Hello there stranger.
I'm a 27-year-old guy from the UK, and I'm here in search of new friends to brighten up my day and share some of the things I love with. Life can get a bit hectic and isolating at times, so having someone to chat with would be a breath of fresh air.
A bit about me: I'm a fan of video games, and currently been playing Jedi Fallen Order in anticipation of the next game. I work in healthcare. While the job can be quite rewarding, it also comes with its fair share of stress and odd hours (which means I almost certainly will have times where our routines are in sync not matter where in the world you’re from)!

As we enter any kind of socialization - we will eventually encounter a conflict. With social anxiety our core problem is sensitivity to criticism and scrutiny from the others. We can observe this fear as pain from other people hating us and other people being angry at us. People can get angry at us and hate us when we say something that they didn't like, when we make a mistake, when we do not act in a way that they desire, when they have a bad day but they are afraid to confront the cause of their distress - so they use us as their punching bag. Whatever is the reason for them being rude - we will experience the social anxiety pain - and I would describe these pain issues as Loops inside the roller-coaster.
As I depict social anxiety as roller-coaster - we already enter into social situation with decrepit thinking patterns. Not because our mind is abnormal or lacking - but because in childhood we never learned to take care of our garden, of our machine. Nobody told us that our operating system has the Update button which we need to press occasionally in order to solve chronic problems that stifle and hinge us from operating. So we enter into contact with toxic people - without any healthy defense mechanism. All we have is childish set of defense mechanisms that we learned in ACE ACoA years: masking, people pleasing, conforming, fawning.
The problem is that without being aware how social anxiety functions - we will tend to blame ourselves for feeling panic and disgust and fear when around toxic people. If we enter into default therapy for social anxiety- CBT will also explain to us that our brain is abnormal and that we are causing all the problems with social anxiety - even though social anxiety is called anxiety triggered by society: social + anxiety.
Without learning the fact that conflict is normal part of socialization - we learned falsely through abuse - that all conflict is our fault and our responsibility. CBT joins into this false explanation and tells us that we need to prune and fix our thinking through the ABC method. In reality - if the other person is angry and rude - we did nothing wrong. We did not cause other person to be mentally ill and anti-social psychopath without empathy.
How can I know this?
Well let's examine the analogy of social anxiety through representing it as roller-coaster map.
It is obvious - that inside these loops (events when the toxic people trigger us into social anxiety panic) - that we end up with twisting ourselves into pretzel. Not because of our cognitive distortions as CBT explains it to us - but because the roller-coaster is constructed by toxic people - it is their game that we need to partake. Due to lack of money, due to need for money, due to family, due to contract obligation - we are forced to enter into roller-coaster - and then we will end up with loops - that will cause us to feel panic, disgust, fear. So how do I know that we do not have cognitive distortions in social anxiety?
Well -
let's see what happens when we ignore this loops.
Let's say we completed the Ludovico method from Clockwork Orange - which is CBT exposure - and not we have no cognitive distortions at all. Now we can face the social world without any fear and panic.
And look what happens in the loops :
WE GET PUNISHED!
Toxic people will punish us, especially if they have an ounce of power over us:
Analogy of social anxiety as roller-coaster loops
Each loop has punishment - if we do not conform to the external elements. The loop would be: self hatred, silence, idealization, obligation... If I do not hate myself - toxic person will make sure that I do. If I am not silent - toxic person will shut me up. If I do not idealize the situation - I won't be able to face toxic people. If I stop with toxic responsibility - I will be reprimanded in some way or another.
Other people will punish us - and this is how we end up with loops. They will exclude us. They will scream and be angry at us. Obviously - we need resilience - yet it is not so easy. We might get fired from a job - and if we live in poor country or if our panic level is to strong -we might not get another source of income. How are we suppose to live? The resilient part then means being resilient to the pain. Toxic people punish us in a way that we experience the pain. Resilience also means that we change our view on life- so that we do not try to accumulate money in order to impress other people. Then we can quit the rat race - and by quitting chasing money we will naturally stay away from toxic people who are drawn to the money and fame and fortune. Another resilience is when we chase fear of missing out or when we fall as easy prey to predators who pretend to have things that we seek - like friendships and not being alone.
I believe with social anxiety we run the roller-coaster with our eyes being shut or blind folded. We do not see what is happening and we instead are triggered by the impulses, reactions to the pain. When we feel the pain - we naturally seek the comfort and pleasure but we do not understand where from this pain is coming, stemming from. It stems from toxic people. Without knowing this, we will tend to believe that we are abnormal and inept and we will be ran by our toxic shame - toxic shame will force us to overcompensate and to pretend to be better - by showing off to the others, which means self sabotaging ourselves and hanging around toxic people.
These loops are not our invention - we are simply reacting to the toxic people who are in some kind of power dynamics over us. When we reject their ideas, they will mock us and we will be criticized. Because toxic people are unable to handle criticism themselves. The facts are toxic to them and they will feel pain when faced with reality - moral and ethical standards, which we have plenty of.
So each loop has punishment attached to it - as I shown in the sketch. This means - people control us via their punishments. This is called Operant Conditioning. And we are not aware of it. We think that it is our fault and that we are doing something wrong. Normal people do not control others. Sane people do not perform experiments on other people like rats. This is done only by extremely sick, abnormal and mentally ill evil people who feel entitled to do such things. Due to their lack of empathy. Their lack of moral and ethical standards. Due to them living in their grandiose fantasy delusions. After all - this is how narcissists and psychopaths end up doing criminal activities. Their own loops are based on fantasy and delusions and paranoia - the competition, smear campaign, in order to appear superior to the others. They try to fend off shame and inferiority.
We end up being guided by avoiding the pain. We end up being guided by toxic people. Avoiding the pain and punishment we end up on hamster wheel of worry and people pleasing.
The general instruction is to minimize exposure to toxic people cut contact with them - and to minimize influence of pain, and to tolerate the pain. This is common "advice". However in reality - social anxiety will happen when we do not have choice to choose people around us. We cannot relocate and change jobs every 5 minutes when we encounter someone toxic. Tolerating the pain will be impossible if the abuse is chronic. And we won't be able to cut toxic people off if we do not see another ship on the horizon.
So we need the construct - without it we won't find the grounding. The construct is only possible with our full Self, when we are confident - when we accept our flaws and imperfections and do not hide them anymore. When we do not mask our feelings in order to please others. Tolerating the pain would not be tolerating toxic people by conforming to them.
Therefore we need courage to endure the pain - but this will be impossible without the construct. The construct is text like this one - education in trauma and abuse. Construct is knowing that we are allowed to be angry. With CBT we do not have the construct. CBT tells us to expose. Without explaining the trauma. So what happens is we end up people pleasing - because CBT does not teach us to be angry, to have the vent, ability to create energy. Without it - we will end up with panic and inability to protect ourselves from toxic people, predators, people with severe anti-social behavior which is criminally insane.
Tolerating the pain along with tolerating the abuse as CBT instructs us to do - will get us accustomed to the abuse. At some point. Eventually we will have a burn out. And life wasted on toxic people and being slave to them. Social anxiety therefore is an alarm system that we do not tolerate the abuse. Social anxiety is an attempt to pull ourselves from the enemy soil. To stop investing in toxic people and to retreat. And this is exactly the Radical Acceptance and Nothingness - the only cure for abuse, toxic shame and inner critic. The only thing that we lack of is the trust in ourselves.
The trust in our brain. In our ability to think of decisions. The trust in our reactions as valid - as oppose to label them as pathology as CBT tries to convince us.
Because let's investigate - how do we treat ourselves when we are mistaken? How we treat ourselves when we make fool out of ourselves? Not good. The central idea here is to trust our responses. Social anxiety is an attempt to regulation, peace and Ventral Vagal - our final destination.
Our goal is to be natural. not to feel fear among people. That we act naturally - without hang ups, without worrying how we acted and if we embarrassed ourselves in front of the others with our comments, clothes, behavior. We need to trust our reactions and ability to handle problems. Without this belief we will be codependent and end with toxic shame. When we cannot rely on ourselves due to shame - toxic people will exploit us easily. All they need to do is to create hysteria and we will jump in to rescue them and to defend our honor, to clear our name - so that they do not think badly about us. Let them think badly about us. Allow them to hate us and do not do anything to change their mind.
When we try hard to impress other people in order that they do not have bad thoughts about us - we will create plethora of dysfunctional coping mechanisms - which all serve the purpose to please the toxic people. Defenses are narcissistic - because we try to control other people through these defenses, we attempt to manipulate the others opinion about us so that they do not attack us. And we believe that we are important to defend - yet in the same time we reject ourselves - we do not love ourselves at all. What we are defending is learned automatic response - that toxic narcissistic people taught us during ACE and ACoA. We end up with automatic toxic goals. And they generate layers of toxic shame of their own. Like virus in a computer, copy pasting itself. And these goals are these loops -

Healing the trauma means healing our toxic shame that propel us to overcompensate and to compete with others and to hide away our vulnerability. If we are in unfavorable power position where toxic person has the power over us to provide us with money and security - we need to stop feeling responsible for it. What they choose to do - with their punishments - is their own choice. We do not cause toxic people to be toxic. This is totally their decision based on their mental illness. There is nothing that we done to cause them to be evil. Being evil is their free choice. In ACE and ACoA we learned to feel responsible for the evil people - and we try hard to clean up their behavior and to make them shine and appear as angel to the others.
Toxic people with smallest ounce of power over us will harm us and punish us in order to control us - like vampire would suck the blood - they need the supply like any other parasite. They cannot stop themselves - and we need to understand that toxic people will not have a change of heart. Their whole system of thinking is messed up and they crave fame and power and influence.
Our job is to realize once we have the tiniest ounce of power - to break apart and leave. And to realize that social anxiety is exactly that - social anxiety is this power - to cut toxic people off. If nothing else - through becoming autistic in order that toxic people do not take our mind, too. I would stop with pathologizing social anxiety. Our social anxiety is the instrument as response to toxic people and toxic ambient that has some kind of control over us. As soon as we are surrounded by normal and healthy people - our mental health will improve too - and this social anxiety map is here to help us navigate where we are.
If we find ourselves being punished by others for not conforming to their terror - it is sign that that person is toxic. The problem is not inside us.
If we find ourselves from suffering social anxiety symptoms - open your eyes. Check and investigate people around us. Look for the clues. It is like mystery investigation, detective work to look for the clues and who has done it.
If we find ourselves being silent - start talking and check what happens as reactions to people around us - how they react.
If we find ourselves being hypervigilant and stiff - relax - and see what happens in reactions to people around us. Toxic people hate relaxed people and they are not shy about letting us know - to order and command us how to feel - that there is something to worry about.
Start by writing it down and then see the pattern - if this is chronic behavior. Remember what happened in the past when we stepped outside of our social anxiety roles and our victimhood persona - we were punished by toxic people in some form or another - usually through their criticism and complaints and drama and hysteria.

let's investigate what happens when we do not have social anxiety map, when we have no education in psychology. And what are our constructs.

