So my current bicycle is an MTB from stone age (2006), which I bought second hand for around 120$. 160mm disc brakes with zoom mechanical (well, a proper replacement is more expensive than the bike), with 3x7 gearing (largest ratio is 42/14 = 3), 26" tires. Both the front and rear suspensions are just springs, they are quite terrible but is still comfortable on the road.
I mostly ride on flat road, which are not always top tier quality, and I sometimes go uphill (on the road), but never in hard terrain.
Today I rented a hardtail trekking, it was very comfortable to ride, but I wasn't really satisfied. I couldn't move and react that fast with it, and my top speed was noticeable lower (measured with GPS, the same way as with my own). I like to start off and stop very quick, and ride it hard.
So I'm looking for a bike that: - have the same gear ratio as mine or higher - at least front suspension - I can ride more aggressively - the frame is also suitable (trekking was comfortable for cruising, but inconvenient for going fast) - a tire width of an mtb (I like lower pressures, around 20 psi, it's a charm for bad roads)
My question is: what should I consider when buying? What type of bike to look for?

Hello. I am a hobbyist photographer mainly taking pictures of my family and some sports. May get back into macro photography.
Years ago, I bought a 5d3, 24-70 L, 70-300L, and 100M Macro.
Leaving for a family vacation to South Korea soon. Just ordered a Canon R8 and with the adaptor and extra battery.
Wanting confirmation on my purchase. -Image quality will be the same as the 5d3. -Superior AF with the R8 -Smaller body is a bonus while on vacation.
So, should I take the 24-70 L lens? or will one of the pancake lens work? 24mm, 28mm, or should I go with 35mm. Mostly pictures of family with background while on vacation. Concern is weight and lugging around extra gear.
**Was it the smart move to upgrade from 5d3 to R8? I think the tech is better and the smaller size is convenient.

Dick's heart hammered against his chest like a pounding storm as he stood amidst the laboratory, flanked by Artemis and Barry Allen, the Flash. The weight of worry for Mar'i bore down on him unbearably, each moment without her amplifying his anxiety.
In the secluded closet hidden at the back of the lab, Dick and Artemis had found something haunting: a trove of withered seedlings, dead plants that looked alien in nature. Assuming the worst, but needing to confirm, Dick had quickly summoned a friend with a history of running genetic samples - none other than the Scarlet Speedster - to the scene.
Barry’s brow furrowed in concentration as he examined the specimens, having already run several tests.
“I'm limited in what I can do here; I'm a CSI, not a xenologist,” Barry admitted with regret, evoking his favourite chief medical officer of fiction. “Really, this really feels like a job for someone like Cadmus. Alien DNA is their whole deal.”
Dick could only grimace at the suggestion, reminded of the sickening experiments he had unearthed in the bowels of the Chicago cloning laboratory, of the dozens of aborted attempts at cloning Bruce Wayne. It was hard to stomach, especially knowing that he still had no idea who was responsible. “Not an option," he replied firmly. “Not Cadmus.”
