Fishbones menu
Is this really fishbones of a shark?
2024.05.01 12:55 Bastianoso Is this really fishbones of a shark?
| I was in Kyōto in a restaurant and ate their special lunch menu with a lot of small things. One was this pictured above and after asking, what I understood was, that’s it’s the fishbone of sharks?! I can’t really believe it so can someone tell me what I ate? It tasted a little bit like gristle, hard to bite but possible and very salty. I think it might have been fermented? I’m not sure. The small spikes you can see should be the fishbone but I can’t imagine that it’s really this. Why should I eat fishbone? Was tasty nonetheless, so, what was it? submitted by Bastianoso to JapaneseFood [link] [comments] |
2024.04.16 04:56 mmmb2y 20 new artifacts being added in patch 14.9
https://twitter.com/TFT/status/1780048351574229093 Be sure to experiment with these powerful additions that come to PBE (soon) and live with Patch 14.9. To help you cook, we’re making EVERY PBE GAME over the weekend have 1 PORTAL OPTION for Artifact Anvil! Spoilers threaded:
8 revealed today, 12 more to be revealed soon
https://twitter.com/TFT/status/1780048353214251230 Luden’s Tempest makes your overkill damage hit the three enemies nearest the target. Can you imagine rerolling Caitlyn early game with this!?
Wit’s End causes attacks to deal a bonus 42 magic damage, and heal for a portion of ALL magic damage dealt. 42 sounds important…
https://twitter.com/TFT/status/1780048355026161918 Blighting Jewel makes the wearer’s magic damage reduce enemy MR. If they hit 0 MR, the holder gains Mana instead.
Cursed Blade is back. Attacks reduce the target’s max Health, and if they’re hit 13 times, their star level is reduced by 1 for the rest of combat—unlucky.
https://twitter.com/TFT/status/1780048356930445606 Rapid Firecannon is back on the menu melee carries! Gain 1 Attack Range, and increase the range with every kill you rack up!
Every few seconds Lightshield Crest shields the lowest percent health ally for a portion of the holder’s resistances. On death, this shields all allies.
https://twitter.com/TFT/status/1780048358826225977 Spectral Cutlass teleports the holder to the mirrored hex on the enemy’s side of the board. After a few seconds, they teleport back… they never saw it coming
Fishbones doubles the holder’s attack range, but it also causes each of their attacks to target a random enemy… yikes.
https://twitter.com/TFT/status/1780048360554234277 Awesome stuff, and there are 12 more to discover, too! Let us know what your OP theorycraft is. (We promise we won’t nerf; we just want the LP)
sounds exciting, but also sounds a bit nightmarish for competitive. there's gonna be a lot of BiS artifact builds and i guess ornn anvils are gonna be a priority augment again

2022.05.20 02:12 Stratelier Tell me I'm playing this game wrong.
Because it's either that, or the game repeatedly fails to communicate some mechanics required to make meaningful progression.
I do want to like this game (i.e. I still feel determined to overcome/solve whatever I'm missing currently) but the experience is, no pun intended, bogged down by some criticisms (I won't assume the developer is necessarily here to listen, but I need to get them out of my head nonetheless):
1 - Text size and UI elements in general are too small for playing this on Switch in Handheld mode. I'm not attached to a 32" TV/monitor, I'm staring at a screen only 3" from top to bottom and the text size needs to be at least 10% of that (about 1/4") for readability.
Many UI elements (not all, certainly, but many!) leave enough open screen space that they could be rendered at up to 2x their current size. I know scalable UI design is a challenge, but the default text size of ~20 pixels tall is just too dang small for a handheld screen and, really, when your distribution plans include a portable/mobile system this needs to be taken much more seriously than when the game is distributed just for non-portable platforms. Can this be made an option in the game's settings (Text size: Default - Large) ?
2 - It took me almost five hours before I could start crafting ANY potions whatsoever. Which sounds like it's a "me" problem, but hold that thought for a sec: The tutorial quest for crafting a basic Healing Potion (Berries + Shells + Aloe) entails collecting and researching 3 eggshells before you can use them as a (quite important) ingredient in crafting, but for whatever reason I only found 2 eggshells in basecamp -- I had to venture out into the randomly-populated Wasteland to gather the rest, and THAT is what required several more hours to complete. Ironically, I was able to start crafting (stronger!) Potions at least one full hour before completing this "tutorial" because I discovered a renewable source of Fishbones and had completed their research first!
If this was by design, I would have appreciated this tutorial hinting that I'll need to gather materials in the Wasteland, because literally everything else could be gathered at camp. Seriously, I was stuck at an objective reading "Research Eggshells (2/3)" for FAR too long.
3 - Please include tutorial information in the Journal for the player's future reference. One of the worst things that can happen playing a game is if you put it down for long enough that by the time you return, you've forgotten much of how to actually play it, and it may be better to restart the whole game just to get re-taught those super basics. Or maybe I wasn't paying enough attention when the game gave me that one-time popup with tutorial information and something just didn't stick. Either way, the less I have to consult an external venue (ahem) to learn something I should've been able to discover myself in-game, the better.
4 - The default Switch button mapping of (A = Sprint, B = Interact) really needs to be swapped because it runs contrary to menu navigation (A = confirm, B = cancel).
This is unique to the Switch version only, because the default mapping on PS5 is (Cross = Interact, Circle = Sprint) and (Cross = menu confirm, Circle = menu cancel). That is, the menu buttons are reversed between Switch and PS5 but the gameplay buttons are not (so take a guess where this is going...).
Every time I want to craft anything on Switch I press B to activate the crafting station menu, then NOT press B while navigating its menu or I will cancel out. Which happens maybe 1 of every 3 menus, even with me having otherwise learned the controls!
Fortunately remapping the controls so (A = Interact) and (B = Sprint) completely solves the issue making the controls more consistent with other platforms like PS5 -- i.e. the button I use to interact with something is the same button I use to navigate menus, and now the world makes sense!
...
Ah, it feels nice to just get that stated.
Edits for other minor criticisms and annoyances:
5 - Related to the previous point: When you "Discover" a creature, can this infopanel close automatically after a few seconds, or when walking some distance away from the creature inspected? If there are several creatures clustered together (such as after a tense fight) then the default Switch button mappings cause a feedback loop where pressing B to close this panel also causes you to inspect a different creature and pop up their panel instead. (Which is NOT the case on PS5, only on Switch)
Switch Wardens, go swap your A and B buttons now! You'll be glad you did.
6 - Please disable "Take all" (Y button) while accessing the Storage Chests. I respect this can be a very helpful shortcut when dealing with loot chests (or recovering your lost items) out in the wild (especially if under pressure by hostile creatures), but you NEVER want to press this button when navigating the Storage Chest. Ever. Don't even joke about it.
6b - The Storage Chest is not helped by Y button being "Use/Consume" on "your" half of the storage screen (as is standard when viewing your inventory normally). You can't use/consume items directly from storage, and as a design issue you should avoid mapping different actions to the same button in situations where they might easily get confused. (Yeah, I tried consuming a food item directly from the storage chest once. That's the kind of mistake you never repeat.)
7 - I can't figure out if the Potions list has any sorting or not. By the time I have a dozen or so different types of Potions in storage, trying to retrieve the right one (or even assess whether I have it or need to brew another) is a growing frustration.
8 - I've encountered several crashes (i.e. "the software was closed because an error occurred") seemingly in the proximity of hostile Soul Eaters. Sorry that I am unable to add more information, I am not live recording as I play (handheld mode, remember) and the Switch's standard video capture doesn't work after a crash.

Sea of Thieves Season 6: Official Content Update Bug Reports Megathread Official Content Update Video discussions thread Fort Process: Official Deep Dive Video discussions thread
The latest Season is upon us, with brand new content set to drop throughout! Season Six solidifies six new Sea Forts for on-demand combat encounters, offers another time-limited Adventure to embark upon and sets expectations for an upcoming Voyage exclusive to Pirate Legends.