I'm on mobile, writing this brought back a lot of emotions. So if it's sloppy,I apologize.....
I've debated about posting this, but it's been a year now. So I should be ok. I've posted on Reddit before, asking about situations at the company but changed some things. So here we are, and here's a full run down of my time there
I started in May, 2019. Part time and straight out of highschool. By November, I was full time and had store keys, training to be a closing manager (RSS)
In 2020, we had a coworker stalk a new hire, as he really wanted to date her, she felt uncomfortable but since he was a manager, she felt inclined to do as he wanted. She came to me as we were close in age. I helped her talk with our boss. He was soon let go.
Then we hired another girl, and she was.... Something.
She decided that she was going to get the boss to fall for her, and be the favorite. Boss was annoyed by her, and she found it funny to walk up behind me when I was on a phone call, reach around and grab my chest. She did this in front of customers as well. Our store had no cameras.
Even after I told her to knock it off, she kept on. Soon the customers were trying to treat me the same. Trying to touch me, asking if they can "Rent me" and other gross things.
I'd told my boss, SM. But at the time, we had a very.... Slow to act DM. So nothing was done.
One day, I was training a new hire. I was on the phone with a customer, and he was beside me at the counter with a customer. She walked up behind me, reached around, but this time, one hand went up, one went down and she was telling our new hire "it's ok to do this cause there's no cameras" and slowly started undoing the buttons on my shirt.
I'd gotten permission from my boss at the time to react in anyway I had to to get her off me, as our DM didn't want to get involved but wouldn't allow him to fire her.
so I kicked her as hard as I could. She fell, and started laughing. After she left, I explained to him what's been going on. He understood but was upset and uncomfortable, not that I blame him. She'd been written up for this before.
The next day, DM was there. New hire had called tips, and told them if they didn't do anything about this he would go public, forcing the DM to do something. Well, we found out this day, that we had a new DM. As the company "had decided due to so many complaints under this DM, that they needed to take him from DM, and make him a SM again for awhile"
This one took swift action. She was canned. After this, the new hires we got were so much better. But unfortunately, the system we used, showed our phone numbers and addresses. So this, now ex coworker, started stalking me. Sending me threatening messages and following me home, company said just block and ignore. Police wouldn't help til she did something threatening my life. I'd come outside to my tires all flat, my car scratched, I'd be followed home, it was a mess. A few times I'd be followed, run off the road, one morning on the way to work, I called the store and told them I was being followed. Everyone knew by now what was happening, and they watched as I pulled in, my SM went outside to tell the girl to leave, as she tried to slam her car into mine. I'd Changed everything by then, moved, new number, new route to abd from work. Hadn't seen her in awhile.
I left that store in Feb of 2021, and went to a bigger store to be trained as a ASM and as a safety precaution, to create more space in case the chic came back. (As she still circled the store time to time) Once there, I helped run the store. I was there til August of that same year, I was "loaned" out to help a different store, but still was expected to run my second store. As the SM was out due to family issues.
So now I'm running two stores, one store where no one respects the store manager, and one store where there is no store manager. So I'm training people at one location while running this other store as the store manager is sleeping off a hangover In the office.
During this, I was training some guys from the second store, and on October 19th, 2021. I had been at store #3 getting stuff ready for the upcoming inventory, so I got home around 12AM. My phone was dead, I was tired and I had a husky needing to go outside. When two of the guys I was training pull up. They had gotten my address off of the computer and were here because "they were sick of the management and needed me back there" they knew what apartment number I was so they ran up the stairs and beat me to the door. I was tired and not in the mood to get into it that night, so they passed out on the couch and next morning, I'm being called due to them not coming in. So I answer and told them that they are currently passed out on my couch, I got in trouble for them not coming into work.
It went smoothly for awhile, then December 13th, 2021 comes along. At this time, my relationship with my mother was rocky. I had gone low contact with her. I also never told anyone my business, as I figured it wasn't anyones need to know. My personal life stays personal. Well, two store managers take it upon themselves to integrate me. It's their day off, so I'm running the store, only have one delivery driver that day, short staffed, they pull up and have me go into the back of the store, which has no walls. So everyone can hear what's being said.
And they lay into me. For 3hrs til I'm in tears and have told them everything that went on with my mother and why we're low contact. The store manager decides she's going to be my hero and go confront my mother, have her husband beat my mother up and have this show down. They told me to not worry, return to work and they'll handle it. And left. Leaving me crying, shaking and still trying to run a store, get people to lunch and my teams now more focused on me, what they heard in the conversation and some are calling the DM to report what just happened. This made a very awkward month, as now DM is involved, the SM's got a talking to and I had to relive this twice more. Once with the DM, then HR. Tho HR labeled this a "in house issue" and weren't willing to help.
After this, it calmed down. The SM's were now out to get me for "getting them in trouble" but otherwise, it seemed fine. Tho I was working with the store managers daughter, so she kept her mom updated, and made sure to mention my mothers abuse towards me and tell others about it as well. She liked the gossip of it.
Then on March 5th, 2022. The store managers daughter had been slacking. Big time. On her phone in the office, taking "favors" for reduced product, or just ignoring her job and making others pick up the slack. I was spread thin, mentally and physically. Trying to help with training a new store manager, training staff at my second store, and keeping this third one up. So when I was catching up on freight, and found she was off in the back on her phone watching TikTok, I got on her about it. She got upset, and said "you've been really moody lately. I think you're pregnant" to which I told her I'm stressed trying to get stuff going, I haven't had a break in awhile, and you aren't helping at all.( She also has this mindset that I slept with my first store manager. And that I was still with him and pregnant by him. )
She rolled her eyes, and on her break, she went out and bought a pregnancy test. When she returns, she hides my clipboard and paperwork, and had blocked my car in. Then, in front of the few staff I had that day, announces that I'm to take this pregnancy test, or she'll destroy the paperwork, and tell the SM that I wasn't actually in store, didn't do my paperwork and have been flaky. She had the DM and SM's wrapped around her finger. So I told her this isn't appropriate and that I'd rather not. This went back and forth, to the point of her getting in the way of me answering phones and helping customers, she'd physically take the phone from my hand and hang up, or tell the customer that I couldn't help them at this time.
So I told her, if I do, I'm going home for the rest of the day. I had 2 hours left of my shift. She said fine. But she needed to be in the bathroom as I took it, so I don't "cheat".
After that, she moved her car and I left. For the day. Went home, called HR. They told me it's an in store issue, and unfortunately they rather not get involved with it. So I told the DM. He had already received reports from the other staff, telling him what happened. She was talked to, but that's it. For the rest of the week, she talked about how cute it would be if I had a baby with my first SM, asked about what he was like in bed and if we did it in the store - this SM and I were close, he was a father figure/role model to me. If I couldn't figure something out, he was my first call. She ruined the friendship I had with him, as we both felt awkward when we worked together due to her. As she told her mom and the gossip spread like wildfire.
March 15th, 2022. I requested a week off. I needed a break, my car needed maintenance and I figured I would head to the ocean with my husky for a couple days. So the first day off, the 12th, I drop my car off at the dealership so they can replace a recall. They say it'll be 5 hours so I walk around town, just relaxing. Then they tell me that unfortunately, they found a new issue and are going to keep my car for a month, and have no way of giving me a loaner. I try to figure out why and it's the runaround, my buddy comes to my aid and helps me get my stuff from my car as they wouldn't let me back there to get my stuff. Then we go to my mother's house to try and get the spare car I have. But the rack and pinion blew on it the same day. So next day I spend trying to tear it apart. I get halfway through when work calls, and let's me know my vacation request ends early as the SM's daughter had an emergency and I need to cover for her. I tell them I'm without a car, in a city an hour away, and the SM says "not my problem. Figure it out. I need you in. If you aren't in, I'm writing you up and firing you"
So I rush to get the car going, and on the 14th, Im stressed, tired, sore and anxious. I push a tool a bit to hard and it slips on grease, comes flying out of the wheel well and hits me in the head, hard. My mother comes back an hour later to find me knocked out. My first concussion. (By this time, we'd had a better relationship/understanding and were working towards building it)
So that night, she drops me off at my apartment. No rental places had any cars, so that morning, I grab my scooter, my husky, and walk the 4hrs to the store. Two hours in, I start to have an asthma attack. My body's shaking, my heads killing me, but we get there. Almost falling in the parking lot. We get in, I sit by the door catching my breath. A driver who used to volunteer at the fire station, comes over and checks my pulse, gets worried and recommends I go to the ER. I tell him I'm okay, the SM has already left for the day. So I need to be here to close. I get cleaned up, and the DM calls. Saying the SM called to tell him I hadn't shown up, and to ask where I was. I told him I just walked there, im wheezing and he's concerned too. I tell him she threatened to fire me if I didn't get here. He said he'd talk to her. Nothing ever came of it.
July 6th, 2022. The DM decided to move me permanently back to my 2nd store, as the store manager was going through personal stuff and I was needed there. So I went. It had been a couple weeks before this, but on the 6th, my shifts were 7am to 7pm. Or til 9:30 if the closer didn't come in. So I come in on time, start working, and go into the back of the store to get hose for a customer. I'm still feeling the symptoms of the concussion from March, but power through. I'm not sure how, but I managed to slip on a piece of paper, fall back and hit the base of my skull on the shelf, then when I was getting up, hit my forehead on it too. A coworker came looking for me. And found me, in his words "in a puddle of blood". He gets me up and takes care of the customer, and gets me to the bathroom and cleaned up. Then we go to the SM and let her know.
She says "You're standing up. You can work. Clean yourself up and get on the counter" I had a two week vacation scheduled, starting the next day. So she thought I was trying to get off work early. Something I had never done. So I go the front after cleaning myself up, the nasty gash on my head swelling up and getting attention. The store is hot, it's 90 outside, and I'm in my jacket shivering cause I'm cold. This happened at about 9AM. I went to her at 12PM and requested a break so I could go out to my car, grab some pain pills and come back. She said no, as I might not return. So I worked through it. I tried calling a couple people to see if they could cover me, as I was feeling worse and worse. But nothing. By 3, a coworker comes in and sees me. His shift didn't start for another two hours, but he immediately told me to go home.
By how, the SM has sent two others home early as we were " slow" and didn't need them. She also wanted to leave, which would mean I'd be the only manager there. He was a manager in training. But he counted my til down and the SM said as I left "since you don't feel good, maybe you shouldn't go to your sister's and just relax. But if I see any pictures of you on vacation after this, I'll know you lied to get out of it."
I went out to my car, which was a 2019 base model Sentra, I left at 4pm. I didn't get home til 8:30/9pm. A drive, with traffic takes an hour. My car had no lane deparcher or blindspot monitoring. When I pulled into my spot at my boyfriend's apartment, as I had moved in with him after coworkers kept finding out where I lived, or gave my address out to random people. My car was scratched up, the rims had curb rash, the passenger side had scratches. I don't know where I went or why it took so long to get home. I remember getting into my car, turning it on, turning on the A/C and that's it.
I went inside and passed out on the bed, my boyfriend couldn't wake me up for dinner, next morning my mother came and got me, taking me to the ER. I had yet another concussion. The doctor told me to stay away from screens, loud noises, drink water and just relax. Refrain from hitting my head again.
After my vacation, I returned with a letter of resignation. As I did some thinking. I couldn't stand the job anymore, the gossip, the crap... The random guys who would get my number and say "someone gave me your number at the store." And I'd have to change my number again. I have a folder of some of the weirdest ones.
I gave my resignation to the SM I currently was under. She denied it. Said no, she needed me to run her store while she took care of stuff, but this was the same SM who believed that I slept with my first SM, denied my raise and SM training as "according to the 3rd store I was sent to. I didn't do anything of what I was supposed to do, got the SM and her friend and the daughter in trouble, I took my vacations without thinking of anyone else"
I went to my first SM, he faxed the paperwork in. My last day was scheduled for August 18th, 2022. Clearly stated on my resignation letter. I gave my two weeks notice on Aug. 4th. 2022.
Everyone started freaking out in management. My DM tried getting me to stay, as it was a shock to him. But I couldn't. On my last day, she scheduled me for a closing shift. With nothing on the following days. She put me on for that Saturday. She calls me, asking where I am. I tell her my last day was Thursday. She tells me no. That she decides when my last day is, and I'm needed there right now. She thought we had talked it out, and that I would "come to my senses" and see reasoning. I told her I was firm on no longer working there, and I had already turned in all my keys. She blew up. Calling me every name in the book, degrading me, she called other stores and a lot of my friends there, turned on me. As she told them straight lies.
I blocked everyone as I started getting hate messages, people commenting on my social media, saying awful stuff. It was hell. I blocked everyone, and for awhile. I had to block accounts or deactivate my stuff. Finally, it all stopped.
I thought I was going to be with that company forever. I missed friends events for it. Family stuff, and events I wanted to go to, cuz of the job..,.. but in the end, those who were assholes to me, got placed in higher positions. Praised for "dealing with everything" and took credit for everything I did. I still get messages asking how to do something, but those go unanswered.
I miss the challenges, the interactions with customers and cars. But I don't miss how HR worked. How tight some are, that they can easily sway things to benefit them just cuz they know each other outside of the company.
It was fun. But I'm glad I got out, and it's burned me... I miss certain people there. But I can't ever be positive about that company again

