Digital Nomading on a budget and sails

2024.05.14 19:08 artfully_rearranged Digital Nomading on a budget and sails

Reality check me, roast me, help me out here however you feel appropriate. You'll be kinder than the sea.
I'm a tech worker in Chicago with very little savings but decent income, and formulating kind of a fun plan- Saving about $20k USD and leaving it all behind (except work). I can work remotely anywhere, and my previous plan was getting an apartment in Campeche, Batoumi or Cyprus.
I can throw about $1000/mo into savings for the next year, possibly double that. I'm estimating about $20k savings in a year with bonuses, side hustles and tax returns, and a lot of skimping. All I need to do my job is modest internet and my laptop. My net income minus debt is about $3400/mo.
Plan: buy a $10k-$15k boat in March next year in Chicago or Houston, drop $600 on a Starlink receiver, and make that my home when the apartment lease is up. Spend a season on Lake Michigan or around the Gulf coast livaboard, work my job, do repairs, get experience, and head down to Honduras/Guatemala/Belize/Costa Rica when ready (lower cost of living). Rinse and repeat. Work my way up to a $60k boat once I've made sure I won't ground it.
My experience has been around 100 miles of coastal sailing on a 26' sailboat on the Big Island years ago across several trips, and a lot of dinghy sailing on lakes. Tired of paying $3k/mo on living expenses, want to see the world, dislike flying and the tourist experience. Love the water. Have zero certifications. Pushing 40, tired of having nothing to show for it.
I know Great Lakes to NOLO is an adventure in itself. I'm fair savvy on rotten soles, mast step issues, leaking chainplates, bad Kingston valves, etc. Experienced in electrical and electronics repair, carpentry, plumbing and etc. When it comes to larger rigging, very green. Probably looking at singlehanding an older 27'-40' monohull. Thoughts, advice?

2024.05.13 15:42 AwesomeTiger6842 WIBTBA if I have my sister and cousin walk me down the isle at my wedding instead of my mom?

This is purely a hypothetical situation. Also, to prove this account isn't a bot, here are two of my older posts from the account i used to post on:
THT Post
AITBA Post
Anyway, for simplicity, everyone's fake names will be as follows: Tammy (my sister), Layla (my cousin), Kira (my SIL), my mom, Blake/Jackson/Cyprus (my brothers), Mila (a former teacher who's my friend now and is okay with me calling her by her first name), and Fiora (a woman I'm chatting with currently).
Also, for more context, my sister, Tammy, is technically my half-sister. We have a very close relationship, so I just call her my sister. I don't really need to distinguish if she's my full blood sister or my half sister because I'd love her all the same no matter what.
Anyway, let's get into the story:
Alright, so, I'm a 21 year-old gay woman and also an agnostic atheist (trust me, this part will be relevant later on). As someone in her early 20s, I've thought a lot about how I'd want my wedding to go, whom I'd want in my bridal party, etc. Even though I'm not getting married for a while, I've been thinking about these things for a long time.
I'm currently talking to Fiora (29, Trans MtF). I really like this woman and she's really cool. We've been talking for almost a month and a half. We video chatted a couple times (we're talking on Snapchat) and they were a bit awkward. We click really well. We were going to meet on April 12th, but had to cancel because we had issues with rides.
I'll be honest and say that while Fiora being Transgender and having started her transition isn't a problem for me, I know it'll be a problem for my family. My family is transphobic and thinks that people who are Trans are lying about their gender identity. Especially my mom's side of the family. I know Blake (24M) will be the first to jump on the fact that she wasn't born a female and delegitimize the relationship when he meets her if she and I do decide we want to date after we're able to meet in person for the first time.
My mom's side of the family is very Catholic because that's how they were raised. They always talk about how gay marriage shouldn't be allowed in church because of the whole "love the sinner, not the sin" bs. As a gay woman, I want to speak up and say something every time this happens, but I just hold my tongue and keep my head down because I'm not trying to out myself to them. Also being an agnostic atheist makes me want to challenge them on their beliefs, but I don't do this either because I don't want them or my mom to know that I don't believe in religion.
Blake was never supportive of my journey to a better understanding of myself. Kira (21F) also hasn't really been supportive of me either. I didn't exactly come out to them when I was ready, and when I did they just interrogated me and belittled me. She and I were 20 at the time.
I told my oldest brother, Jackson (30M), over text that I'm gay. I dont think he quite understood what I meant when I told him this. He has some misplaced concern about me being gay, I guess. But that response wasn't as bad as Blake and Kira's response was. He was 29 when I came out to him. My other brother, Cyprus (28M), doesn't know I'm gay yet. I want to tell him, but I have my reservations given Blake and Kira's reaction.
I told my sister, Tammy (56F) and cousin, Layla (30-something F), five months apart from each other. Both had perfect reactions to me coming out to them. Layla is and has been married to her wife for seven years, so needless to say, she was extremely happy when I came out to her in October 2023. I told Tammy five months later and she was also very happy that I trusted her enough to tell her that I'm gay. She's accepting and supportive.
Last May was when I came out to Mila (32F) and my mom (61F). Mila is very accepting of me. My mom said she was supportive, but I've never truly felt like she is. I love my mom, however, she's said a lot of things in the past that make me think she wouldn't want me to marry a woman.
To add a little more context to my and Blake's relationship, I looked up to him when we were kids, but now I can't look up to him anymore. The brother I knew as a kid just isn't recognizable anymore. Now, he's just so hateful and hostile toward me because I'm gay. Kira and I used to be best friends, but now we're just in-laws to me. I can't see her as my best friend anymore and there's a whole backstory to that. Maybe I can write a post about that some other time.
Now, to the part where I'm wondering if I'd be the bad apple. I've thought about who I'd want to be an active part of my wedding when I get married. I want Tammy and Layla to walk me down the isle because I'm very close to both of them. I'm close with my mom, but I don't know if I'd want her to be the one to walk me down the isle. Mila and I are close friends and I see her as a second sister and I'd love her to be my MOH. I'd also have some of my friends I graduated with and a few of my other cousins as my bridesmaids.
I don't want my mom to be an active part of the wedding, but I'd still invite her to my wedding. I want her to be a guest instead of the one walking me down the isle. Also, by extention, I don't want to invite Blake and Kira to my future wedding for the obvious reasons. I especially don't want to invite Blake because he's threatened me with violence in the past if I don't marry a man.
I'm looking for some outside perspectives. I don't think this would make me the bad apple, however, some unbiased perspectives would be very helpful. So, WIBTBA if I have my sister and cousin walk me down the isle at my wedding instead of my mom? Also, would I be the bad apple if I just wanted my mom as a guest and to not invite Blake and Kira?
(I'm AwesomeKitty6842, btw.)

2024.05.13 09:28 Pezora Genuinely have no Idea on what to do..

So basically, I'm 17 and live in Cyprus. I've been trying to get a entry level job for ages and genuinely can't find anything. Only time I got close was when I was out eating with some friends and noticed that the place we were eating at was hiring. So I went in and asked the boss who said "yeah that's great you can come for a interview tomorrow at 6" I then went back to my seat to tell my friends and they said "that's great do you think they have multiple spots open" so we went back in and asked and he said that he's looking for 3 people and that we can all come tomorrow at the same time. Problem is what ended up happening during the interview is he said he will give us all 2 days of training. Friend A Tuesday Wednesday friend B Thursday Friday and I would do my training over the weekend. So a few days go by and it's now Friday (a day before I start training) And He's impressed by my 2 friends so he hires them and says that he doesn't need a third anymore... I then that following weekend spend 7 hours on my bicycle going place to place asking if they're hiring. But Most places said that "we don't do physical interviews like that anymore and that we don't know if we are hiring or not you have to do it all online" and then some other places said "yeah we are looking for staff give us your number and some details and we will call you" which none of them ever did. Out of my classroom almost everyone has a job none of which (apart from my friend) got it without the help of their parents. Which I don't talk to my dad much and my mom doesnt work or know anyone who can help me. I at this point have no idea what I'm supposed to do and don't know how I'm supposed to start working here..

2024.05.12 19:05 MrTrynex Advice about taxes from property renting

Hi everyone,
I have an apartment which I'm renting out and even though the income is well below 19k, so I don't have to pay taxes, I heard that I need to file taxes form with the income from the apartment.
I want to go to Tax Department here in Paphos to find out what I have to fill out ( since they are not picking up phone ever, tried like 30 times), but if anyone had any advice or information what I need to bring or which form I need to fill out that would help a lot.
Should I also add expenses like water, electricity etc for completion sake or it doesn't matter?
Also are these form strictly in Greek?
Edit: it's not rented for long term rent, but short term rent via booking. I'm also not resident of Cyprus.
Thank you have have a great day!

