2024.04.14 13:50 isthatnietzsche [browser] [2010s] fairy (?) dressup/interior design game set in the city
hello!! i don’t have very good memories of this game but i remember playing it for a few hours, must have been around 2014-2017? and i LOVED it but i never found it again, so i just wanted to see if anyone else played or remembers it?
Platform: browser, flash game maybe.. i remember playing it after signing out of moshi monsters or club penguin? i think it was on one of those websites where there were loads of games which probably doesn’t narrow it down because there were SO many lol. i don’t think it required any downloads?
Genre: it might have been an MMO but i don’t think i ever got around to playing with other people, i think you could customise your character and your apartment?
Estimated year of release: it could have been any time but i remember playing it around the mid 2010s, 2014-2017 at a guess? i would’ve been about 7/8 years old
Graphics/art style: kind of like winx club but i dont think it was a winx game? it was just that generic 2000s-2010s “girls cartoon” style
Notable characters/gameplay mechanics: ?
Other details: all i remember is standing on the balcony all the way to the left of my apartment? it was similar to your animal jam den or something, i think you could customise it with furniture and stuff but i dont think i had any accessed since id just started the game.. it was set in a city, again i think it was similar to animal jam/club penguin where you were able to travel to different locations? i really can’t remember much about it sorry :(!! you might have had a fairy companion or something similar that told you instructions at the start of the game? maybe im just making details up at this point but any help would be appreciated!!

Lore A snow angel from a higher realm. She believes herself to be a mighty warrior with a destiny to save the world. Convinced of her own greatness, she grew restless in the tranquility of the higher realm and longed for a chance to prove herself. She heard the cries of humanity, suffering on Earth, and thought that this is her chance to prove herself. And so, she descended to earth, ready to vanquish any evil (or anyone) that dared to stand in her way. Though her delusions of grandeur may cause trouble for those around her, her heart is pure and she truly believes that she is on a mission to save the world. She lives on a snowy mountain in a den that she calls "Snow Den". Every night, she and her viewers must huddle together for warmth to survive the cold winter night or risk freezing to death. Introduction Risa is a female English-speaking VTuber who debuted on 5 July 2020. She plays video games, can talk forever and goes on multiple tangents, and sometimes does cooking or karaoke streams. She primarily streams on Twitch, where she likes to hang out with her chat, relax, and have a good time! Risa is a soft-spoken, naive girl who panics easily. She is warm and compassionate, loves to make people laugh, and is always looking for ways to brighten up her viewers' day. Risa cares a lot about her viewers, often taking the time to check in on them and make sure they are doing okay if they seem sad. She is always willing to lend an ear and offer advice, and she often goes out of her way to make sure her viewers feel appreciated. If she notices that a viewer is feeling down, she will take the time to listen to them and try to cheer them up by giving them a hug, a headpat, and words of encouragement. Her viewers will tease her and jokingly call her "parasocial" due to how much she cares for her viewers. In spite of all this, she is easily flustered by romance. Risa is also a bit of a goofball, often making silly jokes and and getting pranked by the viewers. She loves to have fun and is always up for a good laugh. Risa is also very creative, often coming up with new ideas for her videos. She loves to experiment with different styles and genres, and is always looking for ways to make her streams more interesting and engaging. Risa is also very passionate about her work, often putting in extra effort to make sure her videos are of the highest quality. She is very open-minded and accepting of different opinions, often engaging in thoughtful conversations with her viewers. Risa also has a humorous "yandere" persona. In her streams, she can often be seen happily and cheerfully committing murder and other terrible acts in-game while humming a cute tune. For example, in one of her streams she can be seen absent-mindedly killing a group of monsters with a smile on her face while singing a cheerful song. In another stream, she can be seen torturing a prisoner while remarking that their cries of pain sound cute and cheerfully imitating it. Risa's yandere side is often seen as a contrast to her normally innocent and kind personality, and it serves as an interesting dynamic to her character. Tidbits and Trivia - Her community is called the "Snow Denizens" and can be found on her official Discord.
- Risa has a habit of hiding her face behind her hands, especially when embarrassed. This can only be seen when Risa is using her 3D model, as it has hand-tracking.
- Risa has allergies which cause a terrible skin rash to the point of bleeding which is triggered by the sun, human sweat, cosmetics, and fragrances.
- Due to her sun allergy, she is often called a vampire by her viewers. Risa played into this when she cosplayed as a vampire for Halloween of 2020.
- Risa's Halloween costume in 2021 was a demon. However, many viewers teased her by saying it was a succubus costume. Due to this, chat members would call Risa "Bakabus", a portmanteau of "baka" and "succubus".
- Risa moved to the United States in elementary school, which explains her proficiency in English.
- Risa is very insistent she is above average height, saying that the average height for Asian females is 5'2". She is only half an inch taller than that height.
- Risa's nonchalant attitude towards casually committing morally questionable acts while playing games (most infamously her actions towards robots in Nier:Automata) has earned her a reputation as a "cold-blooded war criminal".
- Aside from being a war criminal, Risa is also known for her insane luck in video games.
- Risa will sometimes show higher skill than expected, like beating Ornstien and Smough in Dark Souls 1 in less than five tries, but then forget about basic gameplay features like not saving before losing to Mr. Shakedown in Yakuza 0, losing hours of progress.
- Risa often intentionally doesn't use core game mechanics like parrying or dodging when playing games that require these mechanics like MGR.
- Risa doesn't have much of a sense of direction. This also extends to video games, and causes her to get lost often. She's slowly getting better though!
- The greatest video game achievement of Risa’s career is considered to be beating Sans in Undertale while telling the viewers terrible dad jokes.
- Risa dislikes "metroids of the vania variety" as her difficulties with navigation and the backtracking required by these games do not mesh well. Despite this, she greatly enjoys the gameplay and lore of several games in the metroidvania genre.

2022.07.30 22:09 AFD_GM A Fistful of Dollars - Epilogues
Veronique approaches Jack and does as he says. She repeats those words, line by line, but instead of her standard jovial demeanor, she is back to being much more direct and cold, as she was after Griggs died.
“Well now, just head on outside and sign some paperwork, and we’ll have you right on your way!” Jack tells Veronique.
“What about bird lady?” Says Veronique, suddenly back to her usual self.
“Well, lovely Ms. Winchester is going to have to stay in the big house another 5 years, she can’t come with you, but you’ll get to be free.”
“Oh…” says Veronique, a little disappointed. “Well, I’ll see her then!” She perks right back up.
“That’s the spirit!” He responds.
“Well then,” says Jack, his smile disappearing. “If you don’t have anything else to say, it’s time to wrap things up. Try not to be too sad, you were sentenced to death before you came here, but you got to put on one last show.” It seems the cowboy accent he was using for this year is gone, as he looks at Nick.
Nick stands up from the bar. “I’m afraid not. A hanging in this day and age? Classless.”
“Hey now, don’t be sore about it! This is what you agreed to when you signed up, after all,” Jack says, backing up cautiously. A number of guards tighten their grip on their firearms.
Nick turns towards one of the cameras. “Losing such a pretty neck would just be a shame! I’ll be leaving here on my own terms!” He draws a small object from within his shirt. None present knew that this was the “shard of destiny,” the rare magic object which had spurred Nick to commit his murders for the sake of his goal to manipulate fate.