Barry raised an eyebrow, his curiosity evident in his expression. “You don't believe those rumours about the Superboy clones, do you?" he asked. “They’re Reawakened through and through. Blame the other universes’ Cadmuses.”
In response, Dick shook his head. “It’s not that. It’s… something else.”
Barry then looked to Artemis and smiled. “It’s, uh… nice to meet you properly by the way,” he said. “I heard you, uh, shoot arrows.”
Despite the terrible situation they were in, Artemis allowed herself a snicker in response to the Flash’s awkwardness. “Among other things. It’s important to branch out, seeing as I know you already have an arrows guy.”
Just then, Tim emerged from behind a sliding door, draped in his red and black Rook gear, a stack of papers in hand. “Got the printouts you asked for,” he said, handing them over to Barry.
Barry swiftly flipped through the pages at super speed, his expression growing grim as he absorbed the information.
“What is it?” asked Artemis.
“What we feared,” he announced somberly. “The dead seedlings match the profile of alien species, with a significant DNA match for the Morning Eclipse sample you got from Starling’s fingernails.”
Dick's frustration boiled over, his voice dripping with anger. “Wilkof,” he spat, his jaw clenched in fury. “He let that damn killer plant loose.”
Tim struck himself in the shoulder in self-reproach. “I should've put it together sooner,” he muttered. “Wilkof knew plenty about Tamaran even before you let him speak to Mar’i.”
“It’s worse than we thought,” added Barry, and everyone’s blood turned cold. “This Dr Wilkof wasn't just releasing the Morning Eclipse, he was trying to propagate them; taking cuttings to grow more of them. We’re just lucky the Earth's sunlight is too diffuse for their growth.”
Dick's eyes widened in horror. “So he’s trying to create an army of killer plants?”
Barry nodded solemnly. “An army or a particularly menacing greenhouse.”
Artemis's brow furrowed as she pieced together a crucial detail. “Wait, a couple years ago they had me subbing in the bio department at school for a few months. I’m pretty sure plants grown from cuttings are meant to be genetically identical to the parent.”
Tim cursed under his breath and then reached for the printouts to give them a check over himself. “You’re right! Genetic variation only occurs after pollination. But these plants aren't self-pollinated. They're too distinct from the original sample taken from Mar'i’s attack.”
Barry's voice quivered as he raised a troubling possibility. “Could there be two adult killer plants on the loose?”
“No, it's not that,” Tim quickly replied again, his expression grave as he looked up from the stack of papers. “It's worse.”
Artemis' heart sank. “How could it possibly be worse?”
“The dead seedlings share identical DNA with each other. And every single one of their genes is present in the parent sample. But the parent also has additional chromosomes that all of the seedlings lack,” Tim explained as his eyes traced the text on the papers once more. “The parent had an extra 48 chromosomes.”
Barry's face paled. "48? Are you sure?”
“48? What does that mean?” asked Dick, looking rapidly back and forth between Tim and Barry.
Artemis gritted her teeth. “Humans have 48 chromosomes. The adult plant is half human.”
“Fully human,” Barry corrected. “And fully plant too. A symbiosis.”
“What does that mean?” asked Dick, scared of the answer he would soon receive.
“It means I think Wilkof merged himself with the plant.”