2024.05.05 19:00 365Happy-Days The Creatures in the night

CREATURES OF THE NIGHT BY OSCAR FLORENCE
I never thought I would find myself living in a log cabin deep in the woods. To some, I might be referred to as a city slicker. I work at a medium-sized tech firm that focuses on cybersecurity, and we are an independent contractor for the United States military, focused on cyber warfare. That’s about all I can tell you. In fact, I may have already transgressed the regulations outlined in Title 18.
I have a wife, Juliana, who was a registered nurse in the ICU, and we have a daughter, Teirza, pronounced “Tear-za.” Her middle name is Joy. My wife was told that she would never be able to have children; however, when our miracle was born, she wanted to name her Teirza Joy. Why did we both quit our jobs, pack our bags, and move out to the middle of nowhere when neither one of us knew a damn thing about living off-grid? Let me take you back.
One day, after my wife’s grueling 16-hour shift, she couldn’t hold in her emotions any longer. She cried as she told me about the brutal injuries she witnessed in the intensive care unit, all victims of city violence, some of them our daughter’s age. And in my own years working in cybersecurity, I have faced off against cybercriminals who want to wreak havoc on a society already teetering. I think that was the tipping point for both of us, and in order to keep ourselves, and our little miracle safe, we made this spontaneous move.
Little did we know, we were trading the dangers of city life for the dangers of the wilderness. When we arrived, the cabin had been well maintained. It had a wood-burning stove, a loft, and a porch that overlooked a small creek. We had no neighboring houses for at least a mile.
We spent the second day unpacking boxes, arranging furniture, and getting acquainted with our new home. Juliana and I took turns showing Teirza around the property, careful not to let her stray too far. We’re helicopter parents, I know. But I noticed these tracks in the mud near the riverbed. Now, I’m a tech guy, I don’t know a thing about paw prints, but what I do know is that whatever this thing was, it must have been big, and it didn’t look like a bear claw. It looked more like a reptile’s claw.
Later that evening, we had our solar panels delivered and installed on the roof of the cabin. I stood outside in the driveway, directing the man on the roof to which angle I thought the solar panels would get the most sunlight, when I noticed three rugged mountain men type of people came walking out of the tree line. They wore flannel shirts, had unkempt beards, reeked of wood smoke and body odor, and they carried hunting rifles slung over their shoulders. They were chuckling about something. I deal with confrontation much better in the virtual world than in person, that’s for sure. I would have just hoped those men would have walked away and never come back, having seen that the property was now under new ownership.
My wife had other plans, and she was motioning at me through the window to stop those men and talk to them. I figured they were just out hunting and didn’t know that this property had been bought, so I certainly did not feel threatened. “Excuse me. Excuse me!” I hollered out to them. One of them stopped, and the other two kept walking.
I ran up to them. The other two then turned around. “Hey, I wasn’t sure if you guys were aware, but this is our property you’re trespassing on.” First, one of them starts to laugh, then all three of them are laughing at me. One of them squints his eyes to get a good look at me from head to toe. “Ye ain’t from 'round here, are ya?” The tallest man in the group spits on the ground. “We just moved in a couple of days ago.” “What brings you to these parts? That your fancy car over there?” Two of the men asked me questions at the same time, one of them pointing at my car. “The Model 3 Tesla? Yeah, that’s mine.” They start to laugh again. Now I am starting to get pissed. “That perty little car there ain’t gon’ nowhere when winter hits. And dem, uh, electrical things you puttin’ on the roof there ain’t gon’ do shit in winter.” I shook my head and started to walk away.
I was contemplating whether to raise my voice and sound a little more threatening, but these men would laugh at that and only exacerbate my anger. “This conversation’s over,” I said, walking away. “It ain’t safe out here at night.” What the hell does he mean by that? Was it some kind of threat to me? Yeah, I am only 5 foot 9, I got skinny frail arms, I use solar panels, and I drive an electric car. Maybe that makes me a pussy. But if you put my family in any kind of danger, I will make sure you understand who the fuck you are dealing with. I remembered that I had installed security cameras around the cabin and driveway the day we moved in.
After viewing the footage, I screenshotted their faces, then used a facial recognition website to delve into their backgrounds. But my cybersecurity skills offered a deeper dive—I could hack into their digital accounts, read their emails and messages, and even sell their identities or credit card information on the black market if I wanted to.
Despite the feeling of power I have over them now, I decided not to, for it’s not worth the punishment of getting caught. I chose a different approach. My message was clear: their intrusion was recorded, and any further trespassing would have consequences. It was a clear warning: I know more about them than they want people to realize, so they should tread lightly. That same night, I decided to look over every hour of my camera footage from the moment we arrived here. I was hunting down these rednecks like I would hunt down a cybercriminal plotting a terrorist attack online. Yet, what I found on that footage chilled me to the bone, far surpassing any unease those rednecks had caused.
One of the cameras, positioned to oversee the forest behind us, 84.3 acres, had captured something that to this day still scares me. At first glance, I just assumed it was an anomaly—moonlight reflecting off a shiny object, perhaps? But as I zoomed in and really analyzed the footage, frame by frame, the reality dawned on me. It was no ordinary object; its movements were too deliberate. With controlled precision that defied conventional aircraft capabilities, it hovered eerily around our cabin before vanishing into the night at impossible speeds.
The structural design bore no resemblance to human engineering standards, a conclusion drawn from my comprehensive understanding of military cyber protocols. Prior to my contract with the United States military, I underwent some pretty rigorous training in the digital connectivity of fighter jets and combat helicopters to prevent cyber threats against them. I may not be an engineer or have clearances on how these fighter jets are designed, but I do understand the command and control systems of some of them, and this was unlike anything I have ever seen before. It was, for all intents and purposes, an Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon (UAP)—a UFO in layman’s terms. It was raining hard that night, and I remember my wife walking over to me with a cup of tea.
I didn’t know if I should tell her or not. The sighting alone was enough to make a skeptic question their disbelief, maybe even her, a devout skeptic. But I can say this much: what I’ve been briefed on has tilted the scales for me, pushing me more towards the side of a believer. There are things out there, phenomena that defy our current understanding of physics and aerospace technology. And what I saw that night? Well, it makes me consider that while we thought we were alone in the universe this whole time, we were actually being observed right under our noses. I spent hours in front of my computer, something I am used to, as you can imagine. I had to get up and stretch my legs.
I grabbed the dog leash and put it on Lizzie, our white German Shepherd. I wish that I could just let her out by herself, but she has a habit of running away. I grabbed my tea and headed out the door. She pulled me through the muddy yard, with the rain still pouring down heavily. As she was doing her business in the yard, something must have startled her because she perked up and faced the forest, on high alert. The sound of the rain was dominant, so she must have heard something that I did not. Then suddenly, I heard something large running in the forest. From what I could see, some of the trees were swaying, and I could hear branches breaking. Lizzie pulled me so hard, unexpectedly, that I spilled my hot tea on myself before falling in the mud.
She was barking and growling at whatever was in the woods. The leash slipped from my hands as I was getting back to my feet. She bolted towards the woods. “Lizzie! Lizzie!” I yelled for her, but she disappeared into the forest. I love that dog. She is very loyal and a great addition to our family, but she pisses me off sometimes, and I had no intention of going looking for her that night. But… my wife and daughter weren’t having any of it. As I stood in the doorway, dripping wet and covered in mud, Teirza was looking out the window and sobbing. “She’s all alone out there. What if she’s killed by a bear?” Teirza cried out. Juliana didn’t even have to say a word. All she had to do was give me that look, and I was off again.
Here I was, flashlight in hand, treading through the damn forest on a cold, rainy night. “Lizzie!” Nothing. I figured I would walk about 180 degrees through the forest and then head back if I didn’t see her. In the meantime, I was thinking of some way I could let my girls down gently in explaining that I couldn’t find her. But then, I heard the faint sound of barking in the distance. “Lizzie!” I kept calling out. I moved closer and closer to the sound of her bark, but it stopped. Her bark turned into fearful growling. I sensed that something else was out there in the forest with us, and honestly, I was too scared to holler once more for her.
As I quietly moved closer to the sound, I could see her, maybe a hundred yards away. I began a steady jog toward her, as I noticed she was frozen in her tracks. I got within twenty yards of her, but I could see her tail between her legs, and she was shaking, showing her teeth. I stopped. I moved my flashlight in the direction she was facing. At first, all I saw was a bunch of trees, their branches swaying in the wind.
As I moved the beam upward to illuminate the tops of the trees, my blood ran cold. What I thought were two grotesque, oddly shaped trees, were… legs! I didn’t realize it was a creature until I saw its torso. It was massive and muscular, encased in what looked like metallic armor. I knew it had to be wearing some type of clothing, by the way the light reflected back toward me.
I watched in stunned silence, as the creature lowered itself onto its hind legs, its massive arms slamming down on each side of Lizzie with a force that sent tremors rippling through the forest floor. With a slow, deliberate movement, it lowered its head to stare at my terrified dog, but it never attacked. It just watched, with curiosity.
Bang. I heard a loud gunshot in the distance, followed by three more shots. Way in the distance, I saw lights turn on some sort of object that had landed in the woods, and the creature ran on all fours toward it. I got back to my feet and ran over to her. I got to pet her, and she bit my hand. But once she recognized it was me, she calmed down a little, and I grabbed her leash. At this point, I was so disoriented and consumed by fear that I couldn’t remember which direction the cabin was. But I could hear the sound of people talking far off in the distance, so I decided to move in that direction. The closer I got to the sound of chatter, I realized it sounded like some men arguing. “No, uh-uh. I ain’t doin’ it. You go out there yourself then. I’m goin’ home!” I heard, as they came into my sight. “Oh, you’ve got to be kidding me,” I said to myself.
As I was about to emerge from the woods, they must have heard me because the three mountain men I saw trespassing on my yard now had a trespasser on theirs. Or at least someone’s property. Funny how fate often accompanies irony. They pointed their guns in my direction. Bang! A bullet ricocheted off a tree near me. I crouched down immediately, covering Lizzie. “Jesus Christ! Don’t shoot!” I cried out. “What in the sam hell?” said one of the mountain men. “I think there be a god damn person out there!” I walked out of the forest with the dog, my hands up for some reason, and I was shaking. “Are you a stupid sum’a bitch or what? Don’t you city people know you ain’t never wanna walk alone in the forest at night? The hell’s wrong with you?” They lowered their guns. I was too tired, scared, and just lacked the energy to even speak.
“They got some big beasts out there. One of these days we gon’ catch one of them things from space.” I fell to my knees. I suspected they had also encountered these beings. Two of the men began to laugh. “These forests have yet to turn you into a man.” “Can someone please just give me a ride back to my place?” I interjected. There I was, sitting in the passenger seat of one of the men’s old pickup trucks, with my dog in my lap. The inside smelled like wet dog and stale cigarettes.
As we were pulling into the narrow driveway of my cabin, we felt a thud on the ground, and we knew that creature had to be near. As soon as we pulled up to the cabin, Juliana came running outside after she saw me exit the truck. “I was worried sick about you. I thought I was going to have to report you missing,” she said. I think she could tell that I was shook up. “What happened out there?” she asked. We heard another loud thud, and the ground shook. “Dad, what was that?” Teirza asked, as she latched onto Lizzie. I hurried to get everyone inside and offered the mountain man—yes, I still call him that, even though I found his full name and even social security number online—to stay inside until daylight before leaving.
He paused, looking at the ground for a moment, before saying, “Yeah, maybe that’s a good idea.” We dimmed the lights so as not to draw too much attention to the cabin. Juliana, the mountain man, and I all sat in the living room, while Teirza dried Lizzie off with a towel, her gaze fixed intensely out the window. I sat across from him, with nothing but a coffee table between us. He tugged at his beard, glancing nervously toward the window before locking eyes with me. “My uh, cellular phone’s been all screwy lately,” he said. “Started right after those… things showed up. I’m telling ya, it’s gotta be them aliens messing with it.” I tried to hold back a chuckle, for it seemed irony had struck again. He looked at me as if I might confirm his suspicions. “Sounds like your phone may have been hacked,” I suggested. “Really? Hacked?” Juliana chimed in, her tone edging toward accusation. From the corner of my eye, I caught Juliana glaring at me, her arms folded tightly across her chest.
I knew that look well—it was her “I know exactly what you did” stare. I had indeed tinkered with his phone earlier that day. I simply wanted to scare him a bit, after all, I thought he had threatened me on my own property. “Aliens, huh?” I managed to say, trying to keep the conversation light despite Juliana’s scowling face. “That’s one theory,” he nodded. “Yeah, and it ain’t just me. There are things out here, man, things people aren’t supposed to see.”
Juliana continued to glare at me. I knew I’d be hearing about this later. Yes, what I did was illegal, but still, you don’t mess with my family. Besides, for now, we had bigger things to worry about than a hacked phone and a ruffled mountain man. Teirza, her face pressed against the cold glass of the window, gasped. “Dad, look!” Her finger trembled as she pointed outside. The dog again began to growl and show its teeth. As I stood to my feet and walked to the window, I could see the creature staring back at her.
It was crouched down, watching her with the same sense of curiosity it had shown the dog earlier. “Don’t move,” I told her, as I had a strong feeling that the creature had no intention of harming us. But just as I was about to grab her arm and pull her away from the window, the mountain man raised his gun, pointing it at the creature. “No!” my wife and I both yelled. I pulled Teirza away from the window just in time before a shot rang out. The creature was shot directly in its eye and shrieked in pain.
All of us huddled together, getting further from the windows, as we heard it moving around outside. It started clawing furiously at the walls of the cabin, ripping them apart as if they were paper. The windows rattled and the door creaked under the strain of its rage. I could see its eyes, one of them bleeding, as it scanned for any weak points within the cabin. “Get back!” the mountain man shouted as he loaded another round into his shotgun. His hands were steady, despite the fear I witnessed in his eyes.
As the creature lunged at a window, breaking the glass with its claws, he pushed Teirza and me behind him, shouting for us to find cover. Juliana and I grabbed Teirza, pulling her into the hallway, away from the windows. “Get your family safe!” he yelled over the creature’s screeches. The creature broke through the window frame, and the mountain man charged, firing directly into its chest. But its armor ricocheted the bullets, and they had no effect.
The cabin was shaking, and all we could hear were gunshots and the sound of splintering wood. Then, as suddenly as it had started, the chaos paused. We peeked out to see the mountain man, standing by the broken window, breathing heavily. The creature then reached its arm in and ripped him outside through the window. Juliana covered Teirza’s ears as we listened to him scream in agony, his flesh being torn apart, until everything went silent.
As the first signs of daylight began to light the sky, the creature, sensing the change, let out a final howl and retreated. We watched it, in nothing but a state of pure shock, as it disappeared into the trees, where its spacecraft lit up again. A few moments later, the glowing lights from the spacecraft intensified, and with a silent flash, it was gone. I turned to my family; I knew what we had to do. We couldn’t stay here, not after this. Not without understanding more about what lay hidden in these woods.
This is where my story ends, so my advice to anyone thinking of living off the grid is simple: Know the land you’re settling on and talk to the locals. Learn from our story. Because out here, the unknown isn’t just a risk—it can be a matter of life and death.

2024.05.04 11:58 dnapor Do top floor apartments get even hotter in summer?

I currently live in the second floor in my apartment building and now that the third floor apartment is free in considering to move up by a floor for the nice view. It's also the top floor in our building.
Cyprus is already a hot country no matter which floor.
I'm wondering if top floor apartments get even hotter in summer due to the sun hitting from above? Or is there not much difference at all?

2024.04.30 03:38 Madroooskie Trellis for large bougainvilleas

I have two massive bougainvillea that need industrial strength supporting. My plan is to build large torii style trellises. For each trellis the upright posts will be roughly 6”x6”x10’, spaced 12 foot apart topped with 6”x6”x6’ cedar beams and 2”x6”x14’ purlins spanning the beams.
I’ve worked with 6”x6” pt pine post before and they’ve all twisted to some degree. I could spring for kiln dried and call it a day but they’d have to be delivered.
Maybe a second option is to box out each post with (4) 2”x6”x10’ pt and face it with cedar. Any recommendation on box style posts vs. solid kiln dried posts?
Material for box would be PT dimensional and faced with cedar, then painted. Kiln dried posts would be cedar or Cyprus, also painted. Beams and purlins just raw cedar.
What would you do to avoid twisted posts?

2024.04.30 01:51 AwesomeTiger6842 WIBTA if I have my sister and cousin walk me down the isle at my wedding instead of my mom?

First of all, I just want to say that I've been a fan of Charlotte for several months. I originally found your videos by stumbling across them on Facebook and found you so funny.
For simplicity, everyone's fake names will be as follows: Tammy (my sister), Layla (my cousin), Kira (my SIL), my mom, Blake/Jackson/Cyprus (my brothers), Mila (a former teacher who's my friend now and is okay with me calling her by her first name), and Fiora (a woman I'm chatting with currently).
My family is transphobic and think that people who are Trans are lying about their gender identity. Especially my mom's side of the family. I know Blake (24M) will be the first to just on the fact that she wasn't born a female and delegitimize the relationship when he meets her if she and I do decide we want to date after we're able to meet in person for the first time.
My mom's side of the family is very Catholic because that's how they were raised. They always talk about how gay marriage shouldn't be allowed in church because of the whole "love the sinner, not the sin" bullshit.
I can't see her as my best friend anymore and there's a whole backstory to that (and I'll link some posts in the comments that you all can check out if you want).
Now, to the part where I'm wondering if I'd be the ahole. I'd also have some of my friends I graduated with as my bridesmaids.
So, WIBTA if I have my sister and cousin walk me down the isle at my wedding instead of my mom? Also, would I be the ahole if I just wanted my mom as a guest and to not invite Blake and Kira?
(Also, I'll just clarify that MtF means male to female. Fiora is Trans male to female. I don't really can't about her being Transgender. I just like her for whom she is.)

2024.04.29 17:14 watermelancholia Where to find football merchandise?

I’m heading to Cyprus in July. I’m an Anorthosis fan so went to the store last year to pick up a shirt. Staying in Agia Napa this time with no car so wanted to know if there’s anywhere else apart from the official store to buy football goods?
Are there many charity or secondhand shops and can you expect to find stuff there?
Went to the mall last year and remember the sports shops not stocking any football shirts.

2024.04.28 16:47 365Happy-Days The Creatures in the Night

But as I moved the beam upward to illuminate the tops of the trees, my blood ran cold. What I thought were two grotesque, oddly shaped trees, were… legs! I didn’t realize it was a creature until I saw its torso. It was massive and muscular, encased in what looked like metallic armor. I knew it had to be wearing some type of clothing, by the way the light reflected back toward me.
As I watched in stunned silence, the creature lowered itself onto its hind legs, its massive arms slamming down on each side of Lizzie with a force that sent tremors rippling through the forest floor.
There are things out here, man, things people aren’t supposed to see.” Juliana continued to glare at me.

There are things out here, man, things people aren’t supposed to see.” Juliana continued to glare at me.

2024.04.27 17:13 Adventurous_Air_6718 Buying property in North Cyprus.