Sea Forts
The ghostly memories of Spanish naval Sea Forts sighted in the wake of ‘Shrouded Islands’ have now fully manifested within the Sea of Thieves. Pirates and their crews are welcome to approach, enter and – if they can – clear a path to the loot inside!
Sea Fort Gameplay
- Six explorable Sea Forts can now be found across the seas, with those of each region having a unique visual style. These Sea Forts provide a short on-demand encounter for players, with difficulty scaling dynamically based on the crew size approaching.
- When a Sea Fort is located, the raised flag and ghostly lights signify that it is active and defended. On approach, players will hear a warning bell toll as Phantoms take aim with the Fort’s cannons.
- Players will face off against waves of Phantoms as they enter and explore. Before a Sea Fort is cleared, a Captain will appear reinforced by Phantoms in one last attempt to force intruders back to the sea. Players who defeat this Captain and his army will be awarded the Treasury Key to access the Fort Treasury and retrieve the spoils.
- Players who take the time to search through crates, cupboards and drawers may discover secret stashes of treasure left behind by the Phantoms, and may even find a hidden key to the locked storage room.
Claiming a Sea Fort
- When a Sea Fort is cleared, you can treat it as your own for as long as the successful crew resides at the Fort. Crews can use these new structures as a homestead, complete with beds and cooking amenities and even an interactive map of the Sea of Thieves for planning their next adventure!
- Crews looking to protect their newly claimed domain can opt to hold the Fort and defend it from incoming threats using the mounted cannons and a healthy stash of resources within the Sea Fort’s barrels.
Sea Fort Commendations and Achievements
- Within the Bilge Rats Reputation tab, new Commendations have been added for players seeking to explore these new Sea Fort structures pulled through from the Sea of the Damned.
- New Xbox and Steam achievements can be unlocked by progressing through the new in-game Commendations. A total of 65 gamerscore is available to earn from this update, and these achievements will remain in the game indefinitely.

Closing The Arena
Also taking place at the start of Season Six is the closure of The Arena. From March 10th 2022, this mode will no longer be available in
Sea of Thieves. Find out more below, and get the full story behind this decision in our
Saying Goodbye to The Arena news post.
Sea Dogs Reputation
- The Sea Dogs Reputation pane in the Pirate’s Log will now only be visible for players who have earned a Sea Dogs Commendation, celebrating players’ accomplishments while hiding Commendations that can no longer be obtained.
- For players who can access this Reputation pane, the previous Company progress summary has now been repurposed into a Battle Record, representing accomplishments within The Arena. Within the Battle Record, players will now only see Commendations that have been completed. Any Commendations not yet started or completed will no longer be visible.
- Within the Athena’s Fortune Reputation pane, the Legendary Sea Dog Commendation will be visible for players who have earned it while remaining hidden for players who have not met those criteria.
Sea Dogs Rewards
- Although The Arena has been closed, players will retain all unlocked Titles tied to level progress within the Sea Dogs Trading Company, along with any unlocked cosmetics.
- Players who reached Sea Dogs rank 5 prior to the announcement of the closure will find themselves gifted the Azure Scout, Flaming Jackal, Golden Chaser, Lucky Rover and Regal Hound ship cosmetics for general use. Sea Dog veterans who reached rank 50 will also be able to equip the Good Boy ship cosmetics from the Shipwright’s Chest.
- Players who achieved the necessary criteria to purchase Sea Dogs Titles and cosmetics have not yet missed their chance to collect them. The Outpost stores now hold all the Sea Dogs Company rewards, and players will find them collectable if they met the necessary unlock requirements before the announcement of The Arena’s closure.Players with multiple promotions and rewards to purchase may need to exit and re-enter the shop after purchasing a promotion before the next rank’s items become visible.
Sea Dogs Achievements
- Xbox and Steam achievements for the Sea Dogs Trading Company are no longer earnable. Players on Xbox will see these achievements now marked as Legacy, while players on Steam will no longer find these achievements visible.
- The Master of the Arena and Glorious Sea Dog achievements are still unlockable by players who obtained the necessary ranks prior to The Arena’s closure. After logging in, eligible players can collect the required promotions and items and unlock these two achievements.

2021.12.27 04:40 Mossysnail27 [no spoilers] 🐌 Caitlyn's Winter Gift
Caitlyn was hard at work on her daily patrol route doing selfless things like helping elders cross the street, and directing traffic for a bit while the watchman needed a break. All of a sudden she was picked up by a strong looking pink haired woman
"Vi...! i'm on shift right now you can't carry me around like luggage whenever you feel like it!" Caitlyn shouted
Vi laughed at her as she carried caitlyn down the sidewalk towards a little eatery
"Oh, come on Cupcake you gotta take a break sometime!" Vi jokingly said
"Fine... but no slop for lunch.." Caitlyn said annoyed
Vi nodded still smiling at her, and a moment later they had arrived at a nice cafe with lovely decor
"Wait, Vi why are we at this place...?" Caitlyn said confused
Vi sat caitlyn down in a booth putting a cloth napkin on her lap then gave her a menu
"We just wanted to give you a winter gift for all the cool stuff you've done for everybody!" Vi said giving a thumb up
Caitlyn gasped, and smiled holding vi's face towards her's, and said "Oh, vi you're so sweet...!, but who else did you get to help organize all of this? And where's the staff?
As vi was about to explain a blue haired young woman wearing a decorative cafe apron holding a notepad with an annoyed look on her face walked over
"Hey... what do you want for your stupid face hole today..." Jinx said with a blank expression
"Hello, Jinx. Oh, did you decorate that apron yourself? it's quite a charming pair of colors!"
*Jinx stared at Caitlyn for a moment, and then said "*You... actually like it... wow... thanks i guess..."
"I didn't see it yet pow pow, you did a nice job" Vi said putting her hand on jinx's shoulder
"Yeah, cool great... now what do you want...?" Jinx glared at both of them
"I'd love an Ionian blend, and two scones" Caitlyn nodded at her
"Just the normal coffee for me sis thanks!" Vi said patting Jinx on the head
Jinx annoyingly went to the back, and got the orders together bringing them out for Caitlyn, and Vi
"Thank you Jinx this looks splendid" Said Caitlyn
"Awesome work sis!" Vi said clapping
"Yeah... uh huh... oh, one more thing!"
Jinx placed a somewhat large cupcake in the center of their table grinning
"It's gotta cool off... for five minutes so don't touch...!" Jinx said walking away
"Aww, see Cupcake? she even made you your namesake!" Vi said laughing
"So she did vi... so she did" Caitlyn rolled her eyes, and smiled then took a nice sip of her coffee
Caitlyn, and Vi spent a good while talking to each other, and enjoying themselves
"My goodness, you certainly know how to brawl vi" she said
"Cupcake you don't even know the half of it. I gotta tell you more later if that caught your interests!"
Caitlyn noticed the cupcake jinx had left them a while ago
"Well, want to see how good your sister's baking is?" Caitlyn asked
"Sure i feel bad just leaving it there, so i'll have a bite!" Said vi confidently picking it up
Suddenly Jinx's voice began to come out of the strange pastry
"Thank you for eating at Cafe De Fishbones we hope you had a blast...!"
"What a... charming na-"
Caitlyn was interrupted by a massive explosion of pink, and blue icing that came from the cupcake vi was holding causing a very large mess
Caitlyn wiped the icing off her eyes groaning a little "Vi? are you alright?!"
"Yeah... i'm ok oh, here you got a little something..." Vi said giving caitlyn a napkin, and nodded
Caitlyn took the napkin, and let out a laugh covering her mouth
"Hey..! what are you laughing about?! i was being polite...!" Vi said annoyed
"Yes you were, but i think a fire hose would be more appropriate right now!