I (30f) have been friends with K(31f) for 25 years. She moved away back in 2015 and was so happy for her. I called almost every day, and texted her too with no responses or call backs so I eventually stopped. We still talked just not as much and she did make sure to tell me when she’d be in town to see me. A few years ago we met T(32f) and we all got along even tho we all live in different states. Last year, K’s uncle passed away, I attended the funeral with her, and then T also came to visit as well. K had a crush on T, and spent most over her time flirting/spending time with T, which made me feel like the third wheel, and I brought this up to them and I don’t think it ever really got resolved .
This year they both came to visit, first T showed up and spent two weeks with me, then K showed up. As I was taking T over to K, I told T I understood if she wanted to stay with K the rest of the trip but ask that she let me know if she was, because I have really bad anxiety and given how last years visit went, and she said that she would and that she understood where I was coming from. I was also under the impression that T and I were supposed to hang out that weekend because K told us she had a friend she wanted to see alone, so to my surprise, when I called T to ask if I needed to pick her up Friday she said she was staying with K and her other friend, and said they would see me Sunday, two days before I had to take her to the airport, which is about two hours away(this is an important note for the story), and i told her how I was feeling left out again. And that I was feeling lonely. Again T said she understood. Fast forward to Sunday, I show up at Ks mom’s house. K and T aren’t there so I just hang out with my godmother, and my kids. Whenever they show up K asked T to get the rest of their bags and put them in the rental truck T rented. “Are you not coming back with me T?” I asked confused “no I’m staying here.” So I gathered up my kids and told them to get in the car. T tried to stop me, and I lost my temper and started yelling all of my feeling about the situation. Yes I know I shouldn’t have yelled, I was just tried of holding everything back. I mentioned that it seemed like I wasn’t that important to them and I was sick of being treated like a 3rd wheel, it wasn’t fair how they treated me at all. T apologized, and I did too also I made sure she knew I wasn’t yelling at her but at the situation, to which again she said she understood. I leave, call Ks mom and apologize. The next day I message T and ask if I need to bring the rest of her stuff to her. She asked if I was still taking her to the airport to which I basically said it was her choice. She said no I didn’t need to bring it I said ok. A little bit later I messaged her and asked if we were ok. That conversation went like this T: I need time to sort my feelings Me: so no. At least I know where we stand. T: well how do you expect me to feel after how you treated me yesterday? Me: I’m sorry, but I thought we talked about that before I left. Instead of doing this over text, why don’t I meet y’all at Ks moms and we can sort this out. T: fine, but bring my stuff. And bring Ks mom the jerky I made.
I show up around 5pm Monday night and again they aren’t there,I so I wait for 3 hours. When they finally show up both of them had been drinking/were drinking but I took a deep breath, and apologized for yelling, explaining why I did what I did and exactly how I was feeling. Whenever it came time for them to speak, K opens her phone “hold on, I typed up everything I wanted to say to you: It’s a red flag that you don’t get along with your in laws or husband or your mom. And it’s toxic that you don’t have friends here. You’re gate keeping Ts friendship. I didn’t invite you to hang out with us because you don’t like any of my friends and I didn’t wanna make you uncomfortable, you’re abusive. If you don’t yell at your kids like that you shouldn’t yell at your friends like that. We were gonna ask you to go to the splash park with us yesterday but you left. I could have told your kids you were being a bitch but I didn’t” T said “you abused me by using me as a punching bag.” I was feeling really bad and took it as I had this coming. And that this whole thing was my fault. But nothing got resolved. The rest of the night they made snide remarks “we would offer to share this drink but you have to drive.” Or “we went to the mall without you hope that’s ok”. Tuesday the day of the fight, I drive back out to Ks mom’s house and pick both of them up. Drive to my house so I can let my dogs out one last time before I make a four hour trip. T ask about the jerky again and I told her I was sorry but the kids ate it and that is mom and I would make more. She started yelling “ I thought you said my stuff would be safe here.” I apologized again but pointed out that I managed to keep everything else safe. But she was still yelling about the jerky, the stopped and said “I’m not yelling at you just the situation.” I’m not sure if it was to get back at me or to prove a point but the next two hours were just shitty comment after shitty comment. The one that bugs me the most was one of my four kids said they were hungry and she said “well if your mom didn’t procrastinate so much maybe we would have gotten something.” Looks at me “you know I’m just messing with you” finally drop her off and I headed home. It’s been about two weeks ago, and I haven’t really been talking to either one. I’m not sure what to do. I feel like crap but also I feel like it’s not completely my fault.

TL;DR, or if you don't care for the long background: my (incredible) gf has a guy friend who "doesn't like third wheeling". I know she has no feelings for him, but the other way around is in the back of my mind because he seems to avoid me at every turn and we have barely even spoke. Would that feel off to you?
Hi Reddit, I (M23) have been in an online relationship for 2 years, just recently flew out to see her (F21), twas magical. First, I feel alot of optimism from that trip, and she's the most incredible person ever, I'm so lucky to have her. Amazing listener, very compassionate and understanding, been there for me in some really hard times, exactly my type (physically and emotionally), knows me better than I do, really fun and funny and sweet... it is going pretty well.
Coincidentally we both had VR Quest headsets and VRChat so we sometimes use it to cope with the long distance. She's got a few friends from VRChat but nowadays just the one, her guy friend (of 1.5 years). I really trust her and I'm not really insecure about anything between them, or at least on her end I guess. I know she would never ever do anything and I know she has absolutely no feelings for him. We have had those talks.
Now, I really don't know much about this guy to provide much context. In the distant past me and this guy (and usually her) have played some games together, and we had awkward-ish fun. He has also told her that he "approves" of us, and I know he likes me enough to not talk shit or start the drama he often starts with other people. My gf does come to me to vent about him being quite toxic (and how it is affecting her quite negatively), so she hasn't exactly painted a pretty picture, but I did encourage her to communicate with him and set some boundaries, so things are getting better there, and they do have fun 90% of the time.
So yeah, this guy is a bit of a red flag to me already, but all in all I trust my gf tenfold and I trust her to take care of herself and maintain the boundaries. What feels off to me is it being "one or the other" nowadays. She can either spend time with him or me, which she only says is because he doesn't like third wheeling. I understand that completely, as I do not enjoy being third wheeled myself. But sometimes it feels like more than that, like he avoids me, or she keeps him away knowing he wouldn't want me around. To be fair, I haven't made that much of an effort to get to know him or spend time, but the few times I did suggest I could join them or we could play a game together, it has been shut down because, again, he doesn't like third wheeling. Sometimes I join my gf in VR a little later on, and he happened to be there, but immediately leaves when I join. If he REALLY doesn't like third wheeling, or even doesn't like me much, that's totally fine and I respect it. I definitely got on peoples nerves in the past. Plus, truthfully, I don't have much desire to really get to know him, mostly because of the picture she's painted of him...
Again I know she has no feelings for him at all, but I don't know anything about him other than some usually bad things she tells me about things he does, plus with the last paragraph, it is in the back of my mind that maybe he is jealous of me or something. Because if that's the case, this friendship between them is just not ok with me. To be clear, if he does have feelings for her, I really don't think she knows, because I believe that she would tell me immediately, knowing that's not ok.

I (F18) dated this girl (F16) for only about six months. We met each other during a school event and our friendship eventually turned into dating. She was a pretty sweet girl, she would spoil me with gifts and so did I. Most of the time, we wouldn't see each other because we had different schedules when it came to our classes but I tried my best to make time for her because I loved her a lot at the time. Everytime my classes would end before lunch time, I would run which classroom she was in so we could each lunch together in the cafeteria. During the times I would wait, some of her friends would see me.
Whenever her friends would see me, they would call my exgf and tease her, which I would just laugh off. I ended up getting to know them more along side my exgf. One day, one of her friends texted me about her behavior when I was somewhere close to them. She told me that my exgf would take pictures of me from afar like some stalker behavior (for context, I hated getting photographed in general) and that obviously freaked me out but i didn't know if her friend was telling the truth or was just saying it as a prank to get a reaction out of me (because they s sometimes say shit to me or about my exgf to get a reaction out of me or to test my loyalty as a gf.) I asked her "Oh yeah? Do you have proof? Send them to me then." And I wasn't surprised when they only a text, making an excuse saying it's "it's on her phone I don't have any but believe me it's true."
A few weeks passed (me and my exgf were only 2 months into the relationship) and we had a school trip to go to a competition (the competition was in another school so we had to take a bus to go there) My exgf and I was in the same bus and she sat across me. I was growing tired so I took a nap in the bus and I saw her pointing her phone at me like she's taking pictures of me but I wasn't really sure, I didn't want to confront her with other people riding with us, especially teachers. A month passed and I haven't gotten a chance to confront her about it. I about confronting her about her behavior when we ate lunch but I never got the courage to do so.
On valentine's day, we had a school event and me and my club (the music club) had to perform a few songs so we could celebrate. During one of my breaks, I was sitting near the stage and saw my exgf taking photos of me. When I spotted her, she stopped and just smiled while waving her hand. Obviously, I wanted to confront her but I also didn't want to ruin our valentine's day date after school. Instead, I walked up to her and asked her politely to send me the photos (like it didn't bother me) and she said "Oh sure! I'll send you the old one's too."
I stood there wide eyed when i found out there we more. I said thanks and walked away because I had another set coming up. After my set, I hurriedly went to the bathroom to check the photos (I didn't want her to see my reaction because I was a little bit uncomfortable) I saw she had taken photos BEFORE we became friends and it was absolutely mortifying. There were so many photos, she sent me 30 photos and now knowing what she did there were probably more. I kept my cool and left the bathroom but AS SOON as I opened the door, she was there waiting outside. She asked if something happened and I just told her I was fine (I was not.)
I told my friends about what happened and they told me to leave her, but I never had a proper chance to do so. I didn't want to break up since it was Valentine's day and I also didn't want to break up during our lunch together. One of my friends suggested to break up with her through text but I didn't want to because I'm not a type of person to do that. I was more comfortable with talking about things with someone in person, so I had to talk to her ASAP.
To keep things short, a few months passed and we had been together for 5 months. During those 5 months, I waited for the right opportunity to talk to her. We had a field trip coming up so I decided to talk to her about it when we were alone. The trip went to different places but as a "reward" we went to an amusement park as our last destination before we head home (it's pretty common in school in my country to go on amusement parks as a last destination.) My exgf and I left our different friend groups to meet each other to ride the ferris wheel together. I took it as an opportunity to talk to her.
Because of me being a total idiot, i couldn't tell her or talk to her properly. She was being clingy and stuff towards me and she kept telling me she had bad day with her friends. When she told me that, I just comforted her because I didn't want to add to her having a hard time. When we got off the ferris wheel, we parted ways but friends saw me get down the ride together. they scolded me for still not breaking up with her (which was and understandable outburst)
When we were approaching to be in a relationship for 6 months, she just stopped texting me for some reason. I kept bugging her and her friends but they wouldn't respond for some reason. I told myself they were probably busy with things school related. One day, I just got tired and didn't ask her to each lunch with me. I also didn't talk to her friends as well because they started to somewhat piss me off. While I was in the cafeteria to buy a snack, I saw my exgf and her friends giggling while she took photos. I wanted to yell at her so bad but I didn't want to have a sudden emotional outburst Infront of alot of people so I ignored them. I ignored them, their texts, their calls, everything. I would just leave their texts on read and never reply. One day, I saw a long text from my exgf asking me if what she did wrong (at this point i didn't feel anything for her or her concern) and I also left her on read. 2 weeks passed it was oddly quiet. I then get a message from her but it was her "mom". I honestly didn't believe that her mom used her phone to text me to break up with her so I took it as an opportunity to actually break up. I plainly said "alright, I'll break up with your daughter" and blocked her account on all platforms where we talked. I then went to school and my exgf and her friends confronted me but I just ignored them. One day, I finally had enough and snapped. I told them to their face that the things they did were uncalled for, she didn't have to pretend to be her mom to get a reaction out of me. She or any of them should've asked for boundaries and not keep bombarding me with texts asking what they did wrong knowing full well they were doing it and tolerating it.
After I said everything to them, I simply walked off and ignored them. I then kept ignoring them until the end of the school year. I Would hear them whispering time to time but with the little care I had, I didn't bother to listen. It was probably too much to block all of them but let me know. Was I the asshole?