Hello, im planning on buying two properties for around 700-800k euros.
I will buy them to just rent them out, found one apartment in Nicosia which after fully adapting and renovating will cost me around 400k euro (its great location).
Other one is in Kyrenia, very close to the beach.
I will probably be looking to rent out one in Nicosia for around 1500 euros a month.
Kyrenia one 900-1000e.
Im just interested in legal aspect of it, because i know that there is some problems with Republic of Cyprus because of land.
So if something happens in future i wouldnt not want to lose those properties.
But this does seem to be great opportunity to make money.
Whats your advice? How can i make sure land i buy wasnt taken by force from someone.

i am walking around the globe and walked around Chile last summer
they have managed to eradicate everything bigger than a rabbit from the entire sub continent outside the unreachable wilderness
my anger is just. i can not contain it
all purchased land has been destroyed by negligence
my Swedish nature can not be further from their nature
i saw with my own eyes over river quilecho latitude 41 a female puma with two kids take a sheep in broad day light because there are NO WILD ANIMALS bigger than a rabbit

all purchased land from 40 to 55 degrees latitude has been destroyed
do i need to say that again
can you tell me how much land mass in the southern hemisphere fits that description and how much it matters for summer life

just because I am in semi retirement doesn't mean full retire ment. i can still help with strategic work
it is daunting
i stepped out of my hostel before my connecting flight back. electric vehicles specifically electric kick bikes that i used in Stockholm for at least ten years are illegal on my street. only one small rich suburb has legalised them
i talked with the operator lime and the university and they just shrug. we don't want a bullet in the head...
that's just life in Russia or Chile. open your mouth and enjoy the rest of your life in a cage like Mikhail khodorokovsky
send me a personal message with a brief story about your life
it is well known that i usually score in the upper ten million in general aptitude tests and some people are intimidated by that
my uncle scored in the top ten billion in weight lifting for fifty years. it's just nature more than nurture
the idea that they can not understand anything i say anyway or that i am above the problems of brain dead apes. absolutely wrong i live on this planet too i am not above anything even if i struggle with personally teaching students like bill gates does and i can not with a straight face explain that i am installing sit down toilet chairs in Nigeria. i am not antropo centric or euro centric like gates the third
i flew over the equator with a window seat near the source of the Amazon and i am well aware they are not begging for toilet seats in that endless featureless forest that remains. for them far away from the struggling farmers at the out skirts. i am talking about pre farming substinence.
just a paranthesis since I am often compared to bill gates that mirrored my life in the 1960s compared to mine in 1990s when to some suprise i was unbeatable in academic thinking just like my uncle had been unbeaten in lifting weights since he was born ten years ahead of gates the third. both of them are anthropo centric because only i prefer to live in nature day and night. although I am like all apes uncomfortable alone in the dark
so far nothing tonight despite being on the pig trail above the lake. on an abandoned bridge. trails are abundant but i had to struggle some last evening to track north. don't remind me of Chile in this respect neither two legged or four legged creatures would ever step up a trail anywhere. caminar? poco. no one walks. it's just a prime example of the hardy Weinberg law and mean regression to minimal effort. i am an outlier today but would not have been even hundred years ago when my grand father toiled in the forest without engines to assist
incidentally my amplified senses are tortured by the sputtering noise of those things which has steered me away from them. i am even relieved to not have the roaring wind and ocean drain through the night as last night over the south east Baltic sea or lake really the Baltic Scandinavian basin.
especially combustion engines are absolutely intolerable for my system anything moving faster than twenty km per hour or five meters per second is pure madness
i am just adding personal anecdotes to my message because it's the only chance anyone inside the fund is going to relate to me which is difficult but not impossible
don't be afraid to message me an audio recording is what I prefer
and we can do business
The southern hemisphere is really where I can add something because I might visit again if I get tired of new Zealand which has a terrestrial eco system including large plant eaters
Or Tasmania which is nearly to hot for a tent expedition on two wheels
I will attempt south Africa near the beach but I have to trek inland to obtain food away from the beach and the heat might be too much to me. The Canarian desert I am all too tired of despite excellent or the best wave protected snorkeling waters in the developed world. I would add Cyprus to that list if it could be considered developed. I walked across the buffer zone with my pack and was put in jail in the confusion. I have asked UN for a service pass and they don't get it. I am WALKING there is bound to be confusion. They apologised profusely but was unable to find a legal loop hole to avoid shuttering my expedition in the mess of walking across the labyrinth of military borders ...
I will probably not have much to say about the south African environment ever because it is impossible for me to explore it freely because of my migraine heat and stress related. Ten degrees Celsius is my comfort zone. About five now and even that relieves my head ache mightily
I was up to two grams of ibu and para two or even three grams each at 40 degrees summer latitude. A gigantic obstacle. Although the aquatic ecosystem around the Corcovado bay of chiloe west coast was just as impressive as when my predecessor and master Darwin visit around my age on a similar long expedition lasting several months in Chile in 1840s
One speeding boat around families of dolphin and sea lions had my blood boiling but luckily no one was harmed. No human. Which would be illegal people remind me. But not running a speed boat when a seal family is feeding.... Luckily I was not able to act on MY instinct in this case. Which would be to toss the driver in the water and tell him to try to avoid his boat when I run I straight at him at high speed
I had to avoid the highest latitudes in Chile because their complete lack of. Or lack of HELP to industrialise . The villages are too far apart for my old knees and can not support my expedition
I struggled with my migraine even in chiloe in march. Too hot
Whether I return or not I will forever wonder what can be done about it
I feel that wild life management has succeeded in Europe because not a single soul says yay or nay. Whatever is proposed is accepted. Set free ten cows near the lake. Sound like a disaster since they are DOMESTICATED animals there are no wild aurochs except in your imagination but still you got through with it
Lots of horse droppings on the west side of the lake as well as wolf and some other. But notably horse detritus
I applaud this effort in any case even if the signs could be more comprehensive of scientific interest even if not much bigger
Most of them were just nonsense or vacuous not really saying anything. Although you got some ideas by. I have really nothing to complain about in his case except the obvious. WILD horses and cows with conspicuously missing scientific name. Wild pig Sus scrofa. Wild horse... Wait what!?
How you got away with that I don't know but now I have learned there are real disasters of neglect on this planet
Where I might visit which is if anywhere outside Europe
Still working on the Swedish humans in forest is LEGAL period. Mentality. It's still gray zone .
Anyway. I might visit terra del fuego or chiloe again and I am wondering what kind of obstacle beside th obvious
No se
No se nada
No understand ingles
What obstacle did you encounter. Real obstacle. In Chile. Is it just completely impossible to get a mandate even if you arrange ever thing from resources inside the fund. Do everything yourself
I have struggled my whole life to get a mandate to finally buy Kaliningrad that was mistakenly given to Russia in all the commotion in 45. I just encountered a brick wall of angry russian despite telling them every time that the previous Alaska purchase went of without a hitch and I could arrange everything with my own means in a way. Do everything myself including dotting the t and i
This might be outside your goals but I frequent walk around the Scandinavian basin and it's more than I can stomach to see that imbecile russian sign and the refusal of anyone to invite me because of my activist status and have to park ever thing or transport around it
My only ONLY interest in the northern hemisphere is to return könings berg to United Europe
Now I am completely incognito to preserve energy but I will return to it
Unfortunately I am just as power less as watching the Hitler election or Jesus lynched by imbecile apes. My blood is boiling but I am power less alone.
I need your help
Hitler was just as talkative as me but he struggled with one plus one or basic arithmetic.
I hope you can tell the difference I am maybe the fiercest intellect alive today on this planet
And maybe even others I wondered when I could finally see alpha cen Taurus clearly in the southern sky below Vela. Haha
I am just typing until I fall asleep
I usually correspond with audio speech recording and leave the typing to the diligent legal staff you got that can dot the t

2024.04.26 10:46 Top-Associate4922 How were both Romans during civil wars of late Republic and Macedonians/Hellenes/Greeks during Wars of the Diadochi able to have such a firm control over just recently conquered nations and territories, and even expand further, while being completely preoccupied with devastating civil conflicts?

I find it fascinating, and at the same time I cannot understand, how both of these "cultures" repeatedly devastated their capacities in endless massive bloody civil conflicts, yet they still found enough capacities to conquer new territories, firmly hold conquered territories and quickly quash any rebellion. From what reserve pool did they draw? Where they uniquely resilient or resourceful? If so, in what way? Or simply uniquely feared?
As for Romans, just in 1st century BC, Rome went through Social War, Bellum Octavianum, Sulla Civil wars, Sertorian War, Serville Wars (Slave rebellions), Caesar's civil war, Mutina war, Liberators' civil war, Bellum Siculum, Perusine War, War of Actium. All of these wars saw tens of thousands of legionaries killed, some of these wars saw largest battles Rome was ever involved in. Yet during this period Rome conquered whole of Anatolia (incl. powerful Kingdom of Pontus), whole of Gaul, Cyprus, Crete, what was future province of Africa, future province of Mauretania, Syria, Judea, Egypt, expanded in Hispania, expanded in Illyria... They also managed to fought with Parthians. Just a year after Augustus consolidated power after Actium, he went on for an extremely bloody and costly Cantabrian war. And won. How?
As for Macedonians, under Alexander they had just conquered incredibly massive territories, including the whole Persian empire itself, lost huge amount of soldiers along the way, many of them just on the return journey from India. They must have been already weakened. To control all these new territories even under such a strongman and personal cult is extremely tricky. But soon after, Alexander died, and I would have expected that the respect and fear of conquered native population would die too with his death and they would get rid of the rest of Macedonian army. Not only that did not happen, Macedonian army disintegrated among many Macedonian armies that constantly fought against each others in absolutely devastating wars for next 40 years! Some of these wars saw battles maybe larger than those during Alexander's conquest (like Ipsus). Apart from some far-away satrapies, nobody really seceded from Macedonian control and every rebellion was quickly crushed. How?

school final exams will become admission exams for universities, and the number of exams will be reduced.

The government discussed the ongoing education reforms and a pilot program launched in Tavush.
EDUCATION MINISTER: For the graduates of the public schools of Tavush region, new opportunities for admission to universities will be established, which is also considered a component of these important reforms in the field of education, according to which, at the end of studies with new educational standards, school final exams will also become admission exams for universities. From 2026, this system will be in operation for all graduates of Armenia.
We have developed entirely new types of exam tests that will shift from measuring purely the knowledge to measuring the competency that includes practical and application components. This is finally going to address the yearslong complaint that exams are promoting a culture of mechanical անգիր անել (memorization). The new tests will measure critical thinking.
PASHINYAN: Starting this year the graduates in Tavush, and from 2026 the graduates of schools in Yerevan and all provinces can use the points they received in the school's final exams to enter a university.
EDUCATION MINISTER: In the future, the entrance exams will be computerized, and the number of exams will also be reduced. The student's average grade from multiple subjects will also be taken into account, as it's currently done in other countries. For the latter to work as intended, we are changing how students are graded in schools. Students do not receive a graduation score in 1-5 grades. This year in Tavush the graduation exams for 9th grades won't be based on numerical scores but rather an attestation summary. This year in May we will organize a unified test for 3 subjects in a centralized manner to check the progress of our 4th graders. The 9th graders' STEM exams were recently rewritten to include practical components since now they have access to labs. As for literature and history, we have combined them into an essay requirement; this will be tested for the first time in Tavush this year. These are the multiple grading changes that we hope will reform the system.
PASHINYAN: What steps will you take to ensure teachers don't rig the exams to give students higher grades?
EDUCATION MINISTER: The submissions are checked by computers, not humans. The exams are organized by the Assessment and Testing Center. This year's experiment in Tavush will uncover the potential issues ahead of a wider rollout. The exams should be taken on computers, not paper as it's done today.
Also, if we see that everyone in the school gets high grades, we organize external exams and if they show a significant discrepancy with the average grades in the school, we will demand answers. We already have experience with this, and sometimes it's the other way around, sometimes students perform significantly better in external tests because some teachers principally refuse to give the highest "10" grade to any student. So the external assessment practice aims to resolve that as well. After COVID we introduced the electronic scorebook so we can see every grade in every school.
PASHINYAN: Once again, did I get it right that we won't have separate entrance exams?
EDUCATION MINISTER: We must gradually shift to a system in which universities set their minimum entry requirements and we must ensure that our school graduates meet those requirements. We are also implementing a credit system in high schools. We already have examples of cooperation between universities and schools to use school credits for the entrance process.
PASHINYAN: Got it. So before we get there, we are reforming the exams and tests, making them electronic, etc.

Government greenlights an amendment to the Criminal Code to more clearly define what "cybercrime" is, and to ban cash transactions of crypto

The proposed regulation is designed to ensure the formation of effective legislative bases in the context of the fight against cybercrime, forming the necessary material bases and procedural tools in line with international legal requirements.
INTERIOR MINISTRY: Along with the development of IT, cybercrimes have also increased, reaching a large volume in Armenia, but when we try to understand what cybercrimes are, we notice that there is confusion in the public domain. Today we do not have a clear definition of cybercrime, and the first amendment of the bill is aimed at it, so we define the list of cybercrimes in the Criminal Code. This will also allow us to better cooperate with international partners and meet international requirements.
INTERIOR MINISTRY: During a criminal investigation we often reach a roadblock after learning that the cryptocurrency was purchased or sold in cash. There are tens of companies in Armenia that process crypto with cash. The bill will require all crypto sales and purchases to be electronic.
This amendment will also expand the scope of investigators' warrants so they can conduct searches in the cloud systems remotely managed by the suspects instead of only the computers under their physical possession; they'll need to obtain only one warrant from the court. The draft package was drafted with the help of state institutions and U.S. colleagues.
PASHINYAN: That's good, but there is no legislative regulation defining what cryptocurrency is in Armenia. We have a law requiring public officials to disclose crypto assets yet the law currently doesn't properly define what it is. We need to have a legal regulation for crypto.
CENTRAL BANK: It's coming. The crypto regulation bill will be published soon. Today's bill will address the traceability of crypto to combat crime. Crypto is used mainly as an investment asset rather than a currency for transactions, so we want to make the crypto field more transparent and trustworthy to protect our citizens and investors.
PASHINYAN: Great. It's long overdue. Do we know what the size of the shadow economy is driven by crypto? Every luma that legally belongs to the state must be collected, and we need to understand the volume of "lobbying" that's done through crypto because it's turning into offshore 2.0.
IRS CHIEF: We have introduced the second bill to tax crypto transactions. It's important to synchronize these two in order not to leave a legislative gap that would force local crypto exchanges to shut down. Since the Central Bank's bill is extensive and will require years for companies to comply, we propose intermediary KYC requirements and a system to exchange information with the relevant authorities, to allow crypto exchanges to operate before the full implementation of the law.

surging U.S. presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy calls for U.S. to sanction Azerbaijan until the safe return of Armenians to Nagorno-Karabakh: VIDEO

KENNEDY: We must act now to hold Azerbaijan accountable by calling for the release of the hostages and enforcing sanctions until a safe and viable path for the return of the indigenous Armenians to Artsakh is achieved. I want to commit the U.S. to the restoration of the sovereignty of Armenia and Artsakh, and to the restoration of its territory. Instead of starting another war somewhere, I want to stop one.