Caitlyn used the napkin to wipe vi's face off a bit
"I'm sorry Powder ruined your gift Cupcake..." vi said looking down
Caitlyn lightly tilted vi's head up towards her's, smiling and said "Vi, as long as we're together... nothing is ever ruined"
"That's so sweet just like you cupcake." Vi said blushing, and used her finger to take pink icing off of Caitlyn's nose then ate it
"Oh, Shut up!..." Caitlyn said blushing
Vi began to laugh really hard, and shortly after Caitlyn put her head down and began to laugh too
"Hey, nerds did you like the food or not...?!" jinx said as she ran in, but then she slipped onto her face because the icing made the floor very slippery
Caitlyn sat up, and looked down at Jinx, with vi
Jinx raised her arm in the air, and said "I'm still alive...!"
Caitlyn locked eyes with vi, and then both of them bursted into laughter laying on each other in the booth
🐌: *crawls over while eating a cookie* That's the end of the story everybody thanks for reading Happy Holidays!

2020.11.12 21:12 -Makin_Bacon Jinx moveset concept
I know this is never gonna happen, and if a League of Legends champion did get in, it'd probably be someone like Ahri, Ryze or Master Yi, but I'd prefer Jinx. Also, my wording is presenting this as what is going to happen, but know I mean this as a hypothetical idea. Also also, this is probably ass, I haven't done many of these
Gimmicks: Jinx is able to level up as the match goes on, increasing her movement speed, attack damage, defense and allowing her to upgrade one of her special moves (Except up-b). It won't increase her knockback or kill power however. If Jinx suffers a KO, she is sent back two levels. She gains EXP by dealing damage to enemies, and gets a large amount of EXP if she KOs someone. Her current level is displayed by her icon in a match. Her level caps at 20.
Jinx is also be able to buy items with gold. A shop icon will appear after Jinx respawns, allowing her to purchase items to further increase her stats. The menu can be navigated with the D-Pad or by holding B while moving the control stick (mostly so it could work with sideways joycons). Items cost gold, which Jinx can accumulate by dealing damage to enemies. If Jinx suffers a KO, she looses a bit of gold. If Jinx KOs someone, she gets extra gold. In a time battle, if an enemy has a large number of points, they gain a shutdown bonus, meaning Jinx gets more gold if she KOs them before anyone else does.
Jinx has a mana bar, similarly to Hero's MP meter. Like Hero's, it will decrease as Jinx uses special moves or her jab, side-tilt or nair with Fishbones (See neutral special)
Jinx gets extra movement speed for 10 seconds after KOing an enemy
And lastly for gimmicks, Jinx will say different lines throughout battle as she does in League of Legends
Special moves
Neutral special: "Switcheroo!" Jinx switches between her minigun Pow-Pow and her rocket launcher Fishbones, starting the match with Pow-Pow equipped. Pow-Pow has more attack speed, which increases with successive hits up to three stacks that lasts until Jinx stops attacking or uses a different move. Fishbones has more range, damage and deals splash damage, but each rocket costs mana, and the move is slower overall. Leveling up this move increases Fishbones' range and damage and Pow-Pow's attack speed
Side Special: "Zap!" Jinx fires her stun gun Zap. It flies a good distance, and if it collides with an enemy, they're slowed down. The damage and amount their slowed down increases as Jinx levels the move
Up special: "Recall" Jinx rides her rocket a good distance upward. It can be angled to the side, and can even travel horizontally similarly to Pit's. It deals a small amount of damage and knockback to anyone near the end of Fishbones. This move costs no mana and cannot be leveled up.
Down special: "Flame Chompers!" Jinx throws down a bomb that stay in place until either an enemy steps on it, causing them to be stunned for a moment before being launched back, or until they automatically detonate after 5 seconds. Leveling up the move increases the damage, but not stun time.
Grounded moves
Jab: Jinx fires whichever weapon is currently equipped.
Side tilt: Similar to Steve or Mega Man, Jinx doesn't have a side tilt, instead moving while firing her weapon
Up tilt: Jinx does a simple uppercut, hitting enemies in front of her upwards
Down tilt: Jinx does a simple leg sweep
Smash attacks:
F-Smash: Jinx fires a more powerful rocket a short distance forward, scaling in range and damage with the level of Switcheroo!
Up-Smash: Jinx crouches down and fires a rocket upwards a short distance, similar to Snake's, except the rocket doesn't come back down. Like F-Smash, it scales with Switcheroo!'s level
Down-Smash: Jinx fires a rocket at the ground point blank, similar to Snake's F-Smash. It deals more damage and knockback than Jinx's F-Smash. It scales only in damage with Switcheroo!'s level
Aerials
Nair: Like Steve and Mega Man, Jinx has no nair, instead using her jab in the air. She can move slightly while using it
Fair: Jinx does a drop kick forward
Bair: Jinx swings whichever weapon she has currently equipped backwards. The weapon used does not change the attack and is only visual
Up-Air: Jinx does a flip kick, hitting above herself
Dair: Jinx slams her weapon down before firing it. The initial hitbox has a spike sweet spot. If she uses Pow-Pow, she fires a spread of bullets that deal flinching damage. If she uses Fishbones, she fires a rocket that uses mana and travels slower, but has more knockback and splash damage
Final Smash (I actually have two ideas for this)
Idea 1: "Super Mega Death Rocket!" Jinx fires off a gigantic missile, causing a huge explosion. Anyone caught in the explosion gets dealt a ton of damage and knockback. The move does use mana, but unlike in League of Legends, cannot be upgraded
Idea 2. "Get Jinxed" Jinx fires a large rocket foward. Anyone caught is sent to a cutscene final smash in Zaun (Or Piltover, I'm not entirely sure) atop a large building where Jinx will then ride in on a giant rocket surrounded by a fleet of rockets. The foes are then sent flying after wards. Despite being a kamikaze move, no damage is dealt to Jinx.
Taunts
Up taunt: Jinx does her dance from League of Legends, waving her hands side to side. It can go indefinitely unless Jinx is knocked back or cancels it herself with another action
Side taunt: Jinx puppets Fishbones, having him say something moral or giving good advice, before punching him. She can have a variety of lines to say during this taunt
Down taunt: Jinx laughs, doing her animation from League of Legends
Stage entrance: Jinx drops down from seemingly nowhere, then catches Pow-Pow
Alternate costumes (Each one would be a costume from League of Legends, if not colors referencing them. Each one would also change some of her lines and taunts)
- Default Jinx
- Crime City Jinx
- Firecracker Jinx
- Zombie Slayer Jinx
- Star Guardian Jinx
- Ambitious Elf Jinx
- Odyssey Jinx
- PROJECT: Jinx
Victory screens
- Jinx stands atop a pile of "dead" robots and poses with Pow-Pow
- Explosions sound all around Jinx while she looks around at them, smiling with glee
- Jinx blocks out most the screen with purple graffiti that reads "X WUZ HERE"
Victory fanfare: A small portion of Get Jinxed, her theme song. If she's wearing her Star Guardian costume, it will instead be a small portion of Burning Bright (With both the English and Japanese versions playing depending on what the language is set to)

One Wasteland
- With today’s update, we’re excited to introduce One Wasteland to Fallout 76, which allows creatures to dynamically adjust their levels up or down on the fly to more closely match each player they encounter.
- If multiple players all come across the same enemy at the same time, its level will simultaneously rise for the higher-level players and drop for the lower-level players.
- In addition to their levels, each creature’s damage, health, and resistances, as well as the loot they drop and the XP they award, will also better match each player.
- This means that all players who are adventuring together can have an impact on any given combat encounter, even if there is a large level gap between them.
- While creatures will still have minimum and maximum levels, such as a max of level 50 in The Forest, they are now much more flexible overall.
- One Wasteland opens up more opportunities to adventure anywhere in Appalachia, whether alone or with your friends. It also smooths out some of the early game bumps for new players, allows higher-level players to get max-level loot in previously lower-level regions, and should offer more consistent combat encounters for everyone.
- Catch even more details by reading our recent One Wasteland Preview article on Fallout.com.
New Season, Board, & Rewards
- Join Armor Ace and the Power Patrol in their march against the oppressive Subjugator and his army of Red Viper minions during Fallout 76 Season 2, which begins today!