Mar’i lay in the darkness of the car’s trunk, helpless. She couldn’t tell how long it had been since she last felt the sun’s warmth on her skin. She tried to summon childhood memories of Tamaran, of the sun her father had found oppressive and her mother found liberating. But they were distant and blurred, echoes from another lifetime - and another timeline.
As the car rumbled on, she focused on her senses, trying to glean any information about her surroundings. The air was stale and musty, tinged with the scent of oil and rubber. The vibrations of the road beneath her reverberated through her body, a constant reminder of her captivity.
Eventually, the car came to a halt, and Mar’i braced herself as the trunk door creaked open, flooding the confined space with blinding light. Blinking rapidly, she squinted against the harsh glare, feeling the rejuvenating solar rays bathing her, a stark contrast to the cold darkness of her confinement.
Dr Wilkof loomed over her, his appearance now almost normal except for a slight pallor that hinted at something darker beneath the surface. He reached out, his hands enveloping her wrists, which were bound with withered rope. Thick, barbed vines extended from the sleeves of his coat, renewing her restraints and further draining what little power reserves she had left.
As he dragged her up out of the trunk, Mar’i found herself in the midst of a desolate car park, surrounded by nothing but empty space and the looming silhouette of a large hangar. She had nary a clue of where they were.
“It will be easier if you don’t struggle,” he said, his tone devoid of joy or malice, as if he were simply stating a fact. But Mar’i knew better than to trust his words.
As Wilkof led her towards the hangar, Mar’i stumbled along behind him, the vines around her wrists taut like a leash. She tried to reason with him, to appeal to the vestiges of his humanity buried beneath the madness that gripped him.
“You don’t have to do this,” she implored, unsure of how much of his humanity really remained. “The plant doesn’t have to control you.”
Wilkof's eyes gleamed with a haunted fervour as he shook his head, the vines’ grip tightening around Mar'i’s wrists. “I've sacrificed too much to stop now,” he muttered. Those words carried a strange quality,like they weren’t fully his. Maybe it was the plant talking, maybe they were words he had rehearsed to himself enough times for them to become hollow. “I won’t let it all be in vain.”
For a moment, Mar’i was left to wonder what he meant by that. Then she remembered what little she knew about him, and a shiver ran down her spine. (He had fed the rest of his team from the lab to the plant, a grim sacrifice to fuel his delusions of grandeur.*
“No one cared about mild-mannered Hunter Wilkof,” he continued, his voice cracking with bitterness. “The plant promised to make me someone special, to make me famous.”
Mar’i shook her head in disbelief as she continued to be lugged along. “The plant doesn’t speak,” she insisted with a rising urgency. “Its pheromones mess with your mind, make you see and hear things that aren’t there.”
But Wilkof brushed off her words with a scoff. “I don’t care,” he replied, his gaze fixed on the hangar ahead. “I fed the plant like I was told, but the fame never came. I let it eat the only thing I ever loved. But… nothing changed.”
Her heart yearned to find some way to free him of the plant’s clutches, to help him see the light, but she knew well what desperation could do to a person, if left unchecked. She knew how far someone could fall.
“Then I realised… I wasn’t meant for prizes and celebrity,” he continued, deranged. “That wasn’t what the plant had planned for us. It’s just like you said in your Tamaranean fairy tale, the Morning Eclipse and its legend. I knew we were meant for infamy, but just one plant and its keeper wouldn’t do the trick. We needed a bigger family.”
At this point, Hunter stopped, and the pair had finally reached the mouth of the hangar. Mar’i searched through the darkness, but was struggling to see straight at all thanks to the toxic, draining effect of her Morning Eclipse vine restraints.
Wilkof just stared into the darkness, and continued. “I tried taking cuttings, but no matter how much blood, meat or southern exposure I gave them… it wasn’t enough, and they wilted. It wouldn’t tell me why it wasn’t working, and all I knew was that the plant was from Tamaran,” he confessed, his voice growing hoarse with emotion. “So I went to look for Starfire, but she was in space. And then… then I found you. A hybrid like me.”
But throughout Hunter’s grim confession, Mar’i was still missing some important details. “How did you know the plant was from Tamaran?” She defied him, “It doesn’t have a mind of its own, so it couldn’t have told you.”
Hunter smiled. “I used to drive out into the countryside and just leave my car behind, go for these long walks to clear my head when city life got too much,” he explained, a shroud of something resembling peace slowly falling over him. “I always felt guilty for it, reasoning I should have been spending that time in the lab, looking for ways to help people. But this one day, a few years ago now, I realised it was all worth it.”
He then pulled a remote from his pocket and pressed a button at its centre. As the lights of the hangar flickered to life, they revealed a magnificent sight, something Mar’i immediately recognised as a First Class Vegan Star Cruiser - a Tamaranean space vessel from the shipyards of Okaara - resplendent in hues of silver and violet. The ship stood tall and proud, a beacon of extraterrestrial wonder amidst the mundane surroundings of the hangar. But why was it here? And how did Wilkof have it?
He gestured towards the ship with an odd gleam in his eyes. “Suddenly, and without warning, this spaceship came crashing down through the sky just a couple of miles away, out here, where it was just me there to see it,” he explained. “So I rushed over, I searched the wreckage… and that’s where I found it. It was only a sapling, a baby really, and it called out to me. I knew I needed to take it home, back to the lab, back for testing.”
Mar’i shook her head. How was he to have known back then that the plant was pulling his strings?
“I stashed the ship away, knowing its potential,” he confessed. “The ship’s computer confirmed its origins: Tamaran. Apparently it even used to belong to a princess named Komand’r.”
Mar’i's mind raced as she processed this revelation. Komand’r - also known as the tyrant queen Blackfire - was Koriand’r’s sister, and Mar’i’s aunt. Someone she had already come across early in her time in this universe. Then, just in time for him to answer it without her asking, Mar’i happened upon another awful question.
“I got some guys in to make repairs, and another guy to… basically hotwire the thing, before I fed them all to the plant. But the ship won’t fly without one final security measure,” continued Hunter, his gaze fixed on Mar’i. “A pilot with Tamaranean DNA.”