Before the guards could take aim and fire, Nick threw the object onto the ground, and it shattered in a flash. In the blink of an eye, Nick froze mid-action. A long crack forms at the top of his forehead, and moves down his body, over his clothes, as if Nick, clothes and all, had become a glass sculpture. The crack runs down his left leg, and as soon as it reaches his foot, cracks spiderweb out across his body.
Thousands of pieces of Nick then seem to lose their cohesion to each other, and there’s a shattering noise, as tiny shards of the man all fall to the ground. There’s no blood, as though he truly fully became glass. Before anyone can grab a dustpan to sweep up his remains, even those disperse into dust.
Jack is standing there, wiping his brow. He’s clearly shaken by what he just saw, and loosens his collar. He turns away from the nearest camera, and briefly covers his face, breathing heavily. And as soon as his breath calms down after a few seconds, he whirls back to the camera, smiling widely.
“What a shocking conclusion!” Jack announces, grinning. “A fitting end to another year full of twists and turns! Victories and losses! A massive upset win! You never know what’ll happen at the American Colosseum! But now, our show comes to a close for this year. Don’t forget, just because you didn’t win here doesn’t mean you shouldn’t uphold the American way in your everyday life! We’ll see you all next year, but for now, it’s time for me to ride on home! Good night America!” He throws his arms back and freezes for a moment.
Soon, the cameraman gives him a thumbs up, and Jack starts applauding. “Great work this year guys! You made this happen as much as I did!” He starts shaking the hands of a number of staff, smiling while doing so, occasionally clapping them on the back.
Diane acts similarly, as the staff celebrate the conclusion of another season. From the edge of the stage, Dennis directs security around. Roland stands there at the bar as he has done for much of the season, and starts providing drinks to crew members. Hina Amaya quietly claps as well, sitting near the stage. She never performed during the show, but her presence is noteworthy. She signs a few autographs.
While the congratulations continue, Jack walks over to Sofia and Rayford: “Say, mind if I have a slice of that there banana bread?”
OVER THE NEXT 11 MONTHS…
Bachus
Many women mourned the death of Bachus, while others rejoiced. Regardless, Bachus’ performance at the American Colosseum was the only way many of his 89 illegitimate children would ever see their father. Even those children who didn’t know he was their father would have their dashing good looks compared to those of that man who died on the TV.
Daegan McCarthy
As soon as Daegan died, a number of inter-departmental correspondence involving one ‘Ade Selleck’ was shredded. Ade retained his position with the government, but his chances of moving upwards stalled. As for Tommy Donatello, seeing his archenemy who brought him so low die so swiftly and with such little fight, he laughed himself to death.
Del Trotter
There was no one particularly close to Del. After all, his friends were dead, and he hadn’t had a great time in prison. Del’s microphone was given to one of the staff who worked on the show, as is customary for the personal belongings of deceased competitors at the end of each season. In Del’s case, it was given to one of the sound directors.
Doctor Sterling Fitz
Fitz was popular in his hometown, despite his crimes. Many found him likable, a fun person to be around. In fact, within the region, for the first few nights there were watch parties specifically to view Fitz. Unfortunately, he met his end far earlier than anticipated at the hands of the scaled monster. After his death he was hailed as a ‘pillar of his community.’ In fact, some locals have even spoken of erecting a statue of the man in his hometown, either not believing or not caring that in reality he was a greedy thug.
Eleanor Auragale
Unfortunately for Eleanor, with her demise the one who framed her for the murder of her family managed to remain scot free. Most people in the region believed she did kill those poor people, and so hardly felt any sympathy for her. The main exception to this was the Hartwoods, Gemma and Lucas, who never thought she was a murderer.
Enzo Ortiz
Few people knew Enzo before the game, but while it was airing he was very popular. Many considered him to be one of “the good ones”, or, rather, a goblin well-adjusted to human society. As such, most were sad when he died. One of his few friends, the goblin who he intentionally took the blame of an armed robbery for, saw the actions of Enzo and was inspired to turn his life around.
ESP Fennec
Though his real name was Sergei Vasilesvski, no one, even the game’s staff, would ever discover that. His mission had been to disrupt American propaganda efforts. In this he failed, being one of the most disliked competitors of all time. Perhaps this was due to many viewers taking his words personally as an attack on their way of life. Regardless, few people mourned his death in the West. Quietly, however, the US government took measures to further ensure the secrecy of the Iran-Contra affair.
Fen Nemes
American Colosseum is a show which produces rooms full of audio and video reels each season. Most of these are never shown to the public. Unfortunately for those around Fen, there were a number of leaks. In audio taken from her room, she implicated the Grand Magus in many assassinations, her stories lining up. In the months that followed, the US imposed a travel ban on Clocktown, a near death sentence for the tourism-based city. On Christmas Day, a desperate mob stormed the Grand Magus’ residence, resulting in her death at their hands. The day after, a tremendous blizzard wracked the region, causing power outages, and over a hundred people froze to death. Thereafter, the city was abandoned, and is now a ghost town.
Jason Griggs
While the show was airing Griggs was nicknamed “Nessie Jr.” That nickname was much more accurate than many people expected. Although by the third day Griggs was acting insane, his words had an unusual effect. Though his ranting about the sanguine fangs was nothing but paranoia, as they had nothing to do with the game, his ramblings brought outside scrutiny towards the organization. As such, the crime syndicate has had to scale back operations for the time being, and a number of local politicians who were formerly fans of the show have begun speaking against American Colosseum. Surely it’s just a coincidence.
Kenji Yohann Silva
Kenji had very little to leave behind when he died. Of course, his adoptive parents were against his participation in the game, and cried when he died, despite their mixed relations. As for Kenji, his wishes were honored, and his body was given a burial at sea off the coast of Hawaii.
Khuda
Although Khuda was from one dwarven mountainhome of Urzandium, when she died, no one came forward to claim her body as a relative. As such, her body was entombed in the rock of the mountain Tjørnholstind, a desolate mountain where the dwarves without family ties are buried.
Mei Lan
Mei’s grandchildren had decent bedtimes and were not allowed to see violent television. This was a good thing, as they didn’t get to see their beloved grandmother’s head bitten off. That death was particularly shocking to a number of viewers, both due to its violence, and because Mei was a favorite of many. The network got many complaints about her death, claiming they should not have made such an old lady fight. However, the official response by BBN was that it gave Mei a chance to be with her grandkids she wouldn’t have gotten anywhere else.
Nick Marlin
With the death of Nick Marlin and the loss of the Shard of Destiny, his organization was certain to fall apart. The Knight in White, who had been reluctant to talk, spilled as much information as he knew. The investigations, though still ongoing, have shocked the nation even more than Nick’s original trial. The Rook in White was unveiled as a member of the Los Angeles City Council, and the Queen in White outed as the inheritor of an oil baron, considered one of the best money managers in the country. That so many high-profile individuals would be part of an occult circle raised alarms across the nation. Many magician organizations have had to tighten their security, as young detectives across the nation want a shot at cracking open the next glass eye cult. Of the so-called “Eight Ranks” of Nick’s inner circle, only the Bishop in Black, who carried out most of the organization’s dirty work, has managed to evade identification and capture and remains at large.