- Season 2 brings the all-new “Armor Ace” S.C.O.R.E.board to the game, featuring 100 ranks for you to achieve during the next 10 weeks.
- We’ve added a host of rewards that you will unlock as you rank up, including new Power Armor paints, Armor and Weapon Skins, themed cosmetics, C.A.M.P. items, in-game currencies, Perk Card Packs, and more.
- We’ve made several adjustments this Season that you may want to keep in mind as you dive in:
- Rank-ups will be purchasable immediately, so those who would like to rank up using Atoms can join the fight to crush the Red Vipers starting today.
- We’ve implemented some new Daily and Weekly Challenges, such as Daily Ops themed Challenges, to offer you even more day-to-day variety as you rank up.
- We’re also adding more Weeklies to the Challenge lineup so you have more flexibility to progress on your schedule.
- Finally, we’ve made several of last Season’s rewards, like Lunchboxes, the Ammo Converter, available at Gold Bullion vendors so players who missed them have another opportunity to unlock them.
- Head to the Seasons page on Fallout.com and read our recent Season 2 Preview article to get more information about Season 2, as well as a look at the rewards that will be up for grabs.
Daily Ops
Put your skills to the test by taking on instanced, randomized, and repeatable encounters called “Daily Ops.” Daily Ops are fairly challenging, and so we recommend them for characters who are level 50+. * Our first Game Mode for Daily Ops is called “Uplink,” which will require you to secure a series of Uplinks to track down and destroy enemies that are threats to Appalachia. * In Daily Ops, you’ll square off against enemies from a single faction who are affected by a unique “mutation,” which will make them deadlier and more challenging to take down. * Complete your objectives, eliminate the enemy threat, and you will be rewarded for your efforts to make Appalachia a safe place for everyone. * To join a Daily Op, open the Map screen and find the new World Activity tracker we’ve added in the lower-left corner. * Select a Daily Op from the list to learn more about it, including which location, enemies, and mutations you’ll face. * Enter Daily Ops directly from the tracker by clicking the “Join” button. * You can take on Daily Ops alone or in a team of up to four other players. * Each day, Daily Ops will feature a fresh combination of location, enemy faction, and enemy mutations to keep you on your toes. *
Locations: The Burrows, The Burning Mine, Valley Galleria, or Vault 94 *
Enemy Factions: Super Mutants, Blood Eagles, or Robots *
Enemy Mutations: *
Piercing Gaze: This mutation is always applied to enemies the “Uplink” Daily Ops mode, and gives them greatly enhanced perception of players. *
Volatile: Enemies will explode on death *
Active Camouflage: Enemies will be cloaked when not attacking *
Resilient: Enemies can only be killed by a melee attack *
Freezing Touch: Enemy attacks will freeze players * Since you will be facing constant combat and deadly threats during your Operations, we’ve reduced the condition damage taken by your weapons and armor by 50% while in a Daily Op. * Like the event “A Colossal Problem,” creatures in Daily Ops will drop ammo based on the weapons you’re using when you take them down. This will help keep your ammo reserves topped off through lots of combat. * You can repeat Daily Ops as often as you’d like each day, and you will receive a base set of rewards every time you complete one. However, there are three additional reward tiers that you can reach once per day by completing a Daily Op within certain time limits: *
Initiate Tier: 16 minutes or less *
Paladin Tier: 12 minutes or less *
Elder Tier: 8 minutes or less * The higher the tier you achieve, the higher your chances to get better rewards, including more XP, larger amounts of in-game currencies, legendary items, and even brand-new items like the War Glaive, which is a customizable two-handed melee weapon. * After finishing a Daily Op, you’ll be able to view an Operation Report, which shows you how fast you managed to complete it, which reward tiers you reached, and a list of the rewards you earned (except for XP and currencies).
Legendary Perks
Legendary Perks are new high-level Perk Cards for players who have reached level 50+, which will help you add even more power and build diversity to your characters. * We’ve added a new “Legendary Perks” button to the top of the normal Perk Card Menu, which you can use to access and modify your Legendary Perk Slots and Cards. * You will unlock your first Legendary Perk Slot at level 50, and up to 6 slots in total at certain level milestones after that: 75, 100, 150, 200, and 300. * If you already have high-level characters, they will immediately have access to one Legendary Perk Slot for each of the above milestones they've reached. * For example, a level 250 character will have access to 5 Legendary Perk slots, and will gain a 6th slot at level 300. * One Legendary Perk Card can be equipped to each slot, and you can unequip them at any time in exchange for 1 Perk Coin (more on Perk Coins below). * Legendary Perk Slots are account-wide, and will be available to all of your characters as soon as you unlock them. * Even your characters below level 50 will be able to equip Legendary Perks in these slots, which gives them access to more power at an earlier stage of the game than your higher-level characters had at that level. * With Legendary Perks, we’re introducing “Perk Coins,” which you can use to increase the power of your Legendary Perk Cards by upgrading them. * Earn Perk Coins by scrapping your unused normal Perk Cards. Each Perk Card you scrap will grant you 2 Perk Coins per rank. * For example: When you scrap a rank 1 Perk Card, you’ll receive 2 Perk Coins, and scrapping a rank 3 Perk Card will award 6 Perk Coins. * Each Legendary Perk Card can be upgraded up to three times, at a price of 50, 100, and 150 Perk Coins to reach ranks 2, 3, and 4, respectively. * While Legendary Perk Slots you’ve unlocked are account-wide, your Legendary Perk Selections and upgrades are separate for each of your characters. * To help give your Perk Coin collection a boost, we’ve added a “Become Legendary” Challenge to the Character Challenge Menu, which awards 50 Perk Coins to characters who reach level 50. *
Please note: If your characters are already level 50+, this Challenge will already be completed for them the next time you log in, and the 50 Perk Coin reward will be added to your Perk Coin total automatically.
Design Updates
General
- Fast Travel: It is now free to Fast Travel to Foundation and Crater.
Combat
- Bonus Damage: We’ve changed the way that damage bonuses are calculated so that they now apply additively instead of multiplicatively.
- Please Note: While stacking damage bonuses will now have a smaller overall effect on your damage output than before, these changes will make the resulting damage much more predictable and allow for future improvements. This is very important for the health of the game going forward. It will also create better opportunities for us to make smarter and more effective balance changes.
- We are still evaluating feedback we gathered on these changes from the PTS, but we also welcome your thoughts on how different weapons and builds feel after today’s update so that we can make additional adjustments in the future.
Items
- Alien Blaster: Damage increased by 30%.
- Legendary Weapons: The Assassin’s legendary attribute now applies its bonus damage to human NPCs.
- Secret Service Armor: Plans for Light and Ultra-Light Limb Mods for Secret Service Armor have been added, and they are now purchasable from Regs in Vault 79.
- Shishkebab: Now deals Fire damage instead of Energy damage.
Perks
- Modern Renegade: Increased Modern Renegade's chance to cripple limbs from 2%/3%/4% to 4%/8%/12%.
- Tank Killer: Pistols now benefit from the Tank Killer Perk Card.
User Interface
- Public Teams: We've renamed the "Building" team to "Casual" and removed the Casual team bonus. In its place, we’ve added a “Daily Ops” team type, which offers bonus XP for completing Daily Ops (+25% bonus XP to start, +100% bonus XP for a fully bonded team).
- We did this in part because it is not possible to build in Public Teammates' C.A.M.P.s., and partly because most players were using the Building team the way we had intended Casual to be used anyway.
- Removing the Casual team option, it made room for us to add the new Daily Ops team type, which we feel players will find more useful following today’s update.
World
- Vault 94: Is now accessible during world exploration in Adventure Mode and Private Worlds.
- Vault 51: We've added a new no-C.A.M.P. zone around Vault 51's exterior in preparation for future content.

- Respawn: Implemented a fix to reduce cases where players could become unable to respawn after being killed during an event or in an interior.