Back in the lab, Dick, Artemis and Tim continued to put the pieces together, now sans Barry who had raced off to join Wally in combing the city for either Mar’i or the Morning Eclipse, not knowing that both were far from the city limits.
“Why Mar’i?” Dick demanded. “What does Wilkof want with her? Her Starbolts could be used to fuel the plant and its cuttings, but that’d only make a difference at night, when they can’t get sunlight for themselves.”
Artemis nodded in agreement. “Surely they can survive a night without sunlight,” she surmised. “So what else would he come to Mar’i for?”
“Could it be her DNA?” posed Tim. “Maybe he has a use for DNA from a Tamanrean.”
“What kind of uses?” asked Dick. It wouldn’t be that, but his mind once again returned to the cloning vats of Cadmus. “No, it’s not that.”
“Then what else could it be?” Artemis sighed, frustrated. All of this analysis, brainstorming and scheming, and they were no closer to finding the missing Titan.
Then, Dick’s face blanched with fear. “She knows the way,” he said simply, his voice barely above a whisper.
“The way to what?” asked Tim, his own anxiety rising.
“To Tamaran,” Dick replied with dread. “A place where the sun shines bright enough for a hundred Morning Eclipses.”

In the dimly lit interior of what was once her aunt Komand'r's ship, Mar'i's heart raced with fear and uncertainty, now strapped into her seat beside the demented Dr Wilkof. The vessel, a marvel of Vega System technology, exuded an otherworldly aura, its sleek silver surfaces shimmering with an ethereal glow. Yet, to Mar'i, it felt more like a prison than a wonder.
She couldn't shake the sense of dread that gripped her. Tamaran, a place she once called home, now loomed before her as an unfamiliar and foreboding destination. She knew of the tumultuous history of this universe's Tamaran, the tales of military coups and the reign of the Orange Lantern Larfleeze, all of which added to her apprehension. The planet had hundreds of Morning Eclipses, but none had ever merged with a sapient vessel before. The killer plants were best survived by being completely ignored, which wouldn’t be possible with an intelligent host scheming and bringing the plants to their vulnerable prey. Could she inflict that threat on Tamaran?
Wilkof's jubilant smile did little to assuage her fears as he spoke. “When we reach the planet - with its gleaming sun - I’ll have everything I need. I'll create more Morning Eclipses, genetically superior ones, and they will bond with Tamaranean vessels to enhance their intelligence. And then there’ll be no more sacrifices, just feeding.”
Mar'i's stomach churned at the thought of being complicit in Wilkof's madness. But she also knew that she was in no position to bargain. And he knew it.
With a heavy heart and a sense of resignation, Mar'i steeled herself for the task ahead and the ship hummed to life around them, hurtling toward an uncertain destiny.
Then, as they quickly hit sonic speed, Hunter turned to his pilot and prisoner, keen to share a thought he hoped would bring her peace. “I want you to know… once we get to Tamaran, I’ll never have to return to Earth again. Don’t think about where we’re going, think about what we’re leaving behind. This is you saving planet Earth.”

how to remove a 3 gear freewheel for a bicycle?

I'm finally moving on from public skate and shooting on asphalt to practicing at stick and puck!
The stick and puck closest to me requires shins and elbows in addition to helmet and gloves. I have a jersey, but am struggling to find pants that fit over my shin pads. Does anyone have recommendations for warm-up pants that fit over shin pads?
As for why I'm not just wearing hockey pants (and shoulder pads): I have to lug my gear in the NYC subway so I only bring what's required.