Rulim
To the gang known as the Black Cats, Rulim was renowned as a hero. He really stuck it to the man, said his peace, and then spoke with his shotgun. Shame he missed Jack, they think. Outside of those very particular circes, though, Rulim was strongly disliked. Just another dirty goblin with a nasty attitude.
Sophie Krueger
Although Sophie entered the game with the hope that her actions might make the States more amenable to magic, her presence did not make a significant impact on policy. While her actions of standing up to Bachus and protecting Victoria were noble ones, many people still feared magic. Even Sophie herself was used as an example by those who opposed her views, a mercenary who could alter her form to gain terrifying strength. However, her views would have more of an impact on a particular survivor of the game…
Victoria Vogel
No cameras showed Victoria’s death during the night. It was joked by many viewers that maybe she found a way to Paradise in that mine where she fell to her death. Still, her friend Zoe and her mother mourned her loss, hoping she found a better place.
Rayford Perry
Rayford returned to prison. Despite his crippling injuries, he managed to survive such a dangerous game, the only individual to fight Griggs twice and live to tell about it. A vampire, Rayford would have to stay out of the sun, but despite his reliance on blood, he’s been spending much of his free time in prison learning how to cook. He may well be quite the chef once he’s served his term. Beyond that, he’s writing an autobiography.
Sofia Winchester
Sofia was greatly affected by her time in the game. Of course, she’d always had a great fascination with it, so it was natural that actually being in it would change her. She took Jack’s advice, and with her ample time in prison, has begun writing a book. Specifically, a book in which she espouses Sophie’s ideals. It’s said the book will argue the case for magic in the modern era, the belief that magic should not be as restricted as it is, and can do much good for the modern world. The book is not yet published, but behind the scenes Jack has told Sofia he’ll find her a publisher and distributor when she’s finished with her writings.
Veronique McGregor
2 months after the events of A Fistful of Dollars…
Veronique McGregor stepped out of the airplane onto the small, desolate runway. She coughed from the dust in the air. She shields her eyes from the hot African sun, and looks towards her destination, stark against the horizon: Mt. Kilimanjaro. She lifts her heavy bag and looks around the runway.
A jeep is pulled over alongside the runway. A black man in khaki clothing waves at Veronique to come over. In a heavily accented voice, he asks, “You are Ms. McGregor, yes? I was told you would have pretty hair.”
“We’ll say I am,” she says, calmly. Of course, young Veronique is nowhere to be found. Right now it’s the Taniwha in control.
“Of course Miss,” he says. “Please have a seat in the back.”
Veronique loads her bags in before sitting down. The jeep is cranked up and sets off down a long dirt trail.
“There are not many who come to the mountain this way!” The driver says loudly, making sure he is heard over the noise of the engine and the bumps along the road. “Most tourists interested in the mountain come to it from the other side,” he gestures at it. “What brought you out here?”
“Little village by the foot of the mountain!” Veronique responds, loudly. It doesn’t hurt if he knows now, after all, she’ll be getting rid of witnesses.
“Ah! Not many people know about them!” Says the driver, in a good mood, keeping his eyes on the road. “Not too friendly to foreigners, I hear, though! Mostly keep to themselves! Where did you hear about them?”
“I heard their pulse!” Veronique shouts back.
“What was that?!”
“I said National Geographic!”
The driver doesn’t seem to be convinced that Veronique said that, but continues driving all the same.
The drive still takes over an hour, the airstrip being located outside the National Park, and the barely-maintained dirt road keeping the vehicle’s speed down. Eventually, coming through the forest, they arrive at that small village. A number of people gather, this vehicle seeming to be a rare appearance.
The driver puts the vehicle in park. “Ah, Ms McGregor, do you know their language? It is a local dialect, it may be difficult to un-”
He turns back to look at Veronique just as she unzips her luggage. She pulls out an M16. Fully automatic. Her heavy pack is filled with pre-loaded magazines and a number of explosives.
With a scream, the villagers begin to run. The driver leaps out the driver’s side while Veronique slaps in a magazine. She stands up atop her back seat, with eyes glossed over and markings above and below her eyes, ready to do what she did to her home village and Mt. Washington. The Taniwha has taken Veronique away from the world, and now aims her weapon towards the fleeing innocents.
“Now I see with eye serene the very p-”
Before Veronique can finish those words, the wind is knocked out of her as she is hit from behind, and she freezes. Looking down, she sees… red? A red stain is spreading across the front of her shirt. Veronique drops her gun, the sound of the gunshot which inflicted this wound only reaching her location now.
Those fatal words start to appear all over Veronique’s own body.
This isn’t supposed to happen, the magic mountains, they must be purged! The Taniwha desperately thinks, but no longer does it have the strength to fulfill that desire.
Another hit lands in Veronique’s center of mass, and this time she falls forward, onto the front seat. It would be several minutes before any village would dare approach her. Still, she was quite dead all the same. The words that appeared all over her victims now appeared on her own body. “Now I see with eye serene, the very pulse of the machine.”
Later in the day, as evening falls…
In the tourist town of Moshi, one man stands at a payphone, feeding it coins. International calls are expensive, of course. He’s a man with scars on his face, in his early 30s, but with pale hair.
It takes quite a while before he reaches the man he wanted to call. “It was just as we figured. Had to deal with it before it got out of hand.” He sighs, and listens to the voice on the other end before responding.
“No, no, nobody saw me. Still, I barely made it in time, two minutes later and there’d have been a real mess.” He feeds the telephone another coin, while listening.
“Should have seen it coming, she was out of her mind from the start. That makes 2 out of 3 who’ve tried something they shouldn’t have. Second chance my ass, you oughtta let me deal with the crazies as soon as I get the chance, otherwise next time something we don’t see coming might happen and foul all this work up. Hell, could you imagine what headlines would be if she went through with it? They’d eat you alive!”
He listens to the other end. “Yeah, yeah, if you say so boss. Only ‘good thing’ I see about this whole situation is it’ll probably never come out. Not many folks around here have even heard of the show, let alone got any real idea who she is. Anyone who goes looking for her will probably have the trail run cold soon as they reach Tanzania.”
He feeds the payphone another coin, having to listen to the man on the other end for quite some time. “I don’t know, you’re the expert there. Spread all the rumors you want, I’m coming back to the states.” He hangs up the phone, sighs, and picks up a long case. With another gloved hand he runs his fingers through his hair. It’s going to be a few long flights back home.
The End

Mark’s Survivor: Paradise Island —————————
My thoughts:
Despite no idols or advantages, this season was absolutely great. I loved watching this season and the outcome was really good. A lot of robbery’s during the pre-merge stage. I loved the whole merge, I thought all of them really deserved to get as far as they did. I felt sorry for Flash but at least she won Fan Fav. Meilan and DJ Quack were great finalists and I loved them going to the end. Overall, this season was super enjoyable —————————
Possible Returnees:
Meilan, DJ Quack, Black Hole, Shiro, Zagreus, SB, Eggman, Gelatin and Gwen —————————
Congrats to
Meilan for winning this iconic season. Now it’s time for our brand new season. 10 new castaways
and 10 returnees will be facing against eachother in
Mark’s Survivor: Fans vs Favourites. Sign-Ups up tomorrow. Cya!