I want to start this out by saying I am a huge fan of Game Theory, and have been for a long time(there are old photos of a much younger me with MatPat at VidCon 2018). I think what Tom has done with the channel is incredible. That all being said, I take issue with their Indigo Park theory, more specifically their Rambley is Evil theory. I have broken my argument into 10 points:
1. The Rambley AI’s very existence: Why would Indigo create an AI out of Rambley, which functions as the primary mascot of the park, if he was getting replaced by Lloyd? That likely took a lot of effort to do, and doing it with a character you’re phasing out as your leading man would be a poor decision. The rest of this will basically be reinforcing this idea- Lloyd is not replacing Rambley, and it is in fact the other way around- Rambley is replacing Lloyd.
2. The painting in the Railroad: This painting is not depicting a friendship between Rambley and Lloyd. It is a reference to a painting found in The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh in Disneyworld. Why is this significant? The painting depicts a toad and an owl, with the toad handing the deed to the owl. These characters are Mr. Toad and Owl, from Winnie the Pooh. This is a reference to the fact that the Winnie the Pooh ride occupies the building that was previously Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, and the painting is a depiction of Toad handing the deed to the building to Owl. Comparing this painting to the painting we see in Indigo Park, Lloyd is handing the deed to Rambley- this used to be Lloyd’s ride before Rambley took his place. Rambleu replaced Lloyd. This is confirmed later in the game backstage.
3. Backstage items: There are two distinct items backstage that help prove that Rambley replaced Lloyd- a sign for Lloyd’s Limos and a bronze statue of Lloyd. The sign for Lloyd’s Limos would make sense if this was the ride that previously occupied the space that takes up Rambley’s Railway. It would be an easy enough change- swap the limos for a train, add a scene for Lloyd, and you’ve got a new ride. And while this is likely reading too far into it, the queue for the ride and the Hollywood theming surrounding Lloyd is very reminiscent of Superstar Limo, a ride at Disneyland that was a slow moving ride through vignettes that is infamous as the worst ride in Disney’s history. As for the bronze statue of Lloyd, it is backstage, where no guest would see it. This is significant because we’ve seen a similar statuel before- the Rambley statue just outside of Mane Stage. What if this section of the park used to be all for Lloyd, with a Lloyd’s limos ride that would empty out into a plaza with a statue of Lloyd and a stage show featuring Lloyd? I think this is how it used to be laid out, in a similar vein to Jetstream Junction being Mollie’s area.
4. The Throwback Lloyd Plush: It’s true that Rambley reacts by angrily wondering where his throwback is, since only Lloyd got one. However, he says the same of Mollie and Finley. This isn’t Rambley being jealous that Lloyd got picked over him, this is Rambley being upset that Lloyd, whom he dislikes, got special treatment that the others did not. It makes sense that Lloyd got this if you consider the earlier discussion wherein Lloyd was initially more popular before being supplanted by Rambley.
5. Rambley Costume: I think this is indicative of Rambley not being as popular as Lloyd(hence Lloyd being more used when the player was a kid) but eventually surging in popularity. After all, it’s safe to guess that the Rambley AI and critter cuff were fairly modern creations, and both were themed for Rambley. Mollie Macaw’s plushie on the info kiosk mentions, “when they first opened a new Mollie Meet & Greet.” This means that the park didn’t start with things like mascot costumes and meet-and-greets. Which likely means Rambley surged in popularity, and they got the Rambley Costume made just as the old costumes were being phased out. He wasn’t an old character with fading popularity, he was an old character with new found stardom.
6. The Rambley merchandise kiosk descriptions: Several collectibles found in-game are for Rambley. Rambley ears, Rambley cup, Rambleberry, Rambley Action Figure, and a Golden Rambley. Each of these items indicate that Rambley was the main figure of the park.
a. Rambley Ears- These are obviously inspired by Disneyland’s Mickey Ears, a hat styled after Mickey. The info kiosk entry for these mention DVDs for those that booked a reservation- this is also a real thing, Disney does this. The character mentions that his father promised to buy a pair when they went. Why would the character ask to get a pair of Rambley ears if Lloyd was his favorite? It’s because Lloyd didn’t have ears based on him- this merchandise was reserved for Indigo’s main man Rambley.
b. Rambley cup/Rambleberry- Similar idea as before- why would the park dedicate the collectible cup to Rambley if Lloyd was a bigger star? Similarly, Rambley’s response to the cup makes mention of “rambleberry juice” and he is very excited when you show him the Rambleberry collectible. This reminds me of Knott’s Berry Farm’s own Boysenberry(I’ve always wondered if the similarity is intentional). At Knotts Berry Farm, the Boysenberry is a minor icon in and of itself, featuring it’s own merchandise, and a juice served throughout the park. I think that it was similar at Indigo Park- the Rambleberry functioned as a minor icon on its own, and was tied to Rambley. This furthers the idea that Rambley is the main man, and replaced Lloyd.
c. Action Figure: Rambley’s action figure is called out as being new and sold in toy stores. While there’s no hard proof that Lloyd didn’t have his own, we have yet to see any of the sort.
d. Golden Rambley: Same as before- as far as we know, only Rambley got a golden plush a limited edition golden plush. And based on the dialogue in game, it was a highly desired item.
7. Game Theory is wrong about Rambley lying to the player: In the video, the theory suggests that Rambley is lying to the player, using as evidence the fact he says it’s Rambley Tuesday even though it’s a Saturday, the fact he writes off the wreck as renovations, and the fact he knew about the mascots. I think this is a mischaracterization of Rambley’s comments. I will grant that he fabricates that it’s Rambley Tuesday, however that is clearly just him trying to entice us to enter the park. As for the other two examples given, I do not think Rambley is lying to the player. For example, when he writes off the disrepair as renovations, I don’t think he’s lying to the player. He was created by Indigo Park to serve as a guide to the guests, part of which is sending them towards specific experiences ala Genie Plus(you see him do this when he directs you to Rambley’s Railroad, which introduces all the other characters). It would make sense if his programming compels him to spin things in a positive way- so he can’t admit the park is a wreck even if he sees it is, because he’s not programmed that way. As for Rambley knowing about the mascots, I don’t think he did. All Rambley says is that the “Mascots are…” and displays a deeply saddened body language we haven’t seen to that point. I think he’s telling the truth about being confined to the front- he hasn’t seen how the park really is and didn’t realize what the mascots had become. For more evidence, look at the way he reacts to Rooftop Racers being wrecked. He reacts saying that Mollie crashed into the ride and dials the repairman- he’s programmed to react to these things in-character. Mollie the Macaw as a character has a penchant for crashing into things, so it would make sense if Rambley was programmed to explain that she’s crashed into the ride whenever the ride breaks down.
8. Other details: There’s several details throughout the park that indicate Rambley is the leading man and took over Lloyd. The gift shop has Rambley faces on the floor and an entire wall of Rambley merchandise, the ferris wheel has Rambley’s face, the menu boards advertise getting your food “rambley style,” all of the trash cans bear Rambley’s iconography, and the critter cuff bears the same Rambley insignia. Rambley is EVERYWHERE, and as evidenced already, it was Rambley that replaced Lloyd.
9. He Hurts Lloyd: I don’t think the Mollie Macaw animatronic is saying this about Rambley physically harming Lloyd. I think this is the animatronic mimicking something it heard. It starts with Mollie’s catchphrase “Mollie Macaw, bird up!” before saying “Not Rambley, he hurts Lloyd.” I theorize that they gave the animatronic the ability to mimic, and at some point an employee commented that Rambley hurt’s Lloyd’s popularity- after all, the ride this animatronic is stored in used to be Lloyd’s before it was Rambley’s. This would line up with the mimicry we hear come from the living version of Mollie.

Old Character: Just as a side tangent, Rambley and the gang are all very old. I think when Finley mentions that Rambley has known him for 100 years, he’s making reference to the characters appearing in the classic cartoons mentioned in the Retro Lloyd kiosk entry.

Altogether, I thing Game Theory is on the right track with the living mascots(especially Salem’s involvement) and writing off Isaac Indigo, however I do not think that the Rambley is Evil theory is supported by the evidence. Rather, Rambley was a less popular member of the group that experienced a surge in popularity and supplanted Lloyd as the main character of the group. That's why Lloyd's signature item is a throwback, whereas Rambley's signature items are all modern.
TL;DR: The evidence in the game points towards Rambley replacing Lloyd after spending a long time in his shadow.

Jason and I have been friends for many years. We met at university and were in the same friendship group. We stayed in touch after he flew home to Canada. I always had strong feelings for Jason after we spent hours a day talking. I adored this guy - thought he was intelligent, funny, endearing and I got the feeling he felt the same way.
He invited me to visit him and I agreed as I've always wanted to check out his city. Booked my flight and airbnb and flew over.
A week in and I still haven't seen him. I asked about us meeting up and he eventually invited me out for drinks with him and his female friend I had never met before. I head to the restaurant and they're both finishing their dinner when I get there.
We're in a booth and they're sat together, I'm on the opposite side. The first hour was fine. Then things got weird. They began facing each other, flirting with each other and ignoring me. Every time I tried to signal to leave, Jason would order me another drink on his tab. But wasn't speaking to me at all. Jason then began throwing coasters and ice cubes at me randomly. I felt humiliated.
We finish up and I'm heading back to my airbnb when the girl asks me back to her apartment with them. I said yes, since Jason and I have barely spoke since I arrived. Same thing happened there. I'm ignored and then Jason starts throwing random stuff at me. I was about to leave and he asked me to come out onto the balcony with him. I did so. I told him I've been asked on a date with someone in the city and he said nothing. He suddenly full on sprinted inside and left me alone on the balcony. Seriously, what. is. happening.
I asked him when he is heading home - he said he is staying the night with her. Great.
I then leave. Jason doesn't even look up from his phone to say goodbye. I walk home alone at 2am back to my airbnb. He then messages me telling me to get home safe. I ask him if I just third wheeled and he insisted I didn't, that she's "just a friend". I asked if he wanted to meet up again, he declined saying he's too busy.
I just flew 8 hours for...that. I am actually mortified. How could he treat me with such disregard and disrespect? How could he invite his fuck buddy along to dinner with us then spend the night throwing ice cubes at me? My skin is crawling and I feel sick. What is the best way to look at this situation? Because right now I am humiliated."
To me this sounds like the guy is being abused/controlled by the girl he's seeing.

I’ve decided to rewatch every Amazing Race and rank them all.

SEASON 24 (ALL STARS) gets a 6/10

This is probably one of the most frustrating seasons! It looked like very little effort was put into the returnee cast, the route, the challenges, leg designs and even editing/storylines were inconsistent. However…it usually wasn’t boring! There was some drama (some of it a bit annoying though), there was the charm of seeing returnees (I do love the appeal of All Star seasons), and a season with Rachel Reilly is never boring! So I find it similar to the Family Edition in that it has lots of flaws but is generally entertaining enough to enjoy. So it gets a 6 because it was still enjoyable (but is obviously ranked near the bottom).

Theme

This is the 3rd returnee season (after TAR11 All Stars, TAR18 Unfinished Business and now TAR24 All Stars). An All Star season is meant to be the “best of the best” and this season consisted of returnees from TAR18-TAR23 only as well as some 3-time players. Also no winners and some early boots, so it actually feels more like Unfinished Business 2 rather than All Stars 2. I love returnee seasons and seeing entertaining past players interact and you feel invested in them in episode 1 (most seasons take a few episodes to become invested in the cast). However it was the weakest Amazing Race returnee cast by far.
Now to judge the returnee cast. Out of the 2-time players, you had 4 fantastic choices (Natalie/Nadiya, Leo/Jamal, BoppeMark, Brendan/Rachel) and 4 terrible choices (Dave/Connor, John/Jessica, Joey/Meghan, Caroline/Jennifer, all from TAR22 haha). Dave/Connor more suited an Unfinished Business season. I wouldn’t even mind if they just slotted Dave/Connor into a regular season with 10 other newbie teams like Bruce in Survivor 45 (rather than wasting a precious All Stars slot). They’re nothing special - they just raced 4 legs and got medevaced so they wouldn’t be too out of place on a regular season. I even said Eric/Danielle from TAR11 could have raced on a regular season too. Not using an Express Pass (John/Jessica) is NOT a reason to be on All Stars (also not that interesting), Joey/Meghan were only back because of their YouTube fame (also not that interesting), and Caroline/Jennifer are there for the hot girl team quota (and AGAIN not that interesting). The main criteria should be ENTERTAINMENT and these 4 were NOT.
Out of the 3-time players, Jet/Cord were a good choice being such a fan favourite (despite being very overrated), Margie/Luke are always a fascinating team to watch so they were fine, but Flight Time/Big Easy weren’t needed for a 3rd time. They were fine in TAR15 but were just okay in TAR18 so I don’t see anything new they could bring really. So many better 3-time choices. And lastly you have the Mark/Mallory hybrid which I’m actually not too negative on (Mallory is also a 3-timer). Ideally they should have put on an alternate team when Bopper couldn’t race but I think Mark/Mallory had potential for entertainment and a fascinating storyline. Very different from Eric/Danielle’s situation because Mark AND Mallory were both popular characters.
I personally don’t mind 3-timers if it will improve the cast but I know many fans would prefer to stick with just 2-time players for fairness. But I don’t believe any combination of 2-timers would have made this a good cast, with fans suggesting Andy/Tommy, Jaymes/James, Pam/Winnie, Max/Katie, Abbie/Ryan etc. Let’s be honest - these teams would not have dramatically improved the quality of the cast! They should have either waited a few seasons or just go all out and try to replicate Survivor Heroes vs Villains (regarded as one of the best All Star seasons of Reality TV) - it had winners, lots of 3-timers, classic players and no weak links in the cast. While I believe TAR24 was too soon for an All Stars, Survivor Heroes vs Villains was also “too soon” (only 4 seasons after Fans vs Favorites) but good casting made it a legendary season. 3-timers and winners are not necessarily a bad thing!
So this is who I would have picked (I believe just go all out and get the biggest stars and characters possible) = I would have only picked 4 teams from TAR19-TAR23 (Brendan/Rachel, Natalie/Nadiya, BoppeMark, Leo/Jamal). While Bopper would still have gotten sick, I would have picked another team to replace them rather than Mark/Mallory (maybe Bill/Cathi - arguably the best older team). I would then pick four 3-timers (Jet/Cord, Margie/Luke, Charla/Mirna, Rob/Amber). I would then fill the remaining slots with winners because it would be nice to have the equivalent of a Sandra or Tony from Survivor (2-time winner) - either Rob/Brennan, Chip/Kim, Nat/Kat, Rachel/Dave (if still together), Ernie/Cindy or Nick/Starr. Some other good choices (if the teams above decline) would be Colin/Christie, Eric/Jeremy, Oswald/Danny, Joe/Bill, Dustin/Kandice, Kynt/Vyxsin, Zev/Justin or any winners. Also Brook/Claire and Tim/Marie but they declined and could have considered Amani/Marcus who also declined.