- Please Note: This fix may not address all situations that can cause this issue to occur, but it should help, and we are continuing to work on a more complete fix.
Enemies
- Scorchbeast Queen: The Scorchbeast Queen’s wings can now be crippled to cause her to land, and her legs can be crippled to slightly reduce her rotation speed.
Items
- Aid: Fixed an issue in which players were unable to die from Radiation damage while affected by +Max Health buffs, like those offered by Buffout, Bufftats, and Psychobuff.
- Aid: Mud Cookie, Swamp Tofu, and all Omelette Recipes no longer incorrectly appear in the Cooking Station’s Meat category.

- Power Armor: Fixed an issue in which Power Armor with the Junkyard Paint was not providing the correct amount of Radiation Resistance.
- Shotguns: Fixed an issue affecting Suppressor Shotgun Mods that could cause the weapon’s range value to be negative.
- Underarmor: Secret Service Underarmor Lining Mods can now be correctly applied to Camo Secret Service Underarmor.
- Underarmor: Fixed an issue that allowed players to craft the Camo Secret Service Underarmor without knowing the Secret Service Underarmor Recipe.

- To join a Daily Op, open the Map screen and find the new World Activity tracker we’ve added in the lower-left corner.
- Select a Daily Op from the list to learn more about it, including which location, enemies, and mutations you’ll face.
- Enter Daily Ops directly from the tracker by clicking the “Join” button.
- You can take on Daily Ops alone or in a team of up to four other players.
- Each day, Daily Ops will feature a fresh combination of location, enemy faction, and enemy mutations to keep you on your toes.
- Locations: The Burrows, The Burning Mine, Valley Galleria, or Vault 94
- Enemy Factions: Super Mutants, Blood Eagles, or Robots
- Enemy Mutations:
- Piercing Gaze: This mutation is always applied to enemies the “Uplink” Daily Ops mode, and gives them greatly enhanced perception of players.
- Volatile: Enemies will explode on death
- Active Camouflage: Enemies will be cloaked when not attacking
- Resilient: Enemies can only be killed by a melee attack
- Freezing Touch: Enemy attacks will freeze players
- Since you will be facing constant combat and deadly threats during your Operations, we’ve reduced the condition damage taken by your weapons and armor by 50% while in a Daily Op.
- Like the event “A Colossal Problem,” creatures in Daily Ops will drop ammo based on the weapons you’re using when you take them down. This will help keep your ammo reserves topped off through lots of combat.
- You can repeat Daily Ops as often as you’d like each day, and you will receive a base set of rewards every time you complete one. However, there are three additional reward tiers that you can reach once per day by completing a Daily Op within certain time limits:
- Initiate Tier: 16 minutes or less
- Paladin Tier: 12 minutes or less
- Elder Tier: 8 minutes or less
- The higher the tier you achieve, the higher your chances to get better rewards, including more XP, larger amounts of in-game currencies, legendary items, and even brand-new items like the War Glaive, which is a customizable two-handed melee weapon.
- After finishing a Daily Op, you’ll be able to view an Operation Report, which shows you how fast you managed to complete it, which reward tiers you reached, and a list of the rewards you earned (except for XP and currencies).
Legendary Perks
Legendary Perks are new high-level Perk Cards for players who have reached level 50+, which will help you add even more power and build diversity to your characters.
- We’ve added a new “Legendary Perks” button to the top of the normal Perk Card Menu, which you can use to access and modify your Legendary Perk Slots and Cards.
- You will unlock your first Legendary Perk Slot at level 50, and up to 6 slots in total at certain level milestones after that: 75, 100, 150, 200, and 300.
- If you already have high-level characters, they will immediately have access to one Legendary Perk Slot for each of the above milestones they've reached.
- For example, a level 250 character will have access to 5 Legendary Perk slots, and will gain a 6th slot at level 300.
- One Legendary Perk Card can be equipped to each slot, and you can unequip them at any time in exchange for 1 Perk Coin (more on Perk Coins below).
- Legendary Perk Slots are account-wide, and will be available to all of your characters as soon as you unlock them.
- Even your characters below level 50 will be able to equip Legendary Perks in these slots, which gives them access to more power at an earlier stage of the game than your higher-level characters had at that level.
- With Legendary Perks, we’re introducing “Perk Coins,” which you can use to increase the power of your Legendary Perk Cards by upgrading them.
- Earn Perk Coins by scrapping your unused normal Perk Cards. Each Perk Card you scrap will grant you 2 Perk Coins per rank.
- For example: When you scrap a rank 1 Perk Card, you’ll receive 2 Perk Coins, and scrapping a rank 3 Perk Card will award 6 Perk Coins.
- Each Legendary Perk Card can be upgraded up to three times, at a price of 50, 100, and 150 Perk Coins to reach ranks 2, 3, and 4, respectively.
- While Legendary Perk Slots you’ve unlocked are account-wide, your Legendary Perk Selections and upgrades are separate for each of your characters.
- To help give your Perk Coin collection a boost, we’ve added a “Become Legendary” Challenge to the Character Challenge Menu, which awards 50 Perk Coins to characters who reach level 50.
- Please note: If your characters are already level 50+, this Challenge will already be completed for them the next time you log in, and the 50 Perk Coin reward will be added to your Perk Coin total automatically.

- We did this in part because it is not possible to build in Public Teammates' C.A.M.P.s., and partly because most players were using the Building team the way we had intended Casual to be used anyway.
- Removing the Casual team option, it made room for us to add the new Daily Ops team type, which we feel players will find more useful following today’s update.
World
- Vault 94: Is now accessible during world exploration in Adventure Mode and Private Worlds.
- Vault 51: We've added a new no-C.A.M.P. zone around Vault 51's exterior in preparation for future content.

2020.04.05 00:21 ManBearScientist The Batman guide to preparation, courtesy of a solo Honour run
As per the title, I recently completed a solo honour run. This was approximately attempt 12, with deaths coming to:
- Deathfog (4 times)
- Magister Metamorph in Alexander fight (2 times)
- A random level 12 beetle at Gareth's place (1 time)
- A Gheist (1 time)
- Corpse Explosion counting as a projectile (1 time)
- Getting bursted by The Doctor (1 time)
- Crocodiles (1 time)
- Misc. (The Rest)
On my last attempt, a grew a bit obsessive. I began to keep Thieving gear just for a ritualistic theft plus sacrifice of all the NPCs before I left an arc. I checked every NPC on the hour looking for ingredients, upgrades. I rarely left home without a half-dozen source orbs.
As I approached the final encounters in the game, I had the following:
- 148 potions
- 20 Skin Graft scrolls
- 5 Epidemic of Fire scrolls
- 4 Grasp of the Starved Scrolls
- 1 each of
- Dust Storm
- Ethereal Gateway
- Superconductor
- 6 Mind Maggot Grenades
- 11 Smoke Grenades
- 3 Terror Grenades
- 3 Shocking Grenades
- ~175 other scrolls, ranging from 17 Armour of Frost to just one Spider Legs Scroll
In the end, I took zero damage Act 4 that wasn't environmental or self-inflicted.
When I fought
the doctor, I removed
the nurses first, then spent 5 minutes Blood Raining the room, then triggered combat after prebuffing with Peace of Mind and Apotheosis. I used a Large Resist All potion to become immune to every element. I then used Uncanny Evasion to dodge all physical attacks. Not sure I was safe yet, I used Fortify, Mend Metal, Deflecting Barrier, Heart of Steel and a Giant Physical Armor potion to make myself resistant to non-attack physical damage like Necromancy spells. If that seems like a lot of actions, that is because it is. I then let the fight proceed, and spammed Skin Graft scrolls + Adrenaline + Grasp of the Starved to finish
post transformation, which instantly would end my turn if I tried normally.
That is the type of preparation we are talking about. It didn't matter what type of enemy I was against, I didn't want to make it a fair contest.