2021.05.22 21:22 apehasreturned PRIDE Does Graduation
May 21st, 10:01AM JST - Room 92, Hotel Gracery, Shinjuku, Tokyo Song:
Hilary $wank by Joey Bada$$ Ape is in his hotel, lying in his bed and throwing his phone up in the air, tossing it up, throwing a few shadow punches and catching it to work on his speed and try to relieve the relative boredom and nerves ahead of Graduation. Resting in a pink robe decked out in alpacas, it's a calm morning in Shinjuku, the last night's debauchery, noise, light and drunkenness fading into the day. However, his routine is cut off by the phone buzzing in mid-air, leading to him catching it with an ear-piercing yell, desperate to not let it fall, and pulling it to his ear as he sits up in one smooth motion. "
Moshi moshi?" asks Ape, only to hear STEEZ's voice on the other end of the line. "Hey, get down here. Ran into someone. I'm in the lobby." Ape says he'll be down in a few, getting changed into a purple shirt with black pants and a matching blazer, capped with a pair of Bourdain-style Persols. He drinks a glass of water, ties his hair up, and heads on out to meet with STEEZ and his mystery companion.
Entering the lobby, he quickly spots STEEZ outside the washroom. He heads over, the two exchanging a fist bump as they quickly settle into a conversation. STEEZ is looking good, too, wearing a Cosa Nostra varsity jacket over a hoodie with a pair of Jeans and Yeezys, all to compliment the World Title that he opted to wear around his waist in public. Ape asks who the special guest is, and right on cue, out of the washroom walks Conor Cassidy, flicking the water off his hands. Ape gives him a nod, Conor giving one back before the three of them all start cracking jokes. Conor tells Ape that they headed on over to hit the town the day before the big show to calm the nerves, given all of them have main event level matches. Ape says it makes sense, and that he knows a Korean place nearby with good breakfast, so they all head out the door, Ape calling for the valet to grab his car.
May 21st, 10:26AM JST - Hotel Gracery Roundabout, Shinjuku, Tokyo Song:
The Steiners by Westside Gunn As it arrives, they all file into the midnight purple RX-7, They hop into the car, STEEZ driving this time as he turns up the music. Ape is in shotgun, tapping the dashboard to the rhythm, and Conor looks slightly confused by the track. They coast through northwest Shinjuku, heading south past the Nishiwaseda campus. "This a university?" ponders Conor. "Yeah, food's around here. They decked the place out," says Ape, instinctively pulling to the right before veering to the left to stop. "Fuckin wrong side of the road..." he mumbles, hopping out onto the sidewalk and ushering the rest of the group towards the restaurant. As they're about to head in, though, they're halted by a group of thugs, rushing at the three FBE stars with reckless abandon. They all leap into action, throwing hands, STEEZ taking one out with a flying forearm, springboarding off a handrail. Conor and Ape team up to take out another one, landing a double-team snap suplex into a wall, before all three converge for a series of knees on the last guy. Huffing and puffing, Ape suggests they head further south, cutting their losses on the food here.
However, as he looks around the campus, he seems to remember something he'd been forgetting, only for the train of thought to be interrupted by an inquisitive STEEZ. "Man, I thought college town deals were only a thing in the States." Ape says they're a thing around the world, just a bit rarer, before he yells out "OH, SHIT!" Both Conor and STEEZ ask what the hell is wrong, and Ape pauses for a second before saying "uhh... I think I gotta turn back around. I had something I was supposed to do today, some charity deal with a bunch of ESL high schoolers around here. Was gonna haul em around Tokyo the day before Graduation since their parents donated a shitton, teach them some English on the way. Can we, like, head back round? They should be up near the dorms." STEEZ looks on incredulously, confused as to how Ape could quite literally forget a busload of kids, but Ape passes it off as his management brain dying at BTE.
May 21st, 12:00PM JST - Nishiwaseda Dorms, Toyama, Tokyo Song:
Kyouran Hey Kids!! by The Oral Cigarettes Eventually, they park the Mazda and swap it out for a school bus, filled to the brim with people in their early teens. Ape is driving now, the kids all singing along to the music in Japanese while Ape tries to teach them English phrases. They're not really taking to it, but many of the kids are in the back with STEEZ, who's teaching them any and all swear words he can think of. Conor, meanwhile, is deliberately teaching them Irish, much to the chagrin of Ape, and the confusion of the students, who look on at Conor in the same type of obliviousness Conor faces when he listens to good music. As they keep chatting amongst themselves, Ape keeps heading a little further west of Shinjuku, coasting around as the sun sets into the middle of the day.
A little while later, the group are still trying to teach the kids by showing them their old matches with the English commentary, the teens impressed by the jam-packed Tokyo Dome in the background of their bouts. However, they're left to watch as STEEZ and Conor head up to the front to join Ape, idly chatting with the Infinity Ace when Conor points out something happening on the sidewalk ahead. It's a woman with a stroller, a man hunched over it and seemingly screaming at the top of their lungs. STEEZ asks "the fuck that dude doing?" and Ape shrugs as they start to drive by the scene, only to hear a huge THUD and a gasp from the woman, the guy nowhere to be seen.
PRIDE all file out, the teens still engrossed in the BTE II main event broadcast, and the woman is saying that she had to shove him away from her baby. Ape looks under the rear tire, Conor and STEEZ going "oooooohhhh..." as Ape looks on in confusion. "Is that... who I think it is?" STEEZ and Conor both nod, and then turn to the woman. "We'll handle this one," they say, picking the dude up and pulling him into the bus. They throw him down in the aisle, all of the kids looking up from the BTE II World Title match to look at the dead guy in the aisle, then back at the screen, then back to the guy. "OH SHIT!" says one of them, in heavily accented English, "THAT IS DESMOND CAID!"
May 21st, 1:04PM JST - Undisclosed Forested Location, Shinjuku, Tokyo Song:
Love Parade by Masayuki Suzuki They all drive to a secluded park, nothing around them but trees as the bus comes to a spot. The high schoolers are all saying "oof" as the guys head around the back of the bus, Ape saying they had to grab a shovel. STEEZ pulls out a huge one, but Ape shakes his head, saying "no, the other one!" Finally, Conor pulls out an immense golden shovel, Ape's reflection gleaming in the polished metal. "Perfect," says Ape, and he starts digging for a proper burial, Conor and STEEZ joining him once the kids are set up with another FBE PPV.
Song:
Millennium by Outkast Looking around to make sure nobody is there, they roll Desmond into the shallow grave before they hear music start to play. Ape looks behind a tree, and sure enough, Outkast has reunited to play Caid out properly, having even brought a priest with them to monitor the ceremony. Outkast start playing Millennium, Ape and STEEZ bobbing their heads as Conor steps to the head of the hole to deliver his speech. "Why do people listen to this?" asks Conor, only for STEEZ to insist that ATliens is a top tier album. Conor mutters "An é an caipín sin a mboladh mé? Is é!" under his breath, STEEZ throwing a rock that narrowly misses the Irishman. Conor gives a half-hearted speech about how he was no longer a shit-tier competitor, before STEEZ goes up to bat, headphones in as he rotates up.