General Thoughts

This season didn’t have many boring sections but felt like an unsatisfying mess. The choice of returnees was frustrating and then you had 2 of the “underwhelming choices” be the top 2, Natalie/Nadiya going 1st was a huge loss, Mark/Mallory damaging the reputations was disappointing (but good TV), the 3-timers didn’t do much this time and then mixed with the poor route and challenges. The Accidental Alliance vs The Brenchels was a big storyline at the end and while that drama was “better than nothing”, it also came across as annoying (similar to Brandy vs Caite in TAR16). I like returnee seasons, and I believe this would rank lower if they were all new teams. For example I enjoyed watching John/Jessica, Margie/Luke and Flight Time/Big Easy because I knew their history, but would be boring if I didn’t know their backstories.
The editing and storylines also seemed off. You had multiple teams together at the Spanish steps challenge and then a foot race to the pit stop yet it didn’t feel as tense as it should have been. They also had Brendan/Rachel almost missing a flight in leg 5 as well as a train in leg 6 and they both lacked suspense (editing is the issue). Also while I liked Brendan/Rachel this season, their storyline was all over the place. Rachel started as wanting to redeem herself with a few positive moments (not stressing, helping Luke) but then later became hated by every team and had some meltdowns. The redemption storyline was just dropped. The same thing with Dave/Connor who were meant to be super sweet but the editing made them annoying and self righteous. Even the Accidental Alliance drama seemed to be dropped at the end where Brendan/Rachel were interacting with the other teams like nothing happened. This is also the first season to cut the intro for several episodes. So mostly entertaining but some unsatisfying storylines and editing choices.
Dave/Connor are 2 of the more unique winners, as opposed to the “dull” Jason/Amy and Bates/Anthony type winners. The first parent/child winners, the oldest individual to win, and had a great story of being medevaced the first time and returning to win. Some find them likeable, some find them annoying, but I prefer them to a team we don’t care about at all. I probably would have preferred a Leo/Jamal win or the craziness of a Brendan/Rachel win…but it was an okay result but not great.

Route

This season had a terrible route! No new countries (besides 1 task in Wales), only 3 continents, lots of double legs in 1 country (first 8 legs were 2 legs in China, 2 legs in Malaysia, 2 legs in Sri Lanka, 2 legs in Italy) and lots of simple city legs that look like post-Covid routes (Leg 2 for example looked like it only took teams less than 2 hours to complete and the pit stop was like 20 mins away from the previous one). Apparently a lot of legs were designed last minute which I understand. Besides the Family Edition, I think TAR21’s route was worse though because TAR24 had slightly more iconic sites (Canton Tower, Petronus Towers, Coliseum and Spanish steps, Mount Titlus, first visit to Wales, Las Vegas strip) and a bit of a variety with snow, rainforests, cities etc. Terrible starting line at that college - a starting line isn’t a huge deal but it does get you hyped when it’s at an epic location (like next season’s Times Square).
A lot of the challenges were also very cheap looking and simple for an All Stars. Challenges like operating a remote controlled chariot and shaving a balloon look very underwhelming. Not many challenges stood out besides pouring the drinks/DJ Detour (a fantastic Detour) and remembering the Welsh poem. They should have just resorted to Switchbacks of classic destinations and challenges as that would suit an All Star season. And some odd choices in regards to predetermined flights (lots of sign-ups for flights rather than flight searching) and Dave/Connor’s 5-8 Road Block distribution didn’t make sense.
This season basically had the same format as the last few seasons which I don’t mind. It brought back the twist where the winner of the Express Pass gives a 2nd one to another team. It was unique this season because for the first time a team gave away the Express Pass at a challenge and basically “burnt it”. Besides that, this season also had 2 Double U-Turns and Speed Bumps. No Fast Forwards which is a shame because I think it adds something slightly interesting to those episodes. Only the 3rd season to not have a Fast Forward.

Cast Ranking
1.Brendan/Rachel - they carried this season! Rachel started out as not wanting to be her old emotional self and was a lot less whinier than TAR20 (although I preferred her meltdowns honestly haha). She had a “heroic” edit where she prayed rather than getting stressed out - also supported Luke at the cocktails challenge and helped Brendan get through the plate spinning. However they are also responsible for the biggest drama of the season - U-Turning Dave/Connor and the “We hate the Brenchels” storyline. Once again Rachel has most of the cast hating her…and I love it! Rachel then reverted back to her old crying self in the last 3 legs with meltdowns at the bulls, crying at the Wellington toss and picking fights in the finale. So still crazy, still got her sequins, fell over a few times haha, bizarre lines (saying “I want to win to get a baby” over and over haha) and provided the drama and laughs that this season needed.

Dave/Connor - the rivals of the Brenchels and made the next biggest impact! They seemed very sweet and relatable like at the disco “We’re just 2 Mormon boys from Salt Lake City” haha and I liked their sweet bond with Caroline/Jennifer where they let them step on the mat in front of them. But they also feel annoying and entitled. Dave mentioned his achilles A LOT, Dave complained about his age A LOT ("Yeah outrunning an old man", “U-Turning a 60 year old man” and “This is a young person’s game”), complained about Brenchels A LOT and they seemed very self righteous over the U-Turn. Their involvement in the Accidental Alliance came across as childish rather than noble, “That snotty woman! She’s scary looking!” So I'm not sure if they were meant to be likeable or not - they sort of sucked a lot of the fun out of the season honestly. But a decent redemption for them and they made a decent impact and got us talking.
Leo/Jamal - still fun and likeable with some sneaky moments but more toned down than last time. A few cheeky moments like “We love you Connor, we love you Connor” when he finished the sewing (hoping for help), but then “I’m kidding, I don’t” after they left. Strategic again like when they wanted to lie to Jet/Cord at one stage but didn’t because they wanted to avoid the U-Turn this time. Made the smart decision rather than the emotional one when U-Turning the threats Jet/Cord. Unfortunately finished in 4th place again.
Jet/Cord - the cowboys are “back in the saddle”! Another likeable team but I found Leo/Jamal more interesting. They were “threats” again, “We’re like butter, we’re on a roll” when coming in 1st haha and also worked alone again “We’re used to being the lone rangers”. I sort of liked how they didn’t join in on the Brenchel drama. Still find them a bit overrated but I know a lot of viewers enjoyed seeing them again.
Caroline/Jennifer - were the sweethearts and underdogs who weren’t great racers but slid by each week (and saved by 2 non-eliminations). I thought they were likeable enough, “Who would u-turn Dave/Connor, they’re the sweetest guys…and have great hair” haha Were proud of their flirting again and used it to get an Express Pass off Jet/Cord…and were helped multiple times by Leo/Jamal and Dave/Connor. You don’t need to be a strong “girl power” team…the underdogs who get through by flirting are just as interesting haha But weren’t that great TV honestly….like last time.
Mark/Mallory - a fascinating dynamic even though most fans didn’t like this hybrid. In a way it did damage the reputation of 2 fan favorites (Mark/Bopper and Gary/Mallory) because they were very negative to one another (Mark refusing to race without the backpack despite having everything he needed, and Mallory seemed uncaring and not taking responsibility) but I enjoyed their drama. I liked how Mallory joked about losing their passport on leg 1…and the foreshadowing. I prefer their messy dynamic rather than them just being nice and boring for 2 legs.
Natalie/Nadiya - screamed at eachother through the whole 1st episode and I loved every minute they were on screen “It’s in Asian, I can’t read it!” haha They were such a hot mess in their 1 episode and possibly my favourite first boots! This season would have been so much better if we saw them involved in the Brenchel drama later, and I would have loved to see some more crazy moments and seeing them get to visit Sri Lanka.
Margie/Luke - the last 4 didn’t really contribute much this season. These 2 are ahead because I always enjoy watching their dynamic with their sweet bond and occasional bickering (nothing bad, just normal healthy struggles). Luke’s sexuality was finally brought up (a nice scene where Luke explains his coming out to Margie) and I liked Margie saying that when Luke pulls her this time, he has to be gentler because she’s older haha Felt very likeable this time, like when they were reflecting on the train ride in Sri Lanka.
Flight Time/Big Easy - they were fine but didn’t do much this season. They had a nice moment dancing with the locals in Borneo, joking about the Beekmans winning with roller bags, and talking to their wooden donkey when they couldn’t work out what they did wrong. So ultimately a few more fun moments than the 2 ranked below them. Didn’t feel like they wanted to be there as much as previous seasons.
John/Jessica - didn’t do much this time. They were at the centre of lots of storylines in TAR22 but I think that was just “lucky circumstances” rather than them being big characters. They were just a generic nice couple here. It was nice though seeing Joey/Meghan and John/Jessica helping each other again like last time (and Brendan/Rachel having a random final 3 alliance with them haha). Their only moment here was them working with other teams thinking Caroline/Jennifer were behind them, and losing a footrace.
Joey/Meghan - Also didn’t do much and the only difference is John/Jessica made it further. Joey just played up to the cameras like last time (screeching “White is not my color” at the wedding dresses) but they were still likeable enough. Their only storyline was Meaghan helping John despite the 2 of them being in last place. So not the smartest move but nice that they still have that friendship.

1.Leg 8 - Italy (F6 - Flight Time/Big Easy eliminated) - the most entertaining episode of the season! So much drama going on between all teams and great scenery. Brendan/Rachel U-Turning Dave/Connor…with Dave’s irrational hatred for the rest of the leg plus Brendan/Rachel disagreeing over who to U-Turn. Then Dave/Connor helping Leo/Jamal (despite U-Turning them too and calling it a “blessed u-turn” haha). Decent challenges - racing donkeys (teams falling off especially Rachel, and the donkey struggling with Big Easy haha), building a wooden donkey (teams not using the box as part of it, many switches) and writing the Ancient manuscript (dull but some teams still struggled and was made better with Dave not accepting an apology and later mocking Brendan/Rachel). Rachel was hilarious “They can’t get me in a place of worship” haha Also had Dave/Connor and Caroline/Jennifer working together (with Dave/Connor accidentally losing them just like Bates/Anthony did) and just a good mix of fun and drama! Not for everyone, but I liked it.

