be a design flaw in the current run of that part, and so they can’t keep them in stock. I suspect there are other people with expensive boat anchors on the countertop waiting for this bad part to be in stock somewhere.
Whatever the case, I regret buying this machine. I very much enjoy the machine when it works, but it doesn’t work, and the warranty service is not what I expected. Caveat Emptor.

Any tips? I resolved it last time with just time and lotion and powder and keeping clean but this time around it’s the itchiest it’s ever been. Maybe need new underwear any recommendations on that? Also did menthol powder help or hurt anyone?

Salut à tous, My goal in this post is to share my raw TAPIF experience from this year now that I’m home and have reflected. I will be listing challenges that I and others faced (I’ll be discussing the cons rather than the pros).
For reference, I’m American and was placed in primary in the Académie d’Orléans-Tours. I had already worked 8-5 in a school the previous year so I came in with a fair amount of savings and work experience working in language schools.
• You might have to act as the sole English teacher of your school(s). This includes creating curriculum sometimes from scratch with little to no guidance. The term “assistant” can be very misleading. At the primary level it is unfortunately common that you will be leading 30+ students per class while the teacher uses this time for a coffee break. Some might think you are an intervenant(e) and not an assistant(e) who takes over the whole classroom even though they have worked with assistants in the past. Even your principals might not know your role (or care). It’s your responsibility to advocate for yourself in order not to be taken advantage of and break the cycle so the next assistant doesn’t have to go through this.
• You might have a housing crisis. I arrived and spent nearly $2000 to stay in an airbnb for a month. I didn’t have a French guarantor and with the low tapif salary it is virtually impossible to find an apt through an agency. They will reject you. I did the online guarantor called “VISALE” and they granted me a max rent of 380€ a month. I applied to live with two French roommates “en coloc” but couldn’t be accepted as the rent was 450€ and VISALE granted me 380. I eventually was so desperate to have a permanent address (for bureaucratic stuff) that I found an apt on leboncoin with an independent landlord who didn’t need me to supply any guarantor. The rent only had water included and was 820€ a month (the entirety of our monthly salary). I had to, without any help, order and install the wifi and tv box and set up an electricity account through EDF. BEWARE if you didn’t know- electricity/heating in France is extremely expensive. I ended up having to keep my heat around 15 C (59 F) in order to not have the bill exceed 100€ per month during the cold months (I.e. the duration of our assistantships). When I moved out 2 weeks ago, the landlord blew up on me saying everything was “dégueulasse” or disgustingly filthy- which surprise it wasn’t- it’s a typical tactic to take money out of your initial deposit (dépôt de garantie), which he plans on doing. You will be vulnerable as a foreigner in this position. I would recommend NOT renting an apt by yourself unless it’s last resort as it was for me.
• The nature of the program can be VERY isolating. As others have emphasized, this is NOT any way similar to a study abroad. No one is keeping tabs on you or making sure you are adjusting well. Depending on your schools and schedule, you might not be able to form close relationships with your colleagues either. You MUST be okay with spending time by yourself in a foreign country. Many people end up leaving at Christmas because of these difficulties, usually citing they have a “family situation” to tend to back at home. I encourage you, if single, to try to befriend or date French nationals, as it will provide extra support and protection to you as a foreigner living in France.
• Mental Health- just to expand on my point above, you will need decent mental health to complete this program. If you are on medication it’s best to see if you can ween off before coming to France as certain meds are hard to find or impossible for doctors to prescribe. For example, adderall, for ADHD, is virtually impossible to have prescribed in Europe.
• Seasonal Depression- Unless you are from the Pacific Northwest in the US, you are more than likely going to experience some seasonal depression as the majority of France becomes very gloomy during the months of the assistantship. If you are from California, Florida, or anywhere in the south or southwest, you will more than likely miss seeing the sun more than once every two weeks. In my region, it wasn’t uncommon for it to rain several times a week with no glimpse of the sun. Of course, if you are placed in the Côte d’Azur or DOM TOMs this will not apply to you.
• Incompetent Prof Refs/Conseillère Pédagogique–your person of contact who will meet with at the beginning of the program may very well be misinformed and useless. I was told by people at my rectorat that I wouldn’t receive my carte vitale (health insurance) as it’s only for French nationals. When I tried to explain that we are all entitled to health insurance with this job they became hostile towards me. Again ADVOCATE for yourself!!! I learned more from the WhatsApp chat and Facebook group than I ever did asking my schools or local rectorat for help. I would have literally NEVER received my carte vitale if I had listened to my “superiors” in this program. They told me incorrect things several times.

For those who had an endoscopy, how long did you have to wait for the results?
I had my endoscopy/colonoscopy on May 2nd and found out yesterday that my GI wants to have a virtual appointment on June 10th to discuss results. I still haven't heard confirmation of celiac or even an initial assessment of what they found during the endoscopy and when I asked if I needed to switch to a GF diet they told me "it wouldn't hurt".
I am just wondering whether this is normal or not.
***Update:
1) Post-Procedure notes state: "probable celiac" 2) The Pathology Report states: - "Duodenum, 2nd portion, biopsy: Enteric mucosa with chronic enteritis, ~villous blunting~, and increased intraepithelial lymphocytes.", and Gross Description: "3/1/~NG~" - "Duodenum , bulb, biopsy: Duodenal mucosa with chronic enteritis, ~villous blunting~, and increased intraepithelial lymphocytes.", and Gross Description: "2/1/~NG~" - "Post-Operative Diagnosis O ~Celiac~ and colon polyp"
From what I can find online, villous blunting is consistent with celiac however "O" stands for Rule Out and "NG" is a negative result. So what does it mean if I have villous blunting BUT celiac test comes back negative? Either way guess I will find out on June 10th...

Good morning (here)
I have a windows 2012 r2 server that was shutdown do to a power outage via the UPS when it ran out. When the server was brought back online after power was restored the "Data" drive (Disk 1) shows as offline/Unallocated in Disk Management.
I've tried the suggestions here. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/windows-servebackup-and-storage/troubleshoot-disk-management#disks-that-are-missing-or-not-initialized
I've done a diskpart and list disk, but Disk 1 is missing.
Is there a way to get Disk 1 back online with out having to re-Initialize Disk?