Song:
No Auto Durk by Durkio Looking down at Desmond, STEEZ frowns slightly before taking out one earbud. "Damn bruh." He then puts his earbud back in and walks away, joining Conor and Ape once more at the foot of the grave. Conor looks around at them, and then looks down at Desmond, before saying "hey, STEEZ... you never got a visual pin on him, did you?" STEEZ shakes his head, and then all three smile before dogpiling Caid, each of them getting one last three count over the Devil's Favourite Diary Writer before burying him softly as the priest delivers a sermon. "We are gathered here today to celebrate the passing of one incredible Rocket League player, a man who was always prepared to quote Suits..."
As they finish the job, Conor, STEEZ and Ape all agree to never speak of this again before returning to the bus. They file in and start chatting with the oblivious teens, peeling out of the park and back towards central Tokyo. "Damn, nice weather we're having, huh?" asks Conor, looking up at the bright sky. "Yeah, I hope it holds up this weekend. Never had FBE working an uncovered event like this before, least Soldier Field had a bit of an overhang," says Ape, only for STEEZ to talk about how he doubts it's going to rain. They make their way down south, passing by Jingu as they can spot Roppongi Hills off to their left. Ape is chatting with a few of the teens about the area, talking about potentially buying a place in the city, and their talks about real estate are cut short by a piercing horn honking at them from behind.
"Shit, is that the cops?" asks Conor, only for STEEZ to shake his head. Pulling up behind them is a souped-up Mitsubishi Lancer, coated in fluorescent decals, and honking like hell as the bus approaches the red light. STEEZ heads to the back bus, calling on the kids to use the new colourful language he taught them, and they all scream bilingual abuse at the car, who eventually rolls up on the driver's side at the light. STEEZ rushes up to talk smack with the driver, who starts revving his engine, daring them to have a race to Shibuya Crossing. Conor says yes, looking to hop into the driver's seat, but Ape shakes his head, insisting on doing it himself this time.
May 21st, 2:11PM JST - Meiji Jingu, Jingu, Tokyo Song:
Spitfire by GO2 Switching the music up with a cocky smirk, Ape tells the kids to buckle up, only for them all to say that there's no seatbelts in the bus. Ape and the opposing driver lock eyes, Ape snapping his fingers as a kid swaps out his Persols for a pair of Baby Driver style Wayfarers, tucking the Bourdain pair into Ape's pocket as both vehicles rev their engines. The light switches to green, and they're both off like bats out of a wet market, the kids all bouncing to the back of the bus as STEEZ and Conor clutch to the seats in front of them, pulling themselves up to Ape's side to geta. better view of the action. It's one and a half kilometers to the finish, and the car peels ahead in the first corner as both blast through red lights.
Running out of options on how to get ahead, he tries ramming the Lancer, but the car drifts around the second corner to narrowly avoid the hit before slipping into the front tire of the bus, knocking the wheel into the well. The bus is hindered as the Mitsubishi speeds off, Conor and STEEZ cheering Ape back into the race as the kids start to come to, all showing their support. Frustrated, Ape flicks open the gear shifter knob, the naturally standard issue nitrous button lying within. Pressing the button, flames jet out of the exhaust, launching the bus forward at unprecedented speeds as the kids are again sent soaring into the back, knocking the door open as several cling on for dear life.
Blasting into a side by side with the Lancer, the intersection is in view between the gaps in the buildings, just one straightaway and a corner left before they reach the busiest intersection in the entire world. Milking the nitrous for all it's worth as the turn approaches, Ape eggs the bus on before wrenching on the wheel, sending kids crashing into the windows on the far side of the bus as he tries to wrangle it into a clean drift. The Mitsubishi takes the outside, the bus fishtailing it and knocking it a bit further ahead as the crossing comes into view, but the bus starts to tip with all of the force of the drift, smoke kicking up from the tires as it shifts onto just two wheels.
Gunning the accelerator, Ape powers through, the bus continuing to go as they both fly towards the finish line... THE BUS TIPS OVER! Sliding on its side, the bus smashes into the Lancer ahead that's slowing for pedestrians, the back of the Lancer going straight through the overturned windscreen as STEEZ, Conor and Ape duck down. It goes all the way through, the bus essentially absorbing the car as it slides its nose across the finish line, winning in spectacular fashion. Stepping out of the bus, all three guys walk to the Statue of Hachiko at the corner of the crossing, leaving all the children, the bus and the Lancer in the middle as they go on their own adventure.
May 21st, 2:20PM JST - Shibuya Crossing, Shibuya, Tokyo Song:
Judgment (Full Spec) by Hidenori Shoji Looking around, Ape points out a few spots he recognizes from video games, before finally setting eyes on Shibuya Station's main walkway above him. "Now that... that's the hideout from Persona 5. We gotta go. Come on, we're going." He drags Conor and STEEZ around the area, excitedly gesturing at venues that Conor shrugs off and STEEZ actively groans at, until they finally come to a seedy bar in a back alley off of Main Street. The awning says "Bacchus," and Ape thinks for a moment, Conor looking on in slight bemusement as he tries to place it. They all step inside, Ape seeing a few tables set up in the back of the moody joint. "Wait! That's where the third palace arc kicks off with Kaneshi-" Finally, STEEZ cuts Ape off so he doesn't implode, before Conor spots a microphone on a stage with a karaoke machine behind it.
Moments later, Ape is on guitar as Conor belts out Judgment into the microphone, both porting headbands to keep their hair out of their eyes as they headbang to the track. In the background, a slightly bored STEEZ pounds away at the drums, a faint smile appearing on his face thanks to seeing his two friends so happy despite his own general distaste for it. However, they're cut off right as they reach the climax of the song by two angry patrons, throwing beers at them as a third man, cloaked in the shadows, stands up behind them.
Taking offense, Conor dives off the stage with a senton, taking both out as Ape hops down himself. They all start throwing hands, STEEZ throwing a snare drum into the fray as the third man stands there, menacingly. Conor hits a superkick on the first guy, sending him into a Black Flash by Ape before they hurl him into the karaoke machine in a sea of sparks. The second is taken out as Ape smashes him in the head with the guitar, swinging it across his face like a baseball bat before launching Conor up into the rafters. As Conor trapezes, STEEZ smashes the snare drum around the man's head, wrapping it around him before Conor swings into a modified missile dropkick, sending him crashing through a back window into an alleyway. Finally, they all turn to face the third man, who steps out of the shadows to reveal his face, a veritable
critical hit landing on STEEZ and Ape as they faint in the presence of the one and only 2 Cold Scorpio.
May 21st, 3:10PM JST - Bacchus Bar, Miyashita, Tokyo Song:
Escape From LA by The Weeknd 92Cold start to come to at a booth seat in the bar, sitting across from one another as they slump across the table. Drifting into consciousness, STEEZ asks why the hell the Weeknd is playing, Ape mumbling about it giving him a headache as they get up to try and find its source. They pass by Conor in the next booth, who looks at them and says 2 Cold Scorpio left, the two reluctantly thanking their friend for setting them up in a good spot after their unfortunate accident. STEEZ asks Conor "you the one playing that shit music?" but Conor eagerly shakes his head, saying it's coming from outside somewhere. STEEZ and Ape shrug, asking Conor if he wants to come with them to look for it, but the Daredevil opts to nurse his water in the bar and come out in a few when he's done.