65% of Nagorno-Karabakh refugees have no desire to leave Armenia: National Democratic Institute survey

REPORTER: Russian peacekeepers are leaving Nagorno-Karabakh. This was expected after the ethnic cleansing, but not so soon. How did you respond to the news?
STEPANYAN (Artsakh Ombudsman): It was indeed clear that the peacekeepers would leave but as you've said, we were not expecting it to happen 1.5 years before than the 5-year term. Just two weeks ago the Russian ambassador to Armenia told an Armenian outlet that the peacekeepers remained there to ensure the safe return of Armenians.
REPORTER: Russian officials were also saying that their peacekeepers were protecting Armenian properties.
STEPANYAN: Yes, also that. So it was a surprise for us given the complete lack of signs. We have contacts with American and Russian circles and none of them ever brought up the early withdrawal of peacekeepers.
QUESTION: What is the theory among Artsakhtsis about the withdrawal?
STEPANYAN: There were people who didn't take the news lightly because they thought the presence of Russians was the last hope for their return, and no one has the right to blame them for feeling that. There were also people who thought the withdrawal of Russians could allow for the deployment of an international contingent that could pave the way for return.
REPORTER: What's your personal opinion?
STEPANYAN: I never maintained a hope that we could return with the presence of Russians. I think the return cannot be guaranteed by a single state. If the so-called international community has a wish to ensure the return then it has to be done under international guarantees.
REPORTER: Do you see it theoretically possible for Armenia and Azerbaijan to reach an agreement for Azerbaijan to provide certain conditions, mechanisms, and security guarantees for the return?
STEPANYAN: The refugees won't agree to return without an international military-political presence. We are talking about physical security and not being under the jurisdiction of Azerbaijan.
REPORTER: Did Artsakh become part of the "Armenian question", if you know what I mean?
STEPANYAN: I still believe it's possible not to concede our position on the issue of Artsakh and to continue our struggle.
REPORTER: What do you mean?
STEPANYAN: There is still a UN World Court case about the discrimination against Artsakh Armenians. Who knows, maybe this will give us a legal path to promote our agenda. When we raise the right to return, various members of the Armenian government say our rhetoric endangers Armenia's security and it's unrealistic. I disagree.
REPORTER: Here is the issue. When we continue to give refugees hope for return, it keeps them in a state of permanent anticipation so they don't fully settle and integrate into Armenia and they don't live their lives in full in Armenia, which opens up the door for emigration. What is the solution?
STEPANYAN: A survey says the two things that give hope to refugees are the possibility of return and the possibility of having an apartment in Armenia. They want to have safe housing in Armenia with the hope of returning to Artsakh one day.
REPORTER: 65% said they don't want to emigrate from Armenia. The vast majority of the other 35% see Russia as the potential destination. How do you explain the latter? There is dissatisfaction with Russia's inability to protect them yet a large share of the population is willing to live in Russia.
STEPANYAN: People want to leave because of poor living conditions. Why Russia? (1) They have friends and relatives residing in Russia who are actively convincing them to move there. It's not necessarily the refugees' idea to move to Russia, but they are being called from Russia. (2) They speak Russian and can more easily integrate and find work. (3) Living conditions. They say housing and food is cheaper in Russia.
REPORTER: Some Russian officials and business figures even said they are willing to house and help them find employment in Russia.
STEPANYAN: I've heard those reports as well, and that it's an organized policy by the state of Russia. I can't confirm this.
REPORTER: You and the ex-Ombudsman make foreign trips and hold meetings. Is there a coordination with the Armenian government?
STEPANYAN: No. During our trips we discuss the right to return; this is not an active part of Armenia's foreign policy. We also discuss several other topics that are part of Armenia's agenda, for example, the protection of cultural heritage, the return of captives, and the rallying of wider international support for the needs of refugees.
REPORTER: You said the right to return is not part of Armenia's agenda, yet you also stated that it's part of the UN World Court case brought by Armenia. Doesn't that mean it's actually part of the Armenian government's agenda?
STEPANYAN: The World Court case was launched before Armenia changed its policy, and it wasn't explicitly about the right to return, although the Court did give the order to guarantee the right to a safe return. Armenia's legal actions against Azerbaijan and the political position of not demanding the right to return currently do not match.
REPORTER: Some argue that it's a strategy used by Armenia to pressure Azerbaijan in courts while politically using a softer tone to achieve peace.
STEPANYAN: I can't comment on that. I see it differently.

Azerbaijani President Aliyev about the border delimitation in the Tavush-Kazakh section

ALIYEV: Up to 12 kilometers of our state border has been demarcated. This is an important moment. It's no coincidence that several regional and non-regional states have expressed their support for this process. Let's see how it continues. This shows that bilateral contacts bring results when the situation is not being used for political ambitions.
Both sides have shown constructiveness in this process because we understand the sensitivities and the international obligations, and if the same approach is adopted during the next phase, the process can advance even faster.
The border must be safe for both sides. Obviously, it must be demarcated based on principles. At the same time, there are parts of the border that raise issues for both of us. This is in regard to roads and sometimes security mechanisms. Of course we accept the border line as the basis, but instead of blindly following the line we must be smart and reach agreements that will make borders safe and comfortable for both of us. //

Q&A with Parliament President Alen Simonyan

SIMONYAN (to reporters): Armenia and Azerbaijan have agreed to demarcate these borders in Tavush. This is great for Armenia and Azerbaijan and it makes the border safer, while each side gets to keep the triangles of lands as part of the agreement. A third state [Russia] is pressuring our opposition to derail this AM-AZ peace process so we can have a conflict so they can send peacekeepers to "resolve the conflict". We don't want their peacekeepers, we want to monitor our stable borders.
These forces regularly visit our border villages to spread misinformation and play on residents' emotions. Not the entire population of our Tavush villages is protesting this process. We will rebuild or re-route any road or bridge if necessary; there is no such issue that cannot be addressed along the entire Georgia-Iran line. It is much more beneficial for Armenia to have a stable demarcated border.
Our soldiers are going to stand near Kizil-Hajili village and observe it; why don't you ever report that? Azeris are going to wake up and see the Armenian flag every morning. You won't report that but you always cite Aliyev. You love Aliyev, not even Azerbaijani media outlets cite him so much, so why don't you also cite his statement this morning about the successful demarcation of 12 kilometers?
The heads of offices of opposition parties, ARF and Armenia factions, and agents of foreign intel, are sending figures to Tavush to lie to the population. They will gather 40 people, scream and shout on the roads, then go home. Their mentality is that wherever our soldier stands, the area belongs to us. This is wrong and neither Armenia nor Azerbaijan should do that. Our plan is to reproduce the state border from Georgia to Iran.
REPORTER: What about the main road in Voskepar that crosses the state border?
SIMONYAN: We will move it 150 meters or 1 km if necessary, that's not an unresolvable issue.
REPORTER: Is it possible Armenia could exchange the [Armenian] Berkaber triangle [that's under Azeri control] for [Azerbaijani] Voskepar triangle [that's under Armenian control]?
SIMONYAN: It's too early to tell but I haven't heard such plans.
REPORTER: [unintelligible] is it possible Armenia could buy gas from Azerbaijan? Is it realistic?
SIMONYAN: That would be very positive, very good. I think we should discuss that issue. It's not like the gas we currently use it's partially Azeri. I'm confident that under the RU-AZ gas agreement, by in large, it's the same gas that enters Armenia. Another excellent option is to install a gas pipeline and import gas from Iran. [Scandal brewing guys 🤔]
REPORTER: Are there such discussions [to purchase Azeri gas] right now?
SIMONYAN: No, but I read about it today. I'll talk to our colleagues about it. I can't predict what their response will be. [Damn. This was Alen's post-2018 megaplan that he hasn't even drafted yet. Incompetent fool. 🤔]
REPORTER: Did [Russian Senate leader] Matvienko send you a letter? { Context in Wednesday report }
SIMONYAN: I haven't received one yet. They always talk about the centuries-old friendship of Armenian and Russian people yet they didn't even send a letter on the 109nd anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
REPORTER: You made an anti-Russian statement in Europe, angering Matvienko.
SIMONYAN: I participated in a forum headlined "illegal occupation" of Ukraine by Russia but I even went as far as to remove from my speech the word "illegal" not to upset Russia. My statement was fully in line with international law, while Russia's actions are not in line with the agreements signed by Russia.
REPORTER: You said Armenia recognizes the territorial integrity of Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, and Cyprus.
SIMONYAN: Yes. That was/is Armenia's official policy. Even Belarus and Turkey don't recognize the [newly captured Ukrainian territories] as part of Russia. Has Matvienko sent them complaint letters? This stems from the fact that Russia does not believe Armenia should be an independent state. Their perception is that Armenia is still a remote province of Russia. HOW DARE YOU VISIT A SUMMIT INDEPENDENTLY AND GIVE A SPEECH WITHOUT FIRST CLEARING IT WITH US! Has Armenia ever NOT recognized Ukraine's territorial integrity? Didn't Russia itself admit that they "entered the territory of Ukraine" to carry out the "special military operation"? Yes or no? If they "entered Ukraine", where are they located right now? What do you call this? I even decided not to use the word "illegal" in my speech in order not to upset them.

The killing of the bull is symbolic of murdering nature, dominating nature and, let's face it, that is precisely what the Roman Empire, the Venetian Black Nobility and now the Crown Corporation are all about.

The Rothschilds and the Rockefellers are NOT the pinnacle of power in the world, despite rumours and propaganda seen daily in social media. It is also erroneous to call researchers and revisionists "conspiracy theorists" or the ideas they have gleaned from their studies "conspiracy theories" .They are doing the best they can with limited time, energy and materials. The internet is as fraught with disinformation as all the universities and schools put together so people can be forgiven for making the mistake of ceasing their search at the level of the banking staff.
The Mithras museum, created as part of the new Bloomberg HQ in London, is dedicated to preserving a Temple of Mithras buried deep underground, which gives you a bold clue about what the Crown Corporation and its minions, like Michael Bloomberg, are intending to do with their gluttonous and sickening power. Entrance to this religious dungeon is free of charge and by appointment only. Remember nothing is ever truly free. The expense of this extravagant work has been borne by the Bloomberg fortune for a very good reason. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Bloomberg
The owners see themselves as members of the future overseers of a grim and horrific control network, aptly symbolised by the deification of Mithras in the modern world.

Venice was the centre of efforts to destroy the advanced European civilization of the 11th and 12th centuries and bears a burden of guilt for the ascendancy of the Black Nobility Guelphs and the black plague.
Napoleon forced the end of this vile organism during his Italian campaign of 1797, but the cancer had already infected Geneva, Amsterdam, London and elsewhere. Though the sovereignty of Venice had been extinguished, its methods lived on to the 20th century. We know it as Fascism.
Venice is today, through its Cini Foundation and its Societé Europeenne de Culture, the Club Of Rome think tank. Venice is the supranational homeland of the New Dark Ages gang, the unifying symbol for the Utopian lunatic fringe in the international intelligence community today.

How did Venice become so hidden and yet powerful?

Between 300 and 400 AD the Roman aristocrats who later became infamous: Candiano, Faliero, Dandolo found the islands of Venice lagoons provided an invulnerable refuge when they fled the Goth, Hun and Langobard armies. The main influx of displaced Roman senators came during the raids of Attila the Hun in 452 AD.

Venice survived thanks to their alliance with Emperor Justinian in Constantinople, an alliance underlined by intermarriage of Venetian oligarchs with the nobility of Byzantium.
Thus, a faction embodying the traditions of the Roman Senate continued beyond the fall of Rome in 476.
The basis of Venetian opulence was slavery, practiced against Saracens, Mongols, Turks and Christians.
This included Italians and Greeks, who were most highly valued as galley slaves. Germans and Russians were shipped in from Tana.
Later, black Africans became popular among the nobility.
Islands like Crete, Cyprus, Corfu, Naxos and smaller holdings in the Aegean were worked by slave labour, directly under the Venetian regime.
https://preview.redd.it/ajfvux71hawc1.png?width=600&format=png&auto=webp&s=0bc943ead8c732159e95e48f33875d23080fcb8d

Venice became the leading port of the Mediterranean.

Indistinguishable from slave operations were piracy and buccaneering, other staples of the Venetian economy. Wars with Genoa or others were opportunities to loot. Piracy was routine commerce during decades of treachery and mayhem.
Venetian production from the earliest period was essentially nil, apart from salt and the glass manufacture of Murano. The role of the Venetian merchant was as a profiteer who conned both buyer and seller, backing up his monopolisation with war galleys of the battle fleet.

Venice remained impervious to invasion from the first settlement until 1797.

In the typology of Plato’s Republic, Venice was an oligarchy, “a constitution according to property, in which the rich govern and the poor man has no share” or “rule of the few, a constitution of evils”. By 1297 all male members of the 150 noble families had the permanent right to a seat in the Gran Consiglio, or Great Council, which grew to 2000 members around 1500 and thereafter slowly declined. They kept ambassadors in all national courts, war ministers and naval officers
In later centuries, the harems of the entire Ottoman Empire, from the Balkans to Morocco, were stocked by Venetian procured slaves.

Dante visited Venice in 1321. He died shortly after leaving, in fear for his life. He had been forced to follow a path through the swamps which caused him to sicken with malaria. A boat may have been available, but to board it meant certain assassination! Venetian records of the event have conveniently disappeared.

What was the Venetian political method?

The apparently ‘weaker’ power plays off two or more major empires against each other. First the Langobard Kingdom of Italy was played against the Byzantines. Then they attempted to play the Byzantines off against the Carolingian Empire in the West, which almost misfired. In the 11th century, the Venetians successfully incited Norman barons, operating out of Sicily under Robert Guiscard, to attack Byzantium and then moved in to offer the desperate Byzantines protection. The price for that protection was mentioned in the famous Golden Bull of 1082. It was a decree of the Byzantine Emperor by which Venice acquired customs-free access to the eastern empire, where the Greeks themselves had to pay a tax of 10% on their transactions. Thus began a hatred for Venice among the Greek population which persists to the present day. In the 16th century, Venetian strategy was to play the Ottoman Turks against the Spanish and Austrian Hapsburgs and then to play the Hapsburgs off against the French!

The Venetians also goaded forces of the East to attack Christendom. Venice was the manipulator of Saracens, Mongols and Turks. In particular, the Venetians were more willing to see territory (except Venetian territory) occupied by Turks than any other power.
https://preview.redd.it/56l423eahawc1.png?width=474&format=png&auto=webp&s=720af0c91fa392ce1d694cb9ae0b4661ab7a6bc4
Venice was repeatedly confronted by a triumphant enemy who had to be manipulated to self-destruct, not in any old way, but in a precise and specific way that served the Venetian interests. Does this sound impossible? What is astounding is how often it has succeeded and still does! Effectively, they used their enemies as mercenaries by ensnaring them in debt and offering to cancel the debt if they fought for Venice!
From 1203 to 1204, Constantinople was besieged by the joint Franco-Venetian force and Byzantium was sacked in an orgy of violence and destruction. Venice took over part of Constantinople, created a permanent Venetian colony with its own battle fleet. Lemnos, Gallipoli, Crete, Naxos, related islands and the large island of Euboa were annexed. On the Ionian side, the Venetians snatched Modon, Koron and several islands including Corfu.

The loot from Constantinople was greater than anything Europe saw until the Spanish fleets from the Americas centuries later! Venice acquired an empire of naval bases in the eastern Mediterranean and the sultan of Egypt bribed them to keep the Crusaders out of Palestine! Bonus!

Another factor was the Mongol hordes. The Venetians were spies for Genghis Khan guiding them to sack Baghdad.

At the time the Venetians were sacking Constantinople, Genghis Khan ruled over an empire from Korea to Iran and which was advancing West. Batu, a nephew of Genghis, defeated the Bulgarians in 1236, captured Ukraine in 1240 & swept into Poland. The Mongols did not go in like reckless barbarians. They advanced according to a careful plan. At every stage, the Mongols were informed by Venetian merchants, like Marco Polo’s father. Later, Polo himself was welcomed at the court of Kublai Khan and became an administrator to the Khan. So the great Marco Polo and the Venetian family from which he came, was responsible for directing Genghis Khan into war against Europe. The omnipresent Venetian intelligence was also a factor in the Mongol destruction of the Arab cultural centre of Baghdad in 1258.