Leg 4 - Malaysia (F8 - Non elimination) - fantastic, especially the Kuala Lumpur section at the end. The beginning in Kota Kinabalu had the trampoline challenge which had Jessica struggling and injuring her foot and Rachel having to take off her pantyhose because she was slipping haha But Kuala Lumpur had the Petronus Towers and Batu Caves, a night leg plus a fantastic Detour (if you ignore that it was impossible for Luke to do the DJ routine). Pouring the cocktails and the DJ routine had lots of teams struggling with placement shifts from the flights (one of my favorite Detours). Luke has a meltdown and smashes the glasses (Margie yelling like a mother to pick them up haha) and Rachel of all people calms him down. 3 hours later Brendan/Rachel pray and have a very positive edit and music (and don’t accept Margie/Luke’s offer for both to take a penalty) and a great ending between these 2. Loved the music and close up of Rachel’s cross haha Would be the best leg of the season if the whole leg was in Kuala Lumpur.
Leg 2 - China (F10 - Mark/Mallory eliminated) - it looked like a cheap Covid leg but pretty exciting overall. Some great drama with Mallory forgetting Mark’s bag and arguing about going back for it, “People from Kentucky don’t act this way” and Mark being like “I don’t have much and I mean nothing to her”. A trainwreck but can’t stop watching! Jet/Cord walk for a long time and lose their 1st place lead and some okay navigation drama at the start. Building the toy car at “Chuck e Cheese on steroids” was fun - a little girl annoying Flight Time, Meghan helping her ally John (despite being last), and especially Caroline struggling and Jen managing to get the Express Pass off Jet/Cord, “I knew I’d get it off him” hehe. The featherball was also fun with all teams so close together, and Mark/Mallory just not working well together at all. No team chose the massage, and I don’t mind watching teams in pain haha but I prefer skill based challenges so I don’t mind. 7 teams then check in together at the pit stop together. Very fun and fast paced!
Leg 11 - England/Wales (F4 - Leo/Jamal eliminated) - was decent and felt competitive enough but not as top tier as past final 4’s - mediocre tasks for a final 4 elimination and not many storylines but not too dull. Soccer task was ok but nothing special, shooting the clay pigeons/tossing wellingtons was terrible (still felt tense though at the end…and I guess it made Rachel crack), but I really enjoyed remembering the Welsh poem on the aqueduct (good scenery, cultural and challenging). The costumes and castle looked nice - “we’re in Downton Abbey” and Rachel finally has a TAR20 type meltdown when she picks the wrong size shoe and cries like a child (the foreshadowing at the start when Rachel says “I’m proud that I haven’t freaked out yet”). Placement shifts, self driving, Rachel meltdowns are always a positive for me, and actually had a strange positive edit where the final 4 were getting along. So still enjoyable overall and a sad ending for Leo/Jamal. Just needed a few better challenges, especially the Detour at the end.
Leg 7 - Italy (F7 - John/Jessica eliminated) - a good enough leg but would rank higher if it had bigger moments or storylines. It had the Coliseum, many teams together at the final puzzle (Roman Numerals) which is always a plus (Flight Time hilariously having no clue how to do it, Rachel not helping teams, and Leo/Jamal strategically helping last place teams)…and a foot race for last with teams thinking Caroline/Jennifer were behind. However the challenges were embarrassingly bad - remote controlled chariots seemed so silly and out of place (feels very inauthentic to the Ancient Roman theme), the gladiator routine was silly, and counting the Spanish steps wasn’t that hard as long as a local could tell you the Roman Numerals. Finding the site of the “unhappy Roman holiday” had some difficulties, Rachel thinking the “eternal city” is Ethiopia for some reason haha and while the detours were silly, they had some funny struggles with Leo “I watched all 4 seasons of Spartacus”. And of course a very close finish!
Leg 9 - Switzerland (F5 - Non elimination) - challenges were okay and nice Swiss scenery…but very big on the “We hate Brenchels” drama! I don’t mind it but can understand why some may find it annoying this episode. The “Accidental Alliance” is created on the train with teams mocking Rachel’s “I want to race around the world with my best friend” haha. And celebrate getting to clueboxes before Brendan/Rachel, helping one another “their family” and also complaining about them A LOT! Cleaning the room was okay as an attention to detail task and Jet was like “Now my wife knows I can clean”, and Helga “Figure it out!” was a great judge! Working out that the object is a drillbit for a tunnel plus the Mustang Puzzle were nice simple tasks - Rachel thinking it’s a wheel haha and Dave/Connor giving their allies answers. Delivering the milk through the snow at the end was a bit dull besides Brendan writing “TAR24 WINNERS BRENCHEL” on the gondola haha So just an okay leg but depends whether you like the “We hate the Brenchels” storyline.
Leg 6 - Sri Lanka (F7 - Non elimination) - another “okay” leg. Started strong with the tuk tuk Road Block - Rachel was fantastic screaming “GREEN GREEN GREEN” but her colours being wrong (her ally John eventually helps her). Lots of fun chaos with everyone manhandling tuk tuks “I was booty bumping rickshaws out of the way” haha But then there’s a train equaliser and delivering logs with an elephant/make paper from elephant dung was boring (and arguably animal cruelty making the elephant do that). “You’re only as fast as your big fat elephant”. They’re okay cultural tasks but not that difficult or interesting besides a few bubbles when making the paper. Nothing much happens besides some foot races - Jet/Cord vs Leo/Jamal “It’s Indians vs. Cowboys! And the Indians are WINNING!” haha and also Dave whining that John/Jessica outrun him “Yeah beat the old man”. The tuk tuk segment was a highlight of this season and it’s unfortunate that there was an equaliser and that the 2nd half dragged.
Leg 10 - Spain (F5 - Jet/Cord eliminated) - felt like a bit of a cheap and underwhelming final 5 elimination leg with some really silly challenges - shaving a balloon and running with bull costumes. A bit of the Brenchel drama (Dave saying the U-Turn was “kind of inappropriate” when it really wasn’t haha and “Dave/Connor are the sweetest guys on the planet”). Leo/Jamal decide to U-Turn Jet/Cord instead of Brendan/Rachel…but not that interesting “There’s only room for two cowboys on this race and it’s Leo and Jamal! Yeehaw!” Haha Shaving the balloon was terrible, nothing much from the flamenco dance, delivering the hams was a boring and generic Speed Bump, and the bull costumes were silly but at least had some fun moments - Rachel was hilarious as always getting knocked around like crazy saying the bulls were ”bullies”, Dave complaining “I’m an old matador”, Jet/Cord missing parts of the phrase, plus Jamal’s knee injury. It wasn’t necessarily too boring which is why it isn’t ranked lower.
Leg 1 - China (F11 - Natalie/Nadiya eliminated) - was terribly designed! The challenges were finding the Chinese symbols on the band members (very quick and forgettable starting line task), finding wedding dresses (had an okay navigational element and the only decent task), the Canton Tower bubbles (luck based and terrible) and summersaults (terrible, impossible to fail, too tame of a height challenge for All Stars, Caroline “Flight Time looks like a sexy piece of spinning meat”). Natalie/Nadiya were fantastic entertainment and saved this episode from being terrible by yelling “YOU IDIOT” and “I TOLD YOU” over and over (and even argue over who is doing the Road Block). “Those are Chinese flags, not race flags you lunatic!” It also had Bopper’s medevac which was a dramatic start and it’s nice seeing all the returnees bantering with one another (Brenchel army at the airport and Natalie/Nadiya joking about Rachel’s crying). But not much content besides Twinnie craziness, Jet/Cord dominating, and teams struggling to find the wedding dresses.
Leg 12 - USA (F3 - Finale) - for a finale, let alone the All Stars finale, the challenges were too easy - digging for a chest (boring), David Copperfield routine (impossible to fail and only designed to show off David Copperfield), putting lightbulbs in the Mirage sign (not challenging and only designed to show off Las Vegas) and looking for the neon sign in the helicopteskydive (didn’t look that hard to find). Very unsatisfying. But it wasn’t too boring with some minor drama with Brendan/Rachel and Caroline/Jennifer having a fight at customs (not caught on camera so just explained through talking) and there’s some arguing while digging for the chest (throwing sand in each other’s holes). Plus Brendan screaming at a taxi “We’re in a race so we can have a baby” haha plus Brendan/Rachel lost in a hotel that Rachel once worked at. And to be fair, it was very close between Dave/Connor and Caroline/Jennifer - sprinting to the final clue and waiting to see who skydived first. And a night leg in Las Vegas was a great idea…just terribly designed!
Leg 5 - Sri Lanka (F8 - Margie/Luke eliminated) - unfortunately a dull leg because Margie/Luke were an obvious elimination. It did have some great airport scrambles which is always welcome in the modern era (Brendan/Rachel taking a risk on a short connection and Margie/Luke failing to get on standby). Sewing the t-shirt had potential to be a tough interesting challenge…but needed to have all teams together. Several teams struggled, teams worked together (Jessica and Brendan, as well as Connor helping a struggling Jennifer) and Big Easy really struggled “If I have to sew something I’ll just ask my fiancé or my mother…or just buy something new” haha and Flight Time just shows off his basketball skills. The fishing had to be one of the dullest challenges ever and balancing the plates wasn’t much better (although Rachel is the one telling Brendan to calm down here). Printing the t-shirts was also a boring Speed Bump. Margie/Luke are way behind and have a nice scene enjoying the Sri Lankan train ride, but not much excitement.
Leg 3 - Malaysia (F9 - Joey/Meghan eliminated) - was terribly designed - boring challenges (repelling down a waterfall, delivering goods, blowdart) and separating the flights by 3 hours just didn’t make sense as there was little drama for the top 6…and then 3 teams far behind. And flight scrambles are always better than sign-ups. The top 6 just went through three tasks robotically, and even the bottom 3 had little drama or stress. I guess there was a bit of a storyline about the Brenchel army being the bottom 3 and facing the fact one of the friends will go. But Joey/Meghan are obvious boots after struggling to find a taxi. The only interesting parts were the rafts falling apart in the rapids and Rachel repelling in her underwear so her sequins don’t get wet “God forbid she lose some sequins along the way” haha The promos really hyped up the dangerous rapids and they were fine for that short segment but no drama came from them in the episode.

Summary
Not a great season but I feel gets unfair hate (just like the Family Edition which also had bad leg designs, bad route, drama that some found annoying). I don’t think it was terrible as most legs had things happening that made each one interesting enough. Everyone vs Brenchels was similar to Everyone vs Weavers (had some interesting aspects, better than nothing, but was a bit annoying at times). The cast, route and challenges were unsatisfying but entertainment is most important to me and this season was usually not boring. TAR8 and TAR24 had similar weaknesses/frustrations so I’m ranking them together. I enjoyed TAR24 slightly more but I could see TAR24 getting a 5 or less if it wasn’t a returnee season, as it had some similarities to TAR16 (many teams were compelling because of their history rather than things they did on this season).

I posted this elsewhere, but I might get some valuable info from you guys. My F friend seems to na an INFJ, and i am an M INTP.
Some context first. We're in our late 30s (I'm a guy, btw) and have been close friends for years. Our friendship endured our relationships and moving to other cities. We often see each other, go places, watch concerts, eat out and do stuff we like tofether. Due to distance between us, each opportunity we see each other is that much more special, and I try to make the most of them. And I admit, she does have a special place in my heart as my dearest friend. One of the rare people I dare to be vulnerable to. Maybe even the only one. For a while now I've developed some emotions for her, but decided not to ruin what is the best relationship in my life, besides the one I'm nurturing with my child. As a friend she is a dream come true, and I might be one if those rare guys that cherishes it. The two of us had a heart to heart, and we laid out how we felt about each other. It was really cathartic. We both value friendships, even more than romantic interests, to some extent. The trigger for that was me showing my weakness in one of the situations. She had been dating this guy for a couple of months, and I've never net him. I usually visit her when there is a show in town we're interested in, or for business related reasons. And pretty often I extend my stay so we can do stuff together when the stars align. As I mentioned, we've dated people, but it has never got in the way of our friendship. Both of us are very similar, we value our autonomy, and our partners should value that too. There's never been issues with our partners. So a couple of mobths ago, there was this show where we had wanted to go for months, an artist we really love. When we saw them last time, we bonded in a way. Her drunken innocent kiss then was one of the nicest moments I've ever experienced. A moment of sincerity and happiness, forever carved into the fabric of my being. So we planned it for months, reminding each other how awesome it would be from time to time. And a couple of days before the show, when it was time to seal my visit plan, she suggests to bring her bf along. This is where I showed my weakness. I told them to have fun there, as I didn't want to be the third wheel there. I literally felt the fabric of my being tearing apart. The same feeling I had when my parent died and when other huge lossed happened. I just couldn't process the thought of anyone else wrecking the invaluable time that we share together, the time that I cherish so much. It means that much to me, that I was selfish to cave in. And I laid it all out to her. If we lived closer, I would have met the guy, as there would be more opportunities. Opportunities that wouldn't carry the weight my usual time with her has for me. My time with her is just sacred, and that might be my problem. She understood, we skipped that show, but everything went on as usual. That was one of the triggers for us to lay out the value of our friendship to each other. And usually, we contact each other often, and talk about all kinds of stuff, from superficial to deep. She's a very thoughtful person, that's one of my favorite things about her. But lately, she is very slow and inconsistent to respond. And in a weird way. She is engaged in our conversations (for instance, it takes some effort to send a pic of your meal, which is what she sometimes does), but recently, it takes hours, sometimes even a couple of days, to reply and conclude eveb the most trivial topic. I am not sure what happened, and if she is doing this intentionally or not. I'm fine with the frequency of our communication shifting - we have our lives and stuff - but making such a drastic shift in our dynamics without letting me know what's up baffles me. As mentioned, she is one of the most thoughtful people I know, and this doesn't suit her. From the stuff she's been saying recently, I might jump tona conclusion that she's making an effort to not be on her phone that much, start excercising, reading, and stuff. But still, I am very concerned. Do you think she is pulling away, and if so, why? Pretty soon Im planning to check that for myself with her.