Both Ape and STEEZ open the front doors, looking around, but it seems like the music is quieter from there as they look into the main alley. Confused, they head back in, going to where the first guy got sent through the window. Avoiding the broken glass, they hop into the dimly-lit, yellowing back alley. The rooves seal off all light from the Tokyo sun in the mid afternoon, but it's where the music is getting ever louder, so the two brave on. It's seemingly emanating from behind a dumpster, so STEEZ goes around and sees 2 Cold Scorpio going to town on a girl, his phone blasting Escape From LA. STEEZ looks at him in disgust, yelling "yo, I thought you were cool, man. Turn that shit off, it's giving me a hangover and I ain't even drunk yet." 2 Cold Scorpio turns to face STEEZ and Ape, still doing his thing, and pointedly turns the volume up, only for STEEZ to grab the phone and smash it over his head to turn the music off. He and Ape dump 2 Cold Scorpio in the dumpster as the girl runs off, Ape looking at Scorp and saying "damn," before closing the lid. STEEZ pauses a moment, finally asking "who the hell would want to fuck to that?"
May 21st, 4:25PM JST - Miyashita Park, Miyashita, Tokyo Song:
Occult Phenomenon Research Club by Hiroaki Tsutsumi Both STEEZ and Ape head back in and grab Conor, all of them heading back to the main street, the bright sun shining down on them for a hot and beautiful day. They spend some time walking around the outskirts of Miyashita Park, a bit north of the intersection, and Conor heads off to grab something to drink at a vending machine. Both Ape and STEEZ wait on a bench in the shade, joking around as they take cover from the heat, but it seems like Conor's been gone a while. Eventually, Ape opts to head after him, and he sees something horrifying once he does see him. Running back to STEEZ, who's fanning himself with a newspaper, Ape screams "STEEZ! IT'S AN EMERGENCY! CONOR'S GETTING HIT ON!"
Both men spring into action, sprinting towards their friend and stopping at a corner to observe from a secluded spot. STEEZ says "Formation B!" to Ape, who nods, before STEEZ rushes around the corner, wrapping an arm around his shoulder. "Hey, Conor! Been a while! Who's this? Man, she's pretty. Good thing you got those rashes looked at, huh?" Turning to the woman, he says "Doc said it was the worst he'd ever seen," before Ape's part of the plan comes into play, coming up behind with a wig on. Shrieking at the top of his lungs at both STEEZ and the lady, he yells "STAY AWAY FROM HIM... YOU HOMEWRECKERS!"
The woman slowly backs away from Conor, who's positively fuming, before Ape takes off the wig and joins STEEZ with an arm over his shoulder. "Good reference, huh, Corner?" Conor nods begrudgingly, STEEZ asking what it was from and noting he'd gone off the cuff. Both Conor and Ape turn to him in disappointment, Ape only saying "dude..." before Conor chimes in with "just... just watch JJK. We've been asking for months." Conor groans and says he could use a spot to get out of the heat, but STEEZ and Ape are still overjoyed about their successful mission to sabotage their white and racist pal. Turning around, they point out a bar that seemingly is trying to rip off some culture, but they weren't sure which.
May 21st, 4:50PM JST - America Number One Monster Truck Extreme Bar, Shibuya, Tokyo Song:
I Gotcha by Lupe Fiasco They all walk into the bar, and seemingly right on cue, the bar music switches to Lupe, STEEZ and Ape vibing to the music. Conor stares blankly into middle distance, disappointed in his PRIDE compatriots as they gather folks up from their tables to dance with them, starting a borderline flash mob in the middle of the crowded bar festooned with Americana. As everyone is having a good time, STEEZ urges Conor to join in, only to be met with a stern "do I LOOK like the kind of person who dances to Lupe Fiasco?" As the party continues to pick up in the bar, the drinks are flowing, and by the time STEEZ goes up to ask for something, the barkeep tells him they're all out, and normally wouldn't serve this early anyway. As people come up to ask if they're real Americans, the three decide to leave in search of an even better drinking experience.
As they file out, Ape notes that he knows a place down south in Setagaya, but they'd need to take the subway to get there. They all go ahead towards Shibuya Station, Conor slightly unsure of the card system as Ape explains how it works. Heading back through the Shibuya Crossing, the bus is still being cleaned up, everyone marvelling at the incredible crash that had occurred. STEEZ laughs, but their laughter is cut off as they arrive at the station square, witnessing the police beating the life out of an unarmed man in the stairwell. The guys all look to intervene, or even just plead to the humanity of the cops, but Ape gets a closer look and says "Oh, it's EDP445. No need to get involved." As they pass him by, he yells out "THAT'S CORRECT!" before being pounced on by another squadron.
May 21st, 6:26PM JST - Dangerous K Izakaya, Setagaya, Tokyo Song:
Holy War 21 by AJPW Slightly over an hour later, the three thirsty lads make their way into Ape's izakaya joint of choice, the other two unsure of what makes it so special. "Man, I ain't need ramen, I need a drink," says STEEZ to Ape, but the Infinity Ace gestures to what - and who - is behind the counter. Wall to wall bottles of booze run across the back of the izakaya kitchen, but the kitchen itself is being operated, much like the front of house, by one Toshiaki Kawada. Conor, simping for puro as always, looks lustfully at Dangerous K, begging him to take a photo with the three of them once they've ordered. Looking entirely unamused, Kawada heads out from behind the counter, giving a half-hearted punching pose for the timed camera as Conor, STEEZ and Ape all oversell the shit out of it for the photo.
As they plop back down in their seats, they order a round of drinks, the All Japan legend taking his time as he grabs the Ciroc STEEZ asked for and the sake he recommended for Ape. He pops them behind the counter and works on their ramen, pouring it out for both before asking what Conor would like. Conor asks for a straight water, Kawada looking slightly befuddled before pouring out a water from a bottle in the fridge. Conor spots some bottled water in the fridge and says that would be more than fine, Kawada grabbing it and handing the closed bottle to Conor. All three say bottoms up, and all of a sudden, the two who drank booze started feeling very sleepy.
May 21st, 8:30PM JST - Underground Colosseum, Tokyo Song:
The Only Thing They Fear Is You by Mick Gordon Both STEEZ and Ape awake in a cage of some description, a circular cell confining them as people look on from balconies, waving wads of cash. Down the entrance ramp come a few fighters, all of them being scouted above by Kawada and a confined Conor Cassidy, who clearly managed to get away from getting dosed by being a hydro homie. STEEZ mutters something about sticking to Hennessy from now on, and the doors close the last FBE Tag Team Champions in with the sea of enemies. Their foes all cackle, a slew of two-bit thugs surrounding them as a tremendous man staggers in to fill their view from the front. He says "you two got unlucky to be trapped in here with me... Gary "Buster" Holmes!" The crowd all roar, but STEEZ simply says "we aren't stuck in here with you," Ape picking up with "you're stuck in here with US. And all we're surrounded by is fear... and dead men."