Shakespeare’s play “Othello, The Moor of Venice” is an analysis of the Venetian technique.

It was written and performed shortly after 1603, when the Venetians and Genoese had acquired power in England through the accession of their puppet James I to the throne. In the play, Othello is hired out to Venice as a mercenary at the apex of his power having just won a victory over the Turkish fleet attacking Cyprus. He enjoys the full confidence of the Senate and has just married Desdemona, the daughter of a patrician. Othello, the moor barbarian, is something of a dumb giant! His proficiency in war is unmatched, but his emotions tend decidedly toward the naive and infantile. He has no insight into affairs of state or psychology. Above all, he is superstitious and is inclined to be jealous. These weaknesses are exploited by Iago, a member of Othello’s staff who intends to destroy him. Iago is like a Venetian intelligence officer, an expert manipulator: "Make the Moor thank me, love me and reward me for making him an ass and practicing upon his peace even to madness." He sets up a fight that leads to a wounding. After this, he manipulates Desdemona’s naive desire to help a friend into prima facie evidence that Desdemona is an adulteress. Iago is then able to goad Othello all the way to killing Desdemona and finally, himself.
So we can see that Shakespeare and presumably his audience were familiar with the style and cruelty of Venetian geo-politics.

Foundation of a new Roman Empire

The real danger for Venice by 1600 was a hostile power that developed defences against manipulation and deceit. In the face of such, Venice did, and does kill. The foundation of a new Roman Empire became, in Venice, from the middle of the 15th century on, the leading obsession of the oligarchs
https://preview.redd.it/18f5jtgnhawc1.png?width=538&format=png&auto=webp&s=e3f18e7bc800a4f04cbe759c82fb24cc6f10c306
Machiavelli noted that the two most dangerous forces in Italy around the turn of that century were the Venetians and the Pope. His hatred was directed especially against Venice for wanting to subjugate Italy in a new Roman Empire. He despised Venice for its armies of mercenaries.

All Europe turned against Venice.

Machiavelli exulted when the Venetians lost everything they had conquered over the preceding 800 years.
With nothing left but the lagoons, the Venetian position was desperate due to their reputation for arrogance, violation of promises, lechery and sodomy.
The Italian Renaissance during the rest of the 16th century was only one event of several in Europe.

Another was the Protestant Reformation.

Luther’s real clout was publicity that owed much to the Venetian publishing presses turning out 40,000 copies of his "heretical" writings. Playing both sides of the religious argument against each other the Venetians supported Ignatius Loyola from abject poverty, to Jerusalem and back, until he established the Jesuits who were to become a military force, dedicated to serve the Pope and crush Protestantism.

The Venetians sat back & watched the fireworks.

\Around 1570 Venice had the first example in Europe of a “salon” for socialising and literary discussion: the Ridotto Morosini, sponsored by the ancient family of the same name. Here the seeds were sown that would later produce free-thinking, l’esprit libertin and the Philosophes.

The Venetians initiated the Enlightenment.

The Ridotto Morosini salon was in favour of tolerance and science, against everything doctrinaire and narrow. They sheltered Galileo against the Inquisition. Out of the Morosini salon came a rare public faction in Venetian history, the Giovani i.e., the youth.
The Giovani wanted profound innovations in Venetian foreign policy. They wished to cement alliances with the countries to whom they felt the future belonged: France, England and the Netherlands. The main supporter of Venice internationally was James I, the Stuart ruler of England and Scotland.

In 1603, Venice and Genoa teamed up, created a banking dynasty and assumed direction of the finances of Stuart England imparting their characteristic ruthless methods to the British East India Company.

The financial centre of old Venice was on the move north.

They created the Amsterdam Bank, the financial hinge of the 17th century and the Dutch East India Company.
Venice and Genoa were also the midwives for the great financial power growing up in Geneva, which controlled the French public debt and they continued to foster the Enlightenment. The Venetians began a major move into maritime and other types of insurance. These ventures live on today in the biggest business enterprise associated with Venice, the Assicurazioni Generali Venezia, one of the biggest insurance and real estate holdings in the world.

On May 12, 1797 the Gran Consiglio of Venice obeyed Napoleon’s ultimatum and voted itself out of existence

4,000 French infantrymen paraded where foreign troops had never before in history been seen. The Venetian “Republic” was gone, but it now existed in a more clandestine form. 3,000 Venetian naval personnel, about 1/3rd of their available strength, were serving the British Royal Navy just as the American Revolution began. During the 19th century and onwards, with its military and financial power hidden, Venice’s political power grew greater than ever.
Count Coudenhove-Kalergi, founder of the Pan-European Union, lived in Venice and Nietzsche visited. Thomas Malthus plagiarised a Venetian when he wrote his Essay on Population. Plans for destroying the Ottoman and Russian empires, (i.e., WW1) were made by Venice spook Alexander Parvus.
Today, the Club of Rome Today, the Club of Rome is the influence that represents the essence of Venetian methods. The Club of Rome convinces people to commit collective suicide by accepting the genocidal doctrine of zero growth. It seeks to abolish sovereign nations and create a totalitarian global state. Perhaps the most daring of plans by the Club of Rome is to financialise nature itself.

Climate Change is its most spectacular propaganda.

2024.04.22 15:14 RAX024 INC Theology and doctrine creates bible contradictions.