How did I do this? The primary pieces of always good preparation steps include:
- Chanterelle + Empty Potion Bottle = Potion of Invisibility (better than Chameleon Cloak)
- Animal Scales + Source Orb + Paper = Skin Graft scroll
- Disembodied Hand + High-Quality Shadow Essence + Paper = Grasp of the Starved scroll
- Feather + Air Essence + Paper = Teleportation scroll
- Trumpet of Death + Empty Potion Bottle = Resist All potion
These are the basics. As far as skills, I used:
- Uncanny Evasion
- Smoke Cover + Bless (creates Blessed Smoke = Invisibility for way longer than Chameleon Cloak for your whole team if necessary or to hide NPCs)
- Chameleon Cloak
- Medusa's Head (longest, easiest stun in the game once magic armour is dropped)
- Torturer + Worm Tremors (long lockdown of melees)
- Idol of Rebirth (just in case)
My build was a Fire + Necromancy Red Prince with minimal other CC. By no means was it as strong as a Fane or other undead build, or an elementalist build. I had okay but not great armour and magic armour. But the above defensive utitilies (plus having many redundant copies of my regular attack chain and roughly every utility spell in the game just in case) made it possible for me to survive anything that didn't instantly-kill.
However, what was truly ridiculous was the abusive power of Skin Graft Scrolls and Adrenaline. These give 2 additional AP every time they are comboed. That means entering the final fight with 14 Skin Grafts, my first turn could be up to 35 AP worth of actions. However, short of that I was simply immune to any condition or element I needed to be for a fight, and favored Strength-based armour, pure armour buffs, and a shield to protect against physical attacks when Uncanny Evasion was off cool-down. Though normally I hid from ranged with Smoke Cover and denied melee with Worm Tremors.
As far as general advice goes:
- Thievery > Bartering > Lucky Charm for money. But you don't have to have Thievery spec'ed at all times. Usually it is better to save when you have the most Thievery gear at the end of an Act unless you need the money to get over a hump.
- Find one NPC (Tarquin for example) and max their Attitude early on, and sell to them primarily.
- Use NPCs for Loremaster unless you want to the ability to check out mob resistances.
- F5 before every major dialogue and combat. F8 to reload.
- Find the NPCs that sell ingredients. Spec out resistance potions, invisibility potions, and the largest armoumagic armour potions you can have.
- Second, be on the lookout for Feathers, Animal Scales, and Disembodied Hands (other gruesome body parts need not apply). These can be turned into great scrolls. Source Orbs used for Scrolls negate the source cost of the ability.
- Put a teleporter pyramid near a Fountain of Source. Use it to replenish instead of other methods if possible.
- Vendors restock on level/every hour.
- You can F5 before talking to a vendor to reroll on the goods they just restocked (IE, a purple wand with a slot will become a different wand with a slot). Opening the trade menu
- If you don't like the options on a restock, you can F8 to your last save and open the trade menu with a random civilian. This will reset what the vendor has available, possibly changing their purple amulet into a pink weapon. This typically changes their 'best' item, and they only have a small number of slots for such items.
- Backpacks, Pouches, Barrels, and Chests can be useful to hide items in NPC inventories, particularly if you sell a lot to a single NPC.
- Save Thievery gear, even if it isn't good enough to use as your main gear. Alternatively, do the same with Persuasion gear to pass checks and Loremaster gear to see enemy resistances.
Builds:
Most builds in Divinity come down to a few basic design principles. A lot of players mess this up and end up underpowered, primarily by making one of a few mistakes. First, they split between Intelligence/Finesse/Strength. Second, they don't have enough memory early to use a full spell chain. Third, they are physical and don't max Warfare (Necromancy, or maxing a weapon instead).
- Choose Lone Wolf, or not
- Choose Intelligence/Finesse/Strength
- Max that stat first. Do not split between these stats except minimally to access gear, and look for gear that gives its primary stat so you only temporarily need to meet the requirements (like Shields that grant Constitution)
- If Intelligence, choose whether you are going 2 wands, wand + shield, or staff
- If Finesse, choose whether you are going 2 daggers, dagger + shield, spear, or bow.
- If Strength, choose whether you are going 1-hander + shield or 2-hander
- Get enough Memory to have a comfortable ability rotation
- If using a shield, keep Constitution at the minimum necessary to keep the shield equipped
- Max Wits after your primary stat.
- Decide whether you are a summoner. If so, you max that before anything else (but might respec in Act 2 to something different as Summoning peaks early).
- Decide whether you are going physical, or elemental primarily for damage. Max warfare if physical. Max your primary element if elemental. Keep others at 1-2 to keep utility abilities as necessary (such as Adrenaline, Cloak and Daggers, Chameleon Cloak). If split, alternate between your primary element and Warfare/your secondary element.
- Decide if you want Apotheosis or not. If so, find a way to get exactly 5 points in Polymorph (not necessary, not easy outside Lone Wolf).
- Once your primary damage is maxed, max Critical Modifier (Two-Handed, Scoundrel).
- For headgear, jewelry, weapons, gloves, and chest pieces prioritize gear that has
- Your main stat (StFin/Int)
- Your main damage (Warfare/element)
- Wits
- Critical Chance%
- Scoundrel/Two-Handed (critical modifier)
- For shields/pants/belts/legs prioritize gear that has
- The highest armoumagic armour available
- Dodging
- Thievery
- Most don't have other stats, but Unique gear can; consider putting these higher if they do have such stats
- For talents, go:
- Melee
- Lone Wolf if you want it
- Opportunist early (or The Pawn)
- Hothead for damage, Living Armour for tank
- All Skilled Up or Mnemonic if you don't have any other attractive options
- Casters
- Lone Wolf if you want it
- Mnemonic early (respec out if needed later), or All Skilled Up
- Torturer early if Pyro/Necro/Geo
- Elemental Affinity for comboning
- Savage Sortilege at exactly level 13 followed by Hothead
- Executioner / Far Out Man if you don't have any other priorities
- Bow-Users
- Lone Wolf if you want it
- Executioner early
- Elemental Affinity/Elemental Ranger depending on secondary skill
- Hothead level 3 or 8
- All Skilled Up or Far Out man if you don't have any other priorities
- Guerilla maybe later on to combo with Assassinate/Marksman's Fang
- Niche: Demon/Ice-King, Arrow Recovery, Glass Cannon (their own things)
- Get some combination skills as necessary to supplement your playstyle (see below).
No matter what your build is, enhance your stats with
the Spider's Kiss in Act 2 (Primary/Wits, steal the Idol of Rebirth), Academy Lessons (Primary Stat, Wits, Memory if necessary) in Act 3, and Eternal Artifacts with your final set-up in Act 4.
You should end up with a comfortable amount of memory to support your strategy, maxed out primary stat and damage type and a lot of wits/critical chance/critical modifier. Prioritize your primary damage, then prioritize critting for as much as possible with that damage. Maxing Scoundrel, Huntsman, Polymorph, or Necromancy early will prevent you from maxing Warfare and doing your highest damage possible.
Act 1
The primary challenge in Act 1 is getting experience and enough money to buy skill books. You start with no gear and barely reach level 2 at a time where most of the fights require you to be geared and level 3-4. Many people stall out here, not knowing the easy routes to get experience without combat and how to make money. Read ahead for spoilers.
As soon as you leave the tutorial deck, press ALT to see a skull, mortar and pestle, and gold cup. These are worth a lot of gold if you sell the gold cup and make bone dust with the skull and mortar and pestle. Get a bedroll or 3 as you head over to the far left door to enter into the Windego dialog. Loot the room for your first weapons. Steal from Fane on the next floor for additional gold. Finish the ship, saving fireball scrolls to sell for profit.
Collect a bunch of shells as you walk up up the beach (along with Fish Bones for later Bone Cage scrolls). We will be using these to make money by crafting Improvised Staffs with Long Branches. Keep a shiv or knife if you find one to cut Logs into two Long Branches, keep the wood dust (it turns into Sheets of Paper later on).