The two start throwing hands with anyone that will trade, exchanging opponents by throwing them across the cage to one another. Battering the life out of all the nobodies with quick strikes, STEEZ and Ape sync up to hit their finishers simultaneously on the final two before turning to Buster. Holmes chuckles, cracking his knuckles, before both STEEZ and Ape hit him with Black Flash bicycle knees, sandwiching his head before running his face all around the cage, dragging his immense body around for all the spectators. They pummel him down in an increasingly terrifying display, before they finally hear "ENOUGH!" The ramp is suddenly lit by sparklers, LED lights shining and spotlights roaming before Kawada himself makes his way through, ready to face off with his offerings to the colosseum himself. However, STEEZ and Ape look up to see Conor break free of his bonds and DIVE FROM THE BALCONY, INTO THE CAGE BELOW!
All three members of PRIDE are in there with Kawada, and Toshiaki gulps before kicking a wounded Conor in the gut to go for a Kawada Driver. Ape and STEEZ hit tandem superkicks, before all three start chaining successive Black Flashes like they're shooting for combo records. Beating down Kawada with increasingly elaborate teamwork, we're finally treated to Ape hitting a blistering forearm, dazing Kawada, who falls to a knee as the Infinity Ace grabs Conor by the legs. He swings him around like a discus before finally letting go, Conor soaring towards Dangerous K with a flying elbow strike as STEEZ runs up the cage, bouncing off to meet Conor in the middle with a SHOWTIME KICK! Kawada's head is squashed between the two blows, all three finishing him off with a triangle of basement superkicks to crumple their one-time hero.
Leaving the cage, they search for the ringleader, when they spot Sanshiro Takagi, NOAH's president, upon the balcony. Ape, STEEZ and Conor climb up the cage and leap to the balconies, facing off with Stone Cold Sanshiro, and beat the beer out of his hands before dumping him over the edge and crashing to the canvas below. Conor makes a passing remark about how that's probably the fifth or sixth guy they've inadvertently killed today, and STEEZ shrugs before spotting a golden briefcase in Takagi's seat. Opening it reveals virtually immeasurable amounts of Japanese yen, and the light from the dough shines in all three pairs of eyes before Ape asks "so, STEEZ, you were talking about getting some Henny?" STEEZ chuckles, saying Ape had just talked about buying property in the area on the bus, and Conor is rubbing his hands together at the possibilities as they grab the case and make their way to the surface.
May 21st, 9:55PM JST - Pink Street, Kamurocho, Tokyo Song:
Vaccinated Attitude by Marc Rebillet The guys all come up on Pink Street, back in Shinjuku, splitting the money three ways before rushing off to fulfill their own hopes of what to do with it. Shortly thereafter, they all reconvene at Pink Street's main intersection, and something is slightly off about Ape as he returns to his friends. STEEZ has some new kicks, Conor having an eighteen-wheeler filled with water following him around, but Ape's ditched the shirt and blazer for a yellow bathrobe, downing beers and singing into an unplugged golden microphone as seven... new friends tail him. STEEZ and Conor have a bit of a laugh as Ape introduces them all, Ape talking up how they had this revolutionary vaccine that makes their career a little more viable.
He turns to them and says he's going to buy the hotel that sits in Theatre Square, enthusiastically bounding over to the public junction when one of them says that the vaccine takes 14 days to kick in. He turns around, confused, as they explain the gestation period, and a dejected Ape mumbles "so we can't... we can't just fuck on the... on the street?" They shake their heads, and Ape shrugs before heading off to join STEEZ and Conor, insisting there are better things to spend money on - they got real estate to purchase and Hennessy to drink. STEEZ says amen, pulling out a bottle and some glasses, and 92Cold start downing, the spending spree getting underway.
May 22nd, 12:02PM JST - Ichiban Real Estate Holdings, Kamurocho, Tokyo Song:
Yakuza 0 Theme by Hidenori Shoji As one night passes into the next, the guys all head to Ichiban Holdings, a real estate company now stationed in Kamurocho after a move from Yokohama. They all pool their money back into the gargantuan suitcase, popping it down on the front counter before saying "we'd like to buy Kamurocho, please..." swinging it open before ending with "IN CASH!" The teller eagerly nods and starts making phone calls, the three laughing as Conor and Ape point out it's just like Yakuza, STEEZ blankly looking on into middle distance as they ramble about some Kiryu guy or whatever.
The sky gets ever darker, only lit by the neon signs as the gang go from business to business, racking up storefront after storefront under their own names. They keep clearing out businesses, buying everyone out and always celebrating with Henny for Ape and STEEZ, water for Conor. We get a montage of Kamurocho slowly being built in the image of PRIDE, the three of them dominating one of the most competitive real estate markets in the world with ease over the course of a few hours. Parties are thrown in their honour, and they all return to Theatre Square once more, spinning in circles to take in the view of their new imminent domain.
May 22nd, 3:48AM JST - Theatre Square, Kamurocho, Tokyo Song:
Receive and Turn You by Hidenori Shoji However, their festivities are soon cut short as Conor looks up to the sky, asking "do... do I hear boss music? Why do I hear boss music?" STEEZ passes it off as nothing, but as they all set their eyes across the square, they see three men standing ominously under the synthetic Kamurocho lights. Both trios slowly march towards each other, ending up about twenty feet apart, going up the steps to meet gazes properly. Across from PRIDE stand a muscular man in a silver suit and a dark red button-up shirt, a dude with an eyepatch, hard hat and snakeskin blazer, and a tremendous man in a somehow oversized military green parka.
Staring at them, Conor again asks "Ape, do those guys look like..." he whispers in Ape's ear, and Ape shakes his head. "No, they look nothing like them. No resemblance whatsoever." The eyepatched man starts laughing maniacally as he stares Conor down, Cassidy looking a little taken aback before checking his watch. "It's nearly 4:00, aren't we all booked tomorrow?" STEEZ says they'll be done quickly as the parka-bearing man cracks his knuckles, the silver suited man in the centre tearing away his blazer and shirt to reveal a dragon on his back. PRIDE all chuckle slightly nervously, shrugging, and, with a dynamic battle cut in starting and the music reaching its climax, all six leap into battle, the frame freezing in mid-air as we end on a cliffhanger. Goodnight, folks, and enjoy Graduation!
PRIDE Will Return. submitted by

2020.10.31 14:01 Waifer2016 The peanut gallery , a math teacher and how we all earned an easy A!
Hello Mr Reddit!
I posted this last month in Malicious Compliance and thought you might enjoy it.
Hello Reddit!
Come back with me, back in time to 1982. Michael Jackson was dancing with zombies, ET was setting the world on fire, and I was in grade 10.
I was never what you would call smart when it came to math. English- great! Art - even better! Set me down in front of a page of numbers , however, and I promptly turned into a gibbering , panic stricken dumb dumb. After a summer spent in remedial summer school, it was decided by those in authority that instead of the UP math (university preparation ) math I had been signed up for, I would instead be moved into the general (math for dumb dumbs) classroom at the start of the school year. I was very happy as my friends were also dumb dumbs and were already signed up for that class so the first day of school I skipped blithely through the door and sat down with my class of fellow dumb dumbs.