TLDR: Dahon 20” folding bike rear wheel buckled, part costs £190, insurance unlikely to cover. Deciding between replacement by new/used bike or replacement. Also seeking advice on possible disposal.
Hi all,
I got a Dahon Vitesse i7 that was transferred to the previous owner from cycle scheme in 2014. It was bought for £112 2 years ago. The handle post was broken due to metal fatigue and was replaced 1 year ago. Due to my generous proportions, when I load up my bike with groceries , it is very likely that the combined weight sometimes exceeds the max rider weight of 105kg as recommended by Dahon, though I do not know if it includes luggage in the figure. As a result, I often find the wheel requires turing after about 6 months of use.
After the most recent visit to my LBC, I was advised that the rear wheel was buckled and requires replacement. I looked online and saw the replacement is £189.99. Considering the cost of replacement and that insurance is unlikely to cover it, I am torn between repairing it or buying a new/ used one.
Can anyone advise me on whether to repair it or to procure a new/used bike?
Since I don’t have to travel as often as before, I could also go with a normal bike for commuting in the future. I could also take advantage of the cycle scheme when I start working later this year but my workplace and the surrounding locality is notorious for bike theft. Bromptons are off limits as my workplace will not allow storage of bicycles inside. Also, I would like any replacement bike to have similar luggage carrying capacity.
I also don’t know how to dispose of the old bike if I decide to replace it, can anyone advise me on that?

I know the real answer is “Do what you want to do!”
So, in the late 90’s my father and I turned the basement into a studio. For about 15 years used it to record demo’s for my bands and many friends bands. It turned into a great space where anyone was welcome and we just ran the board all day, recording everything.
Everyone grew old and moved on. Now, my father uses the space for his band and they do the same with recording practices. I’m regaining interest in music and have started visiting often.
The frame work of the set up is a Mackie 24x8 recording onto an Alesis HD24. I still have all 3 ADAT’s that predate it. Plenty rack effects, preamps and whatnot, as well as a very impressive collection of microphones.
One of my customers has offered payment for services (I work on high end bicycles and take side work) in the form of a new Tascam Model 24. I see they are $1200 new on Sweetwater. I played around with it and it’s cool I guess. The value of work I’ll be doing for him is $500.
I’m not doing any crazy recording, it’s just a hobby and the gear I have works. Would moving to a modern setup be a game changer or just be new shiny stuff? My financial situation is fine so the money will just get put away. I am also aware that all of my gear outside of microphones and my drums don’t hold much value. Not worried about that part at all.

Not static stuff like team-loading or crew-loading a weapon. Or the datamined stuff about lugging around gear. I'm saying, weapons interplay with one another and enhance one another.
Arc thrower applies a debuff that makes it so plasma beams, plasma grenades, charge up plasma, and such like, all do additional damage.
Quasar applies a big orange-red molten looking decal. Anyone laser weapons targeting these areas get a +1 to their armor penetration category. Quasar would enable something like a laser cannon to reliably assist in bringing down big targets.
Any hitbox currently being hit with the laser cannon is -2 armor class for said hitbox.
Gas+airburst launcher=spreads the gas out further for a bigger effect area.
Corrosive orbital strike gas+Incendiary grenade=Boom.
All of this seems way more fun and dynamic than standing beside another guy and just mashing interact or reload keys.