INC Theology and doctrine creates bible contradictions.
Question number one
Is there any contradiction in the bible?
The bible shouldn't have any contradiction of itself (verse contradicting the other) nor wrong words in it since I and INC believes it is the exact words of God, now If it's the word of God it should be CORRECT, There shouldn't be any contradiction, its called law of non-contradiction it's defined by theologian
James Montgomery
"If the Bible is truly from God, and if God is a God of truth (as He is), then. If two parts seem to be in opposition or in contradiction to each other, our interpretation of one or both of these parts must be in error.”
Citing Psalm 119:160 ESV
160 The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever.
Question number 2
What are the verses that they use to refuse the divinity of Christ and how does it contradics the other passages
Deuteronomy 6:4 (ESV) 4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.
Mark 12:29 (ESV) 29 Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.
Here you can see of hear ministers say"EhTo Oh Si CrIsTo na mAy SaBi Na I-iSa laNg AnG DiyOs BaKiT Ka MaNiNiwAlA sA TriNitY eh GinAwA LaNg NaMan yAn Sa CouNciL oF NiCea"
Here is where the contradictions starts
Here is the Trinity present in the bible that you heretics avoided(Which they're good at)
The Father being God Philippians 1:2 (ESV) 2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Son being God John 1:1 (ESV) 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:18 (ESV) 18 No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father’s side, he has made him known.
And the Holy spirit. Acts 5:3–4 (ESV) 3 But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back for yourself part of the proceeds of the land? 4 While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not at your disposal? Why is it that you
Just a reminder the doctrine of Trinity is not and will not be a DENIAL of 1 God but an explanation that that 1 God has 3 Co-Equal and Co-Eternal persons with each is a distinct person yet each is identified as God.
Why is it important for us to accept the deity of Christ?
Well here, 1 John 2:23 (ESV)
23 No one who denies the Son has the Father. Whoever confesses the Son has the Father also.
1 John 5:12 (ESV)
12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
1 John 5:20 (ESV)
20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
INC believes that Jesus is just a human Messiah how does this creates Bible contradictions ?
Because even in the Old testament the messiah is not considered as "Just" a human being nor does it speak of the messiah as a mere human being but a God
Pslam 45:6 6 Your throne, O God, is forever and ever.
The scepter of your kingdom is a scepter of uprightness;
In reference to
Hebrews 1:8 (ESV) 8 But of the Son he says,
“Your throne, O God, is forever and ever,
the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom.
And then continue to name him SPECIFICALLY as GOD WITH US
Isaiah 7:14 (ESV) 14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Immanuel or Emmanuel (Hebrew: עִמָּנוּאֵל, romanized: ʿĪmmānūʾēl, meaning, "God with us" or "God is with us"; also romanized: Imanu'el; and Emmanouël or Ἐμμανουήλ in Koine Greek of the New Testament) in image 1
The messiah is called A mighty God
Isaiah 9:6 (ESV) 6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
And being called a Lord
Psalm 110:1 (ESV) 1 The Lord says to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.”
The lord is our righteousness in
Jeremiah 23:6 (ESV) 6 In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely. And this is the name by which he will be called: ‘The Lord is our righteousness.’
Now in the new testament it will authors of the books(the saints) also speaks of Jesus being active in the old testament
1 Corinthians 10:4 (ESV) 4 and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual Rock that followed them, and the Rock was Christ.
1 Corinthians 10:9 (ESV) 9 We must not put Christ to the test, as some of them did and were destroyed by serpents,
Hebrews 1:2–3 (ESV) 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. 3 He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power.
Hebrews 1:8–10 (ESV)
8 But of the Son he says,
“Your throne, O God, is forever and ever,
the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom.
9 You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness;
therefore God, your God, has anointed you
with the oil of gladness beyond your companions.”
Jude 5 (ESV) 5 Now I want to remind you, although you once fully knew it, that Jesus, who saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.
Moreover the new testament authors applied the Divine יהוה (YHWH) to Jesus.
Hebrews 1:10 (ESV) 10 And,
“You, Lord, laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning,
and the heavens are the work of your hands;
(Citing the passage in Psalm 102:25-27)
Psalm 102:25–27 (ESV) 25 Of old you laid the foundation of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of your hands.
26 They will perish, but you will remain;
they will all wear out like a garment.
You will change them like a robe, and they will pass away,
27 but you are the same, and your years
Now this is really confusing since Israel's belief in One God was firmly grounded in the introductory words of shema thw Hebrew confession that includes the central tenents of faith (Deuteronomy 6:4 (ESV) 4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.) in the first century, the early churches belief in one God separates them form the polytheistic practice of the Greco-Roman pantheon (made up of Many gods like Zeus Athena hades etc)
Now to explain further and for deeper knowledge when the Apostle Paul wrote to the Corinthians, he was writing in Greek-speaking people who had to come out of Greco-roman Culture. The scripture the Corinthians with was The greek translation of the old statement(image 2) Septuagint,LXX in 1 Corinthians 8, The Apostle Paul rejects the many " gods" and "lords" of Greco-Roman Culture
1 Corinthians 8:4–5 (ESV) 4 Therefore, as to the eating of food offered to idols, we know that “an idol has no real existence,” and that “there is no God but one.” 5 For although there may be so-called gods in heaven or on earth—as indeed there are many “gods” and many “lords”—
In reference with
Deuteronomy 10:17 (ESV) 17 For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who is not partial and takes no bribe.
When Apostle Paul refers to the Father, he uses the Greek word θεὸς (theos), which in hebrew translation אֱלֹהֵינוּ (ʾĕlōhênû), but he refers to Jesus he husses the Greek word κύριος (kyrios), which in hebrew translate to the word יהוה (YHWH). Look at image 3 (side by side interleniar 1 Corinthians 8:4-5 and Deuteronomy 10:17)
We all know that Apostle Paul is a Jew he clearly believeed in the Shema,
For people who doesn't know shema it's Shema Yisrael, or the Shema, is the central affirmation of Judaism. The prayer expresses belief in the "singularity" of God, that is, in God's oneness and incomparability. It is traditionally recited twice a day, as part of the morning (Shacharit) and evening (Arvit or Ma'ariv) services.
But because of the incarnation which you can read here
Philippians 2:5–8 (ESV) 5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being …
He is also believe that Jesus shared the identity of YHWH (יהוה), The God of Israel. Paul was a monotheist But it ended because of the incarnation that led us to believe and know that Apostle Paul is a trinitarian not only by his writings, words that he used but also in his theology
1 Corinthians 12:4–6 (ESV) 4 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; 5 and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; 6 and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone.
Ephesians 2:18 (ESV) 18 For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father.
Ephesians 4:4–6 (ESV) 4 There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
Heres another Verse that they also use to disprove the deity of Christ but also the Trinitarian doctrine, and have the Confidence that they're correct in their theology while contradicting the very foundation of Christianity as we know it today.
John 20:17 (ESV) 17 Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’ ”
In this verse INC ministers and members will say "KiTa Mo sA TalATa? na aNg AmA LAng anG dIyoS at HindI si Christo?" And continue to add that even Jesus himself consider him as a God and he even called him greater than I in John 14:28 now how does this Verse contradict the Bible
Well first and foremost it contradics the very first chapter and of the Gospel of Apostle John that Jesus is God in
John 1:1 (ESV) 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
‭John 1:14 NIV‬ [14] The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 1:18 (ESV) 18 No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father’s side, he has made him known.
John 12:41 (ESV) 41 Isaiah said these things because he saw his glory and spoke of him.
This will also contradict Jesus several claims to his own deity
John 5:17–18 (ESV) 17 But Jesus answered them, “My Father is working until now, and I am working.”
18 This was why the Jews were seeking all the more to kill him, because not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself
John 5:23 (ESV) 23 that all may honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.
John 8:58 (ESV) 58 Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.”
John 10:28–30 (ESV) 28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.”
Second it also ignores the fact(Which are the only thing that these heretics are good at) that the Son(Jesus) eternally existed on which you can see on
John 1:1 (ESV) 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 8:58 (ESV) 58 Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.”
John 17:5 (ESV) 5 And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed.
And also became flesh(human) and dwelt among us in
John 1:14 (ESV)
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
In Jesus incarnate role as a sinless man
1 John 3:5 (ESV) 5 You know that he appeared in order to take away sins, and in him there is no sin.
Because the Father was functionally(because the Father stayed in heaven and he Jesus became a servant)
John 14:28 (ESV) 28 You heard me say to you, ‘I am going away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.
Hence making the Father greater than him in rank and status not in essence(being God) therefore he would humbly acknowledge the Father as his God, because of his incarnation, Jesus can refer to the Father as “my God.”
They could also use Acts 2:22-36 where Apostle Peter Consider Jesus being a man attested by God
Acts 2:22–36 (ESV) 22 “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know— 23 this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men. 24 God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it. 25 For David says concerning him,
“ ‘I saw the Lord always before me,
for he is at my right hand that I may not be shaken;
26 therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced;
my flesh also will dwell in hope.
27 For you will not abandon my soul to Hades,
or let your Holy One see corruption.
28 You have made known to me the paths of life;
you will make me full of gladness with your presence.’
29 “Brothers, I may say to you with confidence about the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and whis tomb is with us to this day. 30 Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne, 31 he foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. 32 This Jesus God raised up, band of that we all are witnesses. 33 Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing. 34 For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says,
i“ ‘The Lord said to my Lord,
“Sit at my right hand,
35 until I make your enemies your footstool.” ’
36 Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”
Yes Apostle Peter did Believe that Jesus was a Man attested by God,But that is not all the believed about Jesus. In the book of Acts ,Jesus has ascended to the right hand of The Father, Now Inc ministers might/will say(KiTa NyO Kahit Si aPosTle PeTer AlAm nA TaO si Jesus At HinDi DiYos)
Well lets see on the book of Acts if the books of Acts will agree or disagree with what
Acts 2:33 (ESV) 33 Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing.
Acts 5:31 (ESV) 31 God exalted him at his right hand as Leader and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins
(How can a "human" as you say forgive sins if he is not God/ Diety?)
Acts 7:55–56 (ESV) 55 But he, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. 56 And he said, “Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.”
(How can a man be at the right side(literally not lower as you imagine) or on the same level of the The Father if he is not God?
A Role in which he us Active and Not Passive Show by answering the prayers of Peter to heal,
Acts 3:6 (ESV) 6 But Peter said, “I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!”
Acts 4:10 (ESV) 10 let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by him this man is standing before you well.
Acts 9:3–6 (ESV) 3 Now as he went on his way, he approached Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven shone around him. 4 And falling to the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?” 5 And he said, “Who are you, Lord?” And he said, “I am Jesus, whom you
Acts 9:34 (ESV) 34 And Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you; rise and make your bed.” And immediately he rose.
in his sermon on the day of pentecost,Peter then links calling on the name of the "Lord" to save that only a The Father can do according to these heretics.
Acts 2:21 (ESV) 21 And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’
This is in reference in the book of Joel
Joel 2:32 (ESV) 32 And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be those who escape, as the Lord has said, and among the survivors shall be those whom the Lord calls.
To calling on the name on the name of Jesus
Acts 2:36–39 ESV
36 Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”
37 Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” 38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.”
Reference on
Acts 7:59 (ESV) 59 And as they were stoning Stephen, he called out, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.”
But peter is not done yet because he Further speaks of Jesus as pouring out the holy spirit which also a Contradiction to INC that God The Father is the only one who can do this
Acts 2:33 (ESV) 33 Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing.
Acts 2:17–18 (ESV) 17 “ ‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares,
that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh,
and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
and your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams;
18 even on my male servants and female servants
in.,
Peter also called Jesus the Author of life
Acts 3:15 (ESV) 15 and you killed the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead. To this we are witnesses.
Which also a Contradiction to INC teachings that God the Father is the only one that can create life but Peter is not done yet he also stated that Jesus is the only name for salvation in
Acts 4:12 (ESV) 12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
As a Savior
Acts 5:31 (ESV) 31 God exalted him at his right hand as Leader and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.
Citing Acts 13:23 (ESV) 23 Of this man’s offspring God has brought to Israel a Savior, Jesus, as he promised.
And also the Judge of of the Living and the dead
Acts 10:42 (ESV) 42 And he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one appointed by God to be judge of the living and the dead.
And lastly "Lord of all"
Acts 10:36 (ESV) 36 As for the word that he sent to Israel, preaching good news of peace through Jesus Christ (he is Lord of all).
None of these things could be said of someone who is just a human because that will go againts their shema as Jews. If you don't know what it is
Shema Yisrael, or the Shema, is the central affirmation of Judaism. The prayer expresses belief in the singularity of God, that is, in God's oneness and incomparability. It is traditionally recited twice a day, as part of the morning (Shacharit) and evening (Arvit or Ma'ariv) services.
Now to further examine Apostle Paul's writings and beliefs let's dig deeper in
1 Peter 3:15 (ESV) 15 but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,
Citing
Isaiah 8:13 (ESV) 13 But the Lord of hosts, him you shall honor as holy. Let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.
Most of the time in rhe LXX the covenant name for God is (יהוה) is translated as kyrios(Lord), The term "Lord" in the LXX of Isaiah 8:13(above) refers directly to the "Lord of hosts" Peter use the LXX, he inserts"Christ "(messiah), asserting that we should honor him as Lord in second Epistle Peter also clearly calls Jesus "God:""the righteousness of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ" in
2 Peter 1:1 (ESV) 1 Simeon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ,
To those who have obtained a faith of equal standing with ours by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:
Citing
2 Peter 1:11 (ESV) 11 For in this way there will be richly provided for you an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
2 Peter 2:20 20 For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first.
2 Peter 3:18 (ESV) 18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
Moreover, when Peter confronted Ananias about his sin this is what he said "Why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy spirit You have not lied to man But to God"
Why is it that you
So meaning to say, To lie to the Holy spirit was to Lie to God. in the book of Acts, th Holy Spirit is not a force but a Person Who not only Can be lied to, But also fills, sends, and speak to people
Here speaks
Acts 4:8 (ESV) 8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers of the people and elders,
Acts 13:2 (ESV) 2 While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”
Acts 21:11 (ESV) 11 And coming to us, he took Paul’s belt and bound his own feet and hands and said, “Thus says the Holy Spirit, ‘This is how the Jews at Jerusalem will bind the man who owns this belt and deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.’ ”
Acts 28:25 (ESV) 25 And disagreeing among themselves, they departed after Paul had made one statement: “The Holy Spirit was right in saying to your fathers through Isaiah the prophet:
Here sends
Acts 13:4 (ESV) 4 So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia, and from there they sailed to Cyprus.
And lied as shown in Acts 5:3-4 so like Paul we can say that Peter was also a Trinitarian in his theology
Now onto the other verse that INC uses to contradict the Deity of Christ and also The Trinitarian belief which is
1 Timothy 2:4–5 (ESV) 4 who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
They might say
"KeTah NyO? lEtrA Por LetRa naG lInE uP ang ExpLaNaTioN at ThEoLoGy naMin Na Isa Lang AnG Diyos!!(Screams in abuloy)"
The contradictions that this gives is, the belief of those who hold the Deity of Jesus also lines up with what the Apostles Paul teaches but again we realize and read Paul said more about the identity of Jesus, The reason why Apostle Paul refers to Christ as a man is because a mediator is a representative between two parties explained in Hebrews 9:15
Hebrews 9:15 (ESV) 15 Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.
This is not a denial of Jesus divinity but an acknowledgement of his incarnation In 1 Timothy 3:16
1 Timothy 3:16 (ESV) 16 Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness:
He was manifested in the flesh,
vindicated by the Spirit,
seen by angels,
proclaimed among the nations,
believed on in the world,
taken up in glory.
In other passage, Paul calls Jesus as our great God and Saviour in Titus 2:13 citing Titus 2:14
Titus 2:13 (ESV) 13 waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,
Titus 2:14 (ESV) 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.
To add Paul also describes the Corinthians as those who “call upon [epikaloumenois] the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” we can see it in 1 Corinthians 1:2 citing Acts 2:21
1 Corinthians 1:2 (ESV) 2 To the church of God that is in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints together with all those who in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both their Lord and ours:
Acts 2:21 (ESV) 21 And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’
In the Ild testament "called on" the nema of the Lord(יהוה) is in Joel 2:32
Joel 2:32 (ESV) 32 And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be those who escape, as the Lord has said, and among the survivors shall be those whom the Lord calls.
the Corinthians were people who addressed Jesus as Lord in prayer
John 14:14 (ESV) 14 If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.
This was not just something the Corinthians dud as Paul also directs his prayers to Jesus in both 1 Thessalonians 3:13 (ESV) 13 so that he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.
And also on 2 Thessalonians 3:5 (ESV) 5 May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ.
And To Jesus and the Father 1 Thessalonians 3:11 (ESV) 11 Now may our God and Father himself, and our Lord Jesus, direct our way to you,
2 Thessalonians 2:16–17 (ESV) 16 Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, 17 comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word.
In 1 Corinthians 2:8, 1 Corinthians 2:8 (ESV) 8 None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
Concerning God's wisdom,Paul states, "none of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had they would not have crucified the Lord of glory". Paul describes Jesus as "the Lord of glory" this is in reference to James 2:1 and Psalm 24:7-8.
James 2:1 (ESV) 2 My brothers, show no partiality as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory.
Psalm 24:7–8 (ESV) 7 Lift up your heads, O gates!
And be lifted up, O ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
8 Who is this King of glory?
The Lord, strong and mighty,
the Lord, mighty in battle!
Question to the Whole INC what man could be described in this way? it would be blasphemous to call anyone the Lord of glory unless they were devine.
Now next question Did jesus Become a man? Now because these INC ministers and Their followers operates from Governing assumptions (that God is one Person the Father) that keeps them from arriving at a right conclusion (the Diety of Jesus)), they often engages in fallacious reasoning,
For example
Now common mistakes that these heretics might say if you use John 1:1-14 to prove the divinity of Christ they might tapdance and say "Oh NAsaN aNg TriniTy jAn? Wala NaMan Eh KahIt SaN Mo HaNapIn Yung Trinity Sa Gospel Of JhOn Wala KanG mAHaHanap Letra por LeTra Pero Iglesia Ni CriStO meron, ISa Pa YunG WoRd nA Theos iS Just Your Hebrew Opion(citing Joe Vintilador)".
This simply a stupid and misinterpretation of what Trinitarian believe; Trinitarians don't teach that John1:1 or John 1:14 by themselves teach the Trinity. moreover, Trinitarians don not argue that the word Theos (God) means Trinity. However, the term Theos is used of Jesus in John 20:28
John 20:28 (ESV) 28 Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!”
And the holy spirit in
Acts 5:4 (ESV) 4 While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not at your disposal? Why is it that you have contrived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to man but to God.”
Rather than explicitly teaching the Trinity John 1:1 and John 1:14 supports the doctrine of the Trinity as they teach the Eternal Son of God(Jesus) took on Flesh (humanity/became human) and dwelt among us.
Now to prove that Jesus pre exist and in his prayer in John 17:3-5, Jesus both refer to his Pre-existance and uses terminology that can only be used about deity
John 17:3–5 (ESV) 3 And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. 4 I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do. 5 And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you
However just as with other clear passages in the New Testament that Jesus speak to Jesus' Diety these heretics tries to find a way to get around this using ‭
John 17:3 NIV‬ [3] Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
They'll say "KeTah Nyo Si Jesus Nga NaNiwAla Na Isa LanG aNg DiYos At yun Ay aNg Ama"
What these heretics fails to highlight or understand(which hirap na hirap sila) is according to Jesus,to have Eternally lofe is to know two persons both the Father and The Son(Jesus) in John 14:6-7 and 16:3
John 14:6–7 (ESV) 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”
John 16:3 (ESV) 3 And they will do these things because they have not known the Father, nor me
Now same as Jewish monotheism (unlike unitarianism) could contain the idea that the Messiah was Devine as (stated in this post above) and that together with the creator give life you can see it in John 5:25-26
John 5:25–26 (ESV) 25 “Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live. 26 For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself.
This is why Apostle John could also say that God's son, Jesus Christ is "the true God and eternal life 1 John 5:20
1 John 5:20 (ESV) 20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
But still otice In John 17:5conversation Jesus is speaking of that glory he shared with the Father before the world existed The words "before the world existed" Shows that Jesus sonship did not begin at his baptism or resurrection (as other unitarian believe) but is an eternal sonship
John 1:1 (ESV) 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
So in therefore John 17:3-5 is an example of a divine, yet incarnate that you can see in John 1:14
John 1:14 (ESV) 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
That the Person, The Son communicating with a divine but non-incarnate Person the Father in heaven.
Now did Thomas call Jesus God?
In John 20:28 Thomas famously answers the risen Jesus," My lord and my God! "(ho kyrios mou kai ho theos mou). Thomas Statement is from the Old testament in Psalm 35:23, Psalm 99:8 and 106:47
Psalm 35:23 (ESV) 23 Awake and rouse yourself for my vindication,
for my cause, my God and my Lord!
Psalm 99:8 (ESV) 8 O Lord our God, you answered them;
you were a forgiving God to them,
but an avenger of their wrongdoings.
Psalm 106:47 (ESV) 47 Save us, LORD our God, and gather us from the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in your praise.
In response to this verse INC heretics might say "Eh YunG mGa TrInItaRiaN IsinAsAntAbi Na YuNg AmA Ang BumUhaY kaY Hesus eh Yada yada yada uhuh Ahah"
Since they don't want to accept it theyll make something up and twist the bible but still its Gods words he'll protect it the assumptions that they make will back fire and also strange to say that Trinitarians fail to acknowledge the Father raised Jesus from the dead when its not even a part of the surrounding context in John 20:28.
All Trinitarians believe the Father raised jesus from the dead
Galatians 1:1 (ESV) 1 Paul, an apostle—not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead—
But we also recognize that Jesus He would raise himself from the Dead and sinxe Jesus is a sinless man he can't and will not lie correct?
John 2:19–22 (ESV) 19 Jesus answered them, z“Destroy this temple, and in three days aI will raise it up.” 20 The Jews then said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple,3 and will you raise it up in three days?” 21 But he was speaking about bthe temple of his body. 22 When therefore he was raised from the dead, chis disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed dthe Scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken.
And That the Holy spirit was also involved / Raised him from the dead
Romans 8:11 (ESV) 11 If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
The resurrection of Jesus involved all Three members/persons of the Trinity.
The problem about the interpretations and theology of ministers who stumbled on John 20:28 is that Both nouns- Lord (kyrios) and God (theos)—are in the nominative case and are addressed to Jesus here on
Revelation 4:11 (ESV) 11 “Worthy are you, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they existed and were created.”
Infact Thomas's confession is directed to one Person, Jesus, If jesus was not Devine then Thomas made a serious error but Jeuss made no effort to correct Thomas in his worship yet Peter in Acts 10:25–26
Acts 10:25–26 (ESV) 25 When Peter entered, Cornelius met him and fell down at his feet and worshiped him. 26 But Peter lifted him up, saying, “Stand up; I too am a man.”
And also Paul in acts 14:14-15
Acts 14:14–15 (ESV)
14 But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of it, they tore their garments and rushed out into the crowd, crying out, 15 “Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men, of like nature with you, and we bring you good news, that you should turn from these vain things to a living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all that is in them.
And the Angel in Revelation in Revelation 22:8–9
Revelation 22:8–9 (ESV) 8 I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed them to me, 9 but he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers the prophets, and with those
All corrected others for trying to worship them, clearly demonstrating that Worship belongs to God only. the confession of deity here is unmistakable because Jesus accepted Thomas' worship of him in John 20:28
John 20:29 (ESV) 29 Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
Whats more in the book of Revelation, the elders every creature in heaven and upon the earth ascribe universal worship you can read is in Revelation 5:11-14
Revelation 5:11–14 (ESV) 11 Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, 12 saying with a loud voice,
“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and
This is a reference to John1:29
John 1:29 (ESV) 29 The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
INC may claim the bible as their authority proudly screaming "we follow the bible" but Reject and distort anything in the bible that they cannot comprehend or go against their Doctrine since it'll go against their heretic view and Faulty doctrine from a GUY who didn't have enough sleep and starving(literally)for validation how does it feel for the very "authority" that you use doesn't agree with you even a single time?
INC objections to the Diety of Jesus is nothing new and are based on Misunderstanding of the nature of God( that God is one person) and taking verse out of context(Which is the only thing they're good and also taking money) INC unitarianism is a rationalistic approach (placing their human reasoning na sira sira since kulang sa sleep) above revelation to the text of the bible they may claim the bible as their authority and say " NaNiNiwAlA Ako Sa BibLe" but they still Reject it.
It is not the text of the Bible that determines UNITARIAN THEOLOGY but what they THINK is POSSIBLE. The Apostle Paul warned the Corinthians about accepting a Jesus that is different from the Jesus proclaimed by the apostles in 2 Corinthians 11:4
2 Corinthians 11:4 (ESV) 4 For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it readily enough.
Question can you still consider yourself TRUE and BIBLICAL if the very authority that you use to remove the Diety for Jesus doesn't agree with you and refuse your own theology and doctrine?
What will the answer be sir?u/James_Readme
Thankyou for reading a super long post about Unitarian beliefs may peace be upon you and your families.