Standing at the front of the room was a tiny little man in a rumpled suit and a receding hair line. Once we had all settled into our seats, the fellow introduced himself as our teacher for the year.
Teacher - (I will paraphrase his wonderful accent. Seriously, I LOVED his accent!) Hello students! I am Mr Moshi. You will call me Moshi. This is math for dumb dumbs. (he really said that!) You are here because you are not so good at the math so Moshi make deal with you. Every day you will come to the class. You will sit , talk to friends, play games. Moshi will read newspaper. Every day Moshi will ask one question. You try. Only try! Moshi give you an A! This class is the peanut gallery , only have to try! You get an A! Moshi read paper. Deal?
We looked at each other , grinned and yelled DEAL!
Math quickly became my favourite hour of the day. Each day we would spend the time chatting with our friends, playing games and Moshi read his paper and ate jelly beans. Before the end of each class, he would fold his paper, stand up and put a simple problem on the chalk board for us to answer. This went on for about 2 months when one morning Moshi came into the class looking completely panicked. His hands were shaking , and he was white as a sheet. (which for a man from India was impressive!)
Moshi - Moshi is in trouble. Someone , rat teacher, tattled on Moshi. Tomorrow the schoolboard is coming to review your class. Moshi might loose his job! I make a deal with you! You are Moshi's favourite dumb dumbs. Tomorrow when school board comes, Moshi will teach. You will pay attention. Ask smart questions! Do work! Moshi teach. School board will be impressed and Moshi will keep his job. (Oh how i loved that man!) After that Moshi will go back to reading his newspaper and you can go back to talking with friends. Deal? We looked around at each other- we had to protect our favourite teacher! DEAL!
The next day when we got to the classroom, there were 2 men and a lady in very dapper suits, scowling in the back of the classroom. We filed in quietly and took out our (still brand new) math books. Seriously they were so new i think some of them creaked when they were opened haha. We took out scribblers and pencils and calculators. We sat quietly like the perfect little students those big -wigs expected to see. Enter Moshi. His suit was pressed! His shoes were polished! His hair was combed! This was serious! Never had 20 kids paid closer attention to a math lesson. All of us were riveted to Moshi and his chalkboard. We took notes, we asked questions - hell we even answered questions posed by the school board monsters! We made sure we were absolutely perfect. At the end of the class, the school board drones left smiling after shaking Moshi's hand and we breathed a huge sigh of relief while grinning at each other.
The next day, Moshi came in the class beaming from ear to ear.
Moshi- Moshi loves his dumb dumbs! You all are wonderful! Moshi still has job! Today Moshi reads the paper, and you talk to friends!
At the end of the year every single one of us had an A on our report cards.
Where ever you are Mr. Moshi , I wish you well You were the best teacher ever.
Small edit to respond to worries he did us wrong- Moshi was sneaky. Those simple problems he put up each day? Followed the textbook. We learned basic math inspite of our seeming inattention and all of us passed a simple 1 page math exam at years end. This is why he was such an amazing teacher.

2020.10.27 23:38 pix-ie [PC][2010s] Online Kids Game
Hello, everyone. I’ve posted about this on
tipofmytongue about two years ago on another account, with no results. This particular game has been stuck in my head for years now, and I have no clue what it was called. I am 100% certain it existed.
For starters, I’m pretty sure I played this game around early 2013. It was an online kids game, like Club Penguin or Moshi Monsters. It was free-to-play; you had to sign up and stuff. The thing about this game was that you could make your own character entirely from scratch (no, it wasn’t literally Scratch, the program used to make games). I had an online friend at the time, who introduced me to the game (I have never heard of it beforehand), and he made an avatar for me- a My Little Pony OC. When I say you could make your character anything, I mean it. I remember seeing Pokémon characters, Minecraft characters, literally anything you could think of. It was neat. I’m pretty sure you had your own house and could decorate it, also caring for your character. I can’t exactly remember all the details of how you played.
A lot of it is a blur, but what I remember
precisely is that there was a lobby that everyone on the game could go to, socializing with other people that play and such, and the song “What A Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong played in the background.
This is a detail that I know for sure was in the game. It sounds odd, I know. But I swear this game was real.
I would love to contact my friend from back then that introduced me to the game, however, I have no idea where he is now-a-days. We were both fairly young at the time, and lost touch. I’ve attempted to find him on social media to contact him & try to get this thing out of my head, but I’ve had no luck. If anyone has any idea what this game could be, please feel free to comment. I unfortunately can’t remember anything else about it.

2020.05.10 17:28 Micaramel While You Were Sleeping 😴 [Let's Build] d100 significant changes that happened while the players took a long rest or were away from the area
[85/100]. You snooze, you lose, sometimes at least. If the players weren't moved enough by the tension of a scenario and took a long rest or left an area and came back, what are some things that can change?
- Kidnapped people sold: some have been sold into slavery already
- Kidnapped people eaten: some have been eaten already.
- Treasure spent: there was more loot but the antagonists have spent a bunch of it on experiences, you might overhear "Last night was super expensive but so worth it, we spent a lot of gold but if this place collapsed right now I'd die happy".
- Treasure used: the antagonists have figured out how a magic item works and have used some charges or use them against the players.
- Respawn: the players cleared out an area but the antagonists have clerics or necromancers who've brought some of their compatriots back to life or to undeath.
- Scavengers: the corpses of slain enemies have drawn scavengers who attack the party, hungry for more. Could be anything from rat swarms to a giant beast.
- Trap change: the configuration of traps changes with the time of day or phase of the moon (explained by glyphs or markings if the players investigate).
- Limited time coffer: the treasure/secret mountain dooplanar portal is only one day a year or with a particular celestial alignment.
- Wipeout: A leviathan has been released from the elemental plane of water and has laid waste to the only big city, massive port/dock, that the party has been to. - u/gdRios24

- Hunted - A powerful adversary has picked up the trail of the party and announces its intentions to defeat the party whenever it catches up. Examples might include a supernatural bounty hunter (if your players are prone to dicking over powerful people or the law), a revenant (if your players tend to kill folks unjustly), a being like the monster from It Follows (if you have a bard...), etc. If you want to introduce this as a prolonged mechanic, keep a slider that ratchets up the more your party dithers or even just takes a rest. - u/archDeaconstructor

- Mind flayer - One of the players awakens in a sweat as a sticky, slimy feeling creeps up the back of their neck like a large slug. As they reactively reach back to feel what is there, they grab something cold and wet, which quickly glides out of their hand. They just grabbed the tentacle of a Mind Flayer currently under the effects of Greater Invisibility, who was merely seconds away from having the player's brain for lunch. Regardless of whether the player is capable of knowing this, via seeing invisible or some other enchantment, the illithid steps back and attempts to scramble their brain with a Mind Blast. This altercation awakes the rest of the party, now in the presence of an unknown powerful foe. - u/Squarehead9364
- Tricksters While the party sleeps, mischievous goblins swap out their healing potions for vials of colourful mud. - u/OwenMcCauley

When they find out that they took a sleep in the dungeon, they almost berate them. "You WHAT?! WHAT WERE YOU THINKING??"