This is a comprehensive list of what I believe to be the most needed quality of life improvements for the players that still maintains the developers intended gameplay balance. If anyone has ideas of things to add, remove, or change to this list, sound off in the comments. I am not affiliated with Game Loft in any way and have no sway over their decisions, but maybe we can all make our voices heard and let them know what we want moving forward (after the latest bugs and crashes are fixed of course).
General Gameplay

Not requiring villagers to be in your current area (valley/isle) in order to get their profession bonus
Increase the surface area of tables (4 square tables shouldn't have a 1 square tabletop considering that the top is the widest part of most tables)
No more limit on how many mannequins can be placed in a single room and the ability to place them outside
Add a recycle function for all crafted items that costs dreamlight/star coins and gives you all your resources back, or is free but only partially refunds resources.
Critter and villager schedules should be tied to an in game clock so people with fixed schedules don't lose access to certain characters/critters
Every week should have a new quest that can earn you a furniture/wardrobe item so people who can't afford moonstones have a reason to log on every week (and give people who have finished all the quests ways to continue interacting with the villagers)
Add a job board that allows you to assign villagers to gather one selected resource for you related to their profession (1 villager at a time per profession, the more valuable the resource you choose the longer it takes to generate it, can only gather up to a certain amount that depends on item value, can only gather resources related to their profession, and the items won't count toward your duties)
Add a friendship level to all unlocked critter companions that can be increased by equipping, petting, playing with(with the play wheel or other critter toys), and feeding them (with food bowls). The levels of this friendship will unlock new features like the ability to gather items around you (as long as they are still highlighted blue), and place/pose them for all stances in photo mode (not just the critter stance); this would also apply to critters in companion homes, not just ones equipped in the wardrobe menu
If a player is in range to interact with anything that isn't their critter, prioritize that over petting their critter
All furniture with an animation should cycle indefinitely until toggled off by the player (especially fireworks)
Give Daisy's challenges the same reset schedule as Scrooges shop instead of a 24 hour timer
Allow feeding critters to count towards dreamlight duties even if you have already fed them that day
No repeat memories.
Alternative to no repeat memories is to have the repeats go into your inventory so that you can trade them with other players to help each other complete them
You shouldn't be able to get nothing or a trivial amount of star coins from digging. Every time you dig you should get 1-3 resources or a small chance for a chest
Add an option to switch off bonuses in the bonus menu (ex. you want to fish from white ripples or mine a gem vein when you're saving your pickaxe charges for stone or iron)
Add an FOV (Field of view) Slider in the options menu
Allow us to visually change the weather like the time of day (ex. make it rain without watering our crops for free or being able to catch fugu) and add a weather icon in the HUD so we know when it's actually raining even if we have rain turned off or fake rain turned on (HUD is only changed if we have manually changed the weather visuals)
Allow skin color to be applied individually to our male and female avatars like every other aesthetic aspect in the wardrobe section
Allow us to remove villager houses from the valley or make the valley bigger by expanding biomes or adding new ones. It has to happen eventually because you can't have infinite growth in a finite world (you would still have to place their house somewhere if you wanted to spawn them in to hang out or do their quests)
Alternatively you could add a hotel run by some Disney/Pixar character (My vote is Snow White as the owner with the 7 dwarves as staff). You can upgrade the hotel to increase its capacity up to 10-20 rooms. You would then be allowed to remove up to that many houses, moving the occupants to the hotel. But you would first need to do a quest for every household that requires you to decorate a hotel room themed towards the house. You would be required to meet tag requirements that match the house such as traits that it has and the Disney universe it's from so the occupants feel at home (similar to Daisy's boutique challenge) IDEA CREDIT GOES TO USER - Euraylie

Save makeup to a mannequin along with clothes when editing it so we don't have to manually change our makeup every time we change our outfit
Allow us to visually change large chests into other storage items we have unlocked, including TOM items (to allow players to make more creative and aesthetically pleasing storage areas)
Stop making non quest items unsellable. They take up valuable space in your storage (ex. night shards, training manuals, etc.)
Pathing fill button. Much like how we can hold a button to delete all connected pathing, we should be able to make a pathing outline and hold a button while selecting one of the outer pathing to completely fill the inner area
Make smart transfer completely fill all stacks inside storage while leaving the remainder in your inventory (ex. don't leave a stack of 50 of an item in your inventory just because the storage can only hold 20 more. Put 20 in and leave 30 so we don't have to manually split the stack every time)
Add a smart withdraw button so that you can transfer all items from storage that are already in your inventory
Allow pathing to be placed 1 square at a time to allow closer placement to the edges of biomes and bodies of water
Make craftable hedges that can be placed and extended like fences for custom sizing. Adding harvestable leaves that change with the real life seasons (Light green & flowery - spring, dark green - summer, Red/Yellow/Orange - autumn, snowy pine needles - winter) that can be used to craft the hedges along with wood and soil IDEA CREDIT GOES TO USER - Literary_Lady

Add a buyback function to Goofy's stall that allows you to buy back anything you may have sold accidentally within a certain time or item amount window

Add submenus for colors and patterns so you don't have a bunch of retextures clogging up your wardrobe and furniture menus (ex. You click on foodie loafers in your shoes and then a dropdown menu appears where you pick the color you want)
Add sort functions (alphabetical, newest, oldest, etc.) and search baalphabetical section index (the side bar with the clickable letters that bring you to that letter) for all shop/furniture/wardrobe/cooking/crafting menus IDEA CREDIT GOES TO USER - NotSoEvilQueen for the section index
Add furniture categories (ex. lighting, decor, etc.) for the furniture section of the crafting bench
Show all tags for selected items regardless of whether or not you are in the dreamsnap category (this includes scrooges shop and crafting menu)
Have all selected filter tags sorted the same way the dreamsnap section is (items with the most matching tags at top and fewest at the bottom instead of only items that match all selected tags)
Add 2 item counts for selected items in the crafting bench menu (1 for items in your inventory/storage and 1 for items placed in your valley) so you know how many items you already have before making more
Reset the crafting menu to the item you just crafted after crafting instead of auto scrolling back to the top
All items that show up as pathing and fences in your furniture menu should also show up in that category at a crafting table (ex. bumblestone fences, zircon tiles, etc.)
Have the back button hide the currently selected item in the shop and crafting menus instead of taking us out of the menu entirely (the only way to get rid of the item window is to click it again)
Add a dropdown menu for all trees and underbrush that have multiple variations so you can actually select which one you want to place
Add a menu for selecting which memory to put on a frame/TV to replace the repetetive toggle
Add a button that you can press in furniture mode while your cursor is over an item that takes you to the item in your inventory so you can quickly add copies of an item you've already placed
If the player has multiple of whatever furniture item they are placing, let them place multiple instead of automatically bringing them back to the furniture menu every time they place any item
Add a category in the furniture menu for usable items (ex. stoves, crafting benches, ancient machines, etc.)

Cooking

Add a section for restaurant orders in the cooking menu (only available when cooking in Chez Remy)
Add an option to turn off cooking/meal animations to make cooking faster
Allow us to select recipes from our history so we can autofill multiple copies of a dish with specific ingredients we've already used without having to manually select specific ingredients every time
Add a toggle near the autofill button to use the most valuable non specified ingredients instead of the least valuable when auto filling (when cooking with the purpose of selling)
Add an item counter so you know how many of a particular meal you already have in your inventory/storage before you make it
Widen the cooking pot so that some of the longer food items don't get stuck at the top of the pot if dropped directly into the center (PC only)
Classify almonds as dairy/oil like peanuts are instead of as a fruit
Organize the "all meals" tab alphbetically (there are already tabs for each meal type, so the "all meals" tab doesn't need to be organized by meal type as well) IDEA CREDIT GOES TO USER - NotSoEvilQueen

Touch of Magic

Every "Basic" item should have its own 50-100 TOM limit instead of having 50 for wardrobe and for furniture respectively. When entering the customize menu, you then have to select one of the basic items which takes you to a submenu where you can choose from your designs or a plus icon that you can select to create a new design for that particular item
Remove the limit to how small and increase the limit of how large you can scale motifs
Add the ability to scale length and width of motifs separately
Remove the layer limit in TOM or at least increase it to 100
Allow you to purchase TOM furniture from Scrooge with star coins, or make them craftable with resources, after you have purchased them from Daisy
Add sign posts/billboards to daisy's shop
Allow us to display multiple TOM items on a single mannequin. Or at least put generic clothes on the uncovered areas so I don't have a pantsless guy advertising my shirts

Add a dialogue option to any character (must be level 10 friendship with completed main friendship questline) you're hanging out with to get them to stand still and stop following you. Then when they are in this mode you can talk to them again to return them to normal function or select one of their poses or animations. Because they are also considered as no longer following you, you can do this with multiple characters to set up intricate dreamsnap scenarios
Illumination radius for all lighting fixtures should be increased to make night shots more viable (and to generally improve the night time atmosphere)
Allow players to hold tools in pictures (give people an incentive to purchase tools from premium shop)
Have all TOM items disappear when you are in photo mode so they don't disqualify your dreamsnap attempt if you're not aware they're in frame
Alternatively just allow TOM in dreamsnaps. If you can share them in Daisy's shop, why not in dreamsnaps
Add a quest from Vanellope that gives you access to a virtual valley. You access it through a portal or computer and it brings you to an empty valley (no furniture, buildings, trees, etc.) so that you can set up outdoor dreamsnaps in it without destroying sections of your valley just to have to rebuild them again. You can't get resources in this valley and it resets every week for the new dreamsnap. All furniture is returned to your inventory, but any inventory items you may have placed would remain (all items placed on tables would be moved to the ground). There would also be an extra category in the furniture menu for spawning virtual villagers (only up to 1 of each villager you have unlocked)
Get rid of outfit challenges. Having tag requirements for your outfit makes it difficult to craft an outfit that looks good and fits the theme for the week. Plus everybody already puts together an outfit to match the decor challenge and most people add decor to match the outfit challenge anyway. Just have tags for decor and outfits both apply to the current challenge
Game Loft needs to be clear on exactly how tags and votes affect our score so we know how much we need to prioritize having a lot of tags over making a bettecleaner image to garner votes with.
Increase the voting moonstones to 10-25 a day instead of 50 a week to incentivize more voting and daily log ins
Add a 10-15 second timer to votes so people don't just vote randomly and actually have a reason to analyze each photo (would also benefit complex submissions that aren't easy to digest in 1 second and reward players for putting in more effort)
Prevent NPC dialogue boxes from opening up while you're in photo mode
Add a toggle when riding attractions to make them visible/invisible in photo mode
Remove blinking from all player, critter, and NPC stances in photo mode
Add a depth of field toggle so that we can remove background blur in all camera modes

Online/Multiplayer

Add the ability to interact with all ancient machines instead of just the cooker
Multiplayer dreamsnaps (Dreamsnaps can still only be submitted by host to disallow multiple people submitting the same dreamsnap). Outfit tags from guest players will not contribute to the host's tag count
Host player can still access furniture menu
All players should be able to talk to villagers and do quests
Allow all players to enter the host's house so we can give house tours as well as valley tours
Allow fast travel
Allow us to feed critters in other players valley without counting towards the hosts daily feeding limit
Allow players to remove the Multiplayer hub if they don't want it or add the functions of the hub to the plaza well since it is a permanent fixture, and it is already how every other character enters your valley anyway
Allow scramblecoin requests between players