With Thievery 1, steal from a few easy NPCs to get their skillbooks and/or some gold. Primarily we want to actually learn the skills at this rate. Only steal what you need. we can hit this up again later on once Thievery is higher. Primary focus on Mona (Necromancy, X:233 Y:131), Kalias (Warfare-Caverns), Stingtail (Pyrokinetic, X: 182, Y: 77), Nebora (Summoning, X:223 Y:181). These NPCs are in isolated locations with in-demand books. I usually max Nebora's Attitude, as she it close to the Waypoint.
Do the following tasks: * Get a Yarrow flower from a tower, bring it to Migo * Kill the turtles near Fane * Play Hide-Seek with the boy in the Caverns, get introduced to Lord Withermore * Steal a key from a Magister Archer on the wooden platform * Enter the prisons by either opening the main gate or using Withermore's side entrance * Sneak over to the feuding Magisters and steal a Prison key off the stool * Unlock the lower prisons * Sneak past Kniles to grate leading outside * Walk to the beach, then up past the circle of skulls. * Sticking close to the walls, bypass the Voidling encounter. * Avoiding the shock trap, walk past the heavily trapped area and ring the bell. * Enter Amadia's Sanctuary * Avoiding the level 6 void lizards, sneak past the ship and enter Trompdoys layer * Run past the initial fight of 3 Trompdoys * Run past the later fight of 6 Trompdoys * Ransack the treasure room. * Talk to the statue.
This should give you enough gold and treasure to clean up the rest of the Fort and reach Level 4. From here on out, you can steal from the other vendors, beat the Arena to get your color removed, bless pigs, fight voidlings, etc. You can also free Slane and walk down the beach, and instead of fighting Radeka simply steal the Purging Wand off her and free Slane.
Simply avoid the Radeka, Alexander, Orivand, and the large Voidspawn until you are level 6 and finishing up the Act.
Lady Vengeance fight is problematic, utilize some or all of the following to help cheese the encounter. First, you can use Smoke Cover (Aero/Scoundrel combination skill) plus Bless to largely bypass all but the last turn of the fight, making it nearly impossible to lose. Second, use a Source Orb in a necklace slot to grant Evasive Aura, also protecting Malady for 2 turns. Smoke Grenades, Smoke Cover will help for a couple turns, but won't be enough be enough by themselves. I don't think Erratic Wisp would work, but Uncanny Evasion should also protect Malady from most of the damage of a turn. Medusa's Head can also prevent some of the foes from moving. Don't focus on killing.
Act 2
The challenge is this arc is similar. You don't quite feel comfortable against the Mordus Voidspawn, but the other challenges vastly out-level you. I like to do the following early on:
- Walk to Driftwood. Fight the Voidlings and uncover the bridge problem, and the magister card.
- Walk north to the magisters holding Seiva. Pay 300 gp to release her without a fight.
- Walk across the river to bypass guards, due the first ritual to see ghosts
- Unlock the Undertavern
- Unlock the Stonegarden Graveyard
- Walk from Driftwood further north to the Paladin Bridgehead
- Walk further north to the Meadows and the Driftwood - Fields Waypoint.
- Walk west to Lohar. Start his quest.
- Walk from north from Stonegarden to talk to Gareth at Paradise Downs
- Steal the notes from the chef and talk to the Magisters next door
- Kill a few dwarves/guards in the fishhouse to clear a path for the barrel
- Talk to Reimond and start his quest
- Talk to Lohar and start his quest
- Go to Stonegarden Graveyard and complete the non-combat quests, talk to Ryker
- Jump from Field Waypoint across bridge to Bloodmoon isle. Stealth to the Advocate. Buy Emrach if you have the money, or steal it.
- Go southwest from the Fields waypoint until you find Eithne. Buy/Steal An Mey Falin from her; it's the best belt in the entire game bar none.
- From here on out, kill the Magisters to the west of Driftwood and proceed to do the Mordus quest.
- Complete the map sections as below:
- Driftwood
- Mordus/Wrecker's Cove
- Stonegarden
- Cloisterwood (TP magisters to lava if needed)
- Blackpits (double TP Gawin away to avoid most of the fight)
- Blackpits - Caves
- Lone Wolf Camp
- Bloodmoon Isle
- Ancient Temple/final Bloodmoon fights/Blackpits Docks for last
Major points:
- TP and burst down Mordus before can absorb source from his allies or dead bodies. A risky tactic is to TP bodies from above and use Mass Corpse Explosion on him, because if he goes first he will drain Source and transform into a much stronger foe.
- Use air and water potions against Aetera before clicking the coffin, only have one person at the coffin. Smoke grenade near in front of the console/skeleton to make her move. Medusa's head to ignore her dogs. You can also teleport bodies from previous fight to her and Mass Corpse Explosion to cheese.
- TP Advocate's helpers to deathfog or teleport large numbers of dead bodies down and use Mass Corpse Explosion to cheese the encounter (see a pattern?).
- Don't use the ferry.
- Skip the Clay Statues fight. Just run away after getting the artifact.
- Recruit the Fletcher to the ship after fighting the Lone Wolves.
- Steal drudanae to utilize Effie's herbmixes, particularly for drudanae + augmentor recipe (+2 AP).
- Save voidwoken fish from barrels in Driftwood for money in Act 4 or herbmixes
Act 3
Avoid getting instakilled with lava in one particular section. You should actually be pretty well armed starting this act and will quickly get the highest level Source abilities to clean up encounters. Most of the temples can be done without a lot of combat and are more puzzle based than not. The enemies around the map shouldn't be too threatening.
Major Points:
- Mask of the Shapeshifter bypasses much of the racial god quest difficulties for easy experience
- Fire is resisted a lot, but air does well. Air potions are the most handy, followed by Water. Poison potions work well versus the Sallow Man but you should focus on bursting him then hiding.
- Sell your Unique gear to the Fletcher at the end of Act 3, before finishing the Academy. It will be leveled up to level 18 in his Inventory (if not using the mod that lets you level up certain items, such as in an Honour run for the achievement).
- Equip all your mobility for the final 'fight', then switch back.
- Uncanny Evasion cancels out the first part of the real final fight, the latter should be source-spammed down most likely with a resist-all potion for safety.
Act 4
There are just a few sections here that are troublesome. Complete everything until The Secrets of the Dwarves, Doctor's Orders, and The Vault of Linder Kemm to get to level 20. Isbeil can cheese you with deathfog if you stay in pit or get to corners of room (or open the wrong door), Linder Kemm is super-tanky and can deal high damage (and will kill the best trader in the game most of the time), and the Doctor is simply the hardest normal fight in the game.
For the final bit of the main quest, my only advice is to use a Major Potion of Invisibility (or 5) to skip the puppet fight entirely while you hunt for levers, possibly reloading once you've found the levers to do it quickly.
Major Points:
- You can simply run from the big ambushes early on if you killed the Advocate.
- Resist all potions help in final fight, versus the Doctor
- Fire potion helps versus Linder Kemm
- Use sneaking to slowly kill the tentacles of the Kraken early on, don't fight the head
- Be careful if you use deathfog. It won't affect demons or the big-bads mostly useful for trolls.
- There is a witch/demon that has an instant-kill dialog option. Just ambush her in combat.
- Look at the unique item sold by the merchants.
A list of useful crafted items:
Early-Money:
- Needle + Thread (buy) + leather scraps/cloth scraps - good armor level 1/2 but sell after

2019.10.28 10:09 SvartSol Juvenile with talents being wasted (dota2)
It hurts me to the very bottom of my soul. To see Dota2 being tossed aside. Walking around aimlessly. And for what reasons? Valve not having the guts to try and invest nor selling it.
I have to admit. I returned to Dota2 after almost five years of inactivity. Former 6k mmr at that time. Used to play with pinoy and Fishbone. But to see the game slowly die like this. There is no investing in the newer players. The buy menu seems clonky.
Dota2 is the best competitive game. Seen all internationals with delight. It makes my heart pump. It makes me feel so alive.
Please valve, have a meeting. This IP is being wasted on you right now. Only keept alive by the people that sell their soul to it.