TLDR: DF54✓ Blind Shaker ~
So, I'm going to revisit these two recently much discussed topics. I've personally posted about them before and wanted to share additional insight after using both of these tools for a while now in comparison to my previous setup.
SmartGrinder -> DF54:
I'm 3 weeks into using my DF54. I love it. For perspective, for nearly 10 years, I had been using a Breville SmartGrinder BSG800XL (not the Pro), which I bought used. As a total noob, it was OK, but as my knowledge and understanding of espresso making developed, it's weaknesses became more and more apparent, particularly its inability to really grind fine enough for espresso. This weakness became more and more apparent as I upgraded my Gaggia Classic, particularly after purchasing a performance basket. This prompted me to shim the lower burr, which was cheap, simple and thankfully effective. I was finally able to dial in adequately. The deeper weakness of this grinder is really the build quality, and although this used grinder lasted me almost 19 years, it finally failed, shortly after I pre-ordered my DF54 but before I recieved it. I've had a good look inside the SmartGrinder in order to assess the failure (main gear vs impeller) and have seen the weakness of both parts. I also posted recently about the MASSIVE amount of retention. So, today when I did my first cleaning of my DF54, I was very happy. Alone, the ability to easily access both burs and the grind chamber for cleaning is an order of magnitude difference. There was some static retention in the hopper (of all places), but the burrs and grind chamber had only the most minimal amount of grinds. <0.5g. Disassembling, cleaning and reassembly are super easy. The coffee I'm getting is excellent, and the adjustment mechanism is very good. Easy enough to move and firm enough to stay where it is set. The adjustment ring is large enough to make very small adjustments. Static was minimal to non existent, so I hadn't need to use any RDT, until...
Grind to Portafilter -> Blind Shaker -> Dosing Cup (and back?):
With my SmartGrinder, I always ground (single dose) to my portafilter with a makeshift dosing ring and RDT to mitigate static, then thorough WDT and leveling. I picked up a cheap blind shaker (total WW knock-off) like so many after watching Lance's videos. There was a minor increase in visible channelling/squirting, and my workflow time seems about the same, but I liked not needing a hack-job dosing ring. When I switched to the DF54, I kept using the blind shaker. It friction fits nicely in the portafilter holder. I didn't really notice a change in visible channelling, and it was still a bit worse than it had been with my SmartGrinder and WDT. So the other day I ditched the blind shaker. The DF54's portafilter fork does not play nice with my Gaggia portafilter's offset ears, or my dosing ring. It generally seems too big. (First negative) So, I pulled out the plastic dosing cup that shipped with the DF54. Static nightmare! I actually thing that this is what is responsible for the retained grounds in the hopper. It was awful. I'll never use that thing again. (Second negative) After wrangling the static mess, I tipped the catch cup into my portafilter and did my thorough WDT and then leveled with the tool as I have done for years. Got a very nice, spray free extraction, as with the next pull. So, the blind shaker is kind of a wash to a nevermind. Maybe I'll try and anodized/powder coated catch cup, or try to work out the portafilter fork issue, because that plastic catch cup is an unmitigated static disaster.
Neither of those negatives is remotely enough to get me to disparage the DF54 at all. I think it is by the best flat burr grinder out there for the money, and it is a vast improvement over what I was using, for about the same MRSP. Crazy.
It does prompt me to ask if anyone else out there has any tips about using the portafilter holder with offset Gaggia lugs, or if anyone has experience with static and metal catch cups with different finishes. Looking forward to any input.

Hi,
I'm pondering my first bike. I would like to go with a 125 to start because I don't know if I 100% trust myself with a bigger one and also don't want to spend to much... I could get up to 34kW/45hp though.
Anyway, the only reason for me not to go with a 125 would be to not be able to get up the hills properly of which there are plenty here in Switzerland and I already love riding my bicycle in the hills.
I weigh about 155lbs/70kg in full gear.
Mainly I don't want to be a traffic obstruction on two wheels - speed limit is 80kph here unless on motorway. Performance as such is not so interesting, I had a blast on a small rental electric 30mph/45kph scooter the other day but making way for traffic behind me did not feel good.
Do you have opinions? Or better: experience?
I might consider a Cb300r or bmw 310 r but would prefer not to. I'd love a grom/msx but that is just not powerful enough for the mountains, or so I've read.

Hello all, I'm here to deliver a salutary lesson on the ten most egregious errors to avoid when selecting a point of sale system for your restaurant. Because, frankly, the prospect of inadvertently torpedoing your own enterprise with a disastrous choice is too ghastly to contemplate.