DLC

Add an "Excavator" to the ancient machines in the timbending table that can remove respawning clutter (holes, rocks, mushrooms, etc.) and give you the resources.
No limit on how many ancient gardeners can be placed in one biome at a time
Give auto cookers and gardeners the ability to generate memories
Give the trolley tracks a function by letting the trolley move along them (so long as the track it's on is a closed loop) and maybe even add a train down the line. And give players the ability to ride them like the attractions.
Allow us to move or turn off the timebending orbs that spawn across the isle and valley
Add a coin flip to scramblecoin to determine who goes first (shake up the strategy meta a little)
Increase scramblecoin rounds to 6 or have gold coins start spawning on round 3
Allow players to dismantle timebending resources directly from our storage instead of requiring them to be in our inventory
Allow players to select seeds from our storage while interacting with an ancient gardener instead of requiring them to be in our inventory

2024.06.08 22:07 Pegion_Legion "Friend" replaced me and I feel hurt

So there's this friend from work who I've known for about a year but gotten very close to towards the end of the year.
We initially weren't all that close because we work in different departments and we're pretty different people. We had different social circles and we barely were in the same room at the same time due to different schedules and work positions. I also remember having lunch with her a few times at the beginning and feeling she wasn't all that receptive for friendship, even declining an invite for a happy hour with my closer coworkers, so I didn't bother much after that.
However, eventually most of the people she worked with left and she started making friends with other departments, and that's how we eventually started getting to know each other. I think it's important to note that prior to this, despite being an extroverted and loud social butterfly, she was very reserved with her private life and only allowed people she trusted a lot to get that close.
Slowly, we became closer and closer, she started asking whenever I was leaving for the day so we could go together to the subway, stopping to gossip and chat sometimes through out the day, added me on Instagram and exchanged numbers (something which she reserved exclusively to the people closest to her), we started talking outside of work, exchanging memes, started going out after work to the bar for drinks or coffee, and eventually we even started opening up to each other about intimate details of our lives.
She told me about her abusive fiancée, about her dad passing away, about her dreams of being a mother and her frustration on still being single at 34, about the love of her life who has been stringing her along since she was 15 but she just can't let him go. We developed a close bond, her telling me when she was going on a date with someone new due to trusting me, showing concern when I didn't go to work or messaging me during vacations to tell me she missed me, allowed me to be physically affectionate with her sometimes (she's very touch averse) and even initiated it most times, started calling me her little brother, etc. TLDR: we were close (or so I thought)
Thing is, she was always very push and pull. She's very independent and no strings attached, she likes doing things on a whim, and acts without thinking much about how others will take it. So she can be kinda flaky and inconsiderate at times, she finds needy people annoying and likes friendships to be easy and expectation free. At the same time, she can be very tender and loving, remembering you on special dates, expressing how special you are to her, gifting you cute gifts as that's her love language.
So it was all very confusing. One moment she could be very attentive and affectionate, and the next act distant and weird until she missed you again.
That said we never had many issues other than my confusion at her inconsistent behavior and one specific occurrence:
Basically I have one other very close friend at work and we're always together as we work in the same department, and the three of us basically became a trio. She would invite both of us all the time to do stuff and we were all inseparable. Eventually he got fired for a time and I was very bummed. I opened up to her about it and she shared my pain over him leaving.
After a month or so we managed to organize a get together with him at a bar, and we got to see our buddy again. However at the end of the night I heard her whispering to him to go to her house to continue binge drinking. He's gay and not her type so I know it's nothing like that, and they were drinking buddies as I don't drink as much as they do, but that still upset me as the three of us hadn't been together for a while and they never invited me. Eventually I shared this with her and she comforted me and said it wasn't anything personal, but I could feel that she was uncomfortable with that talk and she felt distant for a few days after. Regardless, after about a week everything was great between us.
The real problems started when a new girl joined as her new partner for work and my friend suddendly changed. She out of the blue stopped waiting or even asking us when we would leave, stopped coming over as often, felt more distant, and started including her in everything we did together. I welcomed this new girl to the group but never really got along with her (we just don't click) and started to feel jealous that my friend was getting so much closer to her.
I eventually asked to talk to my friend and told her I missed spending more time with her and asked if we could leave together occasionally like before (I tried not to make it about the new girl), and while she tried to be nice, once again she got visibly uncomfortable by the conversation and basically dismissed the whole thing and told me to not take it personally, that we can spend time together when we go out. I felt sad and unheard but didn't push it further.
As the months went by, she continued to hang almost exclusively with this girl but would still invite me and my bud for a drink but now always the four of us. She was still talking and showing affection to me outside of work but much less so, and once she came to my home for her birthday present (I was on vacation and invited her) and just brought that girl along uninvited and without warning, and I was forced to spend time with the three of us rather than having some one on one time with my friend as we planned. Her push and pull behavior also started to get much worse.
All of this got me increasingly annoyed and sad over losing that close relationship with her and how much she was dismissing my feelings about it all. I never had another talk as she clearly didn't like those but I was still visibly sad about the situation, but tried to let it go.
That takes us to a few months back. Her behavior got worse and worse, and by this point she and her friend had gotten closer than we had ever been. They were always going out after work, spend almost the entire night together, whereas my friend started to always rush our encounters when we went out as a group. When her friend left, she left. If she wanted to stay, she also stayed.
She would sometimes make plans with us and cancel for minor reasons, but never do so with the other girl. When we did go out she wouldn't even wait for us and go the two of them ahead, making me feel like my presence wasn't all that important and I was the third wheel in their friendship.
All of this frustration resulted in what happened three weeks ago, where they invited me and my bud to have a hotdog and beers with them, but by the time our shift was about to end they sent a message they were already asking an Uber and were going ahead if we couldnt make it. My friend started rushing to meet them in time but I was pissed and annoyed, and refused to rush myself to not be left behind, so I just didn't go.
Later that evening I messaged her and told her that she acted very disrespectfully and insensitive towards me, calling an Uber before even asking us and just planning to go the two of them when we all made plans and were leaving the same place at the same time. She got pissed, started to say that I was being unfair to her and putting blame on her for doing nothing wrong. That I was putting expectations on her she didn't want or need, that I was being selfish and that adults aren't "glued to each other", and not seeing my side at all.
I felt very dismissed and said this wasn't working out and that we are incompatible as friends, and that maybe we should just go back to being work colleagues. She then called me with a calm and sympathetic tone and said she can't stay mad at me, that she won't apologize for what she did but is sorry if she hurt me, and that she's just like that, she just goes with the flow, doesn't like to be expected certain things, that she's a free spirit and not take anything personally. I was tired of arguing so I just said okay and we made up. She joked that I better not act weird towards her the next day and we hung up.
After that happened, she's been completely distant towards me. Has barely made conversation, doesn't send me memes or act affectionate, she's just cold and treating me like any other coworker. She has invited me to hang out the four of us a couple of times, but was weird the entire time and made digs about what happened with her friend, joking I was throwing a tantrum and such. I tried to make small talk a few times during work but she has mostly cut me short, given forced smiles, or very short, kinda rude answers, yet she chats the entire day with other people. Sometimes she will be friendly to me, send me something on Instagram, but rarely. She's very short during texting, has completely stopped talking about personal stuff and refused me every time I asked her to hang out, only going when we all go as a group or her friend is there as well. I even I asked her if everything's alright and if we're cool and she just says we are, but nothing's changed.
It's very clear to me she has cut me off as a friend and I'm feeling pretty hurt and betrayed. I tried to communicate things that were bothering me because I thought we were close and we could count on each other, but she was never willing to meet me in the middle, and then just ended our friendship while claiming she wasn't. What I find even more confusing is why even call me to make up only to treat me like this.
I'm sad that I lost an important friendship and feel stupid for not realizing it was one sided. I'm still technically part of the "Friend group" but the vibe is super weird and I feel like I'm not all that wanted there on the brief occasions we do go out. It's even worse that I've been trying to get closer to people so I probably got more attached to this relationship than I usually would. This is messing with me more than I expected and I just want to stop feeling like shit. How can I move on?

Some context first. We're in our late 30s (I'm a guy, btw) and have been close friends for years. Our friendship endured our relationships and moving to other cities. We often see each other, go places, watch concerts, eat out and do stuff we like together. Due to distance between us, each opportunity we see each other is that much more special, and I try to make the most of it. And I admit, she does have a special place in my heart as my dearest friend. One of the rare people I dare to be vulnerable to. Maybe even the only one. For a while now I've developed some emotions for her, but decided not to ruin what is the best relationship in my life, besides the one I'm nurturing with my child. As a friend she is a dream come true, and I might be one if those rare guys that cherishes it. The two of us had a heart to heart, and we laid out how we felt about each other. It was really cathartic. We both value friendships, even more than romantic interests, to some extent. The trigger for that was me showing my weakness in one of the situations. She had been dating this guy for a couple of months, and I've never net him. I usually visit her when there is a show in town we're interested in, or for business related reasons. And pretty often I extend my stay so we can do stuff together when the stars align. As I mentioned, we've dated people, but it has never got in the way of our friendship. Both of us are very similar, we value our autonomy, and our partners should value that too. There's never been issues with our partners. So a couple of mobths ago, there was this show where we had wanted to go for months, an artist we really love. When we saw them last time, we bonded in a way. Her drunken innocent kiss then was one of the nicest moments I've ever experienced. A moment of sincerity and happiness, forever carved into the fabric of my being. So we planned it for months, reminding each other how awesome it would be from time to time. And a couple of days before the show, when it was time to seal my visit plan, she suggests to bring her bf along. This is where I showed my weakness. I told them to have fun there, as I didn't want to be the third wheel there. I literally felt the fabric of my being tearing apart. The same feeling I had when my parent died and when other huge lossed happened. I just couldn't process the thought of anyone else wrecking the invaluable time that we share together, the time that I cherish so much. It means that much to me, that I was selfish to cave in. And I laid it all out to her. If we lived closer, I would have met the guy, as there would be more opportunities. Opportunities that wouldn't carry the weight my usual time with her has for me. My time with her is just sacred, and that might be my problem. She understood, we skipped that show, but everything went on as usual. That was one of the triggers for us to lay out the value of our friendship to each other. And usually, we contact each other often, and talk about all kinds of stuff, from superficial to deep. She's a very thoughtful person, that's one of my favorite things about her. But lately, she is very slow and inconsistent to respond. And in a weird way. She is engaged in our conversations (for instance, it takes some effort to send a pic of your meal, which is what she sometimes does), but recently, it takes hours, sometimes even a couple of days, to reply and conclude eveb the most trivial topic. I am not sure what happened, and if she is doing this intentionally or not. I'm fine with the frequency of our communication shifting - we have our lives and stuff - but making such a drastic shift in our dynamics without letting me know what's up baffles me. As mentioned, she is one of the most thoughtful people I know, and this doesn't suit her. From the stuff she's been saying recently, I might jump tona conclusion that she's making an effort to not be on her phone that much, start excercising, reading, and stuff. But still, I am very concerned. Do you think she is pulling away, and if so, why? Pretty soon Im planning to check that for myself with her.

I have a friend who is always bringing her boyfriend along when we hangout, I have no problem with him. He is very nice and we get along fine, but sometimes I just want to hangout alone. She will do it without asking and just say “oh btw he’s coming”. The problem is she did this with her ex-boyfriend too. When a mutual friend of ours invited our friend group to a dinner, she asked if he could come. It’s not like I specifically invite them either, I don’t really have a problem with it, but it seems like whenever I get invited to something it’s the two of them and I’m a third wheel. It feels like I’m on a date with them or I’m like a child or some thing. I’m also single too, and happily alone. We are all young, around college age which means we are still figuring out relationships. I’ve never been one for being codependent and when I’m in a relationship I have one on one time with my friends. It is not like they have been dating for years either, her last bf she dated for five months, and this one she has been dating for like a few weeks. I don’t know how to navigate this because it seems like a lot of friendships I have with women are always shipwrecked when they get into relationships, they don’t even have to like the guy that much or been dating that long before it becomes all about their boyfriend and then we barely see each other. A lot of times the boyfriend will literally take a day off with “the boys” or treat them like crap and they will still always want to hang out with them, to the point where they will literally be making plans while hanging out with me.