2019.05.16 15:39 AbandonedArts Little Details from the 5/15/2019 SMM2 Direct
Holy
fuck. This game, man.
Okay, so here's a list of all the little details I missed during my first viewing of yesterday's SMM2 Direct, complete with timestamps:
- 0:28: You can change the appearance of semisolid platforms from a drop-down menu.
- 0:31: You can add a description to a course before you upload it.
- 0:33: Course IDs are only nine digits long now.
- 0:35: There's a new feature the Course World selection screen: a pair of gold or silver tokens that appears near the bottom-right corner of each course in the menu. Seems like it has something to do with the "Medals" system.
- 0:38: The ring of Boo Buddies is moving horizontally (toward Mario) without a visible track. Another example can be seen at 15:25.
- 0:40: The SMB3 Style won't have a proper Jungle Theme; the theme resembles a factory or 'pipe world' instead (we know this because of the purple poisonous water at the bottom of the screen, which is exclusive to the Jungle Theme).
- 0:44: Red switch blocks are seen here with smiling faces on them. Maybe that's just how they look in the SMB3 Style? Also, what course theme is this? It's not the SMB3 Grass Theme, but it's not a night theme either. It has elements of the SMB3 Jungle Theme (see above), but the background is completely different.
- 1:30: Goombrats are confirmed.
- 2:13: Platforms can be made shorter (in addition to being lengthened).
- 2:41: Every time we've seen the Angry Sun, we've seen it hovering in the corner of the screen. We've also never seen it manually placed. It seems like its location is fixed (just like it was in SMB3).
- 3:14: On/off switches can toggle tracks on and off.
- 3:31: The SMB3 Underground Theme pictured here has orange-colored ground blocks (not blue).
- 3:36: The swinging claw is bolted to a hard block with one of those mysterious screws. This seems like evidence that you can affix more than just the swinging claw onto any given block.
- 3:39: The twiggy bushes here seem like one-tile-high extensions of the ground block in the SMB3 Desert Theme.
- 3:43: Water can only be placed in the Jungle Theme ("in this course style...").
- 5:15: The NSMBU Sky Theme has transparent semisolid platforms.
- 5:17: The checkpoint flag no longer turns Mario into Super Mario.
- 5:41: I don't remember ever seeing this particular asset-placement menu before. Neat.
- 5:47: Here's a list of all the Clear Condition prerequisites featured. The tabs pictured are: Actions, Parts, Status, Remove.
- Reach the goal (after defeating [X] [enemy type]).
- Ex: "reach the goal after defeating all (20) Bullet Bills."
- Ex: "reach the goal after defeating all (1) Hammer Bros."
- Ex: "reach the goal after defeating all (3) Munchers."
- Ex: "reach the goal after defeating all (2) Piranha Plants."
- Ex: "reach the goal after defeating all (19) Koopa Troopas."
- Reach the goal after grabbing [X] coins.
- Ex: "reach the goal after grabbing 20 coins."
- Reach the goal with [power up].
- Ex: "reach the goal as Super Mario."
- Reach the goal without [performing action].
- "Ex: "reach the goal without taking damage."
- And: "reach the goal without landing after leaving the ground."
- Reach the goal after [performing action.]
- Ex: "reach the goal after picking up all (1) 1-Up Mushrooms."
- 6:02: During the "AND MUCH MORE!" segment of the Direct, the announcer says that "from enemies to allies to items, a Twister will suck up anything." Allies is plural; could this refer to more than just Yoshi?
- 6:15: Red Yoshi can breathe fire at-will, without having to swallow a Koopa Shell (or anything else) first.
- 6:19: A Fishbone is pictured in a completely dry Underground Theme course.
- 6:20: A Thwomp with no parachute gains one after smashing through a coin that does have a parachute.
- 6:59: Fireballs are able to activate on/off switches.
- 8:29: In a Night Theme Ghost House, the arrow asset has a ring of light around it. The arrow is not centered inside the ring; rather, the ring is centered a block or so away from the direction that the arrow is pointing. The 50-coin has a ring of light surrounding it, too.
- 8:59: The Game Styles menu has a very conspicuous space next to 3D World, and the menu itself uses the plural "Styles" in "Extra Game Styles." In light of this (and all the four-playable-character action), I guar-an-fucking-tee we will get a SMB2 style as DLC.
- 9:15: The narrator scrolls through literally every asset wheel in the 3D World game style (and there's nothing we haven't seen before).
9:28: This is a new 3D World course theme (Block Theme?). Nope! Just the Sky Theme. - 10:00: The warp box deposits Mario into a new area and then disappears. You can use these as one-way doors. Also, warp boxes can be locked, requiring keys.
- 10:36: The track block moves without a visible track onscreen. In fact, no visible tracks are ever shown in the 3D World style.
- 10:37: Fireball-throwing Sledge Bros. are confirmed.
- 11:11: The Koopa Car drives over several two-block-wide gaps. Also, the giant Magikoopa here appears to be floating above the donut block he's been placed on.
- 11:25: The real Pom Pom can be distinguished from her clones by the color of her shuriken and by the green beads in her hair.
- 11:41: Peepa are confirmed for the 3D World game style (a variant of the Boo Buddies ring, since Peepa does not appear in any of the asset wheels featured earlier in the Direct.
- 11:42: The Big Bully shown here can break through hard blocks and walk across two-block wide gaps.
- 11:43: The Hop-Chop shown here does not transform into a spring after Mario jumps on him (though Mario does get a big boost after the jump). Strange! Maybe the transformation animation takes a while, or maybe Hop-Chop no longer transforms at all.
- 11:46: A giant Meowser leaps onto the screen from off-screen, below. (straight through a line of ground blocks). A boss that can leap out from off-screen, out of nowhere. Neat!
- 11:46: The giant Meowser's fireballs can break blocks.
- 11:57: Leaderboards for the Endless Challenge. Also, the 100-Mario Challenge seems to have been removed.
- 12:11: A list of all course tags:
- Standard
- Puzzle-solving
- Speedrun
- Autoscrolling
- Auto-Mario
- Short and sweet
- Multiplayer Versus
- Themed
- Music
- None
- 12:26: No more starring courses; there's a binary rating system instead ("Boo!" or "I like it!"). Also, no "restart from checkpoint" option is pictured, and there's no space on the menu for a context-specific "restart from checkpoint" button.
- 12:28: You can comment with stamps. Here's a list:
- Nice!
- Good stuff!
- So tough...
- EASY
- Seriously?!
- Wow!
- Cool idea!
- SPEEDRUN!
- How?!
- Be careful!
- So close!
- Beat it!
- 12:29: You can leave text or hand-drawn comments, and you can require a player to clear a course before they can see your comment. It appears that you can also attach a "mood" to your comment; see the icons to the left.
- 12:37: Here we can see a level description in action; it appears just below the course preview in a speech bubble next to the uploader's Maker Profile avatar.
- 12:47: Makers have "maker points" now, and can achieve medals of some kind, which are displayed on their profile.
- 13:14: Levels cleared in Endless Challenge are represented by icons corresponding to their course theme. The hills appear to represent Grass Themes, the trees: Jungle Themes, the cloudy mushroom: Sky Themes, the castle: Castle Themes, the pipe: Underground Themes, and the snowy mountains: Snow Themes. A pyramid is later shown to represent Desert Themes.
13:15: Is this a new Mountain Theme? Nope, just a desert theme. - 13:51: ? blocks can now contain more than one item!
- 13:54: Off-screen players are represented by an icon at the edge of the screen.
- 14:07: Defeated players re-spawn in Multiplayer Versus mode.
- 14:58: If the Clear Condition hasn't been met yet; the battleaxe or flagpole appears as an outlined silhouette.
Also, we can observe throughout the Direct that all four playable characters: Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Toadette - do play identically. No unique behaviors or properties.
Whew! Hell of a list... and that's just the non-obvious stuff I missed during my first watch.
So excited for this game, guys. I'm gonna play the
shit out of some multiplayer co-op.