2024.04.19 21:12 Independent_Tax8686 Non dom change to domiciled?

Cyprus law defines that one can become domiciled tax resident by:
Isn't this a huge risk for everyone on non dom status as the tax authorities can decide anytime that one is actually domiciled for example due to renting a long term apartment?

2024.04.18 19:41 SmellySchnitzel Eurovision watch party: Top 37 (ranking)

I’ve seen quite a few tops posted on the sub and I wanted to add my contribution no one asked for! But I did it in a different way: as per tradition since last year, I torture… I mean, convince three of my friends who are not Eurofans to listen with me to all 37 songs. Afterwards, we rank them and have a big reveal, from bottom to top.
Last year, our average winner was Austria with “Who the Hell is Edgar?”. A banger indeed, which won by a short margin against the runner up Czechia with “My Sister’s Crown”. Will the top two stay the same? Let’s find out.
To make it easier and not write a whole wall of text (challenge: impossible) for every entry, everything will be summarized with the two most divergent opinions (well, most of the time). Jurors (aka, me, and my victims friends) will be named A, B, C and D because as you can tell, I am hella inspired and creative. Right? Right. The talks are actually conversations we’ve had in the night, as faithfully transcribed as I could (don't blame me if some are short, my memory isn't the best). Alright, let’s proceed:
37. Germany (Isaak – Always on the Run)
(A: 34 – B: 33 – C: 29 – D: 37)
Juror C: “Meh. It’s not bad and this guy has a good voice, but I’d be shocked if it did well at Eurovision. There’s definitely worse than that but it’s just not very impressive”.
Juror D: “I really don’t like this. Why do you even send something so impersonal and unoriginal to a song contest? I literally forgot about it during the listening session. Hard pass Germany”.
36. Azerbaijan (Fahree feat. Ilkin Dovlatov - Özünlə Apar)
(A: 29 – B: 36 – C: 34 – D: 33)
Juror A: “I really thought I’d actually like this when listening to the first verse. I have three standout points: Fahree’s beautiful vocals, the string section, and the build up to the first chorus. But once we get there, nothing really progresses, and it just doesn’t stick at all. I get what they are trying to do. I can appreciate the atmosphere, but it really misses something. The beat feels out of place, and Ilkin’s addition rather forced and artificial. I think I put my finger on it: it lacks a sense of authenticity. There’s promise though. I’ll wait and see for the staging.”
Juror B: “If the song I ranked last wasn’t so boring, this would be last. It’s just so flat as a whole and feels really emotionless and artificial. That’s a skip guys!”
35. Israel (Eden Golan – Hurricane)
(A: 32 – B: 37 – C: 30 – D: 29)
Juror D: “Yeah, it’s fine, but nothing special. It’s like some of these ballads you hear every year at Eurovision but that you forget rather easily. I like the singer, she has an Ariana Grande vibe and a powerful voice, but there’s no emotion in what she sings. If it was all in Hebrew, maybe it would stand out more.”
Juror B: “Ballad.exe, do I need to say more? I’m not a fan of her voice, I find the lyrics really poorly written and the song super predictable. I didn’t like Estonia last year, but even Estonia felt much better than this.”
34. Sweden (Marcus & Martinus – Unforgettable)
(A: 25 – B: 32 – C: 35 – D: 35)
Juror A: “Honestly? The instrumental really slaps, and I love the staging. These guys are pros, there’s no denying that and their voices complement each other well. But as catchy as it is, the song has a hard time sticking with me. The most memorable part to me is how bad the lyrics actually are, and that’s not a good sign. I swear I wish I’d rank Sweden higher; I liked them a lot in 2022 and 2023 but this time, I’m not so convinced. It’s not really a skip, but it’s not a song I’d go out of my way to listen to. But it’s definitely not bad!”
Juror D: “It’s just ironic that a song called Unforgettable is actually so forgettable. I didn’t like the vocals and their boy’s band’s vibe, I didn’t care for the staging and I hated the lyrics too. It just feels manufactured for Eurovision and that’s about it. And ending it on a bridge? No thank you.”
33. Latvia (Dons – Hollow)
(A: 27 – B: 31 – C: 36 – D: 32)
Juror A: “I thought it’d go lower, but I actually quite like the verses. There’s a depth in Dons’s voice that doesn’t leave me indifferent, and this guy really carries this song on his shoulders. Seriously, give that man a song that would make his voice shine even more! I just wish he was a better performer. As it stands out, he is a fantastic singer, but the emotion doesn’t translate all too well on stage. But we’re rating studio cuts, so 27th feels high enough. I’m let down by the chorus, but I’m sure there’s an audience for it. Might not be so DOA.”
Juror C: “The only thing I remember about this is the dude being bald. Oh, and yeah, he sings well, but I really don’t care about this song, it’s really flat and boring. Doesn’t stand much of a chance tbh.”
32. Iceland (Hera Björk – Scared of Heights)
(A: 37 – B: 22 – C: 32 – D: 26)
Juror A: “There’s two songs I find unlistenable this year. This is one of them, and my actual dead last place. Hera seems very sweet, and I enjoyed “Je Ne Sais Quoi” quite a bit, but I just have a hard time sitting through the whole three minutes of this without feeling annoyed. I hate how dated the whole sound is, Hera’s voice enhances that feeling of annoyance for some reason I don’t quite get, I really can’t stand the chorus and I can’t stand these synths. Even in 2003, this would have been extremely outdated. Iceland, you had Blankiflúr and Bashar Murad right there.”
Juror B: “Don’t hate me but I quite like this. Hera gives fun wine mom vibes you’d go to the karaoke with and yes it’s dated but we need at least once song like that at Eurovision. It reminds me of the 2000s! It’s just a fun song that won’t do anything in the contest, but you enjoy it when it’s on!”
31. Albania (Besa Kokëdhima – Titan)
(A: 35 – B: 35 – C: 18 – D: 27)
Juror B: “I’m not feeling this, this is just really boring. I don’t get why it’s in English? I prefer Albania’s entries in their native language, it really doesn’t feel special or even Albanian. The production is super cheap too. Her voice is not bad but it’s not enough to be memorable. It’s a skip for me!”
Juror C: “To me all the pop girls feel a little bit the same, but this is one of the best ones, mostly because of the singing. I’m not sure I have much to say, it’s kinda enjoyable and I didn’t really care that it’s in English, I think this is better than the original version you sent me a few weeks ago actually. But it’s not something I’d listen to by myself.”
30. Finland (Windows95man – No Rules!)
(A: 36 – B: 21 – C: 26 – D: 31)
Juror B: “Look, I don’t care that the vocals are not great for this kind of performance. Yes that’s trashy but we need songs like these in the contest! It’s trash but it’s MY trashy moment. I like them, don’t be mad at me.”
Juror A: “I don’t know how to tell you how much I can’t stand this entry, sorry friends. Look, I know some of you three liked “Give that Wolf a Banana”, but I couldn’t stand this song and this one makes me cringe just as much. Seriously, I just can’t with songs that rely on the “haha funny” vibe and are just gimmicky without substance to it. I get it’s an okay song if you like that humour but that kind of peak hetero fratboy humour is not my cup of tea. If Iceland didn’t pick that song, this would be my dead last and one of my most disliked entry of the decade.”
29. Cyprus (Silia Kapsis – Liar)
(A: 33 – B: 34 – C: 23 – D: 23)
Juror D: “It’s cute and catchy, it’s giving summer, I like the dancing and I think this will be better with the performance but it’s not super memorable you know? And the “Liar Liar yeah yeah yeah” part is a bit annoying”.
Juror B: “I’m tired of these songs that try to go for the “SloMo” or “Fuego” vibe but that are just bad copycats. Nothing against the girl, she’s great, it’s just the song that’s boring to be honest.”
28. Australia (Electric Fields – One Milkali)
(A: 28 – B: 24 – C: 24 – D: 36)
Juror C: “It really feels like an embrace. It’s comfy and dreamy and I love the ethnic elements, even though I wish they used them a lot more. The message is great and it’s a well-written pop song but it’s somehow a little forgettable. I like listening to it, but it lacks replayability and memorability. But it’s still a good song, if it had more punch and drive, I’d rank it higher for sure. Maybe live?”
Juror D: “I’m not with you three, I just think it’s super boring and just feels like one of these bland and generic songs only made for ESC. I don’t think anything exciting with this one. I don’t tune in and watch Eurovision for songs like these. Skip.”
27. Poland (Luna – The Tower)
(A: 30 – B: 28 – C: 31 – D: 21)
Juror D: “I like this, it’s a fine track, and I love her looks. Honestly, she’s serving visuals (juror D was really adamant about the way she played chess in the video though) and I wish the song would match them more. It’s more appealing to watch than to listen to, but it’s still a good package and she has a cute voice. I don’t think I’ll add this to my playlist but I didn’t mind it. Is it better than Bejba though? (ETA; yes, they know about the whole drama, trust me, I traumatize these three with Eurovision more than I should).”
Juror C: “It’s… fine. Just fine. Not great. It’s not super catchy but it’s not completely unremarkable either. It’s just there. Not the worst, not the best. That’s how much I have to say about it.”
26. Georgia (Nutsa Buzaladze – Firefighter)
(A: 15 – B: 30 – C: 22 – D: 24)
Juror A: “This and Spain are by far my biggest growers this year honestly. I had her around you guys’ ranking at first but the more I listened to this song, the more I was into it. I honestly enjoy the song structure being more playful than the other pop songs we have this year, I’m glad it goes away from your usual verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus to take us somewhere else at every turn. And can we talk about these backing vocals that perfectly complement Nutsa? Can we talk about how amazing these strings are? Why the hell am I praising this song so much? And as we all agree, she is a fantastic singer. She just makes me believe anything she says, even though the lyrics are nothing to write home about let’s not kid ourselves. But here I am defending that one pop song and going on a rant.”
Juror B: “I wish I could share your enthusiasm because I love her voice and honestly, she does serve. I want to like it more because I love her, but I just find the song super impersonal and boring. I wish she had a song with more going on but it’s just a typical pop song in English. Sorryyyyy!”
25. Malta (Sarah Bonnici – Loop)
(A: 31 – B: 29 – C: 20 – D: 9)
Juror D: “I love this. It’s giving SloMo, not as iconic because SloMo was one of the best songs at Eurovision, but we need a song like this at Eurovision, and she is really good! I really enjoy the visuals, the choreo is going to stand out, she is charismatic and she’s giving everything that I wanted from a song like this. This is absolutely qualifying. The pop girly slaying the most!”
Juror A: “Yeah but it’s not SloMo, it’s SloNo (ETA; I had to just to see D gasp. It was worth it. Don’t hate me Malta fans!). No but I agree with you, Sarah is great and the choreo is on point. But where’s the song in this? It’s like a 3-minute-long dance routine that only serves to show off her moves. I’m not convinced but I can tell you, she is great live, she could qualify.”
24. Luxembourg (Tali – Fighter)
(A: 26 – B: 26 – C: 21 – D: 15)
Juror D: “It’s cute, I like that! It’s not groundbreaking but it’s a good pop song with a catchy chorus and she sings well. I like that it’s in French, it adds a little bit of personality. It’s a good return after being out of the contest for so long. She’ll probably qualify, right?” I then confirmed that this was closing the first semifinal
Juror B: “I don’t know, it’s just okay to me. At least it’s in French but when you are away for so long, I expect something better than this. It’s in French so that’s nice but it’s just there honestly.”
23. Denmark (Saba – Sand)
(A: 19 – B: 25 – C: 19 – D: 18)
Juror D: “I love her more than I like the song. She has one of my favourite voices so far. I just think the song is a little generic. But it’s catchy and at least you remember the “SAAAND” parts. But if you give this song to a worse performer, it wouldn’t hold its own at all. She makes it shine, not the opposite. You know… we could’ve had something better for her.”
Juror B: “I agree, I like her a lot but the song is very unremarkable. I just think the chorus is okay but I don’t see it qualifying unless she gives the best performance on the night.”
22. United Kingdom (Olly Alexander – Dizzy)
(A: 23 – B: 23 – C: 28 – D: 6)
Juror D: “I love Years & Years. You know, songs like “King”? This is in the same vein, and I couldn’t ask for more. It’s super catchy, I love the vibe the song has, I love his voice and Olly is gonna be even better live. This is the song that sounds the most like what I have in my playlist, and I’ll listen to it a lot. Thanks for that, it’s so good!”
Juror C: “I expected more, I guess. Right now it’s just an okay pop song without much going on, and it’s quite repetitive overall. There’s nothing baaaad with, obviously it’s very professional but it’s just kind of boring?”
21. San Marino (Megara – 11:11)
(A: 24 – B: 27 – C: 13 – D: 14)
Juror C: “Metal for Eurovision is usually kind of cringe, but I liked Germany last year and I like San Marino too. It’s nothing groundbreaking but the guitar work is fine, the bass is fine, the vocal delivery is good, the bridge is a good addition and it’s catchy. I’m okay with this.”
Juror B: “I find their vibe a little cringe and trying to hard to be funny to be honest. I don’t like the pink and black visuals and the vocals are not amaaaazing. It’s just okay but I expect more from metal songs. Meh.”
20. Moldova (Natalia Barbu – In the Middle)
(A: 22 – B: 20 – C: 16 – D: 20)
Juror C: “Look, it’s not a masterpiece but it’s really overhated (ETA; I told them it’s last in the overall scoreboard ranking). The chorus is nice, it’s a vibe and really pleasant, I really like the violins and she sing it well enough for what it is. It’s not a Eurovision winner but it’s a cool song. Just needs a little something more to be a great song, I guess. But I like this.”
Juror A: “I don’t have much else to add. It’s 22nd because it’s a strong year to me and there are a lot of songs I love, but this one is nice. I like the visuals in the live performance, I really think Natalia is a great singer and the violins and the drums are a great touch to the package. I agree it’s overhated amongst Eurofans, it’s just a little unimpressive and I fear it’s going to get lost.”
19. Lithuania (Silvester Belt – Luktelk)
(A: 18 – B: 6 – C: 34 – D: 12)
Juror C: “Yeah look, this is just bad in my opinion. I can’t stand these lifeless vocals, this guy has no conviction when he sings, it’s just so boring. Even the song is boring, it’s just a basic club song with an unremarkable hook. Next.”
Juror B: “I love it so much, it’s such a banger. I love that it’s in Lithuanian, I love how catchy it is, the verses go hard, the chorus is memorable, and his vocals are really good for the song. It’s such a vibe. I’m vibing hard! Goes right into my playlist” (she then proceeded to sing “Luktelk, Luktelk” a fair bit.)