1. Forgetting About Reviews – Always peruse the reviews. If there’s a consensus that it’s dreadful, it's probably not slander. Unless, of course, the complaints are exclusively from rivals, in which case perhaps invest in several.
2. Ignoring Integration – Selecting a POS that doesn't mesh with your existing tech is akin to inviting a notoriously difficult relative to a family gathering. It’s an unmitigated recipe for disaster.
3. Skimping on Features – Opting for a stripped-down system? That’s like purchasing a vehicle devoid of a reverse gear. It moves, yes, but to what end?
4. Overcomplicating Things – If operating it requires a doctoral thesis, avoid it. Your staff are here to cook and serve, not decode the enigma of quantum mechanics.
5. Forgetting About Support – A POS without robust support is comparable to a dubious parachute. It might open; then again, it might not. Fancy a gamble?
6. Paying Too Much – Don't be hoodwinked by exorbitant costs. Expensive does not automatically equate to superior. Remember, that overpriced burger is still just a burger.
7. Ignoring Security – A system that can't safeguard your data is as prudent as leaving your establishment unlocked overnight. It's a burglar's dream.
8. Forgetting Scalability – Choosing a system that can’t expand with your business is like swapping your child’s bicycle for a unicycle just as they’ve mastered riding.

Hi guys!
So as the title says, I used to cycle a lot when I was younger (10-18yo). I'd take my bicycle everywhere, and I'd often do 40-50km with my dad. I eventually moved countries and stopped cycling. I want to get back to it, now that I will have the space to have some gear, and I'd like to know what are the musts for you guys gear wise? I want to eventually go on ridiculously long journeys, but for now I'd like to go at least once a week and do 40-50km again. I am really leaning towards getting a Triban bicycle, as I've seen some for £300 on Decathlon and they seem to have great reviews online both on several websites and YouTube. It looks like it would be perfect for me, and it's quite affordable. Any other suggestions? And what gadgets can't you live without?

I know this might be a stupid question and i should have done my research before going but, i drove uphill using D4 gear for almost 20 minutes in my 2012 94k miles automatic 1.5l toyota corolla, the rpm went from 4500 down to 2000 on full throttle and its my first time going uphill and i didnt realize that i have to change to lower gear when going uphill and the gear was kept at D4. I've done serviced my car 2 weeks before going on an uphill trip with my friends, so will lugging once damage the motor or the transmission?

I decided that I wanted to buy my carbon wheels from Light Bicycle but from what I see, they don't have a lot for fixed gears or single speeds.
Can anyone that has bought from them, do a quick run down as to how they got their wheels for their fixed gear?

We would love to attend a family wedding in Ravello which is happening in July of 2025. We will be bringing our children - 5 yrs, 3yrs, and 5 months (currently pregnant)
Is this logistically possible? LOL
So far I assume it would be best to hire a car service from Naples? Not sure how we fit 2 adults and 3 kids with a driver. Any tips on car seats? Any car safety laws in Italy I should be aware of? (We live in the US)
Should we rent a car? I don’t feel comfortable driving around the cliffs of the Amalfi coast
We would bring a carrier for the baby to get around.
Not sure if we find an airbnb or get a hotel - any tips on family-friendly hotels? Or airbnb properties that families with young children have liked?
Has anyone used a rental service for baby gear in this region so we don’t have to lug all the baby stuff with us?

Hello everyone, hoping to get some insight on something I noticed driving my LR4 the other day. I’m in the US and have the SCV6 with 8HP70 trans. I got into the car to move it back into my driveway after being parked on the street for a day and had a check engine light for some sort of camshaft code “circuit B” (foolishly cleared the code before getting a picture or writing it down). The vehicle occasionally may run slightly rougher than I expect while in gear (D or R and foot on brake), has NO rattle or timing chain noise that I’m aware of or can hear either at cold/hot startup or while revving the engine. There is a loose heat shield on the transmission that I can hear rattle sometimes at 1100rpm under load (essentially lugging the engine under light throttle) and have been able to crawl under and verify as loose.
I wanted to know if this sounds like a timing chain issue or a camshaft position sensor going out. One is obviously easier than the other to repair and I have checked in the oil fill cap the tension of the timing chain with a pick (had a LR tech tell me this was a way to see condition of the chains at least on one side) and they were nice and tight. The car runs wells and is coming up on its 112,000 mile service, in which I planned to do spark plugs, fluids, and filters. It currently has 103k and change on the odometer. No warning lights or codes currently on. I’d love to hear some input of what I might be experiencing. This is my first LR4 but I’m not new to Land Rovers, any help is welcome.