18. Ireland (Bambie Thug – Doomsday Blue)
(A: 13 – B: 10 – C: 12 – D: 33)
Judge D: “It’s trying too hard to be edgy but it’s just common and frankly unimpressive. Like sure they try to be different, but they could do it well at least. It’s kinda boring and the chorus is very cliché.”
Judge C: “Look, I fully expected to cringe very hard at this because of the aesthetic, and I still don’t like their live aesthetic, but I really like this track. I love their play on dissonance, it’s something very bold for Eurovision. I’m a bit concerned about the heavy vocal effects on their voice. It works really well right there, but it could completely fall apart live and make it move down my rankings a lot if it’s not done the right way. I’m not 100% sold on the chorus either but I actually like this overall. It’s not your typical Eurovision song.”
17. Austria (Kaleen – We Will Rave)
(A: 21 – B: 17 – C: 15 – D: 11)
Judge A: “Look, I would enjoy it a lot more if the retro feel had more of an effect on me. But I never really cared about the type of music this song tries to make you feel nostalgic of, so I never fully get into it. Still, it’s a fun little song that is genuinely catchy and will work with great choreo. My main issue with the track is the length. The last third of the song feels like it’s almost forced to be there to fill up some space and drags it down, I’m not raving after 2 minutes and 15 seconds. If it was shorter, it would have been the perfect dose of fun and probably higher in my ranking. As it stands, 21st feels high enough.”
Judge D: “So, this is a serve. It’s giving Cascada, it’s giving 2000s techno, and I would have liked it even more in German. But this is probably the catchiest song this year, it’s super fun and it’s definitely gonna be giving on stage. I really like this.”
16. Norway (Gåte – Ulveham)
(A: 2 – B: 19 – C: 14 – D: 28)
Judge A: “To me, this is absolutely breath taking and would be an easy number 1 if it wasn’t for that one song I love even more. I was rooting so hard for this song to win MGP, you guys have no idea. I absolutely love the singing and the vocal technique, especially during the chorus where she hits HARD. The visuals are stunning, the guitar work is fantastic, and the Norwegian language is really beautiful to listen to. This is exactly the kind of song I want to see at Eurovision, and I wasn’t disappointed. I especially didn’t expect that from Norway since they’re usually not on top of my rankings. I love everything about this.”
Judge B: “So, I wish I could share your enthusiasm and like it as much as you do but the whole song is not really working for me. I like the chorus a lot and I like her a lot, but the verses are really flat and feel disconnected from the rest of the song. It builds up an atmosphere but then the verses put me out of it immediately. I’m frustrated because I should love it, it has rock, folk, native language, traditional singing but I’m not feeling it all too much because of the verses.”
15. France (Slimane – Mon Amour)
(A: 20 – B: 3 – C: 17 – D: 22)
Juror B: “I didn’t expect to like it. I really didn’t. But it’s so good and I actually cried listening to it. His voice is amazing and I just felt all the emotions he was singing about during the whole song. This is by far the best ballad and I hope it does really well with the juries. Why is France on a roll at Eurovision? La Zarra was iconic and this is amazing.”
Juror A: “I guess it’s my turn to be my country’s harshest critic as always. I really want to love this, and it did climb a little in my ranking, but it just feels like a vocal showcase to me. Like yes, great, Slimane is a solid singer, amazing, go us. But the instrumental is so stale and unimpressive and I’m not a fan of the lyrics either. I wish I could feel the song like you do, but right now I’m struggling to fully be on board. I just hope it does well because the interest in Eurovision in France is near 0.”
14. Netherlands (Joost Klein – Europapa)
(A: 17 – B: 8 – C: 25 – D: 10)
Juror C: “It’s trying too hard to be funny but it’s just not super interesting. Like it’s trying to be a meme or to be viral but it’s kinda cringe? It’s not the worst song, it’s kinda enjoyable at parts but I’m not buying it all too much, it’s just German hip hop at this point. Not sure why it’s so hyped but oh well.”
Juror D: “It’s just pure fun and it’s good musically. It could be anywhere between my 7th and 10th place but it’s 10th right now because for now, I vibe with the songs above a bit more. But I like that we have a native language, a throwback to the 90s and nice visuals. I really like the synth parts before the gabber a lot too. I guess if I wanted to nitpick, the chorus could go a bit harder but it’s really good!”
13. Czechia (Aiko – Pedestal)
(A: 16 – B: 16 – C: 7 – D: 19)
Juror C: “This is the catchiest chorus this year, I really like the teen rebellion energy. It’s not reinventing the wheel but it’s just a really solid rock track. Not sure I have much else to add but it’s well written and sung and hella catchy.”
Juror D: “I like the vibe, I like the lyrics and I like her energy but there’s just other songs I enjoy more than this one. But this is a good track, just not the best song this year.”
12. Spain (Nebulossa – Zorra)
(A: 14 – B: 18 – C: 6 – D: 17)
Juror C: “Look, they won me over with these synths. Seriously, I love the synths. Did I tell you about the synths? Oh yeah, the actual song is awesome and it’s just pure fun. Spain is doing great two years in a row.”
Juror A: “This and Georgia are the growers of the year. Is it an exceptional piece of music? Clearly not. Do I care about it? Clearly not either. This is just pure fun and I’ll just embrace it fully: yeah, my taste might be trashy with this one, but I’m very happy about it. I don’t care if it does well or not in the contest either, at least I’ve found a really great song for my playlist. Bonus point for the lyrics and the “I don’t give a damn” attitude.”
11. Portugal (Iolanda – Grito)
(A: 4 – B: 15 – C: 5 – D: 30)
Juror C: “I love this song. This is artistic without being pretentious and clearly not written just for Eurovision in mind. The acapella opening works perfectly, the addition of the guitar is subtly done and leads perfectly to the pre-chorus, and the chorus is really good with a pleasant minimalist tone. It’s really well written and composed and Iolanda’s voice is not doing too much or too little. Honestly, if this doesn’t qualify, this is a huge loss for Eurovision.”
Juror D: “It could be a grower but at this moment, I’m not feeling the song at all. It’s artsy, it’s a vibe but it’s also kind of boring and just… there. Like it’s probably well composed and all but I’m very indifferent to this song as a whole.”
10. Greece (Marina Satti – Zari)
(A: 3 – B: 9 – C: 37 – D: 3)
Juror C: “Seriously? This is just really bad Balkan music you can hear in any cheap club in Dalmatia. That’s like Greek turbofolk and no, it’s not a compliment. I have some recommendations of shitty Balkan music if you like this. I can’t stand this song, clear last place!”
Juror A: “I’ll go to any club in Split if I can hear this song being played anytime of the week! Seriously, I love everything about it. This is just true to Marina Satti’s sound (listen to her album guys) and vision, the tongue-in-cheek video has to be the absolute best this year, the sound is culturally rooted yet still feels extremely modern and dynamic, kinda like the music video, I just love the juxtaposition of the traditional imagery and the urban, fresh sounds Marina plays with. It’s giving “if Rosalía was from the Balkans” and that’s a huge compliment from me. I don’t care if this doesn’t qualify, I’ll keep vibing to this song every time it’s on. Would have been my winner in any other year.”
9. Belgium (Mustii – Before the Party’s Over)
(A: 12 – B: 5 – C: 9 – D: 25)
Juror D: “This is just cold and pretentious. Mustii is just overdoing it with his vocals. Good for you, you can sing but it doesn’t lead anywhere, and the song’s buildup is not the most interesting. I was a little bored for the whole song, I expected more from Belgium, but this is quite disappointed honestly. It’s a skip.”
Juror B: “This is such a mood; you really have to feel the song. I love the climax; everything is just perfectly done and gripping. Mustii’s voice is perfect for the track. I love the sad feeling, I love the dark atmosphere, the choir hits perfectly and the lyrics are a vibe. Belgium being in my top 5 for the second time in a row! Love it.”
8. Switzerland (Nemo – The Code)
(A: 10 – B: 7 – C: 27 – D: 5)
Juror C: “It’s like you go to science lab, add a bit of drum’n’bass, add a bit of rap, add a bit of symphonic and it’s just an incoherent messy track that does too much in 3 minutes and overworks itself. By far one of the most inconsistent songs this year that would need a good cleanup to be interesting without overdoing it. Not feeling the hype, nope.”
Juror B: “I really love the lyrics and I’m so glad we have another really good song with LGBTQ+ related themes. And the song is just an organized chaos, I love it very much. Their vocals are really impressive, and the chorus is really catchy. I’m not 100% into the rap part but that’s the only thing I’m not fully convinced by. I really enjoy the visuals and how they match the message of the song. It’s so good.”
7. Ukraine (Alyona Alyona & Jerry Heil – Teresa & Maria)
(A: 1 – B: 12 – C: 10 – D: 16)
Juror A: “It’s one of these songs where it’s not words I need to describe this song. It just struck a chord and never left me ever since. And it’s funny because the first time I listened to it, I wasn’t in love but I kept humming it, thinking about it again and again and with time and listens, it moved all the way up to the top. Again, it just speaks right to the heart and I can completely overlook the little details I could nitpick. Ukraine once again delivers.”
Juror B: “I really like this song but would love it even more if it wasn’t for the rap verse that doesn’t work to me. It clashes with the ethnic elements and if the rap wasn’t there, the song would rank even higher. I really like Jerry’s voice, I really like the lyrics and the Ukrainian language and even though the song feels like a long chorus or a build up to a chorus, it works very well here and I’m vibing with this song.”
6. Serbia (Teya Dora – Ramonda)
(A: 8 – B: 14 – C: 3 – D: 13)
Juror C: “Omg the synths… no I’m just kidding. It’s a really beautiful composition with a meaning and it has a touching and soothing quality. I’m not the usual fan of these Billie Eilish-like vocals as she mumbles a little, but the song is just that good it’s my third place.”
Juror D: “It’s a good song, very pretty and ethereal but it’s also a little bit flat. I followed PZE so I preferred Zorja or Breskvica as you know, but it’s still good and she sings it well. But I have songs I prefer over this one.”
5. Armenia (Ladaniva – Jako)
(A: 9 – B: 11 – C: 11 – D: 4)
Juror D: “This is what I watch Eurovision for. It’s fun, it’s cultural, it’s in native language and you can tell what country it is from! Also the singer is super charismatic and gorgeous and completely sells the song. I love this so much and this is going right into my playlist!”
Juror A: “Not much to add to that really, it’s only 9th for me because this year is so damn strong. I love everything about it, and it’s also close to my favourite music video as well, if it wasn’t for Greece and Estonia.”
4. Italy (Angelina Mango – La Noia)
(A: 7 – B: 13 – C: 8 – D: 2)
Juror D: “I’m obsessed with everything about this. I love the Italian language, it sounds so good. I love her so much, she’s a star and her voice is absolutely amazing. I also get young Ariana Grande vibes from her somehow. The music video is amazing, maybe my favourite one and the song is a pure banger. Like I’ll go on Spotify and put this on repeat all the time, it’s really iconic. I wouldn’t be mad if it won, that’d be deserved. Not surprised it won Sanremo.”
Juror B: “Yeah it’s a great song! I don’t like having it only 13th because I like it very much but this year is so strong. This is fun and makes you want to dance, and she is stunning honestly. It’s a really nice song, I like it!”
3. Slovenia (Raiven – Veronika)
(A: 11 – B: 4 – C: 4 – D: 8)
Juror B: “I love it so much and I love her so much. I like everything about it. It’s complex, it’s visually stunning, I love the lyrics, I love that she uses folklore and the message is great, and I love her vibe and her voice. I wish I could understand Slovenian better and not have to read the lyrics. It’s not catchy but it’s just a song you vibe with, you either get it or don’t. I want her to do so well at the contest. (ETA; I mentioned to her that Bojan from Joker Out was involved in the composition) My boys Joker Out are involved? That’s even better!”
Juror A: “This is switching between my 10th and my 11th constantly, but you said it all. It’s very committed in its artistry and Raiven clearly has a vision and will be very much faithful to her vision in Sweden. She never goes down the easy route and I love that about Veronika. I’m a bit scared the audience isn’t going to get it when they’ll first see it on stage and it might get lost. I really hope not.”
2. Estonia (5miinust & Puuluup - (nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (küll) midagi)
(A: 5 – B: 2 – C: 1 – D: 7)
Juror C: “It's a frickin banger! The beat is awesome, the traditional instruments well incorporated, and that fucking dance.... I just love it. The best part is that the dudes clearly DON'T GIVE A FUCK and are having fun... from the hairstyles to the overlong title which nobody will remember - zero fucks given! It manages to be eclectic while being cohesive. And just damn fun.”
Juror A: “So in the ESC fandom, people dismiss songs with fun undertones sometimes with the term “joke entry” and I’ve seen it being applied to Estonia as well. Screw it, if it’s a joke entry, I’m fully on board with it. The production quality is excellent, the song packs a punch and serves a chorus that brings both modern and traditional, the talharpa perfectly complements the song and these dudes are just having fun and doing it in an impressively professional way. I want this in the finals.”
1. Croatia (Baby Lasagna – Rim Tim Tagi Dim)
(A: 6 – B: 1 – C: 2 – D: 1)
Juror C: “It's a high-octane industrial-rock song that's just brimming with energy through and through, and that' exactly what makes it catchy - from the beat to the chorus, everything's an earworm. Marko also doesn't run from his influences like Käärijä or Rammstein - he embraces them, so mad respect for honesty. All that is topped by some genuine and serious lyrics dealing with social issues - the experiences and fears of a boy leaving his home in search for a better life, which I believe is a very relatable topic for much of the audience. All around great song for me.”
Juror B: “This is so much the type of song I love, and I can’t believe we’re sending this to Eurovision. I love the lyrics so much, I love the energy, I love the hook, I love the vibe and I hope we have a great result with this song at Eurovision.”
So that’s it, that was the thoughts of my friend group about the Eurovision songs this year. Thanks for making it to the end! You might have had a lot of time to waste. I hope you had fun reading through THAT MASSIVE WALL OF TEXT, and congrats to Croatia for being the new “overall ranking winner of the people I harass way too much with Eurovision anyway”.
